- 0:00Speaker 1: Where you or comes for common sense?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Mark Simone on sevent ten wr.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Well, Hey, a little technical difficulty, but we're on everything
- 0:12Speaker 3: sounds good. I can hear myself. We've got a lot
- 0:16Speaker 3: to get to this hour. Also, we have a special
- 0:18Speaker 3: guest in the studio. It's IRV. Right, turned the mic on.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Try it again, Hi, it's IRV Goldfarb, IRV Goldfard. Now
- 0:27Speaker 3: you might be saying, whoserve Goldfarb? Well, every year we
- 0:31Speaker 3: do this big event for charity where we raise money
- 0:34Speaker 3: for what was the world hunger.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Thigh hunger feeding America.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I'm not sure we're feeding America. And one of the
- 0:39Speaker 3: prizes you can bid, you have to bid a lot
- 0:41Speaker 3: of money, but you can win a visit to the
- 0:43Speaker 3: studio to come sit here and IRV, why do I
- 0:46Speaker 3: I seem to know you? You?
- 0:48Speaker 1: I won the same auction in twenty twenty two actually
- 0:51Speaker 1: and spent a fun hour here with you at that time.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Well, I think you're the first auction winner ever to
- 0:56Speaker 3: come back again and do it twice now, But the
- 1:00Speaker 3: last time you did a couple of years ago. Were
- 1:02Speaker 3: we in the other studio?
- 1:03Speaker 1: I got it was impossible to find that, but the
- 1:05Speaker 1: cab drive had no idea what I was talking about.
- 1:06Speaker 1: This one was a lot easier.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, our old studios were in Tribeca. We've left Tribeca.
- 1:12Speaker 3: We're now in midtown Manhattan, right here on fifty fifth
- 1:15Speaker 3: in a big, beautiful skyscraper. Much better here. Did you
- 1:18Speaker 3: get a chance to look around?
- 1:20Speaker 1: I did, Yeah, walked around so some of the studios.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yeah, we got Charlemagne over in that studio over there,
- 1:25Speaker 3: Elvis Duran down the hall, Jim Kurr that way, and
- 1:28Speaker 3: Irv's gonna just sit and is this exciting to sit
- 1:31Speaker 3: and watch this for an hour?
- 1:32Speaker 1: Well, I mean last time I was here, I was
- 1:34Speaker 1: able to participate a little bit.
- 1:35Speaker 3: So yeah. And of course you want to plug anything mentioning,
- 1:38Speaker 3: that's part of the deal. Do you want to I do?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Actually, I actually started writing a blog about a year ago.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Oh no, I was in radio for twenty years and
- 1:48Speaker 1: I worked at ESPN, So, like you, I met a
- 1:50Speaker 1: lot of famous personages and I had some interesting stories.
- 1:53Speaker 1: So I sent it to seventy five of my closest
- 1:55Speaker 1: friends and I got good feedback. So now I'm uploading
- 1:58Speaker 1: those blogs onto And where did people go? They can
- 2:01Speaker 1: go to substack. It's called Irvin's substack. Irv I n
- 2:05Speaker 1: bostrophe s Irvin substack. Unfortunately, I found out last night
- 2:08Speaker 1: there are two Irvin's substack. Mine is earth Goldfarb. You
- 2:12Speaker 1: see my name, and you can read stories about me
- 2:14Speaker 1: chauffeuring Bruce Springsteen around back when he was a human being.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I worked for Harvey Weinstein one night. I had a
- 2:21Speaker 1: lot of interesting story.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yeah, and people like.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Them not crazy about the name Irvin's.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Well, my name is Irvin, So I just put my
- 2:27Speaker 1: name in. It just popped up his Irvin's substack.
- 2:29Speaker 3: So I just kept like gold Farb stups stack. Gold
- 2:32Speaker 3: Farb sounds like something like a like a German candy
- 2:35Speaker 3: boy or something.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I will go back and change it, and so I
- 2:39Speaker 1: won't confuse with the other Irvan. I'll make a gold
- 2:40Speaker 1: farm substack.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Well, as long as it's doing well, that's important. Where'd
- 2:44Speaker 3: you drive Bruce Springsteen to.
- 2:45Speaker 1: A record store in Rochester? I met him at the pool.
- 2:48Speaker 1: He asked if there was a record store around. I
- 2:50Speaker 1: knew there was a record store, he said, and thank you.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I said, you want to ride, Bruce? He said, yeah, Man,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I'll take a ride. Put him in the car draw
- 2:56Speaker 1: him to the record store. People recognized him after a while,
- 2:59Speaker 1: chase this down the escaletter and we sat in the
- 3:01Speaker 1: car and talked for a while after It was an unforgettable.
- 3:04Speaker 3: All right, Well you can read these stories.
- 3:06Speaker 4: On Irvin's substack.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Irvin's Substack, And what did you do with the ESPN?
- 3:12Speaker 1: I was mostly I did stats, baseball stats, hockey stats.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I put the graphics up on the scene on the screen,
- 3:18Speaker 1: so very good numbers.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Guy, excellent. So and paid a lot of money to
- 3:23Speaker 3: be our auction winner. Money goes to charity to feed
- 3:26Speaker 3: the hungry. And again, first time anybody's ever done this twice?
