- 1:19Speaker 2: As like what's going on there.
- 1:23Speaker 1: And his dad's saying all sorts of stuff that doesn't
- 1:26Speaker 1: really doesn't really line up to making sense, but whatever

- 3:01Speaker 1: then the Ultimate which includes Ultimate Package, which includes over
- 3:04Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty channels one ninety nine per month. Okay, So,
- 3:13Speaker 1: like I said, if the sound is messed up, I'm sorry,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I may have to get a different mic for this
- 3:18Speaker 1: new computer.
- 3:19Speaker 2: That's what it kind of feels like.
- 3:21Speaker 1: It is what it is though, right, that's part of
- 3:24Speaker 1: updating your stuff and all that good stuff, you know.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I want to get to the Catterall fight first before
- 3:32Speaker 1: we get into the other stuff. I thought this was
- 3:36Speaker 1: a very competitive fight. The scorecards I thought were fairly,
- 3:42Speaker 1: fairly fair. The first three rounds were pretty slow. There'd
- 3:49Speaker 1: be only like little spurts of some back and forth,
- 3:56Speaker 1: mostly like in the later part of the round, the
- 3:59Speaker 1: second and third.
- 4:00Speaker 3: For sure.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So I had Caterall up two to one after three.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Could you have it, you know, two to one Barbosa?
- 4:09Speaker 1: I wouldn't, That wouldn't shock me, right, I did give
- 4:12Speaker 1: Barbosa the fourth round, you know, Like I said, some
- 4:19Speaker 1: back and forth, but overall I just thought that, you know,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I thought he I thought he won the round there
- 4:27Speaker 1: and the scoring panel had it three to one, all
- 4:32Speaker 1: three to one.
- 4:32Speaker 2: For Catall after four rounds.
- 4:35Speaker 1: The fifth round was one of those kind of like
- 4:38Speaker 1: some of the early ones, just a non eventful round.
- 4:42Speaker 1: So which one do you give it to? It's a
- 4:44Speaker 1: good question. I did give the sixth to Catall. I
- 4:48Speaker 1: thought Barbosa had some early busy work and he landed
- 4:51Speaker 1: like a late right hand that might have stole the round.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But I thought the hard shots, multiple left hands that
- 4:58Speaker 1: landed clean for Catall did enough for me personally. Seventh
- 5:04Speaker 1: round a very competitive round. The fifth not too much happening,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but the seventh was close being competitive, so that could
- 5:13Speaker 1: be maybe a give one and one, you know. The
- 5:15Speaker 1: eighth Barbosa I gave him. You know, I thought he
- 5:19Speaker 1: was busier. He had the jab going, landing some really
- 5:22Speaker 1: solid shots to the head and body, and it seemed
- 5:24Speaker 1: like Barbosa was switching it up a little bit more and.
- 5:30Speaker 2: You know, like bringing more pressure than he had before.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I don't think Catall that eighth round, although he landed
- 5:38Speaker 1: some clean left I just don't think he was active enough.
- 5:41Speaker 1: I did give Catral the ninth left hands landing bigger,
- 5:48Speaker 1: better shots, basically a few nice shots and just you know,
- 5:52Speaker 1: busy work in the ninth, but that wasn't enough for Barbosa.
- 5:59Speaker 1: The tenth I gave to Barboza, a right hand to
- 6:04Speaker 1: the head was the best land of the round. There
- 6:07Speaker 1: was like a late trip, no knockdown type thing late
- 6:12Speaker 1: in that, you know, in that round right at the
- 6:14Speaker 1: end of the round. If I remember correctly, The eleventh
- 6:17Speaker 1: was close. Maybe Catterall landed the bigger shots very close,
- 6:22Speaker 1: though I gave it to Catterall.
- 6:24Speaker 2: And of course I gave the twelfth.
- 6:28Speaker 1: To Barboza, you know, left hooks to close the round,
- 6:33Speaker 1: two of them, I believe, and just busier, so I
- 6:35Speaker 1: gave it there. I mean, honestly, six six, six '
- 6:38Speaker 1: five to one. I think the tops you could go
- 6:40Speaker 1: is seven to five. I wouldn't go any any higher
- 6:43Speaker 1: than that, So yeah, either way, six six would have
- 6:47Speaker 1: been fine with me. You know. I had five to
- 6:49Speaker 1: five in their swing rounds, you know, So the fifth
- 6:53Speaker 1: and seventh were close. The first was kind of close,
- 6:56Speaker 1: so the scorecards read all seven five, two of them
- 7:00Speaker 1: for Barboso. So I did think Caterall snuck it out,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but it wasn't like, you know, it was clean, you
- 7:11Speaker 1: know what I mean. So we'll talk a little bit
- 7:14Speaker 1: about the undercard a little later. I do kind of
- 7:18Speaker 1: want to get to some of that ESPN stuff as well.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Let's start with Ziaz and uh SPOONNERN. Right, this was
- 7:32Speaker 1: a pretty good fight for him, uh Spomer, you know,
- 7:35Speaker 1: solid fighter and whatnot. Ziaz I gave him the first
- 7:41Speaker 1: two rounds for sure. He had the one two going.
- 7:45Speaker 1: He bloodied his no nos pretty early. You know.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The second round had some two way stuff to it.
- 7:53Speaker 1: You know, it's not like uh Spoemer wasn't having any success.
- 7:58Speaker 1: The third round another fairly competitive round, still gave it
- 8:02Speaker 1: to Zairez, though the fourth round I gave to Spomer.
- 8:08Speaker 1: There was a low blow there, you know in the round,
- 8:16Speaker 1: but you know, like I don't know like it was
- 8:24Speaker 1: let's see that so let me look, I'm looking at
- 8:28Speaker 1: the wrong round. I think, oh, that's what it was.
- 8:32Speaker 1: So Zaiaz was very dominant until the last part. It
- 8:37Speaker 1: was a clean right hand in an exchange that was
- 8:42Speaker 1: you know, could that have won the round for him?
- 8:45Speaker 1: I could see given it desires just because he was
- 8:47Speaker 1: so dominant. But you know, when it comes to the
- 8:50Speaker 1: hardest shot, I think you could make that argument, you know,
- 8:57Speaker 1: because he was really busy Ziez. I think he lan
- 9:00Speaker 1: They said forty one punches in that round, so I
- 9:02Speaker 1: could totally give it to Zaias two. I thought the
- 9:04Speaker 1: fifth was pretty close. The sixth maybe was there a
- 9:09Speaker 1: that was another low blow, but he did kind of
- 9:12Speaker 1: I think it was in the fifth round. Maybe it
- 9:14Speaker 1: was maybe he's in the sixth, but he pushed his
- 9:17Speaker 1: head down. Spowman pushed his head down, so you know,
- 9:21Speaker 1: that could kind of go either way. And the shot
- 9:25Speaker 1: really when you looked at it, they replayed it and
- 9:27Speaker 1: everything was it was borderline, you know. I think Zaia's
- 9:31Speaker 1: overall had his offense and defense going down the stretch
- 9:35Speaker 1: of this fight the seventh and eighth in the body work,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I mean there was a point after five rounds or
- 9:42Speaker 1: six I think it was five rounds forty nine to
- 9:45Speaker 1: three when it came to the body. Ninth round, Zaias
- 9:50Speaker 1: land in an early right hand, left hooks as well,
- 9:56Speaker 1: and then a left hand to the body her him
- 10:00Speaker 1: definitely hurt Spomer and then like a flurry of shots
- 10:06Speaker 1: in the fight was over. Now wasn't an early stoppage.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think you can make the argument that it was
- 10:13Speaker 1: an early stoppage. Clearly Spomer was hurt, but sometimes I
- 10:19Speaker 1: just don't think it would hurt to, you know, to
- 10:22Speaker 1: let the fight go a little bit longer. But yeah,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I mean it was a good performance by Xander's eyes.
- 10:30Speaker 1: He talked about wanting Fandora and whatnot, so we'll get
- 10:36Speaker 1: into some of that stuff too, But uh, Davis and
- 10:41Speaker 1: Brinshick and Davis looked so big at one thirty five. Now,
- 10:50Speaker 1: the jabbed to the stomach in the first round. In
- 10:54Speaker 1: the second round, early right hands right when Brinshick was
- 11:00Speaker 1: stepping in, got got clocked. He did land like a
- 11:04Speaker 1: right hand to the head late, but the short uppercut
- 11:07Speaker 1: was a nice shot that you know, definitely like made
- 11:12Speaker 1: it where you know Davis. He had to give Davis
- 11:14Speaker 1: the second round, third round left hook to the body
- 11:18Speaker 1: kind of folds over on the ground, so he did
- 11:20Speaker 1: score a knockdown. There was like in the middle, a
- 11:23Speaker 1: little bit of two way stuff, but lan combinations from
- 11:28Speaker 1: Davis clearly ten eight round and then a combo to
- 11:32Speaker 1: the body and it's like a left hook to the
- 11:37Speaker 1: head and then to the body and that was a rap, dude.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So Davis now makes quick work of a very solid,
- 11:45Speaker 1: crafty fighter, which I thought he you know, I thought
- 11:48Speaker 1: Barnshik had a good chance to to make it, to
- 11:53Speaker 1: make it the full distance. I did say that, and
- 11:56Speaker 1: I was wrong, you know, Davis, Man, Wow, that was explosive.
- 12:02Speaker 2: That was that was a great, great performance.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And like I said, the last two times out, you
- 12:11Speaker 1: know that was that was only what is thirteenth fight
- 12:15Speaker 1: or something like that. Yeah, that was his thirteenth fight
- 12:19Speaker 1: in the last two times out man, you know, to
- 12:24Speaker 1: score quick knockouts over Lamo's, Gustavo Leamos and.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Then Branshi it that shit.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Man.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Like the Pedraza fight was good obviously, aged.
- 12:38Speaker 1: You know, the fight after that went ten rounds.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Like he's just putting it all together.
- 12:44Speaker 1: And I think they've you know, like squared him off
- 12:48Speaker 1: against solid competition. And now you do have you know,
- 12:56Speaker 1: like Mrtajev and you do I guess you could say
- 12:58Speaker 1: Loma as well. You have some other fighters there that
- 13:02Speaker 1: you can make could definitely make the fights, you know
- 13:05Speaker 1: what I mean. So you know, yeah, cruise there as well.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Obviously you have Davante. I don't think that fight's gonna
- 13:15Speaker 1: happen next per se, right, But man, two times in
- 13:22Speaker 1: a row now he's just and even beyond those fights.
- 13:26Speaker 1: You know, ten rounder kind of was like look good,
- 13:30Speaker 1: look kind of in between and then look good. You know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: the that ten rounder was just okay, it was pretty good.
- 13:38Speaker 1: But three out of the last four fights, man, he
- 13:40Speaker 1: just looked he's really looked phenomenon. Like I am very
- 13:46Speaker 1: impressed with keishaon Davis, And like I said, I don't
- 13:50Speaker 1: think he's gonna get the Jervonte fight next, But man,
- 13:54Speaker 1: this kid is really really really putting up, putting putting
- 14:02Speaker 1: up some some great shows man knockouts. And you know,
- 14:06Speaker 1: he didn't take much time to get going this fight
- 14:09Speaker 1: at all. Like I said, I like the jab right
- 14:14Speaker 1: to the body. Jared Anderston didn't really impress me much
- 14:20Speaker 1: on this one. Vito.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I thought Vito won the fight.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And actually let me, Uh, I see John coming in here,
- 14:33Speaker 1: so let's get John in there. He should be popping
- 14:39Speaker 1: in any second. Now. Hey, what's going on? John? How
- 14:45Speaker 1: the hell are you? Man? How goes it?
- 14:50Speaker 3: Chris? How are you not bad?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Man?
- 14:53Speaker 3: Not bad?
- 14:53Speaker 1: Uh? Still kind of working out the kinks on this
- 14:58Speaker 1: new computer. Yesterday the mic was sounded great, open it up,
- 15:04Speaker 1: get it going today and it just wasn't working. It
- 15:08Speaker 1: just wasn't working. So I just decided to just you know,
- 15:11Speaker 1: it is a brand new computer and stuff, with a
- 15:13Speaker 1: you know, a new chip and everything.
- 15:15Speaker 2: It's got the most updated things.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So I figured, oh, the microphone itself will do better
- 15:20Speaker 1: than what my MIC was doing. So I think I
- 15:22Speaker 1: needed to upgrade my MIC with this. I think there's
- 15:26Speaker 1: a little issue with that.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you can do that. It'll it'll work out in
- 15:29Speaker 3: the end. It's always tricky transitioning, but yeah, you might,
- 15:34Speaker 3: as you said, maybe maybe just getting a good quality MIC,
- 15:37Speaker 3: which isn't really all that expensive, right exactly.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I think it might take care of a computer, and
- 15:44Speaker 4: that mic lined up a lot better with that computer
- 15:47Speaker 4: because now it's just like the mic I have that's
- 15:50Speaker 4: worked so well all these last couple of years, it's just.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Like, nope, not happening. So so how are things going
- 15:58Speaker 1: in general? Obviously we have a couple of fights to
- 16:01Speaker 1: talk about from this last weekend, and then we have
- 16:04Speaker 1: a blockbuster card coming up. You know, one of the
- 16:09Speaker 1: fights that I wasn't overly excited for isn't gonna happen now,
- 16:14Speaker 1: so it's like, well, that really doesn't hurt it. It
- 16:16Speaker 1: could be one of the other fights that I'd be
- 16:18Speaker 1: more effective by. You still want to see, you know,
- 16:21Speaker 1: chicor going against a better fighter than what he's ultimately
- 16:24Speaker 1: sounds like he's going to. But yeah, I'm really excited
- 16:28Speaker 1: for the for the for the fight we can coming
- 16:31Speaker 1: up overall.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yeah, the you know, it's the big month. We were
- 16:36Speaker 3: talking about going into it. Now we're in the midst
- 16:38Speaker 3: of it, and we're getting to come. We're getting coming
- 16:44Speaker 3: on to not only the main event this weekend, but
- 16:47Speaker 3: the main event of the month, which is this card
- 16:50Speaker 3: on Saturday twenty second. But yeah, the Stevenson fight with Showfield.
- 16:54Speaker 3: That's current news that just fell out within the last
- 16:58Speaker 3: few hours. But I didn't see any scenario whatsoever where
- 17:03Speaker 3: that fight was going to be entertaining. I think where
- 17:07Speaker 3: it hurts is just, you know, a lot of these
- 17:10Speaker 3: Saudi cards haven't been high on us sensibilities. This one
- 17:13Speaker 3: you had or Tease fighting and then you had Showfield
- 17:17Speaker 3: and Stevenson. But now, oh, you may have Stevenson fighting
- 17:21Speaker 3: a lesser opponent. Not that Showfield was a legit contender
- 17:25Speaker 3: at this point anyway, but he was a prospect or
- 17:29Speaker 3: you may maybe they won't find anybody for him fight
- 17:32Speaker 3: and he won't be fighting. Now that's a bit of
- 17:34Speaker 3: a blow for the US sensibilities as it would just
- 17:36Speaker 3: leave or tease, and of course, you know in other
- 17:41Speaker 3: parts of the world not looking at as much. But
- 17:43Speaker 3: with all the the US drives in terms of viewership, money,
- 17:48Speaker 3: things like that, it's it's always got to be considered
- 17:51Speaker 3: a factor. So you know, I think it the stevens
- 17:56Speaker 3: In fight being detracted kind of as the event. It
- 17:59Speaker 3: hurts a bit for US sensibilities. But I didn't see
- 18:03Speaker 3: any way style wise that that fight was going to
- 18:06Speaker 3: be any good. I just could not see any scenario.
- 18:10Speaker 3: So in that sense, some of the detractors that are saying,
- 18:14Speaker 3: who really cares? I do kind of get that. But
- 18:16Speaker 3: the other side of that coin is like him or not.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I mean, Stevenson for this era has been getting decent
- 18:24Speaker 3: ratings in the US before going over the match room,
- 18:27Speaker 3: and certainly boxing in the US needs that. So even
- 18:30Speaker 3: in the fights that we were all complaining we're boring,
- 18:33Speaker 3: he was getting ratings relatively speaking, so the guys bringing
- 18:38Speaker 3: something that's legit, and he was an Olympian silver medalist,
- 18:40Speaker 3: So I think it does it does hurt this a
- 18:44Speaker 3: bit in the US.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a fair point. It was like the whitest
- 18:52Speaker 1: odds on the card, right, But that is true. It
- 18:56Speaker 1: is two Americans. But it's also true what you said
- 18:59Speaker 1: about the style. I could really see it being a sloppy,
- 19:02Speaker 1: sloppy fight where Shakoor is gonna get off some punches,
- 19:08Speaker 1: maybe like pot shot jab type stuff, but also just
- 19:11Speaker 1: getting smothered. And you know, because Schofield has that smothering
- 19:16Speaker 1: thing where sometimes he smothered kind of like a poor
- 19:19Speaker 1: man's sean porter when he was in transition, trying to
- 19:23Speaker 1: learn how to not smother his his own punches, you know,
- 19:26Speaker 1: but he kind of takes it to the extreme, although
- 19:29Speaker 1: I will say recently he did box pretty well.
- 19:32Speaker 2: But yeah, that's a good point.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It probably was gonna be, you know, a fairly like
- 19:38Speaker 1: contained fight or whatever. But there is something to be
- 19:42Speaker 1: said about, you know, a young, unbeaten fighter and and
- 19:45Speaker 1: how people would respond. And Shakoor, like you said, is
- 19:47Speaker 1: a very popular fighter, and you know, or you know,
- 19:51Speaker 1: somewhat popular, that's for sure from the US sensibility. So yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 1: that that does suck, and you know, feel's father, there's
- 20:01Speaker 1: something stuff he'll say it's just like, dude, what do
- 20:03Speaker 1: you you know? And all of a sudden, like he
- 20:07Speaker 1: got poisoned, you know, like s Court poisoned him, and.
- 20:11Speaker 2: It's just like, what are you doing?
- 20:12Speaker 1: Dude? I always and you don't have to comment on
- 20:15Speaker 1: any of this, but I ever since I've seen him
- 20:19Speaker 1: for these last few years, always be in the interview
- 20:23Speaker 1: with his son like he's a teenager or like he's
- 20:27Speaker 1: like fourteen or something. You know, it's like, let him
- 20:30Speaker 1: do his own interview, dude, Like, I don't know that.
- 20:33Speaker 1: There's just certain things that just troubled me about the guy.
- 20:38Speaker 1: But that doesn't help anything. And just to you know,
- 20:42Speaker 1: you better have some proof he was talking about like
- 20:44Speaker 1: the Barry Bonds cream and stuff like that. It's like,
- 20:47Speaker 1: now they're putting cream in your system. It kind of
- 20:49Speaker 1: sounds like you're making excuse like it just I don't know.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I guess we live in that time.
- 20:54Speaker 1: You know.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Well, I agree the way it played it, it is
- 20:58Speaker 3: a bit disturbing the way played it out. I agree,
- 21:01Speaker 3: because you know, you had apparently Shakurse Stevenson's saying on
- 21:06Speaker 3: a podcast with andre Ward that he thought that Schofield
- 21:11Speaker 3: didn't want to fight and he was going to pull out.
- 21:14Speaker 3: And yeah, you could say, well maybe Stevenson was hearing
- 21:17Speaker 3: word he was sick or something. And I saw some
- 21:19Speaker 3: people defending Schofield saying well, oh it's the British Board
- 21:22Speaker 3: of Boxing can control. But you know, look, boxing is
- 21:25Speaker 3: the most dangerous sport. If the guy says he's if
- 21:29Speaker 3: the guy says he's sick and he's reporting some symptoms
- 21:32Speaker 3: or something, and even if he goes to a local
- 21:35Speaker 3: er or something like that. Like I always say the
- 21:37Speaker 3: lawyer part of me, but it's legit. I mean, ill illnesses,
- 21:44Speaker 3: you know, are are not proven in court, you know,
- 21:47Speaker 3: even the Silver Realm without medical medical evidence and ultimately
- 21:52Speaker 3: medical testimony. You know, it doesn't go on just what
- 21:56Speaker 3: somebody says. So my mind's trained like that. But it
- 22:00Speaker 3: does apply to boxing really, I mean, the the comebacks
- 22:02Speaker 3: just still as well. They've got the right to keep
- 22:04Speaker 3: their medical stuff private. Yeah, but if you but what
- 22:09Speaker 3: then people throw out as evidence doesn't like convince me
- 22:13Speaker 3: as an attorney, you know, like I'm not saying he's
- 22:15Speaker 3: not sick either, but like then somebody says, oh the
- 22:19Speaker 3: British Border Box and control, Well what is the British
- 22:22Speaker 3: Border Box and Control going to say no, no, you're
- 22:25Speaker 3: really don't appear to be sick. You're you're going to
- 22:28Speaker 3: get in you know, you're going to get in there
- 22:29Speaker 3: in Saudi Arabian and fight anyway. I mean, you know,
- 22:33Speaker 3: come on, I mean, that's that's not going to happen either.
- 22:37Speaker 3: So the timing, you know, since Stevenson was already making
- 22:40Speaker 3: these comments, and like you said, Floyd Senior with the
- 22:43Speaker 3: strange comments that are certainly silly, makes you slightly wonder
- 22:52Speaker 3: if there is any truth to he got, you know,
- 22:56Speaker 3: intimidated at the last moment too big of a step up? Yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 3: cold feet about too big of a step up. I
- 23:02Speaker 3: would submit if that was the case. I'm not saying
- 23:06Speaker 3: it was. But where it might be mistaken is you know,
- 23:09Speaker 3: even though you're correct, Christ this was the really only
- 23:14Speaker 3: real big wide, not competitive according to the odds makers
- 23:18Speaker 3: fight on paper. I just saw it as a fight
- 23:22Speaker 3: that was going to be like so dull and with
- 23:24Speaker 3: so few punches landed that you know, Schofield does have
- 23:30Speaker 3: some skill and some talent. I wasn't going to pick
- 23:33Speaker 3: him or anything, but to me, it did have a
- 23:35Speaker 3: little bit of the fuel that kind of fight, like
- 23:38Speaker 3: maybe he just stays in there for the distance and
- 23:41Speaker 3: Stevens is not really landing much at all, which is
- 23:44Speaker 3: perfectly something he's perfectly capable of doing in a fight.
- 23:50Speaker 3: He's so defensive orient you know, defense oriented that you know,
- 23:53Speaker 3: maybe you steal, you know, maybe you got a no
- 23:56Speaker 3: crowd atmosphere there, that type of thing, and maybe you
- 24:00Speaker 3: maybe you steal a decision or something like that. I
- 24:03Speaker 3: wasn't gonna pick him, but you know, in that sense.
