- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whist stuck his
- 0:07Speaker 1: forse and they were a whist So, yeah, it's too bad.
- 0:11Speaker 1: But what did you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five whistles wine. All right,
- 0:19Speaker 2: let's go. Who's got a whistle ding it? Mike's I
- 0:22Speaker 2: got to his bag. Hit you with a dang it?
- 0:26Speaker 2: He's going deep in his bag. All right, we can
- 0:31Speaker 2: start the show. What's up everybody? Michael was thinking about
- 0:34Speaker 2: you all. The guy run the sub two hour marathon?
- 0:37Speaker 1: Crazy. I don't know how crazy that is. So how
- 0:41Speaker 1: crazy is it?
- 0:41Speaker 3: I can run a half in the amount that he
- 0:43Speaker 3: did the fool that's wild.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but for you, I think that's wild. For me,
- 0:48Speaker 2: I don't think I get it yet.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I know.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I was reading a story about a guy in twenty
- 0:52Speaker 2: thirteenteen who said he thought he would never see someone
- 0:55Speaker 2: break two hours in his lifetime, and he was a
- 0:58Speaker 2: running rider, and so only took thirteen years for that
- 1:01Speaker 2: to happen.
- 1:02Speaker 3: So if it's a sub two hour marathon, what four
- 1:06Speaker 3: minutes and thirty three seconds per mile?
- 1:08Speaker 1: That is insane.
- 1:09Speaker 3: For twenty six minles, Wow, I think the fastest I've
- 1:12Speaker 3: ever run one mile is maybe like six fifty and so.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Marathon average is what four hours. I don't know about
- 1:19Speaker 1: an average. I think it's a different for everybody.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Really, the fastest I've done it is three hours and
- 1:25Speaker 3: twenty three minutes.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Okay, so yeah, everybody's freaking out. And I think the
- 1:31Speaker 2: other guy beat did he beat two hours as well?
- 1:34Speaker 2: With the other guys you beat him?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:35Speaker 2: Did two people beat two hours? But yeah, the one
- 1:38Speaker 2: that is no way at the same time. Yeah, that's tough.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So it converts. It converts to if you're running, I
- 1:46Speaker 2: can think about running a four hundred. Me running a
- 1:49Speaker 2: hard four hundred back in high school, and I'm gonna be.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Off of my time a little bit. I felt was
- 1:54Speaker 1: like one twenty or something minute twenty hard as I could.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I could be off about that, But this is running
- 2:01Speaker 2: it at a minute eight seconds a lap.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The entire twenty six months.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Four hundred is one lap. Yeah, around the track. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 4: that's amazing.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I think I'm supposed to respect it more, and I
- 2:12Speaker 2: do because everybody else respects. It's freaking out. I just
- 2:14Speaker 2: don't have the knowledge of running. But a four minute
- 2:17Speaker 2: mile for twenty six miles is crazy.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Where's he from? I mean he's from another country, right, Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 4: he's not American.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I think maybe Nigeria. Mike can find that. But I
- 2:30Speaker 2: had that to lead. I just didn't answer from Kenya.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Okay, so Africa. There's some fast Kenyons. Like I think
- 2:38Speaker 1: running is their sport? Is it? Is it?
- 2:39Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna ask, like is that just
- 2:41Speaker 4: what they do? Like out of the womb, we're gonna
- 2:43Speaker 4: start running. I think running there's for you can do
- 2:45Speaker 4: it anywhere. Yeah, so that happened. We can talk NFL
- 2:48Speaker 4: draft a little bit. Where did you watch the Cowboys
- 2:51Speaker 4: call to Caleb Downs? I did pretty cool? I did
- 2:53Speaker 4: really cool. I love all the calls. I think the
- 2:55Speaker 4: calls are so cool and especially just how different the
- 2:58Speaker 4: players answer the phone, you know, like some of them
- 3:00Speaker 4: were like.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Wow, coach is amazing, thank you.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Like Caleb was so excited to get that call. Some
- 3:06Speaker 4: other ones like so Jerry.
- 3:08Speaker 2: It'd be pretty cool to be drafted by the Cowboys,
- 3:11Speaker 2: even if you're not a Cowboys fan, Like that's an
- 3:12Speaker 2: organization you want to play for because it's prime time. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 2: it's old but still cool new, like the Packers are
- 3:20Speaker 2: old and it's cool because it's old, but they're not.
- 3:23Speaker 2: It's not cool because it's also that they're like new
- 3:25Speaker 2: and real. I want to say relevant. They've have won before,
- 3:30Speaker 2: but people don't. How would I phrase this? The Cowboys
- 3:34Speaker 2: are still today cool as much as they were old cool.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, the logo, cheerleaders, the stadium, the whole brand. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 1: there's like new elements of that. That's cool.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Where the Packers, it's like it's only cool because they've
- 3:47Speaker 2: been around forever.
- 3:49Speaker 4: And what's cool is when Jerry talks to these players,
- 3:50Speaker 4: he tells them like, you're gonna have a star in
- 3:53Speaker 4: your helmet. Like that's his kind of like stamp right there,
- 3:56Speaker 4: like congratulations, welcome to the Cowboys. You're gonna have a
- 3:59Speaker 4: star in your helmet.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Do you feel like you wish that Jerry wasn't in
- 4:03Speaker 2: that position? Let me tell you something.
- 4:06Speaker 4: For the first time, I have felt like the ownership
- 4:12Speaker 4: is a problem. Like I've always been the defender of like,
- 4:15Speaker 4: oh man, they're a family business, you know, like they're
- 4:17Speaker 4: the owners. Let them decide what's best for the team.
- 4:20Speaker 4: They want to win too, like they don't want to lose.
