- 0:00Speaker 1: You know, I was reading that Simone Biles. She's olympian.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm kind of familiar these days a gymnast. You might
- 0:07Speaker 1: know her more so as the wife of former Green
- 0:10Speaker 1: Bay Packers' safety Jonathan Owens. Oh that guy.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I just got to know him over over the weekend
- 0:17Speaker 2: as a very supportive husband.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Of course he is. He actually was excused from his
- 0:21Speaker 1: NFL he's with the Bears now, but he was excused
- 0:25Speaker 1: to go watch his wife Simone in the Olympics, which
- 0:27Speaker 1: is awesome. Yeah. Now I'm reading though, because a lot
- 0:29Speaker 1: of people are asking her about what she's going to
- 0:30Speaker 1: be doing after the Olympics, what's her plans, And she
- 0:33Speaker 1: had a lot to say about that. She's like, just
- 0:35Speaker 1: let us enjoy the moment. I gotta ask questions.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Well, I think the biggest question is is is she
- 0:40Speaker 2: going to compete again? Yes, she is already at twenty
- 0:43Speaker 2: seven's that's so old for geriatric being a gymnast. But
- 0:48Speaker 2: it's in LA in four years, and she didn't really
- 0:51Speaker 2: count it out a.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Little shorter flight. I guess I can see the appeal
- 0:55Speaker 1: training for years yet. Leg Yeah, so she's talking a
- 0:58Speaker 1: lot about having kids like that would be the next
- 1:01Speaker 1: phase for life. She's been open about her and Jonathan
- 1:04Speaker 1: mister Owens, Yeah, talking a lot about wanting to have kids.
- 1:07Speaker 1: And she was asked if she would want her kid
- 1:10Speaker 1: to be a gymnast, and she said she doesn't care
- 1:13Speaker 1: at all. She said she is not going to push
- 1:15Speaker 1: if she were to have a child, not going to
- 1:17Speaker 1: push them in any direction whatsoever. Yeah, And that was refreshing,
- 1:21Speaker 1: because you know, it'd be one thing like if you're
- 1:23Speaker 1: just a guy like you know, me, for example, who
- 1:26Speaker 1: just played some sports in high school and by nothing,
- 1:29Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 1:30Speaker 2: You have to admit and I think I had a
- 1:32Speaker 2: little bit of it. But at the same time, it's
- 1:34Speaker 2: not like I'm pushing it. You were a wrestler, You're
- 1:39Speaker 2: probably I would admit that, going to if you have
- 1:43Speaker 2: a girl or boy doesn't matter, you're probably going to
- 1:45Speaker 2: want them to at least try wrestling.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Well, that's what I'm saying, is somebody like me who
- 1:49Speaker 1: is like no success whatsoever, like in the grand scheme
- 1:52Speaker 1: of things, obviously not compared to Simone Biles. It's like
- 1:55Speaker 1: that type of person. They're the type that would kind
- 1:57Speaker 1: of push their kid toward what they did in high
- 1:59Speaker 1: school just to sort of get it back, you know.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But for her it's been her whole life. If anything,
- 2:05Speaker 1: it might be refreshing to have a kid who's like,
- 2:08Speaker 1: plays the xylophone doing something different.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because Tiger Woods his son Charlie, Yeah, trying to
- 2:14Speaker 2: follow in his footsteps.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I don't know how that all started.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I don't know if he was pushing him or it
- 2:19Speaker 2: was like, no, I want to grow up and be
- 2:20Speaker 2: like my dad.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm sure it's both. I think you just around it
- 2:24Speaker 1: so much. What else are you gonna do? You're gonna
- 2:26Speaker 1: give it a shot. How could you not golf? If
- 2:28Speaker 1: your dad it's all he does sun up to sun down,
- 2:30Speaker 1: he's golfing. Yeah, that's true. If you want to spend
- 2:32Speaker 1: time with your dadd he probably ought to get a
- 2:34Speaker 1: nine iron in your hands.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yet, Sid was in dance for I think it's been
- 2:39Speaker 2: two years now.
- 2:40Speaker 1: And if people are just new to the show, Amanda
- 2:42Speaker 1: was a renowned cat dancer, captain of the Wattina Deer
- 2:47Speaker 1: Creek High School Rhythmets. My gosh, you nailed it. I'm not,
- 2:51Speaker 1: of course, I know that I wasn't born yesterday. I've
- 2:54Speaker 1: heard of the Wattina Deer Creek rhythmmets.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Anyway, and this is the for this upcoming season. She
- 3:03Speaker 2: was like, you know, she wants to be back in gymnastics.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, let's she only gets a pig one.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm not going to be juggling at all right now. Right,
- 3:09Speaker 2: so it's just the one thing.
- 3:11Speaker 1: And she picked gymnastics. She did, Oh so what now?
- 3:13Speaker 1: What is her skill level at this point? She's tumbling?
- 3:16Speaker 1: I have no idea, Yeah, rolling around.
- 3:17Speaker 2: She hasn't been in for a couple of years, so
- 3:19Speaker 2: I just I think it's just like tumbling of some
- 3:22Speaker 2: sort or whatever.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And it's it's hard because it's going to change, you know, like,
- 3:27Speaker 1: what are the odds that whatever they're doing when they're
- 3:29Speaker 1: five is going to be the thing they're doing when
- 3:31Speaker 1: they're fifteen.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think I've read a lot of different studies,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and who knows, everybody has their own thing where it's
- 3:37Speaker 2: like you start, I'm really really young. You get them
- 3:38Speaker 2: in and you're going to all these club things, and
- 3:41Speaker 2: that's how they're going to be great. But I've also
- 3:43Speaker 2: read a lot of things where it's like, hey, not
- 3:45Speaker 2: until even sixth grade. Get them in and they could
- 3:48Speaker 2: still do just fine instead of wasting their younger years
- 3:52Speaker 2: and that's all you're doing, right, Yeah, I have so
- 3:54Speaker 2: many people already tell me because this is kind of
- 3:56Speaker 2: the first year that with Sid going to kindergarten, my
- 3:59Speaker 2: lake season and my you know everything, it's like, no,
- 4:01Speaker 2: she's in school now, so it's cut short a little. Well,
- 4:03Speaker 2: you don't get to you know, take the days off
- 4:05Speaker 2: or do whatever. It's a tragedy devastating. No, I'm just kidding.
