Latest / Hutton & Withrow Show / Hutton & Withrow: Arch Manning LEAVING Texas? Titans STUN Colts, GM FIRED! | Hour 2
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Sutton and Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Accidents don't
- 0:04Speaker 1: wait for great timing. One bad moment, a wreck, a fall,
- 0:07Speaker 1: a doctor who wasn't paying attention. Suddenly you're fighting an
- 0:10Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. And that's
- 0:12Speaker 1: why Clay started Clay Travis Law. He's a Vanderbilt Law grad.
- 0:15Speaker 1: He built a firm around the idea that people deserve
- 0:17Speaker 1: someone who's willing to pay attention and ask the hard
- 0:20Speaker 1: questions and push back when things don't add up with
- 0:23Speaker 1: experienced trial attorneys who bring the fight to corporations and
- 0:26Speaker 1: insurers based in Nashville, trusted across the country.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, ride share accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 0:33Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 0:36Speaker 2: about it. And here's what they promise.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Honesty.
- 0:38Speaker 2: They don't sugarcoat your case. You'll hear what it's actually worth,
- 0:40Speaker 2: not what you want to hear. Case evaluation is free.
- 0:43Speaker 2: No charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Go to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com. No case
- 0:54Speaker 2: is too big or too small.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Chad, you're posing a question for a manning.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going to put this poll question up in
- 1:00Speaker 2: the YouTube chat also if you're watching there. So Arch
- 1:05Speaker 2: Manning clearly is not being developed at Texas. Let's go
- 1:08Speaker 2: ahead and call it what it is. I don't know
- 1:10Speaker 2: if he's not getting it and he's just not improving
- 1:13Speaker 2: and the coaching staff has done everything possible to improve
- 1:15Speaker 2: him and he's just not. Or Steve Sarkeesian and his
- 1:18Speaker 2: staff are doing a poor job of developing him to
- 1:21Speaker 2: improve because everyone expected it to be much better than
- 1:24Speaker 2: it was a year ago. It's not. In fact, it's worse.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Than it was a year ago right now for Arch
- 1:29Speaker 2: Manning and Texas. Again, a lot of contributing factors, not
- 1:32Speaker 2: putting it all on him, not putting it all on
- 1:34Speaker 2: the coaches, but there's some combination of something that's happening
- 1:37Speaker 2: that's leading to him not improving. So the question is this.
- 1:41Speaker 2: If you are Arch Manning, you've got three options next
- 1:44Speaker 2: season in football. Are you entering the NFL draft, even
- 1:48Speaker 2: though you clearly are not ready for the NFL, but
- 1:50Speaker 2: you will be drafted, likely in the first round, by
- 1:53Speaker 2: someone that'll take a chance on you?
- 1:55Speaker 4: Are you.
- 1:56Speaker 2: playing your career out at Texas and coming back for
- 1:59Speaker 2: another season? Or are you three other, which is transferring
- 2:05Speaker 2: anywhere else to play one season under a different staff
- 2:09Speaker 2: and be developed in a different way and go try
- 2:11Speaker 2: to make it happen somewhere else? And let's face it, too,
- 2:14Speaker 2: if they lose another game, the vitriol from Texas fans
- 2:18Speaker 2: in that situation is going to become almost unbearable for
- 2:22Speaker 2: Arch and for Steve Sarkeesian, for everyone, because that is
- 2:26Speaker 2: a team that has no business not playing in the
- 2:28Speaker 2: college football playoff. Given their roster allocation, given Wingo and
- 2:34Speaker 2: Coleman and Simmons and all the dudes they have on
- 2:37Speaker 2: both sides of the football, that is a gigantic disappointment
- 2:41Speaker 2: if that team cannot get in the college football playoff. Hutton,
- 2:44Speaker 2: which are you choosing of those three?
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm staying, and it's because I don't know if a
- 2:51Speaker 1: quarterback nowadays gets development like.
- 2:53Speaker 4: This over the course of one year.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Cam Ward is, I think, an outlier, so to speak,
- 3:02Speaker 1: where he was already throwing for tons of touchdowns. He
- 3:06Speaker 1: played in the wing tee offense in high school. That's
- 3:09Speaker 1: why he's overlooked and goes to incarnate word. And I'm
- 3:11Speaker 1: not saying that's the only reason, but he goes to
- 3:14Speaker 1: Washington State and balls out. Ends up at Miami for
- 3:18Speaker 1: one year and goes from a third-round pick to a
- 3:21Speaker 1: number-one overall pick. If you want to follow that path,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Manny needs to go to Miami. I don't see that happening.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But I don't see a lot of quarterback development, Chad.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I don't see quarterbacks nowadays coming in, reading defenses and
- 3:36Speaker 1: doing all these things the way that maybe we used
- 3:40Speaker 1: to with the old style of the way coaches and players,
- 3:47Speaker 1: quite frankly, stuck it out with one program. And I
- 3:51Speaker 1: would also stay because He's got the best mentors possible
- 3:55Speaker 1: in his family. So I don't think he needs to
- 3:59Speaker 1: go to some other school to develop. I think he
- 4:00Speaker 1: needs to go to the Manning Academy and develop. It's
- 4:03Speaker 1: that simple to me, and I would stay at Texas
- 4:06Speaker 1: simply because that's the structure and framework that they've set
- 4:09Speaker 1: up and that they've planned.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I think C. Sarkeesian's lost his fastball a
- 4:14Speaker 2: bit with play calling, too.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I do think that's part of it here.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I don't see... A lot of tweaks the way he
- 4:22Speaker 2: did for years to different things, the passing game, the
- 4:24Speaker 2: run game. They can't run it. I mean, also, you're
- 4:27Speaker 2: supposed to have this great offensive line, and you can't
- 4:30Speaker 2: run the football at all at Texas. There's just some
- 4:34Speaker 2: questions I have a hard time answering about what's going
- 4:36Speaker 2: on at Texas this year with that team. And I
- 4:39Speaker 2: do think that Arch Manning is a big part of
- 4:41Speaker 2: the problem at Texas. I would leave. I would transfer out.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I'm going to give you two places that I would
- 4:47Speaker 2: consider it. One is your family school, Ole Miss. Trinidad-Chambers
- 4:51Speaker 2: is going to be gone after this year. Would Pete
- 4:54Speaker 2: Golding and that environment be a breath of fresh air
- 4:58Speaker 2: for Arch to finish out his career as an Ole
- 5:00Speaker 2: Miss Rebel? In that offense, we know they've got talent
- 5:03Speaker 2: on that roster too. I think that would be a
- 5:06Speaker 2: pretty comfortable landing spot for the Manning family and for
- 5:10Speaker 2: Arch to go be a reverse one and done at
- 5:13Speaker 2: Ole Miss. Your family institutions. with your dad graduating from there,
- 5:18Speaker 2: your uncle Eli graduating from there, and of course, grandpa
- 5:21Speaker 2: Archie being an all-time legend on the Oxford campus. I
- 5:25Speaker 2: would consider that. Here's another one I consider. Michigan and
- 5:28Speaker 2: Kyle Whittingham. Michigan just benched their quarterback, Bryce Underwood. I
- 5:33Speaker 2: don't think Bryce Underwood's going to be around next year
- 5:35Speaker 2: at Michigan, the way things are trending right now. Would
- 5:38Speaker 2: Michigan be interested in a one-season veteran Arch Manning coming
- 5:42Speaker 2: in with that Kyle Whittingham system? that at times is
- 5:46Speaker 2: a lot more pro-style also, and would the Michigan coaches
- 5:50Speaker 2: be good at developing an Arch Manning for one year?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Those are two schools I would consider if I am
- 5:55Speaker 2: Arch Manning. He is not ready for the NFL. If
- 5:59Speaker 2: you get some grade that you're going to be drafted
- 6:00Speaker 2: in the first round, I understand him making the decision
- 6:03Speaker 2: to go ahead and go to the NFL and sit.
