- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Hello and welcome to Tebow in Sports One Fan All Game Podcast 20.
- 0:10SPEAKER_01: Well, last weekend was week seven in college football.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: The Broncos played Thursday night of week six against the Seattle Seahawks.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Both crazy things happened in NCAA and professional football this weekend for week six and week seven.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, both Colorado and Alabama lost.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Alabama lost to Tennessee 26-10.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Now this was unfortunately I was at work and was unable to see much of this game, but very, very disappointing game for Alabama coming off an emotional loss against Georgia, and Georgia wound up losing the in week seven against Auburn.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Now, big loss there, but should have been their second.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: But unfortunately, Alabama just was not playing well again here for the second straight week in a row.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: 10-10 mark in the first quarter.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: Tennessee was able to get a fuel goal.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Later on in that same quarter at 9.04, again, another fuel goal.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: You know, when you go, you know, you you allow a fuel goal, get three and out, and and then then, you know, the defense allows another fuel goal.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that that's okay, but that's not, you know, the way the way you want to start, and then at 507 mark in the first quarter, another fuel goal.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: So now you're already down nine, nine-nothing.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: And to, you know, the the first three drives of of Tennessee in the first quarter are all are all fuel goals.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you can feel good about that as a defense.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: You know, you only got three three, but you're you you have you weren't able to score at all in the first quarter, and obviously you you had a struggle in the sec you know in the first quarter.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Then you were able to go, you know, get a touchdown at the 10-13 mark in the third in the second quarter.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: You know, now you're only down by two.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: And okay, cool.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Now, you know, the momentum is sort of on Alabama's side at this point, and then it's it it should have been, you know, you you should have been able to take advantage of that, but you just weren't able to.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: You allow another fuel goal, you're now down by you know four.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: You get a fuel goal, you're only down by two now.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: So, okay, and you know, that was the the you know, ten seconds left in in the first half.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: So now you're only by down by two going into halftime.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: But and and I've mentioned this before, and this is this goes across, you know, professional football, college football, you know, even into even into high school, you know.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: If you're only down by two in the in the in going you know going into the third quarter, great, you know, but you you need to do something.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: You need to get a quick three and out.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: You need to you need to be able to get the momentum early in the third quarter and and maybe take over this game.
- 3:12SPEAKER_01: But the 505 mark in the third quarter, a touchdown for Tennessee, the first one.
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Now, now you're down by nine.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Now things are starting to get a a little more difficult here, you know, and then you know, no other scoring in the in the first, you know, in the second quarter, the fourth quarter, you know, you allow another touchdown of the 318 mark in in the game, and and unfortunately, you know, you lose 26 to 10.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: And you know, a disappointing game for Alabama.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they are on the road, but you you you should have beaten Tennessee, but you you can see where, or you even just watch and and know that you know that's tough to to come back, and especially after an emotional loss like that against you know one of your big rivals, you know, your your next big rival, you you lose that game.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: And then late that late Saturday night, the the the Buffaloes took on Utah.
- 4:07SPEAKER_01: And they lost 27 to 24.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Now, this game was a lot closer than I thought.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: I figured this is gonna be a blowout.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: The Buffs may get three points, maybe get 10, but you know, they they were just, you know, again, you're you're playing a very a really good Utah team, and you know, you you you know, CU's just struggling as as they have all year, and the last couple years in in the Big 12, you know, you go down 7-0 at the 939 mark mark in the first quarter, you know, no other scoring, so it's kind of back and forth.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: You allow one, you know, Colorado Drives gets get some things, you know, at the 902 mark in the second quarter, you're down by 10 now.
- 4:49SPEAKER_01: You know, and now again, oh boy, you know, here we go again.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: At the you know, with one second left in this, you know, the sec the first half in the second quarter, you know, and now you're down 13-0.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: And and you need you need to do something.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: You need to be able to get the ball.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: You got the ball the first half in the beginning of the second half.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: Now you need to do something.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: You know, they score a touchdown, now they're only down only down by you know six.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: And and you know, you you go and you get another touchdown at the 945 mark in the fourth quar in the second quarter.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: Now you're now you're head by a point.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You know, and then and then you know, later on at the 427 mark, 1713.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Now you're winning.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Now, now you have the lead.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Now you have momentum.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: You know, at the 106 mark left in the in the third quarter, you know, in the score.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Now you're down by you know down by three.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: You know, they get another touchdown in the fourth quarter.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: You know, now you're down by 10.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: You were able to, you know, get get another touchdown, you know, with 121 left, and uh, you know, you're you're there.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: You're you're playing well, but you know, you you had a drive where it gets called back because of a forward pass, you were able to kind of, you know, eventually get another touchdown, you know, get another another touchdown, but you know, you had the lead and you just you you blew it again, and and you know, Colorado played well.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: So I mean, I I'll give it I'll give credit to the fact that you know Colorado kept that game close and that they're you know they're there and they they definitely competed a lot better and a lot you know they they showed more grit.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: So is this a turning point to where Colorado can do this now?
