- 0:07Speaker 1: This podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:12Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer Newhart, and today
- 0:16Speaker 2: we're joined by Jannis, Randall, Brody, Laura, Nate and Marge.
- 0:20Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 0:22Speaker 2: meat eaters for verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking.
- 0:26Speaker 2: And there's a prize. Meat Eater will donate five hundred
- 0:29Speaker 2: dollars to the conservation organization of the winner's choosing. For
- 0:32Speaker 2: our last set of the week, we looked at performance
- 0:35Speaker 2: in the hunting category over the last year. As a reminder,
- 0:38Speaker 2: Jannis led the group by getting eighty percent of hunting
- 0:42Speaker 2: questions correct. This week we're looking at fishing. Here are
- 0:45Speaker 2: the top five. Can we guess first? Yeah, go for it, Brody, Brody,
- 0:49Speaker 2: give me number one. Number one is Brody Henderson. He
- 0:52Speaker 2: gets seventy two percent of questions, so infrequently he is there.
- 0:59Speaker 2: He's there, Okay, So I'm gonna go fishing. I'll give
- 1:04Speaker 2: it to Steve. Number two. Steve is tied for number three.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It goes. Number five is Giannis at sixty five percent.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Steve and Tony Peterson at sixty seven percent, Randall at
- 1:17Speaker 2: sixty eight percent, and then Brody at seventy He's not
- 1:21Speaker 2: in the top five for fishingations.
- 1:24Speaker 3: He's really good at fishing, which is generally like comparatively
- 1:27Speaker 3: to other categories, is good at fishing, but overall he's
- 1:30Speaker 3: probably lower.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Than Thank you, good job, Randall. Now amazingly, Brody, seventy
- 1:35Speaker 2: two percent is what you also do at hunting. So
- 1:37Speaker 2: seventy two percent and the hunting questions and seventy two
- 1:40Speaker 2: percent fishing question.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You know what is Brodie's worst category?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Well, we'll find out. We'll do conservation next week and
- 1:48Speaker 2: cooking the week after that.
- 1:51Speaker 4: I think conservation is the hardest category.
- 1:53Speaker 2: But I bet you, I bet you. For me, it's
- 1:55Speaker 2: cooking Randall.
- 1:57Speaker 5: Yeah, no, yeah, for everybody besides the historian of conservation. Yes,
- 2:03Speaker 5: it's the hardest category.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Would be easy for me. I ever recognized that some
- 2:09Speaker 1: areas I have weaknesses.
- 2:10Speaker 6: You always complain about fishing for me and your number
- 2:14Speaker 6: two number two.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But you're still beating me, So why would.
- 2:17Speaker 7: I stop complaining.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I think conservation could be the harder for some people.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I think it's the biggest though, and I think it's
- 2:23Speaker 2: the easiest for others. If you are a spouse who's
- 2:26Speaker 2: held hostage listening to this show, I appreciate that you
- 2:29Speaker 2: were here and you're giving us your time. But also
- 2:32Speaker 2: I bet their strongest category would be cooking or conservation,
- 2:35Speaker 2: because it's so far beyond just the core hooking.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Bullet speak of I don't know. I just think you're
- 2:42Speaker 1: making gender based assumptions.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Speaking of.
- 2:47Speaker 7: Spouse episode, are.
- 2:48Speaker 2: You we are in April? We are going to have
- 2:51Speaker 2: our next installment?
- 2:52Speaker 7: Do you get my gal?
- 2:54Speaker 2: No, she declined the invite. Then she was young. She accepted, yes, yeah,
- 2:58Speaker 2: good girl, we.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Have to we have to defend our championship.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Ed bo did not get the invite, but well, we
- 3:05Speaker 2: got to figure out how to include headbone something said.
- 3:08Speaker 8: Fu, yeah we we okay.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Interesting the Williams household is still reigning champs. In one
- 3:14Speaker 1: realm of Trivia.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I saw i'd Boe in the parking lot the other
- 3:17Speaker 2: day and I was pounding on my window to get
- 3:19Speaker 2: his attention. It didn't work, so didn't get to wave
- 3:22Speaker 2: to ed Bow. All right, we have an IFAQ today.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Charlie McDonald says, I know you have regulars that send
- 3:28Speaker 2: in a lot of listener submitted questions, But do they
- 3:31Speaker 2: make up the majority of submissions? Do you have a
- 3:33Speaker 2: lot of people that are one hit wonders and send
- 3:35Speaker 2: in one question ever or is it mostly repeat customers.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I don't have a great scientific way to answer this, Charlie.
