Latest / KSEV Mornings with Craig and Wayne / Talarico's Shifting Message, Trump on the Strait of Hormuz, and an AI Radio DJ
Transcript
- 0:07There we go.
- 0:30Wayne Dolcefino, RKCV radio.
- 0:42It is the Mob, guys.
- 0:44My name is Craig Coglianese.
- 0:46Wayne Dolcefino is now on special assignment after dealing with a bunch of the technical
- 0:49issues that existed in the first half hour of the show, but we got there.
- 0:54And now, whenever we do any of this, moving forward, it'll all work, which is nice.
- 0:58I will be filling in for Dana lash again today from two to four o'clock if you want to listen
- 1:03To Dana's show some of this stuff that I'm about to play in here and Russell
- 1:07We might as well try to see if the third microphone thing works for my computer audio
- 1:13How do you feel about this? Does this feel like?
- 1:17Cool
- 1:19I already heard it right there. That was yeah. Oh
- 1:24Man, I know why I'm so happy about that. All right. I have some Trump audio. I'm gonna play here real quick
- 1:28and this is the president talking about how they wanted to arrest him and
- 1:32impeach him. All the stuff that I do think gets a lot of people to respond.
- 1:35They've tried to smear us, slander us, persecute us, demoralize us. They've attacked me,
- 1:41they've impeached me. They did. They've arrested me and they even tried to kill
- 1:46me I guess. But with you at my side we have always prevailed and prevailed by a
- 1:54lot and got record setting votes and record setting victory. We've won every battle. We've
- 2:06defeated every hoax. We've overcome every threat. And now we are on the cusp of beating
- 2:12the communists, socialists, radicalized lunatics and villains. Yeah. Once and for all, we're
- 2:18going to put them down once and for all.
- 2:20You know, I want to respond to something because Wayne Dolcefino was talking about it in the
- 2:24last hour and I'm of both minds of some of that discussion, but I by and large agree
- 2:29with Wayne.
- 2:31When it comes to independence, when it comes to people that might actually help push you
- 2:36over the top and get you to win an election, some of this messaging isn't working anymore.
- 2:41However, to everybody that is what you call the base, to everybody who is, I think, motivated
- 2:47from jump to be a part of these sort of elections,
- 2:50or every election every year all the time,
- 2:52this is the most important discussion point
- 2:55and the actual fight itself.
- 2:57There are two sides of that concept to me,
- 3:01because I do think that the left is becoming radical
- 3:04even more than they were before.
- 3:06And I do think that the left sounds like,
- 3:10Marxists and communists and all the crazy, horrible things
- 3:14that we don't want our society to become.
- 3:16So I do believe when you discuss that aspect of how politics is shaping on the right and
- 3:24the left, that that's exactly where we are.
- 3:26And I do often think, I'll just say one last thing about this from, again, I'd call it
- 3:30a macro level, talking about it from the treetops viewpoint.
- 3:35In my opinion, when you're looking at everything going on, I do believe that if you stopped
- 3:41messaging in this way, you could lose some of the base.
- 3:44There are people out there who think that if you're not talking all the time about the
- 3:49Nazis, about the radicals, about the insanity of the left, then you're catering to them.
- 3:54Then you're bending the knee and you're allowing them to get the thing they most want, which
- 3:58is backing off of that message.
- 3:59So there has to be some mixture of how we do both at the same time, because when you
- 4:04do hear the left say some of the things the left is saying, and a lot of politicians who
- 4:09are doing better than expected,
- 4:11Talarico certainly among them in these elections
- 4:15throughout the country or in their primary races
- 4:17and potentially in the actual November election.
- 4:19When you see that, you can't help but wonder
- 4:22what the hell is going on?
- 4:24Like I don't think there's another way to say it than that.
- 4:26So I do want people to understand,
- 4:30anyone listening to the show who in the last half hour
- 4:33thinks, well, no, no, don't do that guys,
- 4:35to Wayne and I because the more we back off the radicals,
- 4:38the more we allow them to win.
- 4:40I just think you have to have a multifaceted message
- 4:43at this point that tells the people
- 4:46who no longer are listening to,
- 4:48we need to protect women's sports, something else,
- 4:52on top of the people who are listening
- 4:54and know that we're gonna protect women's sports.
- 4:56And here, I'll say it this way.
- 4:58This is probably a better way to articulate it.
- 5:00It's exactly what Talarico is doing.
- 5:03Talarico hush, hush, nod, nod,
- 5:05is telling everyone on the deep part of his party
- 5:08that he's gonna absolutely do all the radical things
- 5:11they want him to do when he's in office.
- 5:14And then he's not talking about on the campaign trail.
- 5:16He is sanitizing his message for everybody in the middle.
- 5:20And it does appear more so than I thought
- 5:24to be beneficial, to be working for him.
- 5:26He's just a liar.
- 5:27And I do love that campaign ad that came out recently
- 5:31that Talarico is a liar because I think that a lot of the times when you try to make these
- 5:38arguments to certain individuals, the ability to actually show them and demonstrate to them
- 5:45how obvious it is, is probably more important. I think it's like a minute and a half,
- 5:50but I want to try to play a lot of this video because I think it's pretty good.
- 6:02using artificial intelligence to put words in my mouth.
- 6:06And I think Texans are tired.
- 6:07Well, they're a bit of maintenance use you've made.
- 6:09But some of these are insane.
- 6:11Some of them come from real things that you've said.
- 6:13No, I'm not a member of the Chinese Communist Party.
- 6:17He is.
- 6:18SB17, which passed last year.
- 6:20By the way, what this ad is for anyone who can't see it,
- 6:23because it's not even up on social media,
- 6:25is TalaRico walking and saying his version of a campaign ad,
- 6:29and then an immediate receipts refute of that where maybe
- 6:33Talarico isn't actually a part of the Communist Party of China and no one's accused him of that.
