- 0:13SPEAKER_02: Tell all the world about Jesus.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: He said, if you confess me before man, one day I'll confess you before my father.
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: If you deny me before men, one day I'll deny you before my father.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: And it is offensive because Jesus said, The world hates me because I reveal to the world that their deeds are evil.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Nobody wants that, right?
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: And he is uh Reverend Sylvester McIntosh.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: And welcome to the show.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I gotta get the mic a little closer to you, or you lean in if you would.
- 0:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's good.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: So uh how are you doing, sir?
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: I am doing very well this morning.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Well, it's good to see you always.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Well, it's good to wake up in the morning.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: But uh for years and years we would always have pleasantries of hello when you worked at the post office.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: That is correct.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: I knew nothing about you.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Uh didn't know you were a war hero, didn't know you were a believer in Jesus.
- 1:06SPEAKER_02: So we would always just be pleasant.
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: But after you retired, somehow we bumped into each other and uh found out that uh you're a co-believer in the Lord.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: And you've had miraculous encounters with him.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: You have the power.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: Now, um, is is his volume enough over there?
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: Is that going good?
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's going good.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Okay, good.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: Um, so uh I know that your uh you you uh later your story was sort of hidden for a while.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: You I mean, people didn't know about it.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: And that the my st what I've heard is that you somebody was saying there's someone who lives around here.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: We don't know who he is, but he got shot in the lung and he went in and saved five other men, and you happened to be in the audience, and you stood up and said, I am that man.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Uh partially it went that way.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: We were at a reunion up in uh Melabar, not Melabar, excuse me, up into uh our galley area at a reunion, and we had not some of my friends I hadn't seen in 25 years.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And uh we were talking, so the guy was telling about uh this guy that uh he knew who had uh gotten shot in uh such things as that.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And I said, Well, this guy was shot in your chest, and we don't remember any guys that were from Texas in California.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And I started laughing because I said, You guys are talking about me, and they said, It was you, and I showed them the one that I had in my chest and they recognized But my story goes back many years ago.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: I was brought up in the church in St.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Matthew Baptist Church in Nebasco.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: My parents believed in the Bible, although they wasn't Christians at the time, but they made sure I went to church.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: And the thing about it, I was training the word of God.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: They were not Christians, but they said church going doors like a lot of people are today.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: They went to church and all, they made sure I went to church.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: And the Bible said train up a child in the way that he should go, and when he did so, they will not depart from it.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: Well, it's good you didn't differentiate that because you're going to church and sitting in a pew.
- 4:16SPEAKER_02: It's like you can go stand in a garage.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: It doesn't make you a car.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: And we've got chaff, you know, whether it's Catholic, whether it's Protestant, whether it's uh non-denominational, you've got you've got chaff and you got wheat in every church service.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: We have to go back further than that, right?
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: We we look at each other and we talk about the different religions.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Everybody trying to get behaven.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I don't care what religion you call it, but when it comes to salvation, you have to have a relationship with God.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: God will lead and guide us.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: We don't lead and guide ourselves.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: No.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: Jesus made it very clear what he said to me, he said, I chose you, you did not choose me.
- 5:00unknown: That is true.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: And with that, with the mind of standing you wake up and say, Lord, which way should I go to what should I do today?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: He will lead us and guide us into the way that we're gonna be able to do it.
- 5:11SPEAKER_02: I wonder I wonder why.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: Sometimes I ask him, I say, Who am I?
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: you know.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, I was living in the ghetto of Troy, New York,$150 a month apartment, a struggling songwriter, and I was 29 years of age.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: Why did he I drive by that, I drive by that place sometimes.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: I go, you visited me there.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: The king of glory visited me in that little, you know, horrible little brick building.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: And uh, and who am I?
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: I uh even now I go, who am I that you pay?
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, I could go on and I could tell you miracle encounters that I have had, but it would be I I I should boast of the Lord, but I don't like to share a lot of things because people mock you or they don't believe in you.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: And it's just cast you not your pearls before swine, right?
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Well, I've learned not to even worry about that.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Knowing who you are in Christ makes the difference.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: I tell my story all the time.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: What idiot to jump on three grenades in Vietnam, and each one of them didn't go off.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: That was you?
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: That was three grenades, three different grenades, three different grenades.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: And they didn't go off.
- 6:19unknown: They did not go on.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: Did you have a death wish?
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: No, that's amazing.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: No, so God saved you, he spared you three times.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Oh my word.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: You never told me that part of the story.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: A lot of things I did not tell.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I stepped on a bouncing petty and it did not go off.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: That didn't happen either.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: One of the things I've learned when you have backslidden, God says he's married to the backslider.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: You said that yeah, what?
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: He's married to the married to the backslider.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: That's one who had known God and straight away from God.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: Well, you know the story about that prophet.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: He was married to this woman who was a whore.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: And uh he married her, and then they had children, and then later on she wanders back downtown and becomes a whore, prostitute again, whatever.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: And then when she's old and wrinkled up, God says, Go back and get your wife.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: As you are married to your wife, so I am married to Israel.
- 7:34unknown: That's it.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: And I will forgive the sins.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Men of the ones that who set up these obstacles about what we have a falling out, it's over with.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: God did not operate in that manner.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: I can carry you further in that.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: As a marine, I start drinking a gallon of liquor a day, not getting drunk, smoking four packs of cigarettes a day.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: Uh but God took all that out of me.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: And yet what what was the experience?
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: Let's go back now to your y your youth.
- 8:08SPEAKER_02: Because there was something miraculous that happened to you when you were young, right?
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: That converted you to Jesus?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Well, I like I say, as a child, I uh even earlier than that.
- 8:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: When you're very young, you don't have an understanding of things.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: God always dealt with me.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Even eight, nine years old, when I did not understand it.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I would always have some told me, not knowing who Jesus was, not to do this and not to do that.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: My first encounter really got to get a twelve years old.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: My parents had to say, Listen, you're of age now.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: We will not force you to go to church.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: You can decide when you want to go to church.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: So this particular Sunday morning I decided I was going with the boys to play baseball.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: Normally I always wear shoes.
