- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Can I roll my eyes at the end of it?
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Sure, you always do.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: I uh told this to my high school chorus today, and uh actually they kind of liked it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 0:55SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: So um why can't why don't millennials like odd numbers?
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: No, wait, wait, wait.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: Why can millennials only count odd numbers?
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Because they can't even thank you.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Just getting that little roll eye roll and the shaking of the head.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: I know it's a good dad joke.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: I'm just looking for something to throw at you.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Please no.
- 1:32SPEAKER_07: Please no.
- 1:33SPEAKER_07: That's safe, looks dangerous.
- 1:37SPEAKER_07: No, it's safe.
- 1:40SPEAKER_07: Oh, he's two for two, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:43SPEAKER_07: There's no stopping him now.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: That's what I've heard.
- 1:49SPEAKER_08: There we go.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 1:54SPEAKER_08: Yeah, we didn't think we'd have anything to talk about.
- 1:56SPEAKER_08: Take a look at that.
- 1:57SPEAKER_08: There's a podcast right there.
- 1:58SPEAKER_08: Good night, everybody.
- 2:00SPEAKER_08: Let her bye-bye.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: What is happening?
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: So to before we get ahead of ourselves, we want to let you know at the top of the show, we realize that we forgot the new mixtape question last week.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: After we after we were done the podcast, we're like, oh, we didn't pick a new question.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: We're big dummy dummy heads.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: So today we're gonna do the past mixtape question and the future mixtape question, but no present.
- 2:31SPEAKER_07: We're just climbing in that DeLorean and just skipping stuff.
- 2:36SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 2:36SPEAKER_07: So beep.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: We'll do that when we get to it.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: What has happened since I took a trip with my daughter downstate.
- 2:44SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, that's right.
- 2:45SPEAKER_07: You went Saturday.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Went Saturday.
- 2:47SPEAKER_07: Because we had a gig Friday.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, well, let's start there, actually.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So we played Maple Pig.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_01: And I thought we sounded great.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: I thought so.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: I think and I usually don't say that.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And we got we got some pretty good reaction from the from the crowd.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: So that was that was nice.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: It was hard to tell.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Well, there was a couple people that were cheering every time.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: So it was um they're biased.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: But I thought we sounded pretty good.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I was I was I was pleased with the way it went over.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: It was fun.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: That's another thing too.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: We decided uh well, I decided, and then and you were like, Yeah, let's do that.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Uh after last week's podcast, and we talked about all these these songs that we'd like to cover, that we were gonna throw just kind of call them out and throw you throw in songs that we don't normally do or songs we haven't done in a long time, and some of our own songs.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:35SPEAKER_08: And we did it, and it was great.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was a lot of fun.
- 3:37SPEAKER_08: Yeah, it was fun.
- 3:38SPEAKER_08: It was enjoyable.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: And we're playing this Friday in Holton, so I think we should do that again.
- 3:42SPEAKER_07: I think so too.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think just make it our own.
- 3:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Um I'm I I I'm a people pleaser to a fault.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: So when I when we get up there, you no when when we get up there, it's usually like, okay, that one didn't get them, so let's try this one.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, let's try this one.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: And you know, and you know, before long, I'm like, you can make a request.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: And then you look at me and go, don't say that.
- 4:08SPEAKER_07: I'm always uh I always dread that qu when you do that, I'm always like, oh, here we go.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: But uh you know Ah, F me.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: Because I want to please the crowd.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, you do.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: And I'm slowly getting over that.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Yes, you are.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: You are you are coming around to the dark side.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: I am.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So you know I am.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: So uh so yeah, we had a gig Friday and Saturday.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: My daughter and I my daughter had to play uh Junior Coyote Classic.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: It's like a travel basketball uh tournament.
- 4:34SPEAKER_07: What does coyotes have to do with basketball?
- 4:36SPEAKER_07: I don't think I don't know.
- 4:37SPEAKER_07: I think it's just a uh I'm pretty sure.
- 4:39SPEAKER_07: I think it's I will I will check my notes.
- 4:44SPEAKER_07: Are those your notes?
- 4:45SPEAKER_07: These are my notes.
- 4:45SPEAKER_07: I was wondering what the heck that was.
- 4:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it says right here, Coyotes don't play basketball.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: Well, I think it's the mascot of something down there, and they host it.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: So to answer your question.
- 4:58SPEAKER_07: Well, they're stupid.
- 5:00SPEAKER_07: All right.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Enough said.
- 5:02SPEAKER_07: Uh I already know who they are.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: You're stupid.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: So um so we went down early so we could do a little bit of shopping and we Bull Moose.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: I did take her to Bull Moose.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Of course you did.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: She wanted to leave right away.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: Of course she did.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: Not surprised.
- 5:17SPEAKER_07: So I I did get a couple Bull Moose is very uh niche shopping.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: It's also yeah, it's it's not kid friendly.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Like you're not even close.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: 10-year-old kid friendly, no.
- 5:27SPEAKER_07: Oh, it's not even fifteen-year-old kid friendly.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 5:28SPEAKER_07: It's I mean, I'm telling you, man, that's that's it's a sketchy place.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: It is a sketchy place.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: But I love it.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: But I went in and, you know, uh because I said, well, we'll we'll go to Bull Moose for a few minutes, and uh I said, all right, let me let me think about what I'm looking for.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: So I made a list in my mind of what I'm looking for, and and she memorized the list.
- 5:47SPEAKER_07: Of course she did.
- 5:47SPEAKER_07: She was like, if I if I remember, we'll get out of there fashion.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I'd be like, okay, so this one's not here.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: What was next?
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: And she'd she'd tell me what was next.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: So anyway, I got a couple.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: I don't have them with me.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: They're in I think they're still in the car, actually.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: I got uh an album from Sting, and I got an album from Edward.
- 6:05SPEAKER_01: You mean Gordon?
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Gordon Samnah.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Sumna.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: And uh Edwin McCain, a live one from Edwin McCain.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: So uh name I haven't heard in a while.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And so yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Uh and then we see she had two games on Saturday.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: She lost them both.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: Played really aggressively, really good.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: But lost them both.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: That's too bad.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: Stayed at a hotel, which was great.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Well, actually, we went to Applebee's.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, my whole weekend.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Went to Appleby's because it was just dad and daughter, and you know, we could.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Um it was during the Duke uh UNC game, but we couldn't watch it because it was on the other side of the restaurant.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: Anyway, uh we got back and basically conked out in the hotel uh because we had to get up early.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: Because she lost two games.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Uh her next game on Sunday morning was actually really early.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: So it was like eight o'clock.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Uh.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Which is in a half an hour away.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: So we had to we had to uh go to bed early.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: And she lost that game too.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: So it was a clean sweep um for the weekend.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: Uh they played really well, just the other teams were from down there and bigger and fifth and sixth grade.
- 7:16SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: And um they play basketball all year round, you know, and we really don't because of snow and well, we don't have any place to play basketball around.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Well, what kind of, yeah.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Um, so I'm not making excuses.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Um they they played pretty well, but but one of the games was pretty lopsided, so I felt bad for them.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: But but um they were better teams down there.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: Well, it goes.
- 7:42SPEAKER_07: What are you gonna do?
- 7:43SPEAKER_07: You can't do it, you know.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: You know, they face they they face that in the high school too, you like varsity games.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: You know, you go down and you play a uh a team down there and they're also football players, you know, they're just bigger.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: They're just bigger, made of you know, bigger stock.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: And and uh it's a challenge.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: But anyway.
- 8:01SPEAKER_07: Well, plus you got more people to choose from down there.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's true.
- 8:04SPEAKER_07: No, you only have you only have so you only have so many people up here.
- 8:07SPEAKER_07: That's true.
- 8:07SPEAKER_07: And uh you know, that's it.
- 8:08SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 8:08SPEAKER_07: That's all you got.
- 8:09SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 8:09SPEAKER_07: You know, they're not they're not shipping people up from downstate to play up here.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 8:13SPEAKER_07: It's not happening.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_07: Because they're not gonna, you know, they're not gonna want to drive up here.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: Matter of fact, we're recording on on a Tuesday night, and the the girls varsity, it's our cross town cross town rival game between uh Prescale and Caribou tonight.
- 8:25SPEAKER_10: Ah, yeah.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: So that's where my whole family is, is at the girls' game.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I will be at the boys' game tomorrow.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Boys, boys, uh plural.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Both uh Finn and Eli have games tomorrow against Caribou.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: So we'll see how that goes.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: That's why you're skipping practice.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: That's why I'm skipping Star City Syndicate practice here.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: No.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Um and then let's see, what uh then Sunday after that game, we went I think we went shopping again.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: We went to another couple stores.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: Uh we you know, one of the things we did was we went to Best Buy because here's I'm looking for something.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: I want you to tell me if you've ever heard of it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: Because Best Buy or what you're looking for?
- 9:07SPEAKER_07: Because I've heard of both.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Well, no, I know if you you've heard of Best Buy.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: That's why I bought my computer.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: So here's what I'm looking for, and you don't have to worry about it because you have one in your car, I think.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: CD player?
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 9:21SPEAKER_07: What but uh what I want is I don't want I because and and I've I'm You don't want one of the 90s ones where you have to plug it, you know, take put the tape into the tape deck and plug it into the CD blur.
- 9:33SPEAKER_07: I don't have a tape deck and listen to it skip.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: I don't have a tape deck.
- 9:35SPEAKER_07: Uh I'm just remembering.
- 9:37SPEAKER_07: Remember those days?
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Yes, I do.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: I actually do want something like that.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Here's the thing.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: So I'm embracing my middle age.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Um I hate streaming.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's i it's I I hate it because I can't get the songs I want.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: I used to make back when I had my RAV, which had a CD player, yeah.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: I used to take CDRs and make a mixed CD.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Songs that I love.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: That I, you know, there's no skips.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna skip a song because I I love them all.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: I like them all, yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: And I would take that, you know, wherever I go.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: When I get sick of that one, I'd burn another one.
- 10:16SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: Um you can't I can't cause in with streaming, as as great as it is, I mean you can make a playlist on Spotify, I guess.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: But I can't skip it because I d I don't subscribe to Spotify.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: I don't uh it's not the premium.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: Whatever, so I can't I only get like three or four skips or however many it is.
- 10:35SPEAKER_07: Well you really should subscribe to Spotify because then everybody instead of getting 0.000002 cents for every song, they'll get 0.00003 cents, maybe.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: I knew that was sarcasm.