- 24:06Speaker 3: In other words, it's not like he was taking a
- 24:09Speaker 3: huge step up that might be over his head against
- 24:12Speaker 3: some murderous puncher, right yeah, like you know, he's fighting tank.
- 24:16Speaker 3: He's fighting tank. Let's face it, not even to say
- 24:19Speaker 3: how Stevenson a tank matchup, but it's not. It's not
- 24:22Speaker 3: something like that he's taking a massive step up and
- 24:24Speaker 3: guy's gonna blow him out and right, you know around
- 24:27Speaker 3: if he's not ready or something like that. I don't
- 24:29Speaker 3: think we were dealing with that here, but you know,
- 24:32Speaker 3: we'll see. He could just be sick too. On the
- 24:34Speaker 3: other hand, everything can't be a conspiracy, and sometimes that's
- 24:39Speaker 3: that's just what happens. I mean, people get sick, obviously,
- 24:41Speaker 3: he could have gotten sick over there, so well, well,
- 24:45Speaker 3: who knows, but we're gonna lose one fight of interest,
- 24:47Speaker 3: I guess we we would have to say that.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Yeah, luckily there is plenty of other ones that go around.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yeah, luckily we got a lot.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, before we get into it, let's start with tish
- 25:00Speaker 1: on Davis and some of the action on that undercard.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Keyshawn delivered again.
- 25:07Speaker 1: You know, he didn't really take his time in this one.
- 25:11Speaker 1: He actually got to it pretty quick. What'd you think
- 25:14Speaker 1: of the headliner? And then we can talk about Zaiaz
- 25:18Speaker 1: and and Vito and whatnot.
- 25:21Speaker 3: It was a kind of a classic where you know,
- 25:23Speaker 3: Keyshawn Davis, as I've been saying in recent years and
- 25:26Speaker 3: especially with top rank, now we know that deal is
- 25:28Speaker 3: going to end, you're running out of your view, your
- 25:32Speaker 3: opportunities for exposure on that deal. It's in New York,
- 25:36Speaker 3: key Shawnavid Davis understood the assignment and you know, got
- 25:40Speaker 3: him out of it in four rounds. He was a
- 25:42Speaker 3: heavy favorite. Even though people were talking up the fight,
- 25:45Speaker 3: the odds makers weren't that sold on the matchup. You know,
- 25:50Speaker 3: Keyshawn was a big favorite, but he he took care
- 25:53Speaker 3: of business as a big favorite again you know, forget
- 25:55Speaker 3: the alphabet belt, but against a guy in Baranschick who
- 25:58Speaker 3: was at least like a legitimate bottom part of the
- 26:01Speaker 3: top ten light lightweight and tender, I got him out
- 26:05Speaker 3: of there. So I thought, Davis, you know, LOOKO did
- 26:07Speaker 3: everything he needed to do. But you just have to
- 26:11Speaker 3: say it because we saw the fight. I mean, that
- 26:14Speaker 3: was a dreadful effort from Branchick. I mean, you know
- 26:17Speaker 3: a guy has amateur pedigree, silver medallist, you know, undefeated
- 26:23Speaker 3: as a pro, but hadn't looked that great. You know,
- 26:25Speaker 3: got by Navarete. I wasn't underdog, fair decision, but wasn't
- 26:32Speaker 3: a dominant decision. I could have seen a case of
- 26:34Speaker 3: naverrete in that. And and Branchick hasn't looked a good
- 26:37Speaker 3: in his other fights. He doesn't bring any pop, and
- 26:40Speaker 3: you know in the pro game, thirty six years old,
- 26:44Speaker 3: but still with his amateur pedigree, at least coming off
- 26:49Speaker 3: a win against Navarete, you expected more. And I that
- 26:55Speaker 3: that really that was a that was a poor effort.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I mean that that looked like a guy who knew
- 27:00Speaker 3: he was thirty six years old and was like they
- 27:03Speaker 3: decided this is going to be the top of the
- 27:05Speaker 3: mountain of paydays for me. And uh, okay, you know
- 27:10Speaker 3: I'm getting I'm getting hurt to the body here a bit.
- 27:14Speaker 3: That that's you know that that's enough Davis. No fault
- 27:18Speaker 3: of Davis. He did what he needed to do, and hey,
- 27:21Speaker 3: the guy guy wasn't enjoying getting hitto the body go
- 27:25Speaker 3: back down there and it ended it. But h Davis
- 27:29Speaker 3: understood the assignment, got it done. But but do have
- 27:32Speaker 3: to say where you have to call it and you
- 27:33Speaker 3: see it. That was a that was a terrible effort
- 27:35Speaker 3: from Branchick.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true. That is true.
- 27:39Speaker 1: He didn't really show many of the skills that he
- 27:41Speaker 1: had shown against an.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Aggressive fighter in his last fighter.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Or even like yeah, barely was. He wasn't moving well
- 27:51Speaker 1: when he did get hit. He kind of just you
- 27:54Speaker 1: know that first knockdown.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the first knockdown. I mean they were saying, yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 3: the body shot. He just kind of like folded over
- 28:01Speaker 3: down the first one already.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Kind of low as it was, and.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Then you know, you know, you never know, we're not
- 28:08Speaker 3: in the ring, we're not feeling it. But the second
- 28:11Speaker 3: one was like he got hit with a body shot,
- 28:13Speaker 3: like it was like he got hit, you know, but
- 28:15Speaker 3: it was just kind of again you you never know,
- 28:17Speaker 3: you're not in the body. But putting that together with
- 28:20Speaker 3: the one he went down with from the first time,
- 28:23Speaker 3: you know, you feel a little more comfortable. He's just saying, like,
- 28:27Speaker 3: just look like a body shit, you know, look like
- 28:29Speaker 3: a body shot. And fight was, fight was over. And
- 28:33Speaker 3: he didn't land any punches significance, really didn't didn't really
- 28:36Speaker 3: even throw any punches. Just he's not a puncher. But
- 28:41Speaker 3: still that's one of those ones again, like I say,
- 28:43Speaker 3: where I really and give a bad grade on the
- 28:48Speaker 3: report card is like when I see a fighter with
- 28:52Speaker 3: their skill set fighting in a way that there's no
- 28:55Speaker 3: way for them to win. Like in other words, you know,
- 28:57Speaker 3: Bransha can't punch's he's not knocking Keyshon Davis out with
- 29:02Speaker 3: one shot late or hurting him later in the fight
- 29:04Speaker 3: or picking it up. So what's the plan? You know,
- 29:07Speaker 3: even though we're only four rounds in, what what was
- 29:10Speaker 3: the plan for victory? You know, it's more like he's
- 29:13Speaker 3: just there and there is no plan. There is no
- 29:15Speaker 3: real plan for victory. So but Keyshon Davis, you know,
- 29:19Speaker 3: you give him an a for understanding assignment, not letting
- 29:23Speaker 3: Branchick hang around and you know, taking advantage of the
- 29:27Speaker 3: chance to shine and upping his stock. So the other
- 29:31Speaker 3: side of it for him, you know, he gets he
- 29:33Speaker 3: gets an A for what he did.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Yeah. I really thought at least the first two rounds,
- 29:39Speaker 1: that maybe even three, that you know, Branchick would win
- 29:42Speaker 1: two out of three or whatever. It really thought he'd
- 29:44Speaker 1: come up with a jab and some busy work and right,
- 29:47Speaker 1: you know, but yeah, he was barely Yeah, he just
- 29:50Speaker 1: wasn't moving well. He just I don't know, man, It's
- 29:52Speaker 1: just it's crazy how you can just fall off like
- 29:56Speaker 1: that as far as, like you said, overall performance. But
- 30:02Speaker 1: you know, we don't want to take any away from
- 30:04Speaker 1: Davis because, like you said, he saw what was in
- 30:06Speaker 1: front of him and he really wasn't hesitant. Took him out.
- 30:10Speaker 1: And now you know, they do have Martaya and the
- 30:14Speaker 1: guy he's fighting abdu Leva or something like that. Uh,
- 30:19Speaker 1: there's Andy Kruz in there, and then obviously Javonte Davis.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You know, I don't think Davis is next, but I
- 30:28Speaker 1: sure would hope that they keep stepping him up because I, like,
- 30:32Speaker 1: you know, it's only his thirteen fight John, and I
- 30:35Speaker 1: do like how they've stepped him up, especially recently really
- 30:38Speaker 1: after that Pejraza fight. So hopefully maybe he get the
- 30:44Speaker 1: winner of that fight that's supposed to happen and just
- 30:46Speaker 1: been a couple of months, and then they'd be basically
- 30:49Speaker 1: on the same timeline.
- 30:51Speaker 2: What are your what are your thoughts in general?
- 30:53Speaker 3: Uh, you know where he could go because well I liked,
- 30:56Speaker 3: you know, as I've said, with all these fighters and
- 30:58Speaker 3: Keishawon Davis included, and then fight kind of fit that.
- 31:01Speaker 3: You know, he was a heavy favorite. But it's still
- 31:04Speaker 3: at least we're getting into the contender ranks. Like you know,
- 31:08Speaker 3: let's let's just stop this the stay busy stuff and
- 31:10Speaker 3: the showcase and let's just you know, accelerate the careers.
- 31:15Speaker 3: These guys are ready. Let's let's you know, keep keep
- 31:19Speaker 3: the top matchups. Like this isn't a good example, like
- 31:22Speaker 3: we don't want to see now. We feel like Davis
- 31:24Speaker 3: is stepping up, as you said, you know, let's not
- 31:28Speaker 3: have a no hoper and then say, oh, he's making
- 31:30Speaker 3: an appearance or these alphabet fans say like, well, he's
- 31:33Speaker 3: got the right to make a defense of his title,
- 31:36Speaker 3: you know, like I mean no, you know, you got
- 31:39Speaker 3: all these other guys in the division. Nobody's looking at
- 31:41Speaker 3: him as as the champ. I mean, so keep stepping
- 31:44Speaker 3: it up, you know, you keep keep stepping it up
- 31:48Speaker 3: market yourself the same way by beating at least some
- 31:54Speaker 3: some credible opponents, and you know, keep it going. Let's
- 31:58Speaker 3: not let's not stall out here. So you know, I
- 32:02Speaker 3: don't know, I'm guessing when you look at where the time,
- 32:05Speaker 3: and this would apply to a guy like Davis. You
- 32:07Speaker 3: look at like when the top rank ESPN deal is
- 32:10Speaker 3: going to end, it's not going to go through the
- 32:12Speaker 3: whole summer. But in recent years, you know, before football
- 32:17Speaker 3: gets in full force in the US, top ranks kind
- 32:21Speaker 3: of accelerated some shows in the summer months to fill
- 32:24Speaker 3: programming for ESPN. So just saying, if you want to
- 32:27Speaker 3: be optimistic, Aaron in top rank should try to get
- 32:31Speaker 3: these guys if they're really looking ahead, try to get them,
- 32:34Speaker 3: even though it's on a network they're leaving, but you
- 32:36Speaker 3: want the exposure, you know, so try to get get
- 32:40Speaker 3: these guys like Davis back one more time against a
- 32:44Speaker 3: good opponent. I mean, marketing wise, future wise, that's what
- 32:47Speaker 3: I would do I'm not saying they're going to do it,
- 32:49Speaker 3: but get them on there before the deal ends one
- 32:53Speaker 3: more time, it would be would be you know, a
- 32:58Speaker 3: good next step.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, because I mean he didn't have a you know,
- 33:02Speaker 1: some sort of brutal.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Fight or something like that.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, he could definitely come back by the summer.
- 33:10Speaker 2: What do you think of Xander's eyes?
- 33:12Speaker 1: And by the way, that's what we talked about body
- 33:15Speaker 1: shot when he landed that body shot and it was like,
- 33:18Speaker 1: you know, he turned out and now that you can
- 33:20Speaker 1: see her, you know what I mean? I thought, But
- 33:23Speaker 1: what do you think because for a while I thought
- 33:25Speaker 1: he looked pretty good early then Spoemer had some had
- 33:29Speaker 1: some you know, had some success.
- 33:31Speaker 2: But I think just the body.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Work over all was just h It didn't seem like
- 33:36Speaker 1: this guy was on his level because he landed like
- 33:39Speaker 1: the stat was like some kind of crazy like forty
- 33:42Speaker 1: nine to three.
- 33:43Speaker 2: To the body or something like that. Well, what'd you
- 33:46Speaker 2: think of this.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Spomer wasn't that good? That's why you know, Broy Jones
- 33:50Speaker 3: in the corner. They kept trying to emphasize that because
- 33:53Speaker 3: that too much else of a storyline there, and he
- 33:56Speaker 3: hasn't beaten anybody. But I do think even though Baranchik
- 34:01Speaker 3: much more accomplished, Like you look at those the two fights.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I mean, I think Spoehmer was trying to fight. He
- 34:07Speaker 3: was trying to hang in there more. I think the
- 34:10Speaker 3: stoppage might have been Prematurely, I think he was legitimately,
- 34:14Speaker 3: I don't think he was acting. I think he was
- 34:15Speaker 3: legitimately kind of protesting it right when it got stopped,
- 34:18Speaker 3: like I think he was ready to continue. So stoppage
- 34:22Speaker 3: was a little quick. You know, Zia's got the KO,
- 34:25Speaker 3: but it was late, and like with the stoppage, I
- 34:28Speaker 3: did think was a little premature. I kind of I
- 34:31Speaker 3: like Zia's you know, when he was a teenager coming up.
- 34:34Speaker 3: I'm more in the camp that something seems to have
- 34:37Speaker 3: leveled off for me with him, because even though he's
- 34:40Speaker 3: still young, early twenties, he's had enough fights it shouldn't matter,
- 34:46Speaker 3: It really shouldn't matter at this point. So I feel
- 34:50Speaker 3: like something's leveled off there with him. And I felt
- 34:53Speaker 3: that again in this fight, like really as he's just
- 34:57Speaker 3: stepped it up just slightly, not even real big steps,
- 35:00Speaker 3: like the fights are less entertaining. He generally doesn't seem
- 35:04Speaker 3: to be hurting the opponents, and you know, we're kind
- 35:07Speaker 3: of grinding it out, and he looks okay but doesn't
- 35:11Speaker 3: really wally you and he to me seems leveled off.
- 35:15Speaker 3: I'm really not that high on him at this point.
- 35:20Speaker 3: I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but it's not
- 35:22Speaker 3: that he's got some talent. But I'm not really all
- 35:26Speaker 3: that high on him. It just it stayed kind of
- 35:30Speaker 3: where it's at to me now for too many fights,
- 35:33Speaker 3: and it does He's starting to almost get to look
- 35:36Speaker 3: like where if he really steps it up against somebody tough,
- 35:39Speaker 3: he's gonna have trouble.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because to your point, he's that was his twenty
- 35:44Speaker 1: first fight twenty one to oh, like you said, the
- 35:48Speaker 1: guy Spoemer did come to fight, no doubt about that,
- 35:53Speaker 1: but he wasn't you know, he just wasn't on the
- 35:54Speaker 1: same level or even really bad. Right, You're it? So
- 35:58Speaker 1: you got to give the guy credit because I agree,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I would have liked to see the fight go on
- 36:02Speaker 1: more so he could actually earn the stoppage because he
- 36:05Speaker 1: was well on his way to it.
- 36:07Speaker 3: He still might have stopped him.
- 36:08Speaker 1: But yeah, because that, I mean, the body numbers are
- 36:12Speaker 1: just like, oh, my gosh, like, how much more can
- 36:14Speaker 1: this guy take? And even when he slumped over, he
- 36:17Speaker 1: stayed up, you know. Yeah, so yeah, he was really
- 36:19Speaker 1: going for it. But I agree. And then you know
- 36:23Speaker 1: one p. Fifty four now you know, is in the
- 36:26Speaker 1: it's kind of in the mix, but it has been
- 36:28Speaker 1: reloaded now too, So it's like, how many of the
- 36:32Speaker 1: top five or six guys would you favor him against?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Exactly? Exactly. And he's at a point where, right, you know,
- 36:39Speaker 3: with the amount of fights he's had and the talent
- 36:41Speaker 3: he showed early on that you thought he might have had, right,
- 36:45Speaker 3: he should be ready where, you know, to fight at
- 36:49Speaker 3: somebody at that level where you know, you might think
- 36:51Speaker 3: he's got a chance to win. But I'm with you.
- 36:53Speaker 3: You just don't feel like if he stepped it up
- 36:55Speaker 3: to that level, that he's going to be able to
- 36:57Speaker 3: handle somebody like that.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I think we've seen, like you said, I think
- 37:02Speaker 1: we've seen him kind of top out. Obviously. You know,
- 37:05Speaker 1: once in a while you do get a fighter that
- 37:08Speaker 1: just fights at the level of you know, the competition.
- 37:10Speaker 1: But I don't think that's that applies because we've seen
- 37:14Speaker 1: him against lesser and it's I don't know, he just.
- 37:18Speaker 2: I've seen too many holes in it.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:21Speaker 3: It's kind of funny because it fits Steven Espinosa, even
- 37:23Speaker 3: though of course he would be biased for guys he's
- 37:25Speaker 3: involved with. Somewhere I saw on X he did chime
- 37:28Speaker 3: in and he said, give this guy Brian Mendoza next,
- 37:32Speaker 3: and Brian Mendoza beats the beats the so we have
- 37:37Speaker 3: we have an opinion there. Maybe biased, but you throw
- 37:41Speaker 3: it out a guy, you know, Mendoza who has cracked
- 37:43Speaker 3: the top ten before and yeah, you know, flip back,
- 37:47Speaker 3: but is a tough guy, you know, yea Spinosa saying
- 37:53Speaker 3: he feels, you know, put him in with Zias that
- 37:56Speaker 3: he'll he'll handles Aias at this point.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I could see that. I could see that,
- 38:01Speaker 1: And it's kind of some of these guys, and we
- 38:05Speaker 1: see it in boxing all the time. We just happen
- 38:07Speaker 1: to be talking about top rank right now, but you know,
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's it kind of it seems like these guys just
- 38:13Speaker 1: run their course and they never really get the big fight.
- 38:17Speaker 1: And it's like, well, you didn't now he's not ready
- 38:19Speaker 1: for the big fight, because you.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Know, right, yeah, you could you could at least got
- 38:24Speaker 3: some interest putting him in a tougher fight where we
- 38:27Speaker 3: all see it on ESPN, and all right, maybe if
- 38:29Speaker 3: it gets upset, at least it's a good fight or
- 38:31Speaker 3: something like that, you might.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Have the winner, you might have created someone that you
- 38:37Speaker 1: can Yeah.
- 38:39Speaker 3: That's been the problem that has It's what they're saying.
- 38:41Speaker 3: What it ended up being eight years that that was
- 38:43Speaker 3: a big part of the problem with the top ranked deal.
- 38:45Speaker 3: It just kept like not leading. It just kept not
- 38:48Speaker 3: leading to anything. You seemed like in these different divisions
- 38:51Speaker 3: where like it might lead to something and they talked
- 38:54Speaker 3: about it or they signed somebody, and then it just
- 38:57Speaker 3: never led to it never let led to anything.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like they're just great at signing protects, moving them.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Some of them turned into the buggy man. And then
- 39:07Speaker 1: it's like, okay, now what you know, And it's like
- 39:10Speaker 1: that wasn't the case years ago, of course, but in
- 39:14Speaker 1: recent years and in this deal, it's it's kind of
- 39:16Speaker 1: been like that. Yeah, they've had some good weight classes
- 39:19Speaker 1: and all that one thirty they got a lot of action,
- 39:23Speaker 1: but I don't know, man, it's kind of kind of disappointing.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And then even though one's sixty doesn't have much still
- 39:30Speaker 1: he'd be going up there.
- 39:31Speaker 2: He's not going up there with a ton of power
- 39:33Speaker 2: or something like that.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I mean, maybe you could say in the top ten
- 39:37Speaker 1: he would beat someone more than fifty four. But I
- 39:40Speaker 1: don't know, Yeah, I don't know what you think of
- 39:42Speaker 1: the Veto fight or some of the other stuff.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Two the other two that they showed, you know, the
- 39:48Speaker 3: matchups going in. Although the mill Necky he was I
- 39:51Speaker 3: think he was like a minus two to ninety favorite
- 39:53Speaker 3: going in her Son it wasn't really you know, he
- 39:57Speaker 3: wasn't a huge favor or anything. He was a favorite,
- 40:00Speaker 3: but you had that in Mason, but talk about mil
- 40:02Speaker 3: Necky first, even though you could have had even maybe
- 40:05Speaker 3: better matchups. Though the mil Necky fight turned out to
- 40:08Speaker 3: be a good fight. I did like there though, because
- 40:12Speaker 3: we're just kind of being critical of it, but I
- 40:13Speaker 3: did like I thought there was a little bit of
- 40:15Speaker 3: a wake up call for top rank. This was the
- 40:19Speaker 3: first time with mil Necky, but maybe the second or
- 40:23Speaker 3: third time with Mason where they said, like, these are
- 40:26Speaker 3: guys that have to be on our main ESPN part
- 40:29Speaker 3: of the card where people are going to see it.
- 40:32Speaker 3: You know, obviously from some marketing sensibilities. But I agreed
- 40:36Speaker 3: with that. I mean, we want matchups, but from the
- 40:38Speaker 3: marketing sensibility point, I like that because one thing, you know,
- 40:42Speaker 3: I've mentioned this quite a few times and I think
- 40:44Speaker 3: it's worth mentioning again because this was a little bit
- 40:46Speaker 3: of a remedy to that, you know, miil Nicki. I
- 40:50Speaker 3: was skeptical going in, but they they had him headlining
- 40:54Speaker 3: with Spencer against different opponents but card from Prudential Center
- 40:58Speaker 3: in Jersey on Christmas Night, which I thought that that's stupid,
- 41:01Speaker 3: that's going to be a suicide move. And it got
- 41:03Speaker 3: over two million viewers on Fox on night, and then
- 41:06Speaker 3: you saw all these other sports start to jump into
- 41:08Speaker 3: Christmas Night war. I don't I don't think that was
- 41:11Speaker 3: a complete coincidence. You know, he had the NBA before that,
- 41:14Speaker 3: but well Box is like at BBC, like we'll throw
- 41:16Speaker 3: us the boxers on like at Box at Christmas Night,
- 41:19Speaker 3: and that was like one of the highest ratings PBC
- 41:21Speaker 3: got on Fox so at some time. And but then
- 41:25Speaker 3: like he was fighting after that, like PBC you know,
- 41:29Speaker 3: had him on like the ut tube portion of the
- 41:31Speaker 3: card and stuff, and I'm not here even like addressing
- 41:36Speaker 3: an ability issue I'm just saying, like, I'm not trying
- 41:38Speaker 3: to go pro and con on Milnecki's potential in this discussion,
- 41:42Speaker 3: But you're saying, like, from a marketing perspective, like a
- 41:46Speaker 3: guy just got seen by over two million people in
- 41:49Speaker 3: his homes, you know, on TV fault in his home state.