- 9:00SPEAKER_00: This particular morning I decided not to wear shoes.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: So I was the fastest runner in my little town and everybody wanted me on their team.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: So I get up and hit the baseball.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: Uh and I can say now it was God who was talking.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: I said, put the bat down and go to church.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: I looked at the little catcher back there.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: I said, What did you say, man?
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: He said, Man, I ain't said nothing to you.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I said, Yes, you did.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: He said, No, I didn't.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: So again, I swing the bat and the ball come in again and and uh it repeats itself.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Uh put the bat down and go to church.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: I said, Man, you just said it again.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: He said, Man, you hearing things.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: I have not said anything to you.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: So, anyhow, I hit the ball, take off the first base.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Up under the dirt, there's a bottle, broken bottle.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And I was running across it splitting my foot.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: He said, Now you would go home.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: So my next door next the neighbor next to the nation, um, he had grabbed up spider webs and all that.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: And now I gotta walk home on that, not knowing you don't walk with dirt.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: See, if you'd obeyed the voice, you wouldn't have been a drug.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Put down the bat and go to church.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: That's what was told to me.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: So when I got home, I still didn't understand it.
- 10:28unknown: Okay.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Uh I was a teenager.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: Never forget that.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: And we that particular summer revival went on.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: Revival, you said?
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: A revival going on in our town.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: Now remember I'm back.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Every the bat uh half of the church went down to the Pentecostal church.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: They switched church, they got saved.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: They got an understanding of God.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: I knew the Bible, but I didn't know the relationship that I had with God.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: So I followed my girlfriend, which is now fifty-nine years later, my wife.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Followed her down there, and the Holy Ghost uh convicted me.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Got saved.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: And within months, I was preaching the gospel.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Like most kids, you know, we go back and do things we had no good.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: I left the church.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: I after graduation went in the Marine Corps.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: I know my story.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Even up until the time I got shot and went back at the kill zone.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he was shot in the lung.
- 11:36SPEAKER_02: You were shot in the lung, ladies and gentlemen.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: And uh you went back and saved how many men?
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: Three.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: Three men.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: Even though you were bleeding profusely, having been shot in the lung.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: I did not know it, never looked down.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: All I knew it was a sting that went through me, and I kept doing what until I collapsed.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: And it could have killed you.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: It was very close to killing you, right?
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: What a mighty god, we sir.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: What a mighty god, we sir.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: What a mighty god, we sir.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: And I can go over and tell you all the bad one of my boys.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: That little baby, she said that.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Oh, thing about having a really god.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: And the same thing with people who worry about word.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: You who belong to him.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: You don't have to worry, I will take care of you.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: I will take care of them.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Anything is annoying, you have a relationship.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: If you don't have that relationship, you're gonna go through something.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: That's why I tell people I say, Yeah, Jesus said, Ye must be born again.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: And they say, Well, I don't know.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Well, if you don't know, then I say you don't you are not.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: Because when it happens, you know, you know that you know that you know that you know.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: The breath that we breathe belong to God, that's part of his breath, and so when we get that relation, you will find the word of God become alive in you.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: Let me say it that way.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: It said, uh, in the beginning God was the word, and the word was with God.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: God was the word, and the word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and dwell among us.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: So he comes, that spirit comes in to know that that relationship, a thing with us.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: You know, the day that I was born again, I was into Eastern religions and stuff.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: I'm 29 years of age, but all these people are talking about being born again.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: Jesus, all these Jesus freaks.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: You know, I had CEOs and celebrities and all kinds of people, everywhere I went, oh my gosh.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: So anyway, I I get up, I was watching the 700 Club secretly with Pat Robertson and Ben Kinshlow.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: Do you remember them?
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 16:39SPEAKER_02: And Ben and I, before he left this earth, he'd come in here all the time.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: He and I became very, he had a son that was lived in Orlando.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: We became brothers.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: Brothers from another mother.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so uh I got up and I said, you know, I was standing there looking up at the ceiling and said, okay.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: I said, I'm gonna take a chance.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Nothing happens.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: So then I said, I don't know, it must have been God inspired because I said, you know, I'm a I'd be a fool to live my life without you.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: You're the one that breathed breath into me.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: I said, so I said, I believe you died on the cross for my sins, rose from the dead, and I surrender the rest of no one ever taught me this.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: I've never been to one of those services.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: I just said, I surrender the rest of my life to you.
- 17:26SPEAKER_02: That's when I was filled with the Holy Ghost.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: And uh immediately I thought, this is why people do drugs.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Drugs are the counterfeit, this is what they're really looking for, is God.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: And then I sat down in my rocking chair and I said, Well, you're real, you're real.
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: I said, This is what that this is what the black folks are talking about.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: I said, I always, you know, joy, and I always thought joy and happiness were synonyms.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: And I said, This is joy, and I tell you what, he stayed close to me for a long time.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Uh getting high, looking for joy, will not bring it bring you satisfaction for a little while.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: But when it's that high's lifted and all, you got the same problem.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: It doesn't really bring you satisfaction, it brings you uh what is it, what do you call uh protection or numbness?
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: It well, it it numbs you because the problem never goes away.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: No, but when Christ comes into your life, yeah, they give you joy, to give you peace, and if you follow him, he will give you success.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: Let me ask you this.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: So you're I mean, I you know, I mean, if Jesus was standing here, I would say uh Sylvester McIntosh is m more of a man than I am.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, because you you you you you you you you served uh others by joining the military.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: You you jumped on three different uh grenades and God made them so it didn't work.
- 18:53SPEAKER_02: Uh also that mine you stepped on, it didn't work.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: They didn't pull a pin on it for some reason.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: And then you're shot in the lung and you go back in and save three men before you collapse.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: So you're you know, God likes courage.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: He says in the book of Revelation he has no joy in the timid soul.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: It's true, but I wouldn't say I would be more man than you.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: I would never say that.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: I know you wouldn't say that, but God Rick, every one of us has a purpose in life.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we gotta find out what our purpose is and follow that leading.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Between the time we are born and the time we got a die, it's a big bang.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: So we have a purpose for being here.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: My purpose is not your purpose.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Someone else's purpose is different from both of us.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: So we have to follow the lead that God had left.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Like sometimes I say, uh, you know, why didn't I have children?
