- 0:08Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome into another episode of The check O Daily.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Andrew de check O, Eagles beat reporter for insidethebirds dot Com,
- 0:14Speaker 1: here with you, and today I'm going to go through
- 0:17Speaker 1: the offense and name one player at each position that
- 0:22Speaker 1: I deem to be most on the bubble. And I
- 0:26Speaker 1: could have won a lot of different routes with certain positions.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Others they were pretty apparent and I had to really
- 0:34Speaker 1: you know, it's a little bit of a stretch, but
- 0:36Speaker 1: we'll start a quarterback because the Eagles have Jayalen Hurts,
- 0:40Speaker 1: Tanner McKee, Andy Dalton, and Cole Payton. I still have
- 0:45Speaker 1: a hard time imagining the Eagles carrying four quarterbacks just
- 0:49Speaker 1: based on the talent across the roster and positions you
- 0:53Speaker 1: may have to go heavier at, especially on defense, but
- 0:57Speaker 1: we'll have to wait and see how it goes during
- 0:58Speaker 1: training camp and the practic this is. There's still a
- 1:01Speaker 1: lot that we need to learn. But as things stand
- 1:04Speaker 1: right now, a couple of weeks out from training camp,
- 1:07Speaker 1: the player I deem most to be on the bubble
- 1:09Speaker 1: at quarterback is rookie Cole Peyton. So McKee and Dalton
- 1:16Speaker 1: clearly have a lot of experience working in their favor.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Cole Payton when the Eagles drafted him, was always going
- 1:22Speaker 1: to be a developmental project that is going to require
- 1:25Speaker 1: patients in some time, mechanically, especially, but also just learning
- 1:31Speaker 1: an NFL offense, maybe tweaking his delivery and things like that.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But there's no mistake in what he could end up being,
- 1:39Speaker 1: and that is a potentially decent backup in this league.
- 1:43Speaker 1: You like the athleticism, which I find to be pretty enticing,
- 1:46Speaker 1: especially as a runner, and if you're comparing it to
- 1:51Speaker 1: Kyle McCord from last year, Cole Payton at least gives
- 1:53Speaker 1: you something athletically that McCord couldn't. So being that he
- 1:58Speaker 1: was a fifth round pick, I guess you could wonder
- 2:01Speaker 1: if he hits the waiver wire if there will be
- 2:03Speaker 1: some teams that would be interested. But I think right now,
- 2:07Speaker 1: based off of roster construction, I don't know that they
- 2:09Speaker 1: can carry four quarterbacks, and it's gonna be really interesting
- 2:13Speaker 1: to see what happens between Tanner McKee and Andy Dalton
- 2:17Speaker 1: in that regard. But Cole Peyton's gonna have to go
- 2:20Speaker 1: out there and earn a roster spot, and I thought
- 2:23Speaker 1: he had some decent moments in the spring. There were
- 2:26Speaker 1: other moments that served as a reminder that he still
- 2:29Speaker 1: has a ways to go before he can be depended upon.
- 2:32Speaker 1: But you can see the ability, and now that he's
- 2:36Speaker 1: had some time to really dial that in over these
- 2:40Speaker 1: last several weeks that there haven't been practices, maybe he
- 2:44Speaker 1: comes into training companies a little bit more polished, a
- 2:47Speaker 1: little bit more detailed in his approach. But right now,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I think when you take everything into consideration, it's hard
- 2:54Speaker 1: to look at that position room and not have Cole
- 2:58Speaker 1: Peyton as someone who's on the bubble. The Eagles typically
- 3:00Speaker 1: don't like to waive their rookies. They want to give
- 3:05Speaker 1: them time to grow and develop, and that's the way
- 3:07Speaker 1: that you should do it. But sometimes it comes down
- 3:10Speaker 1: to a numbers crunch, and right now I have Cole
- 3:13Speaker 1: Payton as the quarterback most on the bubble at running back.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Look running back is pretty well set in my estimation,
- 3:21Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, who I'm really bullish on in
- 3:25Speaker 1: twenty twenty six, and you have Will Shipley, Will Shipley. Yes,
- 3:29Speaker 1: they have players in this room such as Damian Pierce
- 3:33Speaker 1: and Elijah Mitchell, Carson Steele, but no one who I
- 3:38Speaker 1: really view as a legitimate threat to Will Shipley. They
- 3:42Speaker 1: haven't really added anyone that didn't traft, anyone that I
- 3:45Speaker 1: think is going to really push Will. But for the
- 3:49Speaker 1: sake of this exercise, the player at that position that
- 3:52Speaker 1: I have most on the bubble would be veteran running
- 3:55Speaker 1: back Damian Pierce. So Damian Pierce signed a one year
- 3:58Speaker 1: deal back in March. I really liked him as a rookie.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I thought he sort of took the NFL by storm.
