- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. One of the major issues that people are
- 0:08concerned with when it comes to the commission that's looking
- 0:12into Epstein's crimes is the fact that the commission itself
- 0:16has no teeth, and now that we're a year on,
- 0:21there really hasn't been much movement, and unfortunately, it looks
- 0:25like everything I thought that was going to happen is happening.
- 0:28The whole entire idea of the committee was to control
- 0:32that blast radius. They never wanted to get close to
- 0:35the truth. That was never the goal. They wanted to
- 0:38do enough that they can come back to you and say, look,
- 0:40we did our best. This stuff is still buried, it's
- 0:43still hidden, and we're just never going to get to
- 0:45the bottom of it. That was the plan, and the
- 0:50discharge petition threw chaos into that plan, and we now
- 0:55know that it left them scrambling so much to the
- 0:57point that they had high level meetings at the White House.
- 1:01So you know, they were panicking behind the scenes, and
- 1:04they should have been. But of course now comes the distractions,
- 1:09and the biggest distraction, obviously was the war in Iran,
- 1:14and I have to tell you, it did its job
- 1:16because the vast majority of people they pivoted. Right, there's
- 1:21a war. People are gonna follow that. There's a lot
- 1:23going on. You have the Israeli issue, just a whole
- 1:26lot going on. So of course people are gonna tune in.
- 1:29They're gonna look at what's going on in the war.
- 1:31They're gonna look at this, that the other thing. And
- 1:34that's what they've always counted on. Exhaustion and people being
- 1:38so confused and tired by this topic that they just
- 1:41keep it moving. And look, I understand this topic is
- 1:46not for the fantom heart. It's depressing, it's not fun,
- 1:50and frankly, there's nothing enjoyable about it. But I feel
- 1:53like this conversation has to happen after all these years
- 1:56and all these failures, I think we owe that to
- 1:59the survivor. Today's article is from the National Post and
- 2:03the headline one year in Epstein inquiry has found few answers.
- 2:08One year try about four decades. This article was authored
- 2:13by Swakar Ali. As the US House Oversight Committee's inquiry
- 2:19and the Jeffrey Epstein approaches its one year mark, the
- 2:22witness list has included some of the highest profile figures
- 2:25ever to appear before the panel, and they were all
- 2:29there voluntarily. Nobody showed up there with any kind of
- 2:34threat of actually being in trouble, and that was all
- 2:38part of it. Billionaire moguls, members of Epstein's inner circle,
- 2:42and the former US President have been among the dozen
- 2:45plus witnesses Olive saw to distance themselves from the deceased
- 2:49sex defenders crimes. None have had much to say to
- 2:53help lawmakers bring charges against any wrongdoers. Yeah, because they're
- 2:56the wrongdoers themselves. Breaking news. People aren't on themselves, not
- 3:02unless you threaten them with serious jail time. And wouldn't
- 3:05it be nice if the government had a tool to
- 3:06do that? Oh wait, they do, they chose not to
- 3:09use it. Imagine going after Jeffrey Epstein in any regard
- 3:13and not using RICO tell me the fix is in
- 3:16without telling me. In the UK, ties to Epstein caused
- 3:20the leadership crisis, led to the former Prince Andrew losing
- 3:23his honors and princely title, and triggered police investigations and
- 3:27Andrew getting arrested. Kind of significant senior officials in Norway, Sweden,
- 3:32France and Slovakia have all faced a reckoning for their
- 3:35associations with the disgraced financier. In the US, prominent figures
- 3:40have been forced to resign, while some have been grilled
- 3:43by lawmakers. Oh grilled is it more like praised? Oh
- 3:50he answered all the questions. Oh he's such a nice guy,
- 3:53Bill Gates. Thank you for all of your philanthropic work.
- 3:56Thank you for helping people with vaccines. I don't give
- 3:59a fuck about any of that. If you want the truth,
- 4:02I have one question, and one question only, Why were
- 4:05you associating with Jeffrey Epstein? And I want the truth?
