- 0:00Speaker 1: We are out of the gates on Sport and State.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Glad you're with us this morning. Happy Monday to you.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Across sportandstate.com, Sport and State Network, this is Huntley Withrow
- 0:09Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bet. We're at the Daily Wire
- 0:13Speaker 1: as well, all socials. Chad, good morning to you. Hope
- 0:16Speaker 1: the weekend was great, man.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Weekend was better for me than it was for the
- 0:19Speaker 2: Tennessee Titans, Hutton. I can assure you of that. And hey,
- 0:22Speaker 2: my daughter's softball team went 0-6 over the weekend in
- 0:25Speaker 2: their first time playing up against 12U competition, and it
- 0:29Speaker 2: was still far better of a performance and effort than
- 0:32Speaker 2: what we saw from the Tennessee Titans.
- 0:35Speaker 1: So they say Week 1 is a liar. I say they.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Most teams will say that. Most analysts will say that.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Because Week 1, even some of the worst coaches... that
- 0:45Speaker 1: we've seen. Ken Wisenhunt comes to mind for me with
- 0:48Speaker 1: the Tennessee Titans. He won both of his games with
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Titans in week one because you have all offseason
- 0:55Speaker 1: to prepare for an opponent, prepare a game plan, make
- 0:59Speaker 1: adjustments to something that you've shown on film that no
- 1:03Speaker 1: one's seen, right? You're doing something brand new that no
- 1:06Speaker 1: one's caught on tape on anything they've been able to
- 1:08Speaker 1: dig on you with. So just looking around the league,
- 1:12Speaker 1: we saw some upsets. We saw some bad teams from
- 1:15Speaker 1: last year win some games in week one.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I think what Hutton is getting to is what everyone
- 1:20Speaker 2: knows who watched that game for the Tennessee Titans. And
- 1:23Speaker 2: it's very simple. The Tennessee Titans, and we got Hutton
- 1:27Speaker 2: back now. Hutton, the Titans, you get a lot of
- 1:30Speaker 2: time to prepare to make an entrance, right? Like there's
- 1:33Speaker 2: a lot of talk. There's a lot of buildup. There's
- 1:35Speaker 2: a lot of preparation. And you watched that Titans game yesterday,
- 1:39Speaker 2: and it opened with a penalty, a kicking it out
- 1:42Speaker 2: of bounds. a timeout to avoid 12 men on the field,
- 1:45Speaker 2: and disaster from start to finish.
- 1:48Speaker 1: A total disaster. And think about the teams last year, Chad.
- 1:52Speaker 1: The Raiders won in week one. Giants get a win.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Jets get a win. Titans loss. And it's the same
- 2:00Speaker 1: old thing. It starts with Cam Ward. It starts with
- 2:03Speaker 1: the lack of energy from the game. And every time
- 2:05Speaker 1: we looked up at the event yesterday at Hard Rock
- 2:07Speaker 1: Bet down in Miami, they were getting their asses kicked.
- 2:11Speaker 1: This was.
- 2:13Speaker 1: No gas, all break in week one for the Titans.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And it will continue to be because we've seen this
- 2:21Speaker 1: play out before with this organization. They went from all
- 2:24Speaker 1: of the all gas, no break to starting to slow
- 2:27Speaker 1: their roll a bit and say, by the middle of
- 2:29Speaker 1: the year, we're going to get better. We'll look at
- 2:31Speaker 1: how we improve as we get to December. That's not
- 2:33Speaker 1: what this is about. You're playing the Jets, the New
- 2:36Speaker 1: York Jets. And Chad, it was the same Cam Ward.
- 2:41Speaker 1: who can't complete a pass that we saw him not,
- 2:43Speaker 1: he was unable to do that in San Francisco. And
- 2:46Speaker 1: it was just preseason, just preseason, that the backups were
- 2:49Speaker 1: winning in the preseason against the Titans. That was just preseason, though.
- 2:54Speaker 1: It played out against the Jets starters, against Geno Smith, who,
- 2:59Speaker 1: you know, we don't know, what was a nearly 12-minute
- 3:01Speaker 1: drive at one point, 19 plays. That's the only thing
- 3:06Speaker 1: that helped the Titans offense, because they didn't have to
- 3:07Speaker 1: go three and out again.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I mean, where to begin? I like to use analogies,
- 3:14Speaker 2: real-life analogies, to try to explain a situation or a team.
- 3:18Speaker 2: The Titans are a little boy that put on their
- 3:22Speaker 2: father's sports coat and pretend that they're going off to
- 3:25Speaker 2: work every day and that they're the CEO of their company.
- 3:29Speaker 2: That sums up the entire pathetic organization. They're all role-playing
- 3:35Speaker 2: like they're professionals.
- 3:36Speaker 1: J.C.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Latham is role-playing before the season starts like he's a
- 3:40Speaker 2: badass offensive tackle. He's nothing. Cam Ward role-plays like he's
- 3:45Speaker 2: a professional starting franchise quarterback. He's not. He's not even accountable.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Once again, he had a chance to say, I ass,
- 3:52Speaker 2: and instead he said, receiver's ass in his response to it.
- 3:56Speaker 2: We're going to get to that here soon. He's not accountable.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I take back what I said about him being accountable.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He does not appear to be accountable. He's now looking
- 4:04Speaker 2: to roll someone else under the bus for his repeated
- 4:07Speaker 2: bad performances. Robert Sala is going to talk about identity
- 4:12Speaker 2: and what they are, and he's going to walk into
- 4:13Speaker 2: a press room and explain why someone had their credential
- 4:16Speaker 2: removed before the season starts for daring to criticize a
- 4:18Speaker 2: franchise that repeatedly picks top 10 and somehow is the
- 4:22Speaker 2: one team in the NFL that can't improve. after getting
- 4:26Speaker 2: top picks year after year. We joked for years, Hutton,
- 4:29Speaker 2: about the Jacksonville Jaguars organization, how if you draft one
- 4:33Speaker 2: or two every year, eventually you're going to have a
- 4:35Speaker 2: good roster, even if your organization, your coaching wasn't up
- 4:39Speaker 2: to par. Eventually you back your way in to having
- 4:44Speaker 2: undeniable players at certain positions that you win games and
- 4:48Speaker 2: you threaten for the playoffs. I watched that Titans performance yesterday.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Every single person in that organization should be embarrassed. They
- 4:55Speaker 2: should be embarrassed about the tickets sold to the game.
- 4:58Speaker 2: They should be embarrassed about what I saw, the pregame
- 5:00Speaker 2: presentation of the team. The players and coaches should certainly
- 5:04Speaker 2: be embarrassed. If you went and sat in 100-degree heat,
- 5:07Speaker 2: as bad as it was in Nashville yesterday, and watched that,
- 5:10Speaker 2: I pity you.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I pity those who went to that game. This is
- 5:14Speaker 1: a broken organization. Chad, when you say how the players
- 5:18Speaker 1: were introduced, I was on the flight to Florida. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: didn't see this. What happened?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Oh, I'm just saying the pregame, they had some knockoff
- 5:26Speaker 2: country star on the field. I mean, just everybody was
- 5:29Speaker 2: cringeworthy throughout. Titans radio. I happen to listen. I'm on
- 5:34Speaker 2: my daughter's softball tournament watching on my phone throughout the
- 5:37Speaker 2: games there, but I'm driving home in the postgame, and
- 5:40Speaker 2: I'm hearing Taylor Zarzer deliver a pep talk like he's
- 5:42Speaker 2: Vince Lombardi.
- 5:44Speaker 1: To the team.
- 5:45Speaker 2: This is the floor. This is a talented group. This
- 5:48Speaker 2: is a young football team. It's only going to go up.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And I'm thinking, goodness gracious. I know that organization is
- 5:55Speaker 2: note-keeping on everyone and what they're saying and what's being
- 5:58Speaker 2: said about their team. And I'm sure they all feel
- 6:01Speaker 2: threatened that if they don't say the perfect thing, they're
- 6:03Speaker 2: going to get fired. But come on, man. Like, you can't.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You cannot condescend your audience that much. Everyone who's going
- 6:11Speaker 2: to call into a show or who's going to watch
- 6:13Speaker 2: that performance, if you're a Titans fan and you've been
- 6:16Speaker 2: around the NFL at all, you are pissed off for
- 6:18Speaker 2: greatness today. You're not sitting there thinking about, boy, I
- 6:22Speaker 2: tell you what, this team is going to turn the
- 6:24Speaker 2: corner any second. No, my first thought watching that, Hunt,
- 6:27Speaker 2: was you had a season where you added players, you
- 6:31Speaker 2: added coaches, and this was your debut to show a
- 6:34Speaker 2: functional operation. And instead, you've got two penalties to start
- 6:39Speaker 2: the game. You've got one player running into your all-pro,
- 6:43Speaker 2: by the way, return man, at one point. He has
- 6:46Speaker 2: to go into concussion protocol. You put him back out
- 6:48Speaker 2: there and he fumbles the next. It is a clown show.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I can't say this strong enough. What we saw at
- 6:55Speaker 2: Nashville yesterday was a clown show.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Chet, it's beyond that because it's been the clown show.
