- 0:07Speaker 1: This is media podcast. Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the
- 0:12Speaker 1: only game show a conservation always wins. I'm your host,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Spencer new Arth and today we're joined by Jannis, Randall, Brody, Tresa,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Christine Corey and Matt. This is a ten round quiz
- 0:23Speaker 1: show with questions from Meat Eater's four verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and cooking, and there is a prize. Meat Eater will
- 0:30Speaker 1: donate five hundred dollars to the Conservation organization of the
- 0:33Speaker 1: winners choosing for the stat of the week. This week
- 0:36Speaker 1: we're looking at Yannie's best and worst categories. Yanni, what
- 0:40Speaker 1: do you think your strength is in Meat Eater Trivia? Hunting, fishing, conservation, cooking?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Oh man, I bet it's a close tie between hunting
- 0:48Speaker 2: and cooking.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Your best category is cooking. You get seventy three percent
- 0:55Speaker 1: of questions correct. That is the highest mark among all
- 1:00Speaker 1: crew members.
- 1:00Speaker 3: That's impressed.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Seventy three highest mark in cooking or highest marking any
- 1:04Speaker 2: particular in.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Cook cooking, you're the best at answering cooking questions. Now,
- 1:09Speaker 1: what do you think your weakest.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Category is conservation?
- 1:13Speaker 1: Your worst category is conservation, where you get fifty eight
- 1:17Speaker 1: percent of questions correct. That is fifteen percent worse than
- 1:21Speaker 1: Randall and nine percent worse than Brody.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Know thyself, man, good job.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah, what's with the gap of knowledge there? You think
- 1:30Speaker 1: between the cooking and conservation?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Uh? Well, I don't know if I'm one hundred percent
- 1:37Speaker 2: for sure correct on this, but I might be the
- 1:39Speaker 2: only one that actually worked in the kitchen professionally for
- 1:43Speaker 2: more than six months, so that would give me the
- 1:46Speaker 2: you know, the bump. And then I, you know, like
- 1:51Speaker 2: I always say, I didn't get a PhD in hunting
- 1:53Speaker 2: history like that guy did, and I probably just read
- 1:57Speaker 2: a lot less than this guy does. Think that that,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you know, that's where that conservation gap comes from.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Yanni is such a pro in the kitchen that he
- 2:05Speaker 1: even does the thing you're supposed to do in a
- 2:07Speaker 1: kitchen where you say behind you if you're like walking
- 2:09Speaker 1: behind someone. So you still do that all these years?
- 2:13Speaker 2: Still corner corner corner? I don't know, I've never heard corner.
- 2:19Speaker 2: What's that corner? Going through it? Oh?
- 2:21Speaker 4: Yeah, with a big tray hot now you know, Yanni,
- 2:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Cory says something really funny too when it comes.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Is it naughty?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Very we're not gonna, We're not gonna do leave the room,
- 2:39Speaker 2: and then he'll say it for sure.
- 2:40Speaker 5: I mean, I worked in restaurants for six years, so
- 2:42Speaker 5: we had to get pretty clever.
- 2:43Speaker 1: M Yeah, let's find out after the mics are off,
- 2:47Speaker 1: and on average, Yannie gets sixty three percent of questions correct.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Now here's our Infrequently Asked Questions segment. If you have
- 2:55Speaker 1: a Trivia related question for our crew, send it to
- 2:58Speaker 1: Trivia at the Media do with the subject line I
- 3:01Speaker 1: f a Q. Ben Stewart says, on one episode of Trivia,
- 3:05Speaker 1: it was casually mentioned that Steve and Chester once wrestled
- 3:09Speaker 1: and Chester pinned him. What's the story behind that? I
- 3:12Speaker 1: don't know the answer, Ben. Does anyone in here know
- 3:14Speaker 1: the Chester and Steve wrestling story? I assume someone was there.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You might want to have saved that one for when
- 3:20Speaker 1: Steve around well, Steve is rarely around him.
- 3:23Speaker 2: If I had a bet on that one, I would
- 3:25Speaker 2: have bet on Chess.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Chester looks like a high.
- 3:28Speaker 6: School and I would bet that Steve was like, I
- 3:31Speaker 6: can beat you in wrestling, and then Chester Chester whipped you.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Guys think it was ernest wrestling that happened, Like they
- 3:37Speaker 1: were that happens on the shoots. Uh huh, Okay, well,
- 3:40Speaker 1: we're gonna get someone in the room to canter like
- 3:43Speaker 1: I've been on enough.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Shoots to see if it's one of the first things
- 3:46Speaker 4: that we do on shoots. Everybody knows that.
- 3:49Speaker 2: We used to just throw rocks at like cans or
- 3:52Speaker 2: bottles at you know, far distances and have bets on them.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Some people used to get into some debt. Man, big
- 3:58Speaker 2: time of dollars. You can do the Uh, no, you
- 4:02Speaker 2: because I can hit shit with a rock.
- 4:04Speaker 7: Huh.
- 4:04Speaker 1: What's that thing where you like prop yourself up vertically?
- 4:07Speaker 3: You guys used to do two headstands?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but it was like a certain kind like
- 4:13Speaker 1: you had to do it a certain way against the wall,
- 4:16Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 4:17Speaker 2: I can't. I don't know, but yeah, plankoffs competitions for
- 4:22Speaker 2: doing who can do the most pull ups on a branch?
- 4:25Speaker 1: All right, Ben, We'll get somebody here who can tell
- 4:27Speaker 1: you about the time Steven Chester wrestled on a future episode.
- 4:32Speaker 1: We have some housekeeping to get to. On a recent
- 4:34Speaker 1: episode of Trivia, we talked about Randy Neuberg and how
- 4:37Speaker 1: he said he read the six thousand page Elk of
- 4:40Speaker 1: North America book we debunked during that episode that it
- 4:43Speaker 1: was not six thousand pages. Listener Caleb Pinner wrote in
- 4:47Speaker 1: confirming that his copy is six hundred and twenty five pages.
- 4:51Speaker 1: But he also shared something more interesting than that. His
- 4:53Speaker 1: addition from nineteen eighty two has the price of thirty
- 4:57Speaker 1: nine to ninety five printed on the cover. That is
- 5:00Speaker 1: an expensive book in twenty twenty four, let alone in
- 5:03Speaker 1: nineteen eighty two. Using an inflation calculator, that forty dollars
- 5:07Speaker 1: book would cost one hundred and thirty four dollars today.
