- 2:32Speaker 3: can get this word that Today we're going to dive
- 2:35Speaker 3: into Acts chapter twenty three, so we get on here.
- 2:39Speaker 3: We go verse by verse, chapter by chapter. We do
- 2:42Speaker 3: inductive Bible study because the ingrafted word is the only
- 2:48Speaker 3: thing that can save our souls. Right, we have to
- 2:51Speaker 3: engraft the word in our hearts. We have to put
- 2:54Speaker 3: our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, the Jesus of
- 2:58Speaker 3: the Bible, that of Jesus made up of our imagination.
- 3:03Speaker 3: That's important. But the Jesus that has been revealed to
- 3:07Speaker 3: us through the Word of God, that's who we serve.
- 3:11Speaker 3: And so how are we going to know and learn
- 3:14Speaker 3: of him? If we're not in the word right, so
- 3:16Speaker 3: then grapted word is able to save our souls. So
- 3:21Speaker 3: turn your bibles, get your notepaths and highlighters, and turn
- 3:24Speaker 3: to Acts chapter twenty three. We're gonna go through verse
- 3:29Speaker 3: one to twenty one today, so I'm gonna try to
- 3:32Speaker 3: do this. I'm trying to go through it pretty quick
- 3:35Speaker 3: so we can get all the points. Now, Paul is
- 3:38Speaker 3: standing before the council, facing religious leaders, accusations, violence, and
- 3:45Speaker 3: even a murder plot. But through it all he is
- 3:51Speaker 3: still standing bold. How many of us can use the
- 3:55Speaker 3: boldness that the Holy Spirit gave Paul. We need this
- 4:00Speaker 3: same boldness in these last days that we're living in
- 4:04Speaker 3: right now, Amen, Now this episode is about courage under pressure,
- 4:10Speaker 3: So let's pray evenly. Father. We thank you Father for
- 4:14Speaker 3: another opportunity to get on this platform, another opportunity for
- 4:20Speaker 3: people to hear the word, another opportunity to get right,
- 4:23Speaker 3: to repent, to turn from the path of destruction so
- 4:28Speaker 3: that we can walk the path that leads to life.
- 4:33Speaker 3: We ask Holy Spirit that you will use this time,
- 4:36Speaker 3: use this platform, that you will send it out like
- 4:39Speaker 3: an arrow to pierce the darkness. We ask the Lord
- 4:42Speaker 3: that people will get touched, saved, He'll delivered and set
- 4:46Speaker 3: free just by clicking on this link. Well, he asked
- 4:51Speaker 3: this in Jesus' name. Amen, all right, let's dive right
- 4:59Speaker 3: in verse one. Now, after five days and a nayas,
- 5:04Speaker 3: the High Priest came down with the elders and a
- 5:09Speaker 3: certain doctor orator excuse me, a certain orator named Tartulius.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I don't know, I could be. I think I said
- 5:24Speaker 3: it right. But anyway, those gave evidence to the governor
- 5:29Speaker 3: against Paul. All right, So just a little bit of background.
- 5:35Speaker 3: In the last episode, we saw Paul escaping and murderous plots.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Paul goes to Jerusalem and the Jews from Asia accuse him.
- 5:47Speaker 3: The commander, the Roman commander had to rescue Paul from
- 5:51Speaker 3: the mob, and so the commander is trying to do
- 5:55Speaker 3: it right correctly. He's telling him to go before the
- 5:59Speaker 3: courts to figure out what's going on. Why does this
- 6:03Speaker 3: man deserve death? Even the Romans say that he is innocent.
- 6:08Speaker 3: And so now the accusers finally show up to give
- 6:14Speaker 3: their side of the story. And so we picked this up.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Paul is in court, the court scene. Okay, evidence to Paul,
- 6:37Speaker 3: all right, belove it. I just noticed I made a mistake.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Care I told y'all chapter twenty three. You might be
- 6:44Speaker 3: looking at verse one in chapter twenty three lost right now,
- 6:50Speaker 3: My apologies are actually in chapter twenty four. We finished
- 6:54Speaker 3: twenty three on the last episode, so if you can
- 6:58Speaker 3: turn the page to chapter twenty four. Now, after five
- 7:04Speaker 3: days and a Nayas and the high priest came down
- 7:07Speaker 3: with the elders in a certain ora to named Totilius.
- 7:13Speaker 3: These gave evidence to the governor against Paul. Now, the
- 7:18Speaker 3: religious leaders brought a skilled speaker to this trial, Tortilius.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Now they brought him so they can strengthen their legal
- 7:30Speaker 3: accusations against him. Now this was a formal prosecution. These
- 7:40Speaker 3: guys were trying to be as professional as they could.