- 6:05Speaker 2: He sat for two years at Texas. He's got no
- 6:07Speaker 2: problem sitting and learning, and you can go somewhere and
- 6:10Speaker 2: learn for a year and develop in the NFL also.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I get that that's an option, but I'm not normally
- 6:17Speaker 2: one to say leave the school you've committed to and
- 6:20Speaker 2: played multiple years for another school. But more and more,
- 6:23Speaker 2: when I watch that Texas team play and the mistakes
- 6:25Speaker 2: by Arch and the mistake late in that game on
- 6:28Speaker 2: Saturday and that home loss to Florida, I think he
- 6:31Speaker 2: would do well to leave and go get a fresh
- 6:34Speaker 2: start somewhere else for one year.
- 6:35Speaker 1: He's not going to be able to find the talent
- 6:37Speaker 1: around him somewhere else like that. I'm talking about Michigan
- 6:41Speaker 1: compared to Texas. Chad, I look at this and go, development-wise,
- 6:47Speaker 1: if that's what the question is surrounding, like where do
- 6:49Speaker 1: you go for that reason, I just don't think he
- 6:51Speaker 1: makes a huge jump no matter where he goes. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: will say this, though. The Ole Miss thing is fascinating.
- 6:58Speaker 1: How much of that decision came down to Kiffin being there?
- 7:01Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:03Speaker 1: And maybe does Charlie Weiss Jr. end up with a
- 7:06Speaker 1: head coaching job somewhere at a program? Because he certainly–
- 7:12Speaker 1: He knows the quarterback touch as well. That would be key.
- 7:17Speaker 1: To me, we would see a jump this year in Manning.
- 7:22Speaker 1: We haven't seen that. We've seen a quarter. And sitting
- 7:28Speaker 1: two years for a reason to develop, And trying to
- 7:32Speaker 1: make the next– I don't think we see that just
- 7:35Speaker 1: by a transfer. It's got to be within the mechanics
- 7:38Speaker 1: and everything. And I think that reading defenses, I think
- 7:40Speaker 1: that's more– he's got the resources around him. And I also–
- 7:44Speaker 1: I don't think it's necessarily about which program but which
- 7:47Speaker 1: coach you're going to. And who's the quarterback whisperer? It
- 7:49Speaker 1: was Lincoln Riley. That's gone to the wayside. Which guy
- 7:56Speaker 1: is going to have that perfect connection– with the quarterback
- 7:59Speaker 1: to turn the corner and get him ready for the NFL.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I don't think he's ready for that within just one year.
- 8:04Speaker 1: If we're talking just to get out from what's happening
- 8:08Speaker 1: in Texas, if it's not his issue, it's the play
- 8:11Speaker 1: calling and it's the vibe, then absolutely. But if we're
- 8:15Speaker 1: talking development, I don't think he makes the big swing
- 8:18Speaker 1: just by moving. Who would be the quarterback whisperer right now?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Kurt Cignetti. is one guy I would trust. I mean,
- 8:28Speaker 2: I don't, I think Josh Hoover is the one and done,
- 8:30Speaker 2: but maybe he has one more year where he could
- 8:32Speaker 2: come back also at Indiana. So I'd have to see that.
- 8:34Speaker 2: But if Indiana had an opening, there's another one.
- 8:36Speaker 4: That's a great one. Throw in the mix.
- 8:37Speaker 2: I don't know that Kurt Zanetti would want Arch Manning, honestly,
- 8:40Speaker 2: based on what we've seen from Arch Manning right now,
- 8:42Speaker 2: as opposed to other quarterbacks, he could go get in
- 8:44Speaker 2: the transfer portal and Indiana is going to spend top
- 8:46Speaker 2: dollar for a quarterback as well. And we've seen that already.
- 8:50Speaker 2: So he's in a difficult spot. and Texas is in
- 8:54Speaker 2: a very difficult spot right now with Sarkeesian. They lost
- 8:57Speaker 2: back-to-back years to Florida. They lost to Billy Napier, and
- 8:59Speaker 2: now they lost to John Sumrall, who was reeling coming
- 9:02Speaker 2: into this game, the way Florida had looked, with a
- 9:04Speaker 2: backup quarterback in Tramell Jones Jr., who made an unbelievable
- 9:07Speaker 2: play to ice that game where he avoids the sack
- 9:11Speaker 2: and is able to run and pick up a first
- 9:13Speaker 2: down to basically end it for Florida.
- 9:17Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 9:17Speaker 2: And then they've got tricky games. on the horizon where
- 9:20Speaker 2: now every single game is do or die for the
- 9:23Speaker 2: Texas Longhorns with those two losses already.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Again, we're going to put a poll up in the chat.
- 9:29Speaker 1: You can stay, you can go to the NFL, or
- 9:33Speaker 1: you can transfer. Which one are you checking right now?
- 9:36Speaker 1: You can jump in the chat and get in there
- 9:38Speaker 1: and let us know your thoughts on this. The storyline-wise, man,
- 9:42Speaker 1: it would be like, what's the Manning watch like compared
- 9:47Speaker 1: to Peyton whenever he was trying to find his team?
- 9:49Speaker 1: What's the arch watch like whenever he enters the portal?
- 9:52Speaker 4: That would be insane to me. It's going to be
- 9:55Speaker 4: it's going to be crazy.
- 9:56Speaker 2: But you know, when Peyton Manning declared in 97 that
- 10:02Speaker 2: he was coming back for his senior year, that was
- 10:04Speaker 2: like a state holiday in the state of Tennessee. I
- 10:06Speaker 2: remember watching that in my freshman year of high school,
- 10:10Speaker 2: we had the TV rolled out and we watched Peyton
- 10:12Speaker 2: Manning's announcement in the afternoon on television and in my
- 10:16Speaker 2: physical science class at the time, and everybody was going
- 10:19Speaker 2: nuts when he declared he's going back to Tennessee. You're
- 10:21Speaker 2: not going to get some ticker tape parade if he
- 10:23Speaker 2: announces he's coming back to Texas right now. You're just not.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Not from Longhorn fans, not with the production, not with their–
- 10:30Speaker 2: they've got a really solid chance of missing the playoff
- 10:32Speaker 2: this year. Yeah, you're not going.
- 10:35Speaker 4: To get that.
- 10:36Speaker 2: It's not going to be like Uncle Peyton deciding that
- 10:39Speaker 2: he's coming back to Tennessee for one more year. I'll
- 10:41Speaker 2: tell you that. If he enters the portal, Hutton, here's
- 10:45Speaker 2: what I believe about him and his family. There will
- 10:48Speaker 2: be no watch. He will have decided he is going somewhere.
- 10:52Speaker 2: He will not do a lot of fanfare with it.
- 10:54Speaker 2: It will be an immediate decision. Boom, I'm in the portal. Boom,
- 10:57Speaker 2: I'm at Michigan. Or boom, I'm at Ole Miss. Or boom,
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm at Indiana. They will have made that decision before
- 11:02Speaker 2: they even entered the portal, and they will not make
- 11:04Speaker 2: some media circus spectacle out of him leaving and going
- 11:08Speaker 2: somewhere else. It'll be very quick, and it'll be announced
- 11:10Speaker 2: very quickly.
