- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are, last break of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: day and it's been a great day. Wow, what a
- 0:06Speaker 1: day it has been. Steve, you got some forces A question, Carlin,
- 0:14Speaker 1: question for Steve. Yeah, so here's my question, listening. No,
- 0:20Speaker 1: it's not it is me trying to say. But I
- 0:27Speaker 1: know Steve was looking at me like, uh, didn't Carlin,
- 0:30Speaker 1: just like she had a question. I'm sorry, I'm out,
- 0:34Speaker 1: I blacked out. Here's my question, Steve. How do you
- 0:37Speaker 1: show up for yourself every day? How do you do that?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Is it?
- 0:42Speaker 2: Is it?
- 0:42Speaker 1: As I know, it's a struggle sometimes.
- 0:46Speaker 2: You know. I guess I would have to say a
- 0:48Speaker 2: person has to make a commitment MH to your vision,
- 0:56Speaker 2: to your dreams, to your aspirations, and you got to
- 0:59Speaker 2: get admitted to that. And you have to really understand
- 1:04Speaker 2: that this is based solely on you making the decision
- 1:08Speaker 2: every day that I'm gonna be about it. And if
- 1:11Speaker 2: you're not gonna be about it, you can stop looking
- 1:14Speaker 2: around because it's really on you. It's really not about
- 1:19Speaker 2: anybody else. It's really not what they saying about you online.
- 1:24Speaker 2: It's not about how they feel about you on your
- 1:26Speaker 2: job and nothing to do with your coworkers. Your boss
- 1:30Speaker 2: might have a certain amount of control in certain situations,
- 1:33Speaker 2: but your boss is not in control of your destiny
- 1:36Speaker 2: and your life unless you give it to him. And
- 1:41Speaker 2: I've chosen not to give permission to anybody to have
- 1:46Speaker 2: control over my life or my destiny except my God.
- 1:51Speaker 2: That's it, and I have made a conscious commitment. It's
- 1:57Speaker 2: what you gotta do, y'all. You gotta decide, I'm gonna
- 2:00Speaker 2: be about it today. I'm gonna be about it in
- 2:04Speaker 2: spite of I'm gonna be about it, in spite of
- 2:07Speaker 2: the fact that I don't really feel myself today. I'm
- 2:10Speaker 2: gonna be about it. I'm gonna be about it no
- 2:13Speaker 2: matter what they say. I'm gonna be about it, no
- 2:16Speaker 2: matter what the naysayers have come up with. I don't
- 2:19Speaker 2: care what the vote is. I really don't care. I
- 2:23Speaker 2: can't tell you how many times I have had to
- 2:26Speaker 2: ignore what's being said about me, and you have to
- 2:31Speaker 2: do that. I can't tell you how many times you're
- 2:34Speaker 2: gonna have to ignore their opinion of you. You have
- 2:39Speaker 2: got to make a commitment in your mind that you're
- 2:42Speaker 2: gonna be about it. And you know you hear the
- 2:46Speaker 2: saying that the race isn't given to the swift, but
- 2:49Speaker 2: to him that endure it to the end. You got
- 2:53Speaker 2: to endure, man, this is not going to be simple
- 2:57Speaker 2: or easy. You have got to be persistent because guess
- 3:03Speaker 2: what life gonna keep coming and what you have to
- 3:08Speaker 2: factor into it every day is the haters is coming
- 3:11Speaker 2: to They coming. And the crazy thing like now in
- 3:17Speaker 2: the world we live in today is because of social
- 3:20Speaker 2: media and technology, hater's got a voice, hater's got a platform.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Who used to never be able to even have access
- 3:29Speaker 2: to you. So you gotta be careful with with trolling
- 3:33Speaker 2: and social media and all of these stuff. Man, you
- 3:37Speaker 2: can't let that be in your life because man, you'll
- 3:41Speaker 2: get caught up in that. I forgot what I was
- 3:43Speaker 2: watching the other day and the person was so hung
- 3:47Speaker 2: up on the social media and what they were saying. Oh,
- 3:51Speaker 2: I know what I was watching. I was watching a
- 3:54Speaker 2: documentary on meg the Stallion I was on the plane
- 4:00Speaker 2: was watching, which is a really good thing. You know,
- 4:01Speaker 2: these young people they document so much of their life
- 4:04Speaker 2: because they got phone cameras and they got somebody following
- 4:06Speaker 2: them for social media content. But if you keep it
- 4:09Speaker 2: on long enough, you start hearing the real and Meg
- 4:13Speaker 2: the Stallion was really going through it with that trial,
- 4:15Speaker 2: with that with that guy that shot her and all
- 4:18Speaker 2: like this, and then so many people sided against her
- 4:21Speaker 2: and it started affecting her mentally where she was having
- 4:25Speaker 2: anxiety and depression and all of this here. And she
- 4:29Speaker 2: said at one moment, she said, every time something would happen,
- 4:34Speaker 2: she would see what the post was saying, and they
- 4:37Speaker 2: was eating her up and it was throwing her into
- 4:40Speaker 2: something and she said, I gotta stop reading and stuff. Well,
- 4:44Speaker 2: you gotta stop reading it because now you're allowing someone
- 4:48Speaker 2: else to have an opinion about you that don't even
- 4:50Speaker 2: know you, and and what's more important, do not even
- 4:55Speaker 2: care about you. So I developed a couple of I
- 5:00Speaker 2: developed a couple of coping mechanisms. Number one, if you
- 5:06Speaker 2: don't have my cell number, I don't care what you think.
- 5:11Speaker 2: I don't And that has really helped, because if you're
- 5:15Speaker 2: important to me, you probably have my number. And if
- 5:19Speaker 2: my number ain't lit up with texts from people who
- 5:22Speaker 2: actually have access to me, what do I care about you? Online?
- 5:27Speaker 2: And then you have to understand about trollers and haters.
- 5:31Speaker 2: They are not decision makers, power brokers, shakers and movers.
- 5:35Speaker 2: They're none of that. They just hate us. So I
- 5:40Speaker 2: have decided that I'm going to show up every day,
- 5:45Speaker 2: even when I don't feel like it. Just showing up
- 5:48Speaker 2: makes you win. Man. Just showing up put you ahead
- 5:52Speaker 2: of the game. Do you know how many people are
- 5:55Speaker 2: not gonna show up? You know how many people gonna quit?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Not me. I made a commitment to show up. I'm
- 6:03Speaker 2: showing up. Just show up, man, Just keep putting one
- 6:07Speaker 2: foot in front of the next. Keep showing up. There's
- 6:12Speaker 2: a victory on the other side of it. And I
- 6:14Speaker 2: don't care how uncomfortable it is. But I've discovered one
- 6:18Speaker 2: last thing. Everything I've ever wanted in life was on
- 6:22Speaker 2: the other side of uncomfortable. I just keep putting my
- 6:26Speaker 2: foot in front of the other. I don't care how
- 6:27Speaker 2: uncomfortable it is. I'm committed to the show up. Thank
- 6:30Speaker 2: you for asking, because those are my clothings. Why sure,
- 6:36Speaker 2: that's why they talk to God today. He'd absolutely love
- 6:39Speaker 2: to hear front of it.
