- 3:53Speaker 3: partly cloudy, breezy, highs in the mid eighties. Right now,

- 4:00Speaker 2: of the hour. Hang out. Your morning mindset is on
- 4:04Speaker 2: the way in just minutes. It's when we hear Toby
- 4:07Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning. Take a second to focus

- 4:33Speaker 3: This is the part of the show where we pause
- 4:35Speaker 3: and share a quote to get you into a better headspace,
- 4:38Speaker 3: something to think about as you take on the rest
- 4:40Speaker 3: of the day.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Tony Robbins says, your one decision away from a better day.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Your one decision away from a better day. You see,
- 4:49Speaker 2: Jane starts in a moment and it doesn't send a
- 4:52Speaker 2: calendar invite. It shows up like right now. And it's
- 4:55Speaker 2: important because you don't need to have a perfect plan today.
- 5:00Speaker 2: You don't need to be a brand new version of yourself.
- 5:03Speaker 2: You just need to take a moment where you decide
- 5:07Speaker 2: this is where everything turns around.
- 5:11Speaker 5: You know.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That's kind of the guaranteed human part of all of this.
- 5:13Speaker 2: We've all had that instant something inside that whispers enough
- 5:19Speaker 2: or let's go, and if you're reading for the right time,
- 5:22Speaker 2: this is probably it. So keep that in mind from
- 5:25Speaker 2: Tony Robbins, your one decision away from a better day,
- 5:29Speaker 2: and share that with someone who I need it. You
- 5:31Speaker 2: can find it on Insta, Facebook. All of the things
- 5:33Speaker 2: that Toby and Chilli page at washfm dot com is
- 5:35Speaker 2: where to go if you want to email us something
- 5:37Speaker 2: that's spoken to you in the meantime. Now that you've
- 5:41Speaker 2: got your headset right, let's move forward with Toby and
- 5:44Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Coming up next, there's a big debate on TikTok over
- 5:49Speaker 3: the proper shower direction well and a theory as to
- 5:53Speaker 3: why some people face away from the water.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Yep, we'll get into that. Think about which side you
- 5:59Speaker 2: fail when it comes to your showers, and we'll learn
- 6:02Speaker 2: something new together in minutes. I bet you did not
- 6:05Speaker 2: know that, according to this there's a right way and
- 6:08Speaker 2: a wrong way to take a shower. This is ninety
- 6:11Speaker 2: seven point one wasch FM. Nice to meet you if
- 6:14Speaker 2: we're meeting for the first time. I'm tilby Napo along
- 6:16Speaker 2: with Chiliamar Chili who came up with this right and
- 6:19Speaker 2: wrong way to shower.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Well, it's a Canadian TikTok creator and he sparked this
- 6:24Speaker 3: interesting viral discussion. He claims neurodivergent people like you have
- 6:29Speaker 3: ADHD total sure, they apparently shower the right way by
- 6:33Speaker 3: facing away from the water spray because he says that
- 6:39Speaker 3: contact direct contact with water is overstimulating for some people
- 6:44Speaker 3: who have sensory sensitivity. So I'll ask you, do you
- 6:48Speaker 3: tend to face away from.
- 6:50Speaker 2: The water more?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Because no, no, no, Okay, So this guy doesn't know
- 6:54Speaker 3: what Delly's talking.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I mean, well, I have to remember he's a TikTok
- 6:58Speaker 2: creator and it doesn't look like he's like some neurologists,
- 7:01Speaker 2: but he's not.
- 7:01Speaker 3: He's just sort of making this claim based on I guess,
- 7:04Speaker 3: his own personal experience, right.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I'm I'm fifty to fifty. There are times
- 7:09Speaker 2: when I like to face the water. Then there's times
- 7:11Speaker 2: when I face away from the water. You know, if
- 7:14Speaker 2: I'll need to get the back clean, if I want
- 7:16Speaker 2: to wash the soap off my face, I'm going to
- 7:18Speaker 2: face right into it. But okay, I'll tell you what
- 7:20Speaker 2: for me with the bigger sensitivity issue is is if
- 7:24Speaker 2: the water's cold, I cannot handle cold water in the shower.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Same and then there are times when I don't like
- 7:29Speaker 2: that it's too hot on my face, you know what
- 7:31Speaker 2: I mean. But but I might like it being hot
- 7:33Speaker 2: on my body. It really depends on the moment.
