Latest / Tea Time w/Amie & Bev / Episode #338: Too Many Ideas, Not Enough Time
Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hi everybody, welcome to Tea Time with Amy and Bev. Hola.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hola, good day.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hola, good day. How's life? What's lifing right now? Life
- 0:13Speaker 1: is lifing.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Life is lifing. There's like lots of deep stuff that
- 0:17Speaker 2: I guess I contemplate a lot of times, but I'm
- 0:20Speaker 2: doing a bunch of different things. I'm creating something for
- 0:23Speaker 2: kids currently. And it's got like affirmations and dragons and
- 0:29Speaker 2: the pen name will be Grandma Bumblebee. So that's fun too.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Cause that's what I'm called from my little grands. So
- 0:39Speaker 2: that's been a lot of fun and it's been really
- 0:41Speaker 2: time consuming. So it's, I like the creative processes and
- 0:47Speaker 2: then it's, we can just take that little bit of
- 0:49Speaker 2: information and recognize I was noticing that What would happen
- 0:53Speaker 2: to me is I would start getting all this like
- 0:56Speaker 2: energy flowing through me, this creativity, and I would get
- 1:00Speaker 2: all excited, all excited. And I didn't know what to
- 1:02Speaker 2: do with this. And it's like at that moment, all
- 1:05Speaker 2: this information is like flooding into me. I'm like getting
- 1:09Speaker 2: so much. And I know we've talked about this, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: I've never had this experience. I've never had that like
- 1:15Speaker 2: I'm in that passion place. And it's like it kind
- 1:17Speaker 2: of I don't I don't know what to do with it.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And then I got to the place of overwhelm. And
- 1:21Speaker 2: then when I get to overwhelm, it's a shutdown because
- 1:23Speaker 2: I don't know what else to do with all the stuff.
- 1:26Speaker 2: And then for me, when I get to a shutdown,
- 1:28Speaker 2: it's out doing yard work, it's out doing something, moving something,
- 1:32Speaker 2: which is probably moving stuff with inside of me. But
- 1:35Speaker 2: it's amazing that feeling good sends up flags like, oh shit,
- 1:40Speaker 2: Bev probably shouldn't be feeling good right now because that
- 1:43Speaker 2: means she's probably not being a good listener. She's probably
- 1:45Speaker 2: doing her own thing. She's probably, you know, I can
- 1:49Speaker 2: just see myself as that kid and trying to be
- 1:51Speaker 2: all serious. You got to be serious. And all these things,
- 1:54Speaker 2: all these emotions have happened. So it's like I've been
- 1:56Speaker 2: kind of trying to work through that. But at the
- 1:59Speaker 2: same time, I don't want to kill the passion part.
- 2:03Speaker 2: And that's a fear of mine. Like I'm going to
- 2:04Speaker 2: kill that passion because now it's gotten to a heightened
- 2:07Speaker 2: state and I don't know what to do with it.
- 2:10Speaker 2: And it's wild. And I know that we can ask
- 2:12Speaker 2: for things to slow down. but I'll get so many
- 2:14Speaker 2: good ideas. It's like, oh God, oh, I want to
- 2:17Speaker 2: go this direction, this direction. It just feels so good.
- 2:19Speaker 2: And then I end up not feeling so good afterwards.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's almost like I've gone through that whole process of
- 2:27Speaker 2: being the child with the parent and went through that
- 2:30Speaker 2: whole excitement where someone kind of dragged you down a
- 2:32Speaker 2: little bit and that's passing blame, but that's kind of
- 2:35Speaker 2: been the programming. So then the programming was like, oh God,
- 2:38Speaker 2: if we're up here, we got to bring ourselves down here.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Some people might call that bipolar. Other people might just
- 2:44Speaker 2: call it, we got a lot of emotions. We still
- 2:46Speaker 2: got to process and handle at the time. So I'm
- 2:48Speaker 2: in the midst of that stuff these days.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Which direction am I going to get?
