• 0:07
  Speaker 2: What's up everybody?
• 0:08
Speaker 1: Welcome to Move the Sticks, DJ, Bucky Rhett with you
• 0:11
Speaker 1: on a Monday, as we're looking back at a man,
• 0:13
Speaker 1: what crazy weekend of NFL games. There's some weeks where
• 0:16
Speaker 1: you kind of go, Okay, what are the top three
• 0:18
Speaker 1: games we need to get to and there's other weeks
• 0:20
Speaker 1: where they kind of write the script itself here and
• 0:22
Speaker 1: that's what we have.
• 0:23
Speaker 2: Great to see you boys here. Buck, where are you
• 0:25
  Speaker 2: at there?
• 0:26
Speaker 1: Looks like you're posing for a picture at Owens Owens
• 0:29
Speaker 1: Mills or whatever they call that placed back in the day.
• 0:31
Speaker 2: What was the name of that?
• 0:32
Speaker 3: You go get your professional or not always Mills Mills,
• 0:37
Speaker 3: Olin Mills, thank you.
• 0:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean like I am still in Jacksonville.
• 0:42
Speaker 5: I'm on my way back, but this is the backdrop
• 0:45
Speaker 5: in the lobby of the hotel at the Business Center
• 0:47
Speaker 5: and they just so happen to have this, like I mean, yeah,
• 0:49
Speaker 5: like a nice little backdrop.
• 0:51
Speaker 4: Looks might need to add this at the ouse.
• 0:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel think that's where that picture from like
• 0:55
Speaker 1: the Jack step Brothers was was taken their Rhett, you
• 0:58
Speaker 1: know what I mean that looks like I need and
• 1:00
Speaker 1: Biselli to cozy up and take a pick there. Uh ratt, Hey,
• 1:05
Speaker 1: let's get out of the way. Congrats, who's your still rolling?
• 1:08
Speaker 1: Still undefeated? Uh, you're still.
• 1:10
Speaker 3: Wrong at the point where we're just getting it out
• 1:11
Speaker 3: of the way. Now, we're just getting it out of
• 1:13
Speaker 3: the way at the top of the show.
• 1:14
Speaker 6: Now a reality thing.
• 1:16
Speaker 3: Let's just stay sing ten, just keeps rolling here. Okay,
• 1:19
Speaker 3: So yeah, it's all good.
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: It's impressive, it's impressive. All right, Let's let's start things
• 1:24
Speaker 1: off here. First game. Look, there's only one place to start,
• 1:27
Speaker 1: and that was the number one pick, the number two pick,
• 1:30
Speaker 1: Jade and Caleb. A game that was maybe one of
• 1:33
Speaker 1: us entertaining finishes of a game we've seen, not just
• 1:35
Speaker 1: this year but in quite some time. Crazy ending. We'll
• 1:38
Speaker 1: get to the ending of this game won by the
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Commanders eighteen to fifteen.
• 1:42
Speaker 2: But before we do.
• 1:43
Speaker 1: That, uh Buck, lead us off and followim up here.
• 1:47
Speaker 1: Just take away on the two guys. I mean, that's
• 1:49
Speaker 1: what the price of admission was for those two quarterbacks.
• 1:51
Speaker 5: What you see from them, I mean, this is exactly
• 1:54
Speaker 5: what you want when you when you when you pick
• 1:56
Speaker 5: a quarterback that high you're hoping that they delivered the
• 1:59
Speaker 5: kind of performances both of these guys are able to deliver.
• 2:02
Speaker 5: I think it's easy to talk about Jayden Daniels and
• 2:05
Speaker 5: the legend that continues to grow in Washington, like the
• 2:08
Speaker 5: excitement over him won the decision that he wanted.
• 2:12
Speaker 4: To play, he wanted to take the ball despite the
• 2:14
Speaker 4: ribs and those things like he's like, no, I'm playing.
• 2:17
Speaker 4: I'm gonna make this happen. I'm gonna do it.
• 2:19
Speaker 5: He does it without like what left tackles out, He
• 2:21
Speaker 5: has some other people out.
• 2:22
Speaker 4: He just continues to make plays.
• 2:24
Speaker 5: And then look, man, this dude has ribs, but he's
• 2:27
Speaker 5: running the ball. It's just such a stark contrast to
• 2:30
Speaker 5: some of the other quarterbacks that we see, I e.
• 2:32
  Speaker 4: Anthony Richardson.
• 2:33
Speaker 5: I think it's just it's just crazy that this guy
• 2:37
Speaker 5: is as good as he is. I look, I underestimated
• 2:40
Speaker 5: how good he would be in the pros.
• 2:42
Speaker 4: He's everything and beyond.
• 2:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that is that is certainly one of
• 2:47
Speaker 3: the big takeaways here from not only this game, but
• 2:49
Speaker 3: this season, as you said, eight games in now for
• 2:51
Speaker 3: the Commanders leading the NFC East.
• 2:54
Speaker 6: Okay, I think on.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: The other side for Caleb Williams. You know, this was
• 3:00
Speaker 3: went down and led what many thought was going to
• 3:02
Speaker 3: be a game winning drive at the end of the game.
• 3:04
Speaker 3: So I don't leave this game feeling any different about Caleb.
• 3:07
Speaker 3: I leave this game thinking, man, number one and number
• 3:10
Speaker 3: two pick overall so far feel like home runs for
• 3:13
Speaker 3: both these teams, and that's kind of where I'm at
• 3:16
Speaker 3: on that one. I would also just say quickly on
• 3:19
Speaker 3: the Commander's second pick in this draft, played his best
• 3:23
Speaker 3: game as a pro. Johnny Newton was all over the
• 3:26
Speaker 3: place on the interior defensive line for the Washington Commanders.
• 3:30
Speaker 3: I thought, by far had his best game of the season.
• 3:32
Speaker 3: Eight pressures, got his first sack. The quickness and get
• 3:36
Speaker 3: off reminded me of the due that we saw at
• 3:37
Speaker 3: Illinois that was so difficult to deal with on the interior.
• 3:40
Speaker 6: He looks a little smaller in there, but man, I'm telling.
• 3:43
Speaker 3: You, sometimes I he'll delay a little bit and then
• 3:46
Speaker 3: it's like he hits the turbo button and like he
• 3:48
Speaker 3: is pushing the center back on top of the quarterback
• 3:52
  Speaker 3: so quickly.
• 3:54
Speaker 6: Man, he's got that.
• 3:55
Speaker 3: He's got that quickness when he wants to get off
• 3:57
Speaker 3: liket he wins. He wins right now, and so there
• 4:00
Speaker 3: was a couple of times where you put the center
• 4:02
Speaker 3: on roller skates right back into Kayleb Williams. So I'm
• 4:05
Speaker 3: impressed with with really all that we saw from from
• 4:08
Speaker 3: some of the young players in this game.
• 4:10
  Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: It was fun to go through the tape this morning,
• 4:13
Speaker 1: starting with Jaden. First of all, there was four drops
• 4:16
Speaker 1: in this game. So look at how good the stats
• 4:17
Speaker 1: look at the end of the game. We'll get to
• 4:19
Speaker 1: the hill marry in just a little bit. But all
• 4:21
Speaker 1: the poise that we've seen all year long was there.
• 4:24
Speaker 1: The opportunistic play making with his legs when he needed
• 4:27
Speaker 1: to get out of trouble, that was there. And I'm
• 4:30
Speaker 1: just I'm watching this game and I'm sitting here thinking,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: we all know Adam Peters, and you look at the
• 4:36
Speaker 1: skill position players that they accumulated in San Francisco during
• 4:39
Speaker 1: his time there with John Lynch, and I'm like, this
• 4:41
Speaker 1: is the ground floor like that. If you're excited right
• 4:44
Speaker 1: now as a Washington fan, be even more excited. This
• 4:47
Speaker 1: is going to be the worst group that he plays
• 4:49
Speaker 1: with probably for you know, least in there's five seven
• 4:52
Speaker 1: years Adam Peter's going to add pieces here. They're going
• 4:54
Speaker 1: to get more dynamic players. Terry mclaurin's awesome, but he's
• 4:56
Speaker 1: gonna have some help here coming shortly as the continue
• 5:00
Speaker 1: to build out this roster. So absolutely as good as
• 5:03
Speaker 1: advertised for Jad and Daniels.
• 5:04
  Speaker 2: Caleb.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: I had heard from a lot of people, you know,
• 5:07
Speaker 1: just that had watched the game. I hadn't seen it,
• 5:10
Speaker 1: so I had to watch it on tape this morning.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: The thought was, okay, Caleb was too amped up, and
• 5:15
Speaker 1: then he settled down, and then he played well, obviously
• 5:17
Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter on those two big drives. Late
• 5:20
Speaker 1: and watching the tape, I thought, more so than like nerves,
• 5:24
Speaker 1: I thought he was tentative early in the game, like
• 5:27
Speaker 1: he did not want to make a mistake. He did
• 5:30
Speaker 1: not want to cost his team, he did not want
• 5:32
Speaker 1: to turn the ball over. There's an example early. I
• 5:34
Speaker 1: think it's the first pass of the game. They have
• 5:36
Speaker 1: one of those little swing screens set up. They're unable
• 5:39
Speaker 1: to cut the defensive end. It's still a throw because
• 5:42
Speaker 1: they're blocked out in the perimeter. He's got to get
• 5:44
Speaker 1: it up and over the defensive end and drop it
• 5:47
Speaker 1: down and then you probably have a pretty nice little play.
• 5:49
Speaker 1: I think was second and ten at that point in time.
• 5:52
Speaker 1: But he's sitting there thinking, I'm not going to throw
• 5:54
Speaker 1: a pick to this defensive end this early in game.
• 5:57
Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it. Holds the ball takes
• 5:59
  Speaker 2: a sack.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: There's later on in the game everybody shows the throw
• 6:02
Speaker 1: with Keenan Allen where the ball kind of sails on him.
