- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, guys. I've made a lot of hard videos. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: feel like every once in a while I swing in
- 0:06Speaker 1: and I tell you something that I had lived through
- 0:09Speaker 1: or been through. And it was like, you know, a
- 0:12Speaker 1: hard video to make. But this is definitely going to
- 0:16Speaker 1: be the hardest. It's something that I am living in constantly.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's something that's happening to the number one person in
- 0:27Speaker 1: my whole world. I put my life out. And I
- 0:31Speaker 1: remember deciding, you know, two years ago when this whole
- 0:34Speaker 1: TikTok thing started that I had a choice. And I
- 0:38Speaker 1: was like, I can be a version of myself. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: can be myself, but a bit of a twist. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: could guard myself a little bit. But at the end
- 0:48Speaker 1: of the day, I tried on a few of those
- 0:50Speaker 1: different things. And the only thing that really felt comfortable
- 0:54Speaker 1: was when I was exactly who I am. And in
- 1:01Speaker 1: being that, I shared the most intimate moments of my
- 1:04Speaker 1: life and I've continued to. And I think I found
- 1:06Speaker 1: it easy because I don't want to use the word lonely.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Not that I'm a lonely person. I don't go out
- 1:17Speaker 1: and I don't really have friends. I work a lot
- 1:21Speaker 1: and I have my group, which is my brother and
- 1:25Speaker 1: my husband. And I have some, you know, I have
- 1:27Speaker 1: some friends that mean a lot to me, but none
- 1:28Speaker 1: of them live here. They're not people I see on
- 1:31Speaker 1: a daily basis. You know, we snap. I'm really thankful.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I would say I have like, you know, two best friends. Um,
- 1:40Speaker 1: I would say it was Chris and Lord. I have
- 1:43Speaker 1: my manager who's awesome. And then I have my husband
- 1:46Speaker 1: and my brother and that's my whole wide world. So
- 1:49Speaker 1: I found it easy to put myself on the internet
- 1:51Speaker 1: because when you talk to a camera and I know
- 1:54Speaker 1: there's people there, but this disconnect comes. And when I
- 1:58Speaker 1: see people in real life, they come up to me
- 2:00Speaker 1: and they ask me questions about my life and things
- 2:04Speaker 1: that are going on. And for a moment, I'm like, wait,
- 2:07Speaker 1: how do you know this? And how do you know
- 2:08Speaker 1: these things? And it's like, does Selena, you literally put
- 2:11Speaker 1: this out for anybody to see? A few months ago,
- 2:14Speaker 1: a month ago, a month and a half, maybe two,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I finally told the world about Adam. I'm such an
- 2:25Speaker 1: ugly crier and I know this is going to be
- 2:26Speaker 1: such a mess. Adam and I started dating when I
- 2:32Speaker 1: was a teenager. I was at this really weird period
- 2:38Speaker 1: in my life. A lot of really bad things had happened.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And in a previous video, I talk about what happened
- 2:48Speaker 1: with the Victoria Stafford case. A little girl in my
- 2:50Speaker 1: town who was murdered. Murdered. And the man who murdered
- 2:55Speaker 1: her and how I dealt with him with stalking and
- 2:59Speaker 1: how I had to testify against him and stuff in court.