- 4:22Speaker 4: That's always been my stance. I don't know, after seeing
- 4:25Speaker 4: the draft and seeing that war room where it is
- 4:29Speaker 4: ninety percent family members, it is like ninety percent family
- 4:32Speaker 4: members and a few coaches. I don't know how a
- 4:35Speaker 4: coach can go into that organization and feel like they
- 4:37Speaker 4: have any power to make a decision on that team.
- 4:41Speaker 1: But I think that affects who they hire as a coach. Now.
- 4:44Speaker 2: They hire coaches that don't demand that power, and I
- 4:47Speaker 2: don't think that's a winning it. It hasn't been, you
- 4:51Speaker 2: know what I mean. I mean, look Schottenheimer now or.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Shottenheimer.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I keep thinking Brian, Yeah, I think of his dad, Yeah, Marty, Yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 2: so it's Schottenheimer.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Now.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Look at Jason Garrett, like you just go back to
- 5:03Speaker 2: the coaches. They're mostly and I say this is respectful.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I know what you're saying, Like, yes, many little tail
- 5:10Speaker 2: between their legs because that I don't know how a
- 5:14Speaker 2: coach can go in there and be like, all right,
- 5:16Speaker 2: family members all around me, you're gonna do what I say.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Like Mike McCarthy goes in, right, he'd been fired. He
- 5:23Speaker 2: comes in, he's like knows what he's doing, knows what
- 5:26Speaker 2: he's talking about. I mean, Pittsburgh just hired him. But
- 5:28Speaker 2: like he's not really a guy that you're coming in
- 5:30Speaker 2: that's got the bravado and the ego that like, I'm
- 5:32Speaker 2: that dude they don't hire.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I'm that dude.
- 5:34Speaker 2: They haven't hired.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I'm that dude since jimm John.
- 5:36Speaker 4: Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, Yeah, Switzer after Jimmy John's. Yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 4: I guess Parcels maybe tried, but he didn't last.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Hey, that's why it didn't last. But also they weren't winning. No,
- 5:48Speaker 1: that's Drew ble that's when he brought Drew Blitzer to
- 5:50Speaker 1: the Cowboys.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Dude, you know what they'll like. And I'm talking about
- 5:54Speaker 4: like because I made this comment. We were watching it
- 5:55Speaker 4: with all my kids were there. They got excited, they
- 5:57Speaker 4: wore jerseys like it was really cool, like a good
- 6:00Speaker 4: family event for like a Cowboys family to watch the draft.
- 6:03Speaker 4: But then I was like, see that little guy right there,
- 6:06Speaker 4: Like there's the grandson right It's like, I.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Don't know how old is he now. He looks like
- 6:10Speaker 2: he's still like nineteen.
- 6:11Speaker 4: He may be older than that, but I'm like, what's
- 6:14Speaker 4: crazy about this scenario is that that kid right there
- 6:17Speaker 4: is going to be your owner, Like when you're my
- 6:20Speaker 4: Game of Thrones when you're my age, that's going to
- 6:23Speaker 4: be the owner of the Dallas Cowboys unless they sell.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I could see them selling at some point, dude. Yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I mean they can only stay a family business for
- 6:31Speaker 2: so long. Not according to the family, but just with
- 6:34Speaker 2: the history of sports teams owned by families, there have
- 6:36Speaker 2: been a couple that have kept it.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Like I guess the Bears that they're broke.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I don't. I don't know if you cared about the
- 6:44Speaker 2: Cowboys and if you thought it was now time for
- 6:47Speaker 2: a change. I thought they finally had a good draft
- 6:49Speaker 2: and then Eddie's like, let's change him out.
- 6:51Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'm not saying that. I thought it was
- 6:52Speaker 4: a great draft. I thought the draft was great. It's
- 6:54Speaker 4: just for the first time I felt like, wow, this
- 6:57Speaker 4: is crazy. Like, I don't I don't know how we're
- 6:58Speaker 4: going to hire a coach like you won't be a
- 7:01Speaker 4: leader on this team.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think any coach will take that job.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I think the leader thing is unfair, but I think
- 7:08Speaker 2: you won't have a coach that takes that job, that
- 7:12Speaker 2: wants to make the decisions full decisions about that job,
- 7:19Speaker 2: like a general manager John Harball type and John Harball's
- 7:22Speaker 2: not even the GM, but he's really.
- 7:23Speaker 1: The dude making the decisions.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But we've heard stories too where it's not only front
- 7:27Speaker 4: office decisions, it's like play calling decisions, like all kinds
- 7:31Speaker 4: of decisions where they well.
- 7:32Speaker 2: That would be me if I own a team, I'd
- 7:33Speaker 2: for sure I'd have a headset on for sure.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Anyway, I oh, no, guys, I think we should go
- 7:38Speaker 1: for it here.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Pavia was not drafted at all, which isn't a surprise
- 7:45Speaker 2: to me that he wasn't drafted. It was a surprise
- 7:48Speaker 2: to me that he did not get picked up as
- 7:49Speaker 2: a free agent, so he was not even a free agent.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He's going to go to the Ravens rookie mini camp,
- 7:56Speaker 2: which heck I got invited to that, did you?
- 7:58Speaker 1: Good Man?
- 7:59Speaker 2: And people were debating is it because he wasn't good enough?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Is it because of his attitude all the things that
- 8:08Speaker 2: come along with him. NFL teams don't want to have
- 8:11Speaker 2: a backup quarterback be any sort of headline. When you're
- 8:16Speaker 2: the backup quarterback, you just need to have nobody care
- 8:19Speaker 2: about you and be there in case the quarterback goes down.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So wherever Pavia goes backup quarterback and headlines.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Is he good enough.
