- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, Browns fans?
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to another episode of The Dogs Podcast.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Josh, you're all your host today.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's preview the upcoming matchup on Sunday between the Browns and the Chets.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's what today is all about.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you guys my breakdown on the game.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: My thoughts and opinions take away all that sort of stuff.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then we've got a segment from Kenny Mac that he sent in, talking about this game and an opportunity for the Nashville game against the Titans coming up that you guys don't want to miss.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Plus, we've got more voicemails to hit on at the end of the show.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you for tuning in to another episode, brown still 3 and 1, obviously.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: No new games have been played, we're still sitting on top of that AFC North and one thing I do want to point out before we dive into the specifics of the upcoming game.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you kind of look at an NFL season, which I like to do this, I like to look at a season in chunks and quarters of the season.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I know, okay, you can't even hit out in quarters anymore because it's not 16 games
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: the first quarter of the season is over.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it flew by.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I cannot believe you know we spent all off season all year from you know January on through the you know the coaching search and the free agency and draft and many camps and all this stuff and all of a sudden boom we're four games into the season it's crazy.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: But the Browns clearly won the first quarter of the season.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: No doubt about it.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Three and one record after four games, that is fantastic.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest thing now is looking at this next chunk, okay?
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: And it all begins on Sunday.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: The reason I'm doing this now is because it begins Sunday in New York or I guess New Jersey with the jets.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: You have to go on one to kick off the second quarter of your season.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: The first quarter's done.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: You won that one.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: Good.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Put it aside.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: We are past it.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: because we got another chunk coming up here, which if they can win this next quarter of the season, they will position themselves very well for whatever may come over the second half of the season, because
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta remember, there are going to be injuries, there are going to be unforeseen situations that come up all the time.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: And if you can go into those situations later in the season with a winning record already to your name, it really helps set you up and gives you some foundation, some breathing room to still fight and push and claw your way for a playoff spot.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what we're looking to do.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: So three and one, excellent foundation from the first quarter of the season.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Now we've got the jets, Ravens, Titans,
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Steelers coming up, yes.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: So we get to end the first quarter of the season with the Steelers and the second quarter of the season with Pittsburgh.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: So in my opinion, just, you know, off the off the cusp here, three and one would be fantastic here in the second quarter, because then if you can go into the second half of the season, sitting with a six and two record,
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: all things are possible.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying it to guarantee.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying things couldn't go horribly sideways for the Browns, but you'd be sitting very pretty if you were six and two.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: I would say two and two at the absolute worst is what you can do here in the second quarter.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Two and two and the reason I'm talking about this is because you haven't got to get the first win.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: You got to kick off the second quarter the season with a win here in week five.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: against the jet.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to go through that preview.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you guys go to join the dogs.com.

- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: I want to talk about this, or I want to vent about that, or I'm hyped about what just happened.

- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: So thank you to everybody who's helping support the show following.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: This is our seventh season doing Browns coverage and it wouldn't be able to do it without you guys.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday, fascinating match up here, Browns, three and one, sitting at top of the AFC North, riding a three-wheel game winning streak after being Pittsburgh 27-24.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: On Thursday night football, meanwhile, you got the jets on the other side, one and three, coming off a 23-12-Lost of Chicago.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: So now listen, Browns on a three-game win streak, jets on a three-game losing streak.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: Todd Munkin, I love what he said yesterday in his press conference.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm paraphrasing here.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: But essentially, Todd said, listen, worth 3 in 1 with 3 close game wins in the jets, they're 1 in 3 and they've played tough.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: They could just as easily be 3 in 1, we could just as easily be 1 in 3.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that showed how dialed in Todd Muckin is to the reality of the Brown situation right now, and it makes me feel so much better about this week, you know, and the idea of it potentially being a trap game, because making no mistake, the Brown should absolutely win this game.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, but it's on the road against the team who's desperate for a victory and we have Baltimore coming to Cleveland next Sunday in a game that could decide the leader for the ABC North.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: So if the Browns are looking past the jets in any way, it could spell major trouble in this one, but I get the feeling
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: That Todd Munkin has these guys focused on this week, want to know in week five, everything else happens after this.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: We are here right now against the jet.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: So that made me feel really good here in those comments to the media from Todd Munkin.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: So three one browns heading to New York to face the 103 jets despite the records for these two teams.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Vegas has New York is one and a half point favorites right now.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: The over under is a low 39.5 points and Cleveland is plus 105 to win the game.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: So clearly, Vegas sees what we see.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And what we've been talking about here on the show, and they know the Browns have not yet commanded a game from kickoff all the way through triple zeros.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that needs to happen this week.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Can the Browns finally start playing like a good football team for four quarters instead of relying on late game heroics?
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because listen, Cleveland has found ways to win these games, but it's offense.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: Remains inconsistent.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: The running game still struggling.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: The turnover issues haven't disappeared.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And penalties continue to absolutely kill
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: The Jets present an opportunity for Cleveland to establish some consistency, but this also has the making, like I said, of a trap game, an emotional, divisional win, extra rest, this many by week, and now a road trip against the team, desperate to save its season.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: We might be looking at them saying, it's just the Jets.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just the Jets, and we're going to talk about it coming up here.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: for the Browns.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest storyline has to be to Sean Watson, right?