- 4:10Speaker 1: No.
- 4:11Speaker 2: But people are saying we'll get used to it because
- 4:12Speaker 2: your summers are going away now, and for me.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I can you imagine that? You probably can't. I can't
- 4:18Speaker 1: wrap my head around that.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I understand that if my kids are involved in things
- 4:22Speaker 2: or we put them or choose to do that fine,
- 4:24Speaker 2: but does it have to start that young?
- 4:27Speaker 1: I know, that's just it. I mean that feels like
- 4:28Speaker 1: junior I even high school, right, Yeah, But imagine if
- 4:31Speaker 1: Sydney's and Volleyball Brings is playing baseball or something. It's
- 4:34Speaker 1: gonna be and you're not gonna be traveling together either.
- 4:37Speaker 1: It's you going one way and your husband Nico on
- 4:39Speaker 1: the other way. But you know it's good to let
- 4:41Speaker 1: him try different things early, and I don't like, like
- 4:44Speaker 1: my nephew wrestled for a year and he then like
- 4:46Speaker 1: he was kind of off of it. You know. I'm like, well,
- 4:48Speaker 1: don't I know he's saying he doesn't want to do it,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but like they're so young, like it's okay, sort of
- 4:54Speaker 1: kind of don't just let him say no once and
- 4:56Speaker 1: then never try it again, so you're pushing him. I would, Yeah,
- 5:01Speaker 1: I would, but it's good to listen. Even me, with
- 5:04Speaker 1: the incredibly average career of wrestling that I had, did
- 5:09Speaker 1: try basketball one year. I'll never forget it. One year
- 5:12Speaker 1: I went out for basketball sixth grade and I was
- 5:16Speaker 1: not good, you know, but I am a could dribble ball,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I could shoot it up. Yeah, So I'll never forget that.
- 5:21Speaker 1: We were playing a game at some private school and
- 5:24Speaker 1: probably Old Grove, I guess, and I rarely got in
- 5:27Speaker 1: the game, but I finally got in and somebody passed
- 5:30Speaker 1: me the ball and I'm sitting there like, oh, I
- 5:32Speaker 1: don't get many opportunities. I'm gonna shoot this so from
- 5:36Speaker 1: the corner and this is a you know, like just
- 5:38Speaker 1: down on the baseline. If you're a basketball person, Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 1: obviously I am huh, shucked up a three a three pointer,
- 5:45Speaker 1: and it if you like, if you're looking at the
- 5:47Speaker 1: hoop from the direct side of it, there's not a
- 5:49Speaker 1: lot of opportunity to hit a bank shot. But somehow
- 5:53Speaker 1: the ball hit the backboard and like bounced, ricocheted in
- 5:56Speaker 1: the weirdest way and it went in. I mean it
- 5:59Speaker 1: was crazy, and so I'm like, oh my god, I'm good.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Shoot more so, fast forward to halftime. That was the
- 6:05Speaker 1: only shot I had taken. By the way, we get
- 6:07Speaker 1: to the locker room and the coach, who's kind of
- 6:09Speaker 1: an intense coach, especially for six graders, looks at me,
- 6:13Speaker 1: like literally in the middle of his halftime speech and
- 6:16Speaker 1: looks at me and goes, last name Peterson. By the way, Peterson,
- 6:19Speaker 1: you're not hot. Stop shooting. Oh, and we're just devastating.
- 6:25Speaker 1: And I'm just going I'm shot once and I made it.
- 6:31Speaker 1: You're gonna say that I'm not hot. That could have
- 6:33Speaker 1: been a streak. I don't want to argue, sir, but
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think I've got the highest shooting percentage on this team,
- 6:39Speaker 1: possibly in the history of organized basketball. Wow, did you
- 6:43Speaker 1: make it through the season? Yeah? I finished the season.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Never shot again of course and then didn't go out
- 6:47Speaker 1: the next year. So it just goes to show the
- 6:49Speaker 1: impact that you know your words can have on an
- 6:51Speaker 1: impressionable child.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I did have a stint of volleyball, basketball and softball,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and in basketball I was the traveler. I just couldn't
- 6:59Speaker 2: get just couldn't figure out to stop and dribble sometimes, so.
- 7:04Speaker 1: I was just traveling around the world. Just carry the
- 7:07Speaker 1: ball is so nice in the morning, Big Naty eight
- 7:11Speaker 1: point seven. You know, back to school time, it's pretty
- 7:13Speaker 1: much here. I don't know people like to hear that
- 7:15Speaker 1: parents do like the thought of back to school or.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Your dread if your kids have been home all summer long.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I think it's like, yeah, send them back. But you know,
- 7:23Speaker 2: if you're like me, it's I'm not dreading it. I'm
- 7:25Speaker 2: excited for my daughters kindergarten. But it's just it gets
- 7:28Speaker 2: to be a little emotional. If you have a senior,
- 7:31Speaker 2: that gets to be a little emotional as well.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I got a feeling it's not going to be a
- 7:34Speaker 1: little emotional when you bring Sydney to daycare or kindergarten
- 7:38Speaker 1: for the first time. I'll be fine. That's good. You're
- 7:40Speaker 1: not gonna be fine and that's okay, that's okay, it'll
- 7:43Speaker 1: be good. I'll be here if you need it. Kind
- 7:45Speaker 1: of crazy.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I think Fargo starts on the twenty first, so we're
- 7:49Speaker 2: less than two weeks.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Away from that. I know, hopefully you've been doing it though.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Apparently you know you have some responsibilities the parent to
- 7:56Speaker 1: get your kid ready for school, because I was just
- 7:58Speaker 1: reading about things that teachers wish parents would do to
- 8:02Speaker 1: prepare their kids for the school year. Oh yeah, not
- 8:05Speaker 1: just drop them off. Are you figure it out?
- 8:07Speaker 2: There's been a few things floating around on social media
- 8:09Speaker 2: that I've read from teachers as far as preparation getting
- 8:12Speaker 2: them kind of back into the routine. But we got
- 8:16Speaker 2: sent home on back in like May, like a kindergarten
- 8:20Speaker 2: kind of packet. Yeah, and I had remembered it the
- 8:22Speaker 2: other day, so I gave it to sid last night.
