- 0:00Speaker 1: It's more of Mark.
- 0:01Speaker 2: The Mark Simone Show on WOR.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Well, welcome to hour number two. That's right, hour number two.
- 0:15Speaker 3: You missed the first hour. It's nine to noon every day.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Nine to noon every day here on 710WOR. Lots to
- 0:25Speaker 3: get to today. Hey, I forgot to mention, today... at
- 0:32Speaker 3: 1.30 is the big Apple presentation. They're going to unveil
- 0:36Speaker 3: the new iPhone, the iPhone 18, the 18 Pro, 18
- 0:43Speaker 3: Pro Max, and the, we don't know, rumor is it's
- 0:47Speaker 3: going to be called the iPhone Ultra. It'll be the
- 0:49Speaker 3: first foldable iPhone. It'll open up. In other words, it's
- 0:54Speaker 3: the size of your iPhone, but you unfold it, and
- 0:56Speaker 3: then the two Sides become one big screen. So at
- 1:01Speaker 3: 1.30 today, they'll unveil that. They're going to actually 1 o'clock,
- 1:05Speaker 3: 1 o'clock today, 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 o'clock. Tim Cook
- 1:10Speaker 3: will not be there. They got this new chairman of
- 1:12Speaker 3: the board. He'll make the whole presentation. Tim Cook will
- 1:16Speaker 3: make no appearance in this. So they're letting this guy shine.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Or also Tim Cook says, let this guy take the
- 1:23Speaker 3: blame if it doesn't go well. The new iPhone 18
- 1:27Speaker 3: Pro models. They'll be a little more expensive. They'll be
- 1:31Speaker 3: a little more expensive than you might think. Price increases.
- 1:35Speaker 3: The parts that they use, prices, cost has gone up.
- 1:39Speaker 3: What are you going to get in the new iPhone? Well,
- 1:43Speaker 3: you'll get the biggest iPhone battery to date. Battery life
- 1:47Speaker 3: will go up to 39 hours. 39 hours. So you
- 1:51Speaker 3: should see a big difference in the battery life. You
- 1:55Speaker 3: know that little black little oval at the top of
- 1:58Speaker 3: your phone where they put the camera and everything in there?
- 2:01Speaker 3: They call that the dynamic island. It'll get much smaller,
- 2:04Speaker 3: so you get more screen. Quality of the display will
- 2:08Speaker 3: be upgraded. The camera will be vastly improved. It's already
- 2:12Speaker 3: a phenomenal camera. You know, they test the iPhone 17
- 2:15Speaker 3: camera against Nikon cameras, against Canons, and it holds its own.
- 2:20Speaker 3: So it'll be phenomenal, the new camera. The big featured
- 2:24Speaker 3: color will be a dark cherry iPhone. But that's coming
- 2:30Speaker 3: out today. Now, the foldable one is going to get
- 2:33Speaker 3: all the attention. There are already foldable Androids where you
- 2:37Speaker 3: unfold it and it becomes a big screen like the
- 2:39Speaker 3: size of a tablet. The problem is, if you turn
- 2:42Speaker 3: it this way or that way, you can see the
- 2:45Speaker 3: seam a little. Apple was not going to make a
- 2:48Speaker 3: foldable until they could get rid of that seam completely. Supposedly,
- 2:52Speaker 3: they've done it. That's the word today. We're going to
- 2:55Speaker 3: see the foldable iPhone. Now, let me just give you
- 2:59Speaker 3: a little warning. It's a great gimmick. It unfolds. You
- 3:04Speaker 3: get a big screen. But real experts on all this
- 3:07Speaker 3: are saying stick with the regular iPhone. The problem is
- 3:11Speaker 3: the one that unfolds, they have to split the battery
- 3:14Speaker 3: into two parts, one on each side. And the battery
- 3:19Speaker 3: life will not be as long. The battery will not
- 3:21Speaker 3: be as stable split into both sides. A lot of
- 3:24Speaker 3: stuff they had to split into both sides. And each
- 3:28Speaker 3: side is very thin so that when it's folded together,
- 3:30Speaker 3: it's not too thick. Each side is very thin. So
- 3:34Speaker 3: everything is less in it. Less power, less speed, less
- 3:39Speaker 3: everything in the foldable one. The iPhone 18 Pro Max
- 3:43Speaker 3: is expected to be absolutely awesome, unbelievable, most dazzling phone
- 3:48Speaker 3: ever made. So you might want to stick with the
- 3:49Speaker 3: regular phone. So one o'clock today, they'll make that presentation.
- 3:52Speaker 3: There's going to be a new iWatch, Apple Watch. There's
- 3:57Speaker 3: going to be new earbuds and all of that stuff.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So that'll happen later today. Iran attacked early this morning,
- 4:06Speaker 3: attacked a base in Jordan, a U.S. base. We struck back.
