A woman in Hudson, Candice Riley, 50, is facing eight counts of animal cruelty after police found her mama dog and seven newborn pups in a horrifyingly unsafe garage—trash piled high, dangling wires, and an open can of gasoline near their food and water. The puppies, found on filthy blankets, were barely alive. Animal control intervened, removing them for safety. Riley was arrested Wednesday and will be arraigned next week.
