- 0:22It is time to leave your worries outside and do what you're I guess kind
- 0:30of already doing now, which is joining us inside the treehouse with me Daniel
- 0:36Mallley, Trade Trenholm, Raj Sharma, and the one and only rock and
- 0:41roll attorney Everett Newton. Yeah you can hear it still, right, Oh
- 0:50yeah, okay, yeah, we got that figured out. We mentioned it
- 0:55was yesterday the day before about how this whole set up, This whole you
- 0:59know, did you thing has us, you know, trying to act as
- 1:03our own engineers, which is very scary. There was a reason why in
- 1:06our radio days we were not allowed in the engineer room, and it wasn't
- 1:10just because it was very possible we might blow it up on purpose but also
- 1:15accidentally. But through no work on our end whatsoever ever, is now able
- 1:23to hear us. So yeah, for us, we we all did it.
- 1:26Go team. So if nothing else we've accomplished that today we can back.
- 1:33Yeah. And all we did was just wait and all of a sudden
- 1:34it just started working out of nowhere. So you know what, Sometimes patients
- 1:38pays off, and in the case of this week, there has been no
- 1:42patients. Because this makes day five in a row. Yes, in a
- 1:48row of Treehouse episodes falling out of the Treehouse this week, and that will
- 1:53culminate in a sixth day, not in a row. Just as you know,
- 1:57on Monday day after the super Bowl, we would normally have an episode,
- 2:01but we're really going to have an episode on Monday. That Monday episode
- 2:06is going to be live, and I'm still crossing my fingers. Yeah,
- 2:13yeah, even for no other reason if you like to see a train wreck,
- 2:16Yes, that in and of itself, because we're not sure what we're
- 2:21doing. Welcome to my marketing mind. That is integral. That is essential
- 2:27to the message that I will be pushing all weekend for the episode on Monday,
- 2:32which is it might be great. It might be an absolute train wreck,
- 2:38but you'll get to see it live and that'll be That'll be fun in
- 2:42and of itself. So I'm looking forward to it. Now, go ahead
- 2:46of you. I was gonna ask you if this is a medication issue or
- 2:51the reason for the frenetic pace that you've suddenly embraced. You know, it
- 2:57was a it's sort of in a something special to do the multiple days in
- 3:02a row, And I'd like to mention Alexander Financial Management. They are partially
- 3:10responsible because they gave us a little bit of money and so we decided to
- 3:15run their spots all week in exchange for that. And so basically it boils
- 3:21down to we can and we got paid to. So also shout out to
- 3:25cook DFW Roofing and Restoration, the Dallas Comedy Club, which is sponsoring this
- 3:30here segment where Raj will be tonight and tomorrow, which is fun to say.
- 3:36This is part of the reason we get to do whatever. The main
- 3:38reason why we wanted to go five days a week this week is to sort
- 3:42of tap into a little bit of that energy leading up to the super Bowl,
- 3:46and also because I have a lot of content for the last few weeks
- 3:51that has been piling up and I didn't want it all to go to waste.
- 3:54And Trey said, well, why don't we just do a show every
- 3:58day of the week. And I was like, well, well, okay,
- 4:02okay, that's a reasonable Yeah, I was here. It was a
- 4:08lack of medication, or maybe too much that that would have been an interesting
- 4:11story too. Well, it was coming off of a severe car accident,
- 4:15and he does have medical professionals pushing drugs on him harder than a former show
- 4:21Doctor of Ours. And uh, I, honest to God, don't know
- 4:26if he's been taking them or not, because I'm also used to people on
- 4:29this show saying they're not doing things when in fact they are. No,
- 4:31I don't. I'm not a I'm not a I'm not a pill guy,
- 4:35not a big fan. I don't take Adville for headaches. So like,
- 4:40I just I'll just I just yeah, I know, I'd just rather take
- 4:43a nap. It's just easier. So I got I got a bad enough
- 4:46headache. I cannot sleep really mm hmm. I remember I was telling my
- 4:54girlfriend this. I remember when I was a kid or in India, and
- 4:58this is how you know to hear throws medication at you. In India,
- 5:01I was running. I had a headache and I was running a fever and
- 5:04my mom, being a nurse, took me to the doctor that was directly
- 5:08across the street from my uncle's house. And she goes, uh, he's
- 5:13got a fever in a headache, and goes okay, and my mom is
- 5:15gonna give him something, goes yes, advice go to sleep, And that
- 5:19was it. That was all he gave me. There was no there was
- 5:21no medicine. There was no here's a pill, here's ibuprofen. Nothing.
- 5:27He was like, just come, just go to sleep, and you did.
- 5:30I slept. I slept for a couple of hours, woke up.
- 5:31You still get charged for that office visit because that doesn't seem very doctory to
- 5:35me. Uh No, I mean there's the last The last time was in
- 5:40India. I had a uh parasite, uh the thing that happened, and
- 5:46that doctor was tell me to take a nap for that too. No,
- 5:48they actually gave me. They gave me medicine because I was fixing. Uh,
- 5:53they gave me coming out both ends and you're in the tub looking like
- 5:58this sts uh, they give me. But the doctor's visit was a whopping
- 6:02one dollar US so that I got a what year was I came two thousand
- 6:15and seventeen? Sorais his rates by now? Yeah, one one US dollar
- 6:24seventy five of theirs. Okay, okay, I gotta move really and really
- 6:30stretch the dollar out there. Yeah, of course like that. I mean,
- 6:36yeah, that's true. You walk in like your guts are hanging out
- 6:40thick a nap. But just in a severe car accident, I was run
- 6:46over by you know, a crazy Indian cab driver in the middle of Mumbai.