- 5:10Speaker 1: But here's another plot twist. That book currently has far
- 5:13Speaker 1: more demand than supply. The cheapest copy I could find
- 5:18Speaker 1: is listed for two hundred and twenty dollars on Amazon.
- 5:21Speaker 1: That's like if the book was new for sale in
- 5:23Speaker 1: nineteen eighty two for sixty six dollars instead of forty dollars.
- 5:28Speaker 1: So if anyone take care of my copy I got
- 5:30Speaker 1: at home, you genuinely have one at home.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, I've never read it fully, I've flipped through
- 5:37Speaker 2: it quite often, but I've never sat. I mean, it's
- 5:39Speaker 2: a big, old textbook.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Basically two hundred and twenty dollars textbook that you got there.
- 5:43Speaker 1: You could flip that for a nice little profit. Now, Yannie, Now.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I'm an ang on toop. My mother in law gave
- 5:49Speaker 2: me that for Christmas one year.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Oh oh, was that kind of an insult, like he
- 5:54Speaker 1: needs help? Or what was the deal?
- 5:56Speaker 2: I know it was on my list of things that
- 5:58Speaker 2: I would like to receive.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Uh huh, it's a good present. You look at it
- 6:02Speaker 1: and see what year it is and what the price
- 6:04Speaker 1: tag for that year. Now, the Shelby INDEXP for today
- 6:07Speaker 1: is a four, so our winner should get eight correct answers.
- 6:11Speaker 1: And with that we're onto the game of trivia the drought.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Real quick question. Do you ever get anybody that writes
- 6:18Speaker 2: in and it's like, guy, you guys, bullshit, wait too much.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'd like you guys just to hurry up and get
- 6:23Speaker 2: to the game.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I try to keep it under ten minutes so that
- 6:25Speaker 1: does not happen. But I think if we if we
- 6:28Speaker 1: went longer, if this was like a fifteen minute banter
- 6:31Speaker 1: up top, I imagine folks would complain.
- 6:33Speaker 2: And that's understandable, all right, So I didn't let us
- 6:36Speaker 2: know what you think? All right? Play the drought?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Now, look, I need to know what I stand to
- 6:46Speaker 1: win everything. I'm saying, just tend to win everything. Game
- 6:58Speaker 1: On Suckers Question one, the topic is conservation. This first
- 7:02Speaker 1: great question is via Bob Nielsen, and as always it
- 7:06Speaker 1: will be multiple choice.
- 7:07Speaker 4: This is your worst category.
- 7:10Speaker 1: In what tragic way did all Though Leopold die? Is
- 7:15Speaker 1: it had a heart attack while fighting a grass fire,
- 7:19Speaker 1: kicked in the stomach by a neighbor's loose horse, flipped
- 7:23Speaker 1: a canoe on the Mississippi on Christmas Eve, were crushed
- 7:27Speaker 1: by an invasive white poplar tree he was riding about?
- 7:33Speaker 1: In what tragic way did all though Leopold die? Here
- 7:38Speaker 1: are the four choices. Had a heart attack while fighting
- 7:41Speaker 1: a grass fire, kicked in the stomach by a neighbor's
- 7:44Speaker 1: loose horse, flipped a canoe on the Mississippi on Christmas Eve?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Or crushed by an invasive white poplar tree he was
- 7:53Speaker 1: riding about.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Randal, You know this one, I do.
- 7:56Speaker 4: This is one of those fun questions to write, though
- 8:00Speaker 4: as you start, you know, and then you come up
- 8:02Speaker 4: with three equally dramatically tragic demises.
- 8:07Speaker 1: My favorite board game of all time is balder Dash,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and you basically do that in the game. The game
- 8:12Speaker 1: would be like, uh, you know what tragic way did
- 8:15Speaker 1: all the Leopold die? And then you would have all
- 8:18Speaker 1: the players create a fake answer and there would be
- 8:21Speaker 1: a real answer in there as well, And you're trying
- 8:23Speaker 1: to bluff everyone.
- 8:25Speaker 6: Your a game, guy, Have you played that? Escalated quickly. No,
- 8:29Speaker 6: it's a game my kids want. Seems kind of cool.
- 8:33Speaker 1: My wife usually gets me a board game or two
- 8:35Speaker 1: for Christmas, so maybe it's under the tree this year. Again,
- 8:38Speaker 1: your four choices for how all the Leopold die? Grass fire,
- 8:42Speaker 1: heart attack, kicked by a horse, flipped a canoe, crushed
- 8:46Speaker 1: by invasive tree. Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal
- 8:52Speaker 1: your answers. We have Christine saying canoe, Tresa says kicked
- 8:57Speaker 1: by a horse, Matt kicked by a horse, Randall grass fire,
- 9:02Speaker 1: heart attack, Corey flipped a canoe, Yanni says grass fire
- 9:09Speaker 1: heart attack, and Brody says flipped the canoe on Christmas Eve.
- 9:14Speaker 1: The correct answer is he had a heart attack while
- 9:18Speaker 1: fighting a grass.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I got a question, What do you got? I got
- 9:21Speaker 3: a question? Did the fire kill him or was he
- 9:26Speaker 3: killed by a heart attack?
- 9:28Speaker 1: He was killed by the heart attack. He had the
- 9:30Speaker 1: heart attack while he was fighting the grass fire.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Wow, okay, Like would you have had that heart attack anyway?
- 9:37Speaker 2: I bet not.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I imagine it was a cause and effect, like if
- 9:40Speaker 1: someone had a heart attack while they were dragging a
- 9:42Speaker 1: deer out of the woods near Yeah, heart attack? On
- 9:47Speaker 1: did he get burned up in the fire. I don't
- 9:49Speaker 1: have all those details.
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'll tell you what I do know. Rand died.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Leopold died on.
- 9:54Speaker 1: April twenty first, nineteen forty eight, at sixty one years old.
- 9:59Speaker 1: This was just one week after his manuscript for a
- 10:02Speaker 1: Sand County Almanac was accepted by Oxford University. Leopold had
- 10:07Speaker 1: the heart attack while helping a neighbor fight a grass fire,
- 10:10Speaker 1: collapsing less than one hundred yards from where the Aldo
- 10:13Speaker 1: Leopold Legacy Center stands today. So if you go to
- 10:16Speaker 1: that Legacy center, you're right near where he had that
- 10:19Speaker 1: heart attack. Question two. The topic is woodsmanship. This is
- 10:23Speaker 1: our listener question of the Week, which was won by
- 10:26Speaker 1: Carson Spa. For sending this great question. Carson is going
- 10:29Speaker 1: to get a board game signed by the crew. If
- 10:31Speaker 1: you want a chance to win our listener Question of
- 10:33Speaker 1: the Week, then send your question to Trivia at the
- 10:35Speaker 1: Medeater dot com This beer is named after the tallest
- 10:40Speaker 1: mountain in Washington.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Some good stuff too.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Now you're speaking my language, okay, Corey Randall. Everyone's quick
- 10:48Speaker 1: to answer. This may be a one hundred big big
- 10:54Speaker 1: beer drinkers in this room.