- 3:07Speaker 1: This weird thing had happened in me then. And as
- 3:11Speaker 1: I talked about in that video, I just always felt
- 3:13Speaker 1: guilty in such a huge part of it. And I
- 3:15Speaker 1: just didn't want to be loved. And I didn't think
- 3:18Speaker 1: I deserved love. And I was not on a good path.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And I was free-falling, openly spiraling. I was dropping out
- 3:29Speaker 1: of school. I was being reckless. I was doing things
- 3:35Speaker 1: I shouldn't do. And I'd gone to this psychic who
- 3:39Speaker 1: said I'd marry an Adam with blue eyes. And that's
- 3:42Speaker 1: a story I've shared on TikTok. And I kind of
- 3:45Speaker 1: put it out to all my friends, like, who knows
- 3:47Speaker 1: an Adam with blue eyes? I need to, like, something
- 3:49Speaker 1: needs to happen here. And one person knew Adam and
- 3:54Speaker 1: gave me their number and the rest was history. We
- 4:02Speaker 1: met and I knew that day. I knew that day.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's weird when you meet someone and it's just easy
- 4:13Speaker 1: and you're not ever at each other's throats and you
- 4:17Speaker 1: have a kind of compassion and care for them That
- 4:21Speaker 1: you've just never felt. And I feel like sometimes it's
- 4:24Speaker 1: beyond a true love. And I feel like with Adam,
- 4:27Speaker 1: it's beyond true love. It's beyond soulmates. I feel like
- 4:32Speaker 1: a psychic actually said this to me. I know I
- 4:33Speaker 1: bring it up a lot, but you guys know what
- 4:35Speaker 1: I love. But she said we've been together for a
- 4:38Speaker 1: lot of lifetimes. And I believe that. Because when I
- 4:43Speaker 1: look at him... I know that I've known him forever.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And watching him... fade away... and knowing there's nothing I
- 5:11Speaker 1: can do... has been... devastating. Let me rewind. In 2014, okay,
- 5:29Speaker 1: let's start. I need to back up. We got married
- 5:32Speaker 1: in 2013. I was literally a baby. But I was
- 5:35Speaker 1: just like, I want to lock it down. I freaking
- 5:37Speaker 1: love this guy. He is the kindest, sweetest, most gentle soul.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And when I say gentle and kind, there is not
- 5:46Speaker 1: a mean bone in this man's body. There is not
- 5:51Speaker 1: a mean thought. And he loves fiercely. And he always
- 5:57Speaker 1: pushed me to be who I wanted to be. And
- 5:59Speaker 1: when everyone else told me I was silly, he had
- 6:02Speaker 1: my back. Whatever crazy dream I dreamed up, he made
- 6:06Speaker 1: it happen. Whatever thing I wanted, he made it happen.
- 6:10Speaker 1: If there was a trip or a place, he made
- 6:12Speaker 1: it happen. And I like to hope that I was
- 6:16Speaker 1: good for him too. And I remember, you know, he
- 6:19Speaker 1: was kind of a partier in high school and... His
- 6:22Speaker 1: mom worked at the hospital. And my mom had been
- 6:24Speaker 1: there for an appointment. And she just said to him.
- 6:26Speaker 1: She said to my mom. She's good for him. Because
- 6:30Speaker 1: he really partied. He was a weekend warrior. And I
- 6:32Speaker 1: think I really calmed him down. He calmed me down too.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I always say everyone needs an Adam. In a part
- 6:42Speaker 1: of their life. But yeah. We were kids. He was
- 6:47Speaker 1: six years older than me. And we got married so young. And.
- 6:51Speaker 1: And I know a lot of people were like, oh
- 6:52Speaker 1: my God, what's going to happen? Is this going to
- 6:55Speaker 1: make it through? We've in total been together for 13
- 6:58Speaker 1: or 14 years. We're not just a fling anymore. But
- 7:06Speaker 1: after we got married, I got pregnant six months later
- 7:12Speaker 1: or something like that. And after that happened, I had
- 7:15Speaker 1: a miscarriage as I've talked about before. I got really sick.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And somehow... I had been, I had, my pregnancy had
- 7:23Speaker 1: triggered Meniere's disease. So I had really bad vertigo and
- 7:26Speaker 1: I had to leave work. And I spent like a
- 7:28Speaker 1: year in the bathroom, two years not working at all.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And he never questioned me and he never got sick
- 7:34Speaker 1: of me. And he never got sick of me up
- 7:36Speaker 1: throwing up in the middle of the night. Cause I
- 7:38Speaker 1: was so dizzy. Like he let me heal. He let
- 7:42Speaker 1: me lay in bed for days at a time. And
- 7:43Speaker 1: when I went to a dark place, he, he got
- 7:45Speaker 1: me out of there. He ran those baths. He bought
- 7:47Speaker 1: me those ice creams. He did everything, everything. I started
- 7:54Speaker 1: this candle company in 2016 when I was feeling better
- 7:57Speaker 1: and it was awesome. And even though he worked five
- 8:00Speaker 1: days a week on that Saturday, he'd wake up at
- 8:03Speaker 1: buck crack in the morning and he would help me
- 8:06Speaker 1: lug all those candles to the market. And he'd be
- 8:08Speaker 1: there at six o'clock and he would help me set
- 8:10Speaker 1: up all these candles and sell them. And like, this
- 8:13Speaker 1: is so not this dude thing. Adam is a dude's dude.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Like when I say he is a dude's dude, he
- 8:19Speaker 1: played hockey growing up. He, loves fishing. He loves biking.