- 7:37Speaker 3: You I don't have ADHD, but I do face away
- 7:41Speaker 3: from the water. Ninety seven of my shower. You do, well,
- 7:47Speaker 3: maybe you're.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Facing away from it. You're having some sort of neurological reaction, Jilly,
- 7:54Speaker 2: Are you having sensory overload in the shower?
- 7:56Speaker 3: Do you feel this way?
- 7:57Speaker 2: What is your Which way is your son face lit?
- 8:00Speaker 3: He does have ADHD. I don't I think he faces away?
- 8:04Speaker 3: I really do. I do think he faces away more
- 8:07Speaker 3: either way. I don't think there's a wrong way or
- 8:09Speaker 3: a right way. The only thing that makes a shower
- 8:11Speaker 3: right is if you just get yourself clean.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Play that's right. You soap, water and scrub. That's all
- 8:17Speaker 2: that really hat and don't forget to scrub the bottoms
- 8:19Speaker 2: of your feet and whatnot because you don't want to
- 8:21Speaker 2: pull a Bemmy Blanco. You know what I mean? You
- 8:24Speaker 2: saw that in the news, right, okay't good? We're Toby
- 8:27Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
- 8:29Speaker 2: wash FM. Scrub a dub dub, enjoy the tub and
- 8:32Speaker 2: stay right there because coming up in just minutes Top

- 8:36Speaker 2: you working on?
- 8:37Speaker 3: If you think Americans have an unhealthy obsession with health
- 8:42Speaker 3: and fitness, well you're definitely not alone. I've got the
- 8:45Speaker 3: results of a recent survey coming up in just a
- 8:47Speaker 3: few minutes.

- 9:19Speaker 4: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:21Speaker 3: A man was wounded by US Secret Service after allegedly
- 9:24Speaker 3: shooting at officers near the Washington Monument yesterday afternoon. A
- 9:28Speaker 3: juvenile was also struck by a billet during the exchange
- 9:31Speaker 3: of gunfire and was taken to the hospital with non
- 9:34Speaker 3: life threatening injuries. The condition of the man is not known.
- 9:38Speaker 3: The President says the US has destroyed seven small Iranian ships. Yesterday.
- 9:44Speaker 3: US Central Command leader said that the military destroyed several
- 9:48Speaker 3: vessels that had fired on US warships in the Strait
- 9:51Speaker 3: of Hormuz. The Supreme Court is allowing the abortion pill
- 9:56Speaker 3: to be sent by mail, at least for now. The
- 9:59Speaker 3: order puts on hold of federal Appeals Court ruling. The
- 10:03Speaker 3: DC Police Department had reportedly notified several senior officers, including
- 10:07Speaker 3: two commanders and a captain, that they're being terminated, with
- 10:10Speaker 3: others facing possible discipline. The actions may be tied to
- 10:15Speaker 3: an investigation into alleged manipulation of crime stats. A nineteen
- 10:20Speaker 3: year old Northern Virginia man facing charges after a gun
- 10:23Speaker 3: with no serial number accidentally discharged while he was cleaning
- 10:27Speaker 3: it in Woodbridge. Police say the bullet hit another home,
- 10:30Speaker 3: although no injuries were reported. And according to a recent survey,
- 10:35Speaker 3: sixty four percent of Americans believe the country has an
- 10:38Speaker 3: unhealthy obsession culture, especially when it comes to food and
- 10:42Speaker 3: fitness trends like air flyers, zero sugar drinks, and calorie tracking.