- 10:49SPEAKER_07: Of course it's sarcasm.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: Spotify sucks.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: So sucks big monkey bugs.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So what I'm looking for, and I I know they exist, I don't know how they how well they work, but a because I don't want to destroy my dash to my new vehicle.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: I don't want to I don't want to I don't understand I don't want to take out that that radio and put it a new one.
- 11:09SPEAKER_07: Dude, I think if you're if you were gonna do something like that, NASA would have to come and do it.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's true.
- 11:14SPEAKER_07: You know, it's just crazy now.
- 11:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: So I want a portable CD player with Bluetooth.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Do you know what I mean?
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: Like like like like a walk like a CD Walkman sort of thing that you can just kind of um I don't know, attach somewhere on your dash and it has Bluetooth and the car will hook to it.
- 11:40SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 11:41SPEAKER_10: And you can just play CDs in the car.
- 11:43SPEAKER_10: Does such a thing exist?
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: I think it does, because I looked it up.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: I mean, they have them on Amazon, um, and there was one in in Best Buy, so I went into Best Buy, and they have them, but they have they're like boom boxes.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: They're like a small boom box that has Bluetooth.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: So I said, theoretically, could I put a CD in this boom box and my car would hook to Yeah, should should be able to.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: I go, okay, that's great.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: This is too big.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: You know, because I'm not gonna put that in my car.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: I want a I want a portable one, I want a small one.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Something small.
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: Does it have like uh built-in speakers?
- 12:20SPEAKER_01: That one did.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: That one did document.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: It's like a boom box.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: So I want a I want like a like a CD, what did they call those?
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: CD Walkman, I guess?
- 12:29SPEAKER_07: Uh yeah, it was just basically just like a CD player, but no speakers.
- 12:33SPEAKER_07: It would just, you know, put the CD in.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: You put your headphones on.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: So I want something like that, but that has Bluetooth so that my car can connect to it and I can just slap in my mixed CD.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: I know that makes me sound really old, but that's you know, that's fine.
- 12:46SPEAKER_07: No, it would sound really old if you were like, I'd like to find an eight-track player.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Well, um so it's either that.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: It's either find that CD player or it's um uh trade in my car and get an older older vehicle.
- 13:01SPEAKER_07: I'd like to turn this car in for something made in uh 2000.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Well, I'll tell you what, I looked up my um uh trade-in value of my car now because we paid a lot of money for it.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: Um it's a it's the first new car, quote unquote new car that we've ever bought.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: And bec we bought that because A Moose destroyed the other one.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Well, a moose destroyed the other one, yes.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: But and I did get I was there.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: I did get, you know, uh a good chunk of insurance money to buy a new car.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Correct.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Um but um when we were shopping for vehicles, I think we've talked about this, the price of a uh vehicle that was, I don't know, three years old, four years old, maybe even six years old was two thousand dollars less than a new vehicle.
- 13:55SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: The used vehicle market, I mean, was just ridiculous at the at the time that we were looking.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: And it didn't make any sense to buy a car that was six years old when you could spend another couple thousand dollars and get a brand new car.
- 14:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: So that's what we did.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And we got a hybrid, and so far um have not had any trouble with it.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: But I have read about some issues, especially with salt, uh the salt on the ground and the batteries, because the batteries in those things, the um the EV, I guess, uh are like twenty grand.
- 14:34SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, they're super expensive.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:36SPEAKER_07: So I mean, they gotta pay like African kids like two cents a day to dig that stuff out, man.
- 14:41SPEAKER_07: I mean, come on.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, you joke, but I'm not joking, I'm being dead serious.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know?
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:48SPEAKER_01: So so I I said this to my wife, and m my wife who's pretty frugal, she actually said, Yeah, we'll need to get rid of that sooner than we usually do.
- 14:59SPEAKER_09: Wow.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: It's like it's it's not one of the ones we're gonna drive into the ground, you know, like just drive it till it's uh till it dies.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Because if the battery does go, You might as well just throw it away.
- 15:12SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 15:12SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 15:13SPEAKER_07: I mean, seriously.
- 15:13SPEAKER_07: I mean, you know, that's why I'm totally against electric vehicles because it's all battery.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: And it's so stupidly expensive to run.
- 15:24SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's just like, what the frig?
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_07: You know?
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: This is a hybrid and it's not a plug-in hybrid, so it's it it's doing okay so far.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Um but um and it's got twenty-six thousand miles on it.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And I've had it a year.
- 15:41SPEAKER_10: That's not bad.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: A little over a year, I should say.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: And so I looked in the trade-in value, just for giggles.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: And the trade-in value is about uh twenty-five.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Twenty-four, twenty-five for that vehicle.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: So it's it's about half.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: About half.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's about half.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Um so I don't know what we're gonna do or when we're gonna do it, but we're gonna have to and but see the next vehicle I want to get has to have to be player.
- 16:14SPEAKER_08: Wow.
- 16:15SPEAKER_08: Naturally.
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: I mean, come on.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Why don't they put them in cars anymore?
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, yes, people stream all the time now, but you why not have that option too?
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: I bet you you could.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I bet you can.
- 16:28SPEAKER_07: I bet you you just have to look for it.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: And I bet I I bet if you uh if you I bet if you really if you were really adamant about it, they would find you one just to make the sale.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, you're probably right.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: You know, so you're probably right.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: And I want a truck next time, I think.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Like one of these big uh douchebag type trucks that you know.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: No, uh, there's a there is a um a friend of mine.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Uh he's an older gentleman.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: Um he has a uh truck that is not oversized, like my father-in-law's, which he has a big diesel.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, you know.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I don't think you want a diesel.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: But it's not like my son's.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: So it's um it was nice.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: It's like a mid-sized you know, it's a GMC made by GMC.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: The gas, you know, that's one of the reasons we we never really got a truck, is because the gas is just awful.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they eat gas.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: It's you know, yeah.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: Um so, but I don't care anymore.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: I want a truck.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Um why not?
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: So we'll see what happens.
- 17:39SPEAKER_07: You only got like 20, 25 years of driving left anyway.
- 17:43SPEAKER_07: So I mean, come on.
- 17:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 17:44SPEAKER_07: I mean they're eventually gonna take away your license.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: I got to think it about that.
- 17:48SPEAKER_07: I can't wait till they take away mine.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Are you gonna put up a stink?
- 17:53SPEAKER_07: No.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: You just be like, here you go.
- 17:56SPEAKER_07: Hey, uh Doug, uh, we gotta go somewhere.
- 17:58SPEAKER_07: Well, I can't drive anymore.
- 17:59SPEAKER_07: They took my license, so I'll see y'all later.
- 18:02SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna stay here and look at stuff.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: In the nursing home?
- 18:08SPEAKER_07: I doubt I'll be in a nursing home.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: You don't think so?
- 18:11SPEAKER_07: I think I'll just be sitting out in the woods somewhere.
- 18:14SPEAKER_07: Where's Doug?
- 18:16SPEAKER_07: Uh I don't know.
- 18:17SPEAKER_07: We haven't seen him in like three months.
- 18:19SPEAKER_07: They took away his license.
- 18:20SPEAKER_07: We haven't seen him since.
- 18:21SPEAKER_07: He's looking at trees.
- 18:22SPEAKER_07: He's he's communing with squirrels.
- 18:27SPEAKER_07: I know Steve.
- 18:28SPEAKER_07: I can't understand it.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Not that this you just made me think of something.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: Squirrels?
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: No.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, and I don't know why he just made me think of something.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Steve?
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: Although, Steve, this is such a neat ADHD podcast.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: Holy cow, you just said squirrels.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: And then you just said Steve.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: So this is a Steve and Squirrel podcast.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: I'm on I'm on Pluto TV the other night because my my uh Finn comes home and wants to watch his his guy on YouTube, which is Who's his guy?
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Uh it's like a landscaper uh guy who Oh, why am I not surprised by that?
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Well, I will tell you what though, he learns a lot from watching.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: But it, you know, he occupies the whole TV.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: And so I said, When when do I get to watch anything?
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: So anyway, so I get the remote and I'm dialing around and I I'm on Pluto TV, right?
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: And we'll go to the movies, and what's on?
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Multiplicity.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Ah! And so I so I I I turn on and my wife is on the computer, my daughter is in the room, and Finn is in the room, right?
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: And they're not really paying attention, and I I I click on it, and it's it's a scene about where Michael Keaton is talking to one of the one of the clones, and he says, Did you sleep with my wife?
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: And he gets really mad, and he's like, She thought it was you, and blah blah blah.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: She did, she thought it was you.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: And then I said to my wife, I said, They probably can't watch this, right?
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: She's like, No, they can't watch this.
- 19:55SPEAKER_01: And we just for an instant we all get sucked in.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: They were watching it, and Myra goes, Are they twins?
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: Or oh wait, are they are they triplet?
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: What what are they and I said, I just I what I want to see Steve or or you know the the Steve, right?
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Steve and and he wasn't in the scene, and then all of a sudden they show up.
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: She's like, Well, there he is, and he's sitting on the couch, and he's got like a uh I don't know, something on his face, but he's eating something and blah blah blah.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: We're watching every second, and we're kind of just glued to the TV, and he's like, and there's a silence, and he turns to Michael Keaton and he goes, She touched my Pepe thief.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: She touched my Pepe thief.
- 20:42SPEAKER_08: My wife got so mad.
- 20:44SPEAKER_08: Turn that channel.
- 20:46SPEAKER_08: Anyway.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: But yeah, so you did make me think of that.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: Well, there we go.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: What I was gonna say before was I was listening to another podcast.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Yes, I was.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: I was cheating on us.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: I do it all the time.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Um, and it was uh interview with Darius Rucker.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Did you know he has an autobiography out?
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: I did not know that.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Uh and I when I was in Bangor uh over the weekend, I saw it.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: It was 30 bucks, so I didn't buy it.
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: But um it talks about Hootie and then it and his personal life and and everything, and it also talks about uh his country career and all this stuff.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: But to hear him talk about it was you made me want to get the book.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: It seemed interesting.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: And one of the things that that you learn in the book, according to this podcast, was we think of Hootie and the Blowfish as squeaky clean, just jocks and you know, good guys and blah blah blah.
- 21:45SPEAKER_07: Apparently there's a lot of drugs.
