- 5:02Speaker 1: Hey y'all.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Hey, we are back. Hey, does it seem like two weeks?
- 5:09Speaker 3: It doesn't seem like two weeks. Seems like we were
- 5:11Speaker 3: just here last week. But listen, we want to welcome
- 5:15Speaker 3: you guys to Let the Healing Begin tonight for another
- 5:19Speaker 3: episode of Let the Healing Begin. We are your hosts,
- 5:23Speaker 3: Lee and Kimberly Thomas, and we are here tonight to
- 5:27Speaker 3: Let the Healing Begin. We do not claim to have
- 5:31Speaker 3: the monopoly on this thing called marriage, nor do we
- 5:34Speaker 3: claim to have mastered this thing called marriage. But what
- 5:39Speaker 3: we do have is a marriage. We have many years
- 5:44Speaker 3: under our belt. We are grateful that not only do
- 5:47Speaker 3: we have the years we have experienced, we have a marriage,
- 5:50Speaker 3: but most of all, we have a mandate. We have
- 5:53Speaker 3: a mandate from God to come. and be live with
- 5:58Speaker 3: you and invite you guys into this journey, this journey
- 6:03Speaker 3: called marriage. And so we are here tonight for Let
- 6:06Speaker 3: the Healing Begin. We have another very hot topic. We
- 6:10Speaker 3: think that this hot, we think this topic that we're
- 6:13Speaker 3: going to talk about tonight is very important and it
- 6:16Speaker 3: is a hot topic for those that are in marriages
- 6:20Speaker 3: and even maybe some that are kind of thinking about marriage.
- 6:25Speaker 3: These are some things that You should consider before saying
- 6:30Speaker 3: I do. And if you have already said I do,
- 6:33Speaker 3: maybe you need to go back and take an inventory
- 6:36Speaker 3: and just see where you stand and what is really
- 6:41Speaker 3: going on in your life. Because sometimes, you know, marriage,
- 6:44Speaker 3: it doesn't seem like, you know, it's good for us
- 6:48Speaker 3: after we get into it. But you know what? Marriage
- 6:51Speaker 3: is not perfect. But healing is. Healing is available. So
- 6:55Speaker 3: we're going to get into this thing tonight. We're going
- 6:57Speaker 3: to get into it. And our topic tonight that we're
- 7:00Speaker 3: going to start with is healing begins where honesty lives. Uh-huh. Yeah,
- 7:10Speaker 3: you heard me. Healing begins where honesty lives. Where honesty lives.
- 7:17Speaker 3: And see, I'm a person, I love definitions because I
- 7:21Speaker 3: don't want us to have no misunderstanding of I want
- 7:24Speaker 3: us to make sure that we have a clear understanding
- 7:28Speaker 3: and we know what we're talking about here tonight. So
- 7:32Speaker 3: healing begins where honesty lives. And so let me break
- 7:37Speaker 3: it down for you. Honesty. Honesty is defined as the
- 7:42Speaker 3: quality of being truthful, being truthful, being upright and free. F-R-E-E. Capital. F-R-E-E.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Free.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Free from deceit. Free from fraud. Yeah, fraud. Because some
- 8:03Speaker 3: of us, we are committing some fraud in our marriages.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And we're going to talk about that. Free from lying. Oh, Jesus.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Free from lying in your own words and deeds.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 8:20Speaker 3: So, healing begins where? there is truth, uprightness, free from deceit,
- 8:32Speaker 3: free from fraud, and lying in your own words and deeds.
- 8:38Speaker 3: So if these things live in your house, you're not honest.
- 8:46Speaker 3: So when you are honest, you're free from all of
- 8:49Speaker 3: this stuff. So we're going to talk about this tonight.
- 8:52Speaker 3: We're going to talk about where honesty lives because when
- 8:57Speaker 3: honesty lives in a place healing also resides yes.
- 9:03Speaker 5: It resides but the thing of it is you if
- 9:07Speaker 5: you're honest you don't have to worry about healing see
- 9:11Speaker 5: that's the thing and are you honest with yourself Because
- 9:17Speaker 5: most of the time when you get in a relationship
- 9:20Speaker 5: with someone that you see, most of the time it's
- 9:23Speaker 5: a fantasy. You know, like, whoa, he or she is
- 9:27Speaker 5: that perfect someone that hits every bar that you're looking for.
- 9:33Speaker 5: And then sometimes because we don't know who we are,
- 9:38Speaker 5: we try to raise our own bar because we're not
- 9:40Speaker 5: confident in who we are.
- 9:44Speaker 1: But what I see, I desire. And that's what I want.
- 9:47Speaker 5: So I'm going to try to put on this facade
- 9:50Speaker 5: that I'm this and a bag of chips instead of just.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Being who you are.
- 9:55Speaker 5: And once you get into the relationship, everything that you portray.
- 10:00Speaker 5: you can't do anymore because one thing I do know
- 10:04Speaker 5: and I say it all the time statistics tell you
- 10:07Speaker 5: a lot of things but the thing about statistics that
- 10:10Speaker 5: I don't like is they everybody can read statistics so
- 10:14Speaker 5: therefore they know how to play the game and my
- 10:17Speaker 5: thing is when is my turn? You seen what it
- 10:22Speaker 5: was and you felt like you could change the individual
- 10:27Speaker 5: and I got this, I can do this, but they
- 10:31Speaker 5: are who you saw. But the thing of it is,
- 10:35Speaker 5: we're not even talking about them right now. We talking
- 10:37Speaker 5: about you because you, you have a part in that.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Did you let them see the real you? You know
- 10:43Speaker 5: how I be. Uh, Some of you have these hairstyles
- 10:48Speaker 5: and this is my hair. And then all of a
- 10:50Speaker 5: sudden I pop up and you're not looking for me.
- 10:53Speaker 5: And then you open the door and oh my God,
- 10:55Speaker 5: you slam the door. And I'm like, oh my, who
- 10:57Speaker 5: is that? Matter of fact, what is that? And the
- 11:01Speaker 5: thing of it is, I used to tell you like
- 11:04Speaker 5: it is because with me, what you see is what
- 11:07Speaker 5: you get. I want to see the whole you. So
- 11:11Speaker 5: if you're not confident or happy with who you are,
- 11:14Speaker 5: then how can you be happy with somebody else or
- 11:17Speaker 5: even try to make them happy because they fell in
- 11:19Speaker 5: love with this made-up person?
- 11:24Speaker 1: Tell the whole truth.
- 11:26Speaker 5: You know, and I have no problem with you putting
- 11:28Speaker 5: on a wig and all that because some of them
- 11:29Speaker 5: look good with the wig, some of them with the
- 11:32Speaker 5: micros and all that.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They look good. But let me know who you are.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Let's sit down and have a conversation.
- 11:42Speaker 5: So I can know who I am But most of all,
- 11:45Speaker 5: you need to know who you are. See, when I
- 11:48Speaker 5: see you, then I know whether or not I want
- 11:50Speaker 5: to be attached to this.
- 11:52Speaker 1: But even further than that, did you even ask God
- 11:58Speaker 1: about that situation?
- 11:59Speaker 5: Because like I say, you're looking at that fantasy and
- 12:01Speaker 5: all you're thinking about, oh man, that's me right there.
- 12:05Speaker 5: That's what I'm talking about. Okay, fine figure and all that. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 5: that's it. But what's happening up here?