- 4:12Speaker 3: We blew up and destroyed 10 Iranian tankers. Remember we
- 4:16Speaker 3: told you that every time they hit us, we'd take
- 4:18Speaker 3: out three, and that number was going to go to 10? Well,
- 4:22Speaker 3: this morning they took out 10 Iranian oil tankers. Now,
- 4:26Speaker 3: every time you take out a tanker, it just crushes
- 4:30Speaker 3: Iran economically, because even if they had oil, they can't
- 4:34Speaker 3: move it without the tankers. So we've taken out almost
- 4:37Speaker 3: 25 of their tankers now, That's a lot less oil
- 4:41Speaker 3: than they can ever move. The commander of CENTCOM, Admiral Cooper,
- 4:46Speaker 3: has what they call preemptive authority, which means he doesn't
- 4:51Speaker 3: have to get authority from anybody. He can act immediately.
- 4:54Speaker 3: If Iran fires at us, hits anything of ours, he
- 4:56Speaker 3: can take out whatever he wants. And CENTCOM announced. Now,
- 5:01Speaker 3: Iran is putting out a statement that they hit two U.S.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Navy destroyers. CENTCOM releasing this, that that's absolutely false. Nothing
- 5:12Speaker 3: has been struck. No Navy warship has been hit by Iran,
- 5:17Speaker 3: that it's absolutely false. So that's good news. The Iran war,
- 5:21Speaker 3: it's going to be an issue. It's not a big
- 5:24Speaker 3: issue with voters right now. Price of gas will be
- 5:27Speaker 3: an issue, and that is spiking a little, because as
- 5:29Speaker 3: we told you last hour, word is the administration has
- 5:33Speaker 3: been exaggerating how much oil They got flowing through the
- 5:37Speaker 3: Strait of Hormuz. They were claiming 9 million barrels every day,
- 5:41Speaker 3: up to 15 million gallons. Well, actually, it looks like
- 5:46Speaker 3: that number is greatly— it' s believed that. They're exaggerating that number.
- 5:50Speaker 3: And it's not that big, so that's caused that little spike.
- 5:54Speaker 3: This guy works for Anthropic, the big AI company. He's
- 5:58Speaker 3: a researcher, and he quit. And this is going viral
- 6:02Speaker 3: right now. The guy quit and he put out this
- 6:04Speaker 3: warning that AI is going to kill us all. And
- 6:08Speaker 3: people on his team agree that AI is going to
- 6:10Speaker 3: kill us all.
- 6:13Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Everybody's panicking. It's going super viral. He says, do not
- 6:18Speaker 3: underestimate the power of this technology. There will soon be
- 6:22Speaker 3: superhuman systems that can hack anything, revolutionize any field overnight,
- 6:28Speaker 3: acquire real power and resources. I don't know. AI going
- 6:33Speaker 3: to kill us all? You know, back when the Internet
- 6:36Speaker 3: was taken over in 2000, 99, 2000, you got a
- 6:41Speaker 3: lot of these warnings it was going to destroy anything
- 6:43Speaker 3: and everything. You get this all the time. As Steve
- 6:47Speaker 3: Forbes pointed out to us, this is fascinating. When electricity
- 6:50Speaker 3: was invented hundreds of years ago, when electricity was invented,
- 6:55Speaker 3: everybody went into panic thinking this electricity, this new thing
- 6:58Speaker 3: called electricity, would kill us all. that it would create monsters.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And the panic was so widespread, that's why this woman
- 7:07Speaker 3: wrote a book, a novel, and called it Frankenstein. It
- 7:11Speaker 3: was about electricity creating a monster that would kill us all.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So this kind of panic has been around anytime anything
- 7:18Speaker 3: is invented. Hey, that guy running in Michigan, that Al Sayad,
- 7:24Speaker 3: there's more and more video of him coming out. There's
- 7:27Speaker 3: one now from five years ago. It was the anniversary
- 7:31Speaker 3: of 9-11. This is back in 2021, five years ago.
- 7:35Speaker 3: They found this video of El-Sayed saying that we were
- 7:40Speaker 3: wrong in 9-11, that when we were attacked, we went crazy,
- 7:44Speaker 3: we wasted trillions of dollars, we waged a war that
- 7:48Speaker 3: we would always lose. We created an era of death, destruction,
- 7:53Speaker 3: and destitution. He blamed the U.S. when it comes to
- 7:56Speaker 3: 9-11 for creating this death, destruction, and destitution. That's coming out.
- 8:01Speaker 3: There'll be more coming out on El Sayyad, videos, past comments,
- 8:05Speaker 3: past statements, as he tries running in Michigan against Mike Rogers.
- 8:10Speaker 3: So it'll probably, they call that an October surprise in October,
- 8:15Speaker 3: they'll release all kinds of crap on this guy. You know,
- 8:18Speaker 3: the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, D.C. 's great museum, the great
- 8:23Speaker 3: American museum, the Smithsonian Institute, So prestigious. I don't know
- 8:28Speaker 3: if you've been there or followed it for the last
- 8:31Speaker 3: 10 years. Started in the Obama era, but ever since
- 8:34Speaker 3: it's gone totally woke. It's a woke museum that presents
- 8:40Speaker 3: a very negative view of America through its history. All
- 8:43Speaker 3: the negative stuff about America is in there. Getting rid
- 8:47Speaker 3: of all the positive stuff. It just went woke. I mean,
- 8:50Speaker 3: these crazy left-wingers took it over. Led by the head
- 8:55Speaker 3: of the Smithsonian Institute, Lonnie Bunch, he was put in there,
- 9:00Speaker 3: I think, by Obama. He's been removed. Finally, the Trump
- 9:03Speaker 3: administration has got this guy removed. He's been clashing with them.