- 6:38He's certainly trying to help defend them and the things they want.
- 6:41And certain governments, organizations and individuals from
- 6:43and by inland in Texas you voted against the bill. Why?
- 6:49I was deeply concerned that this bill would be used to discriminate.
- 6:53No, I don't support sex change surgeries for kids.
- 6:57Kind of think you do though.
- 6:57The most dangerous is SP-14, which was denied many times life-saving health care from our
- 7:06trans youth in Texas.
- 7:09And the reason that I opposed that bill is because I trust parents and doctors to make
- 7:15decisions for kids and not politicians.
- 7:19All these ideologies stem from this Christophascism movement.
- 7:23And then you saw it in the anti-LGBTQ legislation, including the bill that would have denied
- 7:29gender-affirming health care to trans children.
- 7:32The consequences of not providing that treatment can be dire.
- 7:35Then that doctor has an obligation, a moral obligation, according to their Hippocratic
- 7:41oath, to ensure that that patient, whether it's a minor incontinence with their parents,
- 7:48receives the treatment that they need.
- 7:50Okay, I want to stop it right there.
- 7:51I think you get the overarching message.
- 7:53It's a very loud campaign ad,
- 7:54which is why the audio sounds not so great.
- 7:57But the thing that's most amazing is that
- 7:59Talarico in his role as a politician out of Austin,
- 8:04fighting on Capitol Hill here in the States
- 8:07about how kids need gender affirming care,
- 8:11which is what he calls it,
- 8:12because some doctor somewhere claimed
- 8:14that that's what the child needs to be happy.
- 8:16And a lot of us, including a lot of medical professionals,
- 8:19vehemently disagree with that.
- 8:21The entirety of that concept, every part of it, we think it should not happen, etc, etc.
- 8:27And now we're supposed to believe that he's magically changed his opinion on that, and
- 8:31he doesn't support gender-affirming care for children.
- 8:34It is ludicrous.
- 8:35It is ridiculous.
- 8:36But here's the rub.
- 8:38I do think when that message has been going on in some form or fashion since 2016, it
- 8:43has lost its effectiveness in the middle.
- 8:46I think a lot of people, I'll say it this way, and then we'll take another break.
- 8:49I think a lot of people in the middle reside there, like politically that's their ideology,
- 8:55partly because they want everyone to be good people.
- 8:59They don't want to see the bad in the side that they're willing to vote for some of the
- 9:03time, whichever that is, whether there's someone who votes a little bit more democratic, but
- 9:08will vote for a Republican every so often, or vice versa.
- 9:12And I do think by and large people favor a side.
- 9:14I think to talk about an independent as truly someone who 50-50 votes each way is also kind
- 9:22of ridiculous because I don't think it exists.
- 9:25But I think people who do occasionally vote from the side, maybe that they're more often
- 9:30likely to punch a ticket for, they do it partially because they just want to believe in the inherent
- 9:34good in everyone.
- 9:35So the more that message exists that these people are radical and terrible and awful,
- 9:39The more those people in the middle just dismiss it because they just don't want to believe it to be true
- 9:45They just don't want to accept the idea that Mamadami and all of his ilk in Talarico here in Texas.
- 9:53So much desire for a state run version of every single state in this country that owns everything.
- 10:01That they take over the means to production and they do it in a way where they convince you it's for your benefit.
- 10:07And then you immediately realize when it doesn't work how horrible that decision was.
- 10:11Like, I do think, again, that it's sort of obvious when you talk about these things,
- 10:17where the radical left actually is, but I just think there's people in the middle who
- 10:21plug their nose or plug their ears.
- 10:23They hold up their nose to the idea of it and they just move on.
- 10:26They just want to think everybody is better than we know everybody to be.
- 10:30And how do you reach those people is, I mean, I guess, a big part of the question of the
- 10:34show today.
- 10:35All right, we'll take a break.
- 10:36We'll come back with some more Trump audio and some other things on The Voice of Texas.

- 11:11Your home team for Conservative Talk Radio, the voice of Texas.
- 11:18Hi y'all, it's Kathy from Baker Mortgage. You know, with all the scary stuff we've been through, it's still true that timing is everything, and the time to buy is now.
- 11:27But don't go looking without a solid pre-approval in hand. And this includes an application and a detailed discussion about property taxes.
- 11:35If you didn't have the talk, you know, about property taxes,
- 11:39you really don't know what you're pre-approved for.
- 11:41That should make you wonder what else they may have left out.
- 11:44Mortgages are personal.
- 11:45Let's face it, we're dealing with your home and your money.
- 11:48And it doesn't get much more personal than that.
- 11:50When it's the largest transaction that most people will ever be involved in,
- 11:54imagine having someone on your side looking out after you.
- 11:57What a concept.
- 11:59We audit your closing statement to make sure you're not paying for things
- 12:02that you're not supposed to.
- 12:03Do you think your big bank's gonna do that?
- 12:06Probably not.
- 12:06For all of your mortgage needs, call us at Baker Mortgage.
- 12:09I promise you'll be glad you did.
- 12:11We're at 281-313-MOOVE or go directly to BakerMorgage.com.

- 12:23with your host and CEO of Allied Wealth Texas,
- 12:26Ryan Wielis, who can help you live your richest life
- 12:28possible during your retirement years.
- 12:31That's each Sunday at 9am right here on AM700 KSEV.
- 12:46KSEV radio, the voice of Texas.
- 12:49My name is Craig Coglianese.
- 12:51Thrilled to be with you.
- 12:52Wayne Dolcefino on special assignment.
- 12:54The President of the United States on, I think this was Friday night, was crapping all over.
- 13:00James Talarico again because James Talarico deserves it. Let's actually see
- 13:06if this should be playing. Let me start that over one more time. Here we go.