- 2:59Speaker 2: But it feels, but it feels right. And that's the
- 3:01Speaker 2: whole thing because it feels so good. I don't know
- 3:04Speaker 2: what to do with it because that's not been my
- 3:06Speaker 2: whole experience. Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 1: This is probably gonna be along the same lines. Um,
- 3:15Speaker 1: if it goes in a different direction, you know, you
- 3:18Speaker 1: can steer me back and say, that's not quite what
- 3:20Speaker 1: I was talking about. Um, but there are times when, uh,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I get, I get something similar. I get a lot of, uh,
- 3:31Speaker 1: information coming at me and I, I do my best
- 3:39Speaker 1: to at least, uh, write it down or put it
- 3:43Speaker 1: in my calendar. So I use my calendar. Um, there's a,
- 3:47Speaker 1: there's a, uh, tab is called tasks. Um, and I just,
- 3:52Speaker 1: it's pretty much a to-do list for me. Um, but
- 3:56Speaker 1: when I get an idea, I'll put it in there
- 4:01Speaker 1: and at least I've made note of it. So don't
- 4:03Speaker 1: forget it. So I can always come back to it
- 4:06Speaker 1: and be expand on it. If I want to, I can, um,
- 4:11Speaker 1: I can give more time and energy and attention to
- 4:16Speaker 1: it if I want to. And it's an opportunity for
- 4:23Speaker 1: us where we acknowledge we are connected to source, where
- 4:27Speaker 1: all this information is coming to us because we are
- 4:29Speaker 1: creative beings. We just recently had this conversation about we
- 4:34Speaker 1: are creative beings. And when we open up that channel
- 4:37Speaker 1: to be creative, and maybe sometimes you don't even think
- 4:41Speaker 1: you're opening up that channel. It just comes, right? It
- 4:43Speaker 1: just like flows right in. You're like, Whoa, what just happened? Um,
- 4:49Speaker 1: that the creativity flows, creative ideas flow to us, but
- 4:59Speaker 1: what we do with that information is up to us. And,
- 5:02Speaker 1: and yes, uh, it could be in different topics, um,
- 5:09Speaker 1: So then like for me, for example, I have to
- 5:13Speaker 1: decide where I want to put my time and energy.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I get a lot of great ideas, but it's like,
- 5:20Speaker 1: what needs my attention right now? And is this something
- 5:24Speaker 1: that this information is coming to me, but I can
- 5:28Speaker 1: look at it later. And that's why I put it
- 5:30Speaker 1: on my either write it down like in a notebook
- 5:35Speaker 1: or I put it on If I don't have a
- 5:37Speaker 1: notebook with me, I definitely will put it in my phone,
- 5:39Speaker 1: in my tasks. So I have so many things listed
- 5:47Speaker 1: in my phone that all would be beneficial for what
- 5:51Speaker 1: I do. But sometimes some of the things I write down,
- 5:55Speaker 1: there's a learning curve. And it's like, well, do I
- 5:57Speaker 1: actually have the capacity right now to learn what I
- 5:59Speaker 1: need to learn to do this? And how much of
- 6:05Speaker 1: that time is going to be taken away from what
- 6:06Speaker 1: I actually need to get done right now? So I
- 6:09Speaker 1: have a lot of discernment in my time with all
- 6:13Speaker 1: of these ideas, but I also don't discount them because
- 6:18Speaker 1: it might be something I could definitely use later.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And I do the same. I use my phone, especially
- 6:27Speaker 2: if I'm driving and I start getting ideas. I've always
- 6:30Speaker 2: got notebooks, like notebooks are, I mean, they're everywhere. And
- 6:33Speaker 2: I do write down a lot of this stuff because
- 6:35Speaker 2: it's like, it's a lot of information, but for me,
- 6:38Speaker 2: it's like dealing with the emotional part of it and
- 6:42Speaker 2: then not talking myself away from it because it feels
- 6:45Speaker 2: good and it's all right for it to feel good.
- 6:48Speaker 2: And it's like, I think there's a little bit of
- 6:50Speaker 2: a fear that something could be taken away, you know,
- 6:53Speaker 2: when I'm in that space too. So you're going along
- 6:55Speaker 2: with it. You weren't off topic at all, really. You're
- 6:59Speaker 2: right on it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Cause it can be all that information can be overwhelming
- 7:03Speaker 1: because it just flows so easily. And if you're not
- 7:07Speaker 1: in a space where you're comfortable with that, it can
- 7:10Speaker 1: be overwhelming. And, and like you were using the example that,
- 7:15Speaker 1: that there's so much comes and then I get overwhelmed
- 7:19Speaker 1: and then I shut down and I go do something
- 7:21Speaker 1: else completely different just to separate from that feeling of overwhelm. Um,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I resonate with that as well. That used to be
- 7:32Speaker 1: my MO. I now have to be very cognizant of
- 7:40Speaker 1: when I feel that coming up in my body, that
- 7:42Speaker 1: sense of overwhelm coming up in my body. And I
- 7:47Speaker 1: just got to take a moment and go, okay, what's
- 7:51Speaker 1: going on? Now I'm starting to be inquisitive about myself.
