- 0:00Speaker 1: At your early morning praise party. I am Sherry Mackie
- 0:04Speaker 1: at his time right now for today's word refuged, restored, renewed,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Mark six point thirty one says, then Jesus said, let's
- 0:15Speaker 1: go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Awhile he said this because there were so many people
- 0:23Speaker 1: coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn't even
- 0:27Speaker 1: have time to eat. You know, we live in a
- 0:31Speaker 1: culture that celebrates being busy. They celebrate being exhausted, they
- 0:36Speaker 1: celebrate being overcommitted. Somewhere along the way, rest became a
- 0:42Speaker 1: luxury instead of a necessity. But Jesus shows us something
- 0:47Speaker 1: powerful in this verse. He didn't just value rest, He
- 0:52Speaker 1: commanded it. Even while healing, even while teaching, even while
- 0:57Speaker 1: changing the world, he paused and said, let's get away,
- 1:01Speaker 1: let's be refreshed. You are created as a three part
- 1:06Speaker 1: being spiritual, physical, and emotional. When one part is neglected,
- 1:12Speaker 1: the others suffer. You can pray faithful, as you can work,
- 1:16Speaker 1: worship deeply, and you can believe God for breakthroughs. But
- 1:21Speaker 1: if your body is worn down, if your emotions are drained,
- 1:25Speaker 1: and if your mind is overwhelmed, you won't be able
- 1:28Speaker 1: to enjoy the fullness of what God has for you.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You can't live on empty and expect to run with strength.
- 1:37Speaker 1: You can't ignore rest and still stay passionate. You can't
- 1:41Speaker 1: pour into everyone else without ever letting God pour into you. Hello, somebody.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Some people are discouraged. Some people are tired. Some people
- 1:49Speaker 1: are lacking joy, not because they lack faith, but because
- 1:54Speaker 1: they lack balance. They're praying for miracles yet ignoring the
- 1:58Speaker 1: wisdom God already gave them. Slow down, rest, take care
- 2:04Speaker 1: of yourself. Jesus didn't say try harder. He didn't say
- 2:10Speaker 1: work hard or work longer. He said come away and rest.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Living balanced doesn't mean living selfish. It means living wisely.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It means giving your spirit time with God, your body
- 2:26Speaker 1: proper rest and nourishment, and your emotion space to breathe
- 2:30Speaker 1: and reset. When you do that, you become stronger, You
- 2:34Speaker 1: become clearer, and you become more effective. Balance doesn't make
- 2:40Speaker 1: you weaker, It makes you sustainable. It doesn't slow your purpose,
- 2:44Speaker 1: It protects it. God is not impressed by burnout. He
- 2:48Speaker 1: desires your wholeness. When you care for every part of yourself,
- 2:52Speaker 1: you honor the life He entrusted to you, and when
- 2:56Speaker 1: you live balanced, you will walk in greater peace, greater energy,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and greater purpose. You were not created to merely survive.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You were created to thrive. Oh Father God, thank you
- 3:11Speaker 1: for reminding us that rest is holy and that balance
- 3:15Speaker 1: is wisdom. Thank you for our body, thank you for
- 3:18Speaker 1: our mind, thank you for our spirit, and thank you
- 3:20Speaker 1: for teaching us how to care for each one. Help
- 3:24Speaker 1: us to slow down when we need to, and to
- 3:27Speaker 1: rest when we're tired, and to live in the fall
- 3:30Speaker 1: that you design for us. God, we choose balance, we
- 3:33Speaker 1: choose peace, and we choose life in Jesus' name. Hey,
- 3:38Speaker 1: that's your word for today. Take it. You be refuged, restored,
- 3:43Speaker 1: and renewed. It's your early morning praise party. I am
- 3:46Speaker 1: Sherry Mackie.