- 3:32Speaker 1: So should I do it again next year? Should I
- 3:34Speaker 1: back off?
- 3:34Speaker 3: Yeah, if you want, as long as you keep winning.
- 3:36Speaker 3: We have a high roller audience and they do spend
- 3:40Speaker 3: a lot of money on charity.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I would have thought that I, with a lot of
- 3:43Speaker 1: people would dance to this.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Yeah. So anyway, IV will be with us throughout the hour.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We'll get back to IRV and to jump in if
- 3:51Speaker 3: you want. Hey, Rosie o'donald snuck back into the country.
- 3:56Speaker 3: You remember, she's leaving. She's leaving the country, never going
- 3:59Speaker 3: to set foot in America. While Trump is president. She
- 4:01Speaker 3: did sneak back, apparently about two weeks ago, said she
- 4:05Speaker 3: wanted to see her family. She missed her family. You
- 4:08Speaker 3: ever see her family. I don't think anybody want to
- 4:10Speaker 3: see them again. But she did come back, and she
- 4:12Speaker 3: also said being insane, she said she wanted to make
- 4:17Speaker 3: sure it was safe. She wanted to make sure she
- 4:19Speaker 3: could get in and out of America. Now, I don't
- 4:21Speaker 3: know what she's picturing, getting kidnapped, getting arrested Ice agents.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't know what she's imagining. But she came and went.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Everything was fine, she saw our kids. Nobody cared. If
- 4:33Speaker 3: you look at her nowadays, nobody would recognize her. You
- 4:35Speaker 3: wouldn't know it was Rosie o'donnald. She looks absolutely she
- 4:38Speaker 3: looks like Jim Acosta. Now she looks totally different. She
- 4:43Speaker 3: does have Irish citizenship. And you got to remember she
- 4:48Speaker 3: started the feud, this blood feud with Trump back when
- 4:51Speaker 3: she was on the View. She started talking about him
- 4:54Speaker 3: one day and you remember she somehow took her hair
- 4:56Speaker 3: and put it in the shape of Trump's hair, and
- 4:58Speaker 3: she really got ugly, personal ugly, imitating him. And then
- 5:02Speaker 3: he went after and she got worse. You know, these
- 5:04Speaker 3: are like two insult kings going after each other. So
- 5:09Speaker 3: it really got ugly, and she did sneak back into
- 5:12Speaker 3: the country. Now, also Allen who left the country, I
- 5:16Speaker 3: just bought another twenty five million dollar mansion in Santa Barbara,
- 5:20Speaker 3: indicating she's going to want to come back a lot
- 5:23Speaker 3: more so. Apparently when you leave America, you really, really
- 5:28Speaker 3: really don't enjoy it. Other celebrity news, Spike Lee a
- 5:31Speaker 3: lot of people upset with him. He showed up the
- 5:35Speaker 3: NBA All Star Game, the first Israeli born player competing
- 5:40Speaker 3: in the NBA All Star Game. Spike Lee shows up
- 5:42Speaker 3: wearing a Palestinian outfit, a Palestinian flag, a Palestinian this,
- 5:47Speaker 3: a Palestinian that. It's stupid, it's disgusting, it's anti Semitic
- 5:52Speaker 3: in that situation, but it's Spike Lee. Would you've expected
- 5:55Speaker 3: any different from Spike Lee. It's just it's the problem
- 6:00Speaker 3: that democrats have. You know, when Jesse Jackson. First you
- 6:04Speaker 3: had Martin Luther King, big civil rights leader, a big
- 6:08Speaker 3: left wing guy. Great job. Then you had Jesse Jackson,
- 6:11Speaker 3: not not Martin Luther King, but it wasn't so bad.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And then somewhere along the way the Nation of Islam,
- 6:17Speaker 3: Fharakhn jumps into the civil rights movement, bringing with him
- 6:21Speaker 3: anti Semitism. It then starts to creep into the Democratic Party.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Maybe I don't know there has it been there all along, maybe,
- 6:28Speaker 3: but it brought it out. There's an anti Semitic problem
- 6:31Speaker 3: that Democrats are going to have to deal with. It's
- 6:34Speaker 3: gonna it's gonna just haunt them forever if they don't
- 6:37Speaker 3: get rid of it. It's gotten worse. But then everything
- 6:40Speaker 3: in the democratic world has gotten worse. They've just gotten
- 6:42Speaker 3: totally insane, absolutely crazy, just over the top nuts in
- 6:46Speaker 3: the last few years. So, hey, have you seen the
- 6:49Speaker 3: JFK Junior mini series?
- 6:52Speaker 4: I saw the promos for I haven't seen the series.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Apparently this is the hottest series in the world. JFK Junior.
