- 0:03podcast. Whoa, whoa.
- 0:08That was Jake's menu. Because he is not here.
- 0:12Welcome. Yeah.
- 0:14Bangor Management, The Fantasy Hockey Podcast with Kevin and
- 0:19Josh. Or maybe this way.
- 0:21Josh, I don't know where I'm gonna put you yet, but Jake's
- 0:24not here, so just two would. You cheeky The Revenge basement
- 0:30tour. I should not hear that he knows
- 0:34what that means. Ohm didn't prepare my roast.
- 0:38Yeah, I was gonna believe. But yeah, welcome into Bangor
- 0:46management. Two out of three podcast hosts
- 0:49today, but it's the best 2 out of 3, so.
- 0:53Yeah. Throughout 3, Jakey is
- 0:57currently, I think he's in New York right now.
- 0:59He's doing some scouting for the Rangers, not he's.
- 1:03That they could use it, yeah. They could use it, but now he's
- 1:09enjoying some quality time out there and we are enjoying some
- 1:13quality time in here in the basement.
- 1:17I mean, I'm literally in the basement.
- 1:19That's where I do my recording. I'm not in the basement.
- 1:22I wish I had a basement. When I sell my house, I'm
- 1:25getting a basement. Nice.
- 1:26But enough lollygagging. Today we are talking about week
- 1:317. Buy low, sell high.
- 1:34Their targets. This is honestly one of my
- 1:36favorite episodes to record because if you're listening to
- 1:39this, if you're a banger management fan, you probably
- 1:42love trading. Do you love trading more than
- 1:44Josh and I? That's gonna be difficult.
- 1:47I made three trades in the past week.
- 1:49I. Mean one trade in the past week,
- 1:51but honestly, I think we're already breaking the record for
- 1:53trades in our league of record. Like our league of record does
- 1:56not like to trade. It's one of those leads that
- 1:58everybody just feels like you're trying to swindle them or, you
- 2:01know, we have a podcast into like, I know you're trying to
- 2:04pull on me, Ricky Bobby. It's.
- 2:06It's it's just very difficult. The fact that you were able to
- 2:09make 3 trades in like less than 7 days is honest.
- 2:11And none of them involved you or Jake usually.
- 2:13Like, there will be a couple trades in the season, but it'll
- 2:15always be in between the podcast hosts.
- 2:17So it's pretty crazy that all of our trades have not been within
- 2:20the family, you know? I hate trading with you guys
- 2:23because it feels like it feels like you guys already know
- 2:25everything that I wanna show you on.
- 2:28It's you and Jackie. Both refused to trade with me at
- 2:30this point. I mean some bigger management,
- 2:33Laura, like I think Josh and I first ever like you're doing.
- 2:37That's how he met. The league of record yeah, like
- 2:40me and Josh did not know each other until he joined the league
- 2:42of record that we currently play in together and have a podcast
- 2:45because of. Yeah, cuz we made like we spent
- 2:48hours you, he was the only person who would respond to my
- 2:51trade and I was the only person to talk to him.
- 2:53And we spent hours going back and forth.
- 2:55And then after we made the trade, we just kept chatting
- 2:57about all the fantasy hockey stuff.
- 2:58So, so yeah, that kind of the trading brought us together.
- 3:01Trading brings people together when you're trying to fleece
- 3:03them. We tried to trade for so long
- 3:06and then became best friends, made a podcast about it.
- 3:09So yeah, that's kind of how it goes.
- 3:10So that's how I remember it. To your other managers, yes, it
- 3:13was crazy. 4 for four. It was.
- 3:15I don't even blockbuster. We were.
- 3:16I can't believe we made a blockbuster happen just like
- 3:18that. I know that was wild.
- 3:21OK, let's dive in because we're getting Yeah.
- 3:24That trade? OK, you gave me.
- 3:25Five years ago. I know for a fact two of the
- 3:27four people you gave me were Marner and Devonte Paves.
- 3:31The one year tapes was good I gave you.
- 3:33I'm pretty sure JT I gave you, I think I gave you hurdle.
- 3:38Is that possible or did you give?
- 3:39You if possible. Hurdle was involved in that
- 3:41trade as well, forget which direction.
- 3:43Yeah, I don't remember all the. Details that I gave, that you
- 3:45gave me. You gave me a defenseman too, I
- 3:47think. Yeah, anyway, I.
- 3:49Forget but I just remember it was like JT for Marner.
- 3:53The big piece was JT. You want an awesome Matthews and
- 3:56Marner? That's.
- 3:56Why you wanted that was it. That was fun.
- 4:00This one anyways the. 1st of many times.
- 4:05But yeah, we're going to get into all our buy low sell highs
- 4:09for today. Jake is not here, so we're going
- 4:12to read his out and provide ample context to his picks.
- 4:17But we do have to start with our two weeks update.
- 4:21What did he tell people to join our Discord and subscribe on
- 4:23YouTube and comment five stars and all that fun stuff.
- 4:26Listen, listen, listen. Well, you just did that.
- 4:29OK, cool. If you don't know what Discord
- 4:32is, it's like an app. It's a platform that is a
- 4:36community where the Bangor management people hang out.
- 4:40So if you keep hearing us, I know some people message me on
- 4:42Instagram being like, I keep hearing you talk about the
- 4:45Discord, but what the hell is even that?
- 4:47Yeah. You can download it on your.
- 4:50Phone so there, yeah. Click the link in our bio, click
- 4:54on join Discord. It's gonna send you an invite to
- 4:56our specific discord and then you're in the community.
- 4:59You can talk about your state questions straight targets like
- 5:02literally every yes in the Bang gang.
- 5:06Is that what you said or I just said that for you?
- 5:09OK, now we've all said it. But yeah, honestly, every
- 5:12question you could have for us, we answer in the Discord, so
- 5:15it's a great place to be. We're also on YouTube, so as
- 5:18you're listening to this, there is a YouTube video happening at
- 5:21the same time. So if you're interested in
- 5:24watching that or have some extra free time, we're there.
- 5:27Drop us a comment, leave a like, subscribe.
- 5:30Most importantly also, if you're listening to this, this is a
- 5:33huge deal. But if you're listening to this
- 5:35and you're not following us on Spotify or Apple or wherever,
- 5:38you get those just like click on the podcast banner, hit that
- 5:41follow button. Honestly, it helps us out a lot,
- 5:43helps you guys out a lot as well because you're gonna get
- 5:45notified every time there's a new episode.
- 5:47So win, win, baby. Yeah, and every time we get a
- 5:50new follower, Kevin shakes that booty.
- 5:51So yes, it's definitely worth it.
- 5:54Count is up high right now so it's a lot of work for me, but
- 5:57worth. It it's worth it, it's OK.
- 5:59I think now we can. Get inspired somehow.
- 6:02More lollygagging with fewer hosts.
- 6:04But you know it was worth it. Let's get into our two weeks ago
- 6:08update. So who did we put as our bylaws
- 6:102 weeks ago? First we had Brayden Point.
- 6:12Since then he's played five games, only has one goal.
- 6:15This is not a failure on our part, this is a We wanted to put
- 6:18him in this week's Bilo episode, but we realized we did him two
- 6:21recently. He is the ultimate why low at
- 6:23this point? I think he's surpassed Panarin
- 6:25because fans popping off now. So it's really point is the
- 6:27ultimate bylaw at this point. He's the player that when we
- 6:31make these episodes, we actually try to do.