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anybody would argue that.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Watson, he's now led Cleveland on three consecutive victories, three straight game winning drives.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty significant.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: He became only the second Browns quarterback since the 1970 merger to accomplish that.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Sypie in 1979 was the last one, but there are two different conversations to be had about to Sean Watson.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: You got the positives, he's making plays, winning plays, late in games.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: The fourth core performance is against Tampa, Carolina Pittsburgh.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: The show's at Cleveland has a quarterback capable responding under pressure.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's great, the concern.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Why does the offense so often need these late game heroics?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Against the Panthers, Watson threw for just 67 yards through three quarters before coming alive in the fourth.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Steelers game, a little bit different.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: It featured costly mistakes, including the interception, the Fumble.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about this at Nozium, like to be put the ball on the ground three times in this game.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Todd Munkin and people have been like, why are you harping on the turnover stuff or whatever?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's recovering his fumbles and all this, Todd Munkin said it in the press conference yesterday, without being asked about it.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: He willingly called out the Sean Watson in the press conference said he's making great plays with his legs, he's a phenomenal athlete, he's doing great things, he said he needs to hold onto the ball, ball security is a major issue with him.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: He said it, so it's clearly a problem that not only
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: But the team is seeing, and it's good to hear Todd Munken point to it because it means he's talking with the Sean Watson behind scenes saying, you got to hold on to the ball, quit hoarding it out here for everybody to come and get tuck it in if you're going to run the thing.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: So four week five, can to Sean Watson put together a complete efficient performance without the Browns needing another fourth quarter rescue mission.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Cleveland needs to see before we start taking or talking seriously about this team becoming a legitimate playoff contender.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: So on the other side, the jets, what happened to them most recently here in week 4?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty rough day for the jets.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: 157 offensive yards, just 7 first downs, only 17 minutes and 15 seconds, time of possession.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's what happened in their 23-12 lost in Chicago, the Bears.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: They ran 89 offensive plays compared to New York running just 32.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: Chicago had 492 yards and held the football for nearly 43 minutes of the football game.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the craziest part.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: Chicago did that with Tyson Bayesian at quarterback, not Caleb Williams, remember he's hurt.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: They're playing with a backup quarterback.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Kyle Mnungai, they're back up running back, rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: And the jets allowed a total of 232 rushing yards overall.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: We need to be able to run the ball against this defense.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: That is a massive warning sign from New York heading into this matchup with us.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest weakness for the jets.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this with Carolina and it didn't go the way we were really hoping.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are 25th, rank 25th against the run.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Their run defense is bad, okay?
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: There's an obvious opportunity here with Quenchon Judkins and this running attack to finally get going against the defense that will let you get going, okay?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns offensive line has inconsistently created rushing lanes, but the jets have been vulnerable to physical rushing attacks.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we just punch them, fire out and hit them.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go, we need to open some lanes, create some push, get to the second level.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's time.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: We are through the first quarter of the season.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about it.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: It might take a month or so for these guys to gel.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, freaking gel already.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's week five.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: This is the best opportunity to make this happen.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's exactly the kind of opponent against who Cleveland needs to establish this ground game.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think they can do it?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you guys think in the comments now for the jets offense.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: They got Geno Smith back here in New York.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's where he started his career.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: And now he's back now through four games.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Geno Smith has thrown for a little over 900 yards so far.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Five touchdowns zero.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Interceptions.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: I believe Kenny talks about this here in his preview, but I think the jets have only committed one turn over all season.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_00]: So they obviously are protecting the ball heck of a lot better than the Browns are right now through four games.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: The raw passing efficiency for the for genosmith that's respectable, but their offense has been wildly inconsistent over the first four games.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Chicago, he was just eight from eight for 15, okay?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: For 119 yards and one touchdown took three sex.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: The jets only had five net passing yards in the first half.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: Think about that.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: Only five net passing yards in the first half.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: great opportunity here for our defense to stifle them two weeks in a row.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's a matchup I really like for the Brown's defensive line that's just generating pressure like crazy.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Genosmith can still deliver accurate throws when the pocket is clean.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_00]: the jets of struggle to protect him with any consistency and our defensive front is coming off a huge performance against Pittsburgh, where they had 23 pressures, 5 sacks, 10 quarterback hits, 7 TFLs and 2 takeaways.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's the defensive identity that Browns have got to carry into New York on the road.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot be doing this thing like we did under Jim Schwartz, where we're, you know, big and tough and elite at home.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then we kind of suck on the road.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: That can't happen.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: this week in New York.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to travel guys.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: We've got to travel.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: It traveled in week two, down in Tampa.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but it didn't travel in week one.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: So again, our road sample size very small.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: We're not really sure who we are on the road yet.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a part of the identity building for the Browns of the season.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's figured out what we can actually do when we're the away team.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Isaiah McGuire, Derek Barnett, these guys are becoming legitimate weapons through four
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: These two guys right here rank among the NFL's top seven in past-rush pressure rate.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Isaiah McGuire is at 13.5% in Dirk Barnett is at 13.1.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: They rank sixth and seventh in the NFL in past-rush pressure rate.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's insane.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are doing a great job.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: Think about that.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: You got no miles, Garrett.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: No Alex, right.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like the guys that you thought over the summer or the spring that you were coming into this season with primarily as your two defense events, they're not here.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're gone, they're not playing this year.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: And the guys who have to fill in for them have really filled in for them.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's been great, it's been a great development.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_00]: Especially, you know, we've got some high expectations around Jaredverse, and they haven't really come to fruition as much as we would like, but it's not because nobody's stepping up.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: I guess is the way I want to look at this.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the one dominating, but it doesn't mean nobody's dominating.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: These guys are still doing a great job creating pressure on that defensive front.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: And we talked about that.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about this with Mac on Friday.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: We don't need one player to replace myelgare, myelgare's production.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: We need multiple delinemen consistently winning their matchups.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: And right now I'm a choir Barnett.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_00]: Sam Williams, got to throw him in here too.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're given the Browns reason for optimism.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: So my question then is Cleveland's defensive line actually better as a collective unit than we expected without Miles Garrett?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the answer is probably yes, but you guys chime in here.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now the biggest jets weapon on offense obviously, I mean, there's really only one guy you got to shut down this week in my opinion, and it's Garrett Wilson.

- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: through four games Wilson has 24 catches for 270 yards and two touchdowns.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Now he is the most proven receiving weapon that we have to account for on this offensive attack.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's an outstanding route runner.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_00]: He can win underneath across the middle, down deep.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's that kind of receiver.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_00]: He is an awful but Cleveland has an interesting matchup answer here because this Denzel Ward.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_00]: who's coming off a tremendous performance against the Panthers two weeks ago.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's shadowed Tettaro McMillan on 25 coverage matchups and allowed just two targets, one reception, 12 yards.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: He shut down Tettaro then turned around in week four against the lions and went for, what did he have?
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: 17 catches, 192 or something, damn near 200 yards.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: Denzel Ward is illegal.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: That is locked down in cornerback plate, my friends.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to see Cleveland Challenge Garrett Wilson, Wood Denzel Ward, allowing the defense to focus additional attention on the other weapons because I think we can handle this offense on our, I really do.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see it as being a super big challenge as long as we don't let Garrett Wilson beat us.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest dangers led to him create explosives on broken plays when Gino extends the pocket, okay?
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: And why is he the biggest and really the only weapon on offense I'm concerned about?