- 12:15Speaker 3: That's a good question. It's a good question. But, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 3: you said something that kind of piqued my interest a
- 12:26Speaker 3: little bit.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Well, let's see.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Raising a bar or setting a standard. Because so many
- 12:34Speaker 3: times we have this fantasy. You know, we have this
- 12:39Speaker 3: fairytale life that we want to live. And it's not
- 12:44Speaker 3: always our reality. We, you know, for a lot of ladies,
- 12:49Speaker 3: for a lot of ladies growing up, you know, you
- 12:51Speaker 3: watch all these things on television and you see other
- 12:55Speaker 3: people that you would like to emulate their life because
- 12:59Speaker 3: you think their life is a fairy tale story. Like
- 13:03Speaker 3: it is ideal. This is, I want my marriage to
- 13:05Speaker 3: look just like that. I want my marriage to be
- 13:08Speaker 3: just like that. But what you don't realize is a
- 13:12Speaker 3: lot of people have masks and they mask, they mask
- 13:17Speaker 3: up for the public. So, We may have been in
- 13:22Speaker 3: the house fighting like cats and dogs. We beyond the
- 13:26Speaker 3: heated fellowship at this point. We throwing blows. We looking
- 13:30Speaker 3: like Ike and Tina. And then we got to kind
- 13:33Speaker 3: of clean it up and dress it up and tuck
- 13:35Speaker 3: it up and pin it up. And we're going to
- 13:37Speaker 3: hook our arms together. And we're going to step out
- 13:40Speaker 3: with our backs arched. And we're going to step in
- 13:42Speaker 3: stride in cadence with one another. And we're going to
- 13:47Speaker 3: be smiling. And we're going to put on the best
- 13:49Speaker 3: show possible. Because that's really what it is. The best
- 13:53Speaker 3: show for the public. And so people look at that
- 13:56Speaker 3: and they're like, oh, they always look so happy. They
- 14:00Speaker 3: always seem to have everything together. But a lot of
- 14:04Speaker 3: times people that you see that are standing erect, their
- 14:09Speaker 3: lives are a wreck. Their lives are a total wreck.
- 14:13Speaker 3: And so when we don't verbalize What we're really feeling
- 14:19Speaker 3: when we can't be honest about where we really are
- 14:22Speaker 3: in relationships, in marriage, in our personal self-esteem journeys, because
- 14:28Speaker 3: so many people, they lose the battle because they are
- 14:32Speaker 3: fighting within themselves. And they can't be honest about that.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Your husband said, oh, girl, you beautiful, you fine, you sexy,
- 14:40Speaker 3: you this, you that. But then when you look at yourself,
- 14:43Speaker 3: you don't feel any of that. And so you begin
- 14:46Speaker 3: to tell him, no, I'm not. Oh, I'm ugly. Oh,
- 14:49Speaker 3: I'm fat. Oh, I'm this. Oh, I'm that. And so
- 14:52Speaker 3: when he stops making the comments or he said, well, yeah, yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 3: you are. You know, then your feelings are hurt. But
- 15:01Speaker 3: you can't really, you can't accept that. What he's saying,
- 15:09Speaker 3: because you're not being honest in all of your actions
- 15:16Speaker 3: and your words.
- 15:17Speaker 5: But see, the thing about that is right there. If
- 15:20Speaker 5: you allow yourself and your mindset to be, I'm ugly,
- 15:26Speaker 5: then ugly resides there. If you have your mindset to
- 15:29Speaker 5: say that I'm not able or equipped to do this,
- 15:33Speaker 5: then it resides there. If you say that I'm not worthy,
- 15:38Speaker 5: it resides there in your mind. And that's all you're
- 15:40Speaker 5: going to ever see. So at that point, you won't
- 15:43Speaker 5: have a relationship because you're allowing yourself to not trust
- 15:47Speaker 5: yourself because you don't like what you see.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Do something about it then. Because here's the thing.
- 15:54Speaker 5: A lot of people lose their self-confidence because as long
- 16:00Speaker 5: as I'm on this page, I'm good. And I've been
- 16:05Speaker 5: running this race for a while, and I'm good. But
- 16:07Speaker 5: the moment I step out of my lane or into
- 16:10Speaker 5: another realm, and I see somebody that dresses a little
- 16:13Speaker 5: bit better, so I think, because you don't know what
- 16:17Speaker 5: they think about you. They speak a little more eloquent
- 16:22Speaker 5: to you. So your mindset tells you that I'm not
- 16:26Speaker 5: where they are. Newsflash, none of us are the same.
- 16:31Speaker 5: If you be who you're supposed to be and who
- 16:34Speaker 5: you choose to be, you're fine. But you got to
- 16:38Speaker 5: know who you are. Don't allow self-doubt, self-pity, self-shame to
- 16:43Speaker 5: reside in your mind. God said he made everything good
- 16:47Speaker 5: and very good.
- 16:48Speaker 1: So what's wrong with your mindset? Simple.
- 16:53Speaker 5: We have two things going on. We have God's permissive will.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Then we have God's perfect will. I would like to
- 17:01Speaker 5: reside always in his perfect will. Because in his permissive will,
- 17:06Speaker 5: I don't even know how I think about myself because
- 17:08Speaker 5: I choose to be that person because I feel like
- 17:12Speaker 5: this person over here has more to offer and they
- 17:14Speaker 5: have the lifestyle that I choose to have. What happens is, y'all,
- 17:18Speaker 5: I want you to know this for real. Nothing comes
- 17:22Speaker 5: without a cost. It's got to cost you something in
- 17:27Speaker 5: order for you to value what you have. You got
- 17:30Speaker 5: to build it. Nothing comes without a price. Now, the
- 17:38Speaker 5: price of having success and being successful, you got to
- 17:42Speaker 5: turn your plate down, literally. Sometimes you got to eat
- 17:46Speaker 5: the same thing for two or three weeks because I
- 17:48Speaker 5: know this is what we can afford because we're trying
- 17:50Speaker 5: to get that. But are you willing to do this
- 17:53Speaker 5: to get where you choose to be? See, because ultimately
- 17:56Speaker 5: you put your mindset where you want it to be.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Because you was good until you saw that.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:02Speaker 3: And so that's good. The mindset. You know, because so
- 18:06Speaker 3: many times we fail to even think or be honest
- 18:10Speaker 3: with ourselves and accept who we are, who we have
- 18:14Speaker 3: been created to be. And we forget that we're unique. Yes.
- 18:20Speaker 3: We're unique. So time is too short for us. to
- 18:24Speaker 3: try to live somebody else's life. We got to continue
- 18:28Speaker 3: to walk in our uniqueness. And the thing about it
- 18:32Speaker 3: is being honest. We build so many marriages and so
- 18:36Speaker 3: many relationships are built on lies. They're built on lies
- 18:42Speaker 3: based on the words that came out of your mouth.
- 18:46Speaker 3: They're built on those lies. And many times people say, well, no,
- 18:50Speaker 3: you know, um, I didn't lie. I just didn't divulge that.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Or I just didn't say that. Well, omission is also
- 19:02Speaker 3: a lie.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yes.