- 6:51Help me, help me. My guts are falling out, and this
- 6:54advice is taking nap. Can give me a dollar now I think I think
- 6:58your guts are hanging out. He can give you two til and and tell
- 7:03me not to drink after taking them. They take you to go home,
- 7:08you know, get some rest, drink plenty of fluids. And I drink
- 7:12the water and it just comes right out from inside of me, because it's
- 7:15all it's weird that you guys say that. As many times as I've been
- 7:18to Indian and gone and performed and just I've never seen a car accident with
- 7:25And if you look at like those crazy videos of how traffic is there,
- 7:29I've never seen seen them ever. So speaking of discounts, Everett, I
- 7:33don't know if you heard there was a there was a major disturbance in the
- 7:40forest this week because we learned that our very own trade Trendholme is now an
- 7:47official card carrying member of the National Association for the Advancement of Retired People card
- 8:00them for it used to be a ar P, but it kind of it
- 8:05like a lot of things when they come into the tree house, they get
- 8:07they get to put on the stupid cycle and when it comes out, it
- 8:11comes out two different organizations. Yeah, Trey, Trey is now a full
- 8:16card carrying member of a a r P. And he hasn't used it yet.
- 8:22He's saving it, I think for a special occasion, perhaps for a
- 8:24special lady. I'm wondering, do you have yours? Evert hell no?
- 8:35So this sold This solidifies my thinking. My thinking is there are two types
- 8:41of people in this world. There are the people that are going to embrace
- 8:43the a ar P card and and the status and the benefits that come with
- 8:48it, and those that will reject it. And we have one of each
- 8:52right now, Trey, you embrace, Everett you reject, which I'm surprised.
- 8:56Usually you're you're usually the way you guys go would be it would be
- 9:01the other way. Well, I mean, unless you're looking for a discount
- 9:05to get into the Senior Center. I mean I failed to seize the appeal.
- 9:09I know that they have a discount. Oh, here we go.
- 9:13You get prescription drug benefits, you get discounts on hotels, car rentals,
- 9:18like restaurants, you can you got a certain Asian restaurants. Uh, you
- 9:26know, I think it's PF Chain's and like five it's five dollars off of
- 9:31twenty five dollars order. You know what, I don't know about you guys,
- 9:33but I just recognized everything Trade just mentioned is his ideal first date.
- 9:39He's going to rent a car. He's gonna rent a car, is going
- 9:43to take you to PF chains and a hotel afterwards, and he's going to
- 9:46get a discount on all of it. Yeah. I he's going to be
- 9:50able to close the deal if he's whipping out his AARP card every time he
- 9:54pays for something. It's a very specific type that he'll have to go after
- 10:00that would actually be turned on by the discount status. I hate to tell
- 10:11you, but Everett's right. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. The
- 10:13next woman that you date with any sort of serious relationship, her name on
- 10:16the show will be Mema because if she's dating you, that means she's not
- 10:20only embracing you, she's embracing your AARP status. Now what if she brings
- 10:26her own AARP card, Do you guys get the Do you get like a
- 10:31double discount? How does it work? Yeah? I guess so or do
- 10:35they fight over who gets the points. Yeah. One of the biggest reasons
- 10:43I did it is because most golf courses will give you the senior discounts as
- 10:48Yeah. So, so how much this membership yearly? I think it's it's
- 10:56cheap. I mean it's ninety nine dollars for a year. I think,
- 11:01wow. And how long have you been a member? Oh? Of ten
- 11:05days? And you've never used it? I already used it, like so
- 11:11for instance, I uh, for prescription drugs I was paying for it's like
- 11:15good RX, like for their premium subscription. You know, prescription discounts.
- 11:22Don't need that anymore. Get that with my ARP and it actually gets a
- 11:28better eight, So that alone makes it worth it. So you are using
- 11:33it? Yes, I heard you weren't using it? I said, no,
- 11:37I used it for at my pharmacy and I haven't whipped it out to
- 11:39get a discount. That was actually my bad. I assumed he hadn't used
- 11:43it yet. I didn't realize that he was already using it on prescription drugs,
- 11:48which also would be a fun a fun mix on a first date.
- 11:50Are you hiding your usage? No? You know how to shame No.
- 11:58When you went to the pharmacy. Did you did you kick up on the
- 12:01front door, like like it's an old West saloon and hold up your AARP
- 12:05card and go look look what I got. She was like, oh,
- 12:07it'll be this much. I said, oh, hey, I forgot,
- 12:09I got I have this And it's like, wow, can tell me what
- 12:13how much it is under this plan? And they're like it's like two dollars
- 12:16less. I'm like, all right, did they look at did she look
- 12:18at you and go ooh oh my, as if it was like a like
- 12:22like a black MX card. Yeah, yeah, like, oh, he's
- 12:30not Indian. This is just watching you guys talk about discounts for the last
- 12:35ten minutes. It's been such a great joy for me because I'm like,
- 12:39this is the most Indian conversation I've watched three white people have. Yeah,
- 12:45but Raj, you've got You've got Everard who's rejecting the AARP card. He
- 12:48is like, I'm not I'm not a member. I'm not doing it now.
