- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello, my friend.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Wow, that was a great reception. I was great. I
- 0:04Speaker 2: was great.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Thank you know what I meant everywhere? I meant everywhere.
- 0:07Speaker 1: But you know, I said to him, he showed me
- 0:09Speaker 1: up with the outfit, like where'd you where'd you get
- 0:11Speaker 1: the jacket?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah? I had to go change. Where's that practice?
- 0:13Speaker 3: And there was no way I was showing up bummy,
- 0:15Speaker 3: So you know, had to put it on a little bit.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm just glad y'all liked it.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Yes, you succeeded. So you mentioned practice. Two time All Star?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Does it ever feel normal being there with all the
- 0:28Speaker 1: superstars in the league.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I think it shouldn't.
- 0:31Speaker 3: It should never feel normal, just because, like you know,
- 0:34Speaker 3: you're in rare error, especially when you go two times
- 0:37Speaker 3: and hopefully God willing you keep going and.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You're a part of it.
- 0:40Speaker 3: But my dad was there, so I got to see him,
- 0:43Speaker 3: and that kind of you know, hit me, like you know,
- 0:46Speaker 3: it's just things hit me in that way, just when
- 0:48Speaker 3: I see his face light up. I mean he's probably
- 0:51Speaker 3: tripping over that. Like he wasn't drafted or anything like that,
- 0:55Speaker 3: but he played eleven years. He was a journeyman, so
- 0:57Speaker 3: it's huge for him. And I'm I'm just glad to
- 0:59Speaker 3: be here.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Have you ever had that conversation with him about
- 1:03Speaker 1: what you have been able to do and how much
- 1:05Speaker 1: he influenced the moment even if he wasn't able to
- 1:07Speaker 1: do it In many ways, he's doing it through you.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 3: He uh. I mean when I got drafted, he came
- 1:12Speaker 3: in my room and told me, like, on this night,
- 1:14Speaker 3: I made more than him.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Ever, sorry, added me, because I thought we were I
- 1:22Speaker 2: thought we were well off.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Which we were. You know, I thought I got whatever
- 1:25Speaker 3: I wanted. You know, I was online buying shoes. I
- 1:28Speaker 3: didn't really think of much. But when he told me that,
- 1:31Speaker 3: I mean not just uh, I don't I don't remember
- 1:33Speaker 3: if I cried or not. He probably cried, but that
- 1:36Speaker 3: was crazy. So, I mean, he definitely just seeing him
- 1:40Speaker 3: and my mom. When my mom has those moments as well,
- 1:43Speaker 3: that's when it hits me. It takes a lot for
- 1:44Speaker 3: me to realize it because I.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Just be going, I don't be thinking yeah, because I
- 1:48Speaker 1: so it's funny you said that. I was about to ask,
- 1:50Speaker 1: are you a person that knows how to like soak
- 1:53Speaker 1: in accomplishments like the fact that no, you're not working
- 1:57Speaker 1: on it.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I had a speech.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I had a little dinner and I had a speech
- 2:00Speaker 3: with my family and my team was all right there,
- 2:04Speaker 3: and I was like thanking them, and I was like
- 2:06Speaker 3: talking and just saying what I really just felt. And
- 2:11Speaker 3: I'm like, y'all know, I don't do this like I don't.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I don't really do this type of thing. So reflection,
- 2:16Speaker 3: we're working on it. We're gonna get to the spa
- 2:18Speaker 3: or something, get to the figure out a way to
- 2:21Speaker 3: reflect in some way.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, And I mean a lot of amazing things for
- 2:24Speaker 1: you to reflect on. This has been such a stellar season,
- 2:28Speaker 1: such a stellar jump that we've seen you take. I
- 2:31Speaker 1: want to dig into that. To start. John Morant called
- 2:34Speaker 1: you the franchise. Do you feel that way?
- 2:37Speaker 3: He'd be calling me that all the time. Of course,
- 2:39Speaker 3: I feel like that. I've been there the longest. I've
- 2:43Speaker 3: seen it all. I'm like the bridge between the old
- 2:45Speaker 3: and the new generation. I'm twenty five, but it's my
- 2:49Speaker 3: seventh year, so uh, it's just been It's been a lot.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I've seen. I've seen a lot of things. And he
- 2:56Speaker 3: changed my life though, you know, he came on the
- 2:58Speaker 3: team and it changed my life for sure. I think
- 3:01Speaker 3: we hit a crazy ramp that we were you know,
- 3:05Speaker 3: people thought we were going to hit at some point,
- 3:06Speaker 3: but we hit so early and you look up and
- 3:08Speaker 3: he's an MVP candidate and he's doing all these amazing things.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I mean, he's speechless. I told him one day we
- 3:15Speaker 2: were out.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I was like, bro, you changed my life, bro, like
- 3:17Speaker 3: for real, and yeah, he's changed a lot of other
- 3:20Speaker 3: people's lives.
- 3:21Speaker 1: How do you receive that? When you said, when you
- 3:23Speaker 1: told John you changed your life.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You smiled, he had his teeth, then.
- 3:28Speaker 1: You need to make sure you saw it.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I was like, for sure.
- 3:33Speaker 1: It's really cool though, because obviously we all know how
- 3:37Speaker 1: electric and dynamic and exciting of a player John Morant is.
- 3:41Speaker 1: But it feels like this season it went from maybe
- 3:44Speaker 1: people feeling like you were like the Robin to you
- 3:47Speaker 1: guys are co star superheroes together. Does it feel that way?
- 3:51Speaker 2: I mean everyone's got to be Batman. I mean everyone.
- 3:54Speaker 2: You can't, you can't have that mentality at any point.
- 3:58Speaker 3: So I mean he gives me that confident to just
- 4:00Speaker 3: go out there and be myself, which is that like
- 4:03Speaker 3: somebody who you know takes control on.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Both sides of the ball. A vocal leader.