- 41:51Speaker 3: They had a decent crowd, and then like you're you know,
- 41:54Speaker 3: then he's like spending the next couple of years on
- 41:57Speaker 3: like the YouTube portion of you know, show time cards
- 42:01Speaker 3: and stuff. So he finally goes over the top rank
- 42:04Speaker 3: and they've got him on the ESPN Plus. And I'm
- 42:06Speaker 3: just thinking, again abilities aside, I'm like, this dude's drawn
- 42:10Speaker 3: over two billion on Fox. You know it's in the
- 42:13Speaker 3: US right now. There's a huge value to that. So
- 42:16Speaker 3: it felt to me like with this fight, like somebody
- 42:18Speaker 3: on top rank, all of a sudden, the light bulb
- 42:20Speaker 3: went off, like, hey, you know, we got to put
- 42:23Speaker 3: this guy on the ESPN portion, give him somebody that
- 42:28Speaker 3: we can sell it a little bit, or maybe it'll
- 42:30Speaker 3: be decent fight. And that was this Coil guy who
- 42:32Speaker 3: was undefeated but who had fought nobody and he's in
- 42:35Speaker 3: his mid thirties but turned out to be a good fight.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Noil Nicky. I think he has legitimately looked better with
- 42:41Speaker 3: Ronnie Shields in his corner over the last few fights,
- 42:45Speaker 3: even though he had one bad outing recently which he
- 42:47Speaker 3: admitted was terrible. But I think generally he's looked better
- 42:50Speaker 3: with Shields, and he apparently, you know, sparred with Jamal
- 42:57Speaker 3: you know, was sparring with you know, Jamal Charlow a lot.
- 43:01Speaker 3: When he went over to Ronnie Shields, I thought, he,
- 43:05Speaker 3: you know, he's better with his left hook. Now. I
- 43:08Speaker 3: thought he won the fight. I was surprised at the
- 43:13Speaker 3: majority draw. I thought he won it. I mean, I
- 43:17Speaker 3: thought he clearly won the fight. That it really did
- 43:20Speaker 3: surprise me. So I thought that was kind of a
- 43:21Speaker 3: tough break for him, because outside of how good Coil
- 43:27Speaker 3: really is, which you know, he's probably just really a
- 43:29Speaker 3: glorified club fighter type guy. I thought he won the fight.
- 43:34Speaker 3: It was a good fight for some people see him
- 43:36Speaker 3: on decent action. Hopefully that draw won't set him back
- 43:40Speaker 3: too much. But I do think from the marketing perspective,
- 43:43Speaker 3: I thought, at least top rank got it that you
- 43:46Speaker 3: had a guy you're sitting on who has had a
- 43:49Speaker 3: viewership of over two million a few years back on Fox.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Let's let's try to build on that.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Guy controls opening underguards too, right, He'd be the opener
- 43:58Speaker 1: a couple of times.
- 44:00Speaker 3: So I thought that was good. And then you know,
- 44:02Speaker 3: you had a Dolla Mason, who I like a lot.
- 44:04Speaker 3: He also had one little bit of a stumble where
- 44:07Speaker 3: you know, he had those knockdowns in that fight, recently
- 44:10Speaker 3: came back to you know, still score his typical ko.
- 44:13Speaker 3: He didn't look like he was hurt to me and
- 44:15Speaker 3: either of those knockdowns in that fight, and you know,
- 44:19Speaker 3: people were then kind of raving about this performance. Rightfully so,
- 44:22Speaker 3: but you know, I've had that kind of belief in
- 44:25Speaker 3: Mason for a while. You know, I think he's ready
- 44:27Speaker 3: for a contender, even at age twenty. You know, he's
- 44:31Speaker 3: just ready. He also understood the assignment looked real good.
- 44:35Speaker 3: I think he's ready for a contender. But even though
- 44:37Speaker 3: top ranks in the last months now this deal, I
- 44:39Speaker 3: think marketing wise, that's also a guy you wanted to
- 44:42Speaker 3: get out there. So I think that it's late in
- 44:46Speaker 3: the deal. But getting Neil Nicky and Mason some exposure
- 44:50Speaker 3: on ESPN, I thought was at least a smart marketing move.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and actually I remember they flashed the punch stats
- 44:58Speaker 1: in that Veto fight, and you know, I thought he
- 45:01Speaker 1: won the opening round. But I will say like rounds
- 45:04Speaker 1: two to four was competitive, and then when they flashed
- 45:06Speaker 1: the punch that, I was like, yeah, that was pretty close.
- 45:09Speaker 1: But then it was like fourteen to one, and like
- 45:12Speaker 1: he really started piling it on more. So I agree.
- 45:16Speaker 1: I thought that I thought he did enough to win.
- 45:19Speaker 1: There was some rumors, I think this one comes from
- 45:22Speaker 1: the Boxing Voice that at Dulah Mason would fight Giovanni
- 45:27Speaker 1: Cabrera in his first ten rounder. Whether that's true or not,
- 45:32Speaker 1: I don't know, but you know, like you said, it
- 45:36Speaker 1: would be nice for him, you know, to have a
- 45:38Speaker 1: step up and keep going because he Yeah, I didn't
- 45:42Speaker 1: make too much of that those knockdowns either. You know,
- 45:45Speaker 1: he got caught in an exchange, right, but he also
- 45:49Speaker 1: got up. You know, he did get you know, he
- 45:51Speaker 1: did get knocked down again, but like he got up
- 45:54Speaker 1: and finished him.
- 45:55Speaker 2: And it wasn't like it took him a bunch of.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Time, you know.
- 45:57Speaker 3: No, he just didn't look real hurd or anything. You know,
- 46:00Speaker 3: it wasn't anything I really detracted from him much like
- 46:04Speaker 3: some people to me, you know, in the last Transnational
- 46:10Speaker 3: you know review of the rankings. You know, I submitted
- 46:14Speaker 3: I think he should be at ten. You know, I
- 46:15Speaker 3: would put him in at ten. People weren't a green yet,
- 46:18Speaker 3: but I would. You know, I would have him. I
- 46:22Speaker 3: would have him in at ten already.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Any other things from that car, Jared Anderson looked pretty mediocre.
- 46:29Speaker 3: Yeah, he did. You know. That's the thing. It's kind
- 46:31Speaker 3: of it seems almost inconsistent with what I said because
- 46:35Speaker 3: from the marketing perspective, and you only got so much time.
- 46:38Speaker 3: I liked meil Nicky and Mason being on the main
- 46:41Speaker 3: ESPN card, but I don't see how with the dearth
- 46:45Speaker 3: of US heavyweights, even with Anderson coming off the terrible
- 46:49Speaker 3: performance with Maccoley. I thought Bob hum in a funny way,
- 46:55Speaker 3: was talking sense afterward after the Pacoli disaster, where he said, look,
- 47:00Speaker 3: you know what, we'll bring him back. People forget about
- 47:02Speaker 3: and I thought, you know, the way boxing is in
- 47:04Speaker 3: the US now, a lot of people wouldn't have even
- 47:08Speaker 3: seen that Saudi card. I'm not saying you lie about
- 47:10Speaker 3: it or take it out of his story, but I mean,
- 47:12Speaker 3: you really could just put him right back on ESPN,
- 47:14Speaker 3: and I think no pun intended with the nickname, but
- 47:18Speaker 3: don't baby him, you know, Okay, he got stopped, but
- 47:21Speaker 3: put him in with the real you put him in
- 47:22Speaker 3: with a real opponent. We don't need to go backwards.
- 47:25Speaker 3: But they didn't do that, and they've got him on
- 47:26Speaker 3: the ESPN Plus part where you got much less viewership
- 47:31Speaker 3: earlier on you know, in the evening, at the beginning
- 47:36Speaker 3: of the evening, and like that, that to me was
- 47:37Speaker 3: a head scratcher. Now you look terrible. Clearly won the fight,
- 47:41Speaker 3: but look terrible, but still like same type of thing,
- 47:44Speaker 3: like okay, if he would have fought somebody better who
- 47:47Speaker 3: you knew, and he lost, Like you and I were talking,
- 47:50Speaker 3: like and apparently he's going to get a good fight
- 47:53Speaker 3: against Torres. But like you and I were saying, so
- 47:56Speaker 3: we were on the right track. We were like, well,
- 47:58Speaker 3: put Anderson with Vannel, you know, put him in with Vonello.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Top ranks got l Like you know, Vanello has been
- 48:04Speaker 3: fighting great, but we don't need the guy going backwards
- 48:06Speaker 3: just as he's got one loss. I mean, you know,
- 48:09Speaker 3: then there's all people on X and stuff and social
- 48:12Speaker 3: media clutching their pearls like, well, you had to bring
- 48:14Speaker 3: Anderson back, you know, saft he just had to Well,
- 48:18Speaker 3: but you know, what's the point? I mean, what's the point?
- 48:21Speaker 3: And then nobody's singing it, and then he's he's got
- 48:23Speaker 3: detractors barking at him anyway because they don't like what
- 48:27Speaker 3: he's saying in the corner, and he doesn't look good.
- 48:29Speaker 1: So he's sitting there having an ongoing debate, like it's
- 48:32Speaker 1: a debate teamer. So I was like, did just listen
- 48:35Speaker 1: to your trainer a little bit?
- 48:37Speaker 3: But that's the problem with being in a fight like that,
- 48:39Speaker 3: you know, Like, so yeah, I did catch you know,
- 48:42Speaker 3: I caught a lot of the action last weekend, and
- 48:46Speaker 3: I thought that was just sad because US heavyweight division
- 48:50Speaker 3: is in such bad shape. But so now I would.
- 48:53Speaker 3: But but if Torres really is going to fight v
- 48:56Speaker 3: and l O next, that would be good. Get that
- 48:59Speaker 3: on ESPN before the deal's over. That's the type of
- 49:01Speaker 3: thing I'm talking about. But that's a really good fight,
- 49:03Speaker 3: I mean, like the way Vanella's fought the last couple
- 49:06Speaker 3: of fights. I mean, if Torres gets by that, you know,
- 49:09Speaker 3: people are gonna take him a lot more seriously. But
- 49:12Speaker 3: he hasn't looked that great, so like, you know, he
- 49:14Speaker 3: needs that too because he hasn't looked that great. It's like, look,
- 49:18Speaker 3: you know, if we we don't want to see him
- 49:19Speaker 3: against some guy with fourteen fourteen losses again or whatever
- 49:23Speaker 3: who he you know, gets out of it, gets the
- 49:26Speaker 3: guy out of there to fourth round or something and
- 49:28Speaker 3: the guy's not even resisting. I mean, what's that going
- 49:31Speaker 3: to do? So that's that's down the road. But it
- 49:37Speaker 3: applies to Anderson in a sense, like even though Anderson
- 49:40Speaker 3: just lost to Bacolie, shouldn't they he been in that
- 49:42Speaker 3: type of fight, I mean, instead of just in this
- 49:44Speaker 3: ESPN plus undercard fighting fighting an unknown and not looking
- 49:50Speaker 3: good doing it. That that that was sad to me.
- 49:52Speaker 3: That was sad.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Yeah. On the underguard, Yeah, I don't know what do you? Oh? Yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 1: So Catterall and Barbosa, the scorecards were all close, seven
- 50:07Speaker 1: to five, you know, two to one for Barbosa, there
- 50:12Speaker 1: were like two I think it was the let me look,
- 50:15Speaker 1: fifth and seventh round. Even the first round, but the
- 50:19Speaker 1: fifth and seventh round were pretty much swing rounds. I
- 50:22Speaker 1: thought the first handful of rounds were really slow. Then
- 50:26Speaker 1: it started picking up a little bit. Neither guy really
- 50:30Speaker 1: you know, let their hands go until later in the fight.
- 50:34Speaker 1: How'd you see this one? How'd you score it?
- 50:37Speaker 3: I thought I thought that that. I thought it was
- 50:40Speaker 3: the right outcome, the right scoring. Neither. It kind of
- 50:47Speaker 3: didn't surprise me in the sense that, like I felt
- 50:50Speaker 3: like with this matchup, here's two guys that you know,
- 50:53Speaker 3: really aren't great punchers. You know, Barboza will throw, but
- 50:57Speaker 3: he's not a puncher at all, and you know Catterall
- 51:00Speaker 3: is not a big puncher. So you know that's where
- 51:04Speaker 3: you get something like that. You know, Barbosa just you know,
- 51:08Speaker 3: is a little more on the gas. He gets a
- 51:10Speaker 3: win because you know Catterall is not going to take
- 51:12Speaker 3: him out. He's not going to take Catterall out. But
- 51:15Speaker 3: even though with what's at one hundred and forty pounds
- 51:18Speaker 3: right now, you know, Barbosa is like legitimately contenderwise at
- 51:22Speaker 3: the top. But I'm not critical of that when you
- 51:25Speaker 3: look who else is there. But I'm not even at
- 51:30Speaker 3: this point. I'm good win, you know, real good win
- 51:33Speaker 3: on the road. But I'm just still not that high
- 51:35Speaker 3: on Barbosa with what he brings. I mean, he's kind
- 51:38Speaker 3: of like one of those guys. He does everything okay
- 51:40Speaker 3: except except punch, and you know he'll he'll throw. He'll
- 51:43Speaker 3: definitely throw. He's in his career's out hustled a lot
- 51:47Speaker 3: of guys. But like, he's just the type of guy
- 51:50Speaker 3: to me, like when he's in with a puncher that
- 51:53Speaker 3: that's got it, who can legitimately punch, who's got decent skills,
- 51:58Speaker 3: he's gonna have problems because he's not gonna he's not
- 52:01Speaker 3: hurting anybody, and he's going to be at a big
- 52:04Speaker 3: artillery disadvantage. So you can think of people who fit
- 52:08Speaker 3: that bill, and that's to me always going to be
- 52:11Speaker 3: a problem for Barbosa. But you know, good good win
- 52:14Speaker 3: for him, and you know, tough loss for Caterall. But
- 52:19Speaker 3: I think it was I think it was a fair result.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it could go either way. I would
- 52:25Speaker 1: have been fine with the draw. Obviously, Barboza was busier
- 52:30Speaker 1: more consistently, and that's where the swing rounds coming sometime
- 52:35Speaker 1: where Caterall would land some.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Big shots, but it was just kind of far.
- 52:40Speaker 1: And few and but you know, too many gaps where
- 52:43Speaker 1: you're just like, dude, if you're gonna look for this
- 52:45Speaker 1: perfect shot, we see that with fighters a lot where
- 52:48Speaker 1: they're trying to make, you know, land one big punch,
- 52:52Speaker 1: and if they don't do it, or if they just
- 52:55Speaker 1: do it here and there, you know, it's hard to
- 52:57Speaker 1: keep winning rounds. I mean, obviously he was you know,
- 53:01Speaker 1: he was in favorable country, I guess you could say.
- 53:03Speaker 1: But still, like I don't know, I guess I was
- 53:07Speaker 1: okay with the outcome. I like the scorecards. It was
- 53:10Speaker 1: nice that we didn't have some odd ball ten to
- 53:13Speaker 1: two or something like that that that we normally give.
- 53:15Speaker 1: But I did think Caterall would would sneak it out.
- 53:20Speaker 1: So I was wrong there. I did predict Caterall. But
- 53:23Speaker 1: it was a it was a close fight. It got
- 53:25Speaker 1: better as it went on. But yeah, those first handful
- 53:29Speaker 1: of rounds are really really slow. But yeah, yeah, like
- 53:34Speaker 1: I think he does pretty much everything good. You're right,
- 53:37Speaker 1: he's just a solid fighter, you know, and activity really
- 53:40Speaker 1: won this this fight, you know, And that's.
- 53:44Speaker 3: His strength, Like you said, he'll he'll generally be consistently busy,
- 53:48Speaker 3: you know, Barbosa, And if you want to really look
- 53:50Speaker 3: at what is his strength as a fighter, that that's it.
- 53:53Speaker 3: I mean, he's unless you have a lot of power
- 53:56Speaker 3: where you're hurting him, You're gonna have to throw a
- 53:58Speaker 3: lot of punches against the guy. But that's I think
- 54:00Speaker 3: a puncher who who can hurt him can slow him up.
- 54:04Speaker 3: And you know, as long as somebody has got decent skills.
- 54:07Speaker 3: But you know, he's got to he's got to run
- 54:09Speaker 3: into that guy and and that hasn't that hasn't happened yet.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Any other fights that you'd like to talk about at
- 54:17Speaker 1: all before we start heading into the big uh big
- 54:21Speaker 1: car coming up?
- 54:23Speaker 3: Now. That was it for last weekend. But even though
- 54:25Speaker 3: all the matchups weren't the greatest on paper, except you know,
- 54:28Speaker 3: Catterall and Barbosa was a competitive odds matchup going in,
- 54:32Speaker 3: there was a lot of action to talk about as
- 54:34Speaker 3: we just reviewed. But now we have a we have
- 54:37Speaker 3: even more The big card of a big month is
- 54:40Speaker 3: UH is this weekend.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm really looking forward to this one. And obviously
- 54:46Speaker 1: we won't be breaking down the Chakor fight, but you
- 54:51Speaker 1: know it's got a little bit of everything. You know,
- 54:54Speaker 1: WATSI Smith, Could that be a little bit slower? I
- 54:59Speaker 1: think that's possible. Well, giving the styles Adams Shiraz, you know,
- 55:08Speaker 1: I don't know what to think about that fight. To
- 55:09Speaker 1: be honest, I'm still.
- 55:10Speaker 2: Kind of in between.
- 55:14Speaker 1: I like aut him Us.
- 55:15Speaker 2: I thought he's gained some experience of late.
- 55:19Speaker 1: But I still just don't know if he punches hard
- 55:23Speaker 1: enough to really put a dent in as an opponent,
- 55:26Speaker 1: especially there Zang and cabell Is just like, you know,
- 55:33Speaker 1: not that Kvielle necessarily swings for the fences all the time,
- 55:37Speaker 1: but I wouldn't call him like a fighter that's just
- 55:39Speaker 1: really not gonna do much either. Like I do think
- 55:42Speaker 1: someone I think there's a good chance someone gets knocked
- 55:45Speaker 1: out there.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Du Bois in recent years has just.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Been fun to watch, and he's he could take a shot,
- 55:53Speaker 1: and you just it's funny that he could take all
- 55:56Speaker 1: these shots when you know, really you know, early in his.
- 55:59Speaker 2: Career it didn't it didn't look like it's strange.
- 56:03Speaker 3: It really is strange.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Yeah, And then you know the ones that kind of
- 56:07Speaker 1: like I think the Heavyway fights, those are really competitive
- 56:11Speaker 1: and fun styles and stuff like that and interesting like Parker,
- 56:15Speaker 1: you know, Kenny get away with how he's been fighting lately.
- 56:20Speaker 2: But the artiz.
- 56:21Speaker 1: Madrumov Uh to me, that one kind of steals the show.
- 56:25Speaker 1: I am looking forward to uh Beterviev and Bivel and
- 56:30Speaker 1: see how that works out. But let's talk about some
- 56:32Speaker 1: of these fights just in general. Maybe we'll kind of
- 56:36Speaker 1: go up the card and end with Ortiz and those
- 56:40Speaker 1: top two because those top two fights, especially artis badrmuff.
- 56:44Speaker 1: I mean, maybe I wouldn't be thinking that if I
- 56:48Speaker 1: hadn't seen totally different fights, but his performance against Crawford
- 56:52Speaker 1: where he was able to keep that competitive enough and
- 56:58Speaker 1: kind of rendered Crawford looking just above average to like
- 57:02Speaker 1: maybe a B plus be you know, a minus, but
- 57:05Speaker 1: he didn't look his normal his normal self as the
- 57:08Speaker 1: fight went on or whatever. But yeah, let's let's hear
- 57:12Speaker 1: some of your thoughts on what we got going, man,
- 57:14Speaker 1: because this is a stack hard to sit.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, well, of course I've talked about the US sensibilities.
- 57:19Speaker 3: One thing I think could be under I'm not saying
- 57:22Speaker 3: it's all going to come together this weekend, but with
- 57:26Speaker 3: what Turkey Alchik is doing that could come together with
- 57:29Speaker 3: US sensibilities. I think the US fans are still willing
- 57:34Speaker 3: to watch the heavyweights if they're going to be in
- 57:36Speaker 3: good fights, even if they're not Americans. But that's the key.
- 57:39Speaker 3: Like in the Klitchko era, you know, you had after
- 57:41Speaker 3: his chin got cracked early in his career. You know,
- 57:44Speaker 3: Emanuel Stewart got him fighting in that certain style where
- 57:49Speaker 3: he wanted to eventually knock guys out, but he was
- 57:51Speaker 3: being conservative and so that wasn't entertaining and there wasn't
- 57:55Speaker 3: that many legit contenders around from the fight. What I'm
- 57:58Speaker 3: getting to for, like these cars the Saudi's are putting
- 58:01Speaker 3: on with the bigger guys, I think they have some
- 58:03Speaker 3: entertainment potential for us. Sensibilities like heavyweights in good fights,
- 58:08Speaker 3: like you know, the way du Boise fighting lately, perfect example,
- 58:12Speaker 3: Like you know, people are gonna want to see the
- 58:14Speaker 3: guy even if he's British and you're an American. I mean,
- 58:17Speaker 3: they're going to be open to that. So I think
- 58:19Speaker 3: that's good. So the first fight, you know, we're going
- 58:20Speaker 3: to talk about, you know, Zang and Kabriel. I think
- 58:22Speaker 3: that's got that type of potential because you got Zang.
- 58:25Speaker 3: He's been fighting at a Jersey you know, even though
- 58:28Speaker 3: he's Chinese Olympian, but he's been fighting out at Bloomfield,
- 58:31Speaker 3: New Jersey Trains in New York. Really interesting entertaining character.
- 58:37Speaker 3: You know, in the in the ring with his power,
- 58:40Speaker 3: his size, you know, if you do find the guy's
- 58:45Speaker 3: fights interesting even though he's not always throwing a lot
- 58:47Speaker 3: of punches, and he does have amateur pedigree too, so
- 58:50Speaker 3: he's got that wrinkle in there that can be kind
- 58:52Speaker 3: of hidden. But as hard as he hits and he's slow,
- 58:56Speaker 3: there there's some tech. There is some technical skill there.