- 17:57[SPEAKER_00]: Bruce Hall's injured, okay?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: They're running back.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: He is one of their most dangerous offensive players when he's healthy.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: We saw it last year when we went to New York.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_00]: He took a screen pass, what was like 65 yards or something for a touchdown and it put in the nail in the coffin for the Browns and that one.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's dealing with an injury, a quad injury, and he's so far, he missed last week.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's been a DNP so far this week.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's questionable for Sunday.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_00]: I doubt he plays.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_00]: He missed Chicago game, like I said, and even if he does play, he's going to be limited.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: If he doesn't play.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: I really think they become a lot easier to defend because his backup, Braille and Allen, now he's capable.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good running back between the tackles, but Brie's haul just brings a different level of explosiveness and his receiving ability out of the backfield is one of the best in the league.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: So without him,
- 18:43[SPEAKER_00]: We should really go make New York prove that it can sustain any sort of rushing attack before we commit additional defenders to the box.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Take away Garrett Wilson.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: Make Gino Smith beat you with the other weapons.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_00]: Who are the other weapons?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: You got Kenyan Sadik, rookie Titan, had a big game, what two weeks ago, 100 yards or something like that.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, I think he had a zeroes.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't do anything.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's got 143 receiving yards and one touchdown through four games
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he was, like I said, shut out last week against Chicago who Chicago's defense has, so far this season looked like somebody you can throw on.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: So the fact that the jets couldn't throw on them makes me very optimistic that we're going to be able to shut them down as well.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, CD going against Swesinger and our safety's,
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not worried about anybody else.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_00]: The only other guy really worth mentioning, Ad9 Mitchell, the other widersaver there, he gives them another downfield threat, but he's also dealing with an injury, could affect his availability.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, I'm looking at the practice report here.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_00]: Finger injury did not practice on Wednesday as well.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_00]: So who knows?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: This could be a very limited jet's offense, and a...
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just, I'm going through this and I'm thinking, man, if there's a game where the Browns are going to come out win by multiple scores and finally take a commanding boom or win in this game, no doubt it's got to be this one.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be this one.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's all lining up for us there, okay?
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: Now the jet's defense is probably where we should be a little more concerned.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're more talented than what they're one and three records suggest.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_00]: they've invested in defense and talent, particularly in their veteran leadership.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I hate this and that for, but they got Mink of Fitzpatrick.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_00]: The former Steelers Safety, now in New York with the Jets, the guy who ended Nick Chubbs career, so maybe we can knock him out of this one, that'd be great.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: Gosh, I hate Mink of Fitzpatrick.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: against the bears he recorded 16 tackles in a pick provided one of the few bright spots in another wise pretty dreadful defensive performance, but Browns fans know exactly how dangerous this guy can be unfortunately he can design his disguise excuse me coverage you can attack down hill punish quarterbacks when they're forcing throws into crowded areas this is a player to Sean Watson needs to identify before the snap, as much as I hate him.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good player.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: So we just got a account for him at all times to Mario Davis.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, this guy's like a hundred years old, but my goodness is he ever a good veteran linebacker.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's got the experience, the physicality, of course, the leadership.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's been around forever in the middle of their defense.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: He is an important part of their effort to rebuild that side of the ball under Aaron Glenn, who
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see if he, he makes it through the season or into a third season with the jets.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_00]: We'll make Donald the fourth and the jets edge rush.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: So McDonald has the athleticism to challenge our offensive tackles.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: New York and they added Joseph a sigh, rookie David Bailey to their pass rushing rotation.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the problem.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: The jets pass rush.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_00]: They have not consistently delivered so far this year.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: They've struggled to generate pressure against Chicago, even against a backup quarterback there.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, again, a lot of this stuff really points to the Browns should be able to have some good success in this one.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like the theme here for some of these episodes of these previews, it's starting to repeat themselves with the most important part of the Browns offensive matchup this week.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: when Sean Judkin's verse the jets run defense said this before Carolina, I'll say it again.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns cannot keep expecting to Sean Watson to carry an offense that can't run the football to Sean Watson cannot be your leading fricking rusher.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: it's it's not good for the offense about put in a single game and it's not good for the Sean Watson's outlook for the whole season remember this is a guy who has not finished a hell of fully healthy season all the way through since 2020 okay now obviously there wasn't an injury in 2021 2022 I get all that kind of stuff but he is also coming off a back to back where he missed or yeah he was out in 2023 with the broken shoulder and
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then he tore his Achilles toys.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to see Deshawn Watson running the ball and being our leading rusher.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason that he is running the ball so much and having to make all these plays and I'm not knocking Deshawn Watson.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: His ability with his legs is great.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: What he's been able to do is awesome.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't want him to have to do that because he's putting himself at risk.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_00]: He could easily get injured.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason that he has to do this because we can't run the ball with our freaking running backs.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: These guys just gave up to 32 to Chicago.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_00]: This should be an opportunity for Judkins.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: Get him 18 to 22 carry something like that.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but I just wouldn't line up and run into the stack boxes.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: Get Todd Munkin.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: We need more motion, misdirection, formations that force New York's linebackers to keep moving laterally.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: The goal isn't simply to just try to get him 100 yards or something like that is to give our offense.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: Consistently creating second and five instead of second and tens.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's the most frustrating thing about the running game is getting behind the sticks early in the possession.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_00]: We can't be doing that.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: We gotta get some push-up front.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And really the biggest concern coming into the game is the injuries.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: We've had some significant injury situations come up here now from Thursday night football, Mason Graham.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the biggest one he's expected to miss multiple weeks here with that knee injury, he had, what, an MCL sprain, ankle sprain.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's a meaningful loss for our interior defensive line.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody stepped up in that game against the Steelers and that was great.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: That was great.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't also expect everybody to always reap,
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: Fill in for the production that Mason Graham was giving you at all times and hopefully he gets back I saw Ashley Bassdock said in the locker room.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday on Wednesday, no crutches, no knee brace When she saw him walking through the locker room.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that's great news, Mason Graham just you know get healthy Hopefully this won't be a week that we need you
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: But we got Baltimore next week and if we could have you back for that one and I here I am looking ahead at Baltimore after the Jets, but again I've just gone through and told you guys why this is a winnable game for the Browns and why we If we're ever going to take control of a game and just win it outright from the jump to finish It's got to be this one
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, my call junior.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just kind of go through that real quick.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: We know he left the Steelers game with an ankle injury, but he did come back finish out that game got the big sack against Aaron Rogers, but he didn't practice on Wednesday.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: We have to watch his availability throughout the rest of the week.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Derek Barnett also did not practice with an ankle injury.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: You've got.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: Who else is really worth mentioning here?