- 10:47Speaker 3: While many say influencers and advertising fuel these fixations, most
- 10:52Speaker 3: respondents also feel that they'd be happier without them. Forecasts
- 10:56Speaker 3: for today partly cloudy skies with highs around eighty five
- 10:59Speaker 3: right now sixty three in Arlington and.
- 11:02Speaker 2: That's the news top stories at the top of the hour.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Next call us eight six six, ninety seven, forty three
- 11:07Speaker 2: sixty one. This was in the news late last week,
- 11:09Speaker 2: but we haven't pulled you on this yet. Americans are
- 11:12Speaker 2: using the word stressful to describe twenty twenty six so far.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Average person says they've already had two plot twists this year.
- 11:21Speaker 2: So what word would you use to describe twenty twenty
- 11:25Speaker 2: six up till this point? Hit us up, join the conversation.
- 11:29Speaker 2: We're talking about it. Next. Stressful. That's the word most
- 11:33Speaker 2: Americans are using to describe twenty twenty six so far,
- 11:37Speaker 2: according to research ninety seven point one watch FM Toby
- 11:41Speaker 2: and Chile in the morning. I don't know that that's
- 11:43Speaker 2: the word I would use to describe the year so far.
- 11:45Speaker 3: What would you use then?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Busted?
- 11:48Speaker 3: Busted?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Yes, this year so far is busted in all sorts
- 11:52Speaker 2: of ways, busted, from the stuff that we see in
- 11:56Speaker 2: the news to the stuff around the world. This year
- 11:59Speaker 2: so far busted. Just one step away from a dumpster
- 12:03Speaker 2: fire by the way.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Wow, all right, I would agree with the words stressful
- 12:07Speaker 3: for sure. Now, what about the average person already having
- 12:10Speaker 3: had two plot twists? This year, we've only had one
- 12:12Speaker 3: in our family with my husband's you know, out of
- 12:15Speaker 3: nowhere gallstones and gall bladder removal. I feel like last
- 12:19Speaker 3: year you had more plot twists than this year.
- 12:22Speaker 5: Oh.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yes, last year was the year of why God why,
- 12:27Speaker 2: I would call it purgatory. That's what last year was.
- 12:30Speaker 2: But this year it's busted, busted. This year's busted because
- 12:34Speaker 2: everything around me is busted. Last year I was busted,
- 12:37Speaker 2: so I was kind of in purgatory, in and out
- 12:40Speaker 2: of the hospital for extended stays. It was just ridiculous.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Hopefully the rest of this year will go much more smoother.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Eight six, six, nine, two, seven, forty three sixty one.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Is there a word you would use to describe twenty
- 12:52Speaker 2: twenty six so far? Ooh, that's ominous, Adrian and Warranton
- 12:57Speaker 2: what you got?
- 12:58Speaker 6: I would say, insane the beast word to describe twenty
- 13:01Speaker 6: twenty six so far.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Why is that between.
- 13:03Speaker 6: What's going on in the world and the stuff I
- 13:05Speaker 6: have to deal with in my personal life?
- 13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's definitely insane.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Insane, busted, and you stick with stressful. You don't have
- 13:14Speaker 2: another word overwhelming? Okay, well I'll give you that. Good
- 13:19Speaker 2: morning Casey and Darnstown. What's the word you would use
- 13:22Speaker 2: to describe twenty twenty six so far?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Mine is whiplash.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Whiplash?
- 13:28Speaker 3: Why that word? Every week it's like new trends, new crisis,
- 13:32Speaker 3: new personality. I just can't keep up. I just sit
- 13:36Speaker 3: down and accept whatever happens next and.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Hope for the best. Casey, sometimes that's all you can do.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Hey, Remember we're all going through something together.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Truth. Stay with Tiby and Tilly in the morning, because
- 13:47Speaker 2: coming up in just minutes.