- 58:58Speaker 3: I mean, the guy know how to fight, so you
- 59:03Speaker 3: know the problem he's got. He's in his early forties
- 59:06Speaker 3: and know, no matter how hard he hits, you're gonna
- 59:08Speaker 3: run at a time. Is this the fight where he
- 59:12Speaker 3: runs at a time. That's that's the question for me,
- 59:15Speaker 3: especially because Cabel has been fighting so good and Chris,
- 59:18Speaker 3: as you accurately described for him, was kind of a change.
- 59:21Speaker 3: You know, he even at the point where he beat
- 59:23Speaker 3: Derek Jasaa because that wins looking better now with the
- 59:26Speaker 3: way Jasaur has been fighting, He's got to win a
- 59:28Speaker 3: few years back against Gesaura. But that's what he boxed more.
- 59:32Speaker 3: It's funny, he's the opposite of what you kind of
- 59:35Speaker 3: would normally see, where as his competitions even stepped up more,
- 59:42Speaker 3: he's been more aggressive. I mean, you know, he's stunned
- 59:46Speaker 3: you know, Macmandov blew him away, was a big underdog
- 59:51Speaker 3: and looked great doing it. Then Frank Sanchez, a guy
- 59:53Speaker 3: who everybody's having trouble fighting, who's a slick boxer with
- 59:57Speaker 3: some pop, he just destroys him based. I mean, he
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: just handles them legit hard body shots, takes him out.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: So you know, Cabel understandably. You know, he's the younger
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: guy too, and he's he's on a roll. He's the
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: favorite really here. You know, he wins this one when
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: the dust starts settling with whatever Ustik's going to do.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I mean, Cabel's earned the spot of he's not going
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: to be the biggest name, but he gets by this one.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: He kind of, you know, is arguably the biggest contender
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: unless you know, you know, outside of like you got
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Parker Dubois, whoever comes out of that. But he's really
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: right there. You know, Joshua just gotten blown away by Dubois.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: So Cabael deserves that respect. Obviously, he wins this one here.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: You know, it's like my head says Cabel should keep
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: this role going because of Zyg's age, but I just
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: don't want to. I don't want to bet against Zang
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: on this one at the plus and with his power
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: that he might be able to do it one more time.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: I mean it might literally just be one more time,
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: but yeah, I'm thinking he might. I don't know if
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: it's by it where it's just up here it is,
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: you know, right, I don't know if it's my heart
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: bore my head, but I like, I think maybe Zang
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: could crank it up one more time because he hits
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: so hard he's gonna hurt anybody. You know. It's like
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: would be nothing against Kabayel. But that's one thing Zan
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: shown is like, dude's gonna hurt. He's gonna hurt you.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: I mean, like, you know, it doesn't matter who's fighting.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: If he if he lands, he's gonna hurt. So I'm
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: kind of hedging on this one right now because my
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: head's saying kabaell, but my heart's kind of would like
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: to see if maybe Zang can crank it up one
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: more time. The guy's entertaining just to see what's going
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: to happen in his fights, fighting at a Jersey. He's
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: hanging around New York now. But I do I do
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: like the guy in that sense too. Nothing I really
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: respect what Kabael has done in recent years. But I'm
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: kind of sitting out a call this one just because
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I'm I'm thinking maybe maybe Zang can crank it up
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: one more time, But that might be more the heart
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: looking at it than than the head because Cavi L's
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: on a great role and he wins this one. He's
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: really gonna put himself right at the top of the line.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's I'm looking at it right now. Plus
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: one twenty four plus one thirty eight plus one thirty five. Yeah,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that that plus number the way you put it with Zang,
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: it's like, hmm, yeah, I'm gonna go Kabo by decision.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: I think he'll he may he may, he may drop him,
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: but I don't know.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I just think that it'll be kind of a blend
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: of like skill but yet combination punching, you know, like
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: it like he's just a nice blend of.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Of just staying out of danger at.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Times, because you do have to do that with Zang,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: and like you said, he's very underrated his jab and
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: just the way he throws and you know, the accuracy
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: with with it and also just.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: You know, he has shown even with Parker, he has shown.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Where you know, he is.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: It's he is fading, you know, he definitely is fading.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: And he was able to knock down Parker twice, right,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I think it was twice, Yeah, twice, but he just
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: wasn't active.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: He just wasn't busy.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: Enough, right, And I think that he can do.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: I think Cabell can outperform what Parker did, you know,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: So I think I could see him getting I could
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: see both of them get dropped, but I could see
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Cabell getting dropped. But I don't know.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Caby Yell by decision. But yeah,
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: I'm just looking forward to this fight man.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Yeah, And you're right, it's it's a type of deal
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: where because he's not that busy enough, Zang is just
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: like almost has to get him out of there. And
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: that's so I think you make a point like he
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: GE's so hard he could drop Kabel, but but not
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: be able to stop him, I mean, not have the
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: stamina to fall up like Parker, you know, because and
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: call fired halfway through the fight, you know, right, And
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I think Caba I agree with you. I think Cabael
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: really I could make the argument he's fighting better than
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Parker because Parker's been fighting these advanced states. Well we'll
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: talk abou when we get to his fight. But you know, Parker,
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: yeah surge, but it's been against advanced stage guys, you know,
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: and and he doesn't have that now this weekend.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. I think it's it's not taken away
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: from him because you know, hey, man, that's pretty cool
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: that you're having this nice little renaissance and clearly you're
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: making a but you know a lot of money, you
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: know what I mean. So so shouts out to you.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: But I'm you know, the two guys you ran into,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: it's like, you know, I just don't think you're gonna
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: you're gonna face that. So maybe you know, maybe putting
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: money you know on Zang just a little bit on
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: a knockout because I agree, I think that would I'm
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: looking that up right now because that is kind of
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: the way he'd win.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: You know, I do agree with you there. I think
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: that he would definitely have to.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: Knock him out, and that is he so on my
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: bookies plus one thirty five as an underdog, so it
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: is on the higher scale there and then for knockout
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: is a plus two ten.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's kind of what I like like, I'm not.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: I think you have the most likely outcome, but I
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: guess for plus is a zang Ko of Cabael at
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: plus two ten.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: I kind of like that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: I kind of like that for a little bit of
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: a play there. I think that's the way I'm leaning.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: That's why I didn't kind of want to make a
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: pick too, because I think Cabell your scenario is most likely.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: But from a gambling perspective, zang like, you know, he'd
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: have to be a ko win, but he's got the
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: power to do it. And plus two ten not a
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: not a to me, not a bad play, even though
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: cabbyl is fighting really well and he's the younger guy.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: And it's funny because him by decision is almost plus
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: six hundred.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: So that's tell me that's funny. So the odds bakers
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: get it. That is funny. Is that's funny?
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Funny thing? Cabbyel by decision is plus two twenty and
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: plus one seventy six and this is just one sight. Yeah,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: but for the for the stoppage, So that kind of
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: throws me off, you know what I mean?
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: Yeah, don't yet, I like it, but am I right?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: That tells me that they think Zang might just gas out. Yeah,
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: I just and that Cabil is good enough to stop
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: them for gases, because Zang's one of those guys that,
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: like Emmanuel Stewart used to talk about Big George Foreman
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: and the old big George Forman the comeback. Yeah, you
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: usually don't get that at heavyweight. But a guy it's
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: just so damn big. It's just so hard to stop
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: him because he's just so damn so damn big and
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: strong like dangs. That's like Zang, you know, like he
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: just he's like a tree. You know, it's like a
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: tree coming out there. I mean, you know he's gonna
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: get hit, right, you know, Yeah, he's going to get hit.
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: He's gonna run out of gas. But he's hard to
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: He's hard. It's hard to hurt him and drop him,
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: All right, where do you want to move next to?
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Well, I would say, I'm just looking at the order
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: here on what they've got.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: So uh yeah, notice times for Eastern too.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Yeah, which is good. Always been an advocate for more
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: of that. But I would say, I'm just going to
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: go in there their order. Then you got Guwatzi and
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: Callum Smith. Odds are close on this one. I'm I'm
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: I have my own opinion, not that I'm overrating him,
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: but you know, as I've said before, never going to
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: reach those levels, doesn't have that ability, but just a
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: little bit in style blotze I compared to like a
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: poor man's holy Field. That's just to me in style,
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: not going to reach those heights, not going to move
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: up to the weight. But you know, holy Field is
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: a light heavyweight in the amateurs and just something reminds
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: me a little bit of some of the things holy
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: Field did. Again a poor man's version of it. But
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: for sure, Callum Smith I've always felt pretty good about
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: as a fighter. But I just have a feeling and
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: you know, and I could be wrong on this one,
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: but I got I got a feeling maybe this is
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: I think you're running a risk here with Callum Smith
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: where he's going to mail it in on this one.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: That's my feeling. You know, does he really want to
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: go through what you got to go through for one
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: more push or is this just going to be a
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: payday to me? For odds that close, I think there's
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: much too much of a risk of that being the case.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: For Callum Smith here, and you know, for Blatzi, he's
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: really pushing forward towards his first big fight. You know,
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: he's going to be lurking. He's been on you know,
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: he's on the Saudi card here with better BV andbvall
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: at the top. You know, he's a win away from
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: being at least potentially maybe within the next year, we
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: know how boxing goes, but an opponent for one of
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: those guys that payday. So I think he's got enough
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: at stake. You know, he hasn't really had a big
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: fight like that yet. And with that in sight Smith,
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: he's on the back nine, you know, really, you know
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: when he's law lost, you know it's against the best,
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: but hasn't been too good in those fights. And and
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: he did have a I didn't I didn't think Ryder
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: won it like people saw. But his performance, you know,
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: even going years back against John Ryder wasn't good. So
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I'm thinking of those kind of moments and I'm like,
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: you know, Blatzi still on the undefeated roll. I'm a
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: little surprised on this one. The odds are that tight.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: I feel here, I feel like the favorite. Bootsie's a
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: good play like to me, that's a I think I
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: saw him out like I think minus two hundred, I'm like, yeah,
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: I'm on that.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: I'm on that.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I could be you know, maybe COLLM. Smith's gonna
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: prove me wrong there. If he does, I'll be the
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: first to apologize next week. It's not doubting his overall
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: career or his hard or anything, but just at this
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: point we've all seen it happen. You follow boxing enough,
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: I'm not sure he's gonna crank it up for this
- 1:10:26Speaker 3: one and do what he needs to do. I don't.
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: I don't think he is. And looking at the odds
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: and hearing people talk, I don't, I don't. It's a
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: good fight, but I don't see this one. I don't
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: see this one as as that close.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: I agree. I think just the jab alone and some
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: of the things that blats he can do at range.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Will just be a handful for killing to deal with.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: And he's not just gonna be able to come forward
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: and try to you know, beast him out or something
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: like that. And honestly, like you know, his best win
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: is George grows right, And if we're honest with ourselves,
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: that was not the George Groves that was like, you know,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: he was he retired after the fight, if I remember correctly,
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: and he was coming off an injury where you saw
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: him in the ring. You're like, he don't look right,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: you know, And I totally understood. I remember us talking
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: about this, I think that before, maybe not when the
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: actual fight happened, but you know, the ranking, I understand
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: where why you know, all of a sudden he was
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: where he was ranked because he was undefeated. Groves is
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: up there because he had shown against Frausch and all that,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: and then they went in that tournament, and I just
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: I think Kenny Smith, like we've said before, you have
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: to rank these fighters someplace, and at that time it
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: wasn't that deep and so and it's still not that deep,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: and I just think he just was in the right place,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: right time, the right fighter.
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: Next thing, you know, it's for lineal.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: You know, he's lineal, and you're like, well, I mean, yeah,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: you do have to rank him, but I think it
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: was it just wasn't all that meaningful of a win
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: just because Groves wasn't Groves. And I'm not trying to
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: put Groves in the Hall of Fame, you know, but
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: if that's your best win. And then like you said,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: he grinded it out against the rider. You know, got
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: hitting the arm. That's how Canelo beat him? He said,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: he just hit him in the arm and then that
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: was it.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: You know, that was a little weird.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Didn't do it, and he didn't do it. Didn't do
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: anything in that fight.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: He didn't do it. And then you know, I get it,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: like you know, is a is a monster. So I
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: don't expect him to just do great against him or whatever.
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: But I don't think he's looked at it that much.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: Bet maybe physically like looking bigger at one seventy five,
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: it's been better, but he doesn't really looked good.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: So I agree, I think it'd be by decision.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: I think Blatzi will just kind of outclass in a
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: sense not necessary defensively where he's countering all day. But
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: I just some of the fundamentals that he will stick to.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: I just don't you know, I don't think Kelly Smith
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: is gonna have much answers.
- 1:13:11Speaker 3: Now for cown Smith, for me against his lesser opposition.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: You know, with his height, he showed me what I
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: always wanted to see out of him early in his career,
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: even though he did it, you know, against Groves, but
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: I want to see it more fights where you know,
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: being the rangey puncher, you know, really getting the leverage.
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: Now it's like heavy against the lesser opposition. There have
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: been some fights where he's shown that, but you don't
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: see it at all when he steps it up. You
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: just don't like, you know, you know, he's not even
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: like against Canelo or Better Beev, like landing a bomb
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: like that before he before he gets Dominator gets taken
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: out where you're like, well, there's that power at least,
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: like just just nothing. And that's where I'm thinking, like, yeah,
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: even though that's tough opposition Canello better Beev like they
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: just with no flashes none. So I just think Bawatzi
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: is not Canelo or better BF, but he's on high
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: enough of a level at this point that he's the
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: type of fighter where I just don't see Smith's power
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: showing up against guys like that.
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, because he does have that body type
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: and I just checked again that length too. He's got
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: a seventy eight inch reach. You know, I could really
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: use that and have that long jab and stuff.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: But yeah, we'll see. Do you think it'll be by
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: decision as well, or I.
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Think I'm not certain on that one. You know, Biwatzie,
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: that's one of his flaws. We're talking about Smith's flaws,
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: but you know one of Biwatsi's flaws. There's guys he
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: should be getting out of there that he does not,
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: and that's where that's where he can frustrate. So that's
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: where I hesitate. To me at the stage of the career.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: In the age Smith's act, I could see if Bowatsie
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: fights the way I think he's capable of fighting, I
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: could see a late stoppage, but I don't like from
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: a betting perspective, say, do I feel comfortable making a
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: stoppage decision called with the Watsie.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Not really.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: I feel comfortable on the win, but I could see
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: it going either way. On the deceis. You know, if
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: the wats he's not at his best, I could still
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: see him winning the decision over Smith. But I think
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: if he shows up at full capacity, he could get
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: a late stoppage. But I don't feel comfortable either way
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: on that.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and there is gonna be a little UK pride
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: going on. I think both guys will get up to
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: an extent, but.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: If it is, it's probably gonna be a t k
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: O just throwing the towel type thing. You know. I
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: don't see him getting knocked out where he can't get
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: up or right.
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: All right, let's let's move on to the next fight.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Sir.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: We got Ortiz and Ortiz and madrum Off. That's close.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: I agree with everybody. That's close. People seem to be
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: saying they don't know who they want to go with
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: on this, But then I see lately, as we're getting
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: late here, a lot of people seem to be to me,
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: seemed to pick a man, you know, drum Off. He is,
- 1:16:16Speaker 3: he's got amateur pedigree, he's a good fighter. You know,
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: he's already been in with somebody like Crawford, and he's
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: been with some other contender one hundred and fifty four
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: pound guys. You know, people looking you know, we we
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: have seen or or tease, hurt and dropped in some fights.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: I agree with the weight resume now. I agree with
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: the people with the weight reservations. I don't like him
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: with the one hundred and fifty four you know, I've
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: said that. Now he has made it some but I
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: was like, skip this just fight at middleweight, and a
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: lot of people say no, no, no, But to me,
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: it's like a time bomb. You know, he could have
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: trouble with the weight at any point. Now he has
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: made it. I didn't even think he'd make it, so
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: I'll give him that. Like you know, I'm not still
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: saying I liked the idea, but I didn't even think
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: he would make it for some of the fights he's
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: made it recently, like you know, Bajo Chuck. But that
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: doesn't mean it's gonna be easy. That's gonna be it's
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: gonna be easy Saturday for this one. So I got
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: to reserve weight, see on that. So you know, I'll
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: go out there on a limb now, but I do
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: reserve the right if for teases at the one sixty
- 1:17:26Speaker 3: five on Saturday boarding or something like that, I'm not
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: gonna feel comfortable, you know, if he's tried to make
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: the weight or what of those types of things. But
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: with that understood, I if Ortez makes the weight, okay,
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: I'm I'm gonna go with him here. I think the
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: difference I don't. I think this one does go to decision,
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: not a knockout. But I think Ortez's power is the difference,
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: not even necessarily for a knockdown. I just think he
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: hits hard enough that I think, you know, Madrum off,
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: to me, one of his flaws is, you know, he's
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: he's not tall for the division, and you know sometimes
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: then he still wants to box, you know, he wants
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: to jump in and out and box. When at his height,
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: when he comes forward more with the skills he does
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: have and he has some pop, I think he's much
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: more effective. You know, he's much more effective as a fighter.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: But now he's one of those guys that to me,
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: that's his flaw. He doesn't always want to do that.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: And what I see happening here from what I've seen
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: of both guys is Ortiz has that pop that I
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: think he's going to keep Magerim off in that box
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: or mode where he's going to be jumping in and
- 1:18:41Speaker 3: out hoping to get it, hoping to get a decision,
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: and I think Ortiz just keeps him at bay with
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: the pop, with the authority probably you know, probably land
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: some good shots on him here and there, and probably
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: a tight fight, you know, maybe one of those type
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: of deals where some people are saying Madrumov, you'ld have
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: gotten a decision or something like that. But Ortiz gets
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: the call and I'm looking at the power he brings
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: punching authority, just just being the difference there, the way
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: that forces you know, magrum Off to fight, and to me,
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: I think would be enough for you know, Ortiz to
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: get a decision as long as he's okay making the way.
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: So if the as long as the weight's okay, I
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: am going with Ortiz here and in a competitive decision.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: So even though we did talk about it back in August,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: it's hard to believe that that fight was already in August.
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: But do you think it was just a weird style
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: matchup with Crawford and madrmouth like because for a while,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: neither one really tried to do a whole lot. Because
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: some of it's that, I believe, but also there was
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: some things that madro Mouf was able to do with
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Crop well, you know, I hate to say it due
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: to him, like he was.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Winning all these but.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: It's just it's just kind of funky that it. You know,
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: it went the distance and it was close like that,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: and not a whole lot happened in the fight.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: Now, I attribute that to to me, as good as
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Prawferd is and he was coming off his career best
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: performance against Spence. We're getting into legit weight things now.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: You know this guy was a lightweight.
- 1:20:25Speaker 3: You know, he's in his late thirties now, So that's
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: what I attributed to. I think we're forgetting there as
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: good as he is coming off a great performance now
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: we're dealing with.
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: It.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: Was the light weight, you know, in his later thirties
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: fighting at one hundred and fifty four pounds against somebody
- 1:20:44Speaker 3: who's good. That's what I attribute that to. So that
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: was one that I don't think that was good for
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: him from a marketing standpoint, like coming off the Spence
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: fight to just have a not inspiring decision against you know,
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: yeah Magrum off at one hundred and fifty four pounds,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: But from a boxing standpoint, I do feel like just
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: Crawford just getting a win at that point, you know,
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: being get into his later thirties, started out as a lightweight.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: He's fighting a good one hundred and fifty four pound guy. Yeah,
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: you know, I couldn't hold him to style points in
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: the boxing assignment. Just he got the win, and I
- 1:21:25Speaker 3: thought that's all he kind of needed to do with.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: You could question whether he should have taken that fight.
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: I think that was very questionable. But since he did
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: take it, I thought he just had to kind of
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: come out there with a win because now he's getting
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: at a high enough weight advanced age that that's what
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: I attributed to, right.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I do think Ortiz is the better inside fighter. You know,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Madramov is kind of known for these angles, but it's
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: not like Orties can't do the same thing. And I
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: think both of leap himself open, so it's not it's
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: not just Ortiz who can get hit clean Madra mav.
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: You know, there's times where he'll chap and his other
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: arm is like you know, or he'll leap, you know,
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: like we've seen before.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: It seems like he's calling that down where it's.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: Not like he has I agree with that he's improved.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: I got to give that to him. He has improved
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: in that area. But but that's where I'm kind of
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: looking at this one, like that's where sometimes when you're
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: fighting like a puncher, then you can revert, you know,
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: like you've made all this progress, but then the instincts
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: to survive kick in and that that's kind of the
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: way I do see this. That's why i'm I'm getting
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: to the power there, because you're right, he has improved
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: that a lot, and I think he's much better when
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: he's settled down on that and he comes forward consider
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: his hype. But that's where I see Ortez his power
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: knocking him out of that game here.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that they both have They're more similar,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: not similar how they fight, but Ortiz can do more
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: than you think, yes, and and he could definitely counter
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: and he's he he I would like this like when
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: he's up close, he's in the high guard, but I
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: would like to see him have his his uh, his
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: hands higher because I have noticed that he does keep
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: his hands low, but he does use a lot of
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: upper body movement and like I said, he can use
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: foot angles too. It's not just gonna be Madram, But
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I'm I'm I kind of like your uh like the
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: majority decision type thing.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: I do kind of like a little bit of argument.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Plus you know there'll be people that it'll help Crawford,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: you know, and you know there'll be people like skewing
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: their mind and give them an extra couple of rounds
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: because they want they want to make it look better
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: or whatever, you know, and vice versa. So or if
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: he does catch him with a bigger punch, then they'll
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: be like, oh, virtual will kill Crawford.
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: You know, it'll go the other way. And but I
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: do like Arties.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: I just think he's I think he's a little bit
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: more all around as a fighter. He's not just the
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: guy that's going to come forward and try to slug
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: it out. I mean, he will do that, but I
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: think he's got more upper body movement and some of
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: the stuff that he can apply to Madra mov that
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I think that'll be I do like the what you
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: said about the it'll turn it once he gets hit
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: with a big shot or something. The instincts kick in
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: and then he'll need He'll feel like I need to
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: land that big shot back and maybe be losing rounds
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: by that point. But I'm going to go majority of
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: decision with Ortiza. I'm with you there, I think. But
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: I don't see a knockout in this one either.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: Yeah, and what I'd like to see for this isn't
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: really the spot. It's a huge card for boxing fans,
- 1:24:43Speaker 3: but you know, Ortiz is one of the only spots
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: of US sensibilities on there. But what I'm getting to
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: from a marketing standpoint here is it's not the ideal
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: spot necessary in terms of viewership. But you know, Virgil
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: Ortiz being one of the best American fighters out there really,
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: and he's been kind of buried on his own, Like
- 1:25:03Speaker 3: I'd like to see him get a spot, you know,
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: where he's you know, because the US needs all it
- 1:25:08Speaker 3: can get. I'd like to see him get a spot
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: where you know, he gets gets even more of a buzz,
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: you know among the American fans, you know, or maybe
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: it leads to where somebody's going to give him some
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: better exposure somehow.
