- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is magic.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of Scotty and Abbey Unfiltered. And
- 0:07Speaker 2: as we jump in, I do need to just start
- 0:09Speaker 2: by apologizing to you. Abby. There's something I did over
- 0:12Speaker 2: the weekend that has just been eating me alive and
- 0:16Speaker 2: I wanted to talk about it here ken to just
- 0:18Speaker 2: see how you're feeling about it, Okay, to acknowledge it.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I keep canceling on you, you do be.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I feel so bad and it's not my typical way.
- 0:27Speaker 2: So just to kind of catch you up. Over the weekend, well,
- 0:30Speaker 2: we had these plans that Abby and I were going
- 0:32Speaker 2: to go over and hang out with this club m
- 0:34Speaker 2: Effers that Don't Run. They're doing an event over at
- 0:37Speaker 2: the good Night John Boyd, this awesome dance club, which
- 0:41Speaker 2: you love at.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Me, you know I love it.
- 0:42Speaker 4: I know see them especially after let me reb some
- 0:45Speaker 4: more salt in the wound. It was supposed to be
- 0:46Speaker 4: Charleston this weekend for my birthday. The second time I've
- 0:49Speaker 4: had to chance, cancel a chancel, cancel a Charleston weekend
- 0:52Speaker 4: with my mom. I swear it's cursed because my grandma
- 0:55Speaker 4: is dying.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Oh, you are routing the.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Salt actually she's still in the hospital because she could
- 1:01Speaker 4: she could still make it.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So I have to also have to joke about this,
- 1:04Speaker 1: so like, please don't be like such.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I had to cancels weekend. So I'm like, you know what,
- 1:07Speaker 4: it'll be fine. I'll go to I'll go to run
- 1:08Speaker 4: club and we'll go to Good Night John Boy. It'll
- 1:10Speaker 4: be so fun and you know, all of the chill
- 1:12Speaker 4: rest of the weekend.
- 1:13Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm sorry.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It comes around no one person to hang out with
- 1:17Speaker 4: in this new city that I've just moved to.
- 1:19Speaker 2: You know. So here's what's okay, Like there's I can't
- 1:22Speaker 2: even disclose everything, but life behind the scenes has been
- 1:26Speaker 2: a effing tornado.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I know, like there's so many good things going on.
- 1:30Speaker 4: I feel like your life is a hurricane and my
- 1:33Speaker 4: life is a tornado.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Okay, that's valid. Like it's like I don't even know
- 1:38Speaker 2: what would.
- 1:39Speaker 1: The difference I feel.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I feel like a tornado is like and a hurricane
- 1:48Speaker 4: is more like okay.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, where it's like these gusts that are coming
- 1:52Speaker 2: through and like for the most part where like I'm okay,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and then it's like a gust will come by and
- 1:57Speaker 2: it like hits me in the face or like knocks
- 1:59Speaker 2: off a shingle off my root from the Yeah, damn it,
- 2:01Speaker 2: that's gonna be another repair.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And you also just like hate Louisiana. Oh god.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Well on Saturday, I worked an event Friday night, and
- 2:09Speaker 2: then on Saturday morning, I got up to go MCEE
- 2:11Speaker 2: in another event, and then I was driving out of
- 2:13Speaker 2: Newport Richie, which is about an hour from my house.
- 2:15Speaker 2: And as I was driving, I got the text from
- 2:17Speaker 2: Abbey that's like, hey, you still down, and I was like,
- 2:20Speaker 2: I was. I was like falling asleep at the way,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and I'm like, I gotta just be honest here. I
- 2:24Speaker 2: don't think I'm gonna make it. And you know what,
- 2:26Speaker 2: And I appreciate that. I knew you would understand, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: it still still does suck. Canceling because I got to
- 2:33Speaker 2: the event, I'm like, damn it. I hate when I
- 2:35Speaker 2: have to like call out, but I'm having to do
- 2:38Speaker 2: it more for myself now, like something I've done recently.
- 2:41Speaker 3: As I've said, no, more than I've ever have.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I feel like I started this monster.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Like I feel like you never did this until Radio
- 2:47Speaker 4: Ethon when you were supposed to drive to Fort Myers,
- 2:51Speaker 4: Fort myers to get a freaking paan yeah, and I'm like,
- 2:56Speaker 4: have you heard of the word no?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Well, I'm just such a people pleaser and I feel
- 3:01Speaker 2: bad for letting other people down. And so what I'm
- 3:04Speaker 2: trying to get better at is like understanding where I'm at.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And then also like what I'm not so good at
- 3:09Speaker 2: but I'm getting better at is understanding what future Scott needs.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And so the past couple of weeks have just been
- 3:14Speaker 2: crazy where it's like constantly being asked to do things,
- 3:16Speaker 2: working every day on the weekend, like doing all these things.
- 3:19Speaker 2: And so I got to this week and I was like,
- 3:20Speaker 2: I am out. I have nothing left to give. And
- 3:23Speaker 2: I was supposed to go to a birthday party that
- 3:24Speaker 2: Saturday night. So I first canceled on Abbey and then
- 3:27Speaker 2: I told my friend who was at my house. I
- 3:29Speaker 2: was like, dude, I'm gonna cancel on you too. I'm
- 3:30Speaker 2: not gonna make their Luckily, I wasn't like the main
- 3:33Speaker 2: person to be there. I was like a friend of
- 3:35Speaker 2: a friend.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 3: So I told my friend.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Who was like he was really, there's other people I
- 3:39Speaker 2: was going to be happy to see. He was the
- 3:41Speaker 2: main reason I was going to be there. Luckily I
- 3:42Speaker 2: was seeing him in that moment. I was like, bro,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I'm not gonna make it. He was like completely understandable,
- 3:47Speaker 2: and so I literally just sat there with my dog
- 3:50Speaker 2: and I just completely recharged. And as much as I
- 3:53Speaker 2: am sorry for canceling you, I needed it so bad.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I get it because I literally I just I did.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I sat on the couch, nothing was a TV. I
- 4:00Speaker 2: put my head on the pillow. It was like three
- 4:01Speaker 2: o'clock and I woke up like two hours later. I
- 4:03Speaker 2: was like, oh my god, where am I?
- 4:06Speaker 1: Who am I? What's my name?
- 4:08Speaker 3: What did I need?
- 4:09Speaker 2: And it's like You're that's your body's sign of saying, like, bro,
- 4:12Speaker 2: you need to.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Take a chill.
- 4:13Speaker 4: And I get that you haven't been getting a lot
- 4:14Speaker 4: of sleep recently.
- 4:15Speaker 2: It has been a little wild. And then but then
- 4:18Speaker 2: I feel even more bad than I saw a text
- 4:21Speaker 2: you have me. I was like, hey, are you on
- 4:23Speaker 2: Central in downtown Saint Vite And I.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Was like trying to hang out with my new friend Scott,
- 4:27Speaker 1: I know, and I.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Saw it and I was like, there is Oh.
- 4:30Speaker 2: If I had any more energy, I would have been like,
- 4:32Speaker 2: let's go. I'm gonna go out. I'm gonna join ABT
- 4:34Speaker 2: because it was like nighttime. I was like eight o'clock
- 4:36Speaker 2: or something.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I made a whole new crew.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I saw, I know, see how resilient you are, and
- 4:41Speaker 2: that's you know what, Maybe there's there's a reason for it.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But when you texted me that, I was like, ah,
- 4:45Speaker 2: no way. I was curling up on the I was
- 4:47Speaker 2: watching the new show Beef season two. Yeah, and I
- 4:50Speaker 2: was like so into it and so cozy and so tired.