- 7:03Speaker 1: You know, now it's just the entertainment show looking for
- 7:07Speaker 1: next year. I mean, I mentioned a couple weeks back,
- 7:10Speaker 1: I guess, now, they were going to get to this,
- 7:12Speaker 1: this is the floor, we're going to get better. They're
- 7:15Speaker 1: going to continue to say that. The fans aren't going
- 7:17Speaker 1: to buy into that. They didn't have 64,000 of the
- 7:20Speaker 1: attendance yesterday. 40% off tickets going to that. And how
- 7:25Speaker 1: many of those were green? Every time I'm just looking
- 7:27Speaker 1: at the TV camera angles, what is this organization going
- 7:31Speaker 1: to sell to fans this year? discounted tickets is what
- 7:34Speaker 1: they're going to sell. And they can't even sell those.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They can sell it to the opponent's fans that are
- 7:40Speaker 1: coming to Nashville for a quick vacation over the weekend.
- 7:43Speaker 1: But this was an opportunity, Chad, the opportunity for the
- 7:47Speaker 1: Tennessee Titans to have a winning record in season, to
- 7:50Speaker 1: hold a winning record for the first time since 2022.
- 7:55Speaker 1: And they couldn't do that. It has been a while.
- 7:59Speaker 1: And coaches, general managers, firings, new hirings, you can go
- 8:05Speaker 1: down the list. They can overhaul an offense, defense, offensive line.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You can have a rebrand, but still not have an
- 8:14Speaker 1: identity on the field. They don't start fast because they
- 8:18Speaker 1: have no identity to start from. They're always in search
- 8:21Speaker 1: of it and talking about it and trying to speak
- 8:23Speaker 1: it into existence. Instead of actually producing something of tangible
- 8:28Speaker 1: value that you can point to and say, at least
- 8:30Speaker 1: they're on the right path. You know, this isn't even
- 8:33Speaker 1: a loss where you look at it and go, man,
- 8:35Speaker 1: they just, you know, ref screwed us. The kicker missed
- 8:38Speaker 1: a kick, whatever. You take a drive and you miss
- 8:40Speaker 1: a 40-yard field goal wide right on a shank. You
- 8:43Speaker 1: can blame them. No, you can't even do that. They
- 8:45Speaker 1: were housed. They were pushed around by a bad team,
- 8:48Speaker 1: by a bad organization. So if you want to get
- 8:51Speaker 1: out of the cellar, this is the team that you
- 8:53Speaker 1: go and slap around. You've got the Giants coming up, too.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You could have two wins in the month of September.
- 8:59Speaker 1: That's unheard of by this franchise. And instead, they're talking
- 9:04Speaker 1: down the road, December. It's same old Titans. New color scheme,
- 9:09Speaker 1: new logo, same Titans. Remember the Titans.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Button, one positive from the game. Uniforms look good. We
- 9:18Speaker 2: talked about it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, they do.
- 9:19Speaker 2: People continue to react to it. Uniforms look good. That's it.
- 9:23Speaker 2: That's the positive. And that goes back to what is
- 9:26Speaker 2: the fundamental issue with this organization. When it stopped being
- 9:31Speaker 2: football-driven When it stopped, the football carried the– it was
- 9:35Speaker 2: the front of the train. And everything else behind it followed,
- 9:38Speaker 2: ticket sales, marketing. It was all following the lead of
- 9:41Speaker 2: football and football being the priority. But when it became
- 9:45Speaker 2: less of that and more of a business person in
- 9:48Speaker 2: charge of the team here with an absentee owner out
- 9:51Speaker 2: of town and that's running everything, it became so much
- 9:55Speaker 2: more about, hey, pitch me ideas on this instead of worry.
- 10:00Speaker 2: about the NFL draft. Or let's go look at this
- 10:03Speaker 2: next marketing move we're going to make instead of worrying
- 10:05Speaker 2: about our team being terrible. It's too much of that.
- 10:09Speaker 2: The whole organization is broken. And Hutton, later this week,
- 10:12Speaker 2: I want to put together a power ranking of who's
- 10:15Speaker 2: to blame individual wise for the Titans failure. Cam Ward's
- 10:18Speaker 2: going to be on that list. Amy Adam Strunk is
- 10:21Speaker 2: going to be on that list. Mike Borgonzi is going
- 10:25Speaker 2: to be on that list. Robert Sala. I'm putting everybody
- 10:28Speaker 2: to account. Everybody that's currently with the organization.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Because I think some of it counts for who's not.
- 10:35Speaker 1: You know, they're like Brinker and others who can't define
- 10:37Speaker 1: their job.
- 10:38Speaker 2: No doubt. And Callahan and all that. But here's what
- 10:42Speaker 2: I want to get away from. It is not about
- 10:44Speaker 2: Mike Vrabel or John Robinson anymore.
- 10:46Speaker 1: That's right. It is not.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Stop it with that. Stop it with it. It wasn't
- 10:51Speaker 2: about Mike Vrabel having an affair with Diana Rossini. It
- 10:53Speaker 2: had nothing to do with his job with the Titans.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It's not about John Robinson, who was fired, by the way,
- 10:58Speaker 2: as a first-place division team at the time when he
- 11:01Speaker 2: was fired, which is hilarious to think about now as
- 11:04Speaker 2: to where the Titans are. It is not either one
- 11:07Speaker 2: of those two guys. Put that out of your mind,
- 11:08Speaker 2: Titans fans. They're no longer to blame. It's people in
- 11:11Speaker 2: the building now that's to blame.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Chad, Cam Ward. Let's discuss coming up. the biggest concern
- 11:21Speaker 1: is the quarterback. That's where we start with this. And
- 11:25Speaker 1: no matter what they're going to say about, they're not
- 11:28Speaker 1: going to coddle him. The fact that he stood at
- 11:30Speaker 1: the podium and said that he's still on track because
- 11:34Speaker 1: of the way they practice, he's excited about what the
- 11:37Speaker 1: offense is going to be doing. How can you be
- 11:38Speaker 1: excited about this performance and what he's been able to do?
- 11:42Speaker 1: How can you be excited? I can't be optimistic about
- 11:47Speaker 1: the intangibles when I see some of these throws on
- 11:51Speaker 1: screens to Wandel Robinson that are extensions of the run game.
- 11:56Speaker 1: These are layups. And the errant passes are just 19
- 12:01Speaker 1: of 33 or whatever he was for the game. That's
- 12:04Speaker 1: even including the five for five on the drive where
- 12:06Speaker 1: they scored the touchdown late in garbage time. We discussed that.
- 12:09Speaker 1: We got to discuss what he said and what happens
- 12:12Speaker 1: from here, the development. What do you do if you're Dable,
- 12:15Speaker 1: if you're going back to the drawing board today? There's
- 12:18Speaker 1: a lot on the table there, a lot around the league.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Great college football with some interesting results, especially Oklahoma State.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Did we speak this into existence? I thought about you
- 12:29Speaker 1: with the stat about the FBS. Two years.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Two years in between wins over an FBS opponent.
- 12:37Speaker 1: And they couldn't do it with Tulsa.
- 12:40Speaker 2: They became the first ever team, this is an amazing stat,
- 12:42Speaker 2: to snap a 10-game losing streak by beating a top
- 12:45Speaker 2: 10 opponent. when they snapped that 10-game losing streak by beating.
- 12:49Speaker 2: And Oregon, by the way, is not good.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Through two weeks. And they were not good through the
- 12:54Speaker 1: first half of last year either. Remind me of this.
- 12:57Speaker 1: I've got a question that I think every– we can
- 13:00Speaker 1: all think of backyard football when it comes to the
- 13:05Speaker 1: Oklahoma State quarterback. Forgive me for not remembering his name.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Drew Mestemaker. Mestemaker, thank you. I wanted to say Mettenberger.
- 13:10Speaker 1: That was in my head.
- 13:11Speaker 2: It's very similar, very close.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I've got something to ask you about the touchdown that
- 13:15Speaker 1: everyone remembers, the Elway-like touchdown. Whenever we bring this up.
- 13:20Speaker 2: And since we're teasing things right now, the response to
- 13:23Speaker 2: me calling Steve Sarkeesian an asshole for how he treated
- 13:28Speaker 2: ESPN and Holly Roe, I think is as we honored
- 13:32Speaker 2: 9-11 and the memory of it on Friday, like that,
- 13:36Speaker 2: that was a remembrance of the response to that, of
- 13:39Speaker 2: where we are as a society in 2026, 25 years
- 13:40Speaker 2: after 9-11.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Insane.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Insane, the responses to that from people. Let's clear some
- 13:50Speaker 2: runway a little bit later and we'll discuss.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We've got a lot.
- 13:53Speaker 2: That whole moment and the whole relationship of network and teams.
- 13:59Speaker 2: We can discuss all facets of this because I think
- 14:02Speaker 2: the whole story is fascinating. starting with Laura Rutledge apologizing
- 14:06Speaker 2: at one point when he walked out on them.
