- 1:46couple of weeks where we've found some episodes. We're back on track with this
- 1:49episode from February the first of nineteen forty eight. The title is the Case
- 1:56of the Classical Clue. Hello called Silper two eight four eight At all You
- 2:07Postwar All Dutch Cleanser, Famous part Chasing Dirk present Nick Carter, Famous part
- 2:15Chasing Crime. Every week at this time, two great names are joined as
- 2:25you Postwar All Dutch Cleanser brings you one of the most resourceful and daring characters
- 2:30in all detective fiction, Nick Carter, Master Detective Patsy. Did you get
- 2:43that music schedule from station WXKX, Yes. From seven thirty eight last night,
- 2:47the evening Music AU program was on as usual, all classical h that's
- 2:52right. Then from A to eleven they had three solid hours of swing music
- 2:55from different nightclubs. How about that bungo bongo too, Riff Jackson and his
- 3:00band played it at nine fifty three. Oh good. That not only tells
- 3:04us what time the murder was committed, but also who did it and how.
- 3:07Now for the Case of the Classical Clue, Today's adventure starring Lon Clark
- 3:12as Nick Carter, dropped you by new post war Old Dutch cleansing. It's
- 3:17a dull weekday morning, and things are pretty slow at Nick's office. He's
- 3:22opening the mail while his assistant Patsy Bowen types a couple of letters. Hey,
- 3:29Patsy, you ever hear of Henry Worth? Henry were that extentric millionaire
- 3:34who lives on top of his own private mountain. Yes, there's a letter
- 3:37from him here in the morning's mail. On the check. Oh, get
- 3:39him on the phone. Will you numbers here in the letter cliff Side three
- 3:44four nine eight. Okay, operator, operator cliff Side three four nine eight,
- 3:53Please cliff Side three four nine eight. That's right. What's up,
- 3:57Nique? Something exciting? Once his wards Beyonce investigated, it seems that mister
- 4:01Worth doesn't approve of the engagement. Oh oh hello, just a moment please
- 4:08here, Nick, Hello, Nick Carter speaking mister Worth. Is mister Worth's
- 4:13secretary. I'd like to talk of mister Worth himself. Please. I'm afraid
- 4:16that's quite impossible. I think if you'll tell him who it is, he'll
- 4:19speak to me. I doctor, mister Worth is dead. He's dead.
- 4:24Yes, he was murdered last night. Are we almost at the top of
- 4:38this darn mountain? Nick? Almost Betsy House should be around the next turn.
- 4:42These hairpin turns are making me dizzy. Watch out of that rock in
- 4:46the road, I said, step rolled down from somewhere above. Probably have
- 4:51to clear a few rocks off this road after every big storm. Nick,
- 4:55this Claudia Rowe who asked you to investigate the murder. Who she she was
- 4:59Henry Worth's ward, the one who's fiance wanted me to check up on.
- 5:02When I spoke her on the phone, she asked whether i'd take charge of
- 5:04the case. Uh huh, Oh, there's another of those rocks in the
- 5:08roads. Oh, there's the house up ahead going ck. It's a real
- 5:12mansion. Uh huh. I'mlet's see the inside of it in just a minute.
- 5:15The local chief of police said he'd have everybody there waiting for us or
- 5:29before I talked to the other's chief, Benson, I wish you'd tell me
- 5:30just what happened, Oh, mister Carter. First of all, mister Worth
- 5:34was alone here last night. There were no servants in the house. No.
- 5:38Mister Franklin, that's the old man's secretary, was in Patterson visiting his
- 5:42sister. The other two were in New York. Oh what other two Cardia
- 5:46Rowe is the one who has you, mister Carter. Oh yes, and
- 5:47Don Worth, the old man's nephew. He lives here too. They're the
- 5:51ones who found the body when they got back a little after twelve. How
- 5:54long had he been dead? Well, it was almost an hour before I
- 5:58got here, so I wouldn't be able to tell you, and the medical
- 6:00examiner couldn't tell for sure either. He was out on a private case.
