- 0:01Speaker 2: Jerry, Katie, and Josh. Fix 100.
- 0:03Speaker 1: What dress did you finally pick out? Katie came in
- 0:06Speaker 1: the other day with like nine dresses on her phone.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I did.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I did. And I bought one and then I brought
- 0:11Speaker 2: it back and bought a different one. And last night
- 0:13Speaker 2: I had a little fashion show for the baby Nana.
- 0:16Speaker 2: I sent her a bunch of pictures and which one
- 0:18Speaker 2: she liked. And funny enough, she liked the same one
- 0:21Speaker 2: you both liked. The brown one?
- 0:23Speaker 1: The polka dot.
- 0:23Speaker 2: No, no, no. Not the polka dot.
- 0:24Speaker 1: The brown one. I like the polka dot one.
- 0:27Speaker 2: No, you like the brown one, too, though. You said
- 0:29Speaker 2: you liked how- The front pockets? Yeah, the front pockets.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So that's what I have because it goes better- It
- 0:34Speaker 2: covers the cleave, too. Yeah, and it goes better with
- 0:36Speaker 2: the red heels I'm wearing. So it's- You know, all
- 0:40Speaker 2: in all, the better pick. And then I have a
- 0:42Speaker 2: fancy little purse that I'm wearing. I love it. I
- 0:45Speaker 2: love it. I'm very excited.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I did like that polka dot one, though. The polka
- 0:49Speaker 1: dot one just kind of was fun. It's eliches, kind of,
- 0:51Speaker 1: you know. Silly little night out. It was fun, but
- 0:55Speaker 1: I do like the brown one too.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I like the brown one much better.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'm weird.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It's a lot more like adult, I feel.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very classy. It's a classy looking dress.
- 1:03Speaker 1: I like cleave. Little cleave never hurt anybody.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I never hurt nobody.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But there is something about those dresses
- 1:10Speaker 1: that just start right under your neck right there and
- 1:12Speaker 1: go down and cover the cleave that I find incredibly attractive.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Very classy.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I feel like also there's not a limit, because you
- 1:19Speaker 2: can dress however the heck you want. Sure, sure. When
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'm looking at it, I liked that I'm showing off
- 1:24Speaker 2: my legs a little bit, showing off the arms, but
- 1:27Speaker 2: covering up the.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Rest, right? It's a little more professional, I guess.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Because you're around work people, too. Yeah, I'm around work people.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Don't want to be getting everyone all fired up.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Well, I can't wait to see it.
- 1:35Speaker 2: What are you guys wearing?
- 1:37Speaker 1: I got a SpongeBob t-shirt that I'm going to rock tonight. Oh,
- 1:39Speaker 1: let's go. You know it's fall because, well, Starby's just, well,
- 1:44Speaker 1: fall soon, because Starby's dropped their PSL this week. It's back.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I'm reading a story here that came out from Google.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Google searches for, quote, when do pumpkin spice lattes come out?
- 1:59Speaker 1: We're up 510% on the Google box. And they say
- 2:03Speaker 1: it has been searched more than ever before this year.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Pumpkin Spice Latte is also the top trending latte search
- 2:12Speaker 1: in the U.S., followed by Banana Bread Latte, Peanut Butter Latte,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and Hazelnut Latte. They say Pumpkin Spice searches start peaking
- 2:21Speaker 1: earlier and earlier and earlier every year. But on the
- 2:25Speaker 1: heels of that, you know, I just said the Banana
- 2:27Speaker 1: Bread Latte. There's also Banana Coffee Syrup that has been searched.
- 2:32Speaker 1: And caramel apple iced coffee. Both hit all-time highs this month.
- 2:37Speaker 1: But I will say bananas having a moment right now.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 1: There's a lot of banana stuff going on.
- 2:42Speaker 2: People are loving the banana latte especially. And there's all
- 2:45Speaker 2: kinds of recipes all over TikTok for it. And in fact,
- 2:48Speaker 2: even as you mentioned, Starby's there. They have a banana
- 2:52Speaker 2: forward fall menu.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I love banana bread as well.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Exactly. And I like it because they say you can
- 3:00Speaker 2: crush up walnuts and put it on top. So you
- 3:03Speaker 2: can really get it tasting like banana. I know you
- 3:05Speaker 2: don't like chocolate chips in your banana bread.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I don't like anything crunchy in my banana bread or
- 3:09Speaker 1: anything really sweet like that.