- 8:24Speaker 2: So she was kind of going through like some of
- 8:26Speaker 2: the things that you should know going into kindergarten.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So I don't know if that's on the list. Yeah, Well,
- 8:31Speaker 1: let's see, first off, the skills they would like you
- 8:34Speaker 1: as the parent to re establish routines. Okay, get them
- 8:37Speaker 1: back into the swing of things. So day one they're
- 8:40Speaker 1: not like, what the heck for sure? Yeah, that's hard
- 8:43Speaker 1: to do though, it.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Is, especially in the summertime. We're doing our best, but yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 2: it gets to be a little bit of a challenge.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You should be reading every day with your kids, or
- 8:51Speaker 1: having them read at least. Is that something you continue.
- 8:54Speaker 1: She can't read, she's going to kindergarten. You can't read,
- 8:57Speaker 1: can she? No? I mean she can.
- 8:59Speaker 2: She notices words, and you really like she sees her
- 9:03Speaker 2: name and know it's her She knows it's her name.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that is like a preschool thing, isn't it. Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I remember the day I learned to spell my name.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And she's getting better about it.
- 9:12Speaker 2: We got a library card for the little red reading
- 9:14Speaker 2: bus that comes behind our house in the summertime.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:17Speaker 2: So she was checking out some books and you know,
- 9:19Speaker 2: she she's noticing words.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Interesting. Okay, Yeah, because then I think first grade is
- 9:23Speaker 1: when you learn to spell Mississippi? Remember that maybe the song?
- 9:28Speaker 1: And I said, oh man, I thought it was a
- 9:30Speaker 1: cool walking into school that day telling everyone how to
- 9:33Speaker 1: how to do that. Yeah. Also, they would like you
- 9:36Speaker 1: to find some opportunities to practice fine motor skills. We
- 9:41Speaker 1: just did that last night. Oh yeah, yep. Motor skills
- 9:44Speaker 1: like so we got around a little motorcycle. No, I'm
- 9:47Speaker 1: just kidding it. It was ficks the boat mon.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Taking the scissors, and she's actually pretty good at it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: They you know, have lines that you like, zigzag lines,
- 9:57Speaker 2: different things like that, and then they cut it to
- 9:58Speaker 2: learn your.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Fine motor s so they say, like how to use fizzers,
- 10:02Speaker 1: or work on puzzles, draw use plato, how to write?
- 10:06Speaker 1: Does she know? What can she write? Really? I'll never forget.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And I hate to keep bringing up me as a
- 10:12Speaker 1: child because I don't have kids. So I appreciate this
- 10:15Speaker 1: and I do remember it for some vividly. Do you
- 10:17Speaker 1: remember so many of these things?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Because I don't remember people tell me that much about
- 10:23Speaker 2: elementary at all.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Really, I have like memories of being two. I mean
- 10:28Speaker 1: besides the point, so I remember kindergarten, which I suppose
- 10:31Speaker 1: I was six and I was writing something and for
- 10:34Speaker 1: some reason I would grip a pencil kind of like
- 10:36Speaker 1: you would hold a what's something you would hold like like.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I carot, Yeah, just my son struggles like holding well,
- 10:45Speaker 2: it is kind of an interesting little grip, not now,
- 10:48Speaker 2: but at the time when he didn't know.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So I'm sitting there writing in my kindergarten teacher who
- 10:52Speaker 1: shall not be named, I don't want to. I'm sure
- 10:54Speaker 1: she's a fine lady, but she was not happy with
- 10:57Speaker 1: me writing like that, like berated me. Oh no, and yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and after that, I hate it. I'm like, school sucks.
- 11:04Speaker 1: What is this? Literally wanted to drop out in kindergarten.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 11:07Speaker 2: So that's probably why you remember some of those moments
- 11:09Speaker 2: where they're a little traumatizing that you were called out
- 11:11Speaker 2: in front of somebody at school.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I think that was the point of that story.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So just a few things that you should be doing
- 11:18Speaker 1: with your kids before they get to school. Otherwise, just
- 11:21Speaker 1: don't do any of them and our great teachers will
- 11:24Speaker 1: figure it out.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I was reading and we should share it on our
- 11:27Speaker 2: Facebook page. It's going around on social media a lot
- 11:28Speaker 2: of people talking about just reminding your kids that not
- 11:32Speaker 2: everybody has the same exact things as you, and just
- 11:35Speaker 2: kindness and different things like that overall, because that is
- 11:39Speaker 2: the most important.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and you can say it and they still you know,
- 11:43Speaker 1: kids are going to be kids, but at least, like
- 11:45Speaker 1: do your pardon create some awareness of like you said,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you don't want to have the mean kids. Somebody wears
- 11:50Speaker 1: the same thing two days in a row, or you know,
- 11:52Speaker 1: their shoes don't look as new as yours, like you
- 11:55Speaker 1: just think of all the mean things kids did back then.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Well, and I have had to let that go. Personally,
- 11:59Speaker 2: my he loves he has like a couple of shorts.
- 12:02Speaker 2: He loves to wear it. I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 12:04Speaker 2: they probably think he's wearing that blue tank top or
- 12:07Speaker 2: that red shirt. Again, It's like, who cares, Like that's
- 12:09Speaker 2: what he wants to wear. We're not going to fight
- 12:11Speaker 2: him on it.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It's clean. Go for it. Yeah, who cares? Yeah, you
- 12:15Speaker 1: got a good thing going breaks. Just keep you do you, bud?
- 12:18Speaker 1: Don't fix it? Vain broke. Okay, you tell him that
- 12:20Speaker 1: when you get home. Okay, tell him. Pike said that,
- 12:23Speaker 1: keep wearing that blue tank top. Well trending. Now here's
- 12:27Speaker 1: what you need to know.
- 12:30Speaker 2: As the presidential campaign kicks into high gear, President Biden
- 12:33Speaker 2: has doubts about January. In an interview that is set
- 12:35Speaker 2: to air this week, Biden was to ask if he
- 12:37Speaker 2: felt that it would be a peaceful transfer of power
- 12:40Speaker 2: after the election if Trump were to win.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Biden said he is not confident at all.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz were on the campaign
- 12:48Speaker 2: trail again yesterday, making a sap in Wisconsin. As the
- 12:51Speaker 2: Vice president was driving away from Air Force Too to
- 12:54Speaker 2: travel to the venue Republican Vice Presidential can jd Vance.
