- 0:00The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network. This is Alice
- 0:04Cooper, the original technodd and you're listening to tech Talk Radio. Welcome to
- 0:11another episode of tech Talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Block. It's
- 0:18Slick. It was kind of interesting though, because you know, I thought
- 0:25about it. We really have to talk about what took place with the big
- 0:31Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. It was funny, Sean Slick reached out to me.
- 0:36Slick was raving about it. I think like Slick's point was what Apple
- 0:41did was different than what we have seen in the past from other you know,
- 0:47other people that have decided let's go into the world of augmented reality,
- 0:51virtual reality, with the goggles, the whole bit. And Sean, did
- 0:54you get a chance to see the demonstration at all? I mean I watched
- 0:57what they showed on the you know, the keynote stuff, right. I
- 1:00was sitting, I hung. I was at work, and I told people,
- 1:03don't bother me. Yeah. I shut myself into one of our control
- 1:07rooms and anytime somebody came out, I said, get out, Like I
- 1:11did. Help I get out. I'll help you when it's over. And
- 1:15uh no, it was really cool. I was, you know, I
- 1:18knew they were going to announce their ARVR advice, right, we didn't know
- 1:23what the name was, and they the name for it is Apple Vision,
- 1:26which is I think it's probably one of the coolest names they've come up with
- 1:30in any of their products. Apple Vision. It's dope, right, And
- 1:34I was actually facetiming with a friend during the conference, talking listening and talking
- 1:38about the stuff, and it's just we were just are what, it's weird.
- 1:42It looks weird. And if it functions the way that they show it
- 1:48functioning with just like no controllers, eye tracking, all of this immersion stuff,
- 1:56right, it's gonna be really cool. Slick explained, like what you
- 2:00thought about it that made you go, oh wow, because you watched the
- 2:04first hour and then you said the second hour it was even more amazing.
- 2:07Yeah, I watched the whole thing. There's a lot to talk about.
- 2:10There's a lot I want to talk about. We could be here for the
- 2:14night. However, let's the thing that jumped out of me because we're gonna
- 2:17talk about the Vision prom um. And uh, I've never owned a MacBook.
- 2:23I've always I've always wanted one to try it out. I've used Max,
- 2:28I've used the mac Os, I've repaired it and all that. It's
- 2:30kind of neat um, but I've never really put it to use to see
- 2:34how it functions and performs for me. Yeah, and I'm a formed,
- 2:38particular formed guy. I mean, like the MacBook Air when it first came
- 2:40out. I mean, and some of the some of the other MacBooks are
- 2:43too small, screens are too small. You know, I'm in there like
- 2:46this working and I can't do that. Ye done the same issues too well.
- 2:51But Kaylin has Kaylen got a MacBook Air back in twenty thirteen, right,
- 2:54there was the first release of the MacBook Air at the Intel. I
- 2:58five in it, you know, two hundred andy six meg or gig of
- 3:01of storage, you know, the whole bit, right, And it's just
- 3:06really small. The thirteen inch screen on those is tiny, and they had
- 3:09a ten inch one also, right. It just was so small. I
- 3:14didn't know why they would do it, but you know, they sold them,
- 3:15so I guess it worked. You know, people loved them. And
- 3:17then I assume it's because of the Mac experience, That's what I think,
- 3:23not because it was you know so well, the Airs the Air sold really
- 3:27well, because they were the first slimmist slimist laptop you could get on the
- 3:31market. It slid into a person, backpack, you name it, right,
- 3:35The battery life was incredible for them. They didn't have the brightest display,
- 3:38so if you were working outside of all they were garbage. Right.
- 3:43But it was a very lightweight, compact laptop. But it was also the
- 3:46first to get rid of most of the buphrails, right, most of the
- 3:50USB, most of the thunderbolt, most of the actual Landport RG forty five
- 3:55parts. Right. So you had the people that hated it, but you
- 4:00have Apple who was five six years ahead of the wireless generation, right,
- 4:05Yeah, And you look back at everything Apple's done and they've always been five
- 4:10six years ahead of innovation. And so what does that look like now for
- 4:15the MacBook errors? Is like the MacBook error was five years ahead of six
- 4:18years ahead of where it is now. And now look where's that? And
- 4:23I think that's where Slick's going with with the with the error they announced during
- 4:26the show. Yes I am, and just a reminder, seaw, my
- 4:29birthday is coming up, so the backbook Air fifteen, I am in I'm
- 4:34I mean, if if I really want one of these. I did check
- 4:38all the pricing. I think it starts a like twelve ninety nine or something
- 4:41like that. I don't know what the RAM is on it. But because
- 4:44of because the way I work, and I'm not normal, I'm not like
- 4:47everybody else. I mean, I need a lot because I have opened up
- 4:53way too many browsers, with way too many windows, with way too many
- 4:56tabs, and way too many applications running into background. That is me.
- 5:00So you know, if I can't have what I want on one platform,
- 5:03I used three computers at the same time. Why when I worked for Microsoft,
- 5:09we had three computers at our desk at the same time for that reason.
- 5:12Did you really wow? Yeah? Yeah. I had in front of
- 5:15me, I had my main computer, and off to the right then I
- 5:17had what would be considered my computer. So Microsoft set this up. However,
- 5:23you want to do whatever you want now. Over to my left,
- 5:25I had what we called the break me the Beta box, so I could
- 5:30do literally anything to it or mimic you know, somebody calls it and I
- 5:34got a problem, Well, I would damage. I could damage my Beta
- 5:38machine and then just wipe the drive and start over right right, you know,
- 5:42that's what it was there for to mimic the problem somebody else was having.
- 5:45You know, yeah, I'm wondering though. Okay, So at twelve
- 5:47ninety nine as a price point, right, when you talk to people that
- 5:53maybe are not that ingrained in see they use a PC, they've never gone
- 5:59over to Mac to experience what the macOS can do that's different, right,
- 6:04And some people will say, well, Windows eleven is basically looks just like
- 6:08the Mac and blah blah blah. Right, But the problem is, how
- 6:12do you convince a consumer that is in that position, that has been a
- 6:15PC user for so many years to say, look at this twelve ninety nine
- 6:20MacBook that that you could use and it does this. When they look and
- 6:26they see, oh, look this a sus or this Dell machine for four
- 6:31ninety nine or a chromebook even, how do you convince them that it's gonna
- 6:34work. I'm gonna ask them one question, right, I'm gonna ask them
- 6:38if they have an iPhone or an Android. If they have an iPhone,
- 6:43I'm gonna say, get a MacBook because it is going to be a seamless
- 6:46integration for everything you're doing under iPhone. It's gonna look just like your iPhone.