- 6:34We actually try to list targets that are feasible for your
- 6:36fantasy teams, like what are the trades that we are trying to
- 6:38make and then we try to talk about those on the podcast so
- 6:41that you guys could also make those similar trades.
- 6:43I am still. Kevin and sending barrages of
- 6:46bondages for Brayden Point. The point owner in our league,
- 6:49like I think they just know how big of a bylaw he is and they're
- 6:53just, they're committed to holding the bag at this point
- 6:55just to spite Josh and I because we sent him so many offers.
- 6:57You know, to be fair, like there is something to be said where
- 7:00you don't wanna sell low, right? So it's, I mean, I held special
- 7:04COV for like a year it felt like, but then he started
- 7:07popping off and then I traded him.
- 7:09I hate trading a guy I have is not doing well, even though it
- 7:12feels like a relief when you get them off your team originally,
- 7:14you're always like not selling them out.
- 7:15Terrible value. So I can't blame him too much.
- 7:18But I feel like we're sending some good offers so so who
- 7:20knows, but that's a that's a good one for sure.
- 7:22Next we have Mackenzie Weeger. Since we mentioned him two weeks
- 7:25ago, he had seven games played, only one assist, 7 penalty
- 7:28minutes, 20 shots, 18 hits, 17 blocks.
- 7:31I put that because the reason you're getting Mackenzie Weegar
- 7:34is not for the points, especially on a Calgary team.
- 7:36That's not like it would be a nice bonus if he did that too.
- 7:39But his banger cats have been off the charts.
- 7:41He is still a huge bylow because the lack of points.
- 7:44But I'm pretty sure honestly people who are in a league with
- 7:47these categories aren't too upset having weaker on their
- 7:49team. Like yes, they would have liked
- 7:51the points, the power play points, but like with those
- 7:53Bangor cats, like he's just he's not worth the draft value they
- 7:56got him at, but he's still a very good part of their team.
- 7:58So I still think it's difficult to get him, but if you can, I
- 8:01still think it's a great buy. Locust people get more points
- 8:02than this. Context for a week or like he
- 8:05was my by law two weeks ago. But I did like, if you're just
- 8:09reading that now, you didn't actually listen to the episode
- 8:11and you're like, oh, why would they recommend?
- 8:13You're like his ass. Like, yeah.
- 8:16He is ass but there was context to it.
- 8:19It was you could actually at that time 2 weeks ago he was
- 8:21doing even worse than this funny enough.
- 8:23Like his banger cats were struggling.
- 8:25He had just got bumped off P1 so like there was a lot of negative
- 8:28energy for rigor and the the price for him was really low it.
- 8:31Was really. Low, Yeah, he only has one point
- 8:33in the last seven games, I think.
- 8:35Like, even at his best, he was like a .5 points per game kind
- 8:39of player. Like, that's not the reason why
- 8:40you had him on your team. Maybe now he's like a point 3.3
- 8:43player, which is honestly atrocious.
- 8:44Yeah, but if you're getting the Pimms, the Shaws, the kids in
- 8:47the blocks, like from a defenseman, that's great value.
- 8:51Yeah. And maybe you can be like, hey,
- 8:52here's a guy that's gonna get you more points.
- 8:54Like I'll take you off your hands type thing.
- 8:55Like that's the kind of trade you're gonna make where that
- 8:57points guy maybe you have an abundance of and you really need
- 8:59the banger coverage. Like, that's the kind of trade
- 9:01you're trying to do for McKenzie.
- 9:02Yeah, like I would love to flip my Shane Gosta spare for
- 9:05Mackenzie Weeger. But yeah, exactly.
- 9:07I mean, I've been trying to flip like Eric Carlson plus like
- 9:09another guy that gets you some hits just so it's like some
- 9:12category coverage. You get Mackenzie weaker but in
- 9:15our league is difficult. I have to say it was a good buy
- 9:18low. I think the ship may have sailed
- 9:19on it because the main reason it was Billy, Kevin said, is that
- 9:22he also wasn't paying. And then we had Philip
- 9:24Gustafson, who since then played four games, two wins, .907 save
- 9:29percentage, 2.49 goals against average.
- 9:31That's really solid. Like I think he was doing really
- 9:33poorly 2 weeks ago. I still think that you can buy
- 9:36low on him. I don't think that window is
- 9:37closed, but he's definitely starting to trend up.
- 9:39So it's going to take more than it would have taken 2 weeks ago.
- 9:43I will say that I'm just going to highlight Brayden Point is
- 9:45still the biggest guys. We've talked about Panarin for
- 9:49so long. It seems so risky when it's not
- 9:51happening. You're like, is he ever gonna
- 9:53turn it around? Like is this the biggest mistake
- 9:55I'm gonna make in fantasy this season?
- 9:56Like give away good players for these guys that are drafted in
- 9:58the second or third round in your fantasy leagues.
- 10:01And now look up Panera now, like everybody's just like cyber
- 10:04relief, bald Panarin and throw check our back.
- 10:06And it's it's amazing. So it feels so bad when you're
- 10:10going into it. But we've seen the heights of
- 10:12Brayden Point can get. You're trading a guy that's
- 10:14probably a cell high for a guy that's on ultimate buy low.
- 10:17It's going to feel bad. Yeah, I turned around.
- 10:19It will come. I just did a huge sell high buy
- 10:22low trade that honestly I don't feel great about right now.
- 10:24But if you follow the process, it should work out really well
- 10:28for me. I traded Johnston, Horvat and
- 10:30Kreider for essentially Kucherov, which the three guys I
- 10:34sent are top in the league right now, you know, and Kucherov is
- 10:37doing really poorly. But if you follow the process,
- 10:39the whole point of this is you feel bad at first, but over the
- 10:41course of the season they'll pay off for you.
- 10:42So same thing with Brayden Point, but let's get into our
- 10:45cell highs from 2 weeks ago. So first we had Brandon Montour.
- 10:48This worked out exactly as is said seven games played since
- 10:51then, one goal, one assist, 2 points, only three hits and
- 10:54seven blocks. So like I said, not only was his
- 10:56points unsustainable 2 weeks ago, his back cats were
- 10:59unsustainable. They were insane at the time.
- 11:01If you look at his game log exactly after our Vilosell high
- 11:04episode, he dropped off the face of the planet.
- 11:06And just like I said he would, we said he would.
- 11:09So so no, this was a great sell high.
- 11:11I hope you sold on him because now he's he kind of dropped back
- 11:14down to earth and I don't think you can get nearly as much
- 11:16value. Yeah, I completely agree.
- 11:19I think Montour was one of those names that he always has periods
- 11:22of time where he becomes like the best defenseman in fantasy.
- 11:25He. Feels like he loves me.
- 11:27We should both those schedule of when the month was scheduled to
- 11:30play Josh so everybody can know that to buy a buy low buy a sell
- 11:34high opportunities on the way. Or Matthew Olivier playing
- 11:36either of us, Yes. Guys, OK, I have to do this
- 11:40little tangent. You're gonna listen to this, But
- 11:43everybody that was in this code remembers my meltdown that I had
- 11:46in the press channel, the fantasy venting, the press
- 11:49channel in Discord. Because when Matthew Olivier
- 11:51played me like 2 weeks ago, he dropped a four point night
- 11:54against me, 4 points. Matthew Livier, the enforcer, he
- 11:58does not even know how to get a point.