- 13:49Speaker 3: We're gonna get things very serious in here. It is
- 13:52Speaker 3: sinco de mayo, So we got to ask soft shell
- 13:55Speaker 3: versus hardshell for the taco. There's a right answer.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Here, and it may not be what you think. We'll
- 14:02Speaker 2: discuss coming up, Toby and tell you in the morning.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It is ninety seven point one wash FM on this
- 14:09Speaker 2: Cinco demo, which falls on a Tuesday, a taco Tuesday,
- 14:16Speaker 2: as it were.
- 14:17Speaker 3: How appropriate.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Sometimes life gets it right, and today life is full
- 14:21Speaker 2: of that Cinco de mio taco energy.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And of course we're making tacos tonight at home. Oh yeah,
- 14:26Speaker 3: let me ask you this real quick, and those of
- 14:28Speaker 3: you who are listening, ask yourselves this question when it
- 14:31Speaker 3: comes to the shell for the taco hard versus soft
- 14:35Speaker 3: corn hard.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So, okay, I like the crunch.
- 14:39Speaker 3: So you were telling me a couple of days ago.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Historically though, the original was a soft corn tortilla.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Right, because that's just what they had back in the day,
- 14:50Speaker 2: and so they pressed it and they did their thing
- 14:53Speaker 2: with it. So the soft corn tortilla is kind of
- 14:55Speaker 2: like the og Okay. Now, enter in Glenn Bell, the
- 14:59Speaker 2: founder Taco Bell, he wanted some crunch, so he brought
- 15:03Speaker 2: forth the crunch. Between the forties and sixties, that's when
- 15:07Speaker 2: the hard shell taco was really born and put out
- 15:10Speaker 2: there into the masses. The tortillas were fried into use
- 15:13Speaker 2: shaped shells. The rest is history.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Okay. So I prefer the soft shell because for me,
- 15:18Speaker 3: I am not a fan of things crumbling and getting
- 15:21Speaker 3: chaotic after I bite into it, and that's inevitably what
- 15:24Speaker 3: happens when I tried to eat a hard shell taco.
- 15:28Speaker 2: See. I like the hard shell taco because there is
- 15:31Speaker 2: some support there for whatever you put into it. However,
- 15:36Speaker 2: if you put too much into it, and canon will
- 15:39Speaker 2: crack and possibly break.
- 15:41Speaker 3: So you're saying I'm overstuffing my taco. And that's why.
- 15:43Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, not at all. I'm just
- 15:46Speaker 2: saying corn flour the hard taco that all designed to
- 15:49Speaker 2: do the same sort of thing, just with a different
- 15:52Speaker 2: delivery method. I will say. The one thing that I
- 15:55Speaker 2: don't like about being a fan of the crunchy hard
- 15:58Speaker 2: tacos is that some some times the crunch will create sharp,
- 16:02Speaker 2: little jagged things out of said taco. And if it
- 16:05Speaker 2: goes cutting the roof of my mouth, I'm done.
- 16:07Speaker 3: That's not good.
- 16:08Speaker 2: It's little things, all right.
- 16:10Speaker 3: If you're gonna give one negative to the crunch, I'll
- 16:12Speaker 3: give you one negative to the saw. It could get
- 16:14Speaker 3: soggy if it's over load.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Oh it really does. That's true. That's not Yeah, you
- 16:18Speaker 2: put that Peakoda guy on it. You watch where it
- 16:21Speaker 2: goes right into the tortilla. It's the curse of Montezuma.
- 16:26Speaker 2: See anyway, where do you stand? Eight six, six, nine two,
- 16:30Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one or tap the talkback microphone
- 16:32Speaker 2: jump in. It is Taco Tuesday. It is Cinco de Mayo.
- 16:36Speaker 2: For those who observe now stay with ninety seven point
- 16:40Speaker 2: one wash FM Top stories at the top of the hour.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Coming up in minutes, Chili, what are you working on
- 16:44Speaker 2: this morning?