- 4:53Speaker 4: So you're watching a show about beef while I'm one
- 4:56Speaker 4: sidedly having beef with you.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I know.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I'm sitting there texting all fifteen people I know in
- 5:00Speaker 4: the Tampa Bay area. I'm like, hey, well, you know
- 5:03Speaker 4: how much it sucks to get the text back.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Oh no, I can't. Sorry I can't. Oh I would
- 5:07Speaker 1: have loved to. Sorry can't. It's to last minute.
- 5:09Speaker 3: They're all saying that, and I'm sitting there.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Being like I should be seven Aparol Sprints is deep
- 5:13Speaker 4: right now in Charleston, but I'm not because.
- 5:15Speaker 1: My grandma is dying and here I am sitting at home.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Oh and so finally on Saturday, I got to a
- 5:24Speaker 4: point where I was so fed up.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That I was like, listen, I am in a prison
- 5:27Speaker 1: of my own making. Right now.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I can either sit at home and get a drink
- 5:30Speaker 4: by myself later, like I typically do in Channel Side,
- 5:33Speaker 4: I go, I sit at a bar by myself. I
- 5:35Speaker 4: think it's gonna be kind of fun. It never is,
- 5:37Speaker 4: or sometimes it is. Sometimes it is fun. But I
- 5:39Speaker 4: was like, I can either do that or I can
- 5:42Speaker 4: just go to run club.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Wait a second, did you go?
- 5:46Speaker 1: I did go to run club?
- 5:47Speaker 3: Oh my god. Okay, I didn't know that because here's
- 5:49Speaker 3: all I saw.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Because after I said no to Abby, I was like,
- 5:51Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm a dick.
- 5:53Speaker 3: I suck.
- 5:53Speaker 2: She's here trying to explore a new city and I only
- 5:56Speaker 2: have the energy to leave my front door. And then
- 5:58Speaker 2: I saw this video in your inst story that's like
- 6:00Speaker 2: you and some girlies like where the hell is that?
- 6:01Speaker 4: Mey?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Like that looks fun as hell, and I was like,
- 6:04Speaker 2: honestly thinking, I was like, see.
- 6:05Speaker 1: What happens when you leave your house?
- 6:06Speaker 4: You know?
- 6:08Speaker 1: So it happens when you don't cancel on your friends.
- 6:10Speaker 2: That's so true.
- 6:10Speaker 1: We have dyingcards.
- 6:15Speaker 3: So you did end up going to mffors that don't run?
- 6:17Speaker 1: I did.
- 6:18Speaker 4: I decided to show and literally The only reason I
- 6:21Speaker 4: decided to show up was a because as a woman,
- 6:23Speaker 4: you have so few saturdays in the month where you
- 6:26Speaker 4: like don't hate yourself. And I was like, you know what,
- 6:29Speaker 4: I can't sit at home with my stomach looking like.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I'm looking.
- 6:35Speaker 1: It was like gorgeous out again.
- 6:38Speaker 4: I was supposed to have plans all this weekend, so
- 6:39Speaker 4: I was, you know, sitting at home because my parents
- 6:41Speaker 4: are currently with my dad's mom, you know, and like,
- 6:44Speaker 4: what the worst case scenario is that it's a huge
- 6:47Speaker 4: disappointment that it's boring, and I go home, And I
- 6:49Speaker 4: was like, either way, I'm gonna be sitting in some disappointment,
- 6:52Speaker 4: so why not at least take the chance to have
- 6:54Speaker 4: some fun. So I go on Saturday to the Saint
- 6:58Speaker 4: Pete Chapter of other Fuckers who don't under whatever it's called,
- 7:01Speaker 4: because it's like, good night, John Boyd. This bar that
- 7:03Speaker 4: I love because you get to dance up. And I
- 7:06Speaker 4: show up and I didn't know what to expect because
- 7:09Speaker 4: the Tampa one is like freaking rowdy. There's like one
- 7:12Speaker 4: hundred and fifty people, two hundred people every week, and
- 7:15Speaker 4: so I was a little nervous.
- 7:16Speaker 2: No good, I'm not gonna know anybody. Yeah, it's a
- 7:19Speaker 2: weird thought.
- 7:20Speaker 4: And so I think because this chapter is newer and
- 7:21Speaker 4: it's also on Saturdays, it was a much more low
- 7:23Speaker 4: key crowd.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Oh, so I roll up. I just go talk to
- 7:26Speaker 1: our friends that run it. I'm like, hey, I'm Mabby.
- 7:28Speaker 1: You remember me, and the like we remember you.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I was like hell yeah, and I was like, well, no,
- 7:32Speaker 4: thank you for remembering me because I don't know anyone here.
- 7:35Speaker 4: And then I saw these two girls at the bar
- 7:37Speaker 4: and I you know when you see someone and you're like, oh,
- 7:39Speaker 4: we would be friends.
- 7:40Speaker 1: They just similar vibe. I'm like, oh, those girls look
- 7:42Speaker 1: like me.
- 7:43Speaker 4: So I bopped over and I was like, hi, my
- 7:44Speaker 4: name's Ubu ninety twins, and then we had some mutuals.
- 7:49Speaker 4: They one of them went to f SU, one went
- 7:50Speaker 4: to Vanderbilt, and we like knew some of the same people.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And we just just hung out. It was so fun.
- 7:55Speaker 3: That is so cool. I am giving you so much
- 7:58Speaker 3: kudos for doing like that.
- 8:00Speaker 2: That is amazing because it's social as I like to
- 8:03Speaker 2: be god, to go out like and just take a
- 8:08Speaker 2: go off on a whim and just see what happens.
- 8:10Speaker 2: That takes courage. It really do be and it like
- 8:13Speaker 2: pays off in cool ways. It does, And so did y'all.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Just at that point you're hanging out at the bar
- 8:18Speaker 2: you're at, was this that good night John Boy?
- 8:20Speaker 4: This is a good night John Boy. We did our
- 8:21Speaker 4: little walk you walk because it's again the Run club
- 8:23Speaker 4: where you just kind of walk and then you go
- 8:24Speaker 4: back to the bar. Yeah, we hung out, and so
- 8:27Speaker 4: that's when I was like, oh my god, they like me.
- 8:29Speaker 4: So we hung out and we bopped around a little
- 8:31Speaker 4: bit around Central. We went to Tony D's for a
- 8:33Speaker 4: sub and then we walked by good Night John Boy again.
- 8:36Speaker 4: Because we were making this plan, I was like, I'll
- 8:38Speaker 4: go out like I've got an outfit in my car,
- 8:40Speaker 4: I'll go out. You're ready, I'm ready. But they were like,
- 8:44Speaker 4: let's go home, let's like recharge. Why don't you go home?
- 8:47Speaker 4: Uber back and then you know, we'll go out again.
- 8:49Speaker 2: My thought is, shit, why would you go home like
- 8:51Speaker 2: not when the momentums go in so strong?
- 8:53Speaker 1: I know, the momentum is so important.
- 8:55Speaker 4: The thing is, the one downside about the Run Club
- 8:57Speaker 4: being at three is it kind of cuts your day
- 8:59Speaker 4: in a half, where if you don't live in Saint
- 9:01Speaker 4: Pete like me where, I'm like, the way down here,
- 9:03Speaker 4: you know, I'm gonna drive back, But they were like,
- 9:05Speaker 4: let's go out around ten.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I'm like, well, what's four? So it gives me.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Enough hour to like drive there or drive back or whatever.
- 9:10Speaker 4: So we walk by good Night john Boy on my
- 9:12Speaker 4: way to the car and it is bumping and I
- 9:14Speaker 4: look at them.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I was like, we have to go in. We have
- 9:16Speaker 1: to go in.