- 19:04Speaker 3: It's also a lie, especially when you know that, you know,
- 19:08Speaker 3: you're in the midst of talking. And a lot of
- 19:10Speaker 3: times people talk about, you know, well, we got together
- 19:14Speaker 3: and we talked about it. And, you know, he wanted
- 19:17Speaker 3: to ask me about, you know, my past or, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 3: she asked me about my past. And I just didn't
- 19:25Speaker 3: tell everything. So you lied. You lied. And one thing
- 19:32Speaker 3: about lies, you have to keep lying because there's no
- 19:36Speaker 3: such thing as, oh, well, you know, it was just
- 19:41Speaker 3: a secret or it was the past or, you know,
- 19:43Speaker 3: I just, I forgot to tell you about that because
- 19:46Speaker 3: one thing that will happen when you tell a lie,
- 19:50Speaker 3: the truth shows up. And so when you and your
- 19:53Speaker 3: spouse and the truth are standing in the same room,
- 19:58Speaker 3: eyes don't lie, body language don't lie, your heart don't
- 20:04Speaker 3: lie because your heart about to pump up out your
- 20:07Speaker 3: chest because the truth is over here. And your husband
- 20:10Speaker 3: is over here, but your husband don't know about the truth.
- 20:13Speaker 3: So you trying to, you don't know what to do
- 20:16Speaker 3: with yourself. You can't be still. You move in all
- 20:19Speaker 3: kind of ways. And every time you can sneak a peek,
- 20:22Speaker 3: you sneak in a peek. And he's like, what? Oh, nothing. What?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Oh, nothing.
- 20:35Speaker 3: You can't fake it. You can't fake it. That's why
- 20:39Speaker 3: it's so much easier to tell the truth. Because if
- 20:45Speaker 3: you don't tell the truth and you in this place
- 20:48Speaker 3: and the truth shows up, your truth is going to
- 20:52Speaker 3: show up. And sometimes the truth don't have no cool.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Sometimes the truth don't have no filter. Sometimes the truth
- 21:02Speaker 3: don't have no shame. Sometimes the truth will just come
- 21:06Speaker 3: up and be like, oh, hey, beautiful.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I haven't seen you in a while. What's going on
- 21:11Speaker 1: with you?
- 21:12Speaker 5: And the significant other going to be like, well, who
- 21:16Speaker 5: is that?
- 21:18Speaker 1: And he talked to you. It's like he didn't know
- 21:19Speaker 1: you for a minute. Hey, bro, what's your name? How
- 21:23Speaker 1: you know her? Right. Oh, man, I've been friends for
- 21:26Speaker 1: a minute. You said you didn't know.
- 21:29Speaker 5: Now you got a whole thing going on.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Right. Because of your words. Your words.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Lack thereof.
- 21:35Speaker 3: This is the thing that you have to understand. People
- 21:39Speaker 3: talk about, well, you know, the past is the past. Yeah,
- 21:41Speaker 3: the past is the past. But everybody does not leave
- 21:44Speaker 3: the past in the past. And sometimes your past will
- 21:48Speaker 3: affect your present and your future if you don't deal
- 21:53Speaker 3: with it. If you don't deal with it, then it
- 21:56Speaker 3: can come back. And see about you. It can come
- 22:00Speaker 3: back and knock on the door and check you because
- 22:03Speaker 3: some of the things that we have gone through in
- 22:05Speaker 3: the past have left doors open. They have left portals open.
- 22:09Speaker 3: They have left gates open in our life. And you
- 22:13Speaker 3: don't understand that there are some things that happen that
- 22:18Speaker 3: trigger other things. They trigger your action, your reaction. They
- 22:21Speaker 3: trigger your emotions. They trigger all these things. And your
- 22:26Speaker 3: husband or your wife, they don't realize that. Because you
- 22:29Speaker 3: never said anything. So now you're on the verge of
- 22:32Speaker 3: a divorce because you weren't honest.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Well, see, the thing about honesty is you got to realize.
- 22:41Speaker 5: Some people, the way they was raised, you know, in
- 22:47Speaker 5: their household, they seen a lot of things that damaged
- 22:52Speaker 5: them because it was good for them.
- 22:56Speaker 1: So it's working for me. But it's not working for you.
- 23:00Speaker 1: But mama did it. Daddy did it.
- 23:03Speaker 5: Right.
- 23:04Speaker 1: But you don't have to do it.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 23:06Speaker 5: You know, this tonight is about you and what you
- 23:11Speaker 5: want and what you're worthy of having.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:15Speaker 5: And that's everything. The world and everything that's in it,
- 23:20Speaker 5: you can have it. If you're willing to work for it.
- 23:23Speaker 5: But in order to receive it. You have to first
- 23:25Speaker 5: tell the whole truth to yourself. Be true but to
- 23:28Speaker 5: thyself be true.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Don't lie to you. You know what you don't like.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You know what you don't want. And you know just
- 23:34Speaker 1: getting with this one or that one.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Because you know what. They money long. They got a
- 23:38Speaker 5: nice place. They got a nice car. And they like me.
- 23:42Speaker 5: So I'm going to ride this train for a minute.
- 23:44Speaker 5: Until I get on my feet. Now you're playing with
- 23:47Speaker 5: people's emotions. And now they all in.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And you.
- 23:50Speaker 5: 20% but you know and then they want to get
- 23:54Speaker 5: up on you wait I'm good no no no so
- 23:59Speaker 5: you still lying yeah and then you wonder why people
- 24:03Speaker 5: act so crazy with you because here's the thing some
- 24:07Speaker 5: people even though they don't even live what you call
- 24:09Speaker 5: live a lie because I know you don't like me
- 24:13Speaker 5: but I like you and I'm willing to do whatever
- 24:15Speaker 5: and hope that you will come around to me But
- 24:21Speaker 5: you know, when you know anything, 36.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Months done went by, which is three years.
- 24:26Speaker 5: And now, all of a sudden, you really don't look
- 24:28Speaker 5: so good to me no more. Because you really ain't
- 24:32Speaker 5: coming this way. I've been doing everything I can do
- 24:35Speaker 5: to pull you to me. And the more I do,
- 24:38Speaker 5: the less you come. The more I say, the less
- 24:42Speaker 5: you do. The more I bring, the less you want.
- 24:47Speaker 5: And here's the thing, from me.
- 24:50Speaker 1: From me.
- 24:51Speaker 3: And that's the thing. That's the important part of it.
- 24:56Speaker 3: We have to stop lying to ourselves. So many people.
- 25:01Speaker 3: have gotten in relationships and marriages because of convenience, because
- 25:06Speaker 3: of the long money, because he can provide this, because
- 25:10Speaker 3: I saw this, because of what's on the inside of
- 25:14Speaker 3: me that I'm not honest about because I got doors
- 25:17Speaker 3: that are open from my past. And so now that
- 25:22Speaker 3: Even though some people are married and they're still not
- 25:26Speaker 3: satisfied or happy and they're stepping outside of their marriages
- 25:30Speaker 3: because they won't be honest. They haven't been honest. Okay,
- 25:34Speaker 3: I married you out of convenience. I married you because
- 25:37Speaker 3: your money was long. And when your money was long,
- 25:41Speaker 3: it was long. But now your money ain't that long.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Your money a little short. And so you don't have
- 25:47Speaker 3: the super stacks. You got the small stacks. You know,
- 25:54Speaker 3: now it's not looking that good to me because of
- 25:58Speaker 3: the reason why I got into this. I didn't get
- 26:01Speaker 3: in it because I loved you. I loved what you had.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I love what you were able to provide. I love
- 26:08Speaker 3: what you did. And so now that I'm in this...
