- 0:09Speaker 1: let's get into prayer before we get into the verses,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Lord Father that arts in heaven. I come to you
- 0:13Speaker 1: in prayer to be able to have the Holy Spirit
- 0:15Speaker 1: be able to speak through these mics and go through
- 0:17Speaker 1: the listener's ears and reach their hearts and minds, and
- 0:19Speaker 1: be able to apply these verses to their lives. And
- 0:21Speaker 1: the Lord Jesus Christ name I pray a men. So
- 0:25Speaker 1: we're going to be in Proverbs chapter twenty nine. I'm
- 0:28Speaker 1: also going to do another podcast about another topic, so
- 0:35Speaker 1: this one is going to be still fifteen minutes long.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So I would encourage you to grab your bibles or
- 0:42Speaker 1: get on your Bible app and read along as you
- 0:44Speaker 1: hear along. And like I stated, Proverbs chapter twenty nine, tonight,
- 0:50Speaker 1: we're getting close. There's only two more chapters and we
- 0:53Speaker 1: will be going on to the next series, so stay tuned.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Proverbs chapter twenty nine, Verse one states you may warn
- 1:01Speaker 1: a proud person many times, but he will not listen
- 1:05Speaker 1: to you. Trouble will suddenly happen to him, and he
- 1:10Speaker 1: will not escape and then we can also put him
- 1:13Speaker 1: slash her. This isn't just aim towards the men. I
- 1:19Speaker 1: want to make that clear. That's just how the easy
- 1:22Speaker 1: version reading is printed. And there's so many times that
- 1:31Speaker 1: we warn people, and we are warned, and there comes
- 1:37Speaker 1: a period of time where there's so much that ties
- 1:43Speaker 1: into being so prideful that we don't necessarily listen to
- 1:51Speaker 1: the person, We don't fulfill their needs. Now right, we're
- 1:55Speaker 1: talking about also trouble will suddenly happen to him and
- 2:00Speaker 1: he will not escape. There comes a time where you
- 2:03Speaker 1: know God's gonna show you a way out your Gut's
- 2:06Speaker 1: gonna give you that pool. But it's up to you
- 2:10Speaker 1: what you do. And sometimes our minds kind of trick
- 2:14Speaker 1: us thinking that what the person says they actually mean
- 2:20Speaker 1: and they're going to not only say, but be an action,
- 2:25Speaker 1: because love is an action. It's not just a word,
- 2:28Speaker 1: it's it's a verb. And Verse two states when righteous
- 2:32Speaker 1: people are doing well, everyone is happy, but when wicked
- 2:36Speaker 1: people rule, everyone is sad. And I can I can
- 2:41Speaker 1: recall this in many situations where I'm in a room
- 2:46Speaker 1: and the evil this person has the authority and they
- 2:53Speaker 1: will humiliate you, They will belittle you and these wicked
- 2:58Speaker 1: people that that get away with murder almost And we're
- 3:02Speaker 1: not just talking about the physical tents. We're talking about
- 3:05Speaker 1: the emotional, the spiritual. They'll have their day. Verse three,
- 3:11Speaker 1: A man who loves wisdom makes his father happy. That's
- 3:16Speaker 1: the first sentence. But we have another sentence in verse three,
- 3:20Speaker 1: and I want to repeat the first sentence again, A
- 3:24Speaker 1: man who loves wisdom makes his father happy. We make
- 3:28Speaker 1: God happy when we learn from our mistakes and trials
- 3:33Speaker 1: and tribulations and errors, because that's where true wisdom comes from.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We can also learn wisdom in good times too as well.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But let's get deeper. But anyone who is a friend
- 3:44Speaker 1: of prostitutes is wasting his father's money what has been
- 3:48Speaker 1: given to you. And we're not just talking about prostitutes
- 3:52Speaker 1: as in women. We're talking about places and things too
- 3:56Speaker 1: that we idolize and that we spend our money on
- 3:58Speaker 1: that we don't necessarily need. Now, I also want to
- 4:02Speaker 1: make this clear that this is a Bible study and
- 4:05Speaker 1: a Bible teaching. This is not necessarily to condemn you.
- 4:09Speaker 1: We're here to learn, We're here to also hear what
- 4:13Speaker 1: Ember has to say. The Holy Spirit has to say.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I want to make that clear. I'm not Holy Grail,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I'm not a saint. I want to make that point
- 4:23Speaker 1: made before I continue verse four. A king who rules
- 4:28Speaker 1: with justice makes his country strong. We're talking about true justice.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But a king who takes lots of taxes destroys his country.
- 4:38Speaker 1: We don't know how good we have it in this country.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And there are taxes, and there's property taxes, there's this
- 4:44Speaker 1: and that, but there's an income tax that comes back right,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and we can have deductions. We can have we can
- 4:54Speaker 1: be reimbursed. Some countries don't have that. And I'm not
- 4:57Speaker 1: sitting here. I'm not sitting here saying that this country
- 5:00Speaker 1: is extremely great. But I am very grateful to be
- 5:04Speaker 1: a part of this country, considering that there are other
- 5:07Speaker 1: countries that it's a lot worse off, and we have
- 5:10Speaker 1: a lot of freedoms. Let's get into verse five, though.