- 4:09Speaker 3: That's another thing I had to, like, I don't know,
- 4:11Speaker 3: grow into, but really do more of just being more vocal,
- 4:13Speaker 3: especially for the younger guys. Like now that I'm saying,
- 4:17Speaker 3: you know, I'm young, but they're even younger now, Like
- 4:19Speaker 3: these guys are born in two thousands.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, these guys are born these fast. Yeah, these guys
- 4:25Speaker 2: sound crazy.
- 4:26Speaker 3: They're on TikTok twenty four seven, like it's it's wild.
- 4:29Speaker 3: You got to be a real leader. But yeah, like
- 4:32Speaker 3: now I'm really understanding what it means.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It's great. I have so much help with that, you know,
- 4:37Speaker 2: from from everybody.
- 4:39Speaker 1: But I think you bring up an interesting point because
- 4:41Speaker 1: it's something I actually talk about a lot. Is it
- 4:44Speaker 1: feels like the importance of having a good VET is
- 4:47Speaker 1: becoming somewhat of a lost start because you have to
- 4:50Speaker 1: teach the younger guys good habits, what it means to
- 4:53Speaker 1: be a pro and sometimes when you don't have that VET,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you can really fall behind because you don't understand all
- 4:59Speaker 1: the things that it takes. Do you agree with that?
- 5:02Speaker 1: And also, who was your VET in that moment?
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah? I had I had Mike Conley and Marc all
- 5:07Speaker 2: the best bet and then I had I still had
- 5:10Speaker 2: z Bo.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I mean, all the guys in Memphis, we stick around,
- 5:13Speaker 3: so we have different culture. Like I see z Bo
- 5:16Speaker 3: and Ta like they're my homies around the city.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Still. Yeah, and uh, off the court.
- 5:20Speaker 3: On the court advice, I mean they were great at that,
- 5:22Speaker 3: Like they just always at insight. There have so many stories.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I'd Garrett Temple at Shelvin mag Army Caspy. I mean,
- 5:31Speaker 3: Dylan was really my vet. Dylan was really my vet, so, uh,
- 5:35Speaker 3: that was my guy. I was at his house like
- 5:36Speaker 3: I was sleeping on this couch sometimes like I had
- 5:39Speaker 3: a crib but like.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Still I was like, you know.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But honestly, you see he's obviously referring to Dylan Brooks
- 5:46Speaker 1: and you. When I had a Rockets game, a lot
- 5:49Speaker 1: of the younger players were talking about what Dylan and
- 5:52Speaker 1: Fred have been used into just that culture. So Dylan
- 5:55Speaker 1: seems to be a super super solid that. Yeah, do
- 5:59Speaker 1: you feel that response ability to the young guys.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it kind of just you have to, cause like
- 6:08Speaker 3: you don't want to like rob them of that experience
- 6:10Speaker 3: of just not having anybody because that just sucks, like
- 6:13Speaker 3: that would just it's just a different feeling. And I
- 6:15Speaker 3: know if I didn't have anybody, I well, I don't know,
- 6:18Speaker 3: but I would rather have somebody, So I'm.
- 6:21Speaker 2: There for him.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah. So this season, there's been a lot of really
- 6:24Speaker 1: positive changes to your game. And we chatted before your game.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I would to see it against the Rockets, and you
- 6:31Speaker 1: told me that a major focus this off season was
- 6:34Speaker 1: pace pace, seeing what the defense was going to do
- 6:37Speaker 1: and making them wrong. I would just love for you
- 6:39Speaker 1: to elaborate what you wanted out of how you use
- 6:42Speaker 1: pace and how you got there.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Uh well, I mean if you look at a lot
- 6:47Speaker 3: of the players who like Jokice and Luca, like you know,
- 6:52Speaker 3: they're not very fast, but somehow, like the defense is
- 6:56Speaker 3: always doing what they want.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So it's not always.
- 7:00Speaker 3: About playing at like one speed, it's about change the speed.
- 7:03Speaker 3: It's about human It's really about like human reaction. And
- 7:07Speaker 3: we kind of me and one of my coaches went
- 7:10Speaker 3: over kind of like human behavior one time.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It's like, what do you think he's going to do?
- 7:14Speaker 3: And it's like all right, Well, every workout we had
- 7:17Speaker 3: we just made sure we had an actual person playing
- 7:19Speaker 3: defense on me. So every time I'm learning more about
- 7:22Speaker 3: what you're thinking when I do this. So I can
- 7:24Speaker 3: put myself in your shoes like in the game in
- 7:26Speaker 3: real time, it's like, okay, wow, you really are You
- 7:28Speaker 3: wouldn't want to go here. That's a like you want
- 7:32Speaker 3: to be lazy and not do that. Okay, I'm going
- 7:33Speaker 3: to do this. Or if you do that, okay, then I.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Have to do this. So it's like it's like boxing.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like boxing, so yeah, and anticipating and then
- 7:41Speaker 1: changing based.
- 7:42Speaker 3: On you can't do it with cones, Like everyone wants
- 7:44Speaker 3: to work out with cones and that ain't that ain't it?
- 7:48Speaker 3: I Mean I feel like if you got but like
- 7:50Speaker 3: you know, you have to be blessed enough to like
- 7:52Speaker 3: I'm about to give the good answer there, you have
- 7:54Speaker 3: to be blessed enough to have.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Like the ability to get people in your workout. It's
- 7:57Speaker 2: like a bunch of people.
- 7:58Speaker 3: But you know, if you have cone use those but
- 8:00Speaker 3: I'm saying they're not gonna move that, they're not gonna
- 8:03Speaker 3: hit you either, So like you gotta get I'll be
- 8:05Speaker 3: getting fouled in my workouts.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I make sure I get fouled hard like everything.
- 8:09Speaker 1: What do you think though, people don't understand about that,
- 8:13Speaker 1: that ability to use pace to your advantage. Because to
- 8:16Speaker 1: your point, people will watch somebody like Luca play and say,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I mean, he looks so slow, but he's slow by choice,
- 8:23Speaker 1: and that is really allowing him to really take advantage
- 8:26Speaker 1: of defenders. What do you think people don't understand about
- 8:29Speaker 1: how you use pace?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's definitely by choice, it's all. It's all here.