- 11:11Speaker 1: And that will be when the parade begins at the
- 11:14Speaker 1: other school, not at Texas. But the manning coming there,
- 11:17Speaker 1: that's where the parade begins.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Well, and someone said, you know, Ole Miss is the
- 11:21Speaker 2: one place where they would worship him on name alone.
- 11:24Speaker 2: and have a lot of patience with him, even in
- 11:26Speaker 2: one season. If he went there, every other school would probably,
- 11:30Speaker 2: Michigan included, would be like, hey, prove it, dude. We
- 11:34Speaker 2: don't care about you. Go win games. Go produce. We
- 11:37Speaker 2: don't care about your last name.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I think they would love it just based on the
- 11:41Speaker 1: quarterback play that they're getting. Some of these places have
- 11:43Speaker 1: just burned out to where you're just like, you're not
- 11:45Speaker 1: watching Manning on a weekly basis. The name alone would
- 11:48Speaker 1: carry some– I mean, even in the NFL– You know, Chad,
- 11:52Speaker 1: was it last week? Two weeks ago, we're discussing these
- 11:56Speaker 1: mock drafts and who left Manning out in the first round.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You know, like, he's still a high pick based on
- 12:04Speaker 1: some mocks that we're seeing.
- 12:05Speaker 4: Maybe not.
- 12:07Speaker 2: But the brand alone matters. Beer League Live in the
- 12:10Speaker 2: chat says, Arch is too classy for Michigan. Beer League
- 12:13Speaker 2: Live understands what I've said for years about the Michigan man,
- 12:16Speaker 2: that it's a myth. There's no such thing as a
- 12:18Speaker 2: Michigan man. Michigan men are no better than men from
- 12:21Speaker 2: other schools, and they proved that with some of their
- 12:23Speaker 2: decision-making with that program in recent years.
- 12:26Speaker 1: But to me, it's not Michigan, it's the coach. The
- 12:29Speaker 1: head coach is worthy of Manning. I'll say that with
- 12:33Speaker 1: what he's doing and what he's had to do to
- 12:34Speaker 1: try to fix the program. But yeah, I don't know
- 12:38Speaker 1: if the Big Ten is Manning. Is the Big Ten
- 12:42Speaker 1: worthy of Manning, Chad?
- 12:45Speaker 2: We're only five minutes into our poll, but right now 67%
- 12:48Speaker 2: are voting other to transfer somewhere else. 33% are voting NFL. 0%
- 12:54Speaker 2: have voted to stay at Texas if you were Arch
- 12:58Speaker 2: Manning moving forward.
- 13:00Speaker 4: We got a lot of A & M fans there.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Well done. Coming up, Cam Ward certainly moved around. He
- 13:09Speaker 1: didn't do very much yesterday at Indianapolis, but the Titans
- 13:13Speaker 1: get their first win. Chad, let's discuss how this Titans
- 13:17Speaker 1: team wins football games right now and last year and
- 13:20Speaker 1: how they're going about things moving forward where they're still
- 13:24Speaker 1: developing their quarterback and they have a very specific way
- 13:27Speaker 1: to win. They need points from other phases of their team.
- 13:31Speaker 1: That's straight ahead here on Hutton & Withrow. It's Hutton &
- 13:34Speaker 1: Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Chad, Crockett Coffee is
- 13:39Speaker 1: sold at the Alamo, and we need to also get
- 13:43Speaker 1: Crockett Coffee inside Davy Crockett Tower, which is right here.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Look at this, Jack. Davy Crockett Tower. It's beautiful. You
- 13:51Speaker 4: know what would be even.
- 13:52Speaker 2: More beautiful, Hutton? Replacing that Y with an ID. That
- 13:55Speaker 2: would be even better. And my Davy Crockett Tower, that's
- 14:00Speaker 2: how that.
- 14:01Speaker 4: Sign would look.
- 14:02Speaker 1: He would certainly do it because it's David Crockett. Crockett Coffee,
- 14:05Speaker 1: started by Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Buck's brother, Mason.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Named after David Crockett, the hunter, the storyteller, the patriot,
- 14:11Speaker 1: the backwoods legend. 100% pure Arabica, high altitude beans, small

- 14:18Speaker 1: the country. It ships fresh roasted to you. It's not
- 14:20Speaker 1: sitting on the warehouse shelf for six months. Light, medium, dark, decaf, organic,
- 14:25Speaker 1: even a mushroom blend. Chad goes with the King Mountain.

- 14:58Speaker 1: The Titans get the victory. They are not going 0-17,
- 15:03Speaker 1: believe it or not. But in order to get a win,
- 15:07Speaker 1: it wasn't as bad and as fortunate as they had
- 15:12Speaker 1: last year in Cam Ward's first victory, which came against
- 15:15Speaker 1: the Arizona Cardinals, where DeMarcato's dropping the football on the
- 15:19Speaker 1: one-yard line instead of going into the end zone on
- 15:22Speaker 1: a huge run at running back.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Chad, it took six sacks. It took three turnovers.
- 15:30Speaker 1: The special teams counting the field goals that the offense
- 15:32Speaker 1: did at least put in position to kick. They were
- 15:37Speaker 1: put in position based on a strip fumble, a big
- 15:40Speaker 1: punt return. Special teams ends up accounting for 19 points
- 15:44Speaker 1: of their 26. But the Titans are on the board
- 15:47Speaker 1: with win number one on a week where the quarterback
- 15:49Speaker 1: barely threw for 100 yards. And they're already bottom of
- 15:53Speaker 1: the league in time of possession. And yesterday in Indianapolis,
- 15:56Speaker 1: they were below even that league, their season average, the
- 16:01Speaker 1: lowest of their season so far. They win anyway. What
- 16:04Speaker 1: a horrendous performance by Daniel Jones and the Colts. They're
- 16:07Speaker 1: wanting to burn the team down now. I don't blame them.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And for the Titans, they end up getting a victory
- 16:14Speaker 1: Monday and a different vibe. for what will be a
- 16:20Speaker 1: win that ends up changing the conversation a bit. And
- 16:22Speaker 1: then I want to get your thoughts on the game.
- 16:24Speaker 1: And then I want to tell you where the Titans
- 16:27Speaker 1: really won on Sunday.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Well, for the first time, I actually thought to myself,
- 16:34Speaker 2: maybe that lady on the sideline with the headset should
- 16:37Speaker 2: coach this team in Carly Gordon Ursa. As I'm watching
- 16:41Speaker 2: the Titans, they're going to walk into Indy and win
- 16:43Speaker 2: the game. I'm thinking, You know, maybe she's on to
- 16:45Speaker 2: something when she was asking that staffer about why they
- 16:48Speaker 2: called something else.
- 16:49Speaker 4: 13-0.
- 16:50Speaker 2: I kind of want a Tom Haywood situation from Little
- 16:52Speaker 2: Big League where the owner steps into the managerial role
- 16:56Speaker 2: and takes over the team. So I'm totally fine if
- 16:58Speaker 2: I'm a Colts fan with Carly Gordon Ursae coaching the
- 17:01Speaker 2: team the rest of the way after what I saw
- 17:02Speaker 2: from that Colts team. Block pump for a touchdown is
- 17:05Speaker 2: the difference in the game for the Titans. I mean,
- 17:07Speaker 2: let's call it what it is. Big play by Titans
- 17:10Speaker 2: special teams, but they win by six and That ends
- 17:13Speaker 2: up being the difference. Good performance by the Titans defense,
- 17:16Speaker 2: especially in that second half. They're down 13-0 at halftime.