- 6:51It's gonna act just like your iPhone. You're gonna be able to handoff
- 6:55apps between the two, like if you're all synked up with I Cloud.
- 6:58It's it's a it is become a seamless solution with the with the introduction of
- 7:03the M one, the Apple Silicon, the M one chip, and now
- 7:06the M two chips. And we'll talk about the chips too, because I'm
- 7:10gonna blow your mind with some spects on some of the MacBook pros, the
- 7:13mac pro stuff they announced too. Right, it's a it's it's a user
- 7:17experience. Right, if you're familiar with your iPhone, you're going to be
- 7:21familiar with your Mac. It's that if that's it. Yeah, there may
- 7:26be some Oh I can use text at it instead a notepad, or you
- 7:30know, if you're a little bit more of a savvy user, it's terminal
- 7:31instead of the command line. Right, It's like there are some nuances that
- 7:34are different, but if you're just using it to browse the web and do
- 7:39your social media and do a little bit of photo editing, the experience is
- 7:43the same. Between that and a PC can agree with him. The integration
- 7:46is just great. Yeah, I agree with him. I'm kind of wondering
- 7:48if some of the the you know, the there is some good groups of
- 7:51Mac groups that are out here, whether they be power users or first time
- 7:56users, if somebody thinking about getting a Max should go visit some of these
- 8:01Mac groups that have their you know, meetings maybe once a month, or
- 8:03go to an Apple store put your hands on it Apple store or even even
- 8:07a Best Buy that has you know, they're a little Apple area there.
- 8:11I found that those reps are actually pretty knowledgeable, well because they're hired by
- 8:16Apple. Has in best Buy, it's it's a pseudo Apple store, right,
- 8:20they are actually Apple representatives in Best Buys. And remember, ladies and
- 8:24gentlemen, as I always say, ask about the return policy. Yeah,
- 8:30why why would you do that? Because you know some people are not happy.
- 8:33They'll take they'll take it and they I thank it, you know,
- 8:37after you give it. I say a week and a half because I will
- 8:39assume the return policy is as short as two weeks, but it could be
- 8:43longer. Yeah. I had somebody not long ago ask me that they were
- 8:46going to finally you know, go in and buy a buy a Mac,
- 8:50you know, desktop Mac that they really wanted to have and uh, they
- 8:54said what should they do with their PC? And I said, keep it,
- 8:58put it to the side, because they You're gonna be able to go
- 9:00back and forth until you've fully ingrained in that OS. It's like you know,
- 9:05taking somebody and putting them in you know, a Porsche or a Ferrari
- 9:09and saying go ahead and drive it, or a car with a stick shift.
- 9:11There's there's certain things you need to learn before you make that one hundred
- 9:16degree switch. I think the idea of going to it. We have a
- 9:18you know, an Apple store at lon Cantata. This will give them the
- 9:22opportunity to get, like you said, hands on and ask the questions.
- 9:26Yeah, he was kind of one of the points I wanted to make before
- 9:28I forget about it. About the backbook Air fifteen. If I can get
- 9:33one, I'm gonna I'm gonna. I'm gonna go for the the twenty four
- 9:37gigabyte RAM unit only because I want to really put it through its paces.
- 9:41I want to open up, like I said, multiple windows and run all
- 9:43and see if I can choke it. I can choke computers. I've choked
- 9:48them, yeah, still choking them. I want to see with this new
- 9:52integration of the mac os and their M two chips. I want to see.
- 9:56Yeah. Now, all right, speaking of M two. Now,
- 9:58I know Sean, you've looked at some of the specs and we talked about
- 10:01M two the first time we heard about it last year or even the year
- 10:05before. It might have been, I don't remember, but you were even
- 10:09then excited about what kind of performance that these M two chips are going to
- 10:13give. Yeah, So they announced the M two Ultra chip. Right,
- 10:18So for for for those of you who are listening, I work in a
- 10:22broad I'm a broadcast engineer. I work in broadcasting, and this is why
- 10:24I'm excited. Right, they finally announced for the Mac pros PCI Lane support,
- 10:33PCI Express card support. Wow, so your Mac pros can now put
- 10:39in Aja cards, black Magic cards, you name it, Matrox cards,
- 10:43anything that's going to be able to do IO, video, audio, io
- 10:50at PCI four. So that's incredible, right, So that's a huge step.
- 10:54But the Mac two, the M two Ultra right up to twenty four
- 11:00cores of CPU seventy six seventy six core GPU. It's they're they're claiming it's
- 11:07forty times faster than the UH the m one, uh four times faster than
- 11:13the Intel based Imax, six times faster than the uh yeah, six times
- 11:18faster than that ten gig ethernet. It's got Thunderbolt four. You can do
- 11:24up to one hundred and ninety two gigs of memory. Lam whow oh.
- 11:30And they're saying that their memory internally will do eight hundred gigabits worth of bandwidth
- 11:35between the memory. It's just in crazy crazy. So I'm gonna the stat
- 11:39that that stuck out to be the most in this In this was days were
- 11:46saying that the new Max Studios, not the MacPro, the macpros probably they
- 11:50didn't have a lot of stats on the Mac Pro yet. Yeah, so
- 11:54this is the Max Studio could take in twenty four four K streams so it
- 12:01could play back in real time twenty four four K streams while also simultaneously transcoding
- 12:09them to Apple pro rets with zero frame drops or whatever. They said.
- 12:13They said some sort of really incredible you know, feet of engineering, right,
- 12:20but that's crazy, twenty four four K streams playing while also transcoding those
- 12:28twenty four streams and storing that as pro Apple progress. So for the for
- 12:35the broadcast professional or media, whether it be you know, local streaming media,
- 12:41whether it be production of like a production house. This would be a
- 12:45solution that they would want to go to if they want to take less time
- 12:48sitting in front of the computer doing rendering, streaming, broadcasting record of the
- 12:52whole bit. Yeah, app apples just the last handful of updates for the
- 12:56M one chips have just into and Amdy have got to pick it up if
- 13:01they want to keep competing. Yeah, because if you're a production house,
- 13:05you're you're buying up as much MP to ultras as you can buy right now,
- 13:09Slick you you like that? Yeah? I do, I do.
- 13:11I was you know, I was just wondering after they were rattling off the
- 13:15specs to to Sean while he was watching the U the keynote. You know,
- 13:20when at what point did you faint and then somebody picked you up off
- 13:22the floor. My jaw was on the floor for most of it. Right.