- 9:07Speaker 3: They've been fighting with him to get the museum back
- 9:10Speaker 3: to normal, not this woke anti-American museum. So he's out.
- 9:15Speaker 3: He's gone. That's good news. He resigned yesterday. Thank goodness.
- 9:21Speaker 3: The Lindsay Clancy case. Now, there was one juror. that
- 9:25Speaker 3: held out, he was the one guy, she would have
- 9:29Speaker 3: had a total acquittal and been done with this, but
- 9:32Speaker 3: this one juror He said he had reasonable doubt. Jurors
- 9:38Speaker 3: are starting to do television interviews.
- 9:40Speaker 5: He admitted he had reasonable doubt, and I started filling
- 9:43Speaker 5: out the forms.
- 9:44Speaker 6: I was so excited.
- 9:45Speaker 5: There were three forms I had to fill out, and
- 9:49Speaker 5: I started filling them out. I wrote my signature on
- 9:52Speaker 5: each one, and then he said, but I'm still not
- 9:56Speaker 5: going to say that she's not guilty by reason of insanity. Now,
- 9:50Speaker 5: you've got to remember, this is New Hampshire, Massachusetts. That's
- 9:53Speaker 5: how they talk. She started filling out the forms. She
- 9:57Speaker 5: started to fill out the forms, but.
- 10:10Speaker 3: But this juror, just reasonable doubt, they kept trying to
- 10:12Speaker 3: explain things to him.
- 10:13Speaker 7: We read to him on numerous occasions the definition of
- 10:16Speaker 7: a reasonable doubt from Judge Sullivan's instruction. He actually said
- 10:22Speaker 7: one day in the end, well, why don't we have
- 10:24Speaker 7: the judge come in and read it again? And we
- 10:26Speaker 7: were like, no, we have it in front of us.
- 10:31Speaker 7: We don't need that. And we would highlight it. And,
- 10:34Speaker 7: you know, so-and-so, this is the definition of a reason
- 10:39Speaker 7: to vote. But he had the hardest time getting off
- 10:41Speaker 7: the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Now, that's what an angry New Englander sounds like. They
- 10:47Speaker 3: don't yell. If this was Long Island, you'd hear screaming
- 10:50Speaker 3: and yelling. But she started filling out the forms. They
- 10:55Speaker 3: just don't get too mad. They're very polite people. So
- 10:59Speaker 3: this lawyer, they got just the right lawyer for this case.
- 11:03Speaker 3: He looks very old, and he's got the glasses on.
- 11:06Speaker 3: He looks like a professor. He looks like a kind
- 11:09Speaker 3: old guy. What's his name? Reddington?
- 11:11Speaker 2: I hope, however, after sitting through this trial and seeing
- 11:14Speaker 2: the evidence that was presented from the government as well
- 11:18Speaker 2: as from the defense, that he would revisit that issue
- 11:21Speaker 2: and hopefully would be able to work something out that
- 11:23Speaker 2: would be acceptable to both sides.
- 11:27Speaker 3: You know, the thing is with this Lindsay Clancy, I
- 11:31Speaker 3: guess there's two sides to this case. But she did kill,
- 11:36Speaker 3: murder her children. Could you imagine such a thing? Now, she's,
- 11:40Speaker 3: you know, arguing there was trauma, you know, what she
- 11:45Speaker 3: called psychotrauma with a psychotic break. But she killed her
- 11:53Speaker 3: three kids. One is five years old. The daughter is five.
- 11:56Speaker 3: One is three. The baby was eight months. And she
- 12:02Speaker 3: very methodically killed them. So I can understand a lot
- 12:07Speaker 3: of people not having sympathy for this woman, no matter
- 12:10Speaker 3: what psychological problems she had, no matter what trauma, no
- 12:13Speaker 3: matter what voices. She kept saying she heard voices in
- 12:16Speaker 3: her head. No matter what voices. We've had a lot
- 12:18Speaker 3: of lunatic nutjobs. We just saw one here in New
- 12:21Speaker 3: York the other day who picked up two knives and
- 12:24Speaker 3: went stabbing people. But killing your own children, murdering, carefully
- 12:29Speaker 3: murdering your three children. A lot of people are not
- 12:30Speaker 3: going to have any sympathy for you. I can understand that.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Pete Hegseth is one of them. He was speaking out.