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Elkton Jenkins, we can talk about that, um, came off the concussion protocol.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_00]: He is back, full participant practice.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: So he should be back, starting center, uh, after missing just one week.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that's great.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: We'll have our full offensive line back, uh, Tevin Jenkins, still not practicing.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why then there's put him on IR and fill in his roster spot with somebody else.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: He is absolutely worthless, um, and, uh, Thailand wall is, uh,
- 25:48[SPEAKER_00]: is out with a knee injury, don't expect him to play the Browns did just sign James Prochet, who they had a few years ago back to the practice squad and that's primarily, I wouldn't be surprised to see James Prochet called up on Sunday to be your return guy in the punt game.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why they don't, people keep asking me, what's going on with Jimmy Horn's junior?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Why did they sign him if they're not going to call him up to be like your punt returner and your six wide receiver, you know, why would they go with Prochet?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it has anything to do with Pro Shays.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_00]: Got more experience.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's the more tenured veteran, and that sort of department, Jimmy Horn, you know, he had, what was it?
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: Was it two fumbles?
- 26:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think a muff kick, something like that before the Panthers caught him in week one.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe the Browns just aren't fully comfortable with Jimmy Horn yet.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly don't have a good answer for you guys on that one, but it does look like it will be James Pro Shay.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: Fill an end for the injured, tie on Wallace, because again, you do not want Casey concepts you're on returning every single pun for you.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: He will return some, absolutely, but you don't want him doing it all the time, just an easy way to get a guy hurt that you can't afford to get hurt.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's always the problem with having one of your top-wide receivers also be your pun return.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the biggest matchups here were just kind of breeze through what I already said, Ward, verse Wilson.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Can you take away their top receiving option?
- 27:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you can do that, which I do believe Denzel Warp, can you got a buck-eye on buck-eye?
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: Which buck-eye is gonna win, baby, it'd better be ours.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Take him out of this game, don't let him beat you, Quinn-Shon vs the run defense.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you can't run against the Jets, Mazel just pack it in and I don't know what we're gonna do with the rest of season.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be ugly, but this is the week you gotta get it going.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_00]: Ma, Isaiah McGuire, Derek Barnett, if he's healthy, otherwise you're looking at like Sam Williams, but can we continue to creating the pressure from this defensive line?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_00]: Really not just those guys, but everybody across that defensive front.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_00]: Make genus Smith on Comfort, can we force him into his first turnover of the season?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: To Sean Watson versus the secondary lead by Micah Fitzpatrick, just
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: don't let him just don't let him fool you and make you look stupid, please.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then like Harold Fanon, guy like that against the Just Linebackers can we get mismatches in the short and intermediate passing game to continually move the sticks get the ball down the field and can we just keep scoring touchdown instead of having to kick field goals on every scoring drive.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: That would be that would help us get out in front early and stay out in front to, you know, I'd like to cruise to a win for the first time this year.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: I really would that would be awesome.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, establish the run game, make Gino uncomfortable, take away Wilson, and stop committing penalties.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: You guys know this?
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: We are averaging an NFL high.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm this isn't going to surprise anybody.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: NFL high, 10.8 penalties per game.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's just what's accepted.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's not counting all the penalties that get declined because it's better for the other team, not to accept the penalty.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: 10.8, accepted penalties per game, Kali.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: That is unacceptable for a team who's trying to establish yourself as a freaking competitor.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: You know, in Todd Munk, and he harped on this all-off season, the penalties, you know, all this stuff, the procedural stuff.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: I hate it.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_00]: It creates crappy football.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: I hate crappy football.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's crappy football, Todd.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: We got to get that fixed.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: And the biggest thing, please start fast.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Quit relying on fourth quarter comebacks and not being able to kick the, you know, the game into high gear until the second half, jump out early.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: Please, we kind of did this.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_00]: We started off a little slow.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: First quarter was really good against the steel or second quarter was like, boom, we're going to take these guys down here.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: And then after half time it was not good.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: So we cannot be riding the wave of like, oh, we're looking good.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_00]: We look like crap.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: We look okay.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: We're horrible.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: Start fast, play consistent, finish strong.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see a full game from this team.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: That would be wonderful.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: So one thing, I guess we could talk about real quick before I move this over to Kenny's quick preview.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: Why are the jets favored in this game?
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, despite Cleveland being three and one, New York being one and three, the jets, they're opening, or they open to the slight favorites.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were two and a half to start the week and now it's just, it's moved down to one and a half.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: But it's worth discussing here.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns, again, we've been outscored through four games despite Winnie three of them.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of that goes back to the 24 point out scoring in week one.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've scored.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the numbers in front of me.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's something like 76 or 79 points in four weeks, and our opponents collectively have scored 95.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: So we've been outscored quite a bit, but a lot of that differential has come from week one.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: Now it doesn't mean it's still closed.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you take that away, we're barely winning these games.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: We have a defense here, capable of creating game-changing plays, quarterback, who has delivered late when we need them to.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, which one matters more here?
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: The underlying statistics or the fact that, you know, we just keep finding ways to win.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: But I think this game kind of comes down to, again, being able to control everything that we can control stopping their offense and then being able to just take it to them with our run game, the reason why I'm a little bit hesitant on giving the Browns like, oh, we're gonna win 31 to 12 or something like that.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I'm so skeptical about the run game, so skeptical.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: And it's tough for me to project or project it, being anything phenomenal until I actually see it happens.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I do think the Browns win, I think Todd Monk and gets his team focused and dialed in here and we come and we take it to them.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think we get our first double digit or not double digit, but double score lead,
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: victory in this one and I think it could be probably something around like 24 to 10 would be maybe maybe maybe they scored one touch maybe 24 13 something like that they scored touch down kick a field will maybe they get lucky you know break a big play score another touch down something or another field will something like that but that would be my prediction for this one let me know what you guys think in the comments about this game um you know
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: We need to win.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: We got to kick off this second quarter of the season strong because you got a tough matchup coming up next week.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_00]: You got a tough matchup at the end of the month, or I guess it'd be November 1st beginning of that month with the Steelers.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you need the win here.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: You absolutely have got to get the win here.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_00]: So let me know what you guys think.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: We'll kick it over to Kenny Mac.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is sponsored by IM8.