- 8:33Speaker 3: He knows where everybody is on the court, so he
- 8:35Speaker 3: can take his time. You know, people be doing euro steps,
- 8:39Speaker 3: but now it's slow steps. Like you you got two steps,
- 8:42Speaker 3: you can take them at any time you want. So
- 8:44Speaker 3: if I dribble and I go on my first step,
- 8:45Speaker 3: I can hang on this leg forever long I want,
- 8:48Speaker 3: and then put this leg down three seconds later, and
- 8:51Speaker 3: that just gives me another second, another second, And the
- 8:53Speaker 3: game is like so small now, like we're better by
- 8:56Speaker 3: like this margin. Everything is small seconds middleseconds, So you
- 9:00Speaker 3: need all those seconds like when you're a pro.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But back when you're younger, like when we were younger,
- 9:04Speaker 2: I didn't have to do no this.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I don't have to do pace. There is no pace.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I'm just blocking everything. We're running around and I'm going home,
- 9:10Speaker 3: Like that's really it.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But now you talked about human behavior I'm just curious.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Can you tell us, like one player's tendency that's interesting
- 9:21Speaker 1: to you? Just give me. The crowd wants it, right,
- 9:28Speaker 1: we want to hear a tendency or whatever.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Uh, I'll say like if I know Dylan Dylan, okay,
- 9:37Speaker 3: or give an.
- 9:38Speaker 1: X teammate, but go ahead.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Give an X.
- 9:40Speaker 3: That's my that's my ex So Dylan Dylan, when he
- 9:45Speaker 3: guards me, I know that like, Okay, you like to
- 9:47Speaker 3: use your chest. You don't like to use your arms
- 9:49Speaker 3: because your arms aren't as long. So so when you
- 9:54Speaker 3: when I when I go to whatever hand I want
- 9:56Speaker 3: to go with, I know that you're gonna jump it
- 9:58Speaker 3: really hard. So when I do it, I should always
- 10:00Speaker 3: be ready for that counter immediately with you. Specifically, now,
- 10:03Speaker 3: your teammate aiming, he's he's he has longer arms, so
- 10:08Speaker 3: I know that when he jumps, he's probably going for this.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I have to put I have to put the ball here.
- 10:12Speaker 3: So when I also change direction, I'm also not going
- 10:14Speaker 3: to put in front of him because then he's also
- 10:16Speaker 3: going to use his other arm. But with Dylan, I
- 10:19Speaker 3: can you know he's more about using his chest and
- 10:22Speaker 3: his size and his strength. So okay, it may be
- 10:24Speaker 3: a different battle. I also know Fred. I'm just using
- 10:27Speaker 3: all Rockets players. I know Fred likes to swipe down,
- 10:31Speaker 3: so you can't put the ball down. Yeah, and you
- 10:33Speaker 3: got to know a lot of what these people do
- 10:34Speaker 3: because I mean, this is the little things that will
- 10:37Speaker 3: change everything. Like we've had close games, We've had not
- 10:39Speaker 3: close games, but the close games are decided by players
- 10:42Speaker 3: that are all throughout the game, like not just last play.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Yeah. It's also the little things that like change you
- 10:47Speaker 1: from being a really good player to a great player.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's how you make those leaps when you're thinking about
- 10:51Speaker 1: all of the tiny details all of the time. Speaking
- 10:55Speaker 1: of details, you know, I mentioned, of course Jared Big
- 10:58Speaker 1: into fashion. I want to know, Oh, your top five
- 11:02Speaker 1: NBA closets? Who has the best? Okay you you want.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I'll say, oh, tyres Maxie.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Oh okay, I would not anticipate Tyrese Maxie.
- 11:19Speaker 3: He's coming up okay PG.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Yeah mmm, I like this because you're not giving the
- 11:32Speaker 1: usual cast of characters. You know what I mean. Yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 1: it's dresses very oh.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but yes, everybody knows that he's he's got it.
- 11:42Speaker 1: He doesn't even need me, he doesn't need the love.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, he doesn't need it, uh J Dove, J Dove.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I was just what I mean, he had it on
- 11:51Speaker 3: at practice.
- 11:51Speaker 1: So he always has a nice jersey like it's he has.
- 11:55Speaker 1: He dresses a little retro. Ye, give me one more.
- 12:00Speaker 3: M hm.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Do you like what Dylan wars? I've been in his closet?
- 12:08Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Well not to not to throw another list
- 12:15Speaker 1: at you, but when I was prepping for this, I
- 12:17Speaker 1: was watching a lot of Jared interviews and someone asked
- 12:21Speaker 1: him what he would want to do if he wasn't
- 12:23Speaker 1: playing in the NBA, and his response was be a
- 12:27Speaker 1: host and an interviewer. So number one, don't take my job.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Number two, what NBA players would you want to interview?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Like if you were in my position? Who do you like?
- 12:40Speaker 2: Who?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Are you curious what they have to say?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Oh? My goodness, who's really gonna be unfiltered?
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah? Those are the best ones, right? Probably An and
- 12:53Speaker 1: is a great interview.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I mean he's the he's the he's the best you
- 13:00Speaker 2: gotta get. Probably G. G. Jackson. Yeah, he's great.
- 13:04Speaker 3: He's like precious, like young, like it's so thankful every time,
- 13:08Speaker 3: giving backstory like jokes, all that stuff.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yokice, just because I feel like I break them out
- 13:15Speaker 2: of his show.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's like I like, we want to hear Jokic,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and we do very much. So maybe you're going to
- 13:21Speaker 1: be the interviewer that gets the scoop. I'll pitch it
- 13:24Speaker 1: to the NBA. We'll see what we can do.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I mean, I've interviewed him before one time when he
- 13:29Speaker 3: won MVP, Like I was like a little guest on there.
- 13:31Speaker 3: He's like, oh, yeah, thanks, but damn, bro, it's a
- 13:34Speaker 3: huge But you just do this all the time.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I get it.
- 13:37Speaker 1: I I'm used to it. Another one. So of course
- 13:41Speaker 1: we are in San Francisco Bay area. Yeah, there we go.