- 12:37Speaker 3: So apparently, on The View, Whoopi Goldberg is a big
- 12:42Speaker 3: defender of Lindsay Clancy. And Whoopi Goldberg said, you Clancy haters,
- 12:48Speaker 3: you haters, you sound like Pete Hegseth. Now, what the
- 12:51Speaker 3: hell does that mean? How do you tie all this
- 12:53Speaker 3: into Pete Hegseth that, uh, She said, it's arguing that
- 12:58Speaker 3: a woman, he's arguing that a woman should not serve
- 13:00Speaker 3: in combat. Well, that's a whole different thing. He could
- 13:03Speaker 3: logically make the case that maybe women in the army
- 13:07Speaker 3: shouldn't be in actual combat. You know, if you're an
- 13:11Speaker 3: old-fashioned guy, I could see where you'd think that. So
- 13:14Speaker 3: to compare that to Lindsay Clancy, a little ridiculous. Hey,
- 13:19Speaker 3: speaking of ridiculous, you know, Billy Baldwin, every one of
- 13:21Speaker 3: these Baldwin brothers, they all got a screw loose. They're
- 13:24Speaker 3: not as bad as Alec. This Alec is a complete
- 13:27Speaker 3: ranging maniac, Alec Baldwin. But Billy Baldwin's on this podcast
- 13:32Speaker 3: and he's telling these stories about movies. You know, he
- 13:34Speaker 3: was in a movie with Sharon Stone. Anyway, he said
- 13:37Speaker 3: she was a nightmare. She was an absolute nightmare to
- 13:40Speaker 3: work with. There was unbelievable tension on the set. He said,
- 13:44Speaker 3: we got along pretty well first couple of weeks. Then
- 13:47Speaker 3: she wouldn't say hello or goodbye for the next three months.
- 13:51Speaker 3: So what? Who cares? She wouldn't say goodbye. I got
- 13:58Speaker 3: the point. They're starring in the movie together. And at
- 14:00Speaker 3: the end, there's a big love scene where they have
- 14:02Speaker 3: to do it. So apparently he scheduled a meeting with
- 14:04Speaker 3: the producers. And he explained to them he can't film
- 14:09Speaker 3: the last scene. He can't do the love scene with her.
- 14:14Speaker 3: He said, I can't do the scene. Just please. Please
- 14:19Speaker 3: don't make me kiss her. I can't kiss her. Now,
- 14:23Speaker 3: they must have thought, this guy has got to be
- 14:26Speaker 3: the biggest lunatic in the world. See, you hate her guts.
- 14:30Speaker 3: It's Sharon Stone. You can't kiss Sharon Stone. Just please,
- 14:35Speaker 3: I can't. You know, there's people digging ditches for a
- 14:37Speaker 3: living 12 hours a day. You see those window washers
- 14:42Speaker 3: hanging off the side of a building 50 stories up?
- 14:45Speaker 3: That's a tough job. Can you imagine telling somebody, you
- 14:49Speaker 3: don't know what I went through at work. They wanted
- 14:51Speaker 3: me to kiss Sharon Stone. You're getting like 18 million
- 14:55Speaker 3: for this movie. I'd kiss Madeleine Albright for 18 million bucks.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Who couldn't do this scene? Baldwin said that's why if
- 15:07Speaker 3: you watch the scene at the end, he kind of
- 15:08Speaker 3: pushes her up against the post there and looks at her,
- 15:13Speaker 3: but they don't really kiss. What a lunatic this guy is. Hey,
- 15:16Speaker 3: we'll take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number.
- 15:18Speaker 1: 800-321-0710.
- 15:24Speaker 7: 0-7-10.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Now, much more Mark. Mark Simone. Now, 9 till noon weekdays.
- 15:32Speaker 3: On 7-10-W-O-R. Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to
- 15:40Speaker 3: Joe in Hoboken. Joe, how you doing?
- 15:44Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark.
- 15:44Speaker 4: I am good. Over the weekend, I was reading about
- 15:49Speaker 4: the DSA since 2019's added 250 candidates, and they're looking
- 15:57Speaker 4: to add 40 more in the midterms. This is concerning.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I mean, like, bring me back Al Gore, like, who
- 16:05Speaker 4: only wanted to get rid of a combustion engine. I mean,
- 16:09Speaker 4: that was a wacko then, but he looks like a
- 16:11Speaker 4: Republican compared to these idiots now. Are you concerned as
- 16:15Speaker 4: much as me?
- 16:17Speaker 3: Well, you got to be concerned, but you got to
- 16:19Speaker 3: assume it's just a bad cycle that they're going through.
- 16:22Speaker 3: You got to remember the Democrats after Jimmy Carter went
- 16:25Speaker 3: way to the left and lost every race. And then
- 16:30Speaker 3: Bill Clinton emerged out of nowhere. This unknown governor rose
- 16:34Speaker 3: up and led them back to the center. So everybody
- 16:37Speaker 3: keeps waiting for something like that to happen. 2028 is
- 16:41Speaker 3: still two years away. And you never know, some governor, somebody,
- 16:46Speaker 3: might just, a Fetterman maybe, although he'd have to put
- 16:49Speaker 3: on a suit. I don't think he's going to do that.
- 16:51Speaker 3: But somebody might just rise up and lead them back
- 16:53Speaker 3: to the center. They got to lose some elections. If
- 16:56Speaker 3: they lose the midterms, which is very unusual, president two
- 17:00Speaker 3: years in always loses the midterms. If Trump pulls this
- 17:04Speaker 3: off and the Republicans win, Democrats get wiped out, they
- 17:08Speaker 3: might wise up and start getting rid of these crazy
- 17:11Speaker 3: lunatics in their party. Let's go to Cheryl in Farmingdale. Cheryl,
- 17:15Speaker 3: how you doing?
