- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up you guys. I'm Haley and I'm Andrea and
- 0:03Speaker 1: this is Inhuman, a true crime podcast. All right, so
- 0:08Speaker 1: whoa what is that loud? No, there was just a
- 0:11Speaker 1: weird sound.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's me turning out my headphone.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Sorry, okay, it was like, I don't think any of
- 0:17Speaker 1: the recording will get that, which is nice, okay the
- 0:19Speaker 1: way that we record. But anyway, we just wanted to
- 0:24Speaker 1: chat about a couple things before we get into today's episode.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And today's episode is also going to be pretty short,
- 0:30Speaker 1: I think, because there is not a lot of information
- 0:33Speaker 1: about this case. Like I searched through multiple pages of
- 0:38Speaker 1: Google and like this was all I could find on it.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of sad, Like, I mean, I know,
- 0:43Speaker 3: it's like still ongoing, so there's not going to be
- 0:45Speaker 3: a ton of right, you know, info, but still I
- 0:49Speaker 3: was surprised because I did the same thing.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah. So, but before we get into today's case, I
- 0:54Speaker 1: just wanted to do a little update on what's going
- 0:56Speaker 1: on in the Gabby Potito case. I know a lot
- 0:58Speaker 1: of people have been following that and it's like currently ongoing,
- 1:02Speaker 1: so I just wanted to share just like what is
- 1:05Speaker 1: going on in the last week or so. And if
- 1:08Speaker 1: you don't know what I'm talking about, which like if
- 1:10Speaker 1: you're in the true crime community you probably know. Yeah,
- 1:13Speaker 1: but just in case, we did a couple of episodes
- 1:17Speaker 1: on it, so you can go listen to those for
- 1:19Speaker 1: all the details. But basically, what is going on now
- 1:23Speaker 1: is Gabby's fiance slash boyfriend. There's a lot of different reports,
- 1:28Speaker 1: but he is His whereabouts are unknown. He was apparently
- 1:34Speaker 1: back in Florida with his parents, but then they said
- 1:37Speaker 1: that they haven't seen him since September fourteenth. So police
- 1:41Speaker 1: are searching in the Carleton Reserve, which is an area
- 1:44Speaker 1: not far from where Brian's parents live, and they've been
- 1:49Speaker 1: searching there for a good week now, I think, if
- 1:52Speaker 1: not more than a week, but they are starting to
- 1:54Speaker 1: focus on specific areas. They're kind of like narrowing down
- 1:58Speaker 1: their search because it's like a twenty five thousand acre space.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And then Dog the bounty hunter, the TV personality, is
- 2:08Speaker 1: also on the case, which like is awesome because he
- 2:12Speaker 1: definitely can do finds people police and FBI can't do. Yeah,
- 2:16Speaker 1: he finds people. He's notorious for like being able to
- 2:20Speaker 1: find people, So you know, hopefully he'll be able to
- 2:22Speaker 1: find Brian, but he got a lead that Brian's parents
- 2:27Speaker 1: were in Fort de Soto in Florida, which is like
- 2:30Speaker 1: a camping area and there's a bunch of islands off
- 2:32Speaker 1: of it, and so he got that lead and then
- 2:35Speaker 1: they have actually since confirmed through public records that Brian's
- 2:40Speaker 1: mom did sign in for a camping or for a
- 2:44Speaker 1: campsite there, and then there were some people who were
- 2:48Speaker 1: camping next to them as well that said that they
- 2:50Speaker 1: saw them there. And this was after Brian returned from
- 2:54Speaker 1: his road trip with his girlfriend slash fiance without her.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So he came back to Florida without the person he
- 3:04Speaker 1: had been on a month long, month's long road trip
- 3:07Speaker 1: with without her, and then the family. Yeah, just a
- 3:12Speaker 1: little weird. So, yeah, dog is currently hunting that down.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I have heard that there's no police activity in Fort
- 3:22Speaker 1: DeSoto right now, and we also like don't really know
- 3:26Speaker 1: what the police know about the Carlton Reserve and why
- 3:29Speaker 1: they're still searching there. Yeah, I was wondering that, Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: his car was there, and I don't I have a
- 3:36Speaker 1: feeling they know something else that they're not telling us
- 3:39Speaker 1: because they've been there for quite some time.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, do you know if they ever got any reports
- 3:45Speaker 3: back from the van.