- 3:41Speaker 2: We do have Leland and Titus, who are the meat
- 3:44Speaker 2: eater Trivia question goats that send me all kinds of questions.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But if I'm looking at today's script, I have four
- 3:49Speaker 2: listener questions this week. One was sent by a listener
- 3:53Speaker 2: who has sent me fourteen emails and they have been
- 3:56Speaker 2: featured on the show on the show before. The other
- 3:58Speaker 2: three questions that I picked are all first time emailers.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I have not sent me a question before or after that,
- 4:05Speaker 2: including our listener question of the week today was won
- 4:08Speaker 2: by someone who's only ever sent me one email. So
- 4:11Speaker 2: one hit wonders make up a lot of what we
- 4:14Speaker 2: have here, Charlie. All right, we also have some housekeeping
- 4:17Speaker 2: to get to. On a previous episode of Trivia, Brody
- 4:20Speaker 2: asked about the pantry staple that fly Anglers used to
- 4:24Speaker 2: keep their rod guides from icing up. Marge and Laura,
- 4:27Speaker 2: you guys weren't here that day, but your fly anglers
- 4:30Speaker 2: do you know what that answer would be, Well, I.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Use chaps chapstick or chapstick cooking staking oil.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Okay, good answer, Laura. The answer. The correct answer was PAM.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But there was some arguing afterwards. Giannis said Chrisco and
- 4:49Speaker 2: I said olive oil, and neither one of us got
- 4:52Speaker 2: it right. Well, a few listeners wrote in to come
- 4:54Speaker 2: to our defense. Chrisco does make spraying cooking oil and
- 4:59Speaker 2: PAM does make spraying olive oil. Phil has pictures of
- 5:02Speaker 2: them on the screen. There, both of these products right
- 5:06Speaker 2: behind you, Brody.
- 5:07Speaker 6: If you arguing that they don't make that stuff, I'm
- 5:10Speaker 6: arguing that you use PAM.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It would be like saying makes something.
- 5:16Speaker 7: It's like, that's not that's not the like have you
- 5:21Speaker 7: worked in a fly shop?
- 5:23Speaker 9: Okay, So when someone walks in a fly shop and
- 5:26Speaker 9: they're like, man, the guides on my rod were icing
- 5:29Speaker 9: up today, and you're like, hey, you know what you
- 5:32Speaker 9: can use for that. Just go to the grocery store
- 5:34Speaker 9: and get some PAM.
- 5:36Speaker 7: PAM.
- 5:37Speaker 2: But PAM makes look at that, Brody spray.
- 5:39Speaker 3: When you talk about that answer, when you talk about
- 5:42Speaker 3: Coca Cola makes a lot of things. When you say coke,
- 5:46Speaker 3: you're picturing a red can. Likewise, the same thing with Crisco.
- 5:51Speaker 3: When you say Crisco, someone says, give me some Crisco.
- 5:55Speaker 3: You picture the tub of crisco. You don't see Do
- 5:58Speaker 3: you want the spray on Crisco? They make all kinds
- 6:01Speaker 3: of things, right, you get me a coke? What do
- 6:04Speaker 3: you want a sprite?
- 6:05Speaker 1: Pretty?
- 6:07Speaker 10: And have that point?
- 6:08Speaker 2: That's true.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Important? Do you take the points we got? Then you
- 6:13Speaker 7: got to give Cory a point.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, of course Corey can join us. Corey said oil,
- 6:17Speaker 2: and now the question is meaningless.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Yeah, if it really mattered, just some hydrophobe, any hydrophobic substance.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It didn't change the outcome right game, I don't think
- 6:28Speaker 2: it did. Who somebody won outright? Then?
- 6:30Speaker 7: Randall?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Rand think I remember correct?
- 6:35Speaker 7: Did you get Pam?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:36Speaker 7: There you go.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I was not behind you because because he got the question.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Right, because like I just I mean, I feel like
- 6:43Speaker 3: if you picked up a field and stream in the
- 6:45Speaker 3: nineties and they'd be like how to keep your like
- 6:48Speaker 3: it would be in like the tips and tricks section.
- 6:50Speaker 3: It would just say Pam and you have the picture
- 6:52Speaker 3: of Pam's ray bottle?
- 6:54Speaker 7: Gets it?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Shelby Inexperts don't a five, So I'm putting us on
- 7:01Speaker 2: perfect game alert and with that we're onto the round
- 7:03Speaker 2: of trivia.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Play the drop fill.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Look, I need.
- 7:09Speaker 1: To know what I stay under wind everything? How's that?
- 7:13Speaker 1: Just tend to win everything?
- 7:22Speaker 7: Game?
- 7:22Speaker 2: On Suckers. Question one, the topic is fishing, and as always,
- 7:26Speaker 2: this will be multiple choice. Ten of the last eleven
- 7:30Speaker 2: bass Master Classics have been held in this month March, May,
- 7:38Speaker 2: July or September. Ten of the last eleven bass Master
- 7:46Speaker 2: Classics have been held in this month March, May, July, September.
