- 0:26Speaker 3: Jesus in it too, And Nope.
- 0:29Speaker 1: John Legend's version was amazing. I don't know if they
- 0:32Speaker 1: did a whole live thing with and I saw.
- 0:35Speaker 3: I didn't see it the thing, but I saw a
- 0:38Speaker 3: little part of this one person singing this song and
- 0:41Speaker 3: he was singing so passionately. He was a bald guy,
- 0:45Speaker 3: very big gentleman, and he was singing so passionately.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Uh.
- 0:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I think he was playing Judas. Was he playing?
- 0:51Speaker 6: Yes?
- 0:51Speaker 1: I forgot the name of that actor. Yes, too, Well
- 0:54Speaker 1: you looked that up for me. He's amazing. I think
- 0:56Speaker 1: he won the Emmy for it because it was a
- 0:58Speaker 1: broadcast thing, but it was really good. I mean, I
- 1:02Speaker 1: if you like musicals and you haven't watched that listeners,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I encourage you to check it out because it was fuego.
- 1:10Speaker 6: And was.

- 1:29Speaker 3: I do like her music, and I like the story.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I do like the story behind that song too. I'm
- 1:35Speaker 3: not gonna write you a love song. I like the
- 1:37Speaker 3: story behind that too, where the Labis read a love song, right,
- 1:40Speaker 3: and she.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Was She's like, I don't want to write a love song.
- 1:44Speaker 1: So she wrote that song and it became her biggest
- 1:46Speaker 1: song ever.
- 1:46Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:47Speaker 1: But she wrote this the musical Waitress, which is just
- 1:50Speaker 1: incredible and uh and man, she's just so talented. I
- 1:54Speaker 1: love her music. I love her music.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Did you ever see the movie Waitress?

- 1:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Carrie Russell, Carrie Russell, and yeah, you know that
- 2:03Speaker 1: song I Choose You by Cyber Ellis. It's a really
- 2:09Speaker 1: good song.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I don't know that one.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I'm not going to sing it for you.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I don't know season two, yo, But check this out, dude.
- 2:16Speaker 5: A lot of things happen in between season one and
- 2:18Speaker 5: season two.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So many things happened.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Speaking of musicals, do you remember the season two musical
- 2:24Speaker 3: we had to do for the NBC Upfronts was Yes.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Yes, so tell everyone that story. We were a big hit,
- 2:32Speaker 1: by the way, I just read. By the way that
- 2:34Speaker 1: season two I read this on Scrubs Wiki was our
- 2:38Speaker 1: biggest rating season?
- 2:41Speaker 5: Was this after we followed Friends? Though I don't know,
- 2:45Speaker 5: but maybe yes.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Scrubs originally aired season two between September two thousand and
- 2:49Speaker 1: two and April two thousand and three on NBC. It
- 2:51Speaker 1: averaged fifteen point nine to four million viewers per episode.
- 2:56Speaker 1: That's insuly cow for those of you who don't know.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Nobody be number.
- 3:00Speaker 5: We'd be number one on television, bigger.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Than fucking football now. But we waited against them.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Neither one of us would have got canceled if we
- 3:07Speaker 3: got those numbers.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I know, sixteen million people. You just don't get ratings
- 3:12Speaker 1: like that anymore. And that was our So this was
- 3:14Speaker 1: our most watched season right on.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Well, great, great start to the season too. The episode
- 3:18Speaker 5: is amazing.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Anyway, so yeah, go ahead tell them.
- 3:21Speaker 3: So we find out that we're getting picked up and
- 3:24Speaker 3: we have to go to Upfronts again, and all I
- 3:26Speaker 3: could remember is.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Dude, last year's Upfronts was so amazing.
- 3:30Speaker 3: We'd already spent the summer together, so I don't even
- 3:32Speaker 3: I don't even think we I guess.
- 3:34Speaker 5: We had started shooting.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I don't know, but I remember being like, holy cow,
- 3:39Speaker 3: upfronts again, this is gonna be the best night about it,
- 3:42Speaker 3: so much fun.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We were excited, and they said, hey, good news. They're
- 3:47Speaker 1: gonna do a sort of a musical number and you
- 3:49Speaker 1: guys are going to be the star of it. And
- 3:53Speaker 1: and it was. It ended up being humiliating, right, it
- 3:56Speaker 1: was the song.
- 3:57Speaker 3: You you didn't you did not like it at all,
- 3:59Speaker 3: but the song was you know, the song was from
- 4:02Speaker 3: back in the day.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Just to remind people, just to remind people, this is
- 4:07Speaker 1: like a basically, it's a it's a it's a convention
- 4:10Speaker 1: where where they're gonna sell the show to advertisers. And
- 4:14Speaker 1: we're like the convention entertainment and they've taken the song
- 4:17Speaker 1: Ain't no stopping Us Now and put lyrics about selling
- 4:21Speaker 1: the show to advertisers in right.
- 4:23Speaker 3: No, they no, they put it into they put they
- 4:25Speaker 3: made the lyrics about how we were coming back for
- 4:29Speaker 3: season two.
- 4:30Speaker 5: So instead of it ain't no stopping us now, We're
- 4:34Speaker 5: on the move. It became.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Us.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Now we've been renewed. Yeah, yeah, And then then I
- 4:45Speaker 1: remember this one scrub scrubrub ain't gonna get scrubbed.
- 4:50Speaker 5: We got to see it too, Scrub.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Someone wrote the genius lyrics scrubs ain't gonna get scrubbed.
- 4:59Speaker 1: We've been renewed. No, we got to see the two, Okay,
- 5:03Speaker 1: And then do you remember any more of the lyrics?
- 5:04Speaker 3: That's all I remember, But I remember we all had
- 5:06Speaker 3: a verse and something. Some of it was like Scott
- 5:09Speaker 3: Sassa was no fras, like.
- 5:12Speaker 1: So he Scott Sassa, who was the who was the
- 5:14Speaker 1: president or something at the time. He's like, Scott Sassa
- 5:16Speaker 1: is so sassy or something like.
- 5:18Speaker 5: That, something like that, something crazy. But it was like
- 5:20Speaker 5: a Vega.
- 5:20Speaker 1: It was like a fucking Vegas number. It was humiliating.
- 5:23Speaker 3: We came out on we came out on Gurney's and
- 5:25Speaker 3: they pushed us out on Gurney's.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And there were dancers all around us. It was like
- 5:29Speaker 1: it was like a like a convention Vegas number.
- 5:32Speaker 5: And we had dance moves and everything.
- 5:34Speaker 1: We had to rehearse a lot.
- 5:36Speaker 3: And remember we did it in front of Meghan u
- 5:38Speaker 3: Megan Malali and uh le Jay Leno showed up in
- 5:42Speaker 3: the middle of I.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Think they had ye And then I remember in rehearsal
- 5:46Speaker 1: we had to It was so humiliating. We had to
- 5:48Speaker 1: like we were like bumping butts like on the side,
- 5:51Speaker 1: like there was like and I remember I had to
- 5:53Speaker 1: bump Johnny Seas butt and I want I bumped him
- 5:56Speaker 1: two hard ones and he got really mad at me
- 5:58Speaker 1: that I that I I hit his butt too hard.
- 6:01Speaker 5: Maybe Johnny got a bad hip and never told us no.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I think I just was. I think that there was
- 6:05Speaker 1: supposed to be a gentle hip bump, and I just
- 6:08Speaker 1: I went too hard. And I remember Johnny giving me
- 6:11Speaker 1: a look like bumping my hip like that again, and
- 6:13Speaker 1: I'll fucking kill you.
- 6:15Speaker 5: You took it too hard.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Come big gets gone, dude. I wonder if there's video.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm sure there is.
- 6:24Speaker 5: I'm sure there is video of that.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I'm sure if you look it up some well, now
- 6:28Speaker 3: you know what, somebody somewhere has that on video. And
- 6:32Speaker 3: I remember when I was a kid and I would
- 6:34Speaker 3: do stuff like that. I would try to get that
- 6:37Speaker 3: video so I could put it on my reel when
- 6:40Speaker 3: I was auditioning for things like yo I was also
- 6:43Speaker 3: in the NBC Upfronts.
- 6:46Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Did you ever do that?
- 6:48Speaker 5: Did you ever have a reel before?
- 6:50Speaker 1: Yeah, back in the day, you had to have a
- 6:53Speaker 1: reel and when I suppose actors do these days as well.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But now I guess with the Internet, everyone one you
- 7:00Speaker 1: can just you can look on YouTube or Vimeo for
- 7:03Speaker 1: people's reels. But at the time, we had to like
- 7:05Speaker 1: video assemble a on videotape a reel of your work.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And you have to like literally record it from the television.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Could you know what I mean, at least at.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Least at least a video camera on the TV.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Well, no, no, no, if you do, you have to
- 7:21Speaker 3: literally tape it off the television and then edit it together.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I remember doing all.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Because you could never get your ship from like no
- 7:28Speaker 1: one was gonna send it to you.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Yeah, the studio wouldn't send it to you for you.
- 7:30Speaker 1: So our ring tone is live. Finally, everybody, you can
- 7:34Speaker 1: finally get the song live. There's been a little controversy
- 7:39Speaker 1: with the missing m Come on. Dan has sent them
- 7:44Speaker 1: the updated version, but a lot of people have said,
- 7:47Speaker 1: where's we updated it. Dan just sent me a text
- 7:50Speaker 1: that's saying he sent the updated Are you allowed to
- 7:52Speaker 1: update ringtones? Dan A, sorry, it's not even the this time.
- 8:00Speaker 1: I just had it off.
- 8:01Speaker 6: Yeah, you can update the ringtone if you want to,
- 8:03Speaker 6: and I you know, we'll see if they added as
- 8:05Speaker 6: another option, whether it's like a second option versus note.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But that version has been seven all right. I just
- 8:10Speaker 1: want everyone to know because there was a lot of
- 8:12Speaker 1: beautiful requests for our theme song to be a ring tone.
- 8:15Speaker 1: It took a while for some reason, but we made
- 8:18Speaker 1: it happen. It's on Android and an Apple and you
- 8:21Speaker 1: can get it by going to our Instagram links. I hope,
- 8:25Speaker 1: I hope Donald you put it up. You did put
- 8:28Speaker 1: the bio just click on the bile or you can
- 8:30Speaker 1: look at my Twitter I put it up there, or
- 8:32Speaker 1: of course you can just google Fake Doctor's Real Friends
- 8:36Speaker 1: theme song ring tone. But we're very excited. But yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 1: in the comments, a lot of people were like why not,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and I was like, fucking Dan, you didn't put them on?
- 8:48Speaker 1: And then why because he's the one who sent them
- 8:51Speaker 1: the fucking file. What do you think the file? Joel?
- 8:54Speaker 1: You did? It's totally meant. I don't want to be
- 8:57Speaker 1: mad at Joelle. I have more fun to be mad
- 8:59Speaker 1: to Dan right here, it's way more fun. I liked
- 9:08Speaker 1: you well too much. I want to be about of
- 9:09Speaker 1: Dan listen. So then I was like reading all the
- 9:13Speaker 1: comments today. First of all, I couldn't get the link right,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and everyone's like, the link doesn't work, and I was like,
- 9:16Speaker 1: Flings is an asshole. Finally I get it right and
- 9:18Speaker 1: people are like, where the fuck is the mm hmm,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and I'm like, fucking.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Daniel, Dan, I'm glad you didn't put them because now
- 9:25Speaker 3: there's two versions out there. There's the original version and
- 9:28Speaker 3: then there's the remix. That's how you that's how you
- 9:32Speaker 3: know it's a remix.
- 9:33Speaker 1: We should have dropped it later, like the remix. But
- 9:36Speaker 1: then I saw people the comments were so funny. People
- 9:38Speaker 1: were like, can we get them separate? Because I want
- 9:41Speaker 1: that to be like my text alert.
- 9:44Speaker 5: Oh wow yo.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah, Daniel, you're gonna have to send him another one?
- 9:50Speaker 5: Yeah, send him another one another one, now, another one.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Another one another one keep dropping the we keep dropping
- 9:59Speaker 1: ring tones another Zach another one another one. Yeah, that's
- 10:04Speaker 1: how we go, that's how we drop our ringtones. Now
- 10:06Speaker 1: there's now there's Bill saying five six seven eight, another one.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Another one. We're gonna do it. That's it, It's done.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Another one.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Now you can be the best, be the best ringtones
- 10:18Speaker 1: we the best ring tones?
- 10:21Speaker 3: Mm yeah, dude, do you remember the summer because I
- 10:27Speaker 3: remember the summer very well.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, after we wrapped, Wait, before we move on, shouldn't
- 10:32Speaker 1: we sing it? Shouldn't you sing us into season two?
