Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: On a 6.7 Light FM, playing some romance in the morning.
- 0:03Speaker 2: It's Cubby Christine, producer Kristen.
- 0:05Speaker 3: We were slow dancing there.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a moment. Let's polish it off with
- 0:09Speaker 2: a bagel, shall we?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Now that's a way to kick off a morning.
- 0:12Speaker 2: That is true love.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Some slow dancing and now a bagel.
- 0:15Speaker 2: And bagels are true love, Cubby.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So Einstein Brothers has come up with a new plan.
- 0:21Speaker 2: They have pull-apart bagels.
- 0:24Speaker 1: For those of us who can't be bothered to slice
- 0:26Speaker 1: and dice bagels, The bagels, let me show you a.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Picture of it. They're already broken apart, so you can
- 0:31Speaker 2: take little wedges out.
- 0:33Speaker 3: That's fine. What's the big deal? Why is this like
- 0:35Speaker 3: a news story?
- 0:36Speaker 2: Because that's not how you eat bagels.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It's all going in your mouth, regardless.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Where did you grow up?
- 0:42Speaker 3: Sorry. I grew up in Virginia Beach, but I've been
- 0:45Speaker 3: here 30 years.
- 0:46Speaker 2: That would explain things. We slice.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Well, sometimes bagels are just too big. I just kind
- 0:53Speaker 3: of pick apart at it, and it looks like a
- 0:55Speaker 3: mouse was on it. You know, like I tear it apart.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Not all the time, but what's the big deal if
- 1:00Speaker 3: I do?
- 1:02Speaker 1: You're eating it wrong. You don't take a bagel and
- 1:04Speaker 1: slice it down the middle.
- 1:06Speaker 3: If it's already done, I mean, I love it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: If it's already done.
- 1:09Speaker 3: And if I have a knife nearby, I'll do it.
- 1:11Speaker 3: But sometimes, you know, we've had bagel deliveries here. Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 3: And we're really busy. Yeah. And we're on the air
- 1:17Speaker 3: and the bagel is really big. And I don't want to,
- 1:19Speaker 3: you know, it looks like I'm eating an inner tube
- 1:21Speaker 3: if I put the whole thing into my mouth.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So I just kind of like We'll rip it apart
- 1:24Speaker 3: and put it in my mouth.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And start chewing.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So then you would say, Einstein brothers, thank you, because
- 1:28Speaker 1: now I don't have to pull it apart. You've done
- 1:30Speaker 1: it for me.
- 1:30Speaker 3: You just nailed it. You took the words out of
- 1:32Speaker 3: my mouth.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:33Speaker 3: But you're saying this is almost up there with eating pizza.
- 1:37Speaker 2: With a fork and knife. Not folding it.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Right. Kristen and I feel, born and raised in New
- 1:43Speaker 1: Jersey and here in New York City, there's a certain
- 1:45Speaker 1: way to go about bagels.
- 1:46Speaker 2: We like them sliced down the middle. And she and
- 1:50Speaker 2: I differ.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Um, Kristen likes to eat like either just the top
- 1:55Speaker 1: or just the bottom. Not the tip. I, yeah, she's
- 1:58Speaker 1: either a top or bottom. I like, I like the whole,
- 2:01Speaker 1: like I'll slice it. So you're slicing it down the middle, right?
- 2:06Speaker 1: And then you're slicing it down the middle again. What
- 2:08Speaker 1: am I doing? Like width and length is what I'm
- 2:10Speaker 1: talking about. I like the whole, like the experience of
- 2:14Speaker 1: the whole bagel.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Okay. Now if it's cut like that, I'm not going
- 2:16Speaker 3: to be mad at it, but also I don't mind
- 2:19Speaker 3: ripping it apart. So with, Einstein now doing this for me.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 3: It's going to be like grab and go.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Einstein brothers, please take note. You're doing well with your plan.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I just say it doesn't work for me. I don't
- 2:32Speaker 1: like just having the top or the bottom either. Like
- 2:34Speaker 1: I said, I want the experience of the whole bagel.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So like if the bagels are out there and they're pre-sliced,
- 2:40Speaker 1: is that what you do? You just grab a top
- 2:42Speaker 1: or a bottom?
- 2:43Speaker 3: Correct.
- 2:44Speaker 2: And which one do you grab?
- 2:45Speaker 3: The top.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Oh, well.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Then I'm left with the bottom.
- 2:49Speaker 1: See, that's why that doesn't work.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I think we should slice them.
- 2:51Speaker 3: The other way, too. So what's the question we should
- 2:53Speaker 3: throw out to the audience? How do you eat a bagel?
- 2:55Speaker 3: How do you eat a bagel? Is that that simple?
- 2:57Speaker 3: It's that simple. And are you for or against the
- 3:01Speaker 3: pre-ripped bagel for you?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Yeah, because you can't do it.