- 33:52[SPEAKER_05]: from from the timely one to next week.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_05]: We've had 10 days to save her this victory and I don't know what you guys did this weekend.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_05]: But I had a blast.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_05]: I went down to Tampa Bay.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_05]: My brother-in-law's birthday was this weekend.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_05]: He turned 50.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_05]: Packers fan saw them against the box.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_05]: He got his win.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how people can play in that weather.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_05]: I'll be very honest with you.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_05]: It was 102 degrees, 75% humidity, aches.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_05]: I was so hot I couldn't even watch the second half.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_05]: But the reason I'm telling you this is because when I go to a game, I don't know if you do this, I go in full Browns gear.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_05]: And I went in full Browns gear.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_05]: And this is what happened.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_05]: Everybody wanted to talk about the Browns.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_05]: It was super helpful that the Browns played Thursday night.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_05]: They played well.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_05]: People had tons of questions.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_05]: Are you going to keep winning?
- 34:43[SPEAKER_05]: What's your record going to be?
- 34:45[SPEAKER_05]: They want to talk that because their teams collectively only had one win.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_05]: But...
- 34:50[SPEAKER_05]: With that being said, it comes to one thing sustainability and what I want to talk about first of all with that stability is what has got better.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_05]: What is trending up with the browns and the number one thing is past protection.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_05]: It's the strongest repeatable offensive improvement that we have.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_05]: We gave up five sacks in the first game.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_05]: Then, to each subsequent game, we only got two sacks for a loss of eight yards, which is very manageable.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_05]: Next up is red zone efficiency.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_05]: Our quarterback has been playing really well, but we went from zero against the Jacksonville Jaguars to 33%, 67% and now 100%.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_05]: And yes, 100% isn't sustainable, but the biggest thing is is we're turning touchdowns.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_05]: scoring opportunities into touchdowns when it matters.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_05]: The defensive pressure is a super big one and it's building.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_05]: As you can see, if you take a look at the stats from week to week, we went from one to three.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_05]: We got three again and now we got five against the Steelers.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_05]: Rogers is hurt and I'm sure he had 10 hits against him sack five times.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_05]: That was a lot of the right of the reason we won.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_05]: the game.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_05]: And thank God we got the the the pressures we did because we were one yard from losing that 300 yard streak of pastors under 300 yards.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_05]: So that was good.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_05]: Offence is finally raised its production.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_05]: We got 302 yards, 22 first downs.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_05]: it's super encouraging, the consistency is coming because we've got a whole new offensive line.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_05]: We've got two new receivers, rookie receivers, plus we also have two rookies on that offensive line.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_05]: We are getting rapport with between Watson and Fanon, which is something of super concerned about.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_05]: So it is coming along.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_05]: Now,
- 36:52[SPEAKER_05]: the biggest thing is, put it in the comments, what looks sustainable and enough to keep the winning going?
- 36:59[SPEAKER_05]: pressure combined with third-down stops.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_05]: We've got enough pressure and third-down stops, especially the way the Tampa Bay and the Carolina game ended.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_05]: It was enough to get the ball back to get a game winning field goal at the end and we have let teams convert only 15 first-downs on 44 attempts for 34.1 yards.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_05]: Also, the efficiency of Watson when that guy gets the ball at the end of the game, he puts enough points on the board to help either to defense snuff out the opponent.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_05]: or put a game winning field goal on to beat the team that needs to be beaten, the Steelers.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_05]: Getting useful production from several offensive weapons.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_05]: I mentioned the rapport.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_05]: It was coming with Fanon.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_05]: We drafted the two receivers, but Jerry Judy played big.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_05]: I want to see more out of bond.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_05]: But Quinn, Sean, Judkins, Judkins, for y'all,
- 38:03[SPEAKER_05]: you know a major option in the past game and he did an adequate enough run game as well or running in the run game and you know we have other options available as well that will come along but we are learning this offense new coach new offensive system new offensive assistance
- 38:23[SPEAKER_05]: They all got to come together.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_05]: They're finally starting to form a little bit in this fourth game because they don't get much playing time other than the training camps There's no preseason ball really anymore to get those going now if you guys want to put
- 38:38[SPEAKER_05]: Whatever you put down, that's winning and sustainable, what is sustaining that may make us lose games.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_05]: Number one is the penalties.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to talk about them anymore other than they got to stop get your head in the game.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_05]: Next thing, talking about an adequate running game.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_05]: But if we had a reliable running game where we could salt away a win or a potential win,
- 39:05[SPEAKER_05]: that is something where we wouldn't be getting these drives at the end to win and that's something that we need to figure out and the win and the stats now for running back it's kind of weird or for the running game the people want to pull out the quarterback they want to pull out the big run guys it's all part of the game I thought it wasn't good enough but it was not
- 39:27[SPEAKER_05]: It's alright, it was not good enough to actually salt the win away, the Steelers got back into this game because they knew we couldn't run the ball on them when it mattered.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_05]: Next up, three consecutive late go ahead drive, that is not sustainable.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think I don't see a world where we win every game from the rest of the season because of a game winning drive at the end of it.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_05]: At some point we got to win by a couple points.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_05]: Let's do it this week.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_05]: The defensive pressure isn't eliminating damaging plays.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_05]: So we had five sacks last week.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_05]: He took through for 299 yards and three touchdowns.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_05]: We need to
- 40:13[SPEAKER_05]: and kill these drives so people don't come back.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_05]: Next ball security isn't hasn't become consistent advantage for us.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_05]: We got five turnovers.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_05]: Sorry, we've made five turnovers.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_05]: We only have created four.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_05]: That's a minus one we need to do better.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_05]: So the browns have an awesome foundation.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_05]: but we need to cut the penalties, sustain, rushing production at the end of the game, so it can salt away victories, and then we need to play a more complete second half.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_05]: Don't let teams back into it, but that is the part of being a young team.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_05]: We're going to jump on teams and then the vets, like the Steelers, made some plays at the end, and that got them back in the game, but thank God.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_05]: We did enough with a game winning field goal from Andy Smiths to seal that off.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_05]: So let's talk about the jets.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_05]: What do you guys think we need to do to beat the jets this week?
