- 5:20Speaker 5: Like Louisiana spells it them. Yep, yeah, Texans. You know,
- 5:24Speaker 5: I think we just talked about like I'm not just
- 5:26Speaker 5: some guy. You're not when it comes not just some guy.

- 5:41Speaker 5: you never you're curious about it, go see them. Go
- 5:44Speaker 5: see get a little consultation, go setting account up, get
- 5:47Speaker 5: an iv I was in and out the first time
- 5:48Speaker 5: thirty maybe forty minutes. Right there, go flow right there
- 5:51Speaker 5: in Bocas Jefferson Highway.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Right now, right now, go see.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Them all right, I actually can on that.
- 5:59Speaker 3: One.
- 5:59Speaker 7: The biggest story here locally is Garrett Nusmeyer and the
- 6:05Speaker 7: Torso injury that was mentioned in September, and so Brian
- 6:09Speaker 7: Kelly lsua coach, was asked about it yesterday and he said,
- 6:13Speaker 7: and this is a quote, that's misinformation.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Those rumors are not based on any facts. It's quite silly. Actually.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Early on he had an abstrain, not a core injury
- 6:24Speaker 2: in terms of a core injury that we deal with,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and it's been slow to heal. He'd gone to say
- 6:32Speaker 2: he's on the backside of that and he's getting rest
- 6:36Speaker 2: this week. He'll be the Garrett Nussmeyer that he needs
- 6:39Speaker 2: to be as we get into the very difficult part
- 6:42Speaker 2: of our schedule. Then he goes on he talks about
- 6:48Speaker 2: our training staff and physicians have treated him with medication
- 6:52Speaker 2: that's been part of the procedure and protocols. But we
- 6:56Speaker 2: knew coming to this bye week that this was going
- 6:59Speaker 2: to be the time for us not to push him,
- 7:03Speaker 2: all right. So it's a lot of information in there
- 7:06Speaker 2: out in little nuggets, uh, the abstrain, not a core injury,
- 7:12Speaker 2: talking about misinformation of having surgery. So he's on the
- 7:16Speaker 2: backside of that. And he did also with his chest out.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It feels like I didn't hear the sound reading these
- 7:23Speaker 2: quotes that he'll be the Garrett Nussmeyer that he needs
- 7:28Speaker 2: to be as we get into the very difficult part
- 7:31Speaker 2: of our schedule.
- 7:32Speaker 5: That's the quote that like sticks out to me and laugh,
- 7:34Speaker 5: like mean, we've been in like press conferences, We've talked
- 7:38Speaker 5: to the media, like you you watch your words, you
- 7:41Speaker 5: very you pick your words out wisely, you try not
- 7:44Speaker 5: to say anything. You try to say something, but nothing.
- 7:48Speaker 5: So I don't think we'll ever be the people that
- 7:51Speaker 5: are going to look too far into coach speak or
- 7:55Speaker 5: what a player says to the media because they're going
- 7:58Speaker 5: to say what you want to hear whatever. But it
- 8:00Speaker 5: was interesting to me that he was very strategically maybe
- 8:05Speaker 5: or very intentional, I'll say that's a better word for him,
- 8:07Speaker 5: very intentional about saying the Garrett Meyer he needs to be,
- 8:12Speaker 5: because it sounded like leading up to the needs to
- 8:14Speaker 5: be part is gonna be, he'll be the Garrett must
- 8:16Speaker 5: Fire that we've come to know or like he was
- 8:21Speaker 5: or he has been in the past. It's Garrett Smer
- 8:24Speaker 5: he needs to be. What does that mean? Yeah, it's
- 8:26Speaker 5: pretty open ended, but we all know like there's a
- 8:31Speaker 5: performance gap between where he's been and what we've seen
- 8:35Speaker 5: so far up to this point this year.
- 8:37Speaker 3: We've seen flashes of it, of course.
- 8:38Speaker 5: But the consistent performance and consistent decision making, accurate throws,
- 8:45Speaker 5: zip on the ball, all that stuff, of course has
- 8:47Speaker 5: been lacking up to this point. So that was the
- 8:50Speaker 5: one that was of all like the little snippets there,
- 8:54Speaker 5: because he's got to answer in some way.
- 8:55Speaker 3: He just can't.
- 8:55Speaker 5: He can't pantomime when people ask him questions, you like
- 9:01Speaker 5: that sure saying yeah, yeah, we can play.
- 9:04Speaker 3: That one later. I don't even know if we can't
- 9:06Speaker 3: play that because he didn't say anything.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Somebody's what that's going on. So for those of you
- 9:11Speaker 5: don't know, Seorg Sanders got asked a question yesterday and
- 9:14Speaker 5: he just lip, He just moved his mouth and didn't
- 9:17Speaker 5: say any words.
- 9:18Speaker 3: So Brian Kelly cannot do that.