- 7:55Speaker 7: Do you know, Laura? I don't, but I have an opinion.
- 7:58Speaker 7: I guess, Okay, I feel good about is it a
- 8:01Speaker 7: spring summer or I don't know?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Bass Master. Ten of the last eleven bass Master Classics
- 8:10Speaker 2: have been held in this month. Your four choices. March, May, July, September. Brody,
- 8:16Speaker 2: do you have this one? Right?
- 8:17Speaker 4: Oh?
- 8:17Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 8:19Speaker 7: You know, I don't. I don't really follow the bass
- 8:23Speaker 7: tour stuff at all.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Randal, do you have this one?
- 8:28Speaker 1: No? I don't.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I don't chance based on what I know of this,
- 8:34Speaker 3: which is very little. And then also, you know, professional sports,
- 8:38Speaker 3: the series just get longer, and the seasons get longer
- 8:41Speaker 3: and longer over time, so I don't know.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Ten of the last she did not have been held
- 8:49Speaker 2: in this month. March, May, July, September. It's everybody ready,
- 8:53Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your answers. Gianna says September, Nate
- 8:57Speaker 2: says September, Randall says July, Marge, July, Laura May, Brodie May.
- 9:05Speaker 2: The correct answer is March, no money.
- 9:09Speaker 7: I got that one.
- 9:10Speaker 6: See, I thought that might have been it, but I
- 9:12Speaker 6: haven't heard Seth talking about.
- 9:14Speaker 1: It, so I thought they just started.
- 9:16Speaker 2: The fast Master Classic was a fall event from nineteen
- 9:19Speaker 2: seventy one to nineteen eighty three, a summer event from
- 9:23Speaker 2: nineteen eighty four to two thousand and six, and a
- 9:26Speaker 2: late winter event ever since, besides a COVID year. The
- 9:30Speaker 2: March bass Master Classic kicks off tournament season similar to
- 9:33Speaker 2: the Masters in golf or the Daytona five hundred in NASCAR.
- 9:37Speaker 2: This year's tournament is happening right now on the Tennessee River.
- 9:40Speaker 2: It will conclude on Sunday, March fifteen, way and is
- 9:44Speaker 2: happening as we speak.
- 9:45Speaker 7: But bast Master.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Bast Master is predicting that Easton Father Gill will end
- 9:51Speaker 2: day one with a one pound lead over the rest
- 9:53Speaker 2: of the field.
- 9:54Speaker 6: You know, it makes sense that wouldn't be May because
- 9:56Speaker 6: then those dudes would just be ripping big crumbs off beds.
- 10:00Speaker 1: They'd be big and fat.
- 10:01Speaker 4: And yeah, that's why I didn't choose man.
- 10:03Speaker 2: A Winter Tournament is a good text.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I knew it was happening now because Seth posted about
- 10:07Speaker 1: it this morning.
- 10:09Speaker 2: But okay, I was thinking, what was your answer?
- 10:12Speaker 3: I was thinking about it as like a series. I
- 10:15Speaker 3: wasn't thinking about it as a three day event. I
- 10:17Speaker 3: was thinking about it as like the one I I
- 10:19Speaker 3: misread is like the last, as like this the season finale.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I just, in hindsight, it's really stupid.
- 10:29Speaker 7: There's Beth's favorite angler is another Seth, isn't.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It Seth fried or who? I think I think he
- 10:35Speaker 2: likes a cigarette. He loves smoking SIGs.
- 10:38Speaker 7: Yeah, that guy. I think.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I think there's sixty anglers in the field. He's in
- 10:42Speaker 2: like fifty eight.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I think Seth likes Brandon.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Uh, what's Brandon Paulinick Brandon? I think was forty six
- 10:48Speaker 2: last I checked. So someone is standing on a stage
- 10:52Speaker 2: right now holding two large.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Seth was watching that this morning with his infant child
- 10:56Speaker 1: and posted about it.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Good start to that kid's life. Question to the topic
- 11:00Speaker 2: is hunting This next great question is via Brandon Peachey.
- 11:05Speaker 2: This game call company was created after its founder saw
- 11:09Speaker 2: predator Hunters using a boombox to call in foxes. We
- 11:15Speaker 2: will have no perfect game today with every player getting
- 11:19Speaker 2: question one wrong. Brody and Nate look like they have
- 11:23Speaker 2: question two right. This game call company was created after
- 11:28Speaker 2: its founder saw predator Hunters using a boombox to call
- 11:32Speaker 2: in foxes. Yanni, do you have this one right? I
- 11:37Speaker 2: believe so, Brody, I think so.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I hope so.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Randall's still thinking there. Oh. All I know is they
- 11:46Speaker 2: make coyote hunt a lot more fun question two. This
- 11:50Speaker 2: game call company was created after its founder saw predator
- 11:54Speaker 2: Hunters using a boombox call in foxes.