- 8:24Speaker 1: He loves hiking. He was such an outdoorsman. Like he
- 8:29Speaker 1: can golf like nobody's business. He can fish like nobody's business.
- 8:32Speaker 1: He loved mountain biking. It was go, go, go. He
- 8:36Speaker 1: had so much fun going and going on trips with
- 8:38Speaker 1: his family and his friends and making memories. In May 2017,
- 8:56Speaker 1: he was in the backyard working on his garden. And
- 9:00Speaker 1: there was this post. It was a 2x4 or a 2x2.
- 9:03Speaker 1: And it was stuck in the ground. He was wrenching
- 9:06Speaker 1: on it. And he was wrenching on it. And it
- 9:08Speaker 1: snuck back and it hit him square here in the forehead.
- 9:12Speaker 1: And he hit himself hard, but he didn't really think
- 9:16Speaker 1: anything of it. It was a really hot day. Maybe
- 9:19Speaker 1: it was June. June. But it was really hot. And
- 9:22Speaker 1: with the Humidex, it was hot. Like here in Canada,
- 9:24Speaker 1: even though it can be early in summer or late
- 9:26Speaker 1: in spring, we can have some really, really hot days.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And he kept working. And that was on the Saturday
- 9:32Speaker 1: or the Sunday. Monday, he went to work. And he
- 9:36Speaker 1: called me and he was like, something's wrong. I don't
- 9:38Speaker 1: feel right. Comes home. He is white as a ghost.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And he is blue. He has these big blue bags
- 9:46Speaker 1: under his eyes. And like dramatic looking. And I was like,
- 9:50Speaker 1: we need to go to the hospital. So while we're there,
- 9:53Speaker 1: the emergency doctor says, yeah, you definitely have a concussion.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Let's get you a doctor's note for a few days off.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So we took a few days off. And that few
- 10:06Speaker 1: days turned into the year of silence. Couldn't go back
- 10:12Speaker 1: to work. I sold off the candle company. We couldn't
- 10:21Speaker 1: have the TV on. There couldn't be music. And he
- 10:25Speaker 1: sat in this lazy boy chair. In silence. Not much light.
