- 1:07Speaker 1: That's so funny that you say that, because I just
- 1:12Speaker 1: and we were sitting here, go ahead, let somebody into
- 1:15Speaker 1: the group. I saw a request and I clicked on it,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and it was like, what's your favorite Hallmark movie? And
- 1:20Speaker 1: I was like what. Honestly, you and I don't usually
- 1:24Speaker 1: handle the group requests, so I don't look at them
- 1:26Speaker 1: all that often. And I had a brief moment of
- 1:29Speaker 1: I don't even think I knew that. That's question there.
- 1:32Speaker 1: What was the answer, Cherry Lane, Wow, yeah, that's surprising.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And then the other question was how did you find
- 1:41Speaker 1: this group? And I said, girls got Homemark podcast? Oh good,
- 1:44Speaker 1: But it's reasonable that those could have been the questions
- 1:47Speaker 1: like when we set it up, Yeah, we had no questions.
- 1:50Speaker 1: It was just basically like, do you agree with the
- 1:51Speaker 1: group rules? Yeah?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Interest because I figured, look, I want to know one
- 1:57Speaker 2: you're a real You're a real person who who watches
- 2:02Speaker 2: Hallmark or Hallmark adjacent content?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yea, And two I'm curious how you landed on us.

- 3:04Speaker 1: If you are a Netflix streamer, yeah, we're adding a
- 3:12Speaker 1: Netflix review next week. We are what's it called the
- 3:18Speaker 1: People you Meet on Vacation? I see you're rereading the
- 3:20Speaker 1: book over there. I am so that drops on Netflix
- 3:24Speaker 1: later this week and we're going to review it next week.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm glad I'm rereading it because I have no memory
- 3:30Speaker 1: none as I'm reading it. I mean, like there's maybe
- 3:33Speaker 1: slight tickles at the back of my brain, but there
- 3:35Speaker 1: is no part of me that's like, oh yeah I remember. Nope,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it's a very popular book, right, Yeah, I read it
- 3:40Speaker 1: I think four years ago. Are you excited to watch
- 3:42Speaker 1: the movie? Yeah, I'm excited to you. I don't I
- 3:45Speaker 1: couldn't tell you right now, like who's in it or
- 3:48Speaker 1: either anything about it. I couldn't even tell you the synopsis.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I have no idea. I'm guessing it takes place on
- 3:53Speaker 1: vacation somewhere. I think thats a good guest. Other than that,
- 3:56Speaker 1: no idea, but I am looking forward to it. Yeah,
- 3:58Speaker 1: come back for that review if you're here for the
- 4:00Speaker 1: netflix of it all. Yeah, well let's hear as anopsis
- 4:04Speaker 1: of Ripple episode five. After a personal tragedy, Aria receives
- 4:10Speaker 1: a comforting visit from Chris, and exhausted Nate rallies to
- 4:15Speaker 1: celebrate his birthday with familiar faces. Womp, womp. I just
- 4:19Speaker 1: felt like we took a full one to eighty turn,
- 4:22Speaker 1: you know, you and I last episode we're talking about
- 4:24Speaker 1: like I'm worried about all of these people, and I
- 4:26Speaker 1: feel like it's all I'm really worried about Nate and
- 4:30Speaker 1: Finn and everybody. Yeah, yeah, I know. So I was
- 4:34Speaker 1: watching this this episode last night, and while I really
- 4:39Speaker 1: enjoyed this show, this episode, I was just like, what's
- 4:43Speaker 1: happening here? We're just like on a course collision course,
- 4:49Speaker 1: collision course to disasters. Yes, for so many people. Yes,
- 4:55Speaker 1: And I'm like I want to jump ship, not literally
- 4:59Speaker 1: because I I will finish. I like the show that much,