- 17:17Speaker 6: How are you?
- 17:18Speaker 3: Let me check. Not bad.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Thanks. I really enjoy your show every morning.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Well, thank you.
- 17:25Speaker 1: I have a question about the Clancy situation. Yes. Why
- 17:30Speaker 1: was he allowed in the basement before the law enforcement
- 17:34Speaker 1: officers got there? They were like waiting outside because it
- 17:39Speaker 1: states in the testimony that the police saw him down
- 17:44Speaker 1: in the basement.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Who?
- 17:45Speaker 1: I don't understand that. Who are we talking about? Patrick Clancy.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Oh, I got to be honest. I don't follow this
- 17:52Speaker 3: too closely. Who's Patrick Clancy?
- 17:55Speaker 1: Lindsay Clancy, the three kids that were murdered.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:00Speaker 1: You were just talking about it.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Who's Patrick Clancy?
- 18:03Speaker 1: The husband.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Oh, okay. So the husband was there and he went
- 18:06Speaker 3: down in the basement.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but he went in the basement before the police.
- 18:11Speaker 1: That's not protocol.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Well, I guess he got there first. Yeah. We'll have
- 18:18Speaker 3: the expert on in a minute. We'll ask him, but
- 18:20Speaker 3: go ahead.
- 18:22Speaker 1: My other question is, Lindsay was a nurse.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 18:26Speaker 1: So if she was trying to commit suicide, why didn't
- 18:29Speaker 1: she hit the main vein in her wrist?
- 18:31Speaker 3: Well, there's some people that argue to get sympathy in
- 18:34Speaker 3: all this, she was so bad she tried to kill herself.
- 18:37Speaker 3: But a lot of people point out she's a nurse.
- 18:39Speaker 3: She would know which vein, where to hit, and she
- 18:42Speaker 3: didn't do this.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 18:43Speaker 3: They think it was a fake attempt to kill herself.
- 18:45Speaker 1: My theory... is that he made it look like she
- 18:50Speaker 1: attempted the suicide. He killed the kids, but he didn't
- 18:53Speaker 1: kill her because then he would be the number one
- 18:56Speaker 1: prime suspect.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Oh, that's a brilliant theory. I think you've been watching
- 19:00Speaker 3: too many soap operas here. I don't know.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Don't make fun of me.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Wouldn't somebody brought that up?
- 19:09Speaker 1: But really, I mean, then all of a sudden, four
- 19:12Speaker 1: months after his children are murdered, he moves to New
- 19:15Speaker 1: York City.
- 19:16Speaker 3: He Now, let me ask you a better question, because
- 19:18Speaker 3: I know a lot of people in Long Island, especially
- 19:21Speaker 3: women in Long Island, they've become obsessed with this case.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Why did they get so obsessed with this case?
- 19:27Speaker 1: It's not that we're obsessed. It's just that when you
- 19:30Speaker 1: watch the testimony, everything is Patrick said. Patrick said. Even
- 19:35Speaker 1: the detectives, when they put them on the stand, they
- 19:39Speaker 1: couldn't say they were first eyewitnesses. He said the powder
- 19:44Speaker 1: on the glass. He said because Patrick said the powder
- 19:48Speaker 1: was by the glass. Nothing came from.
- 19:51Speaker 3: If I hear about this Patrick one more time....
- 19:56Speaker 1: Well, you opened it up. No, I understand.
- 19:59Speaker 3: But I just don't know that much about the case.
- 20:00Speaker 3: But you know, Howie Carr, nobody knows this case more.
- 20:03Speaker 3: He's been covering this like we're going to talk to
- 20:05Speaker 3: him in a minute. I'm going to ask him all
- 20:07Speaker 3: your questions.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Okay. Okay.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Cheryl, what are you doing in Farmingdale?
- 20:13Speaker 1: I'm retired.
- 20:14Speaker 3: No wonder you're still in your pajamas. It's like 1030 already.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Wise guy. I do have to add that I get
- 20:23Speaker 1: upset when you have guest hosts because your voice is
- 20:28Speaker 1: so soothing and calming to me when I wake up
- 20:31Speaker 1: and listen to you for three hours.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Apparently it's not working because you're sitting there obsessed with
- 20:34Speaker 3: murder trials. You don't sound that calm about this.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm not obsessed.
- 20:39Speaker 4: You're a little obsessed.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm just giving you my theory.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:41Speaker 1: You know, everybody has an opinion.
- 20:44Speaker 3: All right, all right, all right. Well, I got to
- 20:45Speaker 3: take a day off now and then. You don't expect
- 20:47Speaker 3: me to work every day, do you?
- 20:49Speaker 1: Well, what about your listeners? What about your followers?
- 20:54Speaker 3: Well, when you were working, did you ever get vacation days?
- 20:57Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Well, what about your job? What about the people you
- 21:00Speaker 3: work with? Why do you take these vacation days?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but I didn't have millions of people listening in
- 21:06Speaker 1: to my daily, you know, Monday through Friday like you do.