- 21:47SPEAKER_07: I yeah, I I'm not I'm not surprised.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: And obviously alcohol, but apparently there was a lot of a lot of uh, you know, they got caught up in the lifestyle like everybody does.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: But they hit it pretty well because I mean he was right.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: We th the the guy that was interviewing him, he he's like you know, you think of Hootie and the Blowfish and you think of just a bunch of guys you want to hang out with, you know, and just really squeaky clean guys.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: And that's what I thought.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: That's what we all thought.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what we all thought.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Um and I think they are, really.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, really, I mean, yeah, to a certain extent, too.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they got they got caught up in that in that whole life.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: I'm not surprised.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm not surprised.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: See, I kind of am.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: Um because they were so good at hiding it, I guess.
- 22:27SPEAKER_07: Yeah, well, I mean nobody well, I mean nobody well, it was pre-real internet.
- 22:32SPEAKER_07: This is, you know.
- 22:33SPEAKER_01: There, there I said it.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 22:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:36SPEAKER_07: We should change the name of the podcast.
- 22:37SPEAKER_07: This is this is true.
- 22:38SPEAKER_07: This is the this is the this is true podcast.
- 22:41SPEAKER_07: Everything we say here is not true.
- 22:43unknown: Right.
- 22:44SPEAKER_07: Uh but yeah.
- 22:45SPEAKER_07: But yeah, I mean they're that was pre-inter, you know, social media.
- 22:49SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's true.
- 22:50SPEAKER_07: You know, everything wasn't one, you know, a cell phone camera, you know.
- 22:54SPEAKER_07: So, you know.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: I long for those days.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: I know, it's true.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: I really do.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: I long for those days.
- 23:00SPEAKER_07: Remember when Wildman got that cell phone?
- 23:02SPEAKER_07: He was like the first one of us to get a cell phone.
- 23:04SPEAKER_07: It was that big flip phone.
- 23:05SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 23:06SPEAKER_07: You know, it was looked like he, you know, he's calling in an airstrike in World War II.
- 23:10SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I do.
- 23:11SPEAKER_08: I still remember that.
- 23:13SPEAKER_08: Oh, yeah.
- 23:13SPEAKER_07: We were all like amazed, we were like, wow.
- 23:16SPEAKER_07: I re just I remember hanging out.
- 23:17SPEAKER_07: I remember when we got AOL.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: You've got mail.
- 23:20SPEAKER_07: You've got mail.
- 23:21SPEAKER_07: We got like a thousand CDs from Walmart and like just kept getting free trials.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: Yep, I remember that too.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: I re that that whole, you know, when I when I reflect about uh my bachelor life in that apartment, uh my wife never fails to tell me it was disgusting.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, totally.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: I didn't think so.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: I thought I did it pretty good.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Besides besides the cat litter in the bathroom and stuff like that.
- 23:50SPEAKER_07: Well, that was only a short period.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:52SPEAKER_01: I thought I kept it pretty clean.
- 23:54SPEAKER_07: I mean I Well, it was clean-ish.
- 23:56unknown: Yeah.
- 23:57SPEAKER_07: It's not like food was left around or it was just, you know, it was just, you know.
- 24:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:02SPEAKER_07: But it was a typical old bachelor pad.
- 24:04SPEAKER_07: That's what it was.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: We had some good times.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Heck yeah, we did.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: It was fun.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Um now I'm just kind of reflecting.
- 24:14SPEAKER_09: I m I miss those times.
- 24:15SPEAKER_09: Like, mmm, remember that time.
- 24:18SPEAKER_09: Remember we used to play football on the street?
- 24:19SPEAKER_07: Oh, heck yeah.
- 24:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:20SPEAKER_09: That was a great time.
- 24:21SPEAKER_09: That was a pastime.
- 24:22SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 24:22SPEAKER_07: Of course it was slanted.
- 24:24SPEAKER_07: So it was a little, you know, depending on which side you were going, it was hard.
- 24:27SPEAKER_07: It was either easy or hard.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: And then we did a lot of recording in that apartment.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: Um songwriting.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: That was where everybody hung out.
- 24:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that was that was the hangout.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: It was, it was.
- 24:41SPEAKER_07: Because you always knew when somebody was coming because you could hear the door open from downstairs and they had to walk up, you know, the all the steps and the wooden stairs.
- 24:48SPEAKER_07: It was like it was like living in a haunted house.
- 24:51SPEAKER_07: And you were like, oh, somebody's here, who would it?
- 24:54SPEAKER_07: We always have to wait ten minutes before they get up all the stairs.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: And it was like, oh, hey, it's it's Jefferson.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's chattier, you know.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Whoever it was.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: No, that was cool.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Anyway, uh I digress.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: So what else?
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Uh so we came back and we got back about 3 30 on Sunday.
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we were still talking about that.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: We got back about 3 30 on Sunday.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: She slept all the way back.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, we went to sweet frog.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: We had to go to sweet frog.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Sweet frog is great, man.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: I didn't get anything because I'm trying to cut back on that sugar and stuff.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: And but she she did pretty well for herself.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Um and uh she did get me a brownie.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: She I saw like she's she's going through the line and she's putting all these toppings on, and there's like a a bunch of brownies there, and I said, get that a brownie.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: So she nice.
- 25:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I liked sweet frog.
- 25:47SPEAKER_07: That was pretty good.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've had it before as as well.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: And yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's a neat little idea.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: You know, uh she gets the dairy free, obviously.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: Uh oh yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: But yeah, she slept all the way home.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: How did she sleep?
- 26:03SPEAKER_07: How did she eat sweet frog and then sleep all the way home?
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: She was wrecked, dude.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: I mean, she we got up early.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: Uh we went that's what we did after uh after her game.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: We went to church, you know, on uh in uh Bradley, which is a neighboring town, and saw an old priest friend of ours, uh Father Kyle.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Um and then we went shopping and then we went to sweet frog and then we drove home.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: And uh it was a long I mean it was fun.
- 26:28SPEAKER_07: Did you get the biggie bag?
- 26:30SPEAKER_07: I did.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: No, of course you did.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: I'm good for you.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: I did because I didn't get any lunch.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: She got sweet frog.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: I didn't get any lunch.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: You know, she had uh some snacks and then she had sweet frog, and I I didn't really have anything.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I stopped and I stopped at Old Town and Or and uh Horno.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I guess it is Orno.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_07: And uh you're talking the one about the one down the street from the college, right?
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: Still water.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: It's on Stillwater, yeah.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah, and I did get a biggie bag.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: Which one?
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: I got the chicken sandwich biggie bag.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: So the chicken sandwich is about that big.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, well, that's that's more like a that's more like a white cannibal bright.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: It was like five dollars.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Nice! Yeah, so score! Um, and then let's see, so that was Sunday.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that I mean it w that was my weekend.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: That pretty much took took the whole thing.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Now I hear that.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: What'd you do?
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: You went to work?
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: I went to work.
- 27:28SPEAKER_01: Came home.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: Came home.
- 27:29SPEAKER_07: That's it.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:31SPEAKER_07: Pretty much it.
- 27:32SPEAKER_07: That sums it up.
- 27:34SPEAKER_07: Yay me! I have a I have a I have a very I have a very uh eclectic um social life.
- 27:42SPEAKER_07: Do you?
- 27:43SPEAKER_07: Why are you rolling your eyes?
- 27:44SPEAKER_07: Because I that the it this is the not true part of the podcast.
- 27:49SPEAKER_07: This is not true.
- 27:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah, this is this is not true.
- 27:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I I I'm a loser and I don't do much.
- 27:55SPEAKER_07: So I just watch YouTube videos on whatever.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: I found this Shane turned me onto this guy called the fat electrician.
- 28:03SPEAKER_07: It's freaking hilarious.
- 28:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:05SPEAKER_07: Well, he he's ex-military.
- 28:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:07SPEAKER_07: And he just he makes these videos about different things out of history, like different battles and stuff like that.
- 28:15SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 28:15SPEAKER_07: And then and then he makes other videos about like why Taco Bell is the most gangster fast food chain of all time.
- 28:24SPEAKER_07: Did you know Taco Bell was started by a Marine?
- 28:26SPEAKER_07: No, I didn't.
- 28:27SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 28:28SPEAKER_07: That makes sense.
- 28:29SPEAKER_07: He gets out of World War II.
- 28:30SPEAKER_07: He opens this, like, it was like a it was like a hot he smell he started making, you know, like selling hamburgers and hot dogs right next to Ray Koch, who made started making McDonald's.
- 28:41SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 28:42SPEAKER_07: So he's like, well, screw that.
- 28:43SPEAKER_07: I'm not gonna do that.
- 28:44SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna start making tacos.
- 28:46SPEAKER_07: So he sold 19 cent tacos.
- 28:48SPEAKER_07: That's how he it was it wasn't called Taco Bell then, because the guy's name's like Glenn Bell or John Bell or something like that.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 28:54SPEAKER_07: It was called something else.
- 28:56SPEAKER_07: And uh so he was like, I'm gonna start selling tacos.
- 28:59SPEAKER_07: Nobody knows what a taco is, so I'm gonna start selling them.
- 29:01SPEAKER_07: Well, then take off.
- 29:04SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 29:04SPEAKER_07: And he was talking about all these crazy like uh promotions that Taco Bell used to do.
- 29:08SPEAKER_07: Has Taco Bell been around that long?
- 29:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: I didn't realize that.
- 29:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah, well, I mean, because it started, but it didn't start out as Taco Bell until later.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:16SPEAKER_07: He had like three or four different businesses.
- 29:19SPEAKER_07: He'd build them up and then he'd sell them and start another one.
- 29:21SPEAKER_07: Oh Taco Bell was the last one he did.
- 29:24SPEAKER_07: Interesting.
- 29:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 29:25SPEAKER_07: So it was pretty it was a pretty interesting video the way the history of Taco Bell.
- 29:29SPEAKER_07: Fat electrician.
- 29:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, he's great.
- 29:31SPEAKER_07: He's he's hilarious.
- 29:32SPEAKER_07: He's really funny the way he does, tells stories.
- 29:34SPEAKER_07: He does not take a breath.
- 29:36SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 29:36SPEAKER_07: It's pretty amazing.
- 29:37SPEAKER_07: I'm like, wow, this guy can talk.
- 29:39SPEAKER_07: He's pretty great.
- 29:40SPEAKER_07: So yeah, but yeah, I've been watching a lot of those, and plus I'm watching a lot of Rick Beato and Yeah, just like music videos and react.