- 11:58Speaker 5: You know not Seth has his for young child. We
- 12:01Speaker 5: could test this thing that we keep talking about. How
- 12:03Speaker 5: would you wonder if screaming young and would bring in predators?
- 12:07Speaker 5: Because when you hear them go, it sounds just like
- 12:10Speaker 5: a predator call.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't miss that noise. This game call company
- 12:20Speaker 2: was created after its founder saw Predator Hunters using a
- 12:23Speaker 2: boombox to call in foxes. I would like to see
- 12:25Speaker 2: that scene. I'd like to see somebody out there with
- 12:27Speaker 2: the boombox.
- 12:31Speaker 11: Talking about holding up a baby style.
- 12:34Speaker 2: That'll be the test boombox versus baby Yeah. Is everybody ready?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers? Yiannis and Nate say
- 12:44Speaker 2: Fox Pro. Randall says Fox Marge drew us a nice boombox.
- 12:48Speaker 2: That's that's very good, mar Laura without an answer, Brody
- 12:51Speaker 2: says fox Pro. The correct answer is fox Pro.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Does Steve have one of these?
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yep?
- 12:56Speaker 7: I've definitely filmed this and just paid no.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Fox Pro was created in Pennsylvania in nineteen ninety five.
- 13:06Speaker 2: The founder watched his sons go fox hunting with a
- 13:08Speaker 2: boombox that played distressed animal calls from cassette tapes and
- 13:12Speaker 2: determined he could make a product for that. Thus fox
- 13:15Speaker 2: Pro was born. They debuted the FX three caller in
- 13:19Speaker 2: two thousand and five, which caused their sales to explode
- 13:22Speaker 2: and change the digital game call market forever. Question three
- 13:26Speaker 2: the topic is wildlife. This seven letter shark is the
- 13:31Speaker 2: world's second largest fish. This seven letter shark is the
- 13:39Speaker 2: world's second largest fish. Brody already has his answer. Randall
- 13:46Speaker 2: started to write something, but he's still thinking. Was it
- 13:50Speaker 2: not a seven letter word?
- 13:52Speaker 1: That's correct?
- 13:53Speaker 2: This seven letter shark is the world's second largest fish.
- 13:57Speaker 6: I bury into said, okay, very very.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Much advantage Brodie, Marge, do you have this one? Okay,
- 14:04Speaker 2: shaking your head, yes, seven letter shark is the world's
- 14:09Speaker 2: second largest fish. Easy, easy, I like that.
- 14:15Speaker 7: I agree, Mars pretty easy.
- 14:19Speaker 2: N Nate and Randall struggling. Oh, this seven letter shark
- 14:26Speaker 2: is the world's second largest fish.
- 14:29Speaker 7: Well, they're not going to get let's just turn them over.
- 14:32Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, seven letter word. Randal in danger of
- 14:36Speaker 2: starting zero for three today.
- 14:38Speaker 7: I can only think of five, six or ten letter words.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Maybe you're spelling them wrong. Yanni, do you have an answer?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Is it right? I don't know? Okay, seven letter sharks?
- 14:55Speaker 5: But I think I maybe saw a picture of said
- 14:57Speaker 5: fish in this Oh boy earlier, but I didn't stop
- 15:02Speaker 5: to read the caption.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yanni is looking at Kimmy Werner's cookbook in front of him,
- 15:07Speaker 2: and maybe he saw this.
- 15:08Speaker 4: There was a picture of her swimming with this shark.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Sir, second largest fish. That didn't help you, Randall.
- 15:18Speaker 5: This book just came out It's not like rand.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Brodie, We're just having fun here.
- 15:27Speaker 7: I want to win big whatever, Randall, do you give up? Nate,
- 15:32Speaker 7: do you give up?
- 15:34Speaker 2: You can go ahead and reveal your answers. Joanna says leopard.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Nate says Whaley Randall without an answer. Marge says basking.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Laura without an answer. Brody says basking. The correct answer
- 15:49Speaker 2: is basking shark.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Nice and they congregate off Great Britain. Oh.
- 15:55Speaker 2: The basking shark can reach up to forty feet long
- 15:58Speaker 2: and five tons, making it second only to the whale shark.
