- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Wr Ken from Mark Today. Here's Ken Rosatto. Good to
- 0:08Speaker 1: be with you at seven ten wo r Let's go
- 0:11Speaker 1: straight to the busy phones. I got two mics at
- 0:13Speaker 1: the very top, one from Nutley, one from Puerto Rico.
- 0:15Speaker 1: So I'll tell you what. Just Mike and Nutley hang
- 0:17Speaker 1: on there. Let's go to Puerto Rico first. Good morning
- 0:20Speaker 1: to you, Mike and Puerto Rico.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Good morning. Another beautiful day here. Of course, I love it,
- 0:25Speaker 2: love it.
- 0:26Speaker 1: How long ago are you from Puerto Rico or did
- 0:27Speaker 1: you move there?
- 0:29Speaker 2: I moved here about thirty years ago. I've been coming
- 0:32Speaker 2: down here since nineteen seventy when I used to work
- 0:35Speaker 2: for the government.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Ah nice, well, I'm jealous. I hope you enjoy your day.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I believe me. It's spectactuar. But I just wanted to
- 0:42Speaker 2: make a statement. People don't understand us. They really had
- 0:46Speaker 2: no concept of what Puerto Rico is. We just passed
- 0:49Speaker 2: a law that says life begins at conception and the
- 0:54Speaker 2: person in the womb is a person and has where
- 0:56Speaker 2: all the rights of person each Democrats have no concept
- 0:59Speaker 2: to will. We're like, you know, we close the stores
- 1:03Speaker 2: on Easter Sunday and Good Friday. What do they think
- 1:06Speaker 2: we're gonna do? Vote for these wackos up north. I
- 1:10Speaker 2: personally don't want to be a state. I love it
- 1:12Speaker 2: the way it is. But they don't understand us at all.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I swear they don't.
- 1:16Speaker 1: They just assume they want you. They want the votes,
- 1:19Speaker 1: they want the two Senate seats, they want the congressional
- 1:22Speaker 1: seat that votes. Now there, I guess there is a
- 1:24Speaker 1: There is a non voting representative that comes from Puerto Rico,
- 1:27Speaker 1: correct for the House.
- 1:29Speaker 2: That's so, that's correct, we have a which quarter commissioner. However,
- 1:33Speaker 2: what makes them think we're going to vote with Democrat?
- 1:37Speaker 2: What makes them they assume?
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know what it is because many of the Puerto
- 1:41Speaker 1: Rican folks and by the way, I married to somebody
- 1:43Speaker 1: who's haf Puerto Rican, many of the Puerto Rican folks
- 1:45Speaker 1: who come to the mainland of the United States. And yes,
- 1:48Speaker 1: for those who don't realize, Puerto Rico is part of
- 1:51Speaker 1: the United States, but it is not a state. It's
- 1:52Speaker 1: a territory. But am I right? Is it a territory technically, Well.
- 1:58Speaker 2: It's a territory. It's a territory, but we have special status.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I mean, if you come from the Virgin Island, you
- 2:03Speaker 2: need a passport to come in a outther of states.
- 2:05Speaker 2: But Puerto Rico we get on, we get off in
- 2:08Speaker 2: any other state. Interesting now, it's not where we don't
- 2:13Speaker 2: have the vote in the national elections. That's true, and personally,
- 2:17Speaker 2: I don't mix it. I don't miss it at all.
- 2:19Speaker 2: We vote locally. I vote locally. I don't know whether
- 2:23Speaker 2: my party is considered a Republican, a Democrat, have no idea.
- 2:26Speaker 2: It's more issue warranted were you but.
- 2:28Speaker 1: You were born on the mainland though, right, So when
- 2:30Speaker 1: you moved to Puerto Rico from the mainland, do you
- 2:34Speaker 1: lose the ability to vote for the presidential election? I
- 2:36Speaker 1: guess because you're no longer a citizen or not. You're
- 2:39Speaker 1: that you're not a citizen, but you're not a resident
- 2:41Speaker 1: of the mainland. Once you go to Puerto Rico, you
- 2:43Speaker 1: lose that about one.
- 2:45Speaker 3: I was on.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I voted when I was on the mainland. I'm
- 2:47Speaker 2: a disabled that from Vietnam A long long time ago.
- 2:50Speaker 2: So the the I don't miss voting in the states.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's too crazy now anyway. I mean, I would probably
- 2:57Speaker 2: vote for president Trump. He seems like an American, good guy,
- 3:00Speaker 2: stand up guy. But these these Democrats that assume, oh, well,
- 3:05Speaker 2: everybody in Puerto Rico has got brown skin, the Democrats.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It's not true.