- 29:47SPEAKER_07: I've still watched reaction videos once in a while.
- 29:50SPEAKER_07: It just cracks me up.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I watch those too.
- 29:52SPEAKER_07: Because I'm like, how are you a drummer and you never heard of Neil Pear?
- 29:55SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 29:56SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_07: How does that happen?
- 29:59SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 29:59SPEAKER_07: Just different.
- 30:00SPEAKER_07: You call yourself a drummer and you've never heard of Neil Pearr.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: Oh, this is the first time I'm listening to Neil Pear.
- 30:06SPEAKER_07: What freaking rock are you living under?
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: Didn't Drummond there was a female drummer.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: Uh didn't she play a rush song?
- 30:16SPEAKER_07: No, they've done that a couple of times, yeah.
- 30:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 30:18SPEAKER_07: Different people.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: And she she's in a uh modern rock band, like a you know, they they're uh uh the Mars Volta.
- 30:25SPEAKER_07: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: Uh and she'd never heard this.
- 30:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I it was probably like Tom Sawyer or something, wasn't it?
- 30:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean how you've never heard Tom Sawyer.
- 30:34SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 30:34SPEAKER_07: I don't get it, man.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 30:36SPEAKER_01: That's so silly.
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: People are silly.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: Did you see the um where Mike Portnoy came in and turned the tables on the guy?
- 30:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and he made him do a dream theater song.
- 30:45SPEAKER_07: That was Midnight Messiah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_07: I watched it the other day and I was like, whoa, he did pretty good.
- 30:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 30:50SPEAKER_07: I was like, wow, that's pretty impressive.
- 30:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, he knows what he's doing.
- 30:53SPEAKER_07: That album comes out this Friday.
- 30:54SPEAKER_07: I'm can't wait, yeah.
- 30:55SPEAKER_07: Oh, that's cool.
- 30:56SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: Uh oh, uh Beyonce won country album of the year.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: And here's the here's here's how you know What the rig, dude.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: Here's how you know it's rigged that you're you're not being an old fogey.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: So in my chorus today, my high school chorus, who a lot of them love Beyonce.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: Um I brought up the fact that Beyonce won the country album, and they all just were like, that album sucks anyway.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: It's not a good album.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: And she did not deserve to win, you know, that Grammy, and blah blah blah blah blah.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: And so that's how you know it's rigged.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: When even your core audience is like, what?
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:50SPEAKER_01: That album got and s and one of my uh one of my kids is like, well, you know what that album was for?
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: Why she did that album.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: I'm like, no, it's to take back her music, her people's music.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: And well, you know, because that music originally started with black people, you know, from Africa.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: And I said, Country music?
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: And they're like, Yeah.
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: Well, country music is derived from blues music.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's true.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: You know, blues music kind of came first.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:21SPEAKER_01: Country music was built after that.
- 32:24SPEAKER_07: But it was kind of a mix between uh blues and like stuff from like uh Africa.
- 32:33SPEAKER_07: Well, no, not Africa, but you know, the Scots-Irish coming in all their put there.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean it's all a hodgepodge.
- 32:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they were like, you know, it's it's uh it was um uh whatever the name of the album is.
- 32:48SPEAKER_01: Cowboy Carter, I guess.
- 32:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I don't even understand what that means.
- 32:51SPEAKER_01: And it was to take back her, you know, the her people's music.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: And I'm like Well, it sucked.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: I've heard the album not accomplished.
- 33:04SPEAKER_01: I I've heard the album and it's just it's not good.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: No.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: And even even my high school singers are like, it's not a good album.
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: They like Beyonce.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: They like a lot of her stuff.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: It's not a good album, they said.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: But yet it gets a Grammy.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Go figure.
- 33:19SPEAKER_01: It's rigged.
- 33:20SPEAKER_07: Well, that's that's I think that I think that's everybody everybody everybody's like now, everybody's like, it's uh I think everybody it's dawning on everybody that the Grammys, the Emmys, the Oscars Mean mean nothing.
- 33:31SPEAKER_07: Mean nothing.
- 33:32SPEAKER_07: Mean nothing.
- 33:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: I I felt that way about the Grammys a long time ago.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: I used to like watching that stuff just to see the performances and stuff.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: But now it's all pop music.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: There's no other performances on there.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: It's just like bh.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: It's it's pretty, it's and then and then all the controversy of Kanye's wife showing up completely naked, basically.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: Basically, yeah.
- 33:55SPEAKER_01: Uh and and then Will Smith's kids.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: Will Smith's son had like a castle on his hair.
- 34:02SPEAKER_07: I was like, what the frick is wrong with this kid?
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: What did I just see?
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: Um Babylon B did oh, oh, um sources say the um uh castle on um Willow's is it Willow?
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: Smith's uh head at the Grammys, uh just listed for$1.7 million.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: So it it is it's quite a joke.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: It really is.
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: And I yeah, I don't know.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: I think there's a lot of waking up going on all over the place.
- 34:37SPEAKER_07: Well, with more with the more invention of, you know, uh well, more invention, but the more prolific of proliferation of social media.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:48SPEAKER_07: It's harder to hide things now.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's true.
- 34:51SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 34:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 34:52SPEAKER_07: Everything everything becomes pretty apparent after a while.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:57SPEAKER_07: You know, this isn't like the 1960s when nothing was on film, you know.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Here's one thing I want I want to uh so uh alert alert, there's a big political statement coming up.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: Oh um so regardless of which side you're on, I think some of the things that Trump is doing are are are pretty good.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: You know, like um releasing names and opening up classified.
- 35:30SPEAKER_01: Some of that is good, some of it's probably not a good idea.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: But here's one thing I want him to stop saying because I think it's just stupid.
- 35:42SPEAKER_01: And that is because I thought I thought he was joking, but he keeps saying it.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: Like he's serious.
- 35:49SPEAKER_01: He thinks Canada should be the fifty-first state.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's never gonna happen.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: That is stupid.
- 35:56SPEAKER_07: And I don't mean I the the fact that he keeps saying it is stupid.
- 36:01SPEAKER_07: Well, I think he's just trying to I think he I think he's just doing it just to be.
- 36:05SPEAKER_07: Well that's what I thought well that's what I thought at first.
- 36:07SPEAKER_07: I know that he he's not serious.
- 36:09SPEAKER_07: He's just he's just he's just saying it to tick them off.
- 36:12SPEAKER_07: But I don't know.
- 36:13SPEAKER_07: I keep seeing it.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Nah, he's not gonna try to get it.
- 36:15SPEAKER_01: And I and this whole Greenland thing.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Like he's gonna he's gonna buy Greenland or take over Greenland.
- 36:20SPEAKER_07: Well he might as well.
- 36:21SPEAKER_07: There's nothing there.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: But why?
- 36:25SPEAKER_07: Why?
- 36:27SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 36:28SPEAKER_07: Why not?
- 36:29SPEAKER_07: Why do people do anything?
- 36:31SPEAKER_07: I just I don't understand.
- 36:32SPEAKER_07: Why did we buy Alaska?
- 36:35SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but the the whole uh you know, Canada becoming the 51st, he's gotta shut up about that.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: That's just dumb.
- 36:42SPEAKER_07: Nah, I think he's just I think he's just trying to needle uh Trudeau.
- 36:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah because he's such a girly man.
- 36:48SPEAKER_07: So he is such a girl.
- 36:49SPEAKER_07: So I mean, I think I think that I think that's all it is.
- 36:51SPEAKER_07: It's just he's just being the bully, you know?
- 36:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 36:54SPEAKER_07: Just you know, eh, you thugging, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna take over your country.
- 36:59SPEAKER_07: I think that's all it is.
- 37:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 37:00SPEAKER_07: It's like it's like it's just that's just that's just that's just his personality.
- 37:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's stupid.
- 37:04SPEAKER_01: You know, it's stupid.
- 37:05SPEAKER_01: That's one thing that bugs me.
- 37:06SPEAKER_07: Although I did see a Canadian, she put a uh poll on her Twitter, yeah, and it was like should America should Canada become the 51st state and uh do you agree?
- 37:17SPEAKER_07: And those like yes, or uh no, absolutely not.
- 37:20SPEAKER_07: Uh who's gonna help the Americ, you know.
- 37:23SPEAKER_07: Oh, anyway, the most people said that he they would help the Americans invade Canada.
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: They would help the Americans evade Canada?
- 37:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:32SPEAKER_02: So I had to laugh.
- 37:34SPEAKER_02: I thought that was pretty funny.
- 37:35SPEAKER_01: You know what's interesting is because this whole tariff thing uh with Canada, everybody's like, you know, you can't make a 25% tariff on canada always already has a tariff on the United States.
- 37:47SPEAKER_07: Everybody has tariffs on everybody.
- 37:49SPEAKER_07: Several.
- 37:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 37:49SPEAKER_07: It's it's that's that's how it that's how the game is played.
- 37:53SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 37:53SPEAKER_07: You put tariffs on them to get them to do what you want.
- 37:56SPEAKER_07: And then when they do, you take it, you don't do it.
- 37:58SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 37:59SPEAKER_07: That's all it is.
- 38:00SPEAKER_07: It's all that's what people don't understand.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Exactly what happened with just a freaking game.
- 38:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah, that's exactly what happened.
- 38:05SPEAKER_07: It's just that we've been they've been doing tariffs since we became a country.
- 38:10SPEAKER_07: George Washington put tariffs on Britain.
- 38:12SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 38:13SPEAKER_07: I mean, come on.
- 38:14SPEAKER_07: It just that's the how the game is played.
- 38:16SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: This is political.
- 38:17SPEAKER_07: I can't help that you're stupid enough that you don't know this.
- 38:20SPEAKER_07: It's not my fault.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: This is this is the political.
- 38:23SPEAKER_07: I blame the education.
- 38:24SPEAKER_01: This is the political uh we should be whispering.
- 38:26SPEAKER_07: Nah, screw it.
- 38:28SPEAKER_07: Middle finger to that.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 38:30SPEAKER_07: Sound.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Uh off that, and let's listen to some music.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: I forgot that's what we were.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: We do have a couple uh songs here to hear.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: I haven't heard this one yet, uh, so I want to play this one first.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: Um Def Leppard did a cover of Benny King's Stand By Me for uh Fire Aid, the LA Fire Aid.
- 38:51SPEAKER_07: I don't know if you don't know, it's not Benny King.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: It's Ben E.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: King.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: Ben E.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: King.