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: And then I realize, well, if you'd have if I'd had a little life in upstate New York, and this one gal who broke my heart, she, you know, I see I should have gone with her.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: She wanted, she I want to, I went to Africa, she didn't want me to go to Africa, she didn't want she would want to have a family.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: Well, she ended up having a family, and I didn't have the family.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: And so years later, and I go, Yeah, but Rhett, if you had gotten married and worked at Sears and Robux selling refrigerators for$23,000 a year, living out a life I know I would have had happiness, I would have had children, I would have had joy, but you know what?
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: This wouldn't be here, the studio wouldn't be here.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: And your purpose were glad to have that.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: And after she broke my heart, this is a true story, ladies and gentlemen.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: I was at these Jewish people's home that came to know Jesus.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: There are about six of us in the room, and this we're praying, and I was devastated from the heartbreak of this young lady.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Devastated, never been so anyway.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: So this man puts his hand on my shoulders, we're praying.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: He says, God told me you're gonna leave New York State.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: I was in Connecticut in New York.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: You're gonna leave, and you're gonna live in Florida and somewhere outside of Orlando, you're gonna have a radio show.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: Well, I totally forgot about it.
- 20:59SPEAKER_02: Meantime, I went to Africa, did my concert in Chabuk Stadium in downtown Harari in Zimbabwe, and then I went back to America, and then I was invited to fly down to Florida from New York State to sing at Gerald Durskin's Christian Retreat Center, and I did my patriotic concert there.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: And uh then uh when I was done with that, I was walking around licking my wounds, and some Catholic lady who is like 60 or 61, mother of uh nine children, eight that were living, says, Well, why don't you come to Haiti with us and feed the hungry?
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Well, anyway, I end up going to Haiti, coming back, and uh the family says, Well, we're gonna go over in our station wagon across from Sarasota to a place called Vero Beach.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: I said, Where Vero Where?
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Vero Beach.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, come with us, we're gonna have dinner, Jack Baker's lobster channel.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: So we did.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: Then it was months later, could have been a year later, I forget the timing, but I'm driving down.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: I decide to stop in Vero Beach.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: And one thing leads to another.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: I move here on July 4th, 1993.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: On July 4th, 1994, they asked me to sing my patriotic.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Songs at the stadium here for the Dodgers.
- 22:03SPEAKER_02: But I'm a guest on a radio show to promote that.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: Well, after the after July 4th, I get a phone call.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Can you please come down to our station?
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: And I come down to the station and he said, Were you on our radio station a few days ago?
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: I said, Yeah, is there a problem?
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: And he goes, Well, no.
- 22:21SPEAKER_02: He said, We have a boring radio show and you have personality.
- 22:24SPEAKER_02: Would you like to be in the radio business?
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: And started off at$50 a week, co-hosting a little show.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: That ended.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: And then Jack Ehrman, a Jewish man up in Sebastian, Florida, says, I want you to do your show.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: I'll pay for the airtime up here in Sebastian at my restaurant.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: And I did that.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: And then after about nine months, he said, Now I'm going to wean you off of me.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: I'm only going to pay one week a month.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: You've got to go get advertisers.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: And that's what I did.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: And that's how I I own my own broadcast, and that's how come I prospered.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: So these are the things that we talk about.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: People don't know.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: They don't take time to request or ask God, what is it I'm supposed to do at life?
- 23:06SPEAKER_00: We sit out, try to sit out and go.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: And it doesn't work.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: God will allow us to make those.
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: I remember when I got married, I said I was by the time I went to have a time I got 31.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: We love our daughter.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: We take care of and we do everything.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Don't let something like that when you have that relation.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: I uh I I some I could have been a million.
- 24:41SPEAKER_00: But I'm not because I didn't want the money.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: I said now Lord, if money is gonna cause me to lose faith.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: I don't want it.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: No way.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: I was having a pass for that.
- 24:59SPEAKER_00: I was leaving the post office.
- 25:16SPEAKER_00: I want you to take an eighth time.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: I'll look around.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: No way.
- 25:36SPEAKER_00: I could have easily got a remake five years later.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: TV show.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: Burt Reynolds.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: He bought it.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: He came down and put the aperture creator there.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: Those ten acres that I did not buy for twenty thousand dollars.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: Sold for a million dollars an acre.
- 26:11SPEAKER_02: A million an acre?
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: So you would have had ten million dollars.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: No.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I'd have had forty million dollars.
- 26:18SPEAKER_02: Why forty?
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Because five years after that I saw the realtor, she said, Mr.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Max, those acres, which was ten.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: How many lots are in acre?
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I said, four.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: See, the lots are now selling for a million dollars a lot.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: So that would have been 40 million dollars.
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Well, when I got here to Woba Vero up in Sebastian, the lots were selling for$4,000 each for a house.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: Now they're like uh$400,000 for the lot.
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: 1965.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: I left to go to Vietnam.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: You're talking about John's Island and Barry Island and all you know how much a lot sold for over there?
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: How much?
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Five hundred dollars.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: That's amazing.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: I came back nineteen sixty-eight.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: I helped build the bridge and I helped put an old bridge down in one ass.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: I worked over on John's Island.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: You know how much the most expensive house were then?
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Fifty thousand dollars.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: You can't even buy a lot for that.
- 27:18SPEAKER_02: No, no way.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: So these are the type of things that uh we see and and we have to live the perfect.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: Well, I ran into a Jewish doctor when I was up in Vermont this summer.
- 27:30SPEAKER_02: Uh uh and a nice guy.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: We we had a great conversation, and uh he was a dermatologist working something on my face there.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: And uh we he was 78 years of age.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: We had had a great time talking.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: Well, he was gonna buy a Mickey Mantle baseball card, and it was uh$6,000.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: And so his wife says, I'm not gonna spend six thousand dollars on a piece of cardboard.
- 27:53SPEAKER_02: Well, it's a few years later now, and this summer it's sold for$12.2 million.
- 28:00SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Well, if it's not for you.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: But you know what?
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: Listen, listen.