- 7:45Speaker 3: You not be intimidated if people they hire a lawyer
- 7:48Speaker 3: or hire someone against you who's supposed to be professional
- 7:54Speaker 3: or good at what they do. Keep your faith in
- 8:01Speaker 3: trust in the process. As God has brought you to it,
- 8:06Speaker 3: he will bring you through it. Amen. And when he
- 8:10Speaker 3: was called upon, Tertulias began his accusation saying, seeing that
- 8:16Speaker 3: through you we enjoy a great peace and prosperity is
- 8:21Speaker 3: being brought to this nation by your foresight. He accepted
- 8:27Speaker 3: always and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. Okay,
- 8:36Speaker 3: so he's trying to butter him up right now. The
- 8:44Speaker 3: Bible calls us flattery. He flatters him before the accusation
- 8:52Speaker 3: he's going to make against Paul. This is classic manipulation.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Fake pray is before false accusations. Not every complaint is genuine.
- 9:08Speaker 3: That's why a discernment is very important. The Bible tells
- 9:14Speaker 3: us to be careful of those who flatter with the tongue.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Better is open rebuke than kisses in secret. Right, an
- 9:25Speaker 3: open rebuke from a friend is better than kisses from
- 9:31Speaker 3: an enemy. Hey, man, it looks like you.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Lost another one.
- 9:41Speaker 3: All right, let's pick it up in verse five, For
- 9:43Speaker 3: we have found this man a plague. It looks like
- 9:47Speaker 3: lost another one, a creator of dissension among all the Jews. Now,
- 9:54Speaker 3: Paul was called a plague. Wow, simply because truth disrupted
- 10:02Speaker 3: religious comfort. They called him a plague. Truth will always
- 10:10Speaker 3: disrupt religious comfort. Truth will always offend religious demons. Remember
- 10:19Speaker 3: that they called them dangerous. Now, sometimes people call conviction division.
- 10:33Speaker 3: When the Holy Spirit has convicted you, they want to
- 10:37Speaker 3: say that this division, But Paul was not spreading evil
- 10:42Speaker 3: at all. Paul was only exposing the truth. Let's pick
- 10:54Speaker 3: it up six nine. He even tried to profane the temple,
- 11:00Speaker 3: and we seized him and wanted to judge him according
- 11:05Speaker 3: to our law. But the Commander Listreous came by and
- 11:12Speaker 3: with great violence took him out of our hands. Look,
- 11:14Speaker 3: he sounds like, you know, he's playing the victim card right,
- 11:18Speaker 3: sounds like they're crying about what they did. They couldn't,
- 11:24Speaker 3: you know, there's nothing they could do. Commanding his accusers
- 11:31Speaker 3: to come to you. By examining him yourself, you may
- 11:35Speaker 3: ascertain all these things of which we accuse him. And
- 11:40Speaker 3: the Jews also assented, maintaining that these things were so. Now,
- 11:52Speaker 3: these accusations were exaggerated, and they were false. This is
- 12:00Speaker 3: what false accusation does. It turns assumption into charges. Because
- 12:10Speaker 3: they didn't have any proof of what they accused them of,
- 12:14Speaker 3: so they're assuming. They're trying to build a case off
- 12:18Speaker 3: of assumptions, and this is human error. Now, when you
- 12:35Speaker 3: have assumption and you have very little truth, this could
- 12:42Speaker 3: be a dangerous thing. If you're going off of only
- 12:46Speaker 3: assumptions and you're not seeking the truth, you're not asking
- 12:50Speaker 3: the Holy Spirit, you're not praying. This could be a
- 12:54Speaker 3: dangerous thing. Now let's go to verse ten, and let's
- 13:00Speaker 3: see how Paul responds to this. Then Paul, after the
- 13:05Speaker 3: governor had nodded to him to speak, answered, inasmuch as
- 13:11Speaker 3: I know that you have been for many years a
- 13:16Speaker 3: judge of this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer
- 13:22Speaker 3: for myself, because you may ascertain that it is no
- 13:30Speaker 3: more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem
- 13:35Speaker 3: to worship. All right, Now, Then Paul, after the governor
- 13:46Speaker 3: had nodded to him, speaks and he answers. Now, Paul
- 13:51Speaker 3: does not respond emotionally to this situation. He answers calmly,
- 13:57Speaker 3: and he begins to answer in a re respectful manner.
