- 0:27Speaker 2: were gone for two weeks. I didn't even notice. I
- 0:33Speaker 2: just made a thirty seven hundred mile car trip. We
- 0:35Speaker 2: need to wash up? Whoa never leave again?
- 0:41Speaker 3: A four finger discount dude.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Welcome two to four finger Discount. We're back this week
- 1:03Speaker 1: with a season twenty review. It's episode two of season twenty.
- 1:06Speaker 4: It is last for a razin. I'm Dan and I
- 1:09Speaker 4: am Guy. Yes, aka the episode where I'd say a
- 1:13Speaker 4: few of the Simpsons execs and Fox execs and anyone
- 1:15Speaker 4: else lucky enough to be involved gets a free Verizon
- 1:19Speaker 4: cell phone plan.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I watched this one and I went, we now officially
- 1:23Speaker 1: need to start doing merch. What a lord right, It's
- 1:26Speaker 1: gonna be some of them. Oh, Yeah, another one is
- 1:28Speaker 1: a bunch of stuff is happening. This episode was just
- 1:30Speaker 1: a bunch of stuff happening. It was Bar gets a
- 1:33Speaker 1: cell phone, hilarity ensues.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Gets some wacky pranks. Wacky pranks happened. Well when I
- 1:39Speaker 4: say waky three, yeah, there were a couple of others.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I guess, but I see. I enjoyed this though. I
- 1:45Speaker 1: enjoyed it for what it was. It wasn't, by no
- 1:47Speaker 1: means a really good episode. I'm gonna throw it out there.
- 1:50Speaker 1: This episode was just there. Right, It's just one of
- 1:53Speaker 1: those episodes.
- 1:53Speaker 4: It's just there. To me.
- 1:55Speaker 1: What took me out of the moment was it felt
- 1:57Speaker 1: so pointless in the sense that a whole whole basis,
- 2:00Speaker 1: the whole backbone of their plot is that they're trying
- 2:03Speaker 1: to find bart right, call.
- 2:04Speaker 4: His fucking phone. We're still in the infancy of mobile phones.
- 2:09Speaker 4: The technology is still weird and unpredictable with something there's
- 2:11Speaker 4: two thousand and eight my mum, Margaret Mary on a
- 2:17Speaker 4: mobile phone by this stage, Yes, that's and.
- 2:20Speaker 1: We all know how to call phones. You know, this
- 2:22Speaker 1: is the thing. Where's but why is he going here?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Call him and ask him?
- 2:25Speaker 4: Also, yeah, it's it's we do a lot of things
- 2:28Speaker 4: on our phones these days. Yeah, they're multi purpose, wonderful instruments,
- 2:34Speaker 4: but they're primarily a telephone. You can call people on
- 2:39Speaker 4: the telephone. Yes, why don't you do that? That's a
- 2:41Speaker 4: very good point.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Down the whole episode just falls in a heat once
- 2:45Speaker 1: you realize, what did they just call him? I just
- 2:46Speaker 1: went I just I can't. It's fine. I'm trying to
- 2:50Speaker 1: enjoy what you've got here as a story, but I
- 2:52Speaker 1: can't ignore the fact that they're not calling him.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It does. Yeah, the point is, oh, they're monitoring their spying.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's meant to be kind of a secret, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 4: if they call. But wait a minute, how do you
- 3:05Speaker 4: know where if I'm not where I say I am
- 3:07Speaker 4: or something like that. I wholly understand that. But at
- 3:11Speaker 4: the same time, yes, you've just basically you've sunk this
- 3:15Speaker 4: episode's battleship. Check mate. I miss the thing I like
- 3:20Speaker 4: last Verizon, see it.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I thought there was a basis for a really good
- 3:23Speaker 1: story here, actually, because you had the idea of mother.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Marge had a similar story with making. But Marge, well
- 3:31Speaker 1: I know Marge wanted to not baby her so much. Yes,
- 3:33Speaker 1: and margin needs to not be so protective and watch
- 3:35Speaker 1: over Bart so much. Right, so she needs to learn
- 3:38Speaker 1: as a parent. Bart is old enough now to be
- 3:40Speaker 1: able to do things. I trusting to go do things
- 3:41Speaker 1: by himself, right, but also needs to learn and understand
- 3:46Speaker 1: I want to be independent, I'm becoming more dependent, bust
- 3:48Speaker 1: to need my mom.
- 3:49Speaker 4: Yes, with great freedom comes great responsibility.
- 3:52Speaker 1: And there was what it took way too long into
- 3:55Speaker 1: the episode before they got to that point, right, because
- 3:58Speaker 1: they need to be got.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Far into the episode, and pretty much the end of
- 4:01Speaker 4: the episode.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Wasn't It was like the last third, I want to say,
- 4:03Speaker 1: because Bart was at home, Oh yeah, scared and having
- 4:06Speaker 1: during the day and scared whatnot? That should have been
- 4:08Speaker 1: the episode, right. You need to find a better way
- 4:11Speaker 1: to have the family outside of the house though, because
- 4:13Speaker 1: the family being outside of the house pure because they're
- 4:15Speaker 1: not calling his phone, the're trying.
- 4:16Speaker 4: To track this fight.
- 4:16Speaker 1: It was just it was ridiculous. It was just too
- 4:18Speaker 1: ridiculous to buy into. But you need to have more
- 4:21Speaker 1: repercussions for the actions. And we don't hear say Bart
- 4:23Speaker 1: never confronts his parents for tracking him. The whole basis
- 4:26Speaker 1: of the story was you're tracking Bart you shouldn't be
- 4:28Speaker 1: doing that. Well, there's no resolution to that story. He
- 4:31Speaker 1: gets back home and he goes, never leave me again.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But the whole basis of it was that he was
- 4:36Speaker 1: annoyed that they're tracking him.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Yeah, and they didn't. They didn't have that conversation. Who
- 4:40Speaker 4: do you think the episode is saying, is in the
- 4:43Speaker 4: wrong or is anyone in the wrong.
- 4:44Speaker 1: No, one's in the wrong. But that's the problem is
- 4:47Speaker 1: they don't give you a resolution. So the resolution should
- 4:49Speaker 1: have been we're both wrong, we're both right, but look,
- 4:52Speaker 1: we need to find a middle ground here. I trust
- 4:54Speaker 1: you to do things. But it needed to end with music.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Cue Bart saying yes, Mum, I'm ten, I can do
- 5:01Speaker 1: things for myself, but I'll always need my mom.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Well yeah, that needs to be the underwing message, some
- 5:07Speaker 4: way to communicate that.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I always need my mum and and hope it can
- 5:11Speaker 1: say me too, Yeah, sure, but he'll always need This
- 5:15Speaker 1: should have been a Marge be not proud, march butt
- 5:18Speaker 1: moment ending, and we just didn't get it. There was
- 5:20Speaker 1: just it was always like they just didn't know where
- 5:22Speaker 1: they were going. There's just let's just see where it goes.
- 5:25Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I mean, well, You've got to wonder what
- 5:27Speaker 4: the start point for this episode, what was the foundation
- 5:29Speaker 4: of it?
- 5:30Speaker 1: Well, the foundation was the Bart. What in your phone?
- 5:33Speaker 4: Right now?
- 5:33Speaker 1: What was the very start of the other side.
- 5:36Speaker 4: The foundation of the bear. No, I'm not talking about
- 5:38Speaker 4: the actual start of the story. I'm talking about what
- 5:41Speaker 4: what are we saying with this episode? What are we
- 5:43Speaker 4: doing this?
- 5:43Speaker 1: Well, but but what's the Yeah, this was Bart wanting
- 5:46Speaker 1: to be fit in at school because he was the
- 5:48Speaker 1: only one that didn't have a phone, right, and then
- 5:50Speaker 1: Marge eventually she doesn't want to buy the focus. She
- 5:52Speaker 1: doesn't want him to have that independence. He wants to
- 5:54Speaker 1: be somewhat independent. That that's that's the basis of the story.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Marge doesn't want just wants to be ever protective. Mart
- 6:01Speaker 1: wants to say, I don't need you.
- 6:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's the what am I looking for? The
- 6:07Speaker 4: core conflict of this? But what's independence? I can do
- 6:10Speaker 4: it by myself. Yeah, Marge wants to monitor there in
- 6:14Speaker 4: lies the conflict.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yes, okay, it needed to end with bartessentially.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Also, and also, Verizon, there's no sponsoring this episode quote
- 6:24Speaker 4: unquote sponsoring this episode, I thought. And also we've got
- 6:27Speaker 4: access to Dennis Leary. Dennis said, Hey, I'd love to
- 6:30Speaker 4: be on an episode of the Simpsons, and we don't
- 6:31Speaker 4: know how to fit Dennis Leary.
- 6:32Speaker 1: And I just thought I was getting vibes of whenever
- 6:37Speaker 1: Dennis Leary' is not on the screen, everyone should be saying,
- 6:39Speaker 1: where Dennis Leary? How many times do you hear someone
- 6:42Speaker 1: say Dennis Leary in this Dennis Leary, Dennis Leary, Dennis Leary.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I thought I was sick of Dennis Theleary by the
- 6:46Speaker 1: end of it.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Yeah, and in all honesty, I mean two thousand and eight.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I'm wondering which stage of his career he was that
- 6:52Speaker 4: was he doing that cop that fire show? I think
- 6:56Speaker 4: I think Rescuing Me had been going for a couple
- 6:57Speaker 4: of years before this good show E scu Me by
- 7:00Speaker 4: the way, Yeah, for a while, and went on something
- 7:02Speaker 4: like five or six seasons, So it might have started
- 7:04Speaker 4: in the early two thousand.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Well, that's what they had to acknowledge the voice of
- 7:07Speaker 1: that movie that you're in that movie. You like that
- 7:09Speaker 1: Diego character. Well, yeah, I think that's for the kids
- 7:11Speaker 1: at home, because kids as a kid, and he doesn't
- 7:14Speaker 1: know who the fuck is Tennis Leary.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think there's too many people buying the
- 7:18Speaker 4: CD of No Cure for Cancer or chan Our Judgment
- 7:20Speaker 4: Night asshole.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Right, yeah, so that even that it's one of these
- 7:25Speaker 1: weird guys where he's like super popular because of that.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah when you if you see viewers, and he
- 7:29Speaker 4: parlayed that into a pretty decent career.