- 5:02Speaker 1: like I'm gonna watch the end of it, but I'm
- 5:05Speaker 1: like this, there's is it's not feel good television. And
- 5:09Speaker 1: we're so used to Hallmark and having like a perfectly
- 5:12Speaker 1: happy ending every single time, and now I'm like, Okay,
- 5:16Speaker 1: maybe this is why Hallmark walked away from this, because
- 5:18Speaker 1: they're like, this isn't going to land with our audience. Maybe.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And that's not to say, like, oh now, guys, former
- 5:24Speaker 1: Hallmark hater here, that's not what I want from like television.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I want compelling television. This is this is compelling television
- 5:32Speaker 1: for sure, But I'm like, I'm like, I just feel
- 5:36Speaker 1: at sorts watching it. Yeah, I hear you, I do
- 5:40Speaker 1: hear you that. I'm gonna tell you that Ian Hurting
- 5:43Speaker 1: is such a good actor that I'm like, I'm so
- 5:44Speaker 1: worried about you and your health. Oh you find him
- 5:47Speaker 1: very believable. Yes, yeah, I know he's good. He's really good.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You know. I forgot that we were going to talk
- 5:52Speaker 1: about like the details of the episode. Yeah. Melanie or
- 5:56Speaker 1: directed episode five. She has thirty two directing credits. She
- 5:59Speaker 1: most recently directs did four out of six episodes of
- 6:02Speaker 1: the recent Mistletoe Murders season. Her other work includes Sullivan's Crossing,
- 6:07Speaker 1: The Hardy Boys, and the Spencer sisters. If you are,
- 6:10Speaker 1: by chance here just stumbled upon our podcast looking for
- 6:15Speaker 1: a Ripple review, right, and you're like, what the hell
- 6:19Speaker 1: is Mistletoe Murders? I think you should go check it out.
- 6:22Speaker 1: To be honest, it's a really good show. Two seasons.
- 6:26Speaker 1: How many episodes? Six? Six each season? Yeah? Watch that show?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Really good. Eva Taylor is the writer on this episode.
- 6:35Speaker 1: She had previously written episodes one, two, in three. Her
- 6:39Speaker 1: other writing experience includes the series Good Trouble. Did you
- 6:42Speaker 1: watch that show? I did watch the first season? I
- 6:44Speaker 1: did it. Yeah, I watched the first season. After that,
- 6:46Speaker 1: I couldn't like stick with it for some reason. I
- 6:49Speaker 1: think I had a hard time relating. Perhaps that was
- 6:51Speaker 1: just going to say, I'm like a completely different time
- 6:53Speaker 1: of life. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We have our returning cast,
- 6:58Speaker 1: with the exception of a Linea. Jordan joins in this episode.
- 7:02Speaker 1: She plays Mo. She is the Internet customer service rep.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Let's take a quick break and come right back with
- 7:08Speaker 1: our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what's your first impression of
- 7:20Speaker 1: episode five of Ripple? My first impression is that everyone
- 7:24Speaker 1: on this show needs therapy. Yeah. Yeah. When Aria suggests
- 7:32Speaker 1: Nate needs therapy, I'm like, yeah, Nate do that. Yeah.
- 7:35Speaker 1: If anybody needs therapy, it's you. Yeah. My first impression
- 7:39Speaker 1: is they did it again. I remain impressed by the
- 7:41Speaker 1: way these characters are interconnected. Is it too much for you?
- 7:46Speaker 1: It's not too much for me. It's the premise of
- 7:48Speaker 1: the show and at the beginning when we have mo
- 7:51Speaker 1: who we don't know who she is walking down the street, like, oh,
- 7:55Speaker 1: how's she gonna die in? What's gonna Who is she?