- 17:20Speaker 2: At halftime of the game, and I didn't post it,
- 17:22Speaker 2: but I'm thinking, this is a soul-sucking experience watching this
- 17:26Speaker 2: Titans team.
- 17:27Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Not only are they winless, it is so boring. And
- 17:32Speaker 2: there is nothing happening. And not only do they suck
- 17:35Speaker 2: the life out of all their own fans, every game
- 17:38Speaker 2: they're in is just endless suffering. siege of pride and
- 17:42Speaker 2: joy of watching them play. Like, it's 13-0. I'm thinking,
- 17:47Speaker 2: I just want to go to sleep. This is so
- 17:50Speaker 2: awful to watch. It is terrible. And then they come
- 17:53Speaker 2: back with defense and special teams and win. Cam Ward
- 17:55Speaker 2: was 11 for 22 with 102 yards, a touchdown, and
- 17:58Speaker 2: an interception in the game. He had a QBR of
- 18:02Speaker 2: 42.4 in this game. That's the least amount of yards
- 18:07Speaker 2: any starting quarterback who finished a game has had and
- 18:11Speaker 2: the lowest QBR they've had to win all season. And
- 18:14Speaker 2: Cam Ward's jumping up and down the sideline celebrating with
- 18:16Speaker 2: everyone and running onto the field and celebrating with players
- 18:20Speaker 2: left and right in the game. Hutton, I don't know
- 18:23Speaker 2: how I feel. I mean, look, a win is better
- 18:24Speaker 2: than a loss. You know, if you're a Titans fan,
- 18:27Speaker 2: I give them credit for finding a way to win
- 18:30Speaker 2: the game and getting their first win of the season.
- 18:33Speaker 2: But I also don't know how anyone can feel better
- 18:34Speaker 2: about Cam Ward as the future quarterback coming out of
- 18:37Speaker 2: this game.
- 18:38Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:40Speaker 1: He didn't play well. It was not a great performance,
- 18:42Speaker 1: to say the least. It was bad because they're not
- 18:45Speaker 1: moving the football. Look, Brian Dable– He.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Also didn't lose the game. I'll say that. He didn't
- 18:50Speaker 2: make a dumb mistake, multiple turnovers. He stayed out of
- 18:54Speaker 2: the Titans' way enough for them to win.
- 18:56Speaker 1: There are two plays, though, where he is a part
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the reasons why. The Cardinal-Tate catches. There was a
- 19:03Speaker 1: third down conversion where Tate makes the catch on the boundary.
- 19:07Speaker 1: A great catch. Also a great throw. That's an NFL
- 19:10Speaker 1: throw that he made. It was a fantastic, fantastic play.
- 19:15Speaker 1: That was the third down right after Jeffrey Simmons had
- 19:20Speaker 1: the strip fumble, the first play on Jonathan Taylor. I
- 19:23Speaker 1: thought that was the play that really sparked everything. was
- 19:26Speaker 1: Jeffrey Simmons making that play. That leads to that third
- 19:28Speaker 1: down conversion. They don't drive and get a touchdown there
- 19:31Speaker 1: by any means. They can't. But they get the third
- 19:35Speaker 1: down conversion. Number two was the touchdown to Cardell Tate,
- 19:38Speaker 1: the throw and the catch. Tate's getting his. This is
- 19:42Speaker 1: now two out of the last three weeks where he
- 19:44Speaker 1: looks like a true number one receiver.
- 19:46Speaker 4: That's the spark.
- 19:47Speaker 1: That's the one bright spot on this Titans offense.
- 19:50Speaker 4: I'm with you, man. It is a bore.
- 19:53Speaker 1: It's something to behold at least once. I would recommend
- 19:56Speaker 1: watching them twice. But you have the block punt for
- 19:59Speaker 1: the touchdown. You have the fumble that sets them up
- 20:03Speaker 1: in Colts territory. You have the turnovers. You have the sacks.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I mean, the defensive line got after it. And it
- 20:10Speaker 1: wasn't just the second half. I mean, they were doing
- 20:12Speaker 1: this in the first half, too. Amani Hooker, great, great interception.
- 20:16Speaker 1: But the offense just doesn't do anything with it. They're
- 20:18Speaker 1: down 13-0 to half. They end up winning and coming
- 20:21Speaker 1: out in the third quarter. And the fourth quarter is
- 20:23Speaker 1: where they really sparked everything. And they get points on
- 20:27Speaker 1: special teams and defense.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Chad, the real winner, the Titans had two wins yesterday.
- 20:34Speaker 1: They went on the field, and then Burke Nihill wins.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Because this is exactly what they set up going into
- 20:40Speaker 1: the weekend. They have the news dump where he does
- 20:42Speaker 1: the interviews with Corey Curtis of News 2 and with
- 20:46Speaker 1: Teron Davenport of ESPN. They selected those outlets, the partner,
- 20:50Speaker 1: their media partner on TV, and ESPN outlet with TD.
- 20:55Speaker 1: The reasons why, and let's just think this through. They're
- 20:58Speaker 1: going to the weekend. Tennessee, Alabama wins. And they have
- 21:02Speaker 1: the Titans game against the Colts. On Monday, the conversation
- 21:05Speaker 1: is all about Tennessee, Alabama, and the Titans getting their
- 21:08Speaker 1: first win. They dumped it to those outlets, News 2,
- 21:12Speaker 1: their partner. ESPN, if you give it to them, they're
- 21:15Speaker 1: not going to put it on their front page. It's
- 21:18Speaker 1: not front page worthy on that Friday.
- 21:20Speaker 4: So it's buried. And the Titans don't do, they don't
- 21:23Speaker 4: even put anything on their website. Titans Radio doesn't do anything.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Nothing's being talked about now in regards to that.
- 21:30Speaker 4: And he spoke.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I bet they planned this on Tuesday to stay radio
- 21:34Speaker 1: silent until Friday. Didn't do all the outlets because then
- 21:38Speaker 1: it would be blown up because there are outlets that
- 21:40Speaker 1: want to discuss and a fan base that wants to
- 21:42Speaker 1: hear from him. But the conversation changes over the course
- 21:45Speaker 1: of three days. From Friday, Saturday to Sunday, now Monday,
- 21:48Speaker 1: no one's leading with this. And I wanted to point
- 21:50Speaker 1: that out. That's another victory for them because everything died
- 21:53Speaker 1: out after a week where they're at the lowest point
- 21:56Speaker 1: of their franchise. They had the ability to say they've
- 21:59Speaker 1: spoken without anybody actually knowing.
- 22:01Speaker 2: That they spoke. You're spot on in the time they
- 22:05Speaker 2: did it and where they did it. And they got
- 22:07Speaker 2: friendly interviewers. I mean, I'm sorry, but when Corey Curtis
- 22:11Speaker 2: opens the interview by saying, hey, I'm trying to tell
- 22:13Speaker 2: people that the same people are in charge that were
- 22:16Speaker 2: here when the team was winning and had six straight
- 22:19Speaker 2: winning seasons. And I'm thinking that's not even accurate. Burke
- 22:23Speaker 2: Nihill took over in 2020 after the run to the
- 22:26Speaker 2: AFC championship game. took over immediately after that, and they
- 22:29Speaker 2: were still pretty good in the beginning of that. But,
- 22:33Speaker 2: I mean, it's been really bad since the decision to
- 22:36Speaker 2: fire John Robinson followed by the decision to fire Mike Vrabel.