- 7:32Speaker 1: In terms of I think it was The Dad and
- 7:33Speaker 1: the Sandlot Kids, Yeah yeah, oh yeah.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Demolisher Man he was. He had a bit put in
- 7:39Speaker 4: Demolition Man, basically playing Dennis Leary. I mean he just
- 7:42Speaker 4: did a Denis Leary riff.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I think demolished demolition What is it?
- 7:46Speaker 4: Demolishing? Demolishing? There is a well known science fiction book
- 7:51Speaker 4: called The Demolished Man. Okay, yes, who's demolished by Alfred Bester,
- 7:55Speaker 4: one of the Martin Princess Faves Rescue me. I'm just
- 7:57Speaker 4: gonna pear. Two thousand and four started as seven seasons. Yeah,
- 8:02Speaker 4: I mean, it's a it's a good show, and I
- 8:05Speaker 4: think we I've forgotten which show we did on TV
- 8:07Speaker 4: launch Pod where I sort of talked about the whole
- 8:10Speaker 4: bunch of those shows on FX that have just struck
- 8:13Speaker 4: this middle gram because they don't have the HBO budget,
- 8:15Speaker 4: but they've got HBO ambition and ideas, stuff like Rescue Me,
- 8:18Speaker 4: Damages and others too that I can't remember off the
- 8:23Speaker 4: top of my head. I was a huge Denis Leary guy,
- 8:26Speaker 4: certainly in the from When Arshole Came Out and is
- 8:30Speaker 4: Comedy Special No Cure for Cancer. When I auditioned for
- 8:34Speaker 4: I auditioned for NIDER, the National Institute Dramatic Arts. It's
- 8:38Speaker 4: the premiere acting school here in Australia. I did not
- 8:41Speaker 4: get in, but that's why I'm here. But now i'm pardcasting,
- 8:45Speaker 4: so fuck you, Nat. But you had to you had
- 8:49Speaker 4: to do at least one Shakespeare so I did something
- 8:50Speaker 4: from Henry in the Fifth but you also had to
- 8:52Speaker 4: do a couple of other monologues, and one I did
- 8:54Speaker 4: was a bit from No Cure for Cancer. Really yeah, yeah,
- 8:57Speaker 4: I was actually pretty happy with it.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I used to always confuse Dennis when I was a
- 9:00Speaker 1: kid with William Dafoe. Oh, I always go, isn't he
- 9:04Speaker 1: the guy that was the Green Goblin. No, it's not
- 9:06Speaker 1: the same person. It's just will more briekly version.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Of They're not They're not dissimilar in something.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Some similar imagine like ten years old looking at him. Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 1: that person. Yeah, but I've just noticed it. By the way,
- 9:18Speaker 1: your lovely Louise looks very much like Kelly Thorne.
- 9:21Speaker 4: We're talking about the Coastar of Rescue Me starring Dennis Leary.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Yea, yeah, I was look at the castle, like, is
- 9:25Speaker 1: that the lovely Louise?
- 9:27Speaker 4: Look at Kelly Thorne here?
- 9:28Speaker 1: All right, that's Anos. Look at Cally Thorne again. All right,
- 9:31Speaker 1: that's Kelly Thorne.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Loos pretty no, no didsuspect to Kellyhorn. But you know
- 9:36Speaker 4: you should be walking around saying I look like Louise Chance,
- 9:40Speaker 4: you'd be winning arts all over town. But look, Dennis Leary,
- 9:46Speaker 4: I actually thought he was okay in this. I mean
- 9:48Speaker 4: he just took too long to get to the story. Yeah,
- 9:49Speaker 4: he was doing his stick and I look, I admired
- 9:52Speaker 4: that he was game enough that they were sort of
- 9:54Speaker 4: taking potshots in his career is like, what are you
- 9:56Speaker 4: talking about? The show that's been canceled, the show that's
- 9:58Speaker 4: bad to be canceled. Yeah, he's had his run of
- 10:01Speaker 4: things like that, and not one of these guys, one
- 10:04Speaker 4: of these guys who's worked consistently and as a name brand,
- 10:06Speaker 4: but never really sort of broke through. Not a megastar,
- 10:08Speaker 4: not an a lister, but oh god, certainly in the
- 10:11Speaker 4: early early in the mid nineteen nineties. I mean, yeah,
- 10:14Speaker 4: he was on magazine covers, and yeah he was when
- 10:18Speaker 4: we had MTV. You know, he was sort of doing
- 10:20Speaker 4: little bits and pieces in that between music videos, he'd
- 10:22Speaker 4: be sort of doing little comedy stick bits, and yeah,
- 10:28Speaker 4: I'm never unhappy to see him. But at the same time,
- 10:31Speaker 4: this kind of feels like they pulled the name out
- 10:34Speaker 4: of a hat. This could be could have been anyone. Yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 4: like we could have got any celebrity sell phone. I
- 10:38Speaker 4: mean I almost feel if I was Leary, I'd feel
- 10:40Speaker 4: a bit kind of like, you don't want me to
- 10:42Speaker 4: sort of be a character or anything like that, want
- 10:44Speaker 4: to be myself And oh, okay, well, I guess this
- 10:47Speaker 4: is what I'd say in this situation. Or if I
- 10:49Speaker 4: had a punk kit on the other end of the line,
- 10:51Speaker 4: I'd be saying this tom blah blah blah. It's entertaining enough,
- 10:55Speaker 4: but it's also nice to get a guest spot from Brian.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Is that we need to rob Ron Howard holding her
- 11:03Speaker 4: bags and money again, still my favorite, one of my favorites,
- 11:08Speaker 4: but Yeah, we were talking about ice Age before. They've
- 11:10Speaker 4: just announced a sixth one. Yeah, they're bringing their band
- 11:13Speaker 4: back together. I think it's going to be Ray Romano,
- 11:15Speaker 4: John Leguizamo Leary. And there's four of them, right, because.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Queen the Tefa does He's misses.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yeah. But when it started, there were like four main
- 11:25Speaker 4: characters and they was Manny Sloth Diego. Was there a
- 11:28Speaker 4: fourth one? No, I might be thinking to like scrap,
- 11:33Speaker 4: let's try get get.
- 11:34Speaker 1: His nut ice age one.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Maybe? Yeah, just the three of them, Okay, Yeah, Ray Ramano,
- 11:40Speaker 4: John Leguizarmo and yeah, Dennis Leary. Yeah, they bring up
- 11:43Speaker 4: the sausage fast. It's all men. Just realized that they
- 11:46Speaker 4: introduced this a little bit later on that they'll they'll
- 11:49Speaker 4: bring it. I think when Latifa is someone's love interest,
- 11:51Speaker 4: your daughter as well.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Who's Peaches kick Palmer?
- 11:56Speaker 4: Oh ye, Palme's all over the place. She's very popular.
- 11:59Speaker 4: She is the pictures. Oh, because I thought you were
- 12:02Speaker 4: talking about like the singer Peaches who memoriy did the
- 12:05Speaker 4: song fuck the Pain Away, millions of Peaches different pictures. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 4: by all means google peachres Fuck the pain Way, great song.
- 12:15Speaker 4: He my favorite favorite moments for the episode favorite moments.
- 12:19Speaker 4: As I said, I liked that they took pot shots
- 12:21Speaker 4: at Dennis Larry's career. I thought Rescuing Me was actually
- 12:23Speaker 4: a pretty good show. Something I enjoyed was we had
- 12:27Speaker 4: too much Millhouse being sort of simpy as he always is.
- 12:32Speaker 4: But I loved when they were in the backyard and
- 12:34Speaker 4: you know they were going off to he and Nelson
- 12:36Speaker 4: were going to go off and do their own things.
- 12:38Speaker 4: He's looking at the guards like this as well, real
- 12:40Speaker 4: boogeyman weather. I love that description, Real boogeyman weather. That's fantastic,
- 12:44Speaker 4: because I mean, I love I love it when you know,
- 12:48Speaker 4: you look at something, you sing a storm coming and
- 12:49Speaker 4: it's like I got nothing new. I can just stay
- 12:51Speaker 4: inside and let the rain hit on the nose and
- 12:53Speaker 4: I'll be like, mom, nassing woman is dad. I'm apologized
- 12:56Speaker 4: to all those people at but but look at this
- 13:01Speaker 4: kind of go whoop, looks like why watch out the
- 13:04Speaker 4: storm coming in. Yeah. I think it's just a great description.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So yeah, probably my favorite moments from this episode. I
- 13:13Speaker 4: like that.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I also liked that Bart was really enjoying getting to
- 13:17Speaker 1: the tea party for Lisa. Oh yeah, I mean he
- 13:19Speaker 1: seemed to be enjoy the party, but just I felt
- 13:21Speaker 1: like he was doing it for Lisa's value.
- 13:22Speaker 4: Oh well, I mean the fact that he was like,
- 13:24Speaker 4: oh god, I got to go through this. But you
- 13:26Speaker 4: do enjoy the imaginary team?
- 13:28Speaker 5: Yes?
- 13:28Speaker 4: I do. Yeah, I mean I think we've all done
- 13:31Speaker 4: that occasional. W It's like, do I have to go
- 13:33Speaker 4: to this event? I enjoyed myself and I just can't
- 13:37Speaker 4: be bothered. Yeah, Okay, I'm here, I'm having fun just
- 13:41Speaker 4: by myself. Well, it's funny.
- 13:43Speaker 1: I got I was getting to that point in my
- 13:44Speaker 1: life when I had to sort of just go no
- 13:46Speaker 1: because I was going. I think I just prefer to
- 13:48Speaker 1: stay home, and then I'd go why Why did no
- 13:51Speaker 1: one contacted me? Why do I not seem to have
- 13:53Speaker 1: much of a social network as I used to have,
- 13:55Speaker 1: because I'm not making any effort?
- 13:56Speaker 4: Correct? Yeah, next question you there the past. What is
- 14:02Speaker 4: the title of Agnes's Bingo strategy guide?
- 14:07Speaker 1: I thought you might ask that I didn't write it down.