- 13:26It's just like it's when one of my other engineers was in there while
- 13:31we were watching this part. Did you say, did they say twenty four
- 13:33streams? And I said yeah, and then they said while also transcoding to
- 13:41pro resid It's like it just was like you just kind of shake your head
- 13:43and go, that's doesn't seem possible, right, because you think about it,
- 13:48right, ten years ago, most Apple machines couldn't natively support H two
- 13:54six four right when Final Cut ten came out, when they launched Final Cut
- 13:58ten or what became Final Cut pro right, they did not natively support and
- 14:03before or anything except progres right. So it's like, it's crazy to think
- 14:07in that amount of them that jump now we're here, right, it's crazy
- 14:13how fast well we're going. Let's let's talk about the technology that that also
- 14:18got the most pressed. Now what we're talking about probably, Yeah, there
- 14:22were a lot of the tech publications. We're covering it. David David Polke
- 14:28I think was covering some of it. But it seemed to be like even
- 14:31David and some of the major the other major journalists were more into the you
- 14:37know, Apple vision because that's honestly what the public is going to see and
- 14:41say, wow, I get it just by seeing what it does. So
- 14:46it's different from Oculus, whereas Oculus provides the experience all within the goggle.
- 14:52Everything is in the goggle or you've seen if you've used any of the other
- 14:56devices where you have your smartphone, you know inside something you're wearing on your
- 15:00head, that's what you're looking at. Apple Vision has pulled that block and
- 15:05now they're giving you your reality mixed with this virtual reality that Apple or augmented
- 15:11reality that Apple is able to do someone akin to being and I hate to
- 15:16compare it to the but remember Pokemon Go. You're going down the street.
- 15:20Oh you know, think about it's probably a bad example, but you're going
- 15:24down the street. There's your little squiggle and you you you're interacting with it
- 15:28that way. It's the same kind of idea that you're in your reality,
- 15:33but you've got this augmented reality that's in front of you. Uh, Tim
- 15:39Cook, I think what did the demonstration where he was showing, you know,
- 15:41he could he could turn his head to the right and there was a
- 15:46screen that would be the icons. So you're not looking, you know,
- 15:50moving a mouse over A to a on a monitor. There in the air
- 15:54is your icons. And he puts his hand up in the air and you
- 15:58know, he pushes the icon virtually that he wants and it will start the
- 16:03program on the screen in the middle. I mean, it's pretty amazing,
- 16:08but will people spend that money for this technology. Yeah. I kind of
- 16:15slunk back into my chair because I was like this. I was all I
- 16:18was on the edge of my seat, on the end of my seat,
- 16:19and I was like, all right, this is gonna be like two grand,
- 16:22right, right. I was like this, that's gonna be It's gonna
- 16:25be the price point, it's gonna be amazing, it's gonna be affordable.
- 16:29Four thousand dollars s thirty nine nine nine. Yeah, four grand is a
- 16:33lot of money. It's a lot of money. Do you mean drones I
- 16:36could buy with that much of money. Well, you can't buy one entire
- 16:40Inspire. Let's face it. I can't buy the Inspire, right, but
- 16:42I could buy four magot pros. Yeah, Or you can put the down
- 16:47payment on the Inspire. That would be good. It's just I just I
- 16:49get it right. It's Apple, and they have to be. They're light
- 16:55years ahead of the other tech, right just from what I saw, right,
- 16:59it feels like they are five years six years ahead of you know,
- 17:03the Halevision and the the Well, the other headsets, you know, the
- 17:11Beta one, the Medu, but not that much, not that price point.
- 17:17Yeah, Flick, would this be something you would find use for.
- 17:19Absolutely, he's just mad about the money this, gentleman. Welcome to the
- 17:25world of spatial computing. This is a stuff that was in the movies.
- 17:30We are here now, and this is what it costs to enter this world.
- 17:34We'll start at thirty five hundred. Yeah, we'll just start. Everything
- 17:37starts to where we can't afford it. Well, yeah, I think if
- 17:41you think about computers back in the nineties, you know, you got to
- 17:45look at a PC with a core maybe a tenth of the power that we
- 17:48get today, and you were going to spend thirty nine hundred dollars. Yeah,
- 17:52Yeah, I just think it's a it's yeah, you're right, it's
- 17:55everything has a price to be at the bleeding edge, right, But if
- 18:00you look at what people people have been specking out PC rigs, full emergent
- 18:04VR rigs, and they're just barely touching the four k mark on some of
- 18:11that. Yeah, right, So I think you're you're just you're gonna get
- 18:15the people that want to spend the money and be at the bleeding edge,
- 18:18and just if they made it a little bit more affordable, they could pull
- 18:22in such a larger market share. But yeah, but they're gonna make enough
- 18:29money off, gonna make enough to get started, come on, but then
- 18:33they'll lower the price and they come up with a different model for us poor
- 18:37people. And a listener Mark who called here at the station I was on
- 18:41that day and was asking me about it, and I wanted to know though,
- 18:45if they were to drop that money on the the Apple Vision, would
- 18:49they also have to own a Mac. Nope, so it's all self contained.
- 18:53A yeah, it runs Vision os. Now back going back to what
- 19:02we said earlier, right, all this this whole ecosystem, right, So
- 19:04if you have a Mac or an iPad, it's gonna be great because one
- 19:10thing, one of the coolest features I think was part of it was you
- 19:12have your back running. You just say, all right, I want my
- 19:17desktop in VR, and you just say, give me my desktop and you
- 19:21just look over and there's your desktop and it runs everything off of your computer,
- 19:25So your computer is still doing all the processing and all that stuff,
- 19:29but you're seeing the virtually rendered desktop within your air environment. Yeah. On
- 19:33the only downside to this, and I was telling Glory about that and I
- 19:37showed her the demo is that you know she works in the health health industry
- 19:41and asked to meet people, and you know, they come and give that
- 19:45info. If she had something like that and they were utilizing that, they'd
- 19:48be pointing up in the air. You'd see people. That's all they're doing,
- 19:52pointing everywhere, you know, trying to get access to all the screeds
- 19:56and the prompts and the whole bit. I mean, it would it would
- 20:00be kind of cool to see. Yeah, it's going to be interesting seeing
- 20:03somebody else use it without context. Yeah, where it's like, is there
- 20:11going to be a way where you can see what they're seeing internally? Like,
- 20:15you know, if I have my heads up again my computer, I
- 20:17can still output what my headset is seeing to a monitor so other people can
- 20:21watch what I'm seeing. But it's an idea. Yeah, is that I
- 20:25don't think that's part of this, but it's just no, you know.
- 20:27But it's weird because if I walk in the room and you're wearing the goggles
- 20:32or the you know, the vision it's smart enough to know that you're in
- 20:34the room and makes it so you can see my eyes. Yeah, that
- 20:40is that's so trippy. It's and yeah, you would know somebody's there.
- 20:42It's not like you're a closed experience like the you know, made of headsets
- 20:48where you're you don't know if somebody's behind you, which is kind of scary.