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: And now maybe at least at some point here in the last couple games of the Big 12, they can get a couple more wins.
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: I don't think they're gonna be able to be bowl eligible, but at least get you know three, four, five wins and and kind of get that ceiling and you know make it a little bit better than than you were last year, but you know, it's it's there again.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: And then you had the Thursday night, you had the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, and and you were able to win that game in overtime.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: And but you know, you're you're up you're up 14, you know.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: You go into the game, and and the Broncos played, you know, the there was it was a good game.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: It was a good good defensive game, it was a good offensive game on both sides, but you know, Colin Denver was able to really play you know much better, you know, much better football, you know, in this in this week.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And you know, you're you're you you get God.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: You know, you give you Seattle scores first with a field goal.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: They're up 3-0, you know, and then the Broncos in the second, you know, and that's the only score in the first first quarter is a field goal.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: And that that showed right there, you know, back and forth defense.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: Both defenses were playing well, both offenses were were were struggling and early in the game, and and then in the second quarter, you know, Dobbins gets a touchdown and you know what they're up seven, seven, three.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Then later on in that quarter, you know, RJ Harvey gets a touchdown.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: You know, now they're up fourteen to now they're up fourteen to three.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, the the Seahawks get a touchdown.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: They're 11-14, you know, in in the fourth quarter.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: No scoring, you know, in in the third quarter, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and just unbelievable, you know, defensive struggle and offensive struggle in that game, you know, late in the first, you know, in the fourth quarter, you know, seven nothing, you know, seven seconds left, fourteen-fourteen.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: You know, Seahawks get the ball, they start driving down, and Sam Darner throws an interception to McMillan, and he's able to get the interception, and the Broncos are able to march down the field and kick the winning field goal with 457 left in overtime.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: You know, now the new rules, you know, the first team to possess the ball has to score a touchdown, unless it's the defense scores, then the game is over.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: But if Seattle would have scored a field goal, Denver would have had a chance, depending on how much time is left, to be able to get a touchdown or field goal, you know.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: So they were able to, you know, but the defense was able to intercept the ball at that point, you know, Seattle had possessed the ball, they didn't score.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: The next scorer automatically wins the game because they already possessed the ball, they already had the kickoff, and you know, and the Broncos were able to get into get into the end zone and get kicked a field goal and and you know play you know, play well and and beat and beat the you know, win win the game.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: And I'll play a quick press conference here from Sean Payton after beating Seattle and and what he thinks will happen, and then we'll play a little quick one on Bonex, and then obviously the the two of the upcoming game against the uh Arizona Cardinals that were able to beat the the LA Rams.
- 10:03SPEAKER_06: So without further ado, the press conference of Sean Payton after the Broncos beat Seattle.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: Real quick.
- 11:10SPEAKER_04: Defensively, we were magnificent.
- 11:13SPEAKER_04: I don't know how many times we hit the quarterback, we got three takeaways.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: We felt like that was gonna be a big deal in this game.
- 11:20SPEAKER_04: Being smart with the with the football offensively, we we got going early, and then obviously it was a battle.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: Happy for Lutz.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, he really, you know, hit that last kick, and it's a good team we beat.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: Two years in a row.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: We beat the Super Bowl team, and that's not easy to do.
- 11:36SPEAKER_09: So any questions?
- 11:38SPEAKER_09: You left.
- 11:38SPEAKER_09: Uh how how big was the defensive performance with I believe.
- 11:43SPEAKER_09: You get a takeaway in overtime like that.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: That was a difference.
- 11:47SPEAKER_04: You know.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: Field position, all of that.
- 11:54SPEAKER_04: It was they were fantastic.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: You're right, Joe.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:58SPEAKER_03: Just was there a concern level on your part as the play caller when I think the defense played 82 plays.