- 10:55Speaker 4: Whenever I'm around Cow, these things are always in close proximity.
- 10:59Speaker 1: This beer is named after the tallest mountain in Washington.
- 11:03Speaker 1: There have been some hints dropped.
- 11:05Speaker 3: If you know, I'm in the cairn at the Bank
- 11:07Speaker 3: bar and Clyde Park.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Oh Yanni is revisiting his answer. This beer is named
- 11:15Speaker 1: after the tallest mountain in Washington.
- 11:19Speaker 5: I'm thinking, okay, a couple of big mountains in Washington.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Or how well do you know what Calm Brody liked
- 11:33Speaker 1: to drink? Oh?
- 11:37Speaker 4: I forget how tall mount Becks?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Is Mount bud Light?
- 11:44Speaker 2: Well, that's Sierra Nevada is a tall mountain.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Range Brody has done some riding. Is everybody riding ready?
- 11:58Speaker 2: Everybody loves Becks.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Christine and
- 12:05Speaker 1: Tresa saying Rainier. Tresa crossed out Olympus. Matt says Rainier.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Randall Rainier, Corey and Jannis and Brody say Rainier they
- 12:17Speaker 1: got it. The correct answer is Rainier. That was a
- 12:21Speaker 1: one hundred percenter.
- 12:22Speaker 3: You had me worry. It was only there for a second.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Did callous?
- 12:25Speaker 4: Did cal give that answer away?
- 12:27Speaker 1: No?
- 12:27Speaker 2: I just kept thinking and yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Rainier beer was first brewed in Seattle in eighteen seventy eight,
- 12:35Speaker 1: which is eleven years before Washington even became a state.
- 12:39Speaker 1: During Prohibition, the beer had to move to California and
- 12:42Speaker 1: then to Canada before returning to Washington. Mount Rainier is
- 12:46Speaker 1: fourteen thousand, four hundred and seventeen feet tall, making it
- 12:50Speaker 1: the fifth tallest mountain in the Lower forty eight. Question
- 12:54Speaker 1: three the topicus cooking R spidermin R. I like that one, Alry,
- 13:00Speaker 1: I plan on using that maybe this weekend.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Even Yeah, A lot of bartenders don't know that one.
- 13:04Speaker 1: It's pretty sad, do you know? Do you know? Uh?
- 13:07Speaker 8: I know about vitamin R because of Twilight. That was
- 13:10Speaker 8: Bella's dad's favor beer. Oh I'm sorry for.
- 13:15Speaker 3: The next episode.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I have been to for.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Yeah, my wife was a big Twilight fan. She was
- 13:23Speaker 1: the right age for that series. So we had to
- 13:24Speaker 1: stop and she took a picture in front of the
- 13:26Speaker 1: welcome to Forks sign.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I went steel heading out there with a buddy,
- 13:29Speaker 4: and then it was just kind of had forgotten about twilight,
- 13:32Speaker 4: but then you get there.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't forget.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Don't forget about question three. The topic is cooking. Zesty, sharp,
- 13:40Speaker 1: and tart are synonyms for this five letter word that's
- 13:44Speaker 1: defined as quote having a powerfully stimulating odor or flavor.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We had a one hundred percenter on question two. We
- 13:56Speaker 1: may have a zero percenter on question three. Zesty, sharp,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and tart are synonyms for this five letter word that's
- 14:06Speaker 1: defined as having a powerfully stimulating odor or flavor. Randall
- 14:12Speaker 1: the first player to come up with an answer. Do
- 14:15Speaker 1: you have this one right? Randall?
- 14:17Speaker 3: It's a possibility.
- 14:18Speaker 1: He's grinning.
- 14:19Speaker 4: He really likes No, No, no, it's that was a grimace.
- 14:24Speaker 4: I kind of had to think at the end. Yeah,
- 14:27Speaker 4: that's a grimace.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Zesty, sharp, and tart are synonyms for this five letter word,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and it's defined as having a powerfully stimulating odor or flavor.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Use your word of powers, you're honest.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah, that's a five letter game, isn't it. I
- 14:45Speaker 1: feel like they're reaching the end of the dictionary, so
- 14:47Speaker 1: they've probably used this word at some point. Zesty tart
- 14:55Speaker 1: are synonyms for this five letter word. It's defined as
- 14:59Speaker 1: having a powerfully stimulating odor or flavor.
- 15:02Speaker 3: What if the word I came up with is also
- 15:05Speaker 3: a cineme doesn't have this.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It needs to have this exact definition, which I pulled
- 15:11Speaker 1: from Merriam Webster's thesaurus, having a powerfully stimulating odor or flavor.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Boy, I'm just trying to think of the my answers
- 15:25Speaker 4: to see mine is more odor specific?
- 15:28Speaker 1: I do our other players? Give up? Hold on Brody
- 15:36Speaker 1: revisiting his whiteboard?
- 15:38Speaker 4: Maybe I need to stop talking.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Should keep the perfect game going for Randal if he's right, zesty,
- 15:47Speaker 1: sharp and tart, Phil, would you get this one right? Yeah?
- 15:51Speaker 2: I think so?
- 15:51Speaker 1: Okay, Wow, A little hint and an insult, Phil.
- 15:57Speaker 8: It's hard Sometimes it's hard to me to gauge once
- 15:59Speaker 8: I've seen the answer, because I like, did it? Would
- 16:01Speaker 8: I have thought of that without having seen it before?
- 16:04Speaker 2: I'd like, yes, Brody, is it mean?
- 16:09Speaker 5: You know?
- 16:10Speaker 1: I mean there's I think there's a lot of blank whiteboards,
- 16:12Speaker 1: but you're probably the only one left.
- 16:15Speaker 3: And they wanted more chit chat, so let's just chick.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Chat, Yanni.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I just came up with a six letter one.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Okay, maybe spell it.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Wrong, Brodie, how many vowels does your answer have depends
- 16:26Speaker 4: which word?