- 14:09Speaker 4: I just called her a strategy guy. What was it?
- 14:10Speaker 4: It's all luck?
- 14:11Speaker 1: It was all something was all luck, all luck. It
- 14:14Speaker 1: is all luck. It is exactly right. My first question
- 14:17Speaker 1: for you is What role did Bart agree on behalf
- 14:21Speaker 1: of Dennis Leary to play in a film?
- 14:24Speaker 4: Was it the was it the gorilla in Everybody Poops?
- 14:27Speaker 4: What descriptive word though, oh, gorilla king. He was the
- 14:30Speaker 4: constanpated cop gorilla. That's right, and you got the movie time.
- 14:33Speaker 4: That's two of my questions gone. Everybody poops. Marge gets
- 14:38Speaker 4: a letter, Well she's paying for pees on like the
- 14:42Speaker 4: yeah on after pay, Yeah, damn you after pay. I'm
- 14:48Speaker 4: getting these emails. Its like just don't don't forget a guy.
- 14:52Speaker 4: You I was this amount in that last time you
- 14:53Speaker 4: didn't have enough money. I was like, I've always got
- 14:56Speaker 4: enough money for after pay, but not enough for anything else.
- 14:59Speaker 4: But I'll be looking at my after pay thing, going
- 15:02Speaker 4: only two more payments for that massive payment that I
- 15:05Speaker 4: had to make and put on after paid, thinking that's
- 15:07Speaker 4: tomorrow guy's problem.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And then two words black Friday, I did I did
- 15:13Speaker 1: as maxed out again, Well, Davis be shopping.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Well that's true. When to Amazon is like I had
- 15:20Speaker 4: I had three things in the in the cart, like
- 15:26Speaker 4: don't really need it, this can wait. Oh, but they've
- 15:31Speaker 4: taken twenty bucks off this. This is the best I'm going.
- 15:33Speaker 1: To discussing saving money before we went delight to answer
- 15:36Speaker 1: this is this is where the money goes. Oh yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: don't put shit in your cart unless you're going to
- 15:40Speaker 1: buy it.
- 15:40Speaker 4: That's one thing. Well, that's true. And you know, I
- 15:42Speaker 4: also I think I learned from my waggled the finger
- 15:45Speaker 4: at me just and a guy getting.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Scolded now to take this this sort of mentality. Nicola
- 15:52Speaker 1: said this to me. She goes, don't put anything on
- 15:54Speaker 1: after pay. Only buy something if you think we can
- 15:57Speaker 1: afford it out right, And I went the other day,
- 16:00Speaker 1: I want to buy something. I went, I don't want
- 16:02Speaker 1: need to see much money I'm spending on this.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I won't buy it. It works.
- 16:06Speaker 1: But if I put on an after pay, it's just
- 16:07Speaker 1: one of those payments that comes out down the track.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But if nikolaould then go, why are you to send
- 16:11Speaker 1: three oun of dollar at jab high fine, I've gone,
- 16:13Speaker 1: Oh they're not gonna get a questioned about it. Yeah, well,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I mean, howld a cannibal hold yourself a cannibal?
- 16:18Speaker 4: Well that's true. Having said that, I mean.
- 16:20Speaker 1: It is my fu you're now using after pan Amazon.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Yeah that's but but I do have a really effective
- 16:28Speaker 4: dison vacuum cleaner as a result. So there you go.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Why would this make after pay available on Amazon? Doesn't
- 16:34Speaker 1: make any sense to me?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Right?
- 16:36Speaker 1: Why create the you have to white Amazon gift card
- 16:39Speaker 1: just to make it just makes makes sense?
- 16:41Speaker 4: I don't know. I think they've got a deal together
- 16:43Speaker 4: words because you can only get Amazon gift cards for
- 16:47Speaker 4: certain amounts, so you might like ten of them. That's
- 16:50Speaker 4: the thing. That's what it like. I'm gonna need this
- 16:52Speaker 4: and then you know, oh but you've got a little
- 16:53Speaker 4: extra in your candah blah blah blah blah blah. Anyway,
- 16:57Speaker 4: what was the upshot of that after pay I'm broke?
- 17:00Speaker 4: Something like that.
- 17:02Speaker 1: We're talking about. I actually want to throw this one
- 17:04Speaker 1: out there.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Oh yeah, you go first. No, I know why we
- 17:07Speaker 4: were talking about after Thatay, but you want it? Okay.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I just want to say, if you are a prime member.
- 17:11Speaker 1: I'm not being paid for this obviously because Amazon I
- 17:13Speaker 1: don't pay us. But I noticed this last night. If
- 17:15Speaker 1: you're a Prime member in Australia, you get two years
- 17:18Speaker 1: free of daughtah.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, except I'm trying to it wouldn't work. Yeah, it
- 17:22Speaker 4: wouldn't work for me either. It's just an endless loop.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yes, I'm like I said in bad like fifteen minutes
- 17:27Speaker 1: last night.
- 17:28Speaker 4: I couldn't work it out. Oh thank god if it
- 17:30Speaker 4: was just me, Daddy, Jeff, lift your game. I'm like,
- 17:33Speaker 4: we want free daughter.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I'm getting text mess because Nicholas numbers on the accounts.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I want Nichola.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It's a new six digit log into the door dash account.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And she's like, okay, it's this, this, this, and then
- 17:43Speaker 1: she goes, Nicola, wake up, I need this.
- 17:44Speaker 4: She's like, just check my phone. Wake up.
- 17:48Speaker 1: So I'm like, I'm okay, I'm glad to work for
- 17:50Speaker 1: you because you click except and then just take it
- 17:52Speaker 1: back to Amazon again.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Yes, it does make sense. It does make sense. All right,
- 17:55Speaker 4: we might have to get on Reddit or Whirlpool Films
- 17:57Speaker 4: or something like that. See this happening to everybody, because
- 17:59Speaker 4: this happened to Dan on us and we like door
- 18:03Speaker 4: We don't like to go out to your computer. Maybe
- 18:06Speaker 4: not through the phone both. Yeah, I just couldn't get
- 18:10Speaker 4: it into work. I don't know, man, but yeah, lift
- 18:12Speaker 4: your game.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It's just some scheme that door das should put together,
- 18:15Speaker 1: like remind everyone of door dash that exists.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Yeah, so you're not using.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yes anyway, She get into some Patreon chats.
- 18:25Speaker 4: We could finish our trivia first. I have more questions
- 18:27Speaker 4: hit me in. Yeah, I was a better launch into
- 18:30Speaker 4: a question when we started our after pay and door
- 18:33Speaker 4: Dash and Amazon Prime and basically all our tech woes.
- 18:37Speaker 4: But yeah, Marge is paying for peas on the La plan.
- 18:42Speaker 4: She gets a notice payous now bill from which pea company?
- 18:50Speaker 4: It's on the enflope? Yeah, I know which was it.
- 18:52Speaker 4: It's called Allied Peas. Allied pis Yes, even really a
- 18:56Speaker 4: joke you think they come up with like a joke
- 18:57Speaker 4: name for the pea company.
- 19:00Speaker 1: It's a reference to Allied biscuits.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Could be but you know one do you call it
- 19:03Speaker 4: like you pee yourself or something like that.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Well, Nicola always says that when she drops the peas
- 19:07Speaker 1: on the floor, I just peed on the floor. It
- 19:09Speaker 1: never never gets old with the kids, gets up with Dan.
- 19:13Speaker 1: My last question for you is what were they cooking
- 19:15Speaker 1: on the barbecue? Oh it was like Twizzler hot dog Twizzlers.
- 19:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Actually this took me back that moment because the first
- 19:24Speaker 1: time when I had a friend who us to do
- 19:26Speaker 1: radio with Michael and he was one of those guys
- 19:28Speaker 1: who just his mom lived in Melbourne. So she basically said,
- 19:30Speaker 1: well she worked in Melburn. She goes, I'm moving to Melbourne.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I'm going to pay you. You can read it has well.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Eighteen was he just turned eighteen, so he had a
- 19:36Speaker 1: place in town and I'd stay at Michael's place like
- 19:38Speaker 1: two nights a week and then go to school. And
- 19:40Speaker 1: I was like, it felt so independent. By cooking our dinners.
- 19:42Speaker 1: We're having like the pasta at the sachets, like two
- 19:46Speaker 1: dollars chicken, when hard shaped snitsels were two bucks from
- 19:48Speaker 1: the deli and it's like five bucks. We're having a feast.
- 19:50Speaker 1: We're cooking.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Our sales were so independent. Those times when you could
- 19:54Speaker 4: get a harsh taped snitzl for two bucks.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Harsh shaped stenzlsup used to be when I went in
- 19:58Speaker 1: the Delhi that always happen once for a dollar each, hot.
- 20:01Speaker 4: Chicken snitzle for a dollar. Oh yeah, not to name names,
- 20:04Speaker 4: but a great social media poster saw it was like
- 20:09Speaker 4: remember those days when Cole said you could feed your
- 20:11Speaker 4: family from under ten dollars. Now a bag of cheese
- 20:14Speaker 4: costs nine to fifty. Yeah this is true.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I get that bag of cheese is thirteen dollars ninety.
- 20:23Speaker 4: What we're saying is consider becoming a patron. She cuts money,
- 20:29Speaker 4: but as does the show. But you know, we'd like
- 20:32Speaker 4: to think it's worth it.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Luckily these people have already done, so that's true. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: have one more question though, Okay, what's the really?
- 20:39Speaker 4: What's this question? Asked? What's the up rated movie that
- 20:41Speaker 4: Bar goes to watch? Rader movie? No idea? What was
- 20:45Speaker 4: called sever sever horror movie? I don't think that was about? Yeah? Yeah.