- 6:57Speaker 3: It's mostly about his media Carolyn Bissett. You know, he
- 7:02Speaker 3: was like the ultimate playboy of Manhattan women, all of them,
- 7:05Speaker 3: but then he met this one woman and this is like,
- 7:08Speaker 3: for a lot of women, the fairy tale love story
- 7:11Speaker 3: that the ultimate bachelor can fall in love and want
- 7:14Speaker 3: to settle down and want to get married, and it's
- 7:17Speaker 3: all about their relationship and this and that how they
- 7:20Speaker 3: got married. This incredible love story. Now, JFK. Junior was
- 7:24Speaker 3: a very good friend of mine. We used to go
- 7:25Speaker 3: out a lot, and he was quite the unbelievable bachelor.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And he did meet Carolyn Bassett and settled down. I
- 7:32Speaker 3: didn't see him as much after that, but then I
- 7:33Speaker 3: started to see him again a lot, and he was
- 7:35Speaker 3: going out. So I don't know what they show in
- 7:38Speaker 3: this miniseries, but after a while with this marriage, he
- 7:43Speaker 3: was out again roaming around. So it wasn't quite the
- 7:46Speaker 3: fairy tale you imagine. Now, Apparently in the in the series,
- 7:51Speaker 3: he meets her and he takes her on the first
- 7:53Speaker 3: date to a certain restaurant in the village East village.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I don't have the name of it. It's an Indian restaurant,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and I guess they actually went to the real place
- 8:02Speaker 3: and filmed it there. And you see them going the
- 8:04Speaker 3: first day to this Indian restaurant in the village. Well,
- 8:08Speaker 3: apparently because of that, this restaurant is now the hardest
- 8:12Speaker 3: reservation in the world to get. People are lined up
- 8:14Speaker 3: for miles. They all want to get into this restaurant. Now, again,
- 8:17Speaker 3: I knew the guy pretty well and he was a
- 8:19Speaker 3: great guy, but nobody had worse taste in food than him.
- 8:24Speaker 3: He didn't know anything about the only person who had
- 8:27Speaker 3: worst taste in food probably his mother. The fact when
- 8:29Speaker 3: his mother had a big dinner party, everybody knew to
- 8:32Speaker 3: eat first, because it's like that old waspy society food
- 8:36Speaker 3: where it's nothing has any flavor. But so I wouldn't
- 8:40Speaker 3: go by him on what restaurants to go do. But
- 8:43Speaker 3: it doesn't matter. The place is packed all the time.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I've noticed a lot of this. This is the new
- 8:49Speaker 3: thing with making the movies about people, Like with JFK. Junior,
- 8:54Speaker 3: you make it into much more of a perfect marriage
- 8:57Speaker 3: than it actually was. Or have you seen the movie
- 9:00Speaker 3: The Marty Supreme Just saw it a few weeks ago. Yes,
- 9:02Speaker 3: it's unbelievable, action packed, it's amazing. Now I knew the
- 9:05Speaker 3: real guy. His name was Marty Reisman, Uh, and he
- 9:09Speaker 3: was a nice guy. But he was maybe the most
- 9:10Speaker 3: boring human being you could ever be around. He was
- 9:14Speaker 3: and he was a ping pong player champion. And if
- 9:16Speaker 3: you see the movie, all the ping pong stuff is true,
- 9:20Speaker 3: but all the other stuff has just made up. The gangsters,
- 9:23Speaker 3: the gun chases, the car chases, gunfire, the movie star.
- 9:26Speaker 3: All of that was made up, total fiction. So that's
- 9:29Speaker 3: the new style of biography. Start with the real story
- 9:32Speaker 3: and then just make up all kinds of nonsense. Hey,
- 9:35Speaker 3: there's a nail salon and I want to mention the name.
- 9:39Speaker 3: But it's really nice. It's beautiful, it's excellent. Everybody tells
- 9:42Speaker 3: me it's the finest nail salon in the city. So
- 9:46Speaker 3: I'm looking. I don't know. I just looked it up
- 9:47Speaker 3: on Yelp. It got the worst review I've ever It's
- 9:50Speaker 3: got horrible reviews. It's magnificent. How could I get such
- 9:54Speaker 3: bad reviews. I'm reading the Yelp reviews. This woman says
- 9:57Speaker 3: it's I will never set foot in there again. They
- 10:01Speaker 3: had Fox News playing on the TV. There's another one.
- 10:06Speaker 3: You've got to boycott. I won't mention the name. Boycott it.
- 10:09Speaker 3: They have Fox News on the TV there. This is unbelievable.
- 10:12Speaker 3: This is how just modern day democrats the most intolerant
- 10:16Speaker 3: people in the world. I've had a lot of restaurant
- 10:19Speaker 3: managers tell me that, you know restaurant that has TVs
- 10:23Speaker 3: around the bar or all of it, but that if
- 10:25Speaker 3: Fox News is on, people will start yelling and screaming,
- 10:28Speaker 3: demanding they changed the channel, or demanding they changed their
- 10:31Speaker 3: table so they don't have to look at Fox News again,
- 10:35Speaker 3: counting the left wing to be totally intolerant all the time.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Hey, herv, where do you live in Jersey Union City?
- 10:42Speaker 3: So when you came into the city, what was your
- 10:43Speaker 3: impression as far as garbage snow?
- 10:46Speaker 1: Well, I was kind of brought up in New York,
- 10:48Speaker 1: so that doesn't surprise me. What did stand out this time?
