- 0:00Speaker 1: Ed you early morning. Praise party. I am Sherry Mackitt.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's time right now for today's word, the voices that
- 0:08Speaker 1: shape your destiny. First Samuel twenty five thirty two thirty
- 0:12Speaker 1: three says. David replied to Abigail, Praise the Lord, the
- 0:16Speaker 1: God of Israel, who has sent you to meet me today.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Thank God for your good sins. Bless you for keeping
- 0:23Speaker 1: me from murder and from carrying out vengeance with my
- 0:27Speaker 1: own hands. You know, one of the most important decisions
- 0:30Speaker 1: we make in life is determining which voices we will
- 0:34Speaker 1: listen to. Every day, we're surrounded by opinions, by advice,
- 0:38Speaker 1: by influence, and conversations that can either move us closer
- 0:42Speaker 1: to God's purpose or pull us away from it. David
- 0:46Speaker 1: experienced this firsthand. In First Samuel twenty five, David found
- 0:50Speaker 1: himself deeply offended by a wealthy man named Nabel. David
- 0:54Speaker 1: had protected nabel shepherds and property, yet when he requested assistance,
- 0:59Speaker 1: Nabel responded with disrespect and contempt. David was furious. His
- 1:04Speaker 1: emotions took over, and he gathered four hundred men with
- 1:08Speaker 1: the intention of taking revenge. Oh oh see. In that moment,
- 1:15Speaker 1: David was not thinking about his destiny. He was thinking
- 1:18Speaker 1: about his anger. How often does this happen to us?
- 1:22Speaker 1: Someone hurts us, someone disappoints us, overlooks us, treats us unfairly,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and suddenly we're tempted to react emotionally. We want to
- 1:30Speaker 1: prove a point, we want to get even, we want
- 1:32Speaker 1: to say something we'll regret later. In those moments, one
- 1:36Speaker 1: bad decision can create consequences that last for years. But
- 1:42Speaker 1: God intervened through an unexpected messenger. Abigail, Nabel's wife courageously
- 1:47Speaker 1: met David on the road and spoke wisdom into a
- 1:50Speaker 1: heated situation. She appealed to the better part of David's character.
- 1:55Speaker 1: She reminded him that revenge was beneath the calling God
- 1:58Speaker 1: and placed on his life. In essence, she was saying, David,
- 2:02Speaker 1: don't you let a temporary emotion create a permanent stain
- 2:06Speaker 1: on your destiny. Come own, Jesus. The remarkable thing is
- 2:11Speaker 1: that David listened. He could have ignored her, He could
- 2:14Speaker 1: have justified his anger. He could have continued down the
- 2:17Speaker 1: path of destruction. Instead, he recognized that God had sent
- 2:21Speaker 1: the right voice at the right time. The truth is,
- 2:23Speaker 1: God still sends abigails into our lives today. He places
- 2:28Speaker 1: people around us who speak wisdom when we're about to
- 2:30Speaker 1: make a mistake. He sends voices that encourages us when
- 2:34Speaker 1: we're ready to quit. He sends people who challenge us
- 2:37Speaker 1: to rise above bitterness, compromise, pride, and offense. The key
- 2:41Speaker 1: is learning to recognize those voices. Not every voice deserves
- 2:45Speaker 1: your attention. Some voices fuel gossip, some encourage revenge, Some
- 2:49Speaker 1: promote fear, doubt, and negativity. Those voices may be loud,
- 2:55Speaker 1: but they are not leading you toward God's best. The
- 2:58Speaker 1: right voice will call you higher. They will remind you
- 3:02Speaker 1: of who you are. They will challenge you to choose
- 3:04Speaker 1: integrity over impulse, faith over fear, and purpose over temporary satisfaction.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Ask yourself, who am I listening to? Are the voices
- 3:13Speaker 1: influencing your life drawing you closer to God's plan or
- 3:16Speaker 1: distracting you from it? God cares too much about your
- 3:20Speaker 1: future to leave you without guidance. He will send wisdom,
- 3:23Speaker 1: He will send counsel. He will send an encouragement exactly
- 3:27Speaker 1: when you need it. So you stay humble enough to listen,
- 3:30Speaker 1: stay deserning enough to recognize God's voice through others and
- 3:33Speaker 1: stay wise enough to follow the voice that leads you
- 3:36Speaker 1: toward destiny. Oh Father, God, thank you for placing wise
- 3:40Speaker 1: and godly voices in our lives. Thank you for the
- 3:43Speaker 1: people who encourage us and challenge us and help us
- 3:46Speaker 1: make better decisions. God, give us desernment to recognize as
- 3:49Speaker 1: the voices that are leading us toward your purpose and wisdom,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and to ignore voices that pull us away. MMM. Help
- 3:56Speaker 1: us to respond with humility when you correct us and
- 3:59Speaker 1: encourage you guide us. God, let us always choose the
- 4:03Speaker 1: path that honors you and fulfills destiny in Jesus' name.