• 6:05
  Speaker 1: He didn't on a couple of these screens. I don't
• 6:06
Speaker 1: think he really trusts the receivers that are in position
• 6:10
Speaker 1: to block, Like, hey, if you know, if I throw
• 6:12
Speaker 1: this ball and they don't secure this block, this could
• 6:15
Speaker 1: something bad could happen. So I thought I saw a
• 6:18
Speaker 1: lot of that with him, some tentativeness and not wanting
• 6:20
Speaker 1: to make a mistake. I saw him turning down some
• 6:22
Speaker 1: opportunities down the field and taking off and trying to run.
• 6:25
Speaker 1: And then I thought, as it got late where it
• 6:27
Speaker 1: was got to have it time. I thought he threw
• 6:29
Speaker 1: caution to the wind. He has the huge throw from
• 6:31
Speaker 1: in the pocket where he gets drilled. I thought that
• 6:35
Speaker 1: was you know that that's who he needs to be.
• 6:36
Speaker 1: So if I'm in that coaching staff, I'm saying, hey, man,
• 6:39
Speaker 1: we're gonna you're gonna turn the ball over, You're gonna
• 6:41
Speaker 1: make some mistakes, but we drafted you to be you,
• 6:44
Speaker 1: and that's the aggressive version of you and bucket, you know.
• 6:47
  Speaker 1: I I think that's it's a good thing that he's
• 6:50
Speaker 1: conscious of it, that he's aware of it. Hey, protect
• 6:52
Speaker 1: the football. We have a great defense. Don't don't screw
• 6:54
Speaker 1: it up. But I still think you got to let
• 6:56
Speaker 1: Caleb kind of be Caleb, and I think that was
• 6:58
Speaker 1: the difference between early in the game and what we
• 6:59
Speaker 1: saw on the fourth quarter.
• 7:01
Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he should be encouraged to kind of
• 7:03
Speaker 5: toe the line, see where his boundaries are, like try
• 7:07
Speaker 5: to eliminate I would say, like the bonehead mistakes, but
• 7:10
Speaker 5: like push the envelope a little bit, because what you
• 7:12
Speaker 5: don't want to do is take someone who is as
• 7:15
Speaker 5: talented as he is, who really made his living at
• 7:17
Speaker 5: the collegiate level with improvisational plays, and say, hey, we
• 7:21
Speaker 5: want to put you in a box and make you
• 7:22
Speaker 5: a robot. That's not why they drafted him. And so
• 7:25
Speaker 5: because he is so talented, he is so gifted, he
• 7:28
Speaker 5: just has to understand when and where. I think for me,
• 7:31
Speaker 5: it's all about situational awareness, understanding when you can push
• 7:35
Speaker 5: the envelope understanding when.
• 7:36
Speaker 4: You need a dollar back.
• 7:37
Speaker 5: If he masters that part of it, which is called
• 7:39
Speaker 5: game management, look, he would be everything that we thought
• 7:42
  Speaker 5: he could be.
• 7:42
Speaker 1: In more, we got to get to the end of
• 7:45
Speaker 1: the game here, rhet I'll tee you up first, your thoughts,
• 7:48
  Speaker 1: the hail Mary.
• 7:50
  Speaker 2: We provide credit.
• 7:51
Speaker 1: We'll blanket the credit early for Jaden Daniels buying all
• 7:54
Speaker 1: kinds of time and just launching an absolute gem of
• 7:59
Speaker 1: a ball there and Noel Brown being in the right spot.
• 8:01
Speaker 1: We've covered the I think that's pretty easy for everybody
• 8:04
Speaker 1: to understand and see and explain. Let's focus on the
• 8:07
Speaker 1: other side of the ball. What's your takeaway at the
• 8:09
Speaker 1: Chicago into this thing, because there.
• 8:12
Speaker 3: Were three phases of it, and that was the first phase,
• 8:14
Speaker 3: right with Jane Daniels beying the time. The second phase
• 8:16
Speaker 3: was what in the world was going on with Tyreek
• 8:18
Speaker 3: Stevenson twenty nine And we know he was going back
• 8:20
Speaker 3: and forth with Terry McLaurin and all that john all
• 8:23
Speaker 3: game long, and it continued and it was obviously a
• 8:26
Speaker 3: problem there at the end. So I talked to actually
• 8:29
Speaker 3: spent the morning on NFL Radio on Serius sexm and
• 8:32
Speaker 3: was talking with Logan Ryan Right, two times Super Bowl
• 8:34
Speaker 3: champion defensive back the Patriots, Bucks Titans, all that, and
• 8:38
Speaker 3: he went through and laid out the entire plan as
• 8:40
Speaker 3: Bill Belichick would have taught it, right, and it was
• 8:42
Speaker 3: called rebound, That's what he said.
• 8:44
Speaker 6: The play was called right where you had one guy
• 8:47
Speaker 6: that was designated as the jumper for the defense. Right,
• 8:50
Speaker 6: you rush for, you drop seven.
• 8:51
Speaker 3: You've got one guy designated as the jumper, the other
• 8:54
Speaker 3: four guys are trying to box out the other receivers,
• 8:57
Speaker 3: and then you have a guy defending a deflection in
• 9:00
Speaker 3: front of the mess and behind the mess.
• 9:03
Speaker 6: The Bears had none of that all.
• 9:05
Speaker 3: They had two guys that were kind of shadowing a
• 9:08
Speaker 3: commander's receiver that was in front of the goal line,
• 9:11
Speaker 3: in front of the mass that was jumping up to
• 9:13
Speaker 3: get the ball, and then obviously nobody on Noah Brown behind.
• 9:17
Speaker 3: But they had five guys going up for the same
• 9:20
  Speaker 3: jump ball.
• 9:22
Speaker 6: This will play Bucky.
• 9:23
Speaker 3: That is practiced at least once a week in practice, right,
• 9:28
Speaker 3: it's every team every week, and they go through all
• 9:32
  Speaker 3: of the procedures.
• 9:33
Speaker 6: Here. This was just an epic fail. An epic fail.
• 9:36
  Speaker 3: And I have I mean I have zero I mean
• 9:39
Speaker 3: I have zero doubt that this was not the way
• 9:42
Speaker 3: that Matt Eberfors coaches is play right. So from your perspective,
• 9:46
Speaker 3: I mean, for my percent, that's what I saw. What
• 9:49
Speaker 3: did What did you see on that?
• 9:51
  Speaker 4: Well?
• 9:51
Speaker 5: One, I saw Tederick Stevens and not being focused because
• 9:53
Speaker 5: he's still jing with the crowd while the play is underway.
• 9:57
Speaker 5: And then what you talk about, I think Logan Ryan
• 9:59
Speaker 5: gives a good point. It is a hard play to
• 10:02
Speaker 5: defend only in terms of like the positioning and trying
• 10:06
Speaker 5: to judge the ball. So I do think it's great
• 10:08
Speaker 5: that Bill Belichick said only one guy, only one guy
• 10:11
Speaker 5: gets to jump. Everybody else find a man box him out,
• 10:15
Speaker 5: just like basketball, and you have to practice it. The
• 10:17
Speaker 5: thing is, you can't practice it in full speed, but
• 10:19
Speaker 5: you certainly can get into position and talk about it.
• 10:23
Speaker 5: It's one of the things that's always scary about the
• 10:26
Speaker 5: Hill Mary situation is people just leaving their responsibilities and
• 10:31
Speaker 5: ball watching and like it's mesmerizing and Tyreek goes from
• 10:35
Speaker 5: off the side to in the middle of it. He
• 10:38
Speaker 5: tips it and remember we always talk about it, down
• 10:42
  Speaker 5: it right down.
• 10:43
  Speaker 4: He tips it.
• 10:44
Speaker 5: Right up and lands in the hands of Noah Brown
• 10:48
Speaker 5: like just an unbelievable play.
• 10:50
Speaker 3: But DJ, here's the other coach got on that too, right,
• 10:53
Speaker 3: because once that ball is tipped, if there's a guy
• 10:56
Speaker 3: on Noah Brown, you could just tackle him to the
• 10:58
Speaker 3: ground because there is no more pass interfere after the
• 11:00
Speaker 3: ball is tipped. So's there's a bunch of stuff there.
• 11:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, I have an interesting take on what happened to
• 11:08
Speaker 1: play before, and I'll get to that, But I want
• 11:10
Speaker 1: to first of all, blame this loss on video games.
• 11:12
Speaker 1: I'm one hundred percent blaming this loss on video games
• 11:15
Speaker 1: because Ret's a little younger than us, Buck, But I
• 11:19
Speaker 1: guarantee you Bucky had the same childhood I did. That
• 11:22
Speaker 1: We didn't sit inside and play video games. We went
• 11:24
Speaker 1: outside in the street with all of our friends in
• 11:26
Speaker 1: the neighborhood and we played three Flies Up. These kids
• 11:29
Speaker 1: are sitting here playing video games. They didn't grow up
• 11:32
Speaker 1: playing three flies up like we did. And we did
• 11:35
Speaker 1: it for hours and hours.
• 11:36
Speaker 4: And hours and hours.
• 11:38
Speaker 1: I guarantee if you ask everybody on defense, if you said,
• 11:40
Speaker 1: what's three flies up, they won't even know what it is.
• 11:42
  Speaker 2: It's a generational thing.
• 11:44
Speaker 4: They don't know. They don't know.
• 11:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I also play consoles.
• 11:49
Speaker 5: Also blame the guys they didn't play multiple sports who
• 11:52
Speaker 5: don't understand how to judge a fly ball, so they're
• 11:55
Speaker 5: drifting and fading away. They don't understand, like how to
• 11:58
Speaker 5: track it in the air. All those things are to
• 12:01
Speaker 5: be done. And Matt uber Flus was so mad. He
• 12:04
Speaker 5: was so instanced when they asked him, do you practice
• 12:06
Speaker 5: you practice to hill Mary? I know he's like, yes,
• 12:09
Speaker 5: but I can't execute it for him. I can only
• 12:12
Speaker 5: put him in a position. I can't tell them to
• 12:14
Speaker 5: catch it and knock it down and all this other stuff.