- 11:59It doesn't know that is he. Before that game he had, I think
- 12:03he had two. One points on the.
- 12:04Season, yet he had like one point on the season.
- 12:06Yeah it was. Then after that he disgusting.
- 12:08He puts up 0 points for two straight weeks and then he goes
- 12:11up against me this week and puts up a three-point game.
- 12:15So 7/8 of his points on the season have come in two games
- 12:19and against me and Josh in separate matchups.
- 12:23So he has made it to the Josh and Kevin Hate club.
- 12:26He has now joined Adam Lowry who always kills it against us and
- 12:29gets shorthanded points and Mark Stone who just.
- 12:31There's so many reasons both from being on our team or being
- 12:33against us that we hate him. Anyways, let's move on to our
- 12:36salvation. Two weeks ago we haven't even
- 12:37diving into our new ones. We had Ryan Nugent Hopkins who
- 12:41since then four games played, zero goals, 4 assists, 4 points
- 12:43and has been injured. So obviously it's hard do pet
- 12:46ourselves on the back and be like, we knew he'd get injured
- 12:48so you should have sold him. But the fact is if you did tell
- 12:51him you're pretty happy. But not much to say on that.
- 12:53And. That was also like in the where
- 12:57Heyman was going to come back as well.
- 13:00Like his deployment was probably going to end up being like a
- 13:02line 3C for neutral Hopkins as what we've seen is a common
- 13:06occurrence for him when the team is fully healthy.
- 13:07So listen like not a pat on the back, But I still think that if
- 13:12you can get anything for new Hopkins like I would try to
- 13:13sell. And lastly we have Trevor
- 13:16Siegrist, who since then seven games played, two goals, 5 is 7
- 13:20points. But I will say I prepared this
- 13:22show doc last night, yesterday before the game, and he had only
- 13:26gotten 4 points in six games at the time.
- 13:29Yeah, then he puts up a three-point night.
- 13:31So now it makes us. Look a little.
- 13:32Us against Kevin, of course. So yeah, so he is a point for
- 13:37game since the two weeks ago, still a massive cell high.
- 13:40If it wasn't for last night's game, I'd say you have missed
- 13:42the boat on the cell high. Now maybe you can still pull it
- 13:44off, but don't expect this to last all season.
- 13:47No, especially Philly. Philly I think is one of those
- 13:50teams that I can, I can see like severely regressing in the
- 13:53second-half of the year. I want to capitalize on the
- 13:56versus value right now and still try to trade.
- 13:58Him, yeah, but let's dive into this week, all the new ones that
- 14:01people want to hear about. So let's start with my bio for
- 14:04the week. This is my favorite one.
- 14:06I really like this one, I was pretty happy with it even though
- 14:10he did put a goal last night. But my Bilo is Dylan Gunther of
- 14:14the Utah. So Gunther started off the
- 14:16season super hot but has cooled down significantly in the past
- 14:19two weeks where he's averaging .17 points per game, zero power
- 14:22play points and three shots on goal.
- 14:24So one thing to note is even despite the lack of points, he's
- 14:26still shooting, which is why I'd still, I'm not too worried or
- 14:29part of the reason I'm not too worried.
- 14:31He even got bumped off power play one for a game in favor of
- 14:33Kevin Stenlund, which obviously didn't last because it's so
- 14:36dumb. Yes, I wrote that in the show
- 14:37doc. I'm reading it because it was
- 14:39baffling. I almost picked up and was like,
- 14:40if they're gonna be this dumb, then maybe I'll pick him up.
- 14:42But I knew it wasn't gonna last more than a game so I didn't
- 14:44fall for it. But anyways, so yeah.
- 14:46So again, their owner may be panicking and thinking that his
- 14:49deployment is not a lock. Again, there is still an elite
- 14:51player and an elite shooter. The entire Utah team is
- 14:53struggling having lost five out of seven of the last games,
- 14:56Although again, I wrote this before last night's game where
- 14:58they won. So let's say having lost five of
- 15:00their last eight games, they have way too much offensive
- 15:03firepower and then there's way too good of a player for this to
- 15:05last. Act now while you can get him
- 15:06for cheap. Disclaimer, Utah doesn't have
- 15:08the greatest playoff schedule, but I'd still you still got to
- 15:11capitalize on opportunity like this.
- 15:12It's a 432, sucks in the finals, the quarterfinals, great
- 15:15schedule on semis is fine, but I just like putting that
- 15:18disclaimer out there in case I don't want people to get him not
- 15:21knowing that events and some good targets.
- 15:22I put Evgeni Malkin still a cell high.
- 15:25I think this can easily get done one for one and I would be way
- 15:28happier with Gunther. Brad Marshall is just popping
- 15:30off way rather Guenther, Chris Kreider popping off as well for
- 15:34Gunther, Nikolai Ellers also on a hot streak and Quentin Byfield
- 15:38also having 2 multi point games against me this week.
- 15:41So those are all some targets that I would look at sending for
- 15:43Crider for for Gunther. I mean I completely agree with
- 15:47all of this. I think Gunther is one of those
- 15:50names that they started the season super hot.
- 15:52Everybody got super hype on him and then he dried up really
- 15:56quickly. And then people are like, oh
- 15:58man, I missed the boat. Like this guy used to be like
- 16:01the best. Now he's the worst type of
- 16:02thing. And when you see those, when a
- 16:04new player is cementing his reputation as like a great
- 16:07player and then they have spells like this, it's a good
- 16:10opportunity because people are thinking about like, oh, was I
- 16:13wrong? Like is he actually not as good
- 16:14as I thought? So like that is a train of
- 16:17thought that is very common when you own a player of like this
- 16:20archetype. And also you can capitalize if
- 16:23you actually have the conviction in your take.
- 16:24But yes, that's actually a good player.
- 16:26The underlying metrics are there.
- 16:27The situation is great. He's still going to have success
- 16:30in the future. You can buy him on that like
- 16:32panic value a little bit. Yeah, especially like the fact
- 16:35that you got bumped off power play one for a game like that's
- 16:38a huge you can use that to your advantage because it's not gonna
- 16:41let obviously it didn't last, but like you can be like look,
- 16:44he might not even be a lock on power play 1.
- 16:46Kevin Stanley's creeping up there, you know, so.
- 16:48I mean, like, clearly he wasn't good in a good in good form.
- 16:52Clearly the coach wanted to spark something.
- 16:56He made an awful decision. Like one of the best ways to
- 16:59spark your star forward is to demote him off P2, clearly.
- 17:03And I guess. Page out of her odds book.
- 17:05Seriously. I mean, I understand like trying
- 17:07to balance out the fact that you still need team success.
- 17:10Everyone wanted your star players like not doing well, but
- 17:12is that is that the solution? I'm I'm just not sure, but there
- 17:16are way better days ahead for Gunther.
- 17:18Yes, Josh mentioned like the playoff schedule is not
- 17:20something that I really want to hold him the whole season 4.
- 17:23Like I want to kind of like get him now, capitalize on getting
- 17:26better value and then have an opportunity to trade him later
- 17:29in the season as well. Because the two game week in the
- 17:32playoffs in the championship is is not great, but he's going to
- 17:35provide so much value for your team before that point.