- 10:35Speaker 4: Oh?
- 10:35Speaker 5: My bad? Eight?
- 10:37Speaker 1: Well that wasn't very enthusiastic. This is the beginning of
- 10:39Speaker 1: fucking season two. Bro, you know something mine, pretend you're
- 10:42Speaker 1: just get off your angry peloton guy, you know something?
- 10:45Speaker 7: Man?
- 10:46Speaker 8: Five?
- 10:46Speaker 5: Six, seven, eight?
- 10:47Speaker 8: Stories?
- 10:49Speaker 1: I about sure. We made about a bunch of thousand nurses.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Said, he's the stories as everybody's ears are like this
- 11:12Speaker 5: right now? God done.
- 11:14Speaker 1: You're drinking a beer. Huh, just a little beer at
- 11:16Speaker 1: one Listen, man, you drink you drinking some quarantine doing
- 11:22Speaker 1: a little day drinking quarantine stuff.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Well, we're all back in the house, aren't we.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Oh man, we're so fucked in l A.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Here we go.
- 11:28Speaker 1: We're so fucked.
- 11:29Speaker 5: It's worse we go, it's work we go.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We need to live in a bubble. Remember that John
- 11:34Speaker 1: Travoltam thing where he lived in a bubble. Yeah, man,
- 11:36Speaker 1: we need that around our houses.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Yeah, we're back in.
- 11:40Speaker 1: We're so fucked. It's worse than ever.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, and and and everybody was very I
- 11:46Speaker 3: was very optimistic about reopening.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And everything were their masks?
- 11:51Speaker 5: Man, do you think it's the masks?
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:54Speaker 5: You think we just reopened too fast?
- 11:55Speaker 1: You know, Dan, you're so knowledgeable about this ship is.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Here's the thing, though, you shit on them and you
- 12:03Speaker 3: make him feel like shit, and now you're going to
- 12:05Speaker 3: them for the information.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I love him. But when everyone says there's no m hm,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I was like, this fucking guy. Now I know it's Joelle,
- 12:11Speaker 1: and I can't be imagin Joell. I love her too much,
- 12:13Speaker 1: So I'm just lost. I don't know what to do
- 12:15Speaker 1: with myself now. Man, is it a masks? No one's
- 12:21Speaker 1: wearing as it's both.
- 12:23Speaker 8: I mean, look, this is this is a systemic problem.
- 12:27Speaker 8: We are in the middle of dealing with systemic issues
- 12:30Speaker 8: in huge, huge quantities, and unfortunately it's all collapsing at once.
- 12:35Speaker 8: Our economy is such that, like back in two thousand
- 12:38Speaker 8: and eight when the housing crisis happened, we changed rules
- 12:41Speaker 8: so that we couldn't make that mistake anymore. But banks
- 12:44Speaker 8: are just finding other ways to pick up debt from
- 12:47Speaker 8: other things, and instead of mortgages, this time it's businesses.
- 12:50Speaker 8: And they're like, surely this won't go bad, because a
- 12:53Speaker 8: shit ton of businesses won't go out of business all
- 12:55Speaker 8: at once. And now here we are, so the economy
- 12:58Speaker 8: is crashing at the exact same time this COVID thing
- 13:01Speaker 8: is happening. So people are like, we need to reopen
- 13:03Speaker 8: the economy so that we don't go into absolute critical
- 13:06Speaker 8: red mode. And by doing that, we had an incredible
- 13:09Speaker 8: spike in cases because people were like, we need to
- 13:12Speaker 8: ope the economy, we need to get bars up, we
- 13:13Speaker 8: need to get blah blah blah bah blah open, and
- 13:15Speaker 8: people were so hungry just to get back out there
- 13:17Speaker 8: again with no masks and none of the proper equipment
- 13:20Speaker 8: and no proper social distancing. And so we are paying
- 13:23Speaker 8: the price, I mean, we are paying the price for
- 13:24Speaker 8: so many years.
- 13:25Speaker 6: Of not paying attention to what super rich people have
- 13:27Speaker 6: been doing to this country, and unfortunately it's all unfolding once.
- 13:31Speaker 5: That's truly unfortunate.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Wow, well well said, you well said, And it's very upsetting.
- 13:37Speaker 1: But we're here to cheer people up, so we should
- 13:39Speaker 1: change the subject, right, Donald.
- 13:40Speaker 5: Absolutely, do you want to five six seven eight it again?
- 13:43Speaker 1: No, but I kind of want to just do a
- 13:44Speaker 1: quick I just kind of want to sadly say it
- 13:46Speaker 1: five six seven eight Okay.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Oh my gosh.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Anyway, this summer between season one and season two, Donald
- 13:59Speaker 1: and I live together. We've told you this before, but
- 14:01Speaker 1: we lived together in a loft in Soho, Manhattan.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Yes, where are our neighbor was our neighbor, Amy Tan,
- 14:10Speaker 3: Amy Tan.
- 14:11Speaker 1: And she really didn't like all the ruckus we were making,
- 14:13Speaker 1: which I understand. You live in a very expensive loft
- 14:15Speaker 1: and two fucking yoyo heads rent above you. Anyway, we
- 14:20Speaker 1: were fun as hell, right, We were a good times
- 14:22Speaker 1: in New York. Donald was making a movie called What Donald.
- 14:25Speaker 5: I was making Uptown Girls?
- 14:29Speaker 1: Uptown Girl. What was the story of Uptown Girls?
- 14:31Speaker 5: For those that Uptown Girls?
- 14:32Speaker 1: Of course most people will know, but those who don't know.
- 14:34Speaker 3: It was a story of a young entitled girl who
- 14:41Speaker 3: lost all of her money and had to become a
- 14:44Speaker 3: nanny to make ends. Meet Brittany Murphy, right, Marley Shelton,
- 14:50Speaker 3: Dakota Fanning, myself, Heather Locklear, nas. This is the first
- 14:57Speaker 3: time I got to me is nas quite a you
- 15:00Speaker 3: other people?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Did you enjoy me?
- 15:02Speaker 3: Directed by bo as Jaquin. I totally enjoyed making the movie.
- 15:06Speaker 3: At this point, I got braces right inside of my mouth,
- 15:10Speaker 3: and I got them right before I started shooting this movie.
- 15:13Speaker 1: So this was your first movie with a lisp.
- 15:16Speaker 5: I don't have a lisp.
- 15:17Speaker 3: But the crazy thing is I don't have And we'll
- 15:20Speaker 3: get to the episode soon. But even in this episode this,
- 15:23Speaker 3: I have the braces on in this episode and I
- 15:25Speaker 3: noticed it, but I'm not sure everybody else could notice it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Well, I remember you coming to set and it sounded
- 15:32Speaker 1: like you had you had a lisp, And I remember
- 15:34Speaker 1: Bild being like, what the fuck are.
- 15:36Speaker 5: You doing with Did you notice it in the show?
- 15:39Speaker 1: I didn't? You did not notice it?
- 15:42Speaker 3: This is a we could go right to Bill right now, Bill,
- 15:44Speaker 3: did you make me come back in and redo? Did
- 15:48Speaker 3: I have to ad r the first episode of the
- 15:51Speaker 3: season because or the first few episodes of the season
- 15:55Speaker 3: because of the braces that I had put on the
- 15:57Speaker 3: inside of my mouth.
- 15:58Speaker 5: After season one of Scrubs, After the summer of Scrubs.
- 16:02Speaker 4: I remember here because Donald came back excited because his teeth,
- 16:07Speaker 4: I mean his teeth did look great. They still look great,
- 16:09Speaker 4: but he was like.
- 16:11Speaker 1: So the cool thing.
- 16:13Speaker 4: You can't even see the breakers And because he had
- 16:16Speaker 4: like big honk embraces that were behind his teeth so
- 16:19Speaker 4: they wouldn't show on camera, but it made him sound
- 16:22Speaker 4: like Sylvester the cartoon cat. And there was definitely some
- 16:26Speaker 4: loop in there. But hey, the results are great, Faisan,
- 16:30Speaker 4: I love him, I love you guys.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Bill. I don't remember, but I do
- 16:35Speaker 1: remember that I remember laughing at you, being like, what
- 16:38Speaker 1: the hell were you thinking? Because they were on the
- 16:39Speaker 1: inside of your teeth and you seem to have changed.
- 16:42Speaker 1: You were like, you seem to have a speak a
- 16:44Speaker 1: speech impediment all of a sudden.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Well, yeah, well, what were you in New York for?
- 16:49Speaker 1: I was doing a production of twelfth Night at the
- 16:54Speaker 1: delacord Theater.
- 16:55Speaker 5: What's the Twelfth Night about?
- 16:57Speaker 1: I'm not going to summarize twelth Night, Eavy, but if
- 17:02Speaker 1: you ever get a chance when the world's back open,
- 17:04Speaker 1: dear listeners, you want to go to the Delacorte Theater
- 17:07Speaker 1: in Central Park in the summer. It's a beautiful open
- 17:10Speaker 1: air amphitheater where they do free Shakespeare and you can
- 17:16Speaker 1: google how to do it. You get in line early
- 17:18Speaker 1: in the morning and you sort of have a picnic
- 17:19Speaker 1: and you and you can hang out with your friends
- 17:21Speaker 1: and and if you're in line early enough, you get
- 17:23Speaker 1: these free tickets. And they have great actors that come
- 17:27Speaker 1: and do the plays, and I mean much bigger stars
- 17:31Speaker 1: than me. I mean Meryl Streep and Natalie Portman and
- 17:33Speaker 1: all these super fancy people have performed there and uh
- 17:37Speaker 1: and they and they do really really cool productions. Mine
- 17:40Speaker 1: had Jimmy Smith's and Christopher Lloyd and Kristin Johnston and
- 17:48Speaker 1: Julia Stiles and actually David Harbor. Interestingly enough, Oliver Oliver Platt,
- 17:55Speaker 1: Oliver Platt Sterling Brown was originally in the show with me,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and then he broke his leg and the part was
- 18:04Speaker 1: taken over by David Harboro. So there's the level of
- 18:08Speaker 1: actors that are rolling through the Delacorte and and by
- 18:11Speaker 1: the way, so then when it rains, you can't do
- 18:14Speaker 1: the show obviously, and it rains a lot in the
- 18:15Speaker 1: summer in Manhattan, and so you kind of are like
- 18:18Speaker 1: it's like a like in sports playing when when they
- 18:20Speaker 1: take a break right.
- 18:22Speaker 5: In baseball halftime halftime, No, when when.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It rains in baseball, they pull out the big rain delay.
- 18:29Speaker 1: They pull out the big tarps. That's always fun. That
- 18:32Speaker 1: was my favorite part of going to the baseball game.
- 18:34Speaker 1: You'd see all the guys roll out the tarps.
- 18:39Speaker 5: So not the game.
- 18:40Speaker 3: No, in a game you were like, please please make
- 18:44Speaker 3: it rain, so I could see the guys rolling.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I just thought the game to me was boring. But
- 18:49Speaker 1: when all the men came out and did a choreographed
- 18:52Speaker 1: in unison like tarp release, I thought that was beautiful.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I also like it. I also like it in the
- 19:02Speaker 1: what is it the seventh inning when they when they
- 19:04Speaker 1: clean up the dirt, you know when they do like
- 19:07Speaker 1: the like they run, Yeah, you know they're in the
- 19:10Speaker 1: seventh thing starch when they jog and they have their
- 19:11Speaker 1: little screens they pull and they make the dirt.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Look pretty Oh my gosh.
- 19:15Speaker 1: I like that part too. Anyway, So this is my story.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So I had written Garden State and I was trying
- 19:22Speaker 1: to get it made, and I knew that Natalie Portman
- 19:24Speaker 1: had done a play. I believe she had done the
- 19:26Speaker 1: seagull in at the Dela Courte in Central Park, and
- 19:30Speaker 1: I thought, oh, here's a good angle for my letter
- 19:32Speaker 1: to her as it was raining outside, and I believe
- 19:35Speaker 1: I was in the same dressing room that she had
- 19:37Speaker 1: been in, and I wrote her a letter saying, dear Natalie,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I'm writing to you from dressing room whatever be at
- 19:44Speaker 1: the Delacorte Theater, which I believe was yours during Seagull,
- 19:47Speaker 1: and I want to talk to you about this movie.