- 21:33Speaker 1: Zach Wood, a Hoy Hoy guy and Danner. I've been
- 21:35Speaker 1: listening to four Finger Discounts since twenty seventeen. I fell
- 21:38Speaker 1: off a bit in twenty eighteen, but decided last year
- 21:40Speaker 1: to jump back in and listen from the beginning. I've
- 21:42Speaker 1: gone all the way through going down to South Park,
- 21:44Speaker 1: and I'm around two seasons behind them. Fourfing a discount
- 21:46Speaker 1: catching up very fast, which is why I realized I
- 21:48Speaker 1: hadn't sent in a review request from one hundred dollar
- 21:50Speaker 1: patrits status. Maybe Zach Wood's at a long time ago
- 21:53Speaker 1: and it's just Zach Liichmas as a new person. Maybe possibly
- 21:56Speaker 1: says I'm actually Zach Wood. I've made a couple of
- 21:58Speaker 1: appearances on The Guy Davis New Own Challenge recently. I've
- 22:01Speaker 1: been skipping to that part of the review when the
- 22:03Speaker 1: new ones come out and as to see if I've
- 22:04Speaker 1: actually placed that people actually care.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Well, that's true.
- 22:07Speaker 1: But being a former pro wrestler and current ring announcer
- 22:10Speaker 1: of English promotion Elevation Wrestling, Oh, Zach Liigmas is my
- 22:12Speaker 1: ring name. This is Zacklichmas. Here's a professional wrestling ring
- 22:15Speaker 1: announcer in the UK.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Look at that.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Let's give a shout out to Elevation wrestling in the UK.
- 22:21Speaker 4: Check him out. If you're a wrestling fan, absolutely, or
- 22:23Speaker 4: even if you're not. Yeah.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Now, after all that being a huge wrestling fan, knowing
- 22:26Speaker 1: Dana is also a huge wrestling fan, and I'm sure

- 22:31Speaker 1: request is for you guys to review They Live with
- 22:34Speaker 1: Rowdy Roddy Piper fuck yes, considering I recently spoke with
- 22:41Speaker 1: one Keith David.
- 22:44Speaker 4: That's right, you did. I did not, But then I did?
- 22:49Speaker 4: I mean I didn't. I didn't.
- 22:51Speaker 1: I did briefly, not for the interview that they did
- 22:54Speaker 1: with Jim Cummings, but I spoke to him as well.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I didn't speak to Keith brief about five minutes. Yeah, okay,
- 23:00Speaker 1: setting up the interview. Okay, but still that's enough. I think,
- 23:03Speaker 1: you know, I think Zach right in let us know,
- 23:06Speaker 1: may I bag of forfit discun dot com.
- 23:08Speaker 4: You do you want to hear us review that film?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Would you rather hear Guy and Leonard Moulton review that film?
- 23:13Speaker 4: Oh? A distinct possibility. We do have Leonard on speed
- 23:17Speaker 4: Darlies that we do.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Indeed, yes, would I should we call it it?

- 23:36Speaker 4: Loved rowdy Roddie. What a guy? Yes, the Lord? All right?
- 23:39Speaker 4: Well yes, well yeah, thank you, Zach. We did briefly
- 23:41Speaker 4: talk about.
- 23:42Speaker 1: They live in our review of the south Park Battle
- 23:45Speaker 1: between Timmy and Jimmy.
- 23:47Speaker 4: We did, indeed, but don't go back and listen to that.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Zach will give you a whole new concience listening to
- 23:54Speaker 4: go down to south Park. So well, that's true. So

- 23:59Speaker 4: in the the main course, all right, and the following people.
- 24:02Speaker 1: We need to start off by saying, now there's a
- 24:04Speaker 1: lovely lady who has been a Stonecutter supporter who hasn't

- 24:24Speaker 1: was a kid. I never hear the name Isabella. I
- 24:26Speaker 1: remember her name was Isabella in the movie, right, and
- 24:31Speaker 1: the guy who was playing her on and off again boyfriend.
- 24:34Speaker 4: What was his name.
- 24:35Speaker 1: He's one of those great villains. He's a villain face
- 24:38Speaker 1: drop dead Fred cast Tim Matheson, Tim Madison, Yeah, just great,

- 25:47Speaker 4: his birthday and apparently all these women were coming over
- 25:49Speaker 4: and saying, I'd like to give you a birthday present, Tim,
- 25:51Speaker 4: and he took advantage. One of these women was Kirsty Alley. Really,
- 25:55Speaker 4: Holy moly, Tim Mathieson, I.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Used the sad line, guy.
- 26:02Speaker 4: What a Lord? I send that. I said something to
- 26:06Speaker 4: Dan earlier today, and I think we need to the

- 27:52Speaker 1: it to my wife Nicola, who is working her ass
- 27:54Speaker 1: off exercise wise and everything. And just I looked at
- 27:57Speaker 1: the other night, I was like, holy shit, I need
- 27:59Speaker 1: to lift my game. That's how I should always feel.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But I'm true, just like you know when people just
- 28:06Speaker 1: inspire you, She's inspiring me.
- 28:08Speaker 4: The Oh yeah, well no, The Lovely Lawis has a
- 28:10Speaker 4: ship a few killers as well. Looks spectacular looking, you know,
- 28:13Speaker 4: a lot like Callie Thorne Starr of TV is rescuing me.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Actually nope, even better. Uh yeah. We went to some
- 28:21Speaker 4: occasional the other day and someone said, Louie, you look fantastic.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Oh you look good too. I look like I slept
- 28:30Speaker 1: in a ditch. It would have been better if they
- 28:32Speaker 1: just said, Louise look fantastic.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I would have been like, yeah, she does. But then yeah, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 4: you get thrown like a very scrawny no meat on
- 28:41Speaker 4: the bone, and it's like, thanks, what.
- 28:44Speaker 1: The acknowledgement at the end of Terminator.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, acknowledgement of the word to the weight loss
- 28:50Speaker 4: of Guy Davis.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Anyway, and the couch gave the family rushes to the
- 28:54Speaker 1: viewing area of a mountain, where they are carved into
- 28:56Speaker 1: the mountain's face rushmore. Yes, Bart remarks, I corumba punk
- 29:00Speaker 1: seeing the statue right. The episode kicks off with as
- 29:06Speaker 1: I get my notes together, the Skinner and Agnes roo
- 29:10Speaker 1: near the Rotho. Yes, they're out of petrol or gas
- 29:12Speaker 1: as they call it in the States, so she sends
- 29:14Speaker 1: him off to get some more gas or she reads
- 29:17Speaker 1: her Bingo strategy guide. And this just felt like filler
- 29:20Speaker 1: a lot of it, didn't.
- 29:21Speaker 4: It It did. I'm a little put out by the
- 29:25Speaker 4: Wikipedia description of this part of the plot. They say
- 29:28Speaker 4: principal Skinner makes a fool of himself on a freeway.
- 29:30Speaker 4: I think it actually does a very good job of
- 29:32Speaker 4: getting from side to side.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I think it's foolish at all. Yeah, it's not foolish
- 29:36Speaker 1: at all. But it's because the kids are seeing it.
- 29:37Speaker 1: They're laughing at That's just what they're.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Going They're laughing at this misfortune.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he does get to the other side
- 29:42Speaker 1: without the container.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Well, okay, that's foolish. Okay, maybe Wikipedia has a point
- 29:47Speaker 4: full of himself. So do you actually watch the episode
- 29:50Speaker 4: or just read the wicked descriptions these days? What am I, Mitch?
- 29:57Speaker 1: Because then you wouldn't be reading the wicked descriptions. It
- 30:02Speaker 1: always gets run over. Then Homer says, that counts as
- 30:05Speaker 1: a Parenteger press conference. They got I think Parenteger conference
- 30:08Speaker 1: they call, we call it parentiegic interview.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Yeah, the Millhouse calls everybody in us. Thought, since when
- 30:12Speaker 1: does Millhouse everybody everybody on speed dial? Why would they
- 30:14Speaker 1: answer his phone call? But whatever, it's what they wanted
- 30:17Speaker 1: to serve for this purpose, for the story.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Yes, they have rejected their usual reality and replaced it
- 30:22Speaker 4: with a new one.
- 30:23Speaker 1: So they're just basically everyone's now all the kids in
- 30:25Speaker 1: Springfeld now are aware that Skinner is making the fool
- 30:27Speaker 1: of himself on the highway, and Barney's just doing community service,
- 30:31Speaker 1: no explanation as to why he just is But was.
- 30:34Speaker 4: It community service or was he just our drink? Collecting
- 30:38Speaker 4: beer cans and drinking the drink?
- 30:40Speaker 1: It was running the orange jumpsuit was why would you
- 30:42Speaker 1: go to the effort he is run the orange jumpsuit?
- 30:44Speaker 4: I know, maybe for cover, Like that's panthetic if I'm
- 30:47Speaker 4: doing community.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Service, I suppose just well, at least bigger, I don't
- 30:50Speaker 1: make it more obvious. Then yeah, but you thinks Skinner
- 30:54Speaker 1: is a giant beer can. So he chases after him
- 30:56Speaker 1: with the well they called those tools the jabber.
- 30:58Speaker 4: The spiker up the cans in but either way, Phil.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yep, but then says, yeah, but it's not there. There
- 31:05Speaker 1: where is Bart or he hasn't got a cell phone,
- 31:07Speaker 1: so I'm sure he's off doing something great. Cut to
- 31:08Speaker 1: Bart doing a tea party, having a tea party with Lisa.
- 31:12Speaker 4: I don't know why I agree to this because you
- 31:15Speaker 4: love the taste of my nineteen eighty.
- 31:19Speaker 1: You're right, and the bully shot up and they show
- 31:23Speaker 1: but what he missed out on. It was all just
- 31:24Speaker 1: various photos of Skinner getting laughed at, and then I
- 31:27Speaker 1: think the last photo was Barney walking.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Off with Agnes getting clowned. Yea, but then please for
- 31:33Speaker 4: a phone.
- 31:33Speaker 1: You want to really wants a phone, like everybody else,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I think we've anyone who grew up in the nineties
- 31:38Speaker 1: went through this face because you you could just got
- 31:39Speaker 1: and buy your phone.
- 31:40Speaker 4: You're old enough.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I had to ask my parents to buy me your phone,
- 31:43Speaker 1: and I was one of the last ones. I can
- 31:44Speaker 1: really relate to this story, being one of the last
- 31:46Speaker 1: ones to get the phone. But looking back now, you
- 31:49Speaker 1: know how many times when you're a kid, you look
- 31:51Speaker 1: back when you're a dot and go, I despised this
- 31:53Speaker 1: decision by my parents back now and go that was
- 31:56Speaker 1: the best possible decision. But basically March says, we can't
- 31:59Speaker 1: afford the phone though, because they're paying off frozen peas
- 32:01Speaker 1: and installments, you know, just not going well at all.