- 12:58Speaker 2: He walked across the tarm I don't know if you
- 13:00Speaker 2: saw this video and briefly talked to the reporters, saying
- 13:02Speaker 2: he wanted to take a look at the plane that
- 13:04Speaker 2: he'd be getting on here.
- 13:06Speaker 1: In a few months, calling a shot just funny. Well,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Air Force two, Yeah, that's what that's what
- 13:12Speaker 1: they call the vps. Air Force ones for the big No. Yes,
- 13:17Speaker 1: I hate to be Air Force Too. I think they're
- 13:22Speaker 1: just fine. I don't know, I don't know what the
- 13:25Speaker 1: if there's You don't think the plane has like a complex?
- 13:29Speaker 1: I doubt it. It's in they're thinking you're big, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: then you see Air Force one and you're like, oh,
- 13:35Speaker 1: the plane he told you not to worry about. You're done.
- 13:42Speaker 1: You're done talking about the airplanes. This weird hypothetic pretending
- 13:45Speaker 1: the airplanes have feelings and our people.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, Charles Barkley says he wants to see
- 13:50Speaker 2: Team USA return home with a gold medal.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Of course we all do.
- 13:54Speaker 2: He suggested that the players should find another country to
- 13:56Speaker 2: call home if they fall short. That's honestly, I'm with him,
- 14:00Speaker 2: just said that. Actually, was that yesterday or the day before?
- 14:03Speaker 2: You like, how could we not win? I mean, that's
- 14:04Speaker 2: like the one sport where all of the best.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I mean, there are other countries with really good NBA players,
- 14:10Speaker 1: Like you know, joke here Yannis from Milwaukee. He plays
- 14:15Speaker 1: in Greece. He's Greek. But yeah, other than that, for
- 14:18Speaker 1: the most part, you think we're being get.
- 14:20Speaker 2: This one on lockdown for the first time since two
- 14:22Speaker 2: thousand and four, in which Team USA medaled in artistics
- 14:25Speaker 2: swimming and had their best finish since nineteen ninety six.
- 14:29Speaker 1: So that was nice.
- 14:30Speaker 2: They took film A gold weightlifter, Hampden Morris, made history yesterday,
- 14:34Speaker 2: first American man to win the Olympic weightlifting medals since
- 14:36Speaker 2: nineteen eighty four.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I feel like we've been breaking a lot of records
- 14:40Speaker 1: a lot of.
- 14:41Speaker 2: These races, especially in track and field, that people were
- 14:44Speaker 2: thinking we didn't have a chance. Even the commentators are going,
- 14:46Speaker 2: oh yeah, this Kenyan and this Nigerian they're going and
- 14:50Speaker 2: they're head in head and then all of a sudden,
- 14:51Speaker 2: somebody from the US is just like coming out of nowhere.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's been really really cool to watch that unfold.
- 14:57Speaker 2: We are leading the way most overall medals and the
- 14:59Speaker 2: most closing ceremonies already on Sunday.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Fly Spy. I know, I think maybe I'll have to
- 15:05Speaker 1: watch it one of these days. Wrestling is happening right now,
- 15:10Speaker 1: and I won my one buddy, Trent too, you know,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I bring up off. Yeah, he's over there in Paris
- 15:15Speaker 1: watching the wrestling. I got friends here who are like
- 15:18Speaker 1: up at four am to watch the wrestling.
- 15:21Speaker 2: So yeah, they didn't invite you to their parties, or
- 15:23Speaker 2: you're just not a big wrestler like you say you are.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I'm working.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I have somebody we could very easily turn it on
- 15:30Speaker 2: right now if you were passionate enough about it.
- 15:32Speaker 1: We do have a TV right there, don't we sure
- 15:34Speaker 1: do probably how to turn it on now. My buddy
- 15:36Speaker 1: asked me, Hey, you want to get up early and
- 15:38Speaker 1: watch wrestling. He's like, oh wait, you're up already doing
- 15:41Speaker 1: a job thing. Yeah, and not.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Even paying attention to wrestling. Do you even know who's
- 15:46Speaker 2: there wrestling.
- 15:47Speaker 1: All kinds of guys.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Wow, your credibility for the wrestling community has just gotten
- 15:54Speaker 2: completely into the gun.
- 15:56Speaker 1: No, I mean, I'll admit I'm not as versed on oh,
- 16:00Speaker 1: you know, USA wrestling as I once was. Are you?
- 16:02Speaker 1: Are you wearing your singlet again today?
- 16:04Speaker 3: No?
- 16:05Speaker 1: Is it under there? Yeah? I got it on? Okay
- 16:08Speaker 1: you don't.
- 16:09Speaker 2: The North Dakota State Insurance Commissioner's Office wants to issue
- 16:12Speaker 2: in a PSA to people who have had there's been
- 16:14Speaker 2: a lot of bad weather going through the area the
- 16:16Speaker 2: last few weeks, some hail damage, and he says it
- 16:19Speaker 2: is so common for scammers.
- 16:20Speaker 1: To move in as soon as disaster strikes.
- 16:23Speaker 2: A lot of them are coming to your door claiming
- 16:25Speaker 2: that their FEMA approved. They're saying they need payment upfront
- 16:28Speaker 2: to schedule the job. They're prohibiting you from speaking to
- 16:31Speaker 2: your insurance company. That's gonna be a red flag. But
- 16:33Speaker 2: more importantly, they are just these high pressure salespeople that
- 16:36Speaker 2: want you to sign on the dotted line immediately, saying
- 16:38Speaker 2: that they're going to be able to get the job
- 16:39Speaker 2: done real quick.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And if you're going to.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Probably somebody pretty credible. You're gonna have to wait with
- 16:46Speaker 2: all the damage and everything, So just be on the
- 16:48Speaker 2: lookout because they're getting people.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Would you door to door sales guys in general, Like,
- 16:52Speaker 1: would you ever answer your door? No? Nope, no some
- 16:55Speaker 1: guy out there. No, I struggle. Sometimes it's just like
- 16:59Speaker 1: and you buy if somebody, you know, if I was
- 17:03Speaker 1: knocking at your door, that's oh no, oh no, not
- 17:07Speaker 1: a chance. Blinds would shut quick.
- 17:08Speaker 2: No, But that's it's when somebody rings your doorbell, it's
- 17:12Speaker 2: kind of like high alert.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Unless it's a delivery man.