- 10:35Speaker 1: No sound. For a year. But we had hope. And
- 10:49Speaker 1: he went to a special clinic for his brain. He
- 10:54Speaker 1: got better a little bit. Got back to work. But
- 10:59Speaker 1: something wasn't right still. One day we decided we were
- 11:03Speaker 1: going to go for a run. And he ran. We
- 11:08Speaker 1: ran hard. We're like, we're going to get fit. This
- 11:10Speaker 1: is our chance. And I think we knew that night
- 11:15Speaker 1: something wasn't right. It's like his blood had pumped too
- 11:17Speaker 1: hard or something or The bouncing had done something because
- 11:19Speaker 1: we had been so delicate with him. And everything got
- 11:24Speaker 1: so bad so fast. Little tiny things started setting him
- 11:32Speaker 1: backwards and backwards. He'd lift something heavy. We were at
- 11:38Speaker 1: this point where he couldn't do anything he loved. And
- 11:42Speaker 1: that's where we are now. like there's a lot of
- 11:54Speaker 1: things that I want to say but I still want
- 11:58Speaker 1: to keep private but it's hard because you know I
- 12:06Speaker 1: do let the people in on a lot of things
- 12:08Speaker 1: and then in public people come up and they're like
- 12:10Speaker 1: well how's Adam and it's like I wanted to tell
- 12:13Speaker 1: the internet world and I know you're a part of
- 12:15Speaker 1: that internet world but like I don't want to talk
- 12:17Speaker 1: about it in real life And that's what all these
- 12:21Speaker 1: strangers always ask me. And I love anyone who comes
- 12:24Speaker 1: up to me and I say strangers, but I know
- 12:26Speaker 1: your followers and I consider you my friends, but it's
- 12:29Speaker 1: so hard when you've met someone and they're like, how's
- 12:31Speaker 1: your husband? And it's like, I can't talk about that
- 12:35Speaker 1: because it's really sensitive for me and for him. I
- 12:42Speaker 1: could explain how it kept getting worse, but I think
- 12:46Speaker 1: I more so just want to explain how it is now.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I don't really think Adam has quality of life. There's
- 13:11Speaker 1: never a moment that he's comfortable. Never. He has to
- 13:21Speaker 1: be in his own room. And he can't really do anything.
- 13:26Speaker 1: With his arms. Everything makes him worse. At this point.
- 13:35Speaker 1: He can hold his phone. And he can feed himself.
- 13:39Speaker 1: You know, we've found clothing that he can put on himself.
- 13:49Speaker 1: But we have like a mechanical bed. But sleeping is
- 13:53Speaker 1: so bad. Even laying on his own head. From this concussion.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Is too much. And if maybe. In a certain moment
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the night. For four minutes he has his head
- 14:04Speaker 1: the wrong way. The whole next day is just. A spiral.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And I want to keep up. With everything that's going
- 14:16Speaker 1: on in my life. Because that's the one thing without him.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Even though he is so uncomfortable. And he is living through.
- 14:22Speaker 1: The hardest time of his life. He's like, the only
- 14:25Speaker 1: thing that makes me happy is seeing you happy and
- 14:27Speaker 1: seeing you grow and seeing you do all of these
- 14:30Speaker 1: things and do well at all of these things. But like,
- 14:36Speaker 1: it's so hard to leave knowing that the whole time
- 14:40Speaker 1: I'm gone, he's going to be sitting in one spot
- 14:44Speaker 1: or laying in one spot. Can't really watch television. He
- 14:52Speaker 1: goes on the computer, which is awesome. And he really
- 14:55Speaker 1: takes care of, like, my whole world. But, like, you
- 14:58Speaker 1: want your socks on? I got you. Shoes on? I
- 15:00Speaker 1: got you. You know, helping with the simplest of things that,
- 15:05Speaker 1: you know, we take for granted every single day. But
- 15:10Speaker 1: he gets really sad. And I hate when he gets
- 15:17Speaker 1: sad about feeling bad for me because I feel so
- 15:22Speaker 1: lucky that I still have him. But he worries because,
- 15:26Speaker 1: you know, I grew up with a sick parent and
- 15:28Speaker 1: he's like, I don't want you to have to be
- 15:30Speaker 1: like a caregiver your whole life. But I'm like, I
- 15:34Speaker 1: signed up for you and you're my best friend. But
- 15:38Speaker 1: he has changed a lot. And he's not who he was.
- 15:44Speaker 1: His moods are very all over the place. His hope
- 15:48Speaker 1: is all over the place. And like, I know he
- 15:51Speaker 1: would never choose to leave me. If you know what
- 15:55Speaker 1: I mean. YouTube friendly way of saying that. But it
- 16:02Speaker 1: doesn't keep me from sometimes I come home and I
- 16:04Speaker 1: call out and he doesn't answer me. And then I
- 16:09Speaker 1: just start running around the house to find him. All
- 16:19Speaker 1: he can do is just go from place to place sitting...