- 9:21Speaker 5: He's got to say something, So like he don't want
- 9:23Speaker 5: to like sit here and be a show that she's
- 9:25Speaker 5: gonna well let's look at this word, look at that word,
- 9:27Speaker 5: look at this one. But for him to say he's
- 9:28Speaker 5: gonna be the Garrett Nesmyer needs to be and not
- 9:30Speaker 5: the Garrett neus Meyer like we we've seen in the past,
- 9:34Speaker 5: he's back type situation.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I don't know, We'll see.
- 9:39Speaker 2: He'd go on to say, Brian Kelly would go on
- 9:41Speaker 2: to say, a lot of mental work this week in
- 9:43Speaker 2: terms of film study, looking at the things that he's
- 9:46Speaker 2: done this year, just doing a really deep dive offense,
- 9:50Speaker 2: in particular the things he can control in the game
- 9:52Speaker 2: that he wants to get better at. He would also
- 9:55Speaker 2: go on to say, he was really good on Saturday
- 9:57Speaker 2: with the run game checks and getting the ball out
- 10:00Speaker 2: when we didn't have fair numbers. We want to build
- 10:03Speaker 2: on that, and then we want to build on his
- 10:06Speaker 2: consistency in terms of the pocket run. I mean the
- 10:13Speaker 2: run game check stuff. It's like how many times did
- 10:16Speaker 2: you run the ball twenty twenty one?
- 10:19Speaker 3: So like, really good at the ring game checks.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, no, I mean see, like he was trying to
- 10:24Speaker 2: give we're trying to give us an out of boy.
- 10:26Speaker 2: But I was like, again, go back to the Monday part.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Just call it run I mean, it seems so basic
- 10:34Speaker 2: and elementary, but just call it run, don't check to
- 10:37Speaker 2: a run.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Hey, we talked about that like sometimes and I think
- 10:40Speaker 5: Brian mentioned in that is like getting us out of
- 10:43Speaker 5: runs in non advantageous numbers.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Sometimes you go into that non advantageous numbers. Just call
- 10:50Speaker 3: it run. Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 5: So if we were doing good on the run checks,
- 10:54Speaker 5: but the run game's still not working even though it's
- 10:56Speaker 5: the right calling, he's telling you that's still not very good,
- 11:01Speaker 5: even though we're in the right play.
- 11:05Speaker 2: For me, every every run, okay, running whatever. To the left,
- 11:14Speaker 2: numbers aren't great, the shades not where we need it
- 11:16Speaker 2: to be. And you always had a we can have
- 11:20Speaker 2: those numbers to the right, yep, Like that's the run
- 11:23Speaker 2: game checks that you typically used to Ye, but I
- 11:27Speaker 2: feel like there is is we don't have the numbers.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Let's get to something behind the line of scrimmage.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Like I don't know that to be factual, but it
- 11:34Speaker 2: feels like, yeah, within the offense, that's kind of what
- 11:36Speaker 2: it is. Instead of like, let's see if we can
- 11:38Speaker 2: get some numbers over here and go from you know,
- 11:41Speaker 2: whatever it might be. You can go from a zone
- 11:43Speaker 2: to a gap scheme you can do that absolutely, but
- 11:46Speaker 2: it feels like theres is Okay, we don't have the numbers.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Let's get it to the receiver at the line of scrimmage.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Yeah, usually like a good run check. Let's just let's
- 11:55Speaker 5: keep it real simple. So eleven personnel, which.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Is running back, one tight endo.
- 12:00Speaker 5: One running back, one tight end. Let's just go a
- 12:02Speaker 5: normal two B two formation. We're just gonna think about
- 12:06Speaker 5: this in our heads, everybody, So we're gonna do like,
- 12:08Speaker 5: let's call a wide right situation. So wide right to
- 12:10Speaker 5: me a little crazy. The tight end is gonna be
- 12:14Speaker 5: on the line of scrimmage to the right side of
- 12:15Speaker 5: the ball. Two receivers to the left split out, so
- 12:18Speaker 5: you have a six people there.
- 12:22Speaker 3: To block some sort of running play.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Yeah, and you got one running back who's gonna run
- 12:25Speaker 5: the ball. Let's say we call a weak side zone,
- 12:32Speaker 5: so we're running to the nub end, which is the
- 12:35Speaker 5: side without the tight end. So we're running to a
- 12:37Speaker 5: left ackle left guard center. So you got basically on
- 12:40Speaker 5: that sideline scrimmage you have three people to block. So
- 12:43Speaker 5: usually if there's a fourth person, you can do one
- 12:46Speaker 5: of two things. You can throw in r PO or
- 12:49Speaker 5: you can make an alert call or a flip call
- 12:52Speaker 5: or whatever that your your term is, and run it
- 12:56Speaker 5: to the right side. Let's run it to the tight
- 12:57Speaker 5: end side now, and it can be anything. It can
- 12:59Speaker 5: be that that four person count can be anything from
- 13:03Speaker 5: a defensive tackle, defensive end, linebacker, and a drop safety yep.
- 13:09Speaker 5: To that point there in some sort of single high coverage,
- 13:12Speaker 5: so that's four. Or it can be a middle linebacker,
- 13:17Speaker 5: defensive tackle, defensive end and.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Just a will linebacker.