- 22:40Speaker 2: And I still don't see it as an organization that's
- 22:43Speaker 2: fan-friendly with anything. Instead of being transparent, they'd rather take
- 22:48Speaker 2: themselves off the website so people can't go search and
- 22:51Speaker 2: find their name or find out how to email them.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And then instead of doing an actual– interview with some
- 22:57Speaker 2: substance to it with a Paul Koharski or an us
- 23:02Speaker 2: or a Jared Stillman. or any number of people decide
- 23:05Speaker 2: to go to it. They decide to go to a
- 23:07Speaker 2: guy who's going to start the interview by talking about
- 23:10Speaker 2: how successful the organization was, even though they're not successful
- 23:13Speaker 2: right now. So.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Jed, you're right. And I want to say this, like.
- 23:16Speaker 2: They get no credit with me for doing that.
- 23:18Speaker 4: None at all. Exactly.
- 23:20Speaker 1: But the conversation isn't about that anymore. And I want
- 23:23Speaker 1: to mention that because if you think about it, this
- 23:26Speaker 1: was planned perfectly by them. It's a great decision by
- 23:29Speaker 1: them if they don't want to speak and they want,
- 23:31Speaker 1: they need to.
- 23:32Speaker 4: So they do.
- 23:33Speaker 1: But it's not heard and it's not even being thought
- 23:35Speaker 1: about today. It's weird. And I would also say, I'm
- 23:39Speaker 1: not even trying to pick and choose the outlets that
- 23:40Speaker 1: they spoke to. Do a press conference and speak to everyone.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Do something on the website. If I want to hear
- 23:47Speaker 1: from the Titans and I can't hear from the outlets,
- 23:49Speaker 1: I'm going to go to the website. There's nothing there.
- 23:52Speaker 1: So they did something without really doing anything.
- 23:56Speaker 4: If that makes sense. And that was.
- 23:59Speaker 1: That's my overall point there. And by the way, the
- 24:02Speaker 1: whole thing about the people being in charge, those guys
- 24:05Speaker 1: are long gone. Burke Nihill, again, he's a nice guy.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I like Burke. But the way this got about, he
- 24:12Speaker 1: sat in front of me, a couple rows in front
- 24:15Speaker 1: of me, on the team bus whenever we're going to
- 24:18Speaker 1: the stadium on Sundays, when we're on the road, when
- 24:20Speaker 1: I was with Titans Radio. I sat behind Burke Nihill.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I didn't sit behind ownership.
- 24:25Speaker 4: At that time. I didn't sit behind.
- 24:26Speaker 1: He was either general counsel or he was the team president.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But whenever he became team president, that was my final
- 24:32Speaker 1: season during COVID. So I didn't witness those in charge,
- 24:38Speaker 1: so to speak. That's not the credit. It's about where
- 24:43Speaker 1: we are now and how we got here. And the
- 24:45Speaker 1: voice of ownership spoke to two outlets. And the next
- 24:49Speaker 1: time we hear from anyone, other than the head coach
- 24:51Speaker 1: or quarterback, It'll be like Borgonzi around the trade deadline
- 24:54Speaker 1: because he has to speak because of the media contract
- 24:58Speaker 1: with the league.
- 24:59Speaker 4: That's it.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Other people will be speaking publicly. And by the way,
- 25:05Speaker 1: they're not going to pick outlets. They'll have a press
- 25:07Speaker 1: conference and discuss things. Yeah.
- 25:09Speaker 2: And then they'll go to who they want to go
- 25:10Speaker 2: to and then they'll dodge any real questions. Feslov in
- 25:14Speaker 2: the chat says, sport and state greater than state-run media,
- 25:18Speaker 2: a la WKRN and WGFX.
- 25:20Speaker 4: Hey, I love Fes.
- 25:22Speaker 2: When we were at WGFX, we're not agreeing. That's Slappy Fes.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I know.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Okay, okay.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We're not agreeing to do that interview unless we can
- 25:33Speaker 2: do the interview.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Right.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I feel confident about that. My point is, even when
- 25:38Speaker 2: we were under the Titans radio system, umbrella, our old show.
- 25:42Speaker 2: And I know for a fact, PK would not have
- 25:45Speaker 2: agreed to do the interview. It's like, Hey guys, you
- 25:47Speaker 2: can only ask this, or you got to ask it
- 25:49Speaker 2: in this way. And Oh, by the way, can you
- 25:50Speaker 2: drop in there that this is the guy who had
- 25:52Speaker 2: all the success? No, it would have been fair. It
- 25:54Speaker 2: would have been professional. We wouldn't have been screaming at
- 25:56Speaker 2: the guy. No, we would have asked, we would have
- 25:58Speaker 2: asked realistic questions about the team. Uh, when, when done
- 26:02Speaker 2: with that, I mean, I want to say this, like
- 26:04Speaker 2: I watched the full interview with Corey, Corey asked some
- 26:07Speaker 2: good questions.
- 26:08Speaker 1: But you can't lead like that. And I'm with you, Chad.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I'm not going to watch the full interview because of
- 26:15Speaker 2: how it started. I know.
- 26:15Speaker 4: I get it. I'm with you. I'm not.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Like if you get a chance with that guy that
- 26:21Speaker 2: has been a part of all this and that's how
- 26:23Speaker 2: you lead it, that's all I need to know about
- 26:25Speaker 2: the interview. And that's a lesson for anybody out there.
- 26:28Speaker 2: When you start that way, you've completely turned off the
- 26:34Speaker 2: people that want to actually get answers or have, you know,
- 26:37Speaker 2: actual questions thrown their way.
- 26:39Speaker 1: So I'm not going to watch it. Here's why they
- 26:42Speaker 1: also did one outlet like that. The other television stations
- 26:45Speaker 1: in the market are not going to play it because
- 26:47Speaker 1: it's a competitor. So it's just one station and one
- 26:51Speaker 1: specific audience. It's not the full Titans audience.
- 26:54Speaker 4: You see what I'm saying?
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, shout out Mike Keith for getting off the
- 27:01Speaker 2: Titanic when he did. His calls on Saturday of the
- 27:04Speaker 2: Tennessee win over Alabama were glorious. from before the game
- 27:08Speaker 2: to the end of the game to the calls during
- 27:10Speaker 2: the game, I watched the cut-up of all the highlights
- 27:12Speaker 2: of the game and then the end and his delivery of,
- 27:15Speaker 2: this is what Josh Heupel does in Neyland Stadium. He
- 27:19Speaker 2: beats Alabama. Not here, not today. It was great. And
- 27:22Speaker 2: I'm thinking, imagine calling that game in that atmosphere and
- 27:28Speaker 2: then realizing, you know, if I hadn't left, I would
- 27:31Speaker 2: be an Indy watching Carly Gordon Ursae on the sideline
- 27:36Speaker 2: as the Titans find a way not to trip over
- 27:39Speaker 2: the other unit and win a game.
- 27:42Speaker 1: The Titans get it done again. Chad, the other thing,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I sent him a text. Father of eight. There he is,
- 27:47Speaker 1: the father of eight. And the winner of one game.
- 27:51Speaker 1: In this NFL season.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Holy cow. Speaking of winner of no game NFL season,
- 27:55Speaker 2: Mike McDaniel's got to get fired, right? Yes.
- 27:57Speaker 4: From the Chargers.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I mean, immediately. I know everybody's talking about it, but
- 28:00Speaker 2: how has that not been announced yet?
- 28:01Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 28:02Speaker 2: That is a train wreck of a season right now
- 28:04Speaker 2: for the Chargers.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I asked Mike, by the way, I said, which is better?
