- 0:00Hello, and this is your PCJ pop.
- 0:09I'm Shauna, and I'm Olivia.
- 0:12Olivia, what do you recommend this week?
- 0:15So I am going to recommend a show that came out a couple of months ago.
- 0:20It is called The Girlfriend, and it has the sexiest of all time, Olivia Cook.
- 0:28I'm so gorgeous.
- 0:30The hottest Olivia, and I say that as an Olivia.
- 0:33You're still my fave.
- 0:35Thank you.
- 0:36Notice how she didn't say the hottest.
- 0:38Oh, no.
- 0:39So hot.
- 0:40Okay, got it.
- 0:41Got it.
- 0:42Got it.
- 0:43Okay.
- 0:44But it has Olivia Cooke in it.
- 0:46Robin Wright and Laurie Davidson.
- 0:49I love Robin Wright.
- 0:51Oh, yeah.
- 0:52She directs it as well, so it is really, really good.
- 0:55And it's quite an interesting show.
- 0:58It talks about how memory is so subjective, right?
- 1:02So the whole show goes through Robin Wright, the mother and Olivia Cook, the girlfriend,
- 1:08and how they're navigating this incredibly toxic, like, mother, new girlfriend situation,
- 1:16and how they have completely different memories of how these things are going on.
- 1:21And it's like, the situation continues to escalate.
- 1:25And go through.
- 1:27And I watched it all in like a 24 hour span.
- 1:31It was very, very good, very spicy.
- 1:34Again, I'm obsessed with Olivia Cook.
- 1:36She looks amazing, but there is quite some good drama and tension within it.
- 1:42And you can find it on Amazon.
- 1:45That sounds delightful.
- 1:46I'm going to have to give that a whirl, especially.
- 1:50Am I bad for not being able to picture Olivia Cook looks like right now at the top of my
- 1:53head?
- 1:54And then, I'm going to have a high tower from House of Dragon.
- 1:56Oh my God, you're right.
- 1:57She's gorgeous.
- 1:58Yeah, I know.
- 1:59You guys have a look at me.
- 2:00Thank you.
- 2:01I will take that as such a compliment.
- 2:05The show that I am going to pop is a yearly favorite for my husband and I.
- 2:11It's a hug in a television.
- 2:13I am, of course, talking about the Great British Baking Show, also known as the Great British
- 2:19Bake Off.
- 2:21Do you watch Bake Off, Olivia?
- 2:23I've literally never seen it in episode.
- 2:25Oh my God.
- 2:26I love this show so much.
- 2:29It started in 2010 on BBC and now it is spun so many Bake Offs and just kind of reinvigorated
- 2:37a love of baking.
- 2:39What I like about it is unlike other cooking competitions or baking shows, everything feels
- 2:45very friendly.
- 2:48Everyone helps each other.
- 2:50Everyone's British.
- 2:51So, nice analysis doesn't hurt.
- 2:54And they cook in this giant tint in like a field and there's just b-roll of like bunnies
- 2:59and squirrels and they're like, "On today's challenge, the Bakers are making some cakes."
- 3:06And then Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith come in and judge everything and there's no cash
- 3:12prize.
- 3:13If you win Bake Off, you get a glass cake stand and that is it.
- 3:20You get the glory.
- 3:21Yes.
- 3:22And so they help each other every week.
- 3:25If somebody doesn't finish theirs, the other people will run over and help them finish.
- 3:30And it's just like, they're so funny.
- 3:32Everyone's so witty and it doesn't feel scripted at all.
- 3:36And I love Noel Fieldling.
- 3:38He is one of the hosts.
- 3:40They've had a couple different hosts of it.
- 3:43Superkins, Sandy, Tobskiv.
- 3:46I probably butchered that name.
- 3:48Not Lucas who is hilarious and Alison Hammond.
- 3:51But yeah, it's just every fall we get really excited for Bake Off season because it just feels
- 3:56like a little dose of serotonin.
- 3:59It kind of just calms your nervous system down a little bit, you know?
- 4:04Low stakes friendship television.
- 4:06We need more of that.
- 4:07I like that as your calming television show much more than my 600 bell lights.
- 4:15I do still watch that too sometimes, but I've seen like every episode at this point.
- 4:21Okay.
- 4:22So I can't just keep rewatching it.
- 4:26Catch that on the pop whenever a new season comes out.
- 4:29Yeah, I mean, but you know what?
- 4:31Screw it.
- 4:32600 pound live.
- 4:34But this week we are going to go ahead and pop the Great British Baking Show, which you
- 4:38can watch every year on Netflix.
- 4:41And also the girlfriend, which you can watch on Amazon Prime.
- 4:46And that is it for your PCJ Pop.