- 28:04SPEAKER_02: Now, when I was younger, I might have had duplistic feelings, but I can look you right in the eye, man to man, and I can look Jesus in the eye, and he knows it.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: I thank that he I thank him that he's rendered something in me that's made me, you know, you can say things because it's the cool thing to say, well, money's not important to me.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: Sure, money, I want to have money, but I tell you what, I the Bible says the Lord addeth riches without sorrow.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: If you get your money because you want it and God didn't want you to have it, you're gonna have sorrow.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: And just like the Bible says, ill-gotten game grows wings and takes flight.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: So I'm right here now.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Now remember, I was really prospered here all the years you knew me.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: And I was doing better than I ever imagined when I was on secular radio.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: But I got a lot of heat from people saying from John's Island, stop that Jesus stuff, stop talking about Jesus.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: I said, Well, why don't you save that for Sundays?
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: And I said, Well, sir, someday it's gonna be nothing but Sundays, but I didn't mean a smart alcohol, I just said truth that came out of my mouth.
- 29:04SPEAKER_02: And and so now, uh after COVID and everything, I have to work.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: Now, unlike you, I'm not retired.
- 29:11SPEAKER_02: I have to work for a living.
- 29:13SPEAKER_02: But it makes me a better, uh first of all, it gives me purpose.
- 29:17SPEAKER_02: I'm still doing my show.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: I don't believe biblically, I don't believe in retirement.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: I think when you're you're supposed to plow for the kingdom of God to the, you know Well, it's according to what you're retiring from.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: I'm a retired minister, okay, as far as pastoring.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: But I minister every day.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Not only that, I still do evangelism work as far as uh going out of the country, other country, uh preaching the gospel.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: But uh, I don't think you mean for us.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, we get a certain age, it's time for us to turn and train the youth.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: But yes.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: Every church I went to, I trained young ministers in that church.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: So one day I knew I was gonna leave.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: So someone can take it on.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: But some ministers die in the pulpit, and many of them, excuse the expression, kill the church because they're sitting there, they're too old to do it properly.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: What is listen, you're gonna like this.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: What is given is gained, what is kept is lost forever.
- 30:18SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like if you got a billion dollars, and you and I both know billionaires around here, yeah, and you're floating up to heaven on your death, and you go, Oh my word, I could have fed all those hungry people.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: That's like the old saying, who is that uh rap star that die broke?
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: In other words, give it all away while you can't.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: I found out the more I give away, the richer I become.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Well, even if you don't listen, okay, I understand the law of reciprocity, but it's not always about the money.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: It's a way for like, okay, I gave something a week ago, and it was on Thursday.
- 30:53SPEAKER_02: I just saw the pastor on Sunday, and two and let's see, uh two and a half times or a little bit more came in on Friday.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: The guy walks in here.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: That's the way God works.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: Before they even got something, they're paying for it.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: And he became, and someone told the pastor, you know, remember they did that on Thursday?
- 31:14SPEAKER_02: And I said, look what happened.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: And so, but I don't want to be like those, okay, right now, you know, I'd like to, I'm doing this radio show for nothing.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: But in a way, when I was in secular radio and I was doing secular stuff, politics and all that other junk, and I'd make an enormous amount of money.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Now I'm struggling, and it's like, but I know, even though it's hard to keep the faith sometimes, I know that, hey man, and I only say this not to boast, but to boast in the Lord.
- 31:53SPEAKER_02: I'm storing up treasure where moth and rust doth not corrupt.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: I mean, I go down to Port St.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: Louis at Christmas, I go to these big events, and people come running up to me saying they hear my show on WCNO.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: You know, uh uh one man he plays that uh little tiny short black guy, but he plays that big and he's like, I think he's a black Jewish guy or whatever.
- 32:16SPEAKER_02: And uh, oh hey, he just comes up to me like I'm some sort of a celebrity.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: Of course, I'm not a celebrity, but I am I am tickled that somebody enjoys the interviews that I do that much that it ministers to their life.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: That is a privilege.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: Well, this is what God has called us to do uh to minister.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: It's not about us, no, it's all about God, and I tell people this all the time.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: There's no uh although I education wise, I have a doctorate degree and this type of thing, have a master's and a doctor's degree.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: You have that?
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: You have all those things.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: Um, I was professor also with Jacksonville Theological Cemetery, but uh You got that thing too?
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: Oh yes, but it's not for me to brag about.
- 33:06SPEAKER_00: Uh it was only meaning that I got an education and I need to help somebody else.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: And that's the way I see life.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: I no big people come on, you a hero?
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: I said, No, I'm not.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: I'm just a child of God.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I was doing um on a mission.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're only passing through here right there.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: And I I laughed.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: My kids don't like me to say it.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: I said, you know, I'm gonna leave your daddy no start talking about death.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm 80 years old.
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: Are you?
- 33:36SPEAKER_02: I didn't know you were 80.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: What are you I didn't really give it any thought?
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: But that's young around here now, you know.
- 33:41SPEAKER_02: Well, Mr.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Walsh was my best friend.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: Well, he died at 98.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, most of my family members lived to be in the 90s.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:49SPEAKER_00: So you'll be around.
- 33:50SPEAKER_02: You're gonna be bothering me for a while.
- 33:52SPEAKER_02: You're only 80?
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: You're a youngster.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: But the main thing about it, even with that, I don't try to outdo anybody.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: I've never been jealous of what somebody else has.
- 34:04SPEAKER_00: I'm thankful for you know I got a sin.
- 34:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:07SPEAKER_00: They say, how you doing this morning?
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: My saying is uh I'm thankful.
- 34:13SPEAKER_00: God woke me up to thank God for what little I have, and I thank God for that.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: But everything that I need, God give it to me.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: So why should I worry about something somebody else has?
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: I may not have the billionaire house over there, but I got a house.
- 34:32SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: The same thing, three bedrooms, just like the millionaire got a his house is more fashioned, more expensive.
- 34:40SPEAKER_02: Well, I've been in some uh houses over there.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: I was at the former uh what this guy was uh the former baseball commissioner something.
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: And I'm interviewing him at his big mansion over there, and I don't know.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: He was okay, you know.
- 34:54SPEAKER_02: But uh I remember I went into the bathroom and I said, I can't wait to leave this house.