- 7:58Speaker 1: Who's she talking to? And honestly I didn't guess. I
- 8:01Speaker 1: should have didn't guess, not until the end they're like,
- 8:04Speaker 1: oh oh. At first I was like, oh, maybe she's
- 8:07Speaker 1: Claire's sister, but no, no, Yeah, I Like I said
- 8:12Speaker 1: this previously, I enjoy this interconnected world. But also I'm like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I hate that I'm watching going like, let me try
- 8:22Speaker 1: to figure it out. Yeah, I try to figure it out.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want to do that. I just
- 8:26Speaker 1: want to consume the content. Yeah. Yeah. But so I
- 8:30Speaker 1: started watching Pluripus last night on Apple TV Plus. Have
- 8:33Speaker 1: you seen that show? No? And the whole time I'm like,
- 8:39Speaker 1: what is happening? Where are we going with this? So
- 8:41Speaker 1: it's not just the fact that we're reviewing this, like
- 8:45Speaker 1: there are other shows that make me go, what is
- 8:47Speaker 1: going on here? You know? Mm hmm. Anyway, let's talk
- 8:50Speaker 1: what we liked. Okay, so we talked about Moe a
- 8:53Speaker 1: little bit. I would like to talk a little bit
- 8:55Speaker 1: more about Mo. I liked her arc. I like the
- 8:58Speaker 1: introduction of this new character. I like the way she
- 9:01Speaker 1: was woven into their lives, the reveal that she is
- 9:06Speaker 1: Finn's mom's sister, she's Finn's aunt. But I also liked
- 9:11Speaker 1: the role she played in breaking Aria out of her
- 9:15Speaker 1: bedrodding phase. Yes, and the way she expresses that when
- 9:22Speaker 1: people are having a hard time, it's hard on people
- 9:25Speaker 1: around them as well, right, So that kind of is
- 9:27Speaker 1: the thing that pushes Aria out. She's like, I don't
- 9:29Speaker 1: want to make life harder for these other people. I think, oh,
- 9:34Speaker 1: interesting that I want to take a little bit of
- 9:38Speaker 1: a burden off of them so they don't have to
- 9:40Speaker 1: continue worrying about me. I didn't come away from that though.
- 9:46Speaker 1: There was the scene when Aria gets the invitation the
- 9:52Speaker 1: text message for Nate's party and she breaks down crying.
- 9:57Speaker 1: So maybe there I can see like, because I was like,
- 10:01Speaker 1: why is she so upset? She can't show up for people.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Maybe she felt she couldn't show up for people. I
- 10:09Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know. Yeah, I don't fully understand
- 10:13Speaker 1: what's going on in Aria's head at all times. You know,
- 10:18Speaker 1: the problem is that we know everything about Aria's relationship
- 10:22Speaker 1: that she doesn't know. Y've seen so many of these
- 10:25Speaker 1: things happen, and so when I see her, like with John,
- 10:29Speaker 1: I think, how could you not know? How could you
- 10:32Speaker 1: not sense something? When she meets Deisi in the bar, right,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and she's just pleasant to her and she knows. She says, own,
- 10:41Speaker 1: you must work together, and he knows me so well,
- 10:44Speaker 1: and we, as the keepers of this information, are like, no,
- 10:49Speaker 1: see through him. And they have a really nice moment
- 10:52Speaker 1: in the kitchen. The next morning, she's like, I made
- 10:54Speaker 1: you coffee and I'm writing songs because I'm in a
- 10:56Speaker 1: good place. Yeah. Again the collision course with Desa. You know,
- 11:01Speaker 1: it's funny how you how you mentioned we know what's
- 11:04Speaker 1: going on with her, right, But then they're the other
- 11:08Speaker 1: characters we don't know, right. I know, that's like a
- 11:12Speaker 1: movie making tactic where like the audience is aware something
- 11:16Speaker 1: like we're anticipating, like something that's coming up but it's
- 11:19Speaker 1: interesting where we have like so many characters here in
- 11:22Speaker 1: this show, and we know the details about her that way,
- 11:27Speaker 1: but we don't know them about the others. There's so
- 11:29Speaker 1: much unknown about these other people. Yeah, and still Aria's story,
- 11:33Speaker 1: her backstory is still such a mystery too. We have
- 11:38Speaker 1: not circled back at all to her father, her father,
- 11:43Speaker 1: the guy with the mysterious tattoo on the arm, and
- 11:46Speaker 1: all that being connected, we do see the backstory of
- 11:50Speaker 1: her mom really pushing her to be a pianist instead
- 11:54Speaker 1: of something else. Yeah, the mom, I was like, God,
- 12:00Speaker 1: I hope I have never been a parent like that, right,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and I probably have had my own dream, yes, and
- 12:10Speaker 1: to the point that extreme though, God, to the point
- 12:13Speaker 1: she slams the thing down on her fingers, And then
- 12:18Speaker 1: the mom's reaction was, let me reschedule the Oh my god,
- 12:23Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, that was borderline abusive to me.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Feels dramatic to say, but just watching that scene and
- 12:33Speaker 1: seeing the way the mom is so focused on the
- 12:35Speaker 1: prestige of being a classical pianist and getting into Juilliard
- 12:38Speaker 1: and not her daughter's true passion. Yeah, fine, she has
- 12:43Speaker 1: a talent for it, but it's clear that's not what
- 12:46Speaker 1: she wants to do. So interesting. I'm okay. So we're
- 12:51Speaker 1: on episode five. There's is there eight or ten episodes?