- 16:27Speaker 3: I circle one has one, vowel one has to Okay.
- 16:33Speaker 1: How many vowels does he one has?
- 16:35Speaker 6: That would letter that's sometimes a vowel and sometimes not
- 16:39Speaker 6: a vowel.
- 16:41Speaker 3: I think that's how it's.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't want to tell how many vowels my
- 16:47Speaker 4: answer has five.
- 16:50Speaker 3: It's all vweves.
- 16:51Speaker 1: It's Italian or it's from Yeah, it doesn't have any vowls.
- 16:55Speaker 1: O God, sharp and tart are synonyms for this five
- 17:04Speaker 1: letter word that's defined as having a powerfully stimulating odor
- 17:09Speaker 1: or flavor. Sticking with my first answer, it's a shockingly
- 17:12Speaker 1: difficult question. Brody's not going to change his answer. But
- 17:16Speaker 1: he showed me his whiteboard, and I'll say that one
- 17:19Speaker 1: of his answers was correct.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Oh boy, so I hope it was the right one.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yanni, we're waiting on you.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, go ahead, Cory, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 17:32Speaker 1: We have Christine saying tangy, Tresa says spicy, Matt says sweet,
- 17:40Speaker 1: Randall says acid acrid, Cordy says zippy, Giannis says mommy,
- 17:50Speaker 1: Brody crossed out umami and went with tangy. The correct answer.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It's tangy, bro and Christine got well that one.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Right, Christine.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Tangy flavors are often described as having a slight sourness
- 18:07Speaker 1: with acidic notes. Cuisines that use a lot of tangy
- 18:10Speaker 1: flavors include Thai, Vietnamese, Indian, Mediterranean, and Caribbean. Some foods
- 18:16Speaker 1: that are considered tangy include vinegar, sauer kraut, kimchi, pickles, yogurt, berries,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and citrus fruit.
- 18:23Speaker 2: God, I was even thinking about sauer kraut kimchi, and
- 18:27Speaker 2: like what you call that? Tangy? Did not come to mind?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Was your sixth letter word?
- 18:32Speaker 2: Did I?
- 18:32Speaker 3: Did I happen to see that you wrote down?
- 18:34Speaker 1: Skanky?
- 18:36Speaker 2: Stinky?
- 18:39Speaker 1: Question for the topic is natural history? In what city
- 18:45Speaker 1: is the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History located?
- 18:49Speaker 7: Oh?
- 18:50Speaker 1: Yeah, in what city is the Smithsonian National Museum of
- 18:57Speaker 1: Natural History located? Randall, you have this one right?
- 19:02Speaker 8: I do?
- 19:02Speaker 1: Have you been here before many times? Oh? Wow, Yanni,
- 19:06Speaker 1: do you have this one right?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Good guess?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Okay, Brody, I just.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Get it mixed up with another thing.
- 19:16Speaker 4: I'd just like to point out that on the previous question.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Had I not known that one of Brody's two answers
- 19:21Speaker 4: was correct? I've known mine was wrong when you didn't
- 19:24Speaker 4: pronounce it.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Whatever, Spencer looks the whiteboard and it's like he's never
- 19:29Speaker 4: seen that before.
- 19:31Speaker 3: It really takes the wind out of yourself.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yes again. Question four, natural history? In what city is
- 19:41Speaker 1: the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History located?
- 19:45Speaker 3: Well, you really hit the topic right that you hit
- 19:47Speaker 3: the nail on the head.
- 19:48Speaker 2: But this one.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Have you been to this place?
- 19:50Speaker 2: Brody?
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 19:51Speaker 3: Long time ago?
- 19:52Speaker 1: Okay, Gianness is now squinting trying to think of where
- 19:58Speaker 1: Brody may have been a long time ago. Anyone else
- 20:03Speaker 1: to this place?
- 20:03Speaker 4: We know he was in Pennsylvania?
- 20:05Speaker 1: Have been there? Matt? What do you remember looking at
- 20:08Speaker 1: at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History?
- 20:12Speaker 4: Without providing anything?
- 20:13Speaker 2: That's too They had a really really.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Cool Egyptian exhibit was really interesting.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I was looking at their website last night.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Any was there a NonStop flight from Bozeman to get.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Oh Man? I think it might be the other one I'm.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Thinking of, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. Is everybody ready?
- 20:35Speaker 2: Yeah? No, I'm gonna switch. I'm gonnawitch. Let me write
- 20:37Speaker 2: down without that one.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I think the Egyptian thing is permanent there at the museum.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I was looking at their website last night. They currently
- 20:47Speaker 1: have a new exhibit about the mega toothed shark that
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'd like to see, Megalodon mega toothed, which I don't
- 20:56Speaker 1: think is the megal I thought that was just a pseudonym.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Go ahead, head and reveal your answers. We have saying
- 21:03Speaker 1: Chicago treesa without an answer. Matt says Washington d C.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Randall Washington d C. Cory says Chicago. Jannis crossed out
- 21:14Speaker 1: Washington d C and put Chicago. Brody says Washington d C.
- 21:19Speaker 2: He got it.
- 21:19Speaker 1: The correct answer is Washington d C. The Smithsonian is
- 21:24Speaker 1: the world's largest museum, education, and research complex. It was
- 21:29Speaker 1: created in eighteen forty six by the federal government quote
- 21:32Speaker 1: for the increase and diffusion of knowledge. The institute is
- 21:36Speaker 1: famous for their seventeen museums, the most visited of which
- 21:39Speaker 1: is the National Museum of Natural History. How to get
- 21:42Speaker 1: its name the Smithsonian. I think it's named after a
- 21:46Speaker 1: British person, John Smith. No, I think his name was Smithsonian.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I mean Smith doesn't Chicago also have a really good
- 21:55Speaker 2: New York.
- 21:56Speaker 1: City the Field Museum in Chicago, and New York City
- 22:01Speaker 1: has the American Museum of Question five, the topic is hunting.
- 22:07Speaker 1: This next great question is via Nathan Noble. What does
- 22:11Speaker 1: b C stand for as in a bullets BC? What
- 22:19Speaker 1: does b C stand for as in a bullets BC?
- 22:24Speaker 1: This is question five. Will be a scoreboard update from
- 22:26Speaker 1: Phill the engineer after this.
- 22:31Speaker 4: There's a family of elephants in the Smithsonian Museum of
- 22:35Speaker 4: Natural History that I believe we're all killed.
- 22:37Speaker 3: By t R oh interesting whole family.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Yeah, I could be wrong on that.
