• 1:35
Speaker 1: Your most rewarding season yet, because you're with Fender, you're
• 1:38
Speaker 1: with the boys, you're with Josh Payne. Let's have a
• 1:39
Speaker 1: hell of a show. Big hugs, tiny kisses.
• 1:57
Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of The Locker Room. Welcome to
• 2:01
Speaker 2: another episode of The Locker Room. I'm trying to do
• 2:03
Speaker 2: no notes. Yeah. No notes.
• 2:04
  Speaker 3: No notes.
• 2:05
Speaker 2: This show is presented by the number one sportsbook in America,
• 2:08
Speaker 2: and that is the FanDuel Sportsbook. And just to let
• 2:10
Speaker 2: you know, before we get rolling and all of our picks,
• 2:12
Speaker 2: all of our bets, everything else, FanDuel always has your
• 2:15
Speaker 2: back when it comes to safety. We gamble responsibly on
• 2:19
Speaker 2: the show. You can go to FanDuel.com slash play with
• 2:21
Speaker 2: a plan. There's also a responsible gaming section in the app.
• 2:25
Speaker 2: Check those out. Gamble responsibly. Now, last week, the first
• 2:30
Speaker 2: couple of weeks, FanDuel has done a college football pick
• 2:33
Speaker 2: them where you can for free. pick 10 games against
• 2:37
Speaker 2: the spread, and you compete against us three. It's a
• 2:41
Speaker 2: good deal for them. It's a great deal because it's free.
• 2:43
Speaker 2: You're not wagering any money.
• 2:45
Speaker 1: And they're willing to sell us.
• 2:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, and you have good odds against us. But if
• 2:50
Speaker 2: you are the best, if you are the best in
• 2:52
Speaker 2: the pool, say you go 10 out of 10, whoever
• 2:54
Speaker 2: the top ones are, you will get to split a
• 2:56
Speaker 2: share of $ 500, 000. And this week, 523 people netted over
• 3:01
Speaker 2: $ 900 in bonus bets. Those are the best ones. Those
• 3:05
Speaker 2: are the best ones at the tip top of everything. Now,
• 3:08
Speaker 2: you also pick against me and Taylor. So if you're
• 3:10
Speaker 2: somebody last week who went 5 for 10 in your
• 3:13
Speaker 2: 10 against the spread picks for free... you should have
• 3:16
Speaker 2: already gotten a profit boost token. Taylor and Will went
• 3:18
Speaker 2: three for 10. Josh Payne went four for 10. You
• 3:21
Speaker 2: beat any one of us, you're going to get a
• 3:22
Speaker 2: profit boost token courtesy of FanDuel. Gamble responsibly. Shout out Fandom. Hey,
• 3:29
Speaker 2: you just smacked that. Shout out Fandom.
• 3:31
Speaker 3: You picked this up. You are talking like someone who's undefeated.
• 3:35
Speaker 3: You have the vibes of someone. You have the wardrobe
• 3:37
Speaker 3: of someone who's undefeated.
• 3:38
Speaker 2: You want to tell us how we're starting the show?
• 3:40
Speaker 2: You're just going to give him a layup going into
• 3:42
  Speaker 2: this right now?
• 3:42
Speaker 3: He was going to do it if we did.
• 3:43
  Speaker 2: He was.
• 3:44
  Speaker 3: Go ahead.
• 3:45
Speaker 2: I mean, we are undefeated.
• 3:46
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 3:46
Speaker 2: So let's just call that what it is.
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: Yes.
• 3:48
Speaker 2: Anthony Calandria, Big Ten Offense Player of the Week. I
• 3:50
Speaker 2: saw that. Let's call it what it is. We are
• 3:52
Speaker 2: a machine right now. One game at a time. We're
• 3:54
Speaker 2: focused on North Dakota. One game at a time. One
• 3:56
Speaker 2: game at a time. One game at a time. Oregon
• 3:58
Speaker 2: should be sweating a little bit come week seven. One
• 4:00
Speaker 2: game at a time, we're talking about North Dakota football
• 4:02
Speaker 2: this week. And we have Indiana before that, correct?
• 4:04
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 4:05
Speaker 2: So we got Indiana before that. And not only that, Maryland.
• 4:08
Speaker 2: Don't sleep on Maryland. Also, don't sleep on Michigan State.
• 4:11
Speaker 2: Never sleep on Michigan State. But we're focused on North
• 4:12
Speaker 2: Dakota this weekend. Good coaching.
• 4:15
Speaker 3: But you like this team, don't you?
• 4:17
Speaker 2: Josh, I will say I like this team a lot.
• 4:23
Speaker 2: It's funny. No, no, no.
• 4:24
  Speaker 3: Listen, you are....
• 4:27
  Speaker 2: Funny.
• 4:27
Speaker 1: Will Compton is funny.
• 4:29
Speaker 2: So what you're saying is serious. I feel like you're
• 4:31
Speaker 2: laughing at my Huskers right now. No, no.
• 4:33
Speaker 1: What you're saying is authentic, yet Will Compton is a
• 4:37
Speaker 1: funny person. So both those things are very, very perfect.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: No one's coming at Will.
• 4:42
Speaker 2: I do. No one's coming at Will. I like our
• 4:43
  Speaker 2: last comment.
• 4:44
Speaker 1: The comment of winning the offseason, that was a whole
• 4:47
  Speaker 1: different thing.
• 4:47
Speaker 2: In the offseason, the biggest question mark coming in on
• 4:50
Speaker 2: this Nebraska football offense was who's going to show up
• 4:53
Speaker 2: in the running back room? You lose Emmitt Johnson. Who's
• 4:55
Speaker 2: going to show up? Makai Nelson, Jamal Rule, true freshmen,
• 5:00
Speaker 2: running through your face. We got them. We are a
• 5:03
Speaker 2: running back factory at Nebraska right now. One game at
• 5:06
Speaker 2: a time, North Dakota. And also, I wasn't undefeated on
• 5:09
Speaker 2: my picks, but I had a very fruitful week last week.
• 5:11
Speaker 2: You did. You needed it.
• 5:13
Speaker 3: No one needed it more than you.
• 5:14
Speaker 2: I got the card right here, but just to go off, Josh,
• 5:16
Speaker 2: you had a brutal week over the weekend. Did I
• 5:19
Speaker 2: have a brutal week? You had a brutal week. It
• 5:21
  Speaker 2: didn't feel brutal. You're consistent.
• 5:23
Speaker 3: I hit my five unit.
• 5:24
Speaker 2: You did hit your five unit. When it comes to
• 5:26
Speaker 2: the units, you're fine. When you come to the units,
• 5:29
  Speaker 2: you're absolutely fine.
• 5:29
  Speaker 3: Question.
• 5:30
  Speaker 2: Go ahead.
• 5:31
Speaker 3: What else would it come to? I thought you and
• 5:33
Speaker 3: me agreed when we're letting you buy half points on
• 5:36
Speaker 3: live internet, it's got to come down to units. Otherwise,
• 5:39
Speaker 3: I'll just buy points all over the place. Listen.
• 5:42
  Speaker 2: That's on me.
• 5:42
  Speaker 5: All right.
• 5:43
Speaker 1: The Ford leaderboard segment is presented by Ford. A hard
• 5:46
Speaker 1: day's work starts with one thing. Someone willing to do it.
• 5:49
  Speaker 1: And where there's a will, there's a Ford F-Series truck.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: Let's get to the segment.
• 5:53
Speaker 2: Taylor's the champ right now. Yeah. Listen, it's been a
• 5:56
Speaker 2: good two weeks. Five-unit bet, parlay hit.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: Five-unit bet hit, parlay hit. You could have taken everything
• 6:01
Speaker 1: from me last week. As long as I got the
• 6:03
Speaker 1: outcome that I did in Ann Arbor, that was really
• 6:04
Speaker 1: all that mattered. Luckily, a win in Ann Arbor translated
• 6:08
Speaker 1: to a win at the locker room.
• 6:09
  Speaker 2: I'll take it.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: I am in a prime position right now. for someone
• 6:12
Speaker 1: who hasn't gone through this before to be a little
• 6:14
Speaker 1: too high on themselves, where somebody comes in patsy on
• 6:16
Speaker 1: the ass and you've shit in their hand. So for me,
• 6:19
Speaker 1: it's let's stay the course, let's stay in the film room.
• 6:22
Speaker 2: What got you here?
• 6:23
Speaker 1: What got you to week two being up this many
• 6:24
Speaker 1: units is just being a student of the game and
• 6:27
Speaker 1: watching over and over again. So that's what I'm focused on.
• 6:29
Speaker 1: I love that, what is it, 11? What am I,
• 6:30
Speaker 1: plus 11? You know my eyes are terrible. I can't see.
• 6:34
Speaker 2: Taylor, you're up 11.44 units. I'm still in the tank. Again, brutal, brutal.
• 6:40
Speaker 2: Week one for Willie C. I'm sitting in negative 5.89. Josh, 6.74.
• 6:46
Speaker 3: Did you and I have the exact same record? We've
• 6:48
Speaker 3: got the exact same record?
• 6:50
Speaker 2: No, not record. You're beating me in units. Oh, I'm
• 6:52
Speaker 2: talking about over the weekend. That's in totality. I had
• 6:56
Speaker 2: a bad first week. It is what it is.
• 6:58
Speaker 3: It's going to be a heated show. Last week, last week.
• 7:02
Speaker 3: When the first quarter was over at the Michigan game,
• 7:05
Speaker 3: I texted you the eyeball emoji because it was kind
• 7:08
Speaker 3: of clear what was starting to happen.
• 7:09
Speaker 2: I think we all felt it.
• 7:11
Speaker 3: But you texted me back.
• 7:12
Speaker 2: What did I say?
• 7:13
Speaker 3: A lot of ball left.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: A lot of ball left.
• 7:14
Speaker 3: A lot of ball left.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: When that run took place, I was rocking my baby.
• 7:19
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 7:20
Speaker 2: Almost woke her up.
• 7:21
Speaker 1: Sat back and got grounded because I knew, like, listen—
• 7:24
Speaker 1: John Mateer, I know the narrative on him right now
• 7:26
Speaker 1: is that he's actually not that great. Everything we've been
• 7:29
Speaker 1: saying for the past year and a half doesn't matter anymore.
• 7:31
Speaker 1: He's not a Heisman guy, but he could strike at
• 7:35
  Speaker 1: any moment.
• 7:35
  Speaker 3: It's in there.
• 7:36
Speaker 1: And they make X plays all the time. So I
• 7:38
Speaker 1: was fired up. Another text exchange we had was, what's
• 7:43
Speaker 1: the environment like in this before the game started? And
• 7:45
Speaker 1: your text to me was, I suggest having a fast start.
• 7:47
  Speaker 2: Yep.
• 7:47
Speaker 1: Because it was, we saw it on our show on Friday.
• 7:51
Speaker 1: that Michigan was in a very fragile state.
• 7:53
Speaker 3: We felt it. We felt it, we knew it. We
• 7:56
Speaker 3: thought we felt it in the building. Then they just
• 7:57
Speaker 3: took the fight to Oklahoma. It turns out there was
• 8:00
Speaker 3: a lot of false confidence on the other side.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm not even convinced that they feel good yet.
• 8:05
Speaker 2: I would agree with that.
• 8:06
Speaker 1: I think we all, from a Michigan standpoint, it's like, okay,
• 8:10
Speaker 1: we know our offense or our defense is always going
• 8:12
Speaker 1: to have us competitive in games. But if you want
• 8:15
Speaker 1: to be a competitive team from a playoff standpoint and further,
• 8:19
Speaker 1: then you need to, the offense has to get better.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: And even when you turn on the film, We got
• 8:24
Speaker 1: to get better in the passing game. Clearly, our running
• 8:26
Speaker 1: backs have to get going. Our offensive line needs to
• 8:28
Speaker 1: strain a little bit more. And then more than anything,
• 8:30
Speaker 1: it's the penalties. Nine for over 100 in penalties. That's just,
• 8:34
Speaker 1: you can't have that. It's going to get you beat.
• 8:35
Speaker 2: Happy to have the win.
• 8:37
Speaker 1: And also, it's great for new coaching staff. Big win early.
• 8:40
Speaker 1: Players are going to buy into the coaching staff. All
• 8:43
Speaker 1: of those things come with it. A snowball effect could happen.
• 8:46
Speaker 1: But there's so much to work on. As a fan,
• 8:48
Speaker 1: I sit there and.
• 8:49
Speaker 2: I'm like, hang on, let me ask you a question.
• 8:50
Speaker 2: Would you say that you're a playoff team right now?
• 8:54
Speaker 2: I would say no. Because all offseason, you talked about,
• 8:59
Speaker 2: I will know what these teams are going to be
• 9:01
  Speaker 2: after week two.
• 9:01
Speaker 1: And I think that is still, I feel better about
• 9:06
Speaker 1: our team as far as the gauntlet of a schedule
• 9:08
Speaker 1: we have in that our defense, barring injuries, or just
• 9:13
Speaker 1: massive mistakes, we are going to be a team that
• 9:15
Speaker 1: is going to keep games close always. For me to
• 9:17
Speaker 1: feel more comfortable, it's like Indiana. We were talking about
• 9:19
Speaker 1: this before the show. Indiana's shown us nothing. That is
• 9:22
Speaker 1: like where are their flaws?
• 9:23
Speaker 2: What do they have?
• 9:24
Speaker 1: They play cupcakes. So you don't really know what they are.
• 9:26
Speaker 1: Oregon you feel more comfortable about, but we know Dan
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: Lanning's a culture guy. So then it's, they're probably going
• 9:31
Speaker 1: to get right against Portland State and then go into
• 9:33
Speaker 1: the Big Ten schedule and continue to grow. And maybe
• 9:36
Speaker 1: that's one of the best things that's happened to them.
• 9:37
Speaker 1: Ohio State was up by 20 points in the fourth quarter.
• 9:40
Speaker 1: against Texas in Austin. So there's all these teams that
• 9:43
Speaker 1: we play. Penn State's also sitting over there. USC's sitting
• 9:45
Speaker 1: over there. All these teams in the Big Ten that
• 9:48
Speaker 1: we don't know who we are yet, like this conference
• 9:50
Speaker 1: doesn't know. So I just need the offense to get better.
• 9:53
Speaker 1: I'll tell you after Iowa. I'll tell you after Iowa.
• 9:58
Speaker 1: As he said all year.
• 9:59
Speaker 2: I'll know after the Iowa game.
• 10:00
  Speaker 3: Game.
• 10:00
Speaker 1: Two weeks from now, we play another top 25 team.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: In Iowa, if we know one thing about that game,
• 10:06
Speaker 1: it's going to be a lot of punting.
• 10:07
Speaker 2: I don't know what the total is. A lot of
• 10:09
  Speaker 2: good defense.
• 10:09
Speaker 1: A lot of good defense is going to take place.
• 10:12
Speaker 1: And it's just who coaches better, who makes the one play.
• 10:16
Speaker 1: So I don't want to turn this into a hole.
• 10:19
Speaker 1: Michigan date the whole time.
• 10:20
Speaker 2: I'm happy with what happened.
• 10:21
Speaker 3: I'm over the moon.
• 10:22
Speaker 1: The birthday party went great. If you guys are wondering
• 10:24
Speaker 1: after some of the boys showed up, it was incredible.
• 10:26
Speaker 1: Vibes were extremely high.
• 10:30
Speaker 2: Onward. You picked against them.
• 10:33
Speaker 3: Whereas you, it locked arm in arm.
• 10:36
  Speaker 2: I did.
• 10:37
Speaker 3: Michigan under. Michigan under.
• 10:39
Speaker 2: My face was on Will's pic. My face was on
• 10:43
  Speaker 2: Will's pic.
• 10:44
Speaker 1: And I said this to you before the show. I've
• 10:46
Speaker 1: said this to you multiple times. I think you handled
• 10:50
Speaker 1: supporting me as much as you can with my team
• 10:53
Speaker 1: while also not just being like ridiculous about it. Like
• 10:57
Speaker 1: you did the best you could given the circumstances of
• 10:59
  Speaker 1: week one.
• 10:59
  Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes.
• 11:05
Speaker 3: You know what story I'm sitting on.
• 11:07
  Speaker 2: No.
• 11:08
Speaker 3: You know what I'm sitting on.
• 11:11
Speaker 2: Hold on, just real quick, real quick.
• 11:13
Speaker 1: I want you to tell a story, but if it
• 11:15
Speaker 1: probably is anything of us going over the pickups we
• 11:17
Speaker 1: did on the bus and then like, oh, this is
• 11:19
Speaker 1: where you guys picked versus who Will picked.
• 11:20
Speaker 2: No, no, no, no. Will picked Oklahoma.
• 11:21
Speaker 3: This is not that. This is not you refusing to
• 11:23
Speaker 3: look Ryan Day in the face. This is none of that. Stop.
• 11:25
Speaker 6: This is worse than that.
• 11:26
Speaker 2: You got to stop with that false narrative.
• 11:28
Speaker 3: Okay. I'm a big enough man to let you tell
• 11:32
Speaker 3: this story if you want to. But if you don't
• 11:33
Speaker 3: want to tell it.
• 11:34
  Speaker 2: I'll tell it. I think it's funny. I think you
• 11:38
Speaker 2: had the perspective of me saying it to you. I
• 11:40
Speaker 2: think it's better if it comes out of your mouth.
• 11:41
Speaker 3: So we're in the volleyball arena Friday, right?
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: Oh.
• 11:46
  Speaker 3: Before the show.
• 11:47
Speaker 2: We got done walking around the building, feeling the vibe
• 11:49
Speaker 2: in the building. Yeah, okay. All right.
• 11:52
Speaker 3: We've seen our set. We've talked to some of the locals.
• 11:55
Speaker 3: We've come back in, and Tom, who kind of spearheads
• 11:58
Speaker 3: the production talk for us before the show, longtime Ohio
• 12:02
Speaker 3: State fan, rips his shirt off before the production meeting starts,
• 12:07
Speaker 3: and he's got a Taylor LeJuan jersey on, and everyone
• 12:10
Speaker 3: goes crazy. And you're hugging him. I think I saw
• 12:13
  Speaker 3: a tear coming. Like everyone's fired up. It's a big
• 12:16
Speaker 3: camaraderie moment. It's like camaraderie fest. And William, he claps too.
