  Speaker 1: with the team. The season's going to be here before

  Speaker 1: we know it, for sure. But there's this, and I

  Speaker 1: hate to say it like this, because there are things

  Speaker 1: that I'm excited for in terms of this upcoming season,

  Speaker 1: but there's this kind of murky cloud that's hanging over

  Speaker 1: this team here, Harrison. And you look at the power rankings,

  Speaker 1: Sixers power rankings in league power rankings and like, boy,

  Speaker 1: not great. You look at the roster and the starting

  Speaker 1: five are gonna be right out of the gate, and

  Speaker 1: you're kind of like, okay, maybe not the most optimal.

  Speaker 2: You look at Joel Embiid, Paul George, their health, and you.

  Speaker 1: Know, some of some within the fan base of at
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: this point kind of like thrown up their hands and said, ah,

  Speaker 1: the season's gonna stink. And again, there's certain things I'm

  Speaker 1: looking forward to when it comes to this team, which

  Speaker 1: we're gonna be getting into. But I'm wondering, what are

  Speaker 1: your thoughts in terms of the vibes, the mood of

  Speaker 1: the fan base, and also, you know, perhaps like the

  Speaker 1: team as we really start looking at what this season

  Speaker 1: may actually be here, let's talk about these vibes. What

  Speaker 1: are your thoughts here?

  Speaker 3: Yeah, I think just from the stuff that I see

  Speaker 3: online firsthand from the fans, I think that's the first
• 2:46
  Speaker 3: perspective I'll touch on here.

  Speaker 4: But I think people to.

  Speaker 3: A certain extent are sick of this team. It's it's
• 2:53
  Speaker 3: kind of like the same old Sixers. It's gone to

  Speaker 3: that point. Well, it's it's arguably even wherese because the

  Speaker 3: same old Sixers second round exist Now they're a playing team,
• 3:03
  Speaker 3: annual playing team.

  Speaker 4: So we're going down the slide here. But I think.

  Speaker 3: Fans have a reason to be skeptical about this at
• 3:11
  Speaker 3: this point. I mean, there's no denying it constant flameouts
• 3:15
  Speaker 3: or just seasons where stuff goes off the rails or both, really,
• 3:20
  Speaker 3: and I totally understand that from a fan perspective, there's
• 3:23
  Speaker 3: certainly some silver linings.

  Speaker 4: I think that you're going to start to see take
• 3:28
  Speaker 4: shape this season.

  Speaker 3: So I do think people should tune into this team
• 3:33
  Speaker 3: from time to time. I think they're really going to
• 3:35
  Speaker 3: start laying down a foundational block, if you will, with
• 3:38
  Speaker 3: a few of these players that we're going to get
• 3:40
  Speaker 3: into later.

  Speaker 2: And that's important.

  Speaker 1: That's important though in terms of the vibes, I think
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: I really do when they start laying that foundation that
• 3:46
  Speaker 1: you're talking about Harrison with the future, I mean seeing

  Speaker 1: that manifest itself. That's an important aspect not only of
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: this game, but what this team's going to be down
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: the road.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, And like I said, what we'll get

  Speaker 3: into that more. There's some questions geared towards some of

  Speaker 3: those foundational blocks, but I think what's more interesting is

  Speaker 3: the vibes around the team, and it seems like all
• 4:10
  Speaker 3: the vibes around the Sixers are surprisingly good. And like
• 4:15
  Speaker 3: I said, I understand the reason to be skeptical when
• 4:17
  Speaker 3: it comes to this team, especially at this point.
• 4:20
  Speaker 4: But everything that they're saying is the right thing.

  Speaker 3: We're just taking it day by day, and with a

  Speaker 3: team with so much uncertainty, so much uncertainty with their
• 4:28
  Speaker 3: franchise player, so much uncertainty with Paul George, that's.

  Speaker 4: Really all you can do. Yeah.

  Speaker 3: So I think that was a big takeaway from media
• 4:37
  Speaker 3: day is it was quite different than last year.

  Speaker 4: Obviously, there's all this uncertainty hanging but the mood on media.

  Speaker 3: Day was certainly a lot different, particularly with Joel Embiid,

  Speaker 3: and Joelle in particular gave some really strong comments talking

  Speaker 3: about getting his metal in the right place, just doing
• 4:57
  Speaker 3: the things that he can do outside of the physical
• 5:01
  Speaker 3: stuff with his knee. Yeah, and really that's that's all
• 5:05
  Speaker 3: Joel can do.

  Speaker 4: That's all this team can do.

  Speaker 3: And I think Maxi in particular has really try to
• 5:11
  Speaker 3: instill a culture and it's still trying to instill a
• 5:14
  Speaker 3: culture with this team moving forward, that hey, we might

  Speaker 3: not know who's going to be on the floor any
• 5:19
  Speaker 3: given night, but the Sixers are going to play their
• 5:21
  Speaker 3: asses off, and I think that that's really the mentality
• 5:24
  Speaker 3: that they need at this point with all the insertsy
• 5:27
  Speaker 3: just looming.