- 20:52In this case, you're fully aware of what's going on in the room,
- 20:55which again that could also be a real popular selling point for people who
- 20:57want to try it. And I know Slick is one of those. I
- 21:03want to use it. I don't want to just try it. I want
- 21:04to use it. I want to be able to not have to sit here
- 21:07and talk to you, and I could we could do this and I could
- 21:08walk to the kitchen and start making sandwiches while we're doing the broadcast. I
- 21:12mean, you know, I don't have to be right here in front of
- 21:15the computer. We can tell more Mustard, more Mayo. Yeah, exactly.
- 21:18All right, we gotta take a quick break. Coming up, we're
- 21:22gonna talk with representatives from Netgear. Netgear has been making some great products.
- 21:26We recently looked at the Mural two, which is a digital photo frame and
- 21:32was great. But they got so many other great products. And I don't
- 21:33know if you guys know this, but June is Internet Safety Month, so
- 21:37it's kind of a great month to find out some products that they have that
- 21:41can help keep you safe while you're using your routers, your modems and other
- 21:45technology in the home. Also, if you're going to go stay in a
- 21:48hotel, why you want to take one of their devices with you. So
- 21:52we'll find out about that, and then we're going to talk about irrigation digital
- 21:56technology to help you irrigate your yards. That's all coming up with more of
- 22:00tech talk Radio. I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Seanda Ward. I am Slick.
- 22:04Find us on the radio at tech talk radio dot com and on the
- 22:07web too. Find us on the radio. Oh, that's right, and
- 22:15that factor tech talk radio. You know, I get really excited when we
- 22:18see new products and we see products that help us when it comes to getting
- 22:22online and our online security. And one of the companies that has been at
- 22:26the forefront for that is Netgear, and with us on the line is our
- 22:30senior product line manager with Netgear, Shalini sen Gupta. Welcome to tech talk
- 22:36Radio. Not to be here, thanks for having me. Can you tell
- 22:38us a little history about the company. I think everybody's heard about it,
- 22:42but where did Netgear get it start? Shalini? So, it's actually twenty
- 22:47five plus year company it's almost getting onto its third decade now. It's based
- 22:52in Santa Clara. It's it's an American company, and it's always been in
- 22:56networking solutions, and it's always been in both the home and the business networking
- 23:02solutions. So what it's most known for, I think are it's a abbiline
- 23:07of Mesh products. It's Nighthawk routers, cable modems, so the entire networking
- 23:12solution. And when it started out, it was, as you said,
- 23:17you know, it was known for some of its innovation that it brought to
- 23:18its space, and now we're also getting into all the security services and other
- 23:23services around some of these products. Essentially, this month is Internet Safety Month.
- 23:30What does that mean for a company like Netgear. I think it's about
- 23:33bringing awareness around safety to the community, to the educators, to essentially everybody
- 23:42and anybody who's using the Internet. We just released a report, you know,
- 23:48we were working with our partner, bid Defender, and we're seeing that
- 23:52you know, on average household today has around forty six connected devices. Wow,
- 23:57forty six connected so yeah, and most of these are like IOD devices,
- 24:03et cetera. So it's really about, you know, bringing awareness about
- 24:06the threats and dangers as you use all these products online and as some of
- 24:11this threat landscape also changes. Essentially, Yeah, we hear all the time
- 24:15about ransomware attacks. We hear about attacks even just on regular you know,
- 24:19mom nipop, small business or even homeowners that just you know, just get
- 24:23online. They think they're just checking email, and there's so many different things
- 24:26that can happen. But we have to be concerned too, not only with
- 24:32the companies and you know, our parents, but our children. Our children
- 24:36get online and do you have any tips? I know that you know people
- 24:40are always asking me, hey, how do I you know, how do
- 24:41I keep my kids safe when they're getting online at home? I think some
- 24:45of it is basic education, right, I mean, just having that conversation
- 24:49with your child about what where to go and where not to what links to
- 24:55click is an important one. I mean, so you could have you can
- 25:00have malicious u rls that you click on, which you know, put essentially
- 25:06agents that can deposit malware on your devices. So it's really about a little
- 25:11bit of it is around education. UM. You know, you all also
- 25:15want to take basic precautions like UM, you know, ensure that you have
- 25:21some kind of security software UM and you have some kind of parental controls.
- 25:25So parental controls, for example, would allow you to filter out URLs that
- 25:30are not you know, child appropriate, etc. So some of those kind
- 25:34of basic tools, um you know, having those uh also allows you that
- 25:41second layer kind of of precaution. There is a misconception, isn't there when
- 25:45it comes to people who say, you know, I just use my computer
- 25:48for email, that's all I do. Or maybe you know, I'll go
- 25:52on to Etsy or I'll go on one of the many sites out there maybe
- 25:56buy stuff, and they think that they're they're safe, they think they don't
- 26:00need this extra layer of protection. But really that is a misconception because even
- 26:06with just getting an email that can open up our systems to malware and other
- 26:10types of problems we may run into. Absolutely. I mean, it's one
- 26:14of the I think most common forms of a threat you know of basically you
- 26:21know, people kind of hacking into your device. Because some of the most
- 26:26common things are obviously stam as where you know just the amount of stam you
- 26:30get and slows out on your device, etc. So you want to be
- 26:33careful of that. You want to be careful of all the fishing links I
- 26:37was just talking about some examples. You know, I was just reading an
- 26:40article that you know, Google used to have this verified or just had introduced
- 26:44this verified checkmark right right, and you know, very recently. Basically what
- 26:48happened is somebody managed to spoof it essentially or hack it. So it was
- 26:52meant to validate or verify your identity. And so now you have a situation
- 26:59where that's being spool so you don't know that those people are actually who they
- 27:03say they are, right, so you have I think emails are targeted most
- 27:08often, you know, and it's one of the like, as I said,
- 27:11one of the most common forms of threats of threat actually just the other
- 27:18day and I've been in this, I've been doing this for over thirty years.
- 27:22The other day I got an email in from on my Exfinity account from
- 27:26Exfinity saying, you know your bills passed you and I'm thinking, huh no,
- 27:30it shouldn't be pasted, duo, it's not you know, not do
- 27:33the eighth And I remember I clicked to see the email and I didn't click
- 27:37any links. But then I thought, way, Andy, what are you
- 27:40doing. You know you don't do that, don't click on anything. In
- 27:42an email because that opens you up. Now, we have some listeners that
- 27:47may be listening that say, well, you know, I love neck gear.