• 12:16
Speaker 5: But man, that is a tough way to go out.
• 12:20
Speaker 2: Last thing. I tease it real quick.
• 12:21
Speaker 1: I was talking to rich Eisen about this morning, which
• 12:24
Speaker 1: was and I posted it on social media because end
• 12:26
Speaker 1: of the half, they were in the same hill Mary
• 12:29
Speaker 1: situation at the end of half. So they're at the
• 12:31
Speaker 1: Chicago forty nine eight seconds left and Chicago plays a
• 12:35
Speaker 1: defense where they protect the sidelines and bucket.
• 12:37
Speaker 2: Even though you've seen this a million times, lane on
• 12:39
Speaker 2: the secator, yes, you take that a light.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: So they took that away because they knew fifteen yards
• 12:44
Speaker 1: gets them in field goal range.
• 12:46
Speaker 2: They could still throw the hill mary.
• 12:47
Speaker 1: But understanding they probably with the time with eight seconds,
• 12:50
Speaker 1: they're going to try and get closer to getting field
• 12:52
Speaker 1: goal range. They're at the ball at the thirty five,
• 12:55
Speaker 1: the Washington thirty five. There's six seconds left. That's still
• 12:57
Speaker 1: plenty of time to be able to get the ball
• 12:59
  Speaker 1: down the field.
• 13:00
  Speaker 2: Little bit.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: They don't play this. They got everybody down the field.
• 13:02
Speaker 1: There's nobody protecting the sidelines. It's the easiest fifteen yards
• 13:06
Speaker 1: to put them in position to make the hail mary throw.
• 13:08
Speaker 1: And I'm like, I just didn't understand with the situations
• 13:12
Speaker 1: being so similar, why would you have a different approach
• 13:15
Speaker 1: end of half than you had at the end of
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: the game.
• 13:17
Speaker 2: That didn't make any sense to me.
• 13:20
Speaker 4: It doesn't make any sense.
• 13:20
Speaker 5: And it's unfortunate that they had to learn our hard lesson,
• 13:23
Speaker 5: But it's one that I bet you from the rest
• 13:25
Speaker 5: of his career, Tyrick Stevenson will learn how to play
• 13:27
  Speaker 5: the haile Mary.
• 13:28
Speaker 4: You don't have to worry about him goofing off with
• 13:30
  Speaker 4: the crowd and.
• 13:31
Speaker 5: Not being focus and locked in, you would hope, because
• 13:34
Speaker 5: it costs his team a game.
• 13:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, luck, we could spend we could spend thirty
• 13:39
Speaker 1: more minutes on this game, but crazy crazy finished. Positive note,
• 13:44
Speaker 1: both these teams have their franchise quarterbacks and they're both
• 13:46
Speaker 1: going to be competitive, good football teams for the next decade.
• 13:49
Speaker 1: So that was fun to see. Baltimore Cleveland. Biggest surprise
• 13:52
Speaker 1: of the day reht and that result.
• 13:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, because the guy who was the emergency third quarterback
• 13:58
Speaker 3: last week ended up starting and have a gem of
• 14:00
Speaker 3: a game. We got good Jamis Winston on this day
• 14:04
Speaker 3: for the Cleveland Browns. So here's a couple of things.
• 14:10
Speaker 3: The Browns coming into this game had never had more
• 14:13
Speaker 3: than five explosive passing plays in a game this season.
• 14:17
Speaker 3: Fifteen plus passing yards is where we'll go on the
• 14:20
Speaker 3: categorization of that. And the five the game where they
• 14:23
Speaker 3: had five was the week before in which Shaun Watson
• 14:25
Speaker 3: didn't play the whole game and you had dtr and
• 14:27
  Speaker 3: Jamis come in.
• 14:27
Speaker 6: Before that, it was never more than four.
• 14:30
Speaker 3: They had ten explosive plays in the passing game here,
• 14:33
Speaker 3: doubling their previous season high. It also led the league
• 14:36
Speaker 3: this week, and it was you know, also keeping in
• 14:40
Speaker 3: mind they shipped to Marty Cooper out, this was you know,
• 14:43
Speaker 3: this was Elijah Moore, this was David Nijoku, and so
• 14:46
Speaker 3: I thought that that was really big that Jamis was
• 14:50
Speaker 3: opening up the capabilities of this offense.
• 14:53
Speaker 6: Also, average depth of target three yards deeper.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: That's a big difference than it had been for much
• 14:59
Speaker 3: of this season. And Jamis time to throw quicker than
• 15:04
Speaker 3: any quarterback for any for any Browns game this season.
• 15:07
Speaker 6: Two point four to four seconds.
• 15:08
Speaker 3: Ball was coming out of his hands, so he's seeing it,
• 15:11
Speaker 3: he's pushing the ball down the field, and he's executing
• 15:13
Speaker 3: it right there. I thought that was huge for this
• 15:16
Speaker 3: Browns offense. And man, he was able to keep the
• 15:20
Speaker 3: ball out of the hands of the Ravens, which you know,
• 15:22
Speaker 3: you were always kind of waiting for that other shoot
• 15:24
  Speaker 3: to drop.
• 15:24
Speaker 6: But I thought that was.
• 15:25
Speaker 3: A big time performance from Jameis Winston in this one. Obviously,
• 15:28
Speaker 3: none bigger on the explosive side than the thirty eight
• 15:30
Speaker 3: yarder for the game winner.
• 15:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, let me put this in some perspective here.
• 15:34
Speaker 1: Only two other quarterbacks went for three hundred and three
• 15:36
Speaker 1: passing touchdowns in a win in his first start of
• 15:39
Speaker 1: a season on a team that was five games below
• 15:41
Speaker 1: five hundred. That's John staffa not familiar of the sixty
• 15:45
Speaker 1: six Dolphins and Lend Dickey know the name seventy three Oilers. Yeah,
• 15:49
Speaker 1: so that's that's rare company there for what he accomplished.
• 15:53
Speaker 1: But I'll get it to you this way, Buck, if
• 15:55
Speaker 1: you did a lineup right, if we were to just say, okay,
• 15:58
Speaker 1: we're going to try and pick out the quarterback here,
• 16:00
Speaker 1: which one is not like the other in terms of
• 16:02
Speaker 1: how they play. If you just put on the tape
• 16:04
Speaker 1: and you watched historically over their career, the way that
• 16:07
Speaker 1: Jamis Winston plays football, the way Joe Flacco plays football,
• 16:10
Speaker 1: the way Deshaun Watson plays football, there's a reason why
• 16:13
Speaker 1: these other two guys have had success in this system.
• 16:16
Speaker 1: This is and I'm not here to back Deshaun Watson,
• 16:18
Speaker 1: but everybody's talked about Deshaun Watson's ability. This is not
• 16:21
Speaker 1: a fit. It was not a fit from the beginning.
• 16:24
Speaker 1: It did not work. This is not the right quarterback
• 16:27
Speaker 1: style of play for this offense. Then they tried to
• 16:29
Speaker 1: change the offense to fit him. Well, that didn't work.
• 16:31
Speaker 1: At the end of the day, this offense runs best
• 16:34
Speaker 1: with a statue esque pure pocket passer. Get the ball
• 16:38
Speaker 1: out of your hand, that's what Joe Flacco is and
• 16:41
Speaker 1: as we can see, that's what Jameis Winston is is
• 16:44
Speaker 1: even more than that.
• 16:45
Speaker 5: Let's break it down to it is teams that are
• 16:48
Speaker 5: good running teams. The passing game should be a vertical
• 16:51
Speaker 5: based passing game. And what you have in Joe Flacco
• 16:54
Speaker 5: and Jamis Winston guys that want to push the ball
• 16:57
Speaker 5: down the field. Because if you're throwing off action, deeper
• 17:01
Speaker 5: developing routes, you're looking for the home run shot against
• 17:04
Speaker 5: one on one coverage. Jameis Winston, Joe Flacco, they take that.
• 17:08
Speaker 5: With Deshaun Watson, that's not his game. Dejean Watson is
• 17:11
Speaker 5: more of a West Coast offensive system, something that is
• 17:14
Speaker 5: not dink and dump, but something that's more ball control.
• 17:17
Speaker 5: Jameis Winston is going to push the ball down the field, now,
• 17:20
Speaker 5: no risky, no biscuit. There're gonna be more turnovers that happen,
• 17:24
Speaker 5: But as you said, the reward more explosive plays, ten
• 17:28
Speaker 5: explosive plays in the passing game. With Nick Chubb coming back,
• 17:31
Speaker 5: the running game like it is a better fit for
• 17:34
Speaker 5: how the Browns want to play. When you have a
• 17:36
Speaker 5: guy that wants to push it down the field.
• 17:38
Speaker 6: James's favorite checkdown is a deep post.
• 17:41
Speaker 4: Oh, there's no checkout. We're not taking checkdowns. Yeah, you're right.
• 17:48
Speaker 2: Hey, you're gonna push it out the field. By the way, Ratt,
• 17:51
Speaker 2: hitch you on this first and we'll go around. But yeah,
• 17:54
Speaker 2: are we panicking yet?
• 17:55
Speaker 1: Like, I haven't seen the Ravens play bad defense like
• 17:58
Speaker 1: this in a long time. Man, they stay on defense
• 18:00
  Speaker 1: right now.
• 18:01
Speaker 6: Yeah, it was definitely popped up.
• 18:03
Speaker 3: And yeah, and I mean obviously, you know, missing their
• 18:05
Speaker 3: their top two corners I think is a big deal
• 18:07
Speaker 3: here too, on a game like this. But I mean,
• 18:10
Speaker 3: like we had You might remember last time we heard
• 18:12
Speaker 3: from Elijah Moore in a Cleveland Browns uniform. I mean
• 18:14
Speaker 3: he shows up today, Nidjoku comes up, you know, and
• 18:18
Speaker 3: shows up with that pro Bowl type talent that we
• 18:20
Speaker 3: saw from him, and I mean, yeah, it is alarming.