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: I don't know if he's the.
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: Fighter exactly exactly, you know, Mexican American, and you know,
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: he's an exciting fighter, he's got pop. You know, he
- 1:25:34Speaker 3: had some you know, US amateur experience, and he's one
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: of the guys that could be a star. I just
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: think it's you know, he had the weight issues, but
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: I think to me, it's mostly but he's been buried
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: on his own, you know, for too long, and I
- 1:25:48Speaker 3: don't know if this is his own pay per view
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I don't necessarily alleviates it, but maybe the card, you know,
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: gets enough publicity or something that if he has a
- 1:25:57Speaker 3: big performance, maybe even bigger than we're expect. I think
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: from him that this could gain him more momentum. I'd
- 1:26:05Speaker 3: like to see him, you know, have some more exposure.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm not seeing any a whole lot of
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: promo for it.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: We still have a couple of days. I suppose they
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: could sneak it on something.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Now there's plenty of you know, college basketball and NBA
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: and other stuff.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: To promote it for.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: But I still don't I don't even see like the
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: crazy commercial trend now you know what happened to those,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: you know, we like freaking commercials that I would love
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: for it to be not just on his own but
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: on the ESPN plus in Amazon. And so someone tunes
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: in to me like, holy shit, this is a great promo,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: you know. But I put to your point, I do
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: think since it's such a long card, right that well,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: of course we haven't seen him play out yet, but
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: it's the scheduled card that online, I think it could burn.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: You know, there could be some churn in there where
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: people are like, holy shit, those dudes are getting in. Well,
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: there's still five fights on it. Yeah, but damn, you know,
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: I guess there is a chance for that. I think
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: they need some things to go well early in the card,
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: and then if you do like I was talking to
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: someone the other day who is, uh, it's kind of
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: like a semi casual, and he said, where do I
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: watch boxing right now?
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: And I thought it was a great question. It's a
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: great question. I said, you're right, you know. But and
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: I told him about the ZIGN I told him about
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: other other stuff, and I told him about this card,
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: and I broke it down for him. I showed him
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: the odds and all that, and he's really excited about it.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, I just it's great that they
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: lowered the price, but it's just, you know, I don't know.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: But it's not it's not designed for us sensibilities. That's like,
- 1:27:57Speaker 3: you lower the price, But if you're not designing it
- 1:28:00Speaker 3: all for us sensibilities, it's almost like your your cap
- 1:28:03Speaker 3: and your audience. Maybe they could have Eddie Murphy imitating
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: Tracy Morgan doing his own profile.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: That was.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: The hardest, hardest I've laughed for a long time.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Yeah, no kidding, no kidding.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: All right, let's move on to the next one.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: Sir, got Damas and sheer As a good matchup. You know,
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: I do like this matchup. Sheer As is you know,
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: other people said I've said it too, but it's there.
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: I mean, he you know, hard bar to reach, but
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: he's showing some Thomas Hearns type qualities, which is exciting
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: to watch. I mean, I'm getting to really like watching
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: him because Thomas Hearns is one of my favorite fighters
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: of all time. And to see this guy having fights recently,
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: like against the two Williams is lee him an ammo,
- 1:29:00Speaker 3: you know, at least solid fighters. He looks you know,
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: he's shown flashes of a Hearns can Now he's fighting
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: a bit, you know, really middleweight being weak like we said,
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: but at the middleweight we've gotten now Adamas is about
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: at the top. You know, he's right, he's right there,
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: He's right there with Amilkuli. Really those are you know,
- 1:29:23Speaker 3: but that's what we've got now. So and you know, Lari,
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: you can't count him out.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: I mean, this puncher version of himself and somebody pretty
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: good kept him.
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: But he's kept himself in there though. But even though
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: he's in his forties. But so you know, it's it's
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: a historical division. It's always arguably been the most popular
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: after heavyweight, which is sad. You know, the historians are
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: great sad the state we've seen it. But now here
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: sheer has maybe a guy he really is, I mean
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: he has a big performance Saturday. Adamas is a very
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: solid opponent at the top of this division, even though
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: it's weak. This is like where again it reminds you
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: of a Hearns, Like if he comes out and everybody's
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: looking for a good fight. Here, odds are relatively close
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: even though she has is a favorite, but then Sheiras
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: blows them away, you know, like Hearn's Quavist type thing.
- 1:30:15Speaker 3: Look we still talk about you know, Hearn's waves forty
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: five years later. That's why, you know, because it just
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: shocks you. You know, like whoa you know, look at
- 1:30:25Speaker 3: this guy. You know, he's just destroying people, and you
- 1:30:27Speaker 3: know the way he does it. Sheerras has shown that
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: potential in the last couple of fights. A Damas is
- 1:30:34Speaker 3: by far the best opponent he's had in his career.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: And Adamas is you know, inconsistent. He has times he
- 1:30:40Speaker 3: doesn't look that good, but he has had times in
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: recent years that he's looked real good, Like against Dervayan Jenko,
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: he had a tremendous form so like to me, almost
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: came out of nowhere. But it was a fantastic performance.
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: And you know he's had some other good ones, some
- 1:30:54Speaker 3: not as good, so he's inconsistent. But you know, if
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: he brings his a game right, he's going to be
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: a real tough opponent, even for sheer As.
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: But I been looking for an opportunity and here it is.
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: You know, he's wanted a big fight, so he's on
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: this card. I just love this role Sheeras is on.
- 1:31:13Speaker 3: He's the favorite, and it looks like it's there. And
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: the Damas is not a guy who's a big middleweight
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: or anything like that. He's not small, even though he
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: came up from welter but he's like an average typical
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: type middleweight. But she As, you know, being a big
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: Thomas Hearns type of guy, like a Damas isn't big
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: enough where it's going to offset that shear As size
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: and reach advantage. Like if sheer As keeps rolling the
- 1:31:39Speaker 3: way he has been, like a Damas will be there
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: for I mean, even though it has become more boxer
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: later in his career. I don't know if he's that
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: good of a boxer where a Sheras keeps building on
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: this role like he has been, that he won't get
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: to him, and I tend to think Sheraz is going
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: to keep on this role. It does excite me as
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: a fan, like, you know, if this Adamas is tough
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: enough that if if he if he gets him out
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: of there impressively. You know, sheer As is really look
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: shere As is really looking like a middleweight star. That
- 1:32:14Speaker 3: division is so open that that he might be the
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: guy everybody's looking for there. This this should be the
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: test for that. You know, if he struggles or he
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: close decision or something, it's it's not going to completely
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: stop his progress or anything. But then you may question, oh,
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: is he that guy? You know, is he that that
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: Hearn's looking type guy? But it but if he does
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: the Hearns imitation again and pulls it off against somebody
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: of this caliber who's at the top of the middleweight division,
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: then you're going to rightfully, really really get excited about
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: the guy. And I'm leaning towards thinking he is going
- 1:32:49Speaker 3: to be able to do that. I think he's shown
- 1:32:52Speaker 3: enough of that in these last couple of fights that
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: I think, I think Ambo Williams is flawed, but it
- 1:32:58Speaker 3: was probably good enough that with sheer As was able
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: to do that to him and if it was late,
- 1:33:05Speaker 3: but but he puts some hurt off, and uh, I
- 1:33:08Speaker 3: think he probably is going to be able to do
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: that domics before it's over as well.
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he's fluid, he's very accurate. He does
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: that power and like you said, Ottamus, there's times where
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: it's like dude, you gotta punch more man, you gotta
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: you gotta finish this round, and other times where he's
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: really going at it, and you're right, he does. He
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: does box a little bit now more. I've definitely noticed that.
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: But even that, uh, that fight he fought here against
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: Jay Rock, you know, it was like too close. You know,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: it's like, yeah, you know, it's like you shouldn't be
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: you shouldn't be having this much problems.
- 1:33:52Speaker 3: No, he should have handled that version of Jay Rock easier.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Yep. And that was probably estopage that shouldn't have been.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: I remember saying that was the Minnesota nice type stoppage.
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: You know, that's like when they canceled the marathon. You
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: know a little two.
- 1:34:05Speaker 3: Yeah, what you said, right kind of things a lot
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: of times.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Yeah, right, So I don't know. Yeah, I just think
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: at some point the accuracy and the pin yeah, the
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: pinpoint punching he can do, I think he will light
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: him up pretty good.
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: I don't know if he'll stop him. Maybe it will
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: be just an abundance of punches and stuff like that.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: But I do think Otamus he will rise to the
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: ocasion even when he's getting hit pretty clean, because he
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: has shown that, he has shown that he'll he'll fight back.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: But I could see the first handful of rounds kind
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: of timid from both sides. But yeah, I'm with you.
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: I'm kind of stuck on the outcome though, as far
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: as that, you know, how it's actually gonna go down,
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like he's gonna stop him,
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: but I don't know. I'm kind of in we need
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: to be honest. I do like sure as to win,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: but I don't know, I'm not I'm not totally sold
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: on how the how it's gonna end.
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: Yeah, what I mean, it's it's too top really at
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: this point, too top middle weights. And that's the one
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: thing I like about this card. You know, I hate
- 1:35:14Speaker 3: the alphabet belts, and I don't think you need him
- 1:35:16Speaker 3: for this card, like like I always will go then
- 1:35:19Speaker 3: for the breakdown too, Like if there were only eight
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: weight classes left, maybe nine if you want to add
- 1:35:24Speaker 3: lose your weight one champ. These are all good fights.
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: That's what makes it a good card. You don't have
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: to overblow it about these alphabet belts and everything. And
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: to me, this is one of those fights, like I mean,
- 1:35:33Speaker 3: adamis is, you know, probably the number two middleweight in
- 1:35:37Speaker 3: the world with a vacant title, and your sheer As
- 1:35:40Speaker 3: is right up there. I mean, this is like the
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: fights we want, like top ten contenders fighting each other
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: to see who's going to work their way to the
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: top and become the real you know, become the real champ.
- 1:35:51Speaker 3: And you know, all these fights because we've lost to
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: Stevenson fight that was the only one that really wasn't
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: like that and that one's off, So all these all
- 1:36:02Speaker 3: these fights are like and the and the main event,
- 1:36:04Speaker 3: Peter Better b Evan Bivall is for the white the
- 1:36:07Speaker 3: real light heavyweight title, so that that's really the strength
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: of this car.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: And you know the UK is looking for that next
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: guy and I do think, like you said, I I
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: really think he has that, you know, I think it's
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: beyond potential. I do think he could. He could really
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: stand up. Now hopefully they mix it where he's fighting
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: in the UK in Sadi, you know where it's not
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: just I mean obviously timing it does you know, it
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: does line up better. It's not ideal though, but it
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: is a little better for the for the for the
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: car to be taking place. But I do think he's
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: a guy that they would really get behind. I really
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: feel that way. All right, So what do we got?
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: We got du bois pother heavyweight scrap.
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: I mean, great, great matchup. It's it's what I's It's
- 1:37:07Speaker 3: funny to me that it happened because it's what I've
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: been saying with Parker. You know, he got the win
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: over Wilder. Wilder looked completely shot. Then he got the
- 1:37:16Speaker 3: win over Zion. He went down twice. It was close,
- 1:37:19Speaker 3: but Zian just didn't quite do enough. But my one
- 1:37:24Speaker 3: thing that I was saying you have to watch about
- 1:37:26Speaker 3: Parker is, you know, then to fight before that, you know,
- 1:37:28Speaker 3: his big last big fight before that, he got stopped
- 1:37:31Speaker 3: by Joyce, who was in his later thirties, so all
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: those big fights against fighters in their later thirties or forties.
- 1:37:38Speaker 3: Now it's heavyweight where fighters last longer. Yes, but still,
- 1:37:42Speaker 3: I mean, he hasn't been in a big fight against
- 1:37:46Speaker 3: anybody at prime age since you know, who knows when
- 1:37:51Speaker 3: it's been a long time, and that hasn't been any
- 1:37:54Speaker 3: great performance for him. So I think that's you know, Dubois.
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: I see, so he opened as a favorite, looked like money.
- 1:38:02Speaker 3: He's gotten a lot of money on him too, since
- 1:38:04Speaker 3: it's the odds have increased, and he's coming off a
- 1:38:08Speaker 3: great performance against Joshua where, you know, except for the
- 1:38:11Speaker 3: moment he got hurt right before the end, he just
- 1:38:13Speaker 3: dominating him, knock him all over the place, and he've
- 1:38:16Speaker 3: been on the roll before that. And Dubois is young
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: for a heavyweight, so like to me, this is where
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: Parker's numbers up. But Dubois still does have those flaws
- 1:38:29Speaker 3: where I can't say it's not one of It's not
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: because of dubois flaws. It's not like it's a certainty
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: for me. Parker's now it should it should be up
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: because this is what I was waiting for. To me,
- 1:38:44Speaker 3: the Joe Parker recent train to get derailed. I kind
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: of was he did what he had to do, good wins,
- 1:38:51Speaker 3: but I was like, eh, you know, all the big
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: fights against these guys in their later thirties forties, he
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: fights somebody close to their prime, and the cloak's going
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: to get pulled off. But Dubois has those flaws because
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: the consensus seems to be and you know, this is
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: the best I could come to, too, is like, well,
- 1:39:13Speaker 3: he seems to not take a shot as good later
- 1:39:16Speaker 3: in the fight, but you're still kind of trying to
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: bootstrap him into that because he got hurt early against Lorena,
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: who was a cruiserweight coming up. He was just about out.
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: I mean, yeah he didn't. He didn't end up being out,
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: but he was about out. I mean he was about
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: as close as he could go to being out where
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: the REF could have stopped the fight. Now REF proved
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: he made the right decision, So I don't think you
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: go that far and say, oh, if the REF would
- 1:39:41Speaker 3: have stopped them when he should have, you know, Lorena
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: would have won. But no, REF did the right thing.
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: But I mean Dubois was just about out and that
- 1:39:50Speaker 3: was early. That was early. So even that theory and
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: against Jerrell Miller, he came on late. He was getting
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: tagged early. Now, he did take the shots early there,
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: and then Miller just not being what he was, whether
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: it was because of being off peds, older in activity,
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: he didn't have that punct rate in the second half
- 1:40:11Speaker 3: that he'd always had in those fights where he was
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: better for whatever reason, and then Dublas was able to
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: stop him late. Come on. But like so, so, what
- 1:40:21Speaker 3: I'm saying is there's even inconsistencies in that theory that
- 1:40:25Speaker 3: Dubois strong early, like and he gets hurt late. He's
- 1:40:31Speaker 3: kind of a hard guy to figure out, like that
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: really is. You know, he may just not have that
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: good I mean it maybe we're trying to figure it
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: out and I want to say he doesn't have that
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: good of a chin. But then you saw him against
- 1:40:43Speaker 3: Herkovic just eating right hands. I mean, you know, I
- 1:40:46Speaker 3: think Krkovic can punch good enough, and he's a big
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: guy even at heavyweight, like and Dubai just ate those shots.
- 1:40:53Speaker 3: I mean it was for me, for a guy coming
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: from where Dubois had been, it was one I said
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: that at the time we talked by one of the
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: craziest things I'd ever seen my decades of watching boxing,
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: he was just taking shot after shot clean, shaking it off,
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: and then you know he survives it against Joshua. But
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: a part of me watching decades of boxing too, is like,
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: even though he's only in his late twenties, you know,
- 1:41:20Speaker 3: when you take shots clean like that, I mean, it
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: could that could catch up to him all of a
- 1:41:25Speaker 3: sudden too. I mean just now from like you know,
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: he's just eating those shots from Herkovic And even right
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: before he took Joshua out, he got hurt at the end,
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: you know, like does they used to call that the
- 1:41:35Speaker 3: door opening? You know, like the cash register opening, Like
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: when the guy just all of a sudden, he's not
- 1:41:40Speaker 3: taking the shots that good anymore, like you know, like
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: that old phrase like does the does the cat from
- 1:41:45Speaker 3: the old cash registers? You know, does the drawer just
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: pop open? Austin Parker hits him, and you know the
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: drawer pops open again. So there, that's what makes good fights.
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: I mean, there's enough intrigue. I'm gonna go with my
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: initial instinct that I think this is Parker running into
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: a younger guy and that Dubis should be able to
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: take him out. I mean even though Parker generally has
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: been durable. Still I would think that's my likely scenario here.
- 1:42:13Speaker 3: I think that's what I'm picking. But there's just enough
- 1:42:16Speaker 3: mystery to du Bois with that, you know, taking shots,
- 1:42:21Speaker 3: you know, and then you know can take them, sometimes
- 1:42:24Speaker 3: not take them, but then just the defense not being
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: there and eating shots. There's just enough mystery with that
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: guy that you know, you wouldn't want to bet the house.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: You wouldn't want to bet the house on Dublas in
- 1:42:36Speaker 3: this fight. I'm gonna say that. So this is not
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: Dubois and I think by Ko, but not with a certainty, right.
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: Yeah. You know it's interesting because I remember after that
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: HRGA by fighter thought, man if aj hit some of
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: those shots, it's a wrap, right, It's he's going to
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: get knocked.
- 1:43:00Speaker 3: Yeah, especially just after all the punishment he took in
- 1:43:02Speaker 3: that fight.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like if he takes that many, which ultimately didn't,
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: but if he took even half of that from aj
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: R had gotten really hurt, and like you said, he
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: did end up getting hurt. He just had such a
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: good start in that fight. And then also you know,
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: just kind of looking back at you know, to your point,
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: getting knocked out by Joyce Parker. And then he had
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: like three fights where it was really I mean, Jack Massey,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: that's probably the best fighter in there, you know, but
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: it's that's not saying much. And he went the distance
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: with him, but not that Parker's really known for stopping people.
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: When he was younger, he would brawl like him and
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: Andy Ruiz, you know, he would he would brawl, get tired,
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: box hold On, brawl, get tired box hold On. He
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: is a different fighter. But then you're right, it's like
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: the next two fights after that are like eh. And
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: it felt like the biggest advantage he had is being active,
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: and so he was. He was ready to go. And
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: you could see not only as Wilder, you know, washed,
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: but you know, the timing, even if he wasn't as
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: washed as appear as he is, the timing just was
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: not there at all. He could not pull the trigger whatsoever.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: And if he can't pull the trigger, it's gonna be trouble,
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: you know. And he's still even kind of busted Parker
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: a little bit. He just couldn't follow it up and
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: really couldn't land any good punches. But and then like
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: you said, saying, you know, I just think in a
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: similar scenario, the boy is gonna go for it.
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's the age thing. I mean, ja Wah
- 1:44:44Speaker 3: is in his later twenties. You know when he lands
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: those shots in Herst Parker, he's not gonna be sitting back,
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: not doing anything exactly. He's gonna be following up, able
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: to stop. It's just like we always talked about where
- 1:44:56Speaker 3: people didn't get it. Where you know, would putch Goo
- 1:44:59Speaker 3: landed a shot when Joshua dropped him a big shot
- 1:45:02Speaker 3: after he was hurt. But Klitschko was was was old,
- 1:45:04Speaker 3: he was washed up. There was no there was nothing
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: to finish up with. You know, there was nothing to
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: follow up. That's like you know Zang, you know old
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: the guy in his early forties, right, you know he
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: dropped Parker a couple of times, but you know their
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: follow up wasn't there. With Dubois, you know, at his
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: age in his twenties, you know that follow up is
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: going to be there. I mean, he hurts Parker, there's
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: going to be more coming.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: Yes, yep. And he just seems like he's on the
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: up and up. He he I mean he's literally one
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: fight away from getting musick.
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: You know, I really believe that because Zusik's going to
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: be there, and he said that that's that's the next
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: fight I want to have. I want to have two
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: more fights. When Usak said lately and he said, this
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: is you know, and it makes sense that that they
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: could sell the rematch.
- 1:45:48Speaker 3: Yeah. No, he's opening the door to it, and there
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: is a selling There is a selling point there, yep.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: And when people see, oh man, he got knocked down.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: Did he get knocked down or was it a low blower?
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: You know that that's how that stuff goes. So and
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: I just think that kinda like Parker has been crafty.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: He hasn't been boxed on the outside too much. He's
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: been crafty, and he's kind of had that little squat down.
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: Yeah he's been doing that more. Yeah, Yeah, he's doing
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: that a lot more. He squats down. And I just
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: don't think any of that's really gonna work against the blas.
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: I mean, not that he won't land punches. Everybody land
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: punches on the bat, right, but like you said, is
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: it really gonna make him count? Does he have enough
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: power to really hurt him? And I think the answer
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: is no. So I do think that Dubois will stop him.
- 1:46:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's the likely scenario here, But Dubois
- 1:46:40Speaker 3: has enough mystery to him that makes it interesting.
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, And you know, and if Parker pulls
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: this one up, then I mean.
- 1:46:48Speaker 3: I'm not taking he pulls this one off, I'm not
- 1:46:50Speaker 3: taking anything away from Himau they don't, then I'll beat
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: a younger guy than himself who was on a roll.
- 1:46:57Speaker 3: And then then I'll jump on the I'll jump on
- 1:47:00Speaker 3: the chorus who's saying like, okay, you know, give him
- 1:47:03Speaker 3: a shot at the Yes, the whole thing, you know,
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: not not the alphabet stuff, but I mean fighting the
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: man in this case, yeah, giving And.
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: That would be to come all the way back and
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: get that fight yet for some piece of it or whatever,
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: you know that before the piece. But you know, he
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: fought Joshua for you know, to unify and whatnot, and
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: it's like for him to come all the way back, man,
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: that would be pretty crazy. But you could say the
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: same same thing about du Bois, you know, I mean
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: he got stunned, you know, on his way up, and
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: then for him to go all the way back that
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: would be phenomenal.
- 1:47:38Speaker 2: And obviously we have better be in Bevol the rematch.
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: You know, Beval did a lot of.
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: A lot of good things early in the fight. You know,
- 1:47:51Speaker 1: he was throwing his hands a little bit more.
- 1:47:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he was trying to commit a little bit more
- 1:47:56Speaker 3: earlier in the fight.
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he was combling and it was like, okay, man,
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: he almost it almost felt like it was coming too
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: easy for him, and he couldn't believe it. You know,
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: he's like, well, the man, I could really go off
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: on him. And then you know, as the fight went on,
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: as the body shots piled up, which I do think
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: better Beev is going to pile on more body shots
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: this time. You know, he started to fade. He started
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: to have rounds where he didn't do anything. We know,
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: Bush comes to shove. The last three rounds, he really
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: didn't throw many punches. The only answer is he was
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: hurt or whatever. He didn't want to get.