- 38:55SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Period King.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: So I haven't heard this yet.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: Um, this ought to be interesting.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: So I'm curious as to how much like the original it sounds well, obviously it won't, but how much like Def Leopard it sounds.
- 39:08SPEAKER_01: Um how uh I just let's just play it.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: Let's just play it.
- 39:13SPEAKER_01: This is uh Stand By Me from Def Leopard When the night has come.
- 39:34SPEAKER_07: That doesn't sound like Joe Elliott at all.
- 39:36SPEAKER_03: And the land is dark, and the moon is still there.
- 39:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, that does that will see a little bit.
- 39:47SPEAKER_03: No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: I mean it's good.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 40:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:27SPEAKER_03: Nothing great.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: It says all proceeds from this version will go directly to wildfire victims.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Let's see, the thing is, do you think people are gonna actually gonna buy this?
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: They they a lot of people will buy it just to support fire victims, but do people buy singles?
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Did they download singles?
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 41:00SPEAKER_01: Do they just listen to them on streaming?
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: Like we're doing right now?
- 41:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, exactly.
- 41:13SPEAKER_01: That's Phil Collin, he's doing that with his guitar.
- 41:16SPEAKER_07: Pretty impressive.
- 41:19SPEAKER_07: Like uh, what's his face in the white snake video playing the guitar with the uh with the bow?
- 41:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:24SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: So it's say pretty pretty true to the original, really.
- 41:31SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Even the strings were were pretty true to the original.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: Uh so that was pretty cool.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: And I guess uh you can let's see, does it say where you can I would imagine you can get it on their website, defleppard.com.
- 41:43SPEAKER_01: I'm sure, yeah.
- 41:44SPEAKER_01: I'm assuming.
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: Um The other one kind of came out of nowhere.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Um it's a uh uh contribution or a collaboration, I should say, between the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar, and Joe Bonnamasa.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: Joe.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: So actually it was also with uh Kevin Shirley, who's the producer, Joe Bonamasa's producer.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: So he said, Joe said, Sammy sent us this very rough idea of a blues song.
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: Or this is I'm sorry, this is Kevin Shirley, while Joe and I were in the studio in Greece and we crafted a raw, edgy blues version to go with it.
- 42:19SPEAKER_01: Uh at times it carries a haunting energy, and at others it evokes the spirit of the New Orleans French quarter.
- 42:25SPEAKER_01: Joe was in a particularly gritty mood and played the entire track on an ovation acoustic guitar plugged into an overdriven amplifier, producing a chaotic, heavy, and almost eerie sound.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: We wanted to create a different kind of blues feel to complement the lyrics, and we're thrilled with how well it turned out.
- 42:43SPEAKER_01: Hagar said uh this holy S, the thing came out good.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: The track is a monster.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: Um We'll see, Sammy.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 42:53SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 42:55SPEAKER_01: I've had I have heard this one, and I was not bowled over with it.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: Fortune Teller Blues is what it's called.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: I mean it's it sounds like it's another Joe Bottomaza.
- 44:52SPEAKER_07: It sounds like that's what I was just gonna say.
- 44:53SPEAKER_07: It's a it's a Joe Bottomaza song sung by Tim Air.
- 44:56SPEAKER_07: That's pretty much what it is.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: Who at 76 years old sounds pretty damn good.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, it still sounds great.
- 45:04SPEAKER_07: Amazing.
- 45:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but if you know I mean for a a song that was like thrown together, they got a pretty elaborate music video to go with, right?
- 45:21SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I don't I don't know.
- 45:31SPEAKER_07: I mean it's not the best song I've ever heard, but it's it's it's okay.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Please jump you to then we got Bonamasa's tour dates here.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: He's playing Boston, February 28th.
- 45:41SPEAKER_01: Boston.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: Um so yeah, I mean it's nice to see the the collaboration and Sammy sounds great, and Bona Massa sounds like Bonamasa.
- 45:50SPEAKER_07: I mean it's I mean, you know, it's just you know, two Yeah two masters of their craft going at it.
- 45:55SPEAKER_07: You know, yeah.
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: So there's your new music for this week.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Um I don't know.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: Do we oh no, you don't I don't have it ready.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 46:06SPEAKER_01: I can't believe I didn't uh get this queued up.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: Because I think it's time to uh well, you know.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: Oh look, it's in my Oh the it's right there.
- 46:15SPEAKER_10: It's right.
- 46:18SPEAKER_10: Because it's it's time.
- 46:20SPEAKER_10: Time for what?
- 46:21SPEAKER_10: Time oh I don't know yet.
- 46:23SPEAKER_10: Well no, we haven't got to that part yet.
- 46:26SPEAKER_10: Ah, time for my guy.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: Alright, so actually, wait a minute.
- 46:43SPEAKER_07: Alright, so yes, we I will never get sick of this song, nor will I ever get sick of this album.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: As we as we said at the top of the podcast, we realized that we forgot this week's question.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: We did.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: We were dummies.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: Yes, we were.
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: So uh last I don't even remember what last it was.
- 46:59SPEAKER_01: Oh no, last week's question was how to basically quit your job.
- 47:03SPEAKER_10: Quit your job, yeah.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: So and my uh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: I remember what they were now.
- 47:09SPEAKER_01: So what did our Okay, so our lovely judge.
- 47:14SPEAKER_07: Okay, this is what she said.
- 47:17SPEAKER_07: This week was epic, a really impossible pick.
- 47:19SPEAKER_07: I love Dennis Leary Leary, while some of his stand-up can be a little crass, he's hilarious.
- 47:25SPEAKER_07: I love his coffee-flavored coffee bed.
- 47:27SPEAKER_07: I do too.
- 47:28SPEAKER_07: My little metal heart loves some Pantera, and Nancy Sinatra, these boots are made for walking, is iconic.
- 47:36SPEAKER_07: All three songs are perfect for quitting a job.
- 47:38SPEAKER_07: If I had to pick just one, I'd have to go with Dennis Leary.
- 47:42SPEAKER_07: I feel like that's pretty much the exact level of I don't get paid enough to give any more F's to keep working here, so any so kiss my ass.
- 47:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 47:53SPEAKER_01: I think we all we all agreed with it.
- 47:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, we already did.
- 47:56SPEAKER_07: And she said, uh, I was so enthralled with y'all's cover album.
- 47:59SPEAKER_07: So, which I think is an epic idea.
- 48:01SPEAKER_07: That's what she said.
- 48:02SPEAKER_00: So cool.
- 48:02SPEAKER_07: We have we have her endorsement to uh make that cover album.
- 48:05SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 48:06SPEAKER_07: So so yeah, so you win!
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Yay, yeah you uh alright.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: So we don't have a question for this week, so we're just gonna ask the new question for next week.
- 48:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 48:19SPEAKER_07: So we're just so this is a really uh quick quick version of quick edition.
- 48:24SPEAKER_07: Quick edition of this is like the speed round.
- 48:28SPEAKER_07: Okay, that was yeah, that was the one from last time.
- 48:31SPEAKER_07: Okay, let me find a let me find a questionnaire.
- 48:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: You can you can be picky if you want.
- 48:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that one's okay, but I don't know.
- 48:47SPEAKER_07: The premise was a little weird.
- 48:53SPEAKER_07: I take it this one's better.
- 48:54SPEAKER_07: This one's funny.
- 48:56SPEAKER_07: Okay, so this is the question for next week.
- 48:59SPEAKER_07: You only get one make out song for the rest of your life.
- 49:03SPEAKER_07: What is it?
- 49:04SPEAKER_07: Oh my.
- 49:10SPEAKER_02: That's hilarious.
- 49:11SPEAKER_01: One make out song for the rest of your life.
- 49:17SPEAKER_09: Come and knock on our door.
- 49:19SPEAKER_09: Come and knock on our door.
- 49:20SPEAKER_09: We've been waiting for you.
- 49:22SPEAKER_09: We've been waiting for you.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: The love that is hers and hers and his three's companies.
- 49:27SPEAKER_00: I'm just kidding.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: Make out song.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: Make out song.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: Well for me to make an accurate, you probably I probably should make out.
- 49:38SPEAKER_08: Yeah, I'm out of here.
- 49:40SPEAKER_08: I've been I've been married 28 years.
- 49:41SPEAKER_08: We don't make out anymore.
- 49:43SPEAKER_08: Don't look at me.
- 49:45SPEAKER_08: I'm not playing your game.
- 49:47SPEAKER_08: Why you wanna make out?
- 49:48SPEAKER_08: No.
- 49:48SPEAKER_08: Okay.
- 49:49SPEAKER_08: Absolutely not.
- 49:50SPEAKER_07: Absolutely not.
- 49:52SPEAKER_09: Good, good, good.
- 49:53SPEAKER_09: Because I don't want to either.
- 49:55SPEAKER_09: Good.
- 49:55SPEAKER_09: Good.
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 49:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, we are bringing back uh Wall of Tunes this week, so uh, we're gonna take a break.
- 50:03SPEAKER_01: And when we come back, we're not taking a break.
- 50:06SPEAKER_09: Here we are.
- 50:06SPEAKER_09: No, we're not! I said we're not.

- 51:36SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 51:37SPEAKER_01: Get started.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Uh and Doug is gonna read from A Hard Day's Right by Steve.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: Steve Turner.
- 51:44SPEAKER_07: Steve.
- 51:45SPEAKER_07: Steve.
- 51:47SPEAKER_07: Sorry, Blanchard children.
- 51:50SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 51:52SPEAKER_07: This week's song is There's a Place from the Please Please Me album.
- 51:57SPEAKER_07: Uh just as misery indicated the feelings of isolation and rejection, which would go which would become a major preoccupation in John's songs.
- 52:06SPEAKER_07: So There's a Place introduced what was to become a recurring theme of finding comfort in his thoughts, dreams, and memories.
- 52:14SPEAKER_07: In There's a Place, John deals with his life's sorrow by retreating into the safety of his inner thoughts and in a more sophisticated way.
- 52:21SPEAKER_07: This is what would characterize later songs such as Strawberry Fields Forever, Girl, In My Life, Rain, I'm Only Sleeping, Tomorrow Never Knows, and so many others.
- 52:30SPEAKER_07: The usual Lennon thing, he would comment with reference to There's a Place.
- 52:35SPEAKER_07: It's all in your mind.