- 13:22Speaker 5: And or it can be a defensive tackle to the
- 13:26Speaker 5: left side, defensive end, one will linebacker. And how about
- 13:29Speaker 5: a the other defensive tackle just shaded touching the center
- 13:32Speaker 5: right at that point, if he's touching the center, you
- 13:34Speaker 5: keep that in your your count yep. So that means
- 13:37Speaker 5: it's non advantageous for that. So we would flip it
- 13:40Speaker 5: to the other side and run. And so now at
- 13:42Speaker 5: that point you got four people. Now you have the center,
- 13:44Speaker 5: right guard, right tackle and tied in two block. What
- 13:47Speaker 5: should be four not five? Now if they have if
- 13:50Speaker 5: they're if they're able to shove a fifth person into
- 13:53Speaker 5: that box to make the count bad.
- 13:56Speaker 3: It is so clustered in there, it's still an okay.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Run.
- 13:59Speaker 3: You can still we'll get three four yards right there.
- 14:01Speaker 5: It's better to run to a tight end when it's
- 14:03Speaker 5: non avitageous numbers, just because you get there's so many
- 14:07Speaker 5: bodies in there, that fifth person can get like washed
- 14:09Speaker 5: right right, or it can get cloudy. He won't have
- 14:11Speaker 5: like a free run. But a lot of times in
- 14:15Speaker 5: this world of football, right now, it's all right. So
- 14:17Speaker 5: if my numbers aren't aren't correct, to the weak side,
- 14:20Speaker 5: run to the nub n Okay, man, I think that's
- 14:23Speaker 5: non avitageous. Look, yes, that's a fourth person in my count.
- 14:27Speaker 5: But man, it's a safety. It's seven yards. Yeah, it's
- 14:31Speaker 5: not a safety in like eight You gotta kind of
- 14:33Speaker 5: leave him for the back.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Just leave him for the back.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Sometimes I got that back on scholarship has to make
- 14:37Speaker 5: that guy mess. The problem I have is, it seems
- 14:40Speaker 5: like a lot of times the answer is, instead of
- 14:42Speaker 5: doing it, I'm gonna throw a wide receiver screen behind
- 14:45Speaker 5: the line of scrimmage to the wide side of the
- 14:47Speaker 5: field and make my locking wide receiver hold the block
- 14:51Speaker 5: for like two seconds one on one with the pressed corner.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the issue. Now, I'm not saying that's every time.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I know they have more answers than that, But that's
- 14:58Speaker 5: the one that like stick out of my mind all
- 15:00Speaker 5: the time. Sometimes you just gotta flip it, you gotta
- 15:03Speaker 5: alert it, keep a run on against the non advantageous number.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's not always going to be perfect. And
- 15:10Speaker 2: we can get into that a little bit.
- 15:12Speaker 5: I want to say, like my word usage of the
- 15:14Speaker 5: word advantageous was like at seven or eight that segment.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Yeah, if you did pretty bit out then it wouldn't
- 15:20Speaker 2: have been a big deal. But now you did, and
- 15:21Speaker 2: now it's kind of like, Okay, I.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Just wanted to you know, it's one of those words.
- 15:28Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, he was about to just he was
- 15:30Speaker 2: about to about to lab. He was about to lab
- 15:33Speaker 2: for three minutes.
- 15:34Speaker 3: My sat vocabulary words.

- 18:07Speaker 2: of those exp like I can't give up. Like cane
- 18:10Speaker 2: sauce is silk.
- 18:12Speaker 5: So that was that was my thing.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Kne sauce is so good.
- 18:15Speaker 4: Right, So it was like I did kind of alternate dips,
- 18:19Speaker 4: which was nice because like honey mustard not anything close
- 18:22Speaker 4: to cane solos.
- 18:23Speaker 5: It was yeah, pretty good. They ever have ranch dressing.
- 18:25Speaker 5: My son's gonna absolutely lose his mind.
- 18:27Speaker 3: See what I think.
- 18:27Speaker 5: I like the fries and the honey muster butter in
- 18:30Speaker 5: the chicken. All right, So all like it was. It
- 18:33Speaker 5: was a good honey mustard what you're saying. It wasn't
- 18:38Speaker 5: like basic. It wasn't like thick.
- 18:41Speaker 3: What's a stand for? I don't know.
- 18:45Speaker 5: I couldn't think of anything fast enough. You get it?
- 18:51Speaker 5: Female dog and heat.
- 18:53Speaker 2: M Have you all seen or or heard any of
- 18:57Speaker 2: the like Dan Landing, like post game after Oregon takes
- 19:01Speaker 2: down Penn State. My god, I love that fella. That
- 19:06Speaker 2: guy's ready to run through every brick wall. That guy
- 19:11Speaker 2: does such a great job of pissing his own team
- 19:14Speaker 2: off to get him ready for a big game. And
- 19:18Speaker 2: I love how he talks about the other crowds and
- 19:21Speaker 2: like doesn't hide from it, but like embraces it. I
- 19:25Speaker 2: covered their game got Michigan, Michigan Oregon last year and
- 19:31Speaker 2: I'm on the sideline and Dan's way into like all
- 19:35Speaker 2: the Michigan fans right one hundred thousand plus their pregame
- 19:40Speaker 2: kind of hype video was released earlier this week, and
- 19:43Speaker 2: one of his quotes one hundred and ten thousand that
- 19:45Speaker 2: won't play a snap, they won't make a tackle, they
- 19:49Speaker 2: won't do ish on that field. He's right, if they do,
- 19:54Speaker 2: they'll get arrested, you know.