- 28:07Speaker 1: Because I've traveled with him with the Nashville Cats in 2006.
- 28:11Speaker 4: Which is better, Mike?
- 28:12Speaker 1: The cigar after this win or the cigar after Grand
- 28:15Speaker 1: Rapids Rampage against Nashville Cats? And he's like, this one
- 28:18Speaker 1: feels pretty good.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 2: He, I mean, it's just, look, regardless of where Tennessee's
- 28:25Speaker 2: season goes or doesn't go or anything else, I'm just
- 28:27Speaker 2: thinking calling those games in these SEC cathedrals for a
- 28:33Speaker 2: way more serious organization in Tennessee football than where you
- 28:37Speaker 2: were and seeing the writing on the wall, I just
- 28:39Speaker 2: want to give high praise to Mike Keith for getting
- 28:42Speaker 2: out when he did.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And as we're talking about this, Carly Ersig-Gordon, has released
- 28:48Speaker 1: a statement.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Did I say Carly Gordon Ursae? My apologies to Carly
- 28:51Speaker 2: Ursae Gordon for flip-flopping her hyphenated name.
- 28:55Speaker 1: They fired Chris Ballard, their general manager. By the way,
- 28:59Speaker 1: we're hearing from ownership in this chat with the statement,
- 29:01Speaker 1: and it sounds a lot like Amy Adams-Trump used to release.
- 29:05Speaker 1: As I said at the start of the season, the
- 29:06Speaker 1: sense of urgency has never been higher. Our standard is
- 29:09Speaker 1: to compete for championships, and I believe a change in
- 29:11Speaker 1: leadership is necessary to meet that standard. Making this change
- 29:14Speaker 1: during the season was a deliberate decision Waiting would only
- 29:18Speaker 1: delay the important work that needs to begin now. We
- 29:20Speaker 1: will conduct a thorough search of our next general manager
- 29:23Speaker 1: and take the time necessary to identify the right leader
- 29:25Speaker 1: for the future of this organization. I also want to
- 29:27Speaker 1: be clear. This decision does not change our goals.
- 29:29Speaker 4: For the season.
- 29:30Speaker 1: We have a lot of football in front of us,
- 29:31Speaker 1: and I expect to compete, improve, and win football games.
- 29:34Speaker 1: That's directly to the coaching staff.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Win or peace. You're next.
- 29:39Speaker 2: You're next, Al. I'll take that clipboard and headset and
- 29:42Speaker 2: call the plays. This is what Carly Ursae Gordon, I
- 29:45Speaker 2: don't know why I was flip-flopping the two.
- 29:47Speaker 4: That's fine.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Hey, strong move. Strong move by her to fire. And also,
- 29:51Speaker 2: a lesson to Amy Adams-Strong. This is when you fire
- 29:54Speaker 2: the GM. You know, not when you're in first place.
- 29:56Speaker 2: You fire the GM after you blow a 13-0 halftime
- 29:59Speaker 2: lead to the lowly Tennessee Titans and can't do anything
- 30:02Speaker 2: on offense, and you're clearly out of it, and you're,
- 30:06Speaker 2: I guess now, a game ahead. They've won two, right?
- 30:09Speaker 2: So they're a game ahead still of the Titans in
- 30:11Speaker 2: the division. But, yeah, this is when you fire the
- 30:13Speaker 2: GM and not when you're in first place.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Late in the season. And there you go. Oh, this
- 30:20Speaker 4: is a great one.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Brian Dable and Daniel Jones finally combine to get a
- 30:23Speaker 1: general manager fired.
- 30:28Speaker 2: That's really good. Whoever wrote that one, kudos.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Sean Marash did. Schefter's also reporting that Andy Dalton's back
- 30:36Speaker 1: in the league, signing with the Falcons.
- 30:38Speaker 4: There he is. He's making the rounds. He's the new Fitzpatrick.
- 30:41Speaker 4: There you go.
- 30:41Speaker 2: But also, somehow, someway. My fantasy team beat JT's fantasy
- 30:46Speaker 2: team yesterday with Derrick Henry, my two running backs, Derrick Henry,
- 30:50Speaker 2: who did absolutely nothing against the Browns, and Cam Scadaboo,
- 30:55Speaker 2: who didn't get a single carry. And then was it
- 30:57Speaker 2: John Harbaugh's ass? He's like, he's been benched. No, no, no,
- 31:00Speaker 2: not benched. That's just what the game called for. And
- 31:03Speaker 2: I'm thinking, what? What? You absolutely bet he was healthy
- 31:07Speaker 2: and available. He did not get a single carry in
- 31:10Speaker 2: the game. I thought, was he hurt early in the game? No.
- 31:13Speaker 2: They just elected not to run Cam Scadaboo, their number
- 31:15Speaker 2: one running back in every other game, because he's in
- 31:18Speaker 2: the doghouse with John Harbaugh. And he got zero points
- 31:21Speaker 2: for me. And my quarterback hunting was Dak Prescott, who,
- 31:24Speaker 2: as you know, did not do a lot offensively last
- 31:26Speaker 2: night in the loss to Packers. But Dak Prescott, because
- 31:29Speaker 2: they threw the ball 54 times, because they were down
- 31:32Speaker 2: so much the whole game, got me just enough points.
- 31:35Speaker 2: And Matthew Golden for the Packers helped out in that game.
- 31:38Speaker 2: And I defeated JT, who I think is on a
- 31:40Speaker 2: three-game losing streak now.
- 31:42Speaker 1: JT probably had every player on a bye. JT, is
- 31:45Speaker 1: that right?
- 31:46Speaker 2: Are you on a three-game losing streak after this L? No.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Todd, looking this over, the defense, how they're doing this
- 31:52Speaker 3: stuff in defense right now is ridiculous. But most importantly,
- 31:54Speaker 3: I think instead of us talking about losing streaks, we
- 31:57Speaker 3: need to maybe go to.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Break, guys.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Not something I really want to discuss right now. Kind
- 32:03Speaker 2: of not fair.
- 32:04Speaker 3: When I looked last night, Chad, it was– I think
- 32:07Speaker 3: you had a.
- 32:09Speaker 4: 57, 58% chance to win.
- 32:12Speaker 3: And I was like, okay, but Dak and– yeah, and
- 32:15Speaker 3: I just– it fell apart.
- 32:17Speaker 2: It fell apart.
- 32:18Speaker 4: Well, it definitely fell apart.
- 32:20Speaker 2: JT.
- 32:21Speaker 4: JT now to the back of the line. Out of
- 32:23Speaker 4: the playoff.
- 32:24Speaker 2: That's right.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Eliminated. Say two more.
- 32:28Speaker 1: We've got to see the scene from Knoxville. We'll tell
- 32:32Speaker 1: you about our trip and behind the scenes straight ahead.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Honey with Roe? We're presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Chad, the official Nashville Balls Gears through XXXY Athletics, founded
- 32:43Speaker 1: by Jennifer Say, former national champion gymnast, former Levi's brand president.
- 32:47Speaker 1: She walked away from a corporate job rather than to
- 32:49Speaker 1: say something she didn't believe. She started XXXY Athletics instead.
- 32:53Speaker 1: The mission, in their words, empower female athletes, take a
- 32:55Speaker 1: stand for fair competition. They call it the T that
- 32:58Speaker 1: launched a movement, and it's Nashville Balls Athletic Apparel.
- 33:02Speaker 2: The WNBA Board of Governors have been pretty quiet. I
- 33:04Speaker 2: don't know when they're voting in new franchises in the league,
- 33:07Speaker 2: but we haven't heard much on the Nashville Balls lately.