- 9:16Speaker 4: And then there's kind of like a natural break in music,
- 9:18Speaker 4: and I go, okay, let's go and then go back out.
- 9:21Speaker 4: So I go back to my house, I put on
- 9:23Speaker 4: my outfit, and then I uber back and they weren't
- 9:26Speaker 4: going to meet me out until about ten, and so
- 9:29Speaker 4: I had had to reschedule that date with the twenty
- 9:31Speaker 4: five year old for this week, and I thought, you know,
- 9:34Speaker 4: I know he's out and I have a couple hours
- 9:37Speaker 4: to kill why don't we just meet so and I
- 9:39Speaker 4: linked up with him, and then I broke things off
- 9:42Speaker 4: with him, and then I met my friends out at
- 9:44Speaker 4: bar Mezzo.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Question, Wait a second, because we were talking about this
- 9:48Speaker 2: in the studio. You met up with him, Yeah, and
- 9:50Speaker 2: that's where you like kind of just decided let's just
- 9:53Speaker 2: put this to rest.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Well, because I mean, here's the thing, Like I.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I love to move. By the way, I'm not saying
- 9:57Speaker 2: it's a bad move. I'm like, oh wow, that's very mature.
- 10:00Speaker 4: In the early stages of dating, I just like to
- 10:02Speaker 4: kind of weave them into my schedule because otherwise I
- 10:05Speaker 4: feel like it puts too much not pressure, what's the
- 10:09Speaker 4: right word to where it just feels like there's too
- 10:10Speaker 4: hot of a spotlight on it.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, it's like it's it's I don't want I
- 10:15Speaker 2: don't want to waste time. It's too early on.
- 10:17Speaker 4: And so I'm thinking, oh my god, it's another day.
- 10:19Speaker 4: I got a drink during the week, you know. So
- 10:21Speaker 4: I'm thinking if I can just come, I'm already drunk.
- 10:23Speaker 4: So I'm like, i mean not drunk, but like you know,
- 10:24Speaker 4: I'm already a plenty to drink.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Yeah, so let me just you're in motion.
- 10:28Speaker 4: I'm in motion, there's momentum. I've already got an outfit on.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I don't have to like get ready again. So like,
- 10:32Speaker 4: let me just see if he wants to hang out.
- 10:34Speaker 4: So he was at the Raise game. We met at
- 10:36Speaker 4: a bar, hung out for about two hours, and then
- 10:38Speaker 4: I thought my friends were ditching me because I'm like, guys,
- 10:40Speaker 4: where are you We're supposed to meet at like nine thirty.
- 10:42Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 10:43Speaker 4: And so they finally texted me, met up with them,
- 10:46Speaker 4: and then yeah, we just kind of popped around.
- 10:48Speaker 1: We went to Easy Tiger.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of good things about Easy Tiger.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Alexia Alexia.
- 10:52Speaker 4: It's kind of like good Night John Boy without the
- 10:54Speaker 4: dancing like it has the similar It has more of
- 10:57Speaker 4: a mix of house music but also like seventies groove vibes,
- 11:00Speaker 4: but no one's dancing.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It's more of a cocktail bar.
- 11:01Speaker 4: See.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I like a good cocktail bar, but like what bothers me?
- 11:04Speaker 3: I guess you got to go.
- 11:05Speaker 2: There are certain places that dancing is that's what you're doing, and.
- 11:08Speaker 1: That's what I like to do.
- 11:09Speaker 4: I realize I like to dance, and there's a shortage
- 11:14Speaker 4: of dance bars in the Tampa Bay area.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yeah there is, But you also have to think, like
- 11:18Speaker 2: how many do you want? I mean, we got a
- 11:20Speaker 2: Good Night John Boy. If you want house music, you
- 11:22Speaker 2: go to Saigon Blonde, which is another place that's not
- 11:24Speaker 2: I know, it's definitely not your vibe. I don't like
- 11:26Speaker 2: a whoop woop the estate is like a club in
- 11:28Speaker 2: Saint Pete. That's an interesting vibe because it doesn't literally
- 11:31Speaker 2: pop off until like midnight. Okay, Like you go in
- 11:35Speaker 2: there and it could be completely empty from like ten
- 11:37Speaker 2: to midnight.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I can't do that.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I know.
- 11:39Speaker 3: It's a weird vibe unless you go with the girl.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Do you do this where like you go out with
- 11:42Speaker 2: girls and it's like you just want the whole dance
- 11:44Speaker 2: floor to yourself or would you rather crowded.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Dance you I like a crowded dance floor.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Okay, So I like an open floor, like, let me
- 11:49Speaker 2: do everything I want to do cartwheels. Oh really Yeah?
- 11:51Speaker 2: So you like a wedding. Yeah, yeah, you like a wedding.
- 11:54Speaker 2: I'm the guy at the wedding that I will start
- 11:56Speaker 2: things off. I will make sure people know it's acceptable,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and then I will step off off because I'm like,
- 12:01Speaker 2: I've done my job.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I've opened the dance floor. Go enjoy, gotcha?
- 12:04Speaker 1: So you just want to set the tone.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I do want to set the tone. I want to
- 12:07Speaker 2: make sure everyone has a good time and I get
- 12:08Speaker 2: set back.
- 12:08Speaker 4: I want it to be a comfortable amount of people
- 12:10Speaker 4: on the dance floor, like I want there to be
- 12:12Speaker 4: other people there because I'm there probably to meet others
- 12:15Speaker 4: or dance with others, whereas I can dance by myself
- 12:18Speaker 4: in my house. You know.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Oh that's well, that's true.
- 12:21Speaker 2: That's true, And I wonder if that will change when
- 12:23Speaker 2: like cause when you're crowded up, yes, there's a chance,
- 12:25Speaker 2: like you bump into mister Hans, yes, and it's like, okay,
- 12:29Speaker 2: opportunities arise. But when you're maybe hooked up, maybe you
- 12:34Speaker 2: just want to go out with the girls and just dance.
- 12:36Speaker 4: But sometimes like it gives you the opportunity to meet
- 12:38Speaker 4: other girls, that's true, and other women or you can
- 12:41Speaker 4: have or my favorite thing about going out is just
- 12:44Speaker 4: the characters that you meet. Like there was a tacos
- 12:47Speaker 4: and tequila festival out and so there was like a
- 12:49Speaker 4: group of maybe a bunch of women in their sixties
- 12:51Speaker 4: or fifties that came and we danced with them, and
- 12:54Speaker 4: like fun to me, that's fun, Like meeting the characters
- 12:57Speaker 4: when you go out and you're all vibing in the
- 13:00Speaker 4: same space and enjoying your night, that's fun to me.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That is cool.
- 13:04Speaker 2: And especially when I'm because I have different mindsets, like
- 13:07Speaker 2: sometimes I'm like, so about it, Like I'm down to
- 13:09Speaker 2: talk to the strangers and learn the stories and hear
- 13:11Speaker 2: about things that.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Will never matter after that night.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yes, But then there are some nights where I go out,
- 13:15Speaker 2: I'm like I could care less because I have a
- 13:18Speaker 2: friend that will literally talk to anybody, and we'll go
- 13:21Speaker 2: out and it's like we're walking and he starts a
- 13:22Speaker 2: conversation or walking you know, started out. I'm like, some
- 13:26Speaker 2: days I can't do it because just because I'm like,
- 13:28Speaker 2: where is this conversation going? Yeah, are we just taking
- 13:31Speaker 2: five minutes or ten minutes to talk about a watch
- 13:33Speaker 2: that we're never going to see this guy again?