- 7:54Speaker 1: What is it about this that I'm actually feeling like
- 7:56Speaker 1: I'm being overwhelmed? And then, you know, and you can
- 8:02Speaker 1: sift through that and see what actually is coming up
- 8:06Speaker 1: and what's those underlying stories. But I had one of
- 8:11Speaker 1: my mentors who said at one time several years ago,
- 8:15Speaker 1: she said, a lot of times overwhelm is all the
- 8:21Speaker 1: things you've been asking for showing, not all, but, you know,
- 8:25Speaker 1: a chunk of things showing up. And you're just feel
- 8:29Speaker 1: like you can't keep up with it. And I was like, OK,
- 8:34Speaker 1: I definitely need to be writing this stuff down somewhere,
- 8:36Speaker 1: taking note of it somewhere so I can catch up
- 8:39Speaker 1: to what is coming to me. So I thought that
- 8:44Speaker 1: was a great perspective to embrace.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that. And then what's coming up for
- 8:50Speaker 2: me as we're having the conversation that's like I'm hearing
- 8:53Speaker 2: is I'm trying to control things. I'm not allowing the
- 8:56Speaker 2: flow of things. And it's because I've got a flow
- 8:59Speaker 2: of energy that's flowing into me and I'm just getting
- 9:02Speaker 2: used to what that energy flows like. So I don't
- 9:04Speaker 2: have to panic and shut it down. And because a
- 9:07Speaker 2: lot of us do that, I feel like. And another thing,
- 9:09Speaker 2: when I start going into meditation, I've noticed lately that
- 9:13Speaker 2: I might start feeling nauseated or I might start feeling
- 9:15Speaker 2: all these emotional, not necessarily emotionally, all these energies that
- 9:19Speaker 2: are kind of flowing. And it's kind of almost like
- 9:22Speaker 2: it's acclimating me to a different energy flow. Yeah. So
- 9:27Speaker 2: I'm just recognizing that. So then it's then for that
- 9:30Speaker 2: part of it, then for me, what I can see
- 9:32Speaker 2: me doing is, is I'll still do the notebooks and
- 9:34Speaker 2: all that stuff, but taking the time to breathe in
- 9:36Speaker 2: that space and to enjoy that space to kind of,
- 9:41Speaker 2: you know, feed it, don't kind of shut it down,
- 9:44Speaker 2: but be in the flow with it. Yeah.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Cause another part of that is, you know, we've also had,
- 9:53Speaker 1: have had these conversations where, when when we were in
- 9:57Speaker 1: our childhood, some of our childhood, we didn't get to
- 10:03Speaker 1: live because we had to be the adult at a
- 10:06Speaker 1: very young age. Um, or there was so much going
- 10:09Speaker 1: on that, that we just did not have the space
- 10:13Speaker 1: to be a child and enjoy childhood. Um, and yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 1: We have recently been having conversations about being creative and
- 10:25Speaker 1: being creative beings. And now it's like putting that message
- 10:30Speaker 1: to the universe, like, okay, I'm ready to be creative.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And the universe says, great, let's be creative. And then
- 10:38Speaker 1: all this information flows in those moments where you're driving
- 10:42Speaker 1: or taking a shower or a bath or even doing
- 10:45Speaker 1: yard work. And all this information starts coming. And then
- 10:49Speaker 1: you're just like, what is happening right now? This is
- 10:52Speaker 1: way too much information. This actually happened to me when
- 10:57Speaker 1: I first started this journey of learning about spirituality and
- 11:02Speaker 1: past lives and hypnosis and auras and chakras. And I
- 11:08Speaker 1: was so enthralled in these topics. And I was just
- 11:15Speaker 1: soaking in all the information I could. And at that time,
- 11:19Speaker 1: it was mainly books. And I had so many books
- 11:23Speaker 1: to read. And then I would see people and they're like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, um, I think you'd like this book.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And so somebody else would give me a book and
- 11:30Speaker 1: they just kept the books were piling up. And I
- 11:32Speaker 1: said to the universe, I'm like, okay, listen, universe. I know.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I said, I want to learn this stuff, but I
- 11:38Speaker 1: can't read this fast. I didn't, I didn't take a
- 11:42Speaker 1: speed reading class. So I got to read every word
- 11:45Speaker 1: so I can take it all in. Um, And the
- 11:49Speaker 1: information was just coming to me so rapidly. And I,
- 11:55Speaker 1: and I did, I'm sure at some point in that
- 11:57Speaker 1: time that it was coming to me so quickly and
- 12:00Speaker 1: I was so interested in it, but because it was
- 12:04Speaker 1: coming so fast, like just shut down and put it
- 12:06Speaker 1: all aside for a little while. I just can't take it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: It's too much for me. Right. Um, so similar, um,
- 12:13Speaker 1: So it is, you know, we do need to be
- 12:16Speaker 1: aware that it's not just our creativity. It's other aspects
- 12:19Speaker 1: of our life that once we put that out to
- 12:24Speaker 1: the universe that, okay, I'm ready for this. They're like, okay,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you better be ready because it's coming, right? So you
- 12:34Speaker 1: can't tell the universe, listen, slow down a little sister
- 12:37Speaker 1: because I can only handle so much. I'm still human here.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Or I'll show us how to be able to
- 12:45Speaker 2: assimilate all that. Some of the things I've heard a
- 12:49Speaker 2: couple people say, and I don't know where it came
- 12:50Speaker 2: from exactly, but if you sleep with a book underneath
- 12:53Speaker 2: your pillow, you actually don't. You're like downloading the information. Well,
- 12:57Speaker 2: you think about it. You're laying on that energy of
- 12:59Speaker 2: that book, of that writer, of that whatever it was. So,
- 13:02Speaker 2: of course, if you're going to put something underneath your pillow,
- 13:04Speaker 2: maybe not Stephen King. I'm just saying. Right, right, right. Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 2: maybe Dolores Cannon. Maybe... God, there's probably Sue Hayes. Is
- 13:14Speaker 2: it Sue? Sue Hayes? What's her?
- 13:16Speaker 1: Louise Hay.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Louise Hayes.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Wayne Dyer.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Like, yeah, for sure. Those are the ones that those
- 13:22Speaker 2: are the things you probably want to put underneath your pillow.