- 52:38SPEAKER_07: He was a combination of introversion and extroversion, says Thelma.
- 52:42SPEAKER_09: Whoa! That's so sorry.
- 52:43SPEAKER_07: That's really loud.
- 52:44SPEAKER_07: That's so sorry.
- 52:50SPEAKER_07: Go ahead.
- 52:51SPEAKER_07: He was a combination of introversion and extroversion, says Thelma McGow, who as Thelma Pickles dated John while they were both at Liverpool School of Art.
- 53:00SPEAKER_07: Quote, he appeared very extrovert and yet was all front.
- 53:04SPEAKER_07: He was actually very deep, but he'd keep that pretty well hidden until you were on the until you were on your own with him, unquote.
- 53:13SPEAKER_07: Although John spoke as though the song was entirely his, Paul has since claimed that the original idea for it came to front came from him.
- 53:21SPEAKER_07: The title derived from the West Side Story song, There's a Place for Us, which he had a song too.
- 53:28SPEAKER_07: Which he had in his Fourthland Road record collection.
- 53:33SPEAKER_07: That must be where he lived.
- 53:36SPEAKER_07: Musically, John admitted that There's a Place was his attempt at a sort of Motown Black thing, referring to the hot news sound emerging emerging from Detroit on Barry Gordy's fledging fledgling independent label.
- 53:50SPEAKER_07: Motown hits were mostly written by production line writers and performed by groups trained in the label's own school.
- 53:56SPEAKER_07: It was dance music driven by inventive bass lines, gospel style splashes of tambourine and vocal harmonies.
- 54:04SPEAKER_07: AKA The Funk Brothers.
- 54:07SPEAKER_07: The Beatles were to play a crucial role in popularizing the label initially by recording Motown songs such as Please Mr.
- 54:15SPEAKER_07: Postman, You've Really Got a Hold on Me, and Money, and later by dropping the names of new Motown artists and records in interviews.
- 54:23SPEAKER_07: In 1964, Barry Gordy said, quote, it helped when we had several songs of ours recorded by the Beatles.
- 54:29SPEAKER_07: I met them and found out that they were great fans of Motown and had been studying Motown music, and they went on to become some of the greatest songwriters in history.
- 54:38SPEAKER_07: We were absolutely delighted.
- 54:40SPEAKER_07: Unquote.
- 54:40SPEAKER_07: Of course you would be.
- 54:41SPEAKER_07: Of course you would be, right?
- 54:42SPEAKER_07: Who wouldn't be?
- 54:43SPEAKER_07: Exactly, man.
- 54:45SPEAKER_01: I love that song.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: It's a great song.
- 54:46SPEAKER_01: And that uh that song from West Side Story, There's a Place for Us.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: Great song.
- 54:49SPEAKER_01: Have you ever heard that song?
- 54:50SPEAKER_07: I've m I've never seen West Side Story.
- 54:53SPEAKER_07: I don't know any of this.
- 54:54SPEAKER_01: I've never seen West Side's Story either, but I know that song.
- 54:56SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 54:56SPEAKER_01: Because I think, if I'm not mistaken, Phil Collins covered it.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: Let me let me follow that.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, here we go.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: That rabbit hole.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: Where's going down this rabbit hole?
- 55:07SPEAKER_01: Oh look! There's Phil Collins.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, you know what I'm thinking of?
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: I'm thinking of a different song.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 55:19SPEAKER_09: Maybe maybe I'm not.
- 55:20SPEAKER_09: Maybe I'm not.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: Let's see if this is the same.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: That's a commercial.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: Let's see if this is the same song.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: Maybe a uh completely different song.
- 55:33SPEAKER_07: Is that Renee Zellwagger one?
- 55:35SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's a new Bridget Jones movie.
- 55:37SPEAKER_07: What?
- 55:38SPEAKER_07: Again?
- 55:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:39SPEAKER_01: Why don't I don't know yet.
- 55:50SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's the same song.
- 56:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's not the same song.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: Let's do this one.
- 56:32SPEAKER_01: Uh see.
- 56:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's what he did.
- 56:35SPEAKER_09: No!
- 56:37SPEAKER_01: They just called it something different.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: He did do a cover of this.
- 56:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the song is not called There's a Place for Us.
- 56:51SPEAKER_01: It's called Somewhere.
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: So this is a cover from the West of a West Side Story song.
- 57:03SPEAKER_07: But it's not It's Phil Call.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: It's still called.
- 57:06SPEAKER_07: No, but it's not the song?
- 57:07SPEAKER_07: Or I'm very confused.
- 57:09SPEAKER_07: Why did he call it something different then?
- 57:21SPEAKER_01: Maybe he was confused.
- 57:30SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's called There's a Place for us in in the musical.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: And when they covered it, they changed the name of it to somewhere.
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 57:40SPEAKER_01: It makes no sense.
- 57:53SPEAKER_07: Um that's what we do here.
- 57:55SPEAKER_07: I mean we we we we we take different avenues and we we discover new things.
- 58:00SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 58:00SPEAKER_07: It's great.
- 58:01SPEAKER_07: I mean that be it keeps the audience, all tens of them, on their edge of their seat.
- 58:07SPEAKER_07: They're always like, where are they gonna go now?
- 58:09SPEAKER_07: What are they what are they gonna do?
- 58:10SPEAKER_01: Or on the edge of the bridge.
- 58:15SPEAKER_07: Drive into the apartment.
- 58:18SPEAKER_01: Um alright, so I have a CD.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: I think we probably have done this artist before.
- 58:24SPEAKER_01: Oh probably.
- 58:25SPEAKER_01: We may have done this artist recently too, but yeah, I don't care anymore.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: Um so let the guessing begin.
- 58:32SPEAKER_07: Is it a man?
- 58:33SPEAKER_07: No.
- 58:34SPEAKER_07: Solo?
- 58:35SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 58:37SPEAKER_07: Man, yes.
- 58:38SPEAKER_07: Solomon.
- 58:39SPEAKER_07: Solomon.
- 58:40SPEAKER_07: Solomon.
- 58:41SPEAKER_07: Sounds like something out of Lord of the Rings.
- 58:43SPEAKER_07: Solomon.
- 58:44SPEAKER_07: Solomon.
- 58:45SPEAKER_07: Solomon the Grey.
- 59:28SPEAKER_09: I thought we did.
- 59:29SPEAKER_09: Did we do this album?
- 59:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think we did.
- 59:33SPEAKER_09: We did?
- 59:35SPEAKER_01: Alright, so here's what I'm gonna do.
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna get a different Brian Adams album.
- 59:40SPEAKER_01: I won't switch the artist, I'll just switch the album.
- 59:43SPEAKER_09: So this one is I mean, he's always been popular, right?
- 59:58SPEAKER_01: But I don't think this one was a huge commercial.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: This is uh an album called On a Day Like Today.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_07: I have no idea what that one is.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, so this has some of my favorite Brian Adams songs on it, believe it or not.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: Um and I don't know that unless you're a Brian Adams fan, like a big Brian Adams fan.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_07: This is the fourth time we've done Brian Adams.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_07: Is it really?
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_07: Just in case you were wondering.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_07: If you're giving me stragg at home.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_07: Maybe we've already done this album too, then.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_07: We probably remember, I don't remember talking about this album because I've never heard of this album.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't know.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_01: This one has a duet with uh one of the Spice Girls.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_01: I definitely don't know about that.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_07: No?
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_07: Why why why would you do that to yourself?
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_01: Why not?
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: Um, so Brian Adams lyrically is not, you know, one of the most fantastic writers.
- 1:00:55SPEAKER_01: I mean I mean it's it's good stuff.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: I mean it's it's slice of life stuff, it's you know, but it's a lot of its cliche.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_01: But boy the guy knows how to write a hook.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_01: You know, and a catchy tune.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_01: Um and so this this album on a day like today, let's see what this came out.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_01: This came out in 1998.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: Yep, 1998.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_01: Um, and this has two of my favorite Brian Adams songs.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: Um and this is one of them.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_04: Clue number one was when you knocked on my door.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_04: Clue number two was the look that you wore, and that's when I knew it was a pretty good sign.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_04: Something was wrong up on cloud number nine.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_04: Well, come down.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: Sorry, that's pop genius.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_01: The melody it is, but it sounds like something else.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_01: You mean something else sounds like this?
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: No, this sounds like something else.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: No, what I'm saying is I think this the song that you're thinking of probably came after this.
- 1:02:41SPEAKER_07: Oh, probably, but it it definitely sounds like another song.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_01: Just the chord changes and the melody.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_01: It's such a hook.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_07: No, there's no denying the hook, that's for sure.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_07: I don't like the way he's singing it though.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: Lower, you mean?
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_07: That sounds like he's like trying not to be Brian Adams.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_01: Well, it was 998, so and he was taking a lot of flack still for everything I do, I do it for you.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_07: Well, he should, because it was terrible.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_07: Well, you know, it was like, yes, we had to suffer through the movie and the song.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_07: We I mean, we went to war just to get away from that movie and the song.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_01: You know, you know what's sad?
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_00: What I really like that movie.
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_07: I I did not.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_07: I watched it once and that was enough.
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_07: I was like, Kevin Costner should never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever try to be English.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_07: Well, he didn't.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_07: That's the thing.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_07: I mean, I mean, even when you get made fun of in a Mel Brooks movie, right?
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_07: You know, that's that's the signal to stop.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_07: Stop, Kevin, stop.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_07: Um but then he went and made the bodyguard, and the bodyguard was great.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it was so.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_01: Alright, so my other uh one of my other favorite Brian Adams songs is this one, and it is the duet with the Mel B.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: No, Mel Scary Spice?
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_01: Mel C.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_01: Mel the Sporty Spice.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: Oh, Sporty Spice.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_01: Uh, and this is called When You're Gone.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_01: Just as a songwriter, I love the melodies.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_04: I've been wandering around the house all night.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_00: But that sounds more like Brian Adams.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_00: I think.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_07: But it he still sounds like he's trying to not sing like Brian Adams to me.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_07: I don't know why.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_01: So so explain to me what what I don't know, I can't explain it to you.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_07: It's like Brian Adams trying not to be Brian Adams by just Brian Adams.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_07: Is he just singing it sounds like he's even more nasally than usual?
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_07: In a lower register?