- 13:34Speaker 1: Well, that's what I mean.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Is you have to choose your the way you spice
- 13:38Speaker 4: up your night selectively.
- 13:39Speaker 1: You don't give everyone your energy.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Well, I think that's the problem.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I think that's where I'm like, that's where the canceled
- 13:44Speaker 2: plans come in, because I've been giving everybody my energy
- 13:46Speaker 2: and I'm like, damn it, I don't have the energy
- 13:48Speaker 2: where it would be really useful to use this energy.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I get that I've depleted it.
- 13:51Speaker 4: And I think that's fair. So like me to me
- 13:54Speaker 4: talking to somebody about their watch, is that interesting. However,
- 13:57Speaker 4: if there's a group of hammered women in their sixties,
- 14:00Speaker 4: I agree, I want to dance with you.
- 14:02Speaker 1: That's hysterical to me.
- 14:03Speaker 4: If there's another group of girls out, and I have
- 14:05Speaker 4: another group of girls out and we're all doing the
- 14:07Speaker 4: same thing, Leed's vibe like maybe we'd be friends, obviously,
- 14:10Speaker 4: Like if you're single, you might meet a handsome gentleman
- 14:13Speaker 4: or lady, depending on what you're into.
- 14:15Speaker 2: So I always say, like anybody, like any of the
- 14:18Speaker 2: women that I've gone out with, got out with, met
- 14:21Speaker 2: up with, and like their sixties, like and they're just
- 14:23Speaker 2: having the time of their life, the ultimate wing woman,
- 14:26Speaker 2: like a person that's gonna hype you up. They want
- 14:28Speaker 2: to know about you. They're so interested, And that's honestly.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Like my lady, the one thing I tell her all
- 14:33Speaker 2: the time is I'm like, you will see me flirt
- 14:35Speaker 2: so hard with an older woman because I get like,
- 14:38Speaker 2: it's this sounds odd if you hear it out of context.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I get so much joy out of it, of like
- 14:42Speaker 2: making sure like you know, especially if I know, like
- 14:45Speaker 2: there's been some moms or even grandmothers that have not
- 14:47Speaker 2: been out for a long time, I want to make
- 14:49Speaker 2: them the star of the night.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 2: And then in return, they're like, oh my god, you
- 14:52Speaker 2: gotta meet so and so, and they'll just pop you
- 14:55Speaker 2: around the bar like you're like royalty, it's incredible.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great. You give a little you get.
- 15:00Speaker 2: That's a beautiful thing.
- 15:01Speaker 3: So you go out these girls.
- 15:02Speaker 2: What else are you?
- 15:03Speaker 3: Easy tiger?
- 15:04Speaker 4: It's easy tiger. And then that was the point in
- 15:06Speaker 4: the night where I'm like, once I sit down. I
- 15:08Speaker 4: think that's the other reason I like to chance is
- 15:09Speaker 4: the second I sit down, I want to go home.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Ah, because then I'm tired.
- 15:13Speaker 4: We started meeting other people that I didn't know, and
- 15:15Speaker 4: then I started getting lost in the conversation and I
- 15:17Speaker 4: just kept thinking about that forty five minute drive back
- 15:19Speaker 4: to Tampa, and I was like, nah, I gotta go.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I like, I mean, honestly, I'm somebody that I like
- 15:24Speaker 2: to leave before the night like burns out.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I like to leave on a high.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Or it's like things are so good and I'm like,
- 15:30Speaker 2: oh my god, guys, this is awesome, cannot wait to
- 15:33Speaker 2: do it again.
- 15:33Speaker 1: See you see you.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Or some people like to just ride that wave until
- 15:37Speaker 2: like four in the morning. Yeah, and it's like, oh
- 15:40Speaker 2: my god, that's where mistakes are made and things are
- 15:42Speaker 2: said and things not. Let me leave on the high,
- 15:45Speaker 2: so you want me back? And that might just be
- 15:46Speaker 2: an internal thought.
- 15:47Speaker 3: But that's dope, though hopefully that actually happens again.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Would you do it now, like again going out to
- 15:53Speaker 2: like one of these clubs?
- 15:54Speaker 4: Well, I think they're going to come with me to
- 15:55Speaker 4: the Tampa one because I told them the Tampa vibe
- 15:57Speaker 4: is very different because there's so many people. So we'll
- 16:00Speaker 4: hang out again at the Tampa ones. God willing, they're
- 16:03Speaker 4: out lying to me. I don't think they're we want
- 16:06Speaker 4: to hang out with you fuck her.
- 16:07Speaker 3: I don't think they would have met up with you.
- 16:09Speaker 2: If no, I know, because that would have sucked. It's like, okay,
- 16:12Speaker 2: we're going to meet him again at ten and then
- 16:15Speaker 2: you just never hear anything.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, oh horrible.
- 16:18Speaker 3: That would be horrible.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Would I do it again?
- 16:20Speaker 4: I mean maybe I do think. And I went into
- 16:24Speaker 4: the Run Club with like very reasonable expectations. I think
- 16:27Speaker 4: it's one thing to sit here and listen to me
- 16:29Speaker 4: and go, wow, I really should put myself in more
- 16:32Speaker 4: positions like that. That sounds so fun. I went into
- 16:34Speaker 4: that Run club fully thinking this probably will not be
- 16:38Speaker 4: fun because I'm showing up on myself, because it takes
- 16:41Speaker 4: somebody else showing up as well and having a fun vibe.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Like if those girls weren't there, I probably would have
- 16:47Speaker 4: showed up. Maybe there would have been somebody else I
- 16:49Speaker 4: would have talked to me. Who knows, maybe I would
- 16:51Speaker 4: have made another connection. I have no idea, but if
- 16:53Speaker 4: those girls hadn't been there, I might have had a
- 16:54Speaker 4: really bad time and gone home and been like, yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 1: It really sucked.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Yeah I know.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Sorry, but said it increases your odds, it increases your change.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And I said that as somebody that needs to remind
- 17:03Speaker 2: that of myself. I was on the phone with a
- 17:05Speaker 2: friend yesterday and dealing with some stuff and I'm like,
- 17:07Speaker 2: I really need to expand my circles. He's like yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 2: and I'm like, man, but then you got to put
- 17:11Speaker 2: yourself out there again. It's like and it's like we
- 17:13Speaker 2: talked about on the last podcast, the circles of where you.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Can meet people, it just gets smaller and smaller.
- 17:19Speaker 2: So it's okay when this run club meet this week,
- 17:21Speaker 2: it's like there's one at Thursday. I'm like, Thursday, I
- 17:24Speaker 2: don't want to go out during the week, but it's
- 17:26Speaker 2: a sacrifices that must be.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Made onred percent.
- 17:29Speaker 4: And I feel like I learned this from my friend Taylor,
- 17:31Speaker 4: Like she's very social. She always has something to do,
- 17:34Speaker 4: and it's because people know that she says yes to things.
- 17:36Speaker 4: And I admit only I am not that way, Like
- 17:38Speaker 4: I like having a close circle of friends. I like
- 17:40Speaker 4: having five people that I know, I get along with
- 17:42Speaker 4: and call it in a day. But I realized on Saturday,
- 17:45Speaker 4: I'm like, Okay, even though fifteen people just told me no,
- 17:48Speaker 4: it doesn't mean I don't have people in my corner.
- 17:50Speaker 4: But you know, if you want to increase your odds,
- 17:52Speaker 4: just expand the circle a little bit. Yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 2: And the thing that I run into, the problem I
- 17:56Speaker 2: have is that I always want to be invited instead
- 17:59Speaker 2: of inviting yes, And I have like there's a group
- 18:01Speaker 2: of friends that I'm just constantly I'm like watching their
- 18:03Speaker 2: stories and I'm like, why don't.