- 13:23Speaker 2: But there is ways for us to do that. And
- 13:26Speaker 2: then it's like setting ourselves up. Right. If we just
- 13:28Speaker 2: play with this more, you're helping me to see like, OK, well,
- 13:32Speaker 2: instead I could just say, OK, universe, if this is
- 13:35Speaker 2: the kind of information you want to download so fast
- 13:37Speaker 2: to me, how can I assimilate that? at the same speed?
- 13:41Speaker 2: How can I process that? How can I bring into
- 13:44Speaker 2: creation all these things that you're giving to me in
- 13:46Speaker 2: one moment? Like, how is that possible? Because from this perspective,
- 13:50Speaker 2: from the training that I've received, it's not a possibility,
- 13:53Speaker 2: but in my mind, in my body, I know that
- 13:56Speaker 2: everything is possible. Well then show me. Cause it's like,
- 13:59Speaker 2: I don't fricking know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:01Speaker 2: It's just like, they talk about the people that you
- 14:03Speaker 2: hang around. That's, that's, that's where the energy you're going to,
- 14:07Speaker 2: you're going to be like resonating with. You're going to,
- 14:12Speaker 2: I'm trying to even find the right words. Resonate probably
- 14:14Speaker 2: is going to be, you're going to like tune into,
- 14:16Speaker 2: you're going to now be the metronome too. You're going
- 14:19Speaker 2: to be in balance with that information that's coming to you.
- 14:22Speaker 2: So it's like, are you celebrating and being around people
- 14:24Speaker 2: that are happy and have good information that feels good
- 14:27Speaker 2: to you, that feels uplifting to you, that feels as
- 14:31Speaker 2: excited as I am about creating the things that I'm creating?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Are those the people that I'm hanging around with? And
- 14:37Speaker 2: if I'm not, then it's an asking. OK, universe, I'm
- 14:40Speaker 2: ready to be around or be in the general vicinity
- 14:44Speaker 2: of whether it's a YouTube, a person that I'm talking
- 14:47Speaker 2: to on the phone and at the grocery store, whatever.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Or is it a book? Is it or is it
- 14:53Speaker 2: just me sitting quietly with the information flowing in? And
- 14:56Speaker 2: it's us. We have to listen to. We have all
- 14:58Speaker 2: this asking and stuff, but we also have to listen to,
- 15:01Speaker 2: you know, for the information so that we can assimilate it,
- 15:04Speaker 2: so we can process it, so we can see what
- 15:07Speaker 2: we want to do with it. And it's also realizing
- 15:10Speaker 2: we were raised by doers. And sometimes that sitting quietly
- 15:15Speaker 2: doesn't feel right to doers. And so it's learning how
- 15:19Speaker 2: to not be the doer. And I heard that recently, too.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I think it was a Dolores Cannon thing. She talked
- 15:25Speaker 2: about that, you know, especially for our age group when
- 15:28Speaker 2: we came in, we're actually like generators and stuff. We're creators.
- 15:32Speaker 2: We're not doers. We're not supposed to be out there
- 15:34Speaker 2: doing all this thing. And so from that perspective, that
- 15:37Speaker 2: puts us in a distractive place. It's distraction from what
- 15:41Speaker 2: we actually intended to do when we came here. It's
- 15:45Speaker 2: a habit. We're stepping back onto the routine.
- 15:49Speaker 1: And well, even doers in a generation fashion is our
- 15:56Speaker 1: ancestors were doing things to survive. So they had to keep,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you know, finding where the employment was, where the money's
- 16:05Speaker 1: going to come from so they could pay for their
- 16:08Speaker 1: necessities and raising their families. And then, you know, maybe
- 16:12Speaker 1: before that was the ranching industry or the farming industry
- 16:17Speaker 1: where that's what the families did and they were doers
- 16:21Speaker 1: and there's always something to be done on a ranch
- 16:24Speaker 1: or a farm and it's not okay to sit around.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And so, you know, Before electricity, we had to wash
- 16:34Speaker 1: our hands or clothes by hand. And, you know, there
- 16:37Speaker 1: was a lot of things that needed to be done
- 16:39Speaker 1: on a regular basis. So there is no room for
- 16:42Speaker 1: you to be just sitting because there is a lot
- 16:43Speaker 1: to still be done. So when you think about doers,
- 16:49Speaker 1: I understand what you're saying as far as, you know,
- 16:52Speaker 1: our energetic spiritual being is coming here to such a
- 16:55Speaker 1: time as this for generating energy. the ideas maybe are
- 17:00Speaker 1: holding the space of the things that could be created
- 17:03Speaker 1: to help us in humanity and to expand and grow.
- 17:07Speaker 1: And when we think about it from the human's perspective
- 17:09Speaker 1: of the doers, there's just generations that it was not
- 17:14Speaker 1: okay to sit around. And this is where we got,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you know, where it was ingrained to us to, even
- 17:21Speaker 1: if you have the sniffles or cold, you keep working.