- 14:02Speaker 3: He's not, you know, shaking his neck. He doesn't have
- 14:06Speaker 3: a tone, he's not out of control. He is speaking respectfully,
- 14:14Speaker 3: and he's making his case. This shows spiritual maturity. But
- 14:22Speaker 3: we can speak and respond to people in a calm
- 14:27Speaker 3: matter and not given to our emotions. You don't need
- 14:34Speaker 3: to panic when truth is on your side. You don't
- 14:37Speaker 3: have to worry. Calm confidence is your superpower because you
- 14:45Speaker 3: know you have the truth on your side. You know
- 14:50Speaker 3: that you've done nothing wrong. I've been in situations where
- 14:53Speaker 3: people have made assumptions about me that are wrong, and
- 14:59Speaker 3: people will run with them. Sometimes people build a relationship
- 15:04Speaker 3: with you based on what other people have said. But
- 15:12Speaker 3: all you have to do what the Bible says tells
- 15:15Speaker 3: says that they will praise our heavenly Father just by
- 15:23Speaker 3: our conduct when they accuse us of doing evil. But
- 15:26Speaker 3: when they see our works, they will be put to shame. Amen,
- 15:35Speaker 3: it looks like you lost another one verse fourteen, worship twelve. Actually,
- 15:51Speaker 3: and they neither found me in the temple disputing with anyone,
- 15:56Speaker 3: nor inciting the crowd, either in the synagogues or in
- 16:02Speaker 3: the city. So they couldn't find them nowhere. They had
- 16:07Speaker 3: no witnesses. There was no one there to say that,
- 16:11Speaker 3: oh Paul was disputing, arguing with us. He was out
- 16:16Speaker 3: in the streets, he was beside himself, he raised a crowd,
- 16:23Speaker 3: a conspiracy. None of this, Nor can they prove the
- 16:27Speaker 3: things which they now accuse me. This is powerful verse fourteen.
- 16:34Speaker 3: But this I confess to you that according to the
- 16:38Speaker 3: way which they call a sect, so I worshiped the
- 16:43Speaker 3: God of my fathers leaving all things which are written
- 16:48Speaker 3: in the law and in the prophets. Wow, wow, wow, wow.
- 16:57Speaker 3: This is powerful right here, Paul Bowley and me his
- 17:00Speaker 3: faith in Christ while sharing continualing with Judaism. He is
- 17:11Speaker 3: sharing his faith as well as he is defending his faith.
- 17:21Speaker 3: But this I confess to you that according to the
- 17:25Speaker 3: way I worship the God of my father's. Now this
- 17:30Speaker 3: is bold right here. Yes, I followed the way. He
- 17:34Speaker 3: didn't water it down one bit. He stood on it.
- 17:39Speaker 3: He stood ten toes down and he said, I strive
- 17:43Speaker 3: to have a conscience without offense. That is powerful. And
- 17:55Speaker 3: let's read that right quick. But this I confess to
- 17:59Speaker 3: you that according to the way they call a sect,
- 18:05Speaker 3: so I worship the God of my Father's believing all
- 18:09Speaker 3: fiends which are written in the law and other prophets.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I have hope in God which they themselves also accept,
- 18:21Speaker 3: that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both
- 18:25Speaker 3: of the just and the unjust. This being so, I
- 18:31Speaker 3: myself always strive to have a conscience without offense towards
- 18:38Speaker 3: God and men. Hallelujah. We need to highlight that scripture,
- 18:46Speaker 3: We need to memorize that scripture. We need to make
- 18:50Speaker 3: a T shirt out of this scripture. Right here. This
- 18:54Speaker 3: is powerful, and this sums up the Christian life right here.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I strive to have conscience without offense. That's powerful. Now,
- 19:12Speaker 3: let's not go over that too quickly, Beloved, that is
- 19:16Speaker 3: a good motive, and that is a good heart of
- 19:20Speaker 3: good attitude. How many of us can say that this
- 19:25Speaker 3: is what we're striving for. How many of us think
- 19:34Speaker 3: about this when we wake up in the morning today.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I am not going to offend my God, Amen. My
- 19:45Speaker 3: life will not be offensive towards him. Amen. This needs
- 19:49Speaker 3: to be added to our prayer list, Lord, and not
- 19:53Speaker 3: allow me to offend you today. By your grace, hallelujah.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I'm definitely going to add it to my prayer list
- 20:01Speaker 3: and break that down. But this shows the heart of Paul.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Paul is showing that his purpose was worshiped and generosity,
- 20:20Speaker 3: not rebellion. Paul wanted to do nothing but serve God, Amen,
- 20:38Speaker 3: verse seventeen. Now, after many years, I don't know, that
- 20:42Speaker 3: just touched me. I don't know about y'all, but that
- 20:46Speaker 3: was powerful. I strive always to have a conscience without
- 20:51Speaker 3: offense towards God and men. So it's not just God,
- 20:56Speaker 3: I missed that part men as well, not to offend
- 21:01Speaker 3: someone else, hallelujah. Seventeen. Now, after many years, I came
- 21:08Speaker 3: to bring alms and offering to my nation, in the
- 21:13Speaker 3: midst of which some Jews from Asia found me purified
- 21:18Speaker 3: in the temple, neither with a mob nor with a tumult.