- 22:45Speaker 1: That's the perfect thing to put in a museum.
- 22:47Speaker 2: I wonder what BC his bullet had great?
- 22:52Speaker 3: I bet it was probably.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Phil.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Are you going to be doing the scoreboard updates next
- 22:58Speaker 1: week as well?
- 22:59Speaker 7: You?
- 22:59Speaker 3: Look?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Is this a one man show? Negative? Oh, it's going
- 23:02Speaker 2: to be a one man show. I don't know how
- 23:03Speaker 2: it's going to go.
- 23:04Speaker 8: It's mostly an exercise in masochism. I'm kind of I'm
- 23:07Speaker 8: willing to give it a shot.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Phil.
- 23:09Speaker 4: I added that factoid, and now I'm second guessing myself.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Would you please look up whether there's a family of
- 23:14Speaker 4: elephants killed by Theodore Roosevelt at the Smithsonian Museum of
- 23:18Speaker 4: Natural History.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Sure, thank you, good enough for me again.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Question five, what does BC stand for? Is in a
- 23:26Speaker 1: bullet BC.
- 23:28Speaker 2: It takes longer to write the answer then for you
- 23:30Speaker 2: to ask the question. Here's a hint. That's a hint.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Five of our players are very confident. Two or not?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Are you too ready scene doing some scribbling, Go ahead
- 23:43Speaker 1: and reveal your answers. Christine says big caliber. Tresa says
- 23:47Speaker 1: bullet cartridge. Matt and Randall, and Corey and Giannis and
- 23:55Speaker 1: Brody say ballistic coefficient. They got it. The correct answer
- 23:59Speaker 1: is Bliss coefficient. Ballistic coefficient is how you track a
- 24:04Speaker 1: projectile's ability to resist air drag. Simply put, the higher
- 24:08Speaker 1: the number, the faster it flies down range, and the
- 24:11Speaker 1: less and the less it drops. BC takes into account
- 24:14Speaker 1: a bullet's weight, diameter, and shape. Phil we're halfway through
- 24:18Speaker 1: the game of trivia. Give us a leaderboard update.
- 24:23Speaker 8: Tress us in last place with one point. Coming up
- 24:26Speaker 8: next our Corey and Christine two points apiece, Jiannis Putellus.
- 24:30Speaker 8: Matt Miller have three points and tied up in first
- 24:32Speaker 8: place are Brody and Randall with.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Four points, tracking perfectly. Anybody's a Shelby Index. Question six,
- 24:42Speaker 1: the topic is conservation in this next great question is
- 24:45Speaker 1: via Luke Pern. This fish, which was considered the same
- 24:50Speaker 1: species as Dolly Varden until nineteen seventy eight, is federally
- 24:55Speaker 1: listed as threatened. Question six, the topic is conservation. This fish,
- 25:03Speaker 1: which was considered the same species as Dolly Varden until
- 25:07Speaker 1: nineteen seventy eight, is federally listed as threatened. You have
- 25:14Speaker 1: this one right, Randall? I hope so? Okay? How about you?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Corey got it?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Matt?
- 25:19Speaker 1: Do you have a chance getting this one right?
- 25:21Speaker 5: Not?
- 25:22Speaker 1: Any chance, okay at all? Has anybody caught one of
- 25:25Speaker 1: these fish? I have brod.
- 25:29Speaker 6: Where an unnamed stream and after Spencer.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Do you have this one right, Yanni?
- 25:39Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure I do, okay.
- 25:41Speaker 8: Although Roosevelt's name does not appear on the display, one
- 25:45Speaker 8: of the museum's most spectacular exhibits the group of eight
- 25:47Speaker 8: elephants in the center of the acle. Eight Lee Hall
- 25:50Speaker 8: of African Mammals includes an elephant shot by Roosevelt in
- 25:53Speaker 8: nineteen oh nine during his African expedition, so it seems
- 25:55Speaker 8: like only one of those elephants.
- 25:58Speaker 1: The details but that's fun.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Might have to take the kids there just to see that.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I used to guide strictly for these fish
- 26:06Speaker 5: eight years.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I knew that. I didn't want to put that out there.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Wait a minute, health some players.
- 26:12Speaker 5: We don't talk about it other than that, though.
- 26:14Speaker 1: This fish, which was considered the same species as Donny
- 26:18Speaker 1: Varden until nineteen seventy eight. He's federally listed as threatened.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yanni is revisiting his answer now based.
- 26:25Speaker 2: On No, he wasn't guiding for my answer.
- 26:29Speaker 1: That's what I was worried about. Oh, Cory, you're a
- 26:32Speaker 1: point behind Yanni. You uh, you don't need to give
- 26:36Speaker 1: him too many ends.
- 26:38Speaker 2: But now if it's wrong, my original one was right.
- 26:41Speaker 3: And he knows you're good.
- 26:45Speaker 8: Now.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Randall is doing some racing. I just yeah, just some cleaning, Yeah,
- 26:50Speaker 1: cleaning up a little bit. Is everybody ready? Go ahead
- 26:55Speaker 1: and reveal your answers. We had Christine saying grayling, Tressa
- 27:00Speaker 1: says permit, Matt says cutthroat, Randall says char Corey says
- 27:06Speaker 1: bol trout. Giannis crossed out char and wrote down bowl trout.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Brody says bull trout. The correct answer is bull trout.
- 27:16Speaker 1: This side of the table. Got that one right.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Now, Corey.
- 27:21Speaker 6: How are you able to guide for these things when
- 27:24Speaker 6: it's illegal to target them.
- 27:26Speaker 5: There's one river in Lower forty eight where you can target.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Oh, I know what we're talking about. I won't mention
- 27:32Speaker 3: it now.
- 27:32Speaker 2: You know we got that out right.
- 27:35Speaker 3: When I was fishing for.
- 27:36Speaker 6: These things, I wasn't accidentally definitely wasn't targeting them.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Oh, it's too funny in and around the rivers that
- 27:44Speaker 2: they occupy. You go to the fly shop and they're like, now, remember,
- 27:48Speaker 2: don't target them. And then you look at the brag board.
- 27:51Speaker 2: It's nothing but people holding up giant bull trout.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Well, on the stream I was fishing, it was like
- 27:59Speaker 1: spawning season in Montana. Okay, he's not going to give
- 28:03Speaker 1: it away.
- 28:03Speaker 2: You didn't have to.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it was we there in Idaho too, aren't they?
- 28:08Speaker 2: West Virginia's got to copoys?