- 17:24Speaker 1: That's not an excuse. You keep going. And so there
- 17:27Speaker 1: was no no um uh space for us to actually
- 17:32Speaker 1: nurture ourselves unless we had a fever and we're down
- 17:35Speaker 1: and out that at that point then yep okay well
- 17:38Speaker 1: all right we'll we'll see maybe you need to get
- 17:43Speaker 1: some rest because you're about ready to die.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Yeah never mind that we probably needed some personal days
- 17:50Speaker 2: when we were kids right and just like it's like
- 17:52Speaker 2: adults and and we're learning that Sometimes when we just
- 17:56Speaker 2: need that personally, we just take the personally, you just
- 17:58Speaker 2: have to, or else the universe creates it for you.
- 18:00Speaker 2: And that's been my experience lately. It's like, no, we're
- 18:02Speaker 2: going to give you a little bit of time here.
- 18:03Speaker 2: So you have time to do this. What we're, what
- 18:06Speaker 2: we're creating together. So it's, it's, and it's, I could
- 18:09Speaker 2: look at it like, oh my God, what am I
- 18:10Speaker 2: going to do? This is what's happening. Or I can
- 18:13Speaker 2: look at it like, okay, exactly how I am. The
- 18:16Speaker 2: universe is creating more time and space for me to
- 18:19Speaker 2: be able to create because it's fun.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and look at it. Here's all the ideas. Pick one.
- 18:25Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It's like opening a menu, right? When you go to
- 18:28Speaker 1: the store or go to the restaurant, you open the menu.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Here's our whole list of things you can order. And
- 18:36Speaker 1: that's not all of it. Like grilled onion, there's raw onions,
- 18:41Speaker 1: but grilled onions may not be on the menu, but
- 18:43Speaker 1: they'll do it if you ask, right? So here's the menu.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Pick one.
- 18:50Speaker 1: So... I know there's a couple of restaurants I go
- 18:54Speaker 1: to and I open the menu. I'm just like, Oh
- 18:56Speaker 1: my gosh, this is, this is too much. It's way
- 19:00Speaker 1: too much. It's it actually, a menu will overwhelm me
- 19:04Speaker 1: and it might be because I'm hungry and I don't
- 19:07Speaker 1: know what I want and everything sounds good or there's
- 19:10Speaker 1: too much to choose from. Like some days the simplicity
- 19:14Speaker 1: of going to, um, you know, the famous burger joint
- 19:19Speaker 1: where that's all they serve. Burgers, drinks, fries, and shakes.
- 19:24Speaker 1: That's it. Then there's the secret menu. If you know
- 19:29Speaker 1: about it.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Right. But then there's the, the restaurant that serves their
- 19:35Speaker 1: wonderful cheesecakes that they have like a four page menu,
- 19:39Speaker 1: ginormous menu. And that's the one that gets me every
- 19:42Speaker 1: time I sit down and I look at that. It's like, wow,
- 19:45Speaker 1: we'll just start with cheesecake. We're just gonna start there.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I'll just I like that. I like that.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I was eat that and then think about what I
- 19:53Speaker 1: want for dinner.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Nice.
- 19:59Speaker 1: So overwhelm, we do have to be very cognizant of
- 20:02Speaker 1: that and how it makes us feel that you know,
- 20:06Speaker 1: your finances can overwhelm you, your Your health can overwhelm you.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Relationships can overwhelm you. But it's really tuning into what
- 20:14Speaker 1: is that overwhelm actually saying? If we were actually to
- 20:19Speaker 1: give it a voice, what is it actually telling us?
- 20:23Speaker 1: And so one other good thing, a good way to
- 20:26Speaker 1: do that is get a pen and paper and say, okay, body,
- 20:34Speaker 1: what is this overwhelming sensation telling me? And let the
- 20:37Speaker 1: body send the message to you through it of what
- 20:40Speaker 1: that is. And just sit with it and see what
- 20:44Speaker 1: comes up. Sometimes the overwhelm is I can't get it
- 20:50Speaker 1: all done. And if I don't get it all done,
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm going to get in trouble. And if I get
- 20:53Speaker 1: in trouble, then I'm not good enough.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Not perfect.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So it's like really taking a look at that. And
- 21:01Speaker 1: there are times I'm a lot better about it now.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Because overwhelm will also create us to procrastinate, which is
- 21:09Speaker 1: the shutdown, put it to the side, come to it later.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Then later when you come back to it, you're like, what?
- 21:16Speaker 1: What was this? I don't remember. Like the whole creative
- 21:19Speaker 1: flow is gone. So you're not even in tune with it.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And then at that point, you just set it aside,
- 21:25Speaker 1: maybe come back to it another time. But overwhelm will
- 21:30Speaker 1: make us procrastinate. And then also procrastination is a form
- 21:34Speaker 1: of control. And it's you're controlling when you're going to
- 21:40Speaker 1: do it. Whether it's now or later, it doesn't matter.
- 21:44Speaker 1: But the procrastination is just, it's too much. I'm overwhelmed
- 21:52Speaker 1: by it. I don't want to touch it right now.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Maybe I'll do it later. But every time you go
- 21:58Speaker 1: to do it, then you distract yourself with something else.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Because the overwhelm is so intense a lot of times
- 22:07Speaker 1: that now you're at a hard deadline. Like prime example,
- 22:14Speaker 1: a lot of people do this with their taxes. Deadlines
- 22:17Speaker 1: next week and they overwhelm the CPAs with all their stuff, right?