- 3:09Speaker 1: This is true.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I don't even know if they would be Democrat senators
- 3:12Speaker 2: from Puerto Rico. It's hard to tell. I mean, most
- 3:15Speaker 2: of my friends would probably vote Republican, be honest, if
- 3:19Speaker 2: they were voting in a federal election.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And even if they would have voted Democrat at one
- 3:23Speaker 1: point in times. They are a change and a lot
- 3:24Speaker 1: of people have their eyes wide open and they're taking
- 3:26Speaker 1: a look at everything. Mike in Puerto Rico, enjoy your
- 3:30Speaker 1: the sunshine, but we remember our vets and thank you
- 3:32Speaker 1: for serving our country. Sir, I appreciate you for being
- 3:35Speaker 1: on with us. Let's go to Mike in Nutley, New Jersey.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I used to live right next door in Belleville. Mike.
- 3:39Speaker 1: How are you, sir, Mike. Let's go, let's hit it again.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Here we go Mike and Nutley. I'm sorry, I didn't
- 3:47Speaker 1: press the button properly. How are you, sir?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Hi Ken, I'm doing okay. This is my I have
- 3:52Speaker 3: a message to President Trump and the do O Jane,
- 3:55Speaker 3: this is my message. Since you're going after Hassan Piker
- 3:59Speaker 3: for being a later and popping up Cuba, you should
- 4:03Speaker 3: also go after these women of the View, because on
- 4:06Speaker 3: our own soil have you have on Sunny Hawston publicly
- 4:11Speaker 3: saying many times on the show, publicly saying that the
- 4:15Speaker 3: war that we're having with Iran on the President Trump
- 4:19Speaker 3: is unconstitutional. What she's actually doing is encouraging the soldiers
- 4:24Speaker 3: in the Iranian regime to hurt our military forces.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna pause, I'm gonna pausure one second right there,
- 4:30Speaker 1: only because we're tired on time, Mike. They're actually doing
- 4:33Speaker 1: something right now about it, and that is they have
- 4:35Speaker 1: the FCC investigating the broadcast licenses of all the ABC
- 4:40Speaker 1: owned TV stations and it's based primarily on what the
- 4:45Speaker 1: Women of the View have said. And the reason why
- 4:48Speaker 1: they did that is because on the View they ABC
- 4:52Speaker 1: at one point. And remember I used to work for
- 4:54Speaker 1: the company. I don't work for them anymore, but they
- 4:57Speaker 1: used to have the View under their and Entertainment division.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Then they had it under their news division, and I believe,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and I don't know for sure, but I believe it
- 5:05Speaker 1: is back under their Entertainment Division. If it's under the
- 5:07Speaker 1: entertainment division, then it must allow equal time when they're
- 5:12Speaker 1: talking candidates, and apparently they had on one candidate not another,
- 5:17Speaker 1: and so that's something that will be brought up. However,
- 5:19Speaker 1: the way the FCC works, the FCC can't proactively come
- 5:23Speaker 1: after a TV station. It has to be as the
- 5:25Speaker 1: result of complaints. So if people don't complain in mass,
- 5:29Speaker 1: the FCC doesn't just can't really take it upon itself.
- 5:32Speaker 1: All they can do is what they've done now, and
- 5:34Speaker 1: that's asked for an early review of the broadcast licenses,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and that's something that they're doing right now. Vincent and Brooklyn,
- 5:40Speaker 1: we got about a minute left, and I can't let
- 5:41Speaker 1: a day go by without having you on my friend.
- 5:43Speaker 1: How are you good?
- 5:44Speaker 4: I'm okay, Ken, Good morning, Ken. You were talking about
- 5:48Speaker 4: classroom size. Back in the fifties, I attended parochial school
- 5:53Speaker 4: and in the classrooms we had fifty kids in the classroom.
- 5:58Speaker 4: The boys were on one side of the room, the
- 6:00Speaker 4: girls are on the other side of the room, and
- 6:03Speaker 4: the nun or the brothers had no problem with discipline
- 6:08Speaker 4: in the classroom. Nobody spoke out, nobody wild anything like that,
- 6:13Speaker 4: so these New York City school teachers are full of Bologne.
- 6:17Speaker 4: It's just a union money money grab can. A number
- 6:21Speaker 4: of years ago, an investigative journalists in Italy axed an
- 6:25Speaker 4: Albanian criminal. They dispixelated out the guy's face. They said,
- 6:31Speaker 4: why do you come all the way from Albania and
- 6:35Speaker 4: or from Romania to commit crimes in Italy? And the
- 6:39Speaker 4: guy said, if I rob a chicken in Romania, I
- 6:43Speaker 4: get five years in the joint he says, if I
- 6:47Speaker 4: rob a chicken in Italy, he says, the judge will
- 6:50Speaker 4: probably ask me, oh, you forgot to take the side
- 6:53Speaker 4: edition there in, Darren lies the difference.
- 6:57Speaker 1: That's it. We are empathetic to an extreme, and that
- 7:01Speaker 1: is part of the problem. Vincent, I know that you
- 7:03Speaker 1: will spend this day remembering those who fought and die first.
- 7:06Speaker 1: I got a cut only because it's the news time.
- 7:08Speaker 4: I certainly will.
- 7:09Speaker 1: But my friend, God bless you, and I always appreciate
- 7:11Speaker 1: your call. Vincent Vincent from Brooklyn, We appreciate you