- 12:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Low Horn A.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: We you're thinking about the game.
- 12:07SPEAKER_04: You're not thinking about obviously they were on the field, you know, and you're wanting to you're on to the next drive, you know, all of that.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: So we'll get a chance to get on this tape and then get get ready for the next opponent.
- 12:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm proud of how we how we fought.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: It was a good win.
- 12:24SPEAKER_04: There's kind of big picture going in this mini-by now.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Four four and two have found ways to win these last few weeks.
- 12:28SPEAKER_04: Just what can you say about the the great shows?
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: There there's here's what I I said to him, man.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: There's still obviously a lot of things that we can improve on.
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: We have to.
- 12:38SPEAKER_04: When this initial stretch you know was given to us, it's hard, it's hard to, you know, figure out and I'll like you guys know that.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: When you look at last season and then you project what teams are gonna be like, it's hard to do.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: We found a way, you know, to to get full wins.
- 12:59SPEAKER_04: We understand that certainly we have to we have to become more effective, more efficient offensively.
- 13:05SPEAKER_04: And yet even in the kicking game, I I thought, you know, we hit the huge field goal, but they won that battle tonight, they did relative to field position.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: Defense really always lights out.
- 13:14SPEAKER_04: So obviously it's easier to make these corrections when you get a win.
- 13:19SPEAKER_04: And I think you guys know me enough by now that you know you're never it was a good win, but you know, there's there's a lot of work to do.
- 13:28SPEAKER_13: I think after the Abrams drain pick with a minute twenty-five left, you took sixteen seconds off the clock on that next position.
- 13:33SPEAKER_04: I mean, just how Yeah, we had a run.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: We weren't in a four-minute drive.
- 13:36SPEAKER_04: You know, it's a noisy defense.
- 13:37SPEAKER_04: I hear you.
- 13:38SPEAKER_04: You know, it's kind of like you look up and it it with their timeouts where where we were, I think we ran a handoff first, but we weren't in that we weren't in that position yet, and we were gonna be aggressive.
- 13:55SPEAKER_04: I want to go back and see.
- 13:56SPEAKER_04: I think we got some some coverage on the second down, and yeah, that you obviously you're wanting to burn time when they sit with all their timeouts, though it it's a little bit more time than you think, but you're you're totally aware of where you're at there.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Coach over here, you've talked about a tail of two halves.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Usually it's been the second half, not the first half offensively.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: It was different tonight.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: What did Seattle do in the second half at all to one of those defenses that, man, they do a great job of staying on top of things.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: Like when you put all the cut up together or trying to find your shop plays, you really have to come underneath.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: But we had good balance for that first drive, obviously, and then you're gonna you're gonna see a handful of things that we didn't do well even in the run or passing game in in the second half.
- 14:46SPEAKER_04: But it's one of the better defenses, and fortunately we didn't we didn't make any mistakes, and and I know that sounds a little conservative, but we felt that was gonna be the difference.
- 14:55SPEAKER_04: There's a there's a ton of there's a ton of snaps with that defense where when the quarterback sets, there's nowhere to go, and then there's those off-schedule plays.
- 15:05SPEAKER_04: And Purdy, you know, last week was tremendous with some of those plays, but that was our concern, just timing and rhythm protection and and you know, running it.
- 15:18SPEAKER_04: We're gonna see a lot that we want to clean up.
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: As a coach, it was never satisfied.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: What gives you the most reason to smile four and two after six games?
- 15:31SPEAKER_04: The record.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: I mean meaning I say that the record because you know those wins are hard to get.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: And and so I I we just played a real good team and and I feel like we can we can make I mean I feel like we can continue to improve.
- 15:53SPEAKER_04: So but being at form two right at this this little three-day stretch and and then get ready next week.
- 15:59SPEAKER_04: That that'd be the honest and again I'm a little bit of a realist to know that forum two could easily be two and four.
- 16:08SPEAKER_10: You mentioned before the game that you know some of the keys to winning were gonna be to start faster earlier, which you did, win the turnover battle, which you did.
- 16:16SPEAKER_10: What was the message to the team after the game?
- 16:18SPEAKER_10: You know, yeah.
- 16:18SPEAKER_10: It was a back game for us.
- 16:19SPEAKER_10: That's a different g type of game.
- 16:22SPEAKER_04: I've said this before.