- 12:54Speaker 1: There's eight? I mean, how much are we gonna work
- 12:57Speaker 1: out here in the next three episodes? I can't imagine
- 13:01Speaker 1: we come to a resolution with Aria and her mom.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I hope we get a little more information about her dad.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Her mom's not gonna change, right, It's gonna come down
- 13:10Speaker 1: to Aria having to accept that that's who her mom
- 13:13Speaker 1: is and making a decision about what that means for
- 13:15Speaker 1: their relationship. And I feel like Aria's life is just
- 13:19Speaker 1: going to completely implode. Yep. The truth about John and
- 13:23Speaker 1: Desi is going to come to the surface. And they
- 13:27Speaker 1: reminded us of that by having Desi show up at
- 13:30Speaker 1: the bar. How small their world is. She's right there
- 13:34Speaker 1: and Chris making their putting NICs together. Yeah, exactly. That
- 13:39Speaker 1: is another point that says this isn't over yikes, and
- 13:44Speaker 1: that I'm telling you this is where I get to like,
- 13:46Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't I don't want to watch this happen,
- 13:50Speaker 1: Like I don't want to see these characters like experience
- 13:54Speaker 1: all this tragedy. Well, and the other thing is Carrie,
- 13:59Speaker 1: Chris is protesging. Sure gives Aria her business card and
- 14:03Speaker 1: that sets up you know, Ari's kind of committed herself
- 14:06Speaker 1: to Chris. But you can see that having this big
- 14:09Speaker 1: record label behind you and having them be interested in
- 14:12Speaker 1: you would be appealing. Sure artists as opposed to having
- 14:16Speaker 1: this indie record label being their first artist. So is
- 14:20Speaker 1: she going to betray Chris in that way? I don't know. Again,
- 14:23Speaker 1: It's just the disasters exist in multiple directions. Here. Are
- 14:27Speaker 1: you surprised to see like how close these people are
- 14:31Speaker 1: to each other in this like short timeframe. It does
- 14:35Speaker 1: it feel realistic to you? I'm not letting myself care
- 14:38Speaker 1: about if it feels realistic, because it feels nice. Like
- 14:41Speaker 1: I love that they have this place to go. I
- 14:44Speaker 1: love that they're existing in this bar. Like you and
- 14:46Speaker 1: I have talked about this before, but like my husband
- 14:48Speaker 1: and I don't have a lot of like couple friends,
- 14:51Speaker 1: a lot of like we don't. I wish we had
- 14:53Speaker 1: a place, you know. It's it's why friends is so appealing.
- 14:57Speaker 1: They have yeah, Central perk cheers, which I don't really like,
- 15:01Speaker 1: but it's the same concept, the idea of having this
- 15:04Speaker 1: place and having these friends that feel like family. It's
- 15:08Speaker 1: so desirable to me to have a group like that,
- 15:10Speaker 1: Like I can show up at my local bar and
- 15:12Speaker 1: I know that some iteration of my friend group is
- 15:15Speaker 1: gonna be there. Yeah, It's it's nice, right, especially given
- 15:20Speaker 1: what they're all going through. Yeah, I know there was
- 15:23Speaker 1: there was a scene I think it was between Nate
- 15:26Speaker 1: and Aria and he's like, oh, you should be celebrating
- 15:29Speaker 1: with friends and she's like, I am. I don't remember
- 15:33Speaker 1: what they were celebrating though, that she had written her
- 15:35Speaker 1: for song. I think that's what the details were. Let's
- 15:37Speaker 1: tack Nate for a second. Yeah, Now, as a parent,
- 15:41Speaker 1: this was a rough watch for me, especially being a
- 15:45Speaker 1: parent who has dealt with my own illness at one
- 15:48Speaker 1: point and like not being able to fully engage with