- 3:11Speaker 2: So some of the options have the chocolate flavor in
- 3:15Speaker 2: there as well. Either way, the banana option, I love it.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I love it. I love the pumpkin spice one, too,
- 3:22Speaker 2: so I like that we're just adding to the menu now.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Like, let's keep this going. Sometimes I just actually just
- 3:26Speaker 1: have a regular banana.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Oh.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Believe it or not. Look at you. Speaking of fall,
- 3:31Speaker 1: you've got this list about the fall fashion trends. And
- 3:33Speaker 1: I feel like this is a must read.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Because we've got a lot of ladies listening to this show.
- 3:37Speaker 2: We sure do.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And a lot of fashion forward ladies out there as well.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So what should we be looking for this fall?
- 3:43Speaker 2: Trench coats.
- 3:44Speaker 1: No.
- 3:45Speaker 2: What? I can't wait until I roll in here in
- 3:48Speaker 2: my trench coat and completely, hey, you guys.
- 3:51Speaker 1: That's only for creepers, right?
- 3:52Speaker 2: But with clothes on underneath. With clothes on underneath. But
- 3:55Speaker 2: I've always wanted to open my trench coat and just
- 3:58Speaker 2: like scare somebody. So yeah, fall 2026, expect trench coats
- 4:03Speaker 2: for both men and women.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Full length or the mini trench?
- 4:07Speaker 2: For the women, I think the full length is so...
- 4:11Speaker 2: Just sassy. I love the look of a full-length trench coat.
- 4:15Speaker 2: For guys, I think it's the mid-knee trench coat. That's
- 4:21Speaker 2: the solid look right there.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Can I pull it off with a pea coat? The
- 4:24Speaker 1: pea coat kind of goes down that far. I don't know.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Do the trench coat. That's the look this fall. Also,
- 4:30Speaker 2: earth-toned denim. So, you know, your jeans, your regular jeans.
- 4:34Speaker 2: I wore those yesterday.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I had like some brownish jeans.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yes, brown jeans, green jeans, tan jeans, all those earth tones.
- 4:41Speaker 2: They're really making a comeback for this next upcoming season.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I'm a fan as well. It's going to go perfect
- 4:47Speaker 2: with your suede sneakers, which is also a good look.
- 4:50Speaker 2: And that has been trending pretty hard for the last
- 4:52Speaker 2: few seasons. So expected to come back even more. And
- 4:56Speaker 2: then the last one, I love this. chocolate brown bag
- 5:00Speaker 2: so think of your you know kate spade your coach
- 5:04Speaker 2: but that nice deep chocolate brown color to go with
- 5:08Speaker 2: your trench coat and your suede sneakers.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I just bought a white Kate Spade for myself. Damn,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I guess I better take that back.
- 5:14Speaker 2: I know.
- 5:15Speaker 1: And my white jeans. My off-white jeans.
- 5:17Speaker 2: No more white. Not this season. But I like this.
- 5:20Speaker 2: That's good. I've always been a fan of the tan-like shirts.
- 5:24Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like the tan and the white.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And I just love those basic colors. So the fact
- 5:29Speaker 2: that they're going to be so poppin' this season, I'm
- 5:33Speaker 2: already ready already. Love it. Love it. Okay.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Can I just dress as a chocolate bar?
- 5:39Speaker 2: You know I love that too.
- 5:43Speaker 1: We got a spirit Halloween store opening up just down
- 5:45Speaker 1: the way. I think I'm going to just dress as
- 5:47Speaker 1: a chocolate bar. I'm very in season. Yes. Very chocolate brown.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Matches my underpants as well. Oh, ew. Ew.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Ew chair. I don't know if.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You guys knew this or not, but I'm pretty big
- 5:59Speaker 1: into the spice scene.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Are you?
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm part of a bunch of Reddit groups where
- 6:04Speaker 1: we talk about spices, and we trade spices and stuff.
- 6:08Speaker 1: It's a whole club.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It's a lifestyle. What's your nickname? Spice Guy.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Spice Guy. You know, Mr.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Spicy.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'm at Spice Guy on Instagram, which I should look
- 6:19Speaker 1: that up now to make sure that's nothing naughty. I know, right?
- 6:21Speaker 1: Because this is all very tongue-in-cheek right now. It's all
- 6:24Speaker 1: Spice Guy, some sort of horrible person.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Watch Spice Guy.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, I'm pretty tapped into the spice scene.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I talk a lot. I speak at schools about it.
