- 0:00The strength of the team is each individual member.
- 0:05The strength of each member is the team. That's a quote by Phil Jackson.
- 0:11Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress.
- 0:16Working together is success.
- 0:20Henry Ford. Being part of a team means that you work with each other to make
- 0:26things happen for the best.
- 0:29Have faith, let it begin starts right now. Have faith, let it begin. And it starts right now.
- 0:39Welcome to Have Faith. Let it begin. Here's your host, Angel Santana.
- 0:45Ariel, can you say, have faith? Let it begin. Let it begin? Let it begin. Say, have faith.
- 0:54Let it begin. Let it begin. No. No. No? Okay. Hi, Noah. Noah!
- 1:02Happy birthday, Noah. Hey, there. I'm doing busy. It was what does that mean?
- 1:11This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
- 1:16This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.
- 1:20This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. Let it Sing Let it Sing Let it Sing Yeah!
- 1:32Daddy, I'm so excited! But I have one question. What's your question?
- 1:37Are you going to be a pastor or a minister?
- 1:39Good question. I don't know, but it is all in God's hands.
- 1:43Good morning! You're listening to Have Faith Love Again, and it starts right now.
- 1:49Have Faith Love Again, and it starts right now. Had to say it twice because
- 1:54I love hearing Ariel do that.
- 1:56Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 1:59Today is March 3rd. Yeah, we're six days away from Angel's birthday.
- 2:03Yeah, but the big 47 is coming, but that's neither here nor there.
- 2:06We're talking today about teamwork.
- 2:08You know, I can tell you how often I have been a part of so many teams growing
- 2:13up and having so many different career positions and how often I have run into
- 2:19people that just don't know how to act like a team.
- 2:22You know, there's no secret behind the old expression that there's no I in team.
- 2:29And that's because there are people that are in it for themselves.
- 2:32You know, quite honestly, we take
- 2:35for granted how often we sit here and we work with so many people that.
- 2:45Are in it for themselves, right? I've said that twice now, sorry.
- 2:48But there's so much to learn from each example and each situation that we go through.
- 2:55So I remember being in my early 20s and watching so many people that I've worked
- 3:01with cut through, backstab, and say things to other people.
- 3:05Listen, and I did it too. I am not perfect. And I learned it a lot in my 20s,
- 3:11even in my 30s, you know, to grow up,
- 3:14to not be unprofessional, to not be immature and to remember that you're there
- 3:19to do one thing and that's work and do a job.
- 3:22And I, and I think about, you know, the disciples and I think about Christ teaching
- 3:26them to stay the course, to learn and to preach, you know, and practice what you preach.
- 3:33And even the disciples were in a way trying to get at each other's quote unquote jobs,
- 3:40trying to feel important and not realizing that they were hurting others by
- 3:45asking for favors or asking to do certain things and wanting to be to better themselves.
- 3:50When in reality, you know, you have to think about others just as much as you
- 3:55have to think about yourself.
- 3:57So the reason why I brought all this up is because, you know,
- 4:00I have so many stories that keep coming in and so many things that have happened
- 4:05in my life that continue to affect my daily outlook in life.
- 4:10And it all stems from teamwork. We all work with people that do their jobs efficiently,
- 4:16100%, but there's always that one bad apple that can spoil the bunch.
- 4:20And what I'm learning just by reading the Bible and understanding the importance
- 4:26of all that we have to offer each other is that we have to also learn to forgive.
- 4:32And even though I'm saying all these things about teamwork and all the things
- 4:37about people that are doing things deliberately or cutthroat or trying to do
- 4:41things that, you know, that shouldn't be, be done to make us feel uncomfortable
- 4:46in our work environments.
- 4:47We still have to learn to forgive others for all that they have done to us.
- 4:52We still have to give people an opportunity.
- 4:55But here's the thing. If you're that person that is the I in team,
- 4:58if you're that individual and you don't realize it, it's time to grow up.
- 5:03It's time to think about others, you know?
- 5:07If you're a parent, for example, and you're raising a child,
- 5:12it is your job to nurture that child.
- 5:14It is your job to teach that person from right and wrong. And if you're that
- 5:19person that is right, but you know, is right and feels like they're doing wrong
- 5:26to others, then you need to make it right.
- 5:28There's an expression that I've lived by. If you're right and you're rude, then you're wrong.
- 5:34So if you're a owner of a facility, if you're a manager, if you're a colleague,
- 5:39if you're a lead, if you are a part-time person, go into work with the mentality
- 5:45that you're going to do everything you can to work within your team.
- 5:49And if you have issues with other people, be that grown individual and say,
- 5:53hey, I want to talk to you about something.
- 5:57Let's rectify this. Let's get this to be better. Because if we all took the
- 6:03time to speak with one another, if we all took the time to work with one another,
- 6:07the world would be a much better place.
- 6:10And that's what teamwork to me needs to be all about.
- 6:13So when you go about your way today and you're going into work,
- 6:17or if you're just coming home and you're in that environment,
- 6:21where you feel that the environment is being corroded or has a kryptonite,
- 6:28let us pray for that person so that they can come out better on the other side.
- 6:33May God be with you. May he shine his light upon you and grant each and every
- 6:38single one of you peace on earth.
- 6:41And never forget, be a team player, be true to yourself, trust in God,
- 6:47and never forget to have faith, let it begin. See you tomorrow.
- 6:51Thank you for listening to Have Faith, Let It Begin. We'll be back tomorrow.
