- 0:08Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 0:26Speaker 2: He started to put a little.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Curse on me.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I said no.
- 0:33Speaker 1: He said oh.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Put me back in my tube. All right, so once again,
- 0:41Speaker 3: we're out in the world, and I'm on the fly
- 0:44Speaker 3: trying to think, what have I seen lately? Now, this
- 0:46Speaker 3: pulled up really old ones, and I was in like
- 0:48Speaker 3: a fancy new store, which as a movie connoisseur, I'm
- 0:55Speaker 3: using that pretty loosely.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I think most people will agree.
- 0:57Speaker 3: But, okay, as a movie geek enough that I'm still
- 1:00Speaker 3: buying physical media like a dork, it still shocks me
- 1:04Speaker 3: when new ones come out and they're charging new prices.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I'm like, what year is this?
- 1:11Speaker 3: Because this one, it's a Blu-ray at least, and it's
- 1:14Speaker 3: a special set, but it's $ 39.
- 1:17Speaker 2: 99. And this other one, oh, this one's down to $ 29.
- 1:20Speaker 4: 99, so.
- 1:22Speaker 3: There were these ones I was in like a regular
- 1:24Speaker 3: store and I was just like, wait, The Awakening. It's
- 1:29Speaker 3: a mummy movie with Charlton Heston.
- 1:32Speaker 2: What the hell? So I'm like.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I want to watch this weird mummy movie with Charlton
- 1:37Speaker 3: Heston in it. And is he going to start talking
- 1:39Speaker 3: about God at some point? Because as he got older,
- 1:42Speaker 3: he veered into let's talk about the Bible a whole lot.
- 1:46Speaker 1: He played God's little buddy one time.
- 1:49Speaker 3: He did cross paths with the Jesus dude, so maybe
- 1:52Speaker 3: that's it. Maybe at that point he really crossed paths
- 1:54Speaker 3: with Jesus. And he was like, oh, I've been doing
- 1:57Speaker 3: this wrong all along. I thought it was all about apes.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Turns out it's the Lord. We all pick our own religion.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'm kind of leaning towards the apes, but whatever. So
- 2:08Speaker 2: there was that one, but also the.
- 2:12Speaker 2: The Invisible Man appears.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Oh. Which I think when I looked it up is
- 2:18Speaker 3: like a Japanese version of the Invisible Man saga, like
- 2:22Speaker 3: inspired by old school Universal. And then Japan was like,
- 2:26Speaker 3: we can do our stuff. So, yeah.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Are there giant flying robots in it?
- 2:31Speaker 2: I'm going to guess. I mean, there's got to be
- 2:33Speaker 2: a kaiju by the end.
- 2:34Speaker 3: So, I mean, sooner or later we get to all
- 2:36Speaker 3: the good stuff, but also Invisible Men. So, these are
- 2:39Speaker 3: things we could be watching. If you don't give us
- 2:43Speaker 3: a better option. Although I'd rather watch both of those.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I think you should join the club and give us
- 2:49Speaker 3: either of those two movies. And I don't know that
- 2:51Speaker 3: we'll buy them for full price. But we'll see what
- 2:54Speaker 3: we can do.
- 2:54Speaker 4: We'll find them somewhere.
- 2:55Speaker 3: We'll find something to watch. Otherwise we just pick our
- 2:59Speaker 3: own nonsense for the holidays and then we say things
- 3:02Speaker 3: like this.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And nobody's happy.
- 3:05Speaker 3: And nobody's happy.
- 3:08Speaker 4: So I mean it could go downhill really fast but
- 3:11Speaker 4: so far it's really fun it's kind of like succession.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But like family drama but spooky.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Your eyeballs are always wet you know that oh go
- 3:22Speaker 3: ahead touch them touch your eyeball bet it feels wet.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Friends at home touch your eyeball.
- 3:30Speaker 3: But he's one of the creepy ghosts, and he looks
- 3:33Speaker 3: like a creepy ghost the whole time.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He looks like a creepy ghost anyway.
- 3:36Speaker 3: If he bothered to show up on set, they covered
- 3:40Speaker 3: him up, and you can't tell. So I was like,
- 3:41Speaker 3: you could have gotten anybody. Why did you bother to
- 3:45Speaker 3: pay him to show up? Because you can't tell it's him.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's just a creepy ghost, and he looks like CGI.
- 3:50Speaker 2: So what are we doing? What are we doing here?
- 3:54Speaker 1: The really horrifying thing in that movie was Anne Margaret.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Well, she's disturbing as Anne Margaret. She is just a
- 4:02Speaker 2: crazy woman. I just wanted a little box that said,
- 4:06Speaker 2: I want to eat your brain.