- 16:23SPEAKER_04: I I can't think of a of a game where I didn't want to start fast.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: You know, in other words, keys to victory that you know, you're always wanting to start ready, and and we were we were able to do that.
- 16:38SPEAKER_04: But I thought we were we were physical when we needed to be in this game, and and you know, our crowd was unbelievable.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: When you play one of these Thursday games, you know, the home team Thursdays are 88% winners with a halftime league.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: Normal games in the NFL is like 76%.
- 17:01SPEAKER_04: So there is that short week.
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: The Thursday game's different than any other game.
- 17:09SPEAKER_04: I'm talking about Sunday, Sunday night, Monday night, pick a game.
- 17:13SPEAKER_04: And I felt I mean I felt positive we were ahead at halftime knowing how I wasn't counting on going into overtime, but that's how it ended.
- 17:25SPEAKER_05: You know, and and you can tell where he's happy with the win.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: He's happy with the way the defense played.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: But I don't think he's 100% satisfied with the way the offense played, how first quarter they started out fast.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: They the the first quarter is how they come out in the second half and play.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: In the second half, they came out and played like they do in the first half.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: You you can tell these he's not satisfied there, but it's a win, and I I think you'll you'll see where he'll you know, he'll take the win, but you know, he he wasn't satisfied.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: Another crisp conference here, Bonix, and how he thinks they play it against the Seahawks, and then we'll do a quick one on what he thinks is what they both think is gonna happen here in week six when they play the Arizona Cardinals, which is the last game in the AFC Wet or NFC West they gotta play this year.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: They do still have to play the Seattle the Kansas City Chiefs one more time, and then they play the Carolina Panthers, and then they're on their by-week.
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: So a little press conference here, and again, thank you to Broncos.com for all this for how Bonex think they played against Seattle in week six Thursday.
- 18:48SPEAKER_07: I heard long ago, I don't know where it may have been from my parents, but if you stop for if you stop enjoying the wins, you need to just go on and do something else because then it's not gonna be fun for you anymore.
- 19:00SPEAKER_07: So and and in a way I've felt that a little bit.
- 19:03SPEAKER_07: And we're sitting here at three and two, and we're having, you know, a good start to our season.
- 19:08SPEAKER_07: There's things we want to clean up, there's things we want to fix, there's ways, you know, in which that we're leave some leaving some things out there on the field, but we're finding ways to win like we did last year.
- 19:17SPEAKER_07: And, you know, I feel strong that we're gonna continue to do that.
- 19:20SPEAKER_07: So the most important thing is winning.
- 19:23SPEAKER_07: Obviously, it can't be the end-all be-all.
- 19:25SPEAKER_07: You can't put your whole entire joy in it because you know it just won't sustain you.
- 19:30SPEAKER_07: But at the end of the day, we're gonna find ways to get better and find ways to win.
- 19:35SPEAKER_14: I've dealt with a whole lot of coaches over a whole lot of years-year coaches talking about.
- 19:41SPEAKER_14: I've seen a lot of coaches that just like heard you said, hate losing more than you love winning.
- 19:48SPEAKER_14: So how did your has your dad dealt with that aspect of being in the biz?
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: And are you better at that now?
- 19:56SPEAKER_07: Or were you always been good at wins?
- 19:59SPEAKER_07: I haven't handled losing well in in my entire life.
- 20:03SPEAKER_07: I wasn't a great loser growing up.
- 20:05SPEAKER_07: I probably didn't handle it the right way all the time.
- 20:08SPEAKER_07: I was that kid that cried after I lost, and you know, I'd throw my helmet, and one time I I didn't think my dad was at the game.
- 20:16SPEAKER_07: He was out recruiting and he showed up and he saw me throw my helmet one time, and that was the last time I threw my helmet.
- 20:21SPEAKER_07: But he taught me wins and losses, and and obviously as he being my coach went went through a lot.
- 20:29SPEAKER_05: You know, and and again, you you can tell where he you know, this was last week's press conference, which I didn't mean to play, but you know, you you can tell where he you know he he was I think they played better, and he knows they played better against Seattle, but in in reality it it it wasn't quite that of of what you know, I think he figured would be, you know, at that point and where, you know, you you can tell where he he wasn't, you know, where he wasn't there, but he he understands that winning is is very important to him, and where he he thinks that you know he he knows how emotional this game is and and winning is and everything, but to him it is.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: So we'll play a press crane province here w about you know the Broncos game upcoming here and and week week seven and how he thinks you know they're going to play and and you know you're playing a team that's struggling in Arizona, but you know, are you able to come off an emotional win off of off of beating a division?