- 13:46Speaker 1: So I want to talk about a warrior really quick.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So one of the really good Jaron stories is when
- 13:52Speaker 1: he was deciding whether or not he wanted to return
- 13:54Speaker 1: to Michigan State, he got a call from the one
- 13:57Speaker 1: and only Draymond Green, and I would like you to
- 14:01Speaker 1: tell that story. And what I will say before this
- 14:04Speaker 1: is I've heard you tell the story, but I've never
- 14:06Speaker 1: heard you tell it full because whenever he gets to
- 14:08Speaker 1: the phone conversation, he says, and then he said a
- 14:11Speaker 1: bunch of stuff I can't say. So I called Draymond Green,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and I said, I'm gonna ask Jaron about this story.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Does he have permission to tell me exactly what you said?
- 14:22Speaker 1: And Draymond said, you can tell me, So please tell
- 14:26Speaker 1: me the story of how it went when Draymond called
- 14:30Speaker 1: you and convinced you to go to the league.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yeah, well, obviously you know coaches, Oh's the goat. And
- 14:37Speaker 3: he had just kind of laughed at my face when
- 14:40Speaker 3: I told him I wanted to stay in school, and yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 3: laughed hard too. And then and then he drove me
- 14:47Speaker 3: to class, like one of my last classes.
- 14:49Speaker 2: You know, I was late because I had been meeting
- 14:51Speaker 2: with him, and got me out of that, you know.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And then I went to my house and I still
- 14:57Speaker 3: kind of was on the fence in my head. But
- 14:59Speaker 3: then he I guess he gave Draymond my number and
- 15:02Speaker 3: I didn't. I've never really known this guy. And he
- 15:04Speaker 3: kind of just calls me. He doesn't even introduce himself,
- 15:06Speaker 3: and he's just like, what the fuck are you doing?
- 15:10Speaker 2: And he's just like are you serious? Like I'm like hello,
- 15:13Speaker 2: Like he's like, how high do you want to go? Man?
- 15:16Speaker 3: I started to pick up on the voice. I'm like,
- 15:19Speaker 3: I said, bro, like, I just I like, I like
- 15:22Speaker 3: it here.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Man, you know I've had it.
- 15:23Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, it doesn't matter what you want to do, man,
- 15:27Speaker 3: you want to some of it. I forgot, I'll be honest,
- 15:30Speaker 3: but I was just like, I remember, he's talking so loud.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I had to put on speaker and put it away
- 15:35Speaker 3: from you. It's like, dang, bro, it's kind of on
- 15:39Speaker 3: my ass. I don't even think you have many positives
- 15:42Speaker 3: like about other things to say. I think you just
- 15:44Speaker 3: kind of got off the phone after that. But I
- 15:46Speaker 3: definitely was just like, all right, well, everyone's just gonna
- 15:49Speaker 3: think I'm like, I'm tripping.
- 15:50Speaker 1: So yeah, did so. Did the call from Draymond genuinely
- 15:54Speaker 1: help influence the decision to go to the league? No, No,
- 15:58Speaker 1: you're like I was gonna. I got to figure it.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It was my dad.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Me and my dad had a little talk and he
- 16:02Speaker 3: was like, yeah, you can go ahead and do it, bro, Like,
- 16:05Speaker 3: I know, it makes sense. I don't know if I was.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I don't think I was nervous. I think it was
- 16:09Speaker 3: just like I had moved. I moved around a lot
- 16:11Speaker 3: as a kid anyway for my parents' jobs, and I
- 16:16Speaker 3: kind of was tired.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Of moving like I'd moved.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I'd been in a different high school, junior, senior, and
- 16:21Speaker 3: now college.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I'm like, damn out again.
- 16:22Speaker 3: And I kind of just wanted to stay put for
- 16:25Speaker 3: at least like two years, two or three years.
- 16:27Speaker 2: But yeah, now I've been in the same place for
- 16:31Speaker 2: seven years.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But I mean, it's been such an amazing basketball journey.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Really cool to watch you now here at the All
- 16:38Speaker 1: Star Game for a second time. There's obviously been a
- 16:40Speaker 1: lot of talk about the All Star Game, the competitiveness,
- 16:43Speaker 1: how he can continue to make it excitement when you
- 16:47Speaker 1: step on the floor. Do you feel like Priday is
- 16:49Speaker 1: on the line of that All Star Game that you
- 16:51Speaker 1: have to show up and show out? Here we go.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I told them earlier, I said, I'm just going to
- 16:58Speaker 2: pick up full court.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Okay, we're into that.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna do it just
- 17:03Speaker 3: because you know, let's just set a different tone. Yes,
- 17:07Speaker 3: it's a different format. Obviously, you're not trying to get
- 17:09Speaker 3: blown out in a game to forty in the first game. Uh,
- 17:13Speaker 3: but yeah, I mean the way that's set up in
- 17:15Speaker 3: the past, there's different things that it was set up
- 17:18Speaker 3: around the game that kind of they don't put you
- 17:21Speaker 3: in the best position to always get completely loose and
- 17:23Speaker 3: everything for the game, Like there's a lot of stoppages.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It's a show. It's it's for everybody else.
- 17:28Speaker 3: What you start to learn when you're really in it,
- 17:30Speaker 3: it's like, Okay, then you're thinking, okay, if I go
- 17:32Speaker 3: too hard and I'm not me per se. But let's
- 17:36Speaker 3: say I'm like twelve years in and I gotta stretch
- 17:38Speaker 3: like I'm older, so I gotta like, I really gotta
- 17:42Speaker 3: get I gotta get there, so I'm not about to
- 17:46Speaker 3: be running like I'm not about to be doing all that.
- 17:48Speaker 2: But if i'm I don't know, if you really.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Get that mindset, you get ready to play, which I
- 17:52Speaker 3: think they've organized it better. I think it's good. I
- 17:53Speaker 3: think everybody's on the same page. I think everybody's gonna
- 17:56Speaker 3: like it.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I mean, it was good that one year they played
- 17:59Speaker 2: the like it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Was so good in Chicago when we the first year
- 18:03Speaker 1: of that elam ending that like, you know, the fourth
- 18:06Speaker 1: quarter you played at the score. That was one of
- 18:08Speaker 1: the last times I remember thinking.