- 8:28Speaker 2: He's good enough to probably get drafted, but I say
- 8:31Speaker 2: probably after he lost the Heisman and he was at
- 8:34Speaker 2: the bar with that f Indiana sign, Like, that's not
- 8:38Speaker 2: somebody that you're gonna stretch yourself to bring in with
- 8:42Speaker 2: any sort of draft. So I'm surprised he didn't get
- 8:48Speaker 2: picked up as.
- 8:49Speaker 1: A free agent.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'm not surprised he didn't get drafted, but he's just
- 8:54Speaker 2: gonna go to camp. It's like a walk on over
- 8:57Speaker 2: here to lipskimb.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Did you expect for him to get drafted?
- 9:03Speaker 2: No?
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't either.
- 9:04Speaker 2: If anything, I thought late seventh round. What I was
- 9:07Speaker 2: really shocked by is that nus Meyer went so so
- 9:09Speaker 2: so late because he was ESPN's rankings. He was a
- 9:12Speaker 2: third quarterback overall, and so obviously Mendoza went, then ty
- 9:17Speaker 2: Simpson went, and then Beck went, and I'm thinking, well,
- 9:22Speaker 2: nus Meyer's got to be drafted, and then these random
- 9:24Speaker 2: dudes started falling out, and I kept thinking the Saints
- 9:27Speaker 2: were going to draft in round six or seven because
- 9:30Speaker 2: his dad's offensive coordinator there. They didn't pick him, and
- 9:34Speaker 2: so then I started just digging into why, and it's
- 9:37Speaker 2: a couple of things, depending on who you believe, because
- 9:39Speaker 2: he was a quarterback at LSU, and had he come
- 9:41Speaker 2: out a year ago, he'd probably been a top five pick.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Two things that I read neither could be true. Both
- 9:47Speaker 2: could be true. One, he had an injury all year. Now,
- 9:52Speaker 2: that doesn't keep you from getting drafted, but it possibly
- 9:56Speaker 2: keeps you from getting drafted in the first four or
- 9:59Speaker 2: five rounds.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But you'd have an injury all year.
- 10:01Speaker 2: But everyone was acting like his interviews were terrible, like
- 10:05Speaker 2: he was mister Noah all in all the interviews and
- 10:07Speaker 2: not in a good way. And so I think the
- 10:10Speaker 2: combination of him being hurt and his interviews going so
- 10:14Speaker 2: poorly from what I read, again, I know nobody involved
- 10:19Speaker 2: in his process that that's why he didn't get picked.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Kevin, did you hear anything about him?
- 10:23Speaker 5: No, I didn't.
- 10:24Speaker 6: I was really surprised because he was the last quarterback
- 10:26Speaker 6: and to your point, last year was a totally different
- 10:27Speaker 6: story going into the season.
- 10:29Speaker 5: And you would think in the.
- 10:30Speaker 6: Interviews that would be a strength of his because he's
- 10:33Speaker 6: a coach's son, he knows ball. But maybe he took
- 10:35Speaker 6: it in a like a very self interested way, I guess,
- 10:41Speaker 6: And rubbed it off the wrong way.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I went to the Chiefs seventh round. Yeah, as the
- 10:46Speaker 2: last quarterback picked. He was the last quarterback picked. Yeah,
- 10:49Speaker 2: Trey Lance's little brother got picked. Really as a wide
- 10:51Speaker 2: receiver from I believe in North Dakota State.
- 10:53Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 10:55Speaker 2: There were a couple of those guys, like Rutgers quarterback
- 10:57Speaker 2: went before him. I just I just kept pulling up
- 10:59Speaker 2: the quarter during the draft because I watched all the
- 11:03Speaker 2: obviously night one, and I watched a little bit of
- 11:05Speaker 2: the second and third round, and then.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I don't watch much.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I just kept, you know, watching the app to see
- 11:10Speaker 2: because I was just curious as to when nuss Meyer
- 11:13Speaker 2: would go and then tailoring our quarterback tailing Green. Yeah
- 11:16Speaker 2: he went to the Browns. Yeah that sucks. He's actually
- 11:20Speaker 2: a pretty good quarterback. We had a bad team, pretty
- 11:22Speaker 2: good quarterback. He's sixty six. He had like the second
- 11:24Speaker 2: fastest quarterback forty ever, not just this year, but like said,
- 11:28Speaker 2: all these records, crazy good athlete, Actually a pretty good quarterback.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You don't want to go to Cleveland. I'd know, go
- 11:35Speaker 1: to rookie camp with the Ravens.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Well, especially with Dylan Gabriel there and Sanders there's already.
- 11:42Speaker 6: It's it's already cram.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Funny how you lead with Gabriel.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right though, but yeah, with the sugar and
- 11:48Speaker 2: Dylan and Deshaun Watson's going to be back this year.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I never thought he'd see the field again, but he may.
- 11:56Speaker 1: But that room, yeah, dude, crazy.
- 11:59Speaker 4: You know you know what I feel bad for for
- 12:01Speaker 4: Nanda Mendoza, Like now I see clips now of him
- 12:04Speaker 4: getting interviewed by like the Hispanic media in Vegas, you know,
- 12:08Speaker 4: saying like, so, Mendoza, like in Spanish, will you tell
- 12:12Speaker 4: us what you're excited about for to be a raider?
- 12:14Speaker 4: He's like and he's like me, We're like, I understand Spanish,
- 12:16Speaker 4: but speaking is tough. And watching him try to speak Spanish, man,
- 12:19Speaker 4: I feel.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Bad for the guy. Oh he tried to speak about yes,
- 12:22Speaker 1: and it's tough.
- 12:23Speaker 4: It's you know, it's like if you were raised the
- 12:25Speaker 4: way I was, where my parents spoke Spanish but I
- 12:28Speaker 4: spoke English, Like that's hard. And then the media trying
- 12:31Speaker 4: to get him to be like all right, Mendosa, like
- 12:33Speaker 4: talk to us in Spanish. He's like, that's hard for me.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Guys.
