So because they've got residency they have filmed two shows and

made them into kind of like 2 separate shows which gives you 4

with one show to come in a couple weeks time.

So we will touch on the two groups and then I will explain

the rules for those that do not know.

So the Enigma series has two blocks A&B.

The rules, as Mark Adams told us, are they are 10 minute time

And then we went into the opening match of the Block A's,

which was Kevin Lloyd against Declan McCarthy.

So a few notes on this before we throw it open to Miles.

Really good technical contest. Very hard hitting as you would

expect with these two. Lloyd has deck in a bit of

trouble as he applies an arm bar from nowhere.

A Declan then hits hard, then whips Lloyd into the corner

three times while still having control of the wrist.

Sexy Kev then hits free. German Suplex tries to apply the

arm bar again, but even though he does it, he can't lock the

fingers to really kind of cinch it in.

Kevin has deck in a kind of like an kind of like a hammerlock in

a sense, but McCaffrey reverses it, froze Lloyd head first into

the middle turnbuckle and from that point just grabs Lloyd into

the centre of the ring and hits a massive powerbomb to record 2

My thoughts on this match was it was a very very physical

encounter. Deck looking really strong in

this match, Kev just equally as strong.

Two absolute workhorses of Catch Pro Wrestling in the first match

of the show for Kev was looking really stronger this match.

The suplex sequence he did where he got the suplex Kev chant,

that was great. Yeah, Kev was on fire.

Dev Deck was hitting some nasty elbows and like lariats, he just

looked on fire. Both guys looking like they were

going to pick up the two points. Deck coming out with a whim with

knocked, knocked the cab out. Yeah.

And I think it moved. It looked like it moved the ring

So we went from that straight into the second block, a contest

which featured Henry Faust against Keen and Krishna, both

men using their wrestling skills early on or as Mark Adams kept

calling it, tekkers. For the first kind of like

couple minutes of this contest, Krishna constantly went back to

working on the eyes of his opponent, hit a really solid

shot in the corner. Faust moves on 1/3 splash that

Keenan went to do. And as Henry fights back, the 2

trade forearm strikes and just as they kind of slowed down,

Keenan lights an absolute fire under Henry, under Henry, even

as he slaps him across the face. And was a case of when you see

someone that's so angry they stiffen up.

That was effectively how Faust was.

To which we see two clotheslines, a high angle

suplex and then a phrase I am now using on the lines of the

So for Henry Phelps I have got the best striker from Newcastle

since Alan Shearer with his kicks, even though he then

corrected me and said he's a West Ham fan and said well you

he's in complete control at this point, Kicks Keenan in the

chest, to which Faust is one of those people I would not want to

be kicked by because they are solid as a rock.

Krishna then hits a drop kick to the back of Faust's head.

Henry reverses a move into a sleeper hold with Keenan

resorting to biting the hand of Henry.

Throws a couple of punches and then we see Faust turning the

tide again. Signals for a buzz saw kick but

Krishna pulls rescue in the way of it.

A quick clothesline and Krishna wins the match with a Deaf

Valley driver to see him picking up two points in the Enigma

series. And as we come to the first

round of these blockade matches, we have both Krishna and

McCarthy on 2 points and Faust and Lloyd on 0 points.

Well, this match, I think it was just what I love about catch and

like the type of matches that they put on it.

Just they just take two people and like these two people, they

can kick the crap out of each other pretty well.

Let's have them in a match and they just let them just go at it

all rough and tumble. And it's it's a breath of fresh

air because up to this point in Catch for the past couple

months, we haven't seen Keenan face many new opponents because

since his heel turn, we've only had Tony Wright and Danny proper

that he's faced, you know, he's never gone against the rest of

the Catch roster. So him being in this tournament

is a real breath of fresh air. And it just shows how good both

of these men are that because, you know, they're in the middle

of the way, in the middle of the car, they needed to keep

people's attention. And they did really well because

that was a real hard hitting match.

I also liked the fact, I don't know if you brought this up,

that I believe Teddy Ray was at ringside for Keenan.

He turned up late in this contest.

could say, but for for once, when you have kind of like a

like a bad guy turning up at the ring, you expect shenanigans,

but you didn't get that, which is again, refreshing to have

because normally it results in kind of an interference.

But again, with the rules as they are, if you are caught you

lose a point. Yes, almost have to be on best

behaviour on the outside. I think the story with this is

that it that with Teddy coming out, it just put Faust head on

that just a little bit of a swivel and it what led Keenan to

be able to fully capitalise and get the victory here.

So I think we'll more just mind games from Keenan because we

have been seen that the past couple months he's been getting

in the minds of his opponents and making them second guess

themselves. So I do like how we're still

carrying on, you know, his character and his progression

even into this tournament. So yeah, that's my thoughts.

Miles. Yeah like I say, Stan's pretty

much summed it up. Great technical match, some

absolute Peaches of some strikes in this match.

The tips were on point. I honestly two very similar

style wrestlers clashing. Very similar to the first match

where it's like 2 very similar styles locking up in the ring.

Enjoyed Teddy being on the outside sort of is support for

Keenan even though not physically getting involved,

sort of like is it a distraction to Henry because he's trying to

focus on Keenan and Teddy at the same time.

So it's sort of give Keenan the edge in the match.