- 18:05Speaker 3: You ever invite me out?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Do you cancel?
- 18:08Speaker 3: I don't.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I'd rather be invited. See, I always want to be invited.
- 18:11Speaker 2: And I'll say that over and over again. Always give
- 18:13Speaker 2: me the invite, uh huh, and let me have the option,
- 18:17Speaker 2: because what sucks is like when you just see things
- 18:19Speaker 2: happen and you're like, that would have been fun. I
- 18:21Speaker 2: don't know if I would have said yes, but that
- 18:23Speaker 2: would have been fun. I would have liked to at
- 18:24Speaker 2: least been thought of. You know, Oh, I thought about you.
- 18:28Speaker 1: You did what you did to me.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And I appreciate that you did it twice and I
- 18:32Speaker 2: will make up for it. And I think, you know,
- 18:34Speaker 2: because we had a busy week.
- 18:35Speaker 3: We went to a lightning game. We went out for
- 18:37Speaker 3: your birthday.
- 18:38Speaker 4: We really did, And honestly, I felt like I couldn't
- 18:39Speaker 4: complain because I'm like, well, they hung out with me
- 18:41Speaker 4: on a Wednesday.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I went hard on a Wednesday.
- 18:43Speaker 1: And I was like, we went really hard.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I destroyed my Thursday for that Wednesday.
- 18:47Speaker 4: I would have been in a much worse position had
- 18:49Speaker 4: we not had fun on Wednday because I don't want to.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I didn't do anything for my birthday, Like, well.
- 18:53Speaker 2: You know what, I think we're going out if you
- 18:55Speaker 2: want on Saturday to a raise game?
- 18:58Speaker 1: What are you doing on the Who's going with you?
- 18:59Speaker 1: I need to know where?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Well I only know because my lady invited me. Oh,
- 19:03Speaker 2: you're trying to get like a bunch of friends going if.
- 19:05Speaker 4: You want to go to that, I have to figure
- 19:08Speaker 4: out whether or not I have to go to a funeral.
- 19:10Speaker 3: Gosh damn it, that sucks.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Yep.
- 19:13Speaker 3: So I'll let you know now with Okay, where.
- 19:17Speaker 2: This is you decide you could cut me off if
- 19:19Speaker 2: you want to. Yeah, where does your grandma live?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Pensacola?
- 19:22Speaker 3: Okay, And so youre is your whole family over there?
- 19:25Speaker 4: My mom, my dad, and my dad's side of the
- 19:27Speaker 4: family's over there.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Have they just been staying there this whole time?
- 19:29Speaker 4: Yeah, my mom drove up on Thursday. I've been monitoring
- 19:33Speaker 4: the situation all weekend with them.
- 19:35Speaker 3: And do you think you're going to make a trip
- 19:38Speaker 3: up there?
- 19:38Speaker 1: Well for the funeral? I will.
- 19:39Speaker 4: I think she's pretty kaoed right now. Yeah that, I
- 19:43Speaker 4: mean I could go down and see everybody. But also
- 19:45Speaker 4: that side of the family like cut us off. So
- 19:47Speaker 4: it's kind of awkward and weird. I mean, they're all
- 19:49Speaker 4: just kind of sitting in the hospital waiting for something
- 19:51Speaker 4: to occur.
- 19:52Speaker 2: It is like the worst time like to have that.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I know a lot of especially listening like we've all
- 19:57Speaker 2: had at least one moment like that where it's like
- 20:00Speaker 2: there's nothing you could do. You want to be there
- 20:01Speaker 2: to support, but there's literally nothing.
- 20:03Speaker 1: There's nothing you can do.
- 20:04Speaker 4: She also has de benchha, so she doesn't she's not
- 20:06Speaker 4: like fully sentient and stuff. And I also hate saying
- 20:08Speaker 4: this as if it's like an excuse, but we also
- 20:10Speaker 4: just weren't really close. That's valid, and just like I'm
- 20:12Speaker 4: not really close to that side of the family, so
- 20:14Speaker 4: obviously devastated that it's happening. You know, I'm really sad
- 20:17Speaker 4: for my dad, you know, Oh my god, senior dad
- 20:19Speaker 4: cry is the worst.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 20:21Speaker 4: And then she's gonna leave a husband behind if she
- 20:23Speaker 4: does pass, So I mean, it's awful.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It's it's really sad.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, especially to be able to when you
- 20:29Speaker 2: see family members go through the hurt. I think that's
- 20:31Speaker 2: the part that hurts, even if you're not really close
- 20:32Speaker 2: to that family member. Like I remember when my grandpa
- 20:35Speaker 2: passed and like that was the first time like I
- 20:37Speaker 2: saw my dad like crack.
- 20:38Speaker 3: You know, I'm like, that's my dad. You know, he
- 20:40Speaker 3: never cries and not the healthiest kind of male thing
- 20:43Speaker 3: to say.
- 20:43Speaker 2: But yeah, I was like fifteen and seeing him, I
- 20:48Speaker 2: lost it.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Like uncontrollable, Like first row, just bawling.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Watching my dad and like obviously, like I love my
- 20:55Speaker 2: grandpa and I got to, you know, spend a lot
- 20:57Speaker 2: of good time with him, but like it was my
- 20:59Speaker 2: dad that got me across Like, Okay, I'm wrecked. That's
- 21:03Speaker 2: so hard. Yeah, so I'm really sorry they're going through
- 21:06Speaker 2: that process.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yeah, And I when my mom's mom passed three or
- 21:10Speaker 4: four years ago. My mom's never really been the same since,
- 21:13Speaker 4: and so I think I'm also I have like a
- 21:15Speaker 4: little bit of pre anxiety for him, where I'm like,
- 21:18Speaker 4: how is this going to change?
- 21:19Speaker 1: My dad?
- 21:20Speaker 4: We're trying to look on the bright side of things, obviously,
- 21:22Speaker 4: because you know, she's in her nineties. I mean they
- 21:24Speaker 4: were married. We literally just celebrated like they're one hundred,
- 21:27Speaker 4: one hundreds, Like how I think they've been married for
- 21:30Speaker 4: seventy five years or something crazy.
- 21:32Speaker 1: That's why we just celebrated.
- 21:34Speaker 4: A huge milestone. They're one of those couples that met
- 21:36Speaker 4: when they were like nineteen, and my Granddaddy's like, yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 4: I just kept asking around until I said, yes, and
- 21:41Speaker 4: here we are.
- 21:42Speaker 2: That's right, you know what I feel like, especially older
- 21:45Speaker 2: folks because my grandparents, Like they're like they met in
- 21:47Speaker 2: like fifth grade.
- 21:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, how the hell?
- 21:50Speaker 2: But I do love, Like, I don't know how many
- 21:52Speaker 2: of people in our generation are gonna have that like
- 21:55Speaker 2: seventy fifth anniversary because you got to get together.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So early in the oh ye can like she's getting
- 22:03Speaker 1: cheated on. There's no hope for the rest of us.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Oh my god. But like what a milestone she is.
- 22:07Speaker 4: Know your fault disclaimer it's on Klay Thompson. But there's
- 22:10Speaker 4: men like that out there.
- 22:11Speaker 2: That is so true. I mean, but like hearing those stories,
- 22:14Speaker 2: this is where you know I'm a masculine male, but
- 22:18Speaker 2: damn I love a sappy love story.
- 22:20Speaker 1: No, it's beautiful.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Well it's like it makes me obviously not trying to
- 22:24Speaker 2: rush anything ever. Like but hearing somebody celebrate a seventy
- 22:28Speaker 2: fifth anniversary, I'm like, damn, Like, well.