- 10:52Speaker 1: I am seeing more masks again. I'm seeing more, I
- 10:55Speaker 1: say a little bit in Jersey, but I'm seeing them
- 10:57Speaker 1: here the more I come into the city. What that's
- 11:00Speaker 1: all about?
- 11:01Speaker 3: Oh, well, it's good. It's the left wing identifying themselves
- 11:04Speaker 3: with the mess. Although it was pretty cold the last
- 11:06Speaker 3: few weeks. I saw a lot of people wearing masks
- 11:08Speaker 3: during the cold snap. But it was great. The snow melted,
- 11:13Speaker 3: it's almost all gone. The garbage got picked up. Although
- 11:15Speaker 3: today walking around I know it's the garbage's back. Enormous
- 11:19Speaker 3: piles of garbage on every street. So that's mom, Donnie.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Not good with the not good with anything right now.
- 11:27Speaker 3: A management disaster. And by the way, the Emergency Response
- 11:31Speaker 3: Director who's been there for years, just left. He quit. Now,
- 11:35Speaker 3: the good news is he kept recommending his number two,
- 11:38Speaker 3: the deputy director, and said she'd be perfect. She's been
- 11:42Speaker 3: there almost thirty years. She knows what she's doing. The
- 11:45Speaker 3: good news is Mom, Donnie just appointed her, made her
- 11:48Speaker 3: the director. A lot of people thought he'd bring in
- 11:50Speaker 3: some left wing crazy kook, but he did appoint her.
- 11:54Speaker 3: So that's pretty good news. Hey, we'll take a break.
- 11:58Speaker 3: We'll take some calls. Next hundred three two one zero
- 12:02Speaker 3: seven ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one
- 12:06Speaker 3: zero seven ten. Now listen. As I said, we got
- 12:08Speaker 3: a lot of big high rollers in the audience. This
- 12:11Speaker 3: station has the highest they're called the c Suite Index.
- 12:17Speaker 3: That's how many CEOs CFOs coos. Listen. Our c suite
- 12:23Speaker 3: indexes two seventy two normals one hundred. So we got
- 12:27Speaker 3: a lot of big executives. We we got IRV over here.
- 12:31Speaker 3: There's a big winner of our auction price. But what
- 12:34Speaker 3: we're doing is we're going to have a big exclusive
- 12:37Speaker 3: business networking event coming up. It's going to be March nineteenth,
- 12:42Speaker 3: six to eight pm. It'll be in the evening Cocktails
- 12:46Speaker 3: and it'll be a lot of CEOs, a lot of
- 12:48Speaker 3: business leaders, and if you want to come to it
- 12:50Speaker 3: you can. You have to RSVP because the space is limited.
- 12:54Speaker 3: And we're going to have this at this beautiful new venue.
- 12:57Speaker 3: It's called two Park Avenue, Park Avenue. I think it's
- 13:01Speaker 3: like fortieth Street. It's just two blocks from Grand Central,
- 13:04Speaker 3: but to Park Avenue. It's this beautiful office building. The
- 13:08Speaker 3: venue is on the top and it hasn't credible views,
- 13:11Speaker 3: also has this big, magnificent terrace. So the event's going
- 13:14Speaker 3: to be a lot of CEOs, a lot of business leaders.
- 13:17Speaker 3: If you want to come to this and network and mingle,
- 13:20Speaker 3: you can do that. I'll be there. I'll be talking
- 13:23Speaker 3: a little, Larry MENTI will and Curtis Sliwa will speak
- 13:27Speaker 3: and if you've never seen if you've never seen Curtis speak,
- 13:29Speaker 3: he's just dazzling doing those speeches. But if you want
- 13:33Speaker 3: to come, it's six to eight pm. You have a
- 13:35Speaker 3: chance to meet a lot of business leaders CEOs to
- 13:38Speaker 3: Park Avenue. This is a beautiful if you want to
- 13:41Speaker 3: do a corporate event, a business event, this is one
- 13:44Speaker 3: of the most beautiful new event spaces to Park Avenue. Now,
- 13:48Speaker 3: if you want to come, you got an RSVP. Just
- 13:50Speaker 3: go to seven ten WR dot com slash Live. Seven
- 13:56Speaker 3: ten WR dot com slash Live. It's in March nineteenth,
- 14:02Speaker 3: but we'll take some calls next on seven to ten WR.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Inside from the inside. This is seven ten wors Mark
- 14:12Speaker 5: tramone show.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Well take some calls in the studio, is IRV. It's
- 14:17Speaker 3: part of the deal when you're the big auction winner.
- 14:20Speaker 3: You got to spend a lot of money. It's all
- 14:21Speaker 3: goes to charity. You get to sit in the studio
- 14:24Speaker 3: and watch for an hour. How exciting is this, IRV?
- 14:26Speaker 4: This is incredibly exciting.
- 14:27Speaker 1: By the way, I've got to congratulate you on that.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I see the signs that to the Barre Media Award Major.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yeah, we were voted the number one show and that's
- 14:34Speaker 3: actually for last year. We just wanted again this year.
- 14:37Speaker 3: We've got to have a new poster. Another one put
- 14:39Speaker 3: over there, I guess, but it's deserved. Are they working
- 14:43Speaker 3: on it? Oh? I have a new one coming pretty soon.