- 16:01Speaker 2: They are slow moving filter feeders who like to be
- 16:04Speaker 2: near the surface, which makes it appear as though they
- 16:07Speaker 2: are basking in the sun. They are listed as an
- 16:09Speaker 2: endangered species on the IUCN Red List due to the
- 16:12Speaker 2: overfishing for the value of their fins. Question for the
- 16:17Speaker 2: topic is conservation. This eighteen forty nine event caused a
- 16:22Speaker 2: mass migration to the Sierra Nevadas and led to widespread
- 16:26Speaker 2: persecution of the regions grizzly bears. This is question four
- 16:35Speaker 2: conservation questions for our non hooken bullet OH listeners. This
- 16:39Speaker 2: eighteen forty nine event caused a mass migration to the
- 16:43Speaker 2: Sierra Nevadas and led to widespread persecution of the regions
- 16:47Speaker 2: grizzly bears. Brody, Randall, Nate, Yanni. I'll have their answers,
- 16:56Speaker 2: easy easy. Nate has declared, uh oh, Randall, big history,
- 17:01Speaker 2: a gay. Let's see what Let's see what you say, Margaret,
- 17:04Speaker 2: drawing to argue he knows too much about history.
- 17:09Speaker 1: That's his problem.
- 17:11Speaker 2: I could they could create an issue, Laura, do you
- 17:13Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 17:14Speaker 7: No?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Okay, Margin, do you have this one right? I want
- 17:17Speaker 2: to I want some controversy.
- 17:19Speaker 7: Yeah, bring the controversy please.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I think it's good. This eighteen forty nine event caused
- 17:24Speaker 2: a mass migration to the Sierra Nevadas and led to
- 17:27Speaker 2: widespread persecution of the region's grizzly.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question, Spencer. I might be wrong.
- 17:34Speaker 3: What year did Sutter's Mill happen?
- 17:37Speaker 2: I'm not going to answer that. Go ahead and reveal
- 17:40Speaker 2: your answers. Giannis says the gold Rush, Nate gold Rush,
- 17:44Speaker 2: Randall gold Rush, marg the California gold Rush. Laura says
- 17:50Speaker 2: the treaty. Bro He says California gold Rush gold Rush.
- 17:56Speaker 1: What you think going to.
- 17:59Speaker 11: That is?
- 18:02Speaker 1: Can you stop talking while I make.
- 18:04Speaker 2: A point what Randall was referring to.
- 18:06Speaker 3: He says, the eighteen forty nine event caused a mass migration.
- 18:10Speaker 3: This forty nine event was a mass migration. The cause
- 18:14Speaker 3: happened in eighteen forty eight years a discovery of gold
- 18:17Speaker 3: at Sutter's mill. So this is just insane.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Well, eighteen forty nine, that's when the mass migration peaked.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Right, But the peak happened, it didn't. The causal event
- 18:29Speaker 3: is not an eighteen forty nine keep going question.
- 18:32Speaker 2: But event could also be other people migrating there. I
- 18:36Speaker 2: bet a lot of people were not aware that Sutter's
- 18:38Speaker 2: mill had gold discovered. They were just aware that people
- 18:41Speaker 2: were flocking.
- 18:43Speaker 8: I'm not coming with you.
- 18:44Speaker 2: About three hundred thousand people flooded into California during the
- 18:48Speaker 2: five year gold Rush. These prospectors were known as forty
- 18:51Speaker 2: nine ers, named after the year that the migration peaked.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Humans quickly started clearing out California grizzlies via hunting, poisoning,

- 19:18Speaker 2: Laura didn't get it right.
- 19:19Speaker 7: Did you know that they're trying to bring him back

- 20:31Speaker 2: Matthews, Vortex, Flambeau, Dluth Trading Company, Rage, Mercury Cutting Back,

- 21:23Speaker 2: According to the state's business directory, there are more than

- 21:34Speaker 2: that supports over one hundred thousand employees, about three percent
- 21:37Speaker 2: of employed Wisconsin. It's work in the outdoor industry.
- 21:40Speaker 7: Do the people at the Louth Trading Company know they're
- 21:43Speaker 7: in the wrong state?
- 21:44Speaker 2: I don't know. That's that is a tough one. Nate
- 21:47Speaker 2: even said maybe it's a red hair. Yeah, it seemed
- 21:50Speaker 2: like too much information still got them, but it didn't know.
- 21:54Speaker 7: I ignored what I knew. And we're halfway through the game.
- 21:58Speaker 2: By the way, Phil, please give us a scoreboard update.
- 22:02Speaker 8: Here at halftime. We have Laura in last place.
- 22:03Speaker 4: With zero points.
- 22:05Speaker 1: We're right back in.

- 22:16Speaker 1: You miss first?