- 19:49Speaker 1: So that was sort of my inn and I wrote
- 19:51Speaker 1: her this personal note and which led to her saying,
- 19:55Speaker 1: I love the script. Let's have lunch and uh, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: then we were off to the races. But it all
- 19:59Speaker 1: began there at the del Court Theater in Central Park.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Dude, I remember that letter, and I remember you reading
- 20:04Speaker 3: the letter to me. I did, Yeah, you did read
- 20:06Speaker 3: the letter to me. And first of all, it wasn't
- 20:09Speaker 3: just a letter. You put your heart and soul into this.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Oh you got it. You gotta be, you gotta give
- 20:13Speaker 1: it to lay it all out on the line.
- 20:15Speaker 5: No doubt.
- 20:16Speaker 3: But this wasn't like like I feel like, there were
- 20:18Speaker 3: so many versions of this letter, you know what I mean,
- 20:21Speaker 3: and you read me like one of the final versions.
- 20:24Speaker 3: And I don't want to get too far into detail,
- 20:26Speaker 3: because it really is a message between you and her,
- 20:28Speaker 3: but it was well tied together. You were like, it
- 20:31Speaker 3: just started raining in the beginning of the letter, and
- 20:34Speaker 3: at the end of the letter you were like, they're
- 20:36Speaker 3: gonna call me soon. The rain is just stopped.
- 20:41Speaker 4: Dude.
- 20:41Speaker 5: It was so writing it was a letter.
- 20:44Speaker 1: You recounting my writing to me gave me goosebumps. I
- 20:49Speaker 1: I always write. In fact, I'm gonna write one today
- 20:51Speaker 1: to an actress. You know, as you know during Quarantine,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I've been writing this new screenplay and I'm very excited
- 20:57Speaker 1: about it, and it's time for me to write one
- 20:59Speaker 1: of those letters again. You know, for those of you
- 21:01Speaker 1: not in the business, when you're when you're reaching out
- 21:03Speaker 1: to a star that you might you might know them
- 21:05Speaker 1: as an acquaintance, but you might not know them at all.
- 21:08Speaker 1: You might and then you chatted with their agent and
- 21:10Speaker 1: there and the agent might love it and they say, okay,
- 21:12Speaker 1: well before I give it to her, you want to
- 21:13Speaker 1: say something to her or him, and uh and you
- 21:16Speaker 1: write a note and it's sort of like an impassioned
- 21:19Speaker 1: plea to to really consider it. And uh so I'm
- 21:22Speaker 1: writing one of those after this, after this.
- 21:24Speaker 5: That's great, dude.
- 21:25Speaker 1: You know we're starting right now, dear Donald, what oh fuck?
- 21:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I want to say I've never received one of
- 21:31Speaker 5: those notes. I'm really looking.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Forward you never have. I'm sure you've probably gotten an email,
- 21:36Speaker 1: maybe like I like to do it, like like old school,
- 21:38Speaker 1: like handwritten. But I'm sure maybe you've gotten an email like,
- 21:40Speaker 1: dear Donald, we love you for this, please consider it.
- 21:43Speaker 4: What?
- 21:43Speaker 1: Uh?
- 21:44Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, yes, yes, but not a freaking handwritten
- 21:49Speaker 3: Zach Braff note to star in a movie.
- 21:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm gonna write you one. I'm looking forward to
- 21:54Speaker 5: it this time. I'm gonna write you one for this
- 21:56Speaker 5: look forward to it.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I've even done, you know, because I collect some old school,
- 21:59Speaker 1: old school typewriter is, like really old ones, and I've
- 22:01Speaker 1: even done like I've even typed them out on my
- 22:04Speaker 1: old fucked up typewriter because that that kind of looks cool.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Let's put it this.
- 22:08Speaker 1: That might be one step too far, I think. No,
- 22:10Speaker 1: with this particular actress, I might go handwritten.
- 22:12Speaker 5: It's well, that's fine too, but it's not too far.
- 22:15Speaker 5: This is what I think.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Look if I had from nineteen seventy something envelope with
- 22:24Speaker 3: a letter in it from Spielberg asking me to be
- 22:28Speaker 3: in Jaws, go on I would freaking lose my shit,
- 22:32Speaker 3: and I would I would have and I still had it.
- 22:34Speaker 5: It would be worth so much to me. It's priceless.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I have a letter from Spielberg. You know that.
- 22:40Speaker 5: That's why I'm bringing this up. I'm trying saying to you.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Do you I'm.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Trying to segue into this thing. So you have a
- 22:46Speaker 5: letter from Spielberg? Really?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Oh good segue? Donald, Yeah, I have a letter from Spielberg.
- 22:52Speaker 1: After Garden State. He wrote me a personal note saying
- 22:56Speaker 1: how much he loved it. And it said something incredible
- 22:59Speaker 1: like on behalf of so many, I want to welcome
- 23:01Speaker 1: you to the world of being a filmmaker or something
- 23:03Speaker 1: like that. I mean, I'm acting like I don't have
- 23:06Speaker 1: it memorized and I framed it. It's up in my
- 23:09Speaker 1: house because I cherish.
- 23:11Speaker 5: It, right, That's what I'm trying to say. Was it
- 23:13Speaker 5: on typewriter?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I don't think he typed it. It was like it was.
- 23:17Speaker 1: It's a typewritten letter. It's a physical letter, and I
- 23:20Speaker 1: don't think he sat there and typed it.
- 23:22Speaker 5: You don't know that.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I don't know that that's true. I guess in my
- 23:25Speaker 1: head I always assumed he dictated it to somebody.
- 23:28Speaker 3: This is what happened after Season one of Scrubs. Life
- 23:32Speaker 3: became My point is, life became different.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Life became different. Way to wrap it all around, Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 3: It, but it really did, you know what I mean?
- 23:39Speaker 3: Like I went away and I did a movie that
- 23:41Speaker 3: I didn't have to audition for.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 23:44Speaker 5: I got to be in a.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Movie with a bunch of really phenomenal actresses and actors
- 23:50Speaker 3: and a great director.
- 23:52Speaker 5: And life had changed for us at this point.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we were feeling ourselves. I was weepping around the
- 23:56Speaker 1: city to Michelle branches everywhere.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Man, I just listened to that on my workout today
- 24:01Speaker 1: on the treadmill. It really is a good workout song,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know everyway to me. When I closed my eyes,
- 24:08Speaker 1: it's you I see ahead, and then there's not after
- 24:13Speaker 1: I'm not alone, And then there's the one after it
- 24:16Speaker 1: all you wanted. That's another good one. If you want to,
- 24:20Speaker 1: I can take you away from here. I'm telling you guys,
- 24:24Speaker 1: listen to that jam.
- 24:25Speaker 3: If you likes so lonely inside the good out there?
- 24:31Speaker 1: Yeah, and I know you want it so I when
- 24:33Speaker 1: I hear these songs, I think of this summer because
- 24:35Speaker 1: it was hot as fucking balls in Manhattan, and I
- 24:38Speaker 1: remember I had my walk my walkman on that you
- 24:40Speaker 1: that my yellow Walkman that you told everybody about. And
- 24:43Speaker 1: I just remember like bopping around the city to Michelle
- 24:46Speaker 1: Branch because that was the summer. Those songs came out
- 24:48Speaker 1: and I was like, this song is fire.
- 24:50Speaker 3: It might even been the summer before that, but it's
- 24:52Speaker 3: all good, dude. Don't nobody's gonna nobody's trip about it.
- 24:55Speaker 1: No. I remember it was like one of those you know,
- 24:57Speaker 1: like when the summer comes out, there's always like those
- 24:59Speaker 1: big pops you're gonna hear nine thousand times.
- 25:02Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure you re late to the pop jam
- 25:04Speaker 5: of Everywhere.
- 25:05Speaker 1: No Way, no way, Joel, Please look that up. What
- 25:08Speaker 1: year did Everywhere come out? Wait a second, I don't
- 25:10Speaker 1: want you saying I wasn't on the current jam, because
- 25:13Speaker 1: I know what the current kids are listening to.
- 25:15Speaker 5: Okay, you know what they're listening to. Now what are
- 25:17Speaker 5: they listening to?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Now? I have no idea what I put on Hits
- 25:21Speaker 1: one two thousand and.
- 25:23Speaker 5: One, Donald we air two thousand and one.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Right, And this was the fucking summer of two thousand.
- 25:30Speaker 5: And two, what month?
- 25:31Speaker 9: What?
- 25:31Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 25:31Speaker 1: Thank you? Well, it was the first summer that the
- 25:34Speaker 1: song was available to bop to whatever, dude, whatever, dude,
- 25:38Speaker 1: break you away from Mere, take me away, Michelle Branch.
- 25:42Speaker 5: Let's take a break.
- 25:43Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words.
- 25:48Speaker 3: So look, my point is this, though, when we come
- 25:55Speaker 3: into this episode and we do the recap and everything
- 25:58Speaker 3: like that, and.
- 25:58Speaker 5: We're now it.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I laughed so much at this episode. I thought
- 26:02Speaker 3: it was a lot of very funny, very funny moment.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Well, we were feeling ourselves at though. We had we
- 26:07Speaker 1: had a pep in our step. We were a bit
- 26:09Speaker 1: of a hit show, and we had had an epic
- 26:12Speaker 1: summer and now it's time for to get back into it.
- 26:16Speaker 1: And you had you know, did you have a mustache?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Season one?
- 26:21Speaker 5: I don't think I did.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Know.
- 26:22Speaker 5: I'm not sure if I did. It wasn't that as
- 26:24Speaker 5: thick as it is.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And I didn't see your mole. Your mole is out
- 26:27Speaker 1: in this episode, and I don't remember it shining so
- 26:29Speaker 1: brightly in other episodes. Really did the mole grow?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well?
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it used to be like a little tiny dot
- 26:37Speaker 3: when I was a kid, and then as a grown man,
- 26:39Speaker 3: it's become this monstrous thing that grows hair.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, we've talked about that, and you have to
- 26:44Speaker 1: shave the mole.
- 26:46Speaker 3: The hair is a little bit thicker that come. You
- 26:48Speaker 3: know what I mean, It's a little tighter.
- 26:50Speaker 1: And shave that mole now, listen. I I thought this
- 26:54Speaker 1: episode was very funny.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I laughed so many times, and a lot of it
- 26:58Speaker 3: is inside jokes too. Though, what do you mean it? Well,
- 27:03Speaker 3: we can get into it. Let's do it, Okay. I
- 27:06Speaker 3: laughed at leaky oh ring.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Leaky O ring.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's an inside joke, dude, that's something that we
- 27:12Speaker 3: would that went on forever after this, and I didn't
- 27:15Speaker 3: realize it came from the janitor.
- 27:17Speaker 5: We were saying, we've been saying.
- 27:18Speaker 3: I've been saying leaky oh ring because I thought it
- 27:20Speaker 3: was something I knew it was something that I heard
- 27:22Speaker 3: on scrubs.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I didn't know that it was at that moment.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Right, Well, I always saw maybe I think I heard
- 27:27Speaker 1: it from this and then you and I used it
- 27:29Speaker 1: to describe like if you if you're if you're shake
- 27:32Speaker 1: shake shaking, no matter how many times you shake shake shaking,
- 27:34Speaker 1: you still get a little dribble. You got a leaky
- 27:36Speaker 1: oh ring, you.
- 27:37Speaker 5: Got a leaky O ring, but it came from this dude.
- 27:43Speaker 1: I promise my girlfriend's mom i'd limit the WILLI talk.
- 27:46Speaker 1: But there's some really talk in this episode.
- 27:47Speaker 5: There's a lot of Willly talking.
- 27:49Speaker 1: This when he's when he sprayed me with the when
- 27:51Speaker 1: the thing for the first time, and I sort of
- 27:53Speaker 1: push out you can kind of see my way.
- 27:56Speaker 5: Oh gosh, oh gosh.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Well, well, yeah, no, I'm series. I wrote it down.
- 28:02Speaker 1: It's not that bad.
- 28:03Speaker 5: But you're talking about your bulge.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I have a little bulge. Yeah, I wish it was
- 28:09Speaker 1: wish it was where you but.
- 28:10Speaker 3: We were when you saw that when you like, yeah,
- 28:13Speaker 3: popping throw At.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Four thirty eight, I wrote, you can see my peep lump. Well,
- 28:26Speaker 1: Jeelle is just slowly shaking her head with her eyes closed. Well,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I mean, listen, not compared to Rob who fucking ismick?
- 28:36Speaker 5: Right, that's okay, right, let's start from the beginning, all right.