- 18:09Speaker 2: People are taking charges.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a great All Star game.
- 18:12Speaker 2: I was like, look, that's that's fire.
- 18:15Speaker 3: I thought it was dope too, but something obviously it
- 18:18Speaker 3: was similar players in the games that they were complaining about,
- 18:20Speaker 3: so there obviously was something else going on. So I
- 18:22Speaker 3: don't think it's just a mentality thing, like I think
- 18:25Speaker 3: everyone's still grateful to be here and loves it. And yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 3: it can't just be a layup line, for.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Sure, it can't. But I love that this year, you
- 18:33Speaker 1: all know that the winner of the Rising Stars Game
- 18:36Speaker 1: is going to compete against all starts and they are
- 18:39Speaker 1: not going to be joking around, like y'all better be ready.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I was at the game. I was staring them all
- 18:47Speaker 3: down when they won. I got two of my teammates
- 18:50Speaker 3: on that team, so I'm at there. One of them
- 18:52Speaker 3: they said they want to dunk on me. That's cool.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You know it's school school, so I'm sure you saw
- 19:01Speaker 1: they know as you should. You are a big consumer
- 19:03Speaker 1: of women's sports. I know that you watched probably the
- 19:06Speaker 1: unrivaled one on ones. It was so fire. Shout out
- 19:10Speaker 1: to Fee for winning that. I want to see that
- 19:14Speaker 1: come to the NBA. It will never happen. It will
- 19:16Speaker 1: never happen.
- 19:17Speaker 2: We're playing ones.
- 19:18Speaker 1: But why see, it's because y'all don't know how to
- 19:23Speaker 1: chance being a little vulnerable, your ego, your pride gets
- 19:27Speaker 1: in the way, Like that really is why we will
- 19:31Speaker 1: likely never see it.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah, we need someone else to blame. If it's just
- 19:36Speaker 2: me out.
- 19:36Speaker 1: There's my fault, yes, like dang on my eye.
- 19:39Speaker 2: On my break, like no, yeah, but.
- 19:41Speaker 1: It would be that to me, would be such an
- 19:44Speaker 1: easy premiere event that everybody would tune into.
- 19:48Speaker 2: It would be crazy.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Who would you challenge? Oh, Kyrie, Oh tell me how
- 19:58Speaker 1: that's gonna go in your head?
- 19:59Speaker 2: Already.
- 20:00Speaker 3: We talked to him about this. We talk about it
- 20:01Speaker 3: all the time. One time he went out to dinner
- 20:03Speaker 3: and talked about it, and another time last time I
- 20:05Speaker 3: was an All Star game, we talked about it. I
- 20:07Speaker 3: just fail, bro, like you're doing all this like I said,
- 20:11Speaker 3: Like I said, I'm just gonna stay still. Like if
- 20:14Speaker 3: I stay still, I'm fine, because like you're not. I
- 20:18Speaker 3: feel like if you go by me like you're I
- 20:20Speaker 3: feel like you're trying to make a show out everything,
- 20:22Speaker 3: like you want me to move my feet and I'm
- 20:24Speaker 3: just gonna stay still no matter what you do, Like
- 20:26Speaker 3: I'm just getting you know what I mean. If you
- 20:27Speaker 3: try to get by me, I'm just gonna try to
- 20:29Speaker 3: get the chase down, or I'm just gonna force you
- 20:30Speaker 3: into the step back you like, and there's other things.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I mean, obviously he's amazing.
- 20:35Speaker 3: It sounds simple, but I would definitely challenge Kyrie because
- 20:39Speaker 3: I think he's just insane with that.
- 20:41Speaker 1: He's insane, so so skilled. What's his response to your
- 20:44Speaker 1: assessment of how that would go?
- 20:46Speaker 3: He's you know him, He has a response to everything
- 20:49Speaker 3: you say like he's he's one of those guys who
- 20:51Speaker 3: has like, oh no, I'm gonna do this, do this,
- 20:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna do this like it's just how point guard.
- 20:55Speaker 2: That's how point guards talk.
- 20:56Speaker 3: If you ever talk to point guards, they just sound
- 21:00Speaker 3: like they know everything they do.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, all right. I have some questions about some
- 21:05Speaker 1: other All Stars. So we were actually in the building
- 21:08Speaker 1: together when KD got his thirty thousandth point. It was
- 21:12Speaker 1: a wild, wild time. Crowd went crazy, as they should.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I know that growing up, Katie was one of your
- 21:19Speaker 1: favorite players. Even though he's one of the best, one
- 21:22Speaker 1: of the most elite, and has talked about it in
- 21:24Speaker 1: that way, I still feel like he is not rated properly,
- 21:28Speaker 1: Like people don't fully understand how amazing of a score
- 21:31Speaker 1: he is and how great of a player he is.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Do you feel that way?
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 21:35Speaker 3: I think that's because he's just not mysterious, Like he's
- 21:37Speaker 3: in the field, like he's in your fase. He'll say
- 21:40Speaker 3: what he feels, and like a lot of that. A
- 21:42Speaker 3: lot of the times, I feel like your like mystique,
- 21:46Speaker 3: will you know, get you to be looked at I
- 21:48Speaker 3: guess in a different tone, but like if you really
- 21:51Speaker 3: look like there's just if you put the numbers out there,
- 21:54Speaker 3: there's just no possible way for him to be looked
- 21:56Speaker 3: at as anything other than like one of the greatest
- 21:59Speaker 3: to ever touch of basketball.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Yeah, And he's one of.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Those people like during the lockout, he's playing, Like I
- 22:05Speaker 3: used to live in d C. So he's playing for
- 22:07Speaker 3: free at the park all the time, every game, even
- 22:11Speaker 3: if it's not I mean all the games are sold out,
- 22:13Speaker 3: but he would play even if there's no crowd.
- 22:15Speaker 2: He's playing just because he loves it that much.
- 22:18Speaker 3: And like, those are the people you can't take for granted,
- 22:20Speaker 3: like for the sport, like if you really care about
- 22:22Speaker 3: the sport, like that's that's everything.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I know.