- 17:15Speaker 2: And even then I just wait for them to Like
- 17:17Speaker 2: if you get groceries delivered, I don't usually meet them.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I wait for them because then I feel like I'm lazy,
- 17:23Speaker 2: like I was home this whole time.
- 17:24Speaker 1: My gon just went to the grocery store. But then
- 17:26Speaker 1: there's things that you have to sign. No you don't,
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah you do. I've been playing this cat and mouse game.
- 17:31Speaker 1: But they delivered the FedEx guy, what kind of items
- 17:33Speaker 1: are you bind the you have to sign off on pike, oh,
- 17:36Speaker 1: refurbished iPads, things of that nature. But for some I
- 17:39Speaker 1: don't remember checking that box. But yeah, and I swear
- 17:42Speaker 1: to God, I'll be home and I don't hear a
- 17:44Speaker 1: knock or anything, and suddenly there's a note saying we
- 17:46Speaker 1: missed you. So it's very frustrated.
- 17:49Speaker 2: All right, today it is chilly, so bring a light jacket,
- 17:52Speaker 2: maybe throwing some pants today. Fifty one right now, gonna
- 17:55Speaker 2: get up to about sixty eight, Gonna be breezy. We
- 17:57Speaker 2: are going to start warming up. Seventy tomorrow, seventy five Saturday,
- 18:00Speaker 2: and eighty Sunday.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And Amanda in the morning on seig seven, I thought,
- 18:06Speaker 1: Amanda that I knew every travel hack that exists. Yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 1: you're pretty good at that. As of today, though, I've
- 18:11Speaker 1: learned of a new one, and it's brilliant in a way,
- 18:13Speaker 1: but until it backfires on you like it did with
- 18:15Speaker 1: this story. So first of all, the hack itself, basically,
- 18:18Speaker 1: I guess people do this where if you're traveling in
- 18:20Speaker 1: a pair, like you were just talking about, you and Nick,
- 18:21Speaker 1: maybe going on a little trip next week, we'll quick getaway.
- 18:24Speaker 1: It'd be nice. Yeah, consider this, if you book your
- 18:27Speaker 1: seats and you buy the seats instead of getting them
- 18:29Speaker 1: right next to each other, which would make sense, get
- 18:32Speaker 1: the aisle seat and then the window seat. Because think
- 18:35Speaker 1: about it, when you go to buy your seat, if
- 18:37Speaker 1: it's just you and you see a middle seat available,
- 18:39Speaker 1: you're not gonna I gotta pay for that. Oh my gosh,
- 18:42Speaker 1: that is genius. Nobody in the right mind would do that.
- 18:45Speaker 2: So if the flight's not full, you're getting a whole
- 18:48Speaker 2: road out the whole that's right now.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Obviously, if it is a full flight, somebody is going
- 18:52Speaker 1: to get a sign to there, somebody who didn't buy
- 18:55Speaker 1: their seat. But there's a good chance, depending on where
- 18:57Speaker 1: you're going, that it's not full. That and also.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Probably eighty percent chance that they're just gonna go, oh,
- 19:04Speaker 2: are you two together?
- 19:05Speaker 1: That's weird. You guys just sit by each other exactly,
- 19:08Speaker 1: which is what happened here when this woman she's written
- 19:11Speaker 1: on Reddit now because she was that person who got
- 19:14Speaker 1: assigned to the middle seat between a man and his wife. Oh,
- 19:17Speaker 1: she was the one that was about to get nooped,
- 19:19Speaker 1: that's correct. So she gets in the middle seat and
- 19:22Speaker 1: she quickly realized, she said, that they were together, and
- 19:25Speaker 1: so look at this saint of a person. She offered up.
- 19:28Speaker 1: She said, would you guys like to sit by each other?
- 19:30Speaker 2: Well, yeah, cause you can imagine I even if my
- 19:33Speaker 2: husband is back behind me. It's like you're given the
- 19:37Speaker 2: eye contact. You're talking, Hey, can you hand me this?
- 19:40Speaker 1: Can you do that? It's oh yeah, and you could
- 19:42Speaker 1: really play it up to to the point you want
- 19:45Speaker 1: to kind of force her hand a little bit. And honestly,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's crazy how this turned out, because this lady said
- 19:49Speaker 1: the wife was immediately annoyed, like before she was even
- 19:53Speaker 1: able to offer to switch seats. The lady was so
- 19:56Speaker 1: annoyed visibly and that she was even there, that she
- 19:59Speaker 1: was at all. She even said something like, you know,
- 20:03Speaker 1: you're not supposed to be sitting here. What are you
- 20:06Speaker 1: talking about my assigned seat? I'm not supposed to be
- 20:09Speaker 1: sitting here. Was I to know that, you guys witch
- 20:12Speaker 1: pull a trick?
- 20:14Speaker 2: Sorry to oh see now that if somebody is already
- 20:18Speaker 2: being a little to me, yeah, I'm probably gonna like
- 20:23Speaker 2: just get his comfy, cozy order what I can.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Amanda legs is spread, they call you, that's what they'd
- 20:30Speaker 1: call you. Go to the bathroom a few times.
- 20:34Speaker 2: If I had time, I'd probably run out and grab
- 20:36Speaker 2: some Chinese food to bring on the plane.
- 20:38Speaker 1: You go keep dropping your airpot underneath her seat. Yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 1: And then this lady is she continued to be rude,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and so this is what she was kind of doing,
- 20:45Speaker 1: what you were doing, but from her seat she would
- 20:48Speaker 1: reach over talk to her husband, just making it miserable,
- 20:51Speaker 1: like obviously for this girl in the middle seat, who,
- 20:53Speaker 1: by the way, not only did nothing, like handled it
- 20:56Speaker 1: better than anybody could expect.