- 28:39Speaker 1: But I just want to say Rob, Rob has This
- 28:42Speaker 1: is the first time we ever see Rob and his
- 28:44Speaker 1: banana hammock a Todd the Todd and it's you know,
- 28:49Speaker 1: I don't think it's appropriate for primetime TV. In fact,
- 28:52Speaker 1: neither did ABC because when the show moved from NBC
- 28:55Speaker 1: to ABC, which is a Disney owned company, they forbid
- 28:59Speaker 1: us to shoot like that from from the waist down. Yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 1: and they thought it was too inappropriate because he's you know,
- 29:06Speaker 1: he's got a big ass package and it's it's like
- 29:08Speaker 1: covered in fire. The banana hammock has fire all over it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: He's got a big pop lump.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Dude, his peoplump is huge.
- 29:18Speaker 1: His people ump is huge. I wonder if Rob, you know,
- 29:21Speaker 1: maybe season two we should start and ask Rob a chapter.
- 29:25Speaker 5: Let's do it.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Okay, let's do it, because everyone's been asking we're gonna
- 29:28Speaker 1: have Rob on the show. Uh. But I think it'd
- 29:33Speaker 1: be funny since he's such a fan favorite if we
- 29:35Speaker 1: occasionally do an ask ask us, ask the Todd, Ask
- 29:38Speaker 1: the Todd.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Ask the Todd a.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Character.
- 29:44Speaker 1: We don't want to ask him in character. We want
- 29:46Speaker 1: to ask Rob.
- 29:46Speaker 5: Mashia, what are you trying to ask Rob right now?
- 29:49Speaker 1: Dude? I want to ask him if he filled his
- 29:51Speaker 1: people lump in the banana hammock.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Are you sure you want to ask Rob?
- 29:57Speaker 2: Well?
- 29:57Speaker 1: Don't. I think the fans probably want an honest answer
- 30:00Speaker 1: this if that was filled out or not?
- 30:02Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Okay, what are you editing?
- 30:05Speaker 5: No, I'm not.
- 30:06Speaker 1: We don't have to do this. I just thought it
- 30:07Speaker 1: might be a good way to start the ask Rob
- 30:09Speaker 1: chop throughout season two.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Okay, so go ahead and ask him.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Let's just see how it turns out. Okay, how could
- 30:15Speaker 1: this go wrong?
- 30:16Speaker 5: You go go ahead and ask him. Rob.
- 30:19Speaker 1: You know, this is the first time we see your package,
- 30:21Speaker 1: and the fans all want to know, or at least
- 30:24Speaker 1: I want to know. Were you augmenting your situation in
- 30:28Speaker 1: any way? Because your pea lump is very large? Guys,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I admit it.
- 30:34Speaker 9: I thought long and hard about augmenting it, maybe slip
- 30:37Speaker 9: on the weight, grip from a dumbbell or whatnot. But
- 30:40Speaker 9: in the end I just went on that to Ral.
- 30:43Speaker 9: I mean, there's no stuffing in that loaf. Come on,
- 30:46Speaker 9: we just picked the right banana hammock one that kind
- 30:48Speaker 9: of makes everything stand at attention, if you will. It's
- 30:51Speaker 9: what I also like to refer to as the package enhancer.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Hey, now, thank you, Rob.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Right, I've got pictures yeah, okay, of Judy, of Alma,
- 31:03Speaker 3: all of these people. Rob has posted them on his
- 31:05Speaker 3: Instagram account. Checking out his meat, his meat lump.
- 31:11Speaker 1: It's not meat lump, it's peep lump.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Meat lump sounds funny to me.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I don't want to hear that. That's fucking nasty. They
- 31:20Speaker 1: start from the beginning, good morning, Tiger.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Right, good morning, even before even before the good morning,
- 31:31Speaker 3: the twitch before we go into the recap. So you're
- 31:35Speaker 3: lying in bed and you do a little twitch right
- 31:38Speaker 3: before we go into Uh, Jordan, I laughed my ass off.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Pull it up. What's funny about the twitch? I got this.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I got it up on the screen.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Here because you were you were having a nightmare, dude,
- 31:50Speaker 3: and I laughed so hard.
- 31:51Speaker 1: But listen, this was us. The funny thing is that,
- 31:53Speaker 1: like people will be watching this because we're in bed
- 31:55Speaker 1: together because you've been kicked out of the room by
- 31:57Speaker 1: Carla like this, And the funny thing is all this
- 31:59Speaker 1: story just told you about like living together. This was like,
- 32:02Speaker 1: this was us during the summer, like literally in bed
- 32:05Speaker 1: and our boxes being like last night was crazy.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Can you believe it? You skinned the goat?
- 32:12Speaker 1: I know last night was crazy. I think I think
- 32:15Speaker 1: you slept on the ping pong table. Amy Tanner is
- 32:21Speaker 1: mad at us again.
- 32:24Speaker 5: It was a great It was a great summer.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Anyway, if you want to picture what what our summer
- 32:28Speaker 1: was like, it's a lot like this Donald and I
- 32:30Speaker 1: in Boxers talking about our nights.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I love how j D and Turk are like at
- 32:35Speaker 3: sleep away Camp, are having a sleepover in JD's room
- 32:38Speaker 3: in the beginning of it, throughout the show and.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Then you go, you go, I thought we were gonna
- 32:42Speaker 1: do head to foot No, I said, thought we're gonna
- 32:46Speaker 1: be head to the foot alignment. And then you go,
- 32:48Speaker 1: what's the difference? And I go, with the head to
- 32:50Speaker 1: foot alignment. There's no way for them to lock in.
- 32:56Speaker 5: You can't dock, you can't talk, Doc, Yes, I.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Think you can still talk. But that's a story for
- 33:02Speaker 1: another day. How about Rowdy humping my leg? That is
- 33:05Speaker 1: like a classic moment in Scrubs history.
- 33:07Speaker 5: Absolutely, and you go, yeah, ra hit that. Yeah, dude,
- 33:11Speaker 5: that is a classic moment. That's a meme. Dude, that
- 33:14Speaker 5: that shows up all the time.
- 33:16Speaker 1: That's a meme. It's a gift. It's all the things
- 33:18Speaker 1: the kids love. I thought that was very funny. I
- 33:22Speaker 1: don't know if that was in the script or not.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Was that in the script?
- 33:25Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know, I don't I would.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Be honored if I'm the one who improve the taxidermy
- 33:29Speaker 1: dog humping my leg.
- 33:30Speaker 3: That's pretty funny, yeah, roudy, No, No, he's just gonna
- 33:36Speaker 3: abuse it, you know what.
- 33:38Speaker 5: Yeah, you know what. Let's go to Bill and ask him.
- 33:40Speaker 1: No, no, you can't ask Bill things like did zach improv this?
- 33:44Speaker 1: Because he's gonna be like no, that was my genius
- 33:46Speaker 1: idea five six, seven, eight. Fucking guy.
- 33:53Speaker 5: I just love having him on the show many so.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That episode was very funny with him in Christa. I
- 34:00Speaker 1: listened to it back and I was laughing out loud
- 34:02Speaker 1: a lot of it.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Yes, so was I.
- 34:04Speaker 1: They're funny people.
- 34:07Speaker 5: You Luke Skywalker. No, at the you did the Luke Skywalker?
- 34:10Speaker 1: No, dude, what are you talking about?
- 34:12Speaker 3: When Jordan's about to tell Cox that you guys slept together,
- 34:16Speaker 3: you give a little Luke Skywalker no in your sleep?
- 34:18Speaker 3: What do I do you remember when Darth Vader standing
- 34:21Speaker 3: in front of Luke Skywalker after he chopped his hand
- 34:24Speaker 3: off at cloud City over the Planet best Spin?
- 34:27Speaker 1: No you don't remember, well, said Joe Welles, once again,
- 34:31Speaker 1: sitting there nodding, being like Preacher.
- 34:33Speaker 3: And he says and he says to and he says
- 34:35Speaker 3: to Luke Skywalker, if only you knew the power of
- 34:39Speaker 3: the dark side, Obi wand never told you what happened
- 34:42Speaker 3: to your father.
- 34:43Speaker 5: And then Luke says, he told me enough. You killed him.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Dan's lip singing along.
- 34:49Speaker 3: And then Vader says to him, no, I am your father,
- 34:55Speaker 3: and then Luke goes, no, that's not true.
- 34:59Speaker 5: That's impot search your feelings, Luke, you know it to
- 35:03Speaker 5: be true. And he did exactly what you did.
- 35:06Speaker 1: No, Oh my god, good performance style.
- 35:14Speaker 5: It's one of the best moments in cinema.
- 35:16Speaker 3: I defy anyone on this planet when that movie first
- 35:21Speaker 3: came out.
- 35:22Speaker 5: If you are still alive and you.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Went and saw that movie in the theaters, when Vader
- 35:28Speaker 3: reveals himself to Luke Skywalker to be Anakin Skywalker, no
- 35:33Speaker 3: one saw that shit coming and every it blew everybody's
- 35:36Speaker 3: fucking mind. And to this day, I don't care who
- 35:39Speaker 3: you are. That's one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever.
- 35:43Speaker 3: And you can argue and fight and say no, it's not.
- 35:46Speaker 3: It's one of the best moments in cinema history.
- 35:49Speaker 1: I'm not arguing with you.
- 35:51Speaker 5: Period.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Oh he paused for the period. Now, Colin, hey, we
- 35:56Speaker 1: haven't spoken about Colin Hay For those of you who
- 35:58Speaker 1: don't know, Colin Hay was the lead singer of a
- 36:00Speaker 1: very famous, very successful band called Men at Work.
- 36:07Speaker 5: Yeah, and they were.
- 36:08Speaker 1: An Australian band, but Colin Scottish, that part I don't
- 36:12Speaker 1: fully know the history of and their music was incredible.
- 36:17Speaker 1: And so Colin In, as we told you in another episode,
- 36:22Speaker 1: kind of went solo and was playing clubs in La,
- 36:25Speaker 1: singing his own songs, but also singing some of his
- 36:28Speaker 1: biggest Men at Work songs, kind of just acoustically on
- 36:31Speaker 1: a guitar. And that's where Overkill came about. And that's
- 36:34Speaker 1: where Colin came out of the show because we all
- 36:36Speaker 1: loved him right well.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Christa said she told the story last episode, but she
- 36:42Speaker 3: said she found they found each other at one of
- 36:45Speaker 3: the shows at Largo. Yeah, and he agreed to be
- 36:48Speaker 3: on the show, which is amazing.
- 36:49Speaker 1: That song We're so good, it's very good.
- 36:52Speaker 3: First of all, we did a whole Colin It's like
- 36:54Speaker 3: a Colin Hayes slash scrubs music video in the beginning
- 36:57Speaker 3: of a show.
- 36:58Speaker 5: Sh'S at least two minutes long. It's at least two
- 37:01Speaker 5: minutes long.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Now do you notice. So there's a lot of talk
- 37:03Speaker 1: about how you're holding those coffee cups on the street
- 37:05Speaker 1: because there's clearly no coffee in them. You hand me
- 37:08Speaker 1: these two coffee cups and you're holding it like like this,
- 37:12Speaker 1: and you're like here, you know, you just ordered coffee,
- 37:14Speaker 1: and then you hand it to me like this, like
- 37:15Speaker 1: there's clearly no coffee in the coffee. What kind of
- 37:18Speaker 1: fucking coffee holding acting is that?
- 37:20Speaker 3: Oh my god, you hand it sideways for the for
- 37:23Speaker 3: the effect, and so you could see my face if
- 37:26Speaker 3: I hold it straight up, if.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I hold the twenty years later, you won't take responsibility
- 37:31Speaker 1: and say I did shitty acting with those coffee cups.
- 37:36Speaker 5: What are yeah?
- 37:38Speaker 1: R No, you you held them. There's clearly no coffee
- 37:41Speaker 1: in the coffee cup.
- 37:43Speaker 5: That's not true. There was, there was there was some Listen.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Man, listen man, I'm gonna be honest with you. I
- 37:48Speaker 1: want to give a young actors some advice out there.
- 37:50Speaker 1: If you're holding a fake cup.
- 37:53Speaker 5: I didn't go to the Harvard of the Northwest.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I didn't go to the Midwest whatever this is.
- 38:00Speaker 5: I didn't go to the Northwestern.
- 38:03Speaker 1: We call it the Harvard of the Midwest. Listen, I
- 38:05Speaker 1: didn't go there. Well, we didn't have a class in
- 38:07Speaker 1: how to hold a fucking coffee cup. If you're an actor,
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's just obviously you did.
- 38:12Speaker 3: You studied some form of holding things with no weight
- 38:15Speaker 3: and making them feel like they had weight at college.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Listen, I didn't do that.
- 38:19Speaker 5: I'm winging it.