- 16:45Speaker 3: If you go out to celebrate today for Cinco de
- 16:48Speaker 3: Mayo and drink some adult beverages, make sure that you
- 16:52Speaker 3: get a safe ride home. I'm going to tell you
- 16:54Speaker 3: about some free lift rides that are available coming up
- 16:58Speaker 3: in just a few minutes.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Stay with ninety seven point one WASHFM Toby and Chilly

- 22:14Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point one
- 22:16Speaker 2: wash FM.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Now Andrew, who lives in Laurel, wants to pick our
- 22:21Speaker 3: brains about something Toby that he's wondering if he's being
- 22:24Speaker 3: a jerk about.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Oh keeto, well Andrew, good morning, go ahead. What's up?
- 22:29Speaker 6: Am I being a jerk? Because I want to go
- 22:31Speaker 6: spend Mother's Day? You know, I want to celebrate my
- 22:33Speaker 6: mom and not my wife.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Why are you making your mom a priority this year?
- 22:38Speaker 6: Yeah, my mom's getting up in age, and I feel
- 22:40Speaker 6: like I owe it to her to celebrate Mother's Day
- 22:43Speaker 6: with her. You know, it's like an hour drive. I'm
- 22:45Speaker 6: gonna have to, you know, leave town and go see her.
- 22:47Speaker 6: But I think my wife is going to be pretty
- 22:49Speaker 6: upset about this because she's like, oh, this is my
- 22:52Speaker 6: big day.
- 22:52Speaker 2: So is it worth any potential drama? Yeah?
- 22:55Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 22:55Speaker 6: I just feel like I have to prioritize Mom over
- 22:58Speaker 6: my wife.

- 23:01Speaker 2: for your wife on Mother's Day, I.
- 23:03Speaker 6: Feel bad about it.
- 23:04Speaker 3: You know, I get where you're coming from, Andrew, but
- 23:06Speaker 3: I don't think you're choosing mom over wife. You're just
- 23:10Speaker 3: also including mom. You could still do something with your wife,
- 23:13Speaker 3: maybe just not on that Sunday. So to answer your question,
- 23:17Speaker 3: I don't think you're being a jerk.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I think your time with your mom is limited, and
- 23:21Speaker 2: I think that your wife should understand that you want
- 23:25Speaker 2: to spend that time that you have left with your mom,
- 23:28Speaker 2: and what better day to do it on the day
- 23:30Speaker 2: that honors Mom's Mother's Day. So if she has a
- 23:34Speaker 2: problem with it, I get that maybe she's disappointed, But
- 23:38Speaker 2: to Chili's point, make it right some other way, but
- 23:42Speaker 2: we're happy to pull the class eight six six nineteen

- 25:19Speaker 3: A man was wounded by US Secret Service after allegedly

- 25:26Speaker 3: juvenile was also struck by a bullet during that exchange
- 25:29Speaker 3: of gunfire and was taken to the hospital with non
- 25:32Speaker 3: life threatening injuries. The president says the US has destroyed
- 25:36Speaker 3: seven small Iranian ships. Yesterday, the US Central Command leader
- 25:40Speaker 3: said that the military destroyed several vessels that had fired
- 25:44Speaker 3: on US warships in the Strait of Hormuz. The DC
- 25:48Speaker 3: Police Department has reportedly notified several senior officers, including two
- 25:52Speaker 3: commanders and a captain, that they're being terminated, with others

- 27:00Speaker 2: morning top stories at the top of the hour, and
- 27:02Speaker 2: to stay there because coming right back in minutes, we're
- 27:05Speaker 2: gonna talk about Andrew's plight. He's getting some static, he's
- 27:09Speaker 2: afraid he might upset his wife if he spends Mother's
- 27:13Speaker 2: Day with his mom. Thoughts advice for Andrew overall, what's
- 27:18Speaker 2: your take? Eight six six nine two seven forty three
- 27:21Speaker 2: sixty one. Can also tap the talkback microphone if you
- 27:24Speaker 2: want to get involved. We will circle back on this
- 27:27Speaker 2: conversation with advice for Andrew coming up in just minutes
- 27:31Speaker 2: as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues. Right, let's
- 27:33Speaker 2: get back to this conversation we were having earlier with Andrew
- 27:36Speaker 2: from Laurel, who wanted to pick our brains on what
- 27:39Speaker 2: he should do for Mother's Day. He wants to spend
- 27:42Speaker 2: the day with his mom. She's getting up there in age.