- 15:52Speaker 1: your child. That was really hard and difficult to watch.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And I and I felt like, prior to this episode,
- 16:01Speaker 1: we had Nate with this diagnosis and like, Okay, we're
- 16:04Speaker 1: gonna do this in this and have surgery and it's
- 16:06Speaker 1: gonna be great. Well, those are not the outcomes that
- 16:09Speaker 1: we had expected, and now like you have to do
- 16:10Speaker 1: this instead, and maybe he is like really struggling with
- 16:14Speaker 1: his mortality here and like what he how he can
- 16:18Speaker 1: be present in his life. That's a hard watch. It's
- 16:22Speaker 1: a hard watch, and I think I think it's very
- 16:24Speaker 1: different to be Okay, here's our plan and then living
- 16:28Speaker 1: the plan the reality of recovering from surgery and the
- 16:31Speaker 1: toll that chemo has taken on his body. And so
- 16:35Speaker 1: it's not just step one, step two, step three. I'm better,
- 16:39Speaker 1: it's step one, step two, step three. All of that
- 16:42Speaker 1: middle place is bad too, Yeah, and has all of
- 16:45Speaker 1: these lingering effects. I'm still uncomfortable with the Claire stuff. Yeah,
- 16:54Speaker 1: I do feel like she's super supportive of him, but
- 16:57Speaker 1: like he just he's very clearly not in that relationship
- 17:03Speaker 1: I know. But what I struggle with is that he's
- 17:07Speaker 1: getting that from Chris. Yes, right, and it's very flirty,
- 17:12Speaker 1: like obviously, like I feel like they have tons of
- 17:15Speaker 1: natural chemistry, but they haven't really like taken it there
- 17:19Speaker 1: into like a romantic not really level hold hands. It's intimate. Yes, Yes.
- 17:25Speaker 1: What I'm just wondering is like, are they trauma bonding here?
- 17:29Speaker 1: You know, like say Nate recovers. Do they have something?
- 17:35Speaker 1: I mean, they bonded before he was sick, they had
- 17:38Speaker 1: an attraction before he knew he was sick, right, Okay,
- 17:41Speaker 1: that's fair, or before she knew he was sick at least, Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 1: that's fair. I kind of feel like these things are
- 17:47Speaker 1: just happening concurrently to their relationship, and their relationship isn't
- 17:52Speaker 1: a result of this trauma. If you're Chris, do you
- 17:56Speaker 1: want to get involved with somebody who has this illness?
- 18:01Speaker 1: I mean, all things being equal, if you could say, like,
- 18:03Speaker 1: do you want to be with someone who's battling a
- 18:05Speaker 1: scary diagnosis, who's mid divorce, is that the choice you choose?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Probably not. But she met him and she has feelings
- 18:13Speaker 1: for him, and so she cares about the person as
- 18:16Speaker 1: opposed to what he is. A circumstance. Yeah, the circumstance. Yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 1: that's how I leave this show. Yeah, some of the
- 18:27Speaker 1: ensemble stuff added some nice texture. In this episode. We
- 18:30Speaker 1: have Ellis and Ellis's girlfriend and I can't remember, Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: so you know her and Walter's It's it's like setting
- 18:40Speaker 1: the foundation there, you know, Walter eventually meeting Marcia gay Harden. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I don't even know who her, what her character name is,
- 18:51Speaker 1: but I don't even think they've established that. And then
- 18:54Speaker 1: we have Tara and Sylvie and they're like navigating the
- 18:58Speaker 1: jumping in together so quickly. I did think the joke
- 19:03Speaker 1: about lesbian's moving grade too quickly was very funny. Yeah.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I love Terror's response. I love that you even knew
- 19:11Speaker 1: to make that joke. And I'll you and I were like,