- 12:52Is that is that purely based on financial reasoning or is it more of
- 12:56an emotional because if you have one, then that means you're admit that you're
- 13:00old. That's the latter is part of it. Another part of it is
- 13:05the relentlessness with which they pursue you once you turn fifty. I mean I
- 13:09don't want to know. That's because they know you've slowed down. Yeah,
- 13:16because once you show any interest, that means they know that you have slowed
- 13:20down enough to where they think they can get you. And they probably can.
- 13:24Oh yeah, this car. A lot of old people's out in front
- 13:26of your house wall, even these application forms, I mean Treino's. He
- 13:30said, I beat him to the punch. I was like, you know,
- 13:37went ahead and did it so like they can just drive on bio and
- 13:41just put my little my sticker on out front and don't know cars be in
- 13:46one of the cars because now you're in. Yeah, you're in. Now
- 13:50you're in. You made it too easy on them, trays like you didn't
- 13:52even try to run and slow down to where they could get you and and
- 13:54make it interesting. You basically just you went to their house and said,
- 13:58gimme. You noticed that he's already subtly trying to sell it on us.
- 14:03I mean, you guys aren't eligible yet, but you will be getting cloetting
- 14:09close. I don't know why you guys, so they dropped it this year,
- 14:13they've changed it. Any age can now apply for ARP like they've changed
- 14:18it. Yeah, you can look it up. They changed But a lot
- 14:22of the benefits you that you're not eligible for until you get to a certain
- 14:26age. So what will be the point of having it if you can't get
- 14:30any of the benefits is just to be able to say, look at my
- 14:31card that I don't get any use out of. I just I have it.
- 14:41There's the there's the reveal. You have an RP card. I have
- 14:46AARP and I've had it for the last five months. I was really hoping
- 14:52you were going to say the last five years. Damn, this is a
- 14:56this is a coordinated effort look out. It's starting to feel like it.
- 15:00And and this makes me even happier now that I have Everett, my attorney
- 15:03in my presence, to keep an eye out for me. You don't want
- 15:09to go down this path. I think I know that that that's that's who
- 15:13who you're trusting. Now, how men owl's you got, That's none of
- 15:20your business. Number two, Hey you get I think you get a discount
- 15:26at hardware store. So maybe you know you can take some bird house building
- 15:31classes. I've got an owl house built by a professional. It's not my
- 15:35fault that they're extinct, the professionals or the owls both. Well, if
- 15:43the owls are extinct, then there's no reason to have an owl house building
- 15:46expert. So I'm sure they they went on to do other things like maybe
- 15:50drive for Uber. I'm hoping to house an outlier. But Everett, I'm
- 15:56with you here. It's starting to be apparent to me since Trey is a
- 16:00new card carrying member of AARP, Raj has just admitted to us that he's
- 16:04been a card carrying AARP member for five months. It is starting to feel
- 16:11like a coordinated effort to get us to also join. And now I'm wondering
- 16:15if AARP is missing, like an additional letter A for army. Raj.
- 16:23I'm just I'm just proud of you for coming out of that the elderly closet.
- 16:30It's it's there's no age restructure now. So it was offered and I
- 16:34was like, you know what, they have really good roadside assistance. I
- 16:40travel a lot, so I don't know why Dumbledore is laughing not effort.
- 16:51So apparently not only not only are Rag and Trey old, but just like
- 16:55a pair of old men. They're surly. Yeah, I'm kidding. I'm
- 16:59just waiting for an owl to just swoop and just land on your shoulder like
- 17:02that would be the greatest moment. And that may actually be the reason why
- 17:04Everett has gone long hair, long beard? Is that what it is?
- 17:08Ever? You're trying to attract owls to your person. Yes, you're a
- 17:12spot on dan, Thank you, welcome. I just want him to turn
- 17:21the camera and there just be owls just like just staring. I bought this,
- 17:27I got this great owl house and no owls. You have an owl
- 17:32house. I guess you should. Yeah, say that's the problem. So
- 17:38Raj, you're thinking that Everett looks like a mythical creature from Harry Potter,
- 17:45Whereas yes, he's he's been on the hunt for owls. He had an
- 17:51owl house. He wanted owls to come live in his owl house and they
- 17:53refuse. He even has an owl cam. Wow, well it's not quite
- 18:03an OL cam yet they have actually been an owl I think, Yeah,
- 18:07I think right now is just a backyard camera. It's an owl house cam.
- 18:11Yes, exactly, a little vacancy sign. Got a great shot of
- 18:18some sawdust. Yeah, this is what happened. This is what happens when
- 18:21white people have too much money. This is exactly what happened. You know
- 18:26what. I actually helped Everett find that house. And you're not wrong when
- 18:38white people should be a show when white people have too much money, and
- 18:41it's just ever zone the Owl House being built. They already did. It
- 18:47was the Rich and Famous. I think it was just h g TV.
- 18:52Yeah that's not a show, that's just the whole network and starring next week
- 19:00on Owl House Nation Chip and you go in a Gains figured out that a
- 19:03long time ago, I was gonna be a pair of owl silos along with
- 19:17a store and a bakery, probably a school. It's pretty much a cult
- 19:22now, right. Oh yeah, like that's people. But there's been no
- 19:30sighting trip you go to Magnolia whatever. Yeah, but there's been no sightings
- 19:34of owls at your at your at your home. No, no, yeah,
- 19:41you're they do not exist. I do not have them. Very white
- 19:47angry. Why is it gonna be all racist? Man? I'm not sitting
- 19:52here calling you an Indian because I have never I've never seen a black person
- 19:56be like, man, you know what happened last week? No, owls
- 19:59like that's never that's just because you haven't seen it, Raj, doesn't mean
- 20:03it doesn't exist. And that's also kind of how Everett is living. He's
- 20:08he's you know, teetering on you know, the brink of you know,
- 20:12are there actually owls or is you know, truly of the mindset that they're
- 20:17extinct? And I like to think he's holding out a shred of hope.