- 32:03Speaker 1: So it goes for a wonder and he gets hit
- 32:05Speaker 1: or nearly gets hit by golf.
- 32:06Speaker 4: What does he hit? I nearly gets hit, but before
- 32:08Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, but it's disappointed because he can't get
- 32:11Speaker 4: a phone. LISTA, it's disappointed because like I want to
- 32:13Speaker 4: go take.
- 32:13Speaker 1: A much pitch. That was another thing I had an
- 32:16Speaker 1: issue with. I was like, was like going to much
- 32:18Speaker 1: a pissue, right, it's just such a passing comment. I'm
- 32:20Speaker 1: glad they at least planted a seed for it. Right
- 32:23Speaker 1: later on, but just out of nowhere, I really want
- 32:25Speaker 1: to go to this random place that we've never been
- 32:27Speaker 1: to before. Guess what's been going.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Is migrating there.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Let's go there. But anyway, so he gets nearly as
- 32:35Speaker 1: hit by the golf ball. Turned it with doctor Hibbitts
- 32:37Speaker 1: from the country club. He returns it and he gives
- 32:39Speaker 1: him one dollar. Those balls cost five dollars, I believe,
- 32:41Speaker 1: he says. And this is where he realized, Oh, I
- 32:43Speaker 1: can save some money for a phone. Again, could also
- 32:45Speaker 1: be a plot point of independence, but legitately earning money
- 32:52Speaker 1: to get.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Something that he that he wants.
- 32:53Speaker 1: That could also be a story in the stuff that
- 32:55Speaker 1: maybe he buys a phone and then the phone gets
- 32:57Speaker 1: taken all the phone gets broken, and he really because
- 32:59Speaker 1: he earned that phone, learning the idea of because kids
- 33:03Speaker 1: like Elliott and Holly, Elliot's starting to sort of get
- 33:05Speaker 1: at the concept of money and things cost things and whatnot.
- 33:08Speaker 1: When you're a kid, it's just I want that. Oh yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 1: why aren't you getting it for me?
- 33:11Speaker 4: You know? Yeah, that's it could plain to something interesting.
- 33:14Speaker 4: And this is on one that he earns the money
- 33:16Speaker 4: to pay for the phone. It's his phone. Marge is
- 33:19Speaker 4: not in the right trying.
- 33:21Speaker 1: To use that much, takes it from him and he goes,
- 33:24Speaker 1: but I paid for it. That's my phone, But I
- 33:25Speaker 1: said you couldn't have one. Yeah, that's where they could.
- 33:27Speaker 1: That's where they or you.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Know, monitoring and via the phone.
- 33:30Speaker 1: It's like, wait a minute, that would have been a
- 33:33Speaker 1: way better story. I get it, you wouldn't have the
- 33:35Speaker 1: denist Leary aspect, right, But but just conveniently gets a phone,
- 33:37Speaker 1: even though he's just not told not to write it
- 33:40Speaker 1: should be he earned the phone, so that's his that's
- 33:43Speaker 1: his point of saying, but I earned it and I
- 33:45Speaker 1: paid for it, but I said you couldn't have it.
- 33:47Speaker 1: That's where the that's where attention comes from. And then
- 33:50Speaker 1: you just have someone from Springfield like maud Flanders. Helen
- 33:53Speaker 1: love Joy would be a perfect example, saying you know
- 33:55Speaker 1: you could track them, and she goes, oh, okay, and
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'll get back in these good books. You know what,
- 33:59Speaker 1: but thought about it, you can have the phone back.
- 34:02Speaker 1: That's a much better way of having five minutes of
- 34:04Speaker 1: them taunting Dennis Leary.
- 34:06Speaker 4: I think so. But Dennis Leary, you work him in somewhere.
- 34:10Speaker 1: Dennis Leary could be the fucking golfer that hit him
- 34:12Speaker 1: with the golf at the start, not the hibbit. Done.
- 34:14Speaker 4: There you go doing another episode. We mixed it.
- 34:20Speaker 1: We think that could be a new segment.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Yeah, well there you are, you a little musical sting.
- 34:25Speaker 1: But do you not think that would have been a
- 34:26Speaker 1: better stign?
- 34:27Speaker 4: I think so. That's why I suggested part of it,
- 34:29Speaker 4: and you took it and ran with it.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I took it and remember it and it took
- 34:32Speaker 1: us how long? Three minutes?
- 34:33Speaker 4: Yeah, let's go to lunch.
- 34:37Speaker 1: But we get the montage of buck letting all the
- 34:39Speaker 1: various balls from people just text and shoots at him.
- 34:41Speaker 4: He takes the balls.
- 34:43Speaker 1: He should have been taken them properly, not stealing balls anyway.
- 34:46Speaker 4: So if we were doing it our yes we will.
- 34:50Speaker 1: He then steals the balls from him so they belonged
- 34:52Speaker 1: to him, and he thinks he's never going to get
- 34:54Speaker 1: a phone. Then it's time for the pro am. Dennis
- 34:57Speaker 1: Leary is playing golf here? Yes, what already established it?
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 35:01Speaker 1: What makes you so angry?
- 35:05Speaker 4: We shouldn't be doing this. It's just so easy.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Dennis Leary is touted by Krusty.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Oh great, we gotta wait for Dennis Leary.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Hey, Larry, if you want to have a tea party,
- 35:18Speaker 2: go back to Boston. Boston, Come on, ice Age, take
- 35:25Speaker 2: the shot.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Ice Age was the name of the film. I played Diego,
- 35:28Speaker 6: the vicious saber tooth tiger who guess what has a heart?
- 35:31Speaker 6: Now shut up or I'll have you all kicked out
- 35:33Speaker 6: of show business.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Damn it a cell phone. It's mine cool.
- 35:47Speaker 2: You can even watch commercials on it.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I've noticed it doing that a lot lately.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Yeah, it's is a commercial coming. Yeah, the flavor. It's
- 35:57Speaker 4: a thing on the Joe. Isn't it funny?
- 36:00Speaker 1: When you were reviewing it didn't feel like in the
- 36:02Speaker 1: golden era. But maybe if we go back and did
- 36:05Speaker 1: it week to week to week. But you find in
- 36:07Speaker 1: sense what was funny in the writer's room at a
- 36:10Speaker 1: particular time.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, Yeah.
- 36:12Speaker 1: So then he calls Millhouse and he thinks, does he
- 36:16Speaker 1: called Millhouse or his millhouse call him?
- 36:18Speaker 4: He calls, but then he gets a call from man
- 36:21Speaker 4: Brian Grazer.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Well, first of all, he calls Millhouse and Millhouse says,
- 36:24Speaker 1: you know, I think you're at a payphone, or you're
- 36:26Speaker 1: in your kitchen. That's where their place where your phones are.
- 36:28Speaker 1: But no, he's outside the window. He comes in said,
- 36:30Speaker 1: oh my god, you got a phone. Let's assign each
- 36:31Speaker 1: other ring tones. That is one of my favorite memories
- 36:33Speaker 1: of having the old school nockier phones is the polyphonic
- 36:36Speaker 1: ring tones. We used to be able to get the
- 36:38Speaker 1: codes for making songs. Oh yeah, did you ever do that?
- 36:41Speaker 1: I never did. I specifically remember making Sweet Child of
- 36:44Speaker 1: Mine and that.
- 36:45Speaker 4: Dude, you do do do do?
- 36:46Speaker 1: Dude? I was like, this is the greatest. When do
- 36:51Speaker 1: you think phone technology peaked for me? I'm not gonna lie.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I will stand by this. Phone technology peaked with filters.
- 37:00Speaker 1: When you can put the phone in front of a
- 37:02Speaker 1: kid's face and have them do funny ship, that that
- 37:07Speaker 1: was the peak of phones.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 1: They could sit there for three hours doing that ship. Okay, well,
- 37:13Speaker 1: have you seen the one where it makes you look
- 37:14Speaker 1: like you're crying and if you laugh, it looks like
- 37:16Speaker 1: you're crying even harder. Yes, mate, amazing. But Brian Grazer calls,
- 37:21Speaker 1: but you think he's calling Dennis Leary. He does why
- 37:25Speaker 1: Dennis Leary didn't just cancel his his phone number.
- 37:28Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 37:29Speaker 1: I don't think the writers really knew how phones worked.
- 37:34Speaker 1: I think they did, even won't ask questions.
- 37:38Speaker 4: There's a little thing that we like to call the
- 37:40Speaker 4: too hard basket. Someone for to do pile.
- 37:52Speaker 1: The top of the to do pile, make effort nor
- 37:57Speaker 1: to Brian Grazer calls him with the five million You
- 38:00Speaker 1: just pay five million dollars for the rights.
- 38:01Speaker 4: To Everybody Poops?
- 38:03Speaker 1: Sounds very much like a Rob Schneider film.
- 38:05Speaker 4: It does, doesn't.
- 38:07Speaker 1: But he agrees to agrees on his behalf, agrees to
- 38:09Speaker 1: do it for minimum wage.
- 38:10Speaker 4: You know, it's an actual book, Everybody Poops? Is it?
- 38:13Speaker 2: Really?
- 38:14Speaker 4: It was originally Japanese. I didn't know that, okay, but
- 38:17Speaker 4: the American translation of well, I believe in Japanese, I'm
- 38:21Speaker 4: gonna probably mispronounce, and I certainly want to do an
- 38:24Speaker 4: accent mina UNCHI.
- 38:26Speaker 1: So this is going down to south like there'd be
- 38:28Speaker 1: accents galore.
- 38:29Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Everybody poops.
- 38:32Speaker 1: But he plans basically just a screw him over. Okay,
- 38:36Speaker 1: you got a phone out of it, but yeah, it's
- 38:40Speaker 1: gonna be.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Bart Yeah, he's he's a wacky prankster. Yeah.