- 13:12And you know when I see that Talafrico in Texas. So he's been a
- 13:19vegan all his life. He's campaigned on. He's a vegan. I didn't even know what
- 13:23the hell a vegan was. A vegan is vegetables. A vegan is eating a piece of
- 13:27Let us all day long.
- 13:29A vegan.
- 13:29I do love vegan.
- 13:32How great that is that the President of the United States doesn't understand vegan.
- 13:36He's like, I don't know what this is.
- 13:37Why would I have any idea?
- 13:39Because meat is delicious.
- 13:40But yeah, Trump will probably campaign more and more against Talifrico himself.
- 13:46More and more people will come here and campaign against Talifrico and how crazy and awful
- 13:51and terrible he is as a person.
- 13:53Like we're going to hear more and more of this from a whole lot of other individuals
- 13:59because you need to.
- 14:01I just, I don't know.
- 14:03All right.
- 14:03We'll move on from that.
- 14:04Maybe we'll revisit that after the 830 break.
- 14:07Let's do this.
- 14:09Iran's oil minister has resigned.
- 14:11No reason has been given for that.
- 14:13Iran says no military solution to the conflict with the US as talks remain at a dead end.
- 14:18And also in Iran, they're losing some of their leverage over the Strait of Hormuz
- 14:24because the US is doing a lot of the heavy lifting and fixing it.
- 14:29The President of the United States came out and told people to do more of the work themselves,
- 14:33saying that he's done a lot and it's time for other people to act.
- 14:37Here's exactly what President Trump said on Truth Social.
- 14:41All of those countries that can't get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom,
- 14:46which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran.
- 14:51I have a suggestion for you.
- 14:52This is the president.
- 14:53Number one, buy from the US.
- 14:55We have plenty of jet fuel.
- 14:57Number two, build up some delayed courage,
- 15:00go to the straight and just take it.
- 15:02You'll have to start learning how to fight for yourselves.
- 15:06The US won't be there for you forever.
- 15:08I'm paraphrasing a little bit,
- 15:09just like you weren't there to help us, brutal.
- 15:13Iran has been essentially decimated.
- 15:15the hard part is done, go get your own oil, President Donald J. Trump. I do believe that Trump is
- 15:24right in saying that if the other countries of the world had acted with the United States,
- 15:29this would be over quicker. There are two things playing against the US when it comes to Iran,
- 15:35and when it comes to some of those discussion points that I mentioned earlier in some of the
- 15:39places they're being reported on, like Iran says there's not going to be any sort of agreement at
- 15:44any point. The two weak points for us, one is very simplistic. One is very obvious, the midterm
- 15:51elections. Iran is hoping political pressure allows the United States to cede some level of
- 15:58ground that we don't militarily need to cede, that the power we have compared to them doesn't demand
- 16:04of us to to relent. The only thing they're hoping changes that is the political desire for Republicans
- 16:11Republicans to win elections and us to change how and I love that we haven't done that
- 16:16truthfully and I hope that we continue to not do that because
- 16:21This is not a defense of Biden and the terrible terrible exit he had in Afghanistan
- 16:25But the reason was so poorly planned was politics
- 16:28They wanted a political win of we got out nobody else got out
- 16:31We did it and so they just did it and they did it to the detriment of so many
- 16:35to military men and women who were killed as much as to the entirety of our country and their country
- 16:40and how long we fought a fight that we essentially just picked up and left. So I hate that. The other
- 16:46big weakness for us right now in this ongoing fight with Iran is the rest of the world sitting and
- 16:52watching and not deciding that they should act too in their own best interest. It's not in our best
- 16:58interest. They wouldn't do it to support us. They do it for themselves. If Iran is closing the
- 17:03of Hormuz because of some sort of, you know, thing they blame on us or on
- 17:07Israel and it hurts your country, whoever you are, shouldn't the response
- 17:12of your country be, well you can't do this, we're not involved, we're not
- 17:16fighting that part of the fight, but you can't, you know, indiscriminately hurt us
- 17:20in the process of claiming you're trying to do what you want. Like let's let's use
- 17:23this example differently. Let's say that Ukraine did something to pressure the
- 17:29rest of the world to support them other than beg for the support the way they
- 17:32did when they were invaded and attacked by Russia and we did support them and many people,
- 17:36many countries do.
- 17:38If Iran had done something to harm the rest of the, or excuse me, Ukraine had done something
- 17:42to harm the rest of the world, all that support would have evaporated.
- 17:45It all would have disappeared.
- 17:46It would all be gone right now.
- 17:48Iran is doing that and still essentially gaining support by people not acting, by not fighting.
- 17:55And in some cases, people like China actually seeming to aid them, similar to how we helped
- 18:01Ukraine in the fight against Russia.
- 18:04All of this seems crazy because again, Iran is doing the one thing that seems to demonstrate
- 18:09who they actually are as a country and as people.
- 18:11They don't give a crap about anyone but themselves and they do it in such a way that they don't
- 18:16even care about their own people.
- 18:18They are the worst version of a society and a corrupt government and terrorist funding
- 18:23organization and they prove it again and again and again and for some reason, somehow, everybody
- 18:29stands to the sidelines. All right, other things out there I do think are interesting. Latino
- 18:35Democrats are urging Democratic governors associations to put money behind Gina Hinoza
- 18:41in Texas. Hinojosa in Texas. You know what I think is really interesting about all of this money that
- 18:47flows from outside places? Because it's not Latinos just here in Texas that are saying that we want to
- 18:54have a different governor take over. We want someone to beat Greg Abbott. What they're actually
- 18:59begging for in all of these places is additional representation for them that just so happens
- 19:06to come out of Texas.
- 19:08Again, the amount of money that's being thrown at Talarico is designed very much to create
- 19:14another Senate position for California or New York or anywhere else and not represent
- 19:19the beliefs of Texas.
- 19:21If Gina is to win, she will do a lot of damage to a lot of the things that you and I actually
- 19:26care about as people who live in the state.