- 17:38Yeah, alright, Kevin, who you got for?
- 17:40Us all right this is a guy that has been on one of these
- 17:44episodes previously very early on in the season but yeah he was
- 17:49a cell high earlier and now he's a bi low.
- 17:52That's why you're talking about Pavel Dorothea V of the Vegas
- 17:56Golden Knights. Listen, when I say Pavel, you
- 18:02think about goals, goals, goals. These guys are goals.
- 18:04Goal. He scored 35 goals last year.
- 18:06He started extremely hot. This year he's already had ten
- 18:09goals on the season. We are.
- 18:11We are not a third of the way through the season yet.
- 18:13And he's got almost, yeah, he's going to get 40 goals this
- 18:16season, but over the last two weeks, guess how many goals he
- 18:20has. 0. He's got one goal, one goal in
- 18:24the last two, somebody points he has.
- 18:27What? What?
- 18:29What 1.1 goal in the last two weeks class He's he's pretty
- 18:32much dried up like yeah. And it's good to keep a pulse on
- 18:36the league and players that are going through stretches like
- 18:39this because even in the discord people were just like, oh man,
- 18:41Dora Faye really dried up, didn't he?
- 18:44And that's an opportunity to strike when you believe in the
- 18:48turnaround and I believe in the turn around for the Rafael he's
- 18:51his deployment is set. Honestly, I'm not worried about
- 18:54the deployment coming into the season.
- 18:56I think he fell in fantasy drafts because people weren't
- 18:58convinced that maybe he's going to start on P1.
- 19:00He was also injured. So we were like, oh, sorry.
- 19:03He was like, oh, is he gonna get that P1?
- 19:05Like where is he gonna play when he's when he's healthy?
- 19:08He he got healthy and instantly was on P1.
- 19:11Yeah, I had a A ahead of Theodore.
- 19:14Now the door was bumped off for Briggs named rookie that
- 19:18nobody's ever, ever heard of. Yeah, Bowman.
- 19:20So which I did pick up in my, you know, extremely deep league
- 19:24where everybody is rostered so. I felt pretty bad about that
- 19:26thinking about I. Do not recommend picking up in
- 19:29almost any league. Yeah, but all that to say,
- 19:32Theodore is not in favour. They much rather have Mitch
- 19:34Marner running that power play and Dora fave spot has zero
- 19:38question. So all that to say, he's playing
- 19:41almost 20 minutes a night. He's still shooting a lot.
- 19:44He is deployment is set. Everything is there for success
- 19:48in the future. The Vegas power play has also
- 19:50been extremely snakebitten since the Markstone injury.
- 19:53Like we are Markstone haters, but we're also not oblivious to
- 19:58the fact that he does bring value to this team and that he's
- 20:01a good player to have on the actual ice.
- 20:03He's just frustrating in fantasy because every time he plays
- 20:05against that he pops off and it's just like he can't keep
- 20:07getting away with. This, yeah.
- 20:08And then he's also frustrating if he's on your team.
- 20:10He's always injured so he's just a frustrating player in general.
- 20:13But he's not injured, he's playing against us and he's
- 20:16Recon havoc. So when when I like once in
- 20:20awhile, I like checking on how all the players are doing, you
- 20:22know, go on the players table, sort by all players, like even
- 20:24on teams, and I'll sort by season average.
- 20:26And he's at the top of that because before he got injured,
- 20:28he was popping off. Clearly makes a big difference
- 20:30for that power play and for Dora Fav.
- 20:32Yep, but all I have to say over the last two weeks, shooting
- 20:36percentage is at 7%. It's like 7.5.
- 20:39His career average last season was closer to 14.
- 20:43So he's basically half as good as he was in terms of shooting
- 20:47and scoring goals the last two weeks to the start of the
- 20:51season. I think all of this is going to
- 20:53get better. I think when Mark Stone comes
- 20:56back, I think the power play is gonna get better.
- 20:58I just think right now you can capitalize on somebody that
- 21:01drops the door off late in the 14th round.
- 21:03Maybe they thought they had a diamond in the rough.
- 21:05I don't think he has that reputation that is going to be
- 21:10like a stud like this for the whole year.
- 21:12I think people kind of like have the image of the rave in their
- 21:15head where he's a streaky guy right in while he's hot.
- 21:17He'll score a lot of goals, but he's pretty one-dimensional.
- 21:20He'll get through spells like this.
- 21:22But I really believe in Darfur have to be not only a season
- 21:25long hold, but like a guy that you could have drafted in the
- 21:27fifth or sixth round this year and been happy with that, with
- 21:29that outcome. So I really want to buy Dora
- 21:32Fev. I think he's extremely
- 21:34attainable right now if you can sell, you know, a similar
- 21:37archetype of player, but that's hot.
- 21:39That's the perfect the perfect cell.
- 21:43We always say one for one trades are awful.
- 21:45You don't want to do those because they're first of all
- 21:47hard to get done. And also you want to make a
- 21:49balanced trade where it's a 2 for two.
- 21:51So there's some sort of ambiguity.
- 21:53But these are potential names that you can maybe get in a one
- 21:55for one. I will say some are better than
- 21:57others, but I think Morgan geeky right now, he's also on fire.
- 22:00I would rather have Dora for rest of season.
- 22:02Like Yankee has the best playoff schedule just like the New York
- 22:05Rangers, but I'd rather have the shot volume because Dorothy of
- 22:09the better team and the heightened gold opportunity.
- 22:12I think Brock Besser is really hot right now.
- 22:14I think better if you could do like a Besser plus another piece
- 22:17for Dora Fev. I think that can get done.
- 22:19Nikolai Eller is a target that Josh mentioned for Dylan
- 22:22Gunther. I think you can trade him right
- 22:23now. He's super hot.
- 22:24He's on line 2 on Carolina already.
- 22:27We know what blowing under Rod can do for you.
- 22:31Maybe with the Jarvis injury, hopefully that's not long term.
- 22:34But I don't think it's long term.
- 22:35They said it wasn't. But then he's gonna be lined to
- 22:38power play 1 and yeah, that's a good deployment.
- 22:41But he's not gonna be keep. He's not gonna keep doing what
- 22:43he's doing right now. I think you can trade him for
- 22:45DIRECTV and Chris Kreider, the infamous Chris Kreider who Josh
- 22:48traded for Nikita Kucherov one for one.
- 22:51It wasn't one for one, but I think he's really hot right now.
- 22:56Anaheim is super hot scoring a lot of goals.
- 22:58Chris Cryder scoring a lot of those goals.
- 23:00You could trade him for Pravda Fav and I would be super happy
- 23:03getting any of those deals done because I think Dora Fave is
- 23:05gonna be a tremendous player for your fantasy team for weeks to
- 23:08come. Yeah, I agree with everything
- 23:10you said. I also like when there's like a
- 23:13specific catalyst you can point to when you turn around, it's
- 23:15gonna come. And I think Mark Stone
- 23:17returning, even though there's no timeline, so it might not be
- 23:19anytime soon necessarily. I think that's gonna be huge,
- 23:22but I also think there gonna figure it out before Stone
- 23:23returns. They have too many good pieces
- 23:24on that power plate to need one player.
- 23:26He's not even the best player. He's not even the second best
- 23:28player on that power play, right?