- 38:44Speaker 1: So basically Leary's in the film now the pilot poops
- 38:47Speaker 1: getting delivered to him. He is the constipated monkey, the gorilla. Yes,
- 38:50Speaker 1: and Bart calls the various bars around the world. I
- 38:52Speaker 1: actually didn't mind this because I just like that everywhere
- 38:56Speaker 1: anyway you go to in the world, the will.
- 38:58Speaker 4: Always be a bar with barfwires.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, and in the Australia one we actually got
- 39:03Speaker 1: the guy in the middle was actually the knifey Spoody.
- 39:06Speaker 4: It was actually him. What was the was his rain
- 39:08Speaker 4: bark or just called crocodile undies or something. I can't remember.
- 39:10Speaker 4: It just feels unimagined if there was Inger bar Beierman. Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 4: that was a take on Ingmar Bergman, the famous Swedish
- 39:17Speaker 4: film America. Even a visual shout out to one of
- 39:20Speaker 4: his famous one of his best movies, Persona, that the
- 39:24Speaker 4: shot of the two sort of one face looking at
- 39:26Speaker 4: the camera ones in profile famous shop.
- 39:29Speaker 1: I caught the mom of Mia.
- 39:33Speaker 4: I really, oh my goodness, yeah, MoMA MEA probably fucking
- 39:36Speaker 4: ripped that off Persona because Swedish, aren't they? Yes, what
- 39:40Speaker 4: the fuck I'm doing? That whole Tim and Eric mind
- 39:46Speaker 4: blowing thing.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Well, when did that movie come out?
- 39:49Speaker 4: Persona late sixties.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Nineteen sixty six, and then Mumi was the seventies obviously.
- 39:54Speaker 4: Mm hmm.
- 39:55Speaker 1: There you go, so Aver copied or was it an homage?
- 39:59Speaker 4: Yes? There against Persona is literally the MoMA Mere film clip.
- 40:03Speaker 4: Why would you not be a patron of this show
- 40:05Speaker 4: when we're coming up with fucking gold?
- 40:07Speaker 1: You're gonna go tweet about this today, aren't you?
- 40:09Speaker 4: Fucking ann Wow? And that guy is actually bewildered that
- 40:17Speaker 4: we weren't ever was going to go duh. But anyway,
- 40:21Speaker 4: that was fun.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I was like that time when I told you how
- 40:23Speaker 1: you're seeing the credits to Jaws actually see Roy Schneider
- 40:26Speaker 1: and fucking and I was like, have you watched the.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Film any we now return you to Yes, lost Horizon.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Yes, he's called all the various bars and he's just
- 40:43Speaker 1: creating havoc for the life of one Dennis. The reason
- 40:46Speaker 1: he's racking up his phone bill he is.
- 40:48Speaker 4: And he's also Dennis Leary is famously from Boston and uh,
- 40:53Speaker 4: but actually sends him what a whole bunch of stuff
- 40:56Speaker 4: from the from the New York Yankees, so which I
- 40:59Speaker 4: imagine would piss off a Ridzooks fanluck Leary.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Bart, how did you get a cell phone? Same way
- 41:04Speaker 2: you got me by accident on a golf course. Whose
- 41:07Speaker 2: phone is this? You'll never get it out of me? Okay, Millhouse,
- 41:11Speaker 2: it's Dennis Leary's.
- 41:14Speaker 3: I'm sorry, burning desperate for any signs of adult approval.
- 41:17Speaker 2: You did the right thing, yeah, Bart, Simpson's stolen cell phone.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Can I help you?
- 41:26Speaker 6: Damn straight you can. I'm Dennis Leary and your kid
- 41:28Speaker 6: is out of control.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry, mister Leary. Sometimes it's hard to be a parent.
- 41:33Speaker 4: No, it's not. It's easy. I'll tell you.
- 41:35Speaker 6: It's hard having to watch my stunt double run into
- 41:37Speaker 6: a burning building, worrying that people might realize it's not me,
- 41:39Speaker 6: it's him. Tried doing that.
- 41:42Speaker 2: I don't think I could, mister Leary. I'm so sorry.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I'll send you your phone back right away.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Keep the phone in fact, can I give you some advice?
- 41:50Speaker 2: Of course, you're Dennis Leary.
- 41:52Speaker 6: Give your kid back the phone, but first activate it's
- 41:55Speaker 6: built in GPS system. That way you can log onto
- 41:57Speaker 6: your carrier's website and track your son's movements the way
- 41:59Speaker 6: I try. Every actor who gets a movie that I
- 42:01Speaker 6: was up for.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Shouldn't you just be happy for their success?
- 42:05Speaker 6: I should be a lot of things.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Lady. We are watching Monk at the moment, right, Monk, and.
- 42:12Speaker 1: It's it's so great because Monk, but they pronounce it monk. Yeah,
- 42:16Speaker 1: two thousand eightish was that show?
- 42:19Speaker 4: Well, I definitely ruffled the same time as this episode.
- 42:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but GPS system there's still a lot of time
- 42:24Speaker 1: we had to explain what GPS stood for.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I just love it when it's like I'm going online,
- 42:30Speaker 1: I'm still going online.
- 42:33Speaker 4: It's like watching the I Forgot where you came out.
- 42:36Speaker 4: I feel like it's ninety five or ninety six. But
- 42:38Speaker 4: there's a Sandra Bullock movie called The Net.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I have never seen it, but note at it's kind.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Of like you can order a pizza over the internet.
- 42:48Speaker 4: What you know. They're reacting like like Guy when he
- 42:51Speaker 4: discovers the link between ingmar Bergman and Abba, just freaking
- 42:55Speaker 4: the fuck.
- 42:56Speaker 1: The cameras went on for this, but Guy's face when
- 42:58Speaker 1: it was like the he dropped.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Wait, yeah, you can take your selfie a bit later
- 43:06Speaker 4: something woo.
- 43:07Speaker 1: But the This is where Larry says that he tracks
- 43:10Speaker 1: the actors who got the roles that he was up
- 43:12Speaker 1: for as well. And then we've got the pop tarts
- 43:15Speaker 1: gag here, which I'm not sure is a reference to anything.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Didn't feel like a reference to anything, because I mean,
- 43:19Speaker 1: Dennis is not really an action movie star.
- 43:21Speaker 4: He was in a couple.
- 43:21Speaker 1: It was a bit bizarre. Yeah, and then that's it
- 43:24Speaker 1: for Dennis Leary.
- 43:25Speaker 4: So demas, yeah, go back to making the last season
- 43:28Speaker 4: to rescue me, Marge is.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Then she gives the phone back to Bart and lady,
- 43:33Speaker 1: you're the best mum ever, gives her a big hug.
- 43:35Speaker 1: I liked when he left and came back and gave
- 43:37Speaker 1: a stroke, because that's what Ali did. They he was like,
- 43:40Speaker 1: you're the best dad ever. Leaves He's like, no, what
- 43:42Speaker 1: he deserves another hug. Homer and Marge now tracking. She
- 43:47Speaker 1: says he took the bait like a fish or something.
- 43:50Speaker 4: What it was? What it was?
- 43:51Speaker 1: Yeah, he's at the construction wise it construction site. Turns
- 43:53Speaker 1: out he's writing fork lists for Millhouse. Marge arrives and
- 43:57Speaker 1: he's like, I'm just trying something constructive. And then it's
- 44:00Speaker 1: got the montage of Marge catching Bart in places he
- 44:02Speaker 1: shouldn't be essentially.
- 44:04Speaker 4: Two montages already, I've got nothing agains a good montage.
- 44:07Speaker 4: But yeah, I really think one per episode or in
- 44:13Speaker 4: a twenty five minute episode.
- 44:14Speaker 1: Yeah one, yeah one. But Bars is spinning around? Now
- 44:17Speaker 1: why is he spinning around? Is in the entire swing
- 44:19Speaker 1: at the backyard, and Lisa asks, what.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Are you guys doing?
- 44:22Speaker 1: Because she says, well, like she doesn't said the checking yet,
- 44:24Speaker 1: He's like, what are you doing? Homs is doing laundry.
- 44:26Speaker 1: She says, prove it, and he puts his clothes in
- 44:28Speaker 1: the an oven or something burns them. And she realized
- 44:32Speaker 1: that they're spying on Bart and showing that you know
- 44:35Speaker 1: it's wrong, you shouldn't be doing that.
- 44:37Speaker 4: She's big on civil rights, and Marge says, no, it's
- 44:39Speaker 4: not wrong. It just shows that we care.
- 44:40Speaker 1: And it cuts to Mo, who is listening. I always
- 44:42Speaker 1: enjoying Mo calling Marge.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Midge. You always enjoy that, yeah, Midge, heh, Midge. I
- 44:48Speaker 4: don't think I've got strong feelings about it one way
- 44:50Speaker 4: or another.
- 44:51Speaker 1: It's one of those sort of even season twenty, that's
- 44:53Speaker 1: probably the most recurring joke. Okay, the longest running besides
- 44:58Speaker 1: maybe Smither's being game Burns not knowing, but they haven't
- 45:01Speaker 1: really played that up anymore?
- 45:02Speaker 4: Do they? I think that I think they.
- 45:05Speaker 1: We haven't had a homophobic gag this season yet, which
- 45:07Speaker 1: is a good thing. We're two episodes in. Yeah, but
- 45:10Speaker 1: I do think that they do tone They do have
- 45:13Speaker 1: a favorite gags, but they tone down. The Smithers is gay,
- 45:16Speaker 1: but doesn't Is.
- 45:17Speaker 4: There one in here? One of the one of the phone,
- 45:20Speaker 4: one of the all off my friends are gay? Oh yeah,
- 45:25Speaker 4: I guess so sorry to burst your bubble, buddy, Yeah said,
- 45:32Speaker 4: but the FBI are listening and every words, and you're
- 45:35Speaker 4: in the slamer because MOA's listening to Amige. I love
- 45:38Speaker 4: the term slammer for prison. It's great. I got nothing
- 45:42Speaker 4: about other than that.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I just the nineties kids, A slammer was the thick
- 45:46Speaker 1: pog you would get when you were playing tasos or POGs,
- 45:49Speaker 1: and the way you would win is you would stack
- 45:51Speaker 1: them up like that. I'm not sure how this whoever
- 45:54Speaker 1: come up with these rules is ridiculous. You stack ther
- 45:56Speaker 1: tasos up and you would slam the slammer on top right,
- 46:00Speaker 1: which everyone's can go bang right, and when everyone's landed
- 46:03Speaker 1: face up, you got to keep And I'm like, as
- 46:04Speaker 1: you've been collecting like all these tazos over all these weeks,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and one guy just goes bomb with a lucky slam
- 46:09Speaker 1: and it's all of them turned up. You're like, you
- 46:10Speaker 1: just lose your whole lot, Like, who come up with
- 46:12Speaker 1: these rules?