- 38:20Speaker 1: If you're an actor, I'm winging it. And you're holding
- 38:23Speaker 1: a coffee cup, at least put some water in there
- 38:25Speaker 1: so it has some weight to it. Okay, you've learned
- 38:28Speaker 1: a lesson here today. Why is that coffee cart in
- 38:30Speaker 1: the middle of the sidewalk? Did you notice that too?
- 38:32Speaker 1: It's like there's just we're walking down the street and
- 38:33Speaker 1: there's just like a coffee cart.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Because this is back in the day when scrubs wasn't
- 38:37Speaker 3: supposed to be necessarily in California. It was just anywhere America, right,
- 38:41Speaker 3: And if you go down the street in New York
- 38:43Speaker 3: City and you walk down that, you'll find Barista's on
- 38:47Speaker 3: the street. You'll find bagel and donuts and stuff on
- 38:51Speaker 3: the street.
- 38:51Speaker 1: But that's like the traditional New York City street car.
- 38:54Speaker 1: This was like there's a dude who had like a
- 38:55Speaker 1: bar setup. I just thought it was weird production design.
- 38:58Speaker 3: That's all I promised you was because they wanted to
- 39:02Speaker 3: represent street vendors in scrubs. Like, if you were anywhere
- 39:07Speaker 3: in America, Uh, that's that's that's metropolitan or any type
- 39:13Speaker 3: of metro area, you're going to run into street vendors.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Okay, I believe that. I just thought he was placed
- 39:19Speaker 1: oddly at four to eleven. Colin really goes in the
- 39:22Speaker 1: morg drawer, which is a bold move. I want people
- 39:24Speaker 1: to know this isn't a set. So just think how
- 39:26Speaker 1: many corpses have been on that drawer. And Colin was willing,
- 39:30Speaker 1: as part of his contribution to Scrubs to be rolled
- 39:32Speaker 1: in and closed into an actual morg drawer.
- 39:35Speaker 3: With some skins on. He had the underwear, the skins underwear.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah, you had to have something because we would have
- 39:41Speaker 1: seen up his gown.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Right, he doesn't have a gown on in it. He
- 39:45Speaker 3: but no, he's butt naked when he's in the morgue.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Oh you're right. The guitar I think was hiding his giblets.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. But I remember thinking like, ugh,
- 39:55Speaker 1: like anytime we did stuff in that morgue freaked me out.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Because I thought about all the hundreds of not thousands,
- 40:00Speaker 1: no excuse me, the thousands of dead people that had
- 40:03Speaker 1: been in that room. And there we were like acting.
- 40:06Speaker 5: Have you ever had you ever been inside one of
- 40:08Speaker 5: those draws?
- 40:10Speaker 1: I don't remember if in eight seasons, if I ever
- 40:14Speaker 1: was was forced to do that, I really don't. I
- 40:16Speaker 1: think I would have remembered it.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I imagine you would remember that. Yeah, that's one of those
- 40:20Speaker 3: things where it's like, holy cow, the.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Sun just came out, Donald, the sun just came out. Finally,
- 40:25Speaker 1: just having some GT's kobucha.
- 40:27Speaker 5: I love GT's kimbucha. I need another package trilogy?
- 40:30Speaker 1: You ever have?
- 40:31Speaker 5: This one trilogy is one of my favorites trilogy.
- 40:34Speaker 1: It's kind of like it's kind of like it's like
- 40:36Speaker 1: the Rainbow flavor.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I have a question done, Joe, Well, do you guys
- 40:39Speaker 3: get Do you guys get packages from GT's Kombucha?
- 40:43Speaker 2: No, that's for you.
- 40:44Speaker 1: We need to first of all, we need a rider
- 40:48Speaker 1: first of all, and in the rider he's going to
- 40:50Speaker 1: go g KBA for everybody.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Do you guys of course you do need to make this.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I certainly wouldn't. Well, let's pull our limited strings.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Let's let's see what we can do. Let's see what
- 41:03Speaker 3: we can do. Let's see what we can if we
- 41:05Speaker 3: come through. You got to talk about it on the podcast.
- 41:07Speaker 1: You know what's gonna happen is that we're gonna be
- 41:09Speaker 1: embarrassed because they're gonna be like no, and then you
- 41:11Speaker 1: and I are gonna have to go and buy some
- 41:12Speaker 1: shit and just drop it, and we're gonna have to
- 41:16Speaker 1: front like they see, we pulled our strings. We got
- 41:19Speaker 1: it for mean while up no way.
- 41:22Speaker 5: They would never do us like that at GT Kombucha.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Yeah, how about the new title sequence that's not on
- 41:33Speaker 1: very many episodes because people fucking hated it.
- 41:36Speaker 3: I didn't mind it though, it's too That's what That's
- 41:40Speaker 3: what I wrote. I wrote, it's a little long, but
- 41:43Speaker 3: I like the new opening. It's crazy that after one
- 41:45Speaker 3: year of opening I wrote it down. Obviously I'm reading
- 41:50Speaker 3: it to you. It's crazy after one year, we only
- 41:52Speaker 3: had one year of the opening of our show, and
- 41:55Speaker 3: after one year of that opening, people lost their mind.
- 41:58Speaker 3: When the new open they came out and were like, no,
- 42:01Speaker 3: you can't do that. It's like look imagine Family Ties,
- 42:05Speaker 3: which had a new opening every year.
- 42:07Speaker 5: It was the same thing.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Did same song, but different different the same.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Song, different shots, different way of singing it.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Oh wait, no, they didn't change the way of singing it.
- 42:17Speaker 3: I've somehow believed that at one point it got acoustic.
- 42:20Speaker 5: I could be wrong. No, but maybe I'm wrong. But
- 42:24Speaker 5: different shots, a different world. Every year, it seemed like.
- 42:27Speaker 3: There was a new opening for it, the Cosby Show,
- 42:30Speaker 3: The Cosby Show, every year, a different opening for the
- 42:33Speaker 3: Cosby Show. We tried it on Thursday Night, but I
- 42:36Speaker 3: guess we came out at a time when like they
- 42:38Speaker 3: weren't doing that anymore because Friends had the same pretty
- 42:40Speaker 3: much the same.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Even though that was different clips. Also we tried it, and.
- 42:46Speaker 1: The reason was because they wanted to add Neil, because
- 42:49Speaker 1: Neil Neil Flynn, the janitor, had become a regular and
- 42:53Speaker 1: he wasn't in the title sequence. So they and that
- 42:55Speaker 1: took You could see that that took a long time
- 42:58Speaker 1: to shoot, like a full day to shoot the title
- 43:00Speaker 1: sequences because of the effect of it all. And it
- 43:03Speaker 1: came out and just wasn't as good. They had had
- 43:05Speaker 1: to make the song slower. It just didn't work. It
- 43:08Speaker 1: was it wasn't as cool. Yeah, well, I didn't think
- 43:11Speaker 1: the visuals were as cool.
- 43:13Speaker 3: I like the fact of everybody walking past and Neil's
- 43:16Speaker 3: I like Neil just doing janetor work in the middle
- 43:19Speaker 3: of the shot.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Yeah. I watched it and I was so anyway, there's
- 43:23Speaker 1: not that many euplod I think that the fans revolted
- 43:26Speaker 1: enough and said, how dare you? You know, people get
- 43:28Speaker 1: people are very loyal to things Donald.
- 43:30Speaker 5: After one year, though, it wasn't like we've ran.
- 43:32Speaker 3: It wasn't like you changed the Cheers theme, you know
- 43:35Speaker 3: what I mean, Like, imagine changing the Cheers theme after
- 43:38Speaker 3: five seasons.
- 43:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you'd be pretty pissed off.
- 43:40Speaker 1: But slowed it down though it's like making your way
- 43:44Speaker 1: in the world. Today, people were like, fuck that shit.
- 43:48Speaker 5: We were only on for one year.
- 43:49Speaker 1: I didn't know we were popular. We had sixteen million
- 43:52Speaker 1: people watching.
- 43:52Speaker 5: It that I was about to say it shows this imagine.
- 43:55Speaker 1: We tried to change up our very popular theme song
- 43:58Speaker 1: now available as a ring tone.
- 44:00Speaker 5: Will never happen. People don't worry about it. You'll worry
- 44:02Speaker 5: people about it.
- 44:03Speaker 3: I was at one point I was like, yeah, we
- 44:04Speaker 3: should do another version of the theme song, and then
- 44:07Speaker 3: I thought, right then and there.
- 44:09Speaker 5: I remember when we tried to change the scrub same song.
- 44:11Speaker 1: And it didn't work out. But you know what people
- 44:13Speaker 1: want is they want an extended version. They want the
- 44:15Speaker 1: full song that we can sing. You know, they want
- 44:19Speaker 1: to make it into a full song. They want us
- 44:21Speaker 1: to make it into a full song.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Do they want a bridge and a hook? I mean
- 44:24Speaker 5: they want a bridge.
- 44:25Speaker 1: We're gonna need all of it. But I think Charlie's
- 44:27Speaker 1: busy releasing an album, so it might not be good timing.
- 44:30Speaker 3: If he's not releasing an album, he's definitely releasing five
- 44:32Speaker 3: dollars foot long hot dogs.
- 44:34Speaker 1: I know, make that money, Charlie, make that money. Get
- 44:38Speaker 1: that lambo foot long, Get that lambo right?
- 44:44Speaker 5: All right?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Do you see those Nikes I sent you the other night?
- 44:47Speaker 1: Those are nice? Right?
- 44:48Speaker 5: You didn't send them to me. You showed me a
- 44:50Speaker 5: picture of I know those are hot, right, they're dope.
- 44:52Speaker 5: That's a big difference from sending him to me and
- 44:54Speaker 5: showing me a picture.
- 44:55Speaker 1: I'll get you a pair if you like him.
- 44:57Speaker 5: Dude, I do like him. Did you get you got
- 44:58Speaker 5: to hook up at Nike?
- 44:59Speaker 1: No, get a hook up with Travis Scott that's his name, right.
- 45:05Speaker 5: Are you fucking kidding? When you hang out with Travis Scott.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Now, no, I don't know Travis Scott, but I know
- 45:09Speaker 1: someone who's down with Travis Scott.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Okay, let me get this straight. Travis Scott sent you sneakers.
- 45:16Speaker 1: He doesn't he wasn't like and get these to Zach,
- 45:18Speaker 1: but no, he indirectly did.
- 45:20Speaker 5: Yes, this is the pulls I'm talking about.
- 45:24Speaker 3: It's a great thing that you're getting all these kicks
- 45:26Speaker 3: and ship like that, but you're ain't gonna wear them things.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Like I'm gonna wear them.
- 45:29Speaker 1: They're so hot, aren't they.
- 45:31Speaker 3: They're so dope, dude, I'm a little jealous. I'm a
- 45:34Speaker 3: little jealous, just.
- 45:35Speaker 1: A little ju you what they were? They're the cactus something.
- 45:38Speaker 5: They're so fire they are. They're air Max.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Cact is something. There, Fuego. Are you guys googling them?
- 45:44Speaker 1: Dan and Joel, Yes you should there Fuego.
- 45:47Speaker 5: I didn't get those.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I wore him yesterday and hey, hey, Travis, thank you.
- 45:53Speaker 1: I don't think Travis is listening.
- 45:55Speaker 5: Even if he's not, somebody is anyway.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Nipsey Russell played the tin man Donald.
- 46:00Speaker 5: Now, I love the fact that we gave a shout
- 46:01Speaker 5: out to the Wiz.
- 46:02Speaker 1: The Wiz and Nipsey Russell had a catchphrase. Do you
- 46:06Speaker 1: remember what it was?
- 46:09Speaker 5: In the Wiz?
- 46:10Speaker 1: Not in the Wiz because that was a scripted thing,
- 46:12Speaker 1: but whenever he was in things often.
- 46:14Speaker 5: No, he only had it. He only had it in Wildcat.
- 46:17Speaker 1: That's not true. He said it in other things and
- 46:19Speaker 1: it was right right.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Now, if you guys haven't seen the movie Wildcats, it
- 46:28Speaker 1: is a fucking masterpiece, right.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Donald Wesley Snipe's Woody Harrelson, Goldie Horn, YEP movies movies
- 46:35Speaker 3: that I grew up on.
- 46:36Speaker 1: When I was a kid. I loved that movie so much.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Dude, I love that movie so much too. When I
- 46:42Speaker 3: when you introduced me to Goldie Horn, when you made
- 46:45Speaker 3: the movie with Kate and you introduced me to Goldiehorn,
- 46:48Speaker 3: that was a highlight of my life because it's the
- 46:51Speaker 3: sportive kings better than Domin Riggs football.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that was my damn. That was the title sequence,
- 47:01Speaker 1: the credit sequence. They sing a song and the whole
- 47:05Speaker 1: cast sings it and it's got that awesome hook. Someone
- 47:07Speaker 1: should remix that song down.