- 20:19Maybe these black people are just hiding it from you, like you've been hiding
- 20:22your artmiss for the past five months. Hey, that actually sounds like something
- 20:30you contract. You're listening to The Treehouse. Visit us online That Treehouse on
- 20:49air dot com this week at the Dallas Comedy Club and Deep Elm. You've
- 20:59seen him on FX, Comedy Central and NBC's Last Comic Standing, where he
- 21:03was runner up in a field of over one thousand comedians. It's Lachlan Patterson.
- 21:07Man. I love football. Wish it was there on that day when
- 21:10they're trying to figure out how to start the game. That's an interesting rule
- 21:12that probably the quarterback in the center figured that one out just staring at the
- 21:15ball, all right, pretty much ready to go. How do you want
- 21:18to start? This game. I tell you, why, why don't you
- 21:21just hand me that ball through your butt and we'll get going. Excuse me,
- 21:26just give me that ball through your button and we'll play football. Well,
- 21:29this seems ridiculous. I mean, for one thing, I can't even
- 21:32see you facing the exact opposite way. How will I know when to give
- 21:36it to you? Tell you what I'll do. I'll get right behind you
- 21:38and I'll gently rest my hands in between your legs, and when I want
- 21:44the ball, just tap you on the nuts a couple of times, will
- 21:45you? That's Lachlan Patterson this Friday and Saturday, February ninth and tenth at

- 22:03to our friends from Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. Today, our special guest
- 22:08is Carrie Cook. The brawn, the muscle, and the brains and the
- 22:14beauty. Well, she's the whole package at COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration. Daniel's
- 22:18just kind of a figurehead. You're the one that gets it all done.
- 22:21Right. Yeah, that's exactly right. Good, we're all on the same
- 22:23page. I don't know about him, but you and I definitely are.
- 22:26Definitely. I'm curious if you are going to put any money on the big
- 22:30game on Sunday or are you just gonna sit back and enjoy the commercials both.
- 22:36I'm playing squares all right. I'n't put any money on the game though,
- 22:40but then absolutely commercials, love them. The squares is a good kind
- 22:42of dip your toe into the gambling world without really gambling, you know,
- 22:47because it's not like you're calling up a bookie or you're you know, trying
- 22:49to call somebody in Vegas to place a bet for in your entire future and
- 22:55life is riding on the game and the outcome. So the squares thing is
- 22:57a fun way to go. But just emotionally, who's your team in the
- 23:00game this weekend? Cheez without a doubt? Well? Good. I hope
- 23:04you, uh, I hope your squares come in, and I hope you
- 23:07enjoy all the commercials and enjoy the game. And if you get too rowdy
- 23:11at your Super Bowl party, know that you need to call Kerry Cook from
- 23:15COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration, because if you throw the TV through the roof or
- 23:18the ceiling or into the bathroom or something, you need some work done.
- 23:22They're the ones to call a three to three Cook DFW. That's eight three
- 23:26three COOKDFW or cookdfw dot com. You're in the tree House, visit us

- 24:30Dallas Dashcomedy Club dot com. That's Dallas Dash Comedy Club dot com.
- 24:36And uh, you can also give them a call ROJ one four eight one
- 24:41four nineteen eighty. So thank you to them, and also another thank you
- 24:45for helping make the five days a week possible to Alexander Financial Management if we
- 24:52all need, you know, help on that front, and some of us
- 24:56need more expert help than most because we don't follow those things as closely as
- 25:00other people do. So it's smart to have someone in your corner to help
- 25:04you do that. And Alexander Financial has been in business for like thirty years
- 25:10and they have a special place in their heart for our first responders. So
- 25:17our old buddy in pal Steve Rutherford now formerly Farmers Branch Police Department because he
- 25:25retired, but he is working with Alexander Financial Management and he's going around to
- 25:30different departments in Texas saying, hey, you need some help with your financial
- 25:34planning. These are the guys to do it for you. They've got retired
- 25:37police and fire that work there and they've helped people that the Foundation has helped
- 25:45in the past with their finances, so we figure, if it's good enough
- 25:49for the popo and the firefighters, good enough for us, good enough for
- 25:53you right here inside the treehouse. You can find him on Facebook, Alexander
- 25:56Financial Management, the website alex FM dot com. Everett you are And I'm
- 26:04not trying to kiss your ass here. I just it's it's true. You
- 26:08are, in fact, one of the smartest people that I know. And
- 26:14I was curious because the other day we heard about this thirteen year old kid
- 26:18from Oklahoma that beat Tetris in thirty eight minutes. So my question for you
- 26:27is a two parter. One have you ever played Tetris? And two did
- 26:33you beat it? No? And no? Okay, Well that that makes
- 26:37that simple. Raj is of the belief that this kid is somehow fake.
- 26:42It's not real, because there's no way a thirteen year old kid from Oklahoma
- 26:48beat Tetris that wasn't Asian. Why does that? Why does that? Everything's
- 26:57I swear everything's racist. It's and the Asians and the Indians. Come on,
- 27:03man, I'm just saying he didn't beat the game. He crashed the
- 27:11system, so it ended because he overloaded the system in thirty eight minutes.