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: Hurt worse, just doesn't have the mental He doesn't have
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: the mentality, doesn't seem to have the mentality.
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: And it's like, you know, he says, I can't leave
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: it to the judges, okay, but my thing is, and
- 1:48:51Speaker 1: I wrote it down here, like you know, if he
- 1:48:56Speaker 1: does throw more punches. Okay, great, but that's only going
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: to open you up more, right, you know. And then
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: also like it's like if he's in that same similar scenario, right,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: I don't know why I said it like that, but
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: in the same thing same Let's say we feel like
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: it's about a draw. Let's say it's four to four, right,
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: and then down the stretch like he says, it's gonna
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: be different this time, and he's gonna you know, he's
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: gonna close strong. It's like, well, you had the opportunity
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: when you had no losses. I just I think that
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: was his opportunity, John to do it and win the fight,
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: and he didn't do it. So why all of a
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: sudden you're gonna find this energy all of a sudden
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: you're gonna you know, I don't know.
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: I think the timing now, I think the timing. I
- 1:49:49Speaker 3: think the timing in his fight's a little better for
- 1:49:51Speaker 3: better beev because at his age, you know, if it
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: would have come a year year and a half later,
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: he really he might just not have had anything left.
- 1:50:02Speaker 3: But before the first fight, by all accounts, he was
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: legitimately coming off of a niscus injury and he was
- 1:50:08Speaker 3: laid off, and you know, and guy at an advanced age,
- 1:50:12Speaker 3: he was able to come on late and legitimately win
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: the fight. I didn't see the whiners who were saying, oh,
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: Bivall should have gotten a decision. No, Now it was
- 1:50:19Speaker 3: his own fault. He didn't do enough. It's going down
- 1:50:22Speaker 3: and that's the way it goes. You know, it was
- 1:50:25Speaker 3: there for him, but he didn't do enough down the
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: stretch of the fight. Now you know better be of
- 1:50:32Speaker 3: You know, he should be more rehabbed from that knee. Right,
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: he doesn't have any more inactivity than than Bivoll, and
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: you know, he's not getting into his forties where there's
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: just gonna be nothing left. I think if they were
- 1:50:49Speaker 3: going to have this rematch, I think he rightfully questioned
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: what he wanted to do it just because Bivall's not
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: that entertaining of an opponent. Even though it was an
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: intriguing fight, you know, it wasn't total classic barn Burner
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: or something that you know, he might go in a
- 1:51:02Speaker 3: different direction, and I think Turkey al Chic was thinking
- 1:51:05Speaker 3: the same. Then they reverse course. You know, I think
- 1:51:09Speaker 3: maybe you know, Hern being with his own and Bivoll's
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: his guy, and they thought, Okay, we'll do this again.
- 1:51:14Speaker 3: But I think the timing that's better for Better Beef
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: that they're doing it now. And I think when you
- 1:51:18Speaker 3: look at styles now we're getting at a point two
- 1:51:22Speaker 3: where and this is where Bivol's window might start closing.
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: You know, he likes to jump around and box and
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: not be aggressive. Now he's getting up to you know,
- 1:51:32Speaker 3: his mid thirties, there might start being a little being
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: some reflex slowing. Sure, yeah, reflexes slow wame just a
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: little bit, just a little bit, a little bit when
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: you're going against this guy when you're right and when
- 1:51:47Speaker 3: you fight like a puncherla is and when you fight
- 1:51:49Speaker 3: like he does where he's very cautious and things. So
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: I think the timing, you know, it could still be
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: very tight, but I think the timing of the rematch
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: is good for Better VIEV. I think that factor and
- 1:52:04Speaker 3: Bivoll not showing the mentality we needed to see from
- 1:52:08Speaker 3: him late in that first fight, I don't think that's
- 1:52:10Speaker 3: gonna change. So I think that's enough for Better BF
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: to get another win. I mean, you know, Bivol's a
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: very cautious guy in there. Tough to picture him getting stopped.
- 1:52:22Speaker 3: I mean, better b has got the power to stop
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: anybody or break him down late if he hits him enough.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: But Bivoll is a guy that's cautious enough and so
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: focused on his boxing that wouldn't really feel secure picking
- 1:52:38Speaker 3: him to get stopped. But I think that I think
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: that you know, could be close again. But I think
- 1:52:43Speaker 3: better BF probably would be in a little better shape
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: for this rematch and and that should be enough for
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: him to do it again.
- 1:52:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and he may just pick up where he left off.
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: That could happen too, you know.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: Now, of course, you know the old saying of the
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: thirteenth round and the guy who boxes sometimes does have
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: an advantage.
- 1:53:07Speaker 2: But it didn't.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: It didn't end that way, and he wasn't moving his hands.
- 1:53:11Speaker 2: And you know, it's interesting.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: So better be of is a plus eight for knockout, right,
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: but by decision John plus two forty six.
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: So the odds, so the odds makers think he's going
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: to get the stop and you have to read into
- 1:53:32Speaker 3: because that's what they're telling you. Yeah, interesting, but they
- 1:53:36Speaker 3: I think you make a good point there, Chris. It
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: doesn't always happen, but a lot of but you do
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: see it happen sometimes you make an excellent point the
- 1:53:43Speaker 3: way this first fight ended a lot of times when
- 1:53:46Speaker 3: you have a rematch like that, then yeah, that it does.
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: It does kind of continue whenever gave him he took
- 1:53:54Speaker 3: it right, it does kind of continue like that.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: I'm like in other words that at last three rounds
- 1:54:02Speaker 3: especially Bival wasn't doing enough and and better Be at
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: that point was really just walking him down, Yes, which
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: even surprised me a bit that you know, he just
- 1:54:11Speaker 3: he was comfortable just kind of walking him down at
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: that point. He kept doing it. And that's pressure when
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: you're not stopping a guy from doing that to you
- 1:54:19Speaker 3: or frustrating him. Yeah, that that's pressured inn on you.
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: And that's what was happening to Bivall late in that fight.
- 1:54:25Speaker 3: So uh, and you know, we know better beev, we
- 1:54:28Speaker 3: know he brings the power, so uh, your power is
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: the last thing to go. So at his age, that
- 1:54:35Speaker 3: that's the part he has to worry about the least.
- 1:54:37Speaker 3: Presumably you know that the power will still be there
- 1:54:39Speaker 3: as long as he's got the delivery system and enough
- 1:54:42Speaker 3: reflexes to still get there.
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: Yeah, And I just I don't know the the amount
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: of like movement with his legs and just throwing more
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: punches like that, just the things that he's gonna have
- 1:54:56Speaker 1: to do to win this fight. Uh don't. I just
- 1:54:59Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know. I don't know if he
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: has it in him. And I think if he did,
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: he would have showed us, would have showed us in
- 1:55:06Speaker 1: that first fight, you know.
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: I think so too. And with Bivoll usually it doesn't
- 1:55:11Speaker 3: necessarily compare the matter, but with him it does, especially
- 1:55:13Speaker 3: the way you saw the finish in that first fight.
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: He didn't have the mentality to get to get aggressive
- 1:55:19Speaker 3: against lesser opposition that he was dominating and around. So
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: now you're you know, you're asking him to do that
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: against Better Bev, And you and I were both wondering
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: before the first fight because you're wondering how that plays out,
- 1:55:31Speaker 3: Like is he is he going to prove to be
- 1:55:34Speaker 3: a fighter that when he gets threatened with the guy
- 1:55:37Speaker 3: with that that that kind of brings out a dog
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: in him to fight back. Well, that didn't happen with Bivoll.
- 1:55:42Speaker 3: He showed a little bit of flashes early, but then
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: late it was the same old bivel you know, like
- 1:55:48Speaker 3: that didn't come out in him, and Better Beev was
- 1:55:50Speaker 3: just walking him down. So you know, there were some
- 1:55:54Speaker 3: comparisons with that fight, and I thought they were kind
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: of good comparisons, and I was on the side where
- 1:55:59Speaker 3: where you know, eveno it wasn't pretty, I thought Trinidad
- 1:56:01Speaker 3: did pull it off against De la Joya just because
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: De la Joya went into one of those. Yeah, And
- 1:56:07Speaker 3: you know, I thought those were good comparisons for that.
- 1:56:10Speaker 3: Bivol better B have one, you know, like, you know, hey,
- 1:56:14Speaker 3: better B is just walking them down after that, and
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: Bivall is just not doing it anymore. He's not doing anything.
- 1:56:19Speaker 3: But you know, I don't Oscar didn't have the cautious
- 1:56:23Speaker 3: overall mentality that, Yeah.
- 1:56:24Speaker 2: He was definitely putting bigger shots on TV, and it was.
- 1:56:28Speaker 3: More just in that fight that wasn't like a career
- 1:56:31Speaker 3: history for him. Sure, you know, you know, Oscar is
- 1:56:34Speaker 3: getting and he would get lesser opponents out of there
- 1:56:38Speaker 3: and things. You know, Bivall, we've had an unusual problem
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: for Bivoll being a top fighter, like not being willing
- 1:56:44Speaker 3: to step on the gas and get lesser people out
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: of there and stuff. So he's he's been unusually problematic
- 1:56:51Speaker 3: like that, especially.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: With the built in almost default TKO that we have
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: right today. You know, it's kind of a default TKL,
- 1:57:00Speaker 1: like if you move your hands, man, it's a good
- 1:57:03Speaker 1: chance that rev is gonna stop this fight, especially like
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: you said, when it's a lesser opponent where you could
- 1:57:09Speaker 1: clearly see the guy the person doesn't belong in the
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: ring with them for winning purposes. Now here, I just
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: want to throw this at you.
- 1:57:19Speaker 2: So we're both on decision.
- 1:57:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I gotta go to see. Yeah. I just think
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: with Bivol's cautious nature boxing ability, I can't even with
- 1:57:30Speaker 3: better be his power, I can't. I can't pick a
- 1:57:33Speaker 3: stoppage there.
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: And I could see him clinch Moore in this fight too.
- 1:57:39Speaker 1: I do see that. I definitely see him clinch more.
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: Now here's the thought wonder if so it's such a
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: a long, deep card, right and it's no complaints here,
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: This is just a thought process, right. Wonder if they
- 1:57:52Speaker 1: like took like they split up the card and they
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: went three and three and.
- 1:57:57Speaker 2: Then filled out those cards.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Is it almost like they're like shooting their shot and
- 1:58:06Speaker 1: it's too big of a shot for one thing, Like
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: it just it's a great card and I'm I'll you know,
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: I'm glad to watch it.
- 1:58:14Speaker 2: It's phenomenal. It's a deep card.
- 1:58:16Speaker 1: But I heard someone the other day say that, and
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: I thought, huh, that is kind of interesting because you'd
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: still have a deep card if you added another fight
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: to it. I don't know, it just kind of made
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: me think of, like, you know, that's not a bad idea,
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: but I hate to say it because it's such a
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: great card.
- 1:58:36Speaker 2: What are your thoughts on that?
- 1:58:38Speaker 3: But you know what, I have thought about it a lot,
- 1:58:40Speaker 3: But but the more I'm thinking about it, it might
- 1:58:42Speaker 3: be a marketing thing, like where it's because boxing's not
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: marketed like it should now, not getting the exposure because
- 1:58:50Speaker 3: let's look at it this way, you have to be
- 1:58:53Speaker 3: a hardcore. But there's only hardcore people watching this too.
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: If it was if it was saying it was an
- 1:59:00Speaker 3: NFL playoff triple header with a with a with a
- 1:59:04Speaker 3: with a one with a one o'clock, you know, at
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: four o'clock and like at eight o'clock. You know, there's
- 1:59:11Speaker 3: a lot of people in the US who I mean,
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: I've done it, you've done it? Who just watch all
- 1:59:15Speaker 3: those games? It's Year's Day, right, right, New Year's Day?
- 1:59:19Speaker 3: You know, if you kind of like, had it really defined? Well,
- 1:59:21Speaker 3: I mean, I know they're putting times out, but we
- 1:59:23Speaker 3: know that it's not being marketed for us sensibilities. But
- 1:59:26Speaker 3: if I want to say, I mentioned that though, because
- 1:59:29Speaker 3: if I want to say one thing in their favor,
- 1:59:31Speaker 3: the marketing is not there for us sensibilities. But if
- 1:59:35Speaker 3: they were going to do this concept, the time might
- 1:59:39Speaker 3: be right, because you know, I can't in the East.
- 1:59:43Speaker 3: I mean, if if you, let's say it was going
- 1:59:45Speaker 3: to be a card just long, he can't start it
- 1:59:48Speaker 3: at five o'clock and then I'm sitting there at four
- 1:59:50Speaker 3: o'clock in the morning watch the main events. So that's
- 1:59:54Speaker 3: not gonna work that either. I mean, like for an
- 1:59:58Speaker 3: East coaster, this would be the best time to do
- 2:00:02Speaker 3: the way the time setup would be the best. And
- 2:00:05Speaker 3: I've kind of lost sight of that because I think, oh,
- 2:00:06Speaker 3: it's all day, just like you're saying, and I might
- 2:00:08Speaker 3: want to do other things. But when I'm thinking about it,
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: like I'm like, well but I do that for like
- 2:00:12Speaker 3: an NFL playoff or college playoff ball game?
- 2:00:19Speaker 2: Yeah night, you know, yeah, good stuff.
- 2:00:23Speaker 1: I'll keep watching.
- 2:00:23Speaker 3: That's I mean, so it's really and this is good stuff.
- 2:00:26Speaker 3: So it's kind of a when you're it's actually maybe
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: a little deeper that it's just we're just not it's.
- 2:00:32Speaker 1: Just not accustomed to watch. I mean, lately these six
- 2:00:36Speaker 1: hour cards have been a little intense, right, But if
- 2:00:38Speaker 1: it's six you know, if it's five to six hours
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: of this totally different story.
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: Totally different story, where then you got to look at
- 2:00:44Speaker 3: it more like an NFL playoff day, College Bowl playoff
- 2:00:49Speaker 3: day or something like that, where you might do something
- 2:00:52Speaker 3: like that, and this is that kind of quality not
- 2:00:54Speaker 3: accustomed to it, We're not accustomed to it, and it's
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: not really marketed to it. And part of it, again,
- 2:00:58Speaker 3: I think then is the sensibilities. Let's say, even though
- 2:01:01Speaker 3: we're boxing fans and there's some great fights who we're
- 2:01:04Speaker 3: gonna watch them anyway, but let's say maybe you had
- 2:01:06Speaker 3: a lineup of this quality and it was American heavy
- 2:01:11Speaker 3: or you know, with with the fighters or fighters who
- 2:01:14Speaker 3: at least had fought in the US a lot and
- 2:01:16Speaker 3: had big US followings. Because I think about even some
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: of those HBO days, like I was thinking before we
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: get on, like you know, you did have in the nineties,
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: like guys like Andrew Galatta, you know, he's Polish, but
- 2:01:29Speaker 3: you got a lot of Polish Americans in the East.
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: You know, he's fighting to Chicago, Like, you know, people
- 2:01:35Speaker 3: people you know, they know they know about who the
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: guy was pretty quick, you know, and you had other
- 2:01:41Speaker 3: fighters like that. Like so even if like you had
- 2:01:44Speaker 3: these guys we've got Saturday, if some of them had
- 2:01:48Speaker 3: been like like I'm talking about Zang, like he has
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: that potential. Now he's living in Jersey, he trains in
- 2:01:54Speaker 3: New York, but like he's not getting the exposed. You know,
- 2:01:57Speaker 3: he's not getting the exposure. Like people aren't watching Jang
- 2:02:00Speaker 3: on his own, you know, like too bad. You know,
- 2:02:03Speaker 3: he has the personality, has the potential to personalit.
- 2:02:06Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:02:06Speaker 3: Now he's had some you know, ESPN Plus and stuff,
- 2:02:08Speaker 3: you know, I mean not the real high profile where
- 2:02:11Speaker 3: a lot of us people would be seeing them. Just
- 2:02:15Speaker 3: saying like maybe if if we had the fighters who
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: had that kind of us exposure at least, maybe we
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: could look at this all day thing and we'd be
- 2:02:23Speaker 3: maybe looking at it a little bit differently.
- 2:02:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's true. That was just kind of interesting
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: at that. You know, could it be two separate cards?
- 2:02:32Speaker 1: You know, are they going like could they ever match
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: this again, that's right. I don't know. I really don't
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: know if they can match. It's gonna be tough, like
- 2:02:44Speaker 1: really like if you go off odds, I don't see
- 2:02:47Speaker 1: anyone being the match this. You know, Yeah, this is good.
- 2:02:52Speaker 3: This is good. I mean it's it's good and I'm
- 2:02:54Speaker 3: glad it's at a time where we're going to be
- 2:02:56Speaker 3: able to see it. But you got to devote your
- 2:03:00Speaker 3: whole day. And I'm not saying that.
- 2:03:03Speaker 1: Winter at least that that helps that it's it's been
- 2:03:07Speaker 1: cold enough. Yeah, yeah, it'd be it'd be interesting. Like
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: I said, I understand. You know, we'll get pushed I
- 2:03:14Speaker 1: get pushed back from the show when you know when
- 2:03:17Speaker 1: we say that, you know, it's just it's nothing against
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: its own. It's just you know that that that car
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: back in August was a bailable on three different platforms.
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: You know. Now I'm not saying it went through the
- 2:03:32Speaker 1: roof because obviously it didn't, but like you know, it
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: just goes back to the growth thing. You know, we
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: keep and then now we're hearing oh no, boxing just
- 2:03:43Speaker 1: moving to the east as if it's like organically happy,
- 2:03:46Speaker 1: you know, are you sure?
- 2:03:48Speaker 2: Like so the the biggest market now isn't the US.
- 2:03:51Speaker 2: It's like really.
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: Really right they say.
- 2:03:55Speaker 3: That, but the money, right, but the money produced in
- 2:03:58Speaker 3: most of those other areas doesn't back it up because
- 2:04:01Speaker 3: you only have a few guys like that now in
- 2:04:03Speaker 3: a way came out on that list, that would be
- 2:04:05Speaker 3: really a first time a guy that small did thirty
- 2:04:08Speaker 3: five million reported in earnings, So that proved that in Japan. Yes,
- 2:04:13Speaker 3: we know his ratings are high, proves the money's there
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: with it, and you know you got Fury and Husick
- 2:04:18Speaker 3: making that money, you know, Ukrainian British guy. But but
- 2:04:22Speaker 3: still that's like, but that's not like all in one
- 2:04:25Speaker 3: country or anything. Yeah, it's in different countries in the US,
- 2:04:28Speaker 3: but it's not like they're not like markets where it's
- 2:04:31Speaker 3: like every boxer that's fighting in Japan or in the
- 2:04:36Speaker 3: UK or in or who's Ukrainian is making a fort
- 2:04:41Speaker 3: and it's just you know, these these these few guys.
- 2:04:44Speaker 1: It also proves that you don't want to have any
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: way out of Japan too many more times though in
- 2:04:49Speaker 1: a row, because they got something going, you know, so
- 2:04:53Speaker 1: and you can go there and make a bunch of money.
- 2:04:55Speaker 2: So I just hope that they don't.
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: You know, it does sound like there's gonna be cards
- 2:05:01Speaker 1: here and all that, but you know, I just hope
- 2:05:06Speaker 1: that they don't go away because, like like I said,
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: it's not organically happening.
- 2:05:10Speaker 3: Right, you know, right, But if you want to be
- 2:05:13Speaker 3: crazy at even though it's a YouTube thing and an influencer,
- 2:05:17Speaker 3: you can't totally count it out though, because the guy's boxing.
- 2:05:19Speaker 3: But Jake Paul made forty four million three, so he's
- 2:05:24Speaker 3: the highest paid American American boxer. Yeah, but he's up there,
- 2:05:29Speaker 3: you know, with forty four millions. So again it's Jake Paul,
- 2:05:33Speaker 3: but he's boxing. And you know Cadelo was at seventy
- 2:05:36Speaker 3: eight million or something.
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: Okay, so he's a second big I'm counting his.
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: Mexican You know, he spends a lot of time in
- 2:05:42Speaker 3: San Diego, you know, appeals to us sensibilities, but his
- 2:05:46Speaker 3: fights are free on Mexican TV, so you know he's Mexican.
- 2:05:50Speaker 3: But yeah, Cadelo was. I think he was on there
- 2:05:52Speaker 3: at seventy eight million. These numbers seem credible, so I
- 2:05:55Speaker 3: guess it Sportico. But so you always want to make
- 2:05:57Speaker 3: a note when you see a list like that that
- 2:05:59Speaker 3: looks credible. So when we're talking in these ideas, at
- 2:06:02Speaker 3: least you have something a little more concrete. So this
- 2:06:05Speaker 3: is just off the top of my head, not googling.
- 2:06:07Speaker 3: It was like Fury one forty four mil, yeah, two,
- 2:06:11Speaker 3: which we can read the Saudi you know, put in
- 2:06:14Speaker 3: the two fights to it makes sense, gives you a
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: little idea of what they're getting paid two fights, Canelo
- 2:06:20Speaker 3: seventy eight million, Joshua sixty million, which these all kind
- 2:06:25Speaker 3: of makes sense. Then Jake Paul like forty four million
- 2:06:30Speaker 3: in a way thirty five right, yeah, and it makes
- 2:06:34Speaker 3: it actually makes sense.
- 2:06:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it seems like a linees up and there's
- 2:06:38Speaker 1: other it's not just a boxing list, right, it's right.
- 2:06:43Speaker 3: These were the guys on the list that were boxers. Yeah.
- 2:06:46Speaker 3: And then so they pulled out the boxers, you know, right,
- 2:06:49Speaker 3: and these were the boxer But the boxers that's where
- 2:06:51Speaker 3: it's still as wild for boxing. I mean, you had
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: guys they were right up there, like I think Fury
- 2:06:56Speaker 3: was three or something like that, you know, so so
- 2:07:00Speaker 3: they're still up that that's the argument for free market
- 2:07:03Speaker 3: and boxing. I mean, you know, so boxers it's just
- 2:07:05Speaker 3: a few, but in all sports they were near, you know,
- 2:07:10Speaker 3: a few were near the top.
- 2:07:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's not just us being biased because we're
- 2:07:15Speaker 1: an American. Sure that's in there someplace, no doubt. But
- 2:07:19Speaker 1: you know, to just you can't ignore the market either,
- 2:07:22Speaker 1: you know, right, just it just it just makes no sense,
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: you know. So I I hope it's it is a
- 2:07:30Speaker 1: path of both. Like real quick, we didn't talk about,
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: but Canelos signed a four fight deal and three out
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: of the four fights are gonna be inside.
- 2:07:39Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, to me, this is at.
- 2:07:43Speaker 1: Least a second is going to be here in September.