- 33:09Speaker 2: But you can hear a lot about it by getting
- 33:11Speaker 2: a tee or trucker hat right now. The exclusive home
- 33:13Speaker 2: is with XXXY of the Nashville Balls. Also, new customers
- 33:17Speaker 2: get 20% off your first order when you sign up.
- 33:19Speaker 2: And free shipping over $ 100, XXXYAthletics.com. That's XX-XYAthletics.com.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Thank you to Tennessee Shine Company for a great host
- 33:31Speaker 1: for us in Gatlinburg. And then thank you Wagon Wheel
- 33:35Speaker 1: that crushed it yet again.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Fantastic.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Everything that Chad had said about what the first trip
- 33:41Speaker 1: was with Kelly and Ariel, it lived up to every expectation.
- 33:44Speaker 1: And so did tailgating, Chad. Let me point this out.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I was impressed with Oxford.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Loved it.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Never been to the Grove. I've been to Circle Park
- 33:54Speaker 1: quite often. This was outstanding. I mean, the scene was
- 33:58Speaker 1: just as good. I put it right up there with
- 34:01Speaker 1: what we saw at Oxford. That is exactly the vibe
- 34:05Speaker 1: that we want with Portland State.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Absolutely. Yeah, Circle Park, a great spot. See us down
- 34:10Speaker 2: the field pregame. So much fun walking around, taking in
- 34:14Speaker 2: the sights and sounds of everything, getting ready for that
- 34:16Speaker 2: huge game. Circle Park tailgate was awesome. Wagon Wheel tailgate
- 34:20Speaker 2: was awesome. At this point in my life, I'm not
- 34:22Speaker 2: trying to make a lot of new friends. I've got
- 34:25Speaker 2: friends and family, friends I can rely on. Mark Jernigan
- 34:29Speaker 2: is one of those new friends in the last four
- 34:31Speaker 2: or five years. I told him this after the game,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I love this guy. There's not a lot of new
- 34:37Speaker 2: friends being made. He's one of the new friends of
- 34:39Speaker 2: sport and state and of us, the owner of Wagon Wheel,
- 34:42Speaker 2: who's been terrific to us. We love doing our Dixieland
- 34:45Speaker 2: Delight Friday night show from his spot. I got to
- 34:47Speaker 2: tailgate with him. He had a Michelin star chef doing
- 34:51Speaker 2: the tailgate with us on Saturday, which is pretty cool.
- 34:55Speaker 2: You get to see Tennessee huddling up here pregame. I mean,
- 34:58Speaker 2: just an awesome scene. And, Hunt, I said it before.
- 35:01Speaker 2: General Nealon took over Tennessee 100 years ago. Tennessee's won
- 35:05Speaker 2: 39 of these Tennessee-Alabama games in those last 100 years.
- 35:10Speaker 2: They're 41-61-7 overall. These days are special. Enjoy it, Tennessee fans.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Enjoy it, college football fans. when you see a site
- 35:19Speaker 2: like that in a college football game. But especially for
- 35:22Speaker 2: Tennessee fans, and of course I'm one of them, this
- 35:25Speaker 2: weekend was very special to me, and I'm going to
- 35:27Speaker 2: enjoy it. I'm not going to spend a lot of
- 35:29Speaker 2: time worrying about how now Tennessee's a two-and-a-half-point underdog instead
- 35:33Speaker 2: of a two-and-a-half-point favorite in South Carolina. I'm going to
- 35:35Speaker 2: appreciate the moment, appreciate good friends, and a lot of
- 35:39Speaker 2: people in Knoxville this past weekend.
- 35:41Speaker 1: And I appreciate the moments, even the ones that don't count.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Check this out. This is the fumble recovery for the
- 35:47Speaker 1: touchdown that did not count in the game, but the
- 35:50Speaker 1: atmosphere and Chad's reaction, outstanding. And it's loud as well
- 35:59Speaker 1: to set the scene on that. But, man, they were
- 36:01Speaker 1: getting after it, getting after it the entire game.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Listen to that pop of that crowd in that moment.
- 36:11Speaker 2: And you're going to see me pop off. Right after this.
- 36:16Speaker 2: Thinking it's a touchdown.
- 36:18Speaker 4: Yeah, we all do. I love it.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Of course, what I didn't know was that Tyree Weathers'
- 36:23Speaker 2: knee was down when he picked up the fumble. And
- 36:25Speaker 2: Tennessee would eventually kick a field goal after this and
- 36:28Speaker 2: go up 6-0 instead of 10-0. I was very excited.
- 36:34Speaker 4: I love how Lutz is in the background, too. Always there.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Lutz was there. Lutz was in hell all weekend, basically,
- 36:42Speaker 2: because he's a Kentucky guy. He despises Tennessee, especially also Alabama.
- 36:48Speaker 2: So he was in a real meat grinder the whole weekend. But,
- 36:52Speaker 2: you know, I don't care. I was in heaven, and
- 36:55Speaker 2: I loved it. And you saw there was a celebration
- 36:57Speaker 2: that ended up not counting. I was having a heck
- 36:59Speaker 2: of a time. Also, shout out to our usher lady
- 37:02Speaker 2: next to us who had to shout down and get
- 37:05Speaker 2: into it with some drunk old man before. And then
- 37:08Speaker 2: another old man stood up for the usher next to
- 37:12Speaker 2: us and told the guy to do what she was saying.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Then she had to go get a cop at one
- 37:16Speaker 2: point for some other issue that was happening. But, you know,
- 37:19Speaker 2: it was very nice to us as we kind of
- 37:20Speaker 2: stood standing room only there and watched the half. We
- 37:23Speaker 2: were on our best behavior. We stood there quietly.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Speaking of help, Tombstone to Help for The Undertaker and Kane.
- 37:30Speaker 4: Yeah, we were.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Playing dead, you know, not actually dead, but because of that,
- 37:35Speaker 1: we didn't get kicked out. Jacob and I are driving
- 37:37Speaker 1: back past this. You may have passed this too, Chad,
- 37:39Speaker 1: but the volunteer undertakers.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that's quite the decision to carry the casket around.
- 37:45Speaker 1: About to see the undertaker and Kane come back from
- 37:48Speaker 1: the grave here, a buried alive match.
- 37:52Speaker 2: So this vehicle was at Bucky's, pulled up right next
- 37:56Speaker 2: to me when I stopped to get gas, which is
- 37:58Speaker 2: crazy that you're showing this. I didn't know that you
- 38:00Speaker 2: had that They stopped at Buc-ee's. I think at one point,
- 38:04Speaker 2: also shout out to Alan Bean and his family who
- 38:06Speaker 2: we hung out with at the tailgates. Alan Bean and
- 38:08Speaker 2: his family stopped at Buc-ee's for breakfast. You guys drove separately,
- 38:12Speaker 2: stopped at Buc-ee's. I was at Buc-ee's all at the
- 38:15Speaker 2: same time. None of us saw each other. Place was packed,
- 38:18Speaker 2: got in, got my brisket and egg taco, got my Powerade,
- 38:21Speaker 2: got my coffee, got back in the truck, didn't try
- 38:24Speaker 2: to see anyone, got back on the road. It was
- 38:27Speaker 2: a great ride back. Very quick. I felt like it
- 38:30Speaker 2: was one of the fastest drives from Knoxville ever yesterday
- 38:32Speaker 2: morning driving back. And a nice stop at Buc-ee's with
- 38:35Speaker 2: a lot of orange in that place, but didn't see
- 38:37Speaker 2: any of you guys. And I think we're all there
- 38:39Speaker 2: at the exact same time.