- 22:24Speaker 3: He's a lot to the people out here. When he
- 22:27Speaker 3: was here, I mean, they were cheating when they were playing,
- 22:29Speaker 3: but he was, he was he was doing it here
- 22:32Speaker 3: like he he's one of the he's one of the
- 22:35Speaker 3: everybody already.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Knows how I feel.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Like, what makes kd not just such an elite score,
- 22:42Speaker 1: but one of the most impossible people to guard?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Well, he puts that like Dirk kind of he puts
- 22:49Speaker 3: the ball up here when he shoots, you can't block it.
- 22:51Speaker 2: You just have to hope for the best.
- 22:53Speaker 3: People have tried eyes, people have tried to block it
- 22:56Speaker 3: when he could probably block it. But I mean, he's
- 23:01Speaker 3: just so technical, Like when he works out, he works
- 23:03Speaker 3: on the little things that like not a lot of
- 23:06Speaker 3: people concentrate on, and that just it takes you to
- 23:10Speaker 3: a whole other level.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Like he's very, very polished, very technical. Everything he does
- 23:13Speaker 2: is with purpose. Yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Well, anytime I'm asking how anyone gets guarded, You're always
- 23:20Speaker 1: the one to go to. Because you were one of
- 23:23Speaker 1: the youngest people to win Defensive Player of the Year.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Dwight beat you by only like seventy eight days. You
- 23:28Speaker 1: could have been Yes, it was almost yours. But when
- 23:34Speaker 1: we think about the DPOY Award, obviously Wemby is an
- 23:38Speaker 1: unreal talent defensively and offensively. But right now, of course
- 23:42Speaker 1: he's one of the favorites to win that award. Do
- 23:44Speaker 1: you feel like that is a narrative that people can
- 23:47Speaker 1: get out of. Do you feel like you have space
- 23:49Speaker 1: to potentially, you know, be up there, because sometimes with
- 23:52Speaker 1: your awards it can feel like it's decided.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you gotta go get Wemby. You gotta
- 23:56Speaker 2: go get him, you gotta hunt.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you gotta figure out a way to just make
- 24:00Speaker 3: an impact defensively, because if you're in that conversation, that
- 24:03Speaker 3: means your team's winning. Your team's one is one of
- 24:05Speaker 3: the highest defenses. That's what happened when I won. Our
- 24:08Speaker 3: team was unreal outside Dylan Garden the best player to
- 24:11Speaker 3: take their mind off me a little bit, and then I.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Just come out of nowhere. I'd Steve.
- 24:17Speaker 3: So Yeah, I mean, I mean, Wenby's doing something I've
- 24:21Speaker 3: never I mean, no one, no one's ever seen. So
- 24:23Speaker 3: it's unbelievable to watch, and it's beautiful. It's beautiful for
- 24:27Speaker 3: the game to see him out there doing it, because
- 24:29Speaker 3: I mean, that means he's healthy, he's able to do it.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Because I was always think that people would say like,
- 24:34Speaker 3: I wonder if his frame would be able to hold
- 24:36Speaker 3: up with that, and he's showing.
- 24:38Speaker 2: It for sure.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, obviously a few all stars from your draft class.
- 24:43Speaker 1: My producer and I were talking about this. I thought
- 24:44Speaker 1: it was fascinating that from your draft class, you're the
- 24:47Speaker 1: only player draftsed in the top four to still play
- 24:51Speaker 1: for the team that drafted you. And then Trey Young
- 24:54Speaker 1: is the only player in the top eleven that is
- 24:57Speaker 1: still playing for the team that drafted him. Some other
- 24:59Speaker 1: notable one. Of course, we're Shay who was dropped eleventh
- 25:02Speaker 1: and Brunson, who was drafted thirty third. Brunson is still
- 25:05Speaker 1: our Brunson is gone as well. What story, though, do
- 25:08Speaker 1: you think that that tells about your draft class?
- 25:12Speaker 3: I mean we have we have an insane draft class.
- 25:18Speaker 3: I mean Luca would have been right there.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, until I'm sure everyone remembers where they were when
- 25:26Speaker 1: Matt Bomb dropped.
- 25:28Speaker 2: I'm most sleep for real, he was up.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Though, So what's going on? I'm like, Sean's were you hacked?
- 25:35Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:36Speaker 3: God, yeah, for real? Literally, I think I think literally
- 25:40Speaker 3: our draft class is unreal.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I got no words for our draft class.
- 25:46Speaker 3: I just think that we're especially with the players that
- 25:48Speaker 3: weren't in the Lotto like what they've been able to do.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I mean, you got an MVP candidate for the past
- 25:52Speaker 3: two years. It wasn't even in the Lotto.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Last year, three players from your draft class finished top
- 25:57Speaker 1: five and MVP voting.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and when you think.
- 25:59Speaker 3: About it, the players that are on different teams, like,
- 26:01Speaker 3: what they've been able to do on different teams was substantial.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It wasn't like you were getting moved because you weren't producing,
- 26:06Speaker 2: so you get you get moved because you were producing.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So it's it's kind of it's crazy. It's crazy how
- 26:12Speaker 3: it works. The business is like that. But no, I'm
- 26:15Speaker 3: blessed to still be there.
- 26:15Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yes, cool, No, for sure, Killton and Memphis. Okay, a
- 26:19Speaker 1: few more for you. I do want to talk about
- 26:21Speaker 1: the Grizzlies a bit before we go. I have obviously
- 26:25Speaker 1: watched a bunch of you alls games, gone to watch
- 26:28Speaker 1: job been able to cover you all out on the
- 26:30Speaker 1: sideline this season, and it is so clear to me
- 26:34Speaker 1: how you all have grown, Like it feels like a
- 26:36Speaker 1: more mature, consistent team. Does it feel that way to you?