- 22:12SPEAKER_06: Good morning, Coach.
- 22:15SPEAKER_09: Oh said after the game that he doesn't understand why the offense can't push the ball vertically right now.
- 22:20SPEAKER_09: Why do you think that's the case and how correctable is that?
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, look, you know, we knew going into that game there were some challenging looks based on the the way these guys feature their their too deep too high shell.
- 22:33SPEAKER_04: We'll we'll be able to get the ball down the field.
- 22:35SPEAKER_04: And and I was able to listen with both said specifically and certainly you come away from a game like that.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: And you're you're wanting a little bit more or or obviously chunk plays.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: And and that starts with that starts with me and and us you know giving them those opportunities when they present themselves.
- 22:56SPEAKER_13: Hey Sean, have you have you given any consideration to change at that position?
- 23:00SPEAKER_13: And I guess just w where do you think you know Bo sort of needs to to go to get himself played in a good spot?
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I said this a week ago.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: I uh to answer your question, no.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: I he's gonna he's gonna become the byproduct of all the the finer things that get improved.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: The improved play from our offensive line, the more efficient we are relative to balance, running football.
- 23:23SPEAKER_04: And that's you know, that's that's our job as coaches here.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: We talked after the game about you know we're excited to to get that win and yet at the same time find that improvement we need in all areas.
- 23:37SPEAKER_04: So that starts with all of us.
- 23:41SPEAKER_11: Yeah, Sean, two part question.
- 23:43SPEAKER_11: One, with your training staff, you always have one of the best injury rates every year.
- 23:48SPEAKER_11: I was wondering if you had a like a mental type of aspect to it where you get over the injuries mentally.
- 23:56SPEAKER_11: And then two, do you think uh Bo is going through a little mental hurdle with the ankle?
- 24:01SPEAKER_04: T Yeah I the first question Yeah, we have good training room, you know there's a science behind it, there's a physical, are you healthy or not?
- 24:14SPEAKER_04: And all the other things you know, relative to look the mental toughness, the mental fortitude, the met you know, this is a tough league and yeah, I mean we we we hit every aspect and and I think that's one of the things that attracted us to Bo in the beginning is is we've seen, you know, his ability to climb through adversity all of ours, you know, and you know, it's it's not it's not just oh that feels that.
- 24:42SPEAKER_04: Like right now offensively I feel that, or players feel that and and we'll improve.
- 24:48SPEAKER_06: Jeff Legwald, ESPN.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: And I guess I'm curious uh how you'd sort of deal with like just the eye test says Bo is extremely frustrated, you're extremely fr like there's just this frustration level.
- 25:04SPEAKER_03: How do you work through that sort of in real time?
- 25:08SPEAKER_04: Well, I think it's a little bit of our lake.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: You know, in other words, you know, it's it's it it gets back to those challenging weeks that I talk about in the off season.
- 25:21SPEAKER_04: And you know, fortunately we're we're sitting here at four four and two.
- 25:26SPEAKER_04: We've got a chance to play better this upcoming weekend and we will but yeah, I I I think that part of that is is when you're not getting first downs and you know, I I think the body language is important.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: And I think that look this is this is another week where you know, our our attention to detail, all those things you know, it has to improve.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: We understand that, so we're anxious to get back to work.
- 25:57SPEAKER_06: Ernie Stapleton Associated Press.
- 26:01SPEAKER_12: When Jonathan Cooper came off the exempt list, he mentioned once again about the work the self-work he'd done to improve himself.
- 26:09SPEAKER_12: You mentioned it a couple times in camp, and I'm wondering if you could just tell me in what ways have you seen that self-improvement out at Jonathan after he got in trouble back in June.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean he he's he's one of those guys and he initiated the steps right away himself.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: I won't go into detail all the things that that he thought were important.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: And I think the league was on the same page, the club.
- 26:33SPEAKER_04: Uh a lot of it becomes a league issue at that point, and to his credit, he didn't back away at all from what he felt like was necessary.
- 26:42SPEAKER_06: Miss Thomas in the Gazette?
- 26:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah, hey Sean, uh kind of back to Bo next.
- 26:47SPEAKER_14: What's your take?