- 23:29It's Echo and Marner. Then you go like Stone, Dorff
- 23:32hurdles, something like that. So Stone obviously is going to
- 23:35make a big difference. He comes back, but they will
- 23:37figure it out before then. If Brayden Bowman's not the
- 23:39solution, they'll put in Barbashev, put in something
- 23:41else. You know, they keep putting in
- 23:42some fifth guy until eventually it clicks.
- 23:44So Garfield is at an all time low right now.
- 23:46He's gonna be sick this year. And I fully agree.
- 23:48Love your targets as well. I'd say my favorite, like my
- 23:51ranking of these targets. I think Geek is the best one of
- 23:54the four. Then I'd probably go Crider
- 23:58Euler's besser, but maybe. In terms of like who you, who do
- 24:01you'd rather give off? No cause or the best.
- 24:04The best player to me at least but I'm pretty low on elers and
- 24:08better I think I'm not the highest on so if you can pull
- 24:11off any of those I think it's great.
- 24:13But let's say you have multiple of these guys, then the first
- 24:15one I would offer is better then alright.
- 24:20Just wanna blasting on Duro Fev. But when you're when you look at
- 24:25like goal scorers like this for fantasy, like guys that are
- 24:28primarily goals, not many assists, you're gonna have a lot
- 24:31of periods of time in the season where they can't score every
- 24:34game. It's just impossible unless
- 24:35you're awesome Matthews that one year or Morgan.
- 24:38Geeky this year. So I'm not scared when times
- 24:42like this happen. Like, I just want to preface,
- 24:45preface that, that yeah, he has, he scored one goal in the last
- 24:51two weeks. It won't be the only time this
- 24:52season that he gets one goal in two weeks.
- 24:54Like it's bound to happen again. But that doesn't deter me from
- 24:57wanting him on my team. And yeah, and over the course of
- 24:59the season, the average is gonna be really nice.
- 25:01See if it's a bit streaky, it'll it'll average out to something
- 25:03you're really happy with. Exactly.
- 25:05All right, let's get into Jackie's cell.
- 25:09No pilot. For Jake who is not here so we
- 25:14will give context to his pick. But Josh, how about you lay it
- 25:17on us who did Jakey list as his bi Lo?
- 25:20And I will preface this with we make our own picks so we don't
- 25:26necessarily agree with everybody.
- 25:28Else's specific this is the real Rd. you're waiting for this
- 25:32point where we're both like, we don't necessarily think this is
- 25:35the biggest buy low obviously want him on our team, but I
- 25:37don't think he's I think he's doing pretty well.
- 25:39So anyways, we'll still mention it.
- 25:40Jackie said it and we'll give some context.
- 25:43Jake's choice is Connor Hellebuyck and he spelled his
- 25:45name wrong in the show doc but. Listen, who doesn't spell Connor
- 25:49Hellebuyck? They wrong me.
- 25:50I passed the spelling bee this summer.
- 25:53Alright Kevin, give some context on on why Connor Hellebuyck
- 25:55maybe is a Bilo. Alright, I do want to provide
- 25:58context because if you're hearing this name and you're
- 26:00like Connor Hellebuyck, a buy low, like he's not really doing
- 26:05bad right now. And I agree with you, he's not
- 26:08really doing bad right now. As of this recording.
- 26:10He had one bad game. But no, listen, we talked about
- 26:13the goalie position and how volatile it is.
- 26:15Bad games will happen. Connor Hellebuyck is still one
- 26:18of the best fantasy goal is in fantasy this year.
- 26:22Yes, Winnipeg is not as good as they were last year and that's
- 26:25the context that we need here. Connor Hellebuyck was a first
- 26:28round pick in almost every fantasy league this year.
- 26:31Unless your league severely decreases the value of goalies.
- 26:35Like he was a first round pick. Sometimes he went ahead of my
- 26:38car, sometimes he went ahead of Kaprizov and these guys are
- 26:41killing it this season. And I think that's what Jakey is
- 26:44trying to say here, that you know you drafted Connor
- 26:47Hellebuyck in the first round of your fantasy league.
- 26:50The opportunity cost when you're making a decision like that is a
- 26:53star forward that has 100 point plus potential, which can be a
- 26:57huge power asset for your fantasy team.
- 27:01Last season, Connor Hellebuyck won every trophy possible.
- 27:05He was a game breaker for your fantasy team.
- 27:08And if you drafted him in the first round expecting him to do
- 27:11what he did last year, you're severely disappointed.
- 27:13Now, if you were listening to this podcast in or honestly, I
- 27:17feel like any podcast, people were probably prefetching,
- 27:22prefacing that you can't expect what he did last year to be what
- 27:26he's going to do this year. Like it was one of those anomaly
- 27:28years that we saw from Kerry Price.
- 27:29Like, yeah, these are amazing goalies, but when you're
- 27:31performing at a level that's. OK, phrase could do anything
- 27:35good. But if you're expecting that
- 27:39level of performance, you're not going to get it.
- 27:42And so, yeah, you spent a high draft pick on a guy that you
- 27:46expected to win your goalie categories every week, and
- 27:49that's not happening. Like yeah, it's giving you good
- 27:51goalie stats, but it's not like the game breaking values that we
- 27:54saw last year, but he's still a good goalie to have.
- 27:57So if the Connor Hellebuyck manager in your league is at the
- 28:00bottom of the table, maybe they have a few injuries, maybe they
- 28:03have a hell of a bug who's good but not excellent like he was
- 28:06last year. There's an opportunity here to
- 28:08maybe capitalize on the sentiment around Connor
- 28:10Hellebuyck of he's not the game breaker I thought I was getting
- 28:13in the first round. I could have had Jacques on my
- 28:16roster. I could have had Capris on my
- 28:18roster. I could have had Macar on my
- 28:19roster. And yet I'm stuck with Connor
- 28:21Hellebuyck, who is not going to win me my matchups every single
- 28:25week. And if you're able to trade on
- 28:28that sentiment, maybe trade your best goalie plus a player.
- 28:31Jackie listed some targets, like if you could trade Cutter
- 28:35Gautier, the best goalie on your roster, for Connor Hellebuyck.
- 28:38Gotti is one of the biggest cell high right now.
- 28:40Everybody's excited. They picked them up off waivers.
- 28:42They drafted them really late. You have extreme value right
- 28:44now, but we don't expect this to last.
- 28:46If you could flip him for arguably the best and most
- 28:50consistent fantasy goalie, you do that in a heartbeat.
- 28:53For those not watching, I'm snapping my fingers right now.
- 28:57Let's say you have like Logan Thompson has been killing it,
- 28:59right? Thompson for halibut.
- 29:01That would be a sick. It's crazy because you know if
- 29:05you're trading your first round pick, you don't wanna step too
- 29:08low in value, where if you're trading him away, you wanna get
- 29:11somebody that's also drafted at least in the first 3 rounds in
- 29:14terms of value back. With goalies, it's ambiguous
- 29:17though, because their value kind of is separate from the forward
- 29:20skaters because not only is it a lot more context attributed with
- 29:26the goalie position, they're so volatile and goalies get hot and
- 29:30cold and their value completely fluctuates with that.
- 29:33So I think right now, hello Buck, is potentially attainable.
- 29:37You still have to pay a price. Obviously, we're not saying get
- 29:39your guest guys off the waivers and sell them for Connor
- 29:42Hellebuyck. Like that's not going to happen.