So it was like solid victory for Keenan to pick up two points on

the the old Enigma series board. What I find interesting in Block

A is if you actually look at it, you have three very technically

sound wrestlers in McCarthy, Faust and Lloyd.

The very kind of physical and very technical.

You have Krishna who is not very technical.

He's more, I suppose you'd say more kind of the the speedier of

the four. And as we'll kind of come to

looking at this block, you probably may not have put

Krishna as leading or in the top 2 at this point in time.

But what it has done, it has thrown up some interesting

results so far, more of which we will touch on a bit later on

when we come to the second round of matches.

We then had our main event of show number one or episode #1 if

you will. And this was for the Catch

Women's Championship as Lily Winter defended her title

against Melissa Fierce. And this I thought was a really

good contest. So the notes as I have them,

Melissa has Lily's head trapped between her legs having got out

of it. With a very good technical move,

A Winter fires back and hits a Gut Wrench Suplex on Fierce.

Melissa then launches Lily into the corner and continues to have

the upper hand. However, it sees the champion

having to really fight tooth and nail in this contest as she hits

a Sunset Foot to goes to hit a backslide, but Mel knocks her

down and regains control in this contest.

Winter fights back, hits kind of like a combination of moves, a

double running knee in the corner, then goes for the cold

shoulder, but Fierce manages to kind of wriggle out and hits a

backstabber in the ropes, which was a really nice move I have to

say. Lily hits Frostbite on Fias, but

can only get a 2 count. Fias hits a suplex on Winter,

which has both Lucy and Mark on commentary, quite proverbially

shitting themselves because it was right by them.

Lily rallies, but comes unstuck when Mel causes her opponent to

drop down and effectively do the splits on the middle rope.

Gets a face plant for her troubles.

Can only get A2 counts. However, if Mel hadn't grabbed

with a new women's champion. As it was ref Katie noticed her

We then have a crossbody followed by a cold shoulder by

Lily Winter and she goes on to defend her Catch Women's title

again. I really loved this was a really

good main event. We will come to Miles because

Yes, so this was a very, very strong title defence for Lily.

It's Melissa come in as the heel, which was nice to see the

different side of Melissa. What I the story in this match

was it was Melissa was very arrogant and she was showing off

her inexperience to catch because it was pretty sure it

was a debut in catch if I'm correct.

You are, yes, kind. Of Melissa's debut in Catch.

So she showboat into the fans. Very cocky, very arrogant.

I loved how in the match she was just shouting towards like

of like being the the fan favourite.

She does that equally as well. But I think she just kind of

venue, Asks the crowd should they do one more lap, to which

everyone kind of starts chanting one more lap, One more lap.

Even though I think we're all chanting to lock the door so he

didn't come back in. I did find that quite funny.

I thought it was quite a humorous bit.

Eventually, though, Olbermann tells us that catch management

have gave him the option, surprisingly, of choosing his

first challenger. That's since he took the title

he wants the IT kind of scours the the massive crowd that was

in on this particular night. And then we get the crowd

chanting for certain people. So we have a massive chant for

Jeebus, who kind of laughs it off and thinks, no, don't be

editor, who is almost effectively attached at the hip

with Scott considering. Scott's payday.

Then it switched to Mark Adams and Mark very quickly got out

ring Lucy Simon on commentary and as soon as the Lucy chant

Scott and I've almost had Scott breaking character for a brief

time. And then we had one or two

people chant Solomon, which didn't particularly get as much

traction as the others did, but eventually it had Scott picking

out a skinny dude that was in the crowd.

being Brady Phillips. To which the last cat show saw

Phillips and Ryan going at it and had Phillips coming out on

top after low blowing Troy Ryan to take victory on that

occasion. So this is Troy Ryan calling out

alone as we see Riley Nova making his debut at Catch Brady.

Then Brady then starts to go mad at Troy Ryan, who Ryan had

called Phillips a cheater having won at the last show.

However, we have Brady telling Ryan, if we want to talk about

cheaters, why don't we go in the back and prove it by pissing in

a cup, trying to claim that Troy's on the juice.

And that's why he's kind of so big.

And he's used this kind of insult at him a couple of Times

Now, to which Ryan pretty much just laughs off.

I thought it was a quite a clever segment, to be fair.

Sort of like having the two guys that sort of at the top of catch

at the minute with Brady and Troy.

Troy calling out Brady, Brady not coming along because he sort

one target in catch. Troy wants to take Brady out, so

Show 2 at Future Shop. And we were trying to, we were

trying to tell or trying to guess if we knew who the music

belonged to. That's kind of how it felt.

put two and two together. But yes, I just say Phillips is

Before the match got underway, we were joined by members of

Northwest Strong in Keenan Krishna and Teddy Ray because

these four men have a bit of a history dating back to the final

cat show at the Breadshed which saw Danny Proper saving Tony

Wright. Though in fairness, looking back

now it was Ridgeway, not Ray, but they've all intertwined in

the last couple of shows it's fair to say.

However, Tony then makes a joke claiming that Ray and Keenan are

just team new versions of both him and Danny Proper, Which I

did kind of get a little kick out of that.

The match itself and the notes I have basically go as follows.

Feet a very long feeling out period because they both know

each other's move moves. Even the crowd were very split

Proper and then they would switch to rights a lot didn't

confirmly kind of like attach their allegiances to one person,

which made it an interesting match amongst the fans at least.