• 12:21
Speaker 3: He shows outwardly that he's in full support of this move.
• 12:24
Speaker 3: And then he kind of slinks off into the back.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: And I just happened to be back there and he
• 12:27
Speaker 3: walks up and says, bro, I'm glad he's got Tom
• 12:30
Speaker 3: on his side. No.
• 12:34
Speaker 2: And it was such a good laugh I got out
• 12:36
  Speaker 2: of pay too.
• 12:37
Speaker 3: Yeah. He's still got a full smile on his face.
• 12:42
Speaker 3: The eyes are bulged and he goes, I'm glad he's
• 12:45
Speaker 3: got Tom on his side.
• 12:47
Speaker 2: Celebrating still happening. Oh wow, this is in the midst
• 12:50
Speaker 2: of it. You're watching dead people talk to each other.
• 12:52
Speaker 2: You're still embracing this in the back room. At least
• 12:54
  Speaker 2: he's got Tom.
• 12:55
Speaker 3: I'm glad he's got Tom on his side.
• 12:56
Speaker 2: So I never really had you. You had me on
• 12:58
Speaker 2: the under. That's better than Jerry Maguire. You had me
• 13:03
Speaker 2: on the under and your face was on my pick.
• 13:06
Speaker 2: Like gun to my head, you're not my life. Like
• 13:08
  Speaker 2: I'm going to Oklahoma. 10 times out of 10, I
• 13:10
  Speaker 2: would have lost.
• 13:11
Speaker 3: I would have been dead.
• 13:12
Speaker 2: I would have been shot. I hope you learned a
• 13:15
Speaker 2: valuable lesson. Don't pick against Michigan. What's the... Because I
• 13:20
Speaker 2: still don't feel good about... To be honest, I was
• 13:21
Speaker 2: hoping you'd finish that. I'm being 100% honest. We feel
• 13:26
Speaker 2: good though. Environment was good.
• 13:29
Speaker 6: Can I give a shout out to Pate? Is it
• 13:31
Speaker 6: Friday Night Lions you do?
• 13:32
Speaker 2: Yeah. He did say one of his favorite bets of
• 13:35
Speaker 2: the entire weekend was under 21 and a.
• 13:37
Speaker 6: Half in the first half of Michigan.
• 13:39
Speaker 2: He did. Nailed it and it was beautiful.
• 13:41
  Speaker 3: So thank you.
• 13:41
Speaker 2: Nailed it. Good for us. Good for us.
• 13:43
Speaker 3: Look at the three of us.
• 13:44
Speaker 2: Because Klump came in the chat right away. Yeah, Klump
• 13:47
Speaker 2: came in the chat right away.
• 13:48
Speaker 3: Were you in the live chat?
• 13:49
Speaker 6: Yeah, I was in the live chat. What's your Michigan,
• 13:52
  Speaker 6: Oklahoma thing?
• 13:52
  Speaker 2: Oh, my bad.
• 13:53
Speaker 3: I'll shout you out next time.
• 13:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, Klump's got like six burners. That's why I never know.
• 14:00
  Speaker 2: Week three.
• 14:01
Speaker 1: Not a whole lot of storylines taking place in week three.
• 14:03
Speaker 3: No, nothing much. Really flat this week.
• 14:05
  Speaker 2: It's a dead slate.
• 14:06
Speaker 1: It's a dead slate. Not a whole lot to look into,
• 14:07
Speaker 1: but we have to do a show.
• 14:09
Speaker 3: Did you ever have a lawsuit served against you the
• 14:11
Speaker 3: week before you went into a rivalry game? Because that's
• 14:14
Speaker 3: something that happens at LSU now.
• 14:15
Speaker 2: I have not. No?
• 14:16
Speaker 3: Okay. So, so far, so far, we've got a week
• 14:19
  Speaker 3: of furloughs.
• 14:20
  Speaker 2: I'm big in. I'll be honest. I don't know. I
• 14:21
Speaker 2: didn't know if he was like doing a zinger.
• 14:23
Speaker 1: Oh, did you not know? Did you not know what happened?
• 14:27
Speaker 1: Was it yesterday, correct?
• 14:28
Speaker 3: Yeah. Pete Thamel broke it this morning that Prince Will, Jesse,
• 14:32
Speaker 3: you mind me yelling? Prince Will, you mind me yelling,
• 14:35
Speaker 3: had lawsuit papers served to him in a parking lot
• 14:40
Speaker 3: because of the whole Ole Miss leaving and we don't
• 14:42
Speaker 3: like you leaving and I don't want to get legal
• 14:44
Speaker 3: on you, but he got papers served to him in
• 14:46
Speaker 3: the parking lot. You can tell me, I'll stare back
• 14:47
Speaker 3: at you. Yeah, I actually don't know.
• 14:49
Speaker 2: I don't know how much will happen at Ole Miss.
• 14:52
Speaker 1: Served a player on LSU after he left Ole Miss.
• 14:55
Speaker 3: The week of the game.
• 14:56
Speaker 2: The week that they are playing.
• 14:57
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 14:58
Speaker 2: Suing him for the money that he owes them.
• 15:01
  Speaker 3: Yes.
• 15:01
Speaker 2: Damn. That's what's taking place between. That's crazy. LSU. What?
• 15:07
Speaker 2: I'm just finishing the whole. The chat will know. Go
• 15:11
Speaker 2: off in the comments section. Go off in the comments.
• 15:13
Speaker 2: It's so rare. When you get told the story, you're like, damn,
• 15:16
  Speaker 2: that's crazy.
• 15:16
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 15:19
Speaker 2: So yeah, dude, it's nuts.
• 15:20
Speaker 1: No, they've literally come out publicly and said there's not
• 15:23
Speaker 1: going to be a National Guard in Oxford, but there's
• 15:26
Speaker 1: going to be more police from Alabama, from Louisiana. They've
• 15:30
Speaker 1: gone from usually six guys on horseback to another 19
• 15:32
Speaker 1: guys on horseback. They're expecting riots.
• 15:37
Speaker 2: As they should. Yeah. I mean, it's going to be barbaric.
• 15:40
Speaker 2: There's going to be some Old Testament, an Old Testament
• 15:42
Speaker 2: scene that we're going to have in Oxford this weekend.
• 15:44
Speaker 2: And I love the way Lane Kiffin's handling it.
• 15:47
Speaker 1: I love the fact that he's on a press conference
• 15:50
Speaker 1: and he's like, they won 13 games last year.
• 15:52
Speaker 2: He was the head coach.
• 15:53
Speaker 1: We won seven. There's no pressure on us. There's all
• 15:57
Speaker 1: the pressures on them because they won last year. They
• 15:59
Speaker 1: won more games. And it's like the ultimate spin zone.
• 16:04
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 16:04
Speaker 2: It is the ultimate troll spin zone.
• 16:06
Speaker 3: Everything. They've got two Heisman candidates in the backfield that
• 16:09
  Speaker 3: I recruited.
• 16:10
Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. That I, yeah.
• 16:11
Speaker 1: That I set up to be Heisman candidates. It's, this
• 16:14
Speaker 1: is going to be monumental.
• 16:15
  Speaker 3: It's his wheelhouse.
• 16:16
Speaker 1: This is exactly where Lane Kiffin is, where.
• 16:19
Speaker 2: He needs to be right now.
• 16:20
Speaker 3: He would do this every week if he could.
• 16:22
Speaker 1: I think that's his goal, is to create these kind
• 16:23
Speaker 1: of narratives throughout every single week so every school hates him,
• 16:26
Speaker 1: but the school he's at.
• 16:27
Speaker 2: Because LSU can't feel safe either. If you look at
• 16:29
  Speaker 2: his track record.
• 16:30
Speaker 3: And hey, that's what he's going for. He's well on
• 16:32
  Speaker 3: his way.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: He is well on his way. This football season, whether
• 16:35
Speaker 2: you're buying tickets, booking travel, or shopping for team gear,
• 16:39
Speaker 2: protect your pocket with Visa. Tapping to pay for a
• 16:43
Speaker 2: bootleg jersey without checking the card? Not a pro move.
• 16:46
Speaker 2: Tapping to pay with Visa? That's a pro move. Visa
• 16:50
Speaker 2: runs more than 500 security checks to help identify fraud
• 16:53
Speaker 2: before transactions are approved. helping protect your payment all the
• 16:57
Speaker 2: way to the end zone so you can focus on
• 16:59
Speaker 2: other things, like whether boneless wings are actually wings. Reaching
• 17:03
Speaker 2: for your card with five fingers covered in buffalo sauce?
• 17:06
Speaker 2: That's a fumble waiting to happen. Not a pro move.
• 17:09
Speaker 2: Tapping to pay with Visa? That's a pro move. Because
• 17:12
Speaker 2: with Visa, you're not responsible for any charges you didn't make.
• 17:15
Speaker 2: so you can save your defensive energy for something else,
• 17:18
Speaker 2: like keeping the boy Taylor away from your nachos. This season,
• 17:22
Speaker 2: a great defensive play is paying with Visa, the most
• 17:25
Speaker 2: trusted way to pay for football fans everywhere. You guys
• 17:29
Speaker 2: are fired up about the Gravely Game of the Week
• 17:30
Speaker 2: right now. I know. We'll save. Keep it safe. We'll save.
• 17:34
Speaker 2: We'll buckle it up. We honestly have a low-key slate
• 17:37
Speaker 2: upon us. The boys busing and paid on campus will
• 17:40
Speaker 2: be at Auburn on Friday afternoon. 2 to 3 p.m.
• 17:44
Speaker 2: Eastern time. Come join the boys. Come to the show.
• 17:46
Speaker 2: Come support the fellas. We got Houston at Texas Tech
• 17:49
Speaker 2: on Friday night. SMU at Louisville. Mississippi State at South Carolina. Well,
• 17:53
Speaker 2: I'm excited to see where we all go there. That's
• 17:55
Speaker 2: a fireworks game. It's a fireworks game. Fireworks game. We
• 17:59
Speaker 2: got a guy in here who rides the cocks, man.
• 18:02
Speaker 2: Rides them hard. I didn't even mean to say it.
• 18:04
Speaker 2: I didn't even mean to do that. But every year
• 18:06
Speaker 2: he rides them hard.
• 18:07
  Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 18:08
Speaker 2: It's football season. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. What game would you
• 18:12
Speaker 2: like to start with? Let's go Florida-Auburn. Okay. The game
• 18:15
Speaker 2: we're going to this Friday. Yeah, let's go Florida-Auburn.
• 18:17
Speaker 1: First time in Auburn. Heard how haunted it is, how
• 18:20
Speaker 1: scary it is. I'm personally very fired up for the game.
• 18:22
Speaker 1: Two coaches that are seeing each other for the first time.
• 18:25
Speaker 1: One coach that was supposed to maybe go to Auburn
• 18:28
Speaker 1: ends up going to Florida.
• 18:29
Speaker 3: You want to go down that road, huh?
• 18:31
Speaker 2: I mean, is that kind of... Do you think there's anything.
• 18:32
Speaker 1: I'm not fully versed in that storyline.
• 18:34
Speaker 3: It's proper context. But.
• 18:36
Speaker 1: Auburn was trying, they were both essentially trying to get Summerall.
• 18:39
Speaker 3: You want me to tell you what happened?
• 18:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I was going to paint a picture, but
• 18:41
  Speaker 2: go ahead.
• 18:42
Speaker 3: Hugh Freeze was gone. John Summerall was all but a
• 18:44
Speaker 3: lot for the Auburn job. Administratively, they really screwed the
• 18:48
Speaker 3: landing up and they had to pull the nose up
• 18:51
Speaker 3: at the last minute, do a run around or in
• 18:53
Speaker 3: coaching terms, They had to move on to their second
• 18:55
Speaker 3: option because Summerall said, yeah, I'm good. And then Florida
• 18:57
Speaker 3: hired John Summerall. And then Alex Golish looked locked in
• 19:00
Speaker 3: for Arkansas. But just between the three of us, no
• 19:02
Speaker 3: one else listening, I don't think Golish was going to
• 19:04
Speaker 3: go to Arkansas. Ever. I think he was going to
• 19:06
Speaker 3: choose USF over Arkansas. And if anyone's watching Arkansas right now,
• 19:10
Speaker 3: you kind of see why. But then the Auburn job's open.
• 19:14
Speaker 3: And Alex Golish takes the Auburn job. And kind of
• 19:17
Speaker 3: like with the Penn State thing, how they– Sort of
• 19:20
Speaker 3: low-key screwed up the process for the better part of
• 19:22
Speaker 3: 50 days. Penn State ends up with Matt Campbell, so
• 19:25
Speaker 3: it's a big win. Auburn ended up with Alex Golish,
• 19:27
Speaker 3: which is also a big win. But that's for five
• 19:30
Speaker 3: years from now for us to dissect. As for this weekend,
• 19:33
Speaker 3: the guy you got is facing the guy that you
• 19:37
Speaker 3: thought you had, who's got family ties to Auburn. But
• 19:41
Speaker 3: who's at a press conference in Gainesville saying anyone pulling
• 19:43
Speaker 3: for Auburn when Florida puts food on our table is
• 19:46
Speaker 3: dead to me. And then Golish is back in Lee County,
• 19:49
Speaker 3: which is where Auburn is. saying Golish said we're friends
• 19:51
Speaker 3: or Summerall said we're friends not this week we're not
• 19:55
Speaker 3: and then people are calling it performative because I don't
• 19:57
Speaker 3: think people understand the spirit of competition spirit of competition
• 20:00
  Speaker 3: is beautiful.
• 20:00
Speaker 2: Gotta be your goal is to you gotta be yeah
• 20:03
Speaker 2: this has to be a personal feeling like you're you're
• 20:06
Speaker 2: coaching against a guy that Auburn wanted yeah You're basically
• 20:10
Speaker 2: seeing the almost X.
• 20:12
Speaker 1: They ran to and they said no, so they settled
• 20:14
  Speaker 1: for you.
• 20:15
Speaker 2: And Florida looks good right now.
• 20:16
Speaker 1: And we'll see it in five years. We'll know the
• 20:19
Speaker 1: true result of all three of these coaches, four of
• 20:21
  Speaker 1: these coaches.
• 20:21
  Speaker 3: Here's what I think.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: This week is a big like, it's, you know, it's
• 20:25
Speaker 1: what have you done for me lately? That's what sports
• 20:27
Speaker 1: is all about. So this is where they can all
• 20:28
  Speaker 1: plant their flag.
• 20:29
Speaker 3: What I mean when I say we'll see in five years,
• 20:31
Speaker 3: which I've said before on the show, is I think
• 20:33
Speaker 3: Matt Campbell and Alex Golish will both win. And I
• 20:36
Speaker 3: think that some people who did everything to screw up
• 20:39
Speaker 3: the hiring process will end up getting credited when they
• 20:42
Speaker 3: shouldn't be credited. But that's neither here nor there. I
• 20:46
Speaker 3: do have a question about the game. Florida's favored by
• 20:49
Speaker 3: two and a half. Do you think the right team's favored?
• 20:53
Speaker 3: Because if you add on home field, this is basically
• 20:56
Speaker 3: FanDuel telling you Florida's like four and a half or
• 20:59
Speaker 3: five points better than Auburn. And so far they've played
• 21:01
Speaker 3: a grand total of FAU and Campbell. Campbell's mascot is what? Exactly.
• 21:07
Speaker 3: No one knows anything about Florida. The camels, by the way,
• 21:09
Speaker 3: it's the camels. No one knows anything about Florida. Now
• 21:13
Speaker 3: what we do know about Auburn is they played Baylor
• 21:15
Speaker 3: and it was really clunky. Some of us got emotional
• 21:18
Speaker 3: and got chastised for being emotional watching that game towards
• 21:20
  Speaker 3: the end.
• 21:20
Speaker 2: But that was a tight game.
• 21:23
Speaker 3: So what would you rather know? Would you rather know
• 21:25
Speaker 3: that you have some flaws and inefficiencies, but find out
• 21:28
Speaker 3: in a win in week one, Or would you rather
• 21:31
Speaker 3: know nothing about yourself except that you've got a brand
• 21:34
Speaker 3: new quarterback that started four total games in his career
• 21:39
Speaker 3: and a brand new coordinator and a whole brand new
• 21:42
Speaker 3: staff and we're going on the road for the first
• 21:43
Speaker 3: time against a team that learned a lot about itself
• 21:46
Speaker 3: in week one and now gets to welcome us into
• 21:48
Speaker 3: their backyard with a quarterback who, throwing motion problems or not,
• 21:53
Speaker 3: is starting his 35th career game and we're an underdog?
• 21:58
  Speaker 3: Auburn's the underdog?
• 21:59
Speaker 2: I don't want to see Byron Brown throw on the
• 22:02
Speaker 2: perimeter with that throwing motion. It scares me every time.
• 22:05
Speaker 2: Somebody's going to take that shit to the house. Now,
• 22:07
Speaker 2: I do think he can dial downfield and operate the offense.
• 22:12
Speaker 2: He is a dynamic in the running game. But when
• 22:14
Speaker 2: he throws on the perimeter, I hold my breath every time.
• 22:16
Speaker 2: He almost got taken to the house last week against
• 22:18
Speaker 2: whoever they played. Yeah, it was like Southern Miss.
• 22:22
Speaker 3: He was picked off three times in week one. We
• 22:24
Speaker 3: watched that. All of us have watched Auburn play at
• 22:28
Speaker 3: least one game this year. Does it seem like everything's
• 22:30
  Speaker 3: a little slow?
• 22:32
  Speaker 2: Yes.
• 22:32
Speaker 3: A little non-rhythmic? You've watched them at USF.
• 22:35
Speaker 2: I was thinking, yeah, as far as tempo goes, one
• 22:37
Speaker 2: and two in the country. I haven't felt that whatsoever.
• 22:40
  Speaker 2: I don't know what's... I don't know how they're trying
• 22:44
Speaker 2: to get the ball going. I like them at the
• 22:46
Speaker 2: line of scrimmage, though. Like when you ask about, do
• 22:49
Speaker 2: you feel like the right team is favored? I think
• 22:50
Speaker 2: the right team's favored. I think Florida, they look incredible offensively.