- 26:41Speaker 3: We are older, for sure, does have a wedding, you know,
- 26:46Speaker 3: we were at the wedding. That's when we're we're talking
- 26:48Speaker 3: about that at the wedding, Like, bro, you're you're married,
- 26:51Speaker 3: Like you know what I mean, your kids walking right here,
- 26:54Speaker 3: like you know, Cary is trying to try Cary is
- 26:58Speaker 3: trying to play one on one.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Like kar Is Jaw's daughter.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Everyone's like, we just have a different I think way
- 27:05Speaker 3: of thinking about things, probably more appreciation for our time
- 27:09Speaker 3: with each other and everything like that, not taking it
- 27:11Speaker 3: for granted, especially when people are getting moved from the
- 27:14Speaker 3: old team and we were just turned lit and mobbing
- 27:16Speaker 3: at a whatever in the post game.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, those are good times.
- 27:21Speaker 3: We knew how to mob for real. But yeah, I
- 27:24Speaker 3: think we're just I don't know, we got older. I
- 27:26Speaker 3: think that's just some regular human being stuff.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I always say honestly that I think you
- 27:33Speaker 1: have like a very high emotional intelligence, Like you're just
- 27:37Speaker 1: an innate observer. I think of people and you understand them.
- 27:40Speaker 1: But it feels like, yeah, you know, it feels like,
- 27:45Speaker 1: really your growth on the court has also coincided with
- 27:48Speaker 1: just your growth as a human being. What synergy have
- 27:52Speaker 1: you seen between those two.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think time alone helped that a
- 27:57Speaker 3: lot like just you know, being in my house. Just
- 28:02Speaker 3: being able to process things like that kind of just
- 28:07Speaker 3: helps your brain get to it's a different thoughts you
- 28:09Speaker 3: might might not have had had you not just stopped
- 28:12Speaker 3: to think and process and grow.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's really what helped you. Obviously, being
- 28:19Speaker 2: around people and asking questions and if you have therapy,
- 28:24Speaker 2: do that.
- 28:25Speaker 1: We're big therapy advocates on this show. To go once
- 28:27Speaker 1: a week have for a long time.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Sure, I'm going seven days a week, every day, going
- 28:33Speaker 2: every day.
- 28:33Speaker 3: In some way I'm going, But I think literally it's
- 28:37Speaker 3: all about just being able to process things, at least
- 28:40Speaker 3: for me. I think everybody's different, but I'm the only child,
- 28:44Speaker 3: so I think that goes with what I know.
- 28:47Speaker 2: With a high emotional.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Intelligence, Yes, there you go see a high EQ. What
- 28:53Speaker 1: does that have to do or what does music do
- 28:56Speaker 1: for you? There? Like writing, is that therapeutic for you?
- 28:59Speaker 1: The making of the.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Music, The making of it at times depends what I'm making.
- 29:05Speaker 2: I feel.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Trip J, right, you better go download some music from
- 29:09Speaker 1: trip J?
- 29:10Speaker 2: Is it on? It's everywhere everywhere. There's a lot of you'll.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Like something, you'll like some every there's so much of it.
- 29:18Speaker 3: But I think if I'm making a song, it's just
- 29:23Speaker 3: about what I'm feeling at that moment, and it's really
- 29:26Speaker 3: just a release as far as what comes out. You know,
- 29:30Speaker 3: that's probably a little bit more strategic. I'm probably not
- 29:32Speaker 3: just giving, like maybe not that song exactly, but you know,
- 29:38Speaker 3: that's that's a beautiful thing that happened. And now all
- 29:40Speaker 3: my friends are producers and artists. I can just my
- 29:43Speaker 3: studios in my house. I just walk up there. I
- 29:45Speaker 3: can walk up there. Excuse me, Yeah, for sure. I
- 29:48Speaker 3: don't gotta drive. That's right there. I can just go
- 29:51Speaker 3: get it done. It's just a great place to be,
- 29:54Speaker 3: even if you're not making music, just sitting in there
- 29:56Speaker 3: being around just that's it.
- 29:59Speaker 1: What do you thinking Jello's hit in that corner? You
- 30:02Speaker 1: doing it?
- 30:02Speaker 2: It's getting played in the arenas, ain't it. He's got
- 30:07Speaker 2: someone doing it live.
- 30:08Speaker 3: I can't lie. There's like two more if they saw
- 30:10Speaker 3: the snippets, there's two more.
- 30:12Speaker 2: But I mean that's that's fire.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Yeah, but you had a song that was in NBA
- 30:17Speaker 1: two K. What is your overall goal with music? Is
- 30:20Speaker 1: it something that's just an outlet? Do you want to
- 30:23Speaker 1: have you know, one of those very viral moments.
- 30:25Speaker 3: This hits me and my team asked me that all
- 30:27Speaker 3: the time, like what do you want to do? Like
- 30:29Speaker 3: where do you want to I just didn't have a plan.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I just like making it. So I just made a
- 30:33Speaker 3: bunch of songs all the time. I probably have like
- 30:38Speaker 3: probably close to a thousand songs.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Oh my goodness.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I've been doing for like five years. Yeah, So
- 30:43Speaker 2: like it's just you know.
- 30:45Speaker 3: I just didn't really feel like telling anybody because at
- 30:47Speaker 3: the time, like the response was just so weird, like
- 30:49Speaker 3: it's like, oh, you're doing the music. I'm like, bro,
- 30:51Speaker 3: I don't feel like talking about it.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 2: I didn't feel like talking about it. So I'm like,
- 30:55Speaker 2: yeah at this point, yeah, we're in two k just
- 30:59Speaker 2: because it sounds good.
- 31:00Speaker 1: It's like a game song.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It can't sound bad at this point, like it's been
- 31:03Speaker 2: too long. So yeah, I still have no goal.
- 31:07Speaker 3: I will probably perform, Yeah, probably do like rolling Loud
- 31:10Speaker 3: or something, but do like one song get out of.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It, Yeah, I get out of.