- 12:36Speaker 2: Do you guys see the story there was a We
- 12:38Speaker 2: were talking about these prediction sites and this is from
- 12:43Speaker 2: the Independent, and this is a polymarket app situation because
- 12:50Speaker 2: the one we talked about recently was the guy in
- 12:52Speaker 2: the military who bet on them taking the president of Venezuela. Yes,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and he bet like thirty thousand, made four hundred thousand.
- 12:59Speaker 2: They arrested, Yes, and not because he bet it, because
- 13:01Speaker 2: they have no problem with you having inside information. It's
- 13:04Speaker 2: because he had signed India with the military, like you
- 13:06Speaker 2: can't reveal any of this, and by him doing that,
- 13:07Speaker 2: it shift to the odds, so that happens, and so
- 13:12Speaker 2: they have this. It's basically a weather prediction on polymarket.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That's hard. That's like bet on the NBA man. That's tough,
- 13:21Speaker 2: you would think. However, temperature readings at Charles de Gaul
- 13:25Speaker 2: Airport in Paris spiked twice this month at the same
- 13:29Speaker 2: time as bets with large winnings were placed on poly Market.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Someone won thirty four thousand, and then it discovered the
- 13:36Speaker 2: temperature sensors at the airport were tampered with.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Okay, guys, what I read that's not this story was
- 13:42Speaker 1: that he was taking a hairdryer to it and warming
- 13:44Speaker 1: it up. Yeah, that's crazy.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So he would bet it that it hit a certain
- 13:49Speaker 2: degree and then he would take I assume it's a heat.
- 13:52Speaker 1: It sounds like something.
- 13:54Speaker 5: For sure, his wife's hair dryer.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Though. He would take the hair dryer and head up.
- 13:59Speaker 1: The censor would give me. Take that. If you don't
- 14:02Speaker 1: get caught, that's pretty smart.
- 14:03Speaker 2: But if you're doing it twice, and I don't know
- 14:08Speaker 2: if it was once or twice, Oh yeah, twice or twice,
- 14:10Speaker 2: you can't do it twice. And then does the weather
- 14:14Speaker 2: take the temperature from us? Just one area? Like I
- 14:19Speaker 2: think there's an official for records. Yeah, and probably this
- 14:24Speaker 2: is they're using the same thing, like the airport has
- 14:26Speaker 2: the official like snowfall, wind chill temperature. There's been one
- 14:32Speaker 2: designated place and it's usually the airports.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You just can't do it twice. Yeah, you get away
- 14:37Speaker 1: with it.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Once you do it, you shut up, you collect your money,
- 14:39Speaker 2: you find another way to scam people.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You can't do it twice.
- 14:43Speaker 2: That's where getting selfish to get you bit in the butt.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Do you do basketball tournaments weekend? I did? And here
- 14:51Speaker 1: you go more drama. I don't know. This is begin
- 14:53Speaker 1: to be a weekly thing.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Guys, This time there was two kids on the court
- 14:58Speaker 4: and this was seven year olds, so the little guys
- 15:01Speaker 4: first grade, kindergarten, first graders, and there were these two
- 15:04Speaker 4: kids fighting over a jump ball and they wouldn't let
- 15:07Speaker 4: go after the whistle, like a ref is blowing the whistle.
- 15:10Speaker 4: So then they start pulling hair and you know, like jerseys,
- 15:14Speaker 4: even after the whistle's been blown, after the whistle has
- 15:16Speaker 4: been blown, And so the refs go in there and
- 15:20Speaker 4: try to break it up. And this there was where
- 15:22Speaker 4: mama bear comes out. Two mama bears come screaming out, going, nah,
- 15:27Speaker 4: you let go of my son.
- 15:28Speaker 2: And then the other mom comes up, nah, you don't
- 15:30Speaker 2: talk to my son like that, and they start fighting
- 15:33Speaker 2: the court. Dude, they're like being separated by the refs.
- 15:35Speaker 2: The coaches have to jump in. I felt really bad.
- 15:38Speaker 4: There was this he looked like a volunteer, maybe seventeen
- 15:42Speaker 4: years old, scorekeeper.
- 15:44Speaker 5: He had to.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Jump in and he had to address the crowd and
- 15:48Speaker 2: be like, I'd like to ask everyone to please just
- 15:51Speaker 2: settle down.
- 15:52Speaker 1: This is just a basketball game. I'm like, where is
- 15:55Speaker 1: the adult.
- 15:56Speaker 2: This guy's seventeen years old trying to like calm the
- 15:58Speaker 2: whole place down and it was just, dude, it's crazy.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And it was the first time I felt like it
- 16:04Speaker 2: was so heated that I felt like a gun could
- 16:08Speaker 2: have come out.
- 16:08Speaker 1: If someone was carrying they would have pulled correct.
- 16:12Speaker 4: It was that heated because once those moms got mad,
- 16:15Speaker 4: then other parents started backing up their mom from both sides,
- 16:19Speaker 4: and then you got dads. You got everyone involved at
- 16:22Speaker 4: that point, and dude, it's crazy. And my kids are
- 16:25Speaker 4: just like looking around being like what's happening? Like, what's
- 16:29Speaker 4: happening here?
- 16:30Speaker 2: It's every weekend there is some kind of drama fight
- 16:33Speaker 2: at these basketball tournaments. Where was the incompetence? Well, where
- 16:39Speaker 2: did it? Whose fault?
- 16:41Speaker 1: Is it?
- 16:42Speaker 2: The parents? Okay, but the two moms? But should they
- 16:45Speaker 2: have not? I agree that it gets to that point,
- 16:48Speaker 2: but should they have not? The referee not have stopped
- 16:51Speaker 2: the kids fighting situation?