• 22:54
Speaker 2: A lot of explosive. A lot of athletes. Their offense
• 22:57
Speaker 2: can go. We were joking on the bus this week.
• 22:59
Speaker 2: This offense is floor offense. They've got to go. They've
• 23:02
Speaker 2: got to go. They have athletes everywhere. It was Dallas Wilson. Yep.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: Vernon Brown. Studs, like number one, Vernon, he's their gadget guy.
• 23:12
Speaker 2: Six is an athlete. They have an athlete at quarterback
• 23:15
Speaker 2: with Aaron Filo. Their running back is good. I'm not
• 23:18
Speaker 2: in love with their line of scrimmage. I'm not in
• 23:21
Speaker 2: love with their front seven on defense. But I think
• 23:26
Speaker 2: when you look at is the right team favorite, I
• 23:28
Speaker 2: think there's a lot of excitement around Florida right now.
• 23:30
Speaker 2: I like Auburn. I think Auburn is going to be
• 23:33
Speaker 2: able to run the football on this team. I think
• 23:35
Speaker 2: this is a front seven that Florida hasn't seen, close
• 23:39
Speaker 2: to seeing. We can talk about what Auburn's going to
• 23:41
Speaker 2: be if they're going to win over six and a
• 23:42
Speaker 2: half or seven and a half games this year all
• 23:43
Speaker 2: we want. But the defense is the top defense in
• 23:46
Speaker 2: the country, especially in the SEC. They fly to the football.
• 23:49
Speaker 2: And Byron Brown, if they can control the line of scrimmage,
• 23:51
Speaker 2: I think they can bleed him out a little bit.
• 23:53
  Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to be a shootout by
• 23:54
Speaker 2: any means. If I lean anywhere on total, it's the under.
• 23:57
Speaker 2: But I like Auburn. I think Auburn, with the three
• 24:00
Speaker 2: turnovers that they had, Byron's just going to have to
• 24:02
Speaker 2: protect the football. But if he does that, I like
• 24:04
Speaker 2: Auburn in the sand. I'm going to go confidence level three.
• 24:07
Speaker 2: I'm going to go three units, and I'm going to
• 24:09
Speaker 2: go Auburn money line. Auburn Moneyline. Wow. That's a nice pull. Okay.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: I'm going to go Auburn Moneyline. Do you agree with
• 24:15
Speaker 2: Will Compton on Auburn?
• 24:17
Speaker 3: I agree that Florida hasn't played anybody. And I agree
• 24:21
Speaker 3: that Vernell Brown and they're getting Singleton back this week
• 24:24
Speaker 3: who played at Auburn last year and was completely wasted.
• 24:27
Speaker 3: Not in terms of alcohol. Literally, they didn't use him
• 24:30
Speaker 3: because they couldn't get him the ball. Dallas Wilson, Jaden
• 24:33
Speaker 3: Ball may be the best tailback in the league for
• 24:35
Speaker 3: all we know, but it's about whether I can distribute
• 24:38
Speaker 3: the ball to them or not. Otherwise, they're just wasted.
• 24:40
Speaker 3: And for all the trust that people have, including me long-term,
• 24:44
Speaker 3: in Buster Faulkner and Aaron Filo, that combo coming in
• 24:47
Speaker 3: from Georgia Tech. You see how bad Georgia Tech is
• 24:49
Speaker 3: this year without them. Obviously, that's a good combo. That's
• 24:52
Speaker 3: a good package. I'm just so fresh. off of watching
• 24:55
Speaker 3: Oklahoma come into Michigan with sky-high confidence and get totally
• 25:00
Speaker 3: rattled and everything that they thought they knew about themselves
• 25:03
Speaker 3: and everything that some of us thought we knew about
• 25:05
Speaker 3: Oklahoma gets thrown in the ditch. I'm so fresh off
• 25:09
Speaker 3: of that that I'm really cautious about this. And I
• 25:12
Speaker 3: think there's a lot to be said. Byron Brown, even
• 25:15
Speaker 3: with some of his faults and flaws, The experience factor
• 25:19
Speaker 3: combined with the home field factor combined with so much
• 25:23
Speaker 3: newness at Florida, I think it's too early to respect
• 25:25
Speaker 3: them to the point where they're favored on the road.
• 25:27
Speaker 3: So yes, I agree with William, two units for me,
• 25:31
Speaker 3: but Auburn, I'll take a money line too.
• 25:34
Speaker 2: Two units, three units.
• 25:37
Speaker 1: The scariest part about this game to me is where
• 25:39
Speaker 1: it's being played. I've never been to Auburn, I'm excited
• 25:42
Speaker 1: to see it for the first time, but hearing how
• 25:43
Speaker 1: haunted it is, and even Nick Saban, who's the greatest
• 25:46
Speaker 1: college coach of all time, the way he talks.
• 25:47
  Speaker 2: About it.
• 25:49
Speaker 1: Gives me some unease. Another thing that gives me unease
• 25:53
Speaker 1: about Florida is Auburn, between these two teams, is tested
• 25:57
Speaker 1: the most. I don't know how good Baylor is, but
• 25:58
Speaker 1: they still had to get up for a game in
• 26:00
Speaker 1: week one and go against competent competition. They didn't look
• 26:03
Speaker 1: great during it. Byron Brown, I had sky-high expectations for him.
• 26:07
Speaker 1: I know the Graveyard also had sky-high expectations. Don't love
• 26:10
Speaker 1: the throwing motion. They do want to play in the
• 26:12
Speaker 1: perimeter that Will was talking about, where they kind of
• 26:14
Speaker 1: dump it out and let their.
• 26:17
  Speaker 2: the sorry, Cody.
• 26:18
Speaker 1: Was started doing this and I got distracted. I didn't
• 26:20
Speaker 1: get to take the, the supplements that will took this morning.
• 26:23
Speaker 1: So he's operating, but no notes, no notes. Byron Brown,
• 26:27
Speaker 1: he'll throw it off to the perimeter and he, they
• 26:29
Speaker 1: expect their guys to, you know, go get yards. I
• 26:32
Speaker 1: just don't see with how aggressive the secondary in Florida,
• 26:35
Speaker 1: how they're not going to challenge that and make Byron
• 26:36
Speaker 1: Brown beat him through the year.
• 26:38
Speaker 2: He can do it.
• 26:39
Speaker 1: Like you see Southern miss, which, you know, we, you
• 26:41
Speaker 1: can say what you want about college football, Southern miss.
• 26:43
Speaker 1: Like they, I think they had two total guys in
• 26:45
Speaker 1: their roster. at the end of the transfer portal last year,
• 26:47
Speaker 1: that it's not a real D1 school. No disrespect to them.
• 26:50
Speaker 1: It's just the reality of where we live. You see
• 26:53
Speaker 1: the flashes in Byron Brown. He gets one call back
• 26:56
Speaker 1: from holding, then he runs 40 yards, breaks multiple tackles,
• 26:58
Speaker 1: he gets a touchdown, he throws it deep to number four,
• 27:01
Speaker 1: right in the breadbasket on a vert. That one's called incomplete.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: I just don't trust that he's not going to give
• 27:06
Speaker 1: Florida the ball. You brought up the trenches. People are
• 27:09
Speaker 1: down on Florida's offensive.
• 27:10
  Speaker 2: Line, but I.
• 27:12
  Speaker 1: I know they haven't been challenged, but I see a
• 27:14
Speaker 1: group of guys, five guys that are going in the
• 27:16
Speaker 1: same direction to the same people with the same technique,
• 27:19
Speaker 1: showing me that they're well coached. They haven't had a
• 27:21
Speaker 1: lot of penalties. They haven't had a lot of turnovers.
• 27:23
Speaker 1: Philo's only had one in the two games. And then
• 27:26
Speaker 1: you said that little running back, Jaden Ball, is good.
• 27:30
Speaker 1: Then you said might be the best. I think he is.
• 27:33
Speaker 1: I'm in that camp where I think Jaden Ball is.
• 27:36
Speaker 1: with let's say the offense line is slightly above average
• 27:40
Speaker 1: to average. When DJ Durkin, who's going to bring pressure,
• 27:43
Speaker 1: especially up the middle during the game, his vision is incredible.
• 27:46
Speaker 1: He can stop on a dime and turn things into
• 27:49
  Speaker 1: X plays. I don't think Philo has to be a
• 27:52
Speaker 1: hero in this game. I think he has to just
• 27:56
Speaker 1: take what the defense gives him. He's going to be
• 27:58
Speaker 1: put under pressure. I think he's an effective runner. I
• 28:01
Speaker 1: just like the operation that Florida's had up until this point.
• 28:04
Speaker 1: You can't judge them based on competition, but it's how
• 28:06
Speaker 1: they have operated as a team.
• 28:08
Speaker 2: You judged Southern Miss on competition. Like Florida's won against
• 28:11
Speaker 2: a couple of Montessori schools.
• 28:12
Speaker 1: Southern Miss is, it's like, you know, you take some
• 28:15
Speaker 1: of our audience and put them in uniforms.
• 28:17
Speaker 2: And it's like, that's kind of a shot at our
• 28:19
Speaker 2: crowd who showed up for this support. Hold up the sign, Jack.
• 28:22
Speaker 2: Do we see any D1 football?
• 28:24
Speaker 1: I'm saying the talent level of Southern Miss is not
• 28:28
Speaker 1: there at all. Auburn didn't get it going. till later
• 28:33
Speaker 1: because they bite themselves in the ass. So Florida, it's like,
• 28:37
Speaker 1: I have to watch the film of who they play
• 28:39
Speaker 1: against and they play FAU, who is their best competition
• 28:42
Speaker 1: up to that point. I'm I think where Auburn has
• 28:44
Speaker 1: a huge edge, I'm not high on their offensive line,
• 28:46
  Speaker 1: but I'm even lower on Florida's defensive line. I don't
• 28:49
Speaker 1: think their defensive line is. very elusive. They're not slippery.
• 28:53
Speaker 1: They're more like magnets to offensive linemen. They kind of
• 28:55
Speaker 1: stick to blocks. I think they'll do okay in the
• 28:57
Speaker 1: run game because I like their linebackers quite a bit.
• 28:59
Speaker 1: But as far as like rushing the passer, they're going
• 29:02
Speaker 1: to have to bring one or two extra. Philo, fourth
• 29:04
Speaker 1: start ever, but he's had the same offensive coordinator who
• 29:06
Speaker 1: came up from Georgia Tech with him. I like that continuity.
• 29:09
Speaker 1: I love Jaden Ball. I love one. I love six.
• 29:13
Speaker 1: I just think there's, at the end of the day,
• 29:15
Speaker 1: there's way more talent on Florida than there is Auburn.
• 29:18
Speaker 1: They've played cleaner against lesser competition, which is what you
• 29:21
Speaker 1: kind of need to check the box at this point.
• 29:23
Speaker 1: So I'm going to take Florida. I'm going to take
• 29:25
Speaker 1: them plus the points, and I'll go two units on that.
• 29:28
Speaker 1: That's how I feel. I like Florida in this game.
• 29:32
Speaker 6: Southern Miss did make a bowl game last year.
• 29:34
Speaker 2: Southern Miss also had two guys on the roster after
• 29:37
Speaker 2: the transfer portal took place. And I'm not saying I'm
• 29:40
Speaker 2: low on their offensive line because you were kind of
• 29:43
Speaker 2: educating me on them knowing what they're doing, playing hard,
• 29:45
Speaker 2: like all of this stuff. I just, when I'm watching it,
• 29:48
Speaker 2: I just don't see them moving the line of scrimmage
• 29:51
Speaker 2: where Auburn has got a tough front seven. And you
• 29:54
Speaker 2: talk about Aaron Filo, too. All the question marks with
• 29:58
Speaker 2: Byron Brown, like he's still 4,000 total yards of offense
• 30:02
Speaker 2: his last couple seasons. Like the dude is, his evidence
• 30:05
Speaker 2: is there that he is a guy who can play
• 30:07
Speaker 2: well in this system. And he's good on the ground.
• 30:11
Speaker 2: And they go against Baylor. Baylor had, like you were
• 30:13
Speaker 2: talking about it going into week one. One thing that
• 30:16
Speaker 2: Aranda was high on was their defensive line. And they
• 30:19
Speaker 2: might not have had the best game running the ball,
• 30:21
Speaker 2: but 23 was still averaging five a carry. Like they just,
• 30:24
Speaker 2: they turned the ball over three times. And Aaron Filo too,
• 30:26
Speaker 2: fourth career start. When you watch both of those games,
• 30:30
Speaker 2: he had two third down plays. He had two third
• 30:33
Speaker 2: downs in the first game and three in the second game.
• 30:35
Speaker 2: He hasn't been stressed. He hasn't been tested. They have
• 30:39
Speaker 2: the athletes. They've just out-athleted guys. They have a lot
• 30:42
Speaker 2: of explosive plays. But again, it's like when you have
• 30:45
Speaker 2: a stacked defense like Auburn does, I'm excited to see
• 30:48
Speaker 2: Aaron Filo. Is he? Because he looks like a good athlete.
• 30:50
Speaker 2: He looks scrappy. He's accurate. He can do all the things.
• 30:53
Speaker 2: But he hasn't been under any pressure. He hasn't had
• 30:56
Speaker 2: to go out there and win because they got the
• 30:57
Speaker 2: twos in in the second half. So you don't have
• 30:59
Speaker 2: a lot of like, hey, let's watch him on this
• 31:01
Speaker 2: third down that they got to have right He just
• 31:03
Speaker 2: hasn't been in those situations. And he'll be in a
• 31:05
Speaker 2: lot of those third down situations against Auburn. Yeah.
• 31:08
Speaker 1: So a couple of things you said. The offensive line.
• 31:12
Speaker 1: Are they the world beaters? I think that's to be determined.
• 31:14
Speaker 1: The answer is probably not. Buster Faulkner, the offensive coordinator,
• 31:17
Speaker 1: what I think he does a great job in the
• 31:19
Speaker 1: run game is he gets these, which Auburn is a
• 31:22
Speaker 1: penetrating defense. gets them to run East and West with
• 31:24
Speaker 1: their outside zone game. Cause Jaden Baugh has a great
• 31:26
Speaker 1: job of running outside zone. So they'll get on their,
• 31:29
Speaker 1: you know, outside zone scheme, Wanda, Force, Zorro type of runs,
• 31:34
Speaker 1: getting the defense to run East to West. And then
• 31:36
Speaker 1: once they get them less penetrating, all of a sudden
• 31:39
Speaker 1: they're hitting a gap scheme down. So it's having the
• 31:42
Speaker 1: offensive line play as a cohesive unit, but it's also
• 31:45
Speaker 1: scheming them into advantageous situations, which regardless of the competition
• 31:50
Speaker 1: they're going against, Buster's done that. Um, And then the
• 31:53
Speaker 1: run game is everything. Like Philo, 50% of his passes
• 31:56
Speaker 1: have come out of the play action. So for Florida
• 31:58
Speaker 1: to be successful, they have to run the ball really well.
• 32:01
Speaker 1: I think they're going to do that against this very
• 32:03
Speaker 1: aggressive defense. There's going to be splash phase. There's going
• 32:06
  Speaker 1: to be TFLs. That's Durkin's defense. But I think there's
• 32:09
Speaker 1: going to be holes for a ball to exploit. And
• 32:12
Speaker 1: that is where I think you start to get guys
• 32:14
Speaker 1: to come down a little bit more. That's where the
• 32:16
Speaker 1: shots are at. And then that's where you get athlete
• 32:18
Speaker 1: versus athlete. I'm taking Florida.
• 32:19
  Speaker 2: Josh Pate.
• 32:21
Speaker 3: I still believe everything I said about Auburn, but listening
• 32:24
Speaker 3: to you really ignited a new belief in my mind
• 32:27
Speaker 3: that no one could have made a better case for
• 32:29
Speaker 3: under 53 and a half than the three of us
• 32:32
Speaker 3: combined just did on this show. So not only do
• 32:35
Speaker 3: I want to change my pick on this game to
• 32:37
Speaker 3: under 53 and a half, I want to hit the table.
• 32:40
Speaker 2: On under 53 and a half. Wow. Five units on
• 32:43
  Speaker 2: the under.
• 32:46
  Speaker 6: Under 53 and a half.
• 32:46
Speaker 2: You want to do something too. I know, he kind
• 32:49
Speaker 2: of excites you. Long show. Long show. Long season. What
• 32:54
Speaker 2: was the straw that broke the camel's back on that?
• 32:57
Speaker 3: There's just so many different scenarios for the crowbar theory
• 33:00
Speaker 3: to be in play here for either offense to grind
• 33:03
Speaker 3: to a halt. You made the case for Florida, really
• 33:06
Speaker 3: we all kind of did, of maybe it clicks, but
• 33:08
Speaker 3: we don't know, maybe it doesn't. And if you've had
• 33:10
  Speaker 3: a lot of explosivity, if you've out-athleted people, And that's
• 33:13
Speaker 3: where chunks of your yardage have come from so far.
• 33:16
Speaker 3: Home field plus DJ Durkin could grind that to a halt.
• 33:19
Speaker 3: And if you have to sustain drives, if you've got
• 33:21
  Speaker 3: to do 11, 12 plays a couple of times, I
• 33:23
Speaker 3: don't know that you can do that. And then on
• 33:24
Speaker 3: the flip side, Byron Brown, all the yardage, all the stats,
• 33:28
Speaker 3: like the 4,000 yard season, stuff like that, it comes
• 33:32
Speaker 3: against a level of competition. When he's faced the increased
• 33:36
Speaker 3: level of competition, the production hasn't scaled. It's been really ugly.
• 33:39
Speaker 3: They've actually like they beat Florida last year. It wasn't
• 33:42
Speaker 3: because of offense. And so there's two ways in my
• 33:45
Speaker 3: mind where these teams kind of grind to a halt.
• 33:47
Speaker 3: And if I throw all of that into the same pot,
• 33:50
Speaker 3: I think 53 and a half is way too high
• 33:51
  Speaker 3: a number.
• 33:53
Speaker 2: All right, real quick. Lucy, bam. That's my go-to. Lucy
• 33:57

• 34:04
Speaker 2: doesn't matter. These boys get the job done. They go
• 34:07

• 34:33
Speaker 2: the episode. You got me wanting to smack the table.