- 6:03He didn't get here about two a m. What did he say? He
- 6:06said Worth couldn't have been dead over three hours. He was killed some time
- 6:11after eleven o'clock. Then, apparently, Well, I guess i'll start off
- 6:15by talking to the people who found the body. I must roll. I
- 6:28suppose you'd tell me about last evening. Well, Don and I went into
- 6:31New York about seven point thirty. We went to a show and we were
- 6:34going to a nightclub after it. But I tried to phone Uncle Henry to
- 6:38say we'd be late, and he didn't answer. But worried us because we
- 6:42knew he was alone here. Besides, it was raining, and that rode
- 6:44up a mountain gets awfully bad in stormy weather, so Don thought that we'd
- 6:48better get back home, I see go on. Well, when we got
- 6:53to the house, I could hear the radio going in the music room,
- 6:56so we looked in there first, and there he was. One of you
- 7:00saw the body first, I did it. At first I thought the room
- 7:03was empty, and then I saw his feet sticking up from behind the sofa.
- 7:08And not take it easy, honey. First we thought he might have
- 7:12helen a heart attack or a stroke. When I went over to see the
- 7:16it was a knife in his throat. And then what did you do?
- 7:20Well? I told Claudia he'd been killed in the phone the police. I
- 7:24didn't want her to see him, not like that. Oh, it was
- 7:27ghastly. And you called the police, Miss Row, Yes, I called
- 7:30him from the phone in the hall. Are you here? Oh? Yes,
- 7:33I'm in here. Morgan came as soon as I heard what happened.
- 7:39Yeah, Mitter Carna, this is my fiancee, Morgan Fenwick. How do
- 7:42you do Carter? You're not Nick Carter, the private detective? Yes?
- 7:46Yes, why how do you what's he doing here? I understood it was
- 7:51a burglar that killed mister any reason? Do you think it wasn't mister Fenwick?
- 7:55No, of course not. Uh huh. I sit down, will
- 7:58you? I am, I may want to ask you some questions, of
- 8:01course, thanks, all right, don't ad anything unusual happen earlier in the
- 8:05evening, No, after dinner, Uncle Henry and I had coffee in the
- 8:09music room while Claudia went upstairs to dress for the theater, and the two
- 8:13of you left about seven thirty. About that, I think the servants had
- 8:16gone a few minutes before. How about mister Worth secretary? Oh Franklin was
- 8:18with his sister in Pattison. He he left before dinner. I see,
- 8:22well that brings us to you, mister Fenway Nick. I think I've found
- 8:26something. The Chief thought I better show it to you right away. Here's
- 8:30Miri Carter. I think we've got a real clue. Good what is it?
- 8:33Bessie? Well, we were looking around outside and I picked this up
- 8:37beside the driveway. Oh Man's glove? Is it yours? Done? No?
- 8:43And it's not Uncle Henry's either. I'm sure that why that that happens
- 8:48to be my glove? I must have dropped it when I came in.
- 8:50Just now, I see, while sheif Benson. I think the next thing
- 8:54is to look at those photographs you took of the body. Ooh, here's
- 9:07the picture of the body, just the way we found. It's lying on
- 9:09the floor behind that sofa right next to you. Room. Here is just
- 9:13the way it is, wasn't it? A lot of thing's been changed.
- 9:16We turned the radio off, but we left it tuned to the same station,
- 9:20fifteen ten. That would be w XKX. That's right, the midnight
- 9:24classics program was still on when I got here. I see, Oh,
- 9:28patsay, I wish you to do something for me. Of course, Nick,
- 9:30what is it? The medical examiner says, mister Worth couldn't have been
- 9:33killed earlier than eleven o'clock? Is that right? Chief? Right? And
- 9:35don mister Worth's nephew phoned from New York at about eleven thirty and got no
- 9:39answer. Well, that gives us a pretty good idea of when he was
- 9:41burdon. Hey, he does it that? So check that, William Patsy,
- 9:45you get in touch with the phone company and find out the exact time
- 9:48of that call from New York. I'll do it for you, miss Bowen,
- 9:50and I can probably get the information quicker than you can. Thanks,
- 9:52Chief. Let me know as soon as you find out whatever. Right,
- 9:56Oh, I think I'll have a talk with mister Worth's secretary, Carl Franklin.
- 10:09How long have you been mister Worth's secretary, mister Franklin? Seven years?