- 27:17That's what happened. He didn't beat Tetris. Okay, then, so if
- 27:21this, if this child from Oklahoma had been Asian, let's say specifically Indian,
- 27:30sure, would you then have said that he beat the game? Or
- 27:34would you still be saying one, he beat the game? Now? What
- 27:45if he was Pakistani? That no, that crashed the system, crashed the
- 27:49system? Only Indian? Okay, it's only it's not a spelling bee,
- 27:53Roger. See now, who's being racist? Ever? Yeah, it's more
- 27:59fun over here. Ever, come on, the water's murky, the waters
- 28:06brown, get in and that's how Roger got that parasite. I will say
- 28:15this though, Yeah, I would actually, I would actually say this.
- 28:18There's there. You know how people will watch celebrities do pretty much anything.
- 28:23I'll give you. I'll give you know some great examples. The Kardashians.
- 28:26They don't really do anything, but millions of people have watched them. Uh,
- 28:30they haven't really done anything since Kim did Rage, and everything since then
- 28:37has just been sort of existing with a camera in front of them. They
- 28:42seem to have ruined a lot of men's lives. Yes, that is correct.
- 28:49You know Kim Kardashians an attorney now, like she is a lawyer,
- 28:56like the pass the bar. I think she went to law school. I
- 29:00think I thought she passed the bar. I thought so. I was like,
- 29:04I wanted to ask about that, like, yeah, what your feelings
- 29:10were about about that? Well, I have none. It's it's just I
- 29:19don't think everyone's worried about it because he's not going to run into her at
- 29:23the Dallas County Court. Yeah, that'd be weird. Yeah, more power
- 29:29tour. I mean, I think it's great if that's what she wants to
- 29:30do. So anyway, it's very clear that that we as a massive people
- 29:37will watch celebrities do pretty much anything. The Kardashians obviously. Uh like the
- 29:44most successful podcasts what we do here are done by famous people, not and
- 29:48their their podcasts are successful not necessarily because the podcast is great, it's because
- 29:53they're famous. We'll watch We'll watch famous people do pretty much anything. Circus
- 30:02of the Stars comes to mind. I love that growing up as a kid.
- 30:03Oh yeah, that was great. Dancing with the stars today, you
- 30:08know, that's that's still a thing. We want to see famous people do
- 30:11stuff. I want to see famous people play tetras Okay Kim Kardashian update,
- 30:21Oh, she has not passed the bar and in fact it's not going to
- 30:25law school. Apparently, California has an apprenticeship program that allows you to work
- 30:29for a law firm and study for the bar. Texas actually did many many
- 30:33years ago, they did away with it, But in California you don't have
- 30:37to apparently go to law school. You can work at a law firm and
- 30:45if you can pass the bar, then you're a lawyer. The tricky part
- 30:48is, though, from what I recall, their their bar pass rate is
- 30:49very low, and I think that's in part because you don't have to go
- 30:53to law school to take the bar. This is this is very eye opening.
- 30:59Slash mean to me that in the state of California you can just go
- 31:03be a lawyer without any real registration. Yeah, well you've got to pass
- 31:07the bar. That's the tricky part. There are a number of unaccredited law
- 31:11schools in California because you don't have to go to an accredited law school to
- 31:15take the bar. I knew there was I knew there was a state,
- 31:19and not to be stereotypical, I honestly thought it was West Virginia that had
- 31:23that same thing where you didn't actually have to go to law school, but
- 31:27if you could pass the bar and show some kind of apprenticeship that you could
- 31:32actually become an attorney. But you thought West Virginia like that was I know
- 31:38there's a state on the east coast that has a similar deal. I did
- 31:42not. I did not know California was like that. That seems odd for
- 31:48that state. It's basically a tooth count in West Virginia, so that the
- 32:00IQ and the teeth are Commensurate's sixteen or more and you're in the teeth or
- 32:09not the IQ right, yes, yes, although there is an intersection at
- 32:15some point of those two lines six sixteen teeth and three branches on your family
- 32:21tree. And you're a oh god, okay, sorry, I am I
- 32:30actually, I am serious. I would Actually, it might it might push
- 32:34the limits of what we'd be willing to watch celebrities do. But I'd watch
- 32:37some famous people play tetris. I'll give you a really strong example that I
- 32:42think would be fun that people would tune in for. I think I think
- 32:45people would watch Christopher Walking play tetris. I mean, I've watched Christopher Walking
- 32:51cook chicken before, so trust me, I'll watch him do damn near anything?
- 32:55Dan. Yeah, yes, hey guys doing or are we close enough
- 33:02now? Or we can actually call you Chris? Yeah, you called me
- 33:07chicken shoes for years? Tetris? Can I watch you play Tetris? I
- 33:14beat the game, Dan, I beat you did? Wait thirty six minutes?
- 33:20Thirty six minutes, that's right, two minutes faster than that kid from
- 33:23Oklahoma? Yeah? Are you Asian? Asian? Christopher Walking would be the
- 33:31greatest thing I've ever seen in my life. If you can actually pull that
- 33:35off, you you could retire. I would just love like it's the game,
- 33:39Dan, the T too small, the Z too big, that's just
- 33:45the letters in the game. But I would I would like to watch Luke
- 33:52Bryant. Huh, I would like to when you do? Or Christopher Walking
- 33:57does chph Walking wants to see Luke Bryan Why Datris h? I'm Luke Bryani
- 34:10Okay, I'm ready? Are you playing? You want me to do?
- 34:16What? Play? The game? Is that the one with the moving blocks?