• 18:24
Speaker 6: I think Kyle Hamilton again was all over the place.
• 18:26
Speaker 3: And look, he probably dropped an interception right that might
• 18:30
Speaker 3: have ended the game before the Tillman touchdown.
• 18:32
Speaker 6: So I mean, they it could have been a little
• 18:34
  Speaker 6: bit different.
• 18:35
Speaker 3: But I would say for this team to realize it's
• 18:37
Speaker 3: full potential, there's got to be some some changes to
• 18:40
Speaker 3: what they're doing over there on the defensive side.
• 18:43
Speaker 5: Well, they actually knew that they needed to add something
• 18:45
Speaker 5: to it. They bring Dan Peace in to Dan Pece
• 18:48
Speaker 5: comes over to be like a mentor because Zachary Or
• 18:51
Speaker 5: is a first time defensive play caller and he's doing
• 18:54
Speaker 5: it for a team that is known for their defense,
• 18:56
Speaker 5: which is a lot of pressure. And if they don't
• 18:59
Speaker 5: fix the defense, like they're limited. The offense can take
• 19:01
Speaker 5: them so far, but they can't deal with the heavyweights
• 19:04
Speaker 5: in the AFC if they don't play great defense. We're
• 19:06
Speaker 5: seeing that and the fact that they lose the game
• 19:09
Speaker 5: against the Cleveland Browns, that's.
• 19:10
Speaker 4: Just sound the a large.
• 19:11
Speaker 5: We saw Marcus Williams get benched in the game. They
• 19:14
Speaker 5: talked about the coverage issues in those things. Yeah, I'm
• 19:18
Speaker 5: worried about Baltimore because we've always been able to count
• 19:21
Speaker 5: the defense showing up, but now the defense isn't showing up.
• 19:23
  Speaker 4: So that's that's problematic.
• 19:27
Speaker 1: By the way, jamis on that near pick, ifs and
• 19:31
Speaker 1: should and would have could as don't mean anything so.
• 19:35
Speaker 5: Small man, as we say, long foul ball, long foul.
• 19:39
Speaker 1: Ball, next pitch is all the matters, all right, We'll
• 19:44
Speaker 1: see what happens with the Ravens. I wouldn't surprised too
• 19:47
Speaker 1: the trade deadline approaching, they'll do something like the They.
• 19:51
Speaker 2: Will be aggressive. I would be shocked if they aren't.
• 19:53
Speaker 1: They have a history of going out trying to fix
• 19:55
Speaker 1: some words here, so we'll see what they do, all right.
• 19:58
Speaker 1: We don't even spend as long a time on this one.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: Buck San Francisco Dallas weird game like it just looked
• 20:05
Speaker 1: like it was over and with San Francisco firmly in control,
• 20:09
Speaker 1: and then Seedee Lamb got going a little bit. Dallas
• 20:11
Speaker 1: came back and made it a ballgame, but still not enough.
• 20:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, still not enough.
• 20:16
Speaker 5: It's weird, man, because I feel like the Cowboys are
• 20:18
Speaker 5: overmatched every time they step onto the field against the top.
• 20:20
Speaker 4: Team, and this kind of played out like that.
• 20:23
Speaker 5: I thought it was interesting listening to the call where
• 20:26
Speaker 5: they talked about the nine and just felt like they
• 20:27
Speaker 5: could wear the Cowboys down and they would beat them
• 20:29
Speaker 5: down and eventually they would crack.
• 20:31
Speaker 4: And that's kind of what took place.
• 20:32
Speaker 5: And that has been the thing that has hurt them
• 20:35
Speaker 5: against some of the top teams in the NFC. They
• 20:37
Speaker 5: just don't have the staying power to go for sixty
• 20:40
Speaker 5: four minutes for the Cowboys. I think Mike McCarthy would
• 20:43
Speaker 5: try and build off of this performance because they did
• 20:45
Speaker 5: fight back. They got back in and had a chance,
• 20:48
Speaker 5: you know, to make it happen in the tilted in
• 20:51
  Speaker 5: their favor.
• 20:51
Speaker 4: We couldn't do it, but you have to admired to fight.
• 20:54
Speaker 5: I just don't know if there's enough on this roster
• 20:57
Speaker 5: to give them a chance to get into the postseason.
• 21:02
Speaker 6: Yeah, this is tough.
• 21:03
Speaker 3: I mean, this is a team that's really failing in
• 21:06
Speaker 3: two major categories that are conduced to team success running
• 21:11
Speaker 3: the football and stop in the run. And we've talked
• 21:13
Speaker 3: about it. I feel like for the last couple of
• 21:14
Speaker 3: weeks here with the Niners or with the cut with
• 21:16
Speaker 3: the Cowboys, rather the run defense is bad.
• 21:19
Speaker 6: It's just that that's all there is to it.
• 21:21
  Speaker 3: I mean we're talking about I know, it's the scheme
• 21:23
Speaker 3: here with with what since, with what San Francisco wants
• 21:25
Speaker 3: to do. But you know, Isaac Garrindo came in and
• 21:28
Speaker 3: again it just looks like another one of those backs
• 21:30
Speaker 3: that steps in and find success for San Francisco. The
• 21:33
Speaker 3: Cowboys have allowed sixty eight first downs this year on
• 21:37
Speaker 3: the ground that is at the very bottom of the league. Minnesota,
• 21:40
Speaker 3: for comparison, is tops in the league in that category,
• 21:42
Speaker 3: and they've allowed twenty three.
• 21:44
Speaker 6: That is a huge gap.
• 21:46
Speaker 3: Like you are getting gashed on the ground when you're
• 21:48
Speaker 3: giving up chain moving plays like that on the ground,
• 21:51
Speaker 3: and look the they're on the field too long and
• 21:57
Speaker 3: they're you know, they're just getting beat up front. I
• 21:59
Speaker 3: don't think they have an if they're in the interior,
• 22:01
Speaker 3: like Lynvald Joseph Mazzi Smith, I don't feel like the
• 22:04
Speaker 3: answer is there up front, and they can't run the
• 22:06
Speaker 3: ball on offense, so like it's just that that to me,
• 22:09
Speaker 3: no matter how I mean, Ceede Lamb might go for
• 22:10
  Speaker 3: two hundred yards.
• 22:11
Speaker 6: Next week and they still might lose.
• 22:13
Speaker 3: Like it's just it just feels like the formula that
• 22:16
Speaker 3: they have that they've been showing right here is just
• 22:19
Speaker 3: it's not available for them to find consistent wins.
• 22:23
Speaker 2: Well, I can finish it up on this thought.
• 22:25
Speaker 1: With Dallas Cowboys, there's only one thing they need to do,
• 22:27
Speaker 1: and they will fix the run game, and it's it's
• 22:29
Speaker 1: it's pretty simple. It probably costs a lot of money,
• 22:32
Speaker 1: but they need to go buy a DeLorean because if
• 22:34
Speaker 1: they can go back in time about seven years, the
• 22:37
Speaker 1: fact that they have Mozekil Elliott and Dalvin Cook, I mean,
• 22:40
Speaker 1: this run game would be would be pretty dynamic and good.
• 22:43
Speaker 3: Shoot twenty seven years ago, twenty eighteen, let's go.
• 22:47
  Speaker 2: Yeah, But I don't know.
• 22:48
Speaker 1: I haven't seen many Deloreans for sale lately, so that's
• 22:51
Speaker 1: going to be a challenge. But this is something that
• 22:54
Speaker 1: was easy a club easily predicted. We talked about it,
• 22:57
Speaker 1: we harped on it at the draft with all the
• 22:59
Speaker 1: running backs that were like, Alie, it's got to be
• 23:01
Speaker 1: something you can do here. This is not a position
• 23:05
Speaker 1: where you age gracefully and they are dependent on older
• 23:09
  Speaker 1: running backs.
• 23:09
Speaker 2: That is not ideal.
• 23:11
Speaker 1: So tough loss for the Dallas Cowboys, big win for
• 23:14
Speaker 1: the Niners. They climb back to four and four, and
• 23:21
Speaker 1: we're going to cruise to Detroit, which I don't know
• 23:23
Speaker 1: if that's ever been done before. We're gonna go to
• 23:25
Speaker 1: Detroit where the Lions absolutely beat the stuffing out of
• 23:30
Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans. I mean, I'm sure this is the
• 23:33
Speaker 1: question that's going to be asked on every talk show.
• 23:35
Speaker 1: I don't want to go there because it's pretty silly,
• 23:37
Speaker 1: but I mean, I know they've got one loss, but
• 23:40
Speaker 1: how do this How do you say this isn't the
• 23:42
Speaker 1: best team in the NFL based off what the Lions
• 23:44
Speaker 1: look like right now?
• 23:45
Speaker 2: Buck, I'll give you that one first.
• 23:48
  Speaker 4: Yeah.
• 23:48
Speaker 5: No, what's interesting is listening to Dan Campbell's comments after
• 23:51
Speaker 5: the game, where we talked about, hey, guys, those are
• 23:53
Speaker 5: great performance, but we know we didn't play our best,
• 23:56
Speaker 5: and so the good thing is we can improve without
• 23:58
  Speaker 5: playing our best.
• 24:00
Speaker 4: Look at the Lions. The Lions don't have a glenaring weakness.
• 24:02
Speaker 5: We can talk about the pass rush without eight and
• 24:04
Speaker 5: Hudgson and do they have enough to comple it together?
• 24:06
Speaker 5: But when you look at the entire roster, offensive line
• 24:10
Speaker 5: is rock solid, playmakers, good lower on the perimeter of
• 24:13
  Speaker 5: the passing game.
• 24:14
Speaker 4: Quarterback is the franchise quarterback.
• 24:16
Speaker 5: Defensively, yes, eight hutsons in a shell, but you got
• 24:18
Speaker 5: a bunch of hard working, blue collar guys on the
• 24:20
  Speaker 5: front line.
