- 0:29I Hate Talking: All right, so we have a special guest here to give his perspective on the word poutine.
- 0:35I Hate Talking: It's me, Tzu.
- 0:38I Hate Talking: Uh, this is my 2nd, maybe 3rd time being here, I think.
- 0:44I Hate Talking: Yeah, I think that's correct.
- 0:46I Hate Talking: So, would you like to give our audience your best guess on what the word poutine means?
- 0:53I Hate Talking: Well, um, The other host, the girl one, she kinda gave it away and said his food.
- 1:02I Hate Talking: So I'm thinking it's some sort of like, I don't know, type of dessert maybe.
- 1:07I Hate Talking: I would imagine that some people could eat it as a dessert, but it's not typically a dessert.
- 1:13I Hate Talking: OK, that's just a guess.
- 1:15I Hate Talking: They do eat it in Canada.
- 1:17I Hate Talking: Am I meant to know about not Canada, Canada.
- 1:24I Hate Talking: Yeah, I guess you've never been there, so you would not know much about Canada.
- 1:28I Hate Talking: All I know is that they have, they're known for maple syrup and they have a leaf for a flag, a maple leaf in fact.
- 1:36I Hate Talking: So poutine.
- 1:38I Hate Talking: Would you like to know what it is?
- 1:40I Hate Talking: Yes.
- 1:41I Hate Talking: So it is french fries or some sort of fried potato.
- 1:45I Hate Talking: So, so far you probably like that, right?
- 1:48I Hate Talking: Yeah, it has cheese curds.
- 1:52I Hate Talking: Um, I ate cheese on fries.
- 1:56I Hate Talking: Wait, what's the difference?
- 1:58I Hate Talking: What's a curd?
- 1:59I Hate Talking: So cheese curds are sort of like the leftover cheese parts that you would find sort of in like cottage cheese, so like the chunky parts of cottage cheese are cheese curds.
- 2:09I Hate Talking: I guess it sounds a kind of normal so far, or is that it?
- 2:16I Hate Talking: And then there's gravy on top.
- 2:18I Hate Talking: Awkward silence.
- 2:21I Hate Talking: No.
- 2:22I Hate Talking: So the gravy sounds like something that would be not as disgusting disgusting.
- 2:32I Hate Talking: Yes.
- 2:33I Hate Talking: Now we did discuss that there could be gravy on potatoes, but normally that would be like mashed potatoes for like Thanksgiving.
- 2:39I Hate Talking: And cheese.
- 2:41I Hate Talking: They added gravy plus cheese.
- 2:44I Hate Talking: So gravy cheese is sort of the combination that sounds disgusting to you.
- 2:49I Hate Talking: Yes, potatoes.
- 2:52I Hate Talking: So if you had potatoes with cheese, that sounds good.
- 2:55I Hate Talking: Or if you had potatoes with gravy, that sounds good.
- 2:58I Hate Talking: But the combination of all three is disgusting.
- 3:02I Hate Talking: Yes.
- 3:02I Hate Talking: All right, well, there you go.
- 3:04I Hate Talking: And now you know what poutine is, and perhaps you'll try it one day or maybe you'll just avoid it because it sounds disgusting.
- 3:13I Hate Talking: I'm going to try it, so maybe next time I'm.
- 3:17I Hate Talking: And a guest of another one of these episodes, I'll tell you my review.
- 3:22I Hate Talking: So anyway, I was just helping out with the intro.
- 3:26I Hate Talking: And in fact, I think we'll make this some bonus content, bonus content.
- 3:31I Hate Talking: I DK Zoo, talk about.
- 3:36I Hate Talking: Potatoes with cheese and gravy, that's absolutely disgusting.
- 3:42I Hate Talking: And there you have it.
- 3:44I Hate Talking: We'll see you next time.
- 3:45I Hate Talking: Bye.