- 27:49I've got neck gear equipment, but they may have bought it about twelve
- 27:52years ago, fifteen years ago. There have been new vulnerabilities, there have
- 27:56been, of course strides and getting our access three, getting that a lot
- 28:02faster. Is it going to benefit the average user to actually look at some
- 28:06of the products that are available now to maybe upgrade or enhance their Internet corrected
- 28:11devices? Yeah, I mean all your whether it's the device or the router,
- 28:15I think, you know, having regular updates. So the problem with
- 28:18some of these old devices is they don't get all the security updates right,
- 28:22Yeah, and they might not even be fully updated in terms of their operating
- 28:26systems, so you know, they're prone to vulnerabilities and prone to essentially being
- 28:33hacked. Routers. You know, we constantly deliver firmware updates right on our
- 28:40routers for example, making sure you're updated to the latest is really important.
- 28:45But if it's really that old, like twelve plus years old, sometimes it
- 28:48doesn't even get these updates. They're not even compatible with a lot of the
- 28:52you know, newer kind of releases, So I think it's really important to
- 28:56kind of either mean and totally overhaul your system or keep upgrading essentially. You
- 29:03know. The other issue is a lot of these as you know, kind
- 29:07if you progress as the newer releases have a lot of these enhanced security future
- 29:11features, for example built in VPN, you know, so you don't have
- 29:18access to all of that as or better fire walls. You don't have access
- 29:22to all of that if you don't have essentially the latest security product. I
- 29:26talked to somebody recently that was paying for, you know, high speed cable
- 29:30access, and they were using an old modem and they didn't realize that they
- 29:36were kept out with that old modem. You need to upgrade that modem,
- 29:38which is what I did, and I got myself a Netcare modem and I
- 29:42love it. Suddenly I saw my speeds going from the two hundred to three
- 29:45hundred all the way up to almost a gig a bit because that's what I
- 29:49was paying for. Yeah. Absolutely, I talked about the security aspect of
- 29:52it, but exactly, I mean, performance is a huge issue as well.
- 29:56If you're not going to optimize what you pay for on those older equipment.
- 30:00So it's really uh, you know what's looking at and upgrade periodically.
- 30:06Now I know that some people have asked us to you know, they may
- 30:08have a deal with their cable company or even in some cases DSL provider.
- 30:14When it comes to that equipment, you pay rental on it. Uh.
- 30:18And I had a director at the TV station just ask me he's got DSL
- 30:22uh And I hadn't run a speed test and it was it was horrid,
- 30:26It was horrid. Um. But he wanted to know. Um. He
- 30:27wanted to get out of paying for that rental for from the from the provider
- 30:33uh. And wanted to know what's the best way to go. And I
- 30:34said, well, you could get your own modem, You can get your
- 30:37own router. In many cases, it's just a matter of checking with the
- 30:41company. Is that something wise to do for people if they really want to
- 30:45control their own situation. So it's not just like if you're talking about the
- 30:49security aspects of this, um, you know, it's not just the security
- 30:53of their routo. It's the security of everything that's connected to that device.
- 30:57Right. It can be a point of essentially a source of getting hat And
- 31:03so when you look at all the IoT devices for example on you in your
- 31:07home network. Those are most vulnerable to be attacked. And if you're just
- 31:11support you know, kind of protecting your router, you're not really protecting all
- 31:15those additional devices, right. So having something that you know you're purchasing on
- 31:22retail oftentimes gives you that added security where you are not just protecting your router,
- 31:30but everything that's connecting to it. Right, You're kind of blocking out
- 31:33any kind of sources for vulnerabilities. UM. You know. So for example,
- 31:40the net year Router has come with this subscription service called Armor, which
- 31:44allows you kind of that level of security. UM. Also you know,
- 31:48you basically you get maybe you get some of the latest technology because a lot
- 31:55of these companies are you know, just focus their experts at you know what
- 31:59they do, which is the networking solution. You know, it's it's um
- 32:01that's that's essentially what they focus on. And you just have a wider option.
- 32:07You know, one size sometimes doesn't fit all homes, you know,
- 32:10like mesh systems for example, if you have larger homes, UM you know,
- 32:15UM, where you are looking for a wider coverage. UM. You
- 32:20know. In those cases, you know you want kind of something which which
- 32:24gives you a little more of that network, that network coverage. You know,
- 32:29there are other things I could talk about, like who has your data?
- 32:31Like, you know, do you know exactly things? You know?
- 32:36Are those you know I sps? Do they have visibility and all your data?
- 32:39Are you comfortable with that? You know? Net net Year for example,
- 32:44does not collect user data um you know, customer support. You know,
- 32:46there are other kind of you know, think kind of factors to think
- 32:51through UM as users kind of decide what solution is the best for them.
- 32:57And that gear has a wide range of products, does it. I mean
- 33:00for somebody that maybe lives at a small home that has maybe a PC connected
- 33:05or Mac or maybe even two that are connected, but wants to have this
- 33:08to be able to go throughout this smaller home, they have products for that.
- 33:13But if then they have this big expansive mansion like I don't have,
- 33:17then they could then they could also use this this Mesh system, which is
- 33:22pretty amazing and we're seeing more and more about this and getting faster throughput.
- 33:27But some people don't understand how Mesh really kind of kind of works. Yeah,
- 33:30exactly, So, I mean, so the MESH systems essentially have satellites,
- 33:36which you know, allow you to kind of get coverage. Better coverage
- 33:40is a coverage in those rooms that are really far out from your main kind
- 33:45of router versus you know, something like our Nighthawks set of products, which
- 33:50is all about speed and performance, but doesn't have that kind of mesh coverage.
- 33:54So it really depends on what you're looking for. But yeah, Netgear
- 33:59kind of goes across both types of products and types of networking solutions. But
- 34:04the Nighthawk looks so amazing. I mean it really does. I mean it's
- 34:07it sits there and it looks cool. When you think of some of our
- 34:10devices we've had over the years. Yeah, you know it looks like a
- 34:15box. This one looks pretty pretty stand out. Now there's also a product,
- 34:19it's called the Nighthawk em sex Pro. Is this something that you would
- 34:22take with you if you were traveling, maybe you're gonna stay in a hotel.
- 34:25You want to be connected, and there's always kind of a little security
- 34:29reminders when it comes to that. The Nighthawk m sex pro essentially, so
- 34:35you want to have secure Wi Fi wherever you go, right, and then
- 34:37you know you want that reliable Wi Fi as well and so, and then
- 34:44you want those higher speeds compared to a typical WiFi. And those are all
- 34:46the reasons why you would take something you would connect to something like an M
- 34:50sex pro. It allows you to simultaneously connect to you know, various devices,
- 34:57and is password protected, is encrypted. Um, it's more convenient from
- 35:01that perspective, So you definitely want to take something like this mobile hot spot.