- 19:55Speaker 5: So they can make it really loud and hard to
- 19:57Speaker 5: get a snap off. Can you fall star are having
- 20:00Speaker 5: to make you some get some time outs us in
- 20:02Speaker 5: the first quarter?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they can do that. They didn't. I I like
- 20:08Speaker 2: the fact that Dan Lanning approaches it that way too
- 20:14Speaker 2: many times when you have like a challenge to go
- 20:17Speaker 2: to a venue, like you make it so much about
- 20:22Speaker 2: how loud it's gonna be and crowd noise. And I'm
- 20:24Speaker 2: not saying you don't get prepared, but it's like you
- 20:26Speaker 2: you allow it to become the main theme of the
- 20:28Speaker 2: game and not the opponent sometimes, and it feels like
- 20:32Speaker 2: Dan makes it more about the opponent than the crowd noise. Again, Look,
- 20:35Speaker 2: you're the quarterback, I mean, you gotta you're getting checks
- 20:37Speaker 2: out there, and I'm just the running back. I'm just
- 20:40Speaker 2: listening for some of my keys. But I kind of
- 20:43Speaker 2: like that he does a little bit different and his
- 20:45Speaker 2: record away from their own stadium, it's pretty damn good.
- 20:50Speaker 5: I mean, I like most of his antics. I don't
- 20:51Speaker 5: really like that comment. I think it's dumb. Okay, So
- 20:56Speaker 5: you are going to her mind and try to make
- 21:02Speaker 5: fans less important that go to the game. Pretty sure,
- 21:05Speaker 5: it's fans that make the game, make the atmosphere. They're
- 21:10Speaker 5: not going to make them about Why you got to
- 21:12Speaker 5: make that comment to the to the media.
- 21:14Speaker 2: No, it was to his team. It was his pregame speech.
- 21:19Speaker 2: They did a high video.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Well there you go.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, make it to the media and make it to
- 21:23Speaker 2: his team.
- 21:23Speaker 5: You've got final cut approval post game.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Surprised how many don't.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Post game, he did say I prepared my team for
- 21:31Speaker 4: this crowd all week.
- 21:33Speaker 2: He said.
- 21:33Speaker 4: You know, normally this Pennsyltan crowd is worth about seven
- 21:36Speaker 4: points in their favor, he.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Said tonight it wasn't, so. I mean he gave them
- 21:40Speaker 5: credit for So you're gonna talk that ish about other
- 21:43Speaker 5: people's fan bases and say that it's not really important
- 21:45Speaker 5: to really matter, But then when you come back home,
- 21:47Speaker 5: you're gonna tell your fans that it is important.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Liar exactly.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I just don't like people like making the fans feel
- 21:55Speaker 5: less important. College football sucks without fans. I don't think
- 21:59Speaker 5: he's doing that.
- 22:00Speaker 2: He was just trying to minimize what they were going
- 22:02Speaker 2: to do in that game.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I don't know. He seems like a little ish.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I love him. Sorry, get very meaheadish, Lanny.
- 22:12Speaker 6: Yeah, are y'all talking about the video of him twined out.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Well that that's what started a conversation. Uh, you know
- 22:21Speaker 2: how we used to take We talked about this on
- 22:23Speaker 2: air before we used to take the Jack three D
- 22:25Speaker 2: like you mix it in water and you drink it,
- 22:27Speaker 2: then you basically go crazy for about three hours. Right,
- 22:31Speaker 2: you're hyped up. He might go straight to the vein
- 22:35Speaker 2: with it jacked up. Three D.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 22:39Speaker 5: I didn't have this opinion before this segment. I don't
- 22:42Speaker 5: like Dan Lanning.
- 22:43Speaker 2: What I love Dan?
- 22:44Speaker 5: Probably my favorite coach in Coloradia?
- 22:46Speaker 8: Yeah, minus because you don't like him because he somehow
- 22:54Speaker 8: tricked his team into not being terrified of one hundred
- 22:58Speaker 8: and ten thousand fans in a why out And that
- 23:02Speaker 8: makes sense, and he did.
- 23:04Speaker 2: A hell of a job doing it at a young quarterback.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Well, the thing about Dan, even when he's playing a
- 23:09Speaker 4: school that he knows he's better than, he finds a
- 23:11Speaker 4: way to piss his team off.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Right every time.
- 23:14Speaker 4: A couple of years ago, it was Dion's first year
- 23:16Speaker 4: at Colorado. Of course, you know the media hype and everything.