- 3:47Speaker 1: They haven't shared any of the forensic stuff that came
- 3:51Speaker 1: back from the van. But I'm guessing unless like Gabby
- 3:55Speaker 1: was actually like murdered in the van, I don't think
- 3:58Speaker 1: they're gonna get anything from it because like they both
- 4:00Speaker 1: were living in the van, so I don't know how much.
- 4:04Speaker 1: And it doesn't seem like from how her body was
- 4:07Speaker 1: found that she was necessarily murdered in the van. But
- 4:10Speaker 1: we also don't know what her cause of death is.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We just know it was rule to homicide, so I
- 4:15Speaker 1: never know. But they really haven't released a lot, which
- 4:17Speaker 1: is totally understandable because it's an ongoing investigation, right. So yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 1: that's that's pretty much what's going on. Gabby's family gave
- 4:25Speaker 1: a press conference two days ago. I think maybe it
- 4:28Speaker 1: was yesterday, I don't know, but they just, you know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: want to use this tragedy to push to find other
- 4:37Speaker 1: missing people out there, and you know, they want Gabby's
- 4:40Speaker 1: legacy to live on. So yeah, that is the update.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Hopefully Brian will be found soon and we can get
- 4:47Speaker 1: justice for Gabby. But in the meantime, today I'm going
- 4:52Speaker 1: to be talking about another missing person. But real quick,
- 4:55Speaker 1: before I start the case, I do want to say
- 4:58Speaker 1: we have Andrea has more so a very very exciting
- 5:03Speaker 1: announcement that we will be sharing at the end of
- 5:07Speaker 1: this episode. And if you follow us on Instagram, you
- 5:09Speaker 1: may have seen a little sneak peek of it, but
- 5:13Speaker 1: we are going to officially announce it at the end
- 5:15Speaker 1: of today's episode, so be sure to stick around for that.
- 5:19Speaker 1: All right, So today's episode is, like I said, gonna
- 5:22Speaker 1: be a little bit of a shorter one because there's
- 5:25Speaker 1: just not a lot of information. But I can kind
- 5:27Speaker 1: of I feel like this case is starting to go cold,
- 5:30Speaker 1: so that's why I wanted to get it out there. Hopefully,
- 5:34Speaker 1: the more we talk about it, the more attention it gets,
- 5:36Speaker 1: the less likely it will to go cold. So we
- 5:39Speaker 1: are going to be talking about the unsolved double homicide
- 5:43Speaker 1: of Kylin Schultz and Crystal Turner.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yes, I still like you're gonna tell me all the details.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I mean, I've read some stuff. I still just.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Can't wrap my mind around the fact that the they're
- 5:58Speaker 3: saying that it's like unrelated.
- 6:00Speaker 2: It's just too big of a coincidence for me.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I know.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Yeah, So we'll get into that okay, but first I'll
- 6:05Speaker 1: give you details on what happened to them. Kyland Schultz
- 6:08Speaker 1: was twenty four and Crystal Turner, who was also known
- 6:11Speaker 1: in some places as Crystal Beck, was thirty eight, and
- 6:14Speaker 1: they were married and living in Utah. They were avid
- 6:18Speaker 1: campers in the Moab Mountains, living and working in the
- 6:21Speaker 1: area as well. Kylin was originally from Vail, Colorado, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: Crystal was originally from Hot Springs, Arkansas, but they were
- 6:28Speaker 1: currently living at a campsite in the Moab area, and
- 6:32Speaker 1: they both worked near the camp site. Kylon worked at
- 6:35Speaker 1: a place called Moonflower Community Cooperative, which I believe is
- 6:38Speaker 1: like kind of a grocery store.
- 6:42Speaker 2: It's really tiny.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I saw it, okay, Yeah, and then I've seen some
- 6:47Speaker 1: re boards that Crystal worked at McDonald's, but I have
- 6:50Speaker 1: only seen that in like a couple places. But I
- 6:52Speaker 1: believe she worked in the area as well.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And they were van live people too, right.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah, they were like campers. I don't know if they
- 7:00Speaker 1: lived in a van or you know, they were currently
- 7:03Speaker 1: living at a campsite, so I don't know if they
- 7:05Speaker 1: were in their van or in like a tent, but yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 1: they were van life people like Gabby Patito. They were
- 7:11Speaker 1: also recently married. I've seen in some places it said
- 7:14Speaker 1: that they were married in April of twenty twenty one.