• 34:36
Speaker 1: Long season, long season, long season. You got me two
• 34:39
Speaker 1: for Florida minus two and a half, two units? All right,
• 34:43
Speaker 1: Ryan Nolan said yes.
• 34:44
  Speaker 3: Okay, hey.
• 34:45
Speaker 2: Great move right there, by the way. Thank you, strong move.
• 34:47
Speaker 2: That was a great move. Yeah, strong move. Houston at
• 34:49
Speaker 2: Texas Tech. Friday. Friday night game. Texas Tech is favored
• 34:53
Speaker 2: in this game by seven and a half. I want
• 34:54
Speaker 2: to say the line opened at what, nine and a half? Yep.
• 34:56
Speaker 2: Now it's moved down or ten and a half. The
• 34:59
  Speaker 2: over-under in total is 52 and a half. Guys, I'm
• 35:02
Speaker 2: going to be honest. I don't know what to do
• 35:04
Speaker 2: in this game. So I'm going to need one of
• 35:07
Speaker 2: you to talk me into something. One of us to
• 35:09
Speaker 2: say something. Maybe somebody from the stands to just yell
• 35:11
Speaker 2: something at the end of their presentations to say, take this.
• 35:14
Speaker 2: I don't know what to do in this game. I'm not.
• 35:17
Speaker 2: I was watching their tape yesterday. Oregon State, number one.
• 35:22
Speaker 2: They tested both of these. That quarterback's nice. Yeah. That quarterback,
• 35:26
Speaker 2: he's nice. Number two is salty back there. I'm not.
• 35:31
Speaker 2: It'll be interesting to see how they approach this game
• 35:33
Speaker 2: offensively and getting Castellanos more involved in a competitive level.
• 35:39
Speaker 2: Not like a complimentary, well, Hammond's our guy here and
• 35:41
Speaker 2: Castellanos comes in for these situations. But I like, Hammond
• 35:45
Speaker 2: doesn't have a lot of velocity on the ball. I
• 35:47
Speaker 2: don't know if that has to do with him coming
• 35:49
Speaker 2: back off of his ACL offensively. I'm just not in
• 35:51
Speaker 2: love with what I'm seeing offensively. I wanted to sit
• 35:53
Speaker 2: there and watch the tape and find the optimism that
• 35:56
Speaker 2: Texas Tech is going to not turn it around, but
• 35:58
Speaker 2: turn it around in the public sense of people are
• 36:00
Speaker 2: kind of low on them right now. But I don't know.
• 36:04
  Speaker 2: I don't know what to do. I don't know what
• 36:06
Speaker 2: to do and I'm conflicted because I love me some
• 36:08
Speaker 2: Joey Maguire. That line was at six and a half yesterday,
• 36:11
Speaker 2: was it? Yes. God, that breaks my heart because I
• 36:14
Speaker 2: loved it. I love that line of six and a half.
• 36:16
Speaker 2: Seven and a half is a little more nerve-wracking.
• 36:18
Speaker 3: You're going to buy the point?
• 36:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, he's going to buy your point. Oh, I forgot. Yeah,
• 36:21
Speaker 2: I forgot we're allowed to do whatever we want. I
• 36:24
Speaker 2: think you're right with Castellanos.
• 36:26
Speaker 1: Castellanos, I think, needs to be more a part of
• 36:28
Speaker 1: their game plan. He's a guy that just athletically, like
• 36:31
Speaker 1: when you're not showing how competitive your team, or not
• 36:35
Speaker 1: showing that you're above and beyond the number one team
• 36:39
Speaker 1: in the Big 12, you need to have a little
• 36:41
Speaker 1: bit of a spark. I think Hammond is a stud.
• 36:43
  Speaker 1: I think he's a great football player. But I'm not
• 36:46
Speaker 1: so sure he's not, you know, he's maybe 70% coming
• 36:48
Speaker 1: off that knee. You see him in the drop back.
• 36:50
  Speaker 1: It's a lot of, it's not a smooth drop back.
• 36:53
Speaker 1: It's a lot of hopping. And when he goes to throw,
• 36:55
Speaker 1: he's not pushing off that right leg a lot. And
• 36:57
Speaker 1: you see it a lot of the way his passes die.
• 37:00
Speaker 1: And I think Texas State needs to really establish a
• 37:03
Speaker 1: run game. against Houston. I think Castellanos is the guy
• 37:06
Speaker 1: to get that done. I think they have more talent
• 37:07
Speaker 1: to get that done. But then the quarterback on Houston,
• 37:11
Speaker 1: or the team in general, last two games, they've had
• 37:14
  Speaker 1: 1,100 total yards. Connor Wagman, I think he's a good
• 37:17
Speaker 1: ball player. But I think for Houston to be successful
• 37:21
Speaker 1: in this game, they're going to have to run it.
• 37:23
Speaker 1: And Texas Tech, as bad as they've been against the past,
• 37:26
Speaker 1: they've been incredible against the run. They've held teams to
• 37:29
Speaker 1: 72 yards on average, 74 yards in the last two games.
• 37:32
Speaker 1: I just think when Houston's going to have to throw
• 37:35
Speaker 1: their way into a win here or throw them into 7.5,
• 37:37
Speaker 1: it's not going to work out for them. The talent
• 37:41
Speaker 1: between Houston and Texas Tech, I think, even though people
• 37:43
Speaker 1: are saying the Big 12, the margin has gotten closer
• 37:46
Speaker 1: for who could win. It's gone from about here to there.
• 37:49
Speaker 1: There's still a wide gap, and I think it is
• 37:51
Speaker 1: Texas Tech. They just haven't played the way they need
• 37:52
Speaker 1: to yet. So I'm going to take Texas Tech.
• 37:54
  Speaker 2: Plus 7.5 here. Minus 7.5? Minus 7.5.
• 37:55
Speaker 1: I'm going to give you 6.5. And I'll put four
• 38:02
  Speaker 1: units on that.
• 38:03
Speaker 2: I'm going to buy mine. I'm going to put a
• 38:04
Speaker 2: little more of my units. I like Texas tech. I
• 38:07
  Speaker 2: like Joey McGuire.
• 38:08
Speaker 1: I think, um, the defense giving up a hundred or
• 38:10
Speaker 1: 413 yards through the air against Oregon state is like
• 38:13
Speaker 1: a massive wake up call for them to where they
• 38:16
Speaker 1: need to play better. They bring a bunch of transfer
• 38:17
Speaker 1: guys in for Jacob Rodriguez. And, um, I'm, I'm forgetting
• 38:21
Speaker 1: the name, but the first round pick for the jets,
• 38:23
Speaker 1: they have a lot of productivity and that's it.
• 38:25
Speaker 2: David Bailey. Thank you. And that front seven, um, But
• 38:30
Speaker 2: it's time to go now. Now we go. You've got
• 38:32
Speaker 2: to go. You've got to go. Texas Tech does have
• 38:35
  Speaker 2: to go.
• 38:35
Speaker 1: But I do think you bump up Castellanos' snaps. Probably
• 38:40
Speaker 1: 10 or 15 extra snaps. And just to try and
• 38:43
Speaker 1: get the run game going. Because you said they're going
• 38:45
Speaker 1: to have to establish a run. And I'm thinking, the
• 38:47
Speaker 1: stuff I've watched, are they going to be able to
• 38:49
Speaker 1: establish a run game?
• 38:51
  Speaker 3: Texas Tech?
• 38:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm asking if they'll even be able to do
• 38:55
Speaker 2: that without adding the piece of Castellanos.
• 38:57
Speaker 3: See that number? 3.3 yards per carry against Oregon State?
• 39:03
Speaker 3: It's not good enough. It's not good enough for Will
• 39:06
Speaker 3: Hammond to find balance, for them to have balance in
• 39:09
  Speaker 3: play calling. It's not good enough. I don't think it'll
• 39:12
Speaker 3: be much better Friday night. You know, you remember when
• 39:15
Speaker 3: Oregon almost got beat by Boise? So they go on
• 39:18
Speaker 3: the road to Oklahoma State, and everyone's sitting there thinking,
• 39:21
Speaker 3: they're favored by 24 and a half. Yeah, that makes sense.
• 39:24
Speaker 3: They'll get their act together this week. And they didn't.
• 39:26
Speaker 3: They got beat. I know what, you know, the history,
• 39:30
Speaker 3: says is supposed to happen in this spot. History says
• 39:33
Speaker 3: Texas Tech slowly getting their act together. They had the
• 39:36
Speaker 3: Sorsby stuff. It's Will Hammond at quarterback now. It's a
• 39:39
Speaker 3: new cast of characters. They're figuring things out against outmanned
• 39:44
Speaker 3: opponents week one and week two. But week three, conference
• 39:46
Speaker 3: play begins. Houston in there on a Friday night. That's
• 39:49
Speaker 3: when it'll come together. Maybe it will, but I actually
• 39:54
Speaker 3: agree that Castellanos has probably got to be a bigger
• 39:57
Speaker 3: part of this game plan because I think there is
• 40:00
Speaker 3: a chance that they get bogged down offensively because they
• 40:03
Speaker 3: certainly play a high enough caliber opponent this week to where,
• 40:06
Speaker 3: I mean, if you're not moving it, you either count
• 40:09
Speaker 3: on one of two things. You either change it up
• 40:10
Speaker 3: at quarterback, give them a different element to look at,
• 40:13
Speaker 3: or you just take the game over defensively. Last year's
• 40:16
Speaker 3: Texas Tech team could just take games over defensively. Think
• 40:19
Speaker 3: about the Brigham Young game. They didn't move the ball
• 40:21
Speaker 3: worth anything against Brigham Young, but they smoked them defensively,
• 40:24
Speaker 3: dominated defensively. This team is 63rd in havoc rate so
• 40:27
Speaker 3: far this year. So they are probably not the caliber
• 40:30
Speaker 3: of defense that we saw. I know Joey believes that
• 40:32
Speaker 3: they have the personnel. They've certainly got the experience level,
• 40:35
Speaker 3: the total snaps played, but Houston can pressure you too.
• 40:39
Speaker 3: So if you can't run the ball on them and
• 40:41
Speaker 3: they're able to get after Hammond, and Hammond is far
• 40:44
Speaker 3: more you know, a still threat than Wegman is. At
• 40:47
Speaker 3: least Wegman can move. At least he can improvise and
• 40:49
Speaker 3: make some plays with his legs. I think that number
• 40:52
Speaker 3: is based on preseason expectation a lot more than what
• 40:55
Speaker 3: you've seen. Because it's kind of weird that they're playing
• 40:56
Speaker 3: in week three, but they've already got a common opponent
• 40:59
Speaker 3: and it's Oregon State of all teams. But if you
• 41:01
Speaker 3: look at what these two teams did, just lined up
• 41:03
Speaker 3: against Oregon State, at every turn, Houston's the better looking team.
• 41:08
Speaker 3: Oregon State covered against both of them, by the way.
• 41:10
Speaker 3: But Houston's the better looking team. So I'm going to
• 41:12
Speaker 3: be on the opposite side. I'll take Houston plus the points.
• 41:15
Speaker 3: I think there's a reasonable shot they win the game outright.
• 41:18
Speaker 3: But I do think Texas Tech may find a way
• 41:21
Speaker 3: to win it. But I think it's a really tight game.
• 41:23
Speaker 3: And if they don't win it, then think about what
• 41:26
Speaker 3: that does to the Big 12 picture. Houston wins that.
• 41:30
Speaker 3: Because Utah looked incredible last week. Brigham Young looked really
• 41:34
Speaker 3: good against Arizona last week. Houston, if they win this game,
• 41:38
Speaker 3: will have looked good. Oklahoma State just took down Oregon.
• 41:41
Speaker 3: Kenny Dillingham's hanging out in London somewhere this week, and
• 41:44
Speaker 3: they've got a conference game against Kansas. Who knows what
• 41:46
Speaker 3: the Big 12 is? So give me Houston.
• 41:48
Speaker 2: You left one out. Kansas State. Yeah. I sleep on
• 41:50
  Speaker 2: Kansas State.
• 41:51
Speaker 3: Don't sleep on them. There's one thing I'm always guilty of.
• 41:53
Speaker 3: It's accidentally leaving out Kansas State.
• 41:55
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 41:56
Speaker 3: Where no one's perfect. I'm going to put two units
• 41:58
Speaker 3: on this, Houston plus seven and a half.
• 41:59
Speaker 1: Well, the way you spoke was like a five slap
• 42:01
  Speaker 1: on the table.
• 42:02
Speaker 2: Hey, I'll say this too. And as just the third
• 42:04
Speaker 2: party here waiting on which one, who's going to talk
• 42:07
Speaker 2: me into what? As far as the debate goes, like
• 42:08
  Speaker 2: I'm going Houston plus seven and a half. I don't
• 42:11
Speaker 2: know why, but that's what I'm taking. Yeah.
• 42:12
Speaker 1: Because that was poetic. It was poetic, but then he
• 42:14
Speaker 1: finishes it up with two. He spoke so confidently and
• 42:19
Speaker 1: then I was like, I'll go two units on that.
• 42:20
Speaker 2: I'll go one unit. My confidence level is still low,
• 42:26
Speaker 2: but it's an emotional part of me that wants Texas
• 42:28
Speaker 2: Tech to get it turned around.
• 42:29
Speaker 3: You know what it is.
• 42:29
Speaker 2: I'm going to be aware of that. It's also like
• 42:32
Speaker 2: the run game does need to be better. I think
• 42:33
Speaker 2: that's where Castellanos is a massive help. You add one
• 42:36
Speaker 2: in the blocker, he's very dynamic. And they're using him
• 42:40
Speaker 2: in a gimmicky, wildcat way, even though he is a quarterback.
• 42:44
Speaker 2: But I think if he takes steps, you put the
• 42:46
Speaker 2: game on against Alabama last year and he was at
• 42:47
Speaker 2: Florida State. get him outside the pocket, allow him to
• 42:50
Speaker 2: have one or two reads, then run the ball. You
• 42:53
Speaker 2: can take over the game that way because Texas Tech
• 42:56
Speaker 2: is going to make them one-dimensional.
• 42:57
Speaker 3: That's why I'm only two units.
• 42:58
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 42:59
Speaker 3: I don't know what his presence would mean in the game.
• 43:02
Speaker 2: And going one unit on Wegman, it's like, I can't
• 43:05
Speaker 2: trust Wegman at all.
• 43:06
Speaker 3: You've been in my life like seven years now. I
• 43:08
Speaker 3: don't know what to expect from you.
• 43:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 43:12
Speaker 3: Do you think Houston, if you're a Houston defensive staffer,
• 43:16
Speaker 3: How much do you think you expect Castellanos to play?
• 43:20
Speaker 1: I think you have a whole period during the week
• 43:23
Speaker 1: dedicated to the Wildcat. Because they're not just doing Castellanos,
• 43:26
Speaker 1: they're doing the running backs as well. Just Castellanos happens
• 43:28
Speaker 1: to be put out the slot and they have the
• 43:30
Speaker 1: running back at the quarterback position.
• 43:31
Speaker 2: And you're grabbing some cards off the things he did
• 43:33
Speaker 2: best in the run game last year at Florida State.
• 43:35
Speaker 1: I just think, dude, the talent level and them having like, hey,
• 43:39
Speaker 1: you're down in the fourth. We had to get it
• 43:41
Speaker 1: done against what's supposed to be an inferior opponent at
• 43:43
Speaker 1: their place. There's a lot of wake-up calls that take place,
• 43:47
Speaker 1: especially when you walk in the building where they're in
• 43:48
Speaker 1: the springtime because there's an emotional element to Texas Tech, but.
• 43:52
Speaker 2: They have the talent.
• 43:53
Speaker 1: They have the five stars, the athletes, and it's like
• 43:57
Speaker 1: that's a perfect game to go, hey, we got out
• 43:59
Speaker 1: of that one, but we need to realize if we're
• 44:01
Speaker 1: going to be the team people expect us to be,
• 44:03
Speaker 1: we can't just walk in, put the jersey on, and go.
• 44:05
Speaker 2: And unfortunately, Houston's the next one after that.
• 44:08
Speaker 3: This is the exact same line that we had for
• 44:11
Speaker 3: BYU versus Arizona last week.
• 44:13
Speaker 2: It is, and I bet.
• 44:15
Speaker 3: And that final, they bring me uncovered. They won by
• 44:18
  Speaker 3: like 11, right?
• 44:18
Speaker 2: Something like that. It was, yeah.
• 44:20
Speaker 1: Arizona was in it the whole game.
• 44:21
Speaker 3: Yeah. This may be like that. I just think maybe, uh, Houston,
• 44:26
Speaker 3: Texas tech margin, maybe a little bit closer.
• 44:27
Speaker 2: It would mean so much to college football. Let's go.
• 44:30
Speaker 2: I want to go under.
• 44:32
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 44:32
Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm thinking if Castellanos gets more involved, it completely
• 44:36
Speaker 2: like changes their approach offensively. Um, And again, my thoughts
• 44:42
Speaker 2: on Wegman. I think Texas Tech's defense, I think they're fine.
• 44:44
Speaker 2: I don't think they're going to be as explosive as
• 44:46
Speaker 2: they were last year, chaotic. But I do think the
• 44:49
Speaker 2: pieces that they do have, like watching them, they'll get
• 44:51
Speaker 2: their shit figured out. Some of it's MA stuff, missed assignments.
• 44:54
Speaker 2: I think they'll get it figured out. But if Castellanos
• 44:56
Speaker 2: is going to be in the game more, I think
• 44:58
Speaker 2: it changes their– it obviously changes the dynamic of how
• 45:00
Speaker 2: they move offensively. And if they keep what they have going–
• 45:04
Speaker 2: I'm just not high on Hammond right now. Not high
• 45:06
Speaker 2: on Hammond right now.
• 45:07
  Speaker 3: How many units?
• 45:08
  Speaker 2: One unit.
• 45:08
  Speaker 3: One unit.
• 45:09
Speaker 2: Still very... Yeah, this game's on the list, but you're not. Yeah,
• 45:13
Speaker 2: the viewer at home has just watched this entire segment. Like,
• 45:16
Speaker 2: I'm not confident on this game. Yeah, you started with that.