- 26:49SPEAKER_14: You know, a lot of people say they don't listen to commentators social media, but it's become a big deal.
- 26:54SPEAKER_14: You know, Ryan Fitzpatrick, all these guys, you know, kind of blasting Bo for his play.
- 26:59SPEAKER_14: I mean, what do you think about kind of the national statements that are all being thrown out?
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I Chris, I try to focus on the next day here.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: You know, we're tr we're trying to focus on getting ready to play Arizona.
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: That's kind of where our attention is.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: You know, and and a great question there at the end.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: You know, how how does how does Sean Payton, how does Bo Nix handle the the obviously the the national attention that he's getting and how bad he's playing?
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: You know, and it's it's something that you know he's struggling.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: It almost to me looks like this is his sophomore slump, you know, and his second year he played fantastic, you know.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: This is kind of his you know, sophomore slump where he seems to be struggling and and kind of regressing back to where, you know, we played in the beginning of his of his first year, and we'll we'll see if he improves.
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: The last quick little thing I'll play is the highlights from the week six big win over Seattle in overtime.
- 28:25SPEAKER_06: Opening drive of the game.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Jones.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: Under pressure, down he goes at the forty-six yard line.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: Third and ten from the forty-five.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: Pressure again.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Down he goes again, back to back sacks.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Hugh Robinson almost at the sack the last time.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Gets what here?
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Very capable of it.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Michael Dixon to hold it.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: Kick is on its way in altitude, and it is no problem.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: So second down and seven.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: Play action, pressure, sets up the screen.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: Harvey, first down, and a lot more.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Takes it almost to midfield.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: And Powers, nice block, the left guard.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Six runs, nine passes on this drive to this point.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: Second down and goal on the ground and into the end zone.
- 29:21SPEAKER_06: JK Dobbins with a touchdown.
- 29:36SPEAKER_06: Through the hole on its way to Dobbins to the 40-yard line.
- 29:46SPEAKER_02: And Harvey takes it into the end zone.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: So the man who was a rookie who had 12 touchdowns the last season.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: Second down of ten.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: Loses the ball.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: The ball is out, and the Denver Broncos at it.
- 30:14SPEAKER_06: Going in, and it is.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: Shaheed getting position and grabbing it.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: And Jim is in the slot on the left side.
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: Darnold looking that way.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Darnold under heat again.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: Darnold getting chased.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: Donald getting taken down.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Jonah Ellis ain't right with him.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: Fourth down.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Hangs in the pocket.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Chase that in the pocket.
- 30:44SPEAKER_02: Goes down back at the 31 yard line.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 30:50SPEAKER_06: Back to the ground.
- 31:00SPEAKER_06: Donald under feet again.
- 31:03SPEAKER_06: Down he goes again.
- 31:05SPEAKER_06: At the 46-yard line.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: This case?
- 31:14SPEAKER_02: He's gonna run with it.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: He's gonna get the first down and a few more.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: So Sam Donald, they're gonna close his drive off.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: Second and ten.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: Get it on the ground.
- 31:25SPEAKER_02: Sees it on the ground.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: Look at this.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: Taking everybody with him with a marker down is Alani takes it to the one.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: Gain at 13.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: First and goal.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Can he get to the end zone to the outside?
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: Yes, he's dead.
- 31:42SPEAKER_02: Alone.
- 31:51SPEAKER_02: Chris Abrams Drain just kind of dove with his head down.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: I just said how they have the most with the Jim Left to the right.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: Goes in motion.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: He'll fell out of the slot here, along with Put.
- 32:04SPEAKER_02: Darnell rolls it away, throws the other way.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: That is it caught.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: On the counter at home.
- 32:14SPEAKER_02: Second to 16.
- 32:17SPEAKER_02: Darnold.

- 33:17SPEAKER_06: Flag is that.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: You got a flag down.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: So everybody running out into the field for the moment, including the mascot.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: And everybody from the sideline, but let's get the call from Brad Rogers.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: Personal foul, leverage.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: Defense number 13.
- 33:40SPEAKER_06: And overtime.
- 33:41SPEAKER_06: The Denver Broncos.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: So, you know, a penalty flag there at the end of the game, which was for leverage for 13 jumping over the lineman, which is now a penalty.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: And it's called leverage where you can't use the linemen to jump over and use them to catapult yourself over the line.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: They will flag you for that.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: We all know that the Broncos got got a call like that in last year and lost to the Colts because of that.