- 29:43And the manager may not be even completely disappointed with
- 29:47Hellbox performance right now. Like, yeah, he had one bad game,
- 29:49but he's been good. He just hasn't been game
- 29:51breaking. Yeah, at the bottom of the
- 29:53table, they're looking at their roster and they're like missing
- 29:56some depth. Like, you know, I always trying
- 29:58to find trade partners. I'm looking at the bottom of the
- 30:00table. I'm looking like, who are their
- 30:01star players that are underperforming?
- 30:02Yeah, But I don't always scroll to the goalies because goalies
- 30:05is kind of separate. It's like, OK, if I need a
- 30:08goalie, I'll look for goalies. If I don't need a goalie, I'm
- 30:10not looking for a goalie type. Yeah, but Hello Book is one of
- 30:13those guys. He's not doing bad enough that
- 30:14he's like a glaring by low, but if you're looking at all the
- 30:18first round picks that were in your fantasy leagues, like who
- 30:20is the worst one? Like right now it's probably
- 30:23Petrov who were saying as a by law, but that's probably Helck.
- 30:26Unless JT Miller was drafted in the first round of your fantasy
- 30:28league. You know what?
- 30:31I'm over it. I flipped him for McDavid, so
- 30:33I'm happy, yeah. So that that's kind of the
- 30:35mindset that I want you to have when you when you hear this
- 30:38Connor Hellebuyck take and what you can potentially do, like
- 30:42would you trade Igor Chesterton plus Cutter Gautier for Connor
- 30:45Hellebuyck or is that too much? That's a tough one actually,
- 30:50because like it's not like goatee is like a nothing throw
- 30:52in, right? No, no, no, you need it to be a
- 30:55significant upgrade. I don't know if I'm doing that
- 30:58on to be honest. And and I definitely prefer
- 31:01Hello Buck than than Igor. It's just is it a cutter goatee
- 31:04sized amount that I prefer that I'm not sure.
- 31:07I think Qatar Gotti plus like you said, like Logan Thompson is
- 31:10a great name if you can dispenser tonight like he's also
- 31:13been on fire like that feels. Like, yeah, that's highway
- 31:17robbery, honestly. What about John Tavares plus
- 31:20these goalies? I feel that's more palatable and
- 31:24This is why we're all here. First of all, Team 0G because
- 31:28these forwards are so valuable when you have them on your team.
- 31:31Yeah, and look where we are now, right?
- 31:34We're talking about being able to send a 6th, 7th round pick
- 31:38that's over performing plus your best goalie for a first round
- 31:41pick. That's not getting done for a
- 31:43first round forward or skater who is performing as they're
- 31:46expected or even underperforming a bit.
- 31:48Anyways, I like it. I don't necessarily consider him
- 31:51a buy low that much because I don't think he's playing that
- 31:54poorly. I usually like looking at guys
- 31:55who are actually under performing.
- 31:57He had one bad game, but yes, he has underperforming where he was
- 32:00and maybe this is like the one chance where someone would
- 32:02actually sell them. So yeah, to that point, I'll
- 32:04I'll give it to him, but. It's not a, it's not a, it's not
- 32:06a conventional bylaw, Yeah. But we wanted to highlight the
- 32:10situation and the sentiment around drafting of first round
- 32:12pick and maybe not being extremely satisfied with it and
- 32:15just always having that looming feeling that you missed out on
- 32:18an exceptional value. Exactly.
- 32:20Let's get into our sell highs. My cell high for this week is a
- 32:23bit of a lower targets one because we always talk about
- 32:27high end names but sometimes people don't like making those
- 32:29blockbusters. So here's a bit of a lower end
- 32:31one to to target or to offer. Ivan Barbashev of the Vegas
- 32:36Golden Knights Barbershop is averaging one point per game,
- 32:38zero power play points, 1.7 shots, 1.6 hits on the season.
- 32:42He shooting at 26% on the season versus a career average of 18%.
- 32:47He's line one with Iceland Marner which is great, but he's
- 32:49not power play 1 and has no chance of getting it as shown by
- 32:51Vegas bumping off the adore for Brayden Bowman over him.
- 32:55So if they're willing to bring in a guy who's never played in
- 32:57NHL game before and put him on power play one over Barbashev, I
- 33:00don't think Barbershop is getting power play.
- 33:02So and he has zero probably what's on the like probably 2 on
- 33:05Vegas is not a thing anyways. Nobody gets a point per game
- 33:08without any power play exposure other than super rare cases like
- 33:10Brandon Hagel last year. And barbershop is not bad.
- 33:12Brandon Hagel. You can sell Barbashev on his
- 33:14line one line mate. And the fact he's been doing so
- 33:16well to get someone on power play one who is underperforming.
- 33:19So guys that I'm looking at William Eckland, Dmitri Veronika
- 33:23V, you're Islet Kovsky, Dylan Holloway, again, you gotta aim
- 33:26realistically. I know you're looking at your
- 33:28guy like he's a point per game. Why am I offering it for?
- 33:30These guys are playing like scrubs but like barbershop is
- 33:33going to slow down and be like super cold so getting a guy
- 33:36who's a lock on power play 1 and will turn things around is just
- 33:39a big win for me. Yep.
- 33:42I agree and it's good to have trade targets like this where,
- 33:44you know, we talk about these big names like Brayden Point and
- 33:48Kucherov and all that, but guys like this that you most likely
- 33:52picked up off of waivers. If you're able to flip that for
- 33:55a guy that's going to be staying on your roster for the whole
- 33:57season that's like better than just a streamer level kind of
- 34:00guy, then that's a win too. Like that's how you make your
- 34:03fantasy team better. When you're picking up these
- 34:05guys on waivers that have big potential, they play to that
- 34:09potential. Then you sell them off for or
- 34:11you add them as a throw in a trade to get tear up type of
- 34:14thing. I love this barbershop is one of
- 34:17those clear names that you can sell on icon Marner.
- 34:20Yeah, killing it like sell that guy, sell that guy because he
- 34:23will end up on your waivers at some point if he gets bumped off
- 34:26line one, his complete value is cooked.
- 34:28So I'm trying to capitalize on that right now.
- 34:31I love the targets you listed. I think Eckland and Veronica
- 34:34did. They're not spicy like they're
- 34:35not they're not flashing names. They also will have their ups
- 34:38and downs like they're they're way better than a waiver type
- 34:41type of player in in your deeper leagues.
- 34:43Like I I want to preface that with like natural now just say
- 34:48profanity instead of. Yeah, of course.
- 34:50Well, now that we learn to properly say it, you know, Yeah.
- 34:53The most Italian word in the dictionary.
- 34:54But exactly yeah, slapping down Holloway would you like as well.
- 34:58I think Don Holloway is my favorite guy to target.
- 35:00I think I still think don't always buy low.
- 35:02So we're not highlighting them here specifically as a buy low
- 35:05on this show. But Dylan Holloway is a buy low.
- 35:07You already here first. If you can play barbershop for
- 35:10him that's exceptional. That's a 10 on trade in my.
- 35:13Book Yeah. I mean, for me, the thing that's
- 35:15tough is I just got Barbershop is kind of like a throw in my
- 35:17Kucherov, and I'm trying to immediately offload him before
- 35:20he inevitably slows down. But of the four targets I
- 35:23listed, two of them are on Kevin's team and two are on
- 35:25Jake's team, and none of them are gonna do that with me.