- 19:30Texans who want the best for the state itself, that won't be the initiative.
- 19:36And part of the reason why will be the money.
- 19:38A 16th- Oh, another reason that these Democrats flood this money this direction is very much
- 19:44because once they get somebody in office, that's when the favors start to be demanded.
- 19:49That's when someone will call or multiple people will call Gina and be like, hey, what's
- 19:53going on over here?
- 19:54What are you doing now that we got you elected?
- 19:57Why don't you pay back that favor that we gave you?
- 20:01It's very mob guys.
- 20:02I kind of like that we call ourselves the mob guys as a radio show
- 20:07Because hopefully we do it much more tongue-in-cheek
- 20:10And Wayne does seem to be exposing the mob guys on a daily basis
- 20:13But all these politicians do seem to in fact actually be the mob in the way they behave and certainly on the left
- 20:19this seems to be true and I think we're seeing that play out but when you have a
- 20:24Bunch of people all trying to flood certain races to get a win that they are not connected to like these individuals aren't moving to
- 20:31Texas anytime soon. I don't think that's the plan. So even
- 20:34more so, it's really just to upend our system. And then to
- 20:38motivate people, I've talked about this before, and I'll say
- 20:41it again, on the left, to, to show up at their own election in
- 20:45their own state, because they're doing well in Texas. This does
- 20:49motivate someone in Illinois, who doesn't need the motivation
- 20:52because they're a very blue state, or anywhere else to show
- 20:55up and vote too, because they think they're winning a larger
- 20:57fight. And actually, I didn't mention this earlier. I'll just say it now. I went out to breakfast on
- 21:05Sunday morning. And as I was driving, we passed by a group of people that were trying to get
- 21:10signatures for something. And I was curious what it was. So I investigated it a little bit more.
- 21:15And the individuals were trying to get people to sign documents that said,
- 21:18get ice out of Houston. That's all it said. Like, we want ice out. They need to leave,
- 21:24which is so stupid, and I'll explain why.
- 21:29If you think that ICE is operating inappropriately
- 21:32in our state, your actual problem isn't with ICE itself.
- 21:36ICE works for the government.
- 21:38ICE gets their marching orders from politicians
- 21:41and from organizations that then are people
- 21:45that are placed in power within organizations,
- 21:48all of which comes from politicians.
- 21:50So if you actually think that ICE, and I disagree with this,
- 21:52I think ICE is doing a good job in a lot of places, including here in Texas, in fixing
- 21:57a problem that we cannot allow to get worse, which has gotten over time, which is a whole
- 22:02bunch of people legally being in this country.
- 22:05But nonetheless, what I'll tell you is even the people who try to fight this thing do
- 22:09it on the lowest level, the stupidest, the dumbest way to me, because I don't think they
- 22:13actually understand how it works.
- 22:17Like when I was standing there listening to some of the conversations that happened, I
- 22:21most mystified by how idiotic, like, we just need ice to leave and then everything will be better.
- 22:28It's the same message for Democrats and for their supporters when they talk about police in general,
- 22:34or when they talk about things that makes Charles Barkley say that some of these ideas are stupid
- 22:38as bleep, which he did in an interview over the weekend, because they are. Because you're
- 22:44trying to fight the lowest rung of the system that you think is broken instead of fighting
- 22:49at the highest levels. And I do think one of the things that Republican voters more understand
- 22:55is that it's the politicians that are to blame, not anybody else. And so go after them, but don't
- 23:01go after the individuals who work for ICE and who are trying to clean up the streets and clean up
- 23:05our state and our communities from people who are doing bad things and hear illegally, which is also
- 23:13a crime in and of itself. But truthfully, and we're seeing so much data. Last thing I'll say about
- 23:19this topic just because it really hit me over the weekend that it can be that oversimplified
- 23:24by people here in this city.
- 23:28But the last thing that I was thinking a lot about is when you discuss what the next step
- 23:34is, what the right thing to do is how to fix the problems that we face, and you actually
- 23:39make them inherently worse, you immediately, hopefully learn from that mistake, but for
- 23:45some reason they keep not doing it.
- 23:46We have examples of parts of the country, especially just after COVID, who really did
- 23:52remove police from their communities, who really did have these zones.
- 23:58I think Seattle was one of the biggest places that did it, and it was horrible.
- 24:02What happened there was terrible.
- 24:04So instead of saying and admitting that my solution doesn't actually work, they just
- 24:09reintroduced the solution again a few weeks later and hope that you're stupid enough to
- 24:13forgotten what you saw the last time or if you've seen it here.
- 24:17But that's that's the other part that's amazing to me is even within our own
- 24:21country, we have definitive examples of how bad these concepts actually are in
- 24:26practice. All right. We'll take another break. We'll come back.
- 24:28We'll try to have a little fun. You know what? Screw it.
- 24:30We talk about so many serious things all the time on this show and other radio
- 24:34shows. And yet we're supposed to do fun stuff, too.
- 24:38So I'll have a quick four ish segment after this on KSEV mornings and the
- 24:43the voice of Texas.
- 24:57When it comes to garage doors no one knows more than the doctor.
- 25:03Garage door doctor.
- 25:05Hi I'm Tommy Mello CEO of Garage Door Doctor.
- 25:08Here's a question for you.
- 25:09When was the last time you thought about your garage door?
- 25:11Most people never do. The problem is that your garage drawer may be the hardest
- 25:15working appliance in your home. It opens and closes thousands of times every year,
- 25:20lifting hundreds of pounds each and every time. You change the oil in your
- 25:24car, you service your air conditioner, your garage drawer deserves the same
- 25:28attention. A simple tune-up catches warm parts before they fail. A tune-up keeps
- 25:33everything running quietly and can add years of life to your system. And that's
- 25:37why preventative maintenance is one of the smartest investments you can make
- 25:40for your garage door. Garage doors usually warn you before they break. We're here to
- 25:45help before that happens. Call today for a $29.95 tune up special. From repairs to upgrades,

- 26:07As a Texan, you deserve your court system to deliver justice that is fair, understandable,
- 26:13and within reach.