- 14:08Speaker 1: He clearly told to do it by ESPN. And I
- 14:11Speaker 1: also think it told us a lot about Holly Roe
- 14:13Speaker 1: with her reaction, too.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It does.
- 14:17Speaker 1: We're ready to go. We're out of the gates here
- 14:19Speaker 1: to start this Monday edition. You can join us in

- 16:16Speaker 1: So, Cam Ward, he's asked about accuracy. He's asked about
- 16:21Speaker 1: why things are going to improve. I mean... There's just
- 16:26Speaker 1: so certain things are going to improve. You're playing the Jets, Jack.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Playing the Jets.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Doesn't get any easier than this. Of a week scheduled
- 16:35Speaker 2: by NFL standards, it's not like it's getting a lot
- 16:38Speaker 2: easier than the Jets at home. The Jets thought to
- 16:41Speaker 2: be a contender to draft Arch Manning, and now the
- 16:44Speaker 2: Titans are the lead contender to draft Arch Manning, number
- 16:46Speaker 2: one overall.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And let's say it was across the board. Across the board,
- 16:51Speaker 1: they got their asses kicked. Pushed around. You know, it's...
- 16:56Speaker 1: It's one thing to just say it's one area that
- 16:58Speaker 1: cost you the game. This was in all facets, all
- 17:01Speaker 1: three phases. And this is after an offseason of a
- 17:07Speaker 1: lot of turnover. And the team's already promoting, hey, come
- 17:10Speaker 1: out to the final season of Nissan Stadium. They're already
- 17:14Speaker 1: pushing that. But when I hear this from Cam Ward,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and Chad, I know you heard it too, we roll
- 17:22Speaker 1: our eyes at it.
- 17:24Speaker 4: I just think we weren't great in the first and
- 17:26Speaker 4: second down. I think that's where a lot of our
- 17:28Speaker 4: plays went missing right there. We had a couple of
- 17:31Speaker 4: three and outs. And, you know, before I watch the tape,
- 17:33Speaker 4: that's why I think, you know, the biggest thing that
- 17:35Speaker 4: we've got.
- 17:35Speaker 2: To do better in the first and second down.
- 17:37Speaker 3: It came to accuracy continues to be an issue. There
- 17:39Speaker 3: were a few layups. I know you haven't watched the film,
- 17:43Speaker 3: but looking back on some of those plays, like the
- 17:45Speaker 3: one that Tate on that cross, what's happening to make
- 17:48Speaker 3: your accuracy off how it's been?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Just continuing to emphasize flatness to guys.
- 17:54Speaker 2: You know, the decisiveness of the route. Then me just
- 17:58Speaker 2: hitting the stride.
- 17:59Speaker 4: That would be the one that Tajay just got to
- 18:02Speaker 4: continue to, you know, put the ball in their radius.
- 18:05Speaker 4: But I think we got a lot more stuff to
- 18:07Speaker 4: clean up than those. Those are some big plays that
- 18:09Speaker 4: we could have had. But, you know, we still got
- 18:11Speaker 4: a lot of things to clean up for sure.
- 18:13Speaker 3: When you say you want to emphasize flatness, exactly what
- 18:16Speaker 3: do you mean? Because there's some who don't know it.
- 18:18Speaker 3: what you're saying there?
- 18:19Speaker 4: Just continue to, you know, get flat on the route.
- 18:21Speaker 4: And what I mean by that is, you know, if
- 18:23Speaker 4: it's at a certain depth, shaving it, depending on how
- 18:26Speaker 4: the safety plays, you might have to take a sharper
- 18:29Speaker 4: angle because of how fast they drive it. So, you know,
- 18:32Speaker 4: and then, you know, me, myself, you know, giving them
- 18:35Speaker 4: an accurate ball so they have a chance for a yak,
- 18:37Speaker 4: not just getting a catch and tackle.
- 18:39Speaker 1: That's courtesy of Teron Davenport. Great questions there. Chad, is
- 18:42Speaker 1: it flattened or does it get taller? Because Wondell Robinson
- 18:45Speaker 1: needs to be about seven feet tall in some of
- 18:46Speaker 1: these passes.
- 18:47Speaker 2: But some guys need to go into the earth and
- 18:50Speaker 2: then come back out of the earth on the other
- 18:51Speaker 2: side to catch a simple screen pass.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Because he's skipping rocks to guys on a screen pass
- 18:57Speaker 2: to the outside. That's just a simple pitch and catch,
- 19:00Speaker 2: as the old ball coach would say. Pitch and catch.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And he can't complete that at times. I'm starting to
- 19:05Speaker 2: believe that Cam Ward's just not that smart. And that
- 19:08Speaker 2: is not a good quality for an NFL franchise starting quarterback.
- 19:13Speaker 2: The way he answers questions, the way he defers to this,
- 19:15Speaker 2: the way his father is DMing people, going after them
- 19:19Speaker 2: for criticism. I'm not getting good vibes. We talked about
- 19:22Speaker 2: bad vibes and good vibes in college football last week, Hutton.
- 19:25Speaker 2: We may revisit that again this week. I'm getting no
- 19:28Speaker 2: good vibes from Cam Ward right now based on how
- 19:30Speaker 2: he's answering questions about his accuracy by immediately responding to
- 19:34Speaker 2: the flatness of the routes and talking to his receivers
- 19:38Speaker 2: about flattening out the routes.
- 19:40Speaker 1: No starting quarterback has more games. with 150 or fewer
- 19:44Speaker 1: passing yards than Cam Ward dating back to last season.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Just combine it. plus week one. He has seven of those.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Seven already.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And this is par for the course. They scored 10.
- 19:58Speaker 1: They were lucky to score 10 points. It took garbage
- 20:02Speaker 1: time to score 10 points. It's It's just awful. And
- 20:06Speaker 1: then the defense with the run game. You mentioned the
- 20:10Speaker 1: opening possession. How do you start the season like that?
- 20:15Speaker 1: With all of the talk, all of the emphasis on
- 20:21Speaker 1: all gas, no break. And I saw no energy. There
- 20:27Speaker 1: was just a lackluster energy to this. It's got to
- 20:32Speaker 1: be way better than that. And now they're starting to
- 20:36Speaker 1: preach patience again. And that's because everybody in the organization
- 20:40Speaker 1: is always walking on eggshells or pins and needles. And
- 20:44Speaker 1: you think Stillman was critical last week or two weeks ago.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Get ready for everybody to be asking questions to the
- 20:50Speaker 1: quarterback about this. They have to.
- 20:52Speaker 2: It goes back to, you know, we ask versus I ask.
- 20:57Speaker 2: And on that question about your accuracy, you've got to
- 21:00Speaker 2: bite the bullet and say it's got to be better.
- 21:02Speaker 1: You're right.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I mean, everybody's got to be better, but it starts
- 21:06Speaker 2: with me. Like, yeah, I missed that throw. Or that
- 21:09Speaker 2: was a stupid play. Or here's the other thing, too.
- 21:13Speaker 2: The one thing he's getting some praise on is his scrambling.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And I know the first first down pickup, he's got
- 21:19Speaker 2: 10 or 15 yards in front of him if he
- 21:21Speaker 2: just takes off. And that was one of the slowest
- 21:23Speaker 2: attempts at a first down. He barely gets it. but
- 21:26Speaker 2: I'm not seeing any speed with him running the football
- 21:29Speaker 2: when he has to tuck it if nothing is there.
- 21:32Speaker 2: There's nothing. I hate to beat a dead horse, and
- 21:36Speaker 2: I don't want to be that guy who just says
- 21:38Speaker 2: the same thing over and over, Hutton, but I'm just
- 21:40Speaker 2: getting no positivity after a 23-10 home loss to the
- 21:45Speaker 2: Jets where that score is not indicative of the game.
- 21:47Speaker 2: It was worse than that. It was a worse beating
- 21:50Speaker 2: than the 23-10 score. It was a trash-time touchdown. that
- 21:55Speaker 2: made it 23 to 10. It's just, you got suffocated
- 21:58Speaker 2: by the New York Jets. You couldn't stop them running.
- 22:00Speaker 2: You talk about you're going to be physical.
- 22:02Speaker 1: And what was it, JC?
- 22:03Speaker 2: They weren't going to be anybody's bitch. That's what they
- 22:06Speaker 2: did to you.
- 22:06Speaker 1: They were the bitch.
- 22:07Speaker 2: In that game. That's what the New York Jets did
- 22:09Speaker 2: to you. The team that everybody else in the NFL
- 22:11Speaker 2: wants to make fun of. Oh, Robert Sala. Yeah, he
- 22:13Speaker 2: was fired and he was a failure, but it's the Jets.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Nobody succeeds with the Jets. Everybody's a failure. You let
- 22:20Speaker 2: Aaron Glenn, who's on the hot seat coming into the season,
- 22:23Speaker 2: like every Jets coach, by the way, is permanently on
- 22:25Speaker 2: the hot seat. But he comes in and they're clouding
- 22:29Speaker 2: you after the game. I mean, you've got Brees Hall
- 22:32Speaker 2: saying someone smart said before the game they wrote a
- 22:35Speaker 2: bunch of checks they can't cash, talking about all the
- 22:37Speaker 2: Titans free agent acquisitions and high draft picks. That's the
- 22:41Speaker 2: New York Jets, Hutton. The New York Jets are over
- 22:45Speaker 2: there laughing at you right now.