- 19:13Speaker 1: what's going on there? And she breaks it down. She's like,
- 19:16Speaker 1: I like her, but I'm not ready for her to
- 19:17Speaker 1: be in my space all the time. So fair, And
- 19:21Speaker 1: then Sylvie's like, guess it's gonna be a little while longer.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I want Tera to be like, I'm sorry, but find
- 19:28Speaker 1: alternate accommodation. Yeah. Yeah, because they rushed to this phase
- 19:32Speaker 1: of a relationship that they weren't in yet. But I
- 19:36Speaker 1: feel for Tara too, because it is hard to have
- 19:38Speaker 1: that conversation without it coming off as a negative. Right,
- 19:42Speaker 1: let's talk wishes, all right. I'm struggling with Finn's storyline. Yeah,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's hard to watch a child deal with illness like this.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And you know, at some point we see her the
- 19:55Speaker 1: mom saying like she's done, she doesn't want to do
- 19:57Speaker 1: this anymore. Again, We're on a collision course and I
- 20:01Speaker 1: don't want to be here. She's clearly sicker than she
- 20:04Speaker 1: was in previous episodes. You know, she looks different, her
- 20:08Speaker 1: attitude is different. And I, on the one hand, I
- 20:10Speaker 1: appreciate that because in the previous episode she was Yes,
- 20:13Speaker 1: she was dealing with cancer treatment, but she was fun
- 20:16Speaker 1: and she was funny, and she was engaging and she
- 20:18Speaker 1: was easy to be around. And now we see her
- 20:22Speaker 1: being kid who is sick and the results of that.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And there's a lot that I need clarity on in
- 20:28Speaker 1: this And one of those things is I thought it
- 20:30Speaker 1: was really interesting. I loved when Chris shows up and
- 20:32Speaker 1: she and Finn's mom have that Exchangement's like, yeah, don't
- 20:35Speaker 1: quit your day jobs. Yeah, real funny, and then she
- 20:38Speaker 1: and Finn have a real cute exchange. I really like
- 20:40Speaker 1: their dynamic together. What the heck is going on? Is
- 20:43Speaker 1: it one? I think it's just one. There's like a
- 20:45Speaker 1: gnat in this house is circling in between our microphones.
- 20:49Speaker 1: That's driving me banigana us. I like Finn and Chris's dynamic,
- 20:53Speaker 1: and I thought it was really funny. She's like, oh,
- 20:56Speaker 1: therapeutic music day. Yeah. I only like that. But at
- 21:01Speaker 1: the other hand, as far as I know, Chris only
- 21:03Speaker 1: met Finn once and Finn's mom wasn't there. So when
- 21:06Speaker 1: Chris shows up with this box of goodies for Finn,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I was like, when when did all of this happen?
- 21:12Speaker 1: When did this relationship happen? Yeah, and to expand on that,
- 21:16Speaker 1: the timeline of this show is unclear to me because
- 21:20Speaker 1: Tara talked about Sylvie having been there for weeks now,
- 21:24Speaker 1: but it seems like Nate and Chris just reconnect. So
- 21:28Speaker 1: it's been weeks since she left and came back and
- 21:32Speaker 1: they haven't had a com and and Aria is still
- 21:36Speaker 1: in bed weeks later. It's like that timeline seems like
- 21:39Speaker 1: it's only been a few days. Nate and Chris seems
- 21:40Speaker 1: like it's only been a few days. But somehow Sylvie
- 21:42Speaker 1: has been in Tara's apartment for weeks and the whole
- 21:46Speaker 1: Walter of it all, While I don't have a timeline
- 21:48Speaker 1: of that, it has got to have been months for
- 21:52Speaker 1: them to be hinting at a future love interest. Yeah, him, Yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 1: So the whole timeline's very wonky to me. Yeah, I agree.