- 26:15Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock says that starts with judges applying the law as written, so
- 26:19the rules don't change depending on who walks into the courtroom.
- 26:23But fairness also means a court system that works for the people it serves.
- 26:27Blacklock has called for reducing unnecessary delays in expenses, simplifying court procedures,
- 26:32and making legal services more affordable.
- 26:35because a case should be decided on the facts and the law, not on who can afford the longest fight.
- 26:41Texas courts belong to the people. That means judges should be accountable, rules should be clear,
- 26:46and the system should be accessible to those who rely on it.
- 26:50For Blacklock, equal justice means more than a principle.
- 26:53It means a court system Texans can understand, trust, and afford to use.
- 26:58Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock, clear rules, accountable courts, equal justice under law.
- 27:05political ad paid for by the Jimmy Blacklock campaign. From the KSEV
- 27:10Weather Center today will be mostly sunny with a high of 86 tonight.
- 27:13Expect mostly cloudy skies with a low of 70 tomorrow will be sunny to partly
- 27:18cloudy with a high of 89 Wednesday will be very warm with variable cloudiness
- 27:22and a high of 91 Thursday will have the sun breaking through clouds at times
- 27:26reaching a high of 89 Friday will have intervals of clouds and sunshine with a
- 27:30high of 83 with the KSEV Weather Center forecast. I'm AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Lundgren.
- 27:48KSEV Radio, the voice of Texas, I will be filling in later today on the Dana Show. D Lash, Dana
- 27:55Lash Radio on X. A great way to stay connected to her is what I usually say in every single
- 28:00break and then at Radio Craig Coglianese If you for some reason want to follow me, although here
- 28:05at this station where I actually work, maybe there's a shot that more people will do it.
- 28:09She does a segment called the Quick Five, which is anything other than serious news.
- 28:14And sometimes we just desperately need that.
- 28:16So I'm going to do some of that real quick.
- 28:18Maybe we can just call this rapid fire on KSEV mornings and then we'll get back to the serious
- 28:23stuff.
- 28:24Some other things going on out there.
- 28:25An AI radio DJ has a quote shot at stardom in Los Angeles according to I think NBC News
- 28:33That did a report on this. There's a Spanish language like
- 28:38Country DJ. This is so weird. This is so in the weeds
- 28:42Coyotech I think is the the name of the guy he co-hosts a show with a human being
- 28:47Her name is Gigi Guzman and again
- 28:50Again it's a Spanish language show on a Spanish language station in California that is expanding.
- 28:57They're picking up more affiliates, more individuals will be airing the show, and it's creating
- 29:04certain questions within what my profession is, what we do for a living here at this radio
- 29:09station broadcasting, and what the likelihood is of more AI people eventually taking the
- 29:15jobs of real human beings.
- 29:17And I have somewhat of a nuanced thought on this.
- 29:21I think it's really important that it's a Spanish language station within the United
- 29:25States.
- 29:26And the reason I say that is because a lot of people who listen to a spoken Spanish
- 29:31word here in this country already feel a disassociation with the people on the air.
- 29:38Essentially meaning a lot of people already feel a closer tie to wherever they're from,
- 29:43Whether it's Mexico or some other Spanish-speaking country who just prefer like, you know definitively listen to Spanish radio
- 29:50I think people who listen to both
- 29:52English and Spanish radio would dislike this more. I think it's the people who really
- 29:57maybe don't even speak English well and listen predominantly to Spanish language in places like Macallan.
- 30:03I went to Macallan and I talked to Sergio Sanchez who does an amazing show out there and is another Dana affiliate.
- 30:10And he goes, you know part of our audience
- 30:12we can't reach them no matter what we say because they don't speak the language. They don't speak English in Macallan, Texas.
- 30:18And there's data that backs that up, the amount of people who really only speak a certain language.
- 30:23And that's a broken part of our country and our system, as many of us believe.
- 30:27If you live here, you probably should at least be fluent in English, if not in something else, fine,
- 30:32but at least speak the language of the rest of the people who live here.
- 30:37But I think that's why this is working, because I still believe that when you find out that someone is AI and not a real person,
- 30:44And if the AI is smart enough to deceive you long enough,
- 30:47you might not figure it out for a while,
- 30:49especially if you go the extra steps
- 30:51of following people on social media
- 30:52and watching AI videos of the AI host.
- 30:56But at some point when you discover it's not a real person,
- 30:58I think you'll feel betrayed.
- 31:00And I think the only reason that this might be working
- 31:02better here in California with the setup it has
- 31:06is because those individuals already might not feel
- 31:08as though they can connect with an American born host,
- 31:11which is a very different problem.
- 31:14But I do think that this is interesting
- 31:16and that people are highlighting
- 31:18and that NBC News is talking about like the win here,
- 31:21because I think that's gonna be true of a lot of jobs.
- 31:24I'll tell you another thing I truly hate.
- 31:26I hate it so much and it's happening so much more.
- 31:29And I'd actually love call-ins on this at KSEV Radio.
- 31:33So you can call in and throw your opinion out there.
- 31:36The call-in number for KSEV is 281-558-5738,
- 31:44I hate how AI has advanced so much that it's harder to get a real person when you call
- 31:50customer service.
- 31:51It was always hard.
- 31:53Everybody had the buttons you had to press and the things you had to do to force the
- 31:57computer to behave the way it was supposed to behave and get you to a person, but now
- 32:01it fights you more.