- 31:14Speaker 2: The do like one like mosh pit type of song. Yeah,
- 31:17Speaker 2: and just scream and yell and just dip.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I mean, honestly, you all would be surprised with the
- 31:22Speaker 1: amount of NBA players that have music that they just
- 31:25Speaker 1: don't put out. Jaylen Green has a bunch of songs
- 31:29Speaker 1: that have never been put out. Yes, Jalen Green has music. Really, Yes,
- 31:32Speaker 1: he has music. I just interviewed him about it. Kad
- 31:35Speaker 1: has a bunch of songs. Lil Wayne told me him
- 31:38Speaker 1: and Kad have a song that might go on one
- 31:41Speaker 1: of his albums. Yeah, so KD is legit. And then
- 31:44Speaker 1: also Lou Williams has thousands of songs that just don't
- 31:50Speaker 1: get put out. So y'all just have these data basis
- 31:53Speaker 1: of tracks and Miles Bridges and Miles Bridges.
- 31:56Speaker 2: That was my roommate.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Ah, do we have some collapse.
- 32:00Speaker 2: We do have collabs. Oh, put it out the collapse.
- 32:03Speaker 2: They'll get it one day. They'll get it one day.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Best athlete rapper current right now?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Me.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Okay, but you can't you can't say you tell me
- 32:11Speaker 1: and you can't Yeah, you can't say you.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I can't say no.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And you can't say Dame like Dame's great. Yeah, you
- 32:17Speaker 1: can't say. You can't say.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Damn best athlete mm hmmm. Oh gg Jackson, I just
- 32:31Speaker 3: won't allow So he's a He used to play the
- 32:36Speaker 3: drums in the church. He used to sing, not even
- 32:39Speaker 3: used to he sings. He actually knows how to record
- 32:41Speaker 3: himself and play instruments. He's amazing, like natural talent wise.
- 32:47Speaker 3: He came to my house and made some songs at
- 32:50Speaker 3: my house. I was like, Oh my gosh, you're actually
- 32:53Speaker 3: you're actually oh yeah, he's making it in like twenty
- 32:55Speaker 3: seconds or like twenty minutes. But he's amazing. And I literally, look,
- 33:00Speaker 3: I told him he can't. He can't release music yet.
- 33:02Speaker 3: I wanted him to just I.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Just told him to wait, like just at the time
- 33:06Speaker 2: I told him no, he was like eighteen. It's like
- 33:08Speaker 2: just wait, yeah, like you're eighteen, so just trust me
- 33:11Speaker 2: on this.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Just like wait, I'm not even saying you got to
- 33:14Speaker 3: get a little bit better, because you can do everything.
- 33:16Speaker 2: You can sing. He probably has more songs than me
- 33:19Speaker 2: because he can make he can do it himself.
- 33:20Speaker 1: He's a producer as well. I love that. I'm I'm asked,
- 33:23Speaker 1: y'all start a boy band, and I'll do that.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I'll do the boy band.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Okay, we ask every guest this. At the end of
- 33:32Speaker 1: the show, Jaren, please tell me your biggest assist off
- 33:36Speaker 1: the court who's given you your biggest assist.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Who's given it given me one yep, my biggest assist
- 33:50Speaker 4: in life period.
- 33:51Speaker 2: And this is deep.
- 33:52Speaker 1: This is what you're asking the final question after all
- 33:55Speaker 1: the Okay.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Uh, I'll say my parents. I won't pick either, but
- 34:03Speaker 3: I mean, you know my mom.
- 34:04Speaker 1: I love his mom is just the best. I love
- 34:08Speaker 1: that you said.
- 34:09Speaker 3: If you're if you're a woman, my mom will literally
- 34:12Speaker 3: hug hug you just for existing and just I think
- 34:16Speaker 3: everything she's done for women in sports and just everything,
- 34:24Speaker 3: she's just so motivating. Like I used to watch her,
- 34:27Speaker 3: like make videos in our basement of plans she had
- 34:33Speaker 3: for women in sports about a decade ago, and she
- 34:36Speaker 3: would just sit there and she'd have all these binders
- 34:38Speaker 3: of like everything. And when she went to work at
- 34:42Speaker 3: the NC DOUBLEA, she was still crafting thiss just planned
- 34:45Speaker 3: to do stuff, and I think she was always going
- 34:47Speaker 3: to do it. But her being with the players Union
- 34:51Speaker 3: and leading them, I mean, there's not I ask all
- 34:55Speaker 3: the time, is there anything else like you're trying to do?
- 34:57Speaker 3: And like you know, she's she gives me interesting answers,
- 35:00Speaker 3: but yeah, she's she's unreal. She still helps me with
- 35:05Speaker 3: so much stuff in my life. And then my dad
- 35:10Speaker 3: just taking care of us this whole time, from when
- 35:14Speaker 3: I was born to now, flying me anywhere for any
- 35:18Speaker 3: AU tournament, getting me up early to go shoot even
- 35:21Speaker 3: if I didn't want to be, you know, giving me
- 35:24Speaker 3: advice on the game even when I didn't want to,
- 35:26Speaker 3: and every single thing in between, never making me feel
- 35:30Speaker 3: like we weren't well off, and we weren't we were
- 35:33Speaker 3: well off, but just never making me feel like there
- 35:37Speaker 3: was a question, you know, getting us our dream house.
- 35:41Speaker 2: My mom drew a dream house and she and he
- 35:44Speaker 2: got it for I love the house. You kidding me?
- 35:46Speaker 2: We moved from that house. I was pissed. I was
- 35:50Speaker 2: so mad at them, But it's just like all the
- 35:53Speaker 2: all that little stuff. Yeah, they're my heroes for real.
- 35:57Speaker 1: That's beautiful. Giving up for good parents.
- 36:00Speaker 2: That was so sweet.
- 36:01Speaker 1: No, it was so sweet. But honestly, I mean, I
- 36:06Speaker 1: mean this, as you said, I know your mom. I
- 36:08Speaker 1: haven't had the pleasure of meeting your dad, but your
- 36:10Speaker 1: mom is amazing. She is a fighter and advocate. She
- 36:14Speaker 1: is such an intelligent, kind woman, so it is no
- 36:17Speaker 1: surprise that you are as amazing as you are. Thank
- 36:20Speaker 1: you so much, my friend, for doing the show. For
- 36:22Speaker 1: being here and for always giving me your time. It
- 36:25Speaker 1: means the world to me. Please give it up for
- 36:27Speaker 1: Jared Jackson.