- 26:12Speaker 3: and you done went down to the small stacks, and
- 26:15Speaker 3: I'm looking like, oh, no, this not working for me,
- 26:18Speaker 3: because now I'm not where I once was, and so
- 26:22Speaker 3: I'm not willing to even try to be the helpmate.
- 26:27Speaker 3: I'm going to help myself to somebody else with some
- 26:29Speaker 3: long money. I'm going to help myself up out of this,
- 26:32Speaker 3: and so this is what a lot of people are doing,
- 26:35Speaker 3: because you got married for the wrong reason, and when...
- 26:39Speaker 3: Situations change. When life started lifing, you decided to start stepping.
- 26:47Speaker 3: And so now that you are stepping and you stepping
- 26:50Speaker 3: and stepping and stepping, now you way out here. You
- 26:54Speaker 3: way out here. You come home every night. But you're
- 26:58Speaker 3: physically there. But your mind is on the other side
- 27:02Speaker 3: of town. Your mind is over here with the money.
- 27:05Speaker 3: And you're thinking about this thing real hard and long
- 27:09Speaker 3: and strong. And it's because you did not start it
- 27:13Speaker 3: the right way. It's because you lied. And just like
- 27:16Speaker 3: Lee said, you played with people's emotions. And now... that
- 27:20Speaker 3: you're in this, you are afraid to just be honest about, hey,
- 27:26Speaker 3: you know, this is what it was. This is where
- 27:29Speaker 3: I am right now. And so if it's any love there,
- 27:33Speaker 3: because nine times out of ten, the love was for
- 27:37Speaker 3: what was being presented. The love was for what they
- 27:40Speaker 3: were able to do or how they made you feel.
- 27:43Speaker 3: And if they can't do that no more, you just like, uh-uh.
- 27:46Speaker 3: You know, I'm done.
- 27:47Speaker 1: It wasn't even love. It was infatuation with what you saw.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 1: See? Yeah. I'm infatuated with the money. I'm infatuated with
- 27:55Speaker 1: the gifts. I'm infatuated with the home. I'm infatuated with
- 27:59Speaker 1: the lifestyle. When you should have been infatuated with yourself.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:06Speaker 1: See, that's the thing.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You should have been infatuated with yourself. Yeah. See.
- 28:11Speaker 5: We have an uncanny ability of not knowing who we
- 28:15Speaker 5: are and truly what we want. Stop wanting somebody to
- 28:20Speaker 5: give you something. Bring something to the table yourself.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:25Speaker 5: Because one thing about it, if I'm bringing something and
- 28:28Speaker 5: you're bringing something, we have something. See, because a lot
- 28:31Speaker 5: of times you have men that's down. You have women
- 28:36Speaker 5: that haven't been treated right. Now, you let a man
- 28:39Speaker 5: that's been down struggling to get up and he's a
- 28:43Speaker 5: fighter and you got a woman that's been abused not
- 28:46Speaker 5: loved correctly and they get together they become what you call.
- 28:51Speaker 1: A power couple and when they become that power couple.
- 28:54Speaker 5: They realize you know i'm bringing something you bring us
- 28:56Speaker 5: up and we digging up out this hole together and
- 28:59Speaker 5: then when i can't get it by myself we become
- 29:02Speaker 5: one and when we become one Now we're really moving
- 29:06Speaker 5: because this is the way it was supposed to be.
- 29:09Speaker 5: But in the midst of that, you told the whole
- 29:11Speaker 5: truth because, you know, I didn't have no reason to lie.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I had nothing to do with it.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I had nothing to do with it.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 29:18Speaker 1: So what I got, I'm willing. You know, and I'm
- 29:20Speaker 1: willing to share what I have.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Let's do it this way.
- 29:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 1: But before all that, you still got to be honest
- 29:29Speaker 1: with yourself.
- 29:29Speaker 5: How many times have you put on a mask to
- 29:31Speaker 5: go hang out with your friends? Because, you know, you
- 29:34Speaker 5: got A little extra hours this week. So I got
- 29:37Speaker 5: an extra $ 80 that I can really do something with.
- 29:39Speaker 5: and they go into whatever this restaurant is oh okay
- 29:42Speaker 5: I'll come you go and put your Sunday best on
- 29:45Speaker 5: boy now you that your head high and then when
- 29:48Speaker 5: you go in there the first thing you do and
- 29:51Speaker 5: when they slide you that menu you look down there
- 29:56Speaker 5: whoa and then They having their little party favors. And
- 30:02Speaker 5: you thinking, man, if I buy that, I can't get
- 30:05Speaker 5: but one of them over there. And now you feeling
- 30:08Speaker 5: out of place. And see, me, I'm one of them
- 30:11Speaker 5: kind of guys. I go, and I know what my
- 30:14Speaker 5: money was like. And I look, hey, what's the special?
- 30:19Speaker 5: Straight up, what's the special? And then sometimes people look
- 30:23Speaker 5: at me like I was crazy. You hear talking about
- 30:25Speaker 5: the special? I got special money, so I need to
- 30:27Speaker 5: know what the special is.
- 30:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 30:29Speaker 5: You know, because that's going to tell me whether or
- 30:32Speaker 5: not Lee's going to stay here or not. See, I
- 30:34Speaker 5: don't have no problem with what God allowed me to have. See,
- 30:39Speaker 5: when I'm confident in what I have and I be
- 30:44Speaker 5: a good steward over that, that's when he's going to
- 30:48Speaker 5: give me even more. See, because that's that first portal
- 30:52Speaker 5: that's open of being shamed.
- 30:54Speaker 1: You ain't going to ask about the special? I know
- 30:58Speaker 1: they got one. You mean to tell me I can't
- 31:02Speaker 1: get a $ 15 or $ 20 hamburger?
- 31:03Speaker 5: I got to buy that $ 40 one? Well, I tell
- 31:05Speaker 5: y'all what. I'll be back in 20 minutes. I'm going
- 31:08Speaker 5: to run down and get that, and I'll be back.
- 31:10Speaker 5: Because that's not me. But then why would you put
- 31:14Speaker 5: yourself in that situation and lie to yourself?
- 31:18Speaker 1: Now, you go home thinking about, man, I worked them
- 31:21Speaker 1: extra hours.
- 31:21Speaker 5: I could have kept my $ 80. I just throw it,
- 31:24Speaker 5: and then it's, next time. I ain't going to do that.
- 31:27Speaker 5: But who said you're going to get it next time?
- 31:29Speaker 3: Right. And see, that's where the fraud comes in. That's
- 31:33Speaker 3: where the fraud even comes in in our marriage. When
- 31:36Speaker 3: we're trying to do stuff that is above our means.
- 31:40Speaker 3: If we don't have it, we just don't have it.
- 31:42Speaker 3: If we don't have it, we don't have it. And
- 31:45Speaker 3: that's one of the things, one of the principles that
- 31:48Speaker 3: we live by. And this is so funny because when
- 31:52Speaker 3: we started out, we started out... The first time we
- 31:57Speaker 3: started out, we started out.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Him just coming. Just it.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Here I am, nothing.
- 32:08Speaker 3: With nothing. And then God gave us some time apart.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 3: And when we came back together, we still had nothing.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Yes, we did. We had two nickels.
- 32:24Speaker 3: We had two nickels. And so the thing is, you know,
- 32:27Speaker 3: we can appreciate what God has done for us in
- 32:31Speaker 3: this moment. But one thing that people don't realize is
- 32:35Speaker 3: it was built on love. It wasn't built on what
- 32:39Speaker 3: he had because when he came, he didn't have nothing.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Zero.