- 41:13[SPEAKER_05]: Here's a couple things that I checked in the last four games.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_05]: that the jets are struggling with.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_05]: So number one is rushing the ball.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_05]: They average 84 yards a game, 3.8.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_05]: 4 yards a carry.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_05]: So we should be able to stop the run without committing extra defenders.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_05]: That's big.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_05]: Now in the last three games, they have allowed 12.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_05]: sacks.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_05]: We are a pressure machine.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_05]: We are turning into a sack machine.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_05]: Third and longs are great for this defensive front.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_05]: Let's keep that going.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_05]: The other thing that helps with that is we are only allowing 34% on third down perversions, which I mentioned early.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_05]: They can only convert 32%.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_05]: They're 16 to 50.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_05]: So we need to finish stops and we need to avoid penalties to extend possessions, which we did not do against the Steelers and let them right back in the game.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_05]: They are allowing 123.5 rushing yards again.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_05]: Another perfect opportunity to get Judkins going and get him running.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_05]: And let's actually get a lead and run the lead.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_05]: and run the ball, salt the time, and get a victory.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_05]: And like a big victory.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_05]: Next, I don't want to talk about again.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_05]: Don't put in the universe, but they have 37 penalties.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_05]: It looks like it might be a laundry game because at this point, I just don't know if that's going to stop on the offensive side for us.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_05]: I think the defensive ones are an easier one to stop.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_05]: Don't expect the ball to be turned over this weekend.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_05]: Junosmith has zero interceptions.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_05]: They have one giveaway.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_05]: So they have to earn this lead in other avenues I think and I have three main things I really need to see the Browns to win this game from the Browns to win this game.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_05]: My three priorities, they gotta be stopped the run, stopping the run forces third and long, third and long for our defense and our defensive front, the way they pressure the quarterback, we hopefully can finally break the streak with
- 43:20[SPEAKER_05]: uh... genosmith and get him the throne and reception breathe that ball in breathe it in and get that interception that we need the other thing is as they're giving up a ton of yardage on the ground sustained drives the balanced offence is paramount for us to uh... when this game and we have to have manageable second downs the one thing i really want to see from the shot in Watson again is is he able to
- 43:47[SPEAKER_05]: place the ball when the running back is running out of the back field in stride because I feel like this is going to be a short passing game type of game against the jets.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_05]: The other thing I think the Browns are going to bust a big screenplay.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you've noticed.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_05]: I think in the last three games for sure.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_05]: The Browns didn't either ground or turf a ball or have TJ Wat, poke the ball out of QJ's hands.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_05]: There would be some ample opportunity for some big play screens in the last three games.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_05]: It did not rear its head, however, I think it will this week.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_05]: And for whatever reason there is a knack on this team, the call at the right time, it just hasn't come to fruition.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_05]: The other thing is, the Browns fan in me, after the way we lost last year, I would really like to see KC conception, return a touchdown for a punt, I like a punt return touchdown, and that would kind of salt away the wounds from last year.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_05]: A win will solve it away no matter what, but you guys know what I mean.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_05]: Last but not least, preserve stops and scoring opportunities to discipline and ball security.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_05]: Last week, dumb penalties and bad turnovers in the fourth quarter kept us from winning by two scores or more.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_05]: If they can control that, they should have a good opportunity to do what they did against the Steelers.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_05]: and have a 10 plus point lead.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_05]: So we'll see what happens.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_05]: Well, the browns on browns crime, who knows?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_05]: We'll see.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_05]: But that's my prediction, guys.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_05]: I just want to quit get into the browns backers.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, I love it.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna have my own browns backers myself.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_05]: The lake would dog pound and the nuts tailgating.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_05]: They're presenting the bash in the Nash.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_05]: It was sold out, but guess what?
- 45:42[SPEAKER_05]: $350 per person that $350 you get four things you get a round trip party bus to Nashville you get one ticket to the game You get to hang out and tailgate with the nats.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_05]: It's a VIP tailgate and then you get all other bash in the Nash events

- 46:09[SPEAKER_05]: So go to the Lakewood Browns Bakters you can find them on Facebook or you can contact Rodney at 2-1-6-338-6-2-95.

- 46:22[SPEAKER_05]: I will be with the lot.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_05]: the liquid brows backers.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_05]: I am flying in.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_05]: I am not on the bus.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_05]: I live too far away to drive all the way to Cleveland and then hit on the bus, but I will be hanging out with them for the majority of the week.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_05]: That's all I got guys.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_05]: Cleveland.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_05]: Brownies.

- 46:48[SPEAKER_05]: Let's go.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_05]: Woohoo.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_05]: Woohoo.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_05]: Woohoo.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sportsbooks before right.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing against the house.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_00]: You're not betting against some sportsbook.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_00]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_00]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: You can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just sports either.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: It works like this, simple yes or no market, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: So, if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Cowshin see what markets are live right now.

- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: We got voicemails.
- 49:03[SPEAKER_00]: Let's kick it in to gear here, which you guys have to say the first thing here, though I do have a message from the website, remember you guys can go to thedogspockass.com, Tap the voicemail, send in your voicemail to get played on the show, or you can type up a message just like Landon did here, and Landon says going into this jets game, should we be worried about the Sean Watson's play coming off a mini-by week and losing some of that consistency that he's been trying to get after so many days off?
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's only been 10 days, just worried about it.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_00]: Go dogs.
- 49:29[SPEAKER_00]: Wolf Wolf.