- 22:46Speaker 1: At former Jets. They're laughing at a bunch of former Jets, too.
- 22:48Speaker 2: And then you get asked a question where you can
- 22:50Speaker 2: be accountable and you're the face of the franchise and
- 22:52Speaker 2: Cam Ward, the number one pick, and your response is
- 22:54Speaker 2: to throw your receivers under the bus.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Well, that looks good.
- 22:57Speaker 2: That's going to go over well in a locker room.
- 22:59Speaker 2: That's going to endear guys to want to play for you.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I mean, I watched this one game, and I don't
- 23:03Speaker 2: think it's an overreaction at all. I give it one
- 23:06Speaker 2: more week. If he looks bad against the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I'm sitting down in a coach's meeting and having an
- 23:11Speaker 2: honest conversation with Brian Dayball and everyone else about, does
- 23:15Speaker 2: Mitch Trubisky give us a better chance to win football games?
- 23:18Speaker 1: They would think that. I think this is a legitimate
- 23:22Speaker 1: question for the organization that needs to be discussed because
- 23:25Speaker 1: it's week one. There's a lot of overreaction. I get it.
- 23:28Speaker 1: This is now a trend. because all the reports about
- 23:31Speaker 1: what they've seen at practice, all of the OTA, this
- 23:34Speaker 1: is a trend that's carried over from last year, even
- 23:37Speaker 1: with the new coaching staff, and Dable, who's the best
- 23:40Speaker 1: OC available this offseason. If they want to move quarterbacks,
- 23:46Speaker 1: Cam Ward is the face of that new stadium. Everything
- 23:50Speaker 1: is a... They have Cardinal Tate. They have two first-round picks.
- 23:55Speaker 1: They have plenty of other storylines.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Two top-five picks. Not just first-round picks, two top-five picks
- 24:01Speaker 2: to sell right now, both on offense.
- 24:03Speaker 1: No, I'm saying two first-round picks this past April.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Oh, I got you.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Okay, I got you. That they can market. Jeffrey Simmons,
- 24:09Speaker 1: who they sell jerseys for, there's not many other players.
- 24:13Speaker 1: It's just Cam Ward that everybody talks about within that building.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It's just Cam. So with that in mind, with an
- 24:23Speaker 1: organization that is about the new stadiums, and the decision-making
- 24:30Speaker 1: is going to the upstairs part of the building instead
- 24:33Speaker 1: of the football department, do they make that call? I
- 24:38Speaker 1: honestly don't know, because they are so intertwined now with
- 24:43Speaker 1: the two departments, unlike they were before. And that's even
- 24:47Speaker 1: with Borgonzi reporting to ownership. Well, ownership, Burke Nihill speaks
- 24:52Speaker 1: on behalf of ownership, both publicly and privately, I'm sure,
- 24:56Speaker 1: within the buildings. I'm not saying it's a concern or
- 24:59Speaker 1: it's definitely going to happen. It's worthy of discussion because
- 25:04Speaker 1: Trubisky's played for Dable. And I didn't see anything wrong
- 25:08Speaker 1: with Trubisky's play in the preseason. He'll certainly do better
- 25:12Speaker 1: than what we've seen here. Geno Smith just outplayed him.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But I get what you're saying. It sounds so stupid,
- 25:22Speaker 2: but it's this organization. They're perpetually scared. Of going to management.
- 25:27Speaker 2: If I'm just ignored by whoever my superior is, then.
- 25:31Speaker 1: That means I'm not going to get fired today. But also,
- 25:34Speaker 1: they were hired. Brian Dable's hired because he takes quarterbacks
- 25:39Speaker 1: and improves their accuracy. So you can't go away from
- 25:42Speaker 1: him this early. What does that say about what you
- 25:44Speaker 1: were hired to do and why you took the job?
- 25:47Speaker 1: They were all about this. I mean, man, it would be...
- 25:51Speaker 1: And they just got rid of a– they got rid
- 25:53Speaker 1: of Stillman because he asked a legitimate question.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Well, just don't sell– like, you can't sell this team. Well,
- 26:00Speaker 2: you can sell the team to Trammie Adams-Tronkin. I pray
- 26:02Speaker 2: she does. But I'm saying you can't market this team,
- 26:06Speaker 2: this brand of Titans football. You can market the uniform.
- 26:08Speaker 2: You market the stadium.
- 26:10Speaker 1: That's what they're doing.
- 26:10Speaker 2: The stadium is the sales pitch because it's going to
- 26:13Speaker 2: be beautiful and it's going to have bigger events than
- 26:15Speaker 2: Titans games that come to that stadium. So you sell
- 26:17Speaker 2: the stadium. If your actual thought is– Boy, we were
- 26:21Speaker 2: really banking on Cam Ward to deliver this year because
- 26:24Speaker 2: we've got all these marketing materials printed up and all
- 26:27Speaker 2: this stuff we're going to do to push Cam Ward
- 26:29Speaker 2: in the new stadium. I'm sorry, but that's not a
- 26:32Speaker 2: proper response. If you get fired for bringing that up
- 26:36Speaker 2: to your boss that, hey, we might have a problem here,
- 26:39Speaker 2: then you are better off not working for that organization
- 26:42Speaker 2: and going and finding a job somewhere else because that
- 26:44Speaker 2: is a toxic, non-functioning place to be if that's the case.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Here's what you sell, Hutton, the way this team looked.
- 26:50Speaker 2: You sell Arch Manning in the new stadium. Because you're
- 26:54Speaker 2: headed towards the number one pick. So you can sell
- 26:56Speaker 2: the next quarterback you draft. You can sell Dante Moore
- 26:59Speaker 2: if that's the route you go for the next one.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Or guess what?
- 27:03Speaker 2: You can go trade the pick away, go get some
- 27:05Speaker 2: other first-round draft picks, and sell a rebuild. But this
- 27:08Speaker 2: team is not going to be sold or marketed to
- 27:11Speaker 2: anyone with any belief.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Why?
- 27:13Speaker 2: Because they continue to lie to you in marketing efforts
- 27:16Speaker 2: about the team repeatedly. And Titans fans are sick of it.
- 27:19Speaker 1: I would just say, though, it's layered, though, because Stillman's
- 27:24Speaker 1: no longer credentialed because he asked a question to the quarterback.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That would be about three or four weeks later when
- 27:29Speaker 1: they would bench him. You know, like, how do you
- 27:31Speaker 1: set your preseason play? That was a lack of journalistic integrity.
- 27:38Speaker 1: That's where I'm going with it. It would be the about-face.
- 27:40Speaker 1: And Dable wants to be a head coach again, and
- 27:43Speaker 1: Salah's on his second opportunity. He won't get a third opportunity.
- 27:46Speaker 1: if he's fired in year one or year two. And,
- 27:49Speaker 1: you know, I'm just saying, like, they can't move on
- 27:51Speaker 1: from him yet. But, I mean, it's sooner rather than
- 27:55Speaker 1: later based on this play because they will– Amy Strzok
- 27:58Speaker 1: will move on from them. That's her MO. She will
- 28:01Speaker 1: pay coaches not to work and GMs. So that– I mean,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I know what you're saying. It's bad enough. I just
- 28:09Speaker 1: think that they have to improve him. That's what they
- 28:13Speaker 1: said they were going to do. I'm not sure it's–
- 28:17Speaker 1: He was such a playmaker in college. And there's nothing
- 28:21Speaker 1: like that here. Nothing. Part of that's the old line.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Part of that is just his footwork and his accuracy issues.
- 28:30Speaker 1: It is abysmal what they've shown.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I don't think the intangibles are great either. The more
- 28:36Speaker 2: I watch the guy, the more I see him in
- 28:37Speaker 2: press conferences. You're right. I mean, I, I, the whole
- 28:40Speaker 2: response of, Hey, he's there early and he stays late.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I'm out on that.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I'm, I'm, I'm leaning more to where I'm coming back
- 28:46Speaker 1: to the, the, to your side of this. Now, based
- 28:49Speaker 1: on what we've seen, we've got, we've got a segment
- 28:51Speaker 1: coming up that we call project runway. And we're going
- 28:54Speaker 1: to feature two quarterbacks in that. And Cam's one of
- 28:56Speaker 1: them with the game day gear that he's pointing out. Chad,
- 29:02Speaker 1: we've got plenty to get to. We've got the Vols
- 29:05Speaker 1: who they look really good. I mean, they, That's a
- 29:08Speaker 1: sound football team.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Too many penalties, but other than that, that's exactly what
- 29:14Speaker 2: you would expect of a team that's way better than
- 29:16Speaker 2: their opponent is to go handle business the way Tennessee
- 29:19Speaker 2: did in that game.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Yep, and we have some teams across the SEC that
- 29:23Speaker 1: look good or took a step back. We'll discuss all
- 29:25Speaker 1: that as well. And quarterbacks that took a step forward
- 29:31Speaker 1: after a really terrible performance in week one. Cam's going
- 29:36Speaker 1: to be on the list for the NFL as the
- 29:37Speaker 1: equivalent to what we saw in college. It's Heidi Withrow.