- 16:52Speaker 1: Wait earlier.
- 16:53Speaker 4: The thing is they're seven, right, so they're thinking like, okay,
- 16:56Speaker 4: this is cute, Like they're just fighting over the ball
- 16:59Speaker 4: the whistle, and they try to separate them. But once
- 17:02Speaker 4: like al turned into hair, like grabbing hair, that's when
- 17:05Speaker 4: the moms lost it. But like, I feel like our
- 17:09Speaker 4: coach could handle that, Like I don't need to jump
- 17:11Speaker 4: off the bench the bleachers.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Even if it was your kid.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Yes, I feel like the coach could be like, hey
- 17:17Speaker 2: Eddie Junior, like don't do that. Stop, come on, like
- 17:20Speaker 2: get away. Parents don't need to be jumping out of
- 17:23Speaker 2: the stands.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I agree with that.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It feels like, though attension is always at a high
- 17:28Speaker 2: with those parents watching their kids, that they've got to
- 17:30Speaker 2: do a better job at training the referees and the
- 17:32Speaker 2: coaches to shut that crap down. Like, if kids start fighting,
- 17:37Speaker 2: it gets the coach's job to get out there and
- 17:38Speaker 2: stop and then stop the parents. Yeah, because parents, You
- 17:41Speaker 2: can't assume people are going to be rational.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Parents are going to be very irrational.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Right, Well, it even turned into like even once that
- 17:49Speaker 4: was settled, like ten minutes later, these two kids were
- 17:51Speaker 4: just trying to box each other out.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Parents started yelling again, probably your hands off them.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Probably because it had already happened though, where there was
- 17:58Speaker 2: a fight, right were high.
- 18:00Speaker 4: Here's what happened though. So that was Saturday. On Sunday,
- 18:04Speaker 4: we saw on the schedule that we were going to
- 18:06Speaker 4: play that same team and we're like, we're not going
- 18:10Speaker 4: so the whole team just just my son we didn't go.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Because you want to go home? No, because I dude,
- 18:17Speaker 1: it's scary, Like it's scary.
- 18:20Speaker 2: But what about the teammates of your son who then
- 18:23Speaker 2: don't have one of their players.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I don't know, dude.
- 18:26Speaker 4: I just felt at that point, I'm going to make
- 18:28Speaker 4: a decision for my family's safety to not go to
- 18:30Speaker 4: those things because dude, I'm talking like twenty people were
- 18:34Speaker 4: involved in this fight, like that could end really bad,
- 18:37Speaker 4: and it's just basketball. So at that point, I'm thinking, like,
- 18:41Speaker 4: forget winning this stupid tournament or even like going to
- 18:44Speaker 4: this dumb game.
- 18:45Speaker 2: They're seven years old. What's your kids say about that?
- 18:47Speaker 2: He didn't care. He's seven. He's like, okay, cool, do
- 18:51Speaker 2: I go to my baseball game? Yeah, you can go
- 18:52Speaker 2: to your baseball game. I don't have a kid that old.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I feel like you're letting down the teammates of the kid.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I thought about that.
- 19:02Speaker 4: I did, but I mean, I never felt like we
- 19:05Speaker 4: were in danger before until that time.
- 19:07Speaker 2: But what about the games after that? Like they're crazy
- 19:09Speaker 2: parents for every team? Yeah, because you watch two teams
- 19:12Speaker 2: with crazy parents, that doesn't mean they're the only two
- 19:14Speaker 2: teams of crazy parents.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, are you sure? You just don't want to go home.
- 19:18Speaker 4: No, no, no, I promise like this was my wife and
- 19:20Speaker 4: I decided to like, should we really go like to
- 19:23Speaker 4: this Kevin your thoughts?
- 19:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I get it because obviously we're not
- 19:28Speaker 6: there to see it. But if it happens every single
- 19:30Speaker 6: week and if your kid doesn't really care, But I'm
- 19:32Speaker 6: I'm with Bobby in the sense of like, if you
- 19:34Speaker 6: just didn't show up save your coach at Eddie and
- 19:36Speaker 6: you're like, where the heck is you know so and
- 19:38Speaker 6: So's kid?
- 19:39Speaker 5: Do you tell the coach at all Eddie or you
- 19:41Speaker 5: just not show up?
- 19:42Speaker 2: I just feel like, no answers question if that was
- 19:46Speaker 2: what did you tell your kids coach you weren't coming.
- 19:51Speaker 5: Or did you just not show up?
- 19:52Speaker 1: No?
- 19:53Speaker 4: No, we told them we weren't going. No, we told
- 19:55Speaker 4: them we weren't going. We told them we get we
- 19:56Speaker 4: get him heads up.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Like as sooners feel like the team that you were
- 19:59Speaker 2: playing was the one bad team that everybody should be
- 20:02Speaker 2: afraid of. No, and it's not that is that there's
- 20:03Speaker 2: beef between those two players now and their parents, and
- 20:06Speaker 2: those same parents are going to be together in that
- 20:08Speaker 2: same gym. Wait, so that was your kid's game where
- 20:10Speaker 2: it happened. It was my watching. Again, I don't sit
- 20:15Speaker 2: there and watch games. But also, okay, I didn't know
- 20:16Speaker 2: if it was the same time. But okay, did you
- 20:18Speaker 2: guys get that when he told.
- 20:19Speaker 5: The story Originally, no, I thought he was just watching. Again.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I thought you were just there in the house. It
- 20:23Speaker 1: was my son's teammate. Also, don't you think if it
- 20:25Speaker 1: happens once.