- 32:43Speaker 3: He didn't have anything.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Well, yes.
- 32:45Speaker 3: I had me.
- 32:46Speaker 4: You.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I had me. That's it. I had me.
- 32:50Speaker 3: We had to build. We had to build. When we
- 32:53Speaker 3: came back. I had a weekend's worth of clothes. We
- 32:58Speaker 3: had a house with an echo.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 3: We had a drafting board for our TV set. And
- 33:09Speaker 3: if anybody realizes the little 10-inch TVs that they used
- 33:13Speaker 3: to have, you know, most of them were black and white.
- 33:17Speaker 3: We were fortunate enough to have a 10-inch TV. color
- 33:20Speaker 3: TV with a big drafting board for it to sit on.
- 33:24Speaker 3: We sat it in the middle of the drafting board
- 33:27Speaker 3: and we were content. We were happy with what we had.
- 33:31Speaker 3: And so as God began to build our life, we
- 33:36Speaker 3: really had to be honest. We had to be honest.
- 33:39Speaker 1: About the situation.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Look, this is where we are. We both had things
- 33:43Speaker 3: that God had given us that we lost. We lost.
- 33:49Speaker 3: I walked away from stuff. He walked away from stuff.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Stuff was taken. Yes. So it had to be love.
- 34:00Speaker 3: And one thing about it, you had to be honest
- 34:02Speaker 3: about where you were. We had to be honest about
- 34:06Speaker 3: where we were at that moment. There were times when,
- 34:09Speaker 3: you know, I was just like, you know, I don't know.
- 34:13Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know what to do. I
- 34:15Speaker 3: don't know what's happening. I don't know. And so you
- 34:18Speaker 3: have to be honest about that. You have to be
- 34:21Speaker 3: honest with yourself. You can't be running around lying and
- 34:25Speaker 3: you can't lie to the person that you're with. Because
- 34:29Speaker 3: when it's built on a foundation of love, one thing
- 34:32Speaker 3: about love, love conquers. Love conquers. And you can go
- 34:37Speaker 3: through all adversity. And when I say all adversity, believe me,
- 34:41Speaker 3: all adversity. Because we have had some adversity. We have
- 34:47Speaker 3: had a whole lot of adversity. And we still have
- 34:51Speaker 3: things that come up in our marriage. But the thing
- 34:54Speaker 3: that we have to really be honest about, you know,
- 34:59Speaker 3: and I've said this before, I don't have a problem
- 35:04Speaker 3: with His baby's mama's. He don't have a problem with
- 35:09Speaker 3: my exes. He don't have a problem and I don't
- 35:12Speaker 3: have a problem. You know why? Because we're grown. Because
- 35:15Speaker 3: we're mature. Because this is my husband. I am his wife.
- 35:21Speaker 3: So it does not matter. You know, it's funny because
- 35:25Speaker 3: sometimes he'll get phone calls that really are... make no sense.
- 35:31Speaker 3: They really make no sense because all of our children
- 35:35Speaker 3: are adults. And I mean, they're, they're very much grown.
- 35:38Speaker 3: And some of them have children. Most of them have
- 35:42Speaker 3: a spouse or a significant other. They are very, very,
- 35:45Speaker 3: very grown. All of them over 21. So when he
- 35:52Speaker 3: gets a call talking about, Oh, you know, your children,
- 35:56Speaker 3: this and your children, that we got grown people. We
- 36:00Speaker 3: don't have children. And so, you know, and it's little
- 36:03Speaker 3: silly stuff. Stuff about the kids when they were kids' kids.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Head kids. You know, these are kids. These are grown
- 36:11Speaker 3: people with kids. And so I laugh. We have an
- 36:14Speaker 3: inside joke. I said, oh, oh, they called today? Really?
- 36:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I said, child, she just need her fix. And I
- 36:22Speaker 3: just keep it moving. Because it's just, it's funny to me.
- 36:27Speaker 3: It's funny to me because... I don't have a problem
- 36:30Speaker 3: with it. Call all you want to. It don't matter.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I know every time you call, I know what you
- 36:35Speaker 3: talk about. It doesn't matter. And see, that's where you
- 36:37Speaker 3: have to get to in a marriage. It's the same
- 36:40Speaker 3: thing with me. If I talk to somebody from my past,
- 36:43Speaker 3: I'm always honest about it. You know what? I talked
- 36:46Speaker 3: to so-and-so today. Or I reached out to so-and-so today.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I have somebody that I reached out to that... We
- 36:54Speaker 3: wanted them to help assist us in moving some things
- 36:59Speaker 3: for our son. So I said, hey, you know, I'm
- 37:02Speaker 3: going to call so-and-so-and-so, and this is what we're going
- 37:05Speaker 3: to talk about, blah, blah, blah. Okay, I made the call.
- 37:08Speaker 3: This was the conversation. They're doing X, Y, and Z.
- 37:11Speaker 3: And that was the extent of it. Because you know why?
- 37:14Speaker 3: We don't have anything to hide. Because I'm not talking
- 37:16Speaker 3: about anything that I can't talk to them about in
- 37:21Speaker 3: front of him. And so it's the same thing. You know,
- 37:24Speaker 3: when you have that kind of relationship and you can
- 37:27Speaker 3: be honest, then you don't have any issues. You can
- 37:29Speaker 3: stand and do all kinds of stuff. I had somebody
- 37:33Speaker 3: from his way, way, way past. And you know, most
- 37:36Speaker 3: of you know that we are preachers. And We were
- 37:40Speaker 3: having a women's conference. And this person was so silly
- 37:46Speaker 3: that they actually had the nerve to tell him that
- 37:50Speaker 3: they were coming. But they had to get their fix
- 37:54Speaker 3: before they came to the church.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Not with me, no.
- 37:57Speaker 3: No, not with him. Not with him. Not with somebody else.
- 38:02Speaker 3: But before they came to the church. They had to
- 38:05Speaker 3: get their fix because they didn't want to come to
- 38:07Speaker 3: the church to the women's conference that our church was hosting,
- 38:12Speaker 3: me being the host of this, and fall out and
- 38:17Speaker 3: let their phone fall on the floor and his number
- 38:19Speaker 3: be in their phone. And I started laughing. I said,
- 38:22Speaker 3: you know what? I said, she real silly. I said,
- 38:24Speaker 3: because the kind of church that we have, baby, we
- 38:28Speaker 3: would have thought she had got slain in the spirit,
- 38:30Speaker 3: throw the sheet on her and kept it moving. We
- 38:32Speaker 3: don't even, you know, and this is stuff that we
- 38:35Speaker 3: laugh about. And we can laugh about it because we grown.
- 38:38Speaker 3: We can laugh about it because honesty lives in our house.
- 38:42Speaker 3: We haven't always been here. We had to get to
- 38:46Speaker 3: this place. So we had to allow honesty to live
- 38:49Speaker 3: in our house so that we could heal. But, baby,
- 38:52Speaker 3: the stuff that happens, it be hilarious. And that was
- 38:55Speaker 3: really hilarious to me. I said, because, you know, the
- 38:58Speaker 3: way that we move in the spirit and the way
- 39:01Speaker 3: that the Lord visits our house. I said, the thing
- 39:04Speaker 3: about it, baby, if she would have did that. Let
- 39:07Speaker 3: me tell you, them women that was in there, that
- 39:11Speaker 3: was on the panel, that was speaking, baby, we would
- 39:13Speaker 3: have thought you was slaying in the spirit. We would
- 39:15Speaker 3: have thrown that sheet and we would have kept it moving.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Nobody would have been stunned. You, a telephone, and nothing else.