- 34:23That is blocks, squares, all of it? Now? You don't
- 34:28want me doing that? I'm I'm not good at that. I'm not good
- 34:30at putting blocks in places. I'm good at putting my truck in a pond.
- 34:34I did that one that fit I think. I think actually one of
- 34:45the one of the one of the vagrants that I that I took, I
- 34:49think he was he was a gamer uh, and I took it upon myself
- 34:54to change his gamer tag to dead because you see Roj, I don't.
- 35:02I don't have time for video games because I'm an international country rock star with
- 35:08magical the most magical hips since Elvis. I don't have time. Yeah,
- 35:16I don't have time for video games. I'm too busy playing the ultimate game.
- 35:22One is the old Hunting People. I think that's called Murder Tomato Tomorrow
- 35:38on my ranch. It's hunting on your ranch. You could call it whatever
- 35:46you want. He's called the Hunger Games. That was last year's theme.
- 35:57Uh. This year, it's gonna be full and Slow. That's also the
- 36:05name of your new album. Yeah, my life is full of double loan.
- 36:17Anyone else want to throw in their impersonation to play Tetris. If I
- 36:23still drank, I'd do a mean Michael J. Fox And the best part
- 36:30about Tray's Michael J. Foxes he wouldn't have to say a word. You're

- 37:31and they had gotten a quote from a competitor, not sure who it
- 37:35was, and we came in about two thousand dollars less than our competitor,
- 37:39and so while we were fixing their sewer leak, we actually installed a water
- 37:44heater. I'm rounding up, but it was approximately two thousand dollars saved with

- 39:52just in an interview, Yes, I watched some of it Yesterday's Uh he's
- 39:59celebrating thirty years of sobriety. So he has been clean and sober. Yeah,
- 40:04clean sober for for thirty years. That's impressive. I mean, you
- 40:07gotta let's I have I think we're all thinking the same thing. So I'm
- 40:14just gonna go ahead and ask it is is he sober by choice? Or
- 40:24or or or is it because can't can't uh get Yeah, he couldn't keep
- 40:35the booze in the glass? Yeah, thank you drank. I didn't want
- 40:39to fully say it. So it's hard to get drunk on an ice cube.
- 40:50I like how that stayed in the glass. That's that's one of the
- 40:53big ones. Is Yeah, but at least someone we want advocating for sobriety.
- 41:02What do you mean? This is how healthy you can be? If
- 41:07that's right, you can have this, you would stop drinking. You you
- 41:15could be just like me. I can. I can see how that might
- 41:22put off a couple of folks. But apparently apparently, I mean, I
- 41:24give him credit for this. Apparently raging who knew this, Marty McFly raging
- 41:31alcoholic back in the day, Like that was like that was his thing,
- 41:36Like he that's how he figured out the Parkinson's is he had gone out.
- 41:42That's how he figured out the Parkinson's or that's how he got the Parkinson's.
- 41:45No no, so that could be both. But he went out. It
- 41:49was Doc Hollywood. He went out drinking with Woody Harrelson and they got so
- 41:52hammered in the morning. He was so hung over he thought there was a
- 41:54butterfly on his face and it was his hand. And that's how he discovered
- 42:00because so hungover, his hand was on his face, and his involuntary movements
- 42:08of his hand is what se Now in this scenario, I feel like the
- 42:13alcoholic inside of me is coming out because I feel like maybe he was giving
- 42:17the alcohol too much credit when in reality, maybe what he should have stopped
- 42:22was hanging out with Woody Arrels. I forally just get high, but apparently
- 42:30Fox was like apparently could put down a lot about for his height and his
- 42:37weight and all that, like drink you under the table like that was what
- 42:40he That was his game. Uh, and it would still show up to
- 42:44a Well that's not fair because he could just walk under the table. That
- 42:52game's rigged. Yeah. I was really just watching the interview, like I
- 42:57was impressed with like the amount of alcohol he was like two bottles of wine
- 43:01before dinner kind of guy like that's not including what he'd drink during dinner after,
- 43:07but two bottles of wine is what he would before he sat down for
- 43:12I knew someone like that once. How they doing not so good? If
- 43:28I'm being honest? All right? Today is Fred Day? Actual Friday,
- 43:37February ninth, twenty twenty four Earth days today. Hell, yes, we've
- 43:43got Michael B. Jordan turns thirty seven days, the star of the Creed
- 43:47franchise. He was also Killmonger in Black Panther and the MCU. Very talented
- 43:52actor. He is thirty seven today. Tom Hittleston, also of the Marvel
- 43:59Cinematic Unit, he is Loki. He is forty three today, and some
- 44:04people don't know still that he originally auditioned for the role of Thor, which,
- 44:09knowing what we know about Thor now, seems kind of weird because you
- 44:13have to be huge and muscular to play Thor and Tom Hindleston is a lanky
- 44:17guy, but he's also extremely talented actor. And MTU has taken a lot
- 44:23of hits recently. But the Loki series, that's really really good. That's
- 44:29good stuff, Okay, Raj. You'll be a fan of this actress,
- 44:34I guess just because she's Asian. Ziji zig Ziang is forty five. She
- 44:39is from Memoirs of a Gisha, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rush Hour
- 44:44Too, and House of Flying Daggers. Charlie Day from char from It's Always