- 4:05Speaker 1: He was a mid round pick and he had nine
- 4:08Speaker 1: hundred and thirty nine rushing yards as a rookie. He's
- 4:11Speaker 1: played in forty three games, he started twenty of them.
- 4:14Speaker 1: He's rushed for one thoy, six hundred and eighty four
- 4:16Speaker 1: yards and eight touchdowns. But he's only played in sixteen
- 4:20Speaker 1: games over the past two seasons, so durability has been
- 4:25Speaker 1: a concern with him. I think fumbling is something to
- 4:28Speaker 1: keep an eye on with him. Availability as well, especially
- 4:32Speaker 1: in training camp. If you're in a roster battle, you
- 4:35Speaker 1: can not afford to miss any time or be banged up.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And I think it's also important to note that his
- 4:41Speaker 1: production since his rookie season has tailed off every year.
- 4:46Speaker 1: If there is a saving grace for him, it's that
- 4:48Speaker 1: he can help as a kick returner. He's returned twenty
- 4:51Speaker 1: kicks for six hundred and fifty six yards in his career,
- 4:53Speaker 1: including a touchdown as a rookie which went for ninety
- 4:56Speaker 1: eight yards. But when you're looking at it in terms
- 4:59Speaker 1: of what the Eagles already have, Saquon Barkley is the
- 5:02Speaker 1: belcow tank. Bigsby is such a good change up that
- 5:06Speaker 1: I think is going to be primed for a bigger
- 5:08Speaker 1: role in the twenty twenty sixth season. Will Shipley is
- 5:11Speaker 1: the eagles best pass catching running back, and he is
- 5:14Speaker 1: going to be the front runner for the kick return job.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And I have to think that his skill set would
- 5:18Speaker 1: really lend itself to translating well in a Sean Mannion
- 5:22Speaker 1: offense with the new run designs. Where does that leave
- 5:25Speaker 1: Damian Pierce? Well, Damian Pierce is kind of a one
- 5:28Speaker 1: dimensional player. He's not a pass catcher. He's sort of
- 5:31Speaker 1: a between the tackles plotter. Earlier in his career, I
- 5:34Speaker 1: thought he had a little bit of juice where he
- 5:36Speaker 1: can bounce it outside. But there's nothing really appealing in
- 5:39Speaker 1: terms of his skill set that's going to differentiate himself
- 5:43Speaker 1: from a Will Shipler, even an Elijah Mitchell for that case,
- 5:46Speaker 1: who you know fits the system. He was in it
- 5:50Speaker 1: in San Francisco, and I think he's even a tick
- 5:53Speaker 1: further down in the pecking order than Damian Pierce the Eagles.
- 5:57Speaker 1: If you look across the different position rooms, I think
- 6:02Speaker 1: running back, you can make an argument that they've added
- 6:04Speaker 1: the least amount of competition to really threaten the number
- 6:07Speaker 1: three spot, or even have a competition that should be entertained.
- 6:12Speaker 1: But for the sake of this exercise, much like quarterback,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I'm going with Damian Pierce here. Wide receiver though, was
- 6:18Speaker 1: pretty interesting because the Eagles have DeVante Smith leading the way.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You have the rookie McKay Lemon, you have Dantavian Wicks.
- 6:28Speaker 1: They also signed Hollywood Brown, and Hollywood Brown has five
- 6:31Speaker 1: million guaranteed on his deal. Barring a complete meltdown in
- 6:35Speaker 1: training camp, he's going to be on the roster. Okay,
- 6:38Speaker 1: So that's four. You also have Johnny Wilson, who's returning
- 6:44Speaker 1: from an injury, the six foot six receiver who Nick
- 6:47Speaker 1: Sirianni often touts for being willing to do the dirty work.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Offers unique size and something different in that room. Darius Cooper,
- 6:55Speaker 1: who made the team last year as an undrafted free agent.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You have Brittain Covey, who's hung around for a number
- 7:01Speaker 1: of years. He could, in theory, be the Eagles pump returner.