- 28:10Speaker 3: Anyway?
- 28:11Speaker 6: There were two bull trout researchers on the stream I
- 28:15Speaker 6: was on, counting reds like spawning beds. They were not
- 28:19Speaker 6: pleased with us, and then they're like, you know, there's
- 28:23Speaker 6: a lot of grizzly bears in here.
- 28:26Speaker 5: They do go hand in hand.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Bull trout were confused by anglers and biologists until nineteen
- 28:33Speaker 1: seventy eight, when the Ohio State University demonstrated that they
- 28:37Speaker 1: are distinct species from Dolly Varden. They did so through
- 28:40Speaker 1: genetic testing, which showed that populations in the Lower forty
- 28:43Speaker 1: eight are different from those in Alaska. The bull trout
- 28:47Speaker 1: has been listed as threatened as a threatened species since
- 28:50Speaker 1: nineteen ninety nine, with their greatest threats being habitat loss,
- 28:54Speaker 1: climate change, non native fish, and Brody Henderson.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Of course I've caught like two because the.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Stream though question seven, it wasn't.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I wasn't like there illegally.
- 29:08Speaker 2: We get you question what the first time I saw
- 29:10Speaker 2: one come out of the depths as as we were
- 29:14Speaker 2: like skipping like a ten inch rainbow across the surface
- 29:18Speaker 2: to the net, and all of a sudden, this leviathan
- 29:20Speaker 2: comes out of the depths and takes a swipe at it.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Pretty special, it's cool. And then we try to find
- 29:25Speaker 2: the largest streamers we had.
- 29:26Speaker 1: In the boat, Brody. They are and found in Montana, Idaho, Washington,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and Oregon and historically in a few other states. Question
- 29:37Speaker 1: seven the topic is cooking. Ironically, this French food that
- 29:41Speaker 1: translates to fresh cream is often compared to sour cream.
- 29:49Speaker 1: This is question seven. Ironically, this French food that translates
- 29:54Speaker 1: to quote fresh cream is often compared to sour cream.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Randal and Brody quick to answer, you boys have this
- 30:04Speaker 1: one right.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I believe so, but I've lost all confidence now that
- 30:08Speaker 4: last question.
- 30:09Speaker 5: I feel like I learned this in the south Park episode.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about it.
- 30:16Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, spelling counts to it.
- 30:20Speaker 1: There's a few hints regarding spelling and Randy Marsh Ironically,
- 30:29Speaker 1: this French food that translates to fresh cream is often
- 30:32Speaker 1: compared to sour cream.
- 30:34Speaker 6: I think there's scale at which, like spelling does count,
- 30:38Speaker 6: because I just saw how Yanni wrote, Oh, everybody's.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Doing it that way so that Spencer can easily read
- 30:49Speaker 2: it and pronounce it.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Is everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 30:56Speaker 1: have Christine and Tresa and Matt and randall the entire
- 31:02Speaker 1: room says cremfresh.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Everybody correct.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Cramfresh. Food Network describes Cremfresh as tasting rich and look
- 31:18Speaker 1: at this callback tangy. It can be served in a
- 31:22Speaker 1: variety of ways, like as a topping on veggies or meat,
- 31:26Speaker 1: or in soups. Or mashed potatoes. Danielle Pruitt uses it
- 31:29Speaker 1: as a spread on her venison steak sandwiches, a recipe
- 31:33Speaker 1: you can get on the meat eater dot Com.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Question eight.
- 31:36Speaker 1: The topic is wildlife and this next great question is
- 31:38Speaker 1: via Jaden Paxton. According to Audubon, juvenile bald eagles are
- 31:44Speaker 1: quote the source of many misidentifications of this other bird.
- 31:51Speaker 1: According to Audubon, juvenile bald eagles are the source of
- 31:56Speaker 1: many misidentifications of this other bird. Brody Randall, Cory Yanni,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and Matt All quick to answer this.
- 32:07Speaker 3: We sell of these.
- 32:09Speaker 1: This weekend. Take off the juvenile, the legit.
- 32:14Speaker 4: The big boy.
- 32:18Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no no, he's just gonna quit now.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Christine is revisiting her answer. Christine one, right, Well, I
- 32:33Speaker 1: really thought Randall was worried he was giving too much
- 32:37Speaker 1: of a hint.
- 32:38Speaker 3: And now we're getting.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Thrown off one of the players. According to Audubon, juvenile
- 32:46Speaker 1: bald eagles are the source of many misidentifications of this
- 32:50Speaker 1: other bird. I think I have had this misidentification multiple times.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever seen the other bird. But
- 32:59Speaker 1: the question is asking for is everybody ready?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Go ahead, and your answers.
- 33:07Speaker 1: We have Christine saying golden eagle, Tresis says Vulture, Matt
- 33:12Speaker 1: and Randall and Corey, and the Honest saying golden eagle.
- 33:17Speaker 1: The correct answer is golden eagle.
- 33:20Speaker 3: You've definitely seen.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Let me tell you about their populations here at the
- 33:24Speaker 1: end of the factoid, which is why I'm skeptical that
- 33:26Speaker 1: I've ever seen the real thing. Golden eagles and juvenile
- 33:29Speaker 1: bald eagles are about the same size and color. Audubon
- 33:33Speaker 1: says the birds brown heads, and Birder's wishful thinking cost
- 33:37Speaker 1: so many misidentifications. In America. There are only thirty thousand
- 33:41Speaker 1: golden eagles compared to three hundred and twenty thousand bald eagles,
- 33:45Speaker 1: So only thirty thousand of those things gold I think,
- 33:52Speaker 1: but I'm skeptical. I'm not as willing to be like, oh, yeah.
- 33:55Speaker 4: We saw scene ten for takeoff of a fence post
- 33:58Speaker 4: from like thirty yards away as we're driving.
- 34:00Speaker 6: If you drove around, if you drove around in eastern
- 34:04Speaker 6: Montana right now, just driving down roads looking for road
- 34:09Speaker 6: killed deer or elk, you see a golden egle.
- 34:11Speaker 1: I just assume when I'm looking at one that I'm
- 34:13Speaker 1: seeing a juvenile. I'm too chaciteristic about it.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Have some faith in yourself, Spencer, geez, Phil.
- 34:19Speaker 1: We have two questions left. Give us a scoreboard update.
- 34:25Speaker 8: Trusted in Christine. I think you're a little too far
- 34:28Speaker 8: behind to catch up to the leaders of the pack.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Whom are? Who are? I don't know who? You tell me, Randall?