- 47:08Speaker 3: That's it's the spot of case better than Dvins football.
- 47:15Speaker 3: And she couldn't he couldn't get it right until the end,
- 47:18Speaker 3: and then she finally gets it right football and she
- 47:20Speaker 3: starts singing the harmonies.
- 47:22Speaker 5: I got it football. I love that.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Okay, you all need to go watch Wildcats tonight because
- 47:27Speaker 1: I have a lot of fun memories Wildcats. Anyway, Nipsey
- 47:30Speaker 1: Russell played the team.
- 47:33Speaker 5: What it was like the principal of the school or
- 47:35Speaker 5: something like that.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Right, and he would say his catchphrase, which was right.
- 47:42Speaker 5: I believe it was only that movie that he did
- 47:44Speaker 5: that catch.
- 47:44Speaker 1: I that feels too hard for Joell to google, but
- 47:46Speaker 1: I believe that that was his good that was his
- 47:49Speaker 1: What you're talking about, willis.
- 47:50Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure he didn't do that shit in the Wiz.
- 47:53Speaker 1: What would you google for that? Nipsey Russell? Right? How
- 48:00Speaker 1: about the oh so at eleven oh one, there's this
- 48:02Speaker 1: shot that pops wide to the cars on the road
- 48:05Speaker 1: as they as you know, they're all like frozen. Do
- 48:08Speaker 1: you remember that moment? Yes? Now, I had coincidentally recently
- 48:12Speaker 1: seen car guys on like Twitter and the Internet talking
- 48:15Speaker 1: about this shot because apparently every car in that shot
- 48:19Speaker 1: is like some beloved car that people love. I'm not
- 48:24Speaker 1: talking about like classics like corvettes and shit. I just
- 48:27Speaker 1: mean like if you're a real car nut, these guys
- 48:30Speaker 1: were like, look at the shot from scart and I
- 48:32Speaker 1: imagine is the guy we hired to bring cars out
- 48:34Speaker 1: probably just brought his whole collection to make a block street.
- 48:37Speaker 1: But some guy was like, look at these cars. There's
- 48:39Speaker 1: the d the Super Da Da, there's the VW Do Dada,
- 48:43Speaker 1: And they were like laughing slash. I don't know. They
- 48:46Speaker 1: were enjoying the funny range of amazing cars that car
- 48:50Speaker 1: people love that were making this traffic.
- 48:52Speaker 5: Jym I had no clue that I would never.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Have known, because to me they look like random cars
- 48:57Speaker 1: except for the VW buggets in the foreground. But if
- 48:59Speaker 1: you're a car nut, I encourage you to go to
- 49:02Speaker 1: eleven zero one on this episode and you'll know what
- 49:04Speaker 1: they're talking about.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Did you notice that in the shot after that, when
- 49:09Speaker 3: the camera didn't the camera over where it overshot the
- 49:16Speaker 3: angle and so you can see that there's nothing behind
- 49:20Speaker 3: what's in frame, you know what I mean? Like we
- 49:23Speaker 3: literally cut it off, we angled it up, we angled
- 49:26Speaker 3: it up as far as we could go, and there's
- 49:28Speaker 3: nothing after any of those cars.
- 49:30Speaker 1: I don't think we were allowed to block more than
- 49:32Speaker 1: that section of the street. They let us block that much.
- 49:35Speaker 3: But in the last shot you can see, Holy cow,
- 49:37Speaker 3: there's nothing behind these people.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Well, Riverside Boulevard is, like where we shot, is a
- 49:41Speaker 1: major street, and I think you're not allowed to just
- 49:44Speaker 1: like shut it down for a shot, for like for
- 49:46Speaker 1: that long.
- 49:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's one of the major streets in the valley. Yeah,
- 49:49Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 49:49Speaker 3: There's Ventura, Riverside, Moor Park before you get into the
- 49:54Speaker 3: Deep Valley. This is these these areas would still be considered.
- 50:00Speaker 1: We weren't allowed to shut that down for too long,
- 50:01Speaker 1: I'm sure. So they said, okay, you can have twenty
- 50:03Speaker 1: cars or something. I don't know.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I want to say, Aloma right out the gate. Aloma
- 50:11Speaker 3: crushes it. Here's the thing. There's one thing that we
- 50:15Speaker 3: didn't talk about while we when we started this, and
- 50:17Speaker 3: that's the layoff period.
- 50:19Speaker 5: You and I were very lucky.
- 50:20Speaker 3: We went right into work right after the season was over,
- 50:23Speaker 3: and we both kind of you know, kept our rhythm
- 50:27Speaker 3: going throughout the summer, right throughout the partying and everything
- 50:32Speaker 3: like that, we were still doing a job. I wonder
- 50:37Speaker 3: if other people were working that summer, if other people
- 50:40Speaker 3: had the fortunate the fortune that we had to be
- 50:44Speaker 3: able to work, because I remember there's summers that we
- 50:47Speaker 3: didn't work, and it was always like that nervous feeling
- 50:51Speaker 3: when you came back, yes, and feeling like by the
- 50:56Speaker 3: time we get into episode three, my rhythm will be back.
- 50:59Speaker 3: But we were very lucky. We came into this thing
- 51:02Speaker 3: charged and ready to go, you know what I mean.
- 51:04Speaker 3: That's why I when I look at the stuff that
- 51:06Speaker 3: we did in the beginning of the episode that you
- 51:10Speaker 3: know that follows through the episode, we're very in sync
- 51:14Speaker 3: and we're very uh, I don't know how to put it,
- 51:18Speaker 3: but it seems like there's a little bit of season
- 51:19Speaker 3: on it, you know what I mean.
- 51:20Speaker 1: We hadn't we had. The funny thing is we hadn't separated.
- 51:23Speaker 1: We had spent the whole summer laughing and being ourselves
- 51:26Speaker 1: Slash Turk and JD together just in Manhattan, and then
- 51:29Speaker 1: we just rolled right into it. I mean, that's why
- 51:31Speaker 1: I think we're this episode. You and I are really
- 51:33Speaker 1: funny together in that in that whole bed joke, because
- 51:36Speaker 1: it's just like that was that was kind of what
- 51:37Speaker 1: we did all summer. I wonder Bill was probably imagining
- 51:40Speaker 1: that that's what we were up to. But did you
- 51:42Speaker 1: ever ever find when you start a new movie or
- 51:45Speaker 1: a new project, like in the beginning, especially the first week,
- 51:48Speaker 1: you just feel so weird and rusty, and you kind
- 51:52Speaker 1: of always wish you could go back and redo whatever
- 51:54Speaker 1: you did the first week. Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Absolutely, I find that some I find that sometimes those
- 51:59Speaker 3: are the better scenes because uh, you're not as uh
- 52:05Speaker 3: you're not you're I don't know, man, when you start
- 52:08Speaker 3: to oh, I nailed that or that was what I wanted,
- 52:12Speaker 3: you've already decided what your choice was that you wanted
- 52:15Speaker 3: to put into the scene.
- 52:18Speaker 5: But when you're rusty and you can't figure it out,
- 52:22Speaker 5: you're trying anything, and sometimes that's the best. You know,
- 52:25Speaker 5: that's the best thing.
- 52:27Speaker 1: And you're yeah, and you've got you've got an adrenaline going.
- 52:29Speaker 1: But whether I'm directing or I'm acting, I always feel
- 52:31Speaker 1: like day one is so crazy because you know, no
- 52:33Speaker 1: one knows each other, You're meeting everyone and and it's
- 52:36Speaker 1: all it's a whole new world. And and then then
- 52:38Speaker 1: you have to go perform. I always try and make
- 52:41Speaker 1: the first couple of days if I'm directing super light,
- 52:43Speaker 1: so people are you know, especially you don't want to
- 52:46Speaker 1: put anything like some big emotional scene or or a
- 52:48Speaker 1: love scene or anything that's too intimate, because you want
- 52:51Speaker 1: people to sort of build the time to get to
- 52:53Speaker 1: know each other, and you try and pick something strategically
- 52:55Speaker 1: that that, you know, that isn't too hard of a day.
- 52:59Speaker 1: But I, you know, I always have this fantasy like, oh,
- 53:01Speaker 1: I should go back and like reshoot week one, you know,
- 53:05Speaker 1: after now that we're all friends, we all now that
- 53:06Speaker 1: we all know each other.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Right right, we paid There were a lot of jokes
- 53:12Speaker 3: in this episode that we you know, we either put
- 53:16Speaker 3: in the beginning of the episode just so it could
- 53:18Speaker 3: play at the end of the episode, or some that
- 53:21Speaker 3: are from last season, like Elliott telling her mom about
- 53:25Speaker 3: the guy at work that she's you know, that she
- 53:29Speaker 3: kind of still has feelings for on the phone and
- 53:32Speaker 3: her you hear oh and she goes, yes, Mom, I'm straight.
- 53:35Speaker 3: That was a joke from last season that finally gets
- 53:38Speaker 3: paid off in this in the first episode of the
- 53:41Speaker 3: second season.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that's what Bill was talking about in last
- 53:44Speaker 1: in the last episode of the podcast when he said
- 53:46Speaker 1: that you know, people like it when there's you know,
- 53:49Speaker 1: these little these continuing things that they go, oh, I
- 53:52Speaker 1: remember when she said to her mom that she was gay.
- 53:54Speaker 1: You know, right, all right, So everybody listen, we have
- 53:57Speaker 1: a guest. We're going to take a break and we'll
- 53:59Speaker 1: be right back with Season two, Episode one of Fake
- 54:04Speaker 1: Doggar's Real friends.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Hey, hello there, Julia, Why hi, Julia?
- 54:20Speaker 9: Hi?
- 54:20Speaker 5: How are you have on scrubs? Where are you right now?
- 54:23Speaker 10: I don't have scrubsrub These are my clothes?
- 54:28Speaker 5: Are the JD And.
- 54:33Speaker 1: She's wearing a Oh nice, nice, Nice to meet Julia.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Nice to meet you. So thrilled.
- 54:43Speaker 5: Damn big round of applause for Julia.
- 54:49Speaker 1: My god, there you go. There's your Oprah intro. Guys,
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know you've made it on the podcast when you
- 54:54Speaker 1: get a Donald face on Oprah intro.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I can't believe they just said my name?
- 54:58Speaker 5: How did we get two people at the same time?
- 55:00Speaker 5: How did this end?
- 55:01Speaker 1: Well, they might know each other. I bet there's something
- 55:03Speaker 1: that that Joelle is going to reveal, or maybe Julie
- 55:05Speaker 1: is going to reveal it.
- 55:06Speaker 7: So we have a mother and son here. They've been
- 55:09Speaker 7: quarantined separately but watching the show. They'd watch the show
- 55:12Speaker 7: together for a long time, since this kid was thirteen.
- 55:14Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 55:15Speaker 7: And it continues to bring them together, so I wanted
- 55:17Speaker 7: them to share.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Their Oh that's so sweet. That's really love it.
- 55:20Speaker 3: That's crazy is that he looks like a grown man.
- 55:23Speaker 3: So that just makes me feel old.
- 55:27Speaker 1: Well he's how old is Noah? Julia? Oh he's a
- 55:31Speaker 1: grown man.
- 55:31Speaker 5: Oh yeah, he's very grown.
- 55:33Speaker 2: He's a grown man.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Now, Julia tell us the story. Did you guys were
- 55:37Speaker 1: you watch when did you start watching? Did you were
- 55:39Speaker 1: you always watching together? Or did you were you watching
- 55:42Speaker 1: when it was originally airing?
- 55:44Speaker 2: Well? I was always watching when it was originally airing.
- 55:47Speaker 10: I wasn't going to allow him to watch that when
- 55:49Speaker 10: it was originally airing.
- 55:51Speaker 5: Noah, you missed it already, but I said already.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Noah, stop there you go. Noah and Julie, I think
- 56:00Speaker 1: you've done the Oprah intro. Jesus, people's ears are gonna
- 56:02Speaker 1: blow out.
- 56:03Speaker 2: No, keep doing it.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Don't you like me to do it? O god, Oh
- 56:09Speaker 1: my god, No, Please don't encourage this behavior.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I expected this out of you.
- 56:13Speaker 5: Zach.
- 56:13Speaker 1: I cringe. I love it, don't get me wrong. Donald's
- 56:16Speaker 1: Oprah voice makes my life. But I do have to
- 56:18Speaker 1: pull my ear and my headphone back from my ear,
- 56:21Speaker 1: and I'm always worried that someone's gonna be like on
- 56:23Speaker 1: a jog and like blow out their ear drum.