- 44:50Sunny in Philadelphia. He is forty eight today. Also plays Benny in the
- 44:53Lego movies. We've also got Jim J. Bullock is sixty nine today,
- 45:01What Squares Hollywood Squares and Too Close for Comfort Star Jim J. Bullock is
- 45:08sixty nine today. Yeah, he's It's truly amazing how many people are left
- 45:15on this planet that are, you know, really essential to society and Jim
- 45:21J. Bullock is just hanging in there. Yeah, he's again a very
- 45:25interesting read. When it comes to the Jim J. Bullock, he arrested
- 45:31multiple This is before TMZ, so they got away with it, but arrested
- 45:36multiple times for his his love of the booze and drugs. I'm noticing a
- 45:42theme, and I think Everett's thinking he's getting He's got a couple of leads
- 45:45here for his law clients. Speaking of which, if you're on the same
- 45:51page, as Michael J. Fox was or Jim J. Bullock might still
- 45:55be, I don't know, or the path of others that have ended so
- 46:00terribly and you've found yourself in Dutch with the law. Then you call Berloff
- 46:04and Newton. It's Dallas, Yes, Tom, Yes you do, it's
- 46:08Dallas Attorney dot com. They will well, I can't say the first that
- 46:14thought to my head, but they will represent you. How about that thought
- 46:20that they'd get you off? Oh, and you can't promise that because you
- 46:24can't and also because it sounded dirty and you don't know that. No,
- 46:29No, I don't want anyone going into your office and expecting one thing and
- 46:32not getting it. The Jim J. Bullock was arrested in nineteen ninety nine
- 46:38outside of a bar in West Hollywood for crystal meth. Yes that's a good
- 46:45one. Good on him. Yeah, he gets the he gets the middle
- 46:50square. Yeah, aren't they bringing back Hollywood squares? Yes, they need
- 46:57to bring he needs to be the center square. And then if they and
- 47:00if they don't have shadows Stevens, I'm not watching. Yeah, I don't.
- 47:05I don't think. I don't know what that guy did for a living,
- 47:07like I don't know whose shadows Stephens. He was a voiceover guy.
- 47:09Oh he was. He was actually mister movie Phone before mister movie Phone.
- 47:14Really like that was he was one of the big voice guys. Oh gotcha?
- 47:19Okay, because he I mean again, phenomenal voice, but I just
- 47:21didn't know what he did for a living, Like he was just there and
- 47:23he had the most phenomenal hair of anybody in the I mean the eighties and
- 47:28nineties. That's the hair you wanted. Oh yeah, between him and was
- 47:34it Adam Curry on MTV? Oh yeah, yeah, that big the luscious
- 47:38locks. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the that's the hair that
- 47:43you wanted. That's actually whatever it looks like when he gets dressed up for
- 47:46date night. Oh yeah, absolutely, just a big hair. Go ahead,
- 47:54No, no, go ahead. I was just gonna sort of throw
- 47:59out there. I wonder what Jim J. Bullock's daily life is like.
- 48:01You know, here's a guy who was a star at one point, and
- 48:05you know, he went down whatever path he's on, and I mean,
- 48:07you know what's he doing right now? I mean you never wonder about that,
- 48:10you know, Glory Hole. Have you seen too close for comfort?
- 48:22In Syndication whincidentally, that's the name of the bathroom stall. You could just
- 48:35call it was Hollywood. Yeah. I never think, like, I wonder
- 48:44what that guy's doing today? And Jim K. Bullock, if you just
- 48:47randomly, if you would, hey, what do you think he's doing today?
- 48:50I'm like, dudes, you but I mean he's still hanging around Hollywood
- 48:55as he waited for his next big break. Or I mean live and do
- 49:04mass. I mean, for God's sake, there's Arkansas. Yeah, you
- 49:08go to Hot Springs, live a lot more cheaply. Yeah, all right,
- 49:15we've got that too close for comfort. Money And finally, celebrating a
- 49:23birthday today, Joe Peshi turns eighty one, star of films like Goodfellas,
- 49:30Casino, Home Alone, Home Alone Too, so many great movies. My
- 49:36question to you, gentlemen, is this, uh, in celebration of Joe
- 49:39Peshi's birthday today, what is your favorite Joe Peshi movie? There are,
- 49:45Like I said, there are a number to choose from some of his Some
- 49:49of his biggest hits include things like Where Did It Go? Man on Fire?
- 49:54He was in that back in nineteen eighty seven. He was also in
- 49:59Lethal Up in two three and four, Home Alone, Goodfellas and this is
- 50:04kind of cool you talk about a showing range as an actor. Joe Peshi
- 50:07did Goodfellas and Home Alone in the same year. Yeah, I didn't see.
- 50:15I didn't see Goodfellas when it first came out because I don't know if
- 50:17I was allowed Home Alone I did, but I couldn't help but wonder that
- 50:22if what if it was Joe Peshi's character in Goodfellas was part of the Wet
- 50:27bandits and Home Alone Kevin might have turned out very differently. Favorite film,
- 50:36My cousin Vinnie. Oh, yeah, that's a good one. Yeah,
- 50:38I think I'm yeah, I think I'm with you on that one. Yeah,
- 50:45my cousin Vinnie. But I mean it is the classic. I mean
- 50:50you got to give him up for Casino was one of the best Pesci movies,
- 50:55Like he was, you know, I forget is it Raging Bull or
- 50:58Casino? Where Nero keeps asking Patty, did you f my wife? Casino?
- 51:05It is okay, ye, yes, yeah, But there's also he
- 51:07does a guest appearance in one of my favorite movies is a Bronx Tail.