- 21:24Speaker 3: So Paul wanted to be generous. He wanted to bless
- 21:28Speaker 3: his people. He even brought an offering, a gift. This
- 21:34Speaker 3: man was dripping with nothing but love, and they missed it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: They missed this powerful leader. Nineteen. They ought to have
- 21:45Speaker 3: been here before you to object if they had anything
- 21:52Speaker 3: against me. Amen, Now this is powerful. Even though Paul
- 22:17Speaker 3: came with an offering, and even though Paul came to
- 22:22Speaker 3: bless them, people still miss judge his good intentions. Even
- 22:30Speaker 3: though people may misjudge us, we must stay faithful anyway.
- 22:37Speaker 3: And man Paul came with alms, and Paul came to
- 22:42Speaker 3: bless them, he had an offering, and still misjudge his intentions.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Now they ought to have been here before you to object.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Paul points out the absence of the real witness, the
- 23:03Speaker 3: people who were the ones who were really there. We
- 23:08Speaker 3: could really accuse them We're not even in the crowd. Now,
- 23:13Speaker 3: that is courtroom wisdom right there. If the witnesses aren't there,
- 23:19Speaker 3: where is the case, right? Where is the case? Even?
- 23:26Speaker 3: Our system is based on witnesses. That's why we have
- 23:34Speaker 3: the witness protection program. It's important to have a witness.
- 23:39Speaker 3: They call the witness to the stand, and there was
- 23:42Speaker 3: no legitimate witness. There was no one there when this
- 23:46Speaker 3: whole situation went down. That's crazy verse twenty one unless
- 23:54Speaker 3: it is for this one statement concerning the resurrection of
- 24:00Speaker 3: the dead, I am being judged by you this day. Now,
- 24:05Speaker 3: Paul makes it clear the real issue is the resurrection. Now,
- 24:12Speaker 3: let's be honest. This wasn't really about the law. It
- 24:16Speaker 3: was about Jesus Christ himself. Truth always come out and
- 24:23Speaker 3: it comes back to the resurrection. That's the real dividing
- 24:29Speaker 3: line here, that's the real division now. The resurrection of
- 24:36Speaker 3: the dead is the foundation of our Christian faith, our
- 24:40Speaker 3: Christian walk. Paul even said himself that if there is
- 24:43Speaker 3: no resurrection, that our faith is in vain. And Christ
- 24:50Speaker 3: died on the cross. There were thousands of people who
- 24:56Speaker 3: died on the cross. Thousands of people from Adam have died,
- 25:03Speaker 3: But how many have resurrected from the dead, and then
- 25:07Speaker 3: his resurrection is proof that he is the son of God.
- 25:14Speaker 3: He is the savior of the whole world. That's why
- 25:19Speaker 3: we must confess that Jesus died and rose from the dead,
- 25:26Speaker 3: and that we must put our faith in trust in
- 25:28Speaker 3: him and believe that we will be resurrected. Also. That
- 25:34Speaker 3: is our faith, our hope, our hope of glory is
- 25:39Speaker 3: Christ in Us and the power of the resurrection. Amen.
- 25:44Speaker 3: All right, time for a break.
- 25:47Speaker 5: You are listening to the light of Las Vegas. This
- 25:51Speaker 5: is the his hop radio show, right.
- 26:03Speaker 1: This the Kings ain't version.

- 26:53Speaker 1: the Lord that while I'm going up the chards don't

- 26:56Speaker 4: If they say hey, and God, praise Jesus in the
- 26:58Speaker 4: man's on the one I be praising through the rain

- 27:02Speaker 1: You snatched me up, God, you took me on this

- 27:15Speaker 4: skeled of death from going home. I got praised for
- 27:18Speaker 4: the Lord. I'm gonna praise right or wrong. You don't
- 27:20Speaker 4: like the way I do it, let me alone.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I got God on my side. I ain't never home alone.
- 27:24Speaker 1: If I'm probably get my rebound something like call alone.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I don't estimate the power he the greatest on the throne.