- 5:13Speaker 1: If you always praise your friends with sweet words, that
- 5:17Speaker 1: will be a trap that you walk into yourself. You've
- 5:22Speaker 1: got to be able to call your peoples out. You
- 5:25Speaker 1: got to be able to take constructive criticism as well.
- 5:28Speaker 1: When your friends are really telling you, like, hey, maybe
- 5:30Speaker 1: you shouldn't be saying those things. You shouldn't be doing
- 5:33Speaker 1: those things. But there's a way of going about it.
- 5:37Speaker 1: When I say constructive criticism, a lot of criticism nowadays
- 5:40Speaker 1: is we're being gossiped about and shamed and belittled, and
- 5:45Speaker 1: it's not godly. God don't like ugly Amen, So verse six,
- 5:49Speaker 1: the sin of an evil person becomes a trap that
- 5:52Speaker 1: catches him. But a righteous person sings with joy. A
- 5:58Speaker 1: righteous person sings with joy. And we're not just talking
- 6:03Speaker 1: about when we're praising the Lord. There are numerous times
- 6:08Speaker 1: that I can recall on my walk and in my
- 6:11Speaker 1: belief seasons where there is certain songs that I know
- 6:16Speaker 1: word for word and they would bring me joy. And
- 6:21Speaker 1: we're getting into verse seven. Righteous righteous people want poor
- 6:27Speaker 1: people to perceive justice, but wicked people do not understand
- 6:32Speaker 1: things like that. A righteous person understands that there's going
- 6:39Speaker 1: to be a trial. There's going to be times where
- 6:44Speaker 1: we are in the wrong, and people need to be
- 6:46Speaker 1: held accountable and change their behaviors. I know that for
- 6:54Speaker 1: a fact that I am in a state of mind
- 7:00Speaker 1: it being two years and two months today that I
- 7:03Speaker 1: have not had an alcoholic beverage for twenty years. I
- 7:07Speaker 1: could not go three years and being from transitioning from
- 7:14Speaker 1: being just a believer to a follower of Christ and
- 7:18Speaker 1: realizing that it's not the justice that was served that
- 7:29Speaker 1: is wrong. When I was going through my times of
- 7:37Speaker 1: in encounters with the law and breaking the law, it
- 7:41Speaker 1: all had to do with alcohol. I have never been
- 7:46Speaker 1: arrested for anything other than alcohol related and I was
- 7:55Speaker 1: not righteous at a period of time. I was wicked,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I was weaky. I didn't know understand things of this nature.
- 8:01Speaker 1: So let's get into verse eight. People who insult their
- 8:04Speaker 1: friends bring trouble to a city. But wise people stop arguments.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's so good to be able to agree to disagree
- 8:12Speaker 1: with your significant other, or your friends, or your coworkers,
- 8:17Speaker 1: your colleagues, your business partners. We're not all gonna agree.
- 8:21Speaker 1: We all have an opinion, we all have a belief system.
- 8:25Speaker 1: We all have a nervous system as well that needs
- 8:27Speaker 1: to be taken care of. And when it comes to insults,
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'm one of the best. I can argue with the
- 8:38Speaker 1: best of them, and I have tried to steer away
- 8:41Speaker 1: from that as much as possible. But it's not easy.
- 8:43Speaker 1: It's not easy when you're backed up in a corner
- 8:46Speaker 1: and you don't know necessarily what to do. But when
- 8:51Speaker 1: we get into verse nine, I want you to keep
- 8:53Speaker 1: an open mind. If a wise person accuses a foolish
- 8:58Speaker 1: person in court, they will be no agreement. The fool
- 9:02Speaker 1: will only laugh, or he will become angry. A fool
- 9:06Speaker 1: cannot take accountability. A fool thinks that their way is
- 9:11Speaker 1: the only way. Yashahweh is the only way, the truth
- 9:16Speaker 1: and the life. We're talking about Jesus Christ a man.