- 23:19Speaker 4: They're in the locker room pregame, they got Bonix. They're
- 23:22Speaker 4: better than Colorado. Everybody knew that. But he's like, hey,
- 23:24Speaker 4: they're playing for clicks, we're playing for wins. Remember that speech,
- 23:27Speaker 4: and he said, look all the talk this week has
- 23:29Speaker 4: been about Colorado. Why He's like, you guys are the
- 23:31Speaker 4: better team. They went out there that I think it
- 23:32Speaker 4: was forty two to nothing at halftime. Yeah, I mean,
- 23:35Speaker 4: and he didn't need to do that. They were the
- 23:36Speaker 4: much better team than Colorado. But he always finds a
- 23:38Speaker 4: way to get that done.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Rebuttal, Yeah, he does it by being a little prick. Oh,
- 23:52Speaker 5: I think is awesome.
- 23:54Speaker 2: I think finally Oregon has a coach that's using that
- 23:58Speaker 2: as the job that it should be and not a
- 24:00Speaker 2: stepping stone job. Oregon's not a stepping stone job. Oregon's
- 24:04Speaker 2: a destination. Oregon has resources, facilities, They've got kind of
- 24:10Speaker 2: the coolness of the uniforms and the whole deal. They've
- 24:12Speaker 2: got the Nike situation, and they got Phil Knight. Willi
- 24:16Speaker 2: Taggert used as a stepping stone to get to Florida State.
- 24:19Speaker 2: That was a big misstep. And I said it at
- 24:21Speaker 2: the time, Mario Cristabal, I get it. You're going back home.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Miami's where you played. It's Miami. I still would have
- 24:27Speaker 2: stayed at Oregon, but I understand that one like Dan
- 24:30Speaker 2: Lanning went there to stay there. Now, I don't know
- 24:33Speaker 2: if he every wants to be an NFL coach. I
- 24:35Speaker 2: have no idea if that's one of his goals in life.
- 24:39Speaker 2: But I find it very hard to believe that he'll
- 24:41Speaker 2: leave Oregon for another college job. Right. His name was
- 24:44Speaker 2: brought up when Alabama hired Calen de Borr, and he
- 24:48Speaker 2: quickly said, Nope, they're not even interested in him that conversation.
- 24:52Speaker 2: So I think like Oregon kind of you know, they've
- 24:55Speaker 2: been in the conversation, They've been to championship games, they've
- 24:57Speaker 2: been to playoffs. Look, I know what happened last year playoff.
- 25:02Speaker 2: But that's a kind of a sleeping giant, I think
- 25:04Speaker 2: for a long time, because nobody's ever, like no elite
- 25:07Speaker 2: coach has ever been like I want to put my
- 25:08Speaker 2: roots down here and I want to be here for twelve years.
- 25:12Speaker 3: They also don't have a ring, have a what ring?
- 25:16Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying, because it's like their coach uses
- 25:19Speaker 2: it to go somewhere else. Chip Kelly did it, Willie
- 25:22Speaker 2: Tagger did it, My Crysto Ball did it. I think
- 25:25Speaker 2: Dan laneing somebody that finally is like I want to
- 25:27Speaker 2: be here. I want to stay here, like this is
- 25:29Speaker 2: where I want to.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Build got I hope he takes a Penn Stage job.
- 25:34Speaker 2: If he took the Penn State job, that'd just be dumb.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Though.
- 25:39Speaker 2: There's no there's not one advantage that Penn State has
- 25:41Speaker 2: over Oregon right now currently.
- 25:42Speaker 3: In the getting fired this year make you think right now.
- 25:46Speaker 2: That also would be dumb too. I mean, I know
- 25:49Speaker 2: his record against top ten teams, but Penn State, you
- 25:52Speaker 2: haven't won a national championship since I was one. Two
- 25:57Speaker 2: people in this studio weren't even a thought last time
- 25:59Speaker 2: you want national championship?
- 26:01Speaker 3: Not even a twinkle.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Nope. Me and Flynn were not even well let's see
- 26:04Speaker 2: nineteen eighty six. Yeah, not quite too yet, we were one.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Both of us were one. So it's one of those
- 26:12Speaker 2: situations where I get it. I understand it. You want
- 26:16Speaker 2: to win those games. You were in the semi final
- 26:18Speaker 2: last year, you make two plays in the final two minutes,
- 26:22Speaker 2: you win that game, and you're playing for a natty.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Just be careful what you wish for Penn State. Golly,
- 26:28Speaker 5: I didn't know if you're defending them, Yep, I'm bad.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Wouldn't have brought it up. I thought you're gonna give
- 26:33Speaker 5: me a boring answer. You thought I was going to
- 26:36Speaker 5: give you the boring answer a fire, No, that's not.
- 26:39Speaker 5: You gave me the boring answer.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Oh really, see, I think the other way because everybody says, yeah,
- 26:44Speaker 2: like you gotta be Look, you gotta be careful whenever
- 26:48Speaker 2: y'all think the grass is greener on the other side.