- 35:07UM. It's better than you know, just having using your phone as
- 35:12a hot spot. UM. You know, because of all the convenience I
- 35:15talked about, and you know, sometimes you also get those unwanted ads when
- 35:20you start connecting to some of these public WIFISUM. So all reasons to kind
- 35:27of have your own kind of mobile hotspot, UM, something like an M
- 35:30six pro. When it comes to you know, Internet Security Month, here
- 35:34we talk about protecting the home network and you you're touched upon Armor. How
- 35:38does that work? Yeah, So Armor is essentially built into your all your
- 35:44Obi and Nighthawk products. So there's an agent that's on your router. So
- 35:50each time you're connecting any device connected to that router, and that route itself
- 35:54is essentially protected. So all, um, you know, all the traffic
- 36:00is filtered UM, and we ensure that there is and we slag any malware,
- 36:05any kinds of threats. UM, you'll get an instant notification saying we've
- 36:08detected it and you've blocked it. So it's not just at that router level,
- 36:13but it's all the devices you know that you that are connecting to it,
- 36:17whether it's your smart TV. You know, the same report I was
- 36:22referencing earlier was talking about how smart TVs and you know, some of these
- 36:27IoT devices are the largest sources of vulnerabilities. Vulnerabilities being essentially backdoors that hackers
- 36:35can end. It can essentially hack and you know, infiltrate into your network.
- 36:38So it's really important not just to protect you know, your PC or
- 36:44your laptop, but everything that's connected. And that's what armored does UM.
- 36:49And you know it's it's also got so assume you know, if you're taking
- 36:53your device and you're outside your house, UM, it's got an antivirus software
- 36:59that you can down road so you can continue to stay protected even though you're
- 37:01outside your house. It also has VPN, it has some added kind of
- 37:07benefits and features that like ANTITHEP protection, all of that that you can utilize
- 37:14and this is for unlimited devices, you know, so it's pretty cool.
- 37:17That way, very good. Now, if our listeners want to get more
- 37:21information about some of the different products that are available from Netgear to protect them
- 37:25not only during Internet Security Month this month, but also you know, just
- 37:30to know that they have that peace of mind, what's the best thing to
- 37:32do. Yes, so you can just go on to Netgear dot com and
- 37:37get all the information on the Netgear products. And as I said, Armor
- 37:43is our security subscription. It's a subscription service, so it's built onto all
- 37:49these orb and nighthawks. So once you purchase that router, you can you
- 37:52get activated, and you can you get automatically activated, and then you know,
- 37:57you can decide after your trial whether you want to purchase it on.
- 38:00But yeah, Netgear dot com should give you all the information on all our
- 38:04routers and then all our subscription services. Now, for our listeners that have
- 38:08been thinking, you know, maybe Orbit would be the good way to go
- 38:12because they've got different rooms throughout the home that some don't get the best signal,
- 38:15and they may have they may be able to want to watch you know,
- 38:19they're streaming streaming media on their big television. What is that easy to
- 38:23set up. Is that something that you know, somebody listening right now that
- 38:27maybe is not two tech savvy but likes this idea, would like to do
- 38:30this? Can they implement that pretty easily? Yeah? I mean so our
- 38:36whole set up process is you have a guide which is really simple. It's
- 38:40two three steps and it's pretty automatic. Like once you once you uh,
- 38:45you know, kind of unbox it and said, you know, kind of
- 38:46plug it in. It's you know, there's hardly a couple of steps just
- 38:52in terms of setting up your account and then you're pretty much, you know,
- 38:54good to go. Takes should take you five minutes to really set it
- 39:00up. Essentially, it's a quick onboarding process. Very good, Selni,
- 39:05thank you so much for coming on tech Talk Radio. Give it us a
- 39:07great overview of the products available from Netgear and again that's netgear dot com for
- 39:13our listeners. How many questions they could do that it or drop us a
- 39:15line and we'll definitely answer that for him. Thank you again for coming on
- 39:19the show. Thanks for having me. This is fun. Thanks Andy,
- 39:22Thank you. And if you've been thinking about using technology to help not only
- 39:25in the house, but how about outside the home around the yard new technology
- 39:30from a company called Eera Green. We'll find out what that's all about and
- 39:34how we can save you money. Coming up on tech talk Radio. Find
- 39:37us on the web at tech talk radio dot com. Now back to TikTok
- 39:42Radio and welcome back to tech talk Radio. You know, it's great when
- 39:47we find smart home technology that helps us in our homes. There's so many
- 39:52different products now, I mean, even our refrigerators can be smart refrigerators.
- 39:58But when it comes to the outside of the home and when it comes to
- 40:01you know, managing what's going on outside, there are ways to make that
- 40:06even easier and to help be conservative when it comes to our environment. And
- 40:12there is a company out there called Iera Green that actually takes that whole idea
- 40:17and helps using smart technology in developed They've developed a digital smart sprinkler system and
- 40:23with us on the line is the CEO and co founder of Ergen, Shane
- 40:28Dyer. Shane, thanks for coming on tech talk Radio. Such a pleasure
- 40:31Andy for those of us in Arizona, we know that you know, the
- 40:35rising water costs have affected many There's been a water shortage as well that we
- 40:40know about now. While a lot of us may have maybe rocks. In
- 40:45our front yard, we use pebble and stone. A lot of us still
- 40:47would like to have a nice garden, and a lot of us can do
- 40:51that. We have a very luscious garden in our backyard. But of course,
- 40:54being smart when it comes to you know, watering them and reducing the
- 41:00cost of water can be done digitally with Irregreen. Tell us a little bit
- 41:04about the idea for the company. How did you guys start up? Sure,
- 41:07well, my partner, Gary is an injet printer inventor, and he
- 41:10was just walking along one day and saw all the awful things that happened with
- 41:15sprinklers. You know, everyone's familiar with water running down your driveway into the
- 41:21sidewalk and the amount of waste there. But it turns out that what he
- 41:24saw was a lot of the waste was just in the areas to those sprinkler
- 41:28systems with the mechanical heads overlap. So, being an injet printer inventor,
- 41:32he looked at this and said, what if we could print the water.
- 41:37So when you get an irregreen system instead of having those sort of mechanical sprinkler
- 41:40heads that are all the way around the perimeter of your yard, you get
- 41:44one of these smart heads that sits in the middle and it waters up to
- 41:47about thirty feet and it follows all the contours of your yard, putting down
- 41:52a completely even layer of water, which means you're saving about half the water
- 41:58for the same plant growthier with for it's just incredible. You know, if
- 42:00you're you know, in the middle of the summer here, you know,
- 42:02you really want some of these green things around your yard, even if you're
- 42:07in an arid area. But you know you don't necessarily want to get that
- 42:10two hundred and three hundred dollars water bill in the middle of the summer.