- 21:09Speaker 3: I've got to take a day off now.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I'm giving you a compliment.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I know. I thank you.
- 21:13Speaker 1: All right.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Well, you're a very good listener. We appreciate you. Thanks
- 21:16Speaker 3: for calling, Cheryl. Take care. Let's go to Rich in
- 21:20Speaker 3: New Jersey. Rich, how are you doing? All right, Mark. Hey, Mark,
- 21:24Speaker 3: if AI is going to kill us, and it's so smart,
- 21:29Speaker 3: why doesn't it tell us when? Tell us what? Why
- 21:35Speaker 3: doesn't it tell us when it's going to kill us?
- 21:38Speaker 3: All right, I know. We'll get back to that story.
- 21:41Speaker 3: These people think AI is going to... You know, there's
- 21:44Speaker 3: one way to stop AI. Pull the plug out. Just
- 21:48Speaker 3: shut it off. Hey, when we come back, Howie Carr
- 21:51Speaker 3: knows this Lindsay Clancy stuff better than anybody. We'll talk
- 21:53Speaker 3: to him next on 710WOR. Mark Simone, live from the
- 21:59Speaker 3: WOR LifeVac studios. Well, Howie Carr is one of the
- 22:05Speaker 3: great talk show hosts in America. Also a best-selling author.
- 22:09Speaker 3: His latest book coming out, Mass Corruption 2. His radio show,
- 22:12Speaker 3: his podcast on iHeart. And you can get everything at HowieCarrShow.com.
- 22:17Speaker 3: Just go to his website, HowieCarrShow.com. Howie Carr, how are
- 22:21Speaker 3: you doing?
- 22:23Speaker 6: Very good. Very good. Now, tonight, Mark, the president is
- 22:29Speaker 6: scheduled to speak at 8.15. Kickoff. between the super bowl rematch,
- 22:35Speaker 6: the start of the NFL season is eight 20, which
- 22:40Speaker 6: will you be watching?
- 22:41Speaker 3: Well, you know, I, uh, shouldn't somebody be getting yelled
- 22:45Speaker 3: at on the planning team that they scheduled NFL schedule
- 22:48Speaker 3: come out way in advance. Don't think no.
- 22:51Speaker 6: Well, I mean, the Wednesday night game was kind of
- 22:54Speaker 6: a surprise, but you're right. They, the advanced team is
- 22:56Speaker 6: supposed to know stuff like that, that, that most people don't,
- 22:59Speaker 6: don't notice until the actual day of the game.
- 23:02Speaker 7: Right.
- 23:03Speaker 6: Yeah, someone made a mistake, I think.
- 23:06Speaker 3: Should I skip both of them just to watch the
- 23:08Speaker 3: Rhode Island primary tonight?
- 23:14Speaker 6: Yeah, they're trying to gin that up, but it's not.
- 23:17Speaker 6: It's kind of a non-starter. I don't think there's much
- 23:20Speaker 6: going on there.
- 23:21Speaker 3: You know, they asked him, why are you doing the
- 23:23Speaker 3: only Wednesday night primary? They said, well, it was Labor Day.
- 23:25Speaker 3: You can't do it the day after Labor Day. Don't
- 23:28Speaker 3: every other state do that? Why not? New Hampshire just
- 23:31Speaker 3: did it.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Did New Hampshire just did it?
- 23:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:33Speaker 6: And, uh, yeah, we did it. Massachusetts did it September 1st.
- 23:37Speaker 6: I mean, that was kind of a new thing, but
- 23:39Speaker 6: you know, it's not, it's not a big deal. I,
- 23:40Speaker 6: it's just, it's just odd. I don't, I don't know. It's, um, it's,
- 23:46Speaker 6: it's pretty interesting that, uh, you know, uh, John, I
- 23:49Speaker 6: gotta go make it. I'm on the air today. I
- 23:51Speaker 6: gotta make a, uh, I gotta go on to an
- 23:53Speaker 6: event at New Hampshire. Uh, John Sununu is, uh, you know,
- 23:56Speaker 6: he's going to be the nominee against Chris Pappas for
- 23:58Speaker 6: the Senate seat. And he's bringing up Tom Cotton, who's
- 24:02Speaker 6: the great senator from Arkansas. He's just, you know, he's
- 24:07Speaker 6: the one who, you know, he was denounced by the
- 24:10Speaker 6: New York Times and the Washington Post for pushing debunked
- 24:13Speaker 6: theories about COVID. And then they had to issue corrections
- 24:20Speaker 6: later on. Corrections, those debunked theories. Turns out they're not
- 24:23Speaker 6: so debunked anymore.
- 24:25Speaker 5: You know.
- 24:26Speaker 3: I'd say this Republican convention, midterm convention, a brilliant idea.
- 24:30Speaker 3: But you're right. Wrong scheduling. And let's say they put
- 24:33Speaker 3: on great speeches. The president's unbelievable. Who's going to see it?
- 24:36Speaker 3: Where is it going to run? Nobody will see it.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:39Speaker 6: I mean, it's going to be on Fox, but that's
- 24:43Speaker 6: preaching to the converted.
- 24:44Speaker 7: Right.