- 29:40Speaker 1: We're presented by Hard Rock Bet. There were some perfect

- 30:09Speaker 2: being is going to tell you to date the rate

- 30:53Speaker 1: Chad, your biggest takeaway from the NFL, I'm curious where
- 30:56Speaker 1: you go with this. Is it in the AFC-NFC? Because
- 30:59Speaker 1: we saw some great performances in both.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Biggest takeaway hunting to me was game of the week
- 31:05Speaker 2: was AFC, and it was Bills over the Texans. That
- 31:08Speaker 2: was a heavyweight bout. Those are two teams that should
- 31:10Speaker 2: win their division. Those are two teams that have Super
- 31:13Speaker 2: Bowl aspirations. I mean, if you're a division champion, you
- 31:16Speaker 2: should have Super Bowl aspirations if you can win your division.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Get in the dance.
- 31:20Speaker 2: And then see what happens. And it delivered. I mean,
- 31:22Speaker 2: Josh Allen delivered late. I was surprised it was that
- 31:25Speaker 2: much of a shootout, given the Texans' propensity towards defense
- 31:29Speaker 2: and not offense. That's a good sign for C.J. Stroud,
- 31:32Speaker 2: you know, bouncing back after.
- 31:33Speaker 1: A difficult season. You're right.
- 31:35Speaker 2: So I came away from that game with really good
- 31:38Speaker 2: feelings about both teams. You know, that was one that
- 31:41Speaker 2: I think both teams helped their case, even though the
- 31:43Speaker 2: Texans lost late. I really enjoyed that one. All the points...
- 31:47Speaker 2: in that Bears-Panthers. I thought it was– I had to
- 31:49Speaker 2: look twice when.
- 31:50Speaker 1: I saw the score.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm like, this looks like a second-half score in a
- 31:54Speaker 2: blowout college basketball game.
- 31:55Speaker 1: It does.
- 31:56Speaker 2: When it was 59-37, I'm like, huh? That doesn't look
- 31:58Speaker 2: like week one when we see offensive struggle usually. I mean,
- 32:02Speaker 2: those were my two big tickets. We talked about the
- 32:03Speaker 2: Titans and their disaster. I mean, that's the low end
- 32:06Speaker 2: of what we saw over the weekend. But I think, Hutton,
- 32:08Speaker 2: the thing that jumps out to me about week one, Bills, Bills, Bills, Texans, Texans, Texans,
- 32:14Speaker 2: and those two teams delivering– on what was a heavily
- 32:18Speaker 2: anticipated matchup.
- 32:19Speaker 1: I've got two, and they're both in the AFC South. First,
- 32:24Speaker 1: I'm with you on Bills-Texans. I'm going a different direction. Baltimore,
- 32:28Speaker 1: with how they looked. Derek Henry, with that run. Lamar Jackson.
- 32:34Speaker 1: They came out and looked the part with the new
- 32:36Speaker 1: head coach. And then the former head coach got it
- 32:39Speaker 1: done last night. That's not where I'm going, though. It's
- 32:43Speaker 1: the way that they played at Indianapolis. And then Jacksonville.
- 32:47Speaker 1: The Jacksonville Jaguars, I know they're playing the Browns, but
- 32:49Speaker 1: they went up and just whipped their ass. They did
- 32:51Speaker 1: what they're supposed to do in week one on the road.
- 32:54Speaker 1: There were some passes by Trevor Lawrence that were just phenomenal.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Touchdown pass in between a linebacker and a safety. A seed, Chad,
- 33:06Speaker 1: for a touchdown. That's what Trevor Lawrence was doing in
- 33:09Speaker 1: college that he's doing last year, and it carries over
- 33:12Speaker 1: to week one. That's the bar. that the Titans are chasing.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And Indy, meanwhile, they start off slow, and Baltimore goes
- 33:21Speaker 1: on the road and wins. I was impressed by Baltimore.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I didn't think they were going to do that. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 1: Derrick Henry, three touchdowns. Helped out my fantasy football team.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Sorry, Catfish Jake, that I had to take it to
- 33:30Speaker 2: you this week with that Derrick Henry performance in the
- 33:32Speaker 2: opening win of the season. 1-0 in our show's fantasy
- 33:36Speaker 2: football league. Yeah, the Ravens' performance sticks out to me.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Here's another depressing stat. When you look at QBR for
- 33:43Speaker 2: the week, Yes. Deshaun Watson had a better QBR than
- 33:46Speaker 2: Cam Ward.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Wow.
- 33:48Speaker 2: It's basically the same one. It's like percentage points difference.
- 33:51Speaker 2: But Deshaun Watson is playing the Jags. He's clearly outmanned.
- 33:57Speaker 2: You thought the Titans, they were a Vegas favorite going
- 34:00Speaker 2: into that game, playing the Jets at home. And that's
- 34:02Speaker 2: where the Titans quarterback situation is right now. I'm with you, though,
- 34:06Speaker 2: on Jacksonville. That was impressive. I don't know what to
- 34:09Speaker 2: think of Indianapolis after one week with the Ravens and what.
- 34:12Speaker 1: They did to them.
- 34:13Speaker 2: I don't know. I really don't know. And look, we
- 34:15Speaker 2: don't know about a lot of these teams, right? I mean,
- 34:18Speaker 2: the Cardinals beat the Chargers. I was not expecting that
- 34:21Speaker 2: to happen. Chargers are sort of a sneaky Super Bowl
- 34:25Speaker 2: pick for some people. One of our girls on On Tilt,
- 34:28Speaker 2: I feel like, picked the Chargers to go to the
- 34:30Speaker 2: Super Bowl or do something big this year. So we
- 34:32Speaker 2: don't know after one week. But there are certainly signs
- 34:36Speaker 2: of some things that could be a recurring problem. And
- 34:39Speaker 2: I don't know about Sunday Night Football. I picked the
- 34:41Speaker 2: Cowboys to win that division. But John Harbaugh, I mean, that, again,
- 34:47Speaker 2: if we're talking about going back to Robert Sala's debut
- 34:50Speaker 2: and John Harbaugh's, I watched John Harbaugh on the Giants,
- 34:53Speaker 2: and I'm like, okay, I know what they're trying to
- 34:56Speaker 2: do right now. I also laughed, too. I was listening
- 34:58Speaker 2: to the pregame, driving around, running some errands last night
- 35:01Speaker 2: of the Sunday Night Football game, and whoever was on
- 35:04Speaker 2: the pregame for Nationals said, You know, John Harbaugh, what
- 35:07Speaker 2: he's known for, is really liking a good offensive and
- 35:10Speaker 2: defensive line. And I'm thinking, is there a coach in
- 35:12Speaker 2: America at any level of football that wouldn't prefer to
- 35:14Speaker 2: have a great offensive and defensive line? I'd love to
- 35:17Speaker 2: go into an interview, Hutton, and they ask me, like, hey,
- 35:19Speaker 2: what's your identity? And I'm like, you know what? I
- 35:22Speaker 2: really think that offensive and defensive line are important. That's
- 35:25Speaker 2: what I'm going to go with as a coach. I've
- 35:28Speaker 2: always valued those guys up front. I'm thinking that's what
- 35:30Speaker 2: every program, no matter how you do it, they want
- 35:33Speaker 2: to establish a line of scrimmage and have really good
- 35:35Speaker 2: players on that. Very easy thing to say. I was like,
- 35:38Speaker 2: I think there's more to it than John Harbaugh with that,
- 35:41Speaker 2: the way they described it. But he's like a guy
- 35:43Speaker 2: known for valuing offensive and defensive line. I'm like, yeah,
- 35:45Speaker 2: of course.
- 35:46Speaker 1: You mean the Titans? The Titans weren't the only team
- 35:49Speaker 1: that wanted to draft, develop, and retain? Right.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. You know what I really want? I
- 35:55Speaker 2: want really good players that are dedicated to it. I'm thinking, yeah,
- 35:59Speaker 2: we're going to develop them. The next time a coach
- 36:02Speaker 2: says something like makes you think on that, like, you
- 36:04Speaker 2: know what I look for is this, right? Like the
- 36:07Speaker 2: great coach Doug Matthews, who we know at one point said,
- 36:10Speaker 2: you know, every good football team in college needs a
- 36:13Speaker 2: few guys that you just got to kind of keep
- 36:15Speaker 2: your thumb on. Talking about guys that you didn't know
- 36:17Speaker 2: if they were going to get arrested at any point
- 36:19Speaker 2: or were kind of liabilities in practice because they might
- 36:21Speaker 2: fight someone. He's like, most good teams, they have a
- 36:24Speaker 2: few guys that are like that. I'm like, that is
- 36:26Speaker 2: something that I'll forever remember. I'm not going to forget
- 36:29Speaker 2: that one.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I would love to know Coach Matthews' take on some
- 36:34Speaker 1: of the project runways that we see across the NFL.