- 34:59SPEAKER_02: I just feel like it's a it's a living uh tomb or something.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: I said, I said, I want to get back to my little office here, my little tiny modest studio and see my friends that are here and just do that, you know.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: I just uh I don't care how big the house is, it's not always a home.
- 35:14SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I I don't A home is made.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Also, like I've had the privilege of being backstage with famous people.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: I always felt kind of insecure.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: I didn't like it.
- 35:24SPEAKER_02: It's like, is this all there is?
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: You know, when you go back there and they don't have the women don't have the makeup on, you know what I'm saying?
- 35:31SPEAKER_02: You see the real thing.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you see the real thing in them.
- 35:34SPEAKER_02: You you know, people are practicing their dance lessons again.
- 35:37SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like I, you know, I was on I was set to be uh to be signed to Liberty Records and Columbia Records.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: I was first place vocalist in Assyria's Music City Song Festival.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: Well, this man put up a half a million bucks, it doesn't really matter the whole story.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: Anyway, it all fell apart.
- 35:52SPEAKER_02: So finally I left New York, then I left Nashville and I came here.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: I said, I don't want to be 65 years of age going, would you like to buy my song for$5,000?
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: And so I came here anyway.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: So uh now later in life, I realize, you know, you gotta watch out because Emerson said we forged the chains that bind us.
- 36:14SPEAKER_02: You know, look at Bob Dylan.
- 36:15SPEAKER_02: Now I love Bob Dylan, I love his music, he's been a great influence, he's been my professor, but he's so into it now.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: He has that never-ending tour.
- 36:24SPEAKER_02: So he woke up somewhere this morning, no doubt, with his Lear Jet or whatever, but you know, he's waking up in Hong Kong going, Am I in Hong Kong?
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: This motel room looks like it's in in LA.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: Oh no, I'm not in LA, I'm in Hong Kong.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: And tomorrow, you know, I've done, I don't know about you, but I've traveled and I go, I can only take a few nights staying at a motel.
- 36:42SPEAKER_02: And I think, look at here.
- 36:44SPEAKER_02: I uh I'd rather be a part of the community.
- 36:47SPEAKER_02: I know you.
- 36:48SPEAKER_02: I can call you on the phone.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: I called you this morning on a whim.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Boom.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Hey, can you come down here?
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: My greatest day was waking up in Africa.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: I woke up that morning things that we take for granted.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 37:02SPEAKER_00: I heard the roosters wake me up as we do here.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: I walked outside of my hotel to control the animals.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: Remember how the old Taz were elephant coming out of the cave and walking through the grass, and went into the cave with the uh magic band and all that.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: I began to see life at his guy.
- 37:37SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, I'm astounded by it all the time.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: Okay, you look at a ladybug.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: Just a ladybug.
- 37:43SPEAKER_02: The cutest little things.
- 37:45SPEAKER_02: It looks like something hand painted.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: Or um uh recently the Lord gave me a dream about this bird, some kind of a pea hen or pee not a peacock, but uh a what do you call pigeon?
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: That's the word that came to me.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: And then I uh I I I described what I dreamt of to ChatGPT and the exact bird, all these beautiful iridescent colors, and it almost looks like its back is wet or greasy.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: And it's it's it's it found the exact same thing.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: Chat GPT says, it sounds like this is it.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: And I said, Oh my god, send me a photograph.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: That's the exact same thing I saw in this vision.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: And uh I tell you what, I just I'm I don't know.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: It's uh you know, the Bible says, I has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered the heart of man the things which God prepared for those who who love him.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: And we worried about silver and gold and that stuff here.
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: I don't have to have that kind of thing.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Uh part of our living, but to realize that after from the body presentation.
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: I'll I I will tell you this, and I don't mean to boast, and if I lose my my what do you call my reward for this, I don't care.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: So there was a nurse at a not a nurse, a um waitress at a restaurant, pretty famous restaurant here in town, out west.
- 39:10SPEAKER_02: And it's Christmas time, and I could tell she was didn't have much, you know.
- 39:14SPEAKER_02: So I I gave her something, you know.
- 39:17SPEAKER_02: It's considerable enough to help her, you know.
- 39:19SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: But uh anyway, so she started crying.
- 39:23SPEAKER_02: Well, and I started crying.
- 39:24SPEAKER_02: So I go out back to my car, I'm out in my car, and I got tears in my eyes.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: I said, Oh, thank you, Lord, that I could do that.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: Thank you that I had the money to give to her.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: And then I I did not hear an audible voice at this time, though.
- 39:36SPEAKER_02: Like you, I have heard an audible voice, but I felt this unction strong.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: Said, give it away now, because where you're going, they don't need your money or gold.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: I thought, yeah, this is one little window of opportunity we have.
- 39:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what is given is gained, what is kept is lost forever.
- 39:56SPEAKER_02: If you have knowledge and you don't give that to the youngsters who are running your church, you're gonna die with all those secrets within you.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: And if you have money, give it away.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: Man, man, it's give it to the kingdom of God.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: That's so selfish.
- 40:10SPEAKER_00: We think it's about us, whether it's not.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: And our giving away whether it's uh intellect or whether it's money or advice.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: Are you gonna be remembered when you leave here?
- 40:27SPEAKER_00: No.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: But if you leave a legacy in doing whatever you are doing in life, that's your blessing.
- 40:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, maybe maybe there's a reason why some people like you know, I went from being paid to no pay for this.
- 40:44unknown: Yeah.
- 40:45SPEAKER_02: But it's my pleasure and my privilege to do this.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Now, of course, it'd be nice if somebody listened to this broadcast said one I I don't want to be like those people on TV asking and begging for money.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna do it.
- 40:57SPEAKER_02: Now, if the Lord told me specifically to do it, I suppose I would, but when I see, I just saw some lady there, she's a minister, and she was saying uh on this video, oh, the Lord says we need$100,000 right now that you know uh ten people can give me$10,000 each.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: I thought, you're saying that in the middle of a service?
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: I said, mm-mm, not in my father's house.
- 41:23SPEAKER_02: You know, stop it with the money, stop it with the money, everybody.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: Stop it.
- 41:28SPEAKER_00: I have gone to your point coming.
- 41:35SPEAKER_00: When God tells you to do something that I had to take out you saying a thousand, you know better than I do what is a shit right here.