• 45:19
Speaker 2: So if they think anything other than that, then shame
• 45:21
Speaker 2: on them. Yeah. Let's get to the next game.
• 45:23
Speaker 3: All right, here we go.
• 45:25
Speaker 2: What is the next game? Here it is right here.
• 45:30
Speaker 2: All right, SMU at Louisville.
• 45:31
Speaker 1: Right now, Louisville is favored by 1.5 points. Total in
• 45:34
Speaker 1: that game is 59.5. Are you confident in this one?
• 45:40
Speaker 2: Over. Nice. Josh Pate, what do you think?
• 45:43
  Speaker 3: Great breakdown.
• 45:45
  Speaker 2: Over.
• 45:45
  Speaker 3: Great breakdown.
• 45:46
Speaker 2: Okay, so these defenses are weak where these quarterbacks live,
• 45:52
Speaker 2: and that's in explosive plays. Like, you look at what
• 45:55
Speaker 2: Jennings has done, he's number one in the country when
• 45:57
Speaker 2: it comes to 50-yard completions, and that is by design. Like, Lashley,
• 46:02
Speaker 2: he's built on tempo and explosives. And when you look
• 46:05
Speaker 2: at Louisville's defense, they're, what, tied for second in the
• 46:08
Speaker 2: worst team in the country as far as giving up
• 46:10
Speaker 2: explosive plays, like over 50-yard completions. I love Kynholtz. I
• 46:14
Speaker 2: think Kynholtz is a better finisher than Ashton Daniels was
• 46:17
Speaker 2: at Florida State. Because even if you look at what
• 46:20
Speaker 2: Louisville does well, that's running the football well. Like you
• 46:22
Speaker 2: witnessed on Florida State, they ran the ball 45 times
• 46:25
Speaker 2: for 200 yards. But SMU still went over 400 through
• 46:29
Speaker 2: the air and won that game. Knowing that Kynholtz is
• 46:33
Speaker 2: a better closer than Ashton Daniels, I think this is
• 46:34
Speaker 2: going to be an awesome game. I do think it's
• 46:36
Speaker 2: going to be an explosive game. If you're Braum or
• 46:38
Speaker 2: you're Louisville, you might be thinking, how do you slow
• 46:40
Speaker 2: this game down to keep Jennings and SMU, that offense,
• 46:44
Speaker 2: off the field? But as far as tempo and explosives go,
• 46:47
Speaker 2: all you have to do is give up a couple
• 46:48
Speaker 2: chunk plays and you're in a track meet whether you
• 46:50
Speaker 2: like it or not. Louisville does have a team to
• 46:52
Speaker 2: compete in the track meet because they've been stress tested,
• 46:55
Speaker 2: pressure tested against Ole Miss a couple weeks ago. I
• 46:57
Speaker 2: like the over in this game. I think both quarterbacks
• 47:00
Speaker 2: are phenomenal. And if I'm trying to hang my hat
• 47:02
Speaker 2: on which defense, which secondary is going to show up,
• 47:05
Speaker 2: they haven't shown it on tape that they could stop
• 47:07
Speaker 2: big plays. So I like the over in this game.
• 47:11
Speaker 2: Very slight lean towards Louisville here for me. I'm going
• 47:14
Speaker 2: to put one unit on Louisville minus one and a half.
• 47:18
Speaker 2: I think you may very well be on to something
• 47:20
Speaker 2: with the over. Now, the stat profile for Louisville is
• 47:23
Speaker 2: heavily skewed because they're one of only two teams that
• 47:26
Speaker 2: have faced Trinidad Chambliss so far.
• 47:28
Speaker 3: So that's baked in there. But I do think it's valid.
• 47:31
Speaker 3: The way you're breaking them down is valid. To me,
• 47:35
Speaker 3: this is kind of a simplistic game. This is one
• 47:37
Speaker 3: of those where you remember back when the Patriots used
• 47:39
Speaker 3: to play the Colts and everyone would just say, oh, man,
• 47:41
Speaker 3: it's Peyton versus Brady. It's Peyton versus Brady. That's not
• 47:44
Speaker 3: the matchup. They're not on the field at the same time. However,
• 47:48
Speaker 3: sometimes if you think you have a similar caliber defensive
• 47:52
Speaker 3: unit on the field, it really kind of comes down
• 47:54
Speaker 3: to which quarterback do I trust the most. I like
• 47:56
Speaker 3: both of them. Granted, I hadn't gotten to see Lincoln
• 47:59
Speaker 3: Kindholz as much as I've been able to see the
• 48:01
Speaker 3: other guy, but the other guy, Kevin Jennings, has turned
• 48:04
Speaker 3: the ball over and he's got a propensity for it.
• 48:07
Speaker 3: And he did it against Florida State in week one.
• 48:08
Speaker 3: That game should have been a blowout. And instead, it's
• 48:11
Speaker 3: a three-point game, still covered two and a half, but
• 48:13
Speaker 3: a three-point game because you kept turning the ball over
• 48:15
Speaker 3: and keeping a really bad team in a game. You
• 48:18
Speaker 3: do that against Louisville, Louisville's not a bad team. And
• 48:21
Speaker 3: Louisville's already in desperation mode because they got beat, whereas
• 48:24
Speaker 3: you haven't had to pay the price for your mistakes yet.
• 48:27
Speaker 3: And so I like Louisville at home taking this one unit.
• 48:31
Speaker 3: I think it's going to be high scoring, a lot
• 48:33
Speaker 3: of variance in it, but I'll lay the one and
• 48:34
Speaker 3: a half for one unit with Louisville.
• 48:36
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 48:36
Speaker 1: Jeff Brom, when he was at his press conference on Monday,
• 48:39
Speaker 1: the first question they asked him was about Kevin Jennings.
• 48:42
Speaker 1: He answered the question, In full detail, about a minute
• 48:46
Speaker 1: and a half on it. The next five questions they
• 48:48
Speaker 1: asked had nothing to do with Kevin Jennings, and Jeff
• 48:50
Speaker 1: Brom decided to turn it back to Kevin Jennings. So
• 48:53
Speaker 1: they understand what killed them last year. They know what
• 48:56
Speaker 1: they have to do. I think a huge benefit to
• 48:58
Speaker 1: Louisville is playing against Trinidad-Chambers and Ole Miss in Week 1.
• 49:02
Speaker 2: They brought up the.
• 49:03
Speaker 1: X-Plays explosives given up by the defense, and you alluded
• 49:06
Speaker 1: to it. It's like if you play Trinidad-Chambers and Ole
• 49:09
Speaker 1: Miss in the first two games, you're probably going to
• 49:11
Speaker 1: be in the back end of those explosives. the biggest
• 49:13
Speaker 1: question mark going into season four, Louisville, wasn't the defense.
• 49:16
Speaker 1: And if we look at what Ole Miss was able
• 49:18
Speaker 1: to do against Louisville, people are going to see the
• 49:21
Speaker 1: explosive plays and the amount of points they put on
• 49:23
Speaker 1: the board, but what they're not going to really look
• 49:24
Speaker 1: at is how the back end was able to run
• 49:27
Speaker 1: with some of those elite wide receivers, how fast that
• 49:30
Speaker 1: front seven was, and how aggressive that defensive front was
• 49:34
Speaker 1: against an offensive line that is a, quote, SEC offensive
• 49:37
Speaker 1: line still figuring themselves out to the point where Ole
• 49:39
Speaker 1: Miss had to use max protection to get their receivers
• 49:42
Speaker 1: down the field for training to have a chance late
• 49:44
Speaker 1: in that game when they're in an absolute shootout. Then
• 49:46
Speaker 1: there's Kahnholz who throws 24 passes his whole entire career.
• 49:50
Speaker 1: He's at Ohio State. He loses the job to Julian Sand,
• 49:53
Speaker 1: which we've figured out why he lost that job.
• 49:56
Speaker 2: He can throw the ball. He can run it.
• 49:58
Speaker 1: I think they have many more ways to attack SMU
• 50:02
Speaker 1: than SMU has to attack Louisville. And so when I
• 50:06
Speaker 1: look at it, it's like, yeah, you have a tall
• 50:08
Speaker 1: order here by– Not only getting to Jennings, but also
• 50:12
Speaker 1: bringing him down because he has that escapability and the
• 50:14
Speaker 1: ability to throw it down the field. I just like
• 50:17
Speaker 1: the athletes on both sides more. I like Kine Holtz
• 50:19
Speaker 1: in this position. I like it being at home for Louisville.
• 50:22
Speaker 1: I like Louisville minus one and a half, and I
• 50:24
Speaker 1: like it at four units. I feel really good about
• 50:30
Speaker 1: this team. This is a big get back here for them.
• 50:32
Speaker 1: They got embarrassed last year when these two teams played.
• 50:34
Speaker 1: This is basically whoever wins this is like, you know,
• 50:38
Speaker 1: it's Miami than them. And so there's a lot riding
• 50:41
Speaker 1: on this. And Louisville last year, they returned a lot
• 50:44
Speaker 1: of production on the defensive side of the ball, and
• 50:46
Speaker 1: they were top 25 in both categories run and pass.
• 50:48
Speaker 1: So it's like, all of those numbers are very skewed
• 50:52
Speaker 1: to me because Ole Miss is such a good football team.
• 50:55
Speaker 1: And Trinidad-Chambers is such a good football player. And what
• 50:57
Speaker 1: Lane Kempin was, they have two Heisman candidates in the backfield.
• 51:01
Speaker 1: So I like Louisville here. I like Louisville a lot.
• 51:04
Speaker 1: Louisville wins this game too.
• 51:07
Speaker 2: They are in a pressure moment as far as kind
• 51:09
Speaker 2: of back against the wall, but you take care of
• 51:11
Speaker 2: this game. Who else do you really have? Right. Not
• 51:14
Speaker 2: sleeping on everybody in the ACC, kind of sleeping on them.
• 51:16
Speaker 2: You go ahead and go to sleep.
• 51:17
  Speaker 3: It's fine.
• 51:18
Speaker 2: We're trying to do the Big 12 and now you're
• 51:19
  Speaker 2: taking Houston.
• 51:20
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, well, here's what I want to know. How
• 51:23
Speaker 3: much grass could be on the ground around this building?
• 51:25
Speaker 3: Because they've been blowing for a solid 45 minutes out there.
• 51:30
Speaker 3: And number two is, you know, there's so much hypocrisy.
• 51:36
Speaker 3: in how I'll feel watching this game because you're on
• 51:39
Speaker 3: the over. You're on the same side I'm on, but
• 51:42
Speaker 3: for four units. So it's actually in my best interest
• 51:45
Speaker 3: to lose this game and even have Louisville get shut
• 51:48
Speaker 3: out and have SMU win like 30 to nothing. And
• 51:51
Speaker 3: that's not a fun place to be.
• 51:53
Speaker 2: Yeah. It's a game, man. It's the game we play.
• 51:55
Speaker 2: You're going to move it up to four units?
• 51:57
  Speaker 1: No.
• 51:57
Speaker 2: You're playing a big match. I'll go to three if
• 51:59
Speaker 2: you go to three. Then we can just be even.
• 52:01
Speaker 2: Then we can both root for the same thing.
• 52:03
Speaker 3: Should we do that?
• 52:04
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm asking you the question.
• 52:05
Speaker 3: Because he just goes on to win like 35-31. That's
• 52:08
Speaker 3: what ends up happening. I'll do it. I'll meet you
• 52:10
Speaker 3: at three. That's fine.
• 52:11
Speaker 2: Can I say my units on this game? I'll do two. Two. Oh,
• 52:16
Speaker 2: you're doing the over. I like that as well. I
• 52:19
Speaker 2: like the over here too. There's going to be a
• 52:21
Speaker 2: lot of explosive things. You're starting to talk me into
• 52:23
Speaker 2: some Louisville defense. I've got to stay where I'm at.
• 52:26
Speaker 2: If you look at their schedule and look at Ole Miss,
• 52:28
Speaker 2: it's like, okay. You throw those little stats out the window.
• 52:31
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 52:31
Speaker 2: Trade-ins just like that, dude. Which one do we have next?
• 52:36
Speaker 2: We have Cock Nation. Oh, my God. I've been waiting
• 52:38
Speaker 2: for this one. Cocktember. Cocktember. Cocktember. I've been waiting for
• 52:43
Speaker 2: this one. Sneaky funnest game of the week. And I'm
• 52:47
Speaker 2: excited to see where Josh goes because we saw on
• 52:49
Speaker 2: week one where we were Auburn. Auburn felt like the play,
• 52:54
Speaker 2: but there was somebody in this shop– that you loved,
• 52:58
Speaker 2: that you wanted to back no matter what.
• 53:00
Speaker 3: Slap the table for them.
• 53:01
Speaker 2: Slap the table for Sherman Young. We have another one,
• 53:05
Speaker 2: an even stronger, this is even more of a diehard
• 53:07
Speaker 2: fan than Sherman Young. And I'm not saying Sherman Young
• 53:09
Speaker 2: is not a fan of Baylor. I'm just saying JP Hovey,
• 53:11
Speaker 2: when you talk about the South Carolina Gamecocks, like he
• 53:14
Speaker 2: is the South Carolina Gamecocks.
• 53:16
Speaker 1: You never question where JP's heart lies. There was a
• 53:20
Speaker 1: season there where it was like, who is Sherman a
• 53:23
Speaker 1: fan of? Because he's kind of just talking about every
• 53:25
  Speaker 1: Texas team.
• 53:26
Speaker 2: Yeah. And then Alabama came into full because his mom
• 53:29
Speaker 2: went there. Yeah. Which was nuts. Yeah.
• 53:31
Speaker 1: There was a trying time for him.
• 53:34
Speaker 2: What is it, three and a half?
• 53:36
Speaker 1: Mississippi, South Carolina's favorite three and a half total points
• 53:39
  Speaker 1: in that game.
• 53:39
Speaker 2: I can't read that. Is it 58 and a half points? Yeah,
• 53:41
  Speaker 2: 58 and a half is the over-under.
• 53:42
Speaker 6: I can't wait to see what Josh does.
• 53:44
  Speaker 2: I can't either, because I don't know, even when he
• 53:48
Speaker 2: went Baylor and slapped the table for Sherm, I'm like,
• 53:51
Speaker 2: was Sherm in his live chat that week during Josh
• 53:53
Speaker 2: Pate's show? I know JP shows up.
• 53:56
Speaker 5: History tells me Josh is going to bury me. And
• 54:02
Speaker 5: that head scratch is telling me the same thing.
• 54:06
Speaker 2: You know what I thought happened with you?
• 54:07
  Speaker 6: Do it, Josh.
• 54:11
Speaker 1: You had that DJ lightweight take that you refused to
• 54:14
  Speaker 1: give up on.
• 54:15
Speaker 2: Are you still on that, by the way?
• 54:16
Speaker 3: It paid off for me.
• 54:17
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 54:18
Speaker 1: And then you locked eyes with Sherm at one point
• 54:20
Speaker 1: during you talking about the game. And that's how you
• 54:23
Speaker 1: got to that point.
• 54:23
Speaker 3: Are you noticing that I have not looked at JP yet?
• 54:26
Speaker 3: Are you reading a lot into that?
• 54:27
Speaker 1: I've tried to not look at you until I spoke.
• 54:29
Speaker 1: Because I'm noticed for JP. So I'm kind of just
• 54:31
Speaker 1: trying to stay. I'm looking at Klump, dude.
• 54:33
Speaker 3: I hate what I've got to do. I hate what
• 54:37
Speaker 3: I've got to do.
• 54:38
  Speaker 6: Double table slap.
• 54:39
Speaker 2: Man, it's more important. Are you double slapping?
• 54:41
Speaker 3: It's more important to be right than be friends. That's
• 54:44
Speaker 3: the most important thing in the world.
• 54:45
  Speaker 6: Revealing.
• 54:49
Speaker 3: If you want to be confident racking up chunk plays
• 54:53
Speaker 3: against Towson and Kent State, that's fine. That's absolutely fine.
• 54:57
Speaker 3: Do we have a head coach whose reputation is essentially
• 55:00
Speaker 3: on the line here? And Shane Beamer? Yes, it is.
• 55:03
Speaker 3: Do we have a home field environment that I respect
• 55:07
Speaker 3: equal to, nay, more maybe than any of the places
• 55:10
Speaker 3: in the country that get all the hype? Yes, we do.
• 55:13
Speaker 3: Cockpit's going to be on fire. 415 kickoff Eastern time, 93,
• 55:16
  Speaker 3: 94 at kickoff.
• 55:18
  Speaker 6: Perfect.
• 55:21
Speaker 3: Here's the problem. The problem is Mississippi State's better than
• 55:27
Speaker 3: South Carolina. And I think the wrong team's favored. I
• 55:32
Speaker 3: trust Kamario Taylor more than I trust Lenora Sellers supporting
• 55:37
Speaker 3: cast because I think they'll hang him out to dry
• 55:40
Speaker 3: again this week because I don't trust him on the
• 55:42
Speaker 3: perimeter at all. I don't trust his wide receivers to
• 55:45
Speaker 3: work for him. I love not only the speed that
• 55:49
Speaker 3: Mississippi State has at receiver. I just flat out love
• 55:51
Speaker 3: what Kamario Taylor's doing in the passing game. Like people
• 55:54
Speaker 3: are looking at his stat line. I guarantee you a
• 55:57
Speaker 3: lot of America still has not watched them because they've
• 55:59
Speaker 3: played a no-name team and they played Minnesota. You've watched him.
• 56:04
  Speaker 2: Right?
• 56:05
Speaker 3: You've watched him, right?
• 56:06
Speaker 2: I was very wrong about him.
• 56:07
Speaker 3: Are these dumping passes off in the flat, bunch of
• 56:10
  Speaker 3: yards after catch?
• 56:11
Speaker 2: He's not doing that.
• 56:11
Speaker 3: No, what are you seeing when you pop on?
• 56:13
Speaker 2: I'm seeing him throw bombs over Baghdad, dude. He's a superstar.
• 56:16
  Speaker 2: He's a superstar. He is.
• 56:19
Speaker 3: So there's continuity, there's consistency, there's the ability to continue
• 56:23
Speaker 3: copy-paste this week over week. I don't trust South Carolina
• 56:27
Speaker 3: to have standard drive success. Like when you watch them
• 56:29
Speaker 3: against Towson and Kent, it's gross, gross, boom, 50 yards.