- 26:50Speaker 2: And I'm talking to other fan bases right now, just
- 26:52Speaker 2: be careful, like it's.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Not always greener, but you know what the colored grass
- 26:55Speaker 5: is that you're on. Sometimes it's green. I don't know,
- 26:58Speaker 5: And we don't have the.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Best grass confusion Nebraska when they fired Bo Polini after
- 27:04Speaker 2: he won every year at least nine games. Every single
- 27:07Speaker 2: year Bo was there, he won at least nine. You
- 27:09Speaker 2: don't think that during that next decade they would love
- 27:12Speaker 2: eight nine win season, just one maybe two. You gotta
- 27:18Speaker 2: be careful when you uh. Florida firing Dan Mullin. Oh,
- 27:22Speaker 2: we don't like the way he recruits. He went to
- 27:24Speaker 2: three straight New Year Six Bowl games, and Billy Napier
- 27:27Speaker 2: is one bad loss away from being at the house,
- 27:30Speaker 2: and you're paying him twenty one million dollars to be
- 27:32Speaker 2: at the house.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Okay, there's probably about twenty examples that were opposite of that.
- 27:41Speaker 2: What give me one?
- 27:42Speaker 3: Oh, obviously, I'm a big, big sports guy. I gotta
- 27:45Speaker 3: think about it. A little bit o. Can't just pull it out.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Give me one of somebody that sat in that. We
- 27:53Speaker 2: got to make a move. We're at a crossroads. Turn left,
- 27:56Speaker 2: you get over the hump, and turn right and you
- 28:00Speaker 2: go the opposite direction.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Georgia. It's a great one. Thank you, sports guy.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Now, the thing they did that was really smart. Kirby
- 28:13Speaker 2: played there. Kirby was going to do everything he could
- 28:16Speaker 2: to make Georgia great, right, Margaret, to your point, won
- 28:19Speaker 2: a lot of games.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Couldn't get over the hump. They went and found their guy.
- 28:23Speaker 2: But you've got to be careful when you fire a
- 28:26Speaker 2: guy that is consistently winning games, and you gotta be
- 28:29Speaker 2: care like some of these places that just think. Notre
- 28:32Speaker 2: Dame is one of those places. Penn State's one of
- 28:34Speaker 2: those places that Texas A and MS also been there
- 28:38Speaker 2: a lot longer than those examples.
- 28:42Speaker 5: They've been the same since they leve Malsanga.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So these places think they should win national championships every year,
- 28:50Speaker 2: and they hadn't done it in forty fifty hell, almost
- 28:54Speaker 2: one hundred years for A and M.
- 28:56Speaker 5: No, but you can't go four in twenty one. It's
- 29:00Speaker 5: top ten opponents.
- 29:02Speaker 2: But a lot of people got to know how the
- 29:03Speaker 2: state Michigan problem. It's like a lot of people had
- 29:06Speaker 2: an Alabama problem for a while.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Okay, what's a while though, Like when do you get
- 29:12Speaker 5: over that? How long has James Franklin been there? I
- 29:17Speaker 5: mean last year again, made to this semi final. I
- 29:22Speaker 5: made it farther than Michigan. I don't know, slippery slope. Well, hey,
- 29:27Speaker 5: we'll do this. We'll take a break. Or three minutes
- 29:29Speaker 5: past one we should have taken a break.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Oh boy, and uh, we'll look up the record of
- 29:34Speaker 2: Penn State before James Franklin got there, and like where
- 29:37Speaker 2: it's at right now? Because maybe you're right, don't know.
- 29:38Speaker 2: We'll see more. O TB top the bench, the go

- 31:58Speaker 2: Wood Is that number? Something we have to certainly talk
- 32:05Speaker 2: about is the Shuar Sanders.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he talking about his responses.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I think p f T commentator said this earlier. His
- 32:18Speaker 2: dad was Primetime and he is mime time. So if
- 32:24Speaker 2: you don't know what we're talking about. Yesterday, Dylan Gabriel,
- 32:28Speaker 2: he's named the starter. Dylan Gabriel draft in the third round,
- 32:30Speaker 2: should standers in the fifth round. And they asked Should
- 32:34Speaker 2: Sanders about the situation, and he just it was a
- 32:39Speaker 2: mind like he lipped words, but no no actual it's
- 32:43Speaker 2: gonna call it.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Lips singing or lip singing, but like there wasn't any
- 32:48Speaker 5: music yet, no actual words words.
- 32:50Speaker 3: He moved his mouth and a.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Lot dry like it's I have the sound going right now,
- 32:55Speaker 5: and look like he's a pretty good actor too, like
- 32:57Speaker 5: he can like his eyes are telling a story. It
- 33:02Speaker 5: looks like he's talking.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Right and launch is right like it's it is like funny,
- 33:08Speaker 2: like there's something you'd see like on a TV show
- 33:10Speaker 2: or a skit or something. I'm just that's not doing
- 33:15Speaker 2: him any favors, like right, wrong or indifferent, love it,
- 33:18Speaker 2: hate it, whatever, because I don't really care, but it's
- 33:22Speaker 2: just not doing him any favors right now. He's trying,
- 33:24Speaker 2: Like if you're trying to be a starting quarterback of
- 33:27Speaker 2: a National Football League team, someone's going to see that
- 33:32Speaker 2: and they're just it's going to continue on with the
- 33:36Speaker 2: narrative that you think is already going on. They're just
- 33:39Speaker 2: not going to like it.