- 20:58Speaker 2: How do you if you're trying to fall asleep on
- 21:01Speaker 2: a plane, I don't do like the neck back like
- 21:03Speaker 2: huh that kind of thing. Yeah, I always do the
- 21:07Speaker 2: tray table down or put my head forward, really very awkward. Yeah,
- 21:12Speaker 2: that's tough, So that would probably be I would just
- 21:15Speaker 2: you know, I'd be like teeter tottering going back and forth,
- 21:18Speaker 2: just making them so uncomfortable. And if it's a tight flight,
- 21:22Speaker 2: I always have my legs crisscross, like.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Swinging them over back and forth. Oh sorry, sorry, Yeah,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I always sleep up right. But then sometimes if you're
- 21:30Speaker 1: a real sleepyhead, I'm going to fly back from Vegas,
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'll kind of nod off and fall over onto the
- 21:35Speaker 1: person next to me, so be able to do that,
- 21:36Speaker 1: to put my head on their shoulder. You ever do that,
- 21:39Speaker 1: and then the person just doesn't say anything, and suddenly
- 21:41Speaker 1: you guys are cuddling. No, you never had that happen.
- 21:44Speaker 2: No, I mean I've had that accidental nod off, but no,
- 21:47Speaker 2: I'm never very touching snuggled with person in thirty two B.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Like it a minute in the morning on Big Nutty
- 21:58Speaker 1: eight points seven. I know Amanda stills the seat. Let's see. Well,
- 22:03Speaker 1: this was really scary.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Three shows for the arist who have been canceled in
- 22:06Speaker 2: Vienna after two men were arrested for a planned terrorist
- 22:09Speaker 2: plot at Taylor's upcoming concerts. Now, with confirmation from the
- 22:12Speaker 2: government and officials for the planned terrorist attack, we have
- 22:15Speaker 2: no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for
- 22:17Speaker 2: everyone's safety. Kind of watching this unfold. Yesterday they had
- 22:20Speaker 2: said that there were a couple of people arrested, but
- 22:23Speaker 2: there was a little bit of a delay before they
- 22:25Speaker 2: canceled it, and I'm like, there's no way they can
- 22:27Speaker 2: go on with this without having any sort of other information.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Roughly two hundred thousand people were expected to attend the
- 22:34Speaker 2: show it was supposed to start today. The suspects were
- 22:36Speaker 2: reportedly a nineteen year old who pledged their alliance to ISIS,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and then there was another man. Police rated the nineteen
- 22:41Speaker 2: year old home they found substance, chemical substances and some
- 22:45Speaker 2: other items, but just really really scary, terrifying.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I mean, props to them for sniffing that out. You
- 22:51Speaker 1: just imagine if that were to actually be successful. Just horrific,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I know. And some bad news for Nelly.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Apper was busted in Missouri for possession of four ecstasy
- 23:03Speaker 2: pills and not having insurance. I guess he was pulled
- 23:05Speaker 2: over in the suburbs of Saint Louis. I didn't know
- 23:08Speaker 2: his real name was Cornell Haynes the second.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't know. If I like a worksheet
- 23:13Speaker 1: of rappers like on one side and then they are
- 23:14Speaker 1: actual names. I don't know why it. It's just interesting. Yeah,
- 23:18Speaker 1: so I always look it up. We'll do that later,
- 23:20Speaker 1: put a worksheet together for me, would you all right? Well?
- 23:22Speaker 1: He does Nelly not have insurance? I don't take something
- 23:25Speaker 1: like I would do is let my car insurance lapse?
- 23:27Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 23:28Speaker 2: Was taking it into custody About four forty five am
- 23:30Speaker 2: on Wednesday, he was booked, he was released.
- 23:32Speaker 1: But Nelly, come on, what's he been up to?
- 23:35Speaker 2: He's he he's married, he's about to have a baby.
- 23:39Speaker 1: This is not the dad vibes you should be putting
- 23:41Speaker 1: out there now. Absolutely ecstasy, Dad Cornell, not cool Cornell.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And I think I'm in a buster.
- 23:51Speaker 2: She was getting a lot of clout for this Whitney Port,
- 23:53Speaker 2: who was on Laguna Beach in the Hills has a
- 23:55Speaker 2: podcast Shockane.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I know. Yes.
- 23:58Speaker 2: So herner husband claimed that they saw jay Loo set
- 24:00Speaker 2: up a paparazzi photo shoot in the Hampton's and just
- 24:03Speaker 2: how ridiculous it is. I guess they saw her riding
- 24:06Speaker 2: her bike with an ice cream cone and like never
- 24:09Speaker 2: actually went in to get it, and so they had
- 24:12Speaker 2: broken all down and they said, this.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Is it weird that Jlo had a set up paparazzi
- 24:17Speaker 3: shot outside of the candy kitchen. And the only reason
- 24:20Speaker 3: I would think it would be weird is like she's
- 24:22Speaker 3: already as famous as you can be, Like, why does
- 24:24Speaker 3: she need to sort of stoke the flames of her
- 24:26Speaker 3: own fame? Seems unnecessary, I know.
- 24:29Speaker 4: But I feel like that's her vibe. She's popped everywhere,
- 24:32Speaker 4: and she's always looking hot, and I think like her
- 24:35Speaker 4: continually looking hot in cute settings is what keeps the
- 24:40Speaker 4: machine going hot.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Take Hot Take, especially when you follow j Loo and
- 24:46Speaker 2: she was on her bike in the Hampton's like doing
- 24:50Speaker 2: this whole thing. And one of the videos, she did
- 24:52Speaker 2: a whole video about her Dolola drinks and so it
- 24:56Speaker 2: was just down from there.
- 24:57Speaker 1: So it was all set up. It was an actual
- 24:59Speaker 1: video curve, like.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Like, oh, these are my favorite things to do in
- 25:01Speaker 2: the summer, and I like to go in and get
- 25:02Speaker 2: to Lola cocktail.
- 25:03Speaker 1: So it was yeah, it was a paparazzi shoot. It
- 25:06Speaker 1: was like, correct, a diversal shoot. Don't put it past her,
- 25:09Speaker 1: trust me. It's one of those things where you know
- 25:11Speaker 1: somebody where if you heard something about a rumor about them,
- 25:13Speaker 1: it's like, well, I don't know if it's true, but
- 25:15Speaker 1: I can see it happening. So it's pretty much as
- 25:17Speaker 1: good as shrip, is it that way, right? Like get
- 25:19Speaker 1: a minute in the morning, come on, get up on
- 25:22Speaker 1: Big seven. How much online shopping do you do nowadays?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Because you know they just did a survey they just
- 25:29Speaker 1: before you make the big reveal, Amanda, Yeah, two days
- 25:32Speaker 1: a year the average American spends shopping online. When you
- 25:35Speaker 1: add it all up, two days of your three hundred
- 25:38Speaker 1: and sixty five you're given every year hopefully.
