- 0:50videos a day on the platforms. So guys, also some meltdowns,
- 0:53something that happens quite often for autistic people and a
- 0:56meltdown if you're not autistic and you're watching this video
- 0:58is where you become emotionally overwhelmed by too much stimuli
- 1:02from from your environment that you then become a volcano of
- 1:06emotions, to put it quite bluntly.
- 1:09But there are no ways of overcoming these very quickly.
- 1:11There are ways of overcoming these in the correct way and
- 1:13there's ways of doing it an incorrect way.
- 1:15So I'm going to share with you some tips and tricks and little
- 1:17packs here that you can help overcome A meltdown quite
- 1:19quickly. So the first thing I'm going to
- 1:21say is that after you have a meltdown, you need to drink a
- 1:24lot of water. I mean like 2 big glasses of
- 1:26water. What happens is when you
- 1:27hyperventilate and when you, when you start to get headaches,
- 1:30your, your brain is, is using a lot of oxygen.
- 1:32There's enough, a lot of water and you'll then get dehydrated.
- 1:36Now if you're dehydrated, what is going to happen is that
- 1:39you're going to be prolonged in your recovery from meltdown.
- 1:42It could take 24 hours typically, but then it could
- 1:45take 3 or 4 days because you've been dehydrated.
- 1:47So you feel groggy and horrible for two or three days
- 1:50afterwards. So this would just prolong the
- 1:52horrible feeling of having a ultimate meltdown.
- 1:54Now, when you're in the middle of having an autism meltdown or
- 1:56if you're feeling like you're going to have a meltdown, you
- 1:59need to change your environment. ACP.
- 2:01The quicker you can get out of that environment and go towards
- 2:03a different environment will change your perspective.
- 2:05Because remember, the environment is causing this
- 2:08meltdown. Everything in your environment,
- 2:10your spatial, your spatial awareness is causing this
- 2:12meltdown. If you instantly go from your
- 2:15environment, it's causing you the harm at the moment to a
- 2:18different environment, you will instantly remedy most of the
- 2:22issues. You'll still be in an upset
- 2:23state, but you'll definitely be remedy most of the issues.
- 2:26Now what I'd like to do some good things.
- 2:28So we're normally doing good things in life.
- 2:29We're always going towards pleasure and away from pain.
- 2:31So before you had the meltdown, you're probably doing something
- 2:34quite pleasurable. You we walked to the mall to buy
- 2:35a new equipment or a new piece of clothing or whatever.
- 2:38But then the meltdown happens in the mall.
- 2:40So what do you need to do? You need to sandwich a negative
- 2:43experience between 2 positive experiences.
- 2:44So the positive experiences going somewhere because you
- 2:46thought was going to be fun, that's negative experience was a
- 2:48meltdown. Take yourself out the situation
- 2:51and put something on your phone or your iPad that you really
- 2:54enjoy. It could be your your your topic
- 2:57of interest, your research topic, whatever it is, do that
- 2:59because then it's going to give you pleasure straight away.
- 3:01Those are probably the least three most powerful things I
- 3:04could tell you to do right now in the next time you've
- 3:07experienced having an autism meltdown.
- 3:08And this goes for parents as well.
- 3:09Watching now guys, I have an autism Wifax PDF book you can
- 3:12download from autismhacks.net. The link is in the description
- 3:15down below and I'll see you in the next video guys for peace.