- 10:13Was he a nice fellow to work for? It was fine, fine,
- 10:16as long as he got his own way. That sounds as though you
- 10:18might have had trouble with him. Oh, so somebody told you that Worth
- 10:22just fired me? Did they? It's a matter of fact, no,
- 10:24no one did. But I am interested. Seven years I've been his secretary,
- 10:30seven years of giving my whole life to this job, day and night,
- 10:33and then to be tossed aside like an old shoe. Why did he
- 10:39fire you, mister Franklin, because he found out that I was in love
- 10:41with Claudia. I see. I asked the permission to tell her how I
- 10:46felt, and he laughed at me. You resented that, I suppose,
- 10:50Of course I did. I lost my temper and then he grew angry and
- 10:54told me I could leave at the end of the week. Oh what were
- 10:56his objections? I was interfering with his plans, something nobody was ever permitted
- 11:01to. Do you mean you were interfering at mister Worth's plans for his ward?
- 11:05Yes, he decided years ago that Claudia and Don should marry, but
- 11:09she defied him. She didn't want to marry Don. No, wait a
- 11:11minute, maybe we're getting someplace. Was there a quarrel when Claudia became engaged
- 11:16to Morgan Fenwick? A quarrel the old man said she didn't marry Don.
- 11:20He was going to change his will and cut her off without a penny.
- 11:24Oh, it certainly gives her a motive. She had no opportunity passes.
- 11:28She was in New York at the time of the morning. Yeah, got
- 11:30the information for you, Nick. Oh good, let's have it. She
- 11:33The call from New York came in at exactly eleven twenty eight, and they
- 11:37rang fifteen or twenty times. Don kept insisting that his uncle was home,
- 11:41that they should keep on ringing. In other words, he was killed before
- 11:45eleven twenty eighth. And I found out something else too. There was a
- 11:48telegram phone from here last night at tenth Let me see seven thirty three telegram
- 11:54to whom to Morgan Fenwick in New York. Well, now I got a
- 11:58copy. I had listened to this imperative. I see you tonight regarding Claudia,
- 12:03we'll expect you eleven o'clock my home, signed Henry Worth. What if
- 12:18I did receive that telegram? I tell you I didn't come out here.
- 12:20But why didn't you? Fenwick? Well, it it was raining. Do
- 12:24you know that mister Worth was going to make a new will, disinheriting his
- 12:26ward? Well? I yes. But in other words, the fact that
- 12:30Worth was killed before he could change his will meant that you would marry a
- 12:33couple of million dollars instead of a girl without a penny. But I tell
- 12:37you I wasn't here. I didn't come near the place, mister Fenwick.
- 12:39I have here the glove you said you dropped to the drive this morning you
- 12:43happen to have the mate to it. Well, yes, mind if I
- 12:46see it? And oh, oh who you are? Chief? What time
- 12:50did it stop raining last night? A little after twelve o'clock and this morning
- 12:54the sun is shining? What are you getting at, Nick? Look at
- 12:56these gloves, Betsy. See the difference I got? I do? Why?
- 13:00Of course, the one mister Fenwick just gave you looks like news.
- 13:03The other is spotted with sand and gravel mark and the leather as stiff,
- 13:07just as it would be if it were left on the ground during a rainstorm.
- 13:11All right, all right, I was here, but I didn't kill
- 13:13the old man. Do you think I could stick a knife into his heart
- 13:16knowing that Claudia loved him. Let's say I said you've been laying Henwick.
- 13:20You were here last night? Yes, I was. But that doesn't mek
- 13:24A Henwick. I arrest you for the murder of Henry Worth. Golly,
- 13:39it's worse coming down this mountain than it is going up. H huh.
- 13:43But are you so quiet about me? You ought to be proud of yourself.
- 13:46Should I of Corey less than an alley you broke down? Fenwick's story
- 13:50improved. He was at the worst home at the time of the murder.
- 13:54If he doesn't get the electric chair, I missed my gifts. That's what
- 13:58bothers me. Patsy Benwick is innocent. Patsy stares at Nick in amazement as
- 14:11he maneuvers the car down the steep, winding road. For by his own
- 14:13admission, Nick has built up a very convincing case against an innocent man.
- 14:18We'll see what happens in just a moment. Now back to the case of
- 14:26the classical clue. Today's adventure with Nick Carter brought you by a new postwar
- 14:31all Dutch cleanser. Morgan Fenwick is under arrest for the murder of Henry Worth
- 14:35on the strength of the evidence that Nick has uncovered, and yet Nick says
- 14:39that Fenwick is innocent. He's now talking to Fenwick in the Eastland County jail.
- 14:43Fenwick, I know you didn't kill the old man. That's why I'm
- 14:46here. Oh, yes, what made you change your mind? I remark
- 14:50you made just before you were arrested? He said, do you think I
- 14:54could stick a knife in his heart? Knowing that Claudia loved him well worthless?