- 22:17Speaker 2: Question one about the March tough one Question six. The
- 22:24Speaker 2: topic is cooking. Blank salt, which is often sprinkled on steak,
- 22:30Speaker 2: is defined as quote, a flaky salt added to dishes
- 22:34Speaker 2: just before serving to provide a crunchy texture and final
- 22:38Speaker 2: burst of flavor. M Blank salt, which is often sprinkled

- 22:56Speaker 2: Not giving you any hints, Laura imediately locked in her answer.
- 23:01Speaker 2: You have this one, right, Laura.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I know we're thinking the exact same thing.
- 23:06Speaker 7: Laura showed me what real sneaky like.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Show me what you put. That was very what I got. Okay,
- 23:15Speaker 2: Blank salt, which is often sprinkled on steak is defined
- 23:19Speaker 2: in a flaky salt added to dishes just before serving
- 23:24Speaker 2: to provide a crunchy texture and final burst of flavor. Yeah, okay,
- 23:34Speaker 2: Brody and Laura maybe disagree, maybe not. Maggie, do you
- 23:40Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 23:41Speaker 10: I think so?
- 23:42Speaker 2: Okay, Yanni, do you have this one right?
- 23:47Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 23:48Speaker 7: What I have interesting?
- 23:51Speaker 4: Okay, twice as smart as we're.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Gonna have to get a jury in here to figure
- 23:55Speaker 2: out who gets this right? Then this is not like
- 23:58Speaker 2: Spencer Randall, Nate, do you have this one?
- 24:02Speaker 1: I can?
- 24:03Speaker 8: I don't think so.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Here it is one more time. Blank salt, which is
- 24:08Speaker 2: often sprinkled on steak, is defined as a flaky salt
- 24:12Speaker 2: added to dishes just before serving to provide a crunchy
- 24:16Speaker 2: texture and final burst of flakes.
- 24:19Speaker 8: Just to clarify, Spencer, would you accept a brand name?
- 24:23Speaker 6: I think, come on, that's a total hint.
- 24:29Speaker 8: No, I don't think it's a thank you.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I don't think it's a hint. And I think if you,
- 24:34Speaker 2: if you have a brand that makes this, we will
- 24:37Speaker 2: give it to.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Gonna have to google though Nate Nate does not have it.
- 24:47Speaker 7: Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Yi says coach, Nate says finishing, Randal says butchers. Marge
- 24:56Speaker 2: says finishing, Laura says uh mouldn finishing salt. Brody says finishing.

- 25:14Speaker 2: salt butchering.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Is that what they put on cookies, like real nice fancy.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Cookies they had finishing salt. We will give it to them.
- 25:29Speaker 2: And if if you said Maldon Muldon, give that to you.
- 25:33Speaker 6: As which is a brand name, I believes.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Salt, said the guy who started the game talking about Pam.
- 25:43Speaker 2: There's many kinds of pants finishing, finishing or flake salt.
- 25:47Speaker 2: As the name implies, finishing salt is only used right
- 25:50Speaker 2: before you're ready to eat. It's most commonly sprinkled on
- 25:53Speaker 2: meat and seafood, but is also used on veggies, salads, eggs,
- 25:58Speaker 2: and dessert. These large regular salt crystals take longer to
- 26:02Speaker 2: dissolve in your mouth, which adds a unique texture and
- 26:04Speaker 2: depth of flavor.
- 26:05Speaker 11: Man, you see those big flaky ones on chocchip cookie,
- 26:08Speaker 11: you know you're in for it.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, A little salt with a little sweet finish camels.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Question seven, the topic is conservation. Eddie Murphy vows to

- 26:23Speaker 2: to this nineteen ninety eight movie.
- 26:28Speaker 8: Stay in My Lane, Get Uti.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Eddie Murphy vows to save a forest from logging and
- 26:35Speaker 2: development in the sequel to this nineteen ninety eight movie.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Again the conservation category, Randall is reaching far beyond hunters
- 26:46Speaker 2: and anglers.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 26:50Speaker 2: He doesn't like it. I don't care. Yeah, this one, right, Randall?
- 26:56Speaker 2: I think so, Okay, Yanni, do you have this one?
- 26:58Speaker 1: It's an Eddie Murphy film, no idea.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Say, Eddie Murphy vows to save a forest from longing
- 27:05Speaker 2: and development in the sequel to this nineteen ninety eight movie.

- 27:45Speaker 2: How do you guys know none of these were this movie?
- 27:48Speaker 1: Well that's what you might you might have thrown out.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, it is a movie. You just gave Nate
- 27:54Speaker 2: some confirmation.
- 27:56Speaker 7: Out there.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I don't even want to be here anymore.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Eddie Murphy to save a forest from logging and development
- 28:03Speaker 2: in the sequel to this nineteen ninety eight movie, Laura,
- 28:07Speaker 2: can you come up with an Eddie Murphy movie for us?