• 24:21
Speaker 4: Secondary, you've upgraded. I mean, they have it all.
• 24:24
Speaker 5: And then when you go to the kicking game where
• 24:26
Speaker 5: a lot of people don't pay attention, they really improve
• 24:29
Speaker 5: that and become explosive in dead area. They check off
• 24:32
Speaker 5: the boxes in every category when it comes to being
• 24:35
  Speaker 5: the championship.
• 24:36
Speaker 3: Team, way do they great point and just doing a
• 24:41
Speaker 3: little quick tabulation on this front, Kire golf has thrown
• 24:48
Speaker 3: it was just a three six seven. We're talking about
• 24:51
Speaker 3: thirteen incompletions in the last four games. And answer you
• 24:55
Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson at twenty two in this one game for
• 24:58
Speaker 3: the Colts, which I know we'll get to in just
• 25:00
Speaker 3: a little bit, but golf has been so and the
• 25:02
Speaker 3: fact that he threw for eighty five yards in this
• 25:04
Speaker 3: game and they won by what if thirty five plus
• 25:07
Speaker 3: points is incredible. Now you talked about defense offense, We
• 25:11
Speaker 3: talked about that a lot here with with the Detroit
• 25:13
Speaker 3: Lions on both sides of the ball, with the third
• 25:15
Speaker 3: side of the ball showed up in a big way
• 25:17
Speaker 3: for the Lions. Here Khalif Raymond a little bit of
• 25:19
Speaker 3: a revenge game. Former Tennessee Titan has probably the best
• 25:22
Speaker 3: punt return game we've seen from any player this season.
• 25:26
Speaker 3: Should have had two long punt return touchdowns, ends up
• 25:29
Speaker 3: with this ninety yard er on your screen right now,
• 25:31
Speaker 3: and then comes back and has the next score on
• 25:33
Speaker 3: offense for the Lions. Like I mean, when this dude
• 25:37
Speaker 3: is impacting the game that way, combined with all the
• 25:40
Speaker 3: other top tier talent that they have.
• 25:42
Speaker 6: Yes, DJ, the Lions are the best team in football.
• 25:47
Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you the ab c's and I'll go
• 25:49
Speaker 1: to D the level D on the Lions here because
• 25:52
Speaker 1: this is what it is when you watch them. They
• 25:54
Speaker 1: are aggressive, they are balanced, they are creative, and they
• 25:57
Speaker 1: are dynamic. That is ABC and it's every single week
• 26:02
Speaker 1: where you see all facets of that approach and I
• 26:05
Speaker 1: don't know that any other team has that. I know
• 26:07
Speaker 1: the Chiefs are undefeated. A Chiefs defense is no joke.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: They're outstanding. You're starting to see Mahomes kind of get
• 26:13
Speaker 1: a little bit more going with the passing game. But
• 26:14
Speaker 1: they are not as dynamic. They are not as explosive
• 26:17
Speaker 1: as the Detroit Lions are. And the Detroit Lions, I
• 26:19
Speaker 1: think are better up front along the offensive line. So
• 26:22
Speaker 1: when we're looking at you know, big picture and what
• 26:25
Speaker 1: could be a showdown looming, a Super Bowl showdown looming
• 26:28
  Speaker 1: based off.
• 26:29
Speaker 2: Just the eye test.
• 26:30
Speaker 1: And I'm reluctant to say it because anytime I ever say,
• 26:34
Speaker 1: you know, somebody looks better than the Chiefs, the Chiefs
• 26:36
Speaker 1: inevitably going to go on and win the Super Bowl
• 26:37
Speaker 1: and they should still be that favorite. But just who's
• 26:40
Speaker 1: who's the most impressive right now? I would say the
• 26:42
Speaker 1: Detroit Lions buck have been. You know, they've been the
• 26:45
Speaker 1: NFL's most impressive team.
• 26:48
Speaker 5: I mean they're impressive because you know, it's funny were
• 26:51
Speaker 5: talking about the Cowboys in the previous segment.
• 26:53
Speaker 4: And they don't have an identity, like based.
• 26:56
Speaker 5: On their formula for success doesn't really matter the personnel
• 26:59
  Speaker 5: than those things.
• 27:00
  Speaker 4: Detroit.
• 27:00
Speaker 5: I feel like Detroit their roster matches the grit and
• 27:04
Speaker 5: the toughness of the city, which has been touted by
• 27:07
Speaker 5: Dan Campbell and Bray Holmes. They have really built this
• 27:10
Speaker 5: team in the image of the city and they're going
• 27:12
Speaker 5: to blue collar people to sleep and their physicality, their toughness, the.
• 27:17
Speaker 4: Way they can overwhelm you with forsa finess. They have
• 27:20
  Speaker 4: a roster.
• 27:21
Speaker 5: Man, if we were playing a video game, this is
• 27:22
Speaker 5: a team that I would pick up the sticks and play.
• 27:25
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 27:26
Speaker 1: No, it's impressive there what they accomplished. We didn't spend
• 27:29
Speaker 1: much time talking about the Tennessee Titans, but at one
• 27:30
Speaker 1: and six they didn't earn it to be honest with you,
• 27:33
Speaker 1: they didn't earn the discussion time there on what.
• 27:35
Speaker 2: Was rolled wrong with them.
• 27:36
Speaker 1: They get a long ways to go, and I think
• 27:37
Speaker 1: you'll continue to see them sell off pieces and try
• 27:40
Speaker 1: and work towards the future.
• 27:41
Speaker 2: There buck your game, green Bay Jacksonville.
• 27:47
Speaker 4: You know, like, here's the thing. I'm gonna take the
• 27:50
Speaker 4: Green Bay part of it.
• 27:51
Speaker 5: DJ coaching matters, And it is amazing to watch Malie
• 27:55
Speaker 5: Willis play for the Green Bay Packers after watching him
• 27:58
Speaker 5: play for a couple of years in Tennessee. Jordan Love
• 28:01
Speaker 5: gets heart, goes out, Malie Willis comes in, and their
• 28:04
  Speaker 5: offense explodes.
• 28:06
Speaker 4: Run game, Josh Jacobs put it.
• 28:08
Speaker 5: On the bag, made a couple of plays, but then
• 28:11
Speaker 5: it was Malik making plays, you know, being able to
• 28:15
Speaker 5: kind of connect on a few throws and showcasing his
• 28:18
Speaker 5: running ability and scrambling and all of that.
• 28:21
Speaker 4: His confidence is completely intact. And this version of Elie
• 28:25
Speaker 4: Willis looks like the.
• 28:26
Speaker 5: Version that people were trying to project when he was
• 28:29
Speaker 5: in the draft and they were talking about him being
• 28:30
Speaker 5: a first round pick.
• 28:34
  Speaker 6: Man.
• 28:35
Speaker 3: Yeah, for Green Bay, that's quite a luxury to have.
• 28:38
Speaker 3: As I know, they're thankful that Jordan Love seems to
• 28:41
Speaker 3: have escaped a big injury with the groin. I kind
• 28:45
Speaker 3: of thought it was the knee the way he was
• 28:46
Speaker 3: moving around on that thing earlier coming back to haunt
• 28:49
Speaker 3: him a little bit. But yeah, I mean Josh Jacobs
• 28:51
Speaker 3: goes for one hundred and twenty seven yards certainly helps
• 28:54
Speaker 3: Malik Willis's cause there in the second half utilized craft again.
• 28:57
Speaker 6: Those young receivers continue to show.
• 29:00
Speaker 3: Up and then look on the on the flip side
• 29:02
Speaker 3: for the Jaguars, man, it just took took too long
• 29:05
Speaker 3: to get rolling in this one, it felt like. And
• 29:08
Speaker 3: now they they're dealing with, you know, more injuries, right,
• 29:10
Speaker 3: Brian Thomas Junior went out of the game, so you know,
• 29:14
Speaker 3: you as him and Kirk whoa Now, yeah, Christian Kirk
• 29:17
Speaker 3: obviously with what looked like, you know, a shoulder collar
• 29:20
Speaker 3: bone of some sort. Man, that's gosh, you're just losing
• 29:24
Speaker 3: targets here for a team that can't afford to DJ.
• 29:27
Speaker 1: Yeah, and there goes also a trade chip too, if
• 29:30
Speaker 1: you were, you know, entertaining the thought of potentially trading
• 29:33
Speaker 1: Christian Kirk, that's out the window once he's done the shelf. Now,
• 29:35
Speaker 1: so I hate to see that for him. Look, Green Bay,
• 29:39
Speaker 1: there's still some flaws there, but I'm telling you they
• 29:41
Speaker 1: are young on defense and they fly around. They're fun
• 29:44
Speaker 1: to watch. Just how much speed they've collected on that
• 29:46
Speaker 1: side of the ball. Eddrin Cooper, we talked about him
• 29:48
Speaker 1: last week. He continues to make her splash plays. He
• 29:51
Speaker 1: is a good player. He's going to be fun to watch,
• 29:53
Speaker 1: a big a big piece of their defense. So big
• 29:56
Speaker 1: win there for the Green Bay Packers. From the game
• 29:58
Speaker 1: Bucky was at to the game, I wo is that
• 30:00
Speaker 1: Saints Chargers. Look, the Saints are not good. Shuffled quarterbacks around.
• 30:05
Speaker 1: Jake Haner got in there and made some plays and
• 30:08
  Speaker 1: some throws late.
• 30:08
  Speaker 2: Chris o'lave.
• 30:09
Speaker 1: If we're gonna say trade targets, and I don't think
• 30:12
Speaker 1: they will trade Chris Alabbe, but if you're looking at
• 30:14
Speaker 1: the receivers, the names that have at least been mentioned,
• 30:17
Speaker 1: and seeing him live and in person, that'd be the
• 30:19
Speaker 1: top of my list.
• 30:19
Speaker 2: I would flip a two for Chris Olave all day.
• 30:23
Speaker 2: I would happily part with.