- 4:07Speaker 3: And I didn't, and now I sort of regret it.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I think it warped my brain as a child, and
- 4:15Speaker 3: that's why I am the weirdo.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Warped or molded.
- 4:18Speaker 2: We'll say both. I think it's the reason I am
- 4:21Speaker 2: the way I am today.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And by mold, I mean that stuff on the bathroom wall.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I'm legally barred from beatboxing.
- 4:28Speaker 2: That's probably for the best.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is.
- 4:30Speaker 3: So, we once again will refer to a specific member
- 4:36Speaker 3: of the cast for certain specifics.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Oh, you guys are getting so many period stories.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Yes! Fantastic.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I had no idea what I was walking into. I
- 4:46Speaker 1: was not expecting anything great. But within the first 30 seconds,
- 4:51Speaker 1: I was smiling so hard. My face hurt. At a
- 4:57Speaker 1: certain point, I forgot that I was surrounded by other people.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I was so engrossed in it. Yeah, it was amazing.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And it is weird, you know, but it's weird.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I would hope so, really.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's weird in its own context. And it's like equal
- 5:17Speaker 1: parts John Waters and Frankenstein and My Fair Lady, oddly enough.
- 5:23Speaker 1: All good things.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Arguably longer than it needs to be.
- 5:28Speaker 3: For what I guess would still be considered a kid's movie,
- 5:31Speaker 3: it's like two hours long.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 5:34Speaker 3: A lot of story in something that's based around a
- 5:37Speaker 3: ride that.
- 5:37Speaker 2: If I remember, doesn't really have a story. It's got
- 5:41Speaker 2: creepy gimmicks to it, but not really a running overall
- 5:45Speaker 2: tale that we're telling. It's just kind of.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I would be okay with a tale on a girl,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I think. But in this movie, I thought it was,
- 5:55Speaker 1: when they show it the first time, I was like,
- 5:57Speaker 1: that's so adorable.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I know.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I was like, oh, God, once again, oh.
- 6:02Speaker 1: There's only one scene, and I don't want to give
- 6:04Speaker 1: too much away, but there's one scene that kind of
- 6:07Speaker 1: takes you out of the whole story. And you're like,
- 6:10Speaker 1: what's going on? And I can only sum it up
- 6:14Speaker 1: as interspecies woodland creature orgy.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Oh. Hot.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Who knew being spiteful could be so much work?
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm ignoring the fact that Philip has stuck a gummy
- 6:29Speaker 2: onto his forehead. It won't come off. Oh, it's going
- 6:32Speaker 2: to morph into your head now. And then blood everywhere.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And it was like, why does that lady in the
- 6:43Speaker 1: woods have antlers? And again, that's right before the orgy scene. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: the suicide montage was adorable.
- 6:55Speaker 2: It was great. Sorry, Mothman showed up. He would understand.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I mean, I guess you have like the list, right?
- 7:03Speaker 3: Like, if I run into any of these celebrities or cryptids,
- 7:08Speaker 3: I gotta pass.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Sorry, honey. Mothman's here.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Gotta go. Well, his is that he would.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Goatman.
- 7:15Speaker 4: If an alien came down to Earth and wanted to
- 7:17Speaker 4: have sex with him, that I have to allow him
- 7:19Speaker 4: to bang the alien.
- 7:21Speaker 2: I've got some videos on the internet you can watch.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I feel like that's the sort of thing that you
- 7:26Speaker 1: would respond, well, you just go right ahead.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm like, okay.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Whether you mean that or not.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Like, were that situation to ever come up.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Do you get to or are you forced to watch?
- 7:39Speaker 2: I don't want to watch.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Maybe for humanity purposes, be like, well, I got to
- 7:42Speaker 3: document this for the earth. I mean, go ahead, honey.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Let's go. Yeah, I guess.
- 7:48Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 7:49Speaker 4: If I get to bang Mothman, then he gets to
- 7:52Speaker 4: bang an alien.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Anywho, back to werewolves. Anyway, werewolves.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And brains. So, if you'd like to get in on
- 8:01Speaker 3: all of that fun, or stop us from saying more
- 8:04Speaker 3: things like that, yeah, go to MovieMeltdown.com, join the Meltdown
- 8:08Speaker 3: Horror Club, and give us either of the earlier movies mentioned,
- 8:11Speaker 3: or come up with your own better option so we don't,
- 8:15Speaker 3: you know, say things like that.