- 42:32SPEAKER_00: I would say mine no one.
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: Okay, God This would have been over forty years ago.
- 42:50SPEAKER_00: I gave it to the ministry winter.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: God said he would take the rich unlawfully, I'll take it from you and give it to where it's needed.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: So with that worship God is what matters.
- 43:13SPEAKER_02: Well, if he tells you to do something, you do it.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: You do it.
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: But sometimes do you ever wonder why he picked you?
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: I know I ask, I go I don't question God.
- 43:26SPEAKER_02: Do you think that you're a good man?
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't know how good I am.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: Jesus took us back on us.
- 43:37SPEAKER_02: That's Jesus.
- 43:38SPEAKER_02: Even they said, Jesus, you're they said, Jesus, you're a good man.
- 43:40SPEAKER_02: He says, say it again.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: He said what?
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: He told us, he said, Why call it thou me good?
- 43:47SPEAKER_00: There's only one father that's good.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: So it lets me know that uh we're in a corrupt world and we're part of that corruption.
- 43:56SPEAKER_00: But our main thing is the whole relationship.
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: You know what I what you and I both had encounters of the uh third and fourth kind with Jesus, but I have not, he has thus far hidden his face.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: I may see things, feel things, or hear things, but I've yet to see his face.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 44:25SPEAKER_02: No, hold on.
- 44:26SPEAKER_02: So anyway, the thing is I say, uh I'll let's say I'm uh right now I go home and I pray tonight.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: I say, I want to see you, Lord, I want to see you.
- 44:32SPEAKER_02: I immediately go, no, no, no, I don't.
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: You know why?
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: Right now, if um, okay, so let's say uh let's say I didn't know you and I stole from you.
- 44:44SPEAKER_02: But let's say now in our friendship, I know you.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: Do you think I want to steal from my friend?
- 44:51SPEAKER_02: Mackin Reverend Macintosh?
- 44:54SPEAKER_02: No, I mean I know you.
- 44:57SPEAKER_02: So if I see Jesus, I never want Jesus to, and this is a prayer right now.
- 45:01SPEAKER_02: I hope it is for you folks.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: So I never want him to be common.
- 45:06SPEAKER_02: He deserves my adulation, my admiration.
- 45:10SPEAKER_02: I should be flat on my face.
- 45:12SPEAKER_02: Matter of fact, right now I can tell you this.
- 45:14SPEAKER_02: If I was flat on my face praying and Jesus came, and all of a sudden I see his feet, I'm not gonna look up.
- 45:19SPEAKER_02: Uh-uh.
- 45:20SPEAKER_02: Just like Peter said, I'm not worthy.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: Well, not only depart from me.
- 45:25SPEAKER_00: You have to remember that when Moses was hoping, he said he had to put his hand to where only he could see his backside.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: If he looked him in the face, he'd automatically die.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I never want to look Jesus in the face until I'm on the earth.
- 45:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 45:44SPEAKER_02: I tell you what, I was with 800 men, and we were praising the Lord.
- 45:48SPEAKER_02: This is probably 35 years ago.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: And this is a marvelous memory.
- 45:53SPEAKER_02: We're all majesty, worship is majesty, whatever we were seeing, you know.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: And uh we're all standing, and I tell you, I don't even know.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: I I don't usually share these things, but uh, why not?
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: I'm getting old, I'll be here, I might as well share them.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna be gone.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: So um, this it was like a beam.
- 46:11SPEAKER_02: You couldn't I could not see it, but it felt like a beam of light.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: This huge thing came down to my heart, and I got my arms up, and it goes, it started to get so pressured.
- 46:22SPEAKER_02: Today, you you know, as an older guy, you'd think you were having a heart attack, and I had to say, stop it, stop it, stop it, I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: His power was so strong, he enters the praise of his people that I had to please stop it, stop it.
- 46:36SPEAKER_00: Have you been in survival where you could feel the other killing?
- 47:03SPEAKER_00: Well, I didn't know no words.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: We must have that relationship in the heart.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: It goes in, it goes through the heart, and then it comes back out through the mouth.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: So if you are one who blaspheme against God, you say But he will determine all that.
- 47:40SPEAKER_02: That's why watch with people that uh say certain things.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: I say you better watch out.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Don't attribute the things of his holiness to uh and Bells a bug or whatever it is, you know.
- 47:52SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah.
- 47:54SPEAKER_02: But anyway, so um well, it's been uh it's been good talking to you again.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: Always.
- 48:01SPEAKER_02: I haven't seen you in a while.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm seeing here you're the one that's out of uh out of fate in there before.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Well, I can't find I I I'm uh I gained some weight over the years, and I just can't take the humidity in the summer.
- 48:16SPEAKER_02: And on top of that, I was born up there, way up north.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: Not in Vermont, but in upstate New York.
- 48:22SPEAKER_02: And so when I get there, you know, I love it down here.
- 48:26SPEAKER_02: I mean, Jesus said to me, you can either choose upstate New York or you can choose Florida.
- 48:30SPEAKER_02: Florida, because I love sunshine.
- 48:33SPEAKER_02: And right now, when winter comes up there, I used to have, I used to get in a depression.
- 48:39SPEAKER_02: It's called the SAD syndrome.
- 48:41SPEAKER_02: And I have to, excuse me, for you, I would have to go into one of those tanning booths.
- 48:47SPEAKER_02: Now you you don't have to do that, you're a black man.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: Oh no, I I come out, Ron.
- 48:54SPEAKER_02: So I go in there, but it wasn't to get to tan.
- 48:57SPEAKER_02: It was because the lights take away that depression because you don't get enough light up there.
- 49:03SPEAKER_02: Do you know that in Hudson Valley, New York, they get uh uh uh 284 days on average of inclement weather?
- 49:11SPEAKER_02: They get snow, sleet, overcast, dark, dismal.
- 49:16SPEAKER_02: Do you know what we get in Vero Beach, Florida?
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: Over 300 days of pure unadulterated sunshine.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: Let me tell you this.
- 49:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:24SPEAKER_00: I've heard all my life.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:26SPEAKER_00: Go back to Africa.
- 49:29SPEAKER_00: Where all of us come from?