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_07: No, it's just like it's like I don't know, he's trying to parade it himself or something, maybe he's trying to like weird owl himself.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_00: Here's a here's another great one off this album that I like.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_00: This is called Fearless.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_00: Again, I'm a sucker for catchy, like like pop hooks.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_07: Okay, this sounds more like Brian Adams to me.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_04: What you gonna do?
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_04: What do you have to hell you feel?
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_07: What's with all the swerving, Brian?
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_07: That's the second song in a row, dude.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_01: Lyrically it's very cliche.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, but uh it's a great hook.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_01: It is a great hook.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_07: But this this this actually sounds like Brian Adams trying to sound like himself to me.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_07: I guess I can I can hear that.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_07: I can hear what you're talking about.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I I don't know what the other two were.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_07: I don't know what he was doing, but it was just it just didn't sound it didn't sound like Brian Adams.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_00: Uh those are my three favorite of this album.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's other songs that are that are good too.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_07: They're more our songs in this album, what?
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_07: More than three?
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_07: Uh baby was so strong.
- 1:07:28unknown: Going on so long.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_01: I'll just give you a snippet of this one.
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_01: This sounds like a Brian Adams title.
- 1:07:40SPEAKER_01: It's called Come On, Come On Come On.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_07: You can hear it right there.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_07: Come on, come on, come on, come on.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_07: It's like I'm gonna do Bill Weathers.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: Let's see if he sounds like Brian Adams.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll see.
- 1:08:00SPEAKER_07: We'll see.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_07: I'll be the judge of this.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_04: Come on, come on.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_00: We're gonna make it Brian Adams is it's that register, I think.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe it doesn't.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_04: Come on, come on, come on.
- 1:08:19SPEAKER_01: Now he has made some stinker albums.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_01: Come on! That Brian Adams! Come on, come on, come on.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: I'm a big Brian Adams fan, obviously, but uh some of the um latest albums that he's made.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_01: Uh let's see if I can find it.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_01: The one that he did with um with uh this one.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: Um it's with Jeff Lynn.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_01: Um you can tell it's it's how do you make a bad album with Jeff Lynn?
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_09: Well, it's a Jeff Lynn album with Brian Adams singing.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_01: It's really not uh If I'm gonna go down.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_01: Actually, that one was alright.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, I just switched artists.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: Um It was uh which one was it?
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_01: Maybe it was even a different oh no, oh no, it is this one, I think.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_01: No, it's not.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_01: Oh maybe it is.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_07: This sounds like Willberries, traveling wheelberries.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's that's what it was.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_01: This one.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: Actually, and another one too.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_07: And George Harrison's.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_01: Listen to those drums.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_01: Those are Jeff Lynn drums.
- 1:10:01SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_01: You know, he has a signature sound.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_01: It's the same, it's the same as like when he teamed up with Tom Petty for a lot of stuff.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_01: Same drum sound.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:14SPEAKER_01: This one.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is the one.
- 1:10:17SPEAKER_01: I was like, this is Jeff Lynn.
- 1:10:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah, this is definitely not Brian Adams.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_07: Doesn't even sound like it.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah, this is like the Willberries.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_07: I mean, Brian Adams is just this is Brian Adams singing Jeff Lynn songs in the style of the traveling wheelberries.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_07: He's entitled, right?
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_07: I get it, man.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_01: He's, you know, branching out and just doing whatever he wants to do, so I can't really fault him, but this is from an album called Get Up back in 2015.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_01: Uh and it's not, I'm not saying it's bad.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_01: No, it's not great.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_01: I will say that.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_01: I've got his uh one of his latest albums.
- 1:11:07SPEAKER_01: This one.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_07: TransCanada won.
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_07: Tell us where you're from, Brian, without telling us where you're from.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_01: This one came out in 2002, if this is a title cut for So Happy It Hurt.
- 1:11:39SPEAKER_01: And what's the album swearing?
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, he's got an alb a song on here called Kick Ass.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_01: Then the next one down is I Ain't Worth S Without You.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_01: What is wrong?
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_01: What is wrong with you, Brian?
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_04: Crazy How Steel! I'm so happy it hurts.
- 1:11:57SPEAKER_07: We're trying to keep things PG here, alright?
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_00: Um, I like I like Brian Adams.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_00: I really do.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_07: Uh just because I like the hit, so I'm just not I'm not that big into him.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_07: You know, like no, I get it.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_07: You know, I get it.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_01: That's just that's just uh and I mentioned to you that I when I was down at Bull Moose, I I bought a uh Sting album.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_01: I don't know why, but I've been getting back into Sting lately.
- 1:12:21SPEAKER_01: Uh I always thought Sting Sting comes across to me as very pretentious.
- 1:12:26SPEAKER_01: No, not not Gordon.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_01: But Gordon Sumner.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_01: You know, uh I did see um Stuart Copeland was there was a reel with Stuart Copeland in it, and he said he was talking about how he never listened to the words of police songs.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_01: He just played the drums.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: And and you know, kind of and the title of the song, and blah blah blah.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_01: That's that's great.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_01: Well, it wasn't until he had to go back and rework the songs for his orchestral album, because Stuart Copeland put out a an orchestral thing with with drums and everything, and and so he had to like pay attention to the lyrics, and he said, and he's pretty genius.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:13:06SPEAKER_01: He says, Don't tell him I said that.
- 1:13:08SPEAKER_07: No, you don't want to, you know, exactly.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_07: But uh yeah, no, he I mean, you know, he's he's talented.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_01: And then I and then I so so what I did the other day was um, you know, so when I get up in the morning and I get ready for work, I put my phone on.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm usually it's Pandora or something.
- 1:13:27SPEAKER_01: So I put it I put it on I don't want to say this, but I was listening to Spotify.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_01: I was listening to Sting on Spotify.
- 1:13:35SPEAKER_01: I forgot how many songs I knew and liked from Sting.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:13:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like solo stuff.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_01: Um and I rem and I was taken back.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_01: Actually, I was listening to it this morning.
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_01: Uh again, we're off on a another another rabbit hole.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_01: Um and that song, We'll Be Together.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_01: Do you know that song?
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_01: Came on.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_01: Do you remember the video for that song?
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_01: I was in love with one of the dancers in that video.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_01: Uh what do you look like?
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_01: Uh good one.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: Good one.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_01: Uh I'll show you what it looked like.
- 1:14:11SPEAKER_01: No, I'm just kidding.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_07: Um You can't and you can't even Why is happy days on two I beat it?
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_07: I mean it.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_01: Okay, so so there's this this one girl in this.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_07: That is a terrible haircut.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_01: I know it was.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_01: Holy cow.
- 1:14:33SPEAKER_01: It was yeah.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_01: Uh and I and the song is good.
- 1:14:37SPEAKER_01: I like this song.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_01: We'll be together.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_01: It was a hit form.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_01: But there's this one blonde dancer in this video that I was in love with.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_01: Because I let's see, when did this come out?
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_01: 87.
- 1:14:51SPEAKER_01: So I was in seventh grade.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_01: Yep, that was alright.
- 1:15:02SPEAKER_00: So not those guys.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_01: Must have that guy's blood.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:15:10SPEAKER_01: And I think at one time I actually this was before the internet, right?
- 1:15:15SPEAKER_08: 87?
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_08: Nah, we were right dead in the middle of an internet.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_01: I think as I when when I got older and we had the internet, I think one day I looked it up.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_01: And I don't remember what I found about her.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_01: She disappeared or something, or like literally?
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_01: No, no.
- 1:15:34SPEAKER_01: But like she after this video, she did a few other things and then went and lived a quiet life somewhere.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_01: That's her.
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_00: Hold on, right there.
- 1:15:47SPEAKER_00: I was in love with that girl.
- 1:15:51SPEAKER_01: As any seventh grader would be.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course, yeah.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_01: Come on, hold on.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_01: Let me get the good part.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_01: That's his wife.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_07: That's Mr.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_07: Sting.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_01: That's Mr.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_01: Sting.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: Is he drunk?
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_01: He's supposed to do it.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's drunk, yeah.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_01: But he's playing two characters too.
- 1:16:12SPEAKER_07: Well, that one's more like how he was when he was a teacher, I bet.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_07: Right, yeah.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_07: You know?
- 1:16:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:16:19SPEAKER_07: Oh, hey Gordon, how you doing?
- 1:16:22SPEAKER_07: It's good to see you.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_07: Oh, drunk guy.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_07: It's like watching uh Jackie Chan do drunken boxing.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_01: Come on.
- 1:16:42SPEAKER_01: It's just one dance sequence.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_01: That's his word.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_01: Come on, come on.
- 1:16:56SPEAKER_01: Where is it?
- 1:16:58SPEAKER_07: Just go forward to it.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_07: Man, why just smacked him?
- 1:17:03SPEAKER_07: Oh no.
- 1:17:04SPEAKER_07: Oh! Oh, that's a terrible punch, man.
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_07: Oh, wait, oh you just got stuck.
- 1:17:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, here we go.
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_01: It's just it's just dan stick with dan stick with the thing.
- 1:17:31SPEAKER_01: I noticed in the song.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_01: Brings in another sting song.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_01: Did you notice that?
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_01: It's a different sting song.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:17:53SPEAKER_07: I guess I guess if you're gonna rip anybody off, might as well rip yourself off.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_01: Free free, set them free.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:17:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:18:00SPEAKER_01: There she is.
- 1:18:09SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 1:18:11SPEAKER_01: I think I looked it up one day and I don't remember what my results were.
- 1:18:15SPEAKER_01: But yeah.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_01: Again, another rabbit hole.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_01: That's what we do here.
- 1:18:20SPEAKER_01: My wife's gonna listen to this podcast.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_01: It's like, really?
- 1:18:22SPEAKER_01: You like the blonde and the stink video?
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_05: Yes, I did.
- 1:18:27SPEAKER_08: I was in seventh grade.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_08: We like weird stuff.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_08: And still do.
- 1:18:32SPEAKER_08: Yes.
- 1:18:33SPEAKER_08: We're proud of it.
- 1:18:34SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 1:18:38SPEAKER_09: That's it.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_09: What episode is this?
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_09: 229.
- 1:18:43SPEAKER_07: It is.
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_07: 229.
- 1:18:45SPEAKER_07: Very good.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_07: I remember it.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_07: You're paying attention.
- 1:18:47SPEAKER_07: I wrote it down, that's why.
- 1:18:50SPEAKER_10: You did it?
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_10: No.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_07: I just remembered it.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_07: I don't know why.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_07: Alright, because I made the comment earlier.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_07: I was like, wow, we've been doing it for that long.