- 14:58That in the throat, not the heart in the throat. So obviously
- 15:03you didn't know that, so you couldn't have been the one who did it.
- 15:05Well, then why didn't you tell the police? I tried to tell
- 15:07the chief, but he refused to believe it was important. Why now,
- 15:11why did you alive Enerick about being at the house. Well, because I
- 15:16was afraid that if the police found out that I was there, they they
- 15:18never believed that I didn't do it. Exactly what did happen? Well,
- 15:24when I got the old man's telegram, I started out immediately. I didn't
- 15:28wait till eleven o'clock. It wasn't even teniant when I got there. Uh
- 15:31huh. There were lights on in the house, and I could hear the
- 15:35radio playing. No one answered when I rang the bell. Maybe the radio
- 15:39was the loud worth couldn't hear you. I rang for five minutes. Then
- 15:43I pounded on the door and I yelled. He'd been alive. He couldn't
- 15:46have missed hearing me. He was alive until at least eleven o'clock, according
- 15:50to the medical examiner. Now what time did you get back to New York?
- 15:54Oh? Not for hours. I drove around trying to think, and
- 15:58you don't have an alibi, not a shred of one. Oh, by
- 16:02the way, did you recognize any of the tunes the radio was playing?
- 16:04It was swing music? Oh yeah, I recognized one of the pieces.
- 16:08It was that jungle thing, bongo bongo. All right, I think I
- 16:11another one. You mean, all right, thanks, But what's that got
- 16:15to do with it? I want to do some checking up, Fenwick.
- 16:18I helped get you into this, and I promise you I'll get you out
- 16:21of it. But mister Carr, that's impossible. Morgan couldn't have heard that
- 16:33bongo bongo song on I'm Uncle Henry's radio. Why not miss rule? Because
- 16:37Uncle Henry hated swinging music. He wasn't allowed to be played in the house.
- 16:41I see what programs did He like? Nothing but classical or semi classical
- 16:45music. There's a program from seven thirty to eight that he never missed.
- 16:49What stations you know, w x k X. I believe he was listening
- 16:53to it when we left the theater, and that same station was tuned in
- 16:56when you got home. Yes to the midnight classics program. He liked that
- 17:00too. That maybe he just left the same station on all evening. No,
- 17:03Uncle Hanny would never do that. Huh. He never had a program
- 17:06on anything but classical music on the radio in his whole life. Well,
- 17:11if that's so, the only answer is that Morgan Fenwick is lying. Oh
- 17:25howerbats he did you get that schedule from station WXKX. Uh? Huh?
- 17:27Will I put the window down and starting to rain, I'll do it.
- 17:30Okay, Well, here's the schedule for last night. I have new XKX
- 17:37the evening music. Our program was on from seven thirty eight as usual,
- 17:40all classical huh yes. But from eight to eleven there's a program called Swing
- 17:44round the Town three solid hours of broadcast in different nightclubs. That's what I
- 17:48wanted to know. How about that piece Bungo Bungo? For your information,
- 17:52mister Carter, the correct name of that tune is Civilization, and it was
- 17:56played by Riff Jackson and his banded exactly nine fifty three last night. And
- 18:00Fenwick was telling the truth. He said he got there just before ten.
- 18:03It also proves that the old man's radio was two to something else beside classical
- 18:07music. Well is that important except to prove that Benwick was there at that
- 18:11time? Certainly is Passey? That radio schedule you just read me, together
- 18:14with the facts I already know, tells me exactly what time Henry Worth was
- 18:17murdered, Who did it? And how? Hello? This is Chief Benjin
- 18:33Oh, this is Nick Carter. Chief. Oh, yes, Nick,
- 18:36your office told me i'd find you at the Worth home. Thought you considered
- 18:38this case closed? What are you doing out there? I still have a
- 18:41few wads and anas to clean up, But I've still got the killer locked
- 18:44up safe in jail. Don't you worry about that. As a matter of
- 18:47fact, Chief, the killer is somewhere in that house with you, right
- 18:49now he's what I said. You still that chief? Yeah? Sure,
- 18:55but look, if you've got truth anymore, I can't talk now. What's
- 18:59the matter. Someone's listening in on an extension on your end, probably the
- 19:02person we were talking about a minute ago. I'll tell you when I see
- 19:06you. Who's in the house now? Everybody? The last I knew,
- 19:08Miss Road, don Worth, and mister Franklin. Of course the servants.