- 20:26Speaker 2: So it's like if somebody hijack's are playing, I feel
- 20:28Speaker 2: pretty good about getting on the nex play because I
- 20:29Speaker 2: ain't going way hijacking the next play. They're gonna be
- 20:30Speaker 2: CPS there this, Yes, that they're gonna crack down on
- 20:33Speaker 2: some credit, not just Security's gonna be extra high.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Yeah, not just that little seventeen year old guys settled down? Please?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Was there a fight? No?
- 20:41Speaker 2: No, I listen as a parent, you made the decision
- 20:44Speaker 2: that was best for you.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I feel like if the team didn't have one of
- 20:49Speaker 2: the best players, they lost because their dad got scared
- 20:53Speaker 2: and there really was no threat.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I felt like I'd be irritated.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Don't act like just I was the so many other kids,
- 20:59Speaker 2: how many other kids didn't go to the game like
- 21:00Speaker 2: three other ones.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Oh, so, do they've have a team?
- 21:04Speaker 4: They had an out, they have five, there's like there's
- 21:07Speaker 4: a total nine players. One was out of town. Three
- 21:10Speaker 4: decided not to go.
- 21:10Speaker 2: I'm sure you're right. I'm sure you're right. I just
- 21:12Speaker 2: feel like you got through it. It's not gonna happen again.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Are you teaching your kid if things get a little weird, run, Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 4: When there's a fight, don't stand in the middle of it.
- 21:24Speaker 1: That's true. Get out. Okay, you're the parent, man.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I just now, what did you do on Sunday when
- 21:30Speaker 2: you got back to play golf?
- 21:31Speaker 1: No, we didn't play golf. Did you do anything? From now?
- 21:33Speaker 1: I watched NASCAR? Watch NASCAR golf.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Their guy win.
- 21:39Speaker 2: No, he didn't win. Tyler Redick like his fifth race
- 21:42Speaker 2: and five races.
- 21:43Speaker 4: He won the poll again. So he started first. But
- 21:46Speaker 4: as soon as the race started, it was Talladega. As
- 21:48Speaker 4: soon as the race started, dude, he went from first
- 21:50Speaker 4: to like twenty first. He just something happened to his car.
- 21:53Speaker 4: We just went back, back, back, back back, and he
- 21:54Speaker 4: never I.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Tell you what happened. They probably like screwed it up.
- 21:56Speaker 2: This guy can't win another one like they purposefully. It's
- 21:59Speaker 2: like the guy with the heater at the airport.
- 22:01Speaker 1: You can't do in a row. You can't win five
- 22:03Speaker 1: in a row or they know something, so but see
- 22:05Speaker 1: for a while.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Denny Hamlin, who's awesome on Michael Jordan's team, was in
- 22:08Speaker 4: the lead too, and I'm like, oh my gosh, if
- 22:10Speaker 4: Denny Hamlin wins this, now something.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Definitely is fishy. But he didn't win. Did anybody watched
- 22:15Speaker 1: the whole Cogan documentary? Yes, it's good.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it was good.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:20Speaker 2: So it's four episodes only they're pretty long. If you're
- 22:22Speaker 2: a wrestling fan, you'll like it. They definitely glazed Hawk
- 22:25Speaker 2: a bit, meaning they didn't talk about some of the
- 22:31Speaker 2: really weird Hulk stuff. But I guess it really wasn't
- 22:34Speaker 2: about that. It was kind of about his impact on wrestling, right.
- 22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess because he's dead, they're like, maybe we
- 22:39Speaker 3: don't fully just take him down in this documentary.
- 22:43Speaker 1: A little respect for the dead.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Well, it was his last time to ever be interviewed, Like,
- 22:48Speaker 2: who's the who produced this one?
- 22:49Speaker 1: You know? Do you guys know Netflix?
- 22:52Speaker 5: Isn't it?
- 22:52Speaker 1: It's on Netflix? I don't know if it was a Netflix.
- 22:54Speaker 3: I don't recognize the company.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, uh, it was really good. But just like knowing
- 23:00Speaker 2: the stuff that I know about Hulk, like there was
- 23:01Speaker 2: a lot that wasn't in there, like not a great
- 23:04Speaker 2: dude like him and Jesse Ventura got into a huge fight.
- 23:07Speaker 2: It's not in the documentary because Jesse Ventura wanted basically
- 23:11Speaker 2: wanted an insurance for the wrestlers and so he was
- 23:13Speaker 2: getting all of them to unionize and told Vincent Man
- 23:16Speaker 2: and there's like a lot of that. But I think
- 23:19Speaker 2: aside from that, to just enjoy it because the wrestling
- 23:21Speaker 2: is great. Hull Cogan is the most important wrestler ever,
- 23:25Speaker 2: I believe now my favorite. I'll also say I don't
- 23:29Speaker 2: know he was so famous though, like they're only like
- 23:31Speaker 2: he's probably one of the most ten most famous people ever,
- 23:35Speaker 2: like ever, Yeah, because you could just go and show
- 23:37Speaker 2: a picture of him to really anybody. They don't have
- 23:40Speaker 2: to know wrestling, Like he crossed over that hard. Maybe
- 23:44Speaker 2: not kids, maybe not fourteen year olds now, but even
- 23:46Speaker 2: then probably, But I don't know there was anybody more
- 23:49Speaker 2: famous in the eighties.
- 23:50Speaker 3: He was like a superhero. He was like a Batman
- 23:52Speaker 3: or a superman.
- 23:53Speaker 2: They were doing obviously wrestling, but he had cartoons and movies,
- 23:57Speaker 2: was massive.
- 23:58Speaker 4: And he was the good guy wrestling right until until
- 24:02Speaker 4: he was star wearing black until n W and that
- 24:05Speaker 4: was they talked about that, So it was mostly about
- 24:08Speaker 4: his wrestling.