- 7:05Speaker 1: So one how many receivers will they carry. I happen
- 7:09Speaker 1: to think that they would carry six, but there's also
- 7:12Speaker 1: a likelihood where they carry five. And Stash went on
- 7:15Speaker 1: the practice squad, and so as I look at this group,
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think, I really think that Johnny Wilson, if he
- 7:25Speaker 1: has a decent summer, is going to fight his way
- 7:27Speaker 1: onto this roster. He looks healthy, The Eagles seem to
- 7:32Speaker 1: really like him. He gives you something a little bit
- 7:35Speaker 1: different from this group and can help as a blocker.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He can also help on special teams. Maybe he becomes
- 7:40Speaker 1: a red zone guy. And I know that he has
- 7:42Speaker 1: a rapport with Jalen Hurts. All of those things matter
- 7:45Speaker 1: greatly within the context of the back end of the roster.
- 7:50Speaker 1: When you're widowing it down, you need to have a
- 7:53Speaker 1: lot of value to justify a spot. So oddly enough,
- 7:57Speaker 1: I think the player who I picked to be on
- 7:59Speaker 1: the bubble is going to be. Darius Cooper, the second
- 8:04Speaker 1: year wide receiver now out of Tarlatan State. Darius Cooper
- 8:07Speaker 1: last season played in thirteen games, two hundred and twelve
- 8:11Speaker 1: snaps on offense, which counted for twenty six percent of
- 8:13Speaker 1: the snaps, and he also played one hundred and three
- 8:16Speaker 1: on special teams. He went nine for ninety two on
- 8:20Speaker 1: eleven targets and great story of development. He's also someone
- 8:25Speaker 1: who can do that grimy work that the Eagles really
- 8:28Speaker 1: value from a depth receiver. But what really, if you're
- 8:34Speaker 1: being objective, does he give you that you're not going
- 8:37Speaker 1: to get from another player. He's not a burner. He's
- 8:41Speaker 1: not someone who's going to threaten a team a defense vertically.
- 8:46Speaker 1: He's a short to intermediate type of receiver, really good
- 8:49Speaker 1: compact build, who can block and do some different things
- 8:52Speaker 1: like that. Don Tavian Wicks can do that, Johnny Wilson
- 8:57Speaker 1: can do that. Can Darius Cooper factor in as a gunner?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Maybe they tried him in that area and he looked
- 9:04Speaker 1: to do okay. Could he help as maybe a kick
- 9:08Speaker 1: returner where that's sort of an unknown right now with
- 9:11Speaker 1: the Eagles, And I mentioned Will Shipley being a front runner.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I mean, he hasn't put his stamp on that. Could
- 9:18Speaker 1: Darius Cooper maybe fight his way into the mix perhaps,
- 9:23Speaker 1: but he's going to have to do some different things
- 9:26Speaker 1: in order to battle his way on the roster this year.
- 9:30Speaker 1: In my estimation, a lot can change. But right now,
- 9:33Speaker 1: this is a crowded group at receiver and you have
- 9:36Speaker 1: to do something to differentiate yourself other than be consistent
- 9:39Speaker 1: in practice. A lot of those players are going to
- 9:41Speaker 1: be consistent. Can you make big plays every day? Can
- 9:45Speaker 1: you demonstrate value in other areas for the coaching staff,
- 9:49Speaker 1: all of those things are going to determine whether or
- 9:51Speaker 1: not a Darius Cooper or a Johnny Wilson Britain Covey
- 9:55Speaker 1: to a lesser degree, because he's a little bit older,
- 9:58Speaker 1: he would really always be on the roster to return punts.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So I think you could probably get him on the
- 10:04Speaker 1: practice squad and elevate him for a few weeks and
- 10:06Speaker 1: then make your decision of what you want to do.