- 2:07:46Speaker 3: But but it's like to me, like the second at
- 2:07:48Speaker 3: least the second time in his career, and the way
- 2:07:51Speaker 3: I've put it, i'd put it before, I thought this
- 2:07:54Speaker 3: was another instance of this. And I don't know which
- 2:07:56Speaker 3: of the two it is. Either Canelo does and you know,
- 2:08:01Speaker 3: when he gets to a certain point he doesn't understand
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: taking himself to the next level for us sensibilities, because
- 2:08:09Speaker 3: I would think that would matter to him with how
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: much time he spends here and you know, with his
- 2:08:14Speaker 3: fan base and everything, or he doesn't care and he's
- 2:08:16Speaker 3: on that list, he's on that list, on that list,
- 2:08:18Speaker 3: right money, Yeah, so he made plenty of money. Yeah,
- 2:08:21Speaker 3: seventy eight million. He's generating it, like right, so he's yeah,
- 2:08:25Speaker 3: so he's generating it's canal Canal is seventy eight million.
- 2:08:28Speaker 3: But you know, like, and especially at the stage of
- 2:08:31Speaker 3: the career, he's a like to me, even no matter
- 2:08:35Speaker 3: what the numbers are, it doesn't make sense, like, you know,
- 2:08:38Speaker 3: why not fight Jake Paul? I mean, think of the
- 2:08:42Speaker 3: money it would make. You Just saw the team numbers
- 2:08:44Speaker 3: they're at. Jake Paul's at forty four billion, Canals at
- 2:08:48Speaker 3: seventy eight That tells you the money they're generating basically,
- 2:08:51Speaker 3: so you.
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: Know he's gonna be on Netflix again.
- 2:08:55Speaker 3: Yeah, easy win. For Get the exposure on Netflix. Like
- 2:08:59Speaker 3: I said, I think you would end up close to
- 2:09:02Speaker 3: fight time getting pearl clutchers for Canelo. Believe it. I
- 2:09:05Speaker 3: would say, well, he's got a it's that two hundred.
- 2:09:07Speaker 3: He's only five nine and he's got a weigh in
- 2:09:09Speaker 3: at two hundred, right, even though I think it'd be
- 2:09:12Speaker 3: an easy ko for Canelo, he's going way up and
- 2:09:16Speaker 3: weight and yet, yeah, then just sign for the Crawford fight,
- 2:09:19Speaker 3: you know, maybe do a one fight deal or something,
- 2:09:23Speaker 3: and you.
- 2:09:23Speaker 2: Know, better promotion than to be on Netflix before.
- 2:09:29Speaker 1: A Crawford fight.
- 2:09:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and then if better Bev comes out of this
- 2:09:34Speaker 3: Bivol rematch, I mean even he's got to get old.
- 2:09:37Speaker 3: Everybody's got to get old.
- 2:09:38Speaker 5: Ye.
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: So, like you know, you've got that light heavyweight, the
- 2:09:42Speaker 3: real white heavyweight title. That could be your finale. You know,
- 2:09:45Speaker 3: you take the shot that better Bev's gotten older, or
- 2:09:48Speaker 3: even if it's Bivol, but he's gotten older, you go
- 2:09:50Speaker 3: for the rematch there that would be a fitting finale.
- 2:09:54Speaker 3: Or if he wants the finale to be Benavidez or
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: something like, why not like Paul Crawford, that's a lot
- 2:09:59Speaker 3: of money. Then you fight like a Benavidez or a
- 2:10:03Speaker 3: bi of All better be of Winter and Ryan to
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: the Sunset or something. Yeah, this and then there the
- 2:10:09Speaker 3: skull and this nonsense with Alpha.
- 2:10:15Speaker 1: And now they're gonna do that two times undisputed. Right,
- 2:10:19Speaker 1: he handed him the belt and now he's taking it back.
- 2:10:23Speaker 3: That's all the alphabet nonsense. And which is the bad right,
- 2:10:27Speaker 3: just the bad parts of the game. And then other
- 2:10:29Speaker 3: fights they're talking about on they're not good. But I
- 2:10:31Speaker 3: don't I don't, I don't get it. I don't get it.
- 2:10:35Speaker 3: I don't get it, but to me, it's it's it's
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: basically the same decision Canelo made. It I thought was
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: a bad one that in a way he did turn
- 2:10:43Speaker 3: back on where he signed with his own the first time.
- 2:10:46Speaker 3: You know, just kind of he decreased and his numbers
- 2:10:50Speaker 3: were going down then, you know, like in terms of
- 2:10:52Speaker 3: viewership they really were. You know, he had to he
- 2:10:54Speaker 3: had to kind of build that back up. Now yeah,
- 2:10:59Speaker 3: kind of you know, got it built back up some
- 2:11:01Speaker 3: and now he's gonna go back to you know this,
- 2:11:03Speaker 3: I don't you know.
- 2:11:06Speaker 1: When I noticed John that, I heard a couple of
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: people say, well, man, Turkey really saved multiple platforms and
- 2:11:16Speaker 1: and keep Netflix out of boxing.
- 2:11:18Speaker 3: And it's like that makes you want to in boxing?
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: What are you talking about? You know? And it's just
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: so funny because it goes back to that Al Hayman thing.
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: They it's like, well, you weren't like, hold on, wait
- 2:11:34Speaker 1: a second, on, so if canelogos the Netflix and let's say,
- 2:11:39Speaker 1: you know, Al wasn't gonna have something to do that,
- 2:11:41Speaker 1: but let's say it wasn't. Is that going to be
- 2:11:43Speaker 1: bad then? Because it hurts No, it's it's it's exposure.
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: You either care for the sport or you don't. You know,
- 2:11:51Speaker 1: it was Turkey saved the day.
- 2:11:55Speaker 3: Really now, I even reposted it because.
- 2:12:00Speaker 1: Sitated stuff. Okay, you sign a four year deal, your
- 2:12:03Speaker 1: first fight's a gum, isn't that Haven't we seen that
- 2:12:06Speaker 1: before in boxing? That's nothing.
- 2:12:09Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's crazy. But like Jake Paul was
- 2:12:12Speaker 3: making sense, like when this deal fell through, like what
- 2:12:15Speaker 3: he said afterward, he was making some sense. I mean
- 2:12:19Speaker 3: he was like, you know, I've got the you know,
- 2:12:21Speaker 3: this is the best marketing for the sport. He was
- 2:12:24Speaker 3: talking like a businessman, but he was a businessman. That
- 2:12:26Speaker 3: was correct because we were just talking about it a
- 2:12:28Speaker 3: couple of weeks before that, like you know, yeah, you
- 2:12:30Speaker 3: can laugh at a Canelo Paul fight, but if you
- 2:12:32Speaker 3: really want the sport to get the exposure of sports
- 2:12:34Speaker 3: desperate And then Jake Paul was saying that like after
- 2:12:37Speaker 3: it's like, hey, you know, this was the opportunity to
- 2:12:39Speaker 3: get on Netflix, get eyeballs to the sport. I mean
- 2:12:42Speaker 3: that was all true. That really all was true.
- 2:12:46Speaker 1: And yeah, an emphasis on the meaning of the fight
- 2:12:52Speaker 1: or something, right, right, It's just you know, but like
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: I said last week, John, I don't think they realized
- 2:12:59Speaker 1: what asuals think of this sport. They already think it's
- 2:13:03Speaker 1: beyond corrupt. They already think it's a joke. So if
- 2:13:06Speaker 1: you're gonna sit there, oh we can't What do you mean, dude,
- 2:13:09Speaker 1: what can't we do in this damn?
- 2:13:11Speaker 3: Oh exactly, that's part of that's part of the crazy
- 2:13:14Speaker 3: charm of.
- 2:13:14Speaker 2: Bombas Zucker be ugly. You're not happy of it.
- 2:13:17Speaker 3: Okay, it is what it is, but you know, like
- 2:13:20Speaker 3: you said, one benefit get out of it too, is
- 2:13:23Speaker 3: there's a lot that now we're at a point where
- 2:13:25Speaker 3: there's a lot of people that want to see Jake
- 2:13:26Speaker 3: Paul get knocked out. Yes, I mean there's a lot
- 2:13:30Speaker 3: of there's a lot of people that want to see
- 2:13:32Speaker 3: that knockout cash out of Jake. Oh, that's gonna be building.
- 2:13:36Speaker 3: There's gonna be a big base building up for that.
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: So and then got that Jake did say he was
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: gonna fight Canelo at some point a couple of years ago,
- 2:13:44Speaker 1: and then he can be pushing that like, hey, I
- 2:13:46Speaker 1: told you guys.
- 2:13:47Speaker 2: You guys laughed at me, you know, And and so
- 2:13:49Speaker 2: it's a build.
- 2:13:50Speaker 1: And it is what it is. You know, some of
- 2:13:52Speaker 1: these people were pumped about the Jake Paul Tice and fight,
- 2:13:55Speaker 1: but now they don't want to do this, right, what
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: are we doing here? You know, Like I don't think
- 2:14:01Speaker 1: they get that. They most people think boxing is a joke, right,
- 2:14:06Speaker 1: I mean, that's it. It sucks, but it's true. They
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: already think it's corrupt and people aren't you're not getting
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: those people back.
- 2:14:14Speaker 3: No, they're not seen enough. We need things where the
- 2:14:17Speaker 3: people are gonna at least see it. So the Polkyson
- 2:14:19Speaker 3: was a joke, but then you got people watching it,
- 2:14:21Speaker 3: like like, at least the Paul Canelo is better than that,
- 2:14:25Speaker 3: as crazy as that is to say, because of the
- 2:14:28Speaker 3: ages of the guys. So you know, like and and
- 2:14:30Speaker 3: a lot of people want to see Jake Paul get
- 2:14:32Speaker 3: knocked out at this point, so you know, and and
- 2:14:34Speaker 3: Canelo at least is at least Canelo has got the
- 2:14:37Speaker 3: biggest name today.
- 2:14:39Speaker 1: So and when you look at the odds, they're right
- 2:14:43Speaker 1: in the same pole park.
- 2:14:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's the thing, Like you're even when
- 2:14:49Speaker 3: you know, well it is really And when I put
- 2:14:53Speaker 3: it out there, Steven Spinosa, he did give a repost
- 2:14:59Speaker 3: on it, like your Draft Kings made a you know,
- 2:15:02Speaker 3: they're working. You know, gambling became we guys, of course
- 2:15:05Speaker 3: all the markets are doing. But they just turned a
- 2:15:07Speaker 3: big profit. Like that was a big stock news deal.
- 2:15:10Speaker 3: This has been in the last week. Why it's directly
- 2:15:13Speaker 3: boxing related is because one thing they've become real good
- 2:15:16Speaker 3: or early on and we should be paying attention to
- 2:15:19Speaker 3: as hardcore boxing people, is they're all over boxing now.
- 2:15:23Speaker 3: I mean the Draft Kings logo. You look at all
- 2:15:25Speaker 3: these fights TBC top like, I mean, they're everywhere, so
- 2:15:29Speaker 3: like they're they're in it, you know what I mean,
- 2:15:30Speaker 3: Like they're in it. And if you go on Draft Kings,
- 2:15:33Speaker 3: you know you always see boxing popping up and stuff,
- 2:15:35Speaker 3: so like like they're in it. They turned you know,
- 2:15:38Speaker 3: they they turned a real good profit. The stock went
- 2:15:41Speaker 3: went way up. That's an indirect kind of good thing
- 2:15:45Speaker 3: for boxing because you know, boxing has had trouble getting
- 2:15:48Speaker 3: sponsors and stuff, and they're they're all they're all a
- 2:15:52Speaker 3: fresh news sponsor too, right, and and you know live
- 2:15:55Speaker 3: sports matters to them because you can't gamble want to
- 2:15:57Speaker 3: take a fight, so you know, like that that's a connection.
- 2:16:01Speaker 3: So I mean, like these are the things you got
- 2:16:05Speaker 3: to be looking at. So like if if Jake Paul
- 2:16:08Speaker 3: and Cadello, if you can get betting action, like even
- 2:16:10Speaker 3: if people have the illusion that it generates betting action,
- 2:16:14Speaker 3: that they're thinking, oh, well, Paul's bigger than them, you know,
- 2:16:17Speaker 3: that's all you need. I mean, then people start betting
- 2:16:19Speaker 3: on it, and you got more eyeballs on it and
- 2:16:21Speaker 3: boxing up that momentum.
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: Young people would be on that fight, you know.
- 2:16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, my nieces know who Jake Paul is.
- 2:16:28Speaker 3: You know, like what, I'm still in high school, like,
- 2:16:30Speaker 3: you know, it's just you know, my brother used to
- 2:16:32Speaker 3: be a hardcore fan and he's kind of he's one
- 2:16:35Speaker 3: of the people that's become disillusioned. As we know, you
- 2:16:37Speaker 3: can't blame anybody, so he drifted out of it. But
- 2:16:40Speaker 3: it's like, my nieces know who, Like, they know who
- 2:16:43Speaker 3: Jake Paul. They know he's got oh he's got a
- 2:16:45Speaker 3: fight covering guy. He's got a fight covering guy.
- 2:16:49Speaker 1: Yeah. It's it's I just I don't think people will
- 2:16:51Speaker 1: grasp it's just one fight, and the deal called for
- 2:16:54Speaker 1: a one off. It was a one of off, you know,
- 2:16:56Speaker 1: so it's like I just don't understand.
- 2:16:58Speaker 3: I don't I really don't get it either, I mean,
- 2:17:01Speaker 3: just because can I mean, you've got a problem.
- 2:17:03Speaker 1: Thank god he didn't do it, like you, Who are
- 2:17:08Speaker 1: we thinking?
- 2:17:09Speaker 3: That's what I said, who we think it for what it's.
- 2:17:12Speaker 1: And like I said, if Turkey wants to flip this
- 2:17:15Speaker 1: sport on his head, cool, But that's a run of
- 2:17:18Speaker 1: the meal side deal that I'm looking at.
- 2:17:20Speaker 3: And what I don't get too is like over paid.
- 2:17:23Speaker 3: Why why doesn't Why doesn't Turkey they're overpaying anyway? Like
- 2:17:27Speaker 3: why doesn't he overpay Jake Paul to be on to
- 2:17:30Speaker 3: be on one of these cards?
- 2:17:32Speaker 1: Right? What I think Jacob turn right around and be
- 2:17:35Speaker 1: like see later Netflix? You know what I mean? Like right.
- 2:17:39Speaker 3: Everything else? I mean, you know, overpay for a Jake
- 2:17:42Speaker 3: Paul and put him on the card. I mean why not?
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: I mean that that that's like kind of the creed.
- 2:17:47Speaker 3: You know, there needs, like we keep saying, there needs
- 2:17:49Speaker 3: to be some creative marketing. One thing you and I
- 2:17:52Speaker 3: called for is no pay per view, or at least
- 2:17:54Speaker 3: get it down, right. They got the cost down and
- 2:17:56Speaker 3: still be better have no pay per view, but at
- 2:17:58Speaker 3: least it's low enough where they are listening somewhat to that.
- 2:18:01Speaker 3: But they need to do more.
- 2:18:04Speaker 1: And if you stumble upon it, most people that are
- 2:18:08Speaker 1: combat sports, when they see it twenty five, I think
- 2:18:11Speaker 1: it does make a difference. But if they see it,
- 2:18:14Speaker 1: you know, you can't rely on the day of someone
- 2:18:17Speaker 1: on Twitter going oh wow, you know, and.
- 2:18:19Speaker 3: They don't make it as easy to get as they should,
- 2:18:21Speaker 3: Like you got to sign out for his own monthly
- 2:18:24Speaker 3: to subscription and cancel. It's the I told that guy.
- 2:18:27Speaker 1: I told him about pay per view dot com. He
- 2:18:29Speaker 1: never heard that, so I had to. I had to
- 2:18:32Speaker 1: explain it, and you know, say, hey, you don't need
- 2:18:35Speaker 1: to have a subscription to do this, you know, but
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: I had to explain it to him. He don't He
- 2:18:39Speaker 1: doesn't notice that. He doesn't notice that, you know, he
- 2:18:42Speaker 1: wants to watch fights though he does want to, you know.
- 2:18:45Speaker 1: He literally the first thing he said was where do
- 2:18:48Speaker 1: I watch fights? He's like, yeah, that's what we're dealing
- 2:18:51Speaker 1: with right now. You know.
- 2:18:53Speaker 3: No, And at Steven Espinosa years back said, could you know, hey,
- 2:18:57Speaker 3: he's one of the top broadcast guys and he still
- 2:18:59Speaker 3: can helping on it. He said that he felt one
- 2:19:03Speaker 3: of the biggest problems have become that just the way
- 2:19:05Speaker 3: you described it that the casual fan, the potential casual
- 2:19:09Speaker 3: fan didn't even know where what to watch it him
- 2:19:13Speaker 3: for boxing, and that really is true, Like they don't
- 2:19:16Speaker 3: even it's that bad, Like they don't they're like where
- 2:19:19Speaker 3: where do I watch it? Or who who am I
- 2:19:20Speaker 3: supposed to watch? And it's not clear, you know, you
- 2:19:23Speaker 3: can't go by the dumb alphabet stuff and everything, and
- 2:19:25Speaker 3: that's what gets marketed. So it's like, right, there's no
- 2:19:28Speaker 3: direction pointing a casual fan what to watch except somebody
- 2:19:32Speaker 3: like Jake Paul. So again, that's kind of what we're
- 2:19:34Speaker 3: getting at, like we got if they got to start somewhere,
- 2:19:37Speaker 3: and maybe that's the circus aspect of it still, right,
- 2:19:40Speaker 3: you know who Jake Paul is.
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we're not saying hits the future to him, you
- 2:19:45Speaker 1: know him.
- 2:19:47Speaker 3: I've never advocated that, Right, he's done his thing now.
- 2:19:52Speaker 1: He clearly wants to cash out, So let's cash him out,
- 2:19:55Speaker 1: you know exactly. Yeah, all right, John, I sciates you
- 2:20:00Speaker 1: going longer than normal.
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: We had a lot of fights.
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this is uh, it's hard to make predictions for
- 2:20:07Speaker 1: all these damn fights.
- 2:20:08Speaker 3: You know, Yeah, this is one. This is one period
- 2:20:11Speaker 3: this week with last week and then of course the
- 2:20:14Speaker 3: huge week this week that yeah, it's justified. We have
- 2:20:16Speaker 3: we have to put the time and this is a
- 2:20:18Speaker 3: this is a rare week.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: All right, you have a good one and take it easy.
- 2:20:22Speaker 3: All right. Christ's good being with you guys always, all right,
- 2:20:25Speaker 3: take care.
- 2:20:30Speaker 1: All right. So just a couple of little things here
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: to kind of.
- 2:20:36Speaker 2: Just to go minorly.
- 2:20:38Speaker 1: Then I'm gonnae it out here because it has been
- 2:20:39Speaker 1: pretty long, but just to break down the the Ortiz
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: modrum of fight a little bit more. You know, I
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: think both of them have very good jabs. At times,
- 2:20:54Speaker 1: they leave themselves open while jabbing. And I think, you know,
- 2:21:02Speaker 1: because obviously magic my lunges, like I said, a little
- 2:21:05Speaker 1: too much. But but you see ortis not necessarily lunging,
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: but leaving himself open as well. And just his hand
- 2:21:13Speaker 1: placement I've seen it pointed out. I thought of myself
- 2:21:18Speaker 1: as well, where you're just like man, his hands are
- 2:21:21Speaker 1: in a very vulnerable spot. So I would say ortis
- 2:21:24Speaker 1: definitely has to keep his hands higher now instead of,
- 2:21:28Speaker 1: like I said, relying pretty much solely on upper body
- 2:21:32Speaker 1: and head movement. But it's not that he can't do
- 2:21:37Speaker 1: that because he can't. He's actually I'm not gonna call
- 2:21:40Speaker 1: him slick, but he's more talented than you think. Yeah,
- 2:21:44Speaker 1: he's been in brawls, but he is more talented, I think.
- 2:21:50Speaker 1: You know, then you think, and then when they're up close,
- 2:21:55Speaker 1: you know, the high guard, both of them do kind
- 2:21:58Speaker 1: of get in that thing and and and I think
- 2:22:02Speaker 1: that's the key. Who will land the better shots on
- 2:22:05Speaker 1: their opponent in the high guard. And actually both of
- 2:22:10Speaker 1: them faint a lot too, And I think that's kind
- 2:22:14Speaker 1: of an interesting.
- 2:22:14Speaker 5: Thing, like who wins in the exchanges, who wins, you know,
- 2:22:22Speaker 5: who gets the I think I think Arties will get
- 2:22:24Speaker 5: the better on the inside, But if he opens up
- 2:22:29Speaker 5: and there's an exchange in there, mandra Mov.
- 2:22:31Speaker 1: Could do his thing. So I think some of the
- 2:22:35Speaker 1: stuff you see when Madrumov is under control coming forward,
- 2:22:39Speaker 1: I think it is a lot of good stuff. And
- 2:22:41Speaker 1: he does use angles. He's on this side then that side,
- 2:22:44Speaker 1: and he's ready to punch. But I do think that
- 2:22:47Speaker 1: Arties can match enough of that. So I'm I do
- 2:22:54Speaker 1: think it will be decision to the uh better at Bivil.
- 2:23:02Speaker 1: Like I said, if he does throw more two and
- 2:23:05Speaker 1: three punch combos, you know, that's gonna open up his defense,
- 2:23:11Speaker 1: and I just don't know if you know, I don't
- 2:23:16Speaker 1: know if he can you know, like I mentioned be
- 2:23:21Speaker 1: in that same scenario and then close strong. I'll say this,
- 2:23:28Speaker 1: like Bivil his jab, his whole his left hand in general,
- 2:23:33Speaker 1: his jab and his left hook was very effective in
- 2:23:36Speaker 1: that fight. For a long time. He countered really well
- 2:23:39Speaker 1: with the right hand off of the turbie of his jab,
- 2:23:45Speaker 1: either a right hand or like a one to two.
- 2:23:47Speaker 1: He had time for a one to two in there.
- 2:23:50Speaker 1: And there's times where better be Of was kind of
- 2:23:55Speaker 1: shelled up, because he shells up a lot, but it's
- 2:23:57Speaker 1: a different type of show up where he's looking to
- 2:23:59Speaker 1: snow punch you, but he will let you get some
- 2:24:03Speaker 1: punches off, you know, and then he closes the gap.
- 2:24:07Speaker 1: And you know, there were times where he probably could
- 2:24:12Speaker 1: have landed an extra punch or two, and I don't
- 2:24:15Speaker 1: think he took it fully. Advantage that you have to
- 2:24:18Speaker 1: anytime that there's not much coming back, you have to
- 2:24:22Speaker 1: take advantage of that with this guy. Better bee Of
- 2:24:27Speaker 1: eventually cut off the ring, he started attacking the body.