- 51:12I don't know if you guys have seen that. Oh, yeah, so
- 51:15at the very end, like he does this very cool uh guest appearance at
- 51:19the end and he kind of steals the scene. It's really cool. Yeah
- 51:22it is. But you know what happened to the kid that played Jim J.
- 51:28Bullock. No, it was worse. He murdered. Yeah, he
- 51:35messed out and murdered. Well, the other kid, the other guy,
- 51:37he got the what is it called Everett, you'll know this one. Like
- 51:40he was there when the guy so I guess you get the same penalty.
- 51:44But he was there when the guy killed. Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 51:49I mean an accomplice maybe is what you're looking at for. They said they
- 51:52broke into this guy's house, they stole a bunch of his medication. As
- 51:55they were leaving, he jumps out the window. The other guy kills the
- 52:00But because he was present, what does that do, that's the same,
- 52:04Well, it's it's called the felony murder doctrine. Basically, if you're in
- 52:07with other people engaged in a criminal behavior that you know or should know could
- 52:13result in someone's death, and it does, then you're on the hook for
- 52:15the murder just as much as if you pull the trigger. There was even
- 52:20a case one time in which a man and a woman broke into a house
- 52:23and stole whatever they stole and escaped and were on the run, and the
- 52:28cops caught the man, or actually caught the woman first, had her handcuffed
- 52:34in the back of a police car, killed the man, and she was
- 52:37charged with his murder, even though he was her husband. Yes, Yes,
- 52:43because it's you know, that's the way the rule is applied. If
- 52:45you were involved in the commission of a felony that you should reasonably be able
- 52:51to foresee could result in someone dying, and someone dies, doesn't matter who,
- 52:54even if it's your husband, even if you didn't pull the trigger,
- 52:57even if that's the last person on earth you would want to die. It's
- 53:00a reason. Even if you're handcuffed in the back of the squad car and
- 53:02the gaps are the ones that shot him, you murdered him. Yes,
- 53:06God bless America. I'm moving to India. Here we go, Here we
- 53:15go, Everett. I have a legal question for you, and it's is
- 53:22there still kind of a I don't know if a doctrine is the right word,
- 53:25but jury nullification? Is that still like that was a thing for a
- 53:30while? Like is that still something that people think about. And I asked
- 53:34this because there's a case I think it's it's out of Houston where a guy
- 53:37basically he didn't think a child in Lester got punished enough, so we ended
- 53:42up killing him. And I'm curious whether they can go at the jury and
- 53:45go, yeah he did it, but look who he took out, and
- 53:51either hang a jury or not guilty. Well, it's a great question,
- 53:54and just for people who don't know dury. Nullification is basically when a jury
- 54:00returns a verdict of not guilty, not based on the fact that they think
- 54:04that the person is actually not guilty of the crime theracuse of having committed but
- 54:07because they think the law is a bad law, and they're basically passing judgment
- 54:13on the law. Speaking of passing judgment, thank you for looking at me
- 54:16when you said that, it's just it's involuntary. I didn't think you saw
- 54:24that. I was like, I was like, yeah, not only did
- 54:30I see it, I felt it right here. Yeah, it's totally involuntary.
- 54:34That's probably just habit from whoever's the host microphone? Heavy is the head
- 54:44that where's the crown? Dre TAM's gone, that's the wrong. But wow,
- 55:16I'm sorry every I don't think you got a chance to finish your answer.
- 55:20Yeah, d nullification is still a thing. It's been referred to as
- 55:23a civil right. There was actually a legal opinion written in which the justice
- 55:29who wrote the opinion referred to it as a civil right to which everyone is
- 55:32entitled, but that no one can be informed of. And to that end,
- 55:37you as a lawyer, can't can't argue jury nullification to a journey judge
- 55:43won't let you do that. But they're allowedly whatever they want to during deliberations.
- 55:47And so it was if someone passed a note inside the pizza box that
- 55:52they get for lunch, well, like who would be passing passing the note?
- 55:59I don't know. I've never been on a jury and on how that
- 56:00works. Yeah, like like someone from the public, they know they're getting
- 56:04food and they wanted they want the jury to know about this jury nullification thing.
- 56:07This note. Hey you should try this. Yeah, that's probably not
- 56:09a good thing either. Yeah, it's probably they just you just kind of
- 56:13need to know about it. You just kind of need to be able to
- 56:15go back there and say, you know what I mean, it comes up.
- 56:19It used to come up during as I said, slave days, you
- 56:22know when in the North people would get No, I'm not saying a racist
- 56:27thing like you typically do, Rach. I just thought it was weird that
- 56:31you smiled in slave days. No, no, no, I was he
- 56:37smiled because because that's actually from slave days. That's all he got June teenth.
- 56:40It's like, hey, you're free. But then when then we don't
- 56:43tell them for two years? Two years you can take the guy out of
- 56:46East Texas well, I feel I feel for harboring slaves or there were people
- 57:01charged that. You know, up in the North, no one cared that
- 57:07people were harboring slaves. I thought it was a good thing. So they
- 57:10would be found not guilty by means of jury nullification even know they were.
- 57:15You can do that. That's interesting, Okay, So you can convince a
- 57:17journey to just avoid the law. Yeah, you can't argue that, but
- 57:22they can go back and render any verdict they want. And it's you know,
- 57:27it's whatever, judge, we can't judge overturn that. No, absolutely
- 57:31not, that's it. No, no, no, this isn't India.
- 57:45All right. I'm really ending this show now because we have crossed over into
- 57:51the rare territory that we have learned something but also gotten dumber in the process.
- 58:00And I think this is a good a good place for us to end