- 10:08Speaker 1: But there are some players there and it's suddenly become
- 10:10Speaker 1: a logjam in that position room. But I'm going to
- 10:13Speaker 1: go with Darius Cooper as my guy on the bubble
- 10:15Speaker 1: at wide receiver, at tight end the Eagles have done
- 10:19Speaker 1: a really nice job of re establishing that room and
- 10:22Speaker 1: providing more balance. And they have Dallas Goddard, who will
- 10:26Speaker 1: be the headliner in twenty twenty six for probably his
- 10:29Speaker 1: final season. I know we keep saying that, but it
- 10:32Speaker 1: feels like that boys to Men's song to the end
- 10:35Speaker 1: of the road. And then you have Johnny Mount who
- 10:39Speaker 1: they brought in particularly because of his blocking, and that's
- 10:43Speaker 1: really what he's going to do. He's going to thrive
- 10:45Speaker 1: as an inline blocker. And when you talk about adding
- 10:48Speaker 1: balance to this room, you take Johnny Munt out of
- 10:51Speaker 1: that and you largely have the same room as last season,
- 10:55Speaker 1: just maybe some different names. So I think he's going
- 10:58Speaker 1: to be pretty well in trench as the number two
- 11:00Speaker 1: tight end. If he still can play. That needs to
- 11:02Speaker 1: be learned in training camp. If he doesn't have anything left, well,
- 11:05Speaker 1: then this isn't going to He's not going to be
- 11:10Speaker 1: able to step into that number two tight end role.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And this point will be moot, but I think he'll
- 11:16Speaker 1: be the two. And then you have Eli Stowers, of course,
- 11:18Speaker 1: the rookie big you know he's going to have you know,
- 11:22Speaker 1: the Eagles have big plans for him. Maybe not immediately.
- 11:24Speaker 1: He still has to grow and develop as a blocker
- 11:27Speaker 1: and you know, refine that area. He's a willing blocker,
- 11:30Speaker 1: but he's got to learn the technical aspect, maybe get
- 11:33Speaker 1: a little stronger. But where I will do see him
- 11:36Speaker 1: being used this year is as a receiving weapon, moving
- 11:40Speaker 1: around formations, showcasing that versatility, finding different matchups where he
- 11:45Speaker 1: can exploit a defense. He will be incorporated. I just
- 11:49Speaker 1: don't know how heavily in year one. But you have
- 11:52Speaker 1: your three tight ends there, do they go three or
- 11:54Speaker 1: do they go four? I happen to think they go four.
- 11:58Speaker 1: But if they do go for I think Grant. I
- 12:00Speaker 1: think Grant kal Katia would be the odd man out.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I think Cameron Lattu would make more sense as to
- 12:05Speaker 1: four because he's a more well rounded player and he
- 12:08Speaker 1: gives you a ton more on special teams. So the
- 12:11Speaker 1: player that I have on the bubble is veteran Grant
- 12:14Speaker 1: kal Kata, Which sounds silly to think, right because Grant
- 12:18Speaker 1: kal Kata this is a player who played a career
- 12:21Speaker 1: high three hundred and eighty snaps last season for the
- 12:23Speaker 1: Eagles on offense. That was forty percent of the offensive total.
- 12:27Speaker 1: He's appeared in sixty two games in his career starting
- 12:30Speaker 1: twenty two, and his career numbers as a receiver, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: he hasn't really been utilized all that much in that capacity,
- 12:36Speaker 1: but forty two for four hundred and ninety four yards
- 12:39Speaker 1: and two touchdowns on fifty six targets. I know last
- 12:44Speaker 1: season he was putting some challenging situations as a blocker,
- 12:48Speaker 1: and he got blown up more often than he didn't.
- 12:51Speaker 1: He was a liability out there in that regard. He's
- 12:54Speaker 1: not an inline blocker. That's evident. That's been evident for
- 12:57Speaker 1: years now. I don't necessarily put that on Grant. He's
- 13:02Speaker 1: got to be better, He's got to be able to
- 13:04Speaker 1: hold his own at the point of attack a little
- 13:06Speaker 1: bit better. But that's not his skill set. He's a
- 13:08Speaker 1: receiving centric tight end who was put in a difficult
- 13:11Speaker 1: spot to do something that is sort of outside his
- 13:15Speaker 1: skill set. I put that on coaching, not necessarily. The
- 13:17Speaker 1: player that said Grant for being a receiving centric tight
- 13:22Speaker 1: end hasn't really factored all that much in the offensive
- 13:25Speaker 1: plans over the last really throughout his career. Now, he
- 13:29Speaker 1: is someone who typically catches a flurry of passes in
- 13:32Speaker 1: training camp, and I do think that Grant, I would
- 13:35Speaker 1: make the argument, has some of the better hands on
- 13:37Speaker 1: the Eagles. He's a popular target for Jayalen Hurts in
- 13:41Speaker 1: the summer, but that never seems to manifest in the
- 13:44Speaker 1: regular season. So you have a past centric, receiving centric
- 13:48Speaker 1: tight end who is being cast as a inline blocker
- 13:52Speaker 1: at a necessity and it just wasn't working. I don't
- 13:55Speaker 1: know that he would be the fourth tight end here
- 13:57Speaker 1: because he doesn't give you the special teams value that
- 14:00Speaker 1: a Cameron Latu can, and I don't think he's good
- 14:05Speaker 1: enough as a receiver or impactful enough, I should say
- 14:08Speaker 1: that's probably the better word as a receiver to justify
- 14:11Speaker 1: keeping him around for another year. But he's on the
- 14:14Speaker 1: bubble because he's been on the roster since being drafted
- 14:18Speaker 1: in the sixth round in twenty twenty two, and he's
- 14:20Speaker 1: been sort of a steady presence, and I think that
- 14:27Speaker 1: this could be the end for him this year. And
- 14:29Speaker 1: the Eagles have a really crowded room at tight end.