- 25:41Speaker 2: So I feel like I'm always continuously kind of shopping,
- 25:44Speaker 2: but I'm never buying it all.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 25:47Speaker 2: Like the way they feed you stuff all the time online,
- 25:50Speaker 2: Like if I look at my cart on a certain thing,
- 25:52Speaker 2: I'm like, ah, I never usually pull the trigger. So
- 25:54Speaker 2: my buying to pulling the trigger ratio is pretty up, yeah,
- 25:58Speaker 2: pretty down.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's going you have a little restraint anyway. Yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 1: I go through stints of it.
- 26:03Speaker 2: I mean, I did a lot of back to school
- 26:05Speaker 2: shopping as far as school supplies, I did that online.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Other than that, I really haven't bought a couple suits
- 26:10Speaker 2: this summer. Really, summer's kind of my lulls.
- 26:12Speaker 1: A couple of suits, a couple of three piece suits,
- 26:14Speaker 1: and then you know it for wedding season. You know
- 26:18Speaker 1: it's yeah, it kind of just depends. I've getting rid.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I've really embraced it. I know I'm a few years behind,
- 26:24Speaker 1: but lately just everything because once you start doing it,
- 26:28Speaker 1: where do you draw the line? Like if I need
- 26:30Speaker 1: socks something you could easily just go to any store
- 26:33Speaker 1: and get, it's like, well, do I disorder those or Like,
- 26:36Speaker 1: for example, I needed a power strip that's available at
- 26:39Speaker 1: Walmart right down the road. I could just get a
- 26:41Speaker 1: ship too, you know, but there's also some downsides too,
- 26:44Speaker 1: Like you do your shopping for clothes right, well, I
- 26:47Speaker 1: just couldn't possibly buy. Like We're going on this trip
- 26:50Speaker 1: to Italy and I'm supposed to get you know, I
- 26:51Speaker 1: want to get some clothes, but I have no confidence
- 26:54Speaker 1: they're going to fit.
- 26:55Speaker 2: See, you're like my husband in that regard. There's certain
- 26:57Speaker 2: things that I'll do hit or miss that I'll buy online.
- 27:00Speaker 2: And I honestly, and I'm not just saying this, I
- 27:02Speaker 2: try to support local as much as I possibly can
- 27:04Speaker 2: for certain regards like close shopping. I'll go to boutiques,
- 27:08Speaker 2: you know, things like that for for certain things. But
- 27:10Speaker 2: then though the things that are like the wear and
- 27:13Speaker 2: tear that are easy, Like my husband, I got him
- 27:15Speaker 2: on Prime Day undies. It's like, yeah, I'm gonna go
- 27:17Speaker 2: get you those through there versus Prime Day chonies. Yeah
- 27:21Speaker 2: uh huh and he wow, he was really like really
- 27:25Speaker 2: not having it.
- 27:26Speaker 1: These aren't gonna be great. Been rocking those for about
- 27:31Speaker 1: a month. Well, you never know, Like if you're on Amazon,
- 27:33Speaker 1: there's just so many like scam not I don't want
- 27:36Speaker 1: to say scammers, but people that are like taking these
- 27:38Speaker 1: other products and then making them their own, like drop
- 27:41Speaker 1: shipping if you're familiar with that. No, basically, somebody just
- 27:44Speaker 1: I'll buy a super cheap Chinese product like underwear, and
- 27:48Speaker 1: then I'll create this brand and sell it under this
- 27:51Speaker 1: new brand for a large margin.
- 27:54Speaker 2: But they're not like copying, for instance, I got him
- 27:56Speaker 2: some Calvin Klein Chonis Or are they like redoing that?
- 28:00Speaker 1: No? No, no, it's not like Tommy hill Finger. Just
- 28:04Speaker 1: be some brand you've never heard Tommy hill Finger. Yeah,
- 28:09Speaker 1: did you say fairly just what I said? You did?
- 28:12Speaker 1: I just said that and you tried to be funny.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Oh my god, that was really embarrassing because in my head,
- 28:20Speaker 1: I'm the first person to ever say that. No people
- 28:23Speaker 1: have said Hillfinger. That was saying the end finger. Really, Now,
- 28:29Speaker 1: I got to reevaluate some things. Folks will be back.
- 28:32Speaker 1: This might be a while while in the morning, Big
- 28:35Speaker 1: Nay eight point seven. You got any vacations coming up?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Because it turns out that gen Z young people and millennials,
- 28:40Speaker 1: they're vacationing a little different than years past. Where where
- 28:44Speaker 1: do you lean on the scale of relaxing vacation where
- 28:47Speaker 1: you're just chilling, keep compressing or the other end of
- 28:50Speaker 1: the spectrum, which is like go go go ad ventures,
- 28:54Speaker 1: sight seeing, just doing all the things.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think a lot of that is truly I
- 28:58Speaker 2: feel like that is social media driven to show the
- 29:01Speaker 2: world that you're doing all of these different things. If
- 29:03Speaker 2: you're just going and relaxing and unplugging, not nearly as fun.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I would love to just go and relax, but usually
- 29:10Speaker 2: our trips involve our kids and that is just NonStop action. Yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 2: but ultimately I'm a I like the Ideally, I would
- 29:17Speaker 2: like to do half and half. Sure, you know, have
- 29:19Speaker 2: a couple of downtimes, some rest that, but it is
- 29:22Speaker 2: it's hard hard to to just sit there and relax
- 29:24Speaker 2: on vacation show.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I get stressed out. And I'm not saying I want
- 29:27Speaker 1: to go see you know, the Eiffel Tower or whatever,
- 29:30Speaker 1: but I also want to do stuff. Like my idea
- 29:33Speaker 1: would be, you know, going and eating, going and having
- 29:36Speaker 1: some drinks at a place. It's still like moving, You're
- 29:38Speaker 1: still doing the same thing. You're just eating and drinking.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I have like vacation anxiety a lot of times.
- 29:44Speaker 2: When I go somewhere. Usually it's like, oh, the hype
- 29:47Speaker 2: to get there. Then you're there and it's like, oh
- 29:49Speaker 2: my gosh, we only have this amount of time, let's
- 29:51Speaker 2: try to get this in. And then like I don't
- 29:53Speaker 2: sleep really well because now it's only like two days
- 29:56Speaker 2: left or a day left, and now I'm already packing
- 29:58Speaker 2: up and doing so I need to just like release
- 30:00Speaker 2: and let go on vacations.