- 14:46Speaker 3: So an IRV, what'd you want to tell everybody to
- 14:48Speaker 3: go to your.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Substack, go to my substack, Irvin's substack on substack, if
- 14:53Speaker 1: hopefully you can find.
- 14:54Speaker 3: It, Irvin's substack should be easy to find. All right,
- 14:57Speaker 3: let's take some calls. Let's go to Mike and Florida
- 15:00Speaker 3: and Mike, how you doing.
- 15:02Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark as Mike, and a big shout out
- 15:05Speaker 6: to IRV. You know, one thing these liberals keep.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Proving is they all have glass jaws, whether it's Colbert Rosie, O'Donnell,
- 15:12Speaker 2: hakm Jeffries, who, by the way, his uncle Leondard Jeffries
- 15:16Speaker 2: was the biggest anti semi jew hater on the face
- 15:19Speaker 2: of the earth at one point.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Wow, he's got competition.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, true, now he does, but back in the day
- 15:25Speaker 2: he was like the leader of this stuff.
- 15:27Speaker 6: But they none of them could take a punch. And
- 15:29Speaker 6: not that the Republicans punch back that often, but when
- 15:32Speaker 6: they do, they go cry into you know, themselves, and
- 15:35Speaker 6: that their award show. They go out and they you know,
- 15:38Speaker 6: they cry to the public and it's amazing that none
- 15:40Speaker 6: of them can take a punch.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Well, the reason for that is because the media just
- 15:44Speaker 3: caters fake news New York Times watch. All they do
- 15:47Speaker 3: is just cater to them. So if you're a Republican,
- 15:50Speaker 3: if you're a Trump you're used to getting attack left
- 15:52Speaker 3: and right all day and night. They're not used to it.
- 15:55Speaker 3: They live in this bubble. They never turn on anything
- 15:57Speaker 3: except mainstream media. Thanks for calling, Mike. Let's go to
- 16:01Speaker 3: Joe in Elmwood Park. Joe, how you doing?
- 16:04Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark, how you doing?
- 16:06Speaker 4: Kudos to Vincent.
- 16:07Speaker 3: I heard your guests lived in New Jersey because I
- 16:10Speaker 3: asked if you call that, but okay, go ahead. How
- 16:12Speaker 3: he likes his utility bill.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I am not crazy about my utility bill thinking of
- 16:17Speaker 1: a lot of Jersey just because of that. It's it's
- 16:20Speaker 1: the jump was incredible the last couple of years. My
- 16:23Speaker 1: Joe is open. I couldn't believe it.
- 16:24Speaker 3: So what's the deal your electric bill?
- 16:26Speaker 1: And that was PSG and jump from like on the
- 16:29Speaker 1: bad months to jump from like six hundred to like
- 16:31Speaker 1: eleven hundred out of nowhere undred dollars one month. I
- 16:35Speaker 1: was right, it was crazy for electricity. Well it's gas electricity.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Oh you thank Phil Murphy.
- 16:42Speaker 5: And then she's gonna she was supposed to put a
- 16:44Speaker 5: cap on it and it went up thirty dollars more
- 16:47Speaker 5: a month.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Well, you can also thank Andrew Cuomo for closing Indian
- 16:50Speaker 3: Point that was twenty five percent of our energy and
- 16:53Speaker 3: then killing natural gas, which would have brought everybody's bill down.
- 16:56Speaker 3: So where are you gonna Where are you gonna move?
- 16:58Speaker 3: If you want to get away from that, I have
- 17:00Speaker 3: no choice. I'm still here.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I've been told Pennsylvania, I've just betched the advice. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: got low taxes, cheaper houses, and nice areas.
- 17:09Speaker 4: All right, thinking about it, But.
- 17:11Speaker 3: You never know, you know, you got all the trouble
- 17:14Speaker 3: to move. And then you know, like Florida, who knows
- 17:16Speaker 3: one day they could get a democratic governor and it
- 17:19Speaker 3: goes crazy. Let's go to Bill and Lafayette. Bill, how
- 17:23Speaker 3: you doing okay? Mark?
- 17:25Speaker 7: There's an author out of and he's a retired professor,
- 17:29Speaker 7: George skia Lava out of Harvard.
- 17:32Speaker 3: And he already I can't stand the professor Harvard.
- 17:36Speaker 7: Oh my god, he is a crazy guy. He runs
- 17:41Speaker 7: a common wheel spellbound article and uses Catholicism as a
- 17:46Speaker 7: springboard into telling everybody how evil and disgusting President Trump is.
- 17:54Speaker 7: And I'm wondering about these people from Harvard between the
- 17:58Speaker 7: ages of seventy and eighty. I wonder if they were
- 18:01Speaker 7: all followers of Timothy Leary and just got some hit
- 18:04Speaker 7: selves on some bad acid trips.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you remember in the late sixties early seventies,
- 18:10Speaker 3: all the left wing radicals on campus, the hippies, the
- 18:13Speaker 3: left wing, they grew up and they became the professors.