- 14:32Speaker 1: It's really difficult for me to find a spot for Grant,
- 14:35Speaker 1: Kyle Katara, for Grant Kal Katara, and so he's going
- 14:39Speaker 1: to be my tight end that I'm putting on the
- 14:42Speaker 1: bubble here, and then as we move on to the
- 14:46Speaker 1: offensive line, I'm going to go, well, we'll start with tackle,
- 14:51Speaker 1: and that's going to be Cameron Williams, the second year
- 14:54Speaker 1: offensive tackle, and he went to Texas. He was a
- 14:59Speaker 1: twenty twenty five sixth round pick. He played in fifty
- 15:03Speaker 1: one snaps in the season finale, just in one game.
- 15:06Speaker 1: But when you look at the Eagles tackle room right now,
- 15:10Speaker 1: you obviously have Jordan Mailatta and you have Lane Johnson.
- 15:15Speaker 1: They drafted Markel Bell in the third round. They signed
- 15:17Speaker 1: Fred Johnson in free agency. Miles Hinton, another second year
- 15:22Speaker 1: player who was another Day three guy. He's also a
- 15:26Speaker 1: tackle by trade, but the Eagles have been cross training
- 15:29Speaker 1: him at guard, so they're trying to get more information
- 15:33Speaker 1: to see if he can be one of those versatile
- 15:35Speaker 1: players that maybe they can stash at the back end
- 15:37Speaker 1: of the roster. So already you potentially certainly have two
- 15:41Speaker 1: players in front of him, but maybe even a third,
- 15:45Speaker 1: and maybe Cameron Williams cross trains a little bit this
- 15:49Speaker 1: summer because I do think he's a better tackle prospect
- 15:52Speaker 1: than Miles Hinton. That's just my opinion. I've watched him
- 15:57Speaker 1: play at Texas. He came into the league as a
- 15:59Speaker 1: role player, more athletic, and I thought he thought he
- 16:05Speaker 1: fared pretty well in the finale there, much better than
- 16:08Speaker 1: I anticipated. I thought that he was sort of being
- 16:11Speaker 1: tossed in the deep end and it was going to
- 16:14Speaker 1: be problematic for an offense. But and that wasn't the case.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And so all that being said, I think the wildcard
- 16:24Speaker 1: here in the curve ball thrown at Cameron Williams is
- 16:27Speaker 1: the fact that Miles Hinton was cross training at guard
- 16:30Speaker 1: in the spring. We'll see if that continues in camp,
- 16:33Speaker 1: but they have a few players in front of him,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and I was surprised to see him get a lot
- 16:38Speaker 1: of third team reps at tackle in the spring. I
- 16:42Speaker 1: thought that he ended on a high note in the
- 16:44Speaker 1: regular season. But you know what, do I know they
- 16:47Speaker 1: see him every day, they're in meetings with them, and
- 16:50Speaker 1: maybe they have a plan of attack for how they're
- 16:55Speaker 1: going to approach training camp. But all that being said,
- 16:58Speaker 1: Cameron Williams is my offense tackle on the bubble at guard.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm going to go with six round pick Micah Morris
- 17:08Speaker 1: out of the University of Georgia. When you consider the
- 17:13Speaker 1: guard position, when you look at it, you would think
- 17:16Speaker 1: of there as opportunities for players to earn a roster spot,
- 17:20Speaker 1: and you would think in theory that he would have
- 17:24Speaker 1: as good a chance as anyone to earn a roster spot.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But the Eagles did sign veteran Michael Jordan after Mini camp.
- 17:30Speaker 1: He's played in seventy eight games forty nine career starts,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and it's important to note that, with the exception of
- 17:37Speaker 1: the twenty twenty two season, five seasons in which he
- 17:42Speaker 1: was active, he never started fewer than nine games. So
- 17:46Speaker 1: this is an experienced player. He's logged a ton of snaps.