- 7:16Speaker 1: I don't know the exact date or anything, but very
- 7:18Speaker 1: recently they were newlyweds, and they were known to be
- 7:22Speaker 1: extremely happy together living and adventuring in Utah, and the
- 7:26Speaker 1: campsite that they were living at in Moab was in
- 7:29Speaker 1: the south mess may say that I always want to
- 7:33Speaker 1: say Mesa, and then I want to say Mesa, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: I never know, but I think it's South Mesa area
- 7:38Speaker 1: of La Salle Loop Roads, So that's the area that
- 7:41Speaker 1: their campsite was currently in. Kylin's grandmother described her as
- 7:46Speaker 1: quote the sunshine brightening any room she walked into, and
- 7:50Speaker 1: that she loved to laugh.
- 7:51Speaker 2: That's so, that's so sad, I know.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And there really hasn't been a lot shared online about Crystal,
- 7:59Speaker 1: you know, like we said, this is very recent, so
- 8:01Speaker 1: there's just not a lot of details. But from all accounts,
- 8:04Speaker 1: it seems like they were just incredible and really really
- 8:06Speaker 1: happy together and with their life. So the couple was
- 8:10Speaker 1: last seen at Woody's Tavern in Moab, Utah, around nine
- 8:14Speaker 1: thirty pm on August thirteenth. They were reported missing three
- 8:18Speaker 1: days later on August sixteenth, after family and friends had
- 8:22Speaker 1: not heard from them for a few days. Kyland's dad
- 8:26Speaker 1: shared shortly after this that he was frustrated with the
- 8:30Speaker 1: police's handling of this case from like when they went missing.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He was just saying that the search, it didn't feel
- 8:36Speaker 1: like the search was urgent enough, and so because of that,
- 8:39Speaker 1: some friends and family members began doing their own searches,
- 8:44Speaker 1: and this included a family friend of Kylin's whose name
- 8:47Speaker 1: is Cindy Sue Hunter. Two days after Kylon and Crystal
- 8:51Speaker 1: were reported missing on August eighteenth, Cindy discovered the couple's
- 8:55Speaker 1: bodies near their campsite. So they were actually discovered by
- 9:00Speaker 1: a family friend who was searching for them.
- 9:02Speaker 3: That seems to be a reoccurring theme too, in a
- 9:04Speaker 3: lot of these like nomadic type people cases, you know,
- 9:10Speaker 3: like police are you know, I'm sure they're like, oh,
- 9:13Speaker 3: they're probably camping somewhere else, so they're probably traveling, they're
- 9:16Speaker 3: probably doing this, and then let's like people know their people,
- 9:20Speaker 3: you know, like break into it at least right.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And I'm confused because they haven't said exactly where there
- 9:26Speaker 1: they were found, And I actually have it here that
- 9:30Speaker 1: some sources reported that they were found off of a
- 9:32Speaker 1: scenic road that runs through a national forest near their campsite.
- 9:36Speaker 1: But it doesn't sound like they were far from their campsite,
- 9:39Speaker 1: like everywhere that I've seen it says they were found
- 9:41Speaker 1: near their campsite. So how could they not have been
- 9:44Speaker 1: found by police unless the police like literally just took
- 9:48Speaker 1: it in their campsite and then didn't look around or something.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and how how long were they missing before their
- 9:54Speaker 3: bodies were found?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Are considered missing?
- 9:56Speaker 1: Officially, it was two days, but they hadn't been seen
- 10:00Speaker 1: or I to leave her from for five days.
- 10:02Speaker 3: So it's a possibility that they could have been taken
- 10:06Speaker 3: somewhere else and then brought back.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That's definitely a possibility. Yeah, we don't know, but I
- 10:12Speaker 1: don't think anybody started searching for three days after they
- 10:15Speaker 1: were last seen, so anything could have happened in that
- 10:17Speaker 1: three days.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 1: So the Sheriff's department after their bodies were found, revealed
- 10:24Speaker 1: that both women died by gunshot wounds to their backs, sides,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and or chests. They were found partially undressed from the
- 10:32Speaker 1: waist down, and one of the women also had quote
- 10:36Speaker 1: a bra that was raised to expose her breasts. And
- 10:40Speaker 1: at this point it has not been confirmed or not
- 10:44Speaker 1: or denied that they there was any evidence of sexual assault,
- 10:48Speaker 1: but I will say, in my own opinion, it does
- 10:51Speaker 1: kind of sound like that could have been what happened
- 10:54Speaker 1: based on how they were found.