- 28:14Speaker 10: I could see that that would be a very probable.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Donkey saves the Swamp. Is everybody ready? Go ahead
- 28:24Speaker 2: and reveal your answers? Yannie says Doctor Doolittle, Nate says
- 28:28Speaker 2: Beverly Hills Cop Randall says Doctor Doolittle. Marge says, welcome
- 28:32Speaker 2: to America, Laura without an answer. Brody says doctor Doolittle.
- 28:37Speaker 2: The correct answer is doctor Doolittle. There you go. Two
- 28:40Speaker 2: thousand and one's Doctor Doolittle two follows doctor John Doolittle
- 28:45Speaker 2: as he attempts to save habitat where the fictional Pacific
- 28:48Speaker 2: Western Bear lives he succeeds by convincing bears, wolves, beavers,
- 28:52Speaker 2: and birds to fight back against the logging company. The
- 28:55Speaker 2: movie has a forty one percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, saying, quote,
- 28:59Speaker 2: it's prec patient with toilet humor and Murphy's restrained performance
- 29:03Speaker 2: makes this a missed opportunity.
- 29:06Speaker 7: I like Marge's answer.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Best, though. If we could have a sequel to Welcome
- 29:10Speaker 2: to America.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Where Coming to America.
- 29:13Speaker 7: America where they fight to save the forest.
- 29:16Speaker 2: And they did just do a sequel, they did, they
- 29:19Speaker 2: should have found the forest for the Pacific Western bear.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Though I was gonna say toilet humor and restrained performance
- 29:26Speaker 3: could probably encapsulate all of my recent trivia pearances.
- 29:29Speaker 2: So that's why they can media to radio?
- 29:33Speaker 1: Is it? Sherman T Clump? Phil, You're no, you have
- 29:38Speaker 1: the computers?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Yeah, use the computers. Does the other computer? And we're
- 29:41Speaker 2: looking at a movie poster for Doctor Doolittle too.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Sometimes there's like a little itch in my brain and
- 29:47Speaker 3: I want to dig in there and see if what
- 29:49Speaker 3: I remember is actually in there.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I think they're now onto like three four and five

- 29:59Speaker 2: Here's question eight. The topic is biology. This next great
- 30:03Speaker 2: question is via Andrew Rudder. This eight letter word is
- 30:07Speaker 2: defined ass quote the science of naming, describing and classifying
- 30:12Speaker 2: organisms based on shared characteristics. Randall already has his answer, Brody,
- 30:21Speaker 2: No maybe question. If Brody's locked in his answer, whiteboard
- 30:25Speaker 2: is down. This eight letter word is defined as the
- 30:30Speaker 2: science of naming, describing and classifying organisms based on shared characteristics.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Randal the only confident one, Brody is it's now reassessed.
- 30:43Speaker 10: In first, they're not giving me a middle initial Randall
- 30:49Speaker 10: in any of the articles I'm finding. They do have
- 30:52Speaker 10: the middle initial for the the Jerry Lewis version. That's
- 30:56Speaker 10: Julius f kelp.
- 31:00Speaker 11: M.
- 31:01Speaker 2: Randall's now on his phone attempting to solve this mystery.
- 31:04Speaker 2: To me, what the middle Initially.
- 31:07Speaker 3: No, I'm trying to send the the Facebook marketplace listing
- 31:11Speaker 3: that I mentioned earlier to.

- 31:24Speaker 2: Laura, do you not have what Brody has?
- 31:27Speaker 11: This is the only person in our whole organization that
- 31:29Speaker 11: my wife cares about, including me.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Oh you're talking about what about?
- 31:35Speaker 11: Oh right now?
- 31:40Speaker 7: Dang?
- 31:40Speaker 2: What do you do? You eat something? Did you crap
- 31:42Speaker 2: on something?
- 31:45Speaker 4: Course?
- 31:47Speaker 7: No.
- 31:47Speaker 11: Ever since Cam became pregnant, Uh, he's been acting real needy.
- 31:53Speaker 11: I think he senses his movement down the totem pole. Dang,
- 31:56Speaker 11: and so he's trying to I don't know what.
- 31:58Speaker 2: He's trying to do.
- 31:59Speaker 8: Your your wife's pregnant. Yeah, man, Oh, Congress, I didn't

- 32:06Speaker 2: We have to have a report sometime at meat Eater
- 32:09Speaker 2: here and update everyone on the office pregnancies. This ain't
- 32:17Speaker 2: letter word is defined as the science of naming, describing,
- 32:21Speaker 2: and classifying organisms based on shared characteristics. Is everybody ready,
- 32:26Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your answers? Yanni and Nate and
- 32:30Speaker 2: Randall and Marge say taxonomy. Laura without an answer, Brody
- 32:36Speaker 2: says taxonomy. The correct answer is taxonomy. The practice of
- 32:40Speaker 2: taxonomy dates back to the seventeen hundreds, when Swedish biologist
- 32:44Speaker 2: Carl van Lene started animals.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Is it Lennaynaus that taxonomy?