• 56:34
Speaker 3: It's just we outman you and eventually we'll take over.
• 56:37
  Speaker 3: I don't like them at receiver at all. I don't
• 56:39
Speaker 3: know that I can trust them on the lines of scrimmage,
• 56:41
Speaker 3: and I do trust Kamario Taylor to be able to
• 56:43
  Speaker 3: take over a game, but it's not a one-man team.
• 56:46
Speaker 3: They're really good at tailback as well. Mississippi State is.
• 56:49
Speaker 3: I love just the overall speed they have out wide,
• 56:52
Speaker 3: and there are too many holes to plug if you're
• 56:55
Speaker 3: South Carolina. J.P. Pohl, not the J.P. Hovey Pohl, but
• 57:00
Speaker 3: the J.P. Pohl has South Carolina power rated top 25.
• 57:04
Speaker 3: Over Nebraska, over Michigan. I simply don't believe that. I
• 57:07
Speaker 3: think the model's drunk right now. But I think it'll
• 57:09
Speaker 3: correct itself this week when it finds out the wrong
• 57:11
Speaker 3: team was favored. So I'm going to take Mississippi State
• 57:13
Speaker 3: plus three and a half for four units.
• 57:16
Speaker 2: Why don't you take a money line?
• 57:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, why are you going money line? I did in
• 57:18
Speaker 3: my own personal life. Because I would love the way
• 57:23
  Speaker 3: you just spoke.
• 57:24
Speaker 2: All that talk. All that talk. That's the second time
• 57:27
Speaker 2: on this show he's done it. Stares us in the eyes.
• 57:30
  Speaker 2: Talks so confidently.
• 57:31
Speaker 1: We're like, holy shit, I feel so bad because he's
• 57:33
Speaker 1: literally just taking rounds and shooting him in JP's.
• 57:36
Speaker 2: Chest over and over again.
• 57:37
Speaker 1: And then he goes, I'll take the points.
• 57:40
Speaker 3: Can I tell you why?
• 57:40
Speaker 2: Everybody listening in the car right now, sitting at home
• 57:42
Speaker 2: watching on the screen, like, man, I need to turn
• 57:44
Speaker 2: on some Mississippi State film. Yeah, holy shit, we don't
• 57:46
Speaker 2: know about Kamaru Taylor. You just go plus three and
• 57:48
  Speaker 2: a half. Who's Kamaru Taylor?
• 57:49
Speaker 3: Body language. I want to face him when I say this.
• 57:52
Speaker 3: You know what I would love? I would love for
• 57:55
Speaker 3: South Carolina to win the game by three.
• 57:57
  Speaker 6: That's love.
• 57:58
Speaker 3: That's what I want to bake in as a possibility.
• 58:02
  Speaker 6: That's love.
• 58:03
Speaker 2: Is that supposed to carry any weight? He just slapped you. Yeah,
• 58:08
Speaker 2: his crowbar theory. He took the crowbar and just beat
• 58:10
Speaker 2: you in the face with it.
• 58:12
Speaker 3: Cut his leg off and put a tourniquet on. That's
• 58:13
  Speaker 3: what I did.
• 58:15
Speaker 2: Maxed out your credit card. Jeffy, how good do you.
• 58:17
Speaker 3: Feel about this game?
• 58:18
Speaker 6: I feel amazing about this game.
• 58:20
Speaker 3: Like actually winning it? You feel amazing about winning it
• 58:23
Speaker 3: or that the game's going to happen?
• 58:25
  Speaker 2: Both.
• 58:26
Speaker 5: I feel amazing about winning it because ultimately, I know
• 58:30
Speaker 5: the Camario-Taylor-Lenore-Sellers matchup is what everybody's talking about. To me,
• 58:34
Speaker 5: it's really Bryles versus Mississippi State's D.C., which, what's his name?
• 58:40
  Speaker 3: Zachary Nutt.
• 58:40
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 58:41
Speaker 6: Great D.C. I trust our defense more than anything.
• 58:45
Speaker 5: They've proven the last three, four years that they can
• 58:48
Speaker 5: play against Any single team.
• 58:50
Speaker 3: I see your eyes getting wide. You said anything.
• 58:52
Speaker 5: Dude, our defense shows up against all of the best
• 58:55
Speaker 5: teams and teams a lot better than this Mississippi State team.
• 58:59
Speaker 5: At the end of the day, Mississippi State does have
• 59:00
Speaker 5: holes on their team and they haven't played anybody.
• 59:04
Speaker 6: To expose them. And we've got guys to expose them. Receiver,
• 59:07
Speaker 6: I agree. We need somebody to step up.
• 59:09
  Speaker 2: Anybody.
• 59:10
Speaker 6: Anybody and what a game to step up.
• 59:12
  Speaker 3: This is it.
• 59:15
  Speaker 2: I love it i wish i had i'm rocking with
• 59:17
Speaker 2: you jp yeah i like south carolina minus three and
• 59:19
Speaker 2: a half i think lenore sellers is going to be
• 59:21
Speaker 2: the best player on the field on saturday he will
• 59:23
Speaker 2: be I say that with a confidence level one, but
• 59:26
Speaker 2: I do believe he'll be the best player. Jay-Z's just
• 59:28
Speaker 2: getting slapped around. I'm rocking with you, bro. Wait up
• 59:33
Speaker 2: this episode to give you some Jack Daniels.
• 59:35
Speaker 1: Whether I'm at a tailgate or on the couch watching
• 59:37
Speaker 1: Michigan on Saturday, Jack Daniels is a staple on my
• 59:40
Speaker 1: game day roster. They got a flavor for every type
• 59:42
Speaker 1: of fan. You got the cinnamon kick of Jack Fire,
• 59:45
Speaker 1: the smooth taste of Jack Honey, the crisp and refreshing
• 59:48
Speaker 1: Jack Apple. and the only BlackBerry bursting with Jack. Personally,
• 59:52
Speaker 1: I'm a Jack Honey type of guy. Bold calls on
• 59:55
Speaker 1: the field and in your glass, there's a Jack for
• 59:58
Speaker 1: every football fan. Let's get back to this episode.
• 1:00:01
Speaker 2: Hey, fun fact on this game. Lebby, head coach for
• 1:00:09
Speaker 2: Mississippi State. Bryles, the OC for South Carolina. They're brother-in-laws. Really? Lebby.
• 1:00:17
Speaker 2: He married Bryles' sister. So there's a lot of personal. Yeah,
• 1:00:23
Speaker 2: there's a lot of personal bragging rights on this game.
• 1:00:27
Speaker 2: Let me took his sister, man.
• 1:00:28
  Speaker 3: Took her.
• 1:00:30
Speaker 2: Took his sister, man. Gotta get this to the facility. Yeah.
• 1:00:34
Speaker 2: This is a fun fact on the game. But JP,
• 1:00:37
Speaker 2: I'm rocking with you. Now, what the hell is Dylan
• 1:00:40
Speaker 2: Stewart going to play? No. I need Dylan Stewart playing.
• 1:00:43
Speaker 1: Dylan Stewart's not playing and their left tackle's also not playing.
• 1:00:46
Speaker 2: No, I think it's trending up with him.
• 1:00:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, trending up with left tackle, but Dylan Stewart, I
• 1:00:51
  Speaker 6: don't know.
• 1:00:52
Speaker 2: Are we going to sleep on Shane Beamer? Are we
• 1:00:53
Speaker 2: giving up on Shane Beamer right now? I love Shane Beamer.
• 1:00:55
Speaker 1: I love Shane Beamer.
• 1:00:56
Speaker 2: Mississippi State, you're right. Kamaru Taylor, absolute superstar. I fucking
• 1:00:59
Speaker 2: love this dude. I love this quarterback. But fifth start?
• 1:01:03
Speaker 2: Fifth career start? Going into Williams-Brice's stadium?
• 1:01:07
Speaker 3: Williams-Brice's stadium is going to be crazy. It's going to
• 1:01:10
  Speaker 3: be crazy.
• 1:01:11
Speaker 2: Williams-Brice's stadium, the cockpit? It's going to be loud. I
• 1:01:14
Speaker 2: like the line of scrimmage. I love 17, the linebacker.
• 1:01:16
Speaker 2: Number 17 for South Carolina. When I watch a Mississippi
• 1:01:20
Speaker 2: State's film, I think you have obviously two game weeks,
• 1:01:24
Speaker 2: but I feel like enough is there to where it's
• 1:01:28
Speaker 2: really simplified. They simplify it for Kamaru Taylor. It's like
• 1:01:31
Speaker 2: receivers are outside the numbers. It's a lot of easy
• 1:01:34
Speaker 2: RPO scheme for them to where if you're South Carolina,
• 1:01:37
Speaker 2: defensively going into this game, game planning it, There's not
• 1:01:41
Speaker 2: a lot you have to do other than keep your
• 1:01:43
Speaker 2: eyes on your work and don't fall asleep out on
• 1:01:45
Speaker 2: the perimeter. Because he's got the velocity on the ball
• 1:01:47
Speaker 2: to where he can get it out there quick if
• 1:01:48
Speaker 2: there's enough space. They do have a lot of speed,
• 1:01:51
Speaker 2: but it's not like, it's very simple. The run game's simple.
• 1:01:54
Speaker 2: Anytime you get a Y off in the backfield, you're
• 1:01:57
Speaker 2: thinking the RPO. Maybe a play action, deep. Anytime a
• 1:02:01
Speaker 2: receiver or a tight end, they motion behind the line
• 1:02:03
Speaker 2: of scrimmage, it's 90 plus percent run. Anytime they're taking
• 1:02:07
Speaker 2: off before they even get to the line of scrimmage,
• 1:02:08
Speaker 2: it's a pass play. It's keep your eyes on your work,
• 1:02:11
Speaker 2: do your job, and stop the run. Because you're going
• 1:02:14
Speaker 2: to have the guys out on the perimeter, and it's
• 1:02:16
Speaker 2: like take care of the box. Minnesota did a poor
• 1:02:18
Speaker 2: job of tackling the ball carrier for Mississippi State. Mississippi
• 1:02:21
Speaker 2: State offensive line ate that defensive line up, moving them
• 1:02:24
Speaker 2: out of gaps. Mississippi State kind of bullied them. But
• 1:02:27
Speaker 2: if you watch the second half of the Minnesota game,
• 1:02:30
Speaker 2: Minnesota was out playing them for the majority of the
• 1:02:33
Speaker 2: third quarter before they didn't get their fourth down play
• 1:02:35
Speaker 2: at the goal line. They go in, they have a
• 1:02:37
Speaker 2: long drive, kick a field goal. It's 31-13. They get
• 1:02:40
Speaker 2: the ball back. Mississippi State goes three and out. Minnesota
• 1:02:44
Speaker 2: drives all the way down the field again. It's fourth
• 1:02:46
Speaker 2: and three. They end up going for it instead of
• 1:02:47
Speaker 2: kicking a field goal, knowing that your two scores down.
• 1:02:50
Speaker 2: They just don't get the field goal. Mississippi State scores
• 1:02:52
Speaker 2: one more touchdown. The game's pretty much boring and over
• 1:02:54
Speaker 2: from there. And that's against a pro-style quarterback too. Like
• 1:02:57
Speaker 2: I think Lenore Sellers browsing this RPO game, they're going
• 1:03:00
Speaker 2: to see a wrinkle. Mississippi State defensively is going to
• 1:03:02
Speaker 2: see a wrinkle that they just haven't seen at this
• 1:03:04
Speaker 2: level of athlete. And again, it's like Lenore Sellers, I
• 1:03:08
Speaker 2: need him to dial in his accuracy, but I'm hedging
• 1:03:11
Speaker 2: on that they had a, what was it, 90-minute rain delay? Yep.
• 1:03:15
Speaker 2: 90-minute rain delay. Receiver does need to show up. I
• 1:03:17
Speaker 2: do wish Dylan Stewart was playing, so I'm kind of
• 1:03:20
Speaker 2: talking my confidence level down, but I do like South
• 1:03:23
Speaker 2: Carolina in this game. So I'm going to take South
• 1:03:25
Speaker 2: Carolina minus three and a half. I'm going to put
• 1:03:26
Speaker 2: my confidence level at two. So two units, South Carolina.
• 1:03:29
Speaker 1: I think if you're watching film on Mississippi State's offense,
• 1:03:31
Speaker 1: they're the easiest team in all of college football to scout.
• 1:03:34
Speaker 2: You broke down what they can do. Thank you, man.
• 1:03:36
Speaker 2: Tell the people. It's 11 personnel, 24-7. The Y is off.
• 1:03:38
Speaker 2: All the things you just said.
• 1:03:43
Speaker 1: Makes sense. The problem is Kamario Taylor.
• 1:03:45
Speaker 2: That is the problem.
• 1:03:46
Speaker 1: The problem is Kamario Taylor. And it's the RPO, Lenore.
• 1:03:50
Speaker 1: You talked about the DC and the OC, that's the battle.
• 1:03:53
Speaker 1: I still go back to Kamario Taylor and Lenore Sellers.
• 1:03:56
Speaker 1: Those are the two guys in this game that are
• 1:03:58
Speaker 1: going to make a difference. And it's Kamario Taylor is
• 1:04:02
Speaker 1: what South Carolina believed Lenore Sellers to be a couple
• 1:04:05
Speaker 1: of years ago. where they're like, this is a guy,
• 1:04:07
Speaker 1: he can run it, look how big, look how athletic
• 1:04:09
Speaker 1: he is, he can throw the ball, he can stand
• 1:04:11
Speaker 1: on flat footed and throw it 60 yards down the field.
• 1:04:13
Speaker 1: And Kamario Taylor is the new shiny toy in the
• 1:04:16
Speaker 1: SEC that everyone's excited about. Complete misread by me when
• 1:04:19
Speaker 1: it came to the Minnesota game last week. I felt
• 1:04:21
Speaker 1: very confident about Minnesota. I still think Minnesota is a well-coached,
• 1:04:25
Speaker 1: disciplined ball club, but it's the Kamario Taylor effect. It's
• 1:04:29
Speaker 1: the speed they have on the perimeter. I think Lenore
• 1:04:32
Speaker 1: Sellers goes into this week understanding his relationship with Beamer.
• 1:04:36
Speaker 1: You see the last couple of years when they had
• 1:04:37
Speaker 1: a bunch of guys that are going to be NFL
• 1:04:39
Speaker 1: draft picks stay in South Carolina. Says a lot about
• 1:04:41
Speaker 1: the head coach, says a lot about the culture, says
• 1:04:43
Speaker 1: a lot about the whole school in general. I think
• 1:04:46
Speaker 1: Lenore Sellers is taking this very personal. I think every
• 1:04:48
Speaker 1: great athlete should take these things personal. When you're supposed
• 1:04:51
Speaker 1: to be the great shiny toy, then something else comes
• 1:04:54
Speaker 1: in and it's the new Buzz Lightyear to the Woody
• 1:04:57
Speaker 1: in Toy Story 1. I love the over in this game.
• 1:05:01
  Speaker 1: I love 58 and a half. I think this is
• 1:05:03
Speaker 1: going to be the biggest firework game of the season.
• 1:05:06
Speaker 1: I think they're going to trade blows. Both quarterbacks are
• 1:05:09
Speaker 1: going to have incredible stat lines. I can't say where
• 1:05:12
Speaker 1: I would go in this because I'm a for the
• 1:05:15
Speaker 1: boys type of guy and I'm not going to let
• 1:05:17
Speaker 1: that be public. So I'm going to say 58 and
• 1:05:20
Speaker 1: a half over on that. I think fireworks all around
• 1:05:24
Speaker 1: and it's going to be a great place to be
• 1:05:25
Speaker 1: in South Carolina this weekend to watch a football game.
• 1:05:27
  Speaker 2: I got.
• 1:05:29
Speaker 1: I'll do four on that. I'll do four. I love
• 1:05:32
Speaker 1: points in this game.
• 1:05:33
Speaker 5: Don't be surprised with an early turnover from Camario Taylor.
• 1:05:37
  Speaker 2: I wouldn't be surprised. In Williams-Brice's stadiums.
• 1:05:39
Speaker 6: And then we never look it back.
• 1:05:41
Speaker 1: Listen, after the Minnesota game, I was like, oh, Mississippi State.
• 1:05:47
Speaker 2: Can play with anybody. Camario Taylor can keep them in games. Yeah,
• 1:05:51
Speaker 2: you're right. No matter what.
• 1:05:52
Speaker 1: But I also know, and through us doing the show
• 1:05:55
Speaker 1: the last couple years together, is every time I see
• 1:05:58
Speaker 1: a new shiny toy and I buy into that toy,
• 1:05:59
Speaker 1: it bites me in the ass. So to protect everybody here,
• 1:06:03
Speaker 1: I have to go the over. Because if I go
• 1:06:05
Speaker 1: Mississippi State, something could happen.
• 1:06:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, I see where your head's at.
• 1:06:09
Speaker 2: Yeah. And also what happens if Kamaru Taylor gets hit
• 1:06:12
Speaker 2: in the mouth early in the game? Like how does
• 1:06:14
Speaker 2: the team respond? I think that defensive player falls down
• 1:06:17
Speaker 2: and he keeps running. Wow. Kamaru Taylor is 6'4, like 240.
• 1:06:20
Speaker 2: That kid's a unit. Yeah. He's a unit. More like competitively. Yeah.
• 1:06:30
Speaker 2: Like they don't come off to a hot start. Like
• 1:06:33
  Speaker 2: it's a slower game.
• 1:06:34
Speaker 1: I think it goes back to what we talked about
• 1:06:36
Speaker 1: after week one when we were talking about this game
• 1:06:38
Speaker 1: when they were going up to Minnesota is the confidence
• 1:06:42
Speaker 1: level that this quarterback has is like Cam Newton-esque type
• 1:06:46
Speaker 1: of confidence. Like he has open throws, crossing routes down below.
• 1:06:50
Speaker 1: He doesn't give a shit about that.
• 1:06:52
Speaker 3: Camario Taylor's the new Cam Newton.
• 1:06:54
Speaker 2: Said by Josh Payton.
• 1:06:56
Speaker 3: Oh, I was just interpreting.