- 22:24Speaker 1: With all their receipts in a box. And so... Even
- 22:32Speaker 1: in my own life, if I start to feel like
- 22:36Speaker 1: it's too much, I will take a step back and go, okay.
- 22:42Speaker 1: My go-to is make a list of the things I have.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I will take the tasks out of my phone and
- 22:49Speaker 1: I will put it in a notebook and I just
- 22:53Speaker 1: list them all out. And then I start with the
- 22:56Speaker 1: top three things that need my attention. And I put
- 22:59Speaker 1: a one, two, and three. Which one am I going
- 23:00Speaker 1: to do first, second, third? Get those done. Then what's
- 23:04Speaker 1: the next three? And I just use that process to
- 23:07Speaker 1: keep me focused. Works quite well for myself.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I like that. No, you've had some good ideas. I've
- 23:15Speaker 2: written them down. I've written them down. And it's also, remember,
- 23:20Speaker 2: when I get into that space, even before I start
- 23:22Speaker 2: to do the creativity, just take the breaths. Because otherwise
- 23:26Speaker 2: I might be leaving off or signing back on where
- 23:29Speaker 2: I left off the last time. And I don't want
- 23:31Speaker 2: to do that. I want to start fresh and new
- 23:34Speaker 2: with when I come into that moment instead of where
- 23:36Speaker 2: I left off because I might have left off with overwhelm.
- 23:39Speaker 2: And so that right there kind of kills the momentum
- 23:43Speaker 2: of the creativity, the fun. And so if I can
- 23:47Speaker 2: take the time to just take some breaths before, to
- 23:50Speaker 2: meditate maybe for five minutes, to maybe walk around the
- 23:53Speaker 2: house a couple of times, you know, outside and then
- 23:56Speaker 2: come back inside and sit without having to be gone
- 23:59Speaker 2: with it for so long. And then setting my intentions
- 24:00Speaker 2: prior to, it's like this whole process. And I think
- 24:04Speaker 2: that sometimes it connects so easily that we want to
- 24:07Speaker 2: connect that easily every time. But sometimes I'm not in
- 24:10Speaker 2: the same space to sit down and receive that information.
- 24:13Speaker 2: So it is setting myself up for the information, just
- 24:15Speaker 2: like we would set ourselves up for the next day
- 24:17Speaker 2: or set ourselves up when we go to sleep at night.
- 24:21Speaker 2: There are so many different ways that we can be
- 24:23Speaker 2: processing the information that we're sharing right now. And then
- 24:26Speaker 2: it's like, you've got to implement it. You don't have to,
- 24:28Speaker 2: but you can implement it and then use the bits
- 24:31Speaker 2: and pieces that do work for you, for each person,
- 24:33Speaker 2: not for you, obviously, because, but for everybody that's listening
- 24:37Speaker 2: to this, because there's so much, it's like, I've got
- 24:40Speaker 2: all this knowledge and information with inside of me and
- 24:43Speaker 2: I can connect to, but it's also good for me
- 24:45Speaker 2: to hear the way you, your processes on it and
- 24:48Speaker 2: how you would like to approach it or how you
- 24:50Speaker 2: have approached it. Cause that gives me some different ideas.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Yeah, because I'll tell you, when I have a page
- 24:56Speaker 1: of to-dos, that's what we're, and I just look at
- 25:00Speaker 1: it and go, oh my God, I got to get
- 25:02Speaker 1: all this done.
- 25:02Speaker 2: No, I don't.
- 25:05Speaker 1: No, you don't.
- 25:06Speaker 2: You got a lot of stuff on your books.
- 25:08Speaker 1: No, I don't. But there are some things that I
- 25:13Speaker 1: can get my attention to right now and get it done.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And a lot of times when we get those, especially
- 25:19Speaker 1: the bigger tasks that, can create us to feel overwhelmed
- 25:27Speaker 1: and put it off. Once we get those done, how
- 25:29Speaker 1: good we feel and excited that it is complete. And
- 25:36Speaker 1: then the next few tasks are like, boom, boom, boom, done.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So sometimes, and I've heard other teachers say this, it's like,
- 25:48Speaker 1: take the biggest thing and get it done first. Just
- 25:51Speaker 1: get it done. Because then all the other things after that,
- 25:54Speaker 1: it's going to be super simple. And it'll go by quickly.
- 25:59Speaker 1: So it's those bigger tasks that are sitting there that
- 26:03Speaker 1: are really bothering you. And it's in the back of
- 26:07Speaker 1: your mind. It's just the little naggy voice, right? I'm
- 26:10Speaker 1: still here. You're not done with me. I still need
- 26:12Speaker 1: to be completed. When are you going to give me
- 26:15Speaker 1: some attention? It just gets continuous. And that's annoying also.
- 26:22Speaker 1: And there's times that things like that come up for me.