- 22:31Speaker 3: I'd be able to do that because I'm about to
- 22:33Speaker 3: be thirty.
- 22:34Speaker 4: You know how long, how well you'll be dead by
- 22:36Speaker 4: the time seventy five comes around.
- 22:37Speaker 3: That's exactly what I'm saying. I've never get to see
- 22:39Speaker 3: that number.
- 22:40Speaker 2: You gonta get married like yesterday, I know, like I
- 22:42Speaker 2: didn't get married soon enough to be able to have
- 22:45Speaker 2: these milestones, not that they.
- 22:46Speaker 4: Sorry, you have to settle for seventy four.
- 22:49Speaker 1: Seventy four years, that would.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Still make me really freaking old. I'd be in my
- 22:53Speaker 2: one hundreds. Am I even gonna be able to hear
- 22:55Speaker 2: my wife at that point?
- 22:57Speaker 4: You'll probably be happy about that by then, thank god,
- 23:00Speaker 4: around year forty seven.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Shut up, Oh gosh.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I do think about weird things like that where it's
- 23:06Speaker 2: like either you know, the it goes back and forth.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Like friends that already have kids and are already married.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I'm like, Wow, you guys.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Get to share a lot of life together.
- 23:14Speaker 2: But I'm also like, wait a second, we have things
- 23:16Speaker 2: in our lives right now that I feel like that
- 23:19Speaker 2: section of like my friends won't get to experience until
- 23:21Speaker 2: their kids move out.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Uh huh.
- 23:23Speaker 3: So it's like a balanced equation.
- 23:25Speaker 4: No, I think. I think finding your person later in life,
- 23:27Speaker 4: even though it's hard, is a good thing because you
- 23:30Speaker 4: get to you have so little time to live life
- 23:34Speaker 4: on your own terms that if you don't take the opportunity.
- 23:37Speaker 1: In your twenties, you may never get that.
- 23:39Speaker 4: Because you know, I assume wance you find your person,
- 23:41Speaker 4: you kind of don't really want to say goodbye.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I would assume, I hope.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So you don't really want them to die or get divorced.
- 23:48Speaker 4: So even though it's hard, it'll be you know, if
- 23:51Speaker 4: that's what you want. It's like you're the one time
- 23:52Speaker 4: in your life you get to fully own your life.
- 23:56Speaker 3: I think that's what we're talking about.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I want to now. I was talking about this with
- 24:00Speaker 2: as well, like it's just having a chapter where I
- 24:01Speaker 2: live alone, like just before who knows what comes next,
- 24:05Speaker 2: but like having the section to live alone because it
- 24:07Speaker 2: might be the only time that might be it because
- 24:10Speaker 2: next thing, you know, wife, kids, life, and then you're
- 24:14Speaker 2: never alone never, I mean hopefully like a little bit
- 24:17Speaker 2: like you know, you go on a trim.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Well yeah, but I think about like my parents, you know,
- 24:22Speaker 4: when if, if, and when my grandma passes, my dad's
- 24:25Speaker 4: dad will probably move in, and then you're coasting other
- 24:27Speaker 4: family members and then you have kids, like you're you
- 24:30Speaker 4: never really have space that's just yourself, your your own,
- 24:33Speaker 4: Like you can't just go buy I mean, I guess
- 24:34Speaker 4: you could buy a condo and be like this is
- 24:35Speaker 4: my condo.
- 24:37Speaker 2: That does make me want to go to space alone though,
- 24:39Speaker 2: just to have it. One of the things I wanted
- 24:42Speaker 2: to talk about was the pool party on Sunday because
- 24:45Speaker 2: the thing that I'm doing because we got this whole
- 24:47Speaker 2: sinko to my own pool party, which Abby Okay, Well,
- 24:50Speaker 2: this is definitely going to dictate how this conversation goes.
- 24:53Speaker 2: If you're away at a funeral, then I do not
- 24:55Speaker 2: think I could go through with what I'm about to propose. Well,
- 24:58Speaker 2: we said something on the air that really star sparking conversations,
- 25:01Speaker 2: and that was whether it is the time for the
- 25:06Speaker 2: woman I'm dating to meet my ex girlfriend?
- 25:08Speaker 4: Oh yes, yeah at this pool party. I think you
- 25:11Speaker 4: need to come, she needs to come.
- 25:13Speaker 2: So so far what has transpired is my ex who's
- 25:18Speaker 2: a great friend, she heard that and she was like,
- 25:20Speaker 2: oh yeah, I mean I plan on being there. I
- 25:22Speaker 2: have no problem meeting the woman that you're dating. And
- 25:26Speaker 2: I casually mentioned it to the person my person and
- 25:31Speaker 2: I was like, hey, would you be down? But I
- 25:33Speaker 2: didn't tell her that it would be the first time
- 25:36Speaker 2: that they're meeting, because something about it feels one too soon.
- 25:42Speaker 2: But also, why does it feel awkward? It feels awkward
- 25:45Speaker 2: for me, like I feel like I'm in a weird position.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Why does it feel too soon for you?
- 25:49Speaker 2: Because it just feels like it's the wrong timing at
- 25:53Speaker 2: a work event where I'm literally schmoozing and I'm working
- 25:57Speaker 2: the whole thing. And am I supposed to just let
- 26:00Speaker 2: them just casually bump into each other?
- 26:03Speaker 3: Or is it like a all right, we're here.
- 26:06Speaker 2: So and so meet so and so and then just
- 26:08Speaker 2: disappear behind the bushes for a second?
- 26:10Speaker 3: Like how many people had to do this?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Like that's the point I've never had to introduce the
- 26:16Speaker 2: person that I am dating to an X.
- 26:20Speaker 4: It's soon, But also I think it's moving in the
- 26:23Speaker 4: direction to where it makes sense, you know what I mean, Like,
- 26:25Speaker 4: I think it's at this point. It'd be a little
- 26:27Speaker 4: weird if you were just like not hiding her from her,
- 26:29Speaker 4: but like, yeah, if you have the opportunity to where
- 26:32Speaker 4: they're going to be in the same place at the
- 26:34Speaker 4: same time, there's kind of no reason to hide what's
- 26:37Speaker 4: going on.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah, No, And I don't want to hide.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Like again, like my ex does not have she has
- 26:43Speaker 2: an idea of who she is, but I haven't told
- 26:46Speaker 2: her a name. I haven't said like, oh, yeah, here's
- 26:49Speaker 2: all the details, because I like things. Just I want
- 26:53Speaker 2: it to be comfortable for the girl I'm dating. I'm
- 26:56Speaker 2: just letting it just slowly progress, not like here's all
- 26:59Speaker 2: my best friends, here's my family, here's now my ex.
- 27:03Speaker 2: You know, like that seems like a lot, a lot
- 27:05Speaker 2: to throw on somebody this quick of time.
- 27:07Speaker 4: But I think you can't do or say the wrong
- 27:09Speaker 4: thing to the right person. That is a beautiful line, right.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Wow, you can't say that.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Came up with that to the right person. Okay, Actually
- 27:17Speaker 2: that might have just healed everything right there.
- 27:19Speaker 4: You can't do or say the wrong thing when it's
- 27:21Speaker 4: the right person, because ultimately she likes you enough. If
- 27:24Speaker 4: there's any part of it that bothers her, she's gonna
- 27:26Speaker 4: overlook it.
- 27:26Speaker 2: That's a good point. Yeah, it'll only be weird, I think,
- 27:29Speaker 2: because that is okay, I think in the core of it,
- 27:31Speaker 2: my thought is is it weird for her?
- 27:34Speaker 4: Like?