  Speaker 2: I think it was one of you. It might have

  Speaker 1: b with that zen a zen like attitude, an atmosphere

  Speaker 1: surrounding him at the media day recently, And to get

  Speaker 1: talking last week talking about what type of player, you know,
• 5:53
  Speaker 1: we might see from him this season, Like what type
• 5:56
  Speaker 1: of play might we see from him if and when
• 5:57
  Speaker 1: he's able to get on the court and into any
• 5:59
  Speaker 1: sort of basketball shape here, you know, is he a
• 6:02
  Speaker 1: guy that's going to be able to put up maybe
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: twenty two to twenty four points per game? And is
• 6:07
  Speaker 1: that optimal at this point in his career given his
• 6:11
  Speaker 1: physical health and physical challenges. So I guess the question
• 6:15
  Speaker 1: is based on what we heard from Joel Embiid last
• 6:17
  Speaker 1: week where he is in his career from a health perspective,
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: but also from a mental health perspective. Again, he had
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: that zen like attitude you know last week when he
• 6:28
  Speaker 1: was available for the media, Like what should the expectations
• 6:32
  Speaker 1: be for him? Like what type of Joel Embiid should we.

  Speaker 2: See this year?

  Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that's a great question, and that's the

  Speaker 3: question that everyone's asking themselves, Like how much Joel are
• 6:43
  Speaker 3: we going.

  Speaker 4: To see this year? If we're going to see Joel.

  Speaker 3: At all, I think if he is on the court,

  Speaker 3: I think you'll see form pretty reminiscent to what we've

  Speaker 3: seen before. Obviously, I think the last image that people

  Speaker 3: have with Joe was that season where there was the

  Speaker 3: James Harden hold out and he was dropping just like
• 7:03
  Speaker 3: forty on thirty minutes per game, seventy on Wemby and
• 7:07
  Speaker 3: and you know, it's just like to expect that at

  Speaker 3: this point. I think you're setting yourself up for failure.

  Speaker 4: Right, kind of what you floated with.

  Speaker 3: The points per game twenty two, twenty four. I think
• 7:17
  Speaker 3: that's the realm you're talking about. Maybe even a little
• 7:19
  Speaker 3: bit more than that. I do think his role is
• 7:22
  Speaker 3: going to be something that's interesting to watch over the summer.

  Speaker 3: Darryl Moury kind of got asked like, hey, if Joelle
• 7:30
  Speaker 3: gets on the floor with the Sixers a getting all
• 7:33
  Speaker 3: this young new talent that's going to need the ball
• 7:35
  Speaker 3: in their hands, could we see a role shift.
• 7:38
  Speaker 4: And Darryl kind of pushed back on that a little bit.

  Speaker 3: He was like, Joel is such a competitive player, He's
• 7:43
  Speaker 3: an MVP Colbert player that if Joel is on the floor,
• 7:46
  Speaker 3: he's going to look like Joel. And actually, on media
• 7:50
  Speaker 3: Day again, Joelle talked a lot about just being in
• 7:55
  Speaker 3: the dunker spot and playing within the offense, which I
• 7:57
  Speaker 3: thought was really interesting, which kind of contray dicks Darryl's.
• 8:01
  Speaker 4: Comments earlier in this summer.

  Speaker 3: So obviously he's not going to be an off ball
• 8:06
  Speaker 3: just you know, floating in the dunker spot constantly. But
• 8:10
  Speaker 3: I do think that's an interesting noteworthy quote where the

  Speaker 3: Sixers could potentially start to switch up their offense and
• 8:17
  Speaker 3: there is a gain for Joel in that and that
• 8:19
  Speaker 3: he doesn't have to be the guy putting up thirty
• 8:22
  Speaker 3: thirty a game every night, you know, just.
• 8:23
  Speaker 4: Constantly getting the ball every possession after possession.
• 8:26
  Speaker 3: Right, We've seen a growing playmaking skill in the past
• 8:30
  Speaker 3: few years that he could potentially lean into more, which
• 8:33
  Speaker 3: could in theory, ease his load and allow him to
• 8:38
  Speaker 3: appear more games. So it's tough to really gauge what
• 8:42
  Speaker 3: kind of role he's going to have with this team.

  Speaker 3: But if he and all signs so far pointing towards
• 8:49
  Speaker 3: the right direction, obviously it's the Sixers, so you never
• 8:52
  Speaker 3: really know. But if he is on the court, I
• 8:55
  Speaker 3: do think you'll see Joel that we've seen in past years.

  Speaker 3: I think he'll see more of the Olympic version of
• 9:01
  Speaker 3: him in the sense where he's it's a lot of
• 9:05
  Speaker 3: just spot up shooting, not really much post game per se.

  Speaker 4: Yeah, but maybe.

  Speaker 3: He leans into crashing the boards more. I know Joelle
• 9:14
  Speaker 3: has kind of been an ify. You know, by the
• 9:16
  Speaker 3: basic numbers, he's a good rebounder, but I test he's
• 9:18
  Speaker 3: kind of an iffy rebounder.