- 10:56Speaker 3: And I wonder if they were targeted because of their
- 10:59Speaker 3: sexual abus.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You know, definitely could have been. Yeah, Utah is definitely
- 11:04Speaker 1: known as a little bit more of a conservative state,
- 11:07Speaker 1: so who knows, but yeah, that definitely could have been something.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So sorry, I just want to make sure I was
- 11:13Speaker 1: still recording real quick. One of Kylan's friends actually received
- 11:18Speaker 1: a text from her, I don't know how long before
- 11:20Speaker 1: she went missing, but before they went missing, saying something
- 11:23Speaker 1: along the lines of if something happens to us, we
- 11:26Speaker 1: were murdered. And she also told her that there was
- 11:30Speaker 1: a creepy man around their camp site that they had
- 11:34Speaker 1: kind of found intimidating. And Kylon's aunt also reported that
- 11:38Speaker 1: Kylin had mentioned this creepy guy that was hanging around
- 11:42Speaker 1: and that the couple was even considering moving their camp
- 11:44Speaker 1: site because of him.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Wow.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Kayla Borza, who was one of the last people to
- 11:49Speaker 1: see Kylin and Crystal alive. She spoke with The Daily Beast,
- 11:54Speaker 1: the news outlet, and she said, quote, we were just
- 11:57Speaker 1: having a great time, having a couple drinks, and all
- 12:00Speaker 1: they said was that there was a creepy man or
- 12:03Speaker 1: a creep staying next to them, and that was it.
- 12:06Speaker 1: So they told multiple people that there was somebody that
- 12:10Speaker 1: they were bothered.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, they were clearly bothered. I hate that they didn't
- 12:14Speaker 3: give any like distinguishing features, you know.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Like a bald guy or you know, an old guy.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Or whatever, because that would have been helpful considering.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the other events. Yeah, and unfortunately, so many of
- 12:27Speaker 1: us just don't even think, like you never think this
- 12:30Speaker 1: is going to be something that I need to share. Yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 1: but definitely, you know, if you ever feel uncomfortable share
- 12:36Speaker 1: it with details photos, Yeah, don't be afraid to do that.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I mean, even that was seen in the Delphi murders
- 12:43Speaker 1: when Abby and Libby literally or Libby pulled out her
- 12:47Speaker 1: phone when there was a man following them, and they
- 12:50Speaker 1: got that man on camera, right, and hopefully that will
- 12:52Speaker 1: eventually lead to him being found. It's you know, it's
- 12:55Speaker 1: okay to take your phone out if you're in like
- 12:57Speaker 1: you can record people.
- 12:59Speaker 3: So if you uncomfortable, make someone else feel uncomfortable.
- 13:02Speaker 2: That's always my model.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. And you never know, if like a creep
- 13:07Speaker 1: sees that you're recording them, maybe they'll leave you alone. True. True.
- 13:10Speaker 1: So anyway, police did obtain a search warrant to search
- 13:15Speaker 1: their van, which had been left at a McDonald at
- 13:17Speaker 1: the McDonald's where Crystal works, So that's where I saw
- 13:20Speaker 1: that she had worked at McDonald's. But doesn't sound like
- 13:22Speaker 1: the van was like found at their campsite. So again,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I don't know if they were living in a tent
- 13:28Speaker 1: or out of their van, that would definitely be helpful information.
- 13:31Speaker 1: But you know, I'm sure that police are keeping a
- 13:34Speaker 1: lot close to the chest.