- 27:34Speaker 2: Is she not saying that it's weird to be like,
- 27:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna meet your ex.
- 27:37Speaker 4: I mean, I think it's gonna be weird in the
- 27:40Speaker 4: sense that it will be a little awkward at first,
- 27:43Speaker 4: kind of like hey, hey, how are you? And then
- 27:46Speaker 4: after a couple of tequil shots are gonna be fine.
- 27:48Speaker 2: God dang it, this is it's probably the healthiest thing, truthfully,
- 27:52Speaker 2: Like there's this whole my inspiration. This is a stretch.
- 27:57Speaker 2: But there's this couple in the Tampa Bay community. It's
- 28:00Speaker 2: like I'm trying to think, if you've seen them, Moms
- 28:03Speaker 2: of Tampa, Moms of Tampa, you gotta look them up
- 28:06Speaker 2: on Instagram or something. Look, because what they do is
- 28:08Speaker 2: it's these two best friends that like one married the
- 28:13Speaker 2: other's ex like they married each other's exes kind of deal.
- 28:16Speaker 2: So they have this beautiful, like blended family where it's
- 28:19Speaker 2: like the one one woman left her husband and the
- 28:23Speaker 2: other woman married him, and so they have the most
- 28:27Speaker 2: beautiful relationship.
- 28:28Speaker 3: Is it popping up?
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 28:30Speaker 3: What's their description? Does it describe it better than that?
- 28:32Speaker 4: It says Tampa Orlando, Miami Friendship, motherhood, blended family.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well that kind of puts together what I
- 28:39Speaker 3: was saying.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 28:40Speaker 2: But they have it where everyone hangs out like her
- 28:43Speaker 2: ex husband and her will be together with her husband
- 28:47Speaker 2: and it's like they're literally all exes, but they hang
- 28:49Speaker 2: together like kids with each other. They're the inspiration where
- 28:53Speaker 2: I'm like, if they could do it.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Then I could do it.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I also feel like you're in a unique situation to
- 28:57Speaker 4: where you guys ended on pretty good terms. And I
- 29:00Speaker 4: also feel like you both couldn't fight the fact that
- 29:03Speaker 4: you're looking for very different things, correct.
- 29:05Speaker 1: And I think you both agree on that.
- 29:08Speaker 4: It's not like a oh, you know, we had a
- 29:10Speaker 4: couple of arguments about this, this, and this. Like you
- 29:13Speaker 4: guys both fundamentally want extremely different lives.
- 29:17Speaker 2: That's a good I think that's the part that's hard
- 29:18Speaker 2: to explain to like outsiders. And I'm not saying the
- 29:22Speaker 2: person I'm dating is the outside I'm saying, like the outside.
- 29:24Speaker 3: World beyond us.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yes, Like, the one worry I have is that the
- 29:28Speaker 2: circle that extends beyond the woman I'm dating and my
- 29:32Speaker 2: ex is that the other people won't understand and they'll
- 29:36Speaker 2: start whispering things into their ears of like.
- 29:38Speaker 1: People are gonna talk no matter what.
- 29:40Speaker 3: That part sucks.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Again, Okay, I'm gonna keep that line in my head.
- 29:43Speaker 2: But I can't say the wrong thing to the right person.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Here's here's how I handled that. Because I have a
- 29:47Speaker 4: hard time with this too, and I you know, I'm
- 29:49Speaker 4: the first person to complain all the time about like
- 29:51Speaker 4: I hate you know when people outside of my circle
- 29:54Speaker 4: just sling unnecessary criticisms or comments or whatever. But I realized, literally,
- 30:00Speaker 4: no matter what you do, people are gonna talk about
- 30:02Speaker 4: you or say something, And so I would rather do
- 30:05Speaker 4: what feels right for me and then just let.
- 30:08Speaker 1: That be noise.
- 30:09Speaker 4: No, it doesn't mean it doesn't bother you, or it
- 30:11Speaker 4: doesn't sit in the back of your mind, but ultimately,
- 30:14Speaker 4: if you know what you're doing is leading you towards
- 30:17Speaker 4: the life that you want, I feel like that helps
- 30:20Speaker 4: any outside noise quite down a little bit.
- 30:23Speaker 2: That's a good point of just And also, like I
- 30:25Speaker 2: think for what I have to remind myself of is
- 30:27Speaker 2: like trusting the person, like trust the person to like,
- 30:30Speaker 2: you know, have enough faith in trusting you to like
- 30:34Speaker 2: be able to one navigate it, but to have the
- 30:38Speaker 2: conversation about it. And I know we're just talking about
- 30:40Speaker 2: like dagging like younger. Like younger Scott would not have
- 30:42Speaker 2: been able to handle all this. He would have royally
- 30:45Speaker 2: left it up. He would have like tried to like
- 30:47Speaker 2: just keep things on the down low, maybe not even
- 30:49Speaker 2: make a big.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Fuss about it.
- 30:51Speaker 2: My evolved version is the one that just wants to
- 30:54Speaker 2: have everything laid out on the table if it's you know,
- 30:56Speaker 2: you can't say the wrong thing to the right person
- 31:00Speaker 2: saying that and trusting them.
- 31:01Speaker 4: I really think, like, I know you're anxious about it.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I really do feel like it's gonna be a big deal.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Like I feel like we're going to come in next
- 31:06Speaker 4: Monday and be like, oh, why were we?
- 31:07Speaker 3: I think that's it's kind of like the band aid.
- 31:09Speaker 2: It's like, I don't I just want to rip it
- 31:10Speaker 2: off so it's done and it all just move forward together.
- 31:13Speaker 4: I don't even feel like this is ripping the band
- 31:15Speaker 4: aid off, Like I feel like this is gently removing
- 31:17Speaker 4: the band aid.
- 31:18Speaker 3: I think it's just because of the term X.
- 31:19Speaker 2: I think if people can understand like that my ex
- 31:21Speaker 2: partner is actually just like she's a friend. She's a friend,
- 31:25Speaker 2: and we just happened to date, and throughout that dating
- 31:28Speaker 2: we realized, oh wait, we better as friends.
- 31:31Speaker 1: We are so wrong for each other.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I think once that just the first initial meeting
- 31:38Speaker 2: would be great. That would be great.
- 31:40Speaker 1: I think that's gonna be fine. What's the worst in
- 31:43Speaker 1: your mind?
- 31:44Speaker 4: What is worst case scenario that you think feasibly is
- 31:46Speaker 4: going to happen.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Oh, feasibly Okay. Worst case scenario.
- 31:49Speaker 4: Is that someone pushes the other off the roof. That's horrible,
- 31:53Speaker 4: perfect night.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Everything else is just it's just an up cell.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Okay, Oh gosh, lay it out, you know what. That's fine,
- 31:59Speaker 2: we can talk the podcast. My biggest worry is the
- 32:03Speaker 2: person that I am dating. And I truly like, I
- 32:07Speaker 2: am just it's like a fun nervousness of like I
- 32:10Speaker 2: just don't want to f it up, and so I'm
- 32:12Speaker 2: looking for all the things.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I'm like, this is so interesting.
- 32:14Speaker 2: It's like an analogy where I'm like I'm driving and
- 32:17Speaker 2: I'm like just swerving like every little crevice. I'm like, God,
- 32:19Speaker 2: like this is I am really enjoying this. And so
- 32:22Speaker 2: I'm like looking at the universe. I'm like, do not
- 32:24Speaker 2: mess this up for me? And so why would I
- 32:27Speaker 2: purposely have something that can mess it up?
- 32:29Speaker 3: Like I don't know.
- 32:31Speaker 4: But it's not though, like they're gonna meet. They're two people.