- 49:32SPEAKER_00: Well, oh yeah.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: Where was the Garden of Eden at?
- 49:36SPEAKER_02: Somewhere over in that area.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: It was in Egypt.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: Where's Egypt?
- 49:41SPEAKER_00: Africa between the Euphrates and Tigris River.
- 49:45SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: You get a kick at us, yeah.
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: And what our life and scientists now have come up with.
- 49:50SPEAKER_00: You know why you are so pale?
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: When you left, your ancestors left and went to the northern country.
- 49:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, look at it.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: Now, even with me, it's black and black.
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, look at your arm.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:06SPEAKER_02: This pigment where we lifted up his t-shirt, sir.
- 50:09SPEAKER_00: I I will lighten up.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Found out that because my ancestors went south in Africa, where there was sunshine off, we got dark.
- 50:18SPEAKER_00: Now, listen.
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: So God knows what he was doing when he made man.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: Did you ever hear Ancestry.com?
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, I've I've heard it.
- 50:25SPEAKER_02: Guess what I am?
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: I'm part black.
- 50:28SPEAKER_02: I'm black African.
- 50:30SPEAKER_00: Listen, let me tell you something.
- 50:32SPEAKER_02: And I think I may not look like it.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: This is what I'm telling.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: And I was on a plane flying over the Surrari Territory.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: And I questioned God years ago about this.
- 50:46SPEAKER_00: I said, God, why is it?
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: Because he said, I'm a made two Adam and Eve.
- 50:53SPEAKER_00: He said, now you have your father coming from the Bahamas, you see the white people.
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: Going now with the coast, your skin color is white.
- 51:05SPEAKER_00: Go to North Florida.
- 51:07SPEAKER_00: The dirt there is red.
- 51:10SPEAKER_00: Asian, Indian.
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: I went over to Separatism.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: I saw the yellow sand.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: The Chinese and all.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: He said, Now, if you dig in the dirt, see what did I do?
- 51:24SPEAKER_00: I grabbed man from what?
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: The dust.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: From the dust of the earth.
- 51:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: And made the first man.
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: The deeper we dig, the color change.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: You get to the bottom of it, you got mud.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: Black folk.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: So when we sit here and I laugh about it, because even when I was in uh Italy, Italy churches have black Jesus.
- 51:56SPEAKER_02: Because the Italians are black if they get tan.
- 52:00SPEAKER_00: But this is what I'm saying.
- 52:01SPEAKER_00: You got black Jesus.
- 52:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but oh but you'll hold on, but you know Jesus.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: I I've been to Israel.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: Listen.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: He was not a white man and he was not a doctor, he was medium.
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: No.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: Let's take what he said was in the word.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: Nappy hair.
- 52:15SPEAKER_02: Curly hair like a sheep.
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: Had wood a hair like lamb wood.
- 52:20SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 52:20SPEAKER_00: His eyes was red as fire.
- 52:23SPEAKER_00: His feet was like brass.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: Well, I think that's a vision of revelation.
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: No, that well, it's in the word of God.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: That's all I can go by.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: And we can sit there and speculate it all day.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: I don't know what color Jesus is, no more than what I've read in there.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: But when they're coming, he said we're all gonna be like him.
- 52:45SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you this though, Isaiah said he would not be handsome that we should take notice.
- 52:51SPEAKER_02: So can you imagine?
- 52:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, he might have talked like this.
- 52:54SPEAKER_02: I don't know when he was here.
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: Now he that's not his voice now, because I've heard his voice.
- 52:57SPEAKER_02: Have you heard his voice now?
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, I've heard his voice too.
- 53:00SPEAKER_02: And it's a very, very, very nice, very firm.
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: And you just but you're you know, how did we know it was Jesus?
- 53:06SPEAKER_02: Well he said, My sheep know my voice.
- 53:10SPEAKER_00: And not only that, it comes from the heart.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: Can you have a heart of God, you live in here?
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: I still marvel of being chosen.
- 53:21SPEAKER_02: You know, and if somebody's listening to this broadcast on WCNO or on Radio 89.9 FM or uh on YouTube or Facebook, you know, if you feel that you're inspired and you wanna you wanna connect to the living God, uh call out on his name.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: He call call on the name of Jesus and surrender.
- 53:46SPEAKER_02: You were sitting on the throne.
- 53:48SPEAKER_02: You you cannot Are you God or is He God?
- 53:50SPEAKER_00: You cannot play.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: You gotta be sincere.
- 53:55SPEAKER_00: And you hit rock bottom and you cry out to God and sincere about it, God will come in.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: God knows your heart.
- 54:04SPEAKER_00: You can't fool God.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: It might fool me in wreck for a little while, but we'll learn with God He already knows.
- 54:11SPEAKER_00: Uh when I decided I wanted to stop drinking a number of years drinking a gallon of every day, I didn't drink.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: I had a very high uh alcohol.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: And I woke up with a chick in the morning drank every day.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right here.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: I said, I'm cold turkey.
- 54:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'll never smoke again.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: I give him a carton of cigarettes from that day to this.
- 54:51SPEAKER_02: Do you know that people pay like a hundred dollars for a a carton of cigarettes?
- 54:56SPEAKER_02: No, how stupid to spend that money.
- 54:58SPEAKER_00: Well, things uh uh one thing about it, Rick.
- 55:02SPEAKER_00: Uh I had told people when cigarettes got 50 cents a pack, I was not smoking.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: That's what happened.
- 55:09SPEAKER_02: Well, I had major lung surgery that cured me when I was 21.
- 55:13SPEAKER_00: But God took it out of me.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: Not but he doesn't do that with everybody.
- 55:19SPEAKER_02: Like he didn't do that with me.
- 55:21SPEAKER_02: Did you know Mr.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: Al um Al Black, the painter, Highwayman?
- 55:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 55:27SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, I wasn't, you know, he just the Lord told me to go back and interview him one more time.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: I said, I've already had him on so many times.
- 55:34SPEAKER_02: The Lord said, Go down and interview him.
- 55:37SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I go down, Al has me to his house, right?
- 55:40SPEAKER_02: I do this interview and I asked him, he said, he uh he said, uh tell the story again about you in prison.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: He said, Yeah, I got I got uh 12 years in prison.
