Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:02
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're diving right back in
• 0:06
Speaker 1: to the Ted Wait testimony that he gave to Congress.
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Miss Mace, I have a few more questions, Miss Casey.
• 0:15
Speaker 1: Go ahead, Miss Mace, if you don't mind. We're voting today, apparently,
• 0:18
Speaker 1: so I'm going to miss my flight, mister spector, go ahead,
• 0:22
Speaker 1: Miss Mace. He said earlier in your testimony that you
• 0:24
Speaker 1: had met with Epstein or seen him, you know, happenstance
• 0:27
Speaker 1: sort of running into him or whatever. Did you ever
• 0:30
Speaker 1: see women that looked young around him or near him
• 0:33
Speaker 1: at any of those encounters, mister wait, On two occasions
• 0:36
Speaker 1: he was with young women who Miss Mace, did she
• 0:39
Speaker 1: look under eighteen? Mister Wait, No, I would have guessed
• 0:43
Speaker 1: in her early twenties, Miss Mace. Okay, mister Wait, she
• 0:46
Speaker 1: looked like a model type. I don't believe you were
• 0:48
Speaker 1: in the room, I said, I think there was Eastern
• 0:51
Speaker 1: European and I was told that she was a girlfriend,
• 0:54
Speaker 1: Miss Mace. And did you ever hear any rumors about
• 0:57
Speaker 1: his behavior, like in your circles in places? Did you
• 1:01
Speaker 1: ever hear rumors? Wait, not that I can recall miss Mace,
• 1:05
Speaker 1: what was his behavior and what it may have been,
• 1:08
Speaker 1: mister wait, not that I can recall Miss Mace. Okay?
• 1:12
Speaker 1: And then have you you said that you financially supported
• 1:14
Speaker 1: Gallaine Maxwell? I think to the tune of around thirty
• 1:17
Speaker 1: g's a month. Was that normal for a girlfriend? Had
• 1:21
Speaker 1: you given that amount of money to your girlfriends on
• 1:23
Speaker 1: average to help them maintain their lifestyles? Mister Waite, I
• 1:27
Speaker 1: haven't had that many girlfriends where I provided. She was
• 1:29
Speaker 1: the first one I provided that level of financial support
• 1:32
Speaker 1: to Miss Mace. What would have been Have you ever
• 1:36
Speaker 1: provided that support to a girlfriend previously your post Glaine,
• 1:40
Speaker 1: mister Waite, No, I was married previous to that, Miss Mace. Okay,
• 1:43
Speaker 1: mister Waite, and this was later in our relationship, Miss Mace.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: So Glaine Maxwell is the only girlfriend that you've ever
• 1:51
Speaker 1: paid thirty g's to a month, Mister Waite. I did
• 1:54
Speaker 1: provide support to my current wife before we got married,
• 1:57
Speaker 1: and still do, Mace. And then this seven million in
• 2:00
Speaker 1: the month that you broke up in twenty ten, September
• 2:03
Speaker 1: twenty ten, excuse me. Eight million. It's a lot of money.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: Maybe it's ten or eleven, but for the amount of
• 2:09
Speaker 1: money that you gave her in September of twenty ten.
• 2:11
Speaker 1: Had you ever given a girlfriend that amount of money? Mister?
• 2:15
Speaker 1: Wait no, mister scull, Danny jumps in just to clarify,
• 2:18
Speaker 1: mister wait, was it the amount that's reflected on the
• 2:21
Speaker 1: document is seven point two million? Is that your recollection? Mister? Wait?
• 2:26
Speaker 1: Whatever the document says, it's call Danny. Okay, miss Mace,
• 2:29
Speaker 1: But you'd never given a girlfriend the amount of money. Wait, no, Mace.
• 2:34
Speaker 1: And it was the month that you broke up, so
• 2:36
Speaker 1: this was like a breakup gift. Wait, yeah, Mace, you know,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: kind of like a divorce. You were together a long time. Wait,
• 2:44
Speaker 1: it was like a pre a palimony settlement type thing.
• 2:48
Speaker 1: She was planning on spending the rest of my life
• 2:50
Speaker 1: with me and was giving you know, Mace cuts them off.