- 24:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:45Speaker 3: That's not going to help. They already got the Fox voters. So, yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 6: And, you know, the thing is, I asked, we've had
- 24:53Speaker 6: some guy on the show yesterday, one of the quote-unquote delegates.
- 24:57Speaker 6: And I said, who's down there from Massachusetts? And he
- 25:00Speaker 6: named the national committee man and woman, the state party chairman.
- 25:05Speaker 6: I said, are there any elected officials down there? Not
- 25:08Speaker 6: that there are many in Massachusetts that are Republican. He said, no,
- 25:11Speaker 6: no one's down there. I mean, who is going to
- 25:13Speaker 6: be down there?
- 25:14Speaker 3: Yeah. And, you know, they're selling tickets if you want
- 25:17Speaker 3: to go down there. Even for the delegate, you got
- 25:19Speaker 3: to pay like $ 7, 000 for a ticket. It's crazy.
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, this guy, this delegate said, we have a mandatory meeting,
- 25:27Speaker 6: breakfast meeting tomorrow. Geez, I haven't had a mandatory breakfast
- 25:31Speaker 6: meeting since I got out of prep school.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Hey, Howie Carr, I don't know why. I don't follow
- 25:38Speaker 3: this Lindsay Clancy stuff that closely. But what is it?
- 25:42Speaker 3: There's a lot of murders all the time. What is
- 25:44Speaker 3: it that gripped so many people about this case?
- 25:48Speaker 6: I think it's live streaming. I've always been a proponent
- 25:51Speaker 6: of televising trials, just because I used to cover, I
- 25:57Speaker 6: do cover a lot of stuff in federal courts, and
- 25:59Speaker 6: it's very irritating not to have that great video and
- 26:04Speaker 6: for the radio, audio. But it seems like you know, it's, it's,
- 26:09Speaker 6: it's getting out of control. I mean, like this, uh,
- 26:11Speaker 6: this guy, Kevin Reddington, he's, he's, he's an old, old guy, but, uh,
- 26:16Speaker 6: you know, he, he just was, he's just playing for
- 26:18Speaker 6: a clickbait and, you know, just, I mean, just insult,
- 26:22Speaker 6: he's insulting the jurors. He's insulting the judge and the, the, uh,
- 26:27Speaker 6: the women, it was nine women and three men that
- 26:30Speaker 6: the women just really liked them. They like, he was a, uh,
- 26:33Speaker 6: you know, uh, you know, their grandfather. something and uh
- 26:37Speaker 6: and you know you know it's uh i i just
- 26:39Speaker 6: couldn't i couldn't believe the judge didn't uh admonish him
- 26:43Speaker 6: you know i mean you know you don't just hit
- 26:45Speaker 6: you know judges don't don't just hit lawyers with contempt
- 26:48Speaker 6: but they say uh you know watch your uh language
- 26:51Speaker 6: mr reddington or you know you know i you could
- 26:54Speaker 6: be held in contempt or show a little respect for
- 26:56Speaker 6: the court you know and he he's just he's telling
- 26:59Speaker 6: the guy that the judge read the jury instructions and
- 27:03Speaker 6: so reddington said You didn't do a good job. He said,
- 27:06Speaker 6: I read the instructions in the manual. He said, but
- 27:10Speaker 6: you didn't read it with enough authority. And the judge said,
- 27:14Speaker 6: what did you want, a brass band? I mean, I
- 27:17Speaker 6: don't know why the judge had to take that crap
- 27:19Speaker 6: from him. And it was just outrageous. And then he
- 27:22Speaker 6: goes out and he says, I crushed the DA. And
- 27:27Speaker 6: he's got to negotiate a plea bargain or something with
- 27:32Speaker 6: this district attorney. And, you know, why is he insulting him?
- 27:37Speaker 6: I don't get it. And he also said, you know,
- 27:38Speaker 6: another thing, you know, I've obviously followed this pretty closely, Mark,
- 27:42Speaker 6: but he said, you know, Lindsay Clancy is like a
- 27:46Speaker 6: daughter to me. And, you know, doesn't that raise the question, well,
- 27:51Speaker 6: aren't you angry then that your daughter killed your three grandchildren?
- 27:56Speaker 3: So, but you know this case, you've covered it as
- 27:58Speaker 3: well as anybody. Should she get off? Shouldn't she be
- 28:01Speaker 3: in jail? What do you think?
- 28:03Speaker 6: Yeah. I mean, this was, you know, they, the three
- 28:06Speaker 6: of the jurors were interviewed last night on the NBC
- 28:08Speaker 6: affiliate and the, the key takeaway, which they didn't, they
- 28:12Speaker 6: didn't show until they actually ran it in prime time. Uh,
- 28:16Speaker 6: one of the jury, one of the, one of the
- 28:18Speaker 6: female jurors said that this male juror, the holdout, I
- 28:21Speaker 6: think he should be, you know, man of the year myself.