- 26:25Speaker 1: I'm just like, all right, I just clear the space.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I don't care what else is on my plate. I
- 26:30Speaker 1: got to get this done because once I'm done with this,
- 26:32Speaker 1: you'll stop nagging me. It's my own little voice in
- 26:35Speaker 1: there is doing it. So stop nagging myself. So, so
- 26:40Speaker 1: sometimes those bigger tasks, it's more important to get those done,
- 26:43Speaker 1: even though it can be, can seem so big.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Agreed.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yeah. All right, friends, overwhelm, pay attention, listen to your
- 26:56Speaker 1: body and let your body speak from a space of
- 26:59Speaker 1: what that actually is meaning to you. And just kind
- 27:03Speaker 1: of sit with it and sift through it. Because when
- 27:05Speaker 1: you have the self-awareness around it and take the time
- 27:09Speaker 1: to tune into what the message actually is, then when
- 27:12Speaker 1: it shows up again, you'll be on top of it
- 27:15Speaker 1: quicker and and recognize, oh, this is just that old
- 27:20Speaker 1: story of the I'm not good enough, because I didn't
- 27:23Speaker 1: get it done. Or I can't get it done. And
- 27:29Speaker 1: give yourself some ease and grace, but also use the tips, tricks,
- 27:34Speaker 1: tactics that we've shared. Or maybe you learned something else
- 27:38Speaker 1: to use some other tool to use to help you
- 27:41Speaker 1: prioritize and stay focused and get some things done. So
- 27:48Speaker 1: So you feel that sense of accomplishment and feel good
- 27:52Speaker 1: that it has been completed instead of just keep beating
- 27:55Speaker 1: yourself up because it's not. That's no fun.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah. So the journey, right? That would be my thoughts
- 28:04Speaker 2: for today. It's for us to enjoy that journey. That's
- 28:07Speaker 2: for me. And it's for all of us. But it's
- 28:09Speaker 2: for to enjoy the journey to get there. It's not
- 28:12Speaker 2: the you start right here and then it's completed. It's like,
- 28:16Speaker 2: that's what I've forgotten. just to enjoy the journey to
- 28:19Speaker 2: get to that point. Cause it's been fun. It's actually
- 28:21Speaker 2: opening up this, my kid was inside of me, welcoming
- 28:25Speaker 2: my inner child back inside. Let's play, let's do this stuff.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Cause that's who I call upon when I'm sitting with
- 28:30Speaker 2: her also. I got my picture here of myself as
- 28:33Speaker 2: a child and I'm like looking at myself and I'm like, okay,
- 28:36Speaker 2: how do you want to, how do you want to
- 28:37Speaker 2: play today? How do you want to show up? What
- 28:38Speaker 2: kind of information are you going to have? And I'm
- 28:41Speaker 2: writing down so much information as we're having this conversation
- 28:44Speaker 2: because there's, because there's a flow. Because the dam has
- 28:48Speaker 2: been removed. Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 1: And I will say, for me, 100% of the time,
- 28:54Speaker 1: it's not about the completion. It is about the journey.
- 28:59Speaker 1: It's about the joy of the creativity along the way.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And an actor is a prime example, or an author
- 29:08Speaker 1: is a prime example. They got the award, now what? Well,
- 29:12Speaker 1: now they need to figure out What's going to fulfill
- 29:17Speaker 1: them next? They did the journey to get the award.
- 29:21Speaker 1: They did the journey to get the book. The book's
- 29:24Speaker 1: a bestseller. Great. Now what? Well, now I can take
- 29:27Speaker 1: that book and create a workbook. I can take that
- 29:29Speaker 1: book and promote it for group coaching. I can take that, right?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Now there's another journey beginning. So now the book's completed.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Now what journey am I going to go on with
- 29:43Speaker 1: the book from this point forward if I do a
- 29:45Speaker 1: journey with that book? Maybe it's creating another book or
- 29:49Speaker 1: something else over here on my to-do list, right? It's
- 29:53Speaker 1: always about the journey to the completion. It's never about
- 29:56Speaker 1: the completion. 100%. Because we are creative beings and we
- 30:04Speaker 1: want to be in a creative mode. So once something
- 30:07Speaker 1: is completed, your brain, your body will say automatically, what's next?
- 30:14Speaker 1: And you will start filling that time that you had
- 30:17Speaker 1: being creative to create something else.
- 30:23Speaker 2: And so my question would be, universe, what do we
- 30:25Speaker 2: want to create next? That's what I'm writing down now. Yeah.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And be careful with that.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Just saying. Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 1: They're like, oh, you want to go sister? Let's go.
- 30:39Speaker 1: We have a list for you.
- 30:41Speaker 2: But that's the fun of the journey because we don't have,
- 30:43Speaker 2: we don't have all the remembering or all the knowledge
- 30:46Speaker 2: of how do we stop? How do we control this?