- 22:00Speaker 1: A couple of small things like Nate's refusal for therapy,
- 22:04Speaker 1: like that needs more digging, Like obviously Nate, you know
- 22:08Speaker 1: they talk about nabing like you know, healthy, like how
- 22:11Speaker 1: he's like on this healthy, how doesn't eat sugar and
- 22:13Speaker 1: all this other stuff like what's the backstory with like
- 22:16Speaker 1: his parents and like where he's at and like there
- 22:20Speaker 1: just seems like a lot to unpack there, Like we
- 22:23Speaker 1: don't really know a ton about Nate. Yeah, that's true.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I don't know what the story is there. And then
- 22:29Speaker 1: I'm ready for this Aria, John and Desi's situation to
- 22:34Speaker 1: come to a head. I think it will. You know
- 22:37Speaker 1: she sees when Desi sees Aria wearing the bracelet, I
- 22:40Speaker 1: was like, yikes, yikes, all of it is yikes. I
- 22:45Speaker 1: need to expose John. Yeah, but it's just going to
- 22:48Speaker 1: throw Aria back into Yeah, the one who gets hurt
- 22:53Speaker 1: here is Aria exactly as much as I want John
- 22:56Speaker 1: to get what he deserves. The person who's gonna suffer
- 22:59Speaker 1: the most is Yep. Yep. We see just a hint
- 23:03Speaker 1: of it. But Rebecca the physical therapist grabs a flyer, yes,
- 23:08Speaker 1: which is about you know, the thread the through line
- 23:11Speaker 1: on the seat on this episode. Indeed, it's multiple flyers
- 23:14Speaker 1: and it talks about body workers and wide open spaces.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Is she planning to leave? Is this going to devastate Ellis,
- 23:23Speaker 1: I don't know, seems so happy with her, and they
- 23:26Speaker 1: have their little you know, she works with Walter. They're like, oh,
- 23:29Speaker 1: their own little family. Yeah. I mean Ellis comes like
- 23:31Speaker 1: busting in during their physical therapy session to talk about
- 23:34Speaker 1: planning needs birthday. Yeah. That see, that's what again, Like
- 23:38Speaker 1: the timeline is so wonky, like some of these people
- 23:42Speaker 1: are so close to each other, I don't need an understanding. Yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 1: but yes, I wonder how this is going to affect
- 23:50Speaker 1: Ellis because Ellis is an artist, right, yeah she is, hmmm,
- 23:56Speaker 1: but like she's so needed by Nate right now. So
- 23:59Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. I'm curious to see
- 24:02Speaker 1: if that leads somewhere. I'm sure, I'm sure it does.
- 24:04Speaker 1: That's all I got for wishes. Well, let's talk to you. You
- 24:06Speaker 1: say that I only have one. Okay, in Nate and
- 24:10Speaker 1: Clara's house, like they're in the living room and they
- 24:14Speaker 1: have what appears to be like a bathroom light fixture
- 24:17Speaker 1: on the wall, just like it's like a super random
- 24:21Speaker 1: looking bathroom light fixture, one that would hang over like
- 24:24Speaker 1: a sink. Yes, just on the wall, yep. And it
- 24:27Speaker 1: has like a picture underneath it and then that's it.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It's it's just a bizarre interest conclusion. That's all we
- 24:36Speaker 1: talked about Chris and Nate's connection. I don't have true
- 24:39Speaker 1: jujitsy that moment, but this really stood out to me.
- 24:42Speaker 1: When they go outside at the bar and they're talking
- 24:47Speaker 1: about like where she's been. He didn't he thought he
- 24:51Speaker 1: thought she had disappeared because this is all too much
- 24:53Speaker 1: for her, and she's like, my dad died, yeah, and
- 24:56Speaker 1: he realized what's going on with her that moment is
- 24:59Speaker 1: so she kind of tries to brush it off and
- 25:01Speaker 1: he's like, could you just let me be here for you,
- 25:04Speaker 1: which is a great line. Yeah, he just holds her hands. Yeah.
- 25:08Speaker 1: And for me, I'm having thoughts of Claire in this
- 25:12Speaker 1: moment and in the nebulous state of all of his relationships.
- 25:17Speaker 1: But I just really love him and Chris for each other.
- 25:20Speaker 1: When they walk back into the bar, still holding hands,
- 25:22Speaker 1: it's just a it solidifies to me. I want these
- 25:26Speaker 1: two to still be heading in this same direction, like
- 25:30Speaker 1: this is a relationship. I am going to be devastated
- 25:34Speaker 1: if this isn't continuing at the end of this series,
- 25:37Speaker 1: Like if all of this devastation also blows back on
- 25:41Speaker 1: the two of them. Oh god, it's going to hurt me.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Is there any word about a nothing second season? Nothing yet? Nothing?
- 25:49Speaker 1: Nothing yet?
- 25:50Speaker 2: Uh?
- 25:51Speaker 1: Did you for a split second when Aria calls the
- 25:53Speaker 1: Internet company think there was going to be some weird
- 25:55Speaker 1: reveal about John, like financially something. They're like, oh, the
- 25:59Speaker 1: bill has a paid in six months. Oh no, I
- 26:01Speaker 1: didn't even that. I hadn't even crossed my mind. Okay,
- 26:03Speaker 1: that's a wrap on this episode, recap and review of Ripple.
- 26:08Speaker 1: We'll be back next week with episode six. There are