- 16:26Speaker 1: And it's not like we can have visitors because he
- 16:29Speaker 1: gets so overwhelmed and so tired so easily. And we
- 16:34Speaker 1: can't really go in public because he can't walk very
- 16:37Speaker 1: much because he gets very sick. Gives pounding headaches, super dizzy,
- 16:41Speaker 1: super nauseous, super like everything. And like we're supposed to
- 16:46Speaker 1: go to this brain clinic in Utah. So... drive for
- 16:51Speaker 1: two hours he's he's afraid like and it makes sense
- 16:54Speaker 1: that he's gonna get so bad by the time he
- 16:56Speaker 1: gets there that that whatever they're gonna be able to
- 16:58Speaker 1: do for him isn't even gonna work because he's gonna
- 17:01Speaker 1: get so sick getting there and getting home because if
- 17:03Speaker 1: you even bump him you're up against him wrong he's
- 17:08Speaker 1: so sick it's kind of like he's a ghost sometimes
- 17:25Speaker 1: Because he's him. He is. But he's such a shell
- 17:29Speaker 1: of who he was. Because he can't do anything he loved.
- 17:37Speaker 1: But he takes a lot of joy in helping me.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Like the set. You know. Joel. That's why we have Joel.
- 17:44Speaker 1: If everyone knows. My brother. He's a part of this team.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And he does all the things Adam can't. Like mow
- 17:50Speaker 1: the lawn. And do the garbage. And help me take
- 17:53Speaker 1: care of the pets. And the animals. And. and you
- 17:55Speaker 1: know everything but like he's the one that could choose
- 17:58Speaker 1: these settings on the camera and he's the one that
- 18:00Speaker 1: bought the camera and bought the lights and he finds
- 18:03Speaker 1: such a happiness in doing these little things and that's
- 18:08Speaker 1: why i wanted to move because he's been very trapped
- 18:11Speaker 1: in this house and we were able to find this
- 18:15Speaker 1: beautiful place and it's it's 50 acres and he can
- 18:18Speaker 1: just like be free and i feel like it's a
- 18:23Speaker 1: really healing place And it's hard to say that he
- 18:30Speaker 1: can't do anything, but at the same time, he does
- 18:33Speaker 1: so much for us and so much for our family.
- 18:39Speaker 1: But he has, other than that, no happiness. And he's
- 18:44Speaker 1: never comfortable. And it's so specific to what he can
- 18:46Speaker 1: eat because there's so many triggers that make him so sick.
- 18:51Speaker 1: And he's always in pain. And then comes the fear. Fear.
- 18:58Speaker 1: because like I said if he gets bumped he's bad
- 19:03Speaker 1: and like I want to keep doing things and I
- 19:04Speaker 1: want to keep doing videos and I feel like I'm
- 19:07Speaker 1: letting so many people down in my life and I'm
- 19:09Speaker 1: like I don't think people understand that like when Joel
- 19:13Speaker 1: goes home you know it's just me and I have
- 19:18Speaker 1: a sick parent and I have to take care of
- 19:21Speaker 1: the house and do all this stuff and I know
- 19:24Speaker 1: I could bring more people in but like that's just
- 19:26Speaker 1: more stress for him And I just want him to
- 19:31Speaker 1: get better. It was a night and it was really bad.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Because sometimes he can't sleep and it goes to such
- 19:41Speaker 1: a dark place. And he just said, he's like, I
- 19:45Speaker 1: would give up the rest of my life for one
- 19:48Speaker 1: good year with you. one year where we could just
- 19:53Speaker 1: be normal like not even do stuff but just be
- 19:56Speaker 1: normal again that was the saddest thing I'd ever heard
- 20:12Speaker 1: Because Adam was everyone's favorite. The life of the party.