- 24:09Speaker 2: It did talk about how he hooked up along his
- 24:10Speaker 2: daughter's friends. Yeah, oh man, like they did a little
- 24:13Speaker 2: bit of that in there. Brooke Brooke Cogan, I saw
- 24:16Speaker 2: where she was pissed because they really didn't do much
- 24:18Speaker 2: about her in the documentary.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Yeah, really just once they got to the reality show
- 24:21Speaker 3: and then him kind of not being around when he
- 24:23Speaker 3: was there were kids.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Because he was gone all the time. Yeah, wrestling. So
- 24:28Speaker 2: what were your main takeaways as the documentary.
- 24:30Speaker 3: I think he couldn't separate Hull Hogan from Terry where
- 24:34Speaker 3: he got so famous as Hulk Hogan that in the
- 24:38Speaker 3: early days he was able to go home and be himself,
- 24:40Speaker 3: and then later you kind of see the shift whenever
- 24:42Speaker 3: his fame starts to dwindle a little bit, he can't
- 24:44Speaker 3: wrestle as well as he could have, and he's just
- 24:46Speaker 3: chasing that fame again. I think he forgot who he
- 24:50Speaker 3: was as a person and it was just whul Cogan
- 24:52Speaker 3: all the time. And that was kind of his downfall.
- 24:55Speaker 2: For me, what I took away from it was how
- 24:57Speaker 2: hurt he always was, the moultiple back surgeries, the multiple
- 25:01Speaker 2: neck surgeries. He was on a cane walking at the
- 25:07Speaker 2: end of this and he's like, I can't even get
- 25:10Speaker 2: up sometimes. So even as an old man, he obviously
- 25:12Speaker 2: was hurt. But this feels and sounds like he was
- 25:14Speaker 2: hurt for the last twenty years.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Is it the leg drop?
- 25:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right now talking about Well, that's his end move, right,
- 25:21Speaker 2: and every time he would hit his back and he's like,
- 25:24Speaker 2: I should have done the sleeperhold or something where I
- 25:26Speaker 2: wasn't constantly like falling as hard as I could on
- 25:28Speaker 2: my butt.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I guess I also didn't realize how he was. Kind
- 25:32Speaker 3: They called him a one trick pony, where his wrestling
- 25:34Speaker 3: style wasn't that technical, and he really just had the
- 25:37Speaker 3: same moves over and over again. So people just kind
- 25:38Speaker 3: of got tired of it, like we've seen.
- 25:40Speaker 2: This, especially when he shook his head like no.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And then once he got old and hurt, he would
- 25:47Speaker 3: just go in the ring and bleed.
- 25:49Speaker 1: He couldn't move around.
- 25:51Speaker 2: They really took a crap on Ultimate Warrior Jim Helwick,
- 25:57Speaker 2: I think the worst wrestler ever, worse dude. W Yeah,
- 26:02Speaker 2: he wasn't well liked anyway. He was the one with
- 26:05Speaker 2: all the fluorescent I loved Ultimate Warrior. Yeah, he was
- 26:07Speaker 2: probably my favorite WWE wrestler back in that era. So
- 26:12Speaker 2: I liked Warrior more than I did Hulk because Hulk
- 26:14Speaker 2: was just everybody loved Hulk. So I didn't like everybody
- 26:17Speaker 2: loved the Cowboys. I like the Cowboys. Everybody liked the
- 26:19Speaker 2: bulls of Michael Jordan's. I didn't like the holds of
- 26:21Speaker 2: Michael Jordan. I get it, we could just do this.
- 26:23Speaker 2: I never wanted to be a part of any sort
- 26:25Speaker 2: of bandwagon. I did really like the Ultimate Warrior, and yeah,
- 26:30Speaker 2: I was not a good good look for him.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah, they were like he was supposed to be the
- 26:32Speaker 3: next guy, but he couldn't really handle it.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Couldn't wrestle, didn't really have Nobody liked him.
- 26:39Speaker 3: He couldn't lead a match.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Man, he was ripped though, and then it got into
- 26:43Speaker 2: the steroids, a little bit of Hulk steroids. He was huge, Yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 2: just generally he was huge. You have to think he's
- 26:50Speaker 2: six eight, six', nine he's he's that. Tall, yeah, WOW i,
- 26:55Speaker 2: know and against, wrestlers he just seemed like a normal,
- 27:00Speaker 2: wrestler like, strong but just. Normal but he was so
- 27:03Speaker 2: much bigger than everybody. Too and unless it was like
- 27:05Speaker 2: the seven, footers but, yeah he was six, eight six.'
- 27:07Speaker 2: nine he'd have been a, you know a tween or
- 27:09Speaker 2: a three four IN. The, nba yeah. That's CRAZY and
- 27:13Speaker 2: i guess THAT'S like, i, Mean. YEAH hulk i never
- 27:15Speaker 2: really put, the name Like The incredible hulk was, a huge,
- 27:18Speaker 2: big animal, you know like a, big DUDE and i
- 27:21Speaker 2: guess that's why you call.
- 27:22Speaker 1: HIM that i just thought it Was Like. Hulk hogan.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Hh cool well first he, was well he had a,
- 27:27Speaker 2: few names but he then Became The Incredible.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Hulk HOGAN oh i didn't, know. That okay and He.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Wasn't italian He was Italian and hogan Is, not italian
- 27:37Speaker 2: and he, WAS like i, Don't know i'm Not, even italian, like.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Whatever what's, His name terry?
- 27:40Speaker 2: Or something, BALAYA yeah I, think's, irish, right, yeah yeah
- 27:43Speaker 2: or one of.