- 32:34Speaker 4: It's not like you know, you're inviting her in to
- 32:37Speaker 4: be the third. Hey, come join me in my exit
- 32:40Speaker 4: the Moxie Hotel. We're on floor nine.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh you know what I mean? Like, you can't you
- 32:45Speaker 1: can't control all delete your ex she still exists.
- 32:49Speaker 3: That's true.
- 32:50Speaker 4: And you're gonna be in similar spaces. True, it's less
- 32:53Speaker 4: of a matter of if you're gonna meet each other
- 32:55Speaker 4: whereas when and you're just choosing a fun pool party.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I'll be there, you know, I'll bring my block like.
- 33:02Speaker 2: And I will say this because, especially like the person
- 33:05Speaker 2: I'm dating, like there, it has been so easy to
- 33:08Speaker 2: talk to them about these things and like, let everything
- 33:10Speaker 2: just be so normal and understanding and trustworthy, like that
- 33:15Speaker 2: part rocks. So I as I talk about this, literally,
- 33:17Speaker 2: this is all just my anxiety. Like my person has
- 33:20Speaker 2: not shared any of these thoughts, any of these worries,
- 33:23Speaker 2: any of this anxiousness.
- 33:24Speaker 3: It is purely on me.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I get that, but I say that here just
- 33:27Speaker 2: so I could have an open form of these thoughts
- 33:29Speaker 2: that have been just circling in my head as this
- 33:31Speaker 2: pool party approaches in the next six days.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Yeah do wamma see.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I think it will be fine. I know it will
- 33:40Speaker 2: be fine. It's just a what a weird position to
- 33:44Speaker 2: be in. I know, you don't really have to do
- 33:45Speaker 2: it much. And as I say, like you as in people,
- 33:48Speaker 2: how often does this hapend?
- 33:49Speaker 1: Like you don't have to do this much? I'm like,
- 33:50Speaker 1: I know, Scott, I'm zero X's.
- 33:55Speaker 2: But if you are in the Tampa Bay area and
- 33:56Speaker 2: you do listen to this, like please hit us up.
- 33:58Speaker 2: We'll get you into the Corona Scence go splash pool party,
- 34:02Speaker 2: and it's supposed to be a hell of a good time.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I'm glad Alexi is gonna be there because she kind
- 34:05Speaker 2: of runs the things at the Moxie.
- 34:07Speaker 3: She do be running it, she's the queen.
- 34:08Speaker 2: We're gonna have a lot of good people out there,
- 34:10Speaker 2: apparently a lot of hot people. We'll see how that goes.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Hot people in the Tampa Bay area.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Well, like last time we were there, there's a ton
- 34:17Speaker 3: of hot people.
- 34:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna do some special recruiting.
- 34:20Speaker 2: What does that even mean.
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm just gonna slide into people's dms like Hey.
- 34:24Speaker 2: Pool party, cool party, question Mark, come on, come on now,
- 34:27Speaker 2: I mean that'd be fun. Well again, if you are
- 34:29Speaker 2: in the area, hit us up, We'll get you in
- 34:31Speaker 2: and we'll continue to just share how this whole story unfolds.
- 34:34Speaker 3: But you know what I think.
- 34:35Speaker 2: First I'm gonna talk to my person. Let's see how
- 34:39Speaker 2: they're feeling about.
- 34:39Speaker 4: It, because they might not even want to go she's
- 34:41Speaker 4: gonna want to go. Maybe she's gonna want to go,
- 34:44Speaker 4: and it's really gonna be fine. I think she's gonna
- 34:45Speaker 4: be really cool about it.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I do too, I think actually, I think the actual
- 34:49Speaker 2: reality is that they're probably gonna be friends and it's
- 34:52Speaker 2: gonna be super casual and there's gonna be no worries
- 34:55Speaker 2: and I'm gonna look back and a week and be like, Scott,
- 35:00Speaker 2: don't be an idiot.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I hope it's a crap show. We have stuff to
- 35:02Speaker 1: talk about Monday.
- 35:03Speaker 2: Oh my god, let's have other people have crap shows.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'm sure there's gonna be couples fighting, new people hooking up.
- 35:07Speaker 2: There's gonna be people getting rooms that the box he
- 35:09Speaker 2: is gonna be nuts wild.
- 35:10Speaker 1: It gonna be crazy.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Tila shots, tequila shots me.
- 35:16Speaker 3: No, you know what? Oh my god.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Okay, let's go to a sales meeting. Abby. What's your
- 35:25Speaker 2: social media and mine is at Scott Tavlin and follow
- 35:29Speaker 2: along at Magic ninety four nine for the rest and
- 35:31Speaker 2: hopefully we'll see you the Sunday unless you're in the
- 35:33Speaker 2: Georgia area.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I know.
- 35:36Speaker 2: So.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Actually I don't note.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Just to kind of inform the fam, because, first off,
- 35:40Speaker 2: I get so many great messages about you, Abby, I
- 35:42Speaker 2: will say a lot of the fam here on the podcast,
- 35:44Speaker 2: I get so many incredible messages. I will say to
- 35:47Speaker 2: give you an update on how Abby's doing. We did
- 35:49Speaker 2: do fantastic on there. You know, our ratings, everything like
- 35:53Speaker 2: that of you know what kind of helps the company,
- 35:56Speaker 2: what helps like bonuses and all that stuff. We've done fantastic.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 36:00Speaker 4: I finally have enough money to buy duct tape to
- 36:02Speaker 4: put over my ring camera.
- 36:03Speaker 2: There you go. Things are moving in the right direction.
- 36:06Speaker 2: So just know that you grow Abby. She's doing fantastic
- 36:09Speaker 2: things over here and the community. As much as there
- 36:12Speaker 2: has been drama with other stations and people talking smack, well,
- 36:16Speaker 2: there ain't nothing to really talk about because numbers don't
- 36:19Speaker 2: lie well.
- 36:19Speaker 4: And also, thank you for putting your ratings on Apple
- 36:22Speaker 4: podcasts and Spotify. I've definitely seen a massive bump. I
- 36:25Speaker 4: think we're out five stars and Spotify.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Thank you for that.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Let's go, let's keep that going.
- 36:29Speaker 4: I don't check Apple podcasts because I'm never on Apple podcasts,
- 36:32Speaker 4: but thank you for that as well.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah, keep those reviews going, keep the stars going up
- 36:35Speaker 2: to five. We want five and that just helps us
- 36:38Speaker 2: when we go and talk to the big wigs over
- 36:39Speaker 2: here that they're like, close, the podcast doing well.
- 36:41Speaker 1: We have five stars.
- 36:43Speaker 3: That's light.
- 36:44Speaker 4: What do you think is the other who's our competitors
- 36:46Speaker 4: in the company for a best podcast? Can we claim
- 36:49Speaker 4: best podcast at Cox Media Group?
- 36:50Speaker 3: I think we could claim fastest growing.
- 36:52Speaker 1: Fastest growing posting.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Demand, probably highest downloaded.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Probably highest out So the number one?
- 36:57Speaker 3: Okay, you had the number one. I say that I
- 36:59Speaker 3: have no idea.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we actually have no idea.
- 37:01Speaker 2: There's people across the hall that are like, they probably
- 37:03Speaker 2: have had one up and it does fantastic.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I'm going to ask you about it afterwards.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Oh okay, then we'll see.
- 37:07Speaker 2: I'm gonna say right now, fastest growing and soon to
- 37:10Speaker 2: be the most listen to podcasts.
- 37:11Speaker 3: So thanks maam for being a part of this. All right,
- 37:13Speaker 3: we'll be back next time.