• 2:55
Speaker 1: Did you ever have like an agreement in like writing
• 2:57
Speaker 1: with her when you were together about financials, das or
• 3:00
Speaker 1: anything like that. Wait no, Mace. Okay, mister Spector, we've
• 3:05
Speaker 1: had an additional member join. Mister Conna, do you mind
• 3:08
Speaker 1: introducing yourself for the record? Row Conna, I represent California's
• 3:13
Speaker 1: seventeenth District. Miss Cathay, thank you, mister wait, thank you
• 3:17
Speaker 1: for bearing with us. We're jumping around a lot here
• 3:19
Speaker 1: and onto a lot of different topics. I'm going to
• 3:22
Speaker 1: step back a little bit into something that you mentioned
• 3:24
Speaker 1: very briefly in the very first hour. You talked about
• 3:27
Speaker 1: the two thousand and eight plea deal that was given
• 3:29
Speaker 1: to mister Epstein, his subsequent imprisonment, and everything that came
• 3:33
Speaker 1: out about Miss Maxwell following that. So my question is,
• 3:37
Speaker 1: did you learn that she had been labeled publicly as
• 3:39
Speaker 1: a co conspirator of mister Epstein while you were still
• 3:42
Speaker 1: dating her? Mister wait, No, Miss Cathay, you did not
• 3:46
Speaker 1: learn that until after you broke up with her. Mister wait, yeah,
• 3:49
Speaker 1: I think it was much later. Mister Skaldani, can you
• 3:52
Speaker 1: clarify when she was identified as a co conspirator? Miss Cathay,
• 3:57
Speaker 1: The reporting did not come out until I'm sorry I
• 3:59
Speaker 1: don't have this specific year, but it didn't come out
• 4:01
Speaker 1: until a few years after he was in prison. But
• 4:04
Speaker 1: that's why we're clarifying today. When you found out, mister wait, yeah,
• 4:08
Speaker 1: I wasn't. It wasn't until after we broke up. Sculldnni
• 4:11
Speaker 1: jumps in and just for the record, I don't think
• 4:14
Speaker 1: any co conspirators were identified in the two thousand and
• 4:17
Speaker 1: eight conviction and the process leading up to that, Miss Cathay,
• 4:20
Speaker 1: that's correct. She was not identified in the plea agreement,
• 4:23
Speaker 1: but it became public and she was labeled labeled publicly
• 4:26
Speaker 1: as a co conspirator as time went on, Mister sculldnni okay,
• 4:30
Speaker 1: Miss Cathay, And that's what we're referring to, Miss Mace.
• 4:33
Speaker 1: What year was that, Miss Cathay. I don't have a
• 4:36
Speaker 1: specific year when the reporting came out, but it was
• 4:38
Speaker 1: several years after he was in prison. Well, he was
• 4:41
Speaker 1: never in prison, So there's that, Miss Callin, and which
• 4:44
Speaker 1: I think he went to prison twice, Cathay the first
• 4:47
Speaker 1: time he went to prison, which was in two thousand
• 4:49
Speaker 1: and eight. No, he didn't go to prison. These people
• 4:52
Speaker 1: don't even know the story. How are they going to
• 4:53
Speaker 1: get us to justice, Miss Callen, I think, I mean,
• 4:57
Speaker 1: I don't have any recollection of any co conspirator being
• 5:00
Speaker 1: named in that timeframe, So I think in order for
• 5:03
Speaker 1: us to all appine on that, we would have to
• 5:04
Speaker 1: see a document, Mister Spector, the non prosecutionment agreement names
• 5:09
Speaker 1: for women, none of whom are Miss Maxwell per my recollection,
• 5:12
Speaker 1: but it did name four during his initial arrest, and
• 5:15
Speaker 1: it says these four and all other potential co conspirators.
• 5:19
Speaker 1: And subsequent to that, there are media reports that indicated
• 5:22
Speaker 1: that Miss Maxwell may have been involved. That's what we're
• 5:25
Speaker 1: referring to, Miss Callen. I don't think that there's there
• 5:29
Speaker 1: was not It wasn't widely reported at the time. I
• 5:32
Speaker 1: also think that most of the documents were under seal
• 5:34
Speaker 1: until recently, mister spector. Mister wait, I think you've already
• 5:38
Speaker 1: been clearer, but I want to be clear again. Do
• 5:41
Speaker 1: you have did you have any knowledge during your relationship
• 5:44
Speaker 1: with Miss Maxwell that she was considered to be involved
• 5:47
Speaker 1: in Jeffrey Epstein's crimes in any way mister Waite, No,
• 5:51
Speaker 1: Miss Cathay question, thank you for clarifying that during the
• 5:55
Speaker 1: course of your relationship, then you not knowing that she
• 5:58
Speaker 1: was being accused in any way? Did she defend herself
• 6:02
Speaker 1: to you and her involvement with Epstein in his capacity
• 6:04
Speaker 1: as her employer? Answer? Yeah, I recall late in our
• 6:08
Speaker 1: relationship her denying involvement with all his crimes. Question did
• 6:12
Speaker 1: she ever defend mister Epstein? Answer? I don't recall her
• 6:15
Speaker 1: defending him. Question do you generally remember whether she thought
• 6:18
Speaker 1: the allegations were true? Answer? I don't recall getting into
• 6:22
Speaker 1: that level of detail. Question. I mean, he was her
• 6:24
Speaker 1: ex boyfriend, he was convicted of a serious crime. You
• 6:28
Speaker 1: don't recall any conversation about how her general feelings towards
• 6:31
Speaker 1: his conviction. Answer like I said, she downplayed the event.