- 9:20Speaker 1: So let me get into a deeper verse ten. As
- 9:24Speaker 1: we get closer to ten minutes, we're going through these
- 9:26Speaker 1: verses and we're breaking them down one by one on
- 9:28Speaker 1: Proverbs chapter twenty nine, if you want to read along
- 9:30Speaker 1: as you hear along. Murderers hate honest people. They tried
- 9:38Speaker 1: to kill any good person. And we're not just talking
- 9:41Speaker 1: about in the physical sense. We're talking about murderers that
- 9:46Speaker 1: are dishonest. People will try to break people down and
- 9:49Speaker 1: gossip behind their backs, you know, and it's really a
- 9:54Speaker 1: reflection of them. Let me get deeper. Foolish people cannot
- 10:00Speaker 1: control their anger. The wise people are patient. I know
- 10:04Speaker 1: this for a fact. It's true. I was once a foolish,
- 10:09Speaker 1: foolish foolish man that could not control his anger. Now
- 10:14Speaker 1: being in a state of sobriety, being in a state
- 10:18Speaker 1: of mind that I've been able to channel this anger
- 10:20Speaker 1: and have emotional intelligence after taking a program to unprogram
- 10:26Speaker 1: my mind. There was a time when there was a
- 10:30Speaker 1: speaker that came in and was talking about child support
- 10:35Speaker 1: or Alanomi. I just I pronounced it wrong, but still
- 10:39Speaker 1: she was talking about something that triggered me, and my
- 10:42Speaker 1: mentor took me outside of the room and was talking
- 10:45Speaker 1: to me, and it was definitely I was triggered by
- 10:52Speaker 1: somebody that was sitting next to me that was also
- 10:54Speaker 1: a father and said, yeah, this is not for us.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And that's because it was almost like she was recruiting
- 11:00Speaker 1: the people that were females. And it was also not
- 11:06Speaker 1: really something that I one hundred percent agreed with, but
- 11:13Speaker 1: that's because I was going through my own trial and
- 11:14Speaker 1: tribulation with it. Even during that program, I went to
- 11:18Speaker 1: court and was fighting for my son, and it was
- 11:22Speaker 1: a very hard period of time in my recovery, but
- 11:26Speaker 1: I made it through it. I mean by the grace
- 11:28Speaker 1: of God, not not by any of my means. And
- 11:33Speaker 1: Verse eleven. Foolish people cannot control their anger. We've stated
- 11:36Speaker 1: that when I were in verse twelve in Proverbs chapter
- 11:39Speaker 1: twenty nine, we're going to close out here soon. When
- 11:42Speaker 1: a ruler listens to lies, all his officers will be wicked.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Verse thirteen states the Lord gives light to all people
- 11:51Speaker 1: so that they can see. He does that for poor
- 11:56Speaker 1: people and also for those who are cruel to them.
- 12:01Speaker 1: God's going to give you those goggles. And I know
- 12:04Speaker 1: about the drunk goggles, and I don't want to get
- 12:07Speaker 1: into that necessarily, but I'll tell you what. Putting on
- 12:11Speaker 1: the glasses of the truth you really see and you
- 12:20Speaker 1: have to be careful not to make judgment. And it's
- 12:24Speaker 1: also the ears we're talking about. When you're a truth
- 12:28Speaker 1: seeker and you are walking with Christ, there's going to
- 12:32Speaker 1: be things that just don't make sense or it does
- 12:38Speaker 1: make sense, and you know that it's wrong. And there
- 12:43Speaker 1: has to be a standard put. I'm not talking about
- 12:48Speaker 1: a boundary, but a standard put to be able to
- 12:51Speaker 1: stand up for yourself and do it in a respectful way.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And as I have practiced this, I will never ever
- 13:03Speaker 1: ever let somebody disrespect me in the way that they
- 13:11Speaker 1: have in the past. And I say that because how
- 13:15Speaker 1: I react Now. Yes, it's defense mode, but it's also
- 13:19Speaker 1: I know when too. Let's change this topic or let
- 13:23Speaker 1: me walk away. I'm okay with walking away from the scene.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Verse fourteen. If a king judges poor people in a
- 13:34Speaker 1: true way, he will always have the power to rule.
- 13:38Speaker 1: And this is how we'll close out on verse fifteen.
- 13:40Speaker 1: If you want your children to be wise, warn them
- 13:44Speaker 1: and punish them when they do wrong things. If you
- 13:48Speaker 1: let them do anything that they want to do, they
- 13:52Speaker 1: will make their mother ashamed. And I learned from this
- 13:55Speaker 1: as a child. You know, my mom and my dad
- 13:59Speaker 1: they kind of let us run free, me and my brother.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And this is where I'm going to close out. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: want to make this clear that I have definitely encountered that.
- 14:09Speaker 1: And this was a great Proverbs chapter. They all have been.
- 14:13Speaker 1: This is the Ember Show, your host's Ember, and the
- 14:17Speaker 1: best is yet to come. And every episode is different.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Sometimes I add music into it, sometimes I add sound effects,
- 14:25Speaker 1: but most of the time it's just the Holy Spirit
- 14:28Speaker 1: and me kind of just cutting it up. So I
- 14:31Speaker 1: hope that you come back, and I hope that you
- 14:34Speaker 1: were able to obtain something valuable in this episode. Thank
- 14:40Speaker 1: you for pressing play and understand that God has not
- 14:45Speaker 1: done with you yet. If you're listening to this podcast,
- 14:48Speaker 1: he has great plans for you. You just got to
- 14:49Speaker 1: align with him, have that relationship with Jesus, Allow the
- 14:53Speaker 1: Holy Spirit to come in, clean up house, and the
- 14:56Speaker 1: Lord Jesus Christ's name. I pray for that. Amen. Thank
- 14:59Speaker 1: you for President Blake