- 36:37Speaker 1: We call it project runway because it's better off on
- 36:39Speaker 1: Bravo than than it is in an NFL stadium with
- 36:43Speaker 1: how it's treated now. It's more about the walk-in in
- 36:45Speaker 1: a fashion show down the runway than it is getting
- 36:48Speaker 1: to the locker room and putting the pads on sometimes.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Hutton, better on Bravo, by the way, that you just said.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Good band name. That's a good name for a band.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Better on Bravo.
- 36:56Speaker 1: I like that.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Let's go with it.
- 36:57Speaker 1: I'm going to play into the name in just a
- 36:58Speaker 1: second with our second quarterback. But first, Cam Ward. Cam
- 37:01Speaker 1: Ward makes the list for Project Runway. This is a
- 37:05Speaker 1: shirt post-game yesterday. He walks into the stadium here. Seed.
- 37:10Speaker 1: A dot right next to someone's effing face is what
- 37:13Speaker 1: it says on his T-shirt. Is this like, of course
- 37:18Speaker 1: he's talking about throwing seeds, but is this also like
- 37:21Speaker 1: some sexual innuendo as well? I don't know. I don't know.
- 37:25Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You know what I like for you to wear? A
- 37:27Speaker 2: dress shirt.
- 37:28Speaker 1: And go up there and take your beating with the
- 37:30Speaker 1: media after the game. The fact he's throwing seeds, he
- 37:34Speaker 1: missed on those passes, man. Again, it's... There we go.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I get that some of it is– I'm aging out
- 37:41Speaker 2: of this generation of young people. I understand that.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Oh, wait.
- 37:46Speaker 2: This looks like a bunch of people playing dress-up.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Just wait.
- 37:49Speaker 2: You're putting your dad's sports coat on. It's a bunch
- 37:52Speaker 2: of players playing dress-up on a bad team.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Oh, it certainly is on the next one because here's
- 37:56Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. I'm calling Joe Bravo TV dressed like a
- 38:00Speaker 1: lesbian walking into the game. Look at this. I mean,
- 38:05Speaker 1: we're talking like half the WNBA can't get this off
- 38:09Speaker 1: on repeat on their screensaver today.
- 38:11Speaker 2: He looks like Ellen DeGeneres in Ibiza is what he
- 38:14Speaker 2: looks like. That's what she'd be wearing at a nightclub.
- 38:18Speaker 1: He's one of my favorite quarterbacks. I'm just like, what's
- 38:20Speaker 1: going on here? I don't get it.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I'll give Joey B. I'll cut him some slack. Only
- 38:24Speaker 2: for this reason.
- 38:24Speaker 1: For two reasons.
- 38:25Speaker 2: One, he's really good. He's one of the best quarterbacks
- 38:28Speaker 2: in the league. So he can wear a thong and
- 38:31Speaker 2: nothing else. And I'd be like, you know what? If
- 38:34Speaker 2: my quarterback wants to wear a banana hammock and go
- 38:36Speaker 2: out and throw for 300 yards and win football games,
- 38:39Speaker 2: let him wear a banana hammock. He's earned the right
- 38:42Speaker 2: to wear whatever silk or satin he wants to wear.
- 38:45Speaker 2: Totally fine with Joe Burrow. Two, the dude's a legitimate
- 38:48Speaker 2: like fashion connoisseur. I don't get that world. I don't
- 38:52Speaker 2: understand it, but he's into it. Like he likes to
- 38:54Speaker 2: watch how things are designed and made. And that's one
- 38:57Speaker 2: of his actual interests is like Milan Fashion Week. He's
- 39:01Speaker 2: truly into it, that part of the life. So that
- 39:04Speaker 2: part of it, I'm like, well, at least it's a
- 39:05Speaker 2: passion of his.
- 39:06Speaker 1: I mean, someone took away our carpenter pants for those.
- 39:12Speaker 1: So Joe Burrow could wear a blouse. JT will hop
- 39:15Speaker 1: in on this. JT, what's up? When we went to
- 39:24Speaker 1: our first all-inclusive in Mexico, and I didn't understand that
- 39:28Speaker 1: I needed to wear pants.
- 39:29Speaker 2: So what did I do?
- 39:31Speaker 1: I grabbed my wife's pants, the Palazzo pants, and showed
- 39:35Speaker 1: up to dinner. And these, minus him being a little
- 39:37Speaker 1: taller and skinnier, we kind of looked the exact same.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Palazzo pants. Can you describe a Palazzo pant? Since we
- 39:46Speaker 2: don't have Joe Burrow on the line, JT, you're going
- 39:47Speaker 2: to have to describe what that looks like for us.
- 39:49Speaker 2: So Palazzo pants are kind of big, fluffy at the bottom,
- 39:53Speaker 2: much like what Joe wore there.
- 39:55Speaker 1: And it's kind of free-flowing. I mean, it was great.
- 39:57Speaker 1: It was better than tight pants in Mexico, but it
- 39:59Speaker 1: was my only option if I wanted steak that night.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I want to see this so much.
- 40:02Speaker 2: So I put on my wife's pants. Hey, if someone
- 40:05Speaker 2: said you either eat steak and wear Palazzo pants or
- 40:09Speaker 2: you wear cargo shorts... and you don't eat steak, I
- 40:12Speaker 2: probably would have put on the Palazzo pants too. JT
- 40:14Speaker 2: Hutton is now our new Fashion Week correspondent, Project Runway
- 40:18Speaker 2: correspondent on what these guys are wearing. So JT, be
- 40:21Speaker 2: prepared to pop on as we go through each Project
- 40:24Speaker 2: Runway each and every week, and we ask you your thoughts.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Here's what I love about our show and how we
- 40:28Speaker 2: handle Project Runway is it's a joke because it's ridiculous
- 40:32Speaker 2: and it's silly and it takes away from everything. Football
- 40:36Speaker 2: Night in America treats it like it's a big deal.
- 40:39Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, let's see what swag OBJ has tonight
- 40:43Speaker 2: as he walks into the stadium. I'm thinking, come, please stop.
- 40:46Speaker 1: We started it for the Titans on the road trips,
- 40:49Speaker 1: on the tarmac walking to the team playing. They've got
- 40:52Speaker 1: slow motion going with all the cameras and the team photographers.
- 40:58Speaker 1: You got some girl on social media that's backing up?
- 41:00Speaker 1: on them real slow as they're walking out. They've got
- 41:02Speaker 1: another guy with lighting up.
- 41:04Speaker 2: They're zesting water on the players as they come out
- 41:07Speaker 2: to give them a nice little bit of lather. I mean,
- 41:09Speaker 2: come on.
- 41:10Speaker 1: They have a DJ. You've got the ooch, ooch, ooch.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. It's like the red carpet event we
- 41:15Speaker 2: went to for Nate Bargatze's movie with the guy out
- 41:17Speaker 2: there playing music the whole time, but that's as they're
- 41:20Speaker 2: entering a stadium.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Zoolander. Yeah, you've got Zoolander there as well.
- 41:27Speaker 2: One of my favorite descriptions of attire is, A buddy
- 41:31Speaker 2: of mine, Wisconsin basketball, when they were good, and they
- 41:34Speaker 2: would just beat teams like 48 to 42, and they
- 41:37Speaker 2: were playing an NCAA tournament. They were playing some team
- 41:39Speaker 2: that had like– it was like Max Cady and Cape Fear.
- 41:42Speaker 2: You didn't know whether to look at them or read them.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Their warm-ups had like eight different social justice messages on it.
- 41:49Speaker 2: You know, unite as one. We are all together. Black
- 41:53Speaker 2: Lives Matter, whatever else is on it. And my buddy said,
- 41:56Speaker 2: what I respect about Wisconsin basketball, he's like, there's not
- 42:00Speaker 2: one social justice matches on their jersey. It's just red
- 42:02Speaker 2: top from 1988 with a W on it. It's like
- 42:06Speaker 2: they unite over one thing, playing team defense and kicking
- 42:10Speaker 2: your ass. I'm like, that's perfect. That's what I want
- 42:14Speaker 2: my message to be. We don't unite over fashion. We
- 42:16Speaker 2: don't unite over wearing silk together. We don't unite over
- 42:19Speaker 2: wearing cowboy hats in Nashville. Who was the jackass for
- 42:23Speaker 2: the Titans behind Cam Ward? looking like he's an extra
- 42:26Speaker 2: in the gay version of Yellowstone, if it was on Bravo,
- 42:30Speaker 2: with the cowboy hat on and the jokes.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Are you talking about that let in the... Let's.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Go back to the Cam Ward walking in with the
- 42:37Speaker 2: seed shirt on. If we show that video again.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Walking in front of him. I believe that's Cody Barton. Yes,
- 42:41Speaker 1: Cody Barton.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you'll see gay Rip from Yellowstone walking in behind him.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Oh, behind him. Okay.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Well, no, that may have been the guy that was
- 42:50Speaker 2: in front of him.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, Cody Barton.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, you're not going to a rodeo, dude. You're
- 42:55Speaker 2: going to a football game. Again, take the Wisconsin basketball approach.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Unite on playing team defense and kicking your ass. That's
- 43:02Speaker 2: what they unite behind. No social justice messages. Shout out
- 43:06Speaker 2: to Alan Bean, by the way, who said that in
- 43:08Speaker 2: our group chat.