- 30:48Speaker 2: How do we do all this stuff? And so that's
- 30:50Speaker 2: the journey. It's too, how boring would it be is
- 30:52Speaker 2: if we, if we accomplish, we have this idea and
- 30:55Speaker 2: it's accomplished just like that. I mean, I say that
- 30:58Speaker 2: could be boring, but it could be fun because we
- 31:00Speaker 2: could keep creating continually like that. But it's that part
- 31:04Speaker 2: in between of all the knowledge and information that we
- 31:06Speaker 2: gained from doing that. My example would be, I'm talking
- 31:10Speaker 2: to my grandson because I'm showing him the stuff that
- 31:13Speaker 2: I'm creating and I want his feedback. And I said,
- 31:16Speaker 2: thank you for your feedback. And then I looked at
- 31:18Speaker 2: him and I said, do you know what feedback is?
- 31:19Speaker 2: And he says, I don't. And I said, so then
- 31:21Speaker 2: I explained it to him what feedback was and what
- 31:23Speaker 2: he was giving me. I said, you're giving me more
- 31:25Speaker 2: information by telling me what you like and you don't like,
- 31:29Speaker 2: which he liked all of it so that I can
- 31:31Speaker 2: do things differently. He's like, I like the wording that
- 31:34Speaker 2: you use in here. I like the messages you're getting.
- 31:35Speaker 2: We're talking about a nine-year-old, but we underestimate. And so
- 31:38Speaker 2: it's an opportunity for me to learn, but that's part
- 31:41Speaker 2: of the journey. That's the whole fun of the whole journey.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Cause it's like, if I did it all by myself,
- 31:45Speaker 2: then I wouldn't have been able to explore that and
- 31:48Speaker 2: be excited about that and have fun with that.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yep. Yep. Yep. Yep. And I'm going to add one
- 31:55Speaker 1: little caveat to what you said, because this could be
- 31:57Speaker 1: a whole nother conversation, is your teachers and speakers, and
- 32:08Speaker 1: this goes back generations, not generations, years, decades, let's say decades,
- 32:18Speaker 1: that when you are talking about something, you talk in
- 32:23Speaker 1: the vocabulary and in a way that a fifth grader
- 32:28Speaker 1: can understand it. So be a very simple speaker or presenter.
- 32:37Speaker 1: And if you can't explain what you do to a
- 32:39Speaker 1: fifth grader, then you need to revisit what you're doing
- 32:42Speaker 1: and figure it out so you can explain it to them.
- 32:48Speaker 1: And I was like, and in fact, I just heard
- 32:49Speaker 1: that again this morning. I was like, okay. I like
- 32:52Speaker 1: simple things. So I'm like, I try to keep things
- 32:54Speaker 1: very simple and in simple language so people understand. That's
- 32:59Speaker 1: the way I learn. And obviously that's the way a
- 33:02Speaker 1: majority of the population learns. So, so that's cool. I
- 33:07Speaker 1: love that you're getting his input and that he's interested in,
- 33:12Speaker 1: in helping you along your journey of being creative. That's
- 33:15Speaker 1: a great partnership.
- 33:16Speaker 2: It is. Well, because I'm doing it with both the grandkids.
- 33:19Speaker 2: So it's like, it's, it is pretty odd. It's fun.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It's fun. That's awesome. All right, friends, we talked about overwhelm, creativity, control, outcomes,
- 33:29Speaker 1: opening the flow of the universe, stopping the flow of
- 33:31Speaker 1: the universe. We have a lot of information here and
- 33:34Speaker 1: gave you some tools, tips, techniques. So take what resonates
- 33:38Speaker 1: with you and leave the rest behind. You can always
- 33:40Speaker 1: come back and revisit if you think that something else
- 33:45Speaker 1: got your attention and you need to listen to it again.
- 33:49Speaker 1: You can do that with videos, podcasts, speakers, books. How
- 33:55Speaker 1: many times have you listened to a song and then
- 33:57Speaker 1: you go back and listen to it again? You're like, wait,
- 33:59Speaker 1: is that what they said? So just know you can
- 34:05Speaker 1: revisit the videos and materials to help you along your journey.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And there are other people in this world, probably your
- 34:14Speaker 1: closest friends and co-workers, family members, who may be inquisitive
- 34:19Speaker 1: about these same topics. And so be resourceful, maybe plant
- 34:24Speaker 1: the seeds and then just share the content, share the links,
- 34:27Speaker 1: share the books, whether it's us or anybody else. So
- 34:31Speaker 1: it just helps us continue to grow and learn and
- 34:33Speaker 1: expand together. And that's what we're here for, to be
- 34:37Speaker 1: supportive of one another. That's why Bev and I come
- 34:39Speaker 1: and have these conversations. Obviously we are not pros at
- 34:42Speaker 1: our editing or, or marketing or anything else when it
- 34:47Speaker 1: comes to this, uh, channel. Um, but we show up
- 34:51Speaker 1: every week. So there's that.
- 34:56Speaker 2: So you can.
- 34:56Speaker 1: Find us on many platforms. We're on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Spotify, podcast, attic,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and speaker. Um, so you can find us in many
- 35:04Speaker 1: areas and connect with us. Uh, so with that, we
- 35:08Speaker 1: will say, thanks for hanging out with us. Tea time
- 35:11Speaker 1: with Amy and Bev, and we'll see you next time.
- 35:14Speaker 2: See you later.