- 30:01Speaker 1: But it's shazing you ever try to take a nap
- 30:04Speaker 1: on VAKA. I can't.
- 30:05Speaker 2: My husband tries to get me to do it, and
- 30:07Speaker 2: I'm not good at it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Well, you just lay there thinking like you're just counting
- 30:10Speaker 1: the minute you're wasting. You paid all this money, you
- 30:13Speaker 1: took the time on fork to come here, and here
- 30:14Speaker 1: I am lying in a bed. What are we doing?
- 30:16Speaker 1: I agree, one hundred percent, But then it's like you
- 30:19Speaker 1: almost have to sometimes so like let's say you're in
- 30:21Speaker 1: Vegas and it's a three day sprint, Like you can't
- 30:24Speaker 1: really function if you didn't sleep the night before.
- 30:26Speaker 2: If I go to a Nashville or a Vegas or anything,
- 30:28Speaker 2: I'm taking the day after I get off, Like that
- 30:31Speaker 2: is one thing I have learned.
- 30:32Speaker 1: I need a full on, like recoup day at home.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It's a luxury some can afford. Really, you just you
- 30:39Speaker 1: just go to Vegas two days and not three. That's
- 30:42Speaker 1: really all it is. Take in a minute in the morning,
- 30:45Speaker 1: see seven. What are you laughing at?
- 30:47Speaker 2: Well, you haven't watched any of the Olympics, as it's
- 30:50Speaker 2: not true.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I just watched a reel. Somebody said me on Facebook.
- 30:52Speaker 1: You keep watching the highlights.
- 30:54Speaker 2: So I'm getting all geeked out about the Olympics and
- 30:56Speaker 2: all of these like really close. Well right now, it's
- 30:59Speaker 2: meat Like last night or I guess it was yesterday afternoon,
- 31:02Speaker 2: was watching the steeple chase.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Guys like track meet. I don't know, is in the
- 31:07Speaker 1: Olympics all one big meet?
- 31:10Speaker 2: Then?
- 31:10Speaker 1: What it is?
- 31:11Speaker 2: So it was during the steeplechase and the guy from
- 31:15Speaker 2: the USA was all the way in the back and
- 31:17Speaker 2: this is I mean, they're acting like horses and they're
- 31:20Speaker 2: running so fast.
- 31:20Speaker 1: They're doing the hurdles or going through water. It's just
- 31:23Speaker 1: a hurdle, but there's water. It's one of the weirdest things.
- 31:25Speaker 1: It's crazy. And the fact that they're jumping over these
- 31:28Speaker 1: hurdles and then like launching off the top of it. Yeah,
- 31:31Speaker 1: it truly is incredible to watch.
- 31:33Speaker 2: And they go around like ten times, so the commentators
- 31:36Speaker 2: are talking about Kenya and Ethiopia and like, oh, it's
- 31:39Speaker 2: gonna be one of these guys, and they Kenya, I think,
- 31:42Speaker 2: is trying to win for the first time in so
- 31:44Speaker 2: many years. I mean, just counting out the fact that
- 31:46Speaker 2: the guy from the USA would never even fathom to win.
- 31:50Speaker 2: And here we are, last last loop around and he
- 31:54Speaker 2: just I mean he comes around, the one guy falls,
- 31:57Speaker 2: he ends up in a neck brace which is devas
- 32:00Speaker 2: eight crazy.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and then the guybody ever drowned in this event
- 32:04Speaker 1: with that water, I don't think so bike would be crazy.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I mean it's like four inches of water. But but
- 32:09Speaker 1: if you were, I mean, if nobody got you right away, yeah,
- 32:13Speaker 1: stand up. But it's possible.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Anyway, ended up getting in silver in it. But it
- 32:17Speaker 2: was truly incredible to watch how fast these guys are
- 32:22Speaker 2: going into what they're doing.
- 32:23Speaker 1: And you know the worst part, you're saying like how
- 32:24Speaker 1: exciting it is, and the announcers are going nuts because
- 32:26Speaker 1: the guy Kenneth Rooks is his name. The US runner
- 32:30Speaker 1: that he got second was crazy, but he was in
- 32:31Speaker 1: the lead with like one hundred meters left, right, so
- 32:35Speaker 1: I muse for the first time, going well, he blew it.
- 32:38Speaker 1: What are we celebrating? He blew it? Nope. The guy
- 32:42Speaker 1: that came from behind is like twice as tall as legs, like,
- 32:45Speaker 1: you know, he takes one step for our guys every two.
- 32:48Speaker 2: That and then another one that I've been really fascinated
- 32:51Speaker 2: about is artistic swimming. The US one gold in that
- 32:54Speaker 2: they were doing like the moon walk in the air.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I mean, it's just incredible. And their makeup still stays
- 32:59Speaker 2: on while they're underwater. It's it must be a waterproof makeup.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Is that a thing? Yeah, yeah, no, that's I'm sure
- 33:06Speaker 1: then that's what it is. They'd be stupid not to
- 33:08Speaker 1: have that anyway. Oh that's well good. I'm glad showing
- 33:11Speaker 1: up today.
- 33:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, there's all the big events like the classic, the
- 33:14Speaker 1: one hundred meter sprint, the you know, the gymnastics, but
- 33:18Speaker 1: it's fun to watch some of the random stuff. Yeah,
- 33:20Speaker 1: we're closing in on a hundred medals is that all overall? Yeah? Wow?
- 33:24Speaker 1: Good for us? And do you ever remember who wins
- 33:28Speaker 1: the Olympics? Is that even a thing? Because we sit
- 33:30Speaker 1: here we talk about medal count, but could you ever
- 33:32Speaker 1: tell me who won the four year ago Olympics? You mean,
- 33:36Speaker 1: like as a nation.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, no, yeah, I'm like, yeah, some owned Byles
- 33:40Speaker 2: Michael Philips.
- 33:41Speaker 1: But as far as and is there some sort of
- 33:44Speaker 1: reward for the country that wins, some sort of immunity
- 33:47Speaker 1: from wh should we enter a third World war. We're
- 33:51Speaker 1: off limits for four years. Don't touch us.