• 1:06:58
Speaker 2: But also, low-key, right? Low-key, he's kind of like that.
• 1:07:03
Speaker 2: He's kind of like that.
• 1:07:04
Speaker 1: But I love Lenore Sellers taking it personal. I love
• 1:07:06
Speaker 1: him getting out his wide receivers. You guys need to
• 1:07:08
Speaker 1: fucking do a better job.
• 1:07:09
Speaker 3: So you think this game is going to be, I'm
• 1:07:10
Speaker 3: the new Cam Newton. And then the next drive is like, no,
• 1:07:12
Speaker 3: I'm the new Cam Newton. Imagine Cam Newton watching this game.
• 1:07:15
Speaker 1: I think both quarterbacks start podcasts by the fourth quarter.
• 1:07:20
Speaker 1: They both have podcast bands.
• 1:07:23
Speaker 3: What do they wear to the postgame presser? The biggest
• 1:07:25
Speaker 3: hat you've ever seen. How big is the feather going
• 1:07:27
Speaker 3: to be on the cap?
• 1:07:28
Speaker 1: This is Alice in Wonderland type of big hat. We're
• 1:07:31
  Speaker 1: talking 10 gallon.
• 1:07:33
Speaker 5: One final quick note on Minnesota because Minnesota were being
• 1:07:36
Speaker 5: used as like they beat Minnesota, they handle Minnesota.
• 1:07:40
Speaker 6: Who is one of Minnesota's offensive coaches? Mike Shula. You
• 1:07:47
Speaker 6: think we worried about offense? That has Mike Shula with
• 1:07:50
Speaker 6: his hands in it.
• 1:07:51
Speaker 2: I think George Lindsay's nice. Yeah, but he's talking about
• 1:07:55
Speaker 2: Mike Shula. I know, he's trying to show Shula.
• 1:07:57
Speaker 3: No, no, no, I just want to, that was a
• 1:07:59
Speaker 3: fun fact. I actually did not even know Shula was
• 1:08:01
Speaker 3: up there. Another fun fact is Clemson has low-key been
• 1:08:05
Speaker 3: kind of terrible the last few years, right? You've watched them.
• 1:08:07
Speaker 3: You've watched every game. So Garrett Riley was the punching bag.
• 1:08:12
Speaker 3: Dabo hit the flush button. Good, man. We got Garrett
• 1:08:15
Speaker 3: Riley out of here. We'll be fine. And all Garrett
• 1:08:17
Speaker 3: Riley's done is gone on to Missouri, and they're lighting
• 1:08:22
Speaker 3: it up. And all the Clemson folks, if you picked
• 1:08:24
Speaker 3: up on this, they're starting to say, wait a second,
• 1:08:27
Speaker 3: Garrett Riley wasn't the problem? Are we the problem? That's
• 1:08:32
Speaker 3: been kind of fun to watch. A little side note.
• 1:08:34
Speaker 3: Just some Palmetto State back and forth between me and JP.
• 1:08:37
Speaker 5: Vickari Swain has the same amount of touchdowns as Clemson's offense.
• 1:08:40
  Speaker 2: Oh, no.
• 1:08:41
  Speaker 3: Oh, no.
• 1:08:42
Speaker 6: Another fun fact for Clemson Carolina.
• 1:08:43
Speaker 2: Another fun fact. It's a good pivot to the Gravely
• 1:08:46
Speaker 2: Game of the Week.
• 1:08:47
  Speaker 3: Is it ever?
• 1:08:49
Speaker 1: Dude, I have to do a better job of organizing
• 1:08:51
  Speaker 1: these things.
• 1:08:52
Speaker 2: Go buy a lawnmower. Go buy a lawnmower. Gravely game
• 1:08:56
  Speaker 2: of the week.
• 1:08:56
Speaker 1: LSU at Ole Miss. LSU is favored by three and
• 1:08:59
Speaker 1: a half. points in Oxford. Total points in that game,
• 1:09:02
Speaker 1: 58 and a half. Talked about the storylines. Talked about Kiffin.
• 1:09:08
Speaker 1: Talked about people being served subpoenas or whatever it is
• 1:09:12
Speaker 1: as they get litigation taking place on a Tuesday morning.
• 1:09:17
Speaker 1: What's the make of this game, Wilcompton?
• 1:09:19
Speaker 2: Over. I'm chasing points. I'm chasing 60 plus this weekend.
• 1:09:23
Speaker 2: In a couple. SMU Louisville, LSU Ole Miss. To me,
• 1:09:26
Speaker 2: it's what weakness gets exposed first. Is it the ball
• 1:09:29
Speaker 2: security of LSU's offense with Sam Leavitt? Because again, it's like, yeah,
• 1:09:34
Speaker 2: let down, not let down spot, but not even giving
• 1:09:36
Speaker 2: a shit that you're playing Louisiana Tech. But also, Sam Leavitt,
• 1:09:40
Speaker 2: what are you doing? Three picks, first half, four turnovers.
• 1:09:46
Speaker 2: Or the weaknesses of Ole Miss's defense. And part of
• 1:09:49
Speaker 2: me is, like, the reason I love the over in
• 1:09:52
Speaker 2: this game, too, is you have Trinidad Chambliss and Lacey. Like,
• 1:09:55
Speaker 2: this offense is going to be high-powered. Yeah, LSU's defense
• 1:09:58
Speaker 2: is incredible. Like, athletic up front, flies with the football
• 1:10:03
Speaker 2: at the second level. They're long on the outside. And
• 1:10:07
Speaker 2: number two, that safety. He's as good as anybody in
• 1:10:10
  Speaker 2: the country.
• 1:10:10
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:10:11
Speaker 2: Is Ty Benefield? Yeah. Yeah, he is an absolute. Boise
• 1:10:13
  Speaker 2: State transfer.
• 1:10:14
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 1:10:14
Speaker 2: He's an absolute stud. He's an eraser at that third
• 1:10:17
Speaker 2: level when playing in the box. He's got range on
• 1:10:19
Speaker 2: the outside. Great speed, great closing speed, in control of
• 1:10:23
Speaker 2: his body. Like, they have everything as far as Ole Miss'
• 1:10:26
  Speaker 2: defense is concerned. I just, I like Trinidad-Chambers. I love
• 1:10:30
Speaker 2: the spot. LSU coming into Oxford. It's like, LSU hasn't,
• 1:10:34
Speaker 2: who have they beat? Louisiana Tech and Clemson. Clemson right now, like,
• 1:10:37
Speaker 2: they're a dogshit football team. Right now.
• 1:10:40
Speaker 3: That's one way to put it.
• 1:10:41
Speaker 2: I mean, right now, right? Like, you know what I mean? Like,
• 1:10:45
Speaker 2: who would they beat? Nobody. Yeah, nobody. They haven't played
• 1:10:49
Speaker 2: Chambliss and Lacey. They haven't walked into Oxford with Game
• 1:10:55
Speaker 2: Day there. They haven't walked in there with Lane Kiffin
• 1:10:57
Speaker 2: walking into that building. Game Day was at LSU Clemson
• 1:11:00
Speaker 2: week one. No, I'm talking game day going to be
• 1:11:02
Speaker 2: at Oxford this weekend. Oh, uh-huh. Yeah. Like, they haven't
• 1:11:06
Speaker 2: walked into a moment like this. It might have felt
• 1:11:08
Speaker 2: like that moment, but that was more get right with
• 1:11:10
Speaker 2: all the distractions going on.
• 1:11:11
Speaker 3: Just let him go. Just let him cook. Keep cooking.
• 1:11:13
  Speaker 3: Keep cooking.
• 1:11:14
Speaker 2: I'm absolutely dialed in right now. There's no notes. Because
• 1:11:16
Speaker 2: it's going to be the over. It's going to be
• 1:11:19
Speaker 2: the over. Slap the table, Will. Slap the table. Give
• 1:11:26
Speaker 2: me the fucking over. Give me the over, LSU Ole Miss.
• 1:11:31
Speaker 3: Dude, they haven't dealt with game day being in town.
• 1:11:33
Speaker 2: LSU doesn't know about distractions. No, they haven't dealt with
• 1:11:35
Speaker 2: game day being in town. They don't know about game
• 1:11:36
Speaker 2: day being in town. Being there? No, no. They're just
• 1:11:39
Speaker 2: quietly about being in the office. I'm in it like
• 1:11:42
Speaker 2: game day in Oxford, Mississippi. Game day in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
• 1:11:46
Speaker 2: But that was against Clemson. Who is what?
• 1:11:49
Speaker 1: Who we thought was going to be a team.
• 1:11:51
Speaker 2: Absolutely. Who we thought, but then the game happened. It's like, okay, damn,
• 1:11:56
Speaker 2: Clemson really got broken up. Then you're up what?
• 1:11:58
Speaker 1: Seven points against Georgia Southern? If you had to pick
• 1:12:01
Speaker 1: a team, because I love the slap at the table.
• 1:12:03
Speaker 1: I love that there have been no distractions for LSU.
• 1:12:08
Speaker 1: This game, there's got to be distractions. Who would you pick?
• 1:12:11
Speaker 1: I'm not going to hold your feet to the fire.
• 1:12:12
Speaker 1: I just want to know your thought process.
• 1:12:17
Speaker 2: Probably LSU. You just inceptioned him.
• 1:12:19
  Speaker 3: Yeah. That's an L.
• 1:12:20
Speaker 2: I thought you were pointing at me. Probably LSU. Because again,
• 1:12:24
  Speaker 2: Ole Miss defensively, I'm just not, I don't have a
• 1:12:27
Speaker 2: whole lot of faith. And as good as LSU's defense is,
• 1:12:32
Speaker 2: they're going to have, I mean, they're going to have
• 1:12:33
Speaker 2: a plan for it. Like Trinidad-Chambers, he gets the ball
• 1:12:35
Speaker 2: off in 2.5 seconds. Like the pressure rate of LSU
• 1:12:40
Speaker 2: is great, but it doesn't work if you're not going
• 1:12:42
Speaker 2: to get to the quarterback. Yeah. Quick potty break to
• 1:12:45
Speaker 2: shout out neutral. No free shout outs to neutral. Neutral
• 1:12:47
Speaker 2: tastes great. So much better than what else is out there.
• 1:12:50
Speaker 2: It's made with real vodka and real juice. That's what
• 1:12:52
Speaker 2: makes it taste great and delicious. It comes in a
• 1:12:54
Speaker 2: variety of flavors, pineapple, watermelon, lime, and strawberry, to name
• 1:12:57
Speaker 2: a few. And it's perfect for social occasions because it
• 1:13:01
Speaker 2: is such a crowd pleaser. Think on the beach with friends,
• 1:13:04
Speaker 2: at a house watching the game with the boys, at
• 1:13:06
Speaker 2: a local bar watching the games with the boys. It's
• 1:13:08
Speaker 2: the perfect time of year to grab a 12-pack of
• 1:13:09
Speaker 2: Neutral for the beach or grab a bucket deal in
• 1:13:12
Speaker 2: your favorite bar to celebrate football season. Neutral, keep it tasty.
• 1:13:17
Speaker 2: So if I had to lean anywhere, I'd say LSU.
• 1:13:19
Speaker 2: I'm personally like I would love to see Ole Miss
• 1:13:21
Speaker 2: win just because of everything that went down last year.
• 1:13:24
Speaker 2: But if I had to lean anywhere, it'd be LSU.
• 1:13:26
Speaker 2: But I do love the over in this game. 58
• 1:13:28
Speaker 2: and a half. You're LSU as well?
• 1:13:31
  Speaker 6: No.
• 1:13:32
  Speaker 2: No.
• 1:13:33
Speaker 3: No, I think the wrong team's favorite again.
• 1:13:35
  Speaker 2: Really?
• 1:13:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, and it moved across three this morning, which does
• 1:13:39
Speaker 3: me a huge favor because I'm taking Ole Miss plus
• 1:13:41
Speaker 3: the points. So they're going to give me three and
• 1:13:43
Speaker 3: a half. Don't, don't find peer pressure me on Moneyline.
• 1:13:45
Speaker 3: I'm just taking, I'm taking the points here. I'm going
• 1:13:48
Speaker 3: to put three units on this game. What makes me
• 1:13:50
Speaker 3: a little bit nervous is you actually just gave a
• 1:13:52
Speaker 3: perfect scouting report for Clemson. So I think there's maybe
• 1:13:55
Speaker 3: been a little bit of a knee jerk in the
• 1:13:57
Speaker 3: marketplace when everyone watched that week one result. It's really
• 1:14:01
Speaker 3: hard to look away from. It's a huge blowout win.
• 1:14:05
Speaker 3: And so I think there was a little bit of
• 1:14:07
Speaker 3: an overreaction. I actually think Ole Miss got tested way
• 1:14:10
Speaker 3: more in week one. And we probably learned a lot
• 1:14:13
Speaker 3: more about Ole Miss in week one against Louisville than
• 1:14:16
Speaker 3: we did LSU facing Clemson. And some of the questions,
• 1:14:20
Speaker 3: like can LSU sustain a running game against a better
• 1:14:24
  Speaker 3: defensive front? I actually still don't know. I still don't
• 1:14:27
Speaker 3: know about LSU's defensive front being challenged with a really
• 1:14:31
Speaker 3: experienced interior offensive line here. Clemson couldn't run the ball
• 1:14:34
Speaker 3: because they were behind immediately. So they had to try
• 1:14:36
Speaker 3: and throw. And side note, they couldn't do that either.
• 1:14:39
Speaker 3: So I don't know that we saw the water pressure
• 1:14:41
Speaker 3: against the dam. If the cracks are there, we don't
• 1:14:43
Speaker 3: even know where the cracks are. We theoretically will find
• 1:14:46
Speaker 3: out where the cracks are this weekend. I think there's
• 1:14:48
Speaker 3: a lot to be said for desperation. I think there's
• 1:14:50
Speaker 3: a lot to be said, same way with Texas last week,
• 1:14:52
Speaker 3: for one team wanting to win the game, one team
• 1:14:54
Speaker 3: needing to win the game. Like I can picture a
• 1:14:56
Speaker 3: world where LSU walks out of here with a close
• 1:14:58
Speaker 3: loss and they're good to go the rest of the year.
• 1:15:02
Speaker 3: This has the chance to do something mentally to Ole Miss.
• 1:15:05
Speaker 3: If they don't win it the same way Texas may
• 1:15:06
Speaker 3: have been neutered mentally if they didn't come back and
• 1:15:08
Speaker 3: win that game against Ohio State last week, although this
• 1:15:11
Speaker 3: is that times 10 because of the personal connection with
• 1:15:15
Speaker 3: Lane Kiffin. There's no answer for Trinidad Chambliss. If there was,
• 1:15:20
Speaker 3: Kirby Smart in Georgia would have had it. And they
• 1:15:22
Speaker 3: got to face him twice last year, and they had
• 1:15:24
Speaker 3: no answer for him. So all due respect to Blake Baker.
• 1:15:28
Speaker 3: We were talking to him the day before the Clemson
• 1:15:30
Speaker 3: game in the weight room, and he laid out everything
• 1:15:33
Speaker 3: they were about to do. player for player, matchup for matchup.
• 1:15:36
Speaker 3: He laid out everything they were about to do to
• 1:15:38
Speaker 3: Clemson and they did it. It was like spoilers to
• 1:15:41
Speaker 3: a movie. And we were standing there on the sideline going, yep,
• 1:15:43
Speaker 3: there it is. Yep. There he is. There's that matchup.
• 1:15:46
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 1:15:47
Speaker 3: I'd love to have Blake Baker on the show. Like
• 1:15:48
Speaker 3: we can call him. I don't think he's answering right now.
• 1:15:51
Speaker 3: What's your answer for Trinidad Chambliss? What's your answer for
• 1:15:54
Speaker 3: like Deuce Alexander? What's your, what's your answer for Kiwan Lacey?
• 1:15:57
Speaker 3: What's your answer? Do you think you've really got the
• 1:15:59
Speaker 3: dudes up front? Young guys, really talented guys, but young guys,
• 1:16:03
Speaker 3: like that's where they're about to be tested. And I
• 1:16:06
Speaker 3: trust Ole Miss's ground game more than LSU in this game.
• 1:16:10
Speaker 3: And if everyone wants to look back at the Clemson
• 1:16:12
Speaker 3: game in week one as the mantle you're going to
• 1:16:16
Speaker 3: hang your hat on, don't you have to look at
• 1:16:19
Speaker 3: week two? Like if you're going to be so supremely
• 1:16:21
Speaker 3: confident after the Clemson game, don't you have to look
• 1:16:24
Speaker 3: at that offensive line giving up five sacks and 11
• 1:16:26
Speaker 3: tackles for loss last year or last week rather? Don't
• 1:16:29
Speaker 3: you have to look at three interceptions? So that balances
• 1:16:32
Speaker 3: out in my mind. And what it equates to is
• 1:16:34
Speaker 3: I've still got some questions. And if I'm even in
• 1:16:37
Speaker 3: my mind, I'm going with home team in desperation mode.
• 1:16:40
Speaker 3: So I'll take Ole Miss plus three and a half.
• 1:16:43
Speaker 3: I'm going to put three units on it.
• 1:16:46
  Speaker 2: Three units.
• 1:16:47
  Speaker 3: Three units.
• 1:16:49
Speaker 2: I think if you put any other.
• 1:16:51
Speaker 1: jersey or logo on Ole Miss this week. I'd be
• 1:16:55
Speaker 1: more uncomfortable about LSU. But Lane Kiffin is the joker
• 1:16:59
Speaker 1: of college football. And the joker doesn't get up for
• 1:17:01
Speaker 1: petty crime. He gets up to turn civilizations against themselves.
• 1:17:03
Speaker 1: And this is the perfect seat for Lane Kiffin and me.