- 4:08Now your bullshit answer. I want the truth. What were
- 4:11you guys doing together? And if you tell me philanthropy,
- 4:14I'm going to tell you you're a liar? How about that?
- 4:18But a group of Epstein's survivors say the truth is
- 4:21still hiding. They have criticized committee interviews for having largely
- 4:25been voluntary and not under oath. Well, who does that
- 4:28sound like? Almost like me and the survivors are on
- 4:31the same page. Huh. Billionaire investor Leon Black took a
- 4:36stance shared by many of the witnesses when he said
- 4:39at his closed door testimony, I knew jekyl I didn't
- 4:42know hyde did they all get together to come up
- 4:44with that defense that line? Leon Black and Leslie Groff
- 4:47both used it. Look, I have a lot of doubts
- 4:51about what's going on here, and I certainly have a
- 4:53lot of doubts about the people that are in charge
- 4:56of the whole process on both sides of the aisle.
- 5:00Like people who can play they're politics all they want.
- 5:03I'm so far away from that and so removed from
- 5:06that that I don't even care if people want to
- 5:09run around and think they're a party. Gives a fuck
- 5:12about them? Cool, great, have about it. There is nothing
- 5:15I can say that's going to change someone's mind. So
- 5:18for me, all I care about is that we agree
- 5:21about this topic here. We can have our disagreements later on,
- 5:26but about this topic, I don't give a shit what
- 5:29side of the political aisle you're on. I really don't
- 5:32care what your beliefs are. As long as you want
- 5:34justice and you want the people who are responsible for
- 5:37this held accountable, And if that's you, then we're allies
- 5:41at least right now. Later on down the road, well
- 5:45we can discuss what we don't agree on, But for
- 5:47right now, on this topic, I think we should all
- 5:50agree that these powerful people should be held accountable. And
- 5:54I think that most Democrats and Republicans and anything in
- 5:57between shares that view. Epstein pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution
- 6:04from a minor in two thousand and eight and spent
- 6:06thirteen months in jail. He died in August of twenty
- 6:09nineteen in a Manhattan jail cell, a month after being
- 6:12indicted on federal sex trafficking charges. Black, the co founder
- 6:16and former CEO of Apollo Global Management, had paid Epstein
- 6:20more than one hundred and fifty million from twenty twelve
- 6:23to twenty seventeen. The private equity firm commissioned a report
- 6:27that found the payments were for bona fide tax, estate
- 6:31planning and other related services one hundred and fifty million dollars.
- 6:36Here's an idea, just pay your taxes. I know, crazy idea,
- 6:41mister rich guy Lean Black got to get an extra penny.
- 6:44Got to make sure he has an extra dollar. If
- 6:48you haven't figured it out yet, I'm disgusted by all
- 6:51of them, and I've had enough. I've literally had enough.
- 6:56Republican Chairman James Comer full reporters Black cut the meeting
- 6:59short after being asked about the non disclosure agreements he
- 7:02had signed with women. Of course he did. He's a coward,
- 7:05he's a chump, and he's a pussy. The NDAs are
- 7:10between him and other women. Comer told reporters after Black
- 7:13walked out about an hour into the voluntary interview. We
- 7:16want to know was Jeffrey Epstein involved in the NDAs?
- 7:19Was he involved in writing? Was he involved in awarding
- 7:22funds to the women for the NDAs? What was the
- 7:25reason for the NDAs? What was he involved in intimidating
- 7:28guzel Ganieva? Did he reach out to the FSB to
- 7:32have people in Russia presser and flex honor? Yeah, he
- 7:35most certainly did. We saw the email, So what the
- 7:37fuck are we talking about here? Black was issued to
- 7:41subpoenas for him to appear at another hearing, which will
- 7:44be held under oath on July sixteenth, and to divulge
- 7:48information about any NDAs. Look, I hate to throw some
- 7:52rain on the parade here, but I have my doubts
- 7:55that we're going to get the truth from Leon Black.