- 39:21Speaker 3: So you would have just wasted all that energy. You
- 39:23Speaker 3: would have had the devil make you look like a
- 39:25Speaker 3: wholesome nothing. But grow. Grow up. Don't be a fraud
- 39:30Speaker 3: in your relationship. If you can't handle stuff like that,
- 39:33Speaker 3: be honest with your mate. You can't handle it.
- 39:36Speaker 5: Simple as that. And see, the thing about that is,
- 39:39Speaker 5: even in that, you have to let yesterday be yesterday. Yes.
- 39:44Speaker 1: See, and if you're over 12 and past 21, Jesus
- 39:47Speaker 1: was grown at 12. The government said you're grown at 21.
- 39:52Speaker 1: So if you're over 12 and past 21, you're an adult.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Handle your business. That. As an adult.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 40:00Speaker 5: You know, and when you start adulting, you know, and
- 40:04Speaker 5: saying that I'm grown.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:06Speaker 5: Make sure you have your own. Because most relationships, I'm
- 40:10Speaker 5: trying to get out of this to get to that.
- 40:12Speaker 5: So I'm going to move in with you. Move in
- 40:14Speaker 5: with yourself. Right.
- 40:16Speaker 1: To see what it's like to pay a bill. Yeah.
- 40:18Speaker 1: A light bill, a rent. You know, car note. See?
- 40:23Speaker 5: Learn to love you enough to where I don't see
- 40:25Speaker 5: that right now. Yesterday is just that. It was yesterday.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Yesterday. Yesterday.
- 40:32Speaker 1: See?
- 40:33Speaker 3: Yesterday.
- 40:34Speaker 5: God was faithful enough to give you a present, which
- 40:38Speaker 5: is the present time.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Right now. Yeah.
- 40:42Speaker 5: And he gave you a past. And it's back there
- 40:45Speaker 5: for a reason. Because you're supposed to grow. You're supposed
- 40:49Speaker 5: to be catapulted to the next level. When you get
- 40:53Speaker 5: in those type of situations where you can't understand what's
- 40:55Speaker 5: going on and you're all hyped up and mad about
- 40:57Speaker 5: something that you have no control of, you have just
- 41:00Speaker 5: given the enemy power over you. Because when an individual
- 41:06Speaker 5: knows that they can get under your skin because I
- 41:08Speaker 5: made a phone call, oh, I'm going to play with
- 41:10Speaker 5: you because you still don't know what you have.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 41:14Speaker 1: See, so you don't know where you're at in that.
- 41:16Speaker 1: So you're upset. For what?
- 41:18Speaker 5: This person come home to you every day, every night.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Y'all putting your money together. You know the check come
- 41:23Speaker 5: to the house. We right here. Why not talk about it? Listen,
- 41:27Speaker 5: and if you that way in your mind, listen, I
- 41:32Speaker 5: don't like that. That bothers me. Now, let's have a
- 41:36Speaker 5: conversation about it. Now, once we had a conversation, you
- 41:40Speaker 5: tell that other person, don't be calling my house.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Don't do this. Don't do that. Do that. Okay. It's done.
- 41:45Speaker 1: It's over with.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Although we do have some retarded people and they're going
- 41:48Speaker 5: to keep doing it anyway. But you have something called
- 41:52Speaker 5: a phone. And it also has an answer.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Machine on it.
- 41:56Speaker 5: And I'm sure you pay the bill so that means
- 41:58Speaker 5: you don't have to answer it. It can go to
- 42:00Speaker 5: the answer machine and then you can delete it.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Or you can just get a block anointing.
- 42:05Speaker 1: That's all.
- 42:06Speaker 3: I'm good with that. A block anointing. You don't know
- 42:09Speaker 3: how to stop. I know how to stop you. That's
- 42:12Speaker 3: when you want to stop them though. That's when you
- 42:14Speaker 3: want to stop them.
- 42:15Speaker 5: Yeah, because I know how to call you But the
- 42:17Speaker 5: thing of it is, we're talking about you.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Getting you right. Yes.
- 42:21Speaker 5: You know, don't look at the situation and feel like
- 42:23Speaker 5: you're stuck. I've been in this so long. I just
- 42:26Speaker 5: got to deal with it. No, you don't.
- 42:30Speaker 1: You can be happy. And you can be happy by yourself.
- 42:33Speaker 1: But we're talking about healing. Yes.
- 42:36Speaker 5: Heal from what you grew up with. Because one thing
- 42:40Speaker 5: about it, you know what it was. You know what
- 42:42Speaker 5: it turned out to be. And you know what it
- 42:45Speaker 5: can be. You can have a life and have it
- 42:47Speaker 5: more abundantly, but you can have a great life and
- 42:50Speaker 5: have abundance in that life when you know who you are.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Don't allow anybody to dictate your life to you when
- 43:00Speaker 5: you know you can have or do better. Don't dummy
- 43:03Speaker 5: yourself down to be with an individual just so you
- 43:06Speaker 5: feel like you can be comfortable. So that means you're
- 43:09Speaker 5: being unfair to yourself, so you're lying to your own self. See,
- 43:12Speaker 5: because you can do it. If you choose to.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And then don't get mad when they don't do it
- 43:19Speaker 1: and they've been doing it. Now all of a sudden
- 43:21Speaker 1: they draw the reins back a little bit. Oh, no, no, no.
- 43:24Speaker 1: You ain't doing what I say. I'm going to tighten
- 43:26Speaker 1: up this money. Okay.
- 43:28Speaker 5: Tighten up your money. That's why I got a job.
- 43:31Speaker 5: So I'm not dependent upon what you do for me.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:35Speaker 5: And when you do that, you have just given them
- 43:37Speaker 5: power and authority over you.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 43:40Speaker 5: Nobody owns nobody. When you're married, you come into what
- 43:43Speaker 5: you call an agreement or a covenant.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yes.
- 43:48Speaker 5: Now, if the covenant is what it's supposed to be,
- 43:50Speaker 5: she's supposed to be your help me. Okay, if you
- 43:53Speaker 5: don't make it and you don't have it to meet
- 43:55Speaker 5: the end, she's supposed to be there.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Not you do this, you do that. Oh, you can't
- 43:59Speaker 1: do that for me. Back to me now. This is
- 44:03Speaker 1: just me. You can't do that for me. Well, I
- 44:06Speaker 1: got one question. Can you do it for yourself? Oh,
- 44:12Speaker 1: so you can't, but you want me to. What's wrong
- 44:15Speaker 1: with you? See? No, no. Let's be fair.