- 34:36Speaker 1: Who are?
- 34:38Speaker 8: Matt and Corey have five points? Randall and Giannis have
- 34:40Speaker 8: six and in first place he pulled ahead. It's Brody
- 34:43Speaker 8: Henderson was seven.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Corey shaking his head looking in Giannis's direction because he
- 34:48Speaker 1: gave him the bull trout answer.
- 34:49Speaker 5: I'll take a bone when you have time.
- 34:51Speaker 1: He'll buy a Vitamin R later maybe two. Question nine,
- 34:56Speaker 1: the topic is hunting. This NASCAR drive, who was nicknamed
- 35:01Speaker 1: the Intimidator, was featured on Real Trees, Best of Monster
- 35:05Speaker 1: Bucks Volumes one, three, and seven.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Do you have those in your video library? Brand No?
- 35:16Speaker 1: No.
- 35:17Speaker 4: The only hunting DVDs of this style that I own
- 35:21Speaker 4: are Hounds in Hot Pursuit Volumes one and two.
- 35:25Speaker 1: That's probably like that Elk of North America book where.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Oh, they're phenomenal hounds and hot.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Randall will sell it to you yeah, I used to
- 35:35Speaker 4: watch these all the time.
- 35:36Speaker 2: What are they chasing everything?
- 35:39Speaker 4: There's one where deer, no animals that go in trees? No, no,
- 35:43Speaker 4: they do kill They do kill a pig too. But
- 35:47Speaker 4: there's a they go and shoot a lynx in Canada.
- 35:51Speaker 4: And the guy who's like running the dog like the
- 35:54Speaker 4: guide is wearing like a one.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Piece ski suit from the seventies.
- 36:00Speaker 2: It's like Neon colors and stuff like what is it
- 36:02Speaker 2: VHS DVD.
- 36:04Speaker 1: To be a mediater movie club? But only Randall gets
- 36:06Speaker 1: to participate that week. Oh, it's a great, it's a great.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Uh, I forgot the question again.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Question nine topic is hunting? This an S car driver
- 36:15Speaker 1: who was nicknamed the Intimidator was featured on Real Trees
- 36:19Speaker 1: Best of Monster Bucks Volumes one, three, and seven. For
- 36:23Speaker 1: those of you who got it right, is it because
- 36:25Speaker 1: of the nickname the Intimidator or because you remember this
- 36:28Speaker 1: person was featured on some hunting DVDs?
- 36:32Speaker 3: Never seen these DVDs? Okay maybe I haven't. I don't
- 36:36Speaker 3: know it, but I only i've seen them.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Okay, the Intimidator, the nickname Matt. You have this one right, Okay?
- 36:47Speaker 3: You know you put a clue up on the board. Yes,
- 36:49Speaker 3: some people might not realize.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Mm, who is everybody ready? What?
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yanna?
- 36:57Speaker 1: You give up?
- 36:58Speaker 2: No, I don't even know.
- 37:02Speaker 5: Oh, I see what true.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Devil's in the details, Yanni?
- 37:10Speaker 2: Oh like his number is in there?
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I thought it was something else. Go ahead
- 37:19Speaker 1: and reveal your an to be very stemic. We have
- 37:22Speaker 1: Christine Saying Dale Earnhardt, Tressa says Dale Earnhart. She crossed
- 37:29Speaker 1: out Junior, Matthews says Dale Earnhardt, Randall says Dale Earnhart Senior,
- 37:35Speaker 1: Corey says Dale Earnhardt Senior, Yanni Dale Earnhart, Brodie Dale Earnhart.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Everybody got it correct?
- 37:44Speaker 1: The correct answer is dart.
- 37:48Speaker 2: What's your problem?
- 37:49Speaker 1: I don't think he was. Was he actually senior? Was
- 37:52Speaker 1: it just junior?
- 37:55Speaker 3: Like, man, if it was junior, I would wrote, Junior,
- 37:59Speaker 3: come on, now.
- 38:00Speaker 2: You get it because it was so far back. I'm like,
- 38:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with daddy.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Now you're saying the hint was that number three was
- 38:07Speaker 1: in there?
- 38:07Speaker 2: I thought was.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Because Dale Earnhardt Junior once told a story of his
- 38:15Speaker 1: dad catching a poacher on their North Carolina farm. In
- 38:19Speaker 1: nineteen ninety three, Senior heard a gunshot on his property,
- 38:23Speaker 1: found the dead big buck, and then waited for the poacher.
- 38:26Speaker 1: When the poacher got to the deer, earn Hard emerged
- 38:29Speaker 1: from the bushes and ran the man down. When he
- 38:31Speaker 1: caught him, he punched the man in the face so
- 38:33Speaker 1: hard that he broke his hand. Earnhardt had to wear
- 38:36Speaker 1: a cast after that, but lied about how he got
- 38:39Speaker 1: it because he didn't want more people knowing about the
- 38:42Speaker 1: big bucks on his farm. Dale Earnhardt S, thank you, Mark.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Here's a correct answer. Review so far. Number one heart
- 38:50Speaker 1: attack while fighting a grass fire two Rainier three Tangy
- 38:56Speaker 1: four Washington DC five coey Fishent six bolt Trout seven
- 39:03Speaker 1: Cremfresh eight Golden Eagles nine. Dale Earnhardt S. Phil, give
- 39:09Speaker 1: this a scoreboard up date one last time.
- 39:14Speaker 8: All right, Brodie is still in the lead with eight points,
- 39:17Speaker 8: but Giannis and Randall have seven and can catch up
- 39:21Speaker 8: if Brody slips.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Here's question ten. The topic is fishing.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Pretty greasy and here it's icy.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Bass Master started hosting tournaments for this fish in two
- 39:32Speaker 1: thousand and three, with the twenty twenty four Cup held
- 39:35Speaker 1: at Florida's Appalachicola Bay. Bass Master started hosting tournaments for
- 39:43Speaker 1: this fish in two thousand and three, with the twenty
- 39:46Speaker 1: twenty four Cup held at Florida's appalachic Cola Bay. Brody,
- 39:51Speaker 1: who has a one point lead, was the quickest to answer, Brody,
- 39:55Speaker 1: do you have this one right? We'll find out, Randal,
- 39:58Speaker 1: do you have this one feeling pretty good? I guess
- 40:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 40:01Speaker 4: I had a gut instinct and I'm just trusting it
- 40:06Speaker 4: like Daylor and Art Senior would have done.
- 40:08Speaker 5: I never know the statistic of your question ten questions.