- 35:27So I gotta find some targets on some other teams.
- 35:29I'm actually using him right now as a additional piece, plus
- 35:32Gostisbehere, who's also a cell high to try and package for an
- 35:37upgrade somewhere else. But yeah, I think it's a really
- 35:40good name. That's the best way to do it.
- 35:41Find a position on your team that you want to get an upgrade
- 35:45at. Find like your worst player in
- 35:47that position, unless you want to upgrade your centre.
- 35:49You have a Nico Hischer and you want to get an upgrade there
- 35:53because he's also by law but you're not happy with him.
- 35:55Nico Hischier plus Ivan Barbashev, you can get a lot of
- 35:57good centres like that. You could maybe get Brayden
- 36:00Point or you can maybe get insert other centre here.
- 36:05Do the same thing with Defence Gostisbehere plus Barbershop for
- 36:09Victor Hedman for there's names out there that you can do that
- 36:13with. So that's what I'm trying to do
- 36:14with Barbershop. Right, Kevin, who you got as
- 36:18you're sell high? I'm happy to talk about this one
- 36:21because in years past I've had him on my fantasy teams and I've
- 36:25loved having him on my fantasy teams.
- 36:27He's always underrated, except this year, it feels like,
- 36:31because we're going to talk about Bull Horvat of the New
- 36:35York Islanders. I love him and I miss him.
- 36:37He was on Josh's team this year, drafted in the 99th round.
- 36:42Of a 14 teamer. Yeah, 14 team, 20 roster spots
- 36:45deep. George Garman the ninth round
- 36:48and flipped him 4. Nikita Kucherov 1 for one No.
- 36:52Feed a lot. OK, right now it doesn't feel
- 36:54great. Josh gave you gave a wide
- 36:56Johnston bohor VAT and. Kucherov, Monaghan and
- 37:01Barbashev. Monahan and Barbershop like
- 37:03throw wins for the pretty much yeah.
- 37:05So basically 3 for one and all Josh's guys were sell highs.
- 37:08Bull Horvat is a sell high. Over the last month he's been on
- 37:11pace to double his points from last year.
- 37:15Over the last month he's at 1.43 points per game.
- 37:20Last year he ended the season at 0.7, so a month is a big sample
- 37:24size, especially in in fantasy hockey.
- 37:27On this season he's at 1.3 points per game, which is
- 37:29already still elite, elite, elite.
- 37:32And he's shooting over three shots a game while still being
- 37:35elite at faceoffs. I don't think his pace should
- 37:39like I don't think his pace last season should be a 100%
- 37:42representation of what his baseline is going to be.
- 37:45I think he'll be better this year than he was last year.
- 37:47The Islanders last year were very bad and they didn't have
- 37:50the talent that they have this year.
- 37:51Like they added behind humans, they added Matthew Schaefer
- 37:53which completely like over overhauled their power play,
- 37:57which is. Well, he was injured for most of
- 37:59the. Season was injured for most of
- 38:01the season. He wasn't playing with Paul Mary
- 38:03who's the GOAT fever with water pick up for the season.
- 38:08But all that being said, I would not I would bet my house.
- 38:12Sorry, I would check Zillow right now.
- 38:14I would bet my house. The whole bed does not keep up
- 38:17this pace to unless you believe he's going to end the season
- 38:19when like the same the same points pace as McDavid,
- 38:22Kucherov, McKinnon then hold borer VAT.
- 38:26But if you think those guys are better than Horvat, probably
- 38:29sell Borova right now. The Islanders power play
- 38:31significantly better than last year.
- 38:33Credit the Shafer. But right now, there's only
- 38:35three pure season fantasy who have been better on the season
- 38:38than Bohor Bat. It's Nathan MacKinnon.
- 38:41It's Leo Carlson and Macklin. Celebrity.
- 38:43Now two or three names you probably did not expect to be on
- 38:46this list going into the year. They've been illy delete,
- 38:49delete. But bore Horvat is not the 4th
- 38:51best pure C in fantasy. His shooting percentage right
- 38:55now is 21 percent. 21% of his shots are goals.
- 38:58His career averages 13.7. Every time he shoots it goes in
- 39:02like I keep watching like Islanders highlights.
- 39:03I had him on my team until this past week and it's just like
- 39:06Horvat goes and just like a random RIP from like above the
- 39:08you know, circle or whatever and just goes in every time.
- 39:11And there's something to be said about players play with
- 39:13confidence and keeping this up. Like clearly honestly is at 1.3
- 39:16where a month and 1/2 into the season.
- 39:19But I do not expect this to last.
- 39:21I can see him ending the season at like a point per game pace
- 39:25which is already a huge step up from last year.
- 39:28It was 0.7. Well point begin would be huge
- 39:32jump up from there. It would also be a huge drop
- 39:35from where he's currently at if he's at 1.43 points per game.
- 39:39So all that to be said, yes you can be excited about Bohor but
- 39:43on your fantasy team, but also it's the perfect time to
- 39:46capitalize on this and tier up. Especially the centre position
- 39:49because you can do centre to centre is easy to make the
- 39:52comparison when you're trading with somebody.
- 39:53But there's also like a lot of cross position trades that you
- 39:56can do with a guy that's just like being elite across the
- 39:58board at fantasy hockey. I think you can aim high.
- 40:01I think you should aim high but also you have to make sure you
- 40:04getting fair value. Like I'm not saying get bored
- 40:06that is going to play the ninth round pick.
- 40:08Get him off your roster ASAP before he comes down.
- 40:10Black Earth you need to get fair value, but you can fair value
- 40:14right now is a very high pick, so you have to make sure you're
- 40:17getting that. Here are a few targets I think
- 40:19you should aim for. I'm not saying this is a one for
- 40:22one. I think these are guys with how
- 40:23boring is playing right now, you need to try to trade four.
- 40:27I think you need to try to trade for kucherov.
- 40:30Josh pulled that off amazingly. I think you need to trade for
- 40:34Austin Matthews right now who is currently on IR for at least a
- 40:38week. It shouldn't be long term, but
- 40:40Matthews is also not been first round pick.
- 40:43Matthews thus far he's still been great but he hasn't been
- 40:45game breaking elite Bohas been better.
- 40:48You can trade Borat for Matthews and I'm not saying one for one.
- 40:50I'm saying in a package you need to try to make these trades
- 40:53happen. These are guys you should target
- 40:55Jack Hughes as well. Jack Hughes just cut his hand at
- 40:58dinner with his team and he's and he's out.
- 41:01He's actually crazy. We talked about Jacques being
- 41:05injury prone, he's always missing time and whatnot.
- 41:07This interested even happened on the ice.
- 41:08He was a dinner. Guy didn't even happen at the
- 41:10rink. He's not even safe from his
- 41:12fortune lives anymore. I was gonna say, how hard was he
- 41:15going at this stage? You know, it's like.
- 41:20But these are all like huge names that we know are fantasy
- 41:24game Breakers that I think there's a realistic trait that
- 41:27you can put Horvat plus one guy or a three for two or even A3
- 41:31for one like Josh did and get these guys on your roster.
- 41:34If you're looking across position, I think your Warminski
- 41:37right now, I think Winski was a top three fantasy defenseman
- 41:39coming into the season. He's not performing at the level
- 41:42that he was last year, but he's underlying metrics still.