- 32:03Now I've noticed that if it's trying to really pretend as though it's not a computer, it's
- 32:10a fully functioning AI, it really doesn't want you to talk
- 32:14to a person. And that drives me insane. Because even if the AI
- 32:18could handle it, I actually don't want to talk to them. I
- 32:21want to talk to a human, especially if I'm mad about
- 32:23something, something involved in, you know, something I've done
- 32:27as a customer, I bought something, I don't like it. I
- 32:30want the person I talked to to understand the emotional
- 32:33frustration I have, not just like to understand my objection,
- 32:37but I want them to know, I don't know where it's coming from. I
- 32:40like that. When I talk to customer service and they say,
- 32:43I'm sorry, you're experiencing this, I like that. And the AI,
- 32:47the robot can't do it. And so part of me is wondering the ways
- 32:50in which you see more and more of the inevitable intrusion of
- 32:54this technology in our society, if one of those things that
- 32:57happens is more and more people get annoyed like I do just
- 33:01interacting with a robot that you're forced to interact with
- 33:04when you're calling a customer service phone number, because I
- 33:06think that's the first version of a universal experience that
- 33:10a lot of us can say, Hey, I really don't like this a 281
- 33:155585738. If you also can think of another instance where when
- 33:19you interact with technology, you're actually just really
- 33:22annoyed by it because I think that's also true. Another thing
- 33:25out there that I thought was interesting. teens tick tock
- 33:29stunt ended horribly after he filmed himself cutting his hair
- 33:33in the middle of the road. This happened in Florida. He was
- 33:37actually hospitalized in serious condition because he was hit by
- 33:39a car. I have audio of a police officer and a witness talking about the the
- 33:44incident involving the teenagers. But essentially they were trying to do a
- 33:48stunt where they ran to the middle of the road on a busy street or on a
- 33:51highway and then cut their hair and then ran back and filmed it all for social
- 33:55media. And you can tell how stupid this is. Here's a police officer and a
- 33:59witness talking about it.
- 34:01He wanted to use a roadway as they're set.
- 34:04I pray for the kid who just got hit and his family.
- 34:07I was giving my boy a haircut, hearing a whole bunch of guitars, guitar screeches, and stuff like that.
- 34:16Yeah, next thing I know I'm gonna say.
- 34:17Flat text.
- 34:18She was very distraught. It is a lot to take in. I don't think he realized the severity of it at first.
- 34:24Don't put your life or anybody's life at risk for the likes. It's not worth it.
- 34:28I kind of really loved that last part of that message there. Like, don't put your life or anybody else's life at risk just to get some social media interaction because it's definitely worth it.
- 34:36for anybody's life I risk for the likes.
- 34:39It's not worth it.
- 34:39I wonder what you also do, because I would say if you're a parent and your kid is doing
- 34:45anything in the world of the internet where they're getting more and more involved and
- 34:48more and more say obsessed with how well they're doing in the world of technology, how well
- 34:54they're doing in social media, if they're getting enough interactions, I think you should
- 34:59be worried.
- 35:00I think most people should be worried if their kid is starting to really even assess their
- 35:05own value based on how many strangers like the things they put up on the
- 35:09internet because I think that's uniquely damaging to children and I think that
- 35:14this is the outcome in that world of that kind of thing that you see more and
- 35:18more of and thankfully the individual who's in serious condition I think is
- 35:21believed that he's gonna wind up being okay but again this is the kind of thing
- 35:27we're also seeing more and more of. One last sillier topic or I guess just not
- 35:32political because that one was certainly still serious. But I
- 35:35saw the best time to eat breakfast is between seven and
- 35:39eight o'clock. Well, we are on the radio here in this state at
- 35:43this station in Houston. 40% of people say that they already do
- 35:47this. But 31,000 Americans were surveyed. And some of the
- 35:52different data you found as far as their health is concerned, I
- 35:56was also a part of this study. And it found that people who eat
- 36:00between seven and eight o'clock, overwhelmingly healthier.
- 36:03And I don't know if that means that people who eat
- 36:05like exceptionally later just have weirder schedules,
- 36:08because if you're waking up and having breakfast
- 36:10at say 11 or 12, maybe there's some reason to think
- 36:12that that's worse for you.
- 36:14I don't know.
- 36:16But it does seem to just simply be an accurate thing to say
- 36:20that this study found that having a consistent body
- 36:23eternal clock, your body's eternal clock,
- 36:25or your circadian rhythm and your metabolism
- 36:29I'm all being matched up in a certain way to where you're waking up similarly to when
- 36:33the sun comes up, that you're definitively a healthier person.
- 36:37And I'll just tell you in response to this story, it's the kind of thing that I never
- 36:40want to tell my wife.
- 36:42I find it because I work in radio.
- 36:44I realize that there's other people in radio who might also talk about this and she might
- 36:48hear it somewhere, but I just don't want to be the person who brings that message home
- 36:52because she'll just nod her head and be like, I told you, I knew I was right.
- 36:55I knew you got to wake up earlier, Craig.
- 36:56I know you got to get to certain things sooner in the day because it's just going to make your life
- 37:01better. But now that I do a morning show actually that's sort of no longer a challenge,
- 37:06it might have been before when I worked other shifts and really I love sleeping in. I love it.
- 37:11On the weekend I love doing it too and it also drives my wife crazy. All right, one serious thing
- 37:17and then we'll take a break and we'll come back and we'll close with a lot of actual news stuff.
- 37:21Jake Tapper asked Scott Jennings if holding your nose and voting for Ken Paxton is a winning strategy.
- 37:28Jake Tapper's a piece of crap a whole lot of the time on CNN.
- 37:31He also loves to say bad words now, which kind of surprises me.
- 37:35He'll do it in a way that he thinks is journalistically important, like when he's quoting somebody else.
- 37:41And I know it's cable. I know they can do what they want, but this is a guy who drops F-bombs occasionally on cable television now
- 37:48without really warning the audience it's going to happen.