- 32:54Speaker 2: Thank you started grooving animals. He is known as the
- 32:56Speaker 2: father of modern taxonomy. He is actually the person and
- 33:00Speaker 2: who created the name Homo sapien, which is Latin for
- 33:03Speaker 2: wise man.
- 33:04Speaker 7: That would be a great job man, stuff.
- 33:07Speaker 11: What's the what's the tax part of taxonomy and taxidermy
- 33:13Speaker 11: is that like animals, I don't know Latin classifying.
- 33:17Speaker 6: Did you see in Australia to animals they thought were
- 33:20Speaker 6: extinct they rediscovered.
- 33:22Speaker 10: They gave them a new name.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I saw this, marg I pitched it for our news
- 33:27Speaker 2: podcast and Steve said, dumb Steve, this.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Is why I'm not invited.
- 33:33Speaker 7: To His reasoning was the Lazarus species up all the time?
- 33:38Speaker 4: Species?
- 33:38Speaker 2: What species? Were two different? It was a pigmy? What
- 33:42Speaker 2: was it a pigmy? Were they both like some sort
- 33:45Speaker 2: of ringtails?
- 33:46Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 33:46Speaker 2: That's cool, well, not cool enough to cover here on
- 33:49Speaker 2: this podcast.
- 33:52Speaker 4: What are they?
- 33:53Speaker 2: I'll get you a scoreboard update because we have two questions.
- 33:58Speaker 8: One is a sugar liquor.
- 33:59Speaker 4: It's like a world sugar liquor.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah, what a great name, dude, like sugar. It was
- 34:08Speaker 2: a pigmy, long fingered possum and a ring tailed glide those.
- 34:14Speaker 8: That's what I'm calling on the board.
- 34:17Speaker 10: With one point, Maggie and Randall and tied up with four.
- 34:22Speaker 10: Jannis and Nate have five, and he pulled ahead. Uh
- 34:25Speaker 10: even when you stand in his lane's Brodie Henderson with six.
- 34:29Speaker 10: When I said that scorekeeper and part time arbiter of disagreements,
- 34:35Speaker 10: I feel like it is exactly my land.
- 34:37Speaker 4: That's I'm just that's all.
- 34:38Speaker 2: That's all good well and fills the subject matter expert
- 34:40Speaker 2: when it comes to finishing, like you gave.
- 34:42Speaker 6: A clue, like, let's be clear, okay, Randall literally started
- 34:46Speaker 6: naming Eddie Murphy movies and No.
- 34:47Speaker 7: One game. Here's a question.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I never gave away the answer.
- 34:53Speaker 7: The topic is hunting.
- 34:55Speaker 2: According to Academy Sports Revolvers, quote most commonly hold this

- 35:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay. According to Academy Sports, revolvers most commonly
- 35:43Speaker 2: hold this many rounds.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Man, you're so smart.
- 35:49Speaker 3: There's gonna be people in their trucks like driving down
- 35:51Speaker 3: the road.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Did he really just ask that?
- 35:54Speaker 4: Oh wow, the show has become too pedestrian.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Randal, you're honest. Do you think this is a good question? Sorry? Yes, yes,
- 36:03Speaker 1: I spent too much time around Steve lately.
- 36:06Speaker 8: I just like to rebate. Randall is currently in fourth place.
- 36:12Speaker 8: Rand with me, I've never been.
- 36:16Speaker 7: You know those marbles give out planes?
- 36:20Speaker 8: He needs I know, I don't know he answer question.
- 36:25Speaker 2: M Randall's saying it's too easy, March. How does that

- 36:30Speaker 2: Okay, everybody got.
- 36:32Speaker 1: A question slang term that refers to by.
- 36:36Speaker 7: The number of your answers.
- 36:38Speaker 2: We have Yanni and Nate and Randall saying six, Marge
- 36:42Speaker 2: says five, Laura and Brody say six. The correct answer
- 36:46Speaker 2: is six. Six shooter got revolvers hold five to nine rounds,
- 36:52Speaker 2: with six being the most popular, which is why they're
- 36:55Speaker 2: often referred to as six shooters. Gunbroker dot Com has
- 36:58Speaker 2: fifty six thousand revolvers for sale that holds six bullets.
- 37:02Speaker 2: That's followed by thirty six thousand listings for five shooters,
- 37:06Speaker 2: five thousand listings for eight shooters, four thousand listings for