• 6:35
Speaker 1: She made it seem like he you know, you got
• 6:37
Speaker 1: a better deal, and you have the conversation. I just
• 6:39
Speaker 1: remember her denying any direct involvement with it when I asked,
• 6:43
Speaker 1: because I asked about it, Like I said, I wish
• 6:45
Speaker 1: I would have done more research at the time around
• 6:47
Speaker 1: the two thousand and eight timeframe. I wish I would have.
• 6:50
Speaker 1: I didn't think to question and including the timeframe that
• 6:54
Speaker 1: follows your breakup. Did you ever contact her again once
• 6:58
Speaker 1: the news started coming out more frequently and she was
• 7:01
Speaker 1: in the press and being labeled as a co conspirator involved,
• 7:04
Speaker 1: did you ever contact her again to discuss that? Answer?
• 7:08
Speaker 1: No question, Okay. I'd like now to turn to Miss
• 7:11
Speaker 1: Maxwell's civil suits, specifically, did you assist Miss Maxwell in
• 7:15
Speaker 1: any way with any of the civil cases that were
• 7:17
Speaker 1: brought against her? Answer? No question, And more generally, did
• 7:21
Speaker 1: you ever witness anything suspicious about Miss Maxwell into a
• 7:25
Speaker 1: relationship with young women or girls? Answer no, Miss Callen,
• 7:29
Speaker 1: He's answered that like six times now, Miss Cathay. I understand.
• 7:32
Speaker 1: It's very hard to hear in the back of the room.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: Miss Callen. It's in the record six times, Miss Cathay understood.
• 7:38
Speaker 1: Question I'd like to shift gears a little bit. How
• 7:41
Speaker 1: often would you travel with Miss Maxwell? Answer? Sometimes every
• 7:44
Speaker 1: other week, sometimes or most every other week because I
• 7:47
Speaker 1: had my four children, three of whom were teenager girls
• 7:50
Speaker 1: at the time, so every other week from Sunday to Sunday.
• 7:54
Speaker 1: So if I did travel with her, it would have
• 7:56
Speaker 1: been at most every other week. Question And you know
• 8:00
Speaker 1: where were you traveling to every other week? Answer of
• 8:03
Speaker 1: various places around the world. I had worked very hard
• 8:05
Speaker 1: for twenty years, you know. Now I was retired, so
• 8:08
Speaker 1: I was, you know, seeing the world, going to as
• 8:10
Speaker 1: many places as I could, learning a lot. Question did
• 8:14
Speaker 1: you ever take any business trips with Miss Maxwell? Answer
• 8:18
Speaker 1: not that I can recall specifically for business. Question And
• 8:21
Speaker 1: you mentioned your children, But who else would travel with
• 8:25
Speaker 1: you whenever you would take these trips? Answer? Yeah, it
• 8:28
Speaker 1: was typically just the two of us. Question, and I'd
• 8:31
Speaker 1: like to shift now to mister Epstein's property specifically. I
• 8:34
Speaker 1: recognize that you mentioned many of these in your opening statement,
• 8:38
Speaker 1: but for the purpose of the record, we are going
• 8:39
Speaker 1: to go through each one. Answer okay, question, have you
• 8:43
Speaker 1: ever been to mister Epstein's Island Little Saint James? Answer no. Question.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: Did you ever visit mister Epstein's pomp Beach home? Answer
• 8:51
Speaker 1: one time. I was in pomp Beach with Miss Maxwell.
• 8:54
Speaker 1: She said that she had to retrieve something from the property.
• 8:57
Speaker 1: We stopped there. I didn't get out of the car.
• 8:59
Speaker 1: She invited me in. I said no, So I never
• 9:02
Speaker 1: went inside, but I was in front of the house.