- 43:10Speaker 1: At least with Cody Barty just wearing some jeans and
- 43:13Speaker 1: a cowboy hat, which maybe he does on a regular basis.
- 43:15Speaker 1: I don't know. It's the bag, the boots that he
- 43:19Speaker 1: has in it, maybe. There he is.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I think that, Hutton, what happened there in this is–
- 43:24Speaker 2: This is recency bias on my behalf. The Titans' performance
- 43:28Speaker 2: was so effeminate that I cut off jean shorts on
- 43:31Speaker 2: them mentally because of the way the team looked. So
- 43:34Speaker 2: my apologies to Cody Barton, who is wearing an actual
- 43:37Speaker 2: full jean instead of jorts in that. Mentally, I said, boy,
- 43:41Speaker 2: a team that loses 23-10 to the Jets, he must
- 43:44Speaker 2: have been wearing jorts on the walk into the stadium.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Maybe they're bedazzled on the back. We didn't look.
- 43:48Speaker 2: We're having some fun with this, but Cam Ward wearing
- 43:51Speaker 2: the seed shirt is an all-time– Terrible decision of just
- 43:56Speaker 2: the look of what you're presenting.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Next week, is he going to have accurate? Is that
- 44:00Speaker 1: going to be the next word on his shirt?
- 44:02Speaker 2: Accuracy. The definition of it. Then after that, it's going
- 44:06Speaker 2: to be flattening. Because he's giving a message to his
- 44:08Speaker 2: receivers on how to flatten out their routes better. Ridiculous, man.
- 44:13Speaker 1: The deep third. Deep ball. Passing game. Completion. All that.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Speaking of Yellowstone, I wish Taylor Sheridan could write this
- 44:23Speaker 2: Titans season. If the NFL was scripted, I need a
- 44:25Speaker 2: Taylor Sheridan script when I see Cody Barton in the
- 44:28Speaker 2: cowboy hat walking in. The team would be much better if.
- 44:30Speaker 1: That was the case. They would be relevant after one week, right?
- 44:36Speaker 1: Coming up, quarterbacks who were feeling irrelevant, maybe. in college
- 44:41Speaker 1: football with a big bounce back. We discussed that and
- 44:44Speaker 1: the equivalent of that in the NFL. There are three
- 44:47Speaker 1: quarterbacks that you believe in on the list. That's kind
- 44:51Speaker 1: of obvious that they'll bounce back. And then there's two
- 44:55Speaker 1: that you don't feel like they're going to make it happen.
- 45:00Speaker 1: We discussed those two and the two that made it
- 45:04Speaker 1: happen in college football and what it means for their teams.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Let's trade ahead. Here on Hunt to Withrow, we are
- 45:09Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Back. I found out that Clay
- 45:12Speaker 1: has a suite at Vanderbilt Stadium. That makes sense with
- 45:16Speaker 1: his donation, right? Yeah.
- 45:18Speaker 2: I thought they'd give him a whole wing of the stadium.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Especially for the Austin Peay game. I was like, Clay,
- 45:22Speaker 2: we didn't get the invite to the suite? I have
- 45:24Speaker 2: a friend that saw Clay in the suite area and
- 45:27Speaker 2: talked to him. But I did not know that he
- 45:29Speaker 2: had his own suite, but that now makes sense.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Clay Travis Law. Vanderbilt Law School graduate, Clay Travis.
- 45:34Speaker 1: That's right. Vanderbilt Law School graduate. Accidents don't wait for
- 45:37Speaker 1: a good time or a good timings. A wreck, a fall,
- 45:40Speaker 1: a doctor who wasn't paying attention. Suddenly, you're fighting an
- 45:43Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. That's why
- 45:46Speaker 1: Clay started Clay Travis Law. Available Law Grab. He built
- 45:50Speaker 1: a firm around the idea that people deserve someone willing
- 45:53Speaker 1: to pay attention, ask the hard questions, push back when
- 45:56Speaker 1: things don't add up. Experienced trial attorneys who bring the
- 46:00Speaker 1: fight to corporations and insurers based in Nashville and trusted
- 46:03Speaker 1: across the country.
- 46:05Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, ride share accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 46:08Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 46:11Speaker 2: about it. Here's what they promise.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Honesty.
- 46:13Speaker 2: They don't sugarcoat your case. You'll hear what it's actually worth,
- 46:16Speaker 2: not what you want to hear. The case evaluation is free,
- 46:18Speaker 2: no charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Go to ClayTravisLaw.com or call them at 877-222-4444. That's ClayTravisLaw.com.
- 46:25Speaker 2: No case is too big or too small.
- 46:35Speaker 1: All right, so I've got some quarterbacks that had a
- 46:39Speaker 1: bounce back in college football, and I want to try
- 46:42Speaker 1: to compare to the quarterbacks that need one in the
- 46:44Speaker 1: NFL for week two. But let's start with Mestermaker. I mean,
- 46:50Speaker 1: what we saw from Drew Mestermaker, the touchdown, all right?
- 46:54Speaker 1: Three touchdowns, like what, 400 total yards plus, but 317
- 46:57Speaker 1: yards passing. The Elway-like touchdown, Chad. When I see that,
- 47:04Speaker 1: I'm going to backyard football here. I can't think of
- 47:08Speaker 1: a better highlight that I would want to have as
- 47:12Speaker 1: a quarterback than something like that touchdown. You could have
- 47:16Speaker 1: a deep ball. Everybody's got a deep passing touchdown or
- 47:19Speaker 1: a touchdown run, something of that nature. Not everybody has
- 47:23Speaker 1: that type of moment. And it was of that magnitude
- 47:27Speaker 1: as well. I don't know what play you would go with.
- 47:30Speaker 1: I'm kind of choosing that. Well, I mean, let's compare
- 47:33Speaker 1: it to John Elway's great career, right? I mean, he
- 47:35Speaker 1: had a lot of highlights at Stanford. He had a
- 47:37Speaker 1: lot of highlights for the Denver Broncos. And you remember
- 47:40Speaker 1: the drive in Cleveland in the playoffs, and you remember
- 47:43Speaker 1: some of those throws. But if we're looking at one
- 47:46Speaker 1: signature highlight of Elway's career, it is that first Super
- 47:49Speaker 1: Bowl win where he goes careening through the air as
- 47:52Speaker 1: he jumps up and gets spun like a top to
- 47:55Speaker 1: pick up a first down.
- 47:57Speaker 2: That wasn't even a touchdown. on that play, just to
- 47:59Speaker 2: pick up a first down. Drew Mestemaker goes somersaulting into
- 48:02Speaker 2: the end zone, completely giving up his body. I'm with you.
- 48:05Speaker 2: If you wanted to put something on tape of this
- 48:07Speaker 2: is who I am as a competitor, and as a captain,
- 48:09Speaker 2: and as a player, you can't do much worse, you
- 48:13Speaker 2: can't do much better, I should say, than Drew Mestemaker
- 48:15Speaker 2: and what he put forth in that game. I'm shocked
- 48:17Speaker 2: at Oregon. We thought, okay, Boise State's really good, and
- 48:20Speaker 2: they look good against Memphis this.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Week, too.
- 48:22Speaker 2: They are a good team. So they just got hit
- 48:24Speaker 2: by a team who can run the ball, but Then
- 48:26Speaker 2: I watched week two. They're a 24-point favorite on the
- 48:30Speaker 2: road at Oklahoma State, and they lose by eight points.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I was stunned.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Going back to Bestmaker briefly, did you know that he
- 48:38Speaker 1: did not start? The previous two in college, he didn't
- 48:43Speaker 1: start since his freshman year in high school. He didn't
- 48:46Speaker 1: start sophomore, junior, or senior year. As a high school quarterback.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah, he never was the starter. I didn't think... Like
- 48:53Speaker 2: on the freshman team, you're saying he may have started.
- 48:55Speaker 1: On the freshman team, he was the starter. And then
- 48:56Speaker 1: the JV team.
- 48:57Speaker 2: Yeah, he was on a really good high school team.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I forget the quarterback that started over him that went
- 49:01Speaker 1: to college. Yeah, he was the team punter. They kept
- 49:03Speaker 1: recruiting over him. But incarnate word is where he links
- 49:07Speaker 1: up with Eric Ward. He's kind of following the same
- 49:11Speaker 1: storyline as Cam Ward, in a way. In a weird way. But,
- 49:17Speaker 1: he's throwing bombs over Baghdad, going for the bundle. Not
- 49:20Speaker 1: good against Tulsa, but great against Oregon. I'm with you
- 49:24Speaker 1: on Oregon, man. They were slow out of the gates
- 49:25Speaker 1: last year, too. Won some close ones. That's not the
- 49:30Speaker 1: case here. Michigan, when they fall, they fall forward. I'm
- 49:36Speaker 1: tied in Oregon. They always do. I've said that for
- 49:40Speaker 1: a while. They always find a way to fall forward
- 49:42Speaker 1: if they fall. They fell. They should be 0-1. They're
- 49:46Speaker 1: now 2-0. But Bryce Underwood, he's not good. He hasn't
- 49:50Speaker 1: been playing great. The passing game is not there. But,
- 49:55Speaker 1: I mean, he struggles, but then the rushing ability gets
- 49:59Speaker 1: him to a point where they win against a top-10 opponent,
- 50:03Speaker 1: and they quiet the controversy. They quiet the talk about
- 50:06Speaker 1: him being bitched. They have his head coach, Whittingham, saying, yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 1: he's our guy. I don't know what you're talking about.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Everybody could lose their job day to day. You know,
- 50:18Speaker 1: the about face after the call-out. At least he received
- 50:21Speaker 1: the criticism. He didn't do it well at the podium.