• 30:25
Speaker 1: The second round pick for him, and especially looking at
• 30:27
Speaker 1: the draft up ahead. I haven't got deep into it yet,
• 30:30
Speaker 1: but talking to a lot of folks not as top
• 30:32
Speaker 1: end heavy at the wide receiver position, so give even
• 30:35
Speaker 1: more reason if you're looking for a weapon. Chris Alave
• 30:37
Speaker 1: could be one of those guys, but only eight points
• 30:40
Speaker 1: two of those on a safety on a bad punt snap.
• 30:43
Speaker 1: So Chargers defense is number one scoring defense in the NFL.
• 30:46
Speaker 1: That number is going to go down after what they
• 30:48
Speaker 1: held the Saints too in this game. Rock solid on
• 30:51
Speaker 1: that side of the ball. But the big takeaway from
• 30:52
Speaker 1: me rhtt is, you know this is a team that,
• 30:55
Speaker 1: even though they haven't run it effectively, always felt like, man,
• 30:58
Speaker 1: if you're going to commit to the run as much
• 30:59
Speaker 1: as they do and run it as much as they do,
• 31:01
Speaker 1: you have to pay that off with some chunk plays
• 31:04
Speaker 1: down the field. And whether they were successful running the
• 31:06
Speaker 1: ball or not, they hadn't been able to get big
• 31:09
Speaker 1: explosive plays, and they did in this game. Lad McConkie
• 31:12
Speaker 1: had one hundred yard game. He got vertical down the field.
• 31:14
Speaker 1: Josh Palmer got vertical down the field. Even Jalen Rager
• 31:18
Speaker 1: made the best catch of his NFL career on a
• 31:20
Speaker 1: deep ball down the field, and it was like, okay,
• 31:23
Speaker 1: you can see the vision. I know the Saints stink
• 31:26
Speaker 1: on defense too, So I don't want to get it
• 31:27
Speaker 1: carried away here, but this is the vision of what
• 31:29
Speaker 1: it looks like is be able to pay off these
• 31:31
Speaker 1: runs ret and be able to capitalize with some chunk plays.
• 31:35
Speaker 3: Yeah when you go through and you're looking at McConkie,
• 31:38
Speaker 3: you know, had the sixty yard er right, Palmer with
• 31:40
Speaker 3: the forty five yard or even if the recept even
• 31:42
Speaker 3: if like the volume right isn't up there. In terms
• 31:45
Speaker 3: of you know, completions and receptions from a lot of
• 31:47
Speaker 3: these guys, that's it. They're meaningful and they're impactful, and
• 31:49
Speaker 3: I think that's what we saw with McConkie. You know,
• 31:51
Speaker 3: I was super happy to see him get this career
• 31:54
Speaker 3: game right. Six catches on, six targets and two tuddies too.
• 31:57
Speaker 3: You know, just a big time performance for a guy
• 32:00
Speaker 3: that you know, was one of our favorites on path
• 32:01
Speaker 3: to the draft coming out this year and has really
• 32:04
Speaker 3: started to kind of come into his own here now
• 32:05
Speaker 3: that some of that injury stuff is behind it.
• 32:09
Speaker 4: Yeah, really big performance for lad mccocky. But I think
• 32:12
  Speaker 4: this is it.
• 32:12
Speaker 5: We talked about it with the Browns run game, vertical
• 32:15
Speaker 5: passing game, strong run game.
• 32:18
Speaker 4: Got to take it down to field with Justin Herbert.
• 32:21
Speaker 5: You can see he has the arm talentent to really
• 32:23
Speaker 5: fit into this type of system. It's a matter do
• 32:25
Speaker 5: they have enough playmakers, but the playmakers are minimized because
• 32:28
Speaker 5: the running games affectiveness. Ors's defense is to play one
• 32:32
Speaker 5: on one. That's why you're seeing these teams take advantage
• 32:34
Speaker 5: of it. When you got ring game, good quarterback, vertical passing.
• 32:37
Speaker 1: Game, yeah, no question there, big win the Chargers again.
• 32:41
Speaker 1: The schedule sets up for them. They go to Cleveland
• 32:43
Speaker 1: this week, so those two vertical passing games. But he's
• 32:45
Speaker 1: talking about we'll see them both on display. Looking forward
• 32:49
Speaker 1: to being out there.
• 32:49
Speaker 3: Go ahead, right, I mean, we're not going to shout
• 32:52
Speaker 3: out Matt Locke for a sack interception in this game.
• 32:54
Speaker 2: I know, and a reception? How about that?
• 32:56
  Speaker 4: Well?
• 32:57
Speaker 1: I told Harba, I told coach Harpall a couple of
• 32:59
Speaker 1: weeks ago that he's sponsible for every scout uh being
• 33:02
Speaker 1: responsible for working out defensive tackles as fullbacks at every
• 33:05
Speaker 1: pro day from here.
• 33:06
  Speaker 2: To the time.
• 33:08
  Speaker 6: Good luck.
• 33:08
Speaker 1: That's a little later flight, thanks, get a little later
• 33:11
Speaker 1: flight after those pro days, you guys spend a little
• 33:14
Speaker 1: extra time in those D line and see if they
• 33:15
Speaker 1: can catch h Buck. Atlanta Tampa Bay. This is a division,
• 33:21
Speaker 1: is kind of a funky division. But it's a big
• 33:23
Speaker 1: win here for the Atlanta Falcons as they get to
• 33:25
Speaker 1: five and three the Bucks they fall to four and
• 33:28
Speaker 1: four in a game where they didn't have any of
• 33:29
  Speaker 1: their receivers.
• 33:31
Speaker 5: Well more importantly, they break out the broom like if
• 33:34
Speaker 5: you're able to get get get them up out of here.
• 33:37
Speaker 5: And so Nattie went to sweep. You're talking about being
• 33:39
Speaker 5: able to win to tabreak and all those things.
• 33:41
  Speaker 4: Uh.
• 33:41
Speaker 5: The Atlanta Falcons are funny because they really rally behind kirku.
• 33:45
Speaker 5: Kirk Cousins has them going. He's been hot, he's playing
• 33:49
Speaker 5: well for them. This is kind of what Raheem Morris
• 33:52
Speaker 5: and those guys were hoping for when they made the
• 33:54
Speaker 5: move to give Kirk Cousins the bag to be their
• 33:57
  Speaker 5: starting quarterback.
• 34:00
Speaker 6: Man. Can they play Todd Bowles's defense every week?
• 34:04
  Speaker 4: Shoot?
• 34:04
  Speaker 6: I mean they're gonna close.
• 34:05
Speaker 3: They started this month with just an absolute gem of
• 34:09
Speaker 3: a performance on a Thursday night, and they're going to
• 34:12
Speaker 3: end this month with a sweep of the Bucks. And like,
• 34:14
Speaker 3: think about how much this game means he Yeah, it
• 34:16
Speaker 3: was great to see Kyle Pitts make two touchdown grabs
• 34:18
Speaker 3: right and get into the end zone a couple of
• 34:20
Speaker 3: times from Kirk, who was on fire in this game.
• 34:23
Speaker 3: How I mean like they have now swept the team
• 34:25
Speaker 3: that is by far the most viable contender to challenge them.
• 34:29
Speaker 6: At the top of the division.
• 34:30
Speaker 3: So if it's even remotely close coming down to it,
• 34:33
Speaker 3: the Falcons own that the important tie breakers in this thing.
• 34:37
Speaker 3: So I think this game was was huge for Kirk
• 34:40
Speaker 3: Cousins and the Falcons. And then look, I think for
• 34:42
Speaker 3: Baker and the Bucks, some real fight there. To be
• 34:45
Speaker 3: without god Win, to be without Mike Evans, I think
• 34:48
Speaker 3: you saw a bona fide weapon emerging. Kate otten right
• 34:51
Speaker 3: two touchdowns in this game, caught nine of ten targets
• 34:54
Speaker 3: and went for Dan near one hundred yards. It's happened
• 34:57
Speaker 3: to be National tight end Day. So showed up in
• 34:58
Speaker 3: a big way. And I think that something that you
• 35:00
Speaker 3: can build on as you move forward here if you're
• 35:03
Speaker 3: the Bucks and hopefully you get Chris, you get Mike
• 35:05
Speaker 3: Evans back here soon.
• 35:07
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 35:08
Speaker 1: Again, huge for the Atlanta Falcons to be able to
• 35:11
Speaker 1: pick up both those wins against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
• 35:14
  Speaker 1: and I.
• 35:15
Speaker 2: Think this the NFC is better than the AFC. I
• 35:18
Speaker 2: think that the field is loaded.
• 35:19
Speaker 1: I don't know how much confidence I have the Falcons
• 35:21
Speaker 1: to get in the tournament and do a lot of
• 35:22
Speaker 1: damage and won a bunch of ball games. But when
• 35:25
  Speaker 1: you're trying with a new setup, you've got a young
• 35:28
Speaker 1: coaching staff here, you want to see, you know, some
• 35:30
Speaker 1: good steps be taken. Man, they're in a great position
• 35:32
Speaker 1: to go ahead and compete to win this thing. So
• 35:35
Speaker 1: win the division and then kind of lift off from there,
• 35:38
Speaker 1: and nobody's talking about, you know, Pennix Kirk Cousins and
• 35:41
Speaker 1: did you pay Kirk too much? Did you draft Penix
• 35:43
Speaker 1: when you shouldn't have? You win the division and everything's great.
• 35:47
Speaker 1: So they're a very good spot there, very good spot there,
• 35:51
Speaker 1: no question. All right, let's get to the AFC East
• 35:58
Speaker 1: here with Man, there's a lot of different ways we
• 36:03
Speaker 1: can go on this one. The Jets go to New
• 36:07
Speaker 1: England and lose. They fall to two and six. Drake May,
• 36:10
Speaker 1: who was playing well before getting hurt, he goes out.