- 17:48Speaker 1: The Eagles don't have a ton of experience there at guard.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And I mean you also have Drew Kendall who can
- 17:56Speaker 1: cross train at guard, and he's going to be your
- 17:58Speaker 1: interior backup, much like Brett was last season. I mentioned
- 18:02Speaker 1: Miles Hinton maybe cross training a little bit. There's another
- 18:05Speaker 1: player who I'm gonna mention at the center position that
- 18:08Speaker 1: could have something to say about it as well. So
- 18:11Speaker 1: Michael Morris is going to have to really take advantage
- 18:13Speaker 1: of his opportunities in training camp because while the names
- 18:17Speaker 1: might not be overly enticing to those listening, and I
- 18:20Speaker 1: understand that they probably they're very unproven, and there's not
- 18:24Speaker 1: really a lot of reason to have that kind of
- 18:26Speaker 1: optimism except for Michael Jordan, who's been a steady player
- 18:31Speaker 1: in his career. But cross training is going to be
- 18:35Speaker 1: big here, so that could put someone like Michael Morris
- 18:39Speaker 1: conceivably on the bubble. So that's where I'm going there.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 18:47Speaker 2: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes

- 19:40Speaker 2: Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 19:42Speaker 1: And then finally, as we close things out, I'm looking
- 19:46Speaker 1: at the center position and the center on the bubble.
- 19:51Speaker 1: That's certainly not going to be Cam Jurgens. It's not
- 19:54Speaker 1: going to be Drew Kendall. It's Jake Majors. And I
- 19:57Speaker 1: chose Jake Majors over Willie Lampkin because I think Jake
- 20:00Speaker 1: Majors is a more pro ready prospect. I think pretty
- 20:04Speaker 1: highly of Jake Majors. I don't know whether or not
- 20:06Speaker 1: he has a realistic chance of making the roster. It's
- 20:09Speaker 1: impossible to say right now without watching so much as
- 20:12Speaker 1: a training camp practice. But Majors, for what it's worth,
- 20:16Speaker 1: on the Eagles website is listed as a center slash
- 20:19Speaker 1: guard and he was cross training at guard in the spring.
- 20:23Speaker 1: So that's another player who could potentially squeeze Michael Morris
- 20:28Speaker 1: if they like the versatility that he showcases. And Jake
- 20:32Speaker 1: Majors is a second year player who's on the Eagles
- 20:35Speaker 1: practice squad for all but one week last season. He's
- 20:39Speaker 1: out of the University of Texas, started a program record
- 20:43Speaker 1: fifty six games there. Highly intelligent player, doesn't have great size.
- 20:49Speaker 1: He's listed at six to three, but I would argue
- 20:51Speaker 1: that he's probably a little shorter than that, and he
- 20:54Speaker 1: doesn't have a ton of a ton of mass, not
- 20:59Speaker 1: saying he's lean, but he's probably in the low three hundreds,
- 21:03Speaker 1: maybe under three to ten. So yeah, I mean, it's
- 21:08Speaker 1: a curious you know, it's a curious position there because
- 21:14Speaker 1: you could make the argument that if you like what
- 21:16Speaker 1: you see from Majors, especially as a guard, you keep
- 21:19Speaker 1: him on the roster with Drew Kendall and maybe you
- 21:23Speaker 1: say goodbye to a Miles Hinton or something like that.
- 21:26Speaker 1: But right now, if you have to pick a center,
- 21:28Speaker 1: I'm not going Willie Lampkin because Willie Lampkin first has
- 21:31Speaker 1: to prove that he's going to offer positional versatility. And
- 21:36Speaker 1: I thought, if you're comparing Willi Lampkin to Jake Majors
- 21:41Speaker 1: off the spring, Jake Majors looks like he's ahead of
- 21:44Speaker 1: Willie Lampkin, I would say pretty significantly. But the good
- 21:49Speaker 1: thing about training camp is that players emerge and a
- 21:51Speaker 1: lot of things change, but as we get closer to
- 21:54Speaker 1: training camp, this is kind of the way that I
- 21:56Speaker 1: see it. I will have the defensive portion for you
- 22:00Speaker 1: or tomorrow or Sunday, but for now, that's gonna do
- 22:02Speaker 1: it for this episode of The Checko Daily, I'm Andrew
- 22:05Speaker 1: de Checko and I'll catch you all on the next one.