- 49:31[SPEAKER_00]: I think that these little mini-buy week opportunities that come up for some teams whenever you have the Thursday night football game, then you don't play again until the following Sunday.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a great way, especially where it lined up for the Browns.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_00]: I like that it came after the fourth game.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I talked about splitting the season into chunks.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_00]: So you had your first quarter of the season, and then you get a little mini-buy week to prep and get ready for the kickoff of the second quarter of the season.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I said this before, I'm going to keep saying it, you kind of, you've got to ebb and flow your opinions obviously as the season goes on, you know, the Browns could, who I've already said, it could easily be one and three right now instead of three and one.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: We've won three, one score of very close games we've needed a fourth quarter come back to do it.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I definitely overreacted after week one.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think Todd Munkin, I didn't give him enough credit.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_00]: You gotta remember, and I don't think anyone's gonna argue with me out there who's a diehard Browns fan.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_00]: We've got the fricking emotional scars from decades of watching this stuff that it's very easy overreacted that sort of performance we saw in week one and say, yep, he's a one and done.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're not ready to go.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_00]: This team's a mess.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_00]: This is a disaster blah, blah, blah.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, now we've got three more games here after that showing us that, okay, Todd Monk and does have these guys dialed in their young team.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it goes back to what I was expecting before the season started.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's going to be a little bit rough to start the season here, because young guys, most of the players on this roster have either, you know, but less than two years of experience or either in their second year or their or rookie, or if you're like, you know, Jared versus some of these guys during the 30, you're like, most of these guys are very young and experienced, playing with each other for the first time, a lot of them,
- 51:11[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, like Quincy Williams is a great example.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_00]: You saw him in week one, rough game for Quincy Williams.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, man, maybe this wasn't the free agent offseason signing that I was excited about.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then the last three games is like, okay, he's here.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_00]: He's that dude and he's showing everything that I was excited.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_00]: that made me excited that we have him now on the roster.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not worried about the many by week interrupting anything with the consistency.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_00]: If anything, it's helping these guys prepare a little bit more.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's helping them get healthy.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, tend to some, you know, aches and pains that maybe because again, you came off a Sunday, a tight Sunday win at home against Caroline and then had to turn around four days later and do it again.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the break was
- 51:58[SPEAKER_00]: The Sean Watson does concern me.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: I am, I'm not going to sit here like some people want to say he's back.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_00]: Tony Rizzo on ESPN Cleveland, like, was it earlier this week said the Sean Watson is back.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's not back.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: If you look at what he's on pace for this year, his 17 game pace puts him statistically on par with Baker Mayfield's best statistical season and Cleveland.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_00]: And the Brown said, yeah, that's not good enough we're moving on from you.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: Unfortunately, that's where we're at.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it's still a good season, but it's not top five quarterback plays, it's not we traded three first round picks,
- 52:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but at the end of the day, as long as you have Baker Mayfield statistical output and we're winning games, I could give it less about your statistical output, just win the games.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_00]: Just win the games.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_00]: We let the rest worry about itself as far as what the rounds are going to do in the future.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_00]: First, voice mail here, this one's from shivvy.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, boys, it's shivvy again.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_02]: And by the way, John, if I was at home and my mother just went to bed so I didn't want to wake her up.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_02]: If I, if I lived alone, I would be young and screaming.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_02]: Anyways, I am getting sick and tired of the disrespect for the Browns.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_02]: How in the hell are the jets favored by two and a half?
- 53:29[SPEAKER_02]: beyond me.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_02]: We have a three and one record, let's understand I get it.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_02]: Records are all what you can go off of with favor and whatnot.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's home field of anage and whatnot.
- 53:39[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like our talent on our team is so much better than the Jets.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_02]: The grant that they have Garrett Wilson, which Garrett Wilson is a dog.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_02]: I love Garrett Wilson because I'm a
- 53:54[SPEAKER_02]: that the Browns aren't favored.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's crazy.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_02]: And also, the Sean Watson will not be on the team next year.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_02]: I am guaranteeing that we should put Dylan Gabriel on IR for the rest of the year have Shidorah at the back and start Shidorah next year.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_02]: That is what I think.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: All righty.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_02]: Go Browns.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: All right, thanks, Shivie.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you definitely don't want to wake up your mom.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure she would not appreciate that very much, especially.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe she had to work the next day.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm guessing, uh, those Thursday night games are just always so tough.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's Sunday night games Monday night games where people have to work the next day.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_00]: You got kids in bed or whatever for everybody out there.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's like I want to go ballistic when the Browns win, but you still got a dialed in.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_00]: I had to dial it in when I did my my reaction video and all that stuff, but
- 54:37[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I already talked about it.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: Why are they favored and why I think that the Browns should win this game.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Browns haven't opportunity here to make a statement.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_00]: When this one pretty handily and start really changing the narrative, moving forward.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_00]: But
- 54:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the, I'm not Vegas.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm not, I'm not looking at what they're like, I'm not thinking, I don't know what they're taking into account here.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure the home field advantage has to do with it.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Browns went to New York last year and can say worst jet steam and lost.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_00]: So there's that.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're trying to make up for that.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's the fact that we could be one in three just like them, just like Todd Munkin said.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_00]: We've won the last three games, but those very easily could have gone the other way because they were so close.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_00]: We're riding high as brown stands, but we also have to stop and really look at this realistically and say, okay, we're a good team, we are a good team.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_00]: But we got a lot of things we got to work on.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: If we're going to continue being this type of team.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, Chevy, I think that's where we're at there.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then as far as next year, I'm with you right now.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I think things can obviously change.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't see a situation where the Browns can realistically extend to Sean Watson for next year if they even want to.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if he would even want to be back.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: I just,
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: I got a talk.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to reach out maybe here and later in the season maybe over the by week sometime try to get jacked up and on the podcast here.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was on a couple years ago to talk about some salary cap stuff.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: I really want to break it down with him because the way I'm looking at his analysis and the contract situation, I do not see a scenario where
- 56:22[SPEAKER_00]: an extension would make sense financially for both the Sean Watson side and for the Brown salary cap situation.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_00]: I just I can't see a number for for an extension with him that would satisfy what he would want as a starting quarterback in the NFL and what the Brown's could realistically allocate from their cap space to him.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know, man, we'll we'll see, but
- 56:50[SPEAKER_00]: Again, Browns continue to put out there in the media that they are happy with Shidorah Sanders progression.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_00]: They like how he's coming along behind the scenes.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're continuing to work with him.
- 56:59[SPEAKER_00]: They really liked the way he's developing.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I posted this on, on, on, and he has to be an Cleveland post.
- 57:06[SPEAKER_00]: They put on X and Tony Rizzle was talking about just trade Shidorah to a team where he can play.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_00]: I want to see him go play.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sitting there like, well, if you want to see Shondor go play so badly, if you think he's that good, why the hell would you want to trade him?
- 57:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I comment and said, you know, for years now, Browns fans, Browns media collectively, we have all bitched in mind that this team never gives a young quarterback an opportunity to just sit, develop, mature, and progress.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then as soon as the team gives a young quarterback the opportunity to sit and grow and develop and mature, our first reaction is trade them away, get rid of them.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_00]: Why, you know, fifth round rookie deal.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_00]: You think they're going to trade him away?
- 57:53[SPEAKER_00]: No, I think that there's a very real avenue where the Browns,
- 57:59[SPEAKER_00]: feel good enough about the development for Shondor Sanders from his rookie year last year through this season into 2027 where they're okay with turning to him as their starter.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is a real possibility.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 58:14[SPEAKER_00]: Again, time will tell, we'll see how it goes, all these conversations we can continue having to show.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for the voice mail.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_00]: Next up, we've got Derby City Dog.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_03]: Once up dogs, broadcast, I wanted to comment on something that I really like that Josh said the other day on the podcast, which was that if you can make it to the dance, anything can happen when it comes to the playoffs, just getting to the playoffs.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_03]: opens up a world of possibility, isn't that just reminded me of the 2007 New York Giants?