- 1:18:58SPEAKER_07: So our uh our fifth year anniversary is coming up here in a gun now.
- 1:19:02SPEAKER_01: That's crazy, isn't it?
- 1:19:03SPEAKER_01: It's crazy, man.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_01: Tell you what.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_01: We've been going five years and we still only have 20 listeners.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_07: I know.
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_07: You think we'd be up to at least 25 by now.
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_07: Gee, with.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_07: What are we doing wrong?
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_07: So Oh, I know.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_07: We suck.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_02: This is a terrible podcast.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_02: That's what it is.
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_01: So the album of the week is Brian Adams on a day like today.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_01: Um, and that's it.
- 1:19:30SPEAKER_01: That's it for episode 229.
- 1:19:32SPEAKER_01: Dun you and uh until next week.
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_01: We are doing it next week, right?
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_01: Nothing's coming up that we're uh no, we're we're doing it next week.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_08: No, yeah, we'll be here.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_08: Right?
- 1:19:45SPEAKER_07: Right, yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_07: I was trying to think what was going on next week, but uh really nothing because uh Valentine's Day is next Friday.
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_07: We're playing At the Pig.
- 1:19:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we are.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_01: Wyatt is playing at the Pig this Friday.
- 1:20:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, Wyatt and uh and uh and uh Roy.
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_01: I guess I didn't realize he was uh getting away with Roy and stuff.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, they're dirtbag Jenkins and Dusk Panzers.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_01: I'd like to go, I you know, but we're playing.
- 1:20:14SPEAKER_07: So yeah, we're uh we're we're we're busy.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're busy.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_01: We're busy that night.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_01: It's always it's always the case.
- 1:20:21SPEAKER_01: You know, whenever someone that we want to see is playing, we're playing.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_07: It uh it does seem that way, but you know, it's it's good to be in demand.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_07: No, it's true.
- 1:20:30SPEAKER_01: You know, yeah, no no, you won't get a complaint from me except that sometimes I want to see my friends play.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_07: Sometimes sometimes I don't want to play.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_07: Sometimes I just want to sit back and go, these guys are good.
- 1:20:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right?
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_01: We should do this.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_01: Do you find yourself uh I find myself every day.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_01: I know I'm trying to I'm looking around, I'm like, there I am! Look at me! I'm so good looking.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_01: I've tried to end the podcast, but do you find yourself like when you go of course you probably don't do very often because we're always playing.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_01: But when you go see another band, do you like?
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_07: Yes, I do.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_01: No, do you want to get up and play with them?
- 1:21:07SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_01: No, no, you don't have that desire?
- 1:21:09SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, see I do.
- 1:21:11SPEAKER_07: I don't, I, I, I don't want to because I wouldn't want them to do it with me.
- 1:21:15SPEAKER_01: No, no, I no, I'm not saying you would act on it.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_07: No, I'm just saying, but yeah, I don't I don't I don't, you know, everybody has their own thing.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_01: I like I like what we do.
- 1:21:24SPEAKER_01: No, I do too.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_01: But I mean, does it make you want to play?
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_01: I guess it's my case.
- 1:21:28SPEAKER_07: Uh sometimes.
- 1:21:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_07: Sometimes.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_07: But I don't I don't I don't want to be like, you know, I don't want to be one of those people that like intrudes on somebody else's.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_07: That's not what I'm saying.
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 1:21:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's not what I'm saying.
- 1:21:40SPEAKER_01: So like l not not like when you go see someone, you're like, oh boys, I hope they asked me to get up on stage.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_01: Not like that.
- 1:21:47SPEAKER_01: I mean like when you go to see them, does it make you want to like does it make you put your mind in a place where it's like, oh, I really want to play right now.
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_01: I really want to play right now.
- 1:22:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:22:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it depends on how it's you know how my how I'm perceiving it.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:22:07SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 1:22:08SPEAKER_01: So Yeah, because I you know, we've been in uh you know, lots of bands actually, and it it's rare, unless it's uh the right person, it's rare that we see someone in the crowd and say, hey, come up and do a song.
- 1:22:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, very rare.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_01: Uh because we have our way of doing things.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_07: And we you know Well, we've had tons of people trying to come up and sing a song.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_07: No.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_01: Can I play your drums?
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_07: No.
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_07: Can I can I punch you in the face?
- 1:22:35SPEAKER_01: He would probably say no.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_07: Well then that's the answer.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you don't play other people's instruments, just give them out and what's wrong with you.
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_07: I mean, just yeah.
- 1:22:45SPEAKER_07: I just I don't understand people sometimes.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_01: You're right though.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_01: The older I get, the more I just want to know the people.
- 1:22:58SPEAKER_07: I mean I'm telling you, uh, it's gonna be great.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_07: Because I'm just gonna hate everybody and everything.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_07: It's gonna be awesome that everybody loves you.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_07: No, I know, I don't I don't mean like people that I like, I mean other people.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_08: You already do that, don't you?
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_07: No, I don't hate them, I just don't want them around me or talk to me or anything.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_07: I don't hate you.
- 1:23:27SPEAKER_07: I don't hate you, just go away.
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_08: Just go away.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_08: Don't go away, man.
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_08: Just go away.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_07: No, I just I just want, you know, I'm I'm not a small talk person.
- 1:23:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, no, no, yeah.
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_01: I mean sometimes I have to be.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_07: You know, yeah, but I I I I j I mean, when I like when I interact with somebody, like especially at work, you know, like today I heard the same thing 87 times.
- 1:23:51SPEAKER_07: Well, it's cold out.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 1:23:53SPEAKER_07: I have never been outside ever! But I you know, but I understand what they're doing.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_07: They're trying to they're trying to fill the space between two people with meaningless chatter.
- 1:24:03SPEAKER_08: Right.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_07: I get it.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:24:05SPEAKER_07: I'm not gonna play along.
- 1:24:07SPEAKER_07: I'm not gonna be like, oh yeah, it's cold out.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_07: No, I just completely just ignore them and continue on with what we're doing.
- 1:24:14SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:24:15SPEAKER_07: I don't do it to other people.
- 1:24:16SPEAKER_07: Like when I go to a store, I'm like, hey, how you doing?
- 1:24:20SPEAKER_07: Okay, here you go.
- 1:24:21SPEAKER_07: And okay, thank you very much.
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_07: Have a great day.
- 1:24:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:24:24SPEAKER_07: I don't I don't try to make small, I don't try to bring up a subject with people because I don't know that person.
- 1:24:32SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:24:32SPEAKER_07: I don't want to I'm all I just want to do my do the business, do the transaction.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_07: I get that.
- 1:24:39SPEAKER_07: And go and go away and go on my happy little way back to wherever or whatever I'm doing.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_07: You know, I and I appreciate what they're doing because I do the same thing.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_07: You know, that's why I'm never rude to people that wait on me or convenience store people or, you know, retail people.
- 1:24:58SPEAKER_07: I'm never rude to them because I understand what it's like when people are rude to you when you do that kind of thing.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_07: So I I I go out of my way to be nice to those people.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_07: That's why when I retire, I'm not going to do that anymore.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_07: Right, of course.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_07: I'm just, I'm just, you know, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be doing the same thing.
- 1:25:23SPEAKER_07: I just don't want anybody to talk to me anymore.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_07: Because I'm done.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_07: I'm done talking.
- 1:25:30SPEAKER_07: I'm done, I'm done trying to- are you done talking?
- 1:25:33SPEAKER_07: No, I'm gonna keep going, man.
- 1:25:35SPEAKER_07: I'm just done.
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_07: I'm I'm just trying to explain my my my pathetic life.
- 1:25:41SPEAKER_07: This is this is what I've this is what I've come to.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_07: This is this is where I am in my life.
- 1:25:47SPEAKER_01: I hope you know that you don't have a pathetic life.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_07: I do have a pathetic life.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_07: I totally do.
- 1:25:52SPEAKER_07: You know, I'm 52 years old.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah I can't get a woman to go out with me.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_07: I can't I can't entice a woman to go out with me by buying them food.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_07: They're like, no, I'd rather starve.
- 1:26:05SPEAKER_07: No, you know, no, no, I don't think so.
- 1:26:08SPEAKER_07: Nice try, Doug.
- 1:26:09SPEAKER_07: But like, I'll buy you, I'll buy you a hamburger.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're buying the wrong food.
- 1:26:18SPEAKER_07: Women don't like cheeseburgers?
- 1:26:20SPEAKER_07: What?
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_08: That's the name of the podcast.
- 1:26:26SPEAKER_08: Women don't like cheeseburgers.
- 1:26:27SPEAKER_08: Women don't like cheeseburgers.
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_01: We should, we should, we should just, every from now on, every statement, every every podcast should be a statement, and then this is true.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_01: Women don't like cheeseburgers.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_01: This is true.
- 1:26:46SPEAKER_09: That's it.
- 1:26:47SPEAKER_09: Oh boy.
- 1:26:50SPEAKER_09: Oh my goodness.
- 1:26:52SPEAKER_09: How do you know where I was going with that?
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_09: I don't know.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_07: I lost track.
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_07: But it was a fun ride.
- 1:26:56SPEAKER_08: It was a fun ride.
- 1:26:58SPEAKER_07: It's kind of like it's kind of like when you're driving along and you hit black ice and you start spinning around, and then you end up back on the road and you're like, woo! Oh.
- 1:27:06SPEAKER_07: That's just what that conversation was.
- 1:27:08SPEAKER_07: We were on black ice and we were spinning out of control, and now we're back on the road going straight.
- 1:27:13SPEAKER_07: And now I'm crying.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:27:15SPEAKER_07: Because I don't know where I was going.
- 1:27:17SPEAKER_02: I I had a point, I think.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_07: What was my point?
- 1:27:20unknown: I don't know.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_01: Oh, what are you even talking about?
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_01: I said, I said the older I get, the more I don't want a people.
- 1:27:28SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:28SPEAKER_01: That's where it was.
- 1:27:29SPEAKER_07: Then I then I just kind of went off.
- 1:27:31SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:27:31SPEAKER_07: I kind of hijacked the whole conversation.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:27:33SPEAKER_07: But it was good.
- 1:27:35SPEAKER_07: It was fun.
- 1:27:36SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_01: Alright.
- 1:27:38SPEAKER_01: So we are going to end it now.
- 1:27:41SPEAKER_01: That's episode 229.