- 18:15Speaker 3: They're the professors, and then they've raised in indoctrinated generations
- 18:19Speaker 3: of crazies. Hey, by the way, you know how you're
- 18:21Speaker 3: talking about the Epstein files. How you can search When
- 18:24Speaker 3: you go to the Epstein file site, you can just
- 18:26Speaker 3: type in the search bar. Nothing comes up more than Harvard.
- 18:29Speaker 3: There is no person place that gets more hits than Harvard.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Epstein was an enormous part of Harvard, from the president
- 18:39Speaker 3: to the professors. Nobody was more involved with Epstein than Harvard.
- 18:43Speaker 3: So just remember that. Let's go to Johnny and Staten Island. Johnny,
- 18:48Speaker 3: how you.
- 18:48Speaker 8: Doing, Hey, Mark, long time those book listen new tactics.
- 18:54Speaker 8: Do want to add on to the city.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 18:57Speaker 8: Did he get it? Said from the rich or to corporations?
- 19:00Speaker 3: That's no good.
- 19:01Speaker 8: Uh, the one to put charge poppy taxes worse than me.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I got allergies too. I could keep coughing.
- 19:08Speaker 8: And yeah, but when we start with the MTA, The
- 19:12Speaker 8: MTA spent two billion dollars on the metro call to
- 19:16Speaker 8: get rid of it. How about we stopped all the projects.
- 19:19Speaker 8: We got enough buzzes and trained, we got enough employees.
- 19:24Speaker 3: And mt is a disaster, But that's that's local. That's
- 19:27Speaker 3: not MTA is not Mom Donnie. That's local. She controls
- 19:29Speaker 3: the MTA.
- 19:30Speaker 8: No, But the thing is, you know she can take
- 19:33Speaker 8: the money and give it to Mom Donnie and then
- 19:36Speaker 8: you go and get rid of the management and MTA.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Well, she did actually give Mom Donnie one point five
- 19:42Speaker 3: billion to just tie him over for a few weeks.
- 19:44Speaker 3: But the MTA budget could easily be cut in half.
- 19:48Speaker 3: It's all waste, you know. They spend like I forget
- 19:50Speaker 3: what the number is. It's like five hundred million at
- 19:53Speaker 3: track mile to build subways. The actual cost should be
- 19:56Speaker 3: like two million. You know, it's to pave the mile
- 19:58Speaker 3: a highway it's forty dollars. We spend a million and
- 20:02Speaker 3: a half a mile to pave highway. It's just all
- 20:05Speaker 3: waste and fraud. You could easily easily clean that up. Well, Hey,
- 20:10Speaker 3: coming up next, we'll talk to irv's favorite and cold
- 20:14Speaker 3: Hey and Coulter coming up next. Lots to talk to
- 20:17Speaker 3: her about on seven to ten, wor Mark Simon On
- 20:22Speaker 3: dor Well and Culter, the best selling author, the great columnist.
- 20:28Speaker 3: You can make sure you follow her on Twitter. Great
- 20:30Speaker 3: stuff on Twitter, but even better her substack where she
- 20:34Speaker 3: does columns and podcasts and interviews, videos, all sorts of stuff.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Go to Andculter dot substack dot com and Culter.
- 20:43Speaker 5: How you doing fantastic? How maimone?
- 20:46Speaker 3: I'm good? Now? We have a visitor in the studio today.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Every year, well every year we do this big charity
- 20:52Speaker 3: auction for hunger and one of the prizes is for
- 20:55Speaker 3: a lot of money, you get to come sit in
- 20:57Speaker 3: the studio. And the winner this year is Erv Goldfarb.
- 21:03Speaker 3: And he's the first guy to actually bid and win
- 21:05Speaker 3: this thing twice. He did a few years ago and
- 21:08Speaker 3: he talked to you back then. He wants to talk
- 21:09Speaker 3: to you again.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Oh good verb. I hope this charity isn't run by
- 21:14Speaker 5: the Somali No, it's a real one.
- 21:17Speaker 3: But he is a substack too, right.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I just I started uploading my blog onto substack a
- 21:21Speaker 1: few months ago. Based on your success, I decided to
- 21:24Speaker 1: do the same thing.
- 21:26Speaker 5: Oh excellent, doesn't substack fun, no no ads, no censorship.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I really like plus people try to help each other,
- 21:32Speaker 1: Like if you don't have a lot of subscriptions. They're like, well,
- 21:34Speaker 1: send me your substack and i'll send you mind people.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Kind of it's like a community.
- 21:37Speaker 4: I like it.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Oh, I don't like that part.
- 21:42Speaker 4: He gets readers.
- 21:43Speaker 3: And I had a question for you.
- 21:46Speaker 4: If it's okay.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I don't want take too much now, but I'm thinking
- 21:48Speaker 1: about this. You do say surprising stuff once in a
- 21:52Speaker 1: while that that makes the left very angry. It makes
- 21:55Speaker 1: me think, and a lot of times when I think
- 21:56Speaker 1: about it, I'm like, you know what she was right
- 21:58Speaker 1: about that? You infer you I think a lot about it.
- 22:03Speaker 1: You inferred I think on the show a few years
- 22:04Speaker 1: ago that Joseph McCarthy was misunderstood and gets a bad rap.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And I'm having a little trouble wrapping my mind around that.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Can you explain that a little bit?