- 33:41Speaker 5: It's bad look in the court of public opinion, and
- 33:45Speaker 5: like when people are trying to find read when you
- 33:48Speaker 5: know you're already in the spotlight and people are trying
- 33:50Speaker 5: to find answers to the question of like why you
- 33:53Speaker 5: fell off in the draft, why you're third stringth like
- 33:56Speaker 5: why why this?
- 33:57Speaker 2: Why that?
- 34:00Speaker 5: The easy answer. The only answer is like some sort
- 34:03Speaker 5: of immaturity, some sort of like I don't know if
- 34:06Speaker 5: I don't think it's a character thing because he seems
- 34:08Speaker 5: like a good kid, Like he seems like got a
- 34:11Speaker 5: good head on his shoulders. It's just is it in
- 34:13Speaker 5: a maturity thing? Is it a arrogance saying what? I
- 34:15Speaker 5: don't know what it is? So like you're trying to
- 34:17Speaker 5: change that perception. It's not helping the matter. But like
- 34:21Speaker 5: I'm not going to sit here and say that I
- 34:23Speaker 5: think it's a bad like it was a bad thing.
- 34:25Speaker 5: Like you had to understand, like when when a player
- 34:30Speaker 5: is in a locker room, like you don't really in
- 34:33Speaker 5: what twenty three, twenty two years or whatever, you don't
- 34:36Speaker 5: really like understand like when it's happening that you're talking
- 34:39Speaker 5: to millions of people at the time because you're talking
- 34:42Speaker 5: to the same John Jay four Beat, the four Beat
- 34:47Speaker 5: reporters that you have a good relationship. You see him
- 34:49Speaker 5: every single day, and there's probably one that's funny, and
- 34:52Speaker 5: there's one that's serious, and there's one that is you know,
- 34:55Speaker 5: you talk about he talks about their kids when.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Like you have to REALI five years old right out
- 35:00Speaker 2: of journalism, schoolders one that's one hundred and twenty five
- 35:03Speaker 2: years old, and you like there might be an inside
- 35:05Speaker 2: joke with one of those reporters that he's like, he's
- 35:08Speaker 2: he's done this my main thing before, Like you don't
- 35:12Speaker 2: always have like this wherewithal in the cerebral, especially young players,
- 35:17Speaker 2: that you're talking to the entire country right now, You're
- 35:20Speaker 2: not you're talking it.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Sometimes it's like I'm just talking to this guy right now.
- 35:22Speaker 3: And and I joke around with them all the time.
- 35:24Speaker 3: We do this, we do that.
- 35:25Speaker 5: But I think after the fact, I think Chef reported
- 35:28Speaker 5: that it was in reaction to I can't remember the show,
- 35:33Speaker 5: but it was on as man Rex Ryan talking about how.
- 35:37Speaker 3: He needs to shut his mouth, right. I can't remember.
- 35:41Speaker 3: He was in a press conference.
- 35:42Speaker 5: He was when I was talking about how say you're
- 35:44Speaker 5: sitting there with your arms folded, saying you should be
- 35:46Speaker 5: a starter.
- 35:47Speaker 3: You can you can be a sitting in the front row.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yep.
- 35:51Speaker 5: And so that was his response was like, all right,
- 35:53Speaker 5: I'm just going to speak but not saying any words
- 35:55Speaker 5: technically didn't shut his mouth, like it's so open.
- 35:57Speaker 2: So I so like, the one thing to me that
- 36:02Speaker 2: seems to get lost in this is Dylan Gabriel and
- 36:06Speaker 2: like him being named starting quarterback. It's like for Dylan Gabriel,
- 36:10Speaker 2: like he's already right now, right he's drinking to have
- 36:13Speaker 2: a fire hose. He's a rookie trying to be a
- 36:15Speaker 2: starting quarterback in the National Football League, and he was
- 36:19Speaker 2: the third round pick, like regardless of what happened during
- 36:23Speaker 2: the draft, like Shade Sanders was the fifth round pick,
- 36:26Speaker 2: So nobody should be surprised that Dylan Gabriel gets the
- 36:29Speaker 2: first opportunity. When Dylan Gabriel played in the preseason, he
- 36:31Speaker 2: was pretty good too, Like, he had a lot of
- 36:33Speaker 2: great moments, a lot of great drives. So he should
- 36:36Speaker 2: get the first opportunity because he earned that through training camp.
- 36:40Speaker 2: He was drafted ahead of where Shade Sanders was drafted.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Will Sanders get his opportunity maybe, so like for right now,
- 36:50Speaker 2: like Dylan Gabriel's trying to get ready for his first
- 36:53Speaker 2: career start and the conversations about everything else, which meant, hey,
- 36:56Speaker 2: maybe it's good for him. I don't know, but like
- 36:59Speaker 2: you know, he's gonna have to answer questions about this
- 37:01Speaker 2: too instead of their opponent.