- 27:44Speaker 1: THE mgmn's i think his dad gave it. To.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Him yeah it's, good though it's. REALLY good i think,
- 27:48Speaker 2: MY wife i think liked it a. Little bit she
- 27:50Speaker 2: didn't want to, watch it but she's feeding the baby
- 27:52Speaker 2: AND so i was just had it ON and i
- 27:55Speaker 2: think she kind.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Of got into it a. Little bit.
- 27:56Speaker 2: That's, cool yeah it's. Four episodes it's. Worth watching if
- 27:59Speaker 2: you're just a mid or slightly. Above casual would you agree?
- 28:05Speaker 5: With?
- 28:05Speaker 1: That yeah did you get sad at all towards?
- 28:06Speaker 3: The end yep it was said like him like still
- 28:10Speaker 3: going for that one last pop at the. Very end
- 28:12Speaker 3: he was kind of just chasing anywhere he could get
- 28:14Speaker 3: that same.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Reaction again it was sad for a couple. Of reasons
- 28:18Speaker 2: he still felt like He Was.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Hulk.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Hogan uh he know he had started to align himself,
- 28:25Speaker 2: super political so people started to. Hate him, oh yeah
- 28:27Speaker 2: not and not for on purpose orchestrated because when he flipped.
- 28:31Speaker 1: In wo he wanted to be the.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Bad guy but like it showed him On the netflix's,
- 28:36Speaker 2: first show come out and people just, boot him boot him.
- 28:39Speaker 1: So hard and he wasn't trying to. Be booed it
- 28:41Speaker 1: wasn't like he was a. Bad guy so.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Did the Part where dylan and his dad He gives
- 28:47Speaker 4: dylan his death five hundred bucks that make.
- 28:48Speaker 1: The documentary he didn't. Make it it did not. Make,
- 28:51Speaker 1: It yeah kevin wasn't there, For, that kevin you. MISS
- 28:55Speaker 1: that i was.
- 28:56Speaker 5: Talking about dylan like Like.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Our, dylon yeah it wasn't on.
- 28:59Speaker 2: This Show, but dyllan who works, for me was saying
- 29:03Speaker 2: that him and his dad were down In, Maybe. Clearwater florida, yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah yeah And hul cogan has like a little. Store
- 29:08Speaker 2: there it's like a museum slash. Gift shop and there's
- 29:11Speaker 2: a statue outside Of. Hull cogin they were taking a
- 29:14Speaker 2: picture beside, of it and this big black truck pulls.

- 29:41Speaker 6: year with this team of. This organization they fired all.
- 29:44Speaker 6: The Coaches alex core's gone and like five, other coaches
- 29:47Speaker 6: but the real problem IS our gm and our owner
- 29:50Speaker 6: and begating a lot of flak the, last, five six.
- 29:52Speaker 6: Seven years and That's where i'm, at two same as everybody,
- 29:56Speaker 6: Else where, i'm like and we need to sell. This
- 29:58Speaker 6: team i've never understood.
- 30:00Speaker 1: People say sell. The team you want to sell.
- 30:01Speaker 5: THE team I Want john henry to sell.
- 30:03Speaker 6: The team i've never understood people that like hate their
- 30:07Speaker 6: owners for other than like Maybe A donald sterling and some,
- 30:10Speaker 6: other people but just for.
- 30:12Speaker 5: What they do to. The franchise, i'm like, all right
- 30:13Speaker 5: you guys are.
- 30:14Speaker 6: Overacting it And now i'm finally There where, i'm like
- 30:17Speaker 6: we need to sell this team because the last, seven
- 30:20Speaker 6: years ever since we won it in, twenty eighteen it's
- 30:23Speaker 6: just been downhill and it just keeps even worse and worse.
- 30:26Speaker 6: And Worse Trading, mookie betts not re, signing guys trading.
- 30:30Speaker 6: Away guys they don't want. To Win john henry just
- 30:32Speaker 6: wants to make. More money and it's pretty obvious As
- 30:36Speaker 6: A red, sox fan you want to win more. Than
- 30:38Speaker 6: anything and it's not like no offense To, the a's
- 30:41Speaker 6: but we're Not, The a's like we can. Spend money they,
- 30:43Speaker 6: got money so spend it and got to be competitive
- 30:47Speaker 6: every year, A.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Stray, I know well that's why.
- 30:50Speaker 2: They're, gone yeah that's why They're in sacramento, right now
- 30:53Speaker 2: and they're going to Be. IN vegas i just watched
- 30:56Speaker 2: The documentary i'm getting all these shows, Mixed up that's what,
- 31:00Speaker 2: it was the exposed one where they were talking about
- 31:03Speaker 2: owners that buy teams to, make money not, to win
- 31:05Speaker 2: and there are a lot, of those like it's literally
- 31:07Speaker 2: just about making money and to have, a team but never,
- 31:11Speaker 2: to win like. They're there you would think if you own,
- 31:13Speaker 2: a team you'd want, to win like your goal is
- 31:16Speaker 2: to risk it for the biscuit that there is a
- 31:19Speaker 2: significant amount of owners that is not at all. Their
- 31:21Speaker 2: mindset it is just to have, the team to, make
- 31:24Speaker 2: money to be able to brag that you own, a
- 31:27Speaker 2: team and.
- 31:28Speaker 1: That's it as long as you're, making money you're.
- 31:30Speaker 4: All good and refresh my memory in The Movie, major
- 31:33Speaker 4: league what was their motive?
- 31:34Speaker 1: To tank?

- 31:43Speaker 2: the ex wife of the of the or she was. The,
- 31:45Speaker 2: owner YEAH but i think she got she got handed
- 31:48Speaker 2: down the team in. A while i just know they're
- 31:49Speaker 2: apelling the patches. Every win they'd pill the patch off.
- 31:53Speaker 5: A cardboard.