- 37:50But here he is asking a question to Scott Jennings who I really like about Ken Paxton and about that race and about
- 37:57People who just simply feel that he's not the candidate they would have wanted even if they can't possibly support
- 38:04Talarico at the same time
- 38:07And she says she urges voters to vote for the Republican ticket
- 38:11Will hold your nose and vote for Ken Paxton be a winning message or an sufficient? Well, I hope so
- 38:17I mean, I mean look it's it's something that people are talking about down there the fact that she
- 38:23Decided to go out and become part of this campaign is
- 38:27Noteworthy and I mean two things can be true. You could think Ken Paxton has made, you know bad personal decisions
- 38:33But at the same time, you know, I don't want to put my face in a wood chipper and I like Democrats around the country
- 38:38I mean they've gone plumb crazy right now
- 38:39With all the socialism and the abolish ice and the abolish prisons and the abolish borders, etc, etc
- 38:44So just because I have some quibble with Kim Paxton's personal life doesn't mean I have
- 38:49to turn the country over to people who hate it.
- 38:51And so I think that's a pretty decent message.
- 38:53All right, I actually I want to play that last part because I love that last part.
- 38:56Polish eyes and the abolished prisons and the abolished borders, etc, etc.
- 38:59Just so just because I have some quibble with Kim Paxton's personal life doesn't mean I
- 39:04have to turn the country over to people who hate it.
- 39:06And so I think that's a pretty decent message.
- 39:08Yeah, I think that's a great message.
- 39:09And I do think one of the weirder things that's happened in the world of political infighting
- 39:13and political like campaigning is trying to rip apart the personal life of someone, or
- 39:20at least in the case of President Trump, just full on throw him in jail and try to go that
- 39:24road to defeat him.
- 39:25When that might have very little, if actually nothing to do with what would inevitably be
- 39:30the way that someone runs an actual campaign or the way that someone actually runs the
- 39:35job of whatever office position they get.
- 39:37Senator, I don't care what it is. If, you know, how you treat your spouse and if you're someone who's
- 39:45been unfaithful, if that's something that actually is relevant to how you're going to be a senator.
- 39:51To be honest, and this is horrible to say, but I'll say it, and then we'll take the last break
- 39:54and we'll come back.
- 39:55Ken Paxton is someone who's been very faithful to the Republican Party and very faithful to President Trump and done a lot of things as an attorney general that demonstrates a value system that I very much support politically in doing the thing that's hard to do, doing the thing that maybe other people won't do and other attorney generals, attorneys general throughout the country don't do.
- 40:17It's just really interesting to me that that's the kind of thing that proves that he is actually a person who has a
- 40:25Code of conduct that he follows very closely in the world of politics and that should be all that matters to me
- 40:31And anyone who tells me the opposite who tells me his personal life is some demonstration
- 40:36Of how he'll actually behave or what you know, he'll do in office
- 40:40They they absolutely aren't following the political career of a Ken Paxton
- 40:44They're only following the personal life version of it, and I'm not I'm not defending that stuff
- 40:48I'm just saying that it's interesting to see how a very much
- 40:54Like you know the opposites Ken paxon is when it comes to his
- 40:59Absolute commitment to the side of the aisle that he's on politically all right quick break a lot more Craig Coglianese on

- 44:21My name is Craig Coglianese.
- 44:22Wayne Dolcefino is on special assignment.
- 44:25He will be back tomorrow.
- 44:27Lots and lots of stuff going on in the world though.
- 44:29Let's get to some serious things before we get out of here.
- 44:31with only a few minutes left.
- 44:33I do still want, if someone wants to call in
- 44:36and talk about how annoyed they are
- 44:37when they have to talk to an AI robot,
- 44:40when they do any sort of customer service,
- 44:42because there's just so many systems now
- 44:45that kind of demand or try to demand
- 44:47that you don't talk to an actual human being,
- 44:49281-558-5738, if you want to call in about that,
- 44:53281-558-5738.
- 44:56And I just yell agent into the phone
- 44:58until a human being actually gets on.
- 45:00This is interesting to me.
- 45:03An attorney general on the Facebook page three days ago
- 45:07put something out about Kathy Hochul, the New York governor.
- 45:11She was asked about this and she responded to it
- 45:13in sort of a ridiculous way,
- 45:15the way that you expect people to.
- 45:18This is making the news nationally.
- 45:19Let's go ahead and hit play on this.
- 45:21Attorney general on your Facebook page three days ago,
- 45:23you wrote, what this young woman has been forced to endure
- 45:26is horrific and unacceptable.
- 45:27I'm holding her in my heart and in my prayers to her and to all survivors.
- 45:31You're not alone.
- 45:32We stand with you.
- 45:33Why did you affirm her allegations as fact without doing your own fact finding investigation
- 45:39into the governor?
- 45:40Why did you appoint an official who made a public statement affirm allegations as fact
- 45:47as someone who's supposed to be doing an investigation?
- 45:49This is so, so good.
- 45:51But why do people like Letitia James in New York, the attorney general there, actually
- 45:58put stuff on social media when they're supposed to be the person that's trying the hardest
- 46:04to not be biased, to be independent and to go get the information, get the truth before
- 46:10then telling us what they think?
- 46:11Why do they have to share their opinion so quickly?
- 46:14We have this happen here in Houston and in Texas.
- 46:17Our own leaders, the ones who are supposed to be doing our investigations, often seem to give their own opinion way too quickly, way too early on in that process. Here's how Hochul and James answered it.
- 46:30I will answer that. I have every confidence in our Attorney General to do what she has always done. Look at the facts, examine the record, and draw the proper conclusions. That's exactly what's going to happen in this case.
- 46:43Attorney General, please.
- 46:44I will not comment on a Facebook post.
- 46:47Okay, why I love this so much is Hochul has to feel like she got stabbed in the back there
- 46:54because the question is ridiculous.
- 46:56The question is, why would the attorney general in New York seem to take a side long before
- 47:01they have enough information to know which side of anything they're supposed to be on?