- 44:19Speaker 5: But if I love you, ain't no pressure. You gonna
- 44:24Speaker 5: wake up one morning, come out there, money laying in
- 44:27Speaker 5: the sea, cause I love you. See, when it's love
- 44:31Speaker 5: in the midst, you ain't gotta ask me cause I
- 44:33Speaker 5: already see what it is. I'm gonna make sure it's
- 44:36Speaker 5: there for you. You know why? Cause I know you
- 44:39Speaker 5: gonna make sure it's there for me. But, see, I
- 44:42Speaker 5: didn't treat you no kind of way. I was fair
- 44:45Speaker 5: to you because I was fair to myself. I didn't
- 44:46Speaker 5: lie to you. In this relationship, I told her a
- 44:50Speaker 5: long time ago, you need to go on because I
- 44:52Speaker 5: ain't where you at. That peaked her interest because, you know,
- 44:57Speaker 5: this man didn't lie. I said, but I'm a good man, boy,
- 44:59Speaker 5: and I get that. I said, you know, honestly, give
- 45:02Speaker 5: me a little time. I got the bill back. But
- 45:06Speaker 5: in the midst of billing, I had to let God
- 45:09Speaker 5: lead me in that.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Him first. Then everything will be all right. It ain't
- 45:16Speaker 1: going to always be peaches and cream and all happy.
- 45:18Speaker 5: No, we human. Everybody go through. But be willing to
- 45:22Speaker 5: go through to get to what God has for you.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Some things come against you to show you who you
- 45:28Speaker 5: are and what you need to fix in yourself.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Then you can go to the next level. Don't be one-dimensional.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Be willing to listen so you can see where they
- 45:38Speaker 1: at so they can know where you at. So now
- 45:40Speaker 1: we can work this out together. We can balance these
- 45:42Speaker 1: books to get it right.
- 45:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 45:45Speaker 1: But you first got to get it right with yourself.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Yes. And that's the thing. You know, what you don't address,
- 45:50Speaker 3: you carry.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Ooh, that's it right there. What you don't address, you carry. Yes.
- 45:57Speaker 1: They don't carry it. You carry it.
- 45:59Speaker 5: You hold it back and you mad so you put
- 46:02Speaker 5: something in the storage room. And then whenever it gets
- 46:05Speaker 5: too packed, you let it blow out and then everything
- 46:07Speaker 5: gets to spilling out.
- 46:08Speaker 1: And they're looking at you cross-eyed and crazy like, where
- 46:10Speaker 1: did that come from?
- 46:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 46:12Speaker 3: We weren't even talking about that.
- 46:13Speaker 1: What you talking about?
- 46:16Speaker 3: Because we weren't there. We weren't talking about that. And
- 46:19Speaker 3: that's the thing that a lot of us, we don't realize.
- 46:23Speaker 3: What we don't address, we carry that. We carry it.
- 46:26Speaker 3: So it could be the simplest thing. If you don't
- 46:29Speaker 3: address it, you're carrying that. And it's just like a
- 46:33Speaker 3: puss bump. Sometimes you hit it and nothing happens. And
- 46:37Speaker 3: then sometimes you hit it just right and it busts
- 46:41Speaker 3: and the puss jumps out. But one thing about it,
- 46:44Speaker 3: it does not land in the same place. It goes
- 46:47Speaker 3: all over everything.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Everything.
- 46:49Speaker 3: And that's just how our life is. We so packed
- 46:52Speaker 3: up and so compact with all these things, things that
- 46:56Speaker 3: we have hidden, things that we have concealed, things that
- 47:00Speaker 3: we have buried, things that we have just tucked away,
- 47:04Speaker 3: things that we have even kept for ammunition in the future.
- 47:08Speaker 3: We allowing all this stuff to build up. And just
- 47:12Speaker 3: that right moment, you know, you done had a rough
- 47:15Speaker 3: day at work. Everything didn't happen. You didn't have a
- 47:19Speaker 3: run-in in the traffic. You didn't have this that happened
- 47:22Speaker 3: with the kids. All this stuff. And now you come
- 47:25Speaker 3: home and it's just one word. And everything explodes. You
- 47:30Speaker 3: go all the way back to 1972. And you just
- 47:35Speaker 3: let it all out. And they looking at you like,
- 47:38Speaker 3: what in the heck just happened? What are you talking about?
- 47:41Speaker 3: That happened way back in 72. Why are you talking
- 47:44Speaker 3: about that? We wasn't talking about that. I'm talking about
- 47:48Speaker 3: it because I've been carrying this. And so I've been
- 47:51Speaker 3: carrying this. And now you just hit that button. You know,
- 47:55Speaker 3: we had a running joke not long ago in a situation.
- 48:00Speaker 3: We had somebody to say to Lee, you know, it's
- 48:04Speaker 3: seven numbers on the phone. And they done dialed six
- 48:08Speaker 3: and a half. And so I'm just waiting to see
- 48:11Speaker 3: that other half because then it's just going to explode.
- 48:15Speaker 3: And so that's where we are sometimes in our marriages
- 48:18Speaker 3: and in our relationship. We done dialed six and a
- 48:21Speaker 3: half numbers. And then that day you walk in the
- 48:24Speaker 3: house and that half a digit get hit. And baby,
- 48:27Speaker 3: it's over with because now you have just slayed them
- 48:31Speaker 3: with your mouth because everything that you could think of
- 48:34Speaker 3: that they ever did that you did not like, It's
- 48:39Speaker 3: now come out. It's like you just vomited all over everything.
- 48:46Speaker 1: And then here's the whole thing. Whose fault was that?
- 48:51Speaker 3: Right. And you can't take it back.
- 48:52Speaker 1: See, it's the enemy, not the enemy as the devil,
- 48:56Speaker 1: the inner me. Yes.
- 48:59Speaker 5: You have just allowed the inner me to.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Explode and wreck or brought havoc All.
- 49:06Speaker 5: Over your relationship because you weren't woman or man enough
- 49:10Speaker 5: to say what was on your mind.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Know that a person can't be held for what they
- 49:16Speaker 1: don't know. Exactly.
- 49:17Speaker 5: How you think I'm going to be all... Into you
- 49:20Speaker 5: in this manner. Or don't do it. If you didn't
- 49:23Speaker 5: say nothing about it. Don't be sitting there. I don't
- 49:25Speaker 5: want them to get mad. I don't want them to say.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 49:30Speaker 5: I'm going to go to bed with a headache. You
- 49:31Speaker 5: laid up there chilling. Now I can't sleep half the night.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Looking at you want to say something. But I don't
- 49:36Speaker 5: want you to get mad.
- 49:37Speaker 1: You put yourself in bondage. Yes. You're grown.
- 49:40Speaker 5: Open your mouth. Say what it is. Because one thing
- 49:44Speaker 5: about it, if you don't say it, they're going to
- 49:46Speaker 5: keep doing it. If you don't address it, you carry it.
- 49:50Speaker 5: And that's your problem. And then when they tell you,
- 49:52Speaker 5: I'm not trying to hear it, they ain't wrong. You
- 49:56Speaker 5: talking about months ago, and you could have said something,
- 49:59Speaker 5: that's you and your business. Matter of fact, that's you
- 50:01Speaker 5: and your poverty. Because I'm not living in poverty. I
- 50:06Speaker 5: can't get yesterday back.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 50:09Speaker 5: We got to learn to love ourselves better than that.
- 50:12Speaker 5: Until you look in that mirror and start loving what
- 50:15Speaker 5: you see, then how can you possibly love anybody else?
- 50:21Speaker 5: Don't get mad at somebody else because they're happy and
- 50:23Speaker 5: they're going on doing whatever they do and then you
- 50:26Speaker 5: upset because you're not happy with what you see in
- 50:29Speaker 5: the mirror.
- 50:30Speaker 1: You're not happy with your life. Then change it because
- 50:32Speaker 1: at the end of the day, that's your life. Find
- 50:37Speaker 1: something and then complete that something. Stop getting started and
- 50:42Speaker 1: never finish.