- 42:13We've got to do something to fix that. So ir Agreen, you know,
- 42:15not only gives you, you know, this smart home extension outside your
- 42:20home to water your home with this sort of you know bellagio fountain that'll pop
- 42:23up in your backyard and water your your green stuff, right, but it's
- 42:28also really going to help cut into that water bill, and you know,
- 42:30also do this kind of the responsible for the environment, which means, you
- 42:34know, we still want these green things around us, but we just need
- 42:37to water them in a much more smart way. Now we have seen technology
- 42:40become easier when it comes to what's inside our home and smart home technology,
- 42:45how about this as far as implementing this, what is what a kind of
- 42:49the step set our listeners would would take in getting this all digital irrigation system
- 42:53from air Agreen put in. Well, it's pretty amazing because each one of
- 42:57these heads, instead of putting in ten heads around the perimeter, you're replacing
- 43:01it with just one head. So that means there's about eighty percent less you
- 43:05know, digging in your yard or anything else like that to put one of
- 43:07these systems in. In fact, we have a majority of our customers actually
- 43:12put it in DIY in their yard. Now you can always have a landscape
- 43:15contractor coming and put it in for you if that's not the kind of thing
- 43:17you do, but it's But one of the things that's interesting is it's just
- 43:21a much easier system. In a traditional irrigation system, not only do you
- 43:25have you know, like forty heads around a yard that Irogreen can do it
- 43:29without five heads, but you also have all those valves and wires, all
- 43:32those irrigation valves, and those are completely gone when you put it in Irrogreen
- 43:37system on one of these digital systems. But a much easier, you know,
- 43:40a lot less labor to put in and just a lot less you know,
- 43:44kind of muck to manage all over your yard. What I really love
- 43:47about this, too, Shamee, is when you go to the irragreen website,
- 43:52which is irregreen dot com, you can actually put in your address and
- 43:55what's great about it, you can actually see how your system is laid out,
- 44:00maybe get a quote if you want to configure your own system, or
- 44:05maybe a pro to come out and do it. But you'll actually get kind
- 44:07of a Google image visual representation of your home and the surroundings and areas that
- 44:15may need to be taken care of. Yeah, and it even goes further
- 44:16than that, Like if you go to irrigreen dot com, if you put
- 44:20in your home address, it pulls up that satellite picture and then you're basically
- 44:24putting little boundary lines around what you want to have water. And then you
- 44:28can drag in these digital heads to basically see how much you know the lawn
- 44:32you'll cover and how many of the meal need. But then the amazing thing
- 44:37is it actually goes back to like three years of historical daily weather data to
- 44:40figure out how much rainfall they are and how much you know, how much
- 44:44water it takes to keep you know, plants or lawn alive, and will
- 44:47actually give you an estimate of how many gallons of water you'd save by not
- 44:52using a traditional mechanical irrigation system instead using a way more efficial digital irrigation system.
- 44:59You can just you know, make your water bill, figure out how
- 45:00much you pay for water, and get a real good estimate of how much
- 45:02money you'll say, so this is you know, this is the first sprinkler
- 45:06system that will literally pay for itself. Yeah, I'm looking at the demo
- 45:09of Shane and what I find so amazing is, you know, how many
- 45:14times have I gone out in a situation and maybe you've watered a certain area,
- 45:17but unfortunately maybe you've got a driveway there, or maybe you've got the
- 45:22patio which of course doesn't need watering. As this is turning around and spitting
- 45:27around using the smart technology and how you've set it up, it can actually
- 45:30say it gets to that area where you would see it getting covered with water
- 45:36that doesn't need it, it'll actually reduce the consumption and not spray out the
- 45:40water on that part. So it can be all customized to fit the layout
- 45:45of your home, and it can be adjusted if you do add things correct.
- 45:47Yeah, that's correct. This is a really, you know, just
- 45:51amazing part in terms of delight because once you have one of these digital heads,
- 45:54there's an app on your phone where you can basically put out these little
- 45:59dots to make it spray any pattern, so it completely follows that line on
- 46:04your patio or that line on your driveway without getting any water spilling over.
- 46:07It's really accurate. And once it does that, you know, you have
- 46:12a little play button where you can actually watch it trace that entire shape that
- 46:15you created, so it's putting water exactly where you want it and not where
- 46:20you want It's really beautiful to see. And that's the other part you mentioned
- 46:22before, which is flexibility. Like we all like to change our lawns,
- 46:25but if you put in a traditional mechanical sprinkler system, as soon as you
- 46:30put in that shed, you've got to dig up and basically do a plumbing
- 46:34project while you move all the heads around and you put new lines in and
- 46:37you put new heads in. If you have an earrogreen system, all you
- 46:40do is pick up your app and redraw the shape that you'd like it to
- 46:45water and it takes you like two minutes and you didn't have to dig anything
- 46:47up. So it gives you so much more flexibility to be able to garden
- 46:52and do the things that we love to do on our backyards without having to
- 46:54worry about triggering a big, expensive, dirty plumbing project. Yeah. The
- 46:58other part about it too. Yeah, we're we're thinking about adding a gazebo,
- 47:00so obviously that would change the structure, and with this we'd be able
- 47:05to kind of coordinate how it's going to go and where it's going to go.
- 47:07Also, let's face it, Shane, you know here during the summer
- 47:10months, it can get to be you know, one hundred and fifteen hundred
- 47:14and twenty degrees. If you miss getting out at that prime time, or
- 47:17maybe you have to work and do the watering, you're going to stand out
- 47:21there and heat. You don't have to do that when this system is installed.
- 47:24Yeah, that's what makes this really good in terms of like a homener,
- 47:28especially if you're a busy person, A regular irrigation system, even if
- 47:31you have like a smart controller right one that's connected to you know, to
- 47:36like a weather or soil moisture. The problem with those are that they're just
- 47:39connected to regular valves, so they just sort of turn on those valves and
- 47:43turn them off, but they don't really know how much water is going down
- 47:46or how efficient that system is. With Irregreine, we know exactly how much
- 47:52water is printed, so it keeps track of, you know, given the
- 47:55kind of plants that you have, how much water they'll need, how much
- 48:00rainfall there is, and also how hot it's been, how windy it's been,
- 48:04so how much water needs to be replaced in that soil. So it's
- 48:07kind of once you set it up, it's sort of fire and forget it.
- 48:09Basically auto waters and figures out exactly how much water needs to go down
- 48:13and not put it, not put down a drop more. I know there
- 48:15are many listeners right now listening going this is what we've needed, this is
- 48:20what we want to get. And again this beats that traditional even with that
- 48:23automated system. This really beats that because you can really customize it. Now,
- 48:28say you wanted to kind of change the flow or change pardon the pun,
- 48:32but if you wanted to change maybe a time and whatnot, you can
- 48:37do that all via a smartphone or an app that they'd be able to access.