- 22:14Speaker 5: Yes, I am so glad you asked more than that.
- 22:19Speaker 5: It is laid out in in I would say, verb
- 22:23Speaker 5: and detail an exciting story in my book Treason. It's
- 22:28Speaker 5: a good couple of chapters that The argument of my
- 22:31Speaker 5: book Treason is that liberals have consistently rooted for our
- 22:35Speaker 5: country's enemies basically since the mcarthy era. And I had
- 22:41Speaker 5: just you know, my first book was High Crimes and
- 22:44Speaker 5: Misdemeanors about Plinton, and that was the first time I
- 22:46Speaker 5: really I mean I was practicing lawyer before that. That
- 22:49Speaker 5: was the first time I really noticed just the the
- 22:54Speaker 5: mountains of lies that were deployed to defend Bill Clinton,
- 23:00Speaker 5: to malign anyone who was opposed to him, from Lucy
- 23:03Speaker 5: Ange Goldberg to Ken Starr and and reading the true history,
- 23:09Speaker 5: which is very hard to get on Joe McCarthy of
- 23:12Speaker 5: Joe McCarthy, I realized, Oh my gosh, it's the same thing,
- 23:16Speaker 5: except we didn't have the Internet. It's it's Clinton was
- 23:21Speaker 5: like the comical mirror image of what they did to
- 23:25Speaker 5: McCarthy he had. I'll say briefly, but I do recommend
- 23:29Speaker 5: that you read the book, for you'll be amazed at
- 23:33Speaker 5: the facts of the case. One thing you will notice,
- 23:35Speaker 5: I'll say this quickly, is that all of the attacks
- 23:39Speaker 5: of McCarthy, they're always as they were on people like
- 23:43Speaker 5: Ken Starr and Lucianner. And I suppose me there are
- 23:45Speaker 5: all these generalities. He was a liar. He was a big,
- 23:48Speaker 5: fat liar. He destroyed reputations. But my book has the
- 23:53Speaker 5: facts and and you'll notice their side does tend to
- 24:00Speaker 5: not rely heavily on facts or to repeat the myths
- 24:05Speaker 5: that they have created about him. One of my friends
- 24:07Speaker 5: is living in Japan at the time, knew a lot
- 24:11Speaker 5: of the publishers they published my book Trees, and he
- 24:13Speaker 5: said the publisher came to him and when he read
- 24:15Speaker 5: the book, he said, this book says the opposite of
- 24:18Speaker 5: everything I've ever heard about Joe McCarthy, every book we've
- 24:21Speaker 5: ever published about that period of history. But I believe
- 24:25Speaker 5: hers because she has facts.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Now, Joe McCarthy with the Communist stuff, I assumed communists
- 24:30Speaker 3: to be talking about Russians. Who was looking for Russian
- 24:32Speaker 3: influence in American government? Is that what it is?
- 24:34Speaker 5: Was specifically that was the only thing he was interested
- 24:37Speaker 5: in in our state, our state department. I go through
- 24:40Speaker 5: what the equivalent would have been at the beginning of
- 24:43Speaker 5: the War on Terror in the Bush administration of all
- 24:46Speaker 5: of these active, active agents with the Communist Party just
- 24:51Speaker 5: riddled throughout our government. He was not going around attacking
- 24:55Speaker 5: journalists or actors, not that I mean Ronald took on
- 25:01Speaker 5: the Communists in in in Hollywood. It was a big
- 25:05Speaker 5: problem that they were influencing movies and popular culture. But
- 25:08Speaker 5: that wasn't That wasn't McCarthy's thing. His was we have
- 25:13Speaker 5: and and FDR knew it. We have known members of
- 25:18Speaker 5: the Communist Party working in our government and undermining, under
- 25:23Speaker 5: having enormous influence on our foreign policy. Now, what was
- 25:27Speaker 5: crucial about when I published Trees and is the Venona
- 25:30Speaker 5: Papers had had been released thanks to the work of
- 25:35Speaker 5: Daniel Patrick moynihan. This whole time during the fifties, we
- 25:40Speaker 5: couldn't release it because we didn't want them to know,
- 25:42Speaker 5: so the public never knew. We had figured out how
- 25:47Speaker 5: to read Soviet cable. Some small outfit within I think
- 25:51Speaker 5: it was within the military, and they yeah, and it
- 25:55Speaker 5: was called the Venona Project, but I think it was
- 25:57Speaker 5: within the military. They were reading all of these Soviet transcripts.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Only a small percentage of them, like ten percent have
- 26:05Speaker 5: been decrypted at this point, and basically everything everything we
- 26:11Speaker 5: McCarthy was saying, it was it was so much worse.
- 26:15Speaker 5: We know, for example, that the Rosenbergs that were communists.
- 26:22Speaker 5: His his code name was Liberal.
- 26:27Speaker 3: But but the myth was created that it was just
- 26:30Speaker 3: some poor guy who as a college kid, went to
- 26:32Speaker 3: one meeting and he didn't know what it was, and
- 26:34Speaker 3: now his whole life is ruined.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Right, right, And that was certainly not the case. No,
- 26:38Speaker 5: And you could see it in their policy making decisions.