- 20:17Speaker 1: The best cook. The best golf partner. Best fish enthusiast.
- 20:26Speaker 1: He had so much fun living. Yeah. He completely took
- 20:39Speaker 1: advantage of being alive. He was the one that fixed everything.
- 20:54Speaker 1: And I just wish that I could fix him. But
- 21:03Speaker 1: the brain is hard. And there's so many uncertainties and
- 21:07Speaker 1: there's so many questions and We've seen and talked to
- 21:10Speaker 1: so many doctors, but 99% of the things we've already
- 21:13Speaker 1: done and the things that we haven't done, we can't
- 21:15Speaker 1: do because it makes it worse. Or we try it
- 21:18Speaker 1: for him and it does. It just makes it worse.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And then it's just fearful of trying anything because if
- 21:24Speaker 1: he goes back even farther than he is, it can't.
- 21:43Speaker 1: We had a conversation the other day. Anytime I'm in
- 21:46Speaker 1: the tub, he has to go to the washroom. And
- 21:49Speaker 1: he was just like, you can really have it all
- 21:52Speaker 1: and have absolutely nothing. I would give up everything for
- 22:10Speaker 1: him to be better. I'm so scared. It's something that
- 22:15Speaker 1: we don't even think of. Like, I know that it's
- 22:17Speaker 1: this concussion, but I'm like, is there this blood clot somewhere?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Is there like a tumor? Cause we go to all
- 22:22Speaker 1: these different doctors and everyone has a different opinion. And
- 22:27Speaker 1: then I hear these things that scare me. And his
- 22:29Speaker 1: sister passed away at his age. And if I didn't
- 22:34Speaker 1: have Adam, if the world didn't have Adam, He's my
- 22:49Speaker 1: best friend. And it's been hard to watch him fade away.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I wish I had a list of questions I could answer.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I feel like I missed a million things. We're going
- 23:24Speaker 1: away to Utah to try a program that is apparently
- 23:29Speaker 1: the best in all of America. And they say things
- 23:34Speaker 1: like 70% of patients leave 50% better than they were. 50%?
- 23:38Speaker 1: We take 10%. It's dark around here. It's very quiet.
- 23:57Speaker 1: It's pretty tense. But I have hope. And I know
- 24:03Speaker 1: a lot of the time he doesn't. But I do.
- 24:08Speaker 1: And I just want to make this video because it's
- 24:12Speaker 1: my number one asked question. And I appreciate how much
- 24:17Speaker 1: you guys love him And he appreciates it. And he
- 24:21Speaker 1: loves hearing about the top comments on videos. And I
- 24:25Speaker 1: hope it answers enough things. So hopefully some people don't
- 24:29Speaker 1: ask me in public because they ask and then immediately
- 24:32Speaker 1: I just want to start crying. I just want him
- 24:37Speaker 1: to get better because I love my brother and he
- 24:39Speaker 1: does all the things with me. He goes to all
- 24:41Speaker 1: my trips with me in LA and stuff like that.
- 24:43Speaker 1: But I know Adam wants to be there. He's my
- 24:49Speaker 1: biggest cheerleader. And I know he wants to meet these people,
- 24:53Speaker 1: but he can't even shake someone's hand. I just want
- 25:05Speaker 1: him back. It's been five years. And it's just never
- 25:21Speaker 1: been this bad. Thank you for watching this. Thank you
- 25:32Speaker 1: for supporting me. I know I do silly, funny stuff.
- 25:37Speaker 1: But that is what gets me through. I feel like
- 25:42Speaker 1: a lot of the saddest, darkest people out there are
- 25:45Speaker 1: always into comedy. Thank you to my friends for sticking
- 25:51Speaker 1: with me. Thanks to my manager for always having my back.
- 25:59Speaker 1: But I just need him to get better. Manifest.