- 48:40Yeah, you have a smartphone app that's really easy to use, and
- 48:45not only that, you can use it from anywhere in the world. So
- 48:46if you're on vacation and you want to check on your system, it will
- 48:50show you how much water is being put down and if you want to make
- 48:52changes to it, like water on different days or sometimes like you know,
- 48:55your neighborhood will say you could only water a few days, you can set
- 48:59that up to make sure that you're always in compliance. Well, it's really
- 49:01really cool to have a way to feel like you have full control but also
- 49:05make it easy enough just for a regular consumer. You know, if you
- 49:07can use your remote control for your TV, you can control all this stuff.
- 49:10What is going to be the best way for them to do it?
- 49:14And can you give us kind of an idea. I mean it's going to
- 49:15vary on each system of what kind of costs they're looking at kind of implementing
- 49:21irrigreen. Sure, absolutely, So the best way to do it is basically
- 49:25just go to www. Doteargreen dot com and there's a place in there where
- 49:29if you want to play around yourself, you can put in your address,
- 49:31but there's also a button there if you want to talk to one of the
- 49:35ear we have irrigation pros. You can go ahead and set up a little
- 49:37fifteen minute call or appointment where they'll basically walk through and for free kind of
- 49:42custom design a system putting water where you need it, and then also just
- 49:45talk you through an answer and of your questions. So that's probably the easiest
- 49:47way to go. Systems range anywhere from a little less than two thousand bucks,
- 49:52you know, for small systems, to you know, three thousand dollars
- 49:55or more for like larger systems in that case as well. But remember that
- 50:00this is also really helping you save on those water bills. So in many
- 50:04places that have expensive water, like the Southwest or Arizona in particular, you
- 50:09know, you see payback periods for these in like three years or four years
- 50:13where you've made your money back excellent, So it saves money on that saves
- 50:17water consumptioncy really you are helping the environment, especially as we continue to see
- 50:22kind of a water shortage throughout our state. And of course you have control,
- 50:27and that's the best thing about it. If you're like me sometimes I'm
- 50:30a little lazy. You're getting out there and watering, and you know,
- 50:32the plants suffer. This is a great way to really have that control,
- 50:36to know that they're going to get that. Aeragreen dot com is the website
- 50:40ir R I, G R, E E N dot com. And thank
- 50:45you so much a chain for coming on tech talk Radio. We appreciate it.
- 50:47Leasure. If there's any way we can help out, please let me
- 50:50know. Any really love what you're doing. Santa Bib will rejoin Slick and
- 50:53Sean and they say they think they have the product of the week, maybe
- 50:58even of the month or beyond that that's coming up with tech talk Radio.
- 51:02Be sure to check out our blog blog dot tech talk radio dot com.
- 51:07And now back to tech talk Radio. This segment we always leave as a
- 51:12website of the week, a product of the week, a link of the
- 51:14week, and app of the week, something that maybe you could take with
- 51:17you, share with your friends and say, hey, the guys at tech
- 51:21talk radio we're talking about you know this and it's something I should look at.
- 51:24But we we're thinking, you know, honestly, you have Diablo four
- 51:29which came out Apple Vision. We talked about that. We're thinking, okay,
- 51:32maybe Apple Vision really is not only a product of the week, even
- 51:37though we haven't got our hands on it. From the demonstration we saw,
- 51:42I think that probably would be kind of our product of the month. It's
- 51:46gonna be talking about product of the year. Yeah, it really could be.
- 51:50Right. This was the most tight lipped thing Apples had recently that hasn't
- 51:53been leaked. Man, it was incredible and there was a lot of hype
- 51:57coming around it because everybody knew they were going to announce it right moote it
- 52:00to executives and their board and stuff a couple like two months ago or something.
- 52:04It's gonna be cool, and I think we're at the iPhone level revolution
- 52:08again in the terms of AR or what they call XR, right, it's
- 52:13VRAR mixed reality environments. I think we're at that step where Apple has made
- 52:19the jump ahead of everybody else again and other people are gonna have to catch
- 52:22up. I'm just wondering, when are we going to find the first bone
- 52:24head that puts it on while they're driving or Oh yeah, I mean it's
- 52:30we're Yeah, we're in the age of reaction videos and people doing dumb stuff
- 52:37on the internet, right, Yeah, one hundred percent, somebody's going to
- 52:38be doing that, right, because how long did it take for somebody to
- 52:40post a video of them in the passengers seat of their Tesla whiles driving down
- 52:44the freeway? Right? Yeah, five minutes after they left the parking lot.
- 52:46So of course you're gonna see it. Could it not be used for
- 52:50better driving? I mean, we know that Camaros and some other vehicles have
- 52:52the heads up display where basically you have your speed, you have you know
- 52:58you're gearing. All of that display, your fuel can be displayed on the
- 53:01windshield while you're driving down the road. Could this maybe make it a safer
- 53:07experience? I think it's safe to say that this is a disclaimer. You
- 53:10should not use this wire driving there you go, or flying or doing anything.
- 53:15No. No, I think well if if you're if you're actually piloting
- 53:19the plane, I think this is going to be incredible for long trips.
- 53:22They didn't say specifically you'd be able to do this, right, but could
- 53:25you pair this with AirPods? Could you have your air pods in to listen
- 53:30to the audio or does it have to use the spatial audio headphones? Because
- 53:35if I'm sitting next to somebody and they have a vision on, you know,
- 53:38if I'm sitting next to somebody with my VR headset on, they can
- 53:42hear the audio coming out of my speakers, right, It's not a over
- 53:44the ear enclosed system right, right? So can I pair this with my
- 53:49AirPods so that I can listen to it silently? That is a good question,
- 53:53right, because it doesn't cover the ears? Yea, yeah, so,
- 53:57but it's you know, it's the whole spatial three D audio thing with
- 54:00the six six speakers designed around the band and all that stuff. Right,
- 54:05So if I want to do a silent listening mode or privacy mode, what
- 54:09does that look like in terms of I put in earbuds. They showed somebody
- 54:14in the demo of them sitting on an airplane putting it on the vision mode
- 54:17and surrounding themselves with the environment. Right, But what does the audio solution
- 54:21look like that? Right? Because if if I'm playing a movie at full
- 54:23blast because I like listening to my movies loud, is that gonna how is
- 54:28that going to interact with the environment? Yeah, some good thoughts. We're
- 54:30gonna have to find out more, maybe next week. Like hav An update,
- 54:34It's like, it's great to have you back here with us again.
- 54:37Let's let's do this again. Okay, I'm coming right over all right,