- 19:11Suppose you keep them all there with you. I'll be out there in forty
- 19:15five minutes. Oh boy, quite a night for a ride? Does Jorn
- 19:30klouds Key? Passing in front of the moon and I can hardly see a
- 19:32thing? Well, you didn't have to come along, you know, and
- 19:34miss the most exciting part of this case. Come on, Nick, tell
- 19:40me who did it? They wait, passy, I have to give all
- 19:44my attention to this road. It's better nothing good weather. Well, at
- 19:48least you can tell me who we're after. Why, Patsy. You should
- 19:51be able to figure that out for yourself. Yep, Oh, what's the
- 19:55matter. What's the matter? Nick? What stuck the darn it? Ah?
- 20:00Wish i'd put on chains. Well, might as well get out and
- 20:04see if I can do anything. About it. Golly nay, is that
- 20:11thunder. That's not thunder, it's a rock slid. Out of this Run
- 20:15out of the car quick, yep, hurry, we'll have to run for
- 20:17it. Hurry, let me look at coming down faster, Patsy. As
- 20:33Nick and Patsy run frantically from the path of the avalanche, a cascade of
- 20:36rocks and earth roars down from the side of the mountain. We'll see what
- 20:40happens in just a moment. Now for the conclusion of the case of the
- 20:48classical clue. Today's adventure with Nick Carter brought to you by a new pulse
- 20:53war old Dutch cleanser. The car stuck on the steep, winding road that
- 20:59leads to the home of hen Nick and Patsy are caught in the path of
- 21:02a rock slide that roars down upon them from the mountain side. They leave
- 21:06the car and run frantically down the road as oh, thanks Heaven, I
- 21:18thought we were gone, And for sure it was a pretty close shave.
- 21:22Blackhead was just a small local slide instead of a real avalanche. I'll say,
- 21:26as soon as we get our breath back, let's get on up to
- 21:29that house. I'm anxious to talk to the person who arranged this little welcome
- 21:32for us. You mean it wasn't an accident, Unless I'm mistaken that slide
- 21:37was started by the same person who killed Henry Worth. It's Rae, Don,
- 21:51mister Franklin, and Chief Benson. I'm glad you're all here together.
- 21:56It's Roe. As you left for the theater last night, did you see
- 22:00your uncle? Oh, of course you did, Claudia, as we were
- 22:03going out the door. Oh no, no, no, no, you're
- 22:04wrong. Don. Remember you and your uncle Henry had coffee in the music
- 22:08room and when I came down, you were waiting for me for the stairs,
- 22:12and you didn't actually see your uncle, I know. And when you
- 22:15returned from the theater you saw the body as you and Don were standing in
- 22:19the doorway to the music room. Yeah, that's right. What all you
- 22:22saw was his feet and legs sticking out from behind the sofa. Yes.
- 22:26Don went over to see what had happened, and then he told me not
- 22:30to go in, but to call a police from the hall telephone room.
- 22:33What are you getting at, Nick, Just this, Chief Henry Worth was
- 22:36alive when Morgan Fenwick knocked on the door shortly before ten o'clock. Sure he
- 22:40was also alive when that phone rang at eleven thirty, But that's impossible.
- 22:42And he was alive when Claudia saw his legs sticking out from behind the sofa
- 22:47at twelve fifteen. No, No, he couldn't. He was. He
- 22:49was alive until you went into the hall the phone for the police. Then
- 22:52while you were phoning, Don stabbed him. That's a lie. I didn't
- 22:56touch you, Chief. I want a laboratory examination of those coffee we found
- 23:00in the music room and an autopsy on Henry Worth's body. Well, of
- 23:03course, Nick, but why yes, Nick, what are you getting at?
- 23:06I think you'll find the coffee he drank with his loving nephew at seven
- 23:08thirty was drugged. That's ridiculous. That's why you didn't see him when you
- 23:12left, Miss Rowe. Your uncle was already stretched out, unconscious in the
- 23:15floor behind the sofa. What down had placed him so you could discover him
- 23:19when you will be pack Lenny, you can talk later. That's why he
- 23:22didn't want you to take a good look, Claudia, and also why he
- 23:26sent you out of the room to telephone, because the murder hadn't been committed.