- 41:43There's still shooting. He's still blocking Columbus.
- 41:46Yeah, going through stress right now, but I want if you need
- 41:49defensemen and you have too many centres, a lot of leagues only
- 41:52play with two centre positions. You can get Horvat, Florence.
- 41:55You think one for one, that's a very feasible trade.
- 41:57You could even make it a bigger trade and get even more value
- 41:59out of it if you can get Panarin.
- 42:02I think JT Miller is still named to highlight.
- 42:04Like the Rangers have seemingly turned things around and JT
- 42:07Miller is still, I think the only, you know, high name Ranger
- 42:11that hasn't completely had the flipping value yet.
- 42:13Like he's still kind of trying to get points on the board.
- 42:17I think if you wanna goalie, I think you can get Vasilevsky.
- 42:20I think that's the one for one trade that with how boring is
- 42:22performing right now. He's he's ranked 7th in our
- 42:24league. Our league has face off wins,
- 42:26shorties and and every category you can imagine of you can
- 42:28imagine. I think you can trade board for
- 42:32best left you one for one. If the manager is no needs
- 42:36points, that's something that will be super tempting for them.
- 42:39But all that to say, these are listed high level names.
- 42:42Do due diligence, make sure getting fair value, but you have
- 42:44to capitalize on your performance right now.
- 42:47Yeah, I fully agree with everything you saying, obviously
- 42:49because I did it. But no, it's I mean, he's been
- 42:53such a joy to have on my team. What an amazing surprise.
- 42:58But it's like having said he's not gonna be bad.
- 43:00He's gonna be sick this year. Like he's not gonna drop to what
- 43:03he was last year, but there's no way he's gonna maintain this
- 43:06pace. So if you can get him for if you
- 43:07get like a first round pick for him in return then even in a
- 43:10package or one for one, then I love it.
- 43:11So I fully agree with everything Kevin said there.
- 43:14You have to at least try. Yeah, you have to try me do
- 43:18Jakey's choice. This is a good one.
- 43:20So sell high for Jakey this week is a guy who terrorized me last
- 43:25week and his one fantasy relevant week in the past like 3
- 43:29years. Miro Heiskanen of the Dallas
- 43:31Stars. I'm going to read Jake's blurb.
- 43:34This is an interesting one because everything is adding up
- 43:36for he's going to be a monster. He's turning 26 year old this
- 43:39year. That's crazy.
- 43:40I thought he was older entering the prime of his career is on
- 43:42what was probably the best offensive team in the NHL.
- 43:44He was drafted third overall, one pick over Mccarroll, and has
- 43:48always had a amazing offensive potential.
- 43:50That being said, he said enough of a sample size in his career
- 43:52to show that he's not a top five defenseman for fantasy hockey
- 43:55yet. He's on pace to be top 3 and #1
- 43:57in the past two weeks it's looking like he'll keep one.
- 44:00And of course that's intriguing. But there are places you can
- 44:02trade him. There are players you can trade
- 44:04him for that are much more reliable and have a higher floor
- 44:06and ceiling. If you look at his career points
- 44:08log, he's only had one amazing year three years ago where he
- 44:11scored 73 points and 79 games, but since then he had 54 and 71
- 44:14and then 25 and 50 last year. I expect he'll hit the 55 mark
- 44:18this year, which is nice, but this piece is the highest BE
- 44:20scoring at this year. Essentially.
- 44:22I think you could send him for any defenseman outside of
- 44:23Mccarran Hughes and even if you have a small piece, add a small
- 44:26piece to get it done. It's worth it and some targets
- 44:29that he put Lane Hudson, Evan Bouchard, Jake Sanderson, Zach
- 44:33Werenski and to give two forward names, Philip Forsberg and Dylan
- 44:36Gunther. And he says, curious what you
- 44:38guys think about this last one. So I'll comment on it because I
- 44:41was just reading what he said. This is amazing.
- 44:43I like everything he's saying. I love all the depth you went
- 44:46into with the career stats and all that.
- 44:49Of course, he mentions his draft pedigree because it's shaky and
- 44:51he loves that stuff. I'm surprised that the junior
- 44:53numbers didn't make it into this.
- 44:54But but no, he's gonna 6 cell high.
- 44:58One thing that Jackie didn't mention, which is an even bigger
- 45:01reason why sell high is that Dallas power play has been at an
- 45:04unreal pace the past two weeks and it's just not sustainable.
- 45:07Like they could still end up being the best power play in the
- 45:09league and it's not gonna be what they've been in the past
- 45:11two weeks. I know that why Johnston was is
- 45:13averaging a point per game, a power play point per game over
- 45:16the past two weeks. So and I know he's gonna has
- 45:18been a part of that a lot. So I do think he cemented his
- 45:22power play one spot, which is huge for his value, but there's
- 45:24no way that it's going to stay this high.
- 45:26I agree that you can pretty much aim for almost any defenseman.
- 45:29I honestly, I think he was you game for Makar.
- 45:31You can't. But like I even think you can
- 45:33aim for Hughes. So add that to the list of
- 45:34targets. I would take cues over him.
- 45:37I take Bouchard, Sanderson, Warenski.
- 45:38Hudson is an interesting 1. The Habs are in a bit of a slump
- 45:41right now. They have some injuries.
- 45:42So I think you could definitely I was gonna say I think you get
- 45:45Hudson plus and I'd like that Forsberg out definitely take
- 45:47over him and throw take over him.
- 45:49And I think this is all of these are achievable.
- 45:51So I really like everything he went with here.
- 45:53I feel like Haitian has always had the big name and he's on
- 45:56Dallas, one of the best teams. Like we said, they look like a
- 46:00juggernaut. They just beat to have 7 real
- 46:01guys, 7 zeros it was and we got. Like 2 massive injuries off
- 46:05yeah, depressed, but it's OK yeah.
- 46:07But he still has the name. He still has the name Paul.
- 46:10And in previous years like he's in has not been a fantasy
- 46:12defence. When you are on your roster, I
- 46:13feel like it's just been one of those guys that you drift off
- 46:15name value and then you're stuck holding because you wanna drop
- 46:18him. He's too good to drop because of
- 46:20the name. But he's not good for fantasy
- 46:22this year. He's great for fantasy.
- 46:24So you capitalize, capitalize on that right now because he's
- 46:28playing out of his mind. Love all the targets, like you
- 46:31said. I think the only one that's a
- 46:32little bit of an asterisk with Lynn Hudson because the Habs are
- 46:34in a slump right now. But long term would I rather
- 46:37have Hudson or he's gonna probably Hudson.
- 46:39But right now that feels like super 1 sided.
- 46:41You could get Hudson plus yeah, so do you.
- 46:43Due diligence is on your team. Just know what he's doing right
- 46:46now is not going to stay. We've seen it in the past.
- 46:50Sell them while you can. Tear up, tear up.
- 46:53That's how you win fantasy championships.
- 46:54You tear up. Get Bouchard, gets Anderson, get
- 46:56Werenski. You'll be thankful after.
- 46:59Yeah, and all that to say like he's not gonna drop off and be
- 47:01fantasy irrelevant rest of the year, but just he's not gonna be
- 47:03this good, right. I think that wraps up our buy
- 47:07low, sell high for. Week 7 yes, if you guys made it