- 13:36Speaker 2: That'd be weird.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, But they haven't really shared much of what was
- 13:40Speaker 1: found inside the van because again ongoing investigation. But they
- 13:43Speaker 1: did say that one of the things that was recovered
- 13:46Speaker 1: was a Bible, but I don't think that necessarily means anything.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You know, if they whether or not they were living
- 13:51Speaker 1: in the van, they clearly like had a lot of
- 13:54Speaker 1: their belongings in the van. So yeah, police have said
- 13:57Speaker 1: that they've also collected evidence from the crime scene, but
- 14:00Speaker 1: they have not revealed any pretty much anything of what
- 14:03Speaker 1: they found. Sheriff Stephen White has said that they do
- 14:07Speaker 1: believe the murder was an outside party and that this
- 14:10Speaker 1: was not a murder suicide, because that's something that you know,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and of course they do have to look into that,
- 14:17Speaker 1: but he said that they do not believe it was
- 14:19Speaker 1: a murder suicide. And then they've also said that there
- 14:22Speaker 1: have not been any firearms recovered from the area. So
- 14:26Speaker 1: that's all we know so far. And they did say
- 14:29Speaker 1: though that they collected evidence from the crime scene.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Okay, and they did they ever come forward that they
- 14:36Speaker 3: were shot? Is that why they were looking for a weapon?
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, I think I said that earlier. If not,
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Yeah, they were probably did no worries, but
- 14:46Speaker 1: yeah they were. Yeah. They both died by gunshot wounds
- 14:49Speaker 1: to their backsides and or chess. So that's why they
- 14:53Speaker 1: were looking and why they reported there wasn't a firearm.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Okay on September twenty ninth, so yesterday from when we're
- 15:00Speaker 1: recording this. I'm not sure when this episode's going to
- 15:02Speaker 1: go live, but this week the Sheriff's office issued a
- 15:06Speaker 1: plea to the public for anyone in the area of
- 15:09Speaker 1: their camp site between August thirteenth and August fifteenth, to
- 15:14Speaker 1: think back and share anything they may have seen or
- 15:16Speaker 1: heard during that time. So the sheriff Office release explained
- 15:22Speaker 1: that they are testing all the forensic evidence that they have,
- 15:25Speaker 1: but that could take months or longer to conclude those analyzes.
- 15:29Speaker 1: So in the meantime, they're asking for any leads and
- 15:33Speaker 1: you know, help solving on solving this case. If anybody
- 15:36Speaker 1: in the area has seen anything or possibly has you know,
- 15:40Speaker 1: photos or video around that time, to share it with them.
- 15:44Speaker 1: And this is actually pretty rare for this type of
- 15:46Speaker 1: plea to the public to happen, especially so early on.
- 15:51Speaker 1: But there's obviously a lot of concern among the community
- 15:54Speaker 1: about who this killer is because now there's somebody on
- 15:58Speaker 1: the loose that murdered two people. Yeah, so the police
- 16:02Speaker 1: are truly like kind of trying to do everything they
- 16:04Speaker 1: can to get more information and get it out there.
- 16:07Speaker 1: So they really are asking for anybody in the area
- 16:10Speaker 1: to share anything they might know. Kyland's father, Sean Paul Schult,
- 16:15Speaker 1: has also been working hard to keep the case in
- 16:17Speaker 1: the spotlight. He's been sharing a lot. He's been critical
- 16:21Speaker 1: of the police, which I understand. You know, your your
- 16:23Speaker 1: daughter and your daughter in law were murdered, and you
- 16:26Speaker 1: don't know anything. And he said, quote, if anybody saw
- 16:30Speaker 1: anything there, a vehicle, a description of a person, a
- 16:33Speaker 1: person with a dog, a weirdo with a gun, whatever
- 16:36Speaker 1: it is, to share it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because you don't know.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I mean, just like in Gabby's case, you know, they
- 16:41Speaker 3: figured out that area because of a video, a YouTube video.