- 47:06And Hochul drove deep into the paint.
- 47:08She was throwing elbows like Shaq in the late 90s, early 2000s, just dominant as far as
- 47:14like everything's going great.
- 47:15And then James immediately played to the fifth.
- 47:18Who made a public statement.
- 47:19Oh, it's so good.
- 47:21Affirming those allegations as fact
- 47:23as someone who's supposed to be doing an investigation.
- 47:26I will answer that.
- 47:27I have every confidence in our attorney general.
- 47:29She's amazing.
- 47:30To do what she has always done.
- 47:32Look at the facts, examine the record.
- 47:34How dare anybody say anything different.
- 47:34For all the proper conclusions.
- 47:35That's exactly what's going to happen in this case.
- 47:38Go ahead and turn to general.
- 47:39What do you want to say?
- 47:39I will not comment on a Facebook post.
- 47:41Again, I love that so much.
- 47:44That's so great.
- 47:45Because when you start doing some investigations that hopefully they're actually doing in New
- 47:50York and any of the cases that they talk about there, and you start to realize that the things
- 47:54you said are not accurate, that some of the way in which you shaped it, like our own leaders,
- 48:01as I said here, and I think it was the CBS news story that went viral, where there was
- 48:06demonstration that there's tremendous bias, tremendous opinion going into
- 48:14investigating something from the people in political positions who most need to
- 48:18look into things from a non-bias. Like how do you discover the truth if you
- 48:23believe that, and in this case what I'm actually quoting is when we heard some
- 48:29of our own leadership say that you know ICE is out there to fight people. ICE is
- 48:36of confusion and moments of chaos in order to shoot people that are innocent.
- 48:42That's something we heard from one of our own leaders here in Texas.
- 48:45It's just crazy to me, or one of our own leaders in Harris County, because when you hear someone
- 48:50say that and then they're supposed to go back behind closed doors and look hard at evidence
- 48:55and figure out what's true or not, you know that confirmation bias is at the forefront
- 49:00of what they're actually going to find.
- 49:01If they find 20 pieces of information that seem to back up the idea that the ICE agent acted reasonably,
- 49:08and they had every reason to say fear for the life if they chose to use their weapon during any sort of ICE pursuit or ICE investigation or ICE apprehension of someone,
- 49:20if that ever happens and you have someone who believes that ICE is trying to manipulate these situations to kill people,
- 49:26there's no way that you see that evidence correctly.
- 49:28There's no way that you can articulate or even perceive the correct version of what's
- 49:37supposed to be non-bias if you can't rest for a few minutes.
- 49:41That's the other thing.
- 49:42And I'll say this as we're getting close to the end of the show that did kind of annoy
- 49:47me with Kristi Noem from time to time, and I think it's true of a lot of politicians
- 49:51like that, is like you went out too early.
- 49:53You gave your opinion too early.
- 49:54You did it for political reasons too.
- 49:56When you go out too early on something and you say what you think happened before you
- 50:01know what happened, the only reason you do that is because of a political desire to win,
- 50:07to get something here that you wouldn't normally get, say, if politics didn't matter.
- 50:14If you could just silence your own political career for a few minutes, I think there's
- 50:18a lot of people who do better.
- 50:20Let's play one last thing.
- 50:21I do think this is interesting too.
- 50:23Scott Jennings, also from CNN, also with Jake Tapper, was blowing the lid off of a cost
- 50:28of living argument for Democrats.
- 50:30I thought this was really good.
- 50:32You'll probably hear me talk about this more on the Dana show today from two to four o'clock.
- 50:36I think it's pretty simple. If I were running a campaign right now, I'd say the people who dug a very deep hole are making you one promise.
- 50:43Go back to the shovels and I wouldn't let them do it. I think the Republicans have great points to make.
- 50:48I think they've passed legislation. I've not heard a single Democrat campaign argue what bill or policy they would change.
- 50:54They want to go back to the way they were doing it and most of the cost of living in this country that people are mad about
- 50:59came under Democrat.
- 51:00Yes, most of the cost of living problems that have happened over the last few years in this country
- 51:04started to happen when Democrats were in office and started to get a little bit
- 51:09better and then of course the the war in Iran made them worse which I'm not gonna
- 51:13pretend that's not true but but nonetheless as you say that like you
- 51:16wonder how you could possibly go back to the side that was failing as bad as they
- 51:19were and that feels like a more simplified and valuable message than
- 51:23anything else. It's crazy how quick this show goes we're already almost out of
- 51:27time on our two-hour morning show radio show in the voice of Texas. Thrilled to
- 51:32be with you every single day. Wayne Dolcefino will be back
- 51:36tomorrow on the show. We'll probably dive deeper. I just
- 51:39want to throw this out there in an ongoing basis, not just
- 51:43tomorrow, but probably quite often. And it started because AI
- 51:46that we're going to do it. So I can crap on AI and like it at the
- 51:49same time. But nonetheless, part of the thing we'll be doing is
- 51:53giving you more of that reporting that D'Alciofino
- 51:55consulting is doing because it's pretty great. And honestly, the
- 51:59story they just broke over the weekend of a person running for office who's
- 52:04accused of some really horrible stuff but he's a Democrat so it becomes stuff
- 52:08we talk about less often is just sort of mystifying to me like it's funny that
- 52:13Paxton is so constantly berated and talked about from a person standpoint
- 52:19from a you know how he lives his private life standpoint and then you have another
- 52:23example another example of a horrible behaving human being who runs on the
- 52:28other side of the aisle and you're like, well, but that doesn't matter. But then it's about politics.
- 52:32It's not about this other stuff. If it's a Democrat, how dare you? All right, we'll come back tomorrow.
- 52:37We'll do the whole thing. Technology will all be fixed to work even better. KSEV,
- 52:42mornings, the voice of Texas. I'll talk to you next time.