- 38:40Speaker 1: We were over there shopping for jewelry and coffee table books.
- 38:43Speaker 1: That's why you didn't see us over at Buc-ee's.
- 38:44Speaker 2: You were in the apparel section?
- 38:46Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Hutton got a big Bucky the Beaver hat that he
- 38:50Speaker 2: wore the rest of the way home.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Yes.
- 38:53Speaker 4: It was a fun trip. Coming up, credit is due.
- 38:58Speaker 4: We made what? Oh, the locks.
- 39:01Speaker 2: The locks.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Pay the piper, baby. Pay the piper.
- 39:04Speaker 1: We made some cash. Hard Rock took care of everything.
- 39:07Speaker 1: It was simple, fast, easy, and we cashed in straight ahead.
- 39:11Speaker 2: This year, the party's getting even bigger. Hey, there's Jay Boyd.
- 39:14Speaker 2: They know me.
- 39:15Speaker 4: This party, everybody's somebody.
- 39:17Speaker 2: And Hard Rock Bet has something for everyone. Plus, new

- 39:44Speaker 4: Here we go.
- 39:45Speaker 1: We were watching this throughout the weekend, or really the week,
- 39:49Speaker 1: because the weekday of Friday. Chad, the Friday night continues
- 39:53Speaker 1: to hit for you. Congratulations to Tulane. We've got six
- 39:57Speaker 1: and a half. We were watching that on Friday. Man,
- 40:03Speaker 1: not even just the cover, you were going to take
- 40:05Speaker 1: them outright. We won Florida as well. You crushed that.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And Ohio State, Indiana, they're well under 51.5 on our
- 40:14Speaker 1: Hard Rock Lock of the week. If you followed us,
- 40:17Speaker 1: you know. And you can roll with us this week
- 40:20Speaker 1: whenever we hand out our locks on Thursday.
- 40:22Speaker 2: I need to go bigger. I mean, you know, I
- 40:24Speaker 2: would not have guessed Florida to win outright. So I
- 40:27Speaker 2: would not have taken that. But I did think Tulane
- 40:29Speaker 2: could win outright. Tulane whipped them. They whipped Memphis in
- 40:32Speaker 2: that game. Our guy, Charles Huff, very upset postgame with
- 40:36Speaker 2: his Memphis Tigers performance. But 15-1 now on Friday night's.
- 40:41Speaker 2: I'm getting better and better on college football Saturdays, but
- 40:45Speaker 2: I will say this again. If you are not tailing me,
- 40:47Speaker 2: I'm speaking to you, Kelly and Ariel, and Joe also.
- 40:51Speaker 2: If you're not tailing me on Fridays, you are doing
- 40:54Speaker 2: our viewers, everyone who follows sport and state, a disservice.
- 40:59Speaker 2: I will be handing out another lock this week, and
- 41:02Speaker 2: I guarantee you that lock will feature a Friday night
- 41:05Speaker 2: college football game. And I'm telling the public that. Bet
- 41:08Speaker 2: whatever I bet on Friday night. You're not going to
- 41:11Speaker 2: find another 15-1 better that's out there right now, and
- 41:14Speaker 2: I'm going to give you a winner later this week
- 41:16Speaker 2: when we get into our locks.
- 41:17Speaker 4: You can bet this game as if the game has
- 41:19Speaker 4: already been played.
- 41:20Speaker 2: You really can.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Chad is saying book it is what he's saying on
- 41:23Speaker 4: this game. Yes, book it. And I'll tell you this.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm also going to be following Kelly on whatever she
- 41:28Speaker 1: wants to do with the Tennessee matchup this week. because
- 41:31Speaker 1: we both backed Alabama, and she just faded us.
- 41:37Speaker 4: She cashed in because of that.
- 41:39Speaker 2: She won big. Yeah, she liked– this is what I
- 41:42Speaker 2: know now about Kelly, is that she likes to take
- 41:45Speaker 2: private text and then post them publicly, apparently, because she
- 41:48Speaker 2: made the post about my response. I said, I think
- 41:51Speaker 2: Alabama kills them. I would take Alabama to cover. And
- 41:54Speaker 2: her response was, good, taking the Vols right now, now
- 41:57Speaker 2: that both of you guys are taking Alabama. So– Thanks
- 42:00Speaker 2: a lot, Kelly. Congrats on your win, and we're both
- 42:02Speaker 2: very happy. I'm happy that my bet lost. I'm happy
- 42:05Speaker 2: that my team won.
- 42:06Speaker 1: How is Tennessee already the underdog in this game after
- 42:09Speaker 1: what they did?
- 42:11Speaker 2: Two-and-a-half-point favorite is what it opened as. They're now a
- 42:14Speaker 2: two-and-a-half-point underdog. South Carolina's got a week to rest. They
- 42:18Speaker 2: have two weeks to get ready for this game. Tennessee,
- 42:20Speaker 2: we're seeing it again. Tennessee's coming off the emotional drain
- 42:24Speaker 2: of winning, the celebration, everything else. Now they go on
- 42:27Speaker 2: the road to Columbia.
- 42:28Speaker 4: On the road.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Thankfully, it's not a straight-up night game. It's a 2.30
- 42:32Speaker 2: in the afternoon game. Tennessee has been really bad at
- 42:35Speaker 2: night in Columbia, South Carolina, for whatever reason. I think
- 42:40Speaker 2: Vegas knows. Vegas knows. I'm not making a prediction yet,
- 42:44Speaker 2: but Vegas always knows in these situations. I knew before
- 42:47Speaker 2: the season this was going to be one of the
- 42:48Speaker 2: trickier games on Tennessee's schedule. Given Lenora Sellers and some
- 42:52Speaker 2: of the top in town, Dylan Stewart, they're all back.
- 42:55Speaker 2: They're playing well. South Carolina just before the break whipped
- 42:59Speaker 2: Florida on the road. I mean, I see it. I
- 43:02Speaker 2: see why they're going to be a slight favor in
- 43:05Speaker 2: that game. I'm just surprised by the quick change from
- 43:07Speaker 2: 2.5-point favor to 2.5-point underdog so quickly.
- 43:11Speaker 1: We'll take a look at the full SEC power lineup
- 43:13Speaker 1: with Hard Rock coming up tomorrow as well. Right now,
- 43:16Speaker 1: $ 5 can get you up to $ 500 in no-sweat bets.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Go to hardrock.bet.com. That's hardrock.bet.com. Bet $ 5, new customers get
- 43:26Speaker 1: up to $ 500 in no-sweat bets. You can do that
- 43:30Speaker 1: with Monday Night Football as well. Chad, tomorrow, plenty to
- 43:34Speaker 1: discuss across.
- 43:35Speaker 4: The SEC as well.
- 43:36Speaker 1: We're going to dive in on some of these other games.
- 43:40Speaker 1: with Indiana, the way they went down, comments from other coaches,
- 43:44Speaker 1: the upsets. We didn't touch on all the upsets. We
- 43:48Speaker 1: have so much to get to. We'll get to it tomorrow.
- 43:49Speaker 1: That's tomorrow here on the show. Coming up, the next
- 43:52Speaker 1: round will join us like they did join us on Friday.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Then we'll Sport and State line up full day, live,
- 44:00Speaker 1: and every day at sportandstate.com.
- 44:03Speaker 4: He's Withrow. I'm Hutton. Hutton Withrow, presented by Hard Rock Med.