- 50:44Speaker 5: How many times have you crossed the finish line and
- 50:46Speaker 5: pointed at yourself for me?
- 50:49Speaker 1: Not for them, for me. Because once I can cross
- 50:53Speaker 1: the finish line for me, then I can help you
- 50:56Speaker 1: cross the finish line for you. But then if we're together,
- 50:59Speaker 1: I can help us cross the finish line together.
- 51:03Speaker 5: See, all these start up and never finish things. How
- 51:07Speaker 5: many things you go and dust it off.
- 51:09Speaker 1: And say, you know what?
- 51:09Speaker 5: I should have, could have, would have. And it's still
- 51:12Speaker 5: sitting right there. It's still sitting right there. My grandma
- 51:17Speaker 5: used to say all the time, and I always bring
- 51:18Speaker 5: her in there. She say, I don't want to hear that.
- 51:21Speaker 1: I'm gone. I'm gone do this, and I'm gone do that.
- 51:24Speaker 1: She say, it's Mr. Doer. It's what I'm looking for.
- 51:28Speaker 1: She say, I'm sick of it. I'm gone. Get to it.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Make it happen. Love you better than that.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Yes. And that's so true. And that's one thing that
- 51:37Speaker 3: we have to remember. It has to start with us.
- 51:41Speaker 3: Because if you don't love you, you can't expect anybody
- 51:45Speaker 3: else to love you. If you don't love you, you
- 51:48Speaker 3: can't even give what you don't possess. So how can
- 51:52Speaker 3: you say you love this person, but you don't love you?
- 51:56Speaker 3: How can you love somebody else? that has just come
- 52:01Speaker 3: into your life, but you don't love the person that
- 52:04Speaker 3: you've been with all your life.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Well, I did all that for you, but you ain't
- 52:08Speaker 1: do nothing for me. Nothing.
- 52:10Speaker 3: And that's because you didn't do nothing for you.
- 52:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 52:15Speaker 3: And that's the thing. You have to love you. You
- 52:18Speaker 3: have to do for you. And women, most especially, because
- 52:23Speaker 3: there are so many times in relationships, in marriages that
- 52:29Speaker 3: we neglect ourself and we do for everybody else. And
- 52:34Speaker 3: we make everybody else happy. We make everybody else dreams
- 52:38Speaker 3: come true. But when, when do you show up for you?
- 52:43Speaker 3: Because when their dream comes true, then you're feeling some
- 52:46Speaker 3: kind of way. You're all in your feelings and you're hurt.
- 52:52Speaker 3: And you're like, well, you know what? I helped you
- 52:55Speaker 3: do this. And your dream that came true. But what
- 52:59Speaker 3: about my dream? What about your dream? You started and
- 53:05Speaker 3: you stopped. And then you didn't allow honesty to reside
- 53:12Speaker 3: in your house so that you could be healed. What
- 53:16Speaker 3: you don't address, you carry.
- 53:20Speaker 5: And I'm going to go back a little bit on that.
- 53:23Speaker 5: When you said my dream, you know what? So if
- 53:26Speaker 5: it was your dream and it was in your head
- 53:29Speaker 5: and you began it, you ran well.
- 53:32Speaker 1: But what hindered you? Because one thing about it, when
- 53:36Speaker 1: it's something that you truly want, you're going to work
- 53:39Speaker 1: and do whatever it takes to get it.
- 53:42Speaker 5: And when you're made, Or your significant other. See that
- 53:46Speaker 5: you're working that hard. You're going to make them do
- 53:48Speaker 5: the same thing. Because they can only address. What they see.
- 53:53Speaker 5: I know she'll work to get that. I got to
- 53:55Speaker 5: do the same thing. If I want to meet her halfway.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Better yet.
- 54:00Speaker 5: Let me meet me halfway. Because you know what. She
- 54:04Speaker 5: doing that. But what you doing. Then when you go out.
- 54:08Speaker 5: I heard you got this. And you been doing that.
- 54:10Speaker 5: And you sitting there looking like.
- 54:11Speaker 1: Okay. Well, what you do now?
- 54:16Speaker 5: And now you're upset at her for living her dream
- 54:18Speaker 5: or you're upset at him for living his dream or
- 54:21Speaker 5: moving forward in life because he chose to continue to
- 54:26Speaker 5: move forward. Every day is a new day. Every day
- 54:31Speaker 5: is a new opportunity. God touches you with a finger.
- 54:35Speaker 5: You ain't got up on your own. He did that.
- 54:39Speaker 5: And he gives you another chance. You can sit there
- 54:41Speaker 5: and look at people's progress. And you'll look at it
- 54:44Speaker 5: because of your mindset. You think this is where they're
- 54:46Speaker 5: supposed to stay. Then when you find out anything that
- 54:49Speaker 5: you look at them all this time and all of
- 54:51Speaker 5: a sudden they're doing this and they're doing that.
- 54:54Speaker 1: They've got this. They've got that. And you see them
- 54:57Speaker 1: get up every morning just like you did.
- 55:00Speaker 5: But they chose to do something different with what they have.
- 55:03Speaker 5: It's not what you bring or what you earn. It's
- 55:06Speaker 5: what you do with it. Because little is much in
- 55:08Speaker 5: the master's hands. And who is the master? We ain't
- 55:11Speaker 5: talking about God. You the master because it's in your hand.
- 55:14Speaker 5: But God will take your little and make much out
- 55:17Speaker 5: of it. But guess what? Even he needs something to
- 55:20Speaker 5: work with. So what you bring it to the table
- 55:24Speaker 5: for yourself is about letting the healing begin. Heal your heart.
- 55:31Speaker 5: That black stony heart. Knock the rocks off. Get in
- 55:35Speaker 5: that dark area so some blood can get to that.
- 55:37Speaker 5: The light can get to you. So some blood can
- 55:40Speaker 5: come in and start pumping warm red blood in your veins.
- 55:44Speaker 1: So then you can say, you know what? I'm beautiful.
- 55:48Speaker 5: God loved me enough to wake me up.
- 55:51Speaker 1: He loved me enough to do that.
- 55:53Speaker 5: So that means I ought to love me enough to
- 55:55Speaker 5: take one or two steps forward and keep planting my
- 55:58Speaker 5: foot forward. Stop looking behind me because I can't get
- 56:02Speaker 5: that back.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 56:05Speaker 3: Remember, healing begins... Where honesty resides. And if you don't
- 56:12Speaker 3: address it. You will continue. To carry it.
- 56:17Speaker 1: So.
- 56:18Speaker 3: Let the healing begin. Continue. To be honest. Even when
- 56:24Speaker 3: it hurts. Because truth is offensive. So stand on your truth. And.
- 56:31Speaker 3: Tell the truth. Stop being a fraud. And make sure.
- 56:38Speaker 3: That you are honest, you are truthful, and you do
- 56:42Speaker 3: not hold back on what you feel. You don't have
- 56:48Speaker 3: to be cruel in what you feel, but be honest
- 56:53Speaker 3: because it's real. You have to deal with it. You
- 56:57Speaker 3: have to feel it in order for you to heal it.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Let the healing begin.
- 57:05Speaker 2: You've been tuned in to Let the Healing Begin, where.
- 57:09Speaker 1: We heal, grow, and rise.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Through the Word of God.