- 26:41Speaker 5: I mean the biggest one was, oh, I can't even
- 26:45Speaker 5: think of the one that that elder Hiss, Elder Hiss.
- 26:50Speaker 5: He was the most damaging to our foreign policy. Sat
- 26:54Speaker 5: at Roosevelt's right hand, and he was I mean they
- 26:58Speaker 5: were all, you know, he's very elite, Harvard educated. Three
- 27:04Speaker 5: name wasps and oh, well, you know, some of our
- 27:07Speaker 5: children will grow up and be musicians, some will be Communists.
- 27:11Speaker 5: It was just it was just sort of accepted by
- 27:14Speaker 5: our elite.
- 27:14Speaker 3: So he had this problem with the alger hissies around.
- 27:17Speaker 3: But didn't McCarthy once the camera showed up, go a
- 27:19Speaker 3: little crazy and go too far, too many people, too
- 27:22Speaker 3: much grandstanding.
- 27:24Speaker 5: No, actually that that is well for one thing. I mean,
- 27:28Speaker 5: look at Trump. Sometimes you do need to be He
- 27:32Speaker 5: was very McCarthy was funny, he was boisterous, he was charismatic.
- 27:37Speaker 5: He had that Irish charm.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Charismatic McCarthy.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Yes, he got oh he got America's attention. I'll mention,
- 27:47Speaker 5: by the way, you know, they try to bury this
- 27:51Speaker 5: but the Kennedy family loved McCarthy, wanted McCarthy to marry.
- 27:55Speaker 5: The father Joseph McCarthy wanted his daughter to marry McCarthy.
- 28:01Speaker 5: Bob Robert Kennedy worked for McCarthy. He only pushed aside
- 28:06Speaker 5: because Roy Cone was was very, very very smart. McCarthy
- 28:13Speaker 5: knew it, so Macarthy so wrote. Cone was definitely the
- 28:17Speaker 5: top of the heap on that committee. But you know,
- 28:20Speaker 5: when I interviewed Robert Kennedy Junior on my sub stack,
- 28:26Speaker 5: I started off, I was kind of joking about it.
- 28:28Speaker 5: I said, because you know, he's always talking about I
- 28:31Speaker 5: don't know measles, vaccines, all this other stuff. And I said,
- 28:34Speaker 5: you know, I was thinking of doing this entire sub sect,
- 28:37Speaker 5: just asking you about Jill McCarthy. And he must have
- 28:41Speaker 5: been I had just mentioned the joke. But the first
- 28:44Speaker 5: like twenty minutes, well ten minutes, let's say, is him
- 28:47Speaker 5: talking about McCarthy coming and hanging out with the family. Wow,
- 28:51Speaker 5: they were so close.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Interesting. So is this still up on substeck?
- 28:55Speaker 5: Yes it is.
- 28:56Speaker 3: And what's the book you wrote that deals with McCarthy treason? True?
- 29:01Speaker 5: Well, now it's all footnoted. And by the way, that
- 29:04Speaker 5: was my third book written I think around two thousand three,
- 29:10Speaker 5: two thousand and four. Now, I love all of my books,
- 29:13Speaker 5: but this is this was all sprung on me, so
- 29:17Speaker 5: I'm doing it for memory here. I'm not sure if
- 29:19Speaker 5: I was as smooth and describing it as I hope
- 29:21Speaker 5: I was when I was promoting the book.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Well, I have the book, and now I got to
- 29:24Speaker 3: go back and read the McCarthy stuff. Sounds fascinating. So, hey,
- 29:28Speaker 3: we only got a thirty.
- 29:29Speaker 5: Eight year is that it's really interesting and it's nice
- 29:30Speaker 5: to talk to you.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Or thank you very much, Ann, thanks for the answer.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Wow, we only got like thirty seconds here. Hey, you know,
- 29:36Speaker 3: if you go to the Epstein files, you know what
- 29:37Speaker 3: name comes up the most in the Epstein Harvard? Harvard.
- 29:42Speaker 5: You know, it's funny you say that. I almost made
- 29:45Speaker 5: that last put that in last week's column. I wrote
- 29:48Speaker 5: about other things, but I had a few points I
- 29:51Speaker 5: was going to make about the files, and one was
- 29:53Speaker 5: I was just randomly searching names to see how many
- 29:56Speaker 5: names came up more often than Trump's. You know, you
- 30:00Speaker 5: need an asterisk with that, as as you know the
- 30:05Speaker 5: mentions of Trump that the media is going so crazy over.
- 30:09Speaker 5: It's all the mentions are Jeffrey Epstein denouncing Trump. Yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 5: something like Trump emailing with him or saying, hey, when
- 30:16Speaker 5: gonna come to the end, can me see the girls again?
- 30:19Speaker 5: It's nothing from Trump. It's that this pedophile hated him.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Yeah, there were bitter enemies for like twenty years in
- 30:26Speaker 3: that file. So hey, we're out of time, but everybody
- 30:29Speaker 3: get to book Treason by and Culter. Read that stuff
- 30:32Speaker 3: and go to a twitter. It's great a tweeting, and