• 36:13
Speaker 1: Jacoby Brissette comes in and leads a comeback there for
• 36:16
Speaker 1: the New England Patriots. Buck, This is a I mean,
• 36:19
  Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know how much this provides
• 36:21
Speaker 1: for New England. I guess it lessens a little bit
• 36:24
Speaker 1: of the outside criticism, some of the friendly fire, the
• 36:26
Speaker 1: Bill Belichick friendly fire maybe ceases to exist for a
• 36:30
Speaker 1: week here, but man devastating from from a Jets standpoint, Yeah, look,
• 36:38
Speaker 1: it's over so gay.
• 36:41
Speaker 4: To quarterback everything you wanted, and they've gotten worse.
• 36:44
Speaker 5: If I had a coach and everything, and they're just
• 36:46
Speaker 5: in a free for all, and I just don't know
• 36:48
Speaker 5: how you fix them.
• 36:50
Speaker 4: You know, you bring her Son Reddick back.
• 36:52
Speaker 5: I mean, like you're trying to do everything and you
• 36:55
Speaker 5: still can't get it going.
• 36:56
Speaker 4: And the crazy thing.
• 36:57
Speaker 5: Is this office is as bad, if not worse in
• 37:01
Speaker 5: the office when Zach Wilson was running it. I mean
• 37:05
Speaker 5: did not sco at any points, no explosive plays.
• 37:08
Speaker 4: It's just a hodgepodge of nothingness.
• 37:11
Speaker 5: And they're gonna have a tough time like continue defeated
• 37:14
Speaker 5: because you knew that the Patriots. If the Patriots can
• 37:17
Speaker 5: stymy them, anybody's gonna stymy them going forward.
• 37:20
Speaker 4: They're just not explosive enough to be able to wing games.
• 37:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean listening to Aaron Rodgers, you know, after
• 37:26
Speaker 3: the game talk about you know, it's fundamentals like.
• 37:32
Speaker 6: Week eight talking about you know, we're talking about fundamentals.
• 37:35
Speaker 3: We're talking about he's talking about play calls coming into
• 37:38
Speaker 3: the sidelines, so about not getting out of huddle quick enough, talking.
• 37:40
Speaker 6: About substitution errors. No, I guess that's part. I guess
• 37:44
Speaker 6: that's part of it.
• 37:45
Speaker 3: You know, when you're changing staff, right, and you're changing
• 37:49
Speaker 3: you know, responsibilities within the staff, and you do have
• 37:52
Speaker 3: some moving pieces. But I mean this that is discovered. First,
• 37:56
Speaker 3: it was last week. It was not having the juice,
• 37:58
Speaker 3: not having the energy, didn't feel like it were up
• 38:00
Speaker 3: of the game. Now we're talking about you know what
• 38:02
Speaker 3: sounds like fairly rudimentary stuff, you know, day one stuff, right,
• 38:05
Speaker 3: Personnel groupings, you're talking about, you know, operation with play
• 38:09
Speaker 3: calls and getting out of the huddle. I mean, I'm
• 38:11
Speaker 3: wondering here, and I know the answer is no, because
• 38:14
Speaker 3: they play New York and Aaron Rodgers is there and
• 38:17
Speaker 3: there's always going to be a microphone.
• 38:18
Speaker 6: But it's at this point do the Jets just kind
• 38:21
Speaker 6: of fade off into the ether here? I mean, at
• 38:25
  Speaker 6: some point they.
• 38:27
Speaker 5: Have to why we're gonna keep putting the more TV,
• 38:30
Speaker 5: the on every prime chide.
• 38:31
Speaker 4: Like what, huh, we don't need to keep seeing this product.
• 38:36
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
• 38:39
Speaker 1: Look, my thing is just it's just different. And I
• 38:43
Speaker 1: know people appreciate the honesty. And there's no other quarterback
• 38:47
Speaker 1: that has the platform that Aaron has on a weekly basis.
• 38:51
Speaker 1: I just it's so odd to me not to just
• 38:54
Speaker 1: see the quarterback just own everything. You own everything. I
• 38:57
Speaker 1: just everybody, every quarterback that I've ever seen or been around,
• 39:01
Speaker 1: or it'd be great quarterback that you've ever followed, fuck
• 39:05
  Speaker 1: have you.
• 39:05
Speaker 2: I don't remember that, at least publicly.
• 39:08
  Speaker 1: I mean, it's one thing if you're in a meeting
• 39:09
Speaker 1: and like, hey on details, like coaches, we got to
• 39:12
Speaker 1: get plays in on time, you know, we got to
• 39:14
Speaker 1: we got to be where we need to be. We're
• 39:16
Speaker 1: lining up wrong, just simple stuff that can't happen. And
• 39:19
Speaker 1: then even in that setting, the players will take you know,
• 39:21
Speaker 1: the quarterback will take responsibility. And I've done this, this
• 39:24
Speaker 1: and this, and you know what, I'm sick of the
• 39:26
Speaker 1: way I'm playing and I'm going to be better. But
• 39:28
Speaker 1: I've just never seen it where the quarterback publicly doesn't
• 39:32
Speaker 1: take one hundred percent ownership. Fuck am I am? I
• 39:36
Speaker 1: remembering incorrectly here. You played with some Hall of Fame quarterbacks.
• 39:39
Speaker 1: Now do you remember that.
• 39:42
Speaker 5: DJ the quarterback owns everything publicly. Privately he lays into everybody,
• 39:46
  Speaker 5: But publicly, hey.
• 39:47
Speaker 4: Man, that's on me. I can do a better job. Yeada, YadA, YadA.
• 39:51
Speaker 5: But but passing blame and doing that thing, it doesn't work.
• 39:54
Speaker 5: But I'm telling you, man, under pressure, your true colors
• 39:58
  Speaker 5: come out.
• 39:58
Speaker 4: The leadership or lack the shows up.
• 40:01
Speaker 5: And he has not been a good leader during this
• 40:03
Speaker 5: crisis that the Jets are in the midst of.
• 40:07
Speaker 1: It feels to me just like someone who's getting to
• 40:09
Speaker 1: the end of his career and is not coming to
• 40:11
Speaker 1: grips with it, you know what I mean.
• 40:15
Speaker 2: And defensively they're not as good.
• 40:16
Speaker 1: My theory on the defense, and then we'll move on
• 40:18
Speaker 1: the last thought here, But my theory on the defense
• 40:21
Speaker 1: is they had the feeling of we have to be
• 40:25
Speaker 1: so dialed in and so locked in and so perfect,
• 40:29
Speaker 1: like you can't exhale. That's the way they've played defense
• 40:31
Speaker 1: the last few years, and they've been excellent at it,
• 40:33
Speaker 1: and they've known what the bar was for them to
• 40:37
Speaker 1: keep their team in football games, and they and they delivered,
• 40:40
Speaker 1: And I honestly think, and it's probably just subconscious, but Okay,
• 40:44
Speaker 1: we've got a Hall of Fame quarterback. Now he's got
• 40:46
Speaker 1: all these MVPs, Like, we can exhale a little bit.
• 40:50
Speaker 1: We don't have to be so locked in because it's
• 40:53
Speaker 1: exhausting to be locked in to play at a high
• 40:56
Speaker 1: level like that every week. And I think they kind
• 40:58
Speaker 1: of lost a little bit of their edge. And oh,
• 41:00
Speaker 1: by the way, they're not getting it what they thought
• 41:03
Speaker 1: they were going to get from the offense. So now
• 41:05
Speaker 1: you've got an offense it's still as bad as it's
• 41:07
Speaker 1: really been, and you've got a defense that, under the
• 41:10
Speaker 1: assumption they wouldn't have to do everything, is not as
• 41:12
Speaker 1: good as they used to be. So long story longer,
• 41:16
  Speaker 1: it's a it's a mess. It's a mess there, Yeah, yeah,
• 41:22
Speaker 1: all right, Arizona in Miami. I was excited to see
• 41:27
Speaker 1: the cutups in this game of Marvin Harrison Junior having
• 41:31
Speaker 1: a big game as they beat the Miami dolfense.
• 41:34
  Speaker 6: Buck.
• 41:35
Speaker 1: I'll get to you on that one first, but it
• 41:36
Speaker 1: was nice seeing Marvin Harrison on runaway routes like, he's
• 41:40
Speaker 1: not a curl comeback, work back to the quarterback, route runner.
• 41:43
Speaker 1: That's not who he is. He is an on the
• 41:46
Speaker 1: move guy. He is overs, he is slants, he is digs.
• 41:50
Speaker 1: It's run after catch like that's what he is. Everything's
• 41:54
  Speaker 1: on the move, and he's a great player. It's it's
• 41:57
Speaker 1: that's why. It was just kind of baffling to me
• 41:58
Speaker 1: how they were deploying them over the last few weeks.
• 42:01
Speaker 1: And lo and behold they get him on the movie
• 42:03
Speaker 1: as a big day and they go on a ball game.
• 42:07
Speaker 5: Yeah, kind of crazy how that is, right, Like, they
• 42:09
Speaker 5: get him on the move, they treat him and put
• 42:11
Speaker 5: him in the right situation and allow him to have success.
• 42:14
Speaker 5: And well, look, we talked about it because on paths
• 42:17
Speaker 5: to the draft, we frequently talk about operating instructions. Sometimes
• 42:21
Speaker 5: it takes teams a little bit to figure out how
• 42:25
Speaker 5: to operate their top picks. And I'm just glad that
• 42:28
Speaker 5: the Cardinals figured it out. This is a talented player,
• 42:31
Speaker 5: is a big body player, a number one receiver, and
• 42:33
Speaker 5: they got him the ball and you saw the impact
• 42:35
Speaker 5: that he had on the game.
• 42:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was obviously important for the Cardinals.
• 42:42
  Speaker 4: Trade.
• 42:42
Speaker 3: McBride obviously went off as well with a massive day.
• 42:45
Speaker 3: Those two guys. Man, that could be fun to watch
• 42:49
Speaker 3: for the next few years with Kyler Murray and company
• 42:51
Speaker 3: and where they can most of the time get that
• 42:53
  Speaker 3: run game going.