- 40:13Speaker 5: I feel like majority of the time they fall under fishing.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I don't think that's true. I also don't have a
- 40:19Speaker 1: way of tracking it without manually going back and looking
- 40:22Speaker 1: at every episode, so you can be right cool.
- 40:24Speaker 8: I'm kind of with Corey. I've noticed that too. I
- 40:25Speaker 8: don't know how accurate it is.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Well, and most of the time Brody's in the lead
- 40:29Speaker 5: by one and it's fishing question.
- 40:32Speaker 8: This is rigged.
- 40:33Speaker 5: No, I'm just you know nice.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Brody's a big bass Master fan, as we all know.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Bass Masters started hosting tournaments for this fish in two
- 40:45Speaker 1: thousand and three, with the twenty twenty four Cup held
- 40:48Speaker 1: at Florida's Apalachicola bay.
- 40:51Speaker 7: What you got.
- 40:52Speaker 2: What kind of bird is that on your hat?
- 40:56Speaker 5: This?
- 40:59Speaker 6: I think like a hunt ye, I think, yeah, chucker chucker,
- 41:04Speaker 6: might be a chucker devil bird.
- 41:06Speaker 3: No, it was on the free table, so I took that.
- 41:10Speaker 1: I like when your kids come into the office, it
- 41:12Speaker 1: doesn't matter if it's Yanni's, Brody's, or Steve's, they go
- 41:15Speaker 1: right to the.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Free table hats. Like, whatever you guys take, just make
- 41:22Speaker 2: sure it did not come from our house.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I think that has happened to the Rinella's before. I
- 41:29Speaker 1: heard Steve tell one of the kids as they were
- 41:31Speaker 1: walking out the door that he just brought that in.
- 41:36Speaker 1: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 41:40Speaker 1: have Christine saying tarpin, she crossed out reds. Tressa says bass,
- 41:45Speaker 1: Matt says largemouth bass, Randall says snook, Cory says crappie,
- 41:52Speaker 1: Yannis says peacock bass. Brody, this is redfish.
- 41:56Speaker 2: I like having a different answer than Brody.
- 41:58Speaker 1: We have a correct are in the room. It's redfish,
- 42:03Speaker 1: making Brody our winner with nine rap dancers.
- 42:08Speaker 6: Definitely, because like bass guys and redfish guys like use
- 42:12Speaker 6: a lot of the same shit man.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Friend of the show.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Brandon Paulinik competed in this Year'sdfish. He got third place,
- 42:21Speaker 1: But let me tell you about what else happened there.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Gary Moreno and Tony Vader won the twenty twenty four
- 42:28Speaker 1: bass Master Redfish Cup in October, but were disqualified a
- 42:32Speaker 1: month later. The Anglers failed to pass a polygraph test
- 42:35Speaker 1: after a competitor protested that they broke Rule five. Rule
- 42:39Speaker 1: five covers the practice policies, indicating the Anglers were either
- 42:43Speaker 1: pre fishing Appalachicola Bay in the three weeks leading up
- 42:46Speaker 1: to the tournament, or they solicited information during the tournament
- 42:50Speaker 1: from someone outside of the competition. As a result, the
- 42:53Speaker 1: second place team, Mike Fournett and Mark Robinson were declared
- 42:57Speaker 1: the winners and Brandon Polinic's team got third place, but
- 43:00Speaker 1: after the dq they ended up getting second.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Don't we all know that polygraphs are questionable in their accuracy.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I'd like that Master uses that I think we've all
- 43:11Speaker 1: moved on, except I'd like they didn't have any details
- 43:15Speaker 1: on their website besides saying this team broke rule five
- 43:18Speaker 1: by failing this polygraph. I'd like to know what specifically
- 43:21Speaker 1: happened and who ratted them out? Yeah, Phil uh Any
- 43:26Speaker 1: Final updates here. Brody wins with nine points, followed by
- 43:29Speaker 1: Randall and Giannis with seven, Cordy and Matt with six.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Brody as the winner. You get to choose with a
- 43:35Speaker 1: five hundred dollars donation from me. Eater goes what's it
- 43:38Speaker 1: going to be in order to.
- 43:42Speaker 6: In the last couple of years, there's been a bill
- 43:44Speaker 6: introduced in Pennsylvania and to end Sunday hunting or to
- 43:50Speaker 6: allow Sunday hunting. They have like three Sundays you're allowed
- 43:54Speaker 6: to hunt now.
- 43:55Speaker 1: But this Blue Laws.
- 43:56Speaker 6: Yeah, this bill would make all you know, every Sunday legal.
- 44:02Speaker 6: And it's like both times that bill has been tabled
- 44:05Speaker 6: without ever being voted on.
- 44:08Speaker 3: It just happened again a few days ago.
- 44:11Speaker 6: So I'm gonna donate the money to Pennsylvania BHA to
- 44:15Speaker 6: help them get this thing kind of across the finish line,
- 44:18Speaker 6: hopefully in the next year.
- 44:20Speaker 1: So hard to fathom though that still exists. Yeah, and
- 44:22Speaker 1: it used to be a lot of the pushback was
- 44:25Speaker 1: from the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
- 44:29Speaker 3: For various reasons.
- 44:31Speaker 6: Trespassing maybe was one of them, but they're like other
- 44:35Speaker 6: issues but now the Farm Bureau is on board because
- 44:38Speaker 6: Pennsylvania's deer population is high and they're damaging crops and
- 44:43Speaker 6: things like that. So with the Farm Bureau on board,
- 44:46Speaker 6: hopefully it gets across the finish well.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I saw some dandy bucks come out of Pennsylvania this year.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Makes you wish you could hunt on Sundays. There Brody
- 44:55Speaker 1: sending five hundred dollars to the Pennsylvania BHA and Mary
- 44:59Speaker 1: Chris everyone. This episode is coming out on Christmas Day.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Our next episode is New Year's Day, which as a reminder,
- 45:07Speaker 1: you should come listen because Phil Taylor is going to
- 45:10Speaker 1: be hosting that. It's going to be a fundle very excited.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Join us next week for more Meat Eater Trivia, the
- 45:16Speaker 1: only game show where conservation always wins.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Thank Spencer Christmas.
- 45:23Speaker 7: Yeah, Spencer from South Dakota. He's the host, using those
- 45:27Speaker 7: smooth mellow tones. He lays them questions down, and he
- 45:37Speaker 7: likes taking those two and three year old bucks. It
- 45:41Speaker 7: is an avid amateur