- 2:24:30Speaker 1: He forced Bibil to show up in that work right
- 2:24:34Speaker 1: just dropped so look for Bibel to not shell up
- 2:24:39Speaker 1: as much, and instead I think you'll see clinching more.
- 2:24:43Speaker 1: I think, like I mentioned too, better be a we'll
- 2:24:45Speaker 1: go to the body earlier. Just wanted to kind of
- 2:24:50Speaker 1: add a little bit into that. But it's a phenomenal card.
- 2:24:53Speaker 1: Like I said, it's it's just so deep, like I
- 2:24:58Speaker 1: don't know how much time, you know, how much I
- 2:25:00Speaker 1: could say. It's like, it's just I just don't know
- 2:25:05Speaker 1: if they could ever match this card again because of
- 2:25:09Speaker 1: you know, the plus two hundred and down, plus one
- 2:25:13Speaker 1: eighty and down for the underdog. It's pretty crazy. It
- 2:25:17Speaker 1: is crazy, you know, looking at I think it's Josh Padley.
- 2:25:24Speaker 2: I believe who.
- 2:25:27Speaker 1: Who uh Shakoor. It's probably gonna fight. I think I
- 2:25:35Speaker 1: read someplace that he was the twelfth in the WBC.
- 2:25:40Speaker 1: I know he fought Chamberlain. He beat Chamberlain not all
- 2:25:45Speaker 1: that long ago, so.
- 2:25:49Speaker 3: You know, it is what it is.
- 2:25:52Speaker 1: But yeah, supposedly Floyd Schofield was sick. But as Jake
- 2:25:58Speaker 1: Donovan says, right here, this is where Floyd Senior does
- 2:26:02Speaker 1: his son of disservice. Everyone's already calling Floyd Junior or Duck.
- 2:26:06Speaker 1: Yet as noted below it was the commission called to
- 2:26:11Speaker 1: pull him out from the show, but posting dumb stuff
- 2:26:14Speaker 1: like they poisoned my son. It's true, It's like, what
- 2:26:19Speaker 1: are we talking about, dude, they poisoned my son? Is
- 2:26:22Speaker 1: this uh you know, is this snack work Chaquur's massage?
- 2:26:30Speaker 1: Lady wiped a cream on my son? So you think
- 2:26:35Speaker 1: the cream, Like when I first saw the cream thing,
- 2:26:39Speaker 1: I thought, you mean they're trying to like put something
- 2:26:42Speaker 1: in so he'll pop on a test, you know, But yeah,
- 2:26:47Speaker 1: to do this, it's just it's kind of like you
- 2:26:52Speaker 1: just don't know what to believe sometimes what comes out
- 2:26:55Speaker 1: of that dude's mouth. He's talking about how the you know,
- 2:27:00Speaker 1: they're planting drugs in the car and they you know,
- 2:27:05Speaker 1: just some random ship. And then, like I said, it
- 2:27:08Speaker 1: goes back to when you see what he was doing
- 2:27:11Speaker 1: to that that woman on cameras, Like I've always had
- 2:27:16Speaker 1: a bad vibe with that dude. And when you do
- 2:27:19Speaker 1: stuff like this, man, it just it just it really
- 2:27:25Speaker 1: does make you worse man. And I don't think he
- 2:27:27Speaker 1: necessarily knows that. I did see Lance Pugmer tweet that
- 2:27:32Speaker 1: Benavidez has accepted the invitation for Turkey and he will
- 2:27:36Speaker 1: be attending it. And you know, the WBC maintains that
- 2:27:42Speaker 1: Benevitez is next to the line, so that would be phenomenal.
- 2:27:50Speaker 1: And like I've said before, if Turkey wants to have
- 2:27:53Speaker 1: that fight over there, Ben if he just got to
- 2:27:54Speaker 1: do what he's got to do. You know, he's not
- 2:27:57Speaker 1: Canelo yet. You know, I don't think he'll ever be
- 2:28:01Speaker 1: that popular, but he had he's really grown his his
- 2:28:05Speaker 1: fan base here. But going for a fight over there
- 2:28:10Speaker 1: and then coming back, he's young enough to be good
- 2:28:13Speaker 1: to go. So when I say Canelo will fight three,
- 2:28:16Speaker 1: you know that I'm kind of disappointed that he'd fight
- 2:28:18Speaker 1: three out of the sport fights over in Sadi. You know,
- 2:28:22Speaker 1: I think that you need your start fighting in the
- 2:28:25Speaker 1: star market for him. But with Benifitdez, since Canela won't
- 2:28:30Speaker 1: fight him, I think if if push comes to shove,
- 2:28:33Speaker 1: you're gonna get a ton of money. And like we
- 2:28:36Speaker 1: said earlier, whether people see that or not as much,
- 2:28:41Speaker 1: I don't think it hurts you, you know.
- 2:28:44Speaker 2: And I saw brunch boxing shots out.
- 2:28:46Speaker 1: To Matt and Company as you're and everyone breaking news
- 2:28:52Speaker 1: about Marco's Madonna in a in a in a motorcycle
- 2:28:58Speaker 1: accident and I did see you know that clip and
- 2:29:01Speaker 1: he not up the vaccinent, but you know, he he
- 2:29:05Speaker 1: looked like it shook him up some. So hopefully, you know,
- 2:29:09Speaker 1: hopefully he can be okay. So yeah, I mean, like,
- 2:29:15Speaker 1: here's an example. Someone on Twitter said, North America clearly,
- 2:29:19Speaker 1: clearly isn't the primary audience anymore.
- 2:29:23Speaker 2: And they say, shoe other foot right, and they laugh haha.
- 2:29:28Speaker 1: And this is This is Steven Sorby and Mark Otega
- 2:29:32Speaker 1: having a conversation and he said, we're getting great fights.
- 2:29:35Speaker 1: Ortega said this, we're getting great fights, but I keep
- 2:29:38Speaker 1: but I have to keep a window open from eight
- 2:29:40Speaker 1: forty five am to four thirty open in order to
- 2:29:44Speaker 1: see them all. Seems like a terrible plan, uh, continually
- 2:29:48Speaker 1: to ask your audience to commit that much time and
- 2:29:50Speaker 1: pay for the whole card. Also pay for the card
- 2:29:54Speaker 1: at least give the first two fights away for free.
- 2:29:57Speaker 1: Now that part I don't I don't know about all that.
- 2:30:00Speaker 1: But to say the North America, north America clearly isn't
- 2:30:04Speaker 1: the primary audience anymore, well, what is the primary audience?
- 2:30:09Speaker 1: Are you saying that Desadi is the primary audience for
- 2:30:14Speaker 1: this or are you saying UK now is the primary
- 2:30:19Speaker 1: audience because when they were going to Dubois Dubai, De
- 2:30:25Speaker 1: bois I said, Dubois Dubai like Dubai. When they were
- 2:30:30Speaker 1: going there and in other places as well, it was
- 2:30:34Speaker 1: hurting the UK market clearly, you know, they weren't having
- 2:30:39Speaker 1: big fights there and it does affect it. So does
- 2:30:44Speaker 1: everything have to be here in Vegas? No, No, not
- 2:30:47Speaker 1: at all. But he goes on to say the complaint
- 2:30:51Speaker 1: isn't about the time of day, it's about how long
- 2:30:54Speaker 1: it is, you know, seven eight hours something like that.
- 2:30:57Speaker 1: And they said, he said, doesn't baseball games last forever?
- 2:31:03Speaker 1: You know, with relatively not a lot happening, It's not
- 2:31:06Speaker 1: seven hours, dude. You know these events will feature shows
- 2:31:13Speaker 1: in other countries with local fans. Oh, that's what he said.
- 2:31:16Speaker 1: These events will lead to future shows and other countries
- 2:31:20Speaker 1: with local fans trusting and believing in the quality being offered.
- 2:31:26Speaker 1: They're the ones which will have more suitable time spans. Like,
- 2:31:30Speaker 1: so you're gonna grow this market you're talking about to
- 2:31:34Speaker 1: fans that don't go to fights, and now they're gonna
- 2:31:36Speaker 1: go to the fights when you already have the UK, Japan, US,
- 2:31:42Speaker 1: you already have places that people go to, so why
- 2:31:45Speaker 1: wouldn't you want to have the quality fights here as
- 2:31:50Speaker 1: well more of them because you already have butts in
- 2:31:54Speaker 1: the seats. So to say that the local fans what
- 2:32:00Speaker 1: one country now, so now they're gonna go to these like,
- 2:32:06Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I'm not saying I don't
- 2:32:09Speaker 1: none of the fights should be in Saudi. I just
- 2:32:10Speaker 1: said ben Avidas could go to Sadi because of the scenario.
- 2:32:14Speaker 1: I'm not And I understand if the government is gonna
- 2:32:17Speaker 1: give money, obviously they gotta have fights in Saudi too.
- 2:32:21Speaker 1: I've never said no fights in Sadi. But you know,
- 2:32:27Speaker 1: it's not like the crowds are getting bigger and more.
- 2:32:32Speaker 1: You know, like I'm glad that they don't charge that
- 2:32:37Speaker 1: much money, but still, like here in the US, flying
- 2:32:41Speaker 1: to Vegas or any other city for that matter, and
- 2:32:45Speaker 1: flying to Saudi are two different things. And you know,
- 2:32:49Speaker 1: I don't drink a lot anymore, but I know plenty
- 2:32:53Speaker 1: of people that would want to be a fight. So
- 2:32:55Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I'm not saying none of them.
- 2:32:58Speaker 1: But when you say these brand new markets that they're
- 2:33:01Speaker 1: going to expand, and these are the fights that are
- 2:33:03Speaker 1: going to grow the sport in places where it's not popular,
- 2:33:07Speaker 1: and they're going to go to those things. It's like, well,
- 2:33:09Speaker 1: if you have a quality card, why not get it
- 2:33:12Speaker 1: its biggest exposure. That's all I'm saying. Jay Row said,
- 2:33:17Speaker 1: I'm okay with fighters not wanting to fight a racist.
- 2:33:21Speaker 1: Don't give races a payday. Fuck them. What I'll never
- 2:33:24Speaker 1: understand as friends not wanting to fight each other and
- 2:33:27Speaker 1: help each others financially betterment of their family. That is
- 2:33:31Speaker 1: a good point. And he showed you know some old
- 2:33:34Speaker 1: superclipse of of just that where it's like, yeah, sippy boxing,
- 2:33:40Speaker 1: how does Kishan do against the lightweight division? He mentioned
- 2:33:44Speaker 1: Loma Gravante, Anda Cruz, and Martaya, like those are those
- 2:33:49Speaker 1: are all really good fights and I think at least
- 2:33:52Speaker 1: two of them, you know, could could happen. This is
- 2:33:59Speaker 1: more box Twitter Slash News segment for a little bit here.
- 2:34:04Speaker 1: Bredman said, bad decision Rune's legacies. Jack Catterall was robbed
- 2:34:10Speaker 1: versus Taylor in their first fight. He should have been
- 2:34:14Speaker 1: lineal got revenge in the rematch, but Taylor wasn't champion anymore.
- 2:34:20Speaker 1: Now he has to wait on another shot. No such
- 2:34:24Speaker 1: thing as a fair fair in boxing, that is true.
- 2:34:27Speaker 1: No sense fair and boxing. You know, there is no
- 2:34:30Speaker 1: fair and boxing. But I don't think he got robbed
- 2:34:34Speaker 1: against Taylor, And I damn sure don't think he got
- 2:34:37Speaker 1: robbed here. Now, could you give him the fight? I'd
- 2:34:40Speaker 1: be just fine. Like I said, if you gave him
- 2:34:43Speaker 1: seven to five, be fine with me. I wouldn't be
- 2:34:47Speaker 1: complaining whatsoever. But no one got robbed in this fight.
- 2:34:52Speaker 1: Oh a little surprise, you know, but no one really
- 2:34:58Speaker 1: got robbed. There is so shots out to Matt brunch boxing.
- 2:35:06Speaker 1: Right here we go, he says the rumor during the
- 2:35:09Speaker 1: Rumor report, the top rank on ESPN is not quite done.
- 2:35:13Speaker 1: That was a Saturday show, And he went on to
- 2:35:20Speaker 1: say that it looks like ESPN according to his sources,
- 2:35:25Speaker 1: that ESPN's interested in bringing back top rank, but just
- 2:35:29Speaker 1: at a lower price point for the deal per year,
- 2:35:32Speaker 1: which that makes sense because I don't think they've you know,
- 2:35:37Speaker 1: I don't have the numbers in front of it, but
- 2:35:38Speaker 1: I don't think they've made you know, that kind of
- 2:35:41Speaker 1: dent like that, so that that would be good. I
- 2:35:45Speaker 1: want to see. That's the thing. I want to understand
- 2:35:47Speaker 1: ESPN man or even join the Amazon and PBC and
- 2:35:54Speaker 1: Amazon in top rank. That would be great to me. Oh,
- 2:35:59Speaker 1: by the way, Clariss Shields. A lot of people got
- 2:36:02Speaker 1: glazed again. She tested positive for marijuana, which was really like,
- 2:36:09Speaker 1: from my understanding, it could come from you know, saliva.
- 2:36:14Speaker 1: That's how little it was. Well, well, we'll talk a
- 2:36:17Speaker 1: little bit more about that in the future. But yeah,
- 2:36:20Speaker 1: a lot of people were just you know, overjoyed that
- 2:36:25Speaker 1: the rumor was she tested positive for a BB and
- 2:36:29Speaker 1: that was not the case. And this is what Xandersya
- 2:36:33Speaker 1: said after his win. I'm number one in the WBC.
- 2:36:36Speaker 1: I'm number three in the WB. I don't know, I'm sorry,
- 2:36:39Speaker 1: number one in WBO, number one in the WBC. Sebastian
- 2:36:43Speaker 1: Fandora is next, Like is he just saying that or
- 2:36:48Speaker 1: is you know what I mean? Also, Boxer and NBC
- 2:36:53Speaker 1: partnership done didn't last long, unfortunately. Here's Jim Krassi said
- 2:37:00Speaker 1: Martaya or Abdullah would be a perfect dext opponent for Kishan,
- 2:37:05Speaker 1: but they're fighting each other and going the IPF route
- 2:37:08Speaker 1: before unification bolls happen. I think we see Kishan defend
- 2:37:13Speaker 1: his belt a few times, and he actually mentioned noakes
- 2:37:18Speaker 1: or that badly. Both ranked tying the w p O. Yeah,
- 2:37:21Speaker 1: I mean I agree, I kind of agree in general
- 2:37:24Speaker 1: with what he's saying here that that could be the case.
- 2:37:27Speaker 1: But the you know, like Rattayev or Abdulah, but like
- 2:37:32Speaker 1: that or the winner of that, you know that that
- 2:37:36Speaker 1: that would be ideal. That'd be two really good fights
- 2:37:39Speaker 1: or just one whatever. Adrian Delgado Tank Davis Kishan Davis
- 2:37:44Speaker 1: would be an explosive matchup. Both excellent body punchers. Two.
- 2:37:48Speaker 1: I could see where Tank's range of motion and footwork
- 2:37:51Speaker 1: will give him will get get him to the target quicker.
- 2:37:55Speaker 1: But Kishan's physicality would allow him to absorb punches, positioning
- 2:37:59Speaker 1: him to land his own. That is that that is
- 2:38:03Speaker 1: an explosive matchup. Man double a Adam from sm Boxing
- 2:38:10Speaker 1: ESPN announcing Richard Torres will fight Guido Venanelli. Is it
- 2:38:15Speaker 1: VNLLI April fifth, and he said, great fight, man, I'm
- 2:38:21Speaker 1: really I like that fight a lot. That is I
- 2:38:25Speaker 1: can't you know, that's a step up fight. Speaking of
- 2:38:28Speaker 1: Xander's eyes, Charles Comwell said, Cagrats, I would love to
- 2:38:32Speaker 1: fight you this year for the WBO mandatory spot or
- 2:38:36Speaker 1: interim title. You're number one, I'm number two. Let's make
- 2:38:40Speaker 1: it happen. I don't know if that's gonna happen, but
- 2:38:43Speaker 1: that sure would be nice. Fred says it's gonna be
- 2:38:47Speaker 1: wild when Top Right falls under the PBC banner and
- 2:38:50Speaker 1: they can't dug matchups. Yeah. Here here's there was a
- 2:38:57Speaker 1: post here at Floyd Schofield Junior saying Sakor Stevenson called
- 2:39:01Speaker 1: the swat team on them and planted drugs in their car.
- 2:39:06Speaker 1: It's just like, dude, what are we doing? Man? What
- 2:39:10Speaker 1: are we doing here?
- 2:39:13Speaker 3: Uh?
- 2:39:16Speaker 1: Greg, Wait, hold on, that's not let me zoom in
- 2:39:21Speaker 1: on that. That's great Gray, And I heard that he
- 2:39:25Speaker 1: isn't like box trick Gray, So I'm not gonna say anymore.
- 2:39:27Speaker 3: You know, I just did.
- 2:39:28Speaker 1: Sorry, But Gray said, would appreciate he said nasty business
- 2:39:32Speaker 1: on the timeline tonight from the usual boxing riff rap.
- 2:39:35Speaker 1: Would appreciate a reporter getting a statement from the commission
- 2:39:38Speaker 1: instead of replying on words from people who inherently hate
- 2:39:44Speaker 1: or are paid to defend the fighter. Both not one
- 2:39:47Speaker 1: hundred percent reliable facts. Let's get some facts. Yeah, And
- 2:39:51Speaker 1: it turned out as it turned out. You know the
- 2:39:56Speaker 1: folks that went early with that with Clarissa there, you know,
- 2:40:02Speaker 1: it wasn't what they wanted to be, let's put it
- 2:40:04Speaker 1: that way. I also saw that Dalton was confirmed for
- 2:40:09Speaker 1: the WBC Mando and March versus Sandor Martin and Alberta Playo. So, uh,
- 2:40:19Speaker 1: the winner will be allowed. I guess Dalton Smith would
- 2:40:23Speaker 1: be next after the not next, but they do have
- 2:40:27Speaker 1: the winner has a voluntary defense, it's allowed. Then they
- 2:40:30Speaker 1: must fight Smith next. So maybe they'll do one more
- 2:40:35Speaker 1: and then that. I don't know, we'll see, we'll see. Yeah,
- 2:40:43Speaker 1: Glaze now, all of a sudden, Glazier is like f
- 2:40:46Speaker 1: top rank bro the boxing events Top Rank delivered on ESPN.
- 2:40:50Speaker 1: The last five years of the deal was like eating
- 2:40:52Speaker 1: a sandwich for lunch everybody or every day, but deciding
- 2:40:56Speaker 1: between mustard and mayonnaise. And it's just so funny because
- 2:41:00Speaker 1: he wasn't saying that shit when he was, you know,
- 2:41:02Speaker 1: when he was helping him or whatever he's doing. Oh,
- 2:41:07Speaker 1: John Gallagher too or Joe Gallagher. What am I saying?
- 2:41:11Speaker 1: Sounds like he.
- 2:41:13Speaker 2: Stage four cancer. He's just diagnosed, so hopefully he can.
- 2:41:19Speaker 1: You know, get through that.
- 2:41:21Speaker 5: Man.
- 2:41:21Speaker 1: That's tough. This is coming from brunch Boxing as well.
- 2:41:25Speaker 1: Luvin and Holmes Final limited or set for May tenth
- 2:41:29Speaker 1: in Florida, and it sounds like it'll be on pro Box.
- 2:41:33Speaker 1: So I like that fight. That's a good fight, and
- 2:41:35Speaker 1: it kind of sets up what next. Also, brunch Boxing
- 2:41:38Speaker 1: says that Wilder and Harper Bolt was canceled. The proposed
- 2:41:42Speaker 1: bout between them two was canceled after financial dispute with
- 2:41:47Speaker 1: the BLK Prime platform, it says. He says, here, while
- 2:41:52Speaker 1: there's still plans to return in the first half of
- 2:41:55Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, we'll see what happens there. I thought
- 2:42:00Speaker 1: that was a good opponent for him. But here's Davonte
- 2:42:04Speaker 1: in a recent interview, he said they were saying that
- 2:42:08Speaker 1: Loma was scared. I don't think that was the case.
- 2:42:10Speaker 1: He reached the point where whereas though it's hard for
- 2:42:15Speaker 1: him to get up for a fight, and he talked about,
- 2:42:17Speaker 1: you know, spending time with the family, talking about injuries
- 2:42:20Speaker 1: and all that. So yeah, it does see, it does
- 2:42:24Speaker 1: sound like that Martaya Abdullah will be May tenth in
- 2:42:28Speaker 1: San Diego. So that's a good fight. You know, we'll
- 2:42:32Speaker 1: see how that how that goes. And Mungia he got
- 2:42:37Speaker 1: knocked off. Bruno knocked him off May third. On that
- 2:42:40Speaker 1: Canelo card from rehat so he's doing it again. I
- 2:42:46Speaker 1: gotta give him credit. I do have to give him credit.
- 2:42:50Speaker 1: Here's more Floyd, just straight up kid, Austin Floyd. Everyone
- 2:42:54Speaker 1: knows you don't have power. So let's see if the
- 2:42:56Speaker 1: snack helped with Hidden Royd.
- 2:43:00Speaker 2: Now you're at snack athlete for.
- 2:43:04Speaker 1: For little us. Oh, now, now you're a snack athlete
- 2:43:07Speaker 1: for little less. I thought I thought we were baby food.
- 2:43:14Speaker 1: Snack can help your chin. You can cheat all you
- 2:43:17Speaker 1: want without being tracked. That won't help your ribs or job.
- 2:43:23Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:43:24Speaker 2: I just think that camp has been way too high
- 2:43:28Speaker 2: on itself.
- 2:43:29Speaker 1: And I don't know, man, I really I don't know, man,
- 2:43:37Speaker 1: I really don't know. I don't know what to say.
- 2:43:39Speaker 1: I really don't know what to say. I think that
- 2:43:43Speaker 1: about wraps it up. Let's see if there's any other
- 2:43:46Speaker 1: fight news that I forgot to go by. Man, we
- 2:43:50Speaker 1: got a great guard, that's all I'm gonna say. We
- 2:43:53Speaker 1: got a phenomenal card as long as it halfway delivers.
- 2:43:59Speaker 1: I don't know how you beat this card, you know,
- 2:44:02Speaker 1: this year or for the next while. Anyway, I'm gonna
- 2:44:07Speaker 1: get out of here enjoy the fights. We'll be back
- 2:44:09Speaker 1: next Tuesday. Bas