- 58:44[SPEAKER_03]: They came in second in the NFC East, wild card, made it all the way to the Super Bowl against the Patriots that we now know were in the middle of their dynasty, and they won.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_03]: And so anything is possible if you make it to the playoffs, anything is possible,
- 59:05[SPEAKER_03]: And so I just wanted to put that out there and it was just an exciting season that you remember watching.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, go Brownie is woohoo!
- 59:14[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, Derby City dog, making to the dance anything can happen.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_00]: You have no idea in January, what is going to happen with these other teams, injuries?
- 59:27[SPEAKER_00]: You have no idea what their rosters are going to look like, how things are going for them.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: if the Browns are able to make the playoffs and we catch fire at the right time or simultaneously want another team is dealing with some injuries to their offensive line or maybe even their quarterback or what have you and the Browns can take advantage of some you know adverse opportunities for those other team.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: You never know what can happen and like you said the giants that was the year the the Patriots were undefeated correct and my wrong about that I should look
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: made it all the way to Super Bowl and then that was the one game they lost to the New York Giants and the thing.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_00]: You know as much as I don't I don't like to Sean Watson as a person or you know Really as a player that my team is rostering right now.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_00]: I do acknowledge that's the fact that he is a ten-year veteran Who has years
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it's been years in the past, but does have historically does have seasons where he was very good.
- 1:00:29[SPEAKER_00]: Top five, quarter back in the lead type of stuff.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that he's going to regain that form or be a top five.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'm what I'm saying is if you can get to the playoffs, you have a guy who does have experience playing in the playoffs, playing at a high level in the playoffs.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_00]: can help navigate a young team through those challenging situations.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_00]: So if he can stay healthy, if he can continue to sustain just a top at average, just average quarterback, average league play throughout the full season.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think there are moments in the playoffs that he could be an asset for us and anything can happen.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_00]: Start a baby, want to know this week, move us to five and one, or four and one, sorry, excuse me, move us to four and one.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: And let's go, let's have a season to remember here, okay?
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: Derby City dog, thank you for the voice mail my friend.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, and one of the things I did want to point out there too, just another example, about when the Eagles won with Nick Fools.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody expected them to be able to do anything after Carson once went down with his season ending injury and there they go just marching through the playoffs ultimately won the Super Bowl with Nick Fools.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's just it's just another example of if you can make it there if you can get yourself a spot in the postseason opportunity awaits.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_00]: So let's do it and let's also wrap up the show today with the voicemail
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_01]: Hey guys, this is Adam from Chattanooga.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_00]: I just realized we have a lot of atoms that call into the show.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_01]: We should start our own Adam dogs episodes.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, Justin, the last episode you asked in what world would Watson agree to play starting quarterback for $7 million?
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think in a world where no other team in the NFL wants to take on his PR nightmare, even if we end up with a winning record, you know, or make the playoffs the season.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_01]: In my eyes, Watson has no leverage, like nobody wants him.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: And we barely want him.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we've, we're winning games, but, you know, he needs to accept with the Browns.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: If they want to offer him something lowballer and take it or leave it, you know,
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_01]: Take your talents to try to take your talents somewhere else, you know, he's already taken enough money from his parents, as far as I'm concerned, but I, you know, I agree with what you said, we have Shidorah pairing him up next season with the weapons we have now, that's the right move for the future, you know, especially with those guys having a whole year of experience and a feel experience under their belt's next season, that's definitely the way to go.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway,
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_01]: Love the podcast.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_00]: Go Browns.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we do have a couple different atoms that call under the show here and we love all our atoms.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: We love everybody out there.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you guys so much for continuing to watch, engage with the show, follow along, call in and it's just so awesome to hear from you guys.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I hear what you're saying, man, I really do about the Sean Watson having no leverage.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: That,
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_00]: The part of me that's like, yeah, I see that.
- 1:03:38[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm with you, 100%, because I don't, I said it before.
- 1:03:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sure another team wants to take on that PR nightmare, however.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_00]: I also have to acknowledge that Deshawn Watson works with David Milageta, the most powerful agent in an olive sports.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think that holds some weight, I do.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that was probably a driving factor in him getting this last opportunity here this year with Cleveland, because I don't know if he would have gotten this opportunity.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_00]: head of the season, but you got to remember there's more that there's more that plays into these contract negotiations than just the team and the player talking about it's the team and the agent and the agent's going to be out there doing everything he can to pull whatever string season got to pull to get to Sean Watson as much money as possible because again that's just it's another feather in the cap for the agent another thing he can go to potential new clients and say look what I was able to do for this guy.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_00]: So, we will see how it goes.
- 1:04:36[SPEAKER_00]: But just like, I know it was jacked up and that suggested that $7,000,000 won your $7,000 contract for Deshawn Watts.
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like,
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's, what, that's double the league minimum.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't a league minimum, like 3.5 or something like that.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's what like Kyler Murray and those guys play on whenever the other team holds the bulk of the contract, I just cannot see that flying.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_00]: But I don't know, I don't know it because, you know, like whenever you say like, Oh, well, Kyler Murray is playing for the league minimum.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing for the league minimum for Minnesota, but he's still getting paid.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it is, $40, $50 million total this year from the Cardinals.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_00]: See, next year for Deshawn Watson, if the Browns have them on a one-year $7 million contract, he's only getting paid $7 million, cause all of the other money has already been paid.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, I don't know, it's why the situation's so honestly, it's really interesting to me to see how this is gonna play out and that's why I want to talk to Jack Duff and specifically about
- 1:05:34[SPEAKER_00]: this, because maybe I'm misunderstanding the contract implications and the cap salary stuff that's already on the books for next year, whether he's on the team or not.
- 1:05:47[SPEAKER_00]: We got the Jets on Sunday.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start there.
- 1:05:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's start with the Jets on Sunday.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see another good performance from the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:05:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see a full game performance from the Sean Waston for the first time this season.
- 1:05:59[SPEAKER_00]: And let's just score some points.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_00]: Let's punch them in the mouth and put the foot on the throat and don't let it up until the game's over.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_00]: Please, come on.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go Browns.
- 1:06:09[SPEAKER_00]: Let's win the game.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_00]: decidedly I want to be able to just breathe in that fourth quarter and not feel like my gosh we're gonna blow this because as a brownspan when a game is close yet just go to like we invent ways to lose and we saw it last year in New York against the jets and that's why it's scary
- 1:06:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I think we got a new team, we got a new culture, we got new young players, new coaching staff.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let's do this.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let's make our first big statement game, big statement of the season here with a big win over the New York Jets in week five.