- 7:58Do you really think a guy like Leon Blae is
- 8:01in scheming and conniving behind the scenes, right? Now. Oh,
- 8:04he most certainly is Richard Kahn, who worked as Epstein's
- 8:09acountant for more than a decade, testified in March that
- 8:12he received money from Black, along with billionaire retailer Les Wexner,
- 8:17Hedge von Magnate, Glenn Dubin, former Microsoft executive Steven Sinofsky,
- 8:21and members of the prominent Rothchild family. Comerce said Wexner,
- 8:26who was alleged to be behind much of Epstein's wealth.
- 8:28Pole Committee members in February, Epstein was a con man
- 8:32who duped them out of millions of dollars. Oh, you
- 8:35mean the conversation that the Republicans didn't bother having. That's
- 8:38I'm never gonna let that down. I'm never gonna let
- 8:40it die, and I'm never gonna let them off the hook.
- 8:43How don't you go and talk to Les Wexner when
- 8:45you say you're serious about justice. It is so absurd
- 8:50that it's hard to wrap my mind around. Democratic Congressman
- 8:54Suhas Submaranium described Cohn as a fixer who played a
- 8:57central role in Epstein's financial activity. He made payments for
- 9:01tuition and to girls directly, and his name appeared on
- 9:04shell companies used to channel Epstein's money Submarannium noted con
- 9:09said in prepared remarks shared with the media that he
- 9:12was not aware of the terrible and unforgivable things that
- 9:15he did to women and girls. Nah had no idea.
- 9:20I was just around for all of it, paying these
- 9:21girls off. But I saw nothing. I did nothing. How
- 9:25dare you even question me? Today? We heard from mister
- 9:29Kahn a lot of inability to recall, inability to recall emails,
- 9:33text messages he was involved in. Democratic Representative James Walkinshaw
- 9:37said if he was ignorant of mister Epstein's crimes, he
- 9:41was wilfully ignorant. Well, I can agree with that. Not
- 9:44a lot I agree with with mister Walkinshaw, but I
- 9:47agree with that if you say you're ignorant here, it's wolful. Sorry,
- 9:52nobody could be around this dude like they were and
- 9:54not know. The congressional probe was spurred by public pressure
- 9:59and appeals from surviv over the US Department of Justice
- 10:02handling of the case against Epstein and does associate Glenn Maxwell.
- 10:07Maxwell is the only other person besides Epstein to be
- 10:10charged by the Justice Department. She's serving a twenty year
- 10:13sentence for her role in recruiting some of the underage
- 10:16victims abused by Epstein. She should be under the prison,
- 10:20by the way, not a Camp Brian under the prison.
- 10:24The Justice Department review into the Epstein investigation concluded last
- 10:28year that it did not uncover evidence that would predicate
- 10:31an investigation against uncharged third parties. The same memo also
- 10:36noted that Epstein had harmed over one thousand victims. Being
- 10:41associated with Epstein does not imply criminal culpability. The Department
- 10:44has said, yeah, what if you got money from him
- 10:48while he was running a criminal enterprise? That kind of
- 10:51makes things marqino. While the interviews have fallen short of
- 10:56uncovering criminal activity, they have revealed damaging information about power
- 11:00for men. Bill Gates admitted that he had three affairs,
- 11:04including one with a Russian bridge player and another Russian
- 11:07nuclear physicist, that Epstein became aware of. Based on emails
- 11:11released in June, Epstein may have been considering waste of
- 11:14blackmailum Gates told the committee, well, that definitely tracks. And
- 11:18for all the people out there who think that Epstein
- 11:21was not blackmailing people, he most certainly was. Maybe not
- 11:25to the level some people say, but don't think for
- 11:27a minute he wasn't collecting Compromont and dossier's he was.
- 11:33Milinda French Gates has said her husband's affairs and associations
- 11:36with Epstein contributed to her seeking to end their twenty
- 11:40seven year marriage. Meanwhile, a prominent member or members of
- 11:44US President Donald Trump's second administration have also been called
- 11:48before the committee. Pam Bondy, who was ousted as Attorney
- 11:51General in April, told lawmakers that the release of the
- 11:54files was under the purview of Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche.