- 28:23Speaker 6: And so do a lot of people, including women. But
- 28:26Speaker 6: she said he just couldn't get over the fact that
- 28:29Speaker 6: she had murdered her three children.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 6: And, And that's a problem. How? You know, I mean,
- 28:36Speaker 6: that's the thing Reddington was was yelling about. He said
- 28:39Speaker 6: he kept saying he's not following the law. I mean,
- 28:42Speaker 6: when when a jury gets a case, the case belongs
- 28:45Speaker 6: to the jury.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 28:47Speaker 6: I mean, you know, the the O.J. Simpson case and
- 28:51Speaker 6: a jury engaged in jury nullification. There are all kinds
- 28:55Speaker 6: of juries up in the Bronx when they used to
- 28:57Speaker 6: have the death penalty. you know, theoretically in New York
- 28:59Speaker 6: state that engaged in jury nullification, but, but nobody ever
- 29:03Speaker 6: wanted to throw them off the jury. It's just, that's the,
- 29:06Speaker 6: that's the price you pay. I mean, we've had a,
- 29:08Speaker 6: we've had the system for 600 years in a, in
- 29:12Speaker 6: Anglo American jurisprudence. You have to have a unanimous verdict and,
- 29:16Speaker 6: you know, almost every single criminal case and certainly in
- 29:20Speaker 6: capital cases. And, and, you know, when he wants to
- 29:22Speaker 6: throw this guy off the jury because he, he won't
- 29:25Speaker 6: agree with him, I mean, how out of control are
- 29:28Speaker 6: things getting?
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Hey, we had some questions of listeners about the husband,
- 29:33Speaker 3: Patrick Clancy. Apparently got there first. He went in the
- 29:35Speaker 3: basement before the police. What's the deal with this husband?
- 29:40Speaker 6: Well, you know, no one has accused him other than,
- 29:45Speaker 6: you know, internet trolls, these crazy people on TikTok. No
- 29:49Speaker 6: one's accused him of being involved in it. And she
- 29:52Speaker 6: has admitted that she killed them. But they're just saying that,
- 29:59Speaker 6: you know, oh, he was out. But, you know, the
- 30:02Speaker 6: thing is, and we don't know, and actually he's on
- 30:06Speaker 6: at least one surveillance camera. He went to the drugstore,
- 30:09Speaker 6: the CVS, to pick up some prescription medication. He also
- 30:13Speaker 6: went and picked up some food. I don't know if
- 30:15Speaker 6: he's on the camera, the surveillance camera at the restaurant,
- 30:19Speaker 6: but he's on at CVS. And so, you know, people
- 30:21Speaker 6: call in and I say, wait, you think Patrick Clancy
- 30:25Speaker 6: killed him? What about the... What about the surveillance camera
- 30:29Speaker 6: and the timestamps on? Oh, he counterfeited that.
- 30:36Speaker 5: What?
- 30:37Speaker 6: I mean, listen, we're back to Joy Reid country. I mean,
- 30:41Speaker 6: the time travelers hacking into her Twitter accounts. I mean,
- 30:48Speaker 6: they really lost it here.
- 30:51Speaker 3: So what's going to happen? They'll make a plea deal,
- 30:54Speaker 3: you think?
- 30:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I, it's, it's gotta be that. I mean, I,
- 30:58Speaker 6: I don't, I don't think Tim Cruz is a pretty
- 31:01Speaker 6: good district attorney. He's the only Republican district attorney in Massachusetts. And, uh, I,
- 31:07Speaker 6: I don't think he really, he wants to do this,
- 31:09Speaker 6: but what's he supposed to, what was he supposed to
- 31:11Speaker 6: do if he hadn't, if he hadn't, uh, you know, uh,
- 31:14Speaker 6: put her on trial, he would have been, you know,
- 31:17Speaker 6: criticized by everybody. And then he puts her on trial
- 31:20Speaker 6: and they're making her out like she's a, some kind
- 31:22Speaker 6: of a, feminist hero. I think they'll try to work
- 31:25Speaker 6: out some kind of deal. It's kind of a good
- 31:30Speaker 6: career move here for Kevin Reddington at the end. He
- 31:33Speaker 6: was involved with some fringe players in the Karen Reid case,
- 31:38Speaker 6: some of the black hats. He loses a lot of
- 31:44Speaker 6: cases too over the years, but this is a nice
- 31:47Speaker 6: way to cap his career. I think he'd like to
- 31:49Speaker 6: keep going year. I mean, how absurd was it that he, uh,
- 31:52Speaker 6: you know, uh, asked the president Trump to partner knowing
- 31:56Speaker 6: that president Trump couldn't partner. And then he's saying it was,
- 31:59Speaker 6: you know, he's basically comes back to Boston and says, well,
- 32:01Speaker 6: this was a crafty move. I'm going to try to
- 32:04Speaker 6: get Trump to intervene with his fellow Republican. I mean,
- 32:07Speaker 6: can you imagine under any possible circumstances that Trump would
- 32:11Speaker 6: make a call to the district attorney and say, can
- 32:13Speaker 6: you drop the charges against this woman who murdered admits
- 32:18Speaker 6: murdering three of her kids? I mean, Talk about delusional
- 32:22Speaker 6: if they think that's ever going to happen.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Well, Howie Carr, I knew you'd be the guy to ask.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Great stuff. And, hey, the new book, when does it
- 32:29Speaker 3: come out?