• 42:55
Speaker 6: The other piece of it is obviously to a tungo by.
• 42:56
Speaker 3: Lowe's return, right, And I think you saw that not
• 43:00
Speaker 3: only did that unlock some things in what they wanted
• 43:04
Speaker 3: to do to get Tyreek kill the football and that
• 43:06
Speaker 3: the run game was back or the Miami Dolphins.
• 43:10
Speaker 6: And I think that was such a big deal.
• 43:12
Speaker 3: And obviously the impact of having Tua back having to
• 43:15
Speaker 3: make some of those decisions, having the threat of what
• 43:17
Speaker 3: he can do through the air, it really unlocked Devin
• 43:20
Speaker 3: h Devon h Chan who went for ninety seven yards
• 43:23
Speaker 3: in this one, caught a bunch of balls too, and
• 43:25
Speaker 3: then Moster gets into the end zone. Couple like that's
• 43:28
Speaker 3: starting to get more like it.
• 43:30
Speaker 6: You know, do they have enough time?
• 43:31
  Speaker 2: Right?
• 43:32
Speaker 3: Do the Dolphins have enough time to make up what
• 43:34
Speaker 3: they lost over the course of the last month or
• 43:36
Speaker 3: so with two out so certainly good to see. I
• 43:39
Speaker 3: think they're going to start kind of making their way
• 43:42
Speaker 3: back on that positive trend.
• 43:43
  Speaker 4: Line here.
• 43:45
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it definitely looked different in a good way
• 43:48
Speaker 1: for the Miami Dolphins offensively. RTT go back to you
• 43:52
Speaker 1: on this one, Indy Houston, and there we can hit
• 43:55
Speaker 1: the Anthony Richardson thing if you want to start there
• 43:58
Speaker 1: where they go moving forward. They're a four and four
• 44:00
Speaker 1: team right now, Houston six and two, not playing their
• 44:02
Speaker 1: best football, but finding ways to win ball games.
• 44:05
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 44:06
Speaker 3: I mean, if you're the the Bears, maybe you maybe
• 44:08
Speaker 3: you take a page out of the Texans playbook on
• 44:11
Speaker 3: the hail Mary attempt at the end, right, they put
• 44:14
Speaker 3: the three defensive linemen left of the center to force
• 44:17
Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson out to his left because they didn't want
• 44:19
Speaker 3: him throw him right. And then they bring a guy
• 44:22
Speaker 3: essentially kind of trapped him right, and then they bring
• 44:24
Speaker 3: one of the three loop him all the way around.
• 44:26
Speaker 3: There was nowhere to go. He didn't even get to
• 44:28
Speaker 3: throw off, and the game was over. Ball came out
• 44:30
Speaker 3: Will Anderson jumps on it. And that's a way to
• 44:33
Speaker 3: prevent the Tyreek Stevenson piece of the play all the
• 44:35
Speaker 3: way down the field right, just sack the dang guy
• 44:38
Speaker 3: before he even gets the ball off. So you know
• 44:41
Speaker 3: that's something and look, I mean the Texans formula is clear.
• 44:43
Speaker 3: It's Joe Mixon, Stefan Diggs goes down in this game,
• 44:46
Speaker 3: waiting to see what happens there. That's tough because Nico
• 44:49
Speaker 3: Collins is out, has been out. Hopefully he's on the
• 44:52
  Speaker 3: way back.
• 44:53
  Speaker 6: I mean.
• 44:55
  Speaker 3: Anthony Richardson thing now, I mean there's a there's GFF
• 45:01
Speaker 3: has a stat right, the adjusted completion percentage, because right
• 45:04
Speaker 3: now the regular one is bad. Right, it's thirty two percent,
• 45:07
Speaker 3: ten out of thirty two on the day. The adjusted
• 45:10
Speaker 3: completion percentage, which accounts for overthrows, tips, you know, throw
• 45:13
Speaker 3: not overthrows, throwaways, tips, drops, but it's only forty four percent.
• 45:18
Speaker 3: It did not get that much better. So that is
• 45:21
Speaker 3: still horribly short of winning football. And Sintsteiken said today
• 45:25
Speaker 3: when asked if they were evaluating Anthony Richardson, they're evaluating everything,
• 45:29
Speaker 3: which is kind of like the non answer answer.
• 45:32
Speaker 2: Well, that tells you start next week, is what that
• 45:35
  Speaker 2: tells you?
• 45:35
Speaker 6: Right, what tells you?
• 45:36
  Speaker 1: Okay, I've never I've never said we're gonna take a
• 45:39
Speaker 1: tap look at this, and it's ended up being, you
• 45:41
Speaker 1: know what, much better than we thought, much better than
• 45:43
  Speaker 1: we thought.
• 45:44
Speaker 2: That's not usually how that works.
• 45:46
Speaker 6: And then the tap out thing, I don't buck.
• 45:48
Speaker 4: I don't know them well man, like you can't just
• 45:52
  Speaker 4: don't know.
• 45:52
Speaker 5: There's certain things that quarterbacks can't do. The quarterback can
• 45:56
Speaker 5: that willingly take himself.
• 45:58
Speaker 2: I've never seen it before, never seen one.
• 46:00
Speaker 5: But this isn't not high school at any level, not
• 46:05
Speaker 5: even in high school.
• 46:05
Speaker 4: When you're the starting quarterback, you're staying the game.
• 46:09
Speaker 5: You call a different play, call a running play, call
• 46:11
Speaker 5: something that's not you run it truck, don't. The quarterback
• 46:15
Speaker 5: does not tap himself out like that is the craziest
• 46:19
Speaker 5: thing that I've ever seen it. Now, I'll say this
• 46:21
Speaker 5: because I wrote a thing in the notebook about and
• 46:23
Speaker 5: they need to send Anthony Richardson down for his own good.
• 46:27
Speaker 5: He's dead last in completion percentage, passer rating, all of
• 46:32
Speaker 5: these things. And if you're going to develop him, there's
• 46:36
Speaker 5: nothing wrong with having.
• 46:37
Speaker 4: Him sit down for a year or two, let him
• 46:39
Speaker 4: develop on the practice fuel.
• 46:41
Speaker 5: But this team, as a head coach, you owt to
• 46:44
Speaker 5: your team to give them the best chance to win.
• 46:47
Speaker 5: He is not the best quarterback on their roster. They
• 46:49
Speaker 5: need to put Joe Flecco in continue to develop him.
• 46:52
Speaker 5: And maybe he turns out. But what you can't do
• 46:55
Speaker 5: is let Anthony Richardson be the albatross that holds the
• 46:59
Speaker 5: coach back and do that.
• 47:01
  Speaker 2: Yeah, I.
• 47:04
Speaker 3: Mean you take him off the field like the guy
• 47:06
Speaker 3: hadn't played five games in a row.
• 47:08
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 47:08
Speaker 3: I just I don't know how he's gonna get any better.
• 47:12
Speaker 3: And yeah, but it's clear I agree with you. It's
• 47:14
Speaker 3: clearly Joe Flaham, like, that's the answer.
• 47:18
Speaker 2: I was just thinking of it.
• 47:20
Speaker 1: Okay, say that you're just so exhausted, like I can't
• 47:24
Speaker 1: I can't catch my breath enough to literally take a snap.
• 47:28
Speaker 1: I was like, if you gave it a multiple choice,
• 47:30
Speaker 1: no multiple choice, multiple choice options here, buck, you're ready.
• 47:34
Speaker 1: Number one, you just flat out call a timeout and
• 47:36
Speaker 1: you come over to the coach and say about I
• 47:38
Speaker 1: can't catch my breath. I had to call timeout. That's
• 47:40
  Speaker 1: that's a okay, b I pretend that I can't get
• 47:44
Speaker 1: the play call on my headset, something's malfunction in my helmet.
• 47:48
  Speaker 2: I put my I put.
• 47:49
Speaker 1: My hand over my ears, and I just go, I
• 47:51
Speaker 1: got to call a time out. And you come over
• 47:52
Speaker 1: there and sat and I just couldn't understand you. That's
• 47:54
Speaker 1: option two, Option three. As Buck said, I'm just going
• 47:58
Speaker 1: to change the plays. I'm just calling a running play.
• 48:00
Speaker 1: I gotta catch my breath, you know, and apologize to
• 48:02
Speaker 1: the coaches later. Option four is you tap out of
• 48:05
Speaker 1: a game like there's no no quarterback I've ever heard
• 48:09
Speaker 1: of in my life that faced with those choices, would
• 48:12
  Speaker 1: choose option four.
• 48:13
Speaker 6: Option four, Option four hundred.
• 48:15
Speaker 4: There's yeah, I appreciate the honesty. I appreciate the honesty,
• 48:20
Speaker 4: but that is not sure. That is that is not make.
• 48:24
Speaker 1: An injury option. That's another option we can get. We
• 48:27
Speaker 1: can keep forever. I thought he was hurt. I thought
• 48:29
Speaker 1: he was hurt. I thought he was hurt again. And
• 48:31
Speaker 1: then I've seen this man.
• 48:33
  Speaker 6: Whoa, that's crazy.
• 48:37
Speaker 1: Yeah, that was not that was not great. So we'll
• 48:40
Speaker 1: see what happens. I anticipated it'll be Jill Flacco there.
• 48:42
Speaker 1: I'll be shocked if if it isn't, maybe by the
• 48:44
Speaker 1: time you're listening to this or watching this, that is
• 48:45
Speaker 1: that is already the case.
• 48:46
Speaker 2: Hey, this is a this is a fun show.
• 48:48
Speaker 1: We've got a couple of good saucy nugs in there,
• 48:51
Speaker 1: raise rets, Indiana Hoosiers, you know, the usual, so as
• 48:53
Speaker 1: well as some wild usual.
• 48:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go.
• 48:57
Speaker 1: All that's gonna do it for. I appreciate you guys hanging.
• 48:59
Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. Right here on, move the sticks.
• 49:22
  Speaker 3: M