- 11:59Has there ever been a bigger failure as an Attorney
- 12:01General than Todd Blanche. This dude is an absolute clown,
- 12:07not qualified, and certainly not somebody that should be in
- 12:10that position. During the questioning, Miss Bondi invoked mister Blanche's
- 12:15name more than thirty times, pointing to him as the
- 12:17person responsible for the DJ's actions involving the review withholding
- 12:22and boch release of Epstein related records. Garcia said, well,
- 12:26that's true, throw them right under the bus, and that's
- 12:30right on brand for Pam Bondy. For his part, Blanche
- 12:34briefed the committee in March, but has since been called
- 12:36on by survivors to testify under oath. A New York
- 12:40Times investigation revealed that Blanche was in the situation room
- 12:43with Trump and other administration officials to discuss how to
- 12:47contain the political fallout from the release of the Epstein files. Trump,
- 12:52whose name appears thousands of times in the files, has
- 12:55not been accused of criminal misconduct. Well, let's start talking
- 12:59about cover up. Then there might be some problems. Survivors
- 13:05released a joint statement that said they were deeply disturbed
- 13:07by the Times report and came out against Blanche's nomination
- 13:11as Trump's permanent attorney General. Blanche failed to deliver transparency,
- 13:16and he has gravely failed survivors, they wrote. US Commerce
- 13:20Secretary Howard Lutnik, who was Epstein's next door neighbor in
- 13:24New York, testified May that he had met him three times,
- 13:28once during a tour of Epstein's house with his wife
- 13:31in two thousand and five, another brief conversation about scaffolding
- 13:34on their property, and the meeting with Lutnick's family on
- 13:38Epstein's private island for lunch in twenty twelve. He denied
- 13:42having any close relationship with Epstein. The testimony was criticized
- 13:47for being voluntary and not under oath of all the
- 13:50issues where you let people come in voluntarily, this is it.
- 13:54I mean, come on, they've never told the truth. What
- 13:56makes you think they're going to tell the truth now
- 13:58that you're letting them come in entirely. Bill Clinton, who's
- 14:03well documented relationship with Epstein went back more than two decades,
- 14:06was sworn in. He said his relationship with Epstein ended
- 14:10in two thousand and three after he learned that Epstein
- 14:12didn't seem interested in his global health initiatives. Was that
- 14:16before or after he donated to your initiative, mister Clinton?
- 14:20And if you think for a minute, I believe what
- 14:22Clinton said, I don't. He perjured himself, him and his
- 14:25wife both. If he had been aware of Epstein committing
- 14:31any crimes, I would have turned him in myself, Clinton said.
- 14:35Last week during testimony, Doug Band, a longtime Clinton made,
- 14:38contradicted a previous statement to Vanity Fair that Clinton had
- 14:42visited Epstein's island. Lawmakers noted, well, what about Virginia. I
- 14:47believe what she said. That's it, that's the whole statement.
- 14:51And she said that she saw Bill Clinton on the
- 14:53island do with that as you will. Emails exchange between
- 14:58Band and Maxwell in the early two thousands included pet
- 15:00names such as baby cakes and Booboo. The Epstein files
- 15:03have revealed. Banned reportedly said he had taken steps to
- 15:07take Clinton out of Maxwell and Epstein's orbit. The former
- 15:11Prince Andrew and Trump, whose names appear in the file
- 15:14thousands of times, should also appear before the committee, survivors
- 15:17have said. Following closed door meetings with survivors in June,
- 15:21Comer has said he will also call Alan Dershowitz to testify. Look,
- 15:27everybody should be called in, and everybody should be sworn in.
- 15:31None of this should be on a voluntary basis. That
- 15:34should have never even been an option, but unfortunately it was.
- 15:38And when you're dealing with something like this that's been
- 15:40buried in secrecy, it makes people wonder. And I think
- 15:44people are right to wonder, because if you want to
- 15:47be trusted, you have to be trustworthy, and this committee
- 15:52is anything but. All the information that goes with this
- 15:56episode can be found in the description box.