• 9:05
Speaker 1: Was mister Epstein there? Answer not to my knowledge. Question
• 9:09
Speaker 1: by mister Spector, why didn't you go in? Mister Waite?
• 9:12
Speaker 1: I was told, I mean it was it was just weird.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: It was the ex boyfriend's, you know, ex boyfriend's house.
• 9:17
  Speaker 1: I just didn't. I didn't want to go in there,
• 9:20
Speaker 1: Miss Cathay. Question, did miss Maxwell tell you to stay
• 9:23
Speaker 1: in the car? Answer? No, she invited me in. Question
• 9:26
Speaker 1: did you ever visit mister Epstein in his New York
• 9:28
Speaker 1: Town home? Answer no question. Did you ever visit the

• 9:42
Speaker 1: Did you ever visit the office on three oh one
• 9:44
Speaker 1: East sixty sixth Street that mister Epstein owned? Answer no question.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: Did you ever visit New Auberney, Ohio? Answer no question.
• 9:53
Speaker 1: Did you ever visit anywhere else that was owned or
• 9:55
Speaker 1: managed by mister Epstein or his staff? Answer not that
• 9:58
Speaker 1: I know of. Did you ever fly on any of
• 10:01
Speaker 1: mister Epstein's private aircraft? Answer no question. Mister Epstein ever
• 10:06
Speaker 1: invites you to fly on his private aircraft? Answer no question.
• 10:10
Speaker 1: Did Miss Maxwell ever invite you to fly on mister
• 10:12
Speaker 1: Epstein's private aircraft? Answer no question. Did you ever fly
• 10:17
Speaker 1: on any of Miss Maxwell's aircraft? Answer I didn't know
• 10:20
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell had aircraft. She was a licensed helicopter pilot,
• 10:23
Speaker 1: I said, specter. Did you ever fly on any aircraft
• 10:26
Speaker 1: piloted by Miss Maxwell? Mister Waite, I had a helicopter
• 10:30
Speaker 1: that she piloted, but only with another pilot on board
• 10:33
Speaker 1: at the same time, so I had my own helicopter. Question.
• 10:36
Speaker 1: Did mister Epstein ever fly on your private plane? Answer
• 10:39
Speaker 1: no question. Did you ever fly with mister Epstein on
• 10:43
Speaker 1: any aircraft? Answer no question. Were you ever approached or
• 10:47
Speaker 1: question by law enforcement of any kind in regards to
• 10:50
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell or her crimes? Answer no question. Were you
• 10:54
Speaker 1: ever approached or questioned by law enforcement of any kind
• 10:58
Speaker 1: in regards to mister Epstein and crimes? Answer no, Miss Mace.
• 11:02
Speaker 1: Do you think it's odd? This is an opinion. You
• 11:05
Speaker 1: can tell me the answer or not. But do you
• 11:07
Speaker 1: think that it's odd that no law enforcement apparatus made
• 11:09
Speaker 1: any inquiries with you at all about you know, Epstein
• 11:12
Speaker 1: or Maxwell's potential involvement with Epstein because you all had
• 11:16
Speaker 1: a relationship for so long? Did you find that odd?
• 11:19
Speaker 1: Mister Waite, that's a good question. Odd might not be
• 11:22
Speaker 1: the right term. I was kind of expecting in a way,
• 11:27
Speaker 1: Miss Wait, Miss Mace weird, ted Waite, I wouldn't say
• 11:30
Speaker 1: it's weird. No, I had no direct involvement, Mace. Yeah,
• 11:35
Speaker 1: but just being an associate of hers, did you find
• 11:37
Speaker 1: it off putting at all? You know what I mean?
• 11:39
Speaker 1: Like I would have assumed that law enforcement would have
• 11:41
Speaker 1: investigated anyone that she had any kind of a relationship,
• 11:45
Speaker 1: business or personal or otherwise for an extended period of time,
• 11:48
Speaker 1: You know what I mean. Mister Wait. Yeah, I'm not
• 11:51
Speaker 1: familiar with law enforcement, so I don't know Miss Mace.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: I think it's weird, like there's no investigation at all
• 11:57
Speaker 1: her behavior. Mister Waite, it would have been I would
• 12:01
Speaker 1: have been happy to cooperate Miss Mace. Yeah, all right, folks,
• 12:05
Speaker 1: we're gonna wrap up right here, and in the next
• 12:07
Speaker 1: episode dealing with the topic, we're gonna pick up where
• 12:09
Speaker 1: we left off. All the information that goes with this
• 12:11
Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box.