• 1:17:06
Speaker 1: And we talked about how he's saying all the pressures
• 1:17:08
Speaker 1: on them. He pat himself on the back about how
• 1:17:10
Speaker 1: many games they won last year and all the pressures
• 1:17:13
Speaker 1: on Ole Miss to win this game. And there's a
• 1:17:15
Speaker 1: heightened sense of security when it comes to Oxford, all
• 1:17:17
Speaker 1: the things. It plays into Lane Kiffin's mindset, the way
• 1:17:21
Speaker 1: he wants to operate. I agree with you with the
• 1:17:24
Speaker 1: offensive line. The offensive line on LSU has to play
• 1:17:26
Speaker 1: a lot better for them to be successful. Lane Kiffin's
• 1:17:29
Speaker 1: offense is a run-first offense. You have to establish the
• 1:17:32
Speaker 1: run in order for the passing game to be successful,
• 1:17:34
Speaker 1: in order for him to put up as many points
• 1:17:36
Speaker 1: as he usually does. I did look at the second
• 1:17:39
Speaker 1: game of Ole Miss and Charlotte, and what I saw
• 1:17:42
Speaker 1: was Charlotte outrush Ole Miss. When Ole Miss' team, the
• 1:17:46
Speaker 1: strength of their defense is supposed to be the front seven,
• 1:17:48
Speaker 1: specifically the interior of their defensive line.
• 1:17:51
  Speaker 2: So I see a.
• 1:17:53
Speaker 1: Matchup that earlier in the year, I would have said
• 1:17:56
Speaker 1: that Ole Miss has a massive edge on. Now it's like, well,
• 1:18:01
Speaker 1: not so much. LSU does have good tackles. There's some
• 1:18:04
Speaker 1: question marks in the interior. So I think they're going
• 1:18:06
Speaker 1: to be able to run the ball. I've already talked
• 1:18:08
Speaker 1: about Sam Lev as my Heisman guy. Three interceptions against
• 1:18:11
Speaker 1: La Tech is nothing that you can really go and
• 1:18:14
Speaker 1: kind of be like, well, it doesn't matter, except for
• 1:18:16
Speaker 1: the fact that it doesn't matter. And you said it
• 1:18:18
Speaker 1: last week, like neither one of those teams walked into
• 1:18:20
Speaker 1: Charlotte or Louisiana Tech and thought, oh, we're going to
• 1:18:22
Speaker 1: scout this game. They walked in there as no team
• 1:18:25
Speaker 1: should ever do in football and just put the uniform
• 1:18:27
Speaker 1: on and won the game. They went through the motions.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 1: I don't Bet you there was more scouting and practice
• 1:18:35
Speaker 1: for both LSU and Ole Miss on each other than
• 1:18:37
Speaker 1: there were against Charlotte and Louisiana Tech. The thing that
• 1:18:40
Speaker 1: can get LSU into trouble is Sam Levitt trying to
• 1:18:43
Speaker 1: play hero ball. He doesn't need to play hero ball,
• 1:18:46
Speaker 1: and I think that's where the run game with Dylan Jones,
• 1:18:48
Speaker 1: the Wisconsin transfer, really comes in. He is a bright
• 1:18:51
Speaker 1: spot for them, not only through training camp, but the
• 1:18:53
Speaker 1: first couple of weeks. And I just think there's the edges.
• 1:18:57
Speaker 1: Was it Princewell and Ross, the Tennessee transfer, for LSU
• 1:19:01
Speaker 1: against Trinidad and Chambliss? Getting to the quarterback is not
• 1:19:03
Speaker 1: going to be a problem. Ole Miss' offensive line is...
• 1:19:06
Speaker 1: Not great, to say the least. Trinidad is an elite talent.
• 1:19:09
Speaker 1: He's a special one-of-one type cat. But the speed that
• 1:19:13
Speaker 1: LSU has, they're going to have an answer for Deuce Alexander.
• 1:19:16
Speaker 1: They're going to have an answer for a cage rush
• 1:19:19
Speaker 1: with a guy, a spy, probably Weeks, or an athlete
• 1:19:22
Speaker 1: they put out there just to.
• 1:19:23
Speaker 2: Follow him around. Any of those backers, they all got speed.
• 1:19:25
Speaker 1: They all can run. Trades Green, anytime he's on the field,
• 1:19:30
Speaker 1: you have mismatch. regardless of who you put on him.
• 1:19:35
Speaker 1: Winnie Watkins Jr., they have all these soundbites from Ole
• 1:19:37
Speaker 1: Miss guys saying, I don't have a relationship with Lane Kiffin.
• 1:19:40
Speaker 2: Nah, we cool. It's all good. No bad blood.
• 1:19:42
  Speaker 1: But X, Y, and Z, I don't mess with him.
• 1:19:44
Speaker 1: There's other guys that came from Ole Miss to LSU
• 1:19:48
Speaker 1: that probably feel the same exact way that want to
• 1:19:50
Speaker 1: make Ole Miss feel some type of way. This is
• 1:19:52
Speaker 1: a game I saw just like with Clemson where they're
• 1:19:56
Speaker 1: going for two. We see Lane Kiffin, he's shooting hoops again,
• 1:19:59
Speaker 1: and they're up. double digits in the fourth quarter of
• 1:20:02
Speaker 1: this game. I like LSU a lot. I'm not going
• 1:20:06
Speaker 1: to pick LSU to win the SEC and Sam Leavitt
• 1:20:08
Speaker 1: to win the Heisman only to get to week three
• 1:20:10
Speaker 1: and turn my back on them now.
• 1:20:12
  Speaker 2: I love LSU.
• 1:20:13
Speaker 1: I'm going to go four units, three and a half,
• 1:20:16
Speaker 1: minus three and a half.
• 1:20:18
  Speaker 2: I like LSU a lot. I think, I mean, they
• 1:20:21
Speaker 2: have Trinidad. Deuce Alexander. I think the things that I'm
• 1:20:23
Speaker 2: going to... But like, he hasn't been.
• 1:20:26
Speaker 1: Like, he's rushed for, I think, like 30 less yards
• 1:20:29
Speaker 1: per game so far in the first two weeks. Their
• 1:20:31
Speaker 1: offensive line is a massive question mark, especially at the
• 1:20:34
Speaker 1: right tackle position. But the interior, they're not getting a
• 1:20:36
Speaker 1: whole lot of push. It's about 2.5 seconds. Like, it's
• 1:20:39
Speaker 1: a different breed of animal on the back end that's
• 1:20:41
Speaker 1: going to be able to cover guys faster. So, Trinidad's
• 1:20:44
Speaker 1: going to do what he does best. He's going to
• 1:20:45
Speaker 1: run around a lot. But I just like athletes. I
• 1:20:48
Speaker 1: like the athletes on the other side of the ball
• 1:20:49
Speaker 1: when things start to break down.
• 1:20:51
Speaker 2: The things that I'll like to keep an eye on,
• 1:20:52
Speaker 2: like watching the film and the interior of the offensive
• 1:20:55
Speaker 2: line for LSU is 52, that left guard, he was
• 1:20:57
Speaker 2: getting exposed against Louisiana Tech. It'll be interesting to see
• 1:21:00
Speaker 2: how they attack that side of the line of scrimmage.
• 1:21:03
Speaker 2: And then also offensively with LSU, they don't get to
• 1:21:08
Speaker 2: the quarterback very well. They're big up front. They got
• 1:21:11
Speaker 2: some big boys up front. But I think they might
• 1:21:14
Speaker 2: be too big. Like as far as attacking the perimeter,
• 1:21:17
Speaker 2: the depth on the D-line, like again, hitting the perimeter,
• 1:21:20
Speaker 2: hitting the wide running game, wide zones. And then also
• 1:21:24
Speaker 2: it's like trying to chase around Levitt. Like he's a
• 1:21:26
Speaker 2: dynamic quarterback. He's just got to protect the football. He's
• 1:21:28
Speaker 2: the one that could get them in trouble. So it'll
• 1:21:30
Speaker 2: be interesting to kind of watch that game from a
• 1:21:32
Speaker 2: schematic standpoint because LSU does have the favor of Joshua.
• 1:21:36
Speaker 3: Let's remember as we're sitting here next week coming off
• 1:21:40
Speaker 3: this game, it's going to be a huge emotional letdown
• 1:21:42
Speaker 3: for at least one team, if not both teams. LSU
• 1:21:45
Speaker 3: has A & M at home next weekend. Ole Miss
• 1:21:49
Speaker 3: has to go to Florida next weekend. So there's no
• 1:21:53
Speaker 3: time to get right. There's no time to disappear off
• 1:21:56
Speaker 3: the radar and do what Oregon's doing against Portland State
• 1:21:59
Speaker 3: this week, just to keep that in mind.
• 1:22:01
Speaker 2: Just keep an eye on that. Yeah, keep an eye
• 1:22:03
  Speaker 2: on that one.
• 1:22:03
  Speaker 3: Monitor that.
• 1:22:04
Speaker 2: Like some of the underdogs next week on the slate
• 1:22:06
Speaker 2: is what you're talking about.
• 1:22:07
  Speaker 3: Could be advantageous.
• 1:22:08
Speaker 2: Yeah, Texas A & M, kind of like that.
• 1:22:10
Speaker 1: I think LSU, this is a state, I mean, Like
• 1:22:16
Speaker 1: I said in the beginning, if this was a different
• 1:22:18
Speaker 1: logo that Lane Kiffin had no beef with publicly, I
• 1:22:23
Speaker 1: could see the talent of Ole Miss handling it. But
• 1:22:25
Speaker 1: this is just Lane Kiffin.
• 1:22:27
Speaker 2: Yeah. I think Chef said it.
• 1:22:29
Speaker 1: It's like they always have like a– they give up–
• 1:22:31
Speaker 1: like Lane Kiffin's teams always give up a stinker every year.
• 1:22:33
Speaker 1: He kept using the word stinker with me. And I'm like,
• 1:22:36
Speaker 1: all right, this is not that. Like this is– all
• 1:22:39
Speaker 1: eyes are on Ole Miss. The whole world is talking
• 1:22:42
Speaker 1: about this game. And I like, I like the agent
• 1:22:45
Speaker 1: of chaos. I like Wayne Giffen.
• 1:22:47
  Speaker 3: Hmm.
• 1:22:48
Speaker 2: Should we talk some underdogs? Let's talk underdogs, dude. Cause I,
• 1:22:52
Speaker 2: I like where I'm at. Who do you like underdog?
• 1:22:56
Speaker 2: Dog of the week.
• 1:22:57
Speaker 1: Uh, I like Eastern Washington plus 42 and a half
• 1:23:00
  Speaker 1: versus Washington.
• 1:23:02
Speaker 2: I think, uh, you talked about it a lot.
• 1:23:04
Speaker 1: We've talked about it as like Washington being a sleeper
• 1:23:06
Speaker 1: team in the big 10. I haven't seen anything on film.
• 1:23:09
  Speaker 2: They're just asleep. They're asleep.
• 1:23:11
  Speaker 3: They're a sleeper team.
• 1:23:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah, they're asleep.
• 1:23:12
Speaker 1: And I just– 42.5 points just in general is a
• 1:23:15
Speaker 1: lot to me. So, I mean, it's not going to
• 1:23:17
Speaker 1: be a competitive game, but I see Eastern Washington covering.
• 1:23:20
Speaker 2: I like that pick. And to your point on Washington, like,
• 1:23:23
Speaker 2: they can't– they're on the outside looking in at the
• 1:23:25
Speaker 2: Willie C Top 25. I'm going Kentucky with the points
• 1:23:29
  Speaker 2: this week. I think Texas A & M is a
• 1:23:31
Speaker 2: little overrated. Hmm. So I like Kentucky with the points.
• 1:23:34
Speaker 2: I want to say, what is the, I know it's
• 1:23:36
Speaker 2: double digits, but I like Kentucky. I like Kentucky at
• 1:23:40
  Speaker 2: A & M. And yeah, I think A & M
• 1:23:43
Speaker 2: is a little overrated. I don't think Marcel Reed has
• 1:23:45
Speaker 2: played like that well compared to him being in the
• 1:23:47
Speaker 2: Heisman conversation. And it's like, they played a pretty clean,
• 1:23:52
Speaker 2: pretty clean game, like one penalty, no turnovers. And they just,
• 1:23:57
Speaker 2: I don't know. They're not like the most exciting team
• 1:23:59
Speaker 2: to watch. Arizona State coughed the ball up several times.
• 1:24:03
Speaker 2: A lot of penalties. Look what happened to them. Yeah,
• 1:24:06
Speaker 2: look what happened to them. But I'm going to go, yeah,
• 1:24:08
Speaker 2: Kentucky with the points here against A & M.
• 1:24:11
Speaker 3: Oklahoma last week, as a favorite, lost. And they go home,
• 1:24:14
Speaker 3: and they're going to play a game no one's watching
• 1:24:16
Speaker 3: this week, except for me, because they're playing New Mexico.
• 1:24:19
Speaker 3: I've had this game circled since spring. I think it's
• 1:24:22
Speaker 3: a very dangerous spot for Oklahoma. New Mexico's getting 22
• 1:24:26
Speaker 3: and a half. New Mexico plus 22 and a half
• 1:24:29
Speaker 3: is my dog of the week.
• 1:24:31
Speaker 1: Perfect segue into our parlays. My first leg, I have
• 1:24:34
Speaker 1: Oklahoma covering 22 and a half versus New Mexico.
• 1:24:37
Speaker 2: Wounded animal theory. Everyone hates John Mateer now. I love
• 1:24:42
Speaker 2: John Mateer. He had a tough game, man. He had
• 1:24:44
Speaker 2: a tough game. I love John Mateer. I love this team.
• 1:24:46
  Speaker 1: I love 22 and a half.
• 1:24:48
Speaker 2: Brent Venables. You saw the vein coming out?
• 1:24:51
  Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
• 1:24:51
Speaker 1: He's just all red right now, and he wore sunblock
• 1:24:53
Speaker 1: for that game in Michigan. BYU versus Colorado. I have
• 1:24:56
Speaker 1: the over, 52 and a half. BYU's going to score
• 1:24:59
Speaker 1: a lot of points. The Graveyard had a comment about
• 1:25:01
Speaker 1: Colorado today, can't remember. So that's why I like them.
• 1:25:05
Speaker 1: And then Western Michigan, Rich Rodriguez, plus nine and a half.
• 1:25:07
Speaker 2: West Virginia? Sorry, yeah, what'd I say? Western Michigan. Sorry,
• 1:25:11
Speaker 2: I'm still thinking about them, bro. I'm still thinking about them.
• 1:25:14
Speaker 1: West Virginia, plus nine and a half versus Virginia. The
• 1:25:17
Speaker 1: total for that parlay is plus 636. I don't like
• 1:25:23
Speaker 1: this parlay. I love this parlay.
• 1:25:25
Speaker 2: I got a spicy one for you, fellas. Is it
• 1:25:28
Speaker 2: Delaney Walker spicy? What's Delaney Walker spicy? I think his
• 1:25:32
Speaker 2: parlay last week was plus 100, plus 105. No, I mean,
• 1:25:35
Speaker 2: it's low in yours, but it ain't plus 100. Virginia Moneyline.
• 1:25:41
Speaker 2: Love it. Over 50.5, LSU Ole Miss. Over 50.5, SMU Louisville.
• 1:25:49
Speaker 2: Notre Dame, Michigan State, under 52.5. USC Altline, minus 8.5
• 1:25:55
Speaker 2: versus Rutgers. And then Nebraska Cornhuskers, minus 12.5 Altline against
• 1:26:01
  Speaker 2: North Dakota. That's plus 497.
• 1:26:03
Speaker 3: Lost my mind. I'd love to take Clemson minus three
• 1:26:11
Speaker 3: and a half against North Carolina. I'd love to pair
• 1:26:14
Speaker 3: that up with Purdue plus 14 and a half against UCLA.
• 1:26:17
Speaker 3: Don't know what it returns, but I hit my parlay
• 1:26:20
  Speaker 3: last week.
• 1:26:21
Speaker 2: Do it again this week.
• 1:26:22
Speaker 3: And I'm going to try and do it again this week.
• 1:26:24
Speaker 2: I'm getting one this week. Fucking Iowa let my ass
• 1:26:27
Speaker 2: down last week. That's all we had left. Was it
• 1:26:29
  Speaker 2: three and a half? I forget what I, I took
• 1:26:31
Speaker 2: them on an alt line. I want to say they
• 1:26:33
  Speaker 2: were favored by.
• 1:26:34
Speaker 3: They were like, they were double digit.
• 1:26:35
Speaker 2: Double digit. And I took them at like Iowa minus
• 1:26:37
Speaker 2: six and a half.
• 1:26:38
Speaker 1: I would have expected them to mop Iowa State based
• 1:26:40
Speaker 1: on what Matt Campbell did to that program.
• 1:26:42
Speaker 3: You would have expected Washington to mop Utah State.
• 1:26:45
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:26:46
Speaker 3: Like there, there are a lot of, you would have
• 1:26:47
Speaker 3: expected Illinois to handle business against Duke.
• 1:26:50
Speaker 2: Big 10's kind of pissing down their leg right now
• 1:26:52
Speaker 2: as far as a conference.
• 1:26:53
  Speaker 3: It's early.
• 1:26:54
  Speaker 2: It's early, but.
• 1:26:55

• 1:27:00
Speaker 1: It's, Yeah, what the hell is Washington doing, man? It
• 1:27:04
Speaker 1: all started with, was it DeMond Williams? Him trying to
• 1:27:07
Speaker 1: go to LSU, signing the papers, and then all of
• 1:27:09
Speaker 1: a sudden, like, you know what, I'm not going to go.
• 1:27:11
Speaker 1: Then has to go back into a locker room and
• 1:27:12
Speaker 1: be like, I was just fucking around.
• 1:27:13
Speaker 2: Guys, I'm back. I was just messing around. Sneaky game
• 1:27:16
Speaker 2: this weekend, too. Virginia Tech, Maryland. Yes, very sneaky. Keep
• 1:27:20
Speaker 2: your eye on that game.
• 1:27:20

• 1:27:46
  Speaker 1: over again.
• 1:27:47
Speaker 3: I think he got stuck in a joke and then
• 1:27:49
Speaker 3: the joke wasn't resolving itself, but he said, I can't
• 1:27:52
Speaker 3: bail now. So he just kept saying it and it
• 1:27:54
Speaker 3: got really cringy, really, really quick.
• 1:27:56
Speaker 2: Got real uncomfortable. Yeah.
• 1:27:58
Speaker 3: It's like when you tee it up and you think
• 1:28:00
Speaker 3: the other guy knows what the spike on it is,
• 1:28:03
Speaker 3: but the guy's like.
• 1:28:04