- 56:26Speaker 11: Yeah, no, that's fine.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Tell us about you guys. Your mom started to tell us,
- 56:30Speaker 1: but like, how did you find the Scrubs? And you
- 56:32Speaker 1: guys are apparently watching it together through quarantine somehow.
- 56:37Speaker 11: Yeah, I mean it was a long time ago. We
- 56:41Speaker 11: I mean we got to watch probably shoot when did
- 56:44Speaker 11: you guys start because I would say we were probably
- 56:47Speaker 11: around season three when we actually started watching, from when
- 56:50Speaker 11: you guys made it on TV, so we were like
- 56:53Speaker 11: week to week by that basis. But but you know,
- 56:56Speaker 11: after that, I'm still I'm young, but I'm still old
- 56:58Speaker 11: enough to like have the Dish, watch that pre Netflix,
- 57:04Speaker 11: who who all that stuff?
- 57:06Speaker 1: You know. I hope that people are watching as we
- 57:09Speaker 1: do the show. That's what we envisioned happening. I don't
- 57:13Speaker 1: know if I definitely, because a lot of people ask
- 57:15Speaker 1: me on on Instagram like can you do a summary
- 57:17Speaker 1: of the show at the top, And I mean, I
- 57:19Speaker 1: guess we could do that, but I just assume that.
- 57:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess a lot of people don't
- 57:22Speaker 1: have time to do that. But do you think we
- 57:24Speaker 1: should be doing Joelle, Should we be doing a summary?
- 57:27Speaker 1: Is that better podcasting? It feels boring to me to
- 57:30Speaker 1: be like in this episode.
- 57:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought people would watch along.
- 57:34Speaker 7: But if you're getting a ton of comments, I think
- 57:35Speaker 7: maybe we could try to do a timed one could
- 57:37Speaker 7: do like a thirty second recap of the show.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Yeah, well, Donald and I could try and do it
- 57:43Speaker 1: like together, like without reading it, because like you could
- 57:46Speaker 1: easily read one. But it'd be more fun if we're like,
- 57:48Speaker 1: all right, this is what happens.
- 57:49Speaker 7: Yeah, totally try I'll have a timer, like that's it.
- 57:52Speaker 7: You can't explain any further show.
- 57:54Speaker 5: Yeah, and we only get thirty seconds to explain the show.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Or we could each have a competition where we each
- 58:01Speaker 1: have fifteen seconds to describe the show and then and
- 58:04Speaker 1: then you and Dan vote on who did a better
- 58:07Speaker 1: show the show?
- 58:08Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, no not?
- 58:09Speaker 1: Why not? Why not?
- 58:10Speaker 5: Because you're you're a writer?
- 58:12Speaker 1: One yes?
- 58:13Speaker 3: Two I I I no, no, absolutely not. Then I've
- 58:18Speaker 3: been vetoed, yes, veto that shit.
- 58:22Speaker 1: Okay, I think I would enjoy I would enjoy, Like
- 58:24Speaker 1: the Donald summarizes, there could be like a little music
- 58:28Speaker 1: cue Dan, like a like a bell tree or something
- 58:30Speaker 1: like and no. Donald Faison summarizes the episode.
- 58:33Speaker 3: All right, so this is what happens, right j D
- 58:36Speaker 3: and Turk That shit would be a left you know what.
- 58:41Speaker 5: But listen, Yeah, we'll try it next time, but no rating.
- 58:44Speaker 5: Who did it better?
- 58:45Speaker 1: Okay, fine, fine, fine, listen. I just think that for
- 58:48Speaker 1: season two we gotta you know, you always want to
- 58:50Speaker 1: introduce some new things for the fans. You want to
- 58:53Speaker 1: bring in, like, so now we're gonna do ask Rob,
- 58:56Speaker 1: We're gonna do a Donald summarizes the show in thirty seconds. Okay,
- 59:00Speaker 1: this is the this is the content that people need.
- 59:04Speaker 5: Two brand new things. Let's get back to Julia.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Oh my god. Uh do you guys have a question
- 59:12Speaker 1: for for for Donald and or I.
- 59:17Speaker 2: I mean I have a question and Noah has a question.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Okay, first, Julie, you go first. You're the lady.
- 59:23Speaker 10: My question is just for you that I was just
- 59:26Speaker 10: wondering if you had gotten around to watching Remember the Titans.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Yeah, great question. Question, Julia, why are you putting a spot?
- 59:36Speaker 2: Well, for a couple of reasons.
- 59:39Speaker 10: I think it's one of the best movies ever made,
- 59:42Speaker 10: Thank you, my top three. And I mean Donald's character
- 59:46Speaker 10: Pete Jones is the running.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Back, the running back.
- 59:51Speaker 2: That's why he is the running back. It is It
- 59:54Speaker 2: is a beautiful, beautiful movie.
- 59:56Speaker 10: I it is one of the movies that if I
- 59:58Speaker 10: if it's on TV.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: I'll watch it with commercials.
- 1:00:02Speaker 10: I'll yeah, matter where it's at in the movie and
- 1:00:06Speaker 10: watch it beginning and the middle.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. I think I've seen it.
- 1:00:09Speaker 10: I don't know, and I'm not exaggerating at least one
- 1:00:13Speaker 10: hundred times.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Julia, Wow, it's interesting.
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Well, first of all, Julia, I appreciate you. You are
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: amazing for that. Second of all, do you know what
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: you and Zach haven't don't have in common?
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: You've watched, You've watched remember.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: The time Listen. I knew this was going to come
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: up today, and I was very nervous about it. And
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I just want to say, I had my parents here
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: this weekend and I didn't have time, but I'm going
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: to watch it is all.
- 1:00:41Speaker 10: It's one hundred and thirteen minutes. That's it, okay, And
- 1:00:45Speaker 10: it's a beautiful, beautiful movie. And it's really indicative of
- 1:00:47Speaker 10: today's times, even though that's actually very sad that it is. Well,
- 1:00:52Speaker 10: one more thing about remember the Titans. We love fit
- 1:00:55Speaker 10: so much, Noah and I do that. Noah got married
- 1:00:58Speaker 10: this past January and Ain't no Mountain high enough?
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: Was the uh? Was the mother son dance?
- 1:01:05Speaker 7: That's great, that's so sweet because of the locker room.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: Yeah, Ryan Gosling singing, Ain't no Mountain high Enough?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: And you guys each other spoilers, Julia spoilers.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it's good.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: You know you're right. You're right, and I'm ashamed about it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: And you can believe that I got a lot of
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: a lot of heat on my Instagram comments about how
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: dare you not watch Donald's movie? Et cetera.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: It's a gorgeous, gorgeous film.
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: Okay, Zach, have you seen Clueless?
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: Of course I've seen Clueless. I love Clueless. Okay, we're
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: not going to go through all your credits. Okay, I
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: haven't seen Zach, Zach, I saw the Postman one the Postman?
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: What was you saw next to the air? That's because
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: I brought you to my house.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Okay, come on, you don't argue in front of the guests. Noah,
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: do you have a question that's unrelated to you?
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: Ever watch Waiting to Exhale? That you ever watch Waiting
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: to Exhale? That late great Whitney Houston's in that one Z.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: That I know? And Angela Bassett, who's a friend of mine,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: by the way, award.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Winning and uh uh Oscar Award winning Angela? Wait, did
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Angela basket win Oscar? No Ah, that's right for for
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: for for Tina Turner.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: You don't know that, Noa. Noah's question might be zach
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: if you watched another one of Donald's movies.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: You don't know waiting to exail, Let's see, let's find out, Okay, Noah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 11: No pressure, No I wish I was better with my
- 1:02:36Speaker 11: hands and looking up to ask if he has you.
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Don't have to look him up. They're all hits, Noah,
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: they're all hits.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: No I want you to be favored. I'm gonna watch
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna watch Remember the Titans tonight. But I want
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: you to watch a little film called Homie Spimoni.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: You could watch that if you want to, or you
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: could watch Next Day Air or Kick Ass too or
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Clueless or waiting to exhale or can't hardly waite.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: Or Juice or Juice or all these movies are considered
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: movies that made a lot of money.
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: And guess who's never seen any of these movies.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: That's not true. I saw Josie and the pussy Cats.
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: No, you didn't.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: I saw can't hardly wait? Who was I can't hardly wait? Uh?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: And can hardly wait? You're you're the guy who's friends
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: with the other guys.
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, Noah.
- 1:03:27Speaker 11: Noah has a question, Zach Okay, so I know that
- 1:03:32Speaker 11: obviously JD loves You've been quoted saying you don't.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: A lot of people got upset. I think I tweeted
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: that years ago and people were like, what is life? People?
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: People were like, I don't want to live anymore in
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: the world. Yeah, exactly. That was the reaction people to have.
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: They were like, it was so funny. It got retweeted.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Isn't his character right?
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: People like, I don't want to live in this world anymore.
- 1:04:04Speaker 11: I'm just curious what you do drink and if you
- 1:04:07Speaker 11: get a little handsy afterwards, what that looks like.
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: I can't wait before?
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Can I answer? This question? Was directed in me?
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: Dude, Yeah, but one of those questions that I should
- 1:04:17Speaker 5: probably answer.
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: You can answer after me. I like you. I like
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: all things I drink. It depends if I'm if I'm
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: gonna have wine I like like a a good if
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna have red, I like a nice pinot. I
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: like if I'm gonna have a cocktail, usually vodka, something vodka.
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: So do you remember when you went in the gimlet?
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I was in a gimlet phase for a while,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: and then I like beer. I like beer, but I
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I'm gluten free, so I drink gluten free like pale
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: ale because I like pale ale a lot.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Okay, so listen, Zach never gets handsy when he's drunk,
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: not in handy in the sense of grabbing and hugging
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: and all of that stuff, but he does get very
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: handy with the with the with his points. So if
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: he has a point to make, Zach is very and
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: let me tell you, emphatic, very emphatic about how he
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: You guys can't see it at home listening to this,
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: but it's one of those things where everything has his
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: pointer fingers pointed high, and then he brings it down hard,
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: like a like a javelin.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I think it's a common quality for people who've been
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: overserved that they get emphatic. No, that's what I drink.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: Donald drinks anything and everything.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: Listen, I don't have a preference.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Donald, just as long as that is alcohol.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: No, it's not. No, Well, no, let's be honest. Let's
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: let's tell the truth. I do enjoy uh libation.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Are you do you have a plan for the for
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: the for the fourth Donald or you're gonna make some
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: fancy cocktail at your house?
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: No? But I probably will make burgers and franks.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Okay, but you don't have like a frozen drink lined up.
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: What do you guys got plans for?
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Yeah? What are you, Julia? No, I assume you're not
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: together in the same city.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: We're in the same city. We're about time. You're trying
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: to be. We're just trying to be you know. Good.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Do you guys go around? You guys go around other people?
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: Then obviously you've been around.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: We try to keep it very I've really only been home.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I have to say, off, I fell off the wagon,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: Julia with my with my mom because she she came
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: to visit me, and she's been very very strict, as
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: as have I been. And uh so I felt and
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: she'd driven, she didn't fly and she I opened the
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: front door and she said, are we gonna hug? And
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: I said, you bet we are.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Mom that's right.
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: We had the biggest hug.
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: So are Why don't you Why don't you guys? If
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: you guys have been both quarantining for fourteen days without
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: seeing anyone and stuff, We.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Try we try to.
- 1:07:02Speaker 10: All three of my kids actually live in the city,
- 1:07:04Speaker 10: and we all live about ten minutes away from each other.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: We might be able to see each other this weekend
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: a little bit.
- 1:07:13Speaker 10: You living Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: In the house right on.
- 1:07:19Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys are experiencing a spike right now too,
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: like we are in California.
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: It's going up.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Yeah youah, nothing like La County though. Man where we
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: are is just blowing the roof off the graph sadly.
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a shame, it is.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: But we're here to cheer people up, so we're not
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: going to dwell, right guys. That's right, all right, Well,
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming on. I hope you
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: enjoyed your visit.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: An amazing pleasure. Thank you so much.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: We were so glad you liked the show. In the
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: podcast where we hope we were, we're trying to just
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: trying to make people giggle a little bit during this
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: wacky time.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you've done a great job.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: I just wanted I just want to reiterate what Julia said,
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: uh when she asked her question.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Uh, Zach, Oh god, tonight, it's give me tonight.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: It's give me.
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: Tonight, you guys, tonight. It's all heard it here tonight.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: We don't have a we don't have a movie. We've
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: been watching Alone though. By the way, have you guys
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: watched the show alone?