- 6:32Speaker 2: I love spices.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm a fan. Yeah, you can't cook without them.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Watch me with my garlic powder. Watch out. I always
- 6:38Speaker 1: keep a handful of garlic powder in my front pocket
- 6:41Speaker 1: in case I'm being mugged or something on the street,
- 6:42Speaker 1: and I throw it at the perp.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Right in the eyes.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Also for vampires. Yeah. I know.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 6:49Speaker 2: You're prepared.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's very important. Yeah. This is stuff we talk about
- 6:52Speaker 1: in our chat groups. Well, I was up there at
- 6:55Speaker 1: Colorado State University talking to some of the researchers up there,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and we were chatting about whether or not our hot,
- 7:02Speaker 1: dry summers here in Colorado, paired with our cold winters,
- 7:07Speaker 1: could make this big, goofy rectangle we live in the
- 7:11Speaker 1: ideal place to grow saffron.
- 7:13Speaker 2: What? Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Saffron. Saffron.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I want to do that.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You're like me. I was like, saffron?
- 7:19Speaker 2: Tell me more. I want to be a saffron farmer. Really?
- 7:21Speaker 1: They call it red gold because how labor intensive it
- 7:25Speaker 1: is to produce.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Current market prices for saffron is about $ 10, 000 per pound
- 7:29Speaker 1: of it.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It's hard to keep alive. I can't keep an air
- 7:35Speaker 2: plant alive.
- 7:36Speaker 1: So maybe I need to rethink this. So you've got
- 7:39Speaker 1: to dig deep into the agriculture with this. But Colorado
- 7:41Speaker 1: might be the perfect spot to start growing saffron.
- 7:44Speaker 2: No, it's amazing because it is really expensive. I mean,
- 7:46Speaker 2: even if you go into the grocery store and get
- 7:48Speaker 2: a little jar of saffron, that's going to put you
- 7:50Speaker 2: back at least $ 30. And it's really low-quality saffron. You
- 7:54Speaker 2: have to use twice as much for the flavor profile.
- 7:58Speaker 2: But you put it in paella. You can throw saffron in.
- 8:01Speaker 1: A lot of- Not in paella. Yes, in a lot
- 8:02Speaker 1: of- I've never put it in paella.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Why not? That's where it goes.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Honey, where's the saffron? I'm making paella.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I love paella.
- 8:09Speaker 1: My brother-in-law, he's from Venezuela. He makes a lot of paella.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I bet it's good with the crispy rice on
- 8:15Speaker 2: the bottom. It's fine. Because you have to have the
- 8:18Speaker 2: right pan to make paella.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Yeah, he does.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Then you have to get it all crispy. He's got
- 8:22Speaker 2: a pan. You don't like paella?
- 8:24Speaker 1: What? I lie when I go to the- To the
- 8:28Speaker 1: events at their house where they make paella. Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 2: This is delicious. What?
- 8:33Speaker 1: Not a fan of the paella.
- 8:34Speaker 2: That's cruel.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Right now, my sister is hearing this and freaking out.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'm like, not enough saffron in it.
- 8:40Speaker 2: You said you love my paella.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I'm a liar. I don't like the paella. Anyway, I'd
- 8:46Speaker 1: love me some saffron. I know there's a black market
- 8:48Speaker 1: for saffron. I've been involved in the black market saffron
- 8:51Speaker 1: trade for a few years, but- This is pretty exciting
- 8:54Speaker 1: stuff for Colorado.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It really is. I mean, we grow a lot of
- 8:57Speaker 2: stuff here, whether it's produce, you know.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:01Speaker 2: So we might as.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Well throw saffron in there as well. Get into the
- 9:03Speaker 1: saffron game. Exactly.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Our soil is rich. What else do you put saffron on?
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't even know. It's used for dyes, isn't it?
- 9:12Speaker 1: A lot of dyes.
- 9:12Speaker 2: You put it in paella. You put it in risotto.
- 9:15Speaker 2: You can put it in bouillabaisse, cioppino. You can put
- 9:20Speaker 2: it in a lot of seafood dishes. Oh, you want
- 9:22Speaker 2: to up your mashed potato game? Throw some saffron up.
- 9:25Speaker 1: In those taters. Oh, I'm going to get on my
- 9:27Speaker 1: Reddit thread and talk about that immediately.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yes, do it.
- 9:31Speaker 1: All right. Number one morning show in saffron news right
- 9:34Speaker 1: here at Mix.