- 16:45Speaker 3: So I mean, don't ever think that something is I
- 16:48Speaker 3: say this, I feel like I say this every episode,
- 16:50Speaker 3: but don't ever think that anything is too small and insignificant.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yeah, because it very well could not be.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and you never know what the police have that
- 16:57Speaker 1: they're not sharing with us. Yeah, they keep a lot
- 17:00Speaker 1: close to the chest because it helps in investigations to
- 17:03Speaker 1: not share everything with the public. And you can that,
- 17:06Speaker 1: you know.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Yeah, So if you were in that area at all,
- 17:10Speaker 1: especially August thirteenth to fifteenth, share anything you might have
- 17:15Speaker 1: seen or heard or anything. So I also wanted to
- 17:20Speaker 1: touch on the speculation that Kylon and Crystal's murders are
- 17:23Speaker 1: somehow connected to Gabby Potito's death. So you know, we
- 17:26Speaker 1: talked about this in the beginning, but here's kind of
- 17:29Speaker 1: an overview of what that possible connection could be. So,
- 17:33Speaker 1: a few days before Kylon and Crystal went missing, Gabby
- 17:36Speaker 1: Patito was seen arguing with her fiance Brian laundry in
- 17:40Speaker 1: the parking lot of Moonflower, the place where Kylon worked.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So this argument between Gabby and Brian was reported by
- 17:49Speaker 1: witnesses to police, and it did lead to them being
- 17:52Speaker 1: pulled over and discussion of you know, what the domestic
- 17:56Speaker 1: dispute was about with police. I'm not going to go
- 17:59Speaker 1: into that, but a lot of people are saying that,
- 18:02Speaker 1: you know, Brian might have been this creepy man that
- 18:05Speaker 1: they saw walking around the campsite. You know, obviously we
- 18:09Speaker 1: know that Brian and Gabby were in the area around
- 18:11Speaker 1: this time. Yeah, because this call was on August twelfth,
- 18:16Speaker 1: which is the day before they were Kylin and Crystal
- 18:21Speaker 1: were last seen, right, And there also are some reports
- 18:25Speaker 1: that Gabby and Brian were at what was it.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Called Woodies, Yeah, the tavern.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Yeah, the tavern. I haven't seen like confirmation of that,
- 18:37Speaker 1: but there are reports about that. I mean, if it
- 18:39Speaker 1: was a tavern in town, I'm guessing there's like not
- 18:42Speaker 1: a ton of stuff in the town because it's like
- 18:45Speaker 1: if it's campsites and stuff, so maybe it wouldn't be
- 18:48Speaker 1: that surprising if they were like.
- 18:49Speaker 2: A little town with like a few places.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, so that is kind of what people
- 18:57Speaker 1: are speculating. People. Some people are saying that possibly Brian
- 19:02Speaker 1: and or Gabby may have been involved in Kylon and
- 19:05Speaker 1: Crystal's death and then something else happened, But just as facts,
- 19:10Speaker 1: there's no other connection between the two couples, and the
- 19:13Speaker 1: Sheriff's office has also come out and said there is
- 19:16Speaker 1: no connection between the two cases. But of course that's
- 19:19Speaker 1: not going to stop people from speculating about it and
- 19:22Speaker 1: talking about it. And in my opinion, I do see
- 19:27Speaker 1: the possible connection, but also do personally find it unlikely.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But at the same time I can see that connection,
- 19:34Speaker 1: and we just don't know right now. We just have
- 19:37Speaker 1: no clue what's going on in either of the cases.
- 19:39Speaker 1: So definitely could be something.
- 19:42Speaker 3: And I feel like police kind of jumped the gun
- 19:44Speaker 3: a little bit to like rule it out so quickly, because,
- 19:48Speaker 3: like I agree, they don't even know who killed these girls,
- 19:52Speaker 3: and without knowing who killed them and having, you know,
- 19:55Speaker 3: maybe they have some kind of evidence that proves that
- 19:58Speaker 3: it wasn't Brian, but still it's just like, what are
- 20:00Speaker 3: you doing?
- 20:01Speaker 1: But unless it's like they know exactly where Brian was
- 20:07Speaker 1: during that time, I don't know how they can like
- 20:10Speaker 1: definitively rule him out. But like you said, maybe they
- 20:14Speaker 1: have something we don't know about. And then the other
- 20:16Speaker 1: thing I was thinking was I just totally lost my
- 20:20Speaker 1: train of thought. I don't know, I just like what
- 20:24Speaker 1: I was gonna say out of your brain. Yeah, yeah, oh,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I remember. Some people have said that they redacted the
- 20:31Speaker 1: Sheriff's office redacted the like announcement that it was there
- 20:36Speaker 1: is no connection. When I tried to search that, I
- 20:39Speaker 1: could not find anywhere that said they redacted it. So
- 20:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if people were just
- 20:47Speaker 1: saying that because they wanted to say that the connection
- 20:51Speaker 1: could still be possible.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I think, well, I didn't, I could. I didn't la la.