- 37:03Speaker 3: Oh no, it's that's why football is great. That's why
- 37:08Speaker 3: sports are great.
- 37:08Speaker 5: It's just it's the it's reality television, and we keep
- 37:12Speaker 5: talking about it, we keep viewing in every sports show
- 37:15Speaker 5: in the country is talking about you know, this whole
- 37:18Speaker 5: miming situation. Is it a mind thing? I think mimes
- 37:21Speaker 5: did things with their hands. They didn't really like move
- 37:23Speaker 5: their mouths. I don't know what you would.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I've never seen anything like it before.
- 37:29Speaker 3: He's made something up.
- 37:31Speaker 5: But it's funny.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Well like mime's you know, famously get trapped inside box, right, and.
- 37:38Speaker 2: He wasn't trapped inside a box.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Was the box that the media keeps putting him in.
- 37:46Speaker 3: What you did there?
- 37:46Speaker 5: I don't know if you guys are aware, like somebody
- 37:48Speaker 5: somebody brings it up here too.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Should Where's the first player to ever get criticized by
- 37:51Speaker 4: the absolutely first player?
- 37:53Speaker 3: First player? Actually pretty good spot for for Dylan Gabriel.
- 37:57Speaker 2: He didn't.
- 37:58Speaker 3: He just kind of gets a.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Fly uno the radar be a starting quarterback for one
- 38:01Speaker 5: of thirty two NFL football teams, and it's not unheard
- 38:06Speaker 5: of that they make Joe Flacco the backup either. If
- 38:09Speaker 5: something emergency happens, Yeah, you're gonna put the guy in
- 38:13Speaker 5: the head. Seventy five years of experience, you're not gonna
- 38:17Speaker 5: throw in another rookie quarterback that hadn't had the first
- 38:19Speaker 5: team reps all week, like in an emergency situation, Like
- 38:22Speaker 5: what good is that gonna do?
- 38:23Speaker 7: Right?
- 38:23Speaker 4: That that is the weird part, right, So many people
- 38:25Speaker 4: are like, Okay, Gabriel's is the started. Why is should
- 38:27Speaker 4: or still third string? The second string guy beat out
- 38:29Speaker 4: the first string guy. That doesn't mean the third string
- 38:31Speaker 4: guy did right, like you you're flip flopping it.
- 38:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and yeah, you might be giving up on the
- 38:37Speaker 5: Joe Flacco experience because it's just time to get your
- 38:39Speaker 5: one of your rookies ready. But like Should were saying,
- 38:43Speaker 5: it's just like like their rookies, you're not gonna throw
- 38:46Speaker 5: him in. Like, let's just say Dylan Gabriel got for
- 38:48Speaker 5: like gets hurt in the second quarter. That's two and
- 38:51Speaker 5: a half quarters that somebody's got to go play. Yeah,
- 38:53Speaker 5: let's go with the guy that's been taking first team
- 38:55Speaker 5: reps for like six straight weeks with Joe Flacco and
- 38:58Speaker 5: has twenty years experience, not a rookie that he didn't
- 39:02Speaker 5: get any reps except scout team all week. Like, so
- 39:05Speaker 5: it it's the play that's the move to keep him
- 39:08Speaker 5: there and make your older guy, the second string. I
- 39:12Speaker 5: hate the narrative going around like that's so this was
- 39:14Speaker 5: a bad look on them not to move him the
- 39:16Speaker 5: second string.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Blah blah blah.
- 39:17Speaker 5: No, it's it would be unfair to Shador if he
- 39:19Speaker 5: had to get thrown in with no reps.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Yep, yep, because the second team guy might get maybe
- 39:25Speaker 2: maybe get three reps at the end of each period,
- 39:28Speaker 2: probably not even that once you get into the season,
- 39:30Speaker 2: but the third guy, certainly, the third guy's very like
- 39:32Speaker 2: lucky enough to even get some scout team reps. A
- 39:35Speaker 2: lot of times that second guy's like, no, no, no,
- 39:37Speaker 2: I got this. You go sit over there and so, hey,
- 39:39Speaker 2: you got got something for next segment. Here, I got
- 39:42Speaker 2: a gift for you. I got a gift for you

- 42:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 42:05Speaker 5: That's this guy for real? He was, all right, So
- 42:11Speaker 5: I recently made a deal. Okay, so's this guy that
- 42:15Speaker 5: I met on the interwebs kind of surging because me

- 42:19Speaker 5: right like for our kids are really into my son.
- 42:23Speaker 2: And I didn't even know I had I had numbered cards.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I didn't think numbered cards were a thing when we
- 42:27Speaker 2: were praying, but they were.
- 42:28Speaker 5: So I finally got and he has got one of
- 42:30Speaker 5: the most incredible L s U former L s U
- 42:33Speaker 5: football player sports card collection.
- 42:35Speaker 3: His name is Brooks Casting. He lives in Tennessee.
- 42:39Speaker 5: So I've been talking with him and he's got some
- 42:40Speaker 5: incredible cards and I recently made a deal with him