- 27:45Speaker 2: He is a little concerned his wife, the mother of
- 27:47Speaker 2: his kids, will probably be a little poopy pants about it.
- 27:51Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM or Toby and
- 27:53Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning.
- 27:54Speaker 3: So he wants to know whether he's being a jerk
- 27:57Speaker 3: for wanting to be with his mother instead of his
- 27:59Speaker 3: word wife on Sunday.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Calls jump in eight six six nine two seven forty
- 28:05Speaker 2: three sixty one. Brie, good morning, and thank you for listening.
- 28:08Speaker 2: In Vienna.
- 28:09Speaker 7: Thoughts, I mean his mom so like I don't know.
- 28:12Speaker 7: I kind of understand. I think the wife's being a
- 28:14Speaker 7: little intense, and it's like she can also maybe they
- 28:18Speaker 7: should just plan something together so that like they each
- 28:21Speaker 7: have their own day, but then mom gets a little
- 28:24Speaker 7: attention in the morning, and then wife gets more attention
- 28:27Speaker 7: later on.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Brie, it sounds like that's a lot what Chili was
- 28:29Speaker 2: recommending a few minutes ago.
- 28:31Speaker 7: I think mom's mom wins. I mean, I don't know,
- 28:33Speaker 7: she's not going to be around forever.
- 28:34Speaker 3: You know, you make a really good point, Brie. Hopefully
- 28:37Speaker 3: the peace will not be disturbed when he presents that
- 28:41Speaker 3: idea to her.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Right, bethez the Dana, You've got some thoughts, go ahead.
- 28:45Speaker 8: So he is not being a jerk choosing his mom
- 28:48Speaker 8: over his wife because the mom. You know, we only
- 28:50Speaker 8: have so many Mother's Days left with our mom, and
- 28:54Speaker 8: who else is going to spend Mother's Day with the
- 28:57Speaker 8: mom other than the kid. So yeah, no, I think
- 29:00Speaker 8: he's doing the right thing spending it with his mom
- 29:02Speaker 8: and then he'll spend the rest of the day with
- 29:04Speaker 8: the wife. The wife can deal like put on your
- 29:06Speaker 8: big girl pants.
- 29:07Speaker 3: Well, that's assuming that the wife gets along with the
- 29:10Speaker 3: mother in law. Because not every relationship is great if the.
- 29:14Speaker 5: Wife doesn't want to join and participate and celebrate the
- 29:17Speaker 5: mother in law, but then at least allow, you know,
- 29:19Speaker 5: or be accommodating to the husband for you know, going
- 29:23Speaker 5: and being with his mom on Mother's Day.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I want to make you mad on Mother's Day.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts.
- 29:30Speaker 5: Thanks a lot.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Well, it looks like we have.
- 29:32Speaker 3: A consensus, Toby. You and I earlier said we didn't
- 29:35Speaker 3: think Andrew was being a jerked, and it seems that
- 29:39Speaker 3: Bree and Dana also agree.
- 29:41Speaker 2: So what do you think, Andrew.
- 29:42Speaker 6: I think I'm just going to stick to my guns
- 29:44Speaker 6: and go make mom happy, Like I said, she's getting
- 29:47Speaker 6: up there in age, and just suffer their ramifications of
- 29:51Speaker 6: my wife being upset about this.
- 29:53Speaker 2: You would think she would get over it though all
- 29:55Speaker 2: things considered.
- 29:56Speaker 6: I know that's what I feel like she should be
- 29:58Speaker 6: able to. But they will get along.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Well, there's that. Good luck, Andrew, All right, thank you.