- 20:56Speaker 3: I couldn't find any confirming ports reports that they redacted it.
- 21:00Speaker 3: But I think the fact that they came out and
- 21:02Speaker 3: said that they are exploring all leads and taking all
- 21:06Speaker 3: like anything at this point, I think people probably like
- 21:10Speaker 3: took that and ran with it, thinking, Okay, maybe they are,
- 21:13Speaker 3: but that's good they should.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I think they should be Yeah, considering yeah, any of it,
- 21:17Speaker 2: all of it.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think that we should rule it out,
- 21:20Speaker 1: but I also don't think that we should say, like
- 21:23Speaker 1: especially in yeah, yes exactly, I agree our only I agree.
- 21:28Speaker 1: So anyway, that's the possible connection there, and you know,
- 21:31Speaker 1: it's definitely a possibility. But unfortunately, that's pretty much all
- 21:36Speaker 1: we know in Kylon and Crystal's murder, which is frustrating.
- 21:41Speaker 1: But I am glad that the police are asking for
- 21:44Speaker 1: the public's help and in cases like this, Unfortunately, until
- 21:48Speaker 1: the forensic evidence can be tested, there's not much more
- 21:52Speaker 1: that they can do unless they actually get a lead
- 21:55Speaker 1: from somebody who may have seen or heard something or
- 21:58Speaker 1: find something in stolen Kylin's past or somebody in their
- 22:02Speaker 1: past that I know something. But other than that, unless
- 22:06Speaker 1: they get anything from the forensic evidence, which takes time,
- 22:10Speaker 1: we just don't know. And I feel like.
- 22:12Speaker 3: It's harder when they're like in the elements like that
- 22:15Speaker 3: to really get right, you know, the DNA, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 3: possible DNA or you know whatever from from the bodies
- 22:21Speaker 3: and around the crime scene.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Right, And that's one of the reasons I think we
- 22:25Speaker 1: should continue to share this because I mean, I understand
- 22:30Speaker 1: that forensic testing can take a long time, but also
- 22:32Speaker 1: in such an urgent case like this, it doesn't feel
- 22:35Speaker 1: like they're taking the urgency as seriously. Like there is
- 22:40Speaker 1: a murderer on the loose. Somebody killed these two women
- 22:43Speaker 1: has not been caught, and that's really scary, whether or
- 22:45Speaker 1: not it's a serial killer or just some you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: one off thing, but it's it's scary. And so I
- 22:52Speaker 1: think the more we share about this, and the more
- 22:55Speaker 1: pressure that gets put on police, maybe the FBI can
- 22:58Speaker 1: get involved in the forensic testing can happen quicker because
- 23:02Speaker 1: there might be something that can come from that forensic testing.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Right, I agree.
- 23:06Speaker 1: So if you have any information about this double homicide,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you can contact the Grand County Sheriff's office at four
- 23:14Speaker 1: three five two five nine eight one one five. And
- 23:18Speaker 1: then there's also a GoFundMe that has been set up
- 23:20Speaker 1: for Kylin's dad, Sean Paul, who is actively searching himself,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and you can donate at GoFundMe dot com slash f
- 23:28Speaker 1: slash Kylin dash Shult And I'll put that in the
- 23:32Speaker 1: show notes, so you guys can click on that either
- 23:36Speaker 1: donate if you can or just share about it. And
- 23:39Speaker 1: you know, if you can't donate, totally understandable, but you
- 23:42Speaker 1: can still help. You can share information about these women,
- 23:47Speaker 1: their photos, their story, help spread the word because that
- 23:50Speaker 1: will one possibly lead to someone who may know something
- 23:54Speaker 1: seeing it and then sharing what they know. And two,
- 23:57Speaker 1: as I mentioned, just continue to put pressure on police
- 24:00Speaker 1: and possibly get the FBI involved. You know, the more
- 24:04Speaker 1: attention we can get to this, the more likely something
- 24:07Speaker 1: will be found, you know. And also these they were
- 24:11Speaker 1: killed by gunshots. Guns are loud, so somebody may have
- 24:15Speaker 1: heard something and just isn't even aware that that's what's
- 24:19Speaker 1: going on.