- 55:48SPEAKER_02: He said, uh, do you know have you ever had crack cocaine?
- 55:51SPEAKER_02: I said, no.
- 55:52SPEAKER_02: He said, it's the worst addiction.
- 55:54SPEAKER_02: It's worse than heroin cigarettes, it's worse than any addiction.
- 55:57SPEAKER_02: And he said, I was addicted to crack cocaine.
- 56:00SPEAKER_02: He said uh Jesus as a light came into his into his cell.
- 56:04SPEAKER_02: And he said, If your Jesus get even brighter, it got so bright or blinded him, he was instantaneously delivered of the crack.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: And I said to him, the last meeting, I said to him, I said, 34 years, have you ever gone back?
- 56:15SPEAKER_02: No, not once.
- 56:17SPEAKER_02: And guess what?
- 56:17SPEAKER_02: God told me to go down there and do that interview.
- 56:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we had it transcribed, it's ready for the magazine, and he died two weeks later.
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that's the way has a way of sending us to place it there.
- 56:29SPEAKER_02: And what a nice I I mean, you know, I don't know what it is.
- 56:33SPEAKER_02: You know, you just you got people, you know, you got them, and then once they're gone, wow, you miss them, you know.
- 56:39SPEAKER_00: But remember this in our lecturing and telling others about Jesus, there's something never gonna they didn't believe Jesus.
- 56:47SPEAKER_00: No, so it's not our job to get away from the case.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: Don't be offended.
- 56:50SPEAKER_00: Our main thing is to do what God has instructed us to do.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: Get the word.
- 56:57SPEAKER_02: And esteem others greater than yourself.
- 57:01SPEAKER_02: Truly.
- 57:02SPEAKER_02: For instance, you know, I interviewed Mike Tyson.
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 57:06SPEAKER_02: So, and believe it or not, he was a humble guy.
- 57:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's he's been through a lot.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: He's very smart.
- 57:12SPEAKER_02: They asked him, I think it was uh Tucker last asked him a year, year and a half ago.
- 57:15SPEAKER_02: He said, Do you ever get offended?
- 57:18SPEAKER_02: Listen to what he said.
- 57:20SPEAKER_02: This takes real wisdom.
- 57:22SPEAKER_02: I said, Do you ever get offended?
- 57:23SPEAKER_02: He's pregnant, pause, and he says, Only when I think I'm somebody.
- 57:29SPEAKER_02: Oh my.
- 57:30SPEAKER_02: I was in a supermarket up in Vermont a few weeks ago, and this lady was acting non-cordial to me.
- 57:36SPEAKER_02: She wasn't particularly nice.
- 57:38SPEAKER_02: And I said, I want these pickles, and uh because they have zero calories, I'm trying to lose weight.
- 57:43SPEAKER_02: And she says, Well, those are$8,000.
- 57:44SPEAKER_02: No, no, they're on sale, half price,$4.
- 57:47SPEAKER_02: And I she starts to go over to the where the pickles are, and she says, and I started to follow her.
- 57:51SPEAKER_02: She said, You don't need to come over here.
- 57:52SPEAKER_02: I'm over the but I what I did, I kept being nice.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: Because you know what?
- 57:59SPEAKER_02: What who am I to be offended?
- 58:01SPEAKER_02: She's no better than me, and I'm no better than her.
- 58:05SPEAKER_02: She's having a tough time, so it's my moment to serve her.
- 58:10SPEAKER_02: And I kept being nice.
- 58:11SPEAKER_02: And by the time she came back to the cast reserve, she knew I wasn't gonna get angry like that.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: You know what happened?
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: She changed her smile.
- 58:20SPEAKER_00: You know, and that's what it takes.
- 58:22SPEAKER_00: It takes two people to argue.
- 58:25SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 58:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:25SPEAKER_00: If somebody goes off on you, just sit there and give them a smile.
- 58:29SPEAKER_00: They don't know what to do after that.
- 58:31SPEAKER_02: You know, when I was with Mike Taish, you know, we got done, we became friends, and he closed his eyes and he prayed the prayer of salvation with me.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 58:39SPEAKER_02: Now, from what I know, he says he's a Muslim or something, but I really hope I bump into him again.
- 58:44SPEAKER_02: You know, I wish I'd got I should have gotten his personal sell.
- 58:47SPEAKER_02: I'll tell you why I didn't.
- 58:48SPEAKER_02: When you meet somebody famous, there's like, you know, everybody wants to be their friends.
- 58:53SPEAKER_02: What are your chances of being fine?
- 58:54SPEAKER_02: I should have gotten his number, though.
- 58:56SPEAKER_00: My thing when you say famous, we make people famous.
- 59:01SPEAKER_00: God never made them famous.
- 59:04SPEAKER_00: Man does it.
- 59:05SPEAKER_02: Bible says the fame of man is fleeting.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: Guy Roseberg.
- 59:12SPEAKER_00: Don Newcomb.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: Mindy Mindy and White.
- 59:20SPEAKER_02: He was the voice of uh the Dodgers.
- 59:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 59:25SPEAKER_00: I grew up with him.
- 59:28SPEAKER_00: But I saw the man.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: I didn't see him as a celebrity, but that's the reason I love it.
- 59:38SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, your hero is not.
- 59:41SPEAKER_00: Oh my hero.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_00: But I don't mean things if I say that wrong.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_00: I've been there.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: You and I both have that in common.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: I I I've been there.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: That prostitute on the street.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_00: I go help her out.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_00: You know why?
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: Because she's somebody's child.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_00: I ain't talking to mother and father, I'm talking about God in heaven.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_00: That's his child.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: He made us all.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: None of us are better than somebody else.

- 1:01:28SPEAKER_02: They had dark skin.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_02: And they were not allowed to sleep in the same quarters with the other white pilots.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_02: Now, how stupid is that?
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_02: But listen to this.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: So the Tuskegee Airmen, I interviewed them on the phone, by the way.

- 1:02:13SPEAKER_02: There's one tall young black man.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_02: I talked to him.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_02: Turns out he's a grandson of one of the Tuskegee airmen.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_02: I said, Would you mind to do an interview?
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: We sat down and we did an interview right there.