- 46:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 46:14Speaker 1: Thrill, thrill, We're all losing a single coin to lose
- 46:19Speaker 1: your collection after one game.
- 46:20Speaker 4: I tend to be slammer as like a tequila slammer,
- 46:23Speaker 4: have a bit of think is it lemonade with the
- 46:26Speaker 4: tequila and yes, slammer, No, knock it back fast and
- 46:31Speaker 4: stuck a bit of lemon salt. Get drunk. Apparently guy
- 46:36Speaker 4: just wants to get drunk drunk right now.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yes, Lisa tries, Asa tries to tell Bart though he's
- 46:40Speaker 1: on the phone, and he buys some viagrapher skinner and
- 46:43Speaker 1: then he puts his tracker on the bird. What's he
- 46:45Speaker 1: realizes there's a tracker in there.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't don't make the viagraa gag if you can't,
- 46:49Speaker 4: if you don't have the the ability to punchline, yeah,
- 46:53Speaker 4: to pay it off.
- 46:54Speaker 1: It was just it was this kind of saying this
- 46:56Speaker 1: is weird, why so straight?
- 46:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean saurce it with the fact that he's
- 47:01Speaker 4: gonna have a viagrapt fuel direction. But just it's like
- 47:06Speaker 4: it's like when you're a teenager and you know your
- 47:09Speaker 4: dick gets out off the windblows and like.
- 47:10Speaker 1: It should have been cut to Skinner getting a massage.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Yes, but you've got a hold like something in front
- 47:15Speaker 4: of your down stairs area, your partsy piece.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and he Skinner getting message by a man and
- 47:23Speaker 1: all of a sudden, he's.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Like, whoa, yeah, that was good one something like that.
- 47:28Speaker 4: You just rode this whole fixing this thing.

- 47:53Speaker 1: But he puts the track on the bird, as I said,
- 47:55Speaker 1: the circling the bird sanctuary. Why is bar circling the
- 47:57Speaker 1: bird sanctuary? They leave to find out, but it now
- 48:01Speaker 1: has a house to himself, and what's he going to
- 48:02Speaker 1: do You're gonna take a bath, eat some vegetables, you
- 48:05Speaker 1: go to bed early with no TV. You really could
- 48:09Speaker 1: have done a fun home alone parody here.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Why didn't they? I don't know.
- 48:15Speaker 1: You could have had the bullies trying to get into
- 48:16Speaker 1: the house and bars and set up various taps around
- 48:18Speaker 1: the house to get them. You could have done this.
- 48:22Speaker 4: You could have done a Bart centered shout or call
- 48:27Speaker 4: back to when Homer didn't go to church and he
- 48:30Speaker 4: did the risky business thing and he made it? Did
- 48:32Speaker 4: he make moon waffles.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Home as patterned space age out of this world moon
- 48:36Speaker 1: Waffles whatever.
- 48:37Speaker 4: And just have it as a shot for shot echo
- 48:40Speaker 4: of that want to copy ship but just no, no, no,
- 48:43Speaker 4: there's a difference between a copy and a callback and
- 48:46Speaker 4: a call back. Here. I just think, see I can
- 48:49Speaker 4: fix things to home alone parodies just okay, risky business
- 48:53Speaker 4: parodies parodies something something.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Because the joke didn't even make sense. Now I'm going
- 49:02Speaker 1: to take a bath and vegetables and get with no TV.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, and what's the punchline?
- 49:07Speaker 4: Well, well, I get it.
- 49:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's so unlike Bart. It's like, but it's been
- 49:12Speaker 1: behaving like what I don't get it. I get what
- 49:15Speaker 1: you're going for. That's not funny, it's it's not funny. No,
- 49:20Speaker 1: the family have now been gone for three days and
- 49:22Speaker 1: Bart is cooking twizzlers with so they just they just
- 49:25Speaker 1: left looking for But this story sucks. They just left, Yeah,
- 49:32Speaker 1: didn't call the phone once, just left their ship, didn't
- 49:36Speaker 1: pack anything, didn't pack anything.
- 49:37Speaker 4: It would have been nice to just have a cutaway
- 49:38Speaker 4: shot of them on a plane. And even Homer just
- 49:41Speaker 4: saying maybe we should have called.
- 49:46Speaker 1: That's even pointing out how stupid the story.
- 49:48Speaker 4: Now, I know it's conceding defeat.
- 49:56Speaker 5: Awesome, but I better get going. It's getting My mom's
- 50:00Speaker 5: gonna wake up soon. She gets upset if someone's not
- 50:03Speaker 5: there to tell her where she is. Typical mom.
- 50:07Speaker 2: You sure you don't want to stay and have a sleepover.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I meet sleepover shirts.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Huh huh.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Listen, Bart, If I don't get home soon, there won't
- 50:15Speaker 2: be time for my mom to give me a hug,
- 50:17Speaker 2: my dad to read me a story, and both of
- 50:19Speaker 2: them to sing me a song till I gently fall asleep. Anyway,
- 50:24Speaker 2: you have fun by yourself. Ah, there's no moon tonight,
- 50:28Speaker 2: real Boogymanweather.
- 50:31Speaker 1: And the family now out looking in the field. Lisa's
- 50:33Speaker 1: sitting back in the cars with the birdlands on the
- 50:35Speaker 1: car and Lisa realizes that it's a scarlet tanager and
- 50:39Speaker 1: it is migrating to match a pitch you and she says,
- 50:41Speaker 1: he sees a chip, and she goes, you know what,
- 50:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to end this. I'm going to be
- 50:46Speaker 1: selfish and have the family drive me to match your
- 50:48Speaker 1: pitche Noh yeah, what if the birds decided not to
- 50:52Speaker 1: go there? Oh dear, we're almost there, barn, get in bed, night,
- 51:01Speaker 1: scary day, awesome, night, scary day, awesome. Okay, then the
- 51:08Speaker 1: family now match picture. They're just driven there, you know,
- 51:12Speaker 1: just decided to just drive there, follow this bird. Marge
- 51:15Speaker 1: falls asleep on the statue and she has the vision
- 51:17Speaker 1: here of the statue telling her you need to protect
- 51:20Speaker 1: what she said, I need to protect it from himself.
- 51:21Speaker 1: He's basically making her realize, no, he needs to learn
- 51:24Speaker 1: to survive on his own. Be there for him, but
- 51:26Speaker 1: let him learn as well.
- 51:27Speaker 4: It's a bit about Walls in there, which shows the
- 51:29Speaker 4: unified theory or four finger discount is alive and well,
- 51:32Speaker 4: because what do we talk about recently on going down
- 51:34Speaker 4: South Park?
- 51:35Speaker 1: We talked about the goddamn Mongolians breaking down the wall.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Don't do the voice, Jesus, I think it's worse.
- 51:47Speaker 4: If I say fucking Mongolians in my voice. I don't
- 51:50Speaker 4: know onlyway Marge's realizes I have been overprotective.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I've learned something today, and she realized she can't always
- 51:59Speaker 1: be there for Bart, but she can, you know, be
- 52:01Speaker 1: there sometimes when he needs her.
- 52:04Speaker 2: So I can't always be.
- 52:05Speaker 4: There for Bart.
- 52:06Speaker 2: He's got to learn to take care of.
- 52:08Speaker 4: Himself the computer, say's Bart standing at the computer? Oh,
- 52:11Speaker 4: I hear is a stupid bird with a tracking chip
- 52:14Speaker 4: on its leg. It doesn't end up.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I think it's time for us to go home, and
- 52:22Speaker 1: then they just drive home again. How long did it
- 52:25Speaker 1: taken the drive there? I'm assuming it's taking all the
- 52:27Speaker 1: same time to drive home.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Should I do some Google maps between hell?
- 52:30Speaker 1: Would to actually take the drive from America USA to
- 52:35Speaker 1: MATCHU Pitchew drive.
- 52:37Speaker 4: I'm going to say eight hours? Well, they're going three
- 52:41Speaker 4: days at least. I'm going to say twenty four hours.
- 52:45Speaker 1: You can't drive to match a pitch, you but you
- 52:47Speaker 1: can drive to Alan tayum Tambo in the Sacred Valley
- 52:51Speaker 1: of the Incas. Okay, the most common way to get
- 52:53Speaker 1: to match a pitchy from the United States is to
- 52:54Speaker 1: fly into Lima, Peru and then take a one hour
- 52:57Speaker 1: and fifteen flight to Cosco. So kind The first thing
- 53:01Speaker 1: you should do if you're writing a story about the
- 53:03Speaker 1: family driving a Magic Pictures Is this actually possible?
- 53:06Speaker 4: How do you get to march you pitchure? Yes, there
- 53:09Speaker 4: you go. I don't know.
- 53:14Speaker 1: What did you call again? Someone peg in a inshaum
- 53:18Speaker 1: The dead.
- 53:18Speaker 4: An exercise in unfulfilled potential. That's what this story is.
- 53:25Speaker 4: So the episode the Show and the Dead on the
- 53:26Speaker 4: Movie Guide with Malton and Davis. Yeah, just did a
- 53:29Speaker 4: review of Caer movie. Really for the fourth Finger discount listeners,
- 53:32Speaker 4: we did midnight run. We did indeed a favorite of
- 53:36Speaker 4: Dad's everywhere, but also just people with good taste tune in.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you also the latest one load Whulp Fiction Blues
- 53:42Speaker 1: the Blues brothers all up there. So now they arrive
- 53:44Speaker 1: home though, But actually he didn't know the family was
- 53:46Speaker 1: gone at all, didn't care and then accustomed him coddling
- 53:49Speaker 1: large as legs. They never leave again.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Really did care?