- 50:24Speaker 1: But on the field, they get the win when they
- 50:27Speaker 1: needed to. I was impressed with the way he responded,
- 50:31Speaker 1: given the fact that the spotlight was on him in
- 50:33Speaker 1: a negative way.
- 50:34Speaker 2: He ran the ball well in that game. I don't
- 50:36Speaker 2: know that I come out of that game thinking much
- 50:38Speaker 2: more about him as a passing quarterback or as someone
- 50:41Speaker 2: who's got a liver on his promise.
- 50:43Speaker 1: They're not good in that area.
- 50:44Speaker 2: I am with you that I give him full marks
- 50:46Speaker 2: for responding and then winning the game and finding enough
- 50:50Speaker 2: plays to win. That offense was still not great in
- 50:53Speaker 2: that game. The passing offense is certainly archaic right now
- 50:58Speaker 2: for Michigan. I don't see a lot of hope. in
- 51:00Speaker 2: the passing part of this. I want to flip side
- 51:03Speaker 2: of this also. Great response, obviously, to win that game
- 51:07Speaker 2: and all that. And their defense really performed well, I thought,
- 51:09Speaker 2: in that game. Colorado, I think– sorry, Oklahoma is going
- 51:13Speaker 2: to have some problems this season also. That's a takeaway
- 51:16Speaker 2: from that. I don't leave– it's not like the Bills-Texans
- 51:18Speaker 2: where I leave even in a loss feeling better about
- 51:21Speaker 2: the Texans. I leave that game really feeling poorly about
- 51:24Speaker 2: Oklahoma as a team and what they're going to look
- 51:27Speaker 2: like in the SEC. And I'll go back to saying this.
- 51:29Speaker 2: All those– Photos and videos of John Mateer all rocked
- 51:32Speaker 2: up and just huge, looking like a bodybuilder. When was
- 51:37Speaker 2: the last time a quarterback looking like a bodybuilder a
- 51:40Speaker 2: good thing? Will Levis was one of those guys who
- 51:43Speaker 2: was seen as that. Tim Tebow got all rocked up
- 51:47Speaker 2: in the NFL. I don't think that is the build
- 51:51Speaker 2: to have. to be a great quarterback. I think we're
- 51:55Speaker 2: seeing more evidence of that with Mateer. Mateer getting all
- 51:58Speaker 2: jacked up has not helped his game at all. That
- 52:00Speaker 2: was not a good performance for him or Oklahoma's offense. So, again,
- 52:04Speaker 2: tough environment. Michigan, I'm sure, was pissed here and all
- 52:07Speaker 2: week how bad they were and how they lost the
- 52:09Speaker 2: game and all that. And their defense came out and responded.
- 52:13Speaker 1: And also falling forward where they get that win and
- 52:16Speaker 1: Ohio State and Oregon both lose. Yeah. The NFL equivalents
- 52:22Speaker 1: of who needs to respond now. There are three that
- 52:24Speaker 1: I think we all agree they're likely to. But these
- 52:30Speaker 1: teams don't need to start 0-2. Matthew Stafford was not good.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Sean McVay's offense stagnant. It never got off the ground.
- 52:39Speaker 1: The plane did for about a 24-hour period. But when
- 52:42Speaker 1: they landed, they weren't ready to go. And he had
- 52:45Speaker 1: just 155 yards passing time. He had the interception, no
- 52:48Speaker 1: touchdown passes, no points in the second half for the Rams.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Justin Herbert, he had a sharp opening drive and then nothing.
- 52:57Speaker 1: They did not sustain drives against Arizona. Arizona dominated them
- 53:02Speaker 1: in the second half. Let's go with Jordan Love. You've
- 53:08Speaker 1: got a game where Kyler Murray goes down and Love
- 53:11Speaker 1: didn't step up like he normally does in this game. 50%
- 53:14Speaker 1: completion percentage. But he played bad, but you look at
- 53:19Speaker 1: the stats, he still produced something, which is where I'm
- 53:22Speaker 1: going with the other two. Cam Ward and Deshaun Watson. Both,
- 53:29Speaker 1: even when they're bad, they can't produce something. And that's
- 53:33Speaker 1: the detriment of the teams and the spot that those
- 53:36Speaker 1: teams are in. When they're really bad, they're not putting
- 53:39Speaker 1: the drive together to keep them in games.
- 53:43Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 53:44Speaker 4: Also.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Eagles, the next opponent for the Titans, right? I'm watching
- 53:47Speaker 2: a lot of that game this afternoon, them and Washington.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Yep.
- 53:51Speaker 2: Washington has fallen so fast. I know Jaden Daniels got hurt,
- 53:54Speaker 2: but it just feels like just the outlook of that
- 53:56Speaker 2: whole team. You know, they go from NFC championship game
- 53:59Speaker 2: two seasons ago and like, oh boy, this is a
- 54:01Speaker 2: team to watch. Jaden Daniels, one of the best players
- 54:03Speaker 2: in the league. And now just not a lot of
- 54:05Speaker 2: excitement or anticipation around that team. And I, Even in
- 54:08Speaker 2: a close game, I didn't feel like they were ever
- 54:10Speaker 2: really in it. It was a weird feeling watching that
- 54:14Speaker 2: team yesterday. But that is the Titans' next opponent, the Eagles,
- 54:17Speaker 2: for Cam Ward to bounce back. Yeah, Matthew Stafford, I mean, look,
- 54:22Speaker 2: in hindsight, go out there for a week to Australia
- 54:25Speaker 2: the same way the 49ers did. Let's see how he plays.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Maybe it's a little bit different. So you can one-off
- 54:29Speaker 2: that thing and say, look, weird circumstances, weeknight game, which
- 54:33Speaker 2: was in the morning in Australia. He'll come back and
- 54:36Speaker 2: be just fine. I think he'll be just fine. The
- 54:38Speaker 2: other ones, yeah, I'm with you. They badly need a
- 54:41Speaker 2: bounce back.
- 54:42Speaker 1: The Bills are playing Thursday night football.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Opening the new stadium. Against the Lions. It's going to
- 54:48Speaker 2: be awesome. That Bills schedule this year is packed.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:52Speaker 2: And early on, it's brutal. If they can just kind
- 54:56Speaker 2: of tread water, if they do really well this early schedule,
- 54:59Speaker 2: look out. But if they can tread water early, they're
- 55:02Speaker 2: going to have a really good record.
- 55:04Speaker 1: I'm going to mention just a few of the games
- 55:06Speaker 1: in the NFL next week from week two. And I
- 55:08Speaker 1: know we've got Broncos Chiefs tonight. Bills and Lions on
- 55:12Speaker 1: Thursday night. Bengals and Texans. Packers on the road against
- 55:17Speaker 1: the Jets who are 1-0. You have the Vikings and Bears.
- 55:22Speaker 1: The Bears just blitzed the crap out of Carolina. And
- 55:27Speaker 1: you've got a quarterback deal going on in Minnesota. I
- 55:30Speaker 1: was just surprised with how well Minnesota played in that game.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Eagles are coming to Tennessee. But how about the Steelers
- 55:35Speaker 1: and Patriots? A chance for New England to be 0-2
- 55:39Speaker 1: if they fall to Aaron Rodgers. And the Jaguars and Broncos.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Jaguars on the road against the Broncos who are going
- 55:49Speaker 1: to be on a short week. Potentially 0-2. We'll see
- 55:52Speaker 1: what our picks are doing later with the hard rock bet.
- 55:56Speaker 1: It always ends up being that they'll say that week
- 55:59Speaker 1: one is a liar. It's because of matchups in week
- 56:00Speaker 1: two that the NFL sets up well. And there's a
- 56:03Speaker 1: theory going, Chad, that the NFL intentionally scheduled the Jets
- 56:08Speaker 1: and the Giants in September against the Titans so that
- 56:11Speaker 1: the New York teams would get off to a fast start.
- 56:14Speaker 1: I've heard that. Maybe that's true.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Maybe. And I'll tell you this. I know there's one
- 56:21Speaker 2: clear winner early in the season in SEC versus Big Ten.
- 56:24Speaker 1: It's the SEC.
- 56:25Speaker 2: But let's discuss.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Let's discuss. And we have to get into that epic comeback.
- 56:30Speaker 1: that Texas pulled against Ohio State. We'll do that next
- 56:33Speaker 1: year on how to withdraw.