  Speaker 4: Yeah, so maybe he can.

  Speaker 3: Lean into that more, Maybe he can lean into his
• 9:23
  Speaker 3: playmaking ability more. It really remains to be seen, and

  Speaker 3: there's comments that contradict both sides on that, So it'll
• 9:31
  Speaker 3: be interesting to see play out.

  Speaker 1: Absolutely, And I guess, you know, as we're moving along here,

  Speaker 1: I'll ask the same type of question I did about

  Speaker 1: it embiid as it pertains to Paul George, because it
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: seems likely that he'll probably be, you know, moving to
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: the power forward position a little bit more here. Just
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: from reports in what we're reading, one would have to
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: believe that his numbers are probably gonna go up as
• 9:54
  Speaker 1: a result of that. What do you think we should
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: be expecting from Paul Jory or this season given where
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: he is at right now in his career.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Paul George actually had some of the
• 10:06
  Speaker 3: more interesting comments when they made him available for media day,
• 10:10
  Speaker 3: particularly what you're referencing with him playing power forward, that's
• 10:14
  Speaker 3: something historically he's.

  Speaker 4: Really pushed back on.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, in his career, and obviously in twenty twenty five,

  Speaker 3: it's a little bit different than twenty fifteen or even
• 10:24
  Speaker 3: twenty seventeen in the sense that you're seeing a lot
• 10:26
  Speaker 3: of smaller Fords really essentially just bigger small forwards playing
• 10:30
  Speaker 3: the four. We'll see what the trend is with the
• 10:35
  Speaker 3: dual bigs that may or may not be making return.

  Speaker 4: More teams are starting to lean.

  Speaker 3: Into that, but for the most part, you're seeing guys

  Speaker 3: that are kind of like Jason Tatum in the sense

  Speaker 3: that it's a lot more ball handling, a lot more

  Speaker 3: shot creation, less like pound.

  Speaker 4: The paint rebounding.

  Speaker 3: So from a usage standpoint or production standpoint, rather, I

  Speaker 3: think you'll see a lot better than what we saw

  Speaker 3: last season with Paul George. And the reason that I

  Speaker 3: say that isn't me doubling down on Paul George or

  Speaker 3: even necessarily having faith in Paul George. Yeah, but we

  Speaker 3: did see what he could do last year when he

  Speaker 3: was hampered, and let's face it, this guy was never

  Speaker 3: really healthy last year.

  Speaker 4: And he still put up respectable numbers.

  Speaker 3: It's not Paul George numbers, not the numbers you were
• 11:21
  Speaker 3: I were expecting, but he still showcased some stuff.

  Speaker 4: He showcased that he's a gravity shooter. Defenses are not
• 11:28
  Speaker 4: going to leave him alone. You can play him on.

  Speaker 3: Or off the ball, and the Sixers really put the
• 11:33
  Speaker 3: ball in his hands more, especially kind of down the
• 11:36
  Speaker 3: stretch before the wheels completely fell off, and him and
• 11:41
  Speaker 3: Maxie were kind of developing in chemistry where he'd bring
• 11:43
  Speaker 3: up the ball. He set a Maxie at the top
• 11:45
  Speaker 3: of the key, so he can offer things like that,
• 11:48
  Speaker 3: which the Sixers haven't really had much in the Joel
• 11:52
  Speaker 3: Andmbiide era. Obviously have Ben Simmons, but he's not a
• 11:55
  Speaker 3: shot creator. He's not someone defenses were respecting on the perimeter.

  Speaker 4: The closest thing that.

  Speaker 3: Would be Jimmy Butler, and that was only a half

  Speaker 3: season arrangement. So I think from a playmaking standpoint, Paul

  Speaker 3: George can really be beneficial to this team and especially

  Speaker 3: to Tyree Maxy. He's someone that from a statistical standpoint,

  Speaker 3: he's better off the ball.

  Speaker 4: His numbers, his efficiency.

  Speaker 3: All go up when he goes off the ball, and

  Speaker 3: that's something I think you'll also see would be Jay Edgecombe,

  Speaker 3: Jared McCain. There's guys that can bring the ball up
• 12:24
  Speaker 3: the floor, help set up the offense, and just take
• 12:27
  Speaker 3: the load off Tyrese Maxey. So I feel like that's
• 12:29
  Speaker 3: an area in particular where Paul George can really shine.

  Speaker 3: Now him playing the power forward, it gets a little
• 12:37
  Speaker 3: bit iffy again. It all comes back to rebounding, and
• 12:41
  Speaker 3: he's a good rebounder for a small forward.

  Speaker 4: He's obviously got good size six' aight six'.

  Speaker 3: Nine i'm curious how that would, look especially If joe
• 12:52
  Speaker 3: El embiid is the center beside, Him because you're Asking
• 12:56
  Speaker 3: Paul george to really kind of crash the boards a lot,

  Speaker 3: more and he's an old guy you don't necessarily want

  Speaker 3: to wear and, Tear So i'd be curious to see

  Speaker 3: how that. Works but from an offensive, STANDPOINT i think