- 23:30Yet you're crazy. Why would I drug him and then wait five hours
- 23:33to stab him to establish an alibi? Don an almost perfect alibi by trying
- 23:38to put through a phone call at eleven thirty and then letting Miss Row discover
- 23:42an apparently dead body when you returned, you made it appear that Henry Worth
- 23:45was killed before you got back. So all the time they were gone,
- 23:48Worth was only drugged. That's right. Don knew a medical examination would prove
- 23:53that Worth was not dead until after they left at seven point thirty. Well,
- 23:57come on, Sanny, let's get I'll bet Miss Roe's boyfriend'll be glad
- 24:02to move out of your cell and let you have it all by yourself.
- 24:17Nick, you said that radio schedule told you all about the murder. How
- 24:19did it, oh, passy? We knew that the radio was tuned to
- 24:22a program of classical music on WXKX at seven point thirty and again at twelve
- 24:27fifteen on the folks returned from town. Yes, according to Fenwick, it
- 24:32was tuned to a program of dance band music on WXKX at ten o'clock when
- 24:37he was there, So for three hours the radio played swing music. Uh
- 24:41huh, And we know Henry Worth wouldn't allow anything but classical music in his
- 24:45home right, and that means he was either unconscious or dead. But we
- 24:48though he wasn't dead until after eleven o'clock. So I began thinking back the
- 24:53coffee he drank with down early in the evening, the fact that nobody saw
- 24:56him alive again, Claudia's story that Don sent her out of the room without
- 25:02a chance to look at the body. I did all edded up. But
- 25:04what was his motive? It was the girl that mister Worth was disinheriting.
- 25:08As a matter of fact, it was both of them. You see.
- 25:11When Claudia announced her engagement to Fenwick, Don went to Worth, his uncle
- 25:15and insisted that he make Claudia marry him. Don oh. When Worth said
- 25:19he couldn't force her to do anything against her will, Don got mad.
- 25:23He blamed Worth for the way things had gone, and before they were threw
- 25:26they had a really serious quarrel. So the old man decided to cut Daun
- 25:30out of his will too. Humph. It was that kind of man.
- 25:34Then it was done who sent that telegram to Fenwick, the one telling him
- 25:37to be at the house by eleven. Right, he was not only establishing
- 25:40an alibi for himself, but putting his rival Fenwick on the spot too.
- 25:44Then, later, after listening in on your phone conversation with Chief Fenson,
- 25:47Don realized you were on the right track and tried to kill us by starting
- 25:51a rock slide. Awn. I didn't take much to start it in such
- 25:52a stormy night. Well, if it had worked, he'd have been sitting
- 25:56pretty. A lot of murderers think that, Patsy, how they always find
- 26:00themselves sitting pretty in an electric chair. Nick, what sort of adventure do
- 26:14you have for us next week? Welcome back? Well, Nick turned out
- 26:18to be right, and the chief of police turned out to be wrong.
- 26:22But in his defense, he was thinking more real life policemen as opposed to
- 26:29radio detective because the clue of the first suspect misidentifying where the wound was inflicted
- 26:38not only doesn't really prove anything, but it could have been a clever dodge
- 26:44to camouflage's own guilt. Of course, it didn't turn out to be that
- 26:48way. I have to admit that when they described him having three hours of
- 27:00band remotes, that definitely sounded appealing, un Like the deceited I'm actually a
- 27:10very big fan of nineteen forties music and the swing varieties, but also others.
- 27:17It was just a great era for music. You not only had Bing
- 27:22Crosby, but you had so many great singers in so many different varieties.
- 27:29You had John Charles Thomas, Gordon McCrae, Duke Ellington, Meredith Wilson.
- 27:34He's a wide variety of talents, singers, composers, band leaders. For
- 27:41my money, that's my favorite era of music, from the nineteen forties into
- 27:48the early fifties. It just doesn't get a whole lot better than that.
- 27:52And of course the band remotes, while they're not completely unheard of, they
- 27:56are relatively rare, most of them lost for obvious reasons, but quite a
- 28:03few with the Duke Ellington of surface. And also there's a whole series called
- 28:08Let's Go Night Clubbing. And then for the classical stuff there's the Bell Telephone
- 28:14Hour. Again, in my opinion, just a great era for music.
- 28:18But enough of that for now. We'll be back tomorrow with yours truly,
- 28:23Johnny Dollar, and next Thursday it'll be time for another case with that master
- 28:29Detective Nick Carter. In the meantime, send your comments to Box thirteen at