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yes, he really did, but it's just it wasn't it
- 53:54Speaker 1: didn't sinking. It didn't sink enough. It was just, oh no,
- 53:57Speaker 1: he was just pretending. You're trying to act tough and
- 53:59Speaker 1: make it. They turns that Maggie got left fine and
- 54:01Speaker 1: Maggie is.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Being worshiped as god by the machupicians. I don't know.
- 54:08Speaker 1: I almost want to take this story and write my
- 54:10Speaker 1: own episode. I feel like there's a really good Simpsons
- 54:13Speaker 1: episode in this.
- 54:14Speaker 4: We'll maybe do it and then send it as a
- 54:15Speaker 4: spec to to your buddy Matt Selmon. What could be
- 54:19Speaker 4: the twenty twenty four equivalent though, of Bart wanting a phone?
- 54:22Speaker 4: How could he?
- 54:23Speaker 1: He wants to have social media? It needs to be
- 54:26Speaker 1: a device, doesn't it. Yeah, got the social media basically, don't.
- 54:31Speaker 1: But all I want, though, is the plot point of
- 54:34Speaker 1: Bart wants to fit in and Marge is holding him back.
- 54:38Speaker 1: We'll find something, yeah, oh yeah, absolutely. Anyway, so lost Verizon,
- 54:42Speaker 1: As he said, a lot of potential here, but they
- 54:44Speaker 1: just it just falls off the wagon quickly, doesn't it.
- 54:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it's sort of yeah, the wagon feels like it's
- 54:52Speaker 4: got like a wheel. That is just I was never
- 54:56Speaker 4: bored watching it, but I was just watched this going.
- 54:58Speaker 4: What is the point of this. I think anytime you're
- 55:01Speaker 4: watching something that was going when you when you're actively
- 55:04Speaker 4: fixing it as you're watching it, that's a that's a
- 55:06Speaker 4: sign that something is not right. What do we learn bomb?
- 55:10Speaker 4: What did you learn for the episode that? What did
- 55:12Speaker 4: I learn from the episode? Uh?
- 55:14Speaker 1: What did I learn? I haven't written anything.
- 55:18Speaker 4: Negotiate for more than one dollar return fee per ball?
- 55:22Speaker 4: Particularly those balls got five bucks a lot of money. Yeah,
- 55:25Speaker 4: I'd ask for at least two fifty. I'd probably go two. Okay,
- 55:30Speaker 4: Well see, and that's why you get more business.
- 55:34Speaker 1: And guys dropping pants for food. Well, I learned that
- 55:42Speaker 1: Everybody Poops was an actual movie. I didn't realize this
- 55:45Speaker 1: a book or a movie, actual book. What's what's the
- 55:47Speaker 1: what's the plot of Everybody Poops?
- 55:49Speaker 5: Well?
- 55:49Speaker 4: I think it's more like it's a very children in
- 55:52Speaker 4: your book. It's like, you know, maybe a kid is
- 55:55Speaker 4: like having trouble getting on the potty or something that's like, well,
- 55:57Speaker 4: you're just like, you know, the elephant or the gorilla
- 56:00Speaker 4: or the cow. Everybody poops.
- 56:02Speaker 1: So the book tells children that all animals defecate and
- 56:05Speaker 1: that they have always done.
- 56:06Speaker 4: So.
- 56:07Speaker 1: The book is intended to relieve shame and embarrassment around
- 56:10Speaker 1: the act of defecating by explaining to children that it
- 56:13Speaker 1: is a natural part of life. The book has also
- 56:15Speaker 1: been translated into Spanish and tie. Okay, then everybody poops.
- 56:23Speaker 4: From forward, your names will be okay. Then yes, the
- 56:27Speaker 4: guy dave us new name challenge, current leader board. On
- 56:29Speaker 4: the current leader board. Yeah, by all means.
- 56:32Speaker 1: The round one. We got three points to Yeered, two
- 56:36Speaker 1: points to Chris Clark, and one point to Zach Would
- 56:39Speaker 1: aka Liigamus.
- 56:40Speaker 4: What does ligmas mean? That's just his wrestling name. Okay.
- 56:44Speaker 4: One point goes to Big Mother, not big brother, but
- 56:48Speaker 4: Big Mother.
- 56:49Speaker 1: I really like this pretty clever that title not bad.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Oh gosh, darn it, you've blew it. You're really a
- 56:56Speaker 1: bit I did did shame, shame for shame.
- 57:01Speaker 4: My apologies to clever Car. But I and I'm guessing
- 57:04Speaker 4: it's one one point, Yeah, well, don't clever car. No point.
- 57:06Speaker 4: Two points goes to Barty. Don't lose that number.
- 57:10Speaker 1: That's the man with no fingers. It's Steve Roberts from
- 57:12Speaker 1: the factory. Doesn't work in the factory anymore.
- 57:15Speaker 4: Because he's got no fingers. On Zoom calls two boys
- 57:19Speaker 4: to Steve Roberts. Well done, Steve Roberts, three points, goes
- 57:23Speaker 4: to dial Hard, Dial Hard.
- 57:27Speaker 1: He mis jerming, Oh my gosh, we know you don't.
- 57:32Speaker 1: We don't get you going blind, he tell us every time,
- 57:34Speaker 1: trust me, I promise you listeners. I send guy names.
- 57:38Speaker 1: He doesn't check the post. He posts it and leaves
- 57:40Speaker 1: it in the Patreon group. I gathered all the names
- 57:42Speaker 1: I send him through to him out of order as well,
- 57:44Speaker 1: so he can't sort of even try and match him up.
- 57:47Speaker 1: And boom, he has picked Jared.
- 57:49Speaker 4: And now it's time to reveal the deep dark secret.
- 57:54Speaker 4: I am Jared.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Scam the whole time.
- 57:58Speaker 4: No, no, his name is. And he's got three points again.
- 58:01Speaker 1: He does a show just so he can get free
- 58:03Speaker 1: access to his own shows.
- 58:05Speaker 4: It's a perfect crime name. He's Jared. He's on six points.
- 58:09Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, well done, Jared.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Jay hawks put anything in this week?
- 58:13Speaker 4: Did he have a look like I said, I don't know,
- 58:15Speaker 4: I don't I don't look at.
- 58:16Speaker 1: The name, but I just call him phlip Jay Hawkins.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Maybe we've just upset him so much. He's like, I'm
- 58:19Speaker 1: never gonna be I'm never gonna get that Jay back.
- 58:21Speaker 4: I'm just gonna go live my life be Phil Hawkins.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Maybe he realized we're doing seasons, the season twenty.
- 58:26Speaker 4: Now, I think they're gonna be talking about anything but
- 58:29Speaker 4: the show.
- 58:31Speaker 1: All right, So that's it. Six points to Jared Hornby.
- 58:36Speaker 1: He's in first position. Second position is Steve Roberts and
- 58:39Speaker 1: Chris Clap both on two and Zach Would, Akay Ligmus
- 58:42Speaker 1: and Clever Kyle Muldoon both on one point each in
- 58:45Speaker 1: third position.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Well done, folks, keep sending those new name Indeed, if
- 58:50Speaker 4: your name is not Jared, what a lord?
- 58:53Speaker 1: Now let's end the show with what a Lord?
- 58:55Speaker 4: Oh yes, yeah, we were talking about this earlier and
- 58:57Speaker 4: we'll talk about it. Nice to save it the last
- 58:59Speaker 4: and you're gonna posse I guess so. Yeah. I think
- 59:02Speaker 4: Jared thought that the you know, racking up another three
- 59:05Speaker 4: points of the new name challenge was pretty positive. But
- 59:08Speaker 4: I sent Dando a small bit of footage. It was
- 59:12Speaker 4: a TikTok that was put on Twitter. Because I'm not
- 59:15Speaker 4: on TikTok because I'm old, but I like this very much.
- 59:18Speaker 4: This was a young man. I think it was one
- 59:20Speaker 4: of the premieres. I've Gladiator too now in cinemas. He
- 59:24Speaker 4: got hold of Denzel Washington, and this young man said, look,
- 59:27Speaker 4: I make content online. I really want to be but
- 59:29Speaker 4: I want to be an actor. Is there anything you'd recommended?
- 59:32Speaker 4: Denzel gave him some very good advice. He said, well,
- 59:36Speaker 4: first of all, you can't learn to act by yourself.
- 59:37Speaker 4: You need to be in a group. Acting, as I've
- 59:39Speaker 4: always said, is a team sport. You know, find a
- 59:41Speaker 4: small theater. F find any theater and be part of
- 59:44Speaker 4: the ensemble. Be around people, be around actors. You learn
- 59:47Speaker 4: by acting and reacting with other people. Then he closes
- 59:49Speaker 4: out by saying, I'll see it work. Fuck I love that.
- 59:54Speaker 4: I mean, that's that's exactly what you want to hear.
- 59:56Speaker 4: I mean, it's not Denzel saying this is wisdom from
- 59:58Speaker 4: on high. It's like, I'll see on the job. We're
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: both workers. Fucking loved it. What a Man? What a Lord?
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: And that is, guys, what a Lord? The first everone
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: the what a Lord Award. Let's have a we'll keep
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: it a little note or the little Tali is the first
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: of a what a Lord?
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: Was Denzel? So now Denzel see it work?
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Denzel Washington What a Lord Award.
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Then by the end of the season, whoever will pull
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: the name out of that, whoever wins the water Lord
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: Award gets I don't know what's hope. You laid the show,
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: get a free work, siege work. If you have interviewed Denzel,
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: never have, I'd be awfully intimidated. Yeah, you reckon? Oh yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: we just likes to fuck with people. Sometimes, doesn't he
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: sometimes Yeah, sometimes don't. Yeah.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: He says he's retiring soon. I think there two more

- 1:01:30Speaker 4: runs a foul of you know, corrupt cops and drug
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: deals and all that and just fucks everybody up. And
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: it was yeah, basically like an Equalizer movie. It was fantastic,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: really good movie. Dominique. Dominique was it. I don't think
- 1:01:41Speaker 4: it's on manly streaming platforms. You might have to it's