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: No, Zach, everybody's rewatching remember the Titans that I will watch.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I will watch the fucking movie. But I just want
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: you to know I'm giving a shower.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: First of all, it's not a First of all, watch
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: your mouth when you talk about the Titans. Okay, first
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: of all, watch your mouth. Second, it's a classic. It's
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: Disney and it has a lot to do with what's
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: going on right now. And your boys in it, your
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: homies in it, your friend's in it, your your your your,
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: your compadre.
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: Is in it.
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Oh you sorry, I thought you meant like I knew
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: dedn't sell or something. I'm gonna watch it tonight, but listen,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: you guys, I'm gonna give a shout out to this
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: Netflix show. It's called Alone, and they put these survivalists
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: in the middle of the and they have to see
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: how long they can survive with nothing. And it's amusing.
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: Doesn't sound better than Remember the Titans?
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Okay, well they have no music that Julia and Noah
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: would dance to at Noah's wedding. I can guarantee you that.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: That's really cool, man, that's really cool. Are you still married?
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: I am?
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Yeah? So you know why? Because of the song? Because
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: of the song?
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, we got to wrap this up because
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: we've been going a very long time and we have
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: to finish talking about the episode. But thank you guys
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: so much. We appreciate you, We love you. Stay safe,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: stay healthy, and have a great holiday weekend.
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: People, please give a big round of applause to Julia and.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: No Thunder supplause, Dan Thunder, supplause to them because they're
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: very nice people.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: Yeah they were.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: How funny was my pratfaul when I reached for the dryer?
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: I mean, come on, that was glorious.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: You got skills?
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: I mean, did you see that The arms went up
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: like this, I fall back the hands. I'm like, I've
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: got my I'm trying to dry my crotch on the
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: hand drive and then kelso says something like you need
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to buy that thing dinner and uh and then I
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: falling and my arms came out. I was pretty proud
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: of that one. By the way. That was the JD
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: fall noise. Okay, that should be a ring tone. Everything.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: We're gonna make everything.
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: A ring tone.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Another one, another one, the best ring tones, Sweet, the
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: best We the best ring tones?
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Another one, Yeah, we dropped another one.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: That's how funny was when Cox is screaming at me
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: and I'm like basking in his spit.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: Yeah, that wouldn't happen nowadays with Corona. It was very funny.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: It was funny though, and the way it was shot
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: slow motion is I'm just like basking in his spittle. Yeah. Now,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: then there's this cool floating fantasy thing, very Spike Lee technique. Yeah.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: I always it's likely always has a moment in as
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: movies where people are sort of seemingly floating as though
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: they're they're feet are on wheels. And we did that
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: fantasy where it seemed like everyone was floating around.
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: It's always in a one shot when they're walking down
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: the streets, so it's like a it's like a cowboy.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: Well, the cowboy is.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Cowboys to where the where your guns would be if
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: you were a cowboy.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: So it's it's what's above that then like just above that,
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: like above the waist you.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Could say wasty okay, So making but Donalds sawing about
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: for those who don't know, is like there's all sorts
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: of shot sizes, have of people of actors have these nicknames.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: One of them is like if someone's framing up a shot,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: they're like, oh, kind of give me kind of a cowboy,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: and that means as you frame up the actor, have
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: the shot be a hold hold where it's kind of
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: like back to the old school westerns, like make sure
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you can see if you know where the cowboys guns
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: would be, so you're wide enough to see that low
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: on the person's legs. Right, So that's that terminology.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: But he always does it so you can't see the
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: legs moving, but and you can see, well, they're just
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: gliding and they're gliding right. So and we did that
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: in this We did something similar to that in this episode. Right,
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: and I'm gonna be honest with you, I can't skate,
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: so somebody had to push me to get me to
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: get that movement going, right. And then on the other side.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Somebody had to stop me because I couldn't stop myself.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: I'm a horrible skater.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: Well, some of the actors, some of the actors I
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: forgot which ones, I'm assuming Ken was one of them,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: are on just like low you know, platform dollies that
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: are being pulled on ropes to make them glide like that.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: And then some of the actors who could be on
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: rollerblades were on rollerblades. Sarah, who was a good rollerblader,
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: is the one who sort of takes the turn. Yeah.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: I thought it was a really cool shot the way
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: it was, so, I don't think it cuts. I think
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: it's a woner and I don't know. I thought it
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: was beautifully done by Adam Bernstein, who direct and directed
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: our pilot. Yeah.
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: Absolutely, who actually gets a shout out who shows up
- 1:12:58Speaker 5: in the show in the second get uh carcine when
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: they're like, is this the same kid?
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: Yeah? At seventeen forty one, when it cuts to people reacting.
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: There's a scene of the hallway and Bernstein pops up.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, the Bernstein, Adam Bernstein. If you if you want
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: to see a hitchcocky and director cameo. He pops up
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: he's the one on mc gurney. How about Todd going
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: at fourteen fifty four, you look totally hot mirror Todd.
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: Yeah, and then you're grabbing his love handles. Yeah, you're
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: grabbing his love handles for it.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: And then Sarah just tabbing her bra out. That was scandalous.
- 1:13:37Speaker 5: That was very scandal Do you think that would that
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: would fly nowadays?
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: And yeah, I mean it's funny, a bro, it's funny.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: The bra is no different than a bathing suit, right,
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: especially if it's that kind of bra. But I just
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: it's the context, right. Our brains go, oh, this is
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: so risque because she's in her bra, but it's not
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: like it's showing any more than a bathing suit would.
- 1:13:54Speaker 5: Right, don't you think?
- 1:13:55Speaker 7: No?
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: I agree with you one hundred percent.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: You know what made me laugh really hard though, was
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: when I forget what you said, what you did, but
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: for some reason, somehow you got me in trouble with Carla,
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: And I said to you tonight, I'm eating Mexican and
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: then i'll.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: See you in bench. Yeah, yeah, meeting, I'm gonna be
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: farting all night.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Right. But the way, I always had this idea of
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: an invention that I'm now going to give to the
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: world to steal, although someone's already stolen it. That someone
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: makes a pill you take and it changes the scent
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: of your flatulence to something nice.
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: Is that possible?
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: I didn't think it was. I wanted to take it
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: to Chris soaka by billionaire friend and say, I have
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: this great invention idea, let's develop it together. And then
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: I just saw on the internet today someone was selling
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: these chocolate pills and you supposedly eat the chocolate pills
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: and they make your flatulence smell like chocolate. Bullshit, Google it,
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Google that shit. So this is my invention idea. There
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: were going to be different flavors. You could have POLPOI,
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: you could have any any flavor you wanted, butterscotch.
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: I wouldn't mind.
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: Yeah, what somebody, what flavor would you choose?
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: Rights?
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: That's a good question. If somebody farted, what smell would
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: you like to smell at them?
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Chocolate chip cookies? Chocolate chip cookies, isn't good fart smell?
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Yeah? Or or or onions and garlic in the pan? Nah?
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Well that no that I.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: Tend to stay away from the savory and golden.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: R for the sweet Okay, I'll go with sort of
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: a chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: Yeah, that sounds nice.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: So this was my idea. I had this idea. You know,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I'm sure everyone listening has an invention idea that they
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: never took action on, and then it eventually comes out
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: and you're like, damn it, that person's gonna get rich
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: off that invention idea. Well, mine was some sort of
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: vitamin or capsule that you swallow that scientifically eliminates the
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: flatulence smell and changes it to something else. And now
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: I'm telling you it's a thing. I'm gonna buy it
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: and try it and see if it works.
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: I would like some of it too.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: I'll give it to you for I don't know, deleated
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Father's Day? Are you look at the books I gave
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: you at all?
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: Don't put me on a spot like that.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: You're putting me on the spot with Remember the Titans
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: have even plans at the books I gave you? Have
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: you even plans at the motherfucker both I gave.
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: Yeah, they're in my bathroom. There there my bathroom reading.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Oh okay, good, but you just on your phone the
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: whole time. They don't even fucking open those books to you. Listen, man,
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I want to know something. Are they on the floor?
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: But then when you're pulling, you just look at your phone?
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: Keep it real. I love Shay, all right, Shay. I
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I bought Donald your books because I thought that he
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: would like them. And I think that him looking on
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: his phone might be upstaging them and they might be
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: on his bathroom floor. I love Shay. What about Jay
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Johnny c McGinley smashing the guitar. I bet he loved
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: doing that.
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that was one of those moments where you could
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: tell he was like, I'm a fucking Colin, Hey, be here,
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: still here fucking singing this damn song. I've heard it
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: all week long, Give me the guitar. Yeah, and then
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: he goes to town on it even comes back around.
- 1:17:12Speaker 3: He goes one side and then even comes back around
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: like with a backfist with the guitar.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I bet that felt good though.
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: I have other songs.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and then Colin he goes I have other songs.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: I think they have places you can go and you
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: put on goggles so you protect your eyes, and you
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: take a bat and you can just like wail on
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: a car.
- 1:17:31Speaker 5: I think a lot of us need that nowadays.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: That would be nice, right, just to break something.
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: Yeah, just to break something and not have consequences after
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: you break it, you know what I mean?
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: Like, yeah, you know what.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: They have Vegas too, They have I really want to
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: do this with you when the world opens back up.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: They have a place in Vegas. You go and it's
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: a giant, you know, construction site type area and you
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: can operate any of the giant heavy machinery like bulldozers
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: and cranes and wrecking balls and like you could just
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: the biggest construction equipment you've ever seen. It's like a giant,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: enormous sandbox for adults.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: I imagine that could be a lot of fun, but
- 1:18:11Speaker 3: I imagine it's also very dangerous. I couldn't imagine myself.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: But with a wrecking ball.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: How fun would that be? Though, Dude, we got to
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: do that.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: It would be fun at first, and then when the
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: wrecking ball comes back and hits the fucking think, I'm on,
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: I'm be sure that they teach you how to do it.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I don't think they just throw you in it and
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: like good luck.
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: You need a license to use all of them.
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: Obviously, not everything's off in Vegas. They're like they found
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: a way around. The funny thing is I think there's
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: a bar, but like you can only go to the
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: bar after the fact.
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: This all sounds very sketchy.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: I want to dig with you, dude. I want to
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: dig with you.
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: I would.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: We can make something together.
- 1:18:53Speaker 5: Right, we could dig. Let's dig.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: I want to make something with you. I want to
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: know movies this? What movie is this? I want to
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: be with you, guys.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Sixteen candles, Yep, it's easy, that's easy.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: That's the nerdy kid. The nerdy kid who doesn't want
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: to go to the doesn't want to go to the
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: day and the parents force him and he's They're like,
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: they lock him in the gym. They locked him in
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: the gym.
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: I want to stay home with you, guys.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I want to be with you guys.
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: All right, Yo, you grabbing the pillow at the end
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: of the show when I leave.
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Yeah, that's funny. So I feel whenever I part weighs
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: with you, Donald, I want.
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: To catch pow, clutch a pillow. I feel that way
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: all the time when well not all the time, but
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: when we part.
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: When we part ways, you want to clutch a pillow.
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: Not necessarily clutch a pillow, but I still want that
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: extra hug. I want to We haven't Wow, we haven't
- 1:19:44Speaker 5: huged on that note.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: That's the episode everyone we have kicked off season two.
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: We haven't hugged it a long time.
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: I miss your touch. You always have such a good
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: I like a man who hugs tightly. You know, a
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: lot of men do this bullshit because they're insecure about
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: their their their their sexuality or I don't know what
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: it is, but they do a they do sort of
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: a your groins can't be touching, and they do they
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: put the arm in between and then they do a tap.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: They got a tap. That's not how Donald and I hugged.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: We get down there.
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: No, I like it when you fucking squeeze.
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: Randall Winston, who we've had on the show Man, it's

- 1:20:26Speaker 5: Yeah, it's almost a bear hug.

- 1:20:30Speaker 1: breath before you engage.
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: With that, because because he's definitely knocking the wind out
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: of you.

- 1:21:13Speaker 5: I am going to tell them to fucking wear a mask.
- 1:21:14Speaker 3: But I think I think what's going on is people
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: are looking at it as a control issue, and people
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: are trying to control you.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Please don't look at it that way.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Look at it more like, even if you don't think
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: you're sick, there's still a possibility that you could be
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: and you're asymptomatic. And imagine being a young child who well,
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: you know, teenagers and young adults are the ones that
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: are getting this virus lot right now and definitely can
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: pass it on to their parents, and they're the adult
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: figures in their life. And people above forty five aren't
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: faring well with this.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: So please DOMD just turned forty six, so please, please, please,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: wear and wear a mask out in public. Okay, that's