- 24:20Speaker 3: So and there's usually like a trail with a gun,
- 24:24Speaker 3: you know, even if it's yep, purchase.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Illegally, there's usually some kind of trail.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Right, So yeah, that is what we have in this case.
- 24:31Speaker 1: We will definitely update you guys as we get more information.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Hopefully their murder will be found so Kylon and Crystal
- 24:40Speaker 1: can get justice and rest peacefully. But that is what
- 24:43Speaker 1: we have so far. And now Andrea can share our
- 24:47Speaker 1: exciting announcement, you know, we can bring bring the mood
- 24:50Speaker 1: back up a little bit. Yes, I'm so excited.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Like Hayley said, you may have seen it over on
- 24:58Speaker 3: our Instagram, but if you haven't, and we're adding two
- 25:01Speaker 3: little humans to our podcasting team. I am currently pregnant
- 25:07Speaker 3: with twins.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Twins, oh right. I still can't believe.
- 25:11Speaker 3: It to two babies yep, growing inside of my body
- 25:15Speaker 3: right now, which is crazy.
- 25:19Speaker 1: And I don't know, I can't remember if I left
- 25:22Speaker 1: it in or not. I think I did. In one
- 25:24Speaker 1: of our episodes a little while ago, Andrea was like
- 25:27Speaker 1: drinking ginger ale but it looked like red wine or
- 25:30Speaker 1: white wine. And I said to her like, ooh, is
- 25:32Speaker 1: that white wine? Like looks good? And this was before
- 25:35Speaker 1: I knew she was pregnant, and she's she was like
- 25:37Speaker 1: like no ger and I was like, oh, young ginger Ale.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And then like the next day she told me she's
- 25:44Speaker 1: pregnant and I was like, are you kidding me?
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:48Speaker 3: So I was like really sick for a long time.
- 25:50Speaker 3: So like every episode I was like just trying to survive. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 3: So props to her if we're continuing to record through
- 25:58Speaker 3: through all of that.
- 26:00Speaker 1: And of course, I'm so excited, so excited for you, Andrea,
- 26:03Speaker 1: and I'm so excited we'll have two little humans joining
- 26:06Speaker 1: our inhuman family.
- 26:08Speaker 3: That's right, and we'll find out. Well, I already know
- 26:10Speaker 3: the genders, but I'm doing my gender reveal on on Saturday,
- 26:15Speaker 3: so I'll be sharing with you guys sometimes next sometime
- 26:18Speaker 3: next week what the little babies are.
- 26:22Speaker 1: So and if you can't tell, I'm very salty that
- 26:24Speaker 1: I don't know the genders yet. And she's like weeks
- 26:27Speaker 1: ago she was like, I'm gonna find out the genders.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I found out the genders.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Well, they folded me though, because they said was it wrong.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It wasn't wrong, but they lied to me.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Basically, they were like, yeah, we can definitely tell from
- 26:41Speaker 3: the blood tests, like what both babies genders would be.
- 26:44Speaker 3: But then they were like, well, we know one it's
- 26:46Speaker 3: a blank, but you'll have to wait till the anatomy
- 26:48Speaker 3: scan to, oh.
- 26:50Speaker 1: My god, tell for sure. So we had a feeling
- 26:53Speaker 1: what direction it was going, but it was on yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 1: anatomy scan day, So yeah, okay, so you didn't know
- 27:02Speaker 1: for sure, Okay, yeah, I'll give you a little bit.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I just like, am so nosy and need to know everything.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So I'm just the same way. I'm the same way. Right.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It's hard, and we have another friend that's currently pregnant
- 27:13Speaker 1: shout out to you, Julie, and she's not finding out
- 27:16Speaker 1: the Yeah, so I'm like, oh my gosh, I need
- 27:21Speaker 1: to know anyway. But we're very excited and I have,
- 27:26Speaker 1: I think asked Andrea every single episode like are you
- 27:29Speaker 1: gonna announce it yet? So I'm excited that we're finally sharing.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 1: I'm so excited for Andrea and her family, both of them, yes, yes,
- 27:39Speaker 1: both of them. So so yeah, thank you guys so
- 27:42Speaker 1: much for listening. Please share about this case, especially if
- 27:46Speaker 1: you're in the area, and if you haven't, I know
